to look at a statement

Paul to the Corinthians.

You know, when the
Bible talks about worship.

So often people think that
worship is just what you sing

or how you teach
or how you preach,

but when you follow the Bible,

the Lord broadens
that to let us know

that what we do with
our bodies and to our bodies

is also a symbol of
worship to the true God.

God has the authority

to make that
kind of a claim on us.

temple of the Holy Spirit

who is in you,

We don't belong to us.

And if you think about that,

the Bible says the
Holy Spirit lives in here.

So if you think about that,
that's a very true statement,

because I'm gonna go to
verse 20 in just a moment,

because when Jesus
talks about being redeemed

and being
cleansed, one of the things

He talks about is
the redemption that comes

and people that
are often possess

in the Bible and the gospel,

Jesus talks about a person
who had been freed from demons.

From one demon particularly
and the house was swept

and the house was
clean, but the house was empty,

and the demons came back
00:07:45.29\00:07:47.76
examining the
person's life to see

if there were any "openings"

and they found the
house swept, no more sin.

Clean, no more
past record but empty.

Meaning the person did
not invite the Holy Spirit

to come into his or her life.

And what happened
as a result of that?

He brought with him
seven demons worst than before

and the Bible
says the latter end

was worse with that
individual than the beginning.

So when the Bible says
the Holy Spirit dwells in us

when you come into a
relationship with Jesus,

that old spirit is gone

and then the new spirit come in.

That's why the Bible
says the fruit, you know,

who is living there.

The fruit of the spirit is what?

Love, joy, peace,
long-suffering, gentleness,

The fruit show up.

So you will know who is
living there by the fruit.

By their fruits
you will know them.

So when there are
fruit on the inside,

because some people think that

"Well, right now I
have the fruit of joy,

but I don't have

But what I want you to know
is it all comes in one bite.

It's all in that single fruit.

Not the fruits of the spirit
but the fruit of the spirit.

The outward working of
the Spirit of God in our lives

is love, joy,
peace, long-suffering,

gentleness, meekness, patience.

So the spirit has
moved in and said,

"This is my house.

Now I'm the landlord and
what you do with my house,

I'm concerned about it."

And notice what he
says, here's the reason why.

He moves in, he moves
into the body of temple.

And then the Bible says in
verse 20 of 1 Corinthians 6.

"For you were bought at a" what?

"Price, therefore
glorify God in your body

and in your
spirit, which are God's."

Lot of times people want
to glorify God in the spirit.

You've heard lot of Christians
that's a terminology nowadays

they say "I'm in the spirit."

To be in the
spirit also means to be

concerned about what
we do with our bodies.

So if we are in the spirit,
we should be just as concerned

as to what the spirit
want us to do this temple

that belongs to God,
it doesn't belong to us.

We are bought at a price

on laying that foundation,

show you a couple of things

He told them to talk
all the precious metals,

all the gold, the
silver, the precious stones,

the expensive clothing in
Egypt and carry it with them

because he had a
use for those things.

He was going to build a temple,
00:10:41.40\00:10:44.37
a sanctuary for
a supportable one
00:10:44.41\00:10:46.88
and then a permanent one

when they get to
the Promised Land.

The children in Israel
in turn decided to wear it.

But the Lord gave us in
His word some glimpses of

what the purpose of
those precious stones were

and what the purpose of the gold

and the silver was, right.

So look at these two pictures
because the Lord talked about

first of all the
high priest garment.

That's the Urim
where God responded

if there was an issue
that could not be settled

between the judges in Israel,

God will be asked to
be the final verdict.

And if there was yes, well,
if God was approving of it,

the white stone would radiate.

If God was not approving of it,

the dark stone would radiate.

So you had on the breastplate

the high priest wore.

Now let me ask you the question.

priest? What's his name?

two areas of struggle

Music is more like the world

dressing more like the world.

that that is an issue in
many Christian churches today.

First of all the
