00:02:45.79\00:02:47.60 Amen. 00:02:47.63\00:02:48.96 Okay, we have two witnesses, we can start. 00:02:49.00\00:02:51.57 Verse 10. 00:02:51.60\00:02:52.97 "For if when we were enemies 00:02:53.00\00:02:57.57 we were reconciled to God by the death of His son, 00:02:57.61\00:03:01.84 much more, being reconciled, 00:03:01.88\00:03:04.51 we shall be saved by His life." 00:03:04.55\00:03:10.45 Praise the Lord. 00:03:10.49\00:03:11.92 So we see that in the scripture says, 00:03:11.95\00:03:13.66 "For if when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God." 00:03:13.69\00:03:19.69 This helps us understand that at one point in time, 00:03:19.73\00:03:23.53 if you're a Christian now, at one point in time 00:03:23.57\00:03:25.03 you were an enemy, actually, 00:03:25.07\00:03:27.80 those that are unconverted are really at war with God. 00:03:27.84\00:03:32.44 The Bible says that all have sinned 00:03:32.47\00:03:35.14 and come short of the glory of God, 00:03:35.18\00:03:37.55 and that the carnal mind is at enmity against God. 00:03:37.58\00:03:42.18 It is not subject to the law of God, 00:03:42.22\00:03:43.95 neither indeed can be. 00:03:43.99\00:03:46.55 You can find that in the Book of Romans 00:03:46.59\00:03:48.99 Chapter 8. 00:03:49.02\00:03:50.36 So the person that is unconverted 00:03:50.39\00:03:53.73 cannot really keep God's law. 00:03:53.76\00:03:57.50 In fact, some people may be shocked, 00:03:57.53\00:03:59.10 even as I said, "Keep God's law" 00:03:59.13\00:04:00.84 because people say, "Oh no, you cannot keep God's law." 00:04:00.87\00:04:03.91 Well, in our own strength, we cannot. 00:04:03.94\00:04:06.07 Jesus plainly tells us in John 15:5, 00:04:06.11\00:04:10.08 that without Him we can do nothing. 00:04:10.11\00:04:12.55 So we understand 00:04:12.58\00:04:13.92 that if without Him, we can do nothing. 00:04:13.95\00:04:15.85 With Him, what can we do? 00:04:15.88\00:04:17.95 All things. 00:04:17.99\00:04:19.32 All things because the Bible tells us 00:04:19.35\00:04:20.86 in Philippians 4:13, 00:04:20.89\00:04:23.19 "That with God, all things are possible." 00:04:23.22\00:04:27.83 And I praise the Lord for that. 00:04:27.86\00:04:29.80 Now let's take a look at this verse, 00:04:29.83\00:04:31.80 we're going to take it one chunk at a time. 00:04:31.83\00:04:35.00 So we see here that, 00:04:35.04\00:04:37.87 "We were reconciled to God," by what? 00:04:37.91\00:04:40.74 The scripture says, "By the death of His son." 00:04:40.78\00:04:45.35 So now in this scripture, you will notice 00:04:45.38\00:04:47.58 that there's a difference being made 00:04:47.62\00:04:49.98 between being reconciled and being saved. 00:04:50.02\00:04:54.12 Being reconciled and being saved, 00:04:54.16\00:04:56.86 two different things are brought out here. 00:04:56.89\00:04:59.09 Now you will also notice that one is past tense, 00:04:59.13\00:05:03.77 and one is future tense. 00:05:03.80\00:05:06.53 Let's look at the past tense. 00:05:06.57\00:05:09.30 Notice that it says, 00:05:09.34\00:05:11.91 "For if when we were enemies we were reconciled," 00:05:11.94\00:05:14.64 past tense, 00:05:14.68\00:05:16.01 "to God by the death of His son." 00:05:16.04\00:05:18.11 So this is talking about a point in time 00:05:18.15\00:05:21.92 when we made a decision to follow Jesus. 00:05:21.95\00:05:27.32 We repented of our sins, we gave our lives to the Lord, 00:05:27.36\00:05:32.13 and accepted His sacrifice for us on the cross. 00:05:32.16\00:05:37.00 When Jesus Christ died on the cross, 00:05:37.03\00:05:40.24 He made available to every person 00:05:40.27\00:05:43.81 that has ever lived upon this earth, 00:05:43.84\00:05:46.24 or will ever live upon this earth, 00:05:46.27\00:05:48.68 the possibility of having salvation 00:05:48.71\00:05:51.75 through His sacrifice on the cross. 00:05:51.78\00:05:55.08 So when Jesus dies on the cross, 00:05:55.12\00:05:57.89 He makes that possible. 00:05:57.92\00:06:00.06 And everyone knows the scripture that says, 00:06:00.09\00:06:03.36 John 3:16, 00:06:03.39\00:06:04.73 maybe you can quote it with me, help me out. 00:06:04.76\00:06:07.23 "For God so loved the world 00:06:07.26\00:06:10.20 that He gave His only begotten Son, 00:06:10.23\00:06:13.03 that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish 00:06:13.07\00:06:17.37 but have everlasting life." 00:06:17.41\00:06:20.91 So we see even in this scripture, 00:06:20.94\00:06:22.64 John 3:16, 00:06:22.68\00:06:24.01 that every person has the opportunity 00:06:24.05\00:06:26.31 to have eternal life. 00:06:26.35\00:06:28.08 It says, "Whosoever believes in Him will not perish." 00:06:28.12\00:06:33.19 By the way, what does it mean to perish? 00:06:33.22\00:06:38.19 You ever see an item in the grocery store, 00:06:38.23\00:06:41.06 it says, perishable items, what does that mean? 00:06:41.10\00:06:44.93 Items that will decay 00:06:44.97\00:06:47.30 and become practically worthless to you, 00:06:47.34\00:06:50.51 they will have no nutritional value. 00:06:50.54\00:06:52.67 So perish means actually to die, 00:06:52.71\00:06:56.44 cease to exist. 00:06:56.48\00:06:58.18 So when we see this scripture, "That God so loved the world 00:06:58.21\00:07:01.48 that He gave His only begotten Son 00:07:01.52\00:07:03.12 that whosoever believes in Him will not perish." 00:07:03.15\00:07:07.06 What does the rest of the verse tell us? 00:07:07.09\00:07:12.03 You will have everlasting life. 00:07:12.06\00:07:14.96 Now, if you believe, you will not perish. 00:07:15.00\00:07:18.27 What happens if you choose not to believe? 00:07:18.30\00:07:20.37 What happens if you choose 00:07:20.40\00:07:21.74 not to follow the Lord Jesus Christ? 00:07:21.77\00:07:23.51 You will not have eternal life and you will what? 00:07:23.54\00:07:26.68 Perish. 00:07:26.71\00:07:28.28 That's what will happen, you will perish, 00:07:28.31\00:07:30.15 you will cease to exist. 00:07:30.18\00:07:31.58 You can look at Revelation Chapter 20. 00:07:31.61\00:07:33.52 And it talks about the second death 00:07:33.55\00:07:35.52 because we all know that every one of us 00:07:35.55\00:07:38.02 is subject to death, 00:07:38.05\00:07:40.06 at least the first death. 00:07:40.09\00:07:41.79 So if you follow the Lord, if you give your heart to Him, 00:07:41.82\00:07:44.79 you may die once and not twice. 00:07:44.83\00:07:49.53 But if you choose not to follow the Lord, 00:07:49.56\00:07:52.17 you may die once and then twice 00:07:52.20\00:07:58.24 because the Bible calls 00:07:58.27\00:08:01.94 the second death, the wages of sin 00:08:01.98\00:08:04.58 because the Bible says in Romans 6:23, 00:08:04.61\00:08:06.88 "For the wages of sin is," what? 00:08:06.92\00:08:09.72 "Death but the gift of God is eternal life 00:08:09.75\00:08:13.15 through His Son Jesus Christ." 00:08:13.19\00:08:15.09 So now let's look at this scripture. 00:08:15.12\00:08:16.69 What does the Bible say? 00:08:16.73\00:08:18.16 Romans 5:10, says, 00:08:18.19\00:08:19.83 "We were reconciled by the death of His son." 00:08:19.86\00:08:23.33 It does not say we were saved by the death of His son. 00:08:23.37\00:08:26.43 It says, "We were reconciled," 00:08:26.47\00:08:28.14 what does being reconciled mean? 00:08:28.17\00:08:30.97 It means that two individuals 00:08:31.01\00:08:34.84 that were not at peace with one another 00:08:34.88\00:08:37.78 are brought together 00:08:37.81\00:08:39.21 and they are now at peace, you become friends. 00:08:39.25\00:08:44.12 So when we were sinners, 00:08:44.15\00:08:47.06 when we did not walk with the Lord, 00:08:47.09\00:08:49.19 we were His enemy. 00:08:49.22\00:08:51.09 When we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, 00:08:51.13\00:08:54.30 we are brought into harmony with God 00:08:54.33\00:08:57.60 and so we are no longer enemies at odds with God, 00:08:57.63\00:09:01.17 we become reconciled. 00:09:01.20\00:09:03.44 In fact, the Bible goes on to tell us 00:09:03.47\00:09:05.74 that we become sons and daughters of God. 00:09:05.77\00:09:09.71 So praise the Lord for that. 00:09:09.74\00:09:11.15 Amen. Amen. 00:09:11.18\00:09:12.81 So by the death of Jesus Christ, 00:09:12.85\00:09:15.18 those who accept Him can be reconciled, 00:09:15.22\00:09:18.62 can become in harmony with God. 00:09:18.65\00:09:21.02 But let's look at the scripture once again. 00:09:21.06\00:09:25.96 Because we see here 00:09:25.99\00:09:27.33 that there's a distinction being made 00:09:27.36\00:09:29.06 between reconciliation and salvation. 