00:05:37.70\00:05:45.74 there were even times I thought I'd lose my mind. 00:05:46.41\00:05:54.72 But I didn't know that just around the bend 00:05:55.38\00:06:03.19 stood the greatest hill that life could ever send. 00:06:03.76\00:06:12.80 And this time You gave me a mountain, dear Lord; 00:06:13.20\00:06:22.11 a mountain I'm too weak to climb. 00:06:22.14\00:06:30.82 And this time I need You like never before. 00:06:31.12\00:06:39.63 Hold my hand, guide my feet; 00:06:39.83\00:06:44.07 help me climb this mountain steep. 00:06:44.10\00:06:50.54 Through the pouring rain, the path I cannot see; 00:07:04.62\00:07:12.83 and the falling leaves say that winter's soon to be. 00:07:13.06\00:07:21.54 Yet in my heart I know Your way is best for me; 00:07:21.74\00:07:30.71 and these very trials have brought me to my knees. 00:07:31.41\00:07:40.12 And this time You gave me a mountain, dear Lord; 00:07:40.26\00:07:49.20 a mountain I'm too weak to climb. 00:07:49.30\00:07:57.77 And this time I need You like never before. 00:07:58.04\00:08:06.75 Hold my hand, guide my feet; 00:08:06.88\00:08:11.05 help me climb this mountain steep. 00:08:11.09\00:08:17.59 And this time You gave me a mountain; 00:08:18.39\00:08:26.57 a mountain I'm too weak to climb. 00:08:27.00\00:08:35.94 And this time I need You like never before. 00:08:36.08\00:08:44.55 Hold my hand, guide my feet; 00:08:44.65\00:08:48.99 help me climb this mountain steep. 00:08:49.02\00:08:55.76 And this time I need You like never before. 00:08:56.10\00:09:04.71 Hold my hand, guide my feet; 00:09:04.74\00:09:09.01 help me climb this mountain steep. 00:09:09.24\00:09:19.22 Amen. 00:09:24.53\00:09:25.86 This evening, Jeff Zaremsky, who leads two of our congregations, 00:09:27.03\00:09:33.70 and is also the director of the Shalom Adventure 00:09:33.74\00:09:38.41 outreach magazine for Jewish people, 00:09:39.01\00:09:41.68 will be our speaker. 00:09:41.71\00:09:43.45 Thank you for coming out tonight. 00:09:47.68\00:09:49.02 I find it better to say that in the beginning, 00:09:49.58\00:09:51.29 because at the end not everyone is always here. 00:09:51.32\00:09:53.89 So it's better to start with a, "Thank you for coming out." 00:09:53.92\00:09:56.69 What we want to talk about tonight will have to do with our 00:09:57.03\00:09:59.63 everlasting promises. 00:09:59.66\00:10:01.46 I'll be looking at that in relation to 00:10:01.50\00:10:03.47 dispensational theology, replacement theology, 00:10:03.50\00:10:06.60 old and new covenant, and what still applies today. 00:10:06.87\00:10:10.27 So all these things we'll wrap together. 00:10:10.31\00:10:12.84 Looking at the dispensational theology 00:10:13.68\00:10:15.51 and replacement theology. 00:10:15.54\00:10:17.05 I'm not going to talk about all the aspects of it, 00:10:17.08\00:10:18.91 but in relation to the everlasting promises 00:10:18.95\00:10:21.65 or the everlasting covenant the dispensationalists 00:10:21.68\00:10:25.05 basically teach that the Jewish people 00:10:25.35\00:10:28.89 were God's covenant people before Christ came, 00:10:28.92\00:10:32.66 and they continue to be God's covenant people 00:10:32.96\00:10:35.53 after Christ came. 00:10:35.90\00:10:37.40 That God gave the Jewish people specific promises 00:10:37.43\00:10:40.67 and specific commandments, and He's given to the Gentiles 00:10:40.70\00:10:44.27 other promises and other commandments. 00:10:44.37\00:10:46.31 Replacement theology basically teaches, in relation to 00:10:46.51\00:10:50.28 the covenant, is that the Jewish people 00:10:51.45\00:10:53.72 were God's covenant people before the cross, 00:10:53.92\00:10:57.29 before Christ came. 00:10:57.32\00:10:58.65 But then after Christ came, they were replaced... 00:10:58.99\00:11:02.66 That's where we get the term, replacement theology. 00:11:02.69\00:11:04.59 ...replaced with the church. 00:11:04.79\00:11:07.03 So we're going to look at this a little bit. 00:11:07.56\00:11:10.07 Let's look at a Bible text out of Romans chapter 11 verse 17. 00:11:10.10\00:11:14.27 It says, "...some of the branches were broken off..." 00:11:15.10\00:11:18.67 How many branches? 00:11:18.87\00:11:20.21 Some of the branches were broken off. 00:11:20.58\00:11:24.05 Now replacement theology kind of pictures it as 00:11:24.25\00:11:26.05 all the branches were broken off. 00:11:26.08\00:11:28.15 But it doesn't say that. It says, "some." 00:11:28.18\00:11:29.72 It doesn't say, "many." 00:11:29.75\00:11:31.09 It doesn't even say, "most." 00:11:31.12\00:11:32.45 It says, "...some of the branches were broken off..." 00:11:32.65\00:11:35.79 Now who were those branches? 00:11:35.86\00:11:37.59 Who were the branches that were broken off? 00:11:40.56\00:11:42.60 The Jewish people. Right. 00:11:44.47\00:11:45.80 And so then that's the, "some of the branches," 00:11:45.83\00:11:47.50 that were broken off. 00:11:47.54\00:11:48.87 Right? So then the rest of the branches that weren't 00:11:48.90\00:11:51.04 broken off, who were they? 00:11:51.07\00:11:53.04 The Jewish people as well. Right, exactly. 00:11:53.68\00:11:55.68 So some of the Jewish people were broken off, 00:11:55.71\00:11:57.55 the others who are outside of the, "some," 00:11:58.81\00:12:01.15 remained a part of the tree. 00:12:01.48\00:12:03.45 And then, "...you, being a wild olive tree, 00:12:03.92\00:12:07.09 were grafted in among them..." 00:12:07.12\00:12:09.12 Who's the, "you"? 00:12:09.16\00:12:10.49 The Gentiles, that's right. 00:12:11.63\00:12:13.03 Okay, and they were "grafted in among them." 00:12:13.06\00:12:15.56 Who is the, "them"? 00:12:15.60\00:12:16.93 The Jews. 00:12:17.03\00:12:18.37 Right, so the Gentiles are grafted in among the Jews. 00:12:18.40\00:12:21.70 With the Jews. 00:12:22.10\00:12:23.74 "...and became a partakers of the root 00:12:24.04\00:12:26.78 and the fatness of the olive tree..." 00:12:26.81\00:12:29.54 Who is, "the root and the fatness of the olive tree"? 00:12:29.68\00:12:32.45 Jesus, right. 00:12:34.12\00:12:35.45 God is the root; Jesus is the root and the 00:12:35.48\00:12:37.52 offspring of David, right? 00:12:37.55\00:12:38.89 The root of Jesse, comes from the root of Jesse, right? 00:12:38.95\00:12:40.96 He is the root. 00:12:40.99\00:12:42.32 He gives a parable, not about an olive tree, 00:12:42.36\00:12:43.86 but about a vine. 00:12:43.89\00:12:45.23 He is the vine, you are the branches, right? 00:12:45.26\00:12:46.83 So He is the source and we are the branches. 00:12:46.86\00:12:50.07 So in relation to replacement theology, 00:12:50.57\00:12:53.03 basically they cut down the tree. 00:12:53.07\00:12:54.90 They have the tree cut down to the root, and then the 00:12:55.17\00:12:57.21 wild olives branches are grafted into it. 00:12:57.51\00:13:00.24 They wouldn't explain it that way, but basically that's the 00:13:00.28\00:13:02.14 end result of that theology. 00:13:02.18\00:13:04.18 Dispensational theology says basically there's two trees. 00:13:04.21\00:13:08.02 And again, they wouldn't explain it that way, 00:13:08.12\00:13:09.45 but they have basically two different routes of salvation; 00:13:09.48\00:13:12.69 one for the Jews and one for the Gentiles. 00:13:12.72\00:13:14.59 But we see in the text itself, Romans 11:17, 00:13:14.62\00:13:17.33 that only some of the Jewish branches were broken off 00:13:17.53\00:13:21.26 and the Gentile branches were grafted in 00:13:21.46\00:13:24.07 among them and with them. 00:13:24.10\00:13:26.27 So we have one tree, one full tree, with Jesus as the root 00:13:26.30\00:13:30.87 and sustaining it all. 00:13:31.61\00:13:33.17 So Jews and Gentiles together. 00:13:33.21\00:13:35.24 Clear enough? 00:13:35.28\00:13:36.61 So both replacement theology and dispensational theology 00:13:36.91\00:13:39.81 are wrong. 