00:04:31.17\00:04:32.73 He plunged us to victory beneath the cleansing flood 00:04:32.77\00:04:36.64 and that flood is His blood 00:04:36.67\00:04:38.94 that not only washes away our sins, 00:04:38.97\00:04:41.78 but sets us in a right condition 00:04:41.81\00:04:44.61 before our Lord. 00:04:44.65\00:04:46.95 Once again, if you like a copy of the lesson, 00:04:46.98\00:04:48.52 go to the website asf.3abn.org. 00:04:48.55\00:04:52.15 If you're just joining us and download lesson number 28, 00:04:52.19\00:04:56.19 The Truth about the Judgment. 00:04:56.22\00:04:59.43 Now let me begin to lay some foundation 00:04:59.46\00:05:01.30 about the topic of the judgment. 00:05:01.33\00:05:04.13 I'll begin with the story. 00:05:04.17\00:05:06.23 When I was in high school in Brooklyn, New York, 00:05:06.27\00:05:09.20 I went to a high school 00:05:09.24\00:05:10.87 called James Madison High School. 00:05:10.91\00:05:14.24 I was there all four years 00:05:14.28\00:05:16.85 but there was a particular young man 00:05:16.88\00:05:18.21 that was in that school, 00:05:18.25\00:05:19.78 my wife has heard this story before, 00:05:19.81\00:05:21.92 and I won't mention his name on the air 00:05:21.95\00:05:23.55 because he might be watching 00:05:23.59\00:05:25.19 in the event that he is but, 00:05:25.22\00:05:27.56 he had been in high school for, 00:05:27.59\00:05:30.76 you're only supposed to be there four years 00:05:30.79\00:05:32.89 but he was in high school at this time, five years 00:05:32.93\00:05:36.43 and he was on the football team. 00:05:36.46\00:05:38.57 Well, the standard to get out of high school, 00:05:38.60\00:05:40.30 at least in my school, 00:05:40.34\00:05:41.67 you had to pass world history. 00:05:41.70\00:05:44.67 If you did not pass world history 00:05:44.71\00:05:46.68 and didn't pass it during the summer, 00:05:46.71\00:05:48.58 then you're going to repeat that again the next year. 00:05:48.61\00:05:51.61 Well, I'll use his first name because that's not telling, 00:05:51.65\00:05:56.82 his name was Kelly. 00:05:56.85\00:05:58.19 He was on the football team. 00:05:58.22\00:05:59.69 I won't tell you the year so we won't be too specific. 00:05:59.72\00:06:02.69 But I remember 00:06:02.72\00:06:05.46 the sixth year that he was in, 00:06:05.49\00:06:09.20 he was in the 12th grade three years. 00:06:09.23\00:06:11.57 He was in the 12th grade, the fourth year, 00:06:11.60\00:06:13.37 the fifth year, and the sixth year, 00:06:13.40\00:06:15.74 and the coach told him, 00:06:15.77\00:06:18.17 he said, "Kelly, if you're in this school one more year 00:06:18.21\00:06:21.51 we're going to make you the janitor." 00:06:21.54\00:06:25.31 Now follow this, in order to get out of the 12th grade, 00:06:25.35\00:06:28.38 you had to pass, what subjects did I say? 00:06:28.42\00:06:30.89 World history. 00:06:30.92\00:06:32.45 Well, you don't get your passing grade 00:06:32.49\00:06:35.39 until the final test. 00:06:35.42\00:06:36.99 Remember that, 00:06:37.03\00:06:38.36 that's very important to the subject. 00:06:38.39\00:06:40.00 When the test is over and you pass, 00:06:40.03\00:06:43.23 then you can go on 00:06:43.26\00:06:44.63 or if you don't pass then you have to repeat. 00:06:44.67\00:06:47.54 Well, the grades were posted on the homeroom 00:06:47.57\00:06:50.54 of each of the people, 00:06:50.57\00:06:52.37 wherever your homeroom was located. 00:06:52.41\00:06:54.01 Mine was on the fourth floor. 00:06:54.04\00:06:55.64 Kelly's was on the fourth floor, 00:06:55.68\00:06:57.25 and they posted the grades right outside of the classroom 00:06:57.28\00:06:59.81 on the wall. 00:06:59.85\00:07:01.18 Well, needless to say, 00:07:01.22\00:07:02.88 as people are walking up to the classroom, 00:07:02.92\00:07:04.99 you can hear screams and shouts and claps and yeah, 00:07:05.02\00:07:10.26 all through the school. 00:07:10.29\00:07:11.63 And you can hear words of lament, No. 00:07:11.66\00:07:14.50 You can hear both sounds all through the school. 00:07:14.53\00:07:17.20 Well, my great interest was, 00:07:17.23\00:07:19.13 I wonder what's gonna happen to Kelly, 00:07:19.17\00:07:20.74 because he was in my class. 00:07:20.77\00:07:22.24 No, he wasn't. 00:07:22.27\00:07:23.61 He was in the class next to me. 00:07:23.64\00:07:24.97 So anyhow, here we are, I am going to my class. 00:07:25.01\00:07:27.44 And I know I'm going to pass 00:07:27.48\00:07:29.98 because I was one of the smart students in school. 00:07:30.01\00:07:32.01 No amens required. 00:07:32.05\00:07:33.72 But I looked to my right, 00:07:33.75\00:07:37.49 and I see Kelly's expression 00:07:37.52\00:07:40.02 before any sound that came out of his mouth, 00:07:40.06\00:07:42.62 his face told the story. 00:07:42.66\00:07:44.39 He finally passed 00:07:44.43\00:07:46.53 after being in the 12th grade for three years. 00:07:46.56\00:07:50.07 And in this great football grown in the noise 00:07:50.10\00:07:52.80 that a football player can make, 00:07:52.83\00:07:54.17 he went ballistic up and down the hallway, 00:07:54.20\00:07:56.71 slapping fives and yelling 00:07:56.74\00:07:58.07 and he finally made it out of the 12th grade. 00:07:58.11\00:08:02.08 What's the point of the story? 00:08:02.11\00:08:04.15 You never get the passing grade 00:08:04.18\00:08:05.75 until the final decision is made. 00:08:05.78\00:08:08.72 It, in fact, for many in high school, 00:08:08.75\00:08:12.22 specifically for Kelly, it was Judgment Day. 00:08:12.25\00:08:15.06 What day was it? 00:08:15.09\00:08:16.62 Judgment Day. 00:08:16.66\00:08:19.03 Whether we went on or whether we were left behind 00:08:19.06\00:08:23.43 was determined by the outcome 00:08:23.47\00:08:25.43 of our final grades. 00:08:25.47\00:08:27.50 Now, you never get your final grade 00:08:27.54\00:08:29.34 before you get the final test. 00:08:29.37\00:08:31.21 The final test is called an examination. 00:08:31.24\00:08:33.27 What word is that? 00:08:33.31\00:08:34.64 An examination. 00:08:34.68\00:08:36.14 Another phrase you can use is you are judged 00:08:36.18\00:08:39.58 based on the work you do all year long. 00:08:39.61\00:08:43.99 And based on the work that you do all year long, 00:08:44.02\00:08:46.52 then the determining factor is whether or not 00:08:46.55\00:08:49.72 you have to repeat that grade 00:08:49.76\00:08:51.16 or whether or not you're going to go on. 00:08:51.19\00:08:53.03 He was excited. We were all excited for him. 00:08:53.06\00:08:55.10 Matter of fact, it really didn't matter 00:08:55.13\00:08:56.77 who else passed on the fourth floor, 00:08:56.80\00:08:58.60 Kelly was the highlight because he finally made it. 00:08:58.63\00:09:01.54 You know, there's a day coming, 00:09:01.57\00:09:03.20 that we're going to stand before our Judgment Day, 00:09:03.24\00:09:06.47 our final exam. 00:09:06.51\00:09:09.41 And on that day, 00:09:09.44\00:09:11.25 people are going to be either elated 00:09:11.28\00:09:14.65 and excited and happy, 00:09:14.68\00:09:16.72 or there is going to be, as the Bible says, 00:09:16.75\00:09:18.85 wailing, weeping and gnashing of? 00:09:18.89\00:09:21.52 Gnashing of teeth. 00:09:21.56\00:09:22.89 It's going to be a horrible day. 00:09:22.92\00:09:24.93 But in context of that day that is on its way, 00:09:24.96\00:09:28.66 there is an examination that leads up to that day. 00:09:28.70\00:09:31.80 Go with me to Revelation, I want you to see this, 00:09:31.83\00:09:34.10 Revelation Chapter 22. 00:09:34.14\00:09:37.37 Revelation Chapter 22, 00:09:37.41\00:09:38.84 we gonna lay some foundation before we go to the questions. 00:09:38.87\00:09:41.38 Revelation Chapter 22. 00:09:41.41\00:09:43.98 You know, so when people say, 00:09:44.01\00:09:45.35 "Well, Jesus can come any day now." 00:09:45.38\00:09:49.15 Not saying that He can't 00:09:49.18\00:09:50.52 because I cannot determine that. 00:09:50.55\00:09:52.42 But He's not going to return 00:09:52.45\00:09:54.62 until the judgment is concluded, 00:09:54.66\00:09:57.79 until everyone has been examined. 