00:09:29.10\00:09:31.73 They are not contradictory. 00:09:31.77\00:09:34.20 And they actually harmonize 00:09:34.24\00:09:35.74 perfectly in God's great plan of salvation. 00:09:35.77\00:09:38.87 So let's look now at the last part. 00:09:38.91\00:09:41.88 Actually, I would like to look at some scriptures 00:09:41.91\00:09:44.21 that help us see the same thing. 00:09:44.25\00:09:46.08 Let's go first to Colossians Chapter 1, 00:09:46.11\00:09:48.85 Colossians 1:20. 00:09:48.88\00:09:51.45 A couple of verses here that we're going to look at 00:09:51.49\00:09:53.96 that help us see the same thing being described here, 00:09:53.99\00:09:57.79 that by the death of Jesus Christ, 00:09:57.83\00:09:59.69 we were reconciled to God by His death. 00:09:59.73\00:10:03.77 So Colossians Chapter 1, we are going to read verse, 00:10:03.80\00:10:07.64 verses 20-22. 00:10:07.67\00:10:09.84 Colossians 1:20-22. 00:10:09.87\00:10:12.61 If you're ready, say amen. 00:10:12.64\00:10:14.58 Amen, let's read. 00:10:14.61\00:10:16.34 "And, having made peace 00:10:16.38\00:10:20.02 through the blood of his cross, 00:10:20.05\00:10:23.39 by him to reconcile all things unto himself 00:10:23.42\00:10:26.99 by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, 00:10:27.02\00:10:30.09 or things in heaven." 00:10:30.13\00:10:33.23 Notice verse 20, says that 00:10:33.26\00:10:36.46 "We have peace through the blood of his cross." 00:10:36.50\00:10:39.27 Now, let's look at verse 21. 00:10:39.30\00:10:41.24 "And you, that were some time," 00:10:41.27\00:10:45.37 that sometime means in the past, 00:10:45.41\00:10:49.68 "sometime alienated," what does it say we were? 00:10:49.71\00:10:53.58 "Alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, 00:10:53.62\00:10:59.85 yet now hath he reconciled." 00:10:59.89\00:11:03.43 So we see here as we read verse 21, 00:11:03.46\00:11:06.63 that in the past we were enemies 00:11:06.66\00:11:09.70 and because of wicked works, 00:11:09.73\00:11:13.23 but because of Jesus Christ, His death on the cross, 00:11:13.27\00:11:16.87 we can be reconciled. 00:11:16.91\00:11:19.27 Verse 22, 00:11:19.31\00:11:20.78 "In the body of His flesh through death, 00:11:20.81\00:11:25.11 to present you," how? 00:11:25.15\00:11:27.18 "Holy and unblameable 00:11:27.22\00:11:29.65 and unreproveable in His sight." 00:11:29.68\00:11:34.32 The death of Jesus Christ makes it possible 00:11:34.36\00:11:38.16 for us to be reconciled. 00:11:38.19\00:11:40.10 But verse 22, 00:11:40.13\00:11:41.86 then speaks of a condition that God wants to work in us. 00:11:41.90\00:11:47.30 And that is, as we read, that we become what? 00:11:47.34\00:11:52.74 Unblameable and unreproveable in His sight. 00:11:52.77\00:11:58.31 Now, there is a condition. 00:11:58.35\00:12:01.82 What is that condition? 00:12:01.85\00:12:03.39 Let's look at verse 23. 00:12:03.42\00:12:04.75 Colossians 1:23. 00:12:04.79\00:12:08.22 We see here that the Bible presents 00:12:08.26\00:12:09.89 to us a condition to be able to have this experience 00:12:09.92\00:12:15.60 that Jesus is able to present us holy and unblameable 00:12:15.63\00:12:18.43 and unreproveable in His sight, 00:12:18.47\00:12:20.27 verse 23, 00:12:20.30\00:12:21.64 "If ye continue in the faith 00:12:21.67\00:12:26.37 grounded and settled, 00:12:26.41\00:12:29.51 and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, 00:12:29.54\00:12:34.15 which ye have heard, 00:12:34.18\00:12:35.58 and which was preached to every creature 00:12:35.62\00:12:37.62 which is under heaven, 00:12:37.65\00:12:38.99 whereof I Paul am made a minister." 00:12:39.02\00:12:42.72 So we see here then, 00:12:42.76\00:12:44.46 that the Bible presents to us 00:12:44.49\00:12:46.43 that those that are going to be saved, 00:12:46.46\00:12:50.57 have to remain with Jesus Christ. 00:12:50.60\00:12:53.90 Amen. 00:12:53.94\00:12:55.34 If you what? 00:12:55.37\00:12:56.71 What does the scripture say? 00:12:56.74\00:12:58.07 If you continue in the faith. 00:12:58.11\00:13:00.94 Now in the past, I have run into people. 00:13:00.98\00:13:03.85 I remember this very well, 00:13:03.88\00:13:05.48 that he said that once I accept Jesus Christ 00:13:05.51\00:13:08.88 as my personal Savior, I am going to be saved. 00:13:08.92\00:13:12.75 And so we began to talk about the possibility 00:13:12.79\00:13:15.52 that he would turn away from God. 00:13:15.56\00:13:17.66 So we began to talk about that. 00:13:17.69\00:13:20.50 And he said, "No," even if, 00:13:20.53\00:13:22.40 and so I had to ask him a direct question. 00:13:22.43\00:13:24.53 You mean to tell me that if you choose right here, 00:13:24.57\00:13:28.74 to give your life to Jesus Christ, 00:13:28.77\00:13:30.74 and then a month later, two months later, 00:13:30.77\00:13:33.71 three months later, even the following week, 00:13:33.74\00:13:36.08 you decide to turn away from God 00:13:36.11\00:13:37.75 and dedicate your life to sin. 00:13:37.78\00:13:40.02 Are you going to be saved? 00:13:40.05\00:13:41.88 He said, "Yes, I will be 00:13:41.92\00:13:43.92 because I gave my life to Jesus Christ." 00:13:43.95\00:13:46.76 And you see the scriptures do not, do not agree with that. 00:13:46.79\00:13:51.69 We saw here if you remain in the faith, 00:13:51.73\00:13:56.00 grounded, and settled. 00:13:56.03\00:13:57.90 So those that begin to walk with Jesus Christ 00:13:57.93\00:14:00.24 must continue to walk with Jesus Christ, 00:14:00.27\00:14:02.57 if they are going to be saved, but we have good news. 00:14:02.60\00:14:06.47 The Lord is good. 00:14:06.51\00:14:07.84 We read that whosoever believes in Him 00:14:07.88\00:14:09.21 shall not perish, but have everlasting life. 00:14:09.24\00:14:11.35 The good news is, 00:14:11.38\00:14:13.25 that anyone that chooses to come to Christ, 00:14:13.28\00:14:17.99 the Bible says in John 6:37, "If any man," what? 00:14:18.02\00:14:21.52 "Cometh after me, I will in no wise cast out." 00:14:21.56\00:14:24.76 Nobody will be rejected, 00:14:24.79\00:14:26.29 that chooses to have salvation and goes to Jesus Christ. 00:14:26.33\00:14:29.66 Would you say amen to that? 00:14:29.70\00:14:31.27 Amen. 00:14:31.30\00:14:33.54 So, I would like to invite you now to follow me 00:14:33.57\00:14:36.67 in Hebrews Chapter 10. 00:14:36.71\00:14:38.61 We are going to look at two scriptures there, 00:14:38.64\00:14:41.44 two verses, Hebrews Chapter 10. 00:14:41.48\00:14:44.95 If you will follow me to Hebrews Chapter 10, 00:14:44.98\00:14:47.22 we will find verses 38 and 39. 00:14:47.25\00:14:52.22 Are we ready? Say amen. 00:14:52.25\00:14:54.42 All right, here we go. 00:14:54.46\00:14:56.93 "Now the just shall live by faith 00:14:56.96\00:15:00.70 but if any man drawback, 00:15:00.73\00:15:04.70 my soul shall have no pleasure in him." 00:15:04.73\00:15:07.90 So we see here in verse 38, 00:15:07.94\00:15:10.11 that the just must live by faith 00:15:10.14\00:15:12.37 and continue there. 00:15:12.41\00:15:13.74 And we'll look at verse 39. 00:15:13.78\00:15:15.41 "But we are not of them who draw back unto," what? 00:15:15.44\00:15:20.05 "Perdition," the Bible says, 00:15:20.08\00:15:21.82 "but of them that believe to the saving of the soul." 00:15:21.85\00:15:26.76 To them that believe to the saving of the soul. 00:15:26.79\00:15:29.02 In other words, Paul is talking about individuals 00:15:29.06\00:15:31.69 that continue to follow God. 00:15:31.73\00:15:34.20 Now you notice how it says interestingly here, 00:15:34.23\00:15:37.03 and it describes that we are then that believe, 00:15:37.07\00:15:40.04 to the saving of the soul. 00:15:40.07\00:15:41.47 Question, does the Bible say that the devils believe? 00:15:41.50\00:15:45.91 It does say that. 00:15:45.94\00:15:47.28 The devils believe but are they going to be saved? 00:15:47.31\00:15:49.54 No, because they don't believe to the saving of the soul. 00:15:49.58\00:15:52.58 As a matter of fact, 00:15:52.61\00:15:53.95 their belief is not really a belief of faith. 00:15:53.98\00:15:56.72 Their belief is a... 00:15:56.75\00:15:58.15 It's a, to them a fact because they have seen God, 00:15:58.19\00:16:01.02 they know that He is the mighty God 00:16:01.06\00:16:03.16 and the Creator, 00:16:03.19\00:16:04.53 but they choose to do works of darkness, 00:16:04.56\00:16:08.10 which unfortunately 00:16:08.13\00:16:10.70 will bring them the wages of sin. 00:16:10.73\00:16:14.24 So this idea of being reconciled 00:16:14.27\00:16:19.71 by the death of Jesus Christ. 