00:13:40.15\00:13:41.48 Now they both have their Bible text and they both ignore the 00:13:41.55\00:13:45.42 Bible text of the other group. 00:13:45.45\00:13:46.92 And so there's a third option. 00:13:47.26\00:13:48.92 And it's neither one of those, dispensational 00:13:49.12\00:13:51.46 or replacement theology. 00:13:51.66\00:13:53.09 Even though the majority of Christianity 00:13:53.13\00:13:54.86 falls into either one of those two camps. 00:13:54.90\00:13:57.53 But from this text, and many others, it is blatantly wrong. 00:13:58.03\00:14:00.90 And many problems with it. 00:14:01.37\00:14:02.70 Dispensational theology lifts the Jews up on a pedestal, 00:14:02.74\00:14:06.14 replacement theology just throws them in the ditch. 00:14:06.17\00:14:08.61 And so neither one of those, as we see. 00:14:08.64\00:14:11.38 Let's look at an example here. 00:14:11.58\00:14:13.05 The Israel of God, or the covenant people of God. 00:14:13.58\00:14:16.32 We have Joshua, Aiken, and Rahab. 00:14:16.75\00:14:20.72 They all lived at the same time. 00:14:21.09\00:14:22.72 Their stories, their lives, overlap in the city of Jericho. 00:14:22.82\00:14:26.46 Joshua was the leader of the Israel nation right after Moses. 00:14:26.93\00:14:29.83 And he, by God's grace, takes us through the Jordon river, 00:14:30.07\00:14:33.23 brings us up to Jericho. 00:14:33.27\00:14:35.67 He is from the tribe of Ephraim. 00:14:36.10\00:14:38.24 And he's faithful to the Lord. 00:14:38.44\00:14:39.77 And the Bible records, at the end of the book of Joshua, 00:14:39.81\00:14:42.58 that he was faithful to the Lord all the days of his life, 00:14:42.61\00:14:47.05 and the people were faithful all the days that he reigned, 00:14:47.08\00:14:49.78 and all those that reigned along with him. 00:14:49.82\00:14:52.62 Aiken was of the tribe of Judah. 00:14:53.99\00:14:56.22 He was part of the Israel nation and part of the Israel army. 00:14:56.49\00:14:59.33 And he was involved in the attack on Jericho. 00:14:59.53\00:15:02.93 The walls of Jericho come tumbling down. 00:15:02.96\00:15:05.03 And God had said before they went into the battle that, 00:15:05.20\00:15:07.70 "This is the first city, so it's the tithe. 00:15:07.74\00:15:09.90 It all belongs to Me. 00:15:09.94\00:15:11.57 Everything is to be sacrificed. 00:15:12.84\00:15:14.64 Everything is to be killed. 00:15:15.21\00:15:16.54 And all the spoils go to Me. 00:15:16.58\00:15:19.58 It's the first city." 00:15:19.61\00:15:21.85 And Aiken didn't believe that, didn't agree with that. 00:15:22.45\00:15:25.62 And he decides, he sees some nice spoils; 00:15:25.65\00:15:27.69 some silver, some gold, and some nice clothing. 00:15:27.72\00:15:29.56 And he takes that and he buries it in his tent. 00:15:29.59\00:15:32.16 And God reveals to Joshua and the Israel nation 00:15:32.69\00:15:38.33 who was stealing and who was causing problems. 00:15:38.53\00:15:41.14 And it comes out and it turns out that it was Aiken. 00:15:41.17\00:15:45.31 And so Aiken is cut off and his family are cut off and killed 00:15:45.41\00:15:47.71 and executed from the nation. 00:15:47.91\00:15:50.05 Rahab was a person who lived in Jericho, 00:15:50.61\00:15:55.42 a Jerichoitess, a Canaanitess. 00:15:55.45\00:15:57.72 A prostitute living in the city of Jericho. 00:15:58.09\00:16:00.56 She had heard the stories of the parting of the Red Sea 00:16:01.19\00:16:03.73 that happened forty years prior. 00:16:03.76\00:16:05.56 She believed that, and she believed. 00:16:05.83\00:16:08.06 And she heard that Israel was coming, and she believed 00:16:08.10\00:16:10.87 in the Lord God of Israel. 00:16:10.90\00:16:12.23 And she believed that God was going to 00:16:12.33\00:16:14.34 work for them and with them. 00:16:14.54\00:16:15.87 And she protected two spies that came in. 00:16:15.90\00:16:18.24 And they tell her, "If you put this red cord out the window, 00:16:18.47\00:16:22.01 when we attack the city we will spare you and your family." 00:16:22.04\00:16:24.95 And she does; she believes them, and she does. 00:16:25.25\00:16:27.22 And she is spared. 00:16:27.25\00:16:28.58 And there is a Rahab in the genealogy of the Messiah. 00:16:28.68\00:16:31.12 Whether it's the same Rahab or not, I don't know. 00:16:31.15\00:16:33.02 But there is a Rahab mentioned there. 00:16:33.05\00:16:35.09 So which one of these, or which ones of these, either one, 00:16:36.52\00:16:39.93 are the covenant people of God, the Israel of God? 00:16:40.23\00:16:43.50 Joshua from the tribe of Ephraim. 00:16:43.93\00:16:47.80 Faithful commander. 00:16:48.34\00:16:49.67 Is he part of the Israel of God? 00:16:49.70\00:16:51.04 Amen? Okay? 00:16:51.97\00:16:53.31 How about Aiken? 00:16:53.34\00:16:54.68 From the tribe of Judah. 00:16:54.71\00:16:56.04 In the army. 00:16:56.08\00:16:57.41 Of the nation of Israel. 00:16:57.68\00:16:59.01 Is he part of the Israel of God? 00:16:59.05\00:17:01.05 No, he gets cut off. Right? He gets cut off. 00:17:04.99\00:17:07.72 How about Rahab? 00:17:07.76\00:17:09.09 A Canaanite, Jerichoitess. 00:17:09.72\00:17:12.03 Prostitute. 00:17:12.06\00:17:13.56 Is she a part of the Israel of God? 00:17:14.33\00:17:15.96 Yeah, she becomes grafted in, 00:17:16.67\00:17:18.00 becomes part of the nation of Israel. 00:17:18.03\00:17:19.47 She believes, and God accepts her in, right? 00:17:19.57\00:17:22.97 And so we have two; Joshua and Rahab, 00:17:23.17\00:17:28.58 a Jew and a Gentile, part of the Israel of God. 00:17:28.61\00:17:31.58 Part of the saved that will be in heaven. 00:17:31.88\00:17:33.62 And Aiken, born a Jew, who will be cut off. 00:17:33.65\00:17:36.69 So we have some, from that example right there, 00:17:37.35\00:17:39.05 we have some of the branches being broken off. 00:17:39.09\00:17:41.49 We have a wild olive branch being grafted in 00:17:41.69\00:17:44.79 among and with Joshua and the other branches 00:17:44.89\00:17:48.26 and connecting into the root. 00:17:48.90\00:17:50.53 Now when did this story take place? 00:17:51.23\00:17:53.03 Before or after the cross? 00:17:53.44\00:17:56.27 Before the cross. 00:17:57.44\00:17:58.77 Way before the cross. 00:17:58.81\00:18:00.54 Now both dispensational theology and replacement theology 00:18:00.88\00:18:04.61 teach that the covenant people of God 00:18:04.65\00:18:07.12 were the Jewish people before the cross. 00:18:07.15\00:18:09.78 But here we have a clear example 00:18:10.09\00:18:12.02 that it wasn't flat across the board that all 00:18:12.65\00:18:15.32 the Jewish people were the covenant people of God. 00:18:15.36\00:18:17.03 Aiken gets cut off. 00:18:17.06\00:18:18.73 And Rahab gets grafted in. 00:18:19.49\00:18:21.10 We have other stories; Ruth and the Gibeonites and 00:18:21.13\00:18:23.97 the mixed multitude that come out of Egypt. 00:18:24.00\00:18:25.77 So God's plan has never been; the Jewish people there, 00:18:25.97\00:18:30.04 and then someone else later on. 00:18:30.94\00:18:32.27 Like the replacement theology would teach. 00:18:32.31\00:18:33.64 Or Jewish people then, and continue Jewish people. 00:18:33.68\00:18:35.71 And some other route for the Gentile people. 00:18:35.74\00:18:37.35 But God's plan is and always has been 00:18:37.51\00:18:43.18 for Jews and Gentiles to be grafted in together 00:18:43.75\00:18:47.56 and among and with into the root of Jesus. 00:18:47.59\00:18:52.49 Always, from the very beginning. 00:18:52.83\00:18:55.23 So there's no pedestal, there's no lifting up of 00:18:55.60\00:18:57.57 one over the other. 00:18:57.60\00:18:58.93 There's no putting down of one over the other. 