the Lord made the
heavens and the earth.

So Jesus connected
the day that He sanctified

with the seventh day of the week

and He called it the Sabbath.

So here's the
point I want to make,

very important tonight.

If sin never entered the world,

issue about the Sabbath.

But also if sin
never entered the world,

issue about marriage.

And in our world today,

two things that God established
before sin entered the world

or under the vehement attack,
the family, the marriage,

and I don't say
traditional marriage,

I say biblical marriage.

Because this phrase is
used in traditional marriage.

Well, you could
break traditions.

Traditions, just
as good as the society

It's not
traditional, it's scriptural.

The Sabbath is not

That's what's wrong
with our world today.

They're getting
away from the Bible.

And so when
they argue tradition,

I heard the story about a
lady who once used to cut off.

And we don't need ham.

But it fits into the story here

because this is the
context of the story.

Lady was married,
and she said to...

She'd always cut off two inches
of the ham before she baked it.

And her husband
said, "Why do you do that?"

"So my mother does that.
00:08:30.57\00:08:31.91
I think it maybe
adds to the taste."

She asks the same,
"Mom, why do you do that?"

"Well, that's my
grandmother did that.

And I don't know,
let's ask grandma."

It just so happened that
grandma was still around.

They asked grandma,
"Why did you do that?"

She said, "It was
too big for the pan."

But it was a tradition.

Sometimes people do
things they don't know why.

They just do it
because somebody else did it.

I remember years ago
when I was in California,

Pastor Doug Batchelor
and I and Alan Reinach,

I invited him to
join me on a program,

where we discussed the Sabbath.

And I was amazed that
the pastor who invited us

said he's an
honest man, and he is,

but he did not know

what the Bible
taught about the Sabbath.

And so he introduced
us and had that program.

What we want to
make sure tonight

is that everything we
do is found in God's Word.

Is that okay?

Because that's
the best foundation,

that's the only foundation.

we have a seven-day week

aside from all the other days

The Sabbath is a blessing to us

us to physical rest

Whenever my wife and I
celebrate our anniversary,

That's what we like to do.

It's a special event.

We say, "Well, this is
the day that we were blessed.

This is the day
that we were sanctified."

So we keep that day just to us.

Now keep this in mind.

The Sabbath is
not a sanctified hour.

It's not a sanctified two hours,

you don't just go to church,

the baseball game,

and to the basketball

other outdoor activity

The Sabbath is a 24-hour period,

that belongs just to Him.

The seventh day is the
Sabbath of the Lord your God.

So the question
is, if you find out...

The other thing we learned

The other thing we learned

The reason why
God blessed Abraham

is because Abraham
kept God's commandments.

So the commandments
existed long before Sinai.

God tested them

to see whether not
they would be faithful

So the Sabbath

arguing whether or not

one did Jesus honor?