00:16:19.74\00:16:21.74 Notice that, the being reconciled part 00:16:21.78\00:16:25.81 precedes the part that we shall be saved. 00:16:25.85\00:16:28.55 We shall be saved in future tense in Romans 5:10. 00:16:28.58\00:16:32.59 So the conclusion is 00:16:32.62\00:16:35.29 by the life of Christ, we shall be saved. 00:16:35.32\00:16:37.93 Question, which life? 00:16:37.96\00:16:41.36 You see, it is the life that Jesus lived on this earth, 00:16:41.40\00:16:45.43 plus His life as our High Priest 00:16:45.47\00:16:50.51 in the heavenly sanctuary. 00:16:50.54\00:16:52.47 And we're gonna unwrap that 00:16:52.51\00:16:54.61 as some people like to say unwrap that as we continue. 00:16:54.64\00:16:58.25 So stay by. 00:16:58.28\00:16:59.71 Now we move to Hebrews Chapter 7, 00:16:59.75\00:17:01.52 you are in Hebrews Chapter 10. 00:17:01.55\00:17:03.18 It is not very far, 00:17:03.22\00:17:04.85 just turn a few pages and or click a few times 00:17:04.89\00:17:08.56 as some people do in their electronic devices. 00:17:08.59\00:17:11.29 And join me. 00:17:11.33\00:17:12.66 We're gonna read several verses here beginning at verse 21. 00:17:12.69\00:17:14.93 Hebrews Chapter 7, beginning in verse 21. 00:17:14.96\00:17:18.23 Notice the scriptures, they speak to us this way. 00:17:18.27\00:17:22.57 "For those priests were made without an oath, 00:17:22.60\00:17:26.04 but this with an oath by him that said unto him, 00:17:26.07\00:17:30.18 the Lord swear and will not repent, 00:17:30.21\00:17:32.75 thou art a priest for ever 00:17:32.78\00:17:34.92 after the order of Melchizedek." 00:17:34.95\00:17:37.09 We're talking about Jesus Christ, 00:17:37.12\00:17:39.22 "By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament. 00:17:39.25\00:17:45.83 And they truly were many priests, 00:17:45.86\00:17:49.53 but because they were not suffered 00:17:49.56\00:17:52.00 to continue by reason of death. 00:17:52.03\00:17:55.04 But this man, because he continues forever," 00:17:55.07\00:17:58.04 who continues forever? 00:17:58.07\00:18:00.24 Jesus Christ, "because he continues, 00:18:00.28\00:18:03.71 ever hath an unchangeable priesthood." 00:18:03.75\00:18:07.08 Verse 25, 00:18:07.12\00:18:08.45 "Wherefore he is able also to save them 00:18:08.48\00:18:11.95 to the uttermost that come unto God by him, 00:18:11.99\00:18:15.29 seeing he ever lives to make intercession for them. 00:18:15.32\00:18:21.33 For such an High Priest became us, 00:18:21.36\00:18:23.50 who is holy, harmless, undefiled, 00:18:23.53\00:18:26.67 separate from sinners, 00:18:26.70\00:18:28.07 and made higher than the heavens. 00:18:28.10\00:18:30.54 Who needeth not daily, as those High Priests, 00:18:30.57\00:18:33.51 to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, 00:18:33.54\00:18:36.85 and then for the people's, 00:18:36.88\00:18:38.51 for this he did once, when he offered up himself." 00:18:38.55\00:18:42.12 Amen to that. 00:18:42.15\00:18:43.89 So what does the scripture say? 00:18:43.92\00:18:45.49 We read there in verse 25, 00:18:45.52\00:18:48.42 that Jesus ever lives to make intercession for us. 00:18:48.46\00:18:53.13 So when we see the scripture in Romans 5:10, that says 00:18:53.16\00:18:56.46 that we were reconciled by the death of His son 00:18:56.50\00:18:59.37 much more being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 00:18:59.40\00:19:03.10 It is talking about that we needed a High Priest. 00:19:03.14\00:19:09.28 We needed a High Priest 00:19:09.31\00:19:11.01 in order for the plan of redemption, 00:19:11.05\00:19:14.22 the plan of salvation to be completed. 00:19:14.25\00:19:18.75 You can see this brought out in the sanctuary service 00:19:18.79\00:19:24.13 described in most part in the Old Testament. 00:19:24.16\00:19:27.10 Also in the Book of Hebrews, 00:19:27.13\00:19:28.46 you see a description of what the earthly sanctuary, 00:19:28.50\00:19:32.83 what the earthly sacrifices were, 00:19:32.87\00:19:35.57 they all pointed to Jesus Christ. 00:19:35.60\00:19:37.51 Remember, the John the Baptist says, 00:19:37.54\00:19:39.14 "Behold, the Lamb of God that taketh away," what? 00:19:39.17\00:19:43.21 "The sin of the world." 00:19:43.24\00:19:45.35 So in order for Jesus 00:19:45.38\00:19:46.72 to take away the sin of the world, 00:19:46.75\00:19:48.15 in order for Jesus to take away our sin, 00:19:48.18\00:19:50.35 first He had to die for us, 00:19:50.39\00:19:51.72 second He had to be resurrected from the dead 00:19:51.75\00:19:53.66 to become our High Priest 00:19:53.69\00:19:55.92 and minister in the heavenly sanctuary 00:19:55.96\00:19:58.03 to wipe out completely our record of sin. 00:19:58.06\00:20:01.96 And this is being happening 00:20:02.00\00:20:06.40 as we speak in the heavenly sanctuary. 00:20:06.43\00:20:08.87 I would like to read something to you from a book 00:20:08.90\00:20:11.71 called The Great Controversy, page 489. 00:20:11.74\00:20:16.24 This I found explains it 00:20:16.28\00:20:18.91 perhaps in a much better way than I do. 00:20:18.95\00:20:21.38 So I want to share this with you, 00:20:21.42\00:20:22.75 it is Great Controversy 00:20:22.78\00:20:24.65 written by Ellen G. 00:20:51.55\00:20:53.42 "The intercession of Christ in man's behalf 00:20:53.45\00:20:57.79 in the sanctuary above 00:20:57.82\00:20:59.15 is as essential to the plan of salvation 00:20:59.19\00:21:01.06 as was His death upon the cross. 00:21:01.09\00:21:03.43 By His death He began the work 00:21:03.46\00:21:07.40 which after His resurrection 00:21:07.43\00:21:09.46 He ascended to complete in heaven. 00:21:09.50\00:21:12.80 We must by faith enter within the veil, 00:21:12.83\00:21:16.94 'whither the forerunner is for us entered.'" 00:21:16.97\00:21:19.74 Hebrews 6:20, we continue. 00:21:19.77\00:21:22.98 "There the light from the cross of Calvary is reflected. 00:21:23.01\00:21:26.98 There we may gain a clearer insight 00:21:27.02\00:21:29.65 into the mysteries of redemption. 00:21:29.68\00:21:32.02 The salvation of man is accomplished 00:21:32.05\00:21:34.89 at an infinite expense to heaven. 00:21:34.92\00:21:38.23 The sacrifice made is equal to the broadest demands 00:21:38.26\00:21:41.46 of the broken law of God. 00:21:41.50\00:21:43.30 Jesus has opened the way to the Father's throne, 00:21:43.33\00:21:47.64 and through His mediation 00:21:47.67\00:21:50.44 the sincere desire of all who come to Him in faith 00:21:50.47\00:21:54.11 may be presented before God." 00:21:54.14\00:21:57.55 So I say, praise the Lord. 00:21:57.58\00:22:00.75 So this paragraph and the things we have said, 00:22:00.78\00:22:03.72 help us to understand that it was necessary 00:22:03.75\00:22:07.12 for Christ to be resurrected from the dead, 00:22:07.16\00:22:09.59 to become our High Priest, 00:22:09.62\00:22:11.53 to be able to continue the work of salvation, 00:22:11.56\00:22:15.23 the work of redemption 00:22:15.26\00:22:16.70 in the heavenly courts in heaven, 00:22:16.73\00:22:19.00 in the most Holy Place in heaven. 00:22:19.03\00:22:22.64 But there are phases of the sanctuary service. 00:22:22.67\00:22:28.08 You may remember 00:22:28.11\00:22:29.44 that as you look at the sanctuary service, 00:22:29.48\00:22:31.55 there was an outer court. 00:22:31.58\00:22:33.11 What used to happen in the outer court? 00:22:33.15\00:22:35.58 Can somebody say what used to happen? 00:22:35.62\00:22:38.72 That's right, people brought their sacrifices. 00:22:38.75\00:22:42.59 Let's say they brought a lamb because of sin they committed. 00:22:42.62\00:22:46.73 There the priest will take the lamb, 00:22:46.76\00:22:50.00 and the person that brought the lamb 00:22:50.03\00:22:53.00 would place his hands on the head of the animal, 00:22:53.03\00:22:56.57 confess his sin, 00:22:56.60\00:22:57.94 and symbolically the sin was transferred to the animal 00:22:57.97\00:23:00.94 because the animal 00:23:00.98\00:23:02.31 was a representation of Jesus Christ. 00:23:02.34\00:23:03.91 Jesus Christ took our sins upon Him 00:23:03.95\00:23:06.72 when He died on the cross. 00:23:06.75\00:23:08.22 I say amen to that. 00:23:08.25\00:23:09.95 Afterwards, the animal was sacrificed. 00:23:09.98\00:23:13.52 And the priest began a process 00:23:13.56\00:23:15.86 of using the blood to make an atonement 00:23:15.89\00:23:19.96 for the individual, for the sinner. 00:23:20.00\00:23:22.96 So this happened in the outer court. 