00:18:58.97\00:19:01.27 But all together equal in the sight of God. 00:19:02.00\00:19:05.34 The invitation has always been equal and open to all people 00:19:05.37\00:19:10.15 from the very beginning of time. 00:19:10.25\00:19:11.88 Now there was a little bit of a methodology shift 00:19:16.69\00:19:19.65 a little bit after the time of the cross. 00:19:20.26\00:19:22.76 Before the cross, God was using Jerusalem and the Sanctuary 00:19:23.32\00:19:29.36 there to draw people to teach them. 00:19:29.40\00:19:31.37 Like the Queen of Sheba. 00:19:31.57\00:19:32.90 She comes to Jerusalem, she learns about the sacrifices. 00:19:32.93\00:19:35.67 She learns about them pointing forward to the Messiah to come, 00:19:35.70\00:19:38.21 salvation through the blood. 00:19:38.24\00:19:39.67 After the cross, the temple is no longer needed, 00:19:40.98\00:19:44.41 the sacrifices are no longer needed. 00:19:44.45\00:19:46.15 And so the methodology shifts to where then they're sent out 00:19:46.31\00:19:49.65 to go and make disciples of all nations. 00:19:49.92\00:19:52.95 It's a little bit of a methodology shift, 00:19:53.86\00:19:55.96 but not a theology shift. 00:19:56.22\00:19:58.36 Nor an ethnic shift. 00:19:58.53\00:20:00.60 Theology shift like replacement theology would teach, 00:20:00.63\00:20:03.57 or an ethnic shift like replacement theology. 00:20:03.87\00:20:07.67 Dispensational would teach the theological shift. 00:20:07.70\00:20:10.67 And replacement theology, changing the different laws 00:20:11.11\00:20:14.31 in different ways. 00:20:14.34\00:20:15.68 And replacement theology would teach 00:20:15.84\00:20:17.45 an ethnic shift taking place. 00:20:17.65\00:20:20.12 It wasn't either of those. 00:20:20.15\00:20:21.68 Just a little bit of shifting in how to reach the world 00:20:21.72\00:20:24.69 is all that took place. 00:20:25.02\00:20:26.62 So let's look at the old covenant, new covenant. 00:20:30.43\00:20:33.06 Some will phrase that as old testament, new testament. 00:20:34.30\00:20:37.30 Because the word, "covenant," and, "testament," 00:20:37.63\00:20:39.63 are interchangeable words. 00:20:39.67\00:20:41.27 Which I don't think are good terms; 00:20:43.71\00:20:45.67 the Old Testament, calling the first part of the Bible, 00:20:45.71\00:20:47.98 Old Testament, and the second part of the Bible, 00:20:48.01\00:20:49.91 New Testament. 00:20:50.18\00:20:51.51 Because the Old Testament is not the old covenant, 00:20:51.58\00:20:55.48 as we'll see here as we look at some Bible text. 00:20:56.15\00:20:58.42 And so if we use those terms, Old Testament, 00:20:58.52\00:21:01.12 we are using it to denounce and put away 00:21:01.36\00:21:06.90 the teachings of the first part of the Bible. 00:21:07.76\00:21:10.83 Three-fourths of the Bible. 00:21:11.17\00:21:13.17 And again, replacement theology would use that, "Old Testament," 00:21:16.71\00:21:19.51 to say, "Well, the Jews have been done away with." 00:21:19.54\00:21:21.51 And the dispensational theologists would say, 00:21:21.81\00:21:23.68 "See, the Old Testament is old covenant. 00:21:23.78\00:21:27.12 And so the law has been done away." 00:21:27.22\00:21:28.98 And neither one is right. 00:21:29.75\00:21:31.12 The Jews haven't been done away with, 00:21:31.15\00:21:32.49 as far as being able to be grafted into God's root, 00:21:33.32\00:21:38.09 be covenanting with God. 00:21:39.09\00:21:40.73 And nor has the law been done away with. 00:21:40.96\00:21:42.86 So when we use those terms, Old Testament, New Testament, 00:21:42.90\00:21:44.90 we actually shoot ourselves in the foot 00:21:44.93\00:21:47.60 to be able to use the text in three-fourths of the Bible, 00:21:47.70\00:21:52.41 and a good portion of the New Testament, 00:21:52.44\00:21:54.28 or quotes from the first part of the Bible. 00:21:54.71\00:21:57.35 And so we'd have to really black line those out 00:21:58.25\00:22:00.38 if those are old and done away with. 00:22:00.75\00:22:03.42 So let's look at what the old covenant and new covenant is. 00:22:03.92\00:22:08.16 Deuteronomy chapter 4 verse 11, 00:22:09.12\00:22:11.19 "He declared to you His covenant." 00:22:11.53\00:22:15.33 I'm sorry. 00:22:15.36\00:22:16.70 Chapter 4 verse 11, "You stood at the foot of the mountain," 00:22:17.23\00:22:20.97 this is Mount Sinai, "and the mountain burned with fire 00:22:21.00\00:22:24.34 with darkness, cloud, and thick darkness. 00:22:24.37\00:22:26.98 And the Lord spoke to you out of the midst of the fire." 00:22:27.18\00:22:30.31 This is before Moses went up on 00:22:30.35\00:22:32.55 Mount Sinai and received the Ten Commandments. 00:22:32.65\00:22:34.22 God speaking to the people. 00:22:34.25\00:22:35.68 And verse 13, "And He declared to you His covenant 00:22:37.82\00:22:42.19 which He commanded you to perform, the Ten Commandments; 00:22:42.39\00:22:45.63 and He wrote them on two tablets of stone." 00:22:45.86\00:22:49.56 So He declared to you His covenant. 00:22:50.20\00:22:52.53 Who is the, "His"? 00:22:52.57\00:22:53.90 Who is, "His"? God. 00:22:54.47\00:22:56.44 It's God's covenant. 00:22:56.54\00:22:58.04 That's important right there. 00:22:58.07\00:22:59.54 "His covenant" is God's covenant. 00:22:59.84\00:23:01.94 And what, in the verse, is God's covenant? 00:23:02.31\00:23:04.31 "He declared to you His covenant, 00:23:04.35\00:23:05.91 which He commanded you to perform; the Ten Commandments." 00:23:05.95\00:23:09.58 So the Ten Commandments there are the covenant, 00:23:10.42\00:23:13.69 or His covenant. 00:23:13.72\00:23:15.19 God's covenant that He has given to us 00:23:15.22\00:23:18.26 is His Ten Commandments that He wrote on stone. 00:23:18.53\00:23:22.23 It's His gift to us. 00:23:22.50\00:23:24.20 Now another term for, "covenant," is, "testament." 00:23:24.63\00:23:27.17 What would be another term for covenant? 00:23:27.57\00:23:29.20 What are some synonymous terms for, "covenant"? 00:23:29.24\00:23:31.47 What is a covenant? 00:23:31.51\00:23:32.84 Agreement, right. 00:23:34.08\00:23:35.41 Promise, right. Promise, right. 00:23:36.31\00:23:38.21 Covenant; accord. That's right. 00:23:38.71\00:23:40.68 Some people covenant together; marriage covenant. 00:23:41.02\00:23:43.05 Making vows to each other, making promises to each other. 00:23:43.08\00:23:45.89 So the Ten Commandments could be looked at as 00:23:46.19\00:23:48.72 God's ten promises that He has promised to us. 00:23:48.76\00:23:53.70 He has promised us, "I will meet all your needs 00:23:54.53\00:23:56.97 according to My riches and glory. 00:23:57.00\00:23:58.37 You won't have to steal from anyone. 00:23:58.40\00:24:00.14 You won't covet from anyone else. 00:24:01.17\00:24:03.04 I will give you contentment. 00:24:03.24\00:24:05.84 I will give you love in your heart and remove hatred 00:24:06.71\00:24:09.14 out of your heart so that you won't murder anyone. 00:24:09.18\00:24:12.61 I promise you. 00:24:12.81\00:24:14.15 I promise you that I will be able to find you a job so that 00:24:14.58\00:24:17.29 you'll be able to remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. 00:24:17.32\00:24:20.46 I promise you I will give you so much love for your spouse 00:24:21.42\00:24:23.89 that you will not commit adultery against them. 00:24:23.93\00:24:27.40 I promise you that I will be such a wonderful God to you 00:24:28.20\00:24:31.47 that you will not need any other gods other than Me." 00:24:32.03\00:24:35.20 They are God's promises to us. 00:24:35.60\00:24:38.71 And so it's like a contract, it's like a warranty. 00:24:39.51\00:24:43.24 And so if it's not working right, you can go to God. 00:24:43.61\00:24:45.98 You can say, "God, You promised me 00:24:46.01\00:24:48.02 that You were going to provide for my needs. 00:24:49.12\00:24:50.45 You promised me that You were going to find me a job 00:24:50.49\00:24:52.55 so I can keep the Sabbath. 