fellow who's gotten himself

sort of run after the devil,

just another testament to the

to restless children who

can't wait to get out of
the car after a long road trip.

And you know, we've
been living in this world

for over 6000 years now.

And many restless generations
have asked the question,

"Are we there yet?"

"When are we going home?"

"How much longer will it take?"

And heaven's answer to us
is that we're almost home.

As we see terrorism rearing
its ugly head in our streets

and neighborhoods, and
even knocking on our door,

We often wonder how
many more people have to die?

When will all
the pain be finished?
00:09:33.47\00:09:35.50
Heaven's answer to
us, "We're almost home."

As we see natural disasters
ripping up the foundation
00:09:38.84\00:09:41.38
of our homes and stripping
the stability of our lives,

we cry out, "When
will we ever be safe?
00:09:45.38\00:09:47.68
How much more
people have to die?"
00:09:48.02\00:09:49.78
Heaven's answer,
"We're almost home."

As our loved ones are
taken from us by cancer,

stripped away from
us by disease and death,

and our hearts groan
with pain and agony too heavy

for human ears to
hear, and we ask God,

"Why have You
allowed this to happen to me?

When will You come
back to put an end to the

pain and suffering?"

Heaven's answer to us is
that, "We're almost home."

These two words which is
our theme for this weekend

reminds us that this
world is not our home.

We're just
passing through, amen?

We're on our way
to the Promised Land.

And so these words, "almost
home," inspire us with the

holy faith to hang on, to hold
on, and keep moving forward,

because heaven is
just around the corner.

We're almost home.

But friends, before we can
enter into our heavenly home,

there is an earthly
preparation that we all must be

engaged in this evening.

The prophet wrote these
words over a hundred years ago

in the book,
Evangelism, page 219.

It says, "All
heaven is astir..."
00:10:50.15\00:10:52.98
And friends, as we consider
the condition of our world,
00:11:17.77\00:11:21.08
we realize that these
words are more true now
00:11:21.11\00:11:23.95
than it's ever been before.
00:11:23.98\00:11:25.48
For we live in a
world that is in the midst
00:11:25.51\00:11:28.28
of a terrible crisis.
00:11:28.32\00:11:30.79
We see natural
disasters quickly increasing
00:11:30.82\00:11:33.29
in intensity and frequency.
00:11:33.32\00:11:35.29
We see moral and political
corruption all around us.
00:11:35.32\00:11:39.09
Economic instability
that is stripping our fiscal
00:11:39.19\00:11:42.06
and financial
freedom and security.
00:11:42.10\00:11:44.13
Religious relativism
sweeping the Christian world
00:11:44.23\00:11:47.10
into compromising ecumenism.
00:11:47.14\00:11:49.14
We see terrorism stripping away
our sense of peace and safety.
00:11:49.37\00:11:53.21
And national and
international unrest
00:11:53.31\00:11:55.81
that's awakening
within people a blind desire
00:11:55.84\00:11:58.81
for peace and
safety, but it's at the cost
00:11:58.85\00:12:02.45
and the sacrifice of
civil and religious freedom.
00:12:02.48\00:12:05.62
And friends, as things are
rapidly getting worse and worse
00:12:05.99\00:12:08.56
down here, the intensity
of the salvation operation
00:12:08.59\00:12:13.40
is escalating up there.
00:12:13.60\00:12:15.50
Like the quote we just read.
00:12:15.80\00:12:17.13
It says that all of
heaven is engaged in preparing
00:12:17.53\00:12:20.94
for the day of
vengeance and deliverance.

And so in light of that
quotation, which basically
00:12:23.41\00:12:26.57
builds the foundation
for our theme this weekend,

we want to ask two questions.
00:12:29.21\00:12:30.85
Question number one, what
exactly is heaven doing up there
00:12:30.88\00:12:34.72
in preparing for the
day of God's vengeance?

And then question number
two, what is God calling us
00:12:37.49\00:12:40.39
to do down here to prepare
for the day of our deliverance?
00:12:40.42\00:12:44.39
And we want to
answer those two questions
00:12:44.49\00:12:46.59
in that sequential order.

Because, friends, only
as we first understand what
00:12:48.46\00:12:51.03
heaven is doing up there will
we then be able to understand

what God is
calling us to do down here.