00:23:23.00\00:23:25.70 If you look at in the Book of Hebrews, 00:23:25.73\00:23:27.07 it says that Jesus Christ died outside the gate, 00:23:27.10\00:23:30.77 as the outer court. 00:23:30.81\00:23:32.34 This earth is like the outer court 00:23:32.37\00:23:35.01 of the earthly sanctuary. 00:23:35.04\00:23:39.18 The earthly sanctuary also had a Holy Place. 00:23:39.21\00:23:43.02 What used to happen in the Holy Place? 00:23:43.05\00:23:44.79 If you look at a diagram of the Holy Place, 00:23:44.82\00:23:47.72 you will see there 00:23:47.76\00:23:49.09 that there's a table of showbread 00:23:49.12\00:23:50.46 with loaves of bread 00:23:50.49\00:23:52.69 and across from there is, 00:23:52.73\00:23:54.60 it was on the north side by the way, 00:23:54.63\00:23:56.90 across from there was the what? 00:23:56.93\00:23:59.67 Candlestick. 00:23:59.70\00:24:01.54 What else was in the Holy Place? 00:24:01.57\00:24:05.41 The altar of incense, the altar of incense was there, 00:24:05.44\00:24:09.58 and the priest, 00:24:09.61\00:24:11.75 the common priest would go into the Holy Place. 00:24:11.78\00:24:14.78 And every day there was work in the Holy Place taking place. 00:24:14.82\00:24:19.29 The incense represented the prayers of the saints. 00:24:19.32\00:24:23.43 And there, we're gonna read some scripture 00:24:23.46\00:24:26.86 that help us see some of the things 00:24:26.90\00:24:28.50 that used to happen in the Holy Place. 00:24:28.53\00:24:30.77 So now we go to Leviticus Chapter 4. 00:24:30.80\00:24:35.10 Am I going too fast? 00:24:35.14\00:24:37.04 No, okay. Praise the Lord. 00:24:37.07\00:24:38.61 Leviticus Chapter 4, Leviticus Chapter 4. 00:24:38.64\00:24:42.48 We're going to the Old Testament. 00:24:42.51\00:24:44.68 And this helps us understand what Jesus had to do for us. 00:24:44.71\00:24:49.65 Jesus Christ fulfilled already the part of the outer court. 00:24:49.68\00:24:54.32 He died for us on the cross. 00:24:54.36\00:24:57.13 So in Leviticus Chapter 4, 00:24:57.16\00:24:59.19 we are going to begin reading in verse 1. 00:24:59.23\00:25:02.16 And we will go all the way to verse 6. 00:25:02.20\00:25:05.23 Leviticus 4:1-6. 00:25:05.27\00:25:08.34 Are you ready? Say amen. 00:25:08.37\00:25:10.71 "And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 00:25:10.74\00:25:13.04 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, 00:25:13.07\00:25:16.01 if a soul shall sin through ignorance 00:25:16.04\00:25:19.28 against any of the commandments of the Lord 00:25:19.31\00:25:21.88 concerning things which ought not to be done, 00:25:21.92\00:25:24.39 and shall do against any of them. 00:25:24.42\00:25:28.12 If the priest that is anointed 00:25:28.16\00:25:30.13 do sin according to the sin of the people, 00:25:30.16\00:25:32.29 then let him bring for his sin, which he hath sinned, 00:25:32.33\00:25:35.23 a young bullock without blemish 00:25:35.26\00:25:37.33 unto the Lord for a sin offering." 00:25:37.37\00:25:38.93 It was without blemish. 00:25:38.97\00:25:40.50 It represented Jesus Christ without sin 00:25:40.54\00:25:44.04 because He lived a perfect life. 00:25:44.07\00:25:45.71 Let's go to verse 4, 00:25:45.74\00:25:47.24 "And he should bring the bullock 00:25:47.28\00:25:48.61 unto the door of the tabernacle 00:25:48.64\00:25:49.98 of the congregation before the Lord 00:25:50.01\00:25:51.81 and shall lay his hand upon the bullock's head, 00:25:51.85\00:25:55.65 and kill the bullock before the Lord." 00:25:55.68\00:25:57.49 Verse 5, 00:25:57.52\00:25:58.85 "And the priest that is anointed 00:25:58.89\00:26:00.86 shall take of the bullock's blood, 00:26:00.89\00:26:03.69 and bring it to the tabernacle of the congregation." 00:26:03.73\00:26:07.83 This is speaking of what? 00:26:07.86\00:26:11.40 The Holy Place, 00:26:11.43\00:26:12.83 "And the priest 00:26:12.87\00:26:14.20 shall dip his finger in the blood, 00:26:14.24\00:26:16.00 and sprinkle of the blood seven times 00:26:16.04\00:26:18.97 before the Lord, 00:26:19.01\00:26:20.34 before the veil of the sanctuary." 00:26:20.38\00:26:25.15 Before the veil of the sanctuary. 00:26:25.18\00:26:27.62 And so we see here 00:26:27.65\00:26:29.08 that this is what had to be done 00:26:29.12\00:26:31.49 in order for the sin to be atoned. 00:26:31.52\00:26:36.26 I think I would like to read to you also verse 7, 00:26:36.29\00:26:39.56 "And the priest shall put some of the blood 00:26:39.59\00:26:41.56 upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense 00:26:41.60\00:26:44.33 before the Lord." 00:26:44.37\00:26:45.70 This identifies that it is the Holy Place, 00:26:45.73\00:26:48.37 "which is in the tabernacle of the congregation 00:26:48.40\00:26:50.77 and shall pour out all the blood of the bullock 00:26:50.81\00:26:53.27 at the bottom of the altar of the burnt offering." 00:26:53.31\00:26:55.68 So now he has stepped out of the Holy Place 00:26:55.71\00:26:57.88 and gone back to the outer court 00:26:57.91\00:27:00.25 because the altar of burnt offering 00:27:00.28\00:27:03.45 was the same as the altar of sacrifice 00:27:03.49\00:27:05.62 which was in the outer court, 00:27:05.65\00:27:07.22 "which is at the door of the tabernacle 00:27:07.26\00:27:09.19 of the congregation," verse 7 ends. 00:27:09.22\00:27:11.69 So we see here a description 00:27:11.73\00:27:13.93 of what used to happen for a sinner 00:27:13.96\00:27:17.77 to have his sins forgiven. 00:27:17.80\00:27:19.80 Were his sins forgiven when this took place? 00:27:19.83\00:27:22.44 Yes or no. 00:27:22.47\00:27:23.81 Yes, his sins were forgiven. 00:27:23.84\00:27:26.11 However, there was at the end of the yearly service, 00:27:26.14\00:27:31.75 there was another day called the Day of Atonement, 00:27:31.78\00:27:35.08 which completely cleansed 00:27:35.12\00:27:39.02 the sanctuary and the individuals 00:27:39.05\00:27:41.49 and we will try to look at that, 00:27:41.52\00:27:43.59 if we have time. 00:27:43.63\00:27:44.96 So the administration of the priests 00:27:44.99\00:27:47.06 throughout the year 00:27:47.10\00:27:48.43 in the first apartment of the sanctuary 00:27:48.46\00:27:51.80 is what used to happen during the year. 00:27:51.83\00:27:54.70 Now Jesus Christ when He ascended to heaven, 00:27:54.74\00:27:59.97 He did not go to minister into the Most Holy Place. 00:28:00.01\00:28:04.81 He began His work as the common priest 00:28:04.85\00:28:07.38 in the Holy Place. 00:28:07.42\00:28:09.08 What did He do in the Holy Place? 00:28:09.12\00:28:11.79 Actually, we understand this began 00:28:11.82\00:28:13.89 when Jesus Christ ascended to heaven in the year 34, 31 AD 00:28:13.92\00:28:18.59 after He was resurrected. 00:28:18.63\00:28:21.56 He spent a few days on the earth, 00:28:21.60\00:28:23.00 and then He went to heaven. 00:28:23.03\00:28:24.57 So when He ascended up to heaven, 00:28:24.60\00:28:27.10 He began His ministry in the Holy Place. 00:28:27.14\00:28:31.37 This typified the daily service. 00:28:31.41\00:28:34.78 But there was a point in time, 00:28:34.81\00:28:37.61 just like the yearly service 00:28:37.65\00:28:39.51 and they were the Day of Atonement. 00:28:39.55\00:28:41.12 There was a point in time that Jesus had to go 00:28:41.15\00:28:43.08 from the Holy Place into the Most Holy Place. 00:28:43.12\00:28:46.92 We do not have time 00:28:46.96\00:28:48.29 to describe that whole prophecy. 00:28:48.32\00:28:50.99 This has been done on 3ABN in many programs. 00:28:51.03\00:28:54.13 There's a prophecy in Daniel 8:14, 00:28:54.16\00:28:57.50 that tells us on to 2,300 days which are equal to years, 00:28:57.53\00:29:01.94 then shall the sanctuary be cleansed. 00:29:01.97\00:29:03.64 He is talking about the heavenly sanctuary. 00:29:03.67\00:29:05.74 So there's a point in time 00:29:05.77\00:29:08.14 upon which the heavenly sanctuary 00:29:08.18\00:29:10.61 has to begin the cleansing process. 00:29:10.65\00:29:13.92 This was accomplished 00:29:13.95\00:29:15.28 by the High Priest Jesus Christ. 00:29:15.32\00:29:18.09 So Jesus Christ upon the end of the 2,300 days, 00:29:18.12\00:29:23.49 which we understand began in 1844. 00:29:23.53\00:29:29.66 Again, we do not have time to detail this. 00:29:29.70\00:29:31.33 If you need more information, contact 3ABN, 00:29:31.37\00:29:34.14 and we will send you information. 00:29:34.17\00:29:35.70 However, we need to establish Jesus Christ 00:29:35.74\00:29:37.44 as our High Priest 00:29:37.47\00:29:38.81 and in 1844 stepped into the Most Holy Place 00:29:38.84\00:29:43.11 to finish the work of cleansing the heavenly sanctuary. 