00:24:52.59\00:24:53.92 It's Your Sabbath and it's Your covenant, 00:24:53.96\00:24:55.59 so You've got to help me. 00:24:55.62\00:24:56.96 You've got to work for me. 00:24:57.66\00:24:58.99 You've got to do something here. 00:24:59.03\00:25:00.36 I am holding You to Your covenant. 00:25:00.40\00:25:02.76 I'm holding You to Your promise to me." 00:25:02.80\00:25:06.43 His covenant. 00:25:06.80\00:25:08.14 His Ten Commandments. 00:25:08.30\00:25:10.24 Oh, it's a whole lot more beautiful that way. 00:25:10.27\00:25:12.04 Now, the new covenant is actually older 00:25:15.51\00:25:22.55 than the old covenant. 00:25:23.35\00:25:24.69 As we'll see here in a minute. 00:25:25.55\00:25:27.39 Because the Ten Commandments, how far back do they go? 00:25:27.42\00:25:29.86 Back to the Garden of Eden, right? 00:25:31.19\00:25:32.83 Right, the Sabbath was there in the Garden of Eden, right? 00:25:33.36\00:25:35.13 Were they allowed to steal in the Garden of Eden? 00:25:35.16\00:25:37.17 No, that's what they got in trouble for, right? 00:25:37.63\00:25:39.23 They took something that wasn't theirs, right? 00:25:39.27\00:25:40.77 And coveting, that led to the stealing, right? 00:25:41.04\00:25:43.61 In a sense, they kind of murdered. 00:25:44.41\00:25:45.74 Right? Eve murdered Adam by giving him the deadly fruit. 00:25:45.77\00:25:48.54 They had other gods before them by listening to Satan 00:25:50.65\00:25:53.38 instead of listening to God. 00:25:53.42\00:25:54.75 So the Ten Commandments were there from the beginning. 00:25:54.78\00:25:56.28 And so God's covenant, His covenant, is older. 00:25:56.65\00:26:01.26 From the very beginning. 00:26:01.29\00:26:02.72 Now in the Exodus version of this, Exodus chapter 19 verse 8, 00:26:04.49\00:26:07.80 "All the people answered together, 00:26:09.80\00:26:12.13 'All that the Lord has spoken we will do.'" 00:26:12.43\00:26:17.24 So they are, what are they making to God? 00:26:18.41\00:26:20.71 They're making a promise. 00:26:20.74\00:26:23.58 "All that You say we will do." 00:26:23.78\00:26:27.52 So we're making a covenant to God. 00:26:28.42\00:26:30.45 And that's before Moses went up on the mountain. 00:26:31.65\00:26:34.06 So how long did that promise last? 00:26:34.09\00:26:35.72 Not even six weeks, right? 00:26:37.56\00:26:39.19 After Moses goes up on the mountain, 00:26:40.50\00:26:42.16 he comes back down, and in chapter 24 verse 7, 00:26:42.20\00:26:47.27 Moses took the Book of the Covenant. 00:26:47.77\00:26:50.91 So he went up there, God gave him His covenant. 00:26:51.64\00:26:54.54 According to the book, Moses brought it down. 00:26:55.28\00:26:57.65 "Moses took the Book of the Covenant 00:26:57.68\00:26:59.21 and read it in the hearing of the people. 00:26:59.25\00:27:01.48 And they said, 'All that the Lord has said 00:27:01.68\00:27:04.59 we will do, and be obedient.'" 00:27:05.42\00:27:07.82 So we added to it this time. 00:27:07.86\00:27:09.66 "Not only are we going to do it, we will be obedient. 00:27:10.43\00:27:13.50 We promise you." 00:27:13.53\00:27:14.86 How long did that last? 00:27:15.23\00:27:16.56 Not too long at all. 00:27:17.73\00:27:19.07 Now did God even ask them to promise Him anything? 00:27:19.80\00:27:22.50 "Moses took the Book of the Covenant 00:27:24.07\00:27:25.41 and read it in the hearing of the people." 00:27:25.44\00:27:27.04 It doesn't say, "What's your response?" 00:27:28.04\00:27:29.78 He didn't ask for a response. 00:27:29.81\00:27:31.15 He didn't ask, "Will you promise to obey it?" 00:27:31.18\00:27:32.85 He gave them His covenant. 00:27:33.11\00:27:34.85 "And they said, 'All that the Lord has said we will do.'" 00:27:35.68\00:27:40.16 This is the old covenant. 00:27:40.86\00:27:44.36 This is the old promises that need to be done away with. 00:27:45.29\00:27:50.33 These are the faulty promises that are built on 00:27:51.53\00:27:56.54 shifting sands. 00:27:58.94\00:28:00.78 Our promises to God are like trying to climb up a rope 00:28:00.81\00:28:03.61 made out of sand. 00:28:03.65\00:28:04.98 It just falls apart in our hands. 00:28:05.31\00:28:08.12 And then in verse 8, the same chapter, Exodus 24, 00:28:11.25\00:28:14.12 "Moses took the blood and sprinkled it on the people..." 00:28:14.46\00:28:17.93 How would you like that? 00:28:18.76\00:28:20.10 And amazingly they came back next week. 00:28:20.60\00:28:21.96 Huh? Would you do that if we strew some blood? 00:28:22.00\00:28:23.63 He took the blood of the goats and the rams, 00:28:24.07\00:28:26.07 and he sprinkled it on the people. 00:28:26.10\00:28:28.34 "...and said, 'This is the blood of the covenant 00:28:32.57\00:28:35.44 which the Lord has made with you...'" 00:28:35.64\00:28:38.95 Who made the covenant? 00:28:39.31\00:28:40.65 The Lord. 00:28:41.38\00:28:42.72 He doesn't even mention their promise. 00:28:42.75\00:28:44.79 He ignores it. 00:28:44.82\00:28:46.15 He doesn't say, "This is the blood of the covenant 00:28:46.45\00:28:47.86 of the promises we made to each other." 00:28:47.89\00:28:50.43 "This is the blood of the covenant 00:28:52.23\00:28:53.90 which the Lord has made with you 00:28:55.60\00:28:58.87 according to all of these words." 00:28:59.37\00:29:03.30 What words? 00:29:03.34\00:29:04.67 His Ten Commandments. 00:29:05.81\00:29:07.14 The words of His covenant written in the book, right? 00:29:07.18\00:29:09.18 Now the book of Hebrews says, "Jesus is the Mediator 00:29:12.41\00:29:17.62 of a better covenant, which was established on better promises." 00:29:17.65\00:29:23.36 There we see, "covenant," and, "promises," 00:29:23.39\00:29:24.73 are interchangeable words. 00:29:24.76\00:29:26.73 Better covenant, better promises. 00:29:28.26\00:29:29.96 Hebrews 8 verse 7, "For if that first covenant had been 00:29:30.17\00:29:35.60 faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second." 00:29:35.64\00:29:41.31 So he's saying that first covenant had faults with it. 00:29:42.01\00:29:45.35 Right? 00:29:45.38\00:29:46.72 God's Ten Commandments, is there any fault with 00:29:47.68\00:29:49.28 God's Ten Commandments? 00:29:49.32\00:29:50.65 No, so it's not God's Ten Commandments 00:29:51.25\00:29:53.76 that's the faulty one. 00:29:53.79\00:29:55.29 Is the rest of the Bible, the Old Testament, 00:29:56.12\00:29:59.73 or the first part of the Bible, 00:29:59.76\00:30:01.10 is there anything wrong with that? 00:30:01.13\00:30:02.50 No, the Bible says that all Scripture is given 00:30:03.16\00:30:05.87 for instruction and doctrine and for reproof, 00:30:05.97\00:30:09.80 written by holy men of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit. 00:30:10.21\00:30:14.28 Right? 00:30:14.31\00:30:15.64 So it's not the first part of the Bible. 00:30:15.71\00:30:19.75 It's not the Torah and the writings and the prophets 00:30:20.65\00:30:23.25 that had fault in them. 00:30:23.89\00:30:25.39 So that can't be what the old covenant is. 00:30:28.56\00:30:30.93 So what is the old covenant? 00:30:32.16\00:30:33.66 Well verse 8. 00:30:33.70\00:30:35.03 "...finding fault with them..." 00:30:35.06\00:30:37.40 Who is, "them"? 00:30:37.87\00:30:39.20 The ones who promised. Right. 00:30:40.20\00:30:42.04 That's where the fault is. 00:30:42.54\00:30:43.87 The fault is in their promise. 00:30:43.91\00:30:45.24 Because we don't have the power in ourselves 00:30:45.57\00:30:47.38 to keep our promises to God. 00:30:47.41\00:30:51.05 And then Paul quotes from Jeremiah 31 verse 31. 00:30:51.81\00:30:58.29 "'Behold, the days are coming,' says the Lord, 'when I will 00:30:58.89\00:31:02.12 make a new covenant with the house of Israel 00:31:02.16\00:31:04.79 and with the house of Judah." 