And so in the next few
nights we will address subjects

that give a very solid
answer to those two questions.

Psalm 80:1, the Bible says...

Here, we find the psalmist
is appealing to the great

God of heaven to lend His ear.

He pleads with the
sweet Shepherd of Israel,
00:14:44.58\00:14:46.92
the One that leads
Joseph like a flock.
00:14:46.95\00:14:49.12
He invoking the one that
dwells between the two cherubims
00:14:49.32\00:14:52.29
in the Most Holy Place
of the heavenly Sanctuary.
00:14:52.49\00:14:54.82
And his prayer is simple
and profound at the same time.

He's asking for God to
shine His face upon him.

And this prayer is so urgent,
so desperate, that he actually

repeats it three
times in the chapter.

Again in verse 7 and
again in verse 19, his prayer,

"Turn Your face upon us.

Cause Your face to shine.

And we will be saved."

You see, the
psalmist understands
00:15:16.91\00:15:18.98
that salvation is found
when we see the face of God.

But what exactly does it
mean to see the face of God?

What about the face of
God brings eternal salvation?

The Bible gives us the answer
in the book of Proverbs 16:15.

So the Bible tells us that
in the countenance of the king

is three things: there's life,
light, and the latter rain.

And so as we look
upon the face of God,

everything that we need in order
to survive in these last days

is actually found in God's face.
00:16:02.62\00:16:04.56
We need His light in
this world of darkness.

We desperately need
the life of God in this

world full of decay and death.
00:16:09.46\00:16:11.57
And we need the latter rain
in this dry and thirsty land
00:16:11.87\00:16:15.84
where it seems to
have no spiritual water.

And so, I invite us this evening
to look upon the face of God
00:16:18.97\00:16:24.31
by faith, that we
might behold the King
00:16:24.35\00:16:27.12
in all of its beauty, that
we might receive the light,
00:16:27.15\00:16:30.29
the life, and the
latter rain of the Lord.
00:16:30.32\00:16:33.49
You see, friends, from
the very beginning of time,
00:16:33.66\00:16:35.76
God desired for
us to see His face.
00:16:36.09\00:16:39.66
This was His original
plan when He created us.
00:16:39.76\00:16:43.43
It was the privilege of
our first parents Adam and Eve
00:16:43.63\00:16:46.03
to be able to look into the
face of their kingly Creator.
00:16:46.07\00:16:50.04
There was no veil of
separation between God and man.
00:16:50.07\00:16:53.94
And this is how
God meant it to be.
00:16:54.04\00:16:56.08
But unfortunately, this
face to face relationship
00:16:56.28\00:16:59.15
was short lived.
00:16:59.18\00:17:00.52
Sadly and tragically,
sin severed this relationship
00:17:00.55\00:17:03.75
and erected a veil of
separation between God and man.

And that's the reason why
the Bible says in Isaiah 59:2,

notice what it says...
00:17:11.39\00:17:12.73
Because of our sins, we
were separated from God.
00:17:23.20\00:17:26.31
No longer were we able to look
into the face of God and live.
00:17:26.51\00:17:30.35
Because of sin, God's
presence would be to us

like a consuming fire.
00:17:32.95\00:17:34.58
Sin made us unfit
for fellowship with Him.

And so as a result,
the salvation operation

was set in motion to restore
this face to face communion

and fellowship with God.

You see, friends,
what God wants to do,

He wants to remove the veil
so that He can kiss His bride.

He wants to see us face to face.

He wants to give us His light,
His life, and the latter rain

that's found in His face.

How many want to see the
face of God tonight, amen?

And so we want to find
out what does this mean

practically and personally.

What does the face
of God reveal to us?

The Bible gives us the
answer in 2 Corinthians 4:6.

Here, the Bible tells us
that when you look into the face

of Jesus Christ, you see
the light of the knowledge

of the glory, or
the character, of God.

So to look into God's
face simply means to understand

the knowledge of who God is,
His glorious character of love.

You remember the story when
Moses was upon the mountaintop.

And he said, "Lord,
show me Your glory."

And God showed him His face.

Not His literal face, but
He showed him His character.

And that's what it
means when the Bible says that

Moses had a face to
face relationship with God.