00:09:57.83\00:10:00.20 And then the final declaration 00:10:00.23\00:10:01.70 is gonna be Revelation Chapter 22. 00:10:01.73\00:10:04.63 Notice verse 11. 00:10:04.67\00:10:06.10 This is the final declaration. 00:10:06.13\00:10:09.34 And if depending on the translation 00:10:09.37\00:10:11.37 you could follow along, the Bible declares, 00:10:11.41\00:10:14.81 "He who is unjust, let him be unjust," what? 00:10:14.84\00:10:18.35 "Still, he who was filthy, let him be filthy still, 00:10:18.38\00:10:22.58 he who is righteous, let him be righteous still, 00:10:22.62\00:10:26.02 he who is holy, let him be holy," what? 00:10:26.05\00:10:27.89 "Still." 00:10:27.92\00:10:29.26 And verse 12, 00:10:29.29\00:10:30.63 "And behold I am coming quickly, 00:10:30.66\00:10:33.53 and my reward is with Me to give to," how many of us? 00:10:33.56\00:10:38.00 "Everyone according to his," what? 00:10:38.03\00:10:41.14 "Work." Now let me make a point. 00:10:41.17\00:10:44.01 We cannot save ourselves by our works. 00:10:44.04\00:10:48.34 But so what's the purpose of the work 00:10:48.38\00:10:51.15 determining what the reward is going to be? 00:10:51.18\00:10:53.82 Let's just put this in the proper context. 00:10:53.85\00:10:56.55 Now, I don't want to date this program too much 00:10:56.58\00:10:58.85 because I know maybe in the future 00:10:58.89\00:11:00.22 it might be repeated. 00:11:00.26\00:11:01.59 But there's a time of the year where I know growing up 00:11:01.62\00:11:05.43 before I found out 00:11:05.46\00:11:06.80 that there was no such thing as Santa Claus, 00:11:06.83\00:11:09.16 you know, we used to hear that phrase 00:11:09.20\00:11:11.67 he sees you when you are sleeping. 00:11:11.70\00:11:13.74 He knows when you are awake. 00:11:13.77\00:11:15.20 He knows if you've been bad or good? 00:11:15.24\00:11:17.61 Before I knew that it had nothing to do with Santa Claus, 00:11:17.64\00:11:20.61 I was trying to be good. 00:11:20.64\00:11:23.88 When I was asked, are you sleeping? 00:11:23.91\00:11:26.51 My response was yes. 00:11:26.55\00:11:28.98 When we knew that Christmas was approaching, 00:11:29.02\00:11:30.72 we tried to do everything good, 00:11:30.75\00:11:32.89 so that when it comes, we'll get what? 00:11:32.92\00:11:35.96 Gifts, right? 00:11:35.99\00:11:37.59 In other words, 00:11:37.63\00:11:38.96 the reward was there for those who were good 00:11:38.99\00:11:40.70 and did their work 00:11:40.73\00:11:42.06 and did everything that mom and dad wanted them to do. 00:11:42.10\00:11:45.70 In other words, the reward finally showed up. 00:11:45.73\00:11:48.00 Well, I know I found out one day 00:11:48.04\00:11:50.07 that there is no such thing as Santa Claus. 00:11:50.11\00:11:51.94 And then I came to the appreciation 00:11:51.97\00:11:53.81 of all the gifts that I received 00:11:53.84\00:11:55.84 were because of my parents and their love for me. 00:11:55.88\00:11:59.21 And so the Bible points out in Revelation 22, 00:11:59.25\00:12:01.12 that there's a day coming. 00:12:01.15\00:12:02.48 But now let me go ahead 00:12:02.52\00:12:03.85 and give you the context of this. 00:12:03.89\00:12:05.22 Go with me to Daniel Chapter 7. 00:12:05.25\00:12:07.19 We're speaking about the judgment. 00:12:07.22\00:12:08.89 Daniel Chapter 7, I want to lay the foundation there, 00:12:08.92\00:12:13.03 because it is important to know the timing of the judgment. 00:12:13.06\00:12:17.03 You see, the judgment began at a certain time 00:12:17.07\00:12:20.70 and the Bible in prophecy points out four great empires. 00:12:20.74\00:12:25.64 How many did I say? 00:12:25.67\00:12:27.01 Four. 00:12:27.04\00:12:28.38 Babylon, if you know, Medo-Persia, 00:12:28.41\00:12:31.55 Greece and finally, what else? 00:12:31.58\00:12:33.52 Rome, and we are living in the day 00:12:33.55\00:12:36.55 where the fourth kingdom, the fourth great kingdom, 00:12:36.58\00:12:39.29 the Bible predicted, is in existence. 00:12:39.32\00:12:42.42 How fitting it is 00:12:42.46\00:12:43.79 that when Daniel gives the picture, 00:12:43.83\00:12:47.10 he gives the picture of the judgment 00:12:47.13\00:12:48.73 under the existence of the fourth beast. 00:12:48.76\00:12:51.33 Notice Daniel Chapter 7. 00:12:51.37\00:12:52.83 All right? 00:12:52.87\00:12:54.97 Daniel Chapter 7, 00:12:55.00\00:12:56.34 I'll just go ahead and read verse 7, 00:12:56.37\00:12:57.71 so we get the context. 00:12:57.74\00:12:59.07 All right? 00:12:59.11\00:13:00.44 Daniel 7:7, 00:13:00.48\00:13:02.54 "After this I saw in the night vision," 00:13:02.58\00:13:06.75 Daniel has a vision, "and behold a fourth beast, 00:13:06.78\00:13:11.15 dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. 00:13:11.19\00:13:15.89 It had huge iron teeth. 00:13:15.92\00:13:19.36 It was devouring, breaking in pieces 00:13:19.39\00:13:23.67 and trampling the residue with its feet. 00:13:23.70\00:13:26.60 It was different from all the beasts 00:13:26.63\00:13:28.10 that were before it. 00:13:28.14\00:13:29.47 And it had," how many horns? 00:13:29.50\00:13:30.91 "Ten horns." 00:13:30.94\00:13:32.27 Now we do know, looking back at that that, 00:13:32.31\00:13:34.91 that was the divided Kingdom of Rome, 00:13:34.94\00:13:36.85 the 10 nations that existed 00:13:36.88\00:13:39.21 under the early reign of the Roman Empire, 00:13:39.25\00:13:41.82 but let's go on further. 00:13:41.85\00:13:43.18 And I'm just going to skip over verse 8, 00:13:43.22\00:13:44.85 I'm going down to verse 9. 00:13:44.89\00:13:47.66 All right? 00:13:47.69\00:13:49.92 "I watched till thrones were put in place, 00:13:49.96\00:13:54.63 and the Ancient of Days was seated. 00:13:54.66\00:13:58.40 His garment was white as snow, 00:13:58.43\00:14:01.54 and the hair of His head was like pure wool. 00:14:01.57\00:14:05.91 His throne was a fiery flame, 00:14:05.94\00:14:08.74 its wheels a burning fire." 00:14:08.78\00:14:12.11 Verse 10, 00:14:12.15\00:14:13.48 "A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him. 00:14:13.52\00:14:18.59 A thousand, thousand ministered to Him, 00:14:18.62\00:14:21.22 that's millions, ten thousand times 00:14:21.26\00:14:23.63 ten thousand stood before Him. 00:14:23.66\00:14:25.99 The court was seated," and repeat the rest with me, 00:14:26.03\00:14:28.86 "and the books were open." 00:14:28.90\00:14:32.00 So when the court is seated, what's in session? 00:14:32.03\00:14:37.44 Judgment. 00:14:37.47\00:14:38.81 A judgment, a case has started. 00:14:38.84\00:14:42.24 The court, you have the jury, thrones are set in place. 00:14:42.28\00:14:47.02 You have those who are going to be residing in the judgment. 00:14:47.05\00:14:49.42 They're there to witness the judgment, 00:14:49.45\00:14:51.72 the Ancient of Days presiding in the judgment, 00:14:51.75\00:14:54.42 the court was seated. 00:14:54.46\00:14:55.96 And when you say the court was seated, 00:14:55.99\00:14:57.99 what do they often say when the judge is coming in. 00:14:58.03\00:15:01.56 All rise. 00:15:01.60\00:15:03.00 See, but now as he's in, the court is what? 00:15:03.03\00:15:05.87 Seated, the same thing that happens today. 00:15:05.90\00:15:09.24 The judicial system in America has been very much patterned 00:15:09.27\00:15:12.51 after the biblical system of judgment. 00:15:12.54\00:15:15.24 When the judge is coming in, you don't sit down 00:15:15.28\00:15:17.68 when the judge is coming and that's disrespectful. 00:15:17.71\00:15:21.55 The judge is seated and the books are open. 00:15:21.58\00:15:25.02 Now turn the page, I want to... 00:15:25.05\00:15:27.22 Before I tell you about the judgment, 00:15:27.26\00:15:29.09 I want to give you some encouragement. 00:15:29.12\00:15:30.86 All right? 00:15:30.89\00:15:32.23 Because it's fearful to go to court. 00:15:32.26\00:15:34.10 Anybody here ever went to court before? 00:15:34.13\00:15:35.73 Can I get a hand on anybody? 00:15:35.76\00:15:38.80 Okay. 00:15:38.83\00:15:40.17 If you just saw that big hand eclipse the screen, 00:15:40.20\00:15:42.04 that's David Butler. 