00:31:04.83\00:31:06.26 It's interesting, it says His new covenant is with who? 00:31:06.29\00:31:09.06 Israel and Judah. 00:31:10.80\00:31:12.20 Not like replacement theology that says, 00:31:12.23\00:31:13.57 "Well, it's the Gentiles." 00:31:13.60\00:31:14.94 The new covenant is with Israel and with Judah. 00:31:14.97\00:31:17.07 The Israel of God, which would include Rahab and Ruth. 00:31:17.11\00:31:20.01 Again, the olive tree all grafted together. 00:31:20.28\00:31:22.94 Who's making the covenant in the new covenant? 00:31:25.91\00:31:28.38 "I..." Who's the, "I"? 00:31:29.12\00:31:30.79 God. 00:31:31.22\00:31:32.55 "I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel." 00:31:32.69\00:31:35.99 He doesn't say, "Make Me another promise. 00:31:36.02\00:31:38.96 You blew your old covenant promise, 00:31:39.59\00:31:41.00 you blew your old promise. 00:31:41.03\00:31:42.36 Make Me a new promise. 00:31:42.40\00:31:43.73 Be more determined this time. 00:31:43.77\00:31:45.30 Grit your teeth even harder this time. 00:31:45.33\00:31:47.30 Promise even on a bigger stack of Bibles this time." 00:31:47.80\00:31:50.87 He doesn't say, "Behold, we make a new covenant. 00:31:52.51\00:31:55.34 We wiped that other one out, we're going to re-draft it. 00:31:55.38\00:31:57.38 And we'll promise each other all over again." 00:31:57.41\00:31:59.65 He doesn't say that either. 00:32:00.15\00:32:01.48 He doesn't say, "Well, I'm going to wipe this out, 00:32:01.52\00:32:02.85 I'm going to wipe these people out. 00:32:02.88\00:32:04.22 I'm going to make a new promise with new people." 00:32:04.25\00:32:05.62 He says, "I will make a new covenant." 00:32:07.36\00:32:09.02 God makes the new covenant with us. 00:32:09.39\00:32:12.53 Just as He did when He spoke His covenant from Mount Sinai. 00:32:12.56\00:32:16.23 Just as He did when He spoke to Adam and Eve promising them. 00:32:16.73\00:32:20.94 God's covenant, God's everlasting covenant, 00:32:21.57\00:32:25.17 that does not fade away. 00:32:25.71\00:32:27.31 Verse 10 same chapter, Hebrews chapter 8, 00:32:29.08\00:32:30.91 "'This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel' 00:32:31.51\00:32:35.08 says the Lord, 'I will put My laws in their mind 00:32:35.38\00:32:39.65 and write them on their hearts; I will be their God, 00:32:39.69\00:32:42.59 and they shall be My people.'" 00:32:42.79\00:32:46.03 Who's doing all the work here? 00:32:48.20\00:32:49.53 God. 00:32:50.57\00:32:51.90 "I will put My laws in their mind and write them 00:32:53.97\00:32:57.61 on their hearts; I will be their God, 00:32:57.64\00:33:00.48 and they shall be My people." 00:33:01.18\00:33:02.91 We shall be His people why? Because we promise? 00:33:03.75\00:33:06.55 Because we try real hard? 00:33:07.42\00:33:08.75 Because we're very determined? 00:33:09.65\00:33:11.02 Because we're very good? 00:33:11.75\00:33:13.09 Because God writes His law in our hearts 00:33:13.89\00:33:17.83 and in our minds. 00:33:18.06\00:33:19.63 His covenant. 00:33:20.10\00:33:21.43 Again, that's His covenant, that's His desire, 00:33:21.46\00:33:24.00 from the very beginning. 00:33:24.03\00:33:25.37 God's work; God does His work in us. 00:33:25.40\00:33:28.97 And in verse 13, "In that He says, 'A new covenant,' 00:33:31.11\00:33:34.44 He has made the first obsolete. 00:33:34.68\00:33:36.81 And now what is becoming obsolete and growing old 00:33:37.35\00:33:40.22 is ready to vanish away." 00:33:40.42\00:33:43.52 Our old promises, our old trying, our old resolutions, 00:33:44.42\00:33:48.79 should vanish away and become obsolete; 00:33:48.99\00:33:52.39 and stop depending on our own promises and our own self will 00:33:52.59\00:33:56.77 and our own determination and our own trying, 00:33:56.80\00:34:01.14 and trust in God and let God work His work, 00:34:02.74\00:34:08.51 His covenant, in us. 00:34:08.54\00:34:11.01 Again, the obsolete growing old. 00:34:12.75\00:34:14.08 That can't be the Ten Commandments. 00:34:14.12\00:34:15.45 It can't be the Bible. 00:34:15.48\00:34:16.82 It can't be the first part of the Bible. 00:34:16.85\00:34:18.19 Because those aren't obsolete. 00:34:18.42\00:34:20.06 They aren't done away with. 00:34:20.49\00:34:22.92 And so if you ever hear anyone saying that 00:34:23.63\00:34:25.83 the first part of the Bible has been done away with 00:34:25.93\00:34:27.60 or the law has been done away with, 00:34:27.63\00:34:29.00 well again, tell them they can't quote then from 00:34:29.20\00:34:30.73 all the parts, you know, of the Psalms and of Isaiah, 00:34:30.77\00:34:34.27 and these wonderful promises. 00:34:34.30\00:34:35.64 "Oh, you can't quote those. 00:34:35.67\00:34:37.01 You said that's obsolete, that's done away with. 00:34:37.64\00:34:39.24 That's Old Testament, that's old covenant." 00:34:39.27\00:34:41.38 No, but they haven't grown old, have they. 00:34:41.84\00:34:43.58 Those promises are good and those text are just as 00:34:43.78\00:34:47.02 good today as they were when they were written 00:34:47.05\00:34:50.09 even thousands of years ago. 00:34:50.12\00:34:51.95 Then in chapter 9, Hebrews chapter 9 verse 14, 00:34:55.06\00:34:58.09 "...how much more shall the blood of Christ...cleanse your 00:34:58.13\00:35:01.66 conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" 00:35:01.70\00:35:07.20 When God gave His covenant the first time, 00:35:08.50\00:35:10.17 He sprinkled the people with the blood of the sacrifices. 00:35:10.27\00:35:13.84 Now with better promises, God's commitment, God's promises, 00:35:14.41\00:35:18.18 God's covenant, He now offers blood again. 00:35:18.78\00:35:23.18 This time, better blood as well. 00:35:23.49\00:35:26.15 And so certainly the blood part of the covenant is also 00:35:26.45\00:35:29.06 something that has vanished away, right? 00:35:29.26\00:35:30.63 We don't need to do the sacrifices anymore, do we? 00:35:30.66\00:35:32.69 Because He has become the sacrifice. 00:35:33.23\00:35:34.90 Messiah is the sacrifice. 00:35:34.93\00:35:36.56 Right? And so that part is definitely part of 00:35:36.87\00:35:39.73 the old covenant aspect. 00:35:39.77\00:35:41.37 Now the sacrifices themselves, as far as the shadow goes, 00:35:42.37\00:35:45.74 the Sanctuary itself as far as the shadow goes, 00:35:45.77\00:35:48.34 was their fault with that? 00:35:48.64\00:35:49.98 Was there anything faulty with it? 00:35:50.01\00:35:51.35 No. It was a perfect shadow. 00:35:51.38\00:35:52.71 But it wasn't the reality, was it. 00:35:53.25\00:35:55.25 It pointed forward, it perfectly did its job. 00:35:55.52\00:35:57.65 It perfectly pointed forward to the Messiah. 00:35:57.69\00:35:59.85 And the Messiah came just as prophesied. 00:35:59.89\00:36:02.96 So it fulfilled its purpose. But now its purpose is done. 00:36:03.86\00:36:06.46 It's good to read to help us understand 00:36:06.73\00:36:08.36 the cross even better. 00:36:08.40\00:36:09.90 But we don't need to sacrifice anymore. 00:36:10.10\00:36:12.90 So certainly the sacrifices are part of that, because we have 00:36:13.20\00:36:16.27 the blood of Christ that cleanses your conscience 00:36:16.30\00:36:21.14 from dead works. 00:36:21.94\00:36:23.38 Who is it that cleanses our conscience from dead works? 00:36:26.11\00:36:28.48 Christ; His blood. 00:36:30.49\00:36:32.15 He cleanses us. 00:36:32.55\00:36:34.72 Not just outwardly, but down into the conscience. 00:36:35.86\00:36:39.23 The blood of bulls and goats couldn't do that. 00:36:40.03\00:36:42.50 But the blood of Messiah has done that. 00:36:43.03\00:36:45.73 And when was the sacrifice made? 00:36:46.50\00:36:49.84 When did Jesus die for us? 00:36:49.87\00:36:51.34 2000 years ago? 00:36:55.54\00:36:56.88 The Bible says He's the Lamb slain from 00:36:56.91\00:36:59.11 the foundation of the world, right. 