He did not see the
literal face of God,

but he beheld the
beautiful character of God.

And so the question is,
what has God given to us

that reveals His
face or His glory to us?

to us the ways of God.

It's the way in which God
is seeking to remove the veil

that we might come back
into His glorious presence.

wondering in the wilderness,

You see, my friends, that
Sanctuary was God's way of

coming close to the human
race without us being consumed

by His glory in the process.

Because our God,
friends, is an intimate God.

He's a God of
connection, a God of communion.

A God that simply wants
to be close to you and to me.

The Sanctuary veiled His glory
so that He could draw close,

three main parts to it.

The second veil or door was the
entrance to the Most Holy Place.

The Bible calls

The entrance into the
Most Holy Place was called,

He accepted me just as I was.

But He loved me enough not
to leave me in that condition.

He was the one that
brought the change and

transformation in my life.

And so there's an ever open veil
right there at the entrance.

They thought, "Now our
enemies will be vanquished.

But they saw that Jesus,
instead of going to the throne,

He went to the altar.

They saw their King crowned,
not with a royal diadem,

but a crown of thorns.

They saw Him nailed
to the cross instead of

exalted on the throne.

And when the disciples
saw that, their hopes were

dreams were dashed to pieces.

They experienced a bitter,
devastating disappointment.

The reality is, friends,
that cross should have been

their greatest rejoicing.

brought them one step closer

You see, the moment Jesus died,
the veil in that earthy temple

signifying the heavenly ministry

the earthly ministry.

And so mankind, in Christ, is
brought one step closer to God.

have rejoiced because of that.

were disappointed.

around this prophetic date

Revival, history tells us, was
sweeping across the churches.

As people studied
the 2300 day prophecy

they believed that this was
pointing to the return of Jesus

anticipation and expectancy

They thought that the
final veil would be removed

and now they would
see God face to face.

But we know that
1844 came and went.

And those pioneers
were bitterly disappointed.

That which was at

took place in 1844?

Those pioneers, for
them it wasn't rejoicing.

a bitter disappointment.

misapplied Bible prophecy.

They pleaded for light

They would spend

in prayer and Bible study.

And upon further investigation,
they realized that they had

the right date,
but the wrong event.

They thought that the
Sanctuary was the earth,

but they were
wrong in that assumption.

However, the Spirit led
them to the book of Hebrews

where they learned that
there was a Sanctuary in heaven.

And when they understood
that, they realized that Jesus

was blotting out their sins;

preparing His
people for His soon return,

to begin a work of cleansing,
to secure the final atonement.

And now they understood
the true significance of 1844.

And as a result, was
born the remnant church

of Bible prophecy.

A movement that would
sweep across the whole world

to restore all
truth in these last days.

These three angels
would shake the world

like a mighty earthquake.

And just like the early church,
lightnings, and thunderings,

and voices was heard once
again as this movement spread

spirit-filled truth
to every nation, kindred,

Revival and

And the rain began to fall.

The second veil now is
opened to their understanding.

They knew where Jesus was and

prophetic significance

parallels between the two.

before this final storm hits,

That is the Sanctuary, the
shelter, in the time of storm.

refuge in an hour of crisis.

re-opening of the second veil

is a lot more serious
than its previous openings.

Now what is the
significance of this vision?

You see, in the Old
Testament Sanctuary...

The first time was when the

Sanctuary to cleanse it and
to secure the final atonement.

And then the second
time was when the high priest

exited that Sanctuary to
bless the people waiting for him

on the outside.
00:46:22.48\00:46:23.81
And friends, that
represents the coming of Christ.

Soon and very soon,
our great High Priest

will lay off His
priestly garments,

and He will clothe
Himself in the regal robes

of King of kings
and Lord of lords.

He will come back to the earth
to give us an eternal blessing.

And when that takes
place, it will remove the veil,

that separates God and man.

It's then that we will
see our Lord face to face.

see the face of Jesus.

with a darkening veil between.

when His glory shall be seen.

revival surrounding the opening

of the first and second
veil with the early church,

as well as the
early remnant church,

so too the greatest and
the final revival will surround

the re-opening
of this second veil.

The revival of the
last days is just upon us.

There are many
powerful parallels,

some alarming differences.

Both the early apostolic church,

exact day or hour of His coming.