00:15:42.07\00:15:45.81 He might have been in the court before, 00:15:45.84\00:15:47.24 don't know what for 00:15:47.28\00:15:48.91 but we've all at maybe one point or another 00:15:48.94\00:15:52.01 been to the court for something, 00:15:52.05\00:15:53.38 could have been a speeding ticket, 00:15:53.42\00:15:54.75 could have been any kind of infraction, 00:15:54.78\00:15:56.12 could have been any number of things. 00:15:56.15\00:15:57.49 We're not going to go over that tonight. 00:15:57.52\00:15:58.85 But I want to give you some encouragement 00:15:58.89\00:16:00.56 because, you know, if you don't know the outcome, 00:16:00.59\00:16:04.93 then you can be very fearful. 00:16:04.96\00:16:07.43 But if you know the outcome, 00:16:07.46\00:16:10.47 as you're on your way to court or standing in the judgment, 00:16:10.50\00:16:14.04 then you can be in the living 00:16:14.07\00:16:16.87 during the time of judgment with great confidence. 00:16:16.91\00:16:19.21 Isn't that right? 00:16:19.24\00:16:20.58 Let's look at this, verse 21, 00:16:20.61\00:16:23.88 and this is all under the work of the fourth beast of Daniel, 00:16:23.91\00:16:28.18 which is the empire of Rome. 00:16:28.22\00:16:30.55 Verse 21, 00:16:30.59\00:16:32.82 "I was watching and the same horn 00:16:32.85\00:16:36.52 was making war against the saints, 00:16:36.56\00:16:39.79 and prevailing against them." 00:16:39.83\00:16:41.40 In other words, looked like he had it all together, 00:16:41.43\00:16:44.00 looked like there was no way of stopping him. 00:16:44.03\00:16:46.53 The fourth beast, the kingdom of Rome, 00:16:46.57\00:16:48.27 and today Rome is prevalent all over the earth, 00:16:48.30\00:16:50.57 in the political as well as in the religious 00:16:50.61\00:16:53.68 arenas of the earth. 00:16:53.71\00:16:55.34 And I like the word in verse 22, 00:16:55.38\00:16:57.21 what's the first word? 00:16:57.25\00:16:58.85 "Until the Ancient of Days came." 00:16:58.88\00:17:02.52 Now, if you connect that, 00:17:02.55\00:17:04.69 you just have to go back and see clearly 00:17:04.72\00:17:07.46 that when the Ancient of Days came, verse 9, 00:17:07.49\00:17:09.79 when He came, the court was seated. 00:17:09.82\00:17:12.06 Until the Ancient of Days came and what does it say? 00:17:12.09\00:17:15.30 "And a judgment was made in favor of the saints 00:17:15.33\00:17:20.30 of the Most High." 00:17:20.34\00:17:22.07 Come on, say that with me, the saints of the Most High. 00:17:22.10\00:17:24.71 Let's respond this way you could stay alert. 00:17:24.74\00:17:27.61 "The judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High, 00:17:27.64\00:17:31.05 and the time came for the saints to," do what? 00:17:31.08\00:17:34.05 "Possess the kingdom." 00:17:34.08\00:17:35.42 Can we get an amen to that? 00:17:35.45\00:17:36.79 Amen. So here's the key. 00:17:36.82\00:17:38.69 What do you want to be in light of the judgment? 00:17:38.72\00:17:41.52 Say it. 00:17:41.56\00:17:42.89 Saint. A saint. 00:17:42.92\00:17:44.26 Now, we're not talking about St. Peter. 00:17:44.29\00:17:46.49 We're not talking about being made into a saint 00:17:46.53\00:17:49.03 or being elevated to the status of saint. 00:17:49.06\00:17:51.23 The word in the Bible saint simply means 00:17:51.27\00:17:53.34 one that is called out, one that is justified, 00:17:53.37\00:17:56.81 and sanctified by the righteousness of Jesus, 00:17:56.84\00:17:59.77 one whose life is covered by the merits of Christ. 00:17:59.81\00:18:03.08 That's what a saint is. 00:18:03.11\00:18:04.45 We're not talking about, well, 00:18:04.48\00:18:05.81 hey, I finally arrived at sainthood. 00:18:05.85\00:18:07.72 No, no, that's not what the point of the matter is. 00:18:07.75\00:18:10.22 Those who have been redeemed and sanctified 00:18:10.25\00:18:12.49 and justified by the blood of the Lamb, 00:18:12.52\00:18:15.02 when the judgment is over, 00:18:15.06\00:18:16.96 when the verdict is handed down, 00:18:16.99\00:18:19.03 if you are a saint, 00:18:19.06\00:18:20.83 the judgment will be made in your favor. 00:18:20.86\00:18:23.13 Amen? God. 00:21:02.06\00:21:03.69 God has been on trial. 00:21:03.73\00:21:05.43 This is really important because a person that lives, 00:21:05.46\00:21:09.80 let's go back to the days of the antediluvian. 00:21:09.83\00:21:12.20 If they lived 800 years, 00:21:12.23\00:21:14.17 well that's a short span of time, 00:21:14.20\00:21:16.00 they die and somebody else is born 00:21:16.04\00:21:17.84 and keep going and today, 00:21:17.87\00:21:19.21 there are people that live to 70. 00:21:19.24\00:21:20.68 If you make 100 years today, that's huge. 00:21:20.71\00:21:22.81 That's centenarian, that's just big, 00:21:22.84\00:21:25.55 but you pass, you pass on 00:21:25.58\00:21:27.78 and somebody else is born and they pass on. 00:21:27.82\00:21:30.69 And from age to age, whatever that person does, 00:21:30.72\00:21:33.92 the Bible says, 00:21:33.96\00:21:35.29 it is appointed unto men once to die and after that, 00:21:35.32\00:21:39.63 the judgment. 00:21:39.66\00:21:41.00 That means, your record has been sealed. 00:21:41.03\00:21:43.70 Everything you've done 00:21:43.73\00:21:45.07 for that 30, 40, 50, 80, 90, 100 years 00:21:45.10\00:21:47.54 is contained in a record. 00:21:47.57\00:21:50.94 Now, you could be filled with fear David, 00:21:50.97\00:21:53.48 since you're red-handed clips the screen, 00:21:53.51\00:21:55.44 I'll refer you, you can be filled with fear 00:21:55.48\00:21:58.31 if your records were opened. 00:21:58.35\00:22:02.02 And they said, "Oh, no. 00:22:02.05\00:22:05.05 For most of this young man's life, 00:22:05.09\00:22:08.56 he did not know Jesus. 00:22:08.59\00:22:11.83 So we don't have to look at the rest of his life." 00:22:11.86\00:22:14.23 Because let's say he's 40, oh for 34 years he didn't know, 00:22:14.26\00:22:18.43 forget it, he's not gonna make it. 00:22:18.47\00:22:20.37 Wouldn't that be fearful? 00:22:20.40\00:22:22.54 You'd almost want to wish 00:22:22.57\00:22:23.91 that you were baptized as a baby, 00:22:23.94\00:22:26.41 and sanctified from that point on, 00:22:26.44\00:22:27.94 if in fact you were on trial, 00:22:27.98\00:22:30.48 but what does the scripture say? 00:22:30.51\00:22:32.91 The hour of His judgment, the hour of His judgment. 00:22:32.95\00:22:38.25 In other words, 00:22:38.29\00:22:41.09 if our judge is vindicated, 00:22:41.12\00:22:45.23 I wanna put this together correctly. 00:22:45.26\00:22:47.30 If our lawyer is vindicated, 00:22:47.33\00:22:53.23 if the one who covers us with his character 00:22:53.27\00:22:56.17 is vindicated, and he's declared righteous, 00:22:56.20\00:22:59.77 then what are we declared? 00:22:59.81\00:23:01.51 Okay, but if he's declared unrighteous, 00:23:01.54\00:23:04.25 and he covers us with himself, what are we declared? 00:23:04.28\00:23:07.15 Unrighteous. 00:23:07.18\00:23:08.52 So write the answer down. 00:23:08.55\00:23:09.88 Let's put this down very quickly. 00:23:09.92\00:23:11.25 What does the first angel's message of Revelation 00:23:11.29\00:23:12.79 bring it to view? 00:23:12.82\00:23:14.19 The hour of His judgment or the judgment hour. 00:23:14.22\00:23:17.53 Now, what's amazing about this is this is the winding down 00:23:17.56\00:23:21.70 of His judgment, 00:23:21.73\00:23:23.67 and also the reviewing of our records 00:23:23.70\00:23:26.84 in the hour of judgment. 00:23:26.87\00:23:30.57 Very important. 00:23:30.61\00:23:32.07 Matter of fact, go with me to... 00:23:32.11\00:23:33.94 I want you to get a glimpse into Paul the Apostle's life. 00:23:33.98\00:23:36.68 Go with me to 2 Timothy Chapter 4. 00:23:36.71\00:23:39.41 2 Timothy Chapter 4, this is so beautiful to see. 00:23:39.45\00:23:45.35 Okay. 00:23:45.39\00:23:46.72 When I was being raised, 00:23:49.46\00:23:50.89 I used to think that God the Father is the judge, 00:23:50.93\00:23:55.56 Jesus is the lawyer and He's going to fight my case 00:23:55.60\00:23:59.53 against the Father. 00:23:59.57\00:24:01.94 You ever think that? 00:24:01.97\00:24:03.30 I thought that until I studied and understood, wait a minute. 