00:36:59.51\00:37:01.28 So as far as God's concerned, again, the everlasting covenant 00:37:01.32\00:37:03.82 is older, the new covenant is older than the old covenant. 00:37:03.85\00:37:07.36 It goes back to the very beginning even before the 00:37:07.46\00:37:09.36 foundation of the world, as far as God is concerned. 00:37:09.39\00:37:11.43 His blood was sacrificed; it was a done deal when 00:37:11.96\00:37:14.33 God made that decision that He was going to, 00:37:14.36\00:37:16.73 4000 years later, be that sacrifice for the world. 00:37:16.77\00:37:20.57 So His blood shed forth to cleanse us, to remove from us 00:37:21.67\00:37:26.81 the dead works, the dead promises, the dead attempts. 00:37:28.71\00:37:32.88 How good are our works? 00:37:32.91\00:37:34.25 How valuable are our works? 00:37:34.28\00:37:35.82 All our righteousness is filthy rags. 00:37:36.65\00:37:41.26 And He cleanses us of our filthy promises, our weak promises. 00:37:41.49\00:37:45.79 Even our best of promises, how strong can they be? 00:37:48.13\00:37:50.53 Without Christ, we can do nothing. 00:37:52.60\00:37:55.40 And so there's nothing. Nothing. 00:37:55.44\00:37:58.01 All our promises are nothing. 00:37:58.41\00:38:00.34 Worthless. 00:38:00.51\00:38:01.84 Done away with, obsolete. Throw them away. 00:38:01.98\00:38:04.31 Trust and hold God to His promises. 00:38:04.91\00:38:08.58 So let's look at some of these promises. 00:38:09.38\00:38:13.09 Philippians chapter 1, "He who has begun a good work in you 00:38:14.29\00:38:17.73 will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ." 00:38:17.76\00:38:20.36 Who's doing all the work? 00:38:20.70\00:38:22.03 He is. 00:38:22.56\00:38:23.90 "He who has begun a good work in you will complete it." 00:38:23.93\00:38:28.67 He starts it, and He completes it. 00:38:29.94\00:38:32.91 He does the justifying, and He completes it. 00:38:33.21\00:38:36.11 He is the completer. 00:38:36.44\00:38:37.81 Him, not us. 00:38:37.85\00:38:39.31 I don't trust in Him for what He did on the cross 00:38:39.81\00:38:42.42 and then the rest is up to us. 00:38:42.72\00:38:44.45 He makes a promise to us, He did something for us, 00:38:44.85\00:38:46.65 and now we've got to do our part? 00:38:46.69\00:38:49.09 There is a part for us to do. 00:38:49.49\00:38:50.86 Get out of the way. 00:38:52.06\00:38:53.40 Surrender. 00:38:54.20\00:38:55.53 Let Him work in us. 00:38:56.13\00:38:59.70 He has begun the work; let Him complete it. 00:39:00.34\00:39:03.07 Let Him do it. 00:39:03.41\00:39:04.74 Stop trying to get in there. 00:39:05.11\00:39:06.54 You know, our prayers, when we pray, "God, help me," 00:39:07.51\00:39:09.78 who's the assistant in that prayer? 00:39:12.01\00:39:13.88 God's the assistant, right? 00:39:15.02\00:39:16.65 If God's your co-pilot, switch seats, right? 00:39:17.72\00:39:20.66 Don't ask Him to help you. 00:39:21.96\00:39:23.29 Say, "God, I can't do this. 00:39:24.49\00:39:26.36 I can do nothing. 00:39:26.80\00:39:28.16 Come inside me. 00:39:29.26\00:39:30.77 Begin Your work and complete Your work in me. 00:39:31.63\00:39:34.40 And do it for me, and do it through me." 00:39:34.80\00:39:37.51 Philippians chapter 2 verse 13, "It is God who works in you 00:39:40.41\00:39:44.88 both to will and to do of His good pleasure." 00:39:44.91\00:39:49.08 Who's doing all the work? 00:39:49.35\00:39:50.69 God. 00:39:51.19\00:39:52.52 It is God who works in you, both to will and to do. 00:39:52.55\00:39:58.03 What is, "to will"? 00:39:58.06\00:39:59.39 To choose. 00:40:02.03\00:40:03.37 Your will, right? Your will? 00:40:03.40\00:40:04.73 You choose what you want to go to who. 00:40:04.77\00:40:06.10 You want this to go to them, and this to go to them, 00:40:06.13\00:40:07.90 and nothing to go to them. 00:40:07.94\00:40:09.37 Right? You know, you make your choices. 00:40:09.40\00:40:10.74 Your will, right? 00:40:10.77\00:40:12.11 He helps us to choose. 00:40:12.14\00:40:13.71 We can't even choose on our own. 00:40:13.74\00:40:15.54 He gives us the power to choose. 00:40:16.11\00:40:18.21 To both will and to do. 00:40:19.08\00:40:21.92 He gives us the desire, gives us the power to choose, 00:40:22.28\00:40:25.55 and then He does it in us and through us. 00:40:25.59\00:40:28.86 That's His covenant. 00:40:29.22\00:40:30.56 That's His promise. 00:40:30.59\00:40:31.93 Not ours. 00:40:32.29\00:40:33.63 And He will do that through us. 00:40:33.66\00:40:36.36 His good works, not our good works. 00:40:36.56\00:40:38.73 Not our good pleasure. 00:40:38.77\00:40:40.10 He will do His good pleasure through us. 00:40:40.14\00:40:43.64 And that will make us the happiest. 00:40:44.57\00:40:46.84 Not our own filthy pleasures, but His pleasures. 00:40:48.01\00:40:51.58 Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ 00:40:51.98\00:40:58.02 who strengthens me." 00:40:58.05\00:40:59.89 Who's doing all the work? 00:40:59.92\00:41:01.26 God. Christ. 00:41:01.76\00:41:03.09 I can do all things because Christ is the one 00:41:03.39\00:41:05.49 who strengthens me. 00:41:05.53\00:41:06.86 Again, we can do nothing without Him. 00:41:06.90\00:41:08.46 We can do nothing. 00:41:08.50\00:41:09.90 But with Him, we can do all things 00:41:10.20\00:41:13.40 through Christ who strengthens me. 00:41:14.07\00:41:16.00 Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. 00:41:17.61\00:41:21.28 Now that's all, again, the second part of the Bible, right? 00:41:21.31\00:41:23.24 So well, maybe because the old promises are old 00:41:23.28\00:41:25.08 and done away with, right, and He didn't promise those 00:41:25.11\00:41:26.88 good promises then, they're only in the second part 00:41:26.92\00:41:28.88 after the cross, He started making great promises? 00:41:28.92\00:41:30.89 Well let's look at the book of Exodus chapter 31 verse 13. 00:41:31.29\00:41:36.09 "I am the Lord who sanctifies you." 00:41:36.52\00:41:39.26 Leviticus 20 verse 8, "I am the Lord who sanctifies you." 00:41:39.46\00:41:43.20 Leviticus 21 verse 8, "I am the Lord who sanctifies you." 00:41:43.47\00:41:46.97 Leviticus 22 verse 32, "I am the Lord who sanctifies you." 00:41:47.00\00:41:51.27 I didn't want to wear glasses, so I printed real large. 00:41:53.38\00:41:56.34 This is my notes, they look like this. 00:41:56.51\00:41:58.15 Maybe you can help out here. 00:41:58.18\00:41:59.65 Help me out here. 00:42:01.15\00:42:02.48 "I am the Lord... 00:42:02.68\00:42:05.29 ...who sanctifies... 00:42:07.72\00:42:09.56 ...you." 00:42:10.43\00:42:11.76 Who sanctifies you? 00:42:11.86\00:42:13.29 The Lord. 00:42:14.26\00:42:15.60 The Lord sanctifies you. 00:42:15.63\00:42:17.37 He began the good work, He justified us, 00:42:17.40\00:42:19.77 and He will complete it. 00:42:19.80\00:42:22.17 He is the Lord who sanctifies us. 00:42:22.20\00:42:25.17 Sanctification is the work of a lifetime. 00:42:25.91\00:42:27.84 But it's not our work of a lifetime, 00:42:27.88\00:42:29.48 it's His work of a lifetime. 00:42:29.51\00:42:31.31 He continues His work in us. 00:42:31.65\00:42:33.25 He continues to grow us, He continues to convict us. 00:42:33.28\00:42:35.38 He continues to show us where we're weak and faulty, 00:42:35.42\00:42:37.95 and continues to perfect us by His grace. 