00:29:43.14\00:29:47.48 If you understand that, say amen. 00:29:47.52\00:29:49.18 Amen. Good. 00:29:49.22\00:29:50.55 We have a pretty good amount of people understanding this. 00:29:50.59\00:29:53.19 So we will move on. 00:29:53.22\00:29:55.02 If you have any questions after the program is over, 00:29:55.06\00:29:56.93 we'll be glad to talk to you. 00:29:56.96\00:29:59.16 So for 18 centuries 00:29:59.19\00:30:01.16 this work of ministration continued 00:30:01.20\00:30:03.26 in the first apartment of the sanctuary. 00:30:03.30\00:30:05.50 Jesus Christ did this work, 00:30:05.53\00:30:07.14 the blood of Christ 00:30:07.17\00:30:09.00 pleaded in behalf of penitent sinners, 00:30:09.04\00:30:11.21 secure their pardon and acceptance with the Father, 00:30:11.24\00:30:14.14 yet their sins still remain upon the books of record. 00:30:14.18\00:30:18.51 Just like in the earthly sanctuary, 00:30:18.55\00:30:22.28 there was a cleansing that took place 00:30:22.32\00:30:23.65 on the Day of Atonement, 00:30:23.69\00:30:25.02 the same thing is to happen for us. 00:30:25.05\00:30:28.22 As with the typical service there was a work of atonement 00:30:28.26\00:30:30.56 at the close of the year. 00:30:30.59\00:30:31.96 So before Christ work 00:30:31.99\00:30:33.60 for the redemption of men is completed, 00:30:33.63\00:30:35.00 there is a work of atonement for the removal of sin 00:30:35.03\00:30:38.47 from the heavenly sanctuary. 00:30:38.50\00:30:41.30 This is the service that Jesus began in 1844. 00:30:41.34\00:30:46.68 And so, what are we to do with this? 00:30:46.71\00:30:50.85 In Leviticus Chapter 23, what's our responsibility? 00:30:50.88\00:30:54.42 If Jesus Christ is in the Most Holy Place, 00:30:54.45\00:30:57.95 remember we are talking about we shall be saved by His life. 00:30:57.99\00:31:00.99 His life on earth, 00:31:01.02\00:31:02.36 His perfect life that is attributed to us. 00:31:02.39\00:31:05.19 Praise the Lord for that because He lived a perfect life 00:31:05.23\00:31:08.23 that is attributed to us. 00:31:08.26\00:31:10.47 That is a gift that we get. 00:31:10.50\00:31:14.40 We receive the righteousness of Jesus Christ. 00:31:14.44\00:31:16.87 Would you say amen to that? 00:31:16.91\00:31:19.31 Okay, some people were happy about that, 00:31:19.34\00:31:20.81 but the others were not. 00:31:20.84\00:31:22.91 Would you be happy to receive the righteousness of Christ? 00:31:22.94\00:31:24.88 Yes or no? 00:31:24.91\00:31:26.25 Amen. Praise the Lord. Okay. 00:31:26.28\00:31:27.72 Maybe you didn't hear me right the first time. 00:31:27.75\00:31:29.38 In Leviticus Chapter 23. 00:31:29.42\00:31:31.85 We have a quick description. 00:31:31.89\00:31:35.36 To look at the Day of Atonement. 00:31:35.39\00:31:37.33 You can go to Leviticus Chapter 16 00:31:37.36\00:31:39.36 and Leviticus Chapter 23. 00:31:39.39\00:31:41.20 We are going to Leviticus Chapter 23 00:31:41.23\00:31:43.40 to see what the people were doing 00:31:43.43\00:31:47.44 on the Day of Atonement 00:31:47.47\00:31:49.37 while the High Priest was ministering 00:31:49.40\00:31:51.37 in the most Holy Place. 00:31:51.41\00:31:53.64 So in Leviticus Chapter 23, 00:31:53.68\00:31:55.41 I invite you to turn to Leviticus 23. 00:31:55.44\00:32:00.02 We're gonna read verses 26 through 32. 00:32:00.05\00:32:03.52 Leviticus 23:26-32. 00:32:03.55\00:32:08.02 If you found it, would you say amen? 00:32:08.06\00:32:10.56 Amen, we read. 00:32:10.59\00:32:11.93 "And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 00:32:14.76\00:32:18.73 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month 00:32:18.77\00:32:21.54 there shall be a day of atonement. 00:32:21.57\00:32:24.61 It shall be a holy convocation unto you, 00:32:24.64\00:32:27.78 and ye shall afflict your souls, 00:32:27.81\00:32:29.71 and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord." 00:32:29.74\00:32:32.78 What were the people supposed to do? 00:32:32.81\00:32:35.22 Afflict their souls. 00:32:35.25\00:32:36.95 Verse 28, it was so important. 00:32:36.99\00:32:40.19 That verse 28 tells us, 00:32:40.22\00:32:43.32 "And ye shall do no work in that same day, 00:32:43.36\00:32:46.96 for it is a day of atonement, 00:32:47.00\00:32:48.43 to make an atonement for you before the Lord your God. 00:32:48.46\00:32:54.40 For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted 00:32:54.44\00:32:58.01 in that same day, 00:32:58.04\00:32:59.41 he shall be cut off from among his people." 00:32:59.44\00:33:02.81 Verse 30. 00:33:02.84\00:33:04.18 "And whatsoever soul it be that doeth any work 00:33:04.21\00:33:06.55 in that same day, 00:33:06.58\00:33:07.92 the same soul so I destroy, 00:33:07.95\00:33:10.29 will I destroy from among his people. 00:33:10.32\00:33:12.39 Ye shall do no manner of work it should be a statute for ever 00:33:12.42\00:33:15.72 throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 00:33:15.76\00:33:18.59 It shall be unto you a Sabbath of rest, 00:33:18.63\00:33:21.10 and ye shall afflict your souls 00:33:21.13\00:33:23.06 in the ninth day of the month at even, and from evening, 00:33:23.10\00:33:27.67 or from even to even or evening to evening, 00:33:27.70\00:33:29.60 shall ye celebrate your Sabbath." 00:33:29.64\00:33:32.51 So we see here in these verses that we read, 00:33:32.54\00:33:36.88 while the Day of Atonement was taking place, 00:33:36.91\00:33:39.91 the people were outside while the High Priest 00:33:39.95\00:33:43.18 was inside the Holy Place ministry. 00:33:43.22\00:33:46.89 And while this was taking place, 00:33:46.92\00:33:48.26 the people were outside afflicting their souls. 00:33:48.29\00:33:50.39 Now, what does it mean 00:33:50.43\00:33:51.76 that they were afflicting their souls? 00:33:51.79\00:33:53.33 They were in prayer and in meditation 00:33:53.36\00:33:57.33 and turning their lives over to the Lord. 00:33:57.37\00:34:00.87 Because now the High Priest is doing a work 00:34:00.90\00:34:04.01 of cleansing of the sanctuary. 00:34:04.04\00:34:06.41 And all of the sins, 00:34:06.44\00:34:07.78 we do not have time to describe 00:34:07.81\00:34:09.14 all that took place on that day, 00:34:09.18\00:34:10.51 and all of the sins, 00:34:10.55\00:34:12.15 after he's completed this work inside the Most Holy Place, 00:34:12.18\00:34:15.35 he comes out and all the sins of the people are confessed 00:34:15.38\00:34:19.25 upon an animal called the scapegoat. 00:34:19.29\00:34:22.02 And to complete the process of cleansing the sanctuary. 00:34:22.06\00:34:27.90 Jesus Christ in the same manner 00:34:27.93\00:34:30.53 have to do the work in the Most Holy Place. 00:34:30.57\00:34:34.30 So we are living, 00:34:34.34\00:34:36.91 you and I are living in the real Day of Atonement. 00:34:36.94\00:34:41.81 That was a symbol of what was to take place 00:34:41.84\00:34:45.01 on behalf of those that love the Lord. 00:34:45.05\00:34:47.85 Now who received the blessing of forgiveness of sins 00:34:47.88\00:34:51.85 on the Day of Atonement? 00:34:51.89\00:34:54.19 Those that have confessed their sins. 00:34:54.22\00:34:57.69 What if you did not confess your sins? 00:34:57.73\00:34:59.19 You do not receive the blessing of having your sins cleansed. 00:34:59.23\00:35:04.00 So remember, that we read also that it was a day of rest. 00:35:04.03\00:35:08.90 In other words, anyone that took it lightly, 00:35:08.94\00:35:11.74 and went about their regular business, 00:35:11.77\00:35:14.44 and worked on too busy, I have to put this together, 00:35:14.48\00:35:18.48 the wheels of my chariot fell, and I have to put it together. 00:35:18.51\00:35:21.88 No, it was the Day of Atonement. 00:35:21.92\00:35:24.19 It was the day when cleansing was taking place. 00:35:24.22\00:35:26.86 And that person was supposed to be 00:35:26.89\00:35:28.62 with the rest of the people afflicting his soul. 00:35:28.66\00:35:30.86 Oh, Lord, please have mercy upon us in prayer 00:35:30.89\00:35:34.30 until the work is completed. 