00:24:03.34\00:24:07.14 Let's go ahead and look at what the Apostle Paul talks about. 00:24:07.18\00:24:10.05 I thought that Jesus was saying, 00:24:10.08\00:24:12.61 "Dad, please, please let John be saved," 00:24:12.65\00:24:17.85 until I discovered they're on the same team. 00:24:17.89\00:24:19.65 Amen? 00:24:19.69\00:24:21.02 There are no opposing sides here. 00:24:21.06\00:24:22.39 There's not this tyrannical father 00:24:22.42\00:24:24.29 that's looking down with a divine telescope. 00:24:24.33\00:24:27.13 Look, uh, got him, See, that's the reason why. 00:24:27.16\00:24:29.90 No, the one who is accusing us is who? 00:24:29.93\00:24:33.20 Satan, the accuser of our brethren. 00:24:33.23\00:24:35.80 See, anytime you stand in court, 00:24:35.84\00:24:37.41 you got a prosecuting, you got a defense team. 00:24:37.44\00:24:41.34 You'll see about our defense team in just a moment. 00:24:41.38\00:24:43.21 It's a beautiful topic. 00:24:43.24\00:24:44.68 A lot of people get fearful, 00:24:44.71\00:24:46.05 but let me let you see what Paul the Apostle 00:24:46.08\00:24:48.35 has concluded about who this judge is. 00:24:48.38\00:24:50.85 All right? 00:24:50.89\00:24:52.22 1 Thessalonians Chapter 4. 00:24:52.25\00:24:54.92 Sorry, 2 Timothy Chapter 4. 00:24:54.96\00:24:57.66 Thank you, honey. 00:24:57.69\00:24:59.03 2 Timothy 4:7-8. 00:24:59.06\00:25:01.90 And by the way, this outlines our lives. 00:25:01.93\00:25:04.37 This outlines our lives well. 00:25:04.40\00:25:06.30 Okay. 00:25:06.33\00:25:07.67 2 Timothy 4:7-8. 00:25:07.70\00:25:10.04 This is in addition to the first question. 00:25:10.07\00:25:11.94 You gonna just put that in there as you get there. 00:25:11.97\00:25:14.08 Now notice what Paul says about the kind of life 00:25:14.11\00:25:16.41 that every one of us lives, 00:25:16.44\00:25:18.85 and I'm sure that you experience this 00:25:18.88\00:25:20.48 on a daily and weekly basis. 00:25:20.52\00:25:23.12 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, 00:25:23.15\00:25:28.12 I have kept the faith." 00:25:28.16\00:25:29.99 So every day what do we have to do? 00:25:30.03\00:25:32.36 Fight the fight of faith. 00:25:32.39\00:25:34.03 How often do you fight the fight of faith? 00:25:34.06\00:25:36.00 Every day. 00:25:36.03\00:25:37.50 How often do you run the race? 00:25:37.53\00:25:39.90 Every day. 00:25:39.93\00:25:41.30 You run that race with patience, you keep going. 00:25:41.34\00:25:43.87 If you see the finish line, 00:25:43.91\00:25:46.07 the Bible says the race is not given to the swift, 00:25:46.11\00:25:48.01 you don't have to be fast, 00:25:48.04\00:25:49.38 you just have to keep going. 00:25:49.41\00:25:51.15 That's what Paul, the very same writer said 00:25:51.18\00:25:53.35 he kept his eyes, 00:25:53.38\00:25:54.72 he pressed toward the prize, toward the mark 00:25:54.75\00:25:57.85 for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 00:25:57.89\00:26:00.62 There is a prize, 00:26:00.66\00:26:01.99 he's going to talk about the prize now. 00:26:02.02\00:26:03.36 Look at this, 00:26:03.39\00:26:04.73 "Finally there is laid up for me the," 00:26:04.76\00:26:07.30 what of righteousness? 00:26:07.33\00:26:08.96 "Crown of righteousness," 00:26:09.00\00:26:10.70 and notice how he describes the Lord, 00:26:10.73\00:26:13.10 "which the Lord the righteous judge." 00:26:13.13\00:26:17.31 Can I get an amen to that? 00:26:17.34\00:26:19.11 He's a righteous judge. 00:26:19.14\00:26:21.44 "Will give to me on that day and not to me only, 00:26:21.48\00:26:26.68 but also to all who have," what? 00:26:26.72\00:26:29.58 "Loved His appearing." 00:26:29.62\00:26:31.02 So what kind of judge do we have? 00:26:31.05\00:26:33.72 Okay. 00:26:33.76\00:26:35.09 Huh? 00:26:35.12\00:26:36.46 A righteous judge. 00:26:36.49\00:26:37.89 But Satan is still accusing him of not being righteous. 00:26:37.93\00:26:41.53 So, when you read Revelation 17 00:26:41.56\00:26:45.67 and there's some other verses there, 00:26:45.70\00:26:47.04 I'll include in just a moment here. 00:26:47.07\00:26:48.60 When you look at Revelation 17, and the judgment is done, 00:26:48.64\00:26:52.27 the saints declare, 00:26:52.31\00:26:53.84 your judgments are true and faithful. 00:26:53.88\00:26:57.95 But Satan is saying that God is not just. 00:26:57.98\00:27:00.85 Satan is saying God is not fair. 00:27:00.88\00:27:02.45 Matter of fact, go with me to the Book of Ezekiel. 00:27:02.48\00:27:04.65 I want to insert some things here 00:27:04.69\00:27:07.52 and somehow this opinion 00:27:07.56\00:27:09.99 is not just shared by the enemy. 00:27:10.03\00:27:13.86 Sadly enough and what I'm about to show you now, 00:27:13.90\00:27:17.17 sadly enough, there was a time, 00:27:17.20\00:27:20.74 and I'm going to the Book of Ezekiel, right? 00:27:20.77\00:27:23.84 There was a time when 00:27:23.87\00:27:27.84 the people of God had... 00:27:27.88\00:27:32.05 I'll tell you. 00:27:32.08\00:27:33.42 What chapter did I say? 00:27:39.29\00:27:41.52 Okay, Ezekiel Chapter 33. 00:27:41.56\00:27:45.93 Here we are. 00:27:45.96\00:27:47.30 Okay. 00:27:50.70\00:27:54.54 Oh, I tell you. 00:27:54.57\00:27:55.90 I'm going to try to... 00:28:01.18\00:28:02.51 Okay. 00:28:02.54\00:28:03.98 Let's start with verse 12. 00:28:04.01\00:28:06.11 Well, let's start with verse 11. 00:28:06.15\00:28:08.42 Okay. 00:28:08.45\00:28:09.78 The Lord is calling Ezekiel to blow the trumpet, 00:28:09.82\00:28:12.42 and he's blowing the trumpet for the people of God to hear. 00:28:12.45\00:28:15.82 Usually if a trumpet is blown, 00:28:15.86\00:28:18.13 for what purposes did they blow a trumpet? 00:28:18.16\00:28:20.00 To warn him, get somebody's attention. 00:28:20.03\00:28:22.50 And the Bible says in Isaiah, to lift up, Isaiah 58:1, 00:28:22.53\00:28:26.03 "Lift up your voice like a trumpet, 00:28:26.07\00:28:28.57 show my people their transgressions, 00:28:28.60\00:28:30.27 and the house of Jacob their sin." 00:28:30.31\00:28:31.64 So when the trumpet is being blown, 00:28:31.67\00:28:33.41 in the spiritual sense, 00:28:33.44\00:28:34.88 God is saying, look, pay attention. 00:28:34.91\00:28:37.78 Now, notice this, verse 11, 00:28:37.81\00:28:40.58 "Say to them, as I live, says the Lord God, 00:28:40.62\00:28:45.75 I have," what? 00:28:45.79\00:28:47.36 "No pleasure in the death of the wicked, 00:28:47.39\00:28:49.92 but that the wicked turn from his way and live. 00:28:49.96\00:28:54.66 Turn from your evil ways for why should you die 00:28:54.70\00:28:58.73 O house of Israel." 00:28:58.77\00:29:00.70 So pause for a moment. 00:29:00.74\00:29:02.07 What is God's desire that we do what? 00:29:02.10\00:29:04.37 That we turn to live. 00:29:04.41\00:29:06.64 So this idea that the Lord wants to burn people 00:29:06.68\00:29:08.74 forever and ever is not in harmony 00:29:08.78\00:29:10.88 with His character. 00:29:10.91\00:29:12.25 But now let's look at the argument here 00:29:12.28\00:29:13.62 because there's an argument that's going to come up. 00:29:13.65\00:29:16.65 God is telling His people who He is 00:29:16.69\00:29:18.42 and they're saying, wait a minute, 00:29:18.45\00:29:19.79 that's, that's not who I think you are. 00:29:19.82\00:29:21.69 Let's look at this. 00:29:21.72\00:29:23.29 "Therefore, O son of man," verse 12, 00:29:23.32\00:29:25.76 "say to the children of your people, 00:29:25.79\00:29:27.63 the righteousness," this is powerful, 00:29:27.66\00:29:30.03 "the righteousness of the righteous man 00:29:30.07\00:29:32.70 shall not deliver him 00:29:32.73\00:29:35.04 in the day of his transgression, 00:29:35.07\00:29:38.01 as for the wickedness of the wicked, 00:29:38.04\00:29:40.24 he shall not fall because of it 00:29:40.28\00:29:42.28 in the day that he turns from his wickedness, 00:29:42.31\00:29:45.65 nor shall the righteous be able to live 00:29:45.68\00:29:47.98 because of his righteousness in the day that he sins." 00:29:48.02\00:29:51.82 Now let's pause for a brief moment. 