00:42:37.99\00:42:40.66 He does the work. 00:42:40.76\00:42:42.12 In the book of Leviticus and Exodus, 00:42:42.89\00:42:44.46 "I am the Lord who sanctifies you." 00:42:44.86\00:42:47.60 God's doing all the work, not us. 00:42:47.63\00:42:50.13 Leviticus 11:45, "You shall be holy, for I am holy." 00:42:51.53\00:42:59.27 Leviticus 19:2, "You shall be holy, 00:42:59.74\00:43:02.31 for I the Lord your God am holy." 00:43:02.34\00:43:04.91 Leviticus 20 verse 26, "You shall be holy to Me, 00:43:05.21\00:43:08.42 for I the Lord am holy." 00:43:08.45\00:43:10.79 What's the reason that we are holy? 00:43:10.99\00:43:12.49 Because of Him. 00:43:13.79\00:43:15.12 Not because of us. 00:43:15.49\00:43:16.83 Not because, "Oh, I've done better this year than last year. 00:43:16.86\00:43:18.56 I've tried harder and I've read more and I've prayed more." 00:43:18.59\00:43:21.06 We are holy because He is holy. 00:43:21.93\00:43:24.50 And then He wants to come and dwell in us and make us holy. 00:43:25.03\00:43:29.54 Not that it's us that's holy; it's Him that's holy. 00:43:29.90\00:43:32.04 Him living in us, because we are nothing. 00:43:32.41\00:43:35.28 Without Him we are nothing. 00:43:36.38\00:43:37.71 But it's Him, all Him in us and through us and for us. 00:43:37.98\00:43:42.52 Psalm 119, "I've hidden Your word in my heart 00:43:43.18\00:43:46.15 that I might not sin against You." 00:43:46.62\00:43:49.99 Him in the heart, His word in our heart. 00:43:51.16\00:43:53.19 He is the living word. 00:43:53.23\00:43:54.56 Him in us, that I might not sin against You. 00:43:54.60\00:43:59.43 Philippians chapter 2 verse 5, "Let this mind be in you 00:44:01.80\00:44:06.68 that was in Christ Jesus." 00:44:06.71\00:44:09.21 God wants to put His mind in us. 00:44:11.15\00:44:14.48 He wants to cleanse our conscience from the 00:44:14.52\00:44:16.52 dead works through His blood. 00:44:16.55\00:44:18.19 And He wants to put His mind in us. 00:44:18.29\00:44:21.82 Now what is the works that it says there 00:44:22.16\00:44:23.76 for us to do to get His mind? 00:44:23.79\00:44:25.56 Oh, I went too far there. 00:44:29.26\00:44:30.63 Where did it go? 00:44:30.67\00:44:32.00 Oh I'm sorry, I'm getting ahead of myself maybe. 00:44:33.84\00:44:35.77 Yeah okay, so let's back up. 00:44:52.09\00:44:54.52 Yes. 00:44:55.29\00:44:56.62 Who is able to keep you from falling? 00:44:56.66\00:44:58.53 God is able to keep us from falling. 00:44:59.26\00:45:03.30 Him sanctifying us, Him sustaining us. 00:45:03.33\00:45:07.07 Him keeping us from falling. 00:45:07.10\00:45:10.44 "...and present you faultless before the presence 00:45:11.87\00:45:18.35 of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior 00:45:18.38\00:45:21.28 be glory and majesty, dominion and power, 00:45:21.32\00:45:23.49 both now and forever more. 00:45:23.52\00:45:25.29 Amen." 00:45:25.92\00:45:27.26 1 John 2 verse 1, "I write to you so that you sin not." 00:45:32.39\00:45:38.77 Does John believe that God can give us the power not to sin? 00:45:38.87\00:45:41.54 Yes, he wrote, "I write to you. 00:45:42.57\00:45:44.81 That was the whole purpose I wrote to you. 00:45:44.84\00:45:46.21 I write to you so that you sin not. 00:45:46.24\00:45:48.34 He's able to keep you from falling. 00:45:48.94\00:45:51.01 Present you faultless before His throne of grace." 00:45:51.48\00:45:54.82 "But if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father; 00:45:56.28\00:46:03.22 Jesus Christ." 00:46:03.26\00:46:04.63 He doesn't say, "But when you sin, 00:46:05.63\00:46:08.66 don't worry, you've still got an Advocate with the Father." 00:46:08.86\00:46:10.93 It says, "I write to you so that you sin not. 00:46:11.90\00:46:14.57 But if you sin, you have an Advocate with the Father." 00:46:14.67\00:46:19.27 There is no sacrifice in the sacrificial system, 00:46:21.38\00:46:23.95 the temple system that God gave, there is no sacrifice 00:46:23.98\00:46:27.85 for known willful sin. 00:46:27.88\00:46:30.82 All the sacrifices are for unknown sins 00:46:31.59\00:46:34.59 that become known to us, that we then confess 00:46:34.99\00:46:39.89 and surrender over to God. 00:46:39.93\00:46:41.36 He is able to keep us from falling. 00:46:42.96\00:46:44.63 But if we unknowingly sin and it becomes revealed to us, 00:46:45.30\00:46:48.50 we have an Advocate with the Father who can cleanse us 00:46:49.30\00:46:52.27 and forgive us. 00:46:53.01\00:46:54.34 Galatians 2:20, "I am crucified with Christ; 00:46:55.78\00:46:58.98 nevertheless I live. 00:46:59.01\00:47:00.42 Yet not I, but Christ liveth in me. 00:47:00.45\00:47:03.75 And the life that I now live, I live by faith in the 00:47:04.35\00:47:06.62 Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me." 00:47:06.65\00:47:10.29 What is our job? 00:47:11.39\00:47:12.73 "I am crucified with Christ." 00:47:16.23\00:47:18.43 So what's our job? 00:47:18.83\00:47:20.17 To die. 00:47:20.87\00:47:22.20 That's it. 00:47:22.37\00:47:23.71 That's our job. 00:47:23.74\00:47:25.07 Surrender, die, be crucified with Him. 00:47:25.11\00:47:28.74 And if we're crucified with Him, when was He crucified? 00:47:29.48\00:47:32.31 From the foundation of the world. 00:47:34.08\00:47:35.68 Before we were even born. 00:47:35.92\00:47:37.25 We can accept our death in Him, and be dead in Him. 00:47:37.29\00:47:41.29 Our job is to die. 00:47:42.72\00:47:44.06 "I am crucified with Christ." 00:47:44.36\00:47:46.03 Nevertheless, I live. 00:47:46.49\00:47:47.83 You see me standing here. 00:47:47.86\00:47:49.20 But it's not I. 00:47:49.23\00:47:50.57 It's Christ that liveth in me. 00:47:50.60\00:47:52.33 I live by faith in the Son of God, 00:47:55.37\00:47:58.07 who loved me and gave Himself for me. 00:47:58.64\00:48:02.04 Glory to God, and only to God. 00:48:02.41\00:48:04.38 Now to that text in Philippians 2 verse 5. 00:48:04.68\00:48:07.68 "Let this mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus." 00:48:07.72\00:48:11.29 He wants to put His mind in us. 00:48:11.52\00:48:13.76 Jesus lived a faultless life, was able to keep from sinning. 00:48:17.33\00:48:23.43 He was tempted in all ways like as we are. 00:48:23.47\00:48:25.87 But He did not sin. 00:48:26.23\00:48:27.60 Now if we have the mind of Christ, does that mean 00:48:27.77\00:48:29.90 we'll never forget someone's name? 00:48:29.94\00:48:31.41 Does that mean we'll never get a splinter? 00:48:33.31\00:48:35.38 Some people think of this, you know, with Jesus sanctifying us 00:48:36.24\00:48:38.68 and perfecting us, and presenting us blameless 00:48:38.71\00:48:41.32 and faultless before His Father, they say, 00:48:41.35\00:48:42.68 "Oh, you can't make any mistake." 00:48:42.72\00:48:44.29 That's not what it's talking about. 00:48:44.95\00:48:46.29 It's talking about not sinning. 00:48:46.32\00:48:47.66 I mean, Jesus was a carpenter. 00:48:47.76\00:48:49.09 Do you think He ever got a splinter? 00:48:49.12\00:48:50.46 Ever think He cut a board too short? 00:48:50.83\00:48:52.49 Yeah. 00:48:54.96\00:48:56.30 He made mistakes. That's not sin. 00:48:56.33\00:48:57.87 He never chose to rebelliously disobey His Father. 00:49:00.24\00:49:04.51 I mean, He was a baby. You think He wet His pants? 00:49:05.41\00:49:06.98 I mean, you think He pooped in His diaper? 00:49:07.01\00:49:08.34 I mean, you know, He came in the flesh, right? 00:49:08.38\00:49:10.71 Those who say He did not come in the flesh are the antichrist, 00:49:10.75\00:49:13.18 the Bible says. 00:49:13.21\00:49:14.55 He came in the flesh. 00:49:14.78\00:49:16.22 But He did not sin. 00:49:16.69\00:49:18.05 He did not choose to disobey. 00:49:18.49\00:49:20.56 Did not rebelliously hold on to sin. 00:49:20.92\00:49:23.79 And neither do we. 00:49:23.83\00:49:25.16 By God's grace, we don't have to choose to sin. 00:49:26.93\00:49:29.93 Sin is knowing to do wrong, and doing it. 00:49:30.67\00:49:32.73 Knowing what's right, and not doing it. 00:49:32.77\00:49:34.50 We don't have to choose to sin. 00:49:35.34\00:49:37.04 By God's grace, Him sanctifying us, He gives us the power 00:49:37.07\00:49:40.01 to make the right choice. 