00:35:34.33\00:35:36.56 In other words, 00:35:36.60\00:35:37.93 the people that were there afflicting their souls 00:35:37.97\00:35:39.97 were not doing what? 00:35:40.00\00:35:41.80 Sinning. Why? 00:35:41.84\00:35:43.81 Because they were in communion with God. 00:35:43.84\00:35:46.91 And it says here that anyone 00:35:46.94\00:35:49.64 that did not afflict their soul, 00:35:49.68\00:35:51.25 they were just going to be cut off 00:35:51.28\00:35:53.65 because God did not want sin in the camp. 00:35:53.68\00:35:56.75 And so we see here that it is a special time 00:35:56.79\00:35:59.85 that we are living in. 00:35:59.89\00:36:01.42 It was a time 00:36:01.46\00:36:02.79 when the people during the Day of Atonement 00:36:02.82\00:36:04.49 they were putting away sin. 00:36:04.53\00:36:05.86 They were distancing themselves from the works of evil 00:36:05.89\00:36:09.20 that they had done. 00:36:09.23\00:36:10.57 They were asking God to have mercy upon them 00:36:10.60\00:36:12.80 and cleanse them. 00:36:12.83\00:36:14.34 So for them in those days 00:36:14.37\00:36:19.31 when they saw the High Priest come out, 00:36:19.34\00:36:22.61 and when they saw the High Priest, 00:36:22.64\00:36:24.85 put his hands on the scapegoat 00:36:24.88\00:36:27.08 and confess the sins of the people. 00:36:27.12\00:36:28.78 Now remember, the scapegoat was not a sacrifice for sins. 00:36:28.82\00:36:33.62 The scapegoat was not a sacrifice for sin. 00:36:33.66\00:36:36.52 I'll say one more time, 00:36:36.56\00:36:37.89 the scapegoat was not a sacrifice for sin 00:36:37.93\00:36:39.89 because that had already been done. 00:36:39.93\00:36:44.10 There's a whole, 00:36:44.13\00:36:45.47 there's, there are services that take place, 00:36:45.50\00:36:46.94 there was another goat that will sacrifice 00:36:46.97\00:36:49.90 and there were other animals 00:36:49.94\00:36:51.27 that were sacrificed for the forgiveness of sins 00:36:51.31\00:36:54.64 to make atonement for the people. 00:36:54.68\00:36:56.18 Even the priest, 00:36:56.21\00:36:57.55 even the priest had to offer a sacrifice 00:36:57.58\00:36:59.48 before he went in there because he was gonna go in 00:36:59.51\00:37:01.22 the very presence of God. 00:37:01.25\00:37:03.49 If you understand me, say amen. 00:37:03.52\00:37:05.72 Amen. 00:37:05.75\00:37:07.09 So when the people saw the High Priest come out, 00:37:07.12\00:37:10.93 put his hands on the scapegoat, 00:37:10.96\00:37:12.53 confess the sins on the scapegoat. 00:37:12.56\00:37:15.03 And then a righteous man will leave that scapegoat 00:37:15.06\00:37:17.57 out of the camp, there was great rejoicing, 00:37:17.60\00:37:20.44 there was great relief, 00:37:20.47\00:37:22.07 because it meant their sin was now being separated 00:37:22.10\00:37:25.44 from them. 00:37:25.47\00:37:27.38 It was a symbolic meaning that the time will come 00:37:27.41\00:37:31.45 when God would clean the records of heaven, 00:37:31.48\00:37:34.82 of all sins that have been confessed. 00:37:34.85\00:37:37.29 And people that had asked God for forgiveness 00:37:37.32\00:37:41.42 had their cleansing secured, their purification secured, 00:37:41.46\00:37:46.66 and I praise the Lord for that. 00:37:46.70\00:37:48.56 This is what Jesus is going to do. 00:37:48.60\00:37:50.83 And He's working in the heavenly sanctuary. 00:37:50.87\00:37:53.80 We are living in a time 00:37:53.84\00:37:55.17 that corresponds to the real Day of Atonement. 00:37:55.20\00:37:58.54 And it's a time when God's people 00:37:58.57\00:38:00.68 are to be putting away sin. 00:38:00.71\00:38:03.75 Stop doing the works of darkness 00:38:03.78\00:38:05.35 and start doing the works of righteousness and light. 00:38:05.38\00:38:09.35 Please join me in Romans Chapter 12. 00:38:09.38\00:38:11.92 Romans Chapter 12. 00:38:11.95\00:38:15.32 In Romans Chapter 12, 00:38:15.36\00:38:17.19 it outlines the work 00:38:17.23\00:38:18.73 that we are to be doing at this time. 00:38:18.76\00:38:23.23 Satan is working hard to destroy God's people. 00:38:23.26\00:38:25.73 The Bible says that, "He, as a roaring lion, 00:38:25.77\00:38:28.34 seeking whom he may," what? 00:38:28.37\00:38:30.81 "Devour." 00:38:30.84\00:38:32.21 And so I encourage you to stay close to Jesus 00:38:32.24\00:38:34.48 so that you are not devoured. 00:38:34.51\00:38:35.84 Romans Chapter 12. 00:38:35.88\00:38:37.21 We're gonna read verse 1 and 2, 00:38:37.25\00:38:38.81 "Thus it is written, 00:38:38.85\00:38:40.18 'I beseech you therefore, brethren, 00:38:40.22\00:38:42.85 by the mercies of God, 00:38:42.88\00:38:44.79 that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, 00:38:44.82\00:38:49.29 holy, acceptable unto God, 00:38:49.32\00:38:51.66 which is your reasonable service.' 00:38:51.69\00:38:54.06 " In other words, the very least you could do. 00:38:54.10\00:38:56.10 "And be not conformed to this world, 00:38:56.13\00:38:58.77 but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, 00:38:58.80\00:39:02.57 that ye may prove what is that good, 00:39:02.60\00:39:04.81 and acceptable, and perfect will of God." 00:39:04.84\00:39:08.64 Would you say amen to that? 00:39:08.68\00:39:10.78 See here that the Apostle Paul is asking us 00:39:10.81\00:39:12.98 to present our bodies as a living sacrifice. 00:39:13.01\00:39:15.85 What does he mean by that? 00:39:15.88\00:39:17.49 That means we are to put away things 00:39:17.52\00:39:20.02 that will harm our bodies. 00:39:20.06\00:39:21.52 The Bible tells us 00:39:21.56\00:39:22.89 that our body is the temple of what? 00:39:22.92\00:39:24.96 The Holy Spirit. 00:39:24.99\00:39:26.33 So anything that would hurt the temple of God, 00:39:26.36\00:39:28.86 we should be putting those things away. 00:39:28.90\00:39:31.23 And this involves anything that you might drink or eat, 00:39:31.27\00:39:35.64 they may do harm to your body. 00:39:35.67\00:39:38.04 And so we do not really have to say too much about that 00:39:38.07\00:39:41.21 because most people know that if I eat this, 00:39:41.24\00:39:44.21 I'm gonna get sick. 00:39:44.25\00:39:45.58 If I eat a lot of that, I will get sick. 00:39:45.61\00:39:47.48 If I drink a lot of this, I will get sick. 00:39:47.52\00:39:50.39 And if I take in drugs, or cigarette smoking, 00:39:50.42\00:39:54.12 or any type of other smoking is gonna do harm to your body. 00:39:54.16\00:39:58.76 It's time to put those things away, 00:39:58.79\00:40:00.93 and follow the Lord with all of our hearts. 00:40:00.96\00:40:02.76 And so this is what Paul is telling us 00:40:02.80\00:40:04.53 that we should present our bodies 00:40:04.57\00:40:06.30 as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God. 00:40:06.33\00:40:11.34 Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. 00:40:11.37\00:40:14.18 In addition to that, 00:40:14.21\00:40:15.54 I want to point out Chapter 12 verse 2, 00:40:15.58\00:40:20.12 that we are not to be conformed to this world, 00:40:20.15\00:40:22.32 but we are to be what? 00:40:22.35\00:40:23.69 Transformed. 00:40:23.72\00:40:25.95 What does God want us to do? 00:40:25.99\00:40:28.22 Become transformed. 00:40:28.26\00:40:30.13 And it is not something 00:40:30.16\00:40:31.49 that He's asking us to do on our own. 00:40:31.53\00:40:33.53 What God asks us to do, 00:40:33.56\00:40:35.03 He's willing to give us all the help that we need. 00:40:35.06\00:40:37.90 And I praise the Lord for that 00:40:37.93\00:40:39.27 because I know 00:40:39.30\00:40:40.64 I am one of those that when Jesus says, 00:40:40.67\00:40:42.84 without me, you can do nothing. 00:40:42.87\00:40:44.21 I know that without Jesus, I can do nothing. 00:40:44.24\00:40:47.01 But I know that with Him all things are possible. 00:40:47.04\00:40:49.18 So it says that we are to be transformed 00:40:49.21\00:40:52.08 by the renewing of your mind. 00:40:52.11\00:40:53.95 It is very interesting. 00:40:53.98\00:40:55.32 One of the things I like to do 00:40:55.35\00:40:56.69 is research how the mind works 00:40:56.72\00:40:58.89 and, yes, I have heard that the mind is, 00:40:58.92\00:41:04.83 they say that the mind is, has plasticity. 00:41:04.86\00:41:07.60 In other words, the mind can be molded. 00:41:07.63\00:41:11.33 Can you imagine that, that the mind could be molded? 00:41:11.37\00:41:15.80 By the things you say, the things you do, 00:41:15.84\00:41:18.31 by the habits you take, your mind can be molded, 00:41:18.34\00:41:20.94 you can create habits, 00:41:20.98\00:41:23.04 by, of course, doing them over and over again. 00:41:23.08\00:41:25.05 And as a matter of fact, if you have a bad habit, 00:41:25.08\00:41:27.82 the Bible says that your mind can be transformed 00:41:27.85\00:41:33.49 by the renewing of our minds. 