Adventist, Anglican, Catholic,

those are denominations,

but identified
churches in America,

there are more than
33,000 registered churches,

anywhere from an
independent church

owned by one individual

to a church belonging
to an entire organization.

And so when you talk about

the churches owned the Bible
and the Church of the Dark Ages

So whatever copies
of the Bible they were,

they were chained to the altars

in the cathedrals in throughout
different stations in Europe,

but the Roman Church
was over all the churches

that existed at the time.

And so whatever was taught

that people had
to simply accept it

as being found in God's Word.

For that reason,
during that time period,

many doctrines
crept into the church.

Let me not use the word crept,
they were sold to the church.

You know, you can only creep in

if there's
something already there.

That's true.

But many doctrines were taught

to the church
that were not true.

Matter of fact,
there's a new movie,

not a new movie, but
another showing of a movie

that came out a
number of years ago

called Left Behind.

And that somebody
told me about this,

this famous actor by
the name of Nicolas Cage,

who's gonna be
starring as the chief star

in this movie Left Behind,

communicating the
idea that people disappear.

And, you know, while
they're flying the plane,

if they're
Christian, the pilot disappears.

Or if they're driving a
car, the driver disappears.

And various things
happen around the world.

Well, that was
one of the teachings

that were born
during the Dark Ages,

known as the gap theory,

or the tribulation,

or the rapture theory.

It was also
called the gap theory

because it jumped from the
69th to the 70th week in Daniel,

by many, many, many,
many, many, many years,

hundreds of years
between those two periods.

But that's in the church today,

are the teaching about
an eternally burning hell

was introduced into the church,

the teaching of infant
baptism, and purgatory,

and limbo were introduced
into the church at that time.

So many of the things
being taught in the church today

were not there in
the initial stages
00:09:56.06\00:09:59.83
of the teachings of Jesus,

and they were not
found in the Bible,

but they were
introduced during the Dark Ages

when the light was turned off.

So tonight, what
we're gonna do is

go through God's Word together

gonna go back to the Bible.

In other words, what
happened to bring people

was called the Reformation.

story of Martin Luther,