00:29:51.85\00:29:53.66 Is this saying one day you're in the river, 00:29:53.69\00:29:55.86 the next day you're on the bank? 00:29:55.89\00:29:57.23 Is that what this is saying? 00:29:57.26\00:29:58.59 No, the word there, a better way 00:29:58.63\00:30:00.46 to describe the word there in the Hebrew is iniquity. 00:30:00.50\00:30:04.93 In other words, when a person decide 00:30:04.97\00:30:06.30 because remember, the Lord said, 00:30:06.33\00:30:07.80 turn from your evil. 00:30:07.84\00:30:09.74 So now, if the righteous turns 00:30:09.77\00:30:12.57 from his righteousness and starts going 00:30:12.61\00:30:14.24 in the opposite direction, 00:30:14.28\00:30:16.34 is he going toward the Lord or away from the Lord? 00:30:16.38\00:30:19.88 If the righteous turns 00:30:19.91\00:30:21.58 from going towards Jesus, 00:30:21.62\00:30:24.59 he's going away from the Lord. 00:30:24.62\00:30:26.62 So if you're moving now in the journey of salvation, 00:30:26.65\00:30:30.09 and you turn, is it a good thing? 00:30:30.13\00:30:32.39 No. 00:30:32.43\00:30:33.76 But if the wicked turns, is that a good thing? 00:30:33.80\00:30:35.13 Yes. 00:30:35.16\00:30:36.50 He said to the wicked, "Turn, make a turn." 00:30:36.53\00:30:38.90 "You ever saw that sign, 00:30:38.93\00:30:40.27 if you're going in the wrong direction, 00:30:40.30\00:30:41.64 God allows what? 00:30:41.67\00:30:43.00 U-turns, make a turn. 00:30:43.04\00:30:44.54 See, that's what reformation 00:30:44.57\00:30:48.58 and redemption is all about. 00:30:48.61\00:30:52.28 You know, we talk about... 00:30:52.31\00:30:54.12 I'm trying to put the evangelistic term together. 00:30:54.15\00:30:57.45 We always talked about, anyway, it'll come to me in a moment. 00:30:57.49\00:31:01.39 But God is saying to the righteous, 00:31:01.42\00:31:03.73 don't turn, 00:31:03.76\00:31:05.09 just keep going straight. 00:31:05.13\00:31:06.46 But He's saying to the wicked, turn and join the righteous. 00:31:06.49\00:31:09.16 But now look at verse 13, 00:31:09.20\00:31:11.30 "When I say to the righteous 00:31:11.33\00:31:13.07 that he shall surely live, 00:31:13.10\00:31:15.54 but if he trusts in his own righteousness 00:31:15.57\00:31:19.31 and commits," what? 00:31:19.34\00:31:20.81 In other words, 00:31:20.84\00:31:22.18 he gets this sin that he loves so much, 00:31:22.21\00:31:24.51 that he's not gonna let it go. 00:31:24.55\00:31:26.11 I'm not gonna, no matter what, I'm not gonna let it go. 00:31:26.15\00:31:28.48 And he begins to trust in his own righteousness. 00:31:28.52\00:31:31.02 I'm good enough. 00:31:31.05\00:31:33.46 I'm happy where I am. 00:31:33.49\00:31:35.22 Look what the Bible says, 00:31:35.26\00:31:36.62 "None of his righteous works shall be remembered, 00:31:36.66\00:31:40.33 but because of the iniquity that he has committed," what? 00:31:40.36\00:31:44.87 "He shall die. 00:31:44.90\00:31:46.23 And when I say to the wicked, 00:31:46.27\00:31:48.04 you shall surely die, 00:31:48.07\00:31:49.60 if he turns from his sin, 00:31:49.64\00:31:52.11 and does what is lawful and right, 00:31:52.14\00:31:54.81 if the wicked restores the pledge, 00:31:54.84\00:31:57.05 gives back what he has stolen 00:31:57.08\00:31:59.28 and walks in the statutes of life 00:31:59.31\00:32:01.02 without committing iniquity," 00:32:01.05\00:32:03.12 there's the word again. 00:32:03.15\00:32:05.69 "he shall surely live, 00:32:05.72\00:32:07.72 he shall not die." 00:32:07.76\00:32:09.19 Now, let me pause right here and ask you a question. 00:32:09.22\00:32:11.03 I want some feedback. 00:32:11.06\00:32:14.80 Is the devil concerned about 00:32:14.83\00:32:17.83 our periodical stumblings? 00:32:17.87\00:32:20.84 What does he want? 00:32:20.87\00:32:22.20 What does he want to lead us to? 00:32:22.24\00:32:25.77 What's the word that came up more than once? 00:32:25.81\00:32:28.18 What kind of life does he want us to live? 00:32:28.21\00:32:29.64 A life of...? 00:32:29.68\00:32:32.31 Say it again, iniquity, 00:32:32.35\00:32:33.78 you know what iniquity means? 00:32:33.82\00:32:35.15 Iniquity means cherished. 00:32:35.18\00:32:37.02 Okay, my pets. 00:32:37.05\00:32:38.39 Oh, no, no, 00:32:38.42\00:32:39.75 like if somebody is trying to take something from me, 00:32:39.79\00:32:41.12 no, no, not that one. 00:32:41.16\00:32:42.96 See the Lord, 00:32:42.99\00:32:44.33 He wants to clean us completely. 00:32:44.36\00:32:45.83 He wants to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 00:32:45.86\00:32:49.03 But there are those that want to hold on to that thing 00:32:49.06\00:32:50.67 that they love the most, is called a cherished sin. 00:32:50.70\00:32:53.57 It's called iniquity. 00:32:53.60\00:32:54.94 In other words, I can't cure you, 00:32:54.97\00:32:57.27 because you don't want to stop what you're doing. 00:32:57.31\00:32:59.11 He says like going to the doctor for an ailment. 00:32:59.14\00:33:01.78 But while you're getting the surgery, 00:33:01.81\00:33:03.61 you're still involved in the ailment. 00:33:03.65\00:33:05.51 Wait a minute, I'm trying to help you 00:33:05.55\00:33:06.88 and while you're on the surgical table, 00:33:06.92\00:33:08.85 you're still doing the very thing 00:33:08.88\00:33:10.22 that got you in this position. 00:33:10.25\00:33:12.45 But let's go on and look what happens. 00:33:12.49\00:33:16.26 And then, verse 16, speaking of the wicked one, 00:33:16.29\00:33:20.00 "None of his sins which he had committed 00:33:20.03\00:33:22.70 shall be remembered against him, 00:33:22.73\00:33:24.23 he has done what is lawful and right, 00:33:24.27\00:33:26.23 he shall surely live." 00:33:26.27\00:33:28.64 Ain't that wonderful? 00:33:28.67\00:33:30.01 So if the wicked man and I wanna give encouragement 00:33:30.04\00:33:31.87 to those who may be living a life 00:33:31.91\00:33:33.24 where they're stumbling, they don't know the Lord. 00:33:33.27\00:33:34.94 They may think they've gone too far 00:33:34.98\00:33:36.91 that God cannot save them. 00:33:36.95\00:33:38.68 The good news of the judgment is, 00:33:38.71\00:33:40.72 if you give your life to the Lord and turn, 00:33:40.75\00:33:43.82 all the wickedness you have done 00:33:43.85\00:33:45.99 will not be remembered in the judgment. 00:33:46.02\00:33:47.89 Ain't that an amen? Amen. 00:33:47.92\00:33:49.29 That's good news. 00:33:49.32\00:33:50.66 There is no such thing as I've gone too far. 00:33:50.69\00:33:52.96 Somebody asked me 00:33:52.99\00:33:54.93 at these meetings that we were having here, 00:33:54.96\00:33:56.46 that's still going on in Albuquerque, 00:33:56.50\00:33:59.40 this evangelistic series, 00:33:59.43\00:34:01.07 they said, you know, I'm wondering 00:34:01.10\00:34:02.87 if I committed the unpardonable sin. 00:34:02.90\00:34:06.04 I said for the fact that you're asking me 00:34:06.07\00:34:07.78 you haven't. 00:34:07.81\00:34:09.58 I want to know if there's hope for me, 00:34:09.61\00:34:12.08 for the fact that you're asking there is hope. 00:34:12.11\00:34:14.98 You see, the unpardonable sin is when there is no conviction. 00:34:15.02\00:34:17.92 When you have no, you have no care 00:34:17.95\00:34:20.69 about the condition of your life, 00:34:20.72\00:34:22.06 then you've crossed the border. 00:34:22.09\00:34:24.06 But now I want to bring the argument in here. 00:34:24.09\00:34:26.33 Verse 17, 00:34:26.36\00:34:28.30 this is how some people view God, 00:34:28.33\00:34:30.17 this is why I'm reading this. 00:34:30.20\00:34:31.90 I want to get the idea out of your mind 00:34:31.93\00:34:33.50 that God is this bad guy. 00:34:33.54\00:34:35.04 He's giving you every chance to be saved. 00:34:35.07\00:34:36.81 Look at verse 17, 00:34:36.84\00:34:38.37 "Yet the children of your people say," 00:34:38.41\00:34:41.38 what did they say? 00:34:41.41\00:34:42.74 "The way of the Lord is" what? 00:34:42.78\00:34:45.25 "Not fair." 00:34:45.28\00:34:47.38 But it is their way which is not fair. 00:34:47.42\00:34:51.32 So who's fair, 00:34:51.35\00:34:52.72 God or us? 00:34:52.75\00:34:56.32 So God has made every provision for us 00:34:56.36\00:34:58.99 to be excused and forgiven 00:34:59.03\00:35:02.43 in light of the judgment. 