00:41:33.52\00:41:35.76 And so this is a work that God does in us. 00:41:35.79\00:41:39.06 And we are to cooperate with Him. 00:41:39.09\00:41:42.86 When God says, "Put away sin," he doesn't do it for you. 00:41:42.90\00:41:46.10 You must choose to cooperate with God 00:41:46.13\00:41:48.67 to put those things away. 00:41:48.70\00:41:50.27 Because there are things that God will not do for us 00:41:50.31\00:41:54.34 that we must cooperate with Him in doing. 00:41:54.38\00:41:57.31 If the Bible says, that do not kill. 00:41:57.35\00:42:02.58 Is the Lord not gonna kill for you. 00:42:02.62\00:42:04.55 You must choose to cooperate the Lord so you do not kill. 00:42:04.59\00:42:07.26 You must choose to cooperate the Lord so you do not steal. 00:42:07.29\00:42:10.29 And so God gives us the power, would you say amen to that? 00:42:10.33\00:42:14.70 I want to encourage you 00:42:14.73\00:42:16.10 to join me now in 1 John 3:1. 00:42:16.13\00:42:23.04 1 John 3:1. 00:42:23.07\00:42:26.04 There are so many wonderful scriptures. 00:42:29.11\00:42:32.65 And this is one of my favorites. 00:42:32.68\00:42:34.75 1 John 3:1. 00:42:34.78\00:42:38.95 If you found it, would you say amen? 00:42:38.99\00:42:41.52 I think let's read verse 1. 00:42:41.56\00:42:44.69 "Behold, what manner of love 00:42:44.73\00:42:48.10 the Father has bestowed upon us, 00:42:48.13\00:42:50.50 that we should be called the sons of God, 00:42:50.53\00:42:53.23 therefore the world knows us not, 00:42:53.27\00:42:55.44 because it knew him not." 00:42:55.47\00:42:57.54 I want to stop there for a moment 00:42:57.57\00:42:59.44 because we're gonna read unto verse 3. 00:42:59.47\00:43:01.74 But this verse 1 00:43:01.78\00:43:05.21 is something that we need to consider. 00:43:05.25\00:43:07.82 Verse 1, it says, "Behold, what manner of love," 00:43:07.85\00:43:11.09 I like it to look at the word behold as in looking, 00:43:11.12\00:43:16.76 and studying, and contemplating upon. 00:43:16.79\00:43:21.90 And so here we are being invited to contemplate 00:43:21.93\00:43:24.57 the love of God. 00:43:24.60\00:43:25.93 And John is saying, 00:43:25.97\00:43:27.30 "Behold, what manner of God 00:43:27.34\00:43:28.67 of love the Father has bestowed upon us, 00:43:28.70\00:43:32.04 that we should be called the sons of God." 00:43:32.07\00:43:34.58 Remember that we were enemies, 00:43:34.61\00:43:38.48 reconciled by the death of Jesus Christ, 00:43:38.51\00:43:41.88 and we become sons and daughters of God. 00:43:41.92\00:43:46.25 It's interesting, sometimes people say, 00:43:46.29\00:43:48.09 "Oh, I hope the Lord accepts me." 00:43:48.12\00:43:51.36 And this is done in sincerity. 00:43:51.39\00:43:53.60 I hope the Lord accepts me but I am so sinful. 00:43:53.63\00:43:56.87 Well, I have good news. 00:43:56.90\00:43:58.23 The Bible says in John Chapter 1, 00:43:58.27\00:44:00.84 we read that as many as received Him, 00:44:00.87\00:44:05.14 to them gave He power to become children of God, 00:44:05.17\00:44:08.91 sons of God. 00:44:08.94\00:44:10.28 And so it is Him saying, 00:44:10.31\00:44:15.55 accept me as your Savior. 00:44:15.58\00:44:17.79 Would you accept Me as your Savior? 00:44:17.82\00:44:19.65 I want to save you, and our part is to say, 00:44:19.69\00:44:22.16 "Oh, yes, Lord, please save me." 00:44:22.19\00:44:24.56 I accept this gift 00:44:24.59\00:44:26.29 that You want to give me of salvation. 00:44:26.33\00:44:28.70 I dare say this. 00:44:28.73\00:44:31.37 If you sincerely want to be saved, 00:44:31.40\00:44:36.91 you will be saved. 00:44:36.94\00:44:38.61 If you sincerely want to be saved, 00:44:38.64\00:44:40.84 you will be saved. 00:44:40.88\00:44:42.21 And I like to underline, underscore the word sincerely. 00:44:42.24\00:44:45.78 Because those that sincerely want to be saved, 00:44:45.81\00:44:48.72 are going to cooperate with God in the process of salvation. 00:44:48.75\00:44:52.39 If you sincerely want to be saved, 00:44:52.42\00:44:54.82 you cannot be lost 00:44:54.86\00:44:56.36 because God will do what it takes to save you. 00:44:56.39\00:45:00.90 And I thank the Lord for that. 00:45:00.93\00:45:03.37 Let's go to verse 2, 1 John 3:2. 00:45:03.40\00:45:07.94 "Beloved, now are we the sons of God," 00:45:07.97\00:45:10.94 when are we the sons of God? 00:45:10.97\00:45:12.57 Now. 00:45:12.61\00:45:13.94 "And it doth not yet appear what we shall be, 00:45:13.98\00:45:17.08 but we know that, when he shall appear, 00:45:17.11\00:45:20.08 we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is." 00:45:20.12\00:45:25.49 Oh, I like that. 00:45:25.52\00:45:27.12 Verse 3, "And every man and woman, 00:45:27.16\00:45:30.43 and that hath this hope in Him purifieth himself, 00:45:30.46\00:45:35.06 even as He is pure." 00:45:35.10\00:45:37.73 So once again, in this scripture, 00:45:37.77\00:45:39.10 we see that there's something for the individual to do. 00:45:39.13\00:45:41.67 Every person that has this hope in Him, 00:45:41.70\00:45:45.21 purifies himself, 00:45:45.24\00:45:46.57 that means we put away things that will lead us to sin, 00:45:46.61\00:45:51.01 and we follow Jesus. 00:45:51.05\00:45:52.45 But the first thing 00:45:52.48\00:45:53.82 that God does as we read this verse, 00:45:53.85\00:45:55.18 it says, "Behold, what manner of love 00:45:55.22\00:45:58.35 the Father has bestowed upon us." 00:45:58.39\00:46:00.29 So that's the first part in this process, 00:46:00.32\00:46:02.39 behold this manner of love. 00:46:02.42\00:46:03.76 And as you behold the love of God for you, 00:46:03.79\00:46:07.36 you are gonna be moved. 00:46:07.40\00:46:10.20 You're gonna be in love with God, thankful, grateful. 00:46:10.23\00:46:14.87 And you're gonna say, "Wow, God is so good." 00:46:14.90\00:46:18.07 And then the other part will become a reality. 00:46:18.11\00:46:22.81 By His grace, you will purify yourself 00:46:22.84\00:46:26.41 because God does this work in you. 00:46:26.45\00:46:28.72 Amen. 00:46:28.75\00:46:30.09 Amen. 00:46:30.12\00:46:31.45 Now let us go quickly to 2 Corinthians Chapter 7. 00:46:31.49\00:46:35.69 2 Corinthians Chapter 7. 00:46:35.72\00:46:39.76 In 2 Corinthians Chapter 7, 00:46:39.79\00:46:43.43 I want to encourage you to read and follow along. 00:46:43.47\00:46:47.47 We're gonna read verse 1, 2 Corinthians Chapter 7:1. 00:46:47.50\00:46:50.91 If you're ready say amen. 00:46:50.94\00:46:53.01 Amen. 00:46:53.04\00:46:54.48 "Having therefore these promises, 00:46:54.51\00:46:56.41 dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves 00:46:56.44\00:47:02.02 from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, 00:47:02.05\00:47:05.75 perfecting holiness in the fear of God." 00:47:05.79\00:47:11.66 Amen. 00:47:11.69\00:47:13.03 Amen. 00:47:13.06\00:47:14.40 So I just praise the Lord, that for the scriptures. 00:47:14.43\00:47:20.10 The scriptures tell us 00:47:20.14\00:47:21.74 that we are to cleanse ourselves 00:47:21.77\00:47:24.57 from all filthiness of the flesh. 00:47:24.61\00:47:29.01 I would like to point out a verse 00:47:29.04\00:47:33.52 that I do not have in my notes, 00:47:33.55\00:47:34.88 but it came to mind right now. 00:47:34.92\00:47:36.72 And so I want to bring it out to you 00:47:36.75\00:47:38.69 because sometimes people see this 00:47:38.72\00:47:40.26 as something a little bit odd. 00:47:40.29\00:47:42.59 I don't know if I can find it this quick here. 00:47:42.62\00:47:44.49 All right, I think we can. 00:47:48.20\00:47:50.93 We have here a quick method of searching, 00:47:50.97\00:47:53.74 Philippians 2:12. 00:47:53.77\00:47:55.94 In Philippians 2:12 notice how it is written here. 00:47:55.97\00:48:00.94 This won't go on the screen, 00:48:00.98\00:48:04.01 the reference but I'm mentioning Philippians 2:12. 00:48:04.05\00:48:07.35 Notice what it says here. 00:48:07.38\00:48:08.98 "Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, 00:48:09.02\00:48:14.82 not as in my presence only, 00:48:14.86\00:48:16.46 but now much more in my absence." 00:48:16.49\00:48:18.16 In other words, 00:48:18.19\00:48:19.53 they were not just doing it because he was there. 00:48:19.56\00:48:21.26 It says, "Work out your own salvation 00:48:21.30\00:48:25.10 with fear and trembling." 00:48:25.13\00:48:27.47 We are to work out our own salvation how? 00:48:27.50\00:48:30.97 With fear and trembling. 00:48:31.01\00:48:33.11 Why with fear and trembling? 