00:35:02.46\00:35:03.80 Let's go to question number two. 00:35:03.83\00:35:05.37 Let's go to question number two. 00:35:05.40\00:35:06.74 This is very important, all right? 00:35:06.77\00:35:09.94 There is no such thing as going too far, 00:35:09.97\00:35:13.24 except you persistently refuse 00:35:13.27\00:35:15.91 to respond to the voice of the Spirit of God, 00:35:15.94\00:35:17.91 and you never respond. 00:35:17.95\00:35:19.61 And none of us could come to that place where we decide, 00:35:19.65\00:35:22.22 well, you've crossed the line, there's no hope for you. 00:35:22.25\00:35:24.69 That's something that only God can decide. 00:35:24.72\00:35:27.26 All right. Let's look at question number two. 00:35:27.29\00:35:30.29 How many people 00:35:30.33\00:35:33.80 does the Bible reveal will be judged? 00:35:33.83\00:35:36.90 How many people does the Bible reveal 00:35:36.93\00:35:39.67 will be judged? 00:35:39.70\00:35:41.74 2 Corinthians 5:10. 00:35:41.77\00:35:44.64 2 Corinthians 5:10, all right? 00:35:44.67\00:35:50.11 Okay, here we are. 00:35:50.15\00:35:51.81 Here we are. 00:35:51.85\00:35:53.72 Let's read this, it says, 00:35:53.75\00:35:55.58 "For we must," how many of us must appear? 00:35:55.62\00:35:58.65 "All appear before the judgment seat of Christ, 00:35:58.69\00:36:02.52 that each one may receive the things done in the body, 00:36:02.56\00:36:06.56 according to what he has done, 00:36:06.59\00:36:08.53 whether," what side? 00:36:08.56\00:36:10.57 "Good or whether," what? "Bad." 00:36:10.60\00:36:12.87 Weather good or evil, everybody has to appear. 00:36:12.90\00:36:15.77 Now, have any of you ever been on a jury 00:36:15.80\00:36:18.41 and call for jury duty? 00:36:18.44\00:36:21.04 Huh? 00:36:21.08\00:36:22.44 I've been on to two jury trials. 00:36:22.48\00:36:26.18 You don't want to go on jury duty 00:36:26.21\00:36:27.55 because they give you like $5 a day, 00:36:27.58\00:36:28.92 at least that's how it was in New York City. 00:36:28.95\00:36:30.65 You don't get your actual salary, 00:36:30.69\00:36:32.02 you get $5 a day. 00:36:32.05\00:36:33.39 And it's terrible if it's a very bad trial 00:36:33.42\00:36:36.22 where you have to be sequestered. 00:36:36.26\00:36:37.59 That means you're locked up in your room, 00:36:37.63\00:36:38.96 you can't watch the news. 00:36:38.99\00:36:40.46 You can't watch, listen to the radio, 00:36:40.50\00:36:42.33 you can't, no communication devices, 00:36:42.36\00:36:44.77 didn't have cell phones when I was growing up, 00:36:44.80\00:36:46.17 so that was not a big issue. 00:36:46.20\00:36:48.10 But for those who were called to jury duty, 00:36:48.14\00:36:50.51 the thing that frightened me about that summons is, 00:36:50.54\00:36:54.18 if you don't respond, 00:36:54.21\00:36:55.68 I don't know if you've ever read it 00:36:55.71\00:36:57.05 if you don't respond in a timely manner, 00:36:57.08\00:36:59.71 there could be... 00:36:59.75\00:37:03.85 What's the thing when somebody they try to? 00:37:03.89\00:37:06.99 A warrant. 00:37:07.02\00:37:08.36 Yeah, they could put a warrant out for your arrest 00:37:08.39\00:37:12.23 if you don't respond to be a juror. 00:37:12.26\00:37:15.23 I'm thinking, that's not fair. 00:37:15.26\00:37:18.30 You have to have a legitimate excuse 00:37:18.33\00:37:20.57 and the court has to decide whether you're excused, 00:37:20.60\00:37:24.31 which means everyone must appear, 00:37:24.34\00:37:26.94 either be there to be a part of the jury, 00:37:26.98\00:37:29.81 or you respond by letter. 00:37:29.84\00:37:31.71 How many of us must respond? 00:37:31.75\00:37:34.48 Everybody, all must appear before the judgment seat. 00:37:34.52\00:37:38.32 If you don't respond by that particular date 00:37:38.35\00:37:41.22 and I remember, 00:37:41.26\00:37:42.59 I remember as a pastor, 00:37:42.62\00:37:44.73 when I was in California, 00:37:44.76\00:37:46.66 I knew that I had a preplanned event. 00:37:46.70\00:37:48.96 My tickets were already purchased 00:37:49.00\00:37:50.33 to be out of town. 00:37:50.37\00:37:51.83 And I went to the court 00:37:51.87\00:37:54.14 and they said, "Okay, what are you here for today?" 00:37:54.17\00:37:56.27 I said, "I need to respond 00:37:56.30\00:37:58.01 to this jury invitation to be juror." 00:37:58.04\00:38:00.71 They said, "And what's the reason 00:38:00.74\00:38:02.08 why you cannot attend?" 00:38:02.11\00:38:03.48 I said, "I'm the local clergy, already purchased tickets 00:38:03.51\00:38:06.95 for this particular event is happening during the time." 00:38:06.98\00:38:09.78 And they said, "Okay, 00:38:09.82\00:38:11.15 you're allowed to get three excuses. 00:38:11.19\00:38:15.52 But if you get called the fourth time, 00:38:15.56\00:38:18.19 that means you have to appear." 00:38:18.23\00:38:20.63 So they extended to me grace, 00:38:20.66\00:38:23.13 and I didn't have to go. 00:38:23.16\00:38:24.63 But they decide whether or not you're excused. 00:38:24.67\00:38:26.84 For example, if you say, 00:38:26.87\00:38:28.20 I can't come because I have to go to work. 00:38:28.24\00:38:29.57 They say, "It's not an excuse. 00:38:29.60\00:38:30.94 You'll be there." 00:38:30.97\00:38:32.31 I can't go because I've class. Not an excuse. You'll be there. 00:38:32.34\00:38:34.94 You better have a good excuse. 00:38:34.98\00:38:37.35 But in the judgment, nobody is going to be excused 00:38:37.38\00:38:40.95 because whether it's a good excuse 00:38:40.98\00:38:42.55 at the bottom, whether good or what? 00:38:42.58\00:38:43.99 Bad. 00:38:44.02\00:38:45.35 so the answer is, how many people 00:38:45.39\00:38:46.72 does the Bible reveal will be judged? 00:38:46.76\00:38:48.99 All, everybody's going to be involved, 00:38:49.02\00:38:51.03 everybody's going to have to appear. 00:38:51.06\00:38:53.19 And the only good excuse we're going to have is... 00:38:53.23\00:38:56.00 The only good excuse we gonna have... 00:38:59.67\00:39:01.24 What's his name? 00:39:01.27\00:39:02.60 I just want to see if you're listening 00:39:06.21\00:39:07.54 because you guys have not listened as well. 00:39:07.58\00:39:09.94 Is there any excuse for us not to appear? 00:39:09.98\00:39:12.61 Okay, I just want to hear. 00:39:12.65\00:39:14.98 Okay, I'm glad you didn't say Jesus 00:39:15.02\00:39:16.48 because Jesus is not excusing you. 00:39:16.52\00:39:18.79 You must all appear. 00:39:18.82\00:39:20.52 You were listening. 00:39:20.56\00:39:21.89 Question number three. Question number three. 00:39:21.92\00:39:25.09 What does the Bible reveal 00:39:25.13\00:39:27.03 will be the standard of judgment? 00:39:27.06\00:39:29.46 This is vitally important because sometimes 00:39:29.50\00:39:33.34 wealthy people sometimes think they play by different rules. 00:39:33.37\00:39:38.17 People that are not, 00:39:38.21\00:39:39.57 people that are considered society dropouts 00:39:39.61\00:39:41.51 think they play by different rules. 00:39:41.54\00:39:42.88 There are a lot of people that feel 00:39:42.91\00:39:44.25 that they have exclusiveness, 00:39:44.28\00:39:45.68 they don't have to play by the same rules. 00:39:45.71\00:39:48.48 Well, some people think that, well, I'm very educated, 00:39:48.52\00:39:51.45 I should be excused 00:39:51.49\00:39:52.82 or judge me based on my social status, 00:39:52.85\00:39:56.59 my educational abilities, 00:39:56.62\00:39:58.76 my financial resources, 00:39:58.79\00:40:00.73 and my status in society. 00:40:00.76\00:40:02.66 If that were the standard of judgment, 00:40:02.70\00:40:06.43 if wealth was, poor people will be lost. 00:40:06.47\00:40:09.87 If education was, uneducated people will be lost. 00:40:09.90\00:40:13.01 So the judgment has to be the same for every one of us. 00:40:13.04\00:40:16.44 Let's look at James 2:12. 