00:48:33.14\00:48:36.68 Because we are vacillating individuals, aren't we? 00:48:36.71\00:48:40.82 Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 00:48:40.85\00:48:44.25 It's not that you doubt on the Lord, 00:48:44.29\00:48:46.09 it's that you doubt this trust self. 00:48:46.12\00:48:49.59 Trust in the Lord the Bible says 00:48:49.62\00:48:50.96 with all of your heart 00:48:50.99\00:48:52.33 and lean not upon your own understanding, 00:48:52.36\00:48:53.80 in all your ways acknowledge Him, 00:48:53.83\00:48:55.53 and He shall bring it to pass. 00:48:55.56\00:48:58.10 Amen. 00:51:31.45\00:51:32.79 Amen. 00:51:32.82\00:51:34.16 So we see that Christ is in the heavenly sanctuary. 00:51:34.19\00:51:38.93 They're ministering for us. 00:51:38.96\00:51:40.96 There He's in the presence of God, 00:51:41.00\00:51:43.16 doing a work that we cannot do. 00:51:43.20\00:51:45.80 And I want to tell you, that Jesus Christ... 00:51:45.83\00:51:50.27 God loves us with a love that we cannot even imagine, 00:51:50.31\00:51:54.61 to think that He would come to this earth and face life, 00:51:54.64\00:51:59.95 such as we face it. 00:51:59.98\00:52:01.48 I don't know, 00:52:01.52\00:52:03.18 if you can look back in your life and say, 00:52:03.22\00:52:05.22 I know some people are saying, "I'm tired of this life." 00:52:05.25\00:52:08.19 And Jesus faced life such as we had to face it, 00:52:08.22\00:52:11.63 face temptation such as we have to face it. 00:52:11.66\00:52:14.86 And by the grace of God, 00:52:14.90\00:52:17.77 by the power that comes from God, 00:52:17.80\00:52:19.93 He was victorious and became a perfect sacrifice 00:52:19.97\00:52:23.84 to work out our salvation. 00:52:23.87\00:52:26.51 But now, 00:52:26.54\00:52:28.24 I encourage you to join me in this scripture 00:52:28.28\00:52:31.48 to consider it, 00:52:31.51\00:52:32.88 because it is a powerful scripture. 00:52:32.91\00:52:34.52 We're talking about Colossians Chapter 1, 00:52:34.55\00:52:37.12 Colossians Chapter 1. 00:52:37.15\00:52:38.79 God does not ask us to do things 00:52:38.82\00:52:41.32 for which He does not provide power to do. 00:52:41.36\00:52:44.66 So I... 00:52:44.69\00:52:47.36 Now I'm in Colossians Chapter 1. 00:52:47.40\00:52:49.30 I'm going to read verse 27. 00:52:49.33\00:52:51.67 Notice, "To whom God would make known 00:52:51.70\00:52:56.84 what is the riches of the glory 00:52:56.87\00:52:58.81 of this mystery among the Gentiles, 00:52:58.84\00:53:01.31 which is Christ in you, the hope of...?" 00:53:01.34\00:53:04.78 Glory. "Glory." 00:53:04.81\00:53:06.15 Christ where? 00:53:06.18\00:53:07.78 In you, in me, in us. 00:53:07.82\00:53:10.25 That is the hope of glory. 00:53:10.29\00:53:12.55 And how does that happen? 00:53:12.59\00:53:16.02 How does that happen? 00:53:16.06\00:53:17.39 Jesus said, "If any man will come after Me, 00:53:17.43\00:53:18.99 let him take up his cross daily and come after Me." 00:53:19.03\00:53:22.33 Let's look at another scripture that helps us consider this. 00:53:22.36\00:53:27.87 Now moving to Galatians. 00:53:27.90\00:53:29.44 It is a couple of books before. 00:53:29.47\00:53:32.14 Galatians 2:20, Galatians 2:20, we're running out of time. 00:53:32.17\00:53:38.21 Galatians 2:20. 00:53:38.25\00:53:40.05 The Bible tells us, "I," this is Paul speaking, 00:53:40.08\00:53:43.08 "I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, 00:53:43.12\00:53:48.39 but Christ lives in me." 00:53:48.42\00:53:50.36 Where does Paul say that Christ lives? 00:53:50.39\00:53:53.19 In him, and in me, in you. 00:53:53.23\00:53:55.96 "And the life which I now live in the flesh, 00:53:56.00\00:53:59.27 I live by the faith of the Son of God," 00:53:59.30\00:54:02.37 by whose faith? 00:54:02.40\00:54:05.04 He's not living by his own faith, 00:54:05.07\00:54:06.74 he's living by the faith of the Son of God, 00:54:06.78\00:54:09.28 "who loved me and gave Himself for me." 00:54:09.31\00:54:12.45 By whose faith did the Apostle Paul lived? 00:54:12.48\00:54:16.22 Not by his own faith, 00:54:16.25\00:54:18.29 but by the faith of the Son of God, 00:54:18.32\00:54:20.92 that is another study. 00:54:20.96\00:54:23.29 But for now, accept this as it is written. 00:54:23.32\00:54:27.36 "Let us live our lives not by our own faith 00:54:27.40\00:54:30.37 but by the faith of the Son of God." 00:54:30.40\00:54:32.23 And it says, "He loved me and gave Himself for us." 00:54:32.27\00:54:36.60 Brothers and sisters, 00:54:36.64\00:54:38.67 Jesus is calling upon us 00:54:38.71\00:54:42.21 to give ourselves entirely to Him. 00:54:42.24\00:54:44.85 And it's time we are living now, 00:54:44.88\00:54:47.18 it is the real Day of Atonement, 00:54:47.22\00:54:50.89 the time when Atonement is being made 00:54:50.92\00:54:53.52 for our salvation. 00:54:53.56\00:54:54.89 The blood of Jesus Christ 00:54:54.92\00:54:56.73 is gonna cleanse every individual 00:54:56.76\00:55:00.33 that appeals to God for cleansing from sin. 00:55:00.36\00:55:04.07 The Bible tells us that if we confess our sins, 00:55:04.10\00:55:08.60 He, God is faithful, to forgive us for our sins, 00:55:08.64\00:55:12.37 and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 00:55:12.41\00:55:15.64 In order for your sins to be forgiven, 00:55:15.68\00:55:17.68 you must confess it to God. 00:55:17.71\00:55:20.38 Join me please. 00:55:20.42\00:55:22.52 We're gonna look at another scripture 00:55:22.55\00:55:24.19 in a moment. 00:55:24.22\00:55:27.06 Revelation 3:20, 00:55:27.09\00:55:30.06 we're talking 00:55:30.09\00:55:31.43 about Jesus Christ living in us. 00:55:31.46\00:55:34.16 Revelation 3:20, 00:55:34.20\00:55:39.77 let us read it. 00:55:39.80\00:55:41.64 Thus it is written, 00:55:41.67\00:55:44.07 "Behold, I stand at the door and knock, 00:55:44.11\00:55:48.68 if any man hear my voice, and open the door, 00:55:48.71\00:55:51.88 I will come into him and will sup with him, 00:55:51.91\00:55:55.12 and he with me." 00:55:55.15\00:55:56.99 Where does Christ want to be? 00:55:57.02\00:55:59.69 In us. 00:55:59.72\00:56:01.92 And where's Christ said to be standing? 00:56:01.96\00:56:04.36 At the door of my heart, and He is knocking. 00:56:04.39\00:56:09.00 Who opens the door? 00:56:09.03\00:56:10.93 We open the door. 00:56:10.97\00:56:12.53 And if we open the door, He will come in and be with us. 00:56:12.57\00:56:17.01 And it says, sup with him. 00:56:17.04\00:56:21.04 This word about having supper with him, 00:56:21.08\00:56:25.15 it's an idea in the ancient times 00:56:25.18\00:56:27.42 of having a time of communion together. 00:56:27.45\00:56:30.19 This is what you did with people 00:56:30.22\00:56:32.45 that you were interesting in having a relationship with. 00:56:32.49\00:56:35.02 And so Jesus is saying, 00:56:35.06\00:56:36.62 "I will come into him 00:56:36.66\00:56:37.99 and sup with him and he with Me." 00:56:38.03\00:56:41.40 You know, in the book, 00:56:41.43\00:56:43.26 Steps to Christ is a sad statement. 00:56:43.30\00:56:47.47 I would like to read it to you, 00:56:47.50\00:56:49.70 Steps to Christ, 47, page 47, 00:56:49.74\00:56:53.94 it's a book written by Ellen G. white. 00:56:53.98\00:56:55.41 But it's sad 00:56:55.44\00:56:56.78 because people have the opportunity for salvation, 00:56:56.81\00:56:59.45 but notice what it says here. 00:56:59.48\00:57:01.48 "Many will be lost while hoping and desiring to be Christians." 00:57:01.52\00:57:07.32 Can you imagine that? 00:57:07.36\00:57:08.72 They hope and desire to be Christians. 00:57:08.76\00:57:12.93 Why don't they be? 00:57:12.96\00:57:14.30 Why aren't they saved? 00:57:14.33\00:57:16.23 "They do not come to the point of yielding the will to God. 00:57:16.26\00:57:21.60 They do not choose to be Christians." 00:57:21.64\00:57:24.67 So there's a difference between desiring, hoping 00:57:24.71\00:57:28.11 and making the choice to become a Christian. 00:57:28.14\00:57:30.95 Jesus is knocking at the door, and He's saying, 00:57:30.98\00:57:34.45 open the door, and I will come in. 00:57:34.48\00:57:37.49 And Jesus Christ is in the heavenly sanctuary, 00:57:37.52\00:57:40.56 and by His life, we are going to be saved, 00:57:40.59\00:57:45.39 reconciled by the death of Jesus Christ, 00:57:45.43\00:57:47.73 but we shall be saved by His life, 00:57:47.76\00:57:49.50 His perfect life He lived on this earth 00:57:49.53\00:57:52.73 and His life of ministry in heaven. 00:57:52.77\00:57:55.07 So I want to encourage you to continue reading the Bible. 00:57:55.10\00:57:57.81 And as Pastor Lomacang says, 00:57:57.84\00:58:00.04 you will see that as you study the Bible, 00:58:00.08\00:58:01.91 you will have A Sharper Focus. 00:58:01.94\00:58:03.71