00:40:16.48\00:40:19.05 The judgment has to be the same for 00:40:19.08\00:40:20.98 or the standard has to be the same for every one of us. 00:40:21.02\00:40:24.72 Here it is, 00:40:24.75\00:40:26.09 James 2:12, 00:40:26.12\00:40:28.09 and the Bible reads as follows, 00:40:28.12\00:40:30.86 "So speak and so," what else? 00:40:30.89\00:40:33.73 "Do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty." 00:40:33.76\00:40:39.40 Now the reason why it's called the law of liberty, 00:40:39.43\00:40:41.74 by the way, everybody is judged by law. 00:40:41.77\00:40:44.64 When you go to a court, 00:40:44.67\00:40:47.08 and I've learned this as I got older. 00:40:47.11\00:40:49.64 I'm not going to get into the nitty-gritty of it, 00:40:52.91\00:40:54.42 but I've heard some people say 00:40:54.45\00:40:56.89 whether you win or lose the case 00:40:56.92\00:40:58.55 depends on the lawyer you have. 00:40:58.59\00:41:01.36 Because he'll use the law, 00:41:01.39\00:41:03.02 he'll argue the law in your favor. 00:41:03.06\00:41:05.23 He'll cite case history, 00:41:05.26\00:41:08.13 he'll dig, she will dig, 00:41:08.16\00:41:10.17 your lawyer team will dig, 00:41:10.20\00:41:12.23 and sometimes you could be as guilty as sin 00:41:12.27\00:41:16.14 but you can have a good lawyer 00:41:16.17\00:41:18.37 and he will get you either acquitted 00:41:18.41\00:41:21.31 or you'll be declared not guilty 00:41:21.34\00:41:23.31 or you will not be found guilty. 00:41:23.35\00:41:27.48 You won't be convicted in the criminal trial. 00:41:27.52\00:41:30.15 But what happens 00:41:30.19\00:41:31.52 when you're not convicted in the criminal trial? 00:41:31.55\00:41:32.99 Sometimes they come back for what? 00:41:33.02\00:41:34.62 Civil trial, 00:41:34.66\00:41:35.99 because the people that are persecuting 00:41:36.02\00:41:37.36 you said, I'm not having this. 00:41:37.39\00:41:38.73 They want to find you guilty of something. 00:41:38.76\00:41:41.20 But in this case, 00:41:41.23\00:41:42.66 law is the thing that's going to be the standard 00:41:42.70\00:41:44.73 by which every one of us is going to be judged. 00:41:44.77\00:41:46.80 The question is, what law? 00:41:46.84\00:41:49.07 Is it the law of the city of Thompsonville? 00:41:49.10\00:41:51.77 Is it the laws of the city of New York? 00:41:51.81\00:41:54.01 Is it the laws that were decided 00:41:54.04\00:41:55.41 by the Supreme Court of the United States? 00:41:55.44\00:41:57.38 What law? 00:41:57.41\00:41:58.75 Let's go to the very next question, 00:41:58.78\00:42:00.48 the very next question. 00:42:00.52\00:42:02.02 How do we know 00:42:02.05\00:42:05.52 that everything we do will be judged? 00:42:05.55\00:42:07.99 First of all, we know that the law is going to be 00:42:08.02\00:42:09.49 involved in that. 00:42:09.52\00:42:10.86 Let's find out what law that is. 00:42:10.89\00:42:12.76 Let's go to Ecclesiastes 00:42:12.79\00:42:17.23 12:13-14, 00:42:17.27\00:42:22.47 Ecclesiastes 12:13-14. 00:42:22.50\00:42:29.34 I went to, I worked on a particular project 00:42:33.01\00:42:35.68 with a lawyer once, 00:42:35.72\00:42:37.05 this had nothing to do with a case, 00:42:37.09\00:42:38.65 had nothing to do with the trial. 00:42:38.69\00:42:40.86 This lawyer was involved in a number of other things. 00:42:40.89\00:42:43.36 And so I was invited to go where he was, 00:42:43.39\00:42:46.63 and prepare a project for him. 00:42:46.66\00:42:49.30 And he said, I want to take a picture 00:42:49.33\00:42:51.77 in the law library, 00:42:51.80\00:42:54.04 and I walked in the law library 00:42:54.07\00:42:56.64 and I looked at the amount of books 00:42:56.67\00:43:01.24 that were there. 00:43:01.28\00:43:02.61 And he said, 00:43:02.64\00:43:03.98 every year more get added to that. 00:43:04.01\00:43:06.55 I see, you mean that's not it? 00:43:06.58\00:43:07.92 He's said, oh, no, that's not it by far, 00:43:07.95\00:43:10.49 every year more and I said, what are those books? 00:43:10.52\00:43:13.76 He said those books are not just the laws 00:43:13.79\00:43:16.56 that are put there by the judicial system 00:43:16.59\00:43:20.26 of the city in which we live in and the Supreme Court, 00:43:20.30\00:43:22.63 but every year the books that get added are cases 00:43:22.66\00:43:25.90 that have taken place between 2011 and 2012 00:43:25.93\00:43:29.77 or 2012 to 13 and 13 to 14. 00:43:29.80\00:43:32.07 They had all these books, they document everything. 00:43:32.11\00:43:34.78 So you can say, 00:43:34.81\00:43:36.71 case number 653 on January 2, 1995, 00:43:36.75\00:43:42.92 Mark versus Jenny, 00:43:42.95\00:43:45.15 you could cite that case, 00:43:45.19\00:43:46.82 everything that we do is recorded 00:43:46.86\00:43:53.66 and I thought, man, 00:43:53.70\00:43:55.40 so if I win, 00:43:55.43\00:43:57.13 somebody could come back years later and cite 00:43:57.17\00:44:00.50 why and how I won 00:44:00.54\00:44:02.94 and use the same methods to win in a similar situation. 00:44:02.97\00:44:06.17 It's amazing. 00:44:06.21\00:44:07.54 You got to take some time, huh? 00:44:07.58\00:44:09.24 Yeah, this whole one 00:44:09.28\00:44:10.61 that we've heard for many years, 00:44:10.65\00:44:11.98 Roe versus Wade, you've heard that one. 00:44:12.01\00:44:13.88 That's been going on for decades, 00:44:13.92\00:44:16.08 much of my adult life, Roe v. Wade. 00:44:16.12\00:44:18.65 That's it, they've shortened Roe v. Wade, 00:44:18.69\00:44:21.06 and the case where Roe... 00:44:21.09\00:44:22.42 It's amazing, and that's been recorded. 00:44:22.46\00:44:24.13 They go back and cite that case law. 00:44:24.16\00:44:26.29 But let's look at how the Bible describes this. 00:44:26.33\00:44:28.16 How do we know that everything will be judged? 00:44:28.20\00:44:30.37 The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 12:13, 00:44:30.40\00:44:34.57 "Let us hear the conclusion 00:44:34.60\00:44:37.41 of the whole matter. 00:44:37.44\00:44:41.68 Fear God, and keep His commandments, 00:44:41.71\00:44:44.38 for this is the whole duty of man. 00:44:44.41\00:44:47.68 For God will bring every work into judgment, 00:44:47.72\00:44:51.72 with every," what kind of thing? 00:44:51.75\00:44:54.16 "Secret thing, whether it be good, 00:44:54.19\00:44:56.49 or whether it be," what? 00:44:56.52\00:44:57.86 "Evil." 00:44:57.89\00:44:59.23 Now, you know, if you read that text, 00:44:59.26\00:45:00.60 you would think, "Oh man, I'm in trouble." 00:45:00.63\00:45:04.13 But I want to pause and say the fear 00:45:04.17\00:45:06.40 that we can find that can grip us. 00:45:06.43\00:45:09.30 The fear that will grip us 00:45:09.34\00:45:10.67 is because we don't know the Lord is our Savior. 00:45:10.71\00:45:12.91 But when you know the Lord is your Savior, 00:45:12.94\00:45:15.24 then that fear is no longer there, 00:45:15.28\00:45:16.61 we'll find out. 00:45:16.64\00:45:17.98 I'm not going to jump ahead of myself, you'll find out. 00:45:18.01\00:45:19.75 In other words, 00:45:19.78\00:45:21.12 you better have a good what? 00:45:21.15\00:45:24.05 You better have a good lawyer, 00:45:24.09\00:45:25.55 because Jesus is not the prosecutor. 00:45:25.59\00:45:27.92 He is the defense attorney. 00:45:27.96\00:45:31.63 He's defending us. 00:45:31.66\00:45:33.80 He is arguing in our behalf. 00:45:33.83\00:45:38.03 Because you know, you can't come 00:45:38.07\00:45:39.60 to the court and say, 00:45:39.63\00:45:40.97 well, your Honor, I could give you five reasons 00:45:41.00\00:45:43.77 why I need to be saved. 00:45:43.81\00:45:47.28 Not of works, lest any man should what? 00:45:47.31\00:45:49.11 Boast. 00:45:49.14\00:45:50.48 There's no reasons on our part. 00:45:50.51\00:45:51.91 So the encouraging thing is, 00:45:51.95\00:45:55.12 we are called to labor for the Lord 00:45:55.15\00:45:57.39 but our labor is not propitious to our salvation, 00:45:57.42\00:46:01.39 it's not contingent. 00:46:01.42\00:46:02.76 Our salvation is not contingent on the work that we do, 00:46:02.79\00:46:05.89 for it is God who works in us both to will 00:46:05.93\00:46:07.93 and to do of His good pleasure. 00:46:07.96\00:46:09.50 The Holy Spirit's working in us and through us. 00:46:09.53\00:46:11.93 So the answer, how do we know 00:46:11.97\00:46:13.30 that everything we do will be judged? 00:46:13.34\00:46:15.37 It says, 00:46:15.40\00:46:17.47 "Every secret thing, whether it be," what? 00:46:17.51\00:46:20.64 "Good or whether it be," what? 00:46:20.68\00:46:22.58 Oh man, what a text? 00:46:22.61\00:46:24.65 What a text? 00:46:24.68\00:46:26.68 I'm gonna share a text in a moment here, 00:46:26.72\00:46:30.79 because what let's go to Hebrews. 00:46:30.82\00:46:32.59 Let's go to Hebrews. 00:46:32.62\00:46:33.96 I see the verses here in the lesson, 00:46:33.99\00:46:35.82 but I can cite it because I'm going to use 00:46:35.86\00:46:37.86 a verse a little earlier than that. 00:46:37.89\00:46:40.43 Okay. 00:46:40.46\00:46:43.50 Okay. 00:46:43.53\00:46:44.87 Let's see. 00:46:48.74\00:46:50.91 Let's, okay. Let's look at this. 00:46:50.94\00:46:52.54 Okay. 00:46:52.57\00:46:55.44 Hebrews 4:12, 00:46:55.48\00:46:58.45 and by the way, 00:46:58.48\00:46:59.81 let me add the answer into question number four. 00:46:59.85\00:47:02.28 The commandments of God 00:47:02.32\00:47:04.05 is the standard by which we are going 00:47:04.09\00:47:06.12 to be judged. 00:47:06.15\00:47:07.49 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter, 00:47:07.52\00:47:08.86 fear God and keep His commandments. 00:47:08.89\00:47:10.76 That is, that is and I want to put this 00:47:10.79\00:47:12.96 in the right context. 00:47:12.99\00:47:14.40 We're not saying, 00:47:14.43\00:47:15.76 Oh, you know, this week, I'm up to number eight, 00:47:15.80\00:47:18.43 I got aided and perfected. 00:47:18.47\00:47:20.67 I just need to work on two more, 00:47:20.70\00:47:22.24 and then I'll be good. 00:47:22.27\00:47:24.01 And then you call your friend after like nine more months. 00:47:24.04\00:47:26.61 Hey, guess what? 00:47:26.64\00:47:27.98 Today I completed the tenth commandment. 00:47:28.01\00:47:31.05 I'm saved. 00:47:31.08\00:47:32.75 I'm good. 00:47:32.78\00:47:34.75 Is there any of us that are good? 00:47:34.78\00:47:36.62 No, not one. 00:47:36.65\00:47:38.02 It's the standard by which we shall be judged. 00:47:38.05\00:47:41.02 We're going to give you some more information 00:47:41.06\00:47:43.19 in just a moment. 00:47:43.22\00:47:44.56 Why God calls us to keep the commandments, 00:47:44.59\00:47:46.53 if the commandments are not the reason 00:47:46.56\00:47:49.06 why we're going to be saved? 00:47:49.10\00:47:50.57 All right. 00:47:50.60\00:47:51.93 We'll see that in a moment. 00:47:51.97\00:47:53.30 I could just... 00:47:53.34\00:47:54.67 I'll just give you this little tidbit. 00:47:54.70\00:47:56.04 We don't keep the commandments to be saved, 00:47:56.07\00:47:57.67 we keep the commandments 00:47:57.71\00:47:59.04 because we are in a saving relationship. 00:47:59.07\00:48:01.44 It is the parameters. 00:48:01.48\00:48:02.81 Let me use a story to illustrate this. 00:48:02.84\00:48:04.21 Now I talked about all the books in the court. 00:48:04.25\00:48:06.95 When my wife and I decided to get married, 00:48:06.98\00:48:08.78 we did not go down to the courthouse in Brooklyn, 00:48:08.82\00:48:13.42 and say, 00:48:13.46\00:48:15.92 I'd like to read all the books that you have about marriage, 00:48:15.96\00:48:20.00 that all the laws that govern a relationship. 00:48:20.03\00:48:22.90 I want to read them all just to make sure 00:48:22.93\00:48:24.43 that when I get married, I could do all that. 00:48:24.47\00:48:28.70 Can you imagine how that would be? 00:48:28.74\00:48:30.81 Can you imagine that? 00:48:30.84\00:48:33.01 You might walk into that, the judge may say, 00:48:33.04\00:48:35.58 do you really 00:48:35.61\00:48:37.38 want to see all the books 00:48:37.41\00:48:40.18 in the laws of this state 00:48:40.22\00:48:42.22 as it pertains to a marriage relationship? 00:48:42.25\00:48:44.65 Well, now that I'm a counselor, 00:48:44.69\00:48:47.46 I do a lot of couple counseling. 00:48:47.49\00:48:49.72 I'm aware of certain states like they say, 00:48:49.76\00:48:51.33 well, this state if you're getting divorce, 00:48:51.36\00:48:52.93 it's a 50-50 state. 00:48:52.96\00:48:54.66 You know, when people are thinking 00:48:54.70\00:48:56.03 about their relationships falling apart, 00:48:56.06\00:48:57.60 that's the only time they want to be concerned 00:48:57.63\00:48:58.97 with the law. 00:48:59.00\00:49:00.34 Well, this is a state where if you break up 00:49:00.37\00:49:02.40 and you have a house together where you got to split it 00:49:02.44\00:49:05.24 or well, this is the state where custody is 50-50. 00:49:05.27\00:49:08.61 All of a sudden they become familiar with the law. 00:49:08.64\00:49:10.31 But here's my point. 00:49:10.35\00:49:12.15 I didn't need any laws, I didn't need to read laws 00:49:12.18\00:49:15.82 before I decided to marry my wife 00:49:15.85\00:49:17.59 because I was marrying her because I what? 00:49:17.62\00:49:20.42 Loved her and so my love for her, 00:49:20.46\00:49:24.06 all those laws were in place 00:49:24.09\00:49:28.66 just because of my love for her. 00:49:28.70\00:49:30.63 That's how the law says, this is the love of God 00:49:30.67\00:49:32.27 that we keep His commandments, 00:49:32.30\00:49:33.64 and His commandments are not burdensome. 00:49:33.67\00:49:35.97 If my relationship was, 00:49:36.00\00:49:37.47 you know, Honey, I'm on book five, 00:49:37.51\00:49:39.71 page 19, paragraph 7. 00:49:39.74\00:49:42.08 I'm really working hard on this one for my marriage, 00:49:42.11\00:49:44.61 I don't know if I'm going to get it 00:49:44.65\00:49:45.98 but we got time, don't we? 00:49:46.01\00:49:48.62 Praise the Lord. 00:49:48.65\00:49:49.98 It is our love relationship 00:49:50.02\00:49:51.72 that holds the commandments of God in the right standing 00:49:51.75\00:49:56.12 between us and Him. 00:49:56.16\00:49:57.89 And the Holy Spirit has everything to do with that. 00:49:57.93\00:50:00.86 All right? 00:50:00.90\00:50:02.23 Now where are we going? 00:50:02.26\00:50:03.60 Hebrews 4, look at this, 00:50:03.63\00:50:05.07 Hebrews 4. 00:50:05.10\00:50:06.90 Because when I talked about 00:50:06.94\00:50:10.94 how there's nothing going to be hidden, 00:50:10.97\00:50:12.31 Look at verse 12, 00:50:12.34\00:50:14.21 "For the Word of God is living 00:50:14.24\00:50:16.48 and powerful or powerful and quick" 00:50:16.51\00:50:18.78 as the King James Version says, look at that, 00:50:18.81\00:50:21.75 "sharper than any two edged sword," 00:50:21.78\00:50:23.92 look at how deeply it gets, 00:50:23.95\00:50:25.95 "piercing even to the division," of what? 00:50:25.99\00:50:29.39 "Soul and spirit and of joints and marrow," 00:50:29.42\00:50:32.63 and look at the rest of the verse, 00:50:32.66\00:50:34.10 and this is very powerful when it comes, 00:50:34.13\00:50:36.00 "and is a discerner of the," what? 00:50:36.03\00:50:39.07 "Thoughts and intents of the heart." 00:50:39.10\00:50:42.10 I'm going to come back to that in the moment. 00:50:42.14\00:50:44.61 "And there is no creature..." 00:50:44.64\00:50:45.97 Look at verse 13, 00:50:46.01\00:50:47.34 "And there is no creature hidden from his sight 00:50:47.38\00:50:51.41 but all things are naked and open to the eyes of him 00:50:51.45\00:50:54.65 to whom we must," do what? 00:50:54.68\00:50:56.65 "Give an account." 00:50:56.69\00:50:59.35 Isn't that amazing? isn't that frightening? 00:50:59.39\00:51:01.59 I've seen criminals just about to create... 00:51:01.62\00:51:04.03 You know, these hidden cameras, 00:51:04.06\00:51:05.39 there're cameras every place nowadays. 00:51:05.43\00:51:09.06 Periodically somebody will put something on Facebook 00:51:09.10\00:51:11.73 or you see something on some kind of video feed in, 00:51:11.77\00:51:15.40 and they'll show some of the dumbest criminals 00:51:15.44\00:51:17.64 looking around, 00:51:17.67\00:51:19.01 looking around and this is all caught on tape. 00:51:19.04\00:51:22.71 The point of the matter is we live our lives 00:51:22.74\00:51:24.71 and everything we do in the eyes of God is what?