00:49:40.04\00:49:41.61 And then by His grace, to will and to do. 00:49:42.01\00:49:45.45 Him doing it, not us. 00:49:46.25\00:49:48.38 Now we're not going to run around and say, 00:49:48.95\00:49:50.29 "Oh, I'm sanctified. I'm perfect. 00:49:50.32\00:49:51.65 I haven't sinned in three weeks, you know." 00:49:51.69\00:49:53.76 That would be our first sin. 00:49:53.79\00:49:55.12 You know. 00:49:55.16\00:49:56.49 Because we won't be looking at ourselves. 00:49:56.96\00:49:58.29 We'll be looking at Him. 00:49:58.33\00:49:59.66 Ah, what are we? 00:50:00.30\00:50:01.63 We are nothing. 00:50:01.66\00:50:03.40 We are dead. 00:50:03.43\00:50:04.93 We are crucified with Him. 00:50:05.17\00:50:07.30 So it's not us that's perfect. 00:50:07.70\00:50:09.04 It's Jesus in us. 00:50:09.07\00:50:10.94 "I'm crucified with Christ; nevertheless, I live. 00:50:11.74\00:50:13.38 Yet not I, but Christ liveth in me." 00:50:13.41\00:50:15.88 This is the new covenant, this is the everlasting covenant. 00:50:15.91\00:50:18.05 This is the one that doesn't go away. 00:50:18.08\00:50:19.81 These are the powerful promises that we can hold on to. 00:50:19.85\00:50:23.49 1 Thessalonians 5:23, "May the God of peace 00:50:24.12\00:50:26.72 Himself sanctify you completely, 00:50:26.76\00:50:30.13 and preserve you blameless at the coming 00:50:30.56\00:50:34.40 of our Lord Jesus Christ." 00:50:34.43\00:50:36.00 He is able. 00:50:36.30\00:50:38.03 Okay, so then what still applies of the Bible? 00:50:38.60\00:50:44.27 If the Old Testament is not the old testament, 00:50:45.21\00:50:47.64 if it's not the old covenant, does it all then still apply? 00:50:47.98\00:50:51.08 I've got a little formula here that I think could apply to... 00:50:52.21\00:50:55.38 Although in Judaism they determined, Maimonides, 00:50:55.42\00:50:58.85 that there's 613 laws in the first part of the Bible. 00:50:58.89\00:51:02.52 So whatever, if there is exactly that, or whatever. 00:51:02.62\00:51:04.73 I think this rule can apply to all of them. 00:51:04.83\00:51:07.23 If the law was given to Adam and Eve before sin 00:51:08.50\00:51:13.40 entered this world, it is eternal. 00:51:13.44\00:51:16.20 It's before limited time. 00:51:16.64\00:51:17.97 Like we're in this age, you know. 00:51:18.01\00:51:19.44 This age is eventually going to end. 00:51:19.47\00:51:20.88 Right? We're in limited time. 00:51:20.91\00:51:22.24 Before the sin, they were in endless time. 00:51:22.28\00:51:25.91 Right? They had a weekly cycle, but an endless time. 00:51:25.95\00:51:27.88 They were suppose to live forever. 00:51:27.92\00:51:29.25 So it's eternal if it was given before this limited time. 00:51:29.38\00:51:32.19 It's eternal. 00:51:32.22\00:51:33.56 And it's universal. 00:51:34.09\00:51:35.42 It was given to Adam and Eve, the parents of mankind. 00:51:35.46\00:51:37.76 So it's universal to all mankind, to all people. 00:51:38.29\00:51:40.93 The Sabbath, was that there in the Garden of Eden? 00:51:42.50\00:51:44.83 Yes. So it's eternal and universal. 00:51:45.57\00:51:48.17 The circumcision, was circumcision there in 00:51:50.14\00:51:52.41 the Garden of Eden? 00:51:52.44\00:51:53.78 No, there's no mention of it there. 00:51:54.24\00:51:55.58 Not until Abraham 2000 years later, right? 00:51:55.61\00:51:57.48 So given to a specific person for a specific time. 00:51:57.71\00:52:00.08 Right? After sin had entered the world. 00:52:00.12\00:52:02.32 How about sacrificing? 00:52:02.38\00:52:03.72 Were there sacrifices in the Garden of Eden? 00:52:03.75\00:52:05.39 No. Outside the Garden of Eden, but not in the Garden of Eden. 00:52:05.85\00:52:08.62 Right? 00:52:08.66\00:52:09.99 We already talked about it; 00:52:10.73\00:52:12.79 no stealing and all those other things. 00:52:12.83\00:52:14.16 How about, did God say what they could eat and not eat 00:52:14.20\00:52:17.57 in the Garden of Eden? 00:52:17.60\00:52:18.93 Yes. 00:52:19.53\00:52:20.87 Yeah, He said you can't eat from that tree, right? 00:52:20.90\00:52:22.74 They weren't eating any hippopotamus' or anything, 00:52:24.24\00:52:27.44 you know, right? 00:52:27.48\00:52:28.81 He made some adjustments as we've gone along, 00:52:28.91\00:52:31.61 but He ruled over what we could eat and not eat. 00:52:31.65\00:52:33.85 The principles still apply. 00:52:34.52\00:52:35.92 How about the feasts? 00:52:36.92\00:52:38.25 Did they celebrate a Passover there in the Garden of Eden? 00:52:38.29\00:52:40.26 No. The Passover was not until 2500 years later, right? 00:52:41.52\00:52:44.49 Those are shadows. 00:52:45.53\00:52:46.86 Not that there's anything wrong with those things. 00:52:46.90\00:52:48.33 Right? It's wonderful to look at the shadow to better understand. 00:52:48.76\00:52:53.34 But it's not eternal and universal, 00:52:54.30\00:52:58.24 in that sense, like the others. 00:52:58.44\00:52:59.91 And I think, again, you can apply that to all of them. 00:52:59.94\00:53:01.51 And we can know which parts still apply, 00:53:01.54\00:53:03.14 universal and eternal, and which parts we're given for a time, 00:53:03.18\00:53:07.02 for a limited time, for a specific purpose, 00:53:07.05\00:53:08.88 as a shadow pointing to Jesus, 00:53:09.45\00:53:11.72 or for some other reason and purpose. 00:53:11.75\00:53:13.66 So the first part of the Bible is not the old covenant 00:53:15.39\00:53:20.26 or the old testament. 00:53:20.46\00:53:22.16 Again, I think we shoot ourselves, if not in the foot, 00:53:22.36\00:53:26.63 in the head, by using those terms. 00:53:27.37\00:53:30.11 Because it says those are obsolete, 00:53:30.81\00:53:32.14 being done away with, faulty. 00:53:32.17\00:53:34.28 And they're not. 00:53:34.78\00:53:36.11 It's one Bible. 00:53:36.34\00:53:37.68 We have one Bible. Several sections. 00:53:37.91\00:53:39.95 The Torah, the writings, prophets, gospels, Acts, 00:53:40.25\00:53:45.12 the epistles, Revelation. 00:53:45.32\00:53:47.32 So we've got sections. 00:53:47.89\00:53:49.22 But it's one Bible. 00:53:50.33\00:53:51.66 Filled with everlasting promises, 00:53:52.69\00:53:55.00 given to us by God, 00:53:55.53\00:53:57.30 that don't change, because God doesn't change. 00:53:58.20\00:54:00.77 Everlasting promises that we can rely on and we can hold fast to, 00:54:01.60\00:54:05.37 and we can trust upon and lean upon, 00:54:05.74\00:54:08.64 and trust in Him. 00:54:09.11\00:54:10.78 So I'd like to appeal to us today. 00:54:13.62\00:54:15.32 To put our trust totally in Him. 00:54:16.28\00:54:19.25 Not in New Year's resolutions, not in our promises. 00:54:20.19\00:54:24.83 If you've been making promises to God, 00:54:25.46\00:54:27.33 "I'm going to do better this year, God. 00:54:27.86\00:54:29.50 I'm going to read more in the Bible. 00:54:29.86\00:54:31.23 I'm going to attend services more regularly. 00:54:31.43\00:54:33.30 I'm going to get involved in that outreach. 00:54:33.34\00:54:35.20 God, I promise You, this year I'm going to do better." 00:54:35.24\00:54:37.61 Stop promising, 00:54:38.57\00:54:39.91 and ask God, live Your life in me. 00:54:41.28\00:54:43.11 Work in me. 00:54:43.95\00:54:45.28 And do in me what You would have me to do. 00:54:45.51\00:54:47.52 And fulfill Your purpose in me. 00:54:48.05\00:54:50.45 Lead me in prayer. 00:54:51.12\00:54:52.49 Lord, pray through me. 00:54:52.85\00:54:54.19 Lord, help me to understand Your Word. 00:54:55.02\00:54:56.79 Spiritual things are spiritually discerned. 00:54:56.83\00:54:59.06 Give me the ability to understand what I read. 00:55:00.30\00:55:02.46 Give me a love for Your Word so I want to read it, 00:55:02.56\00:55:05.00 that I desire to read it. 00:55:05.03\00:55:06.37 That I love your law as my desire all day long. 00:55:07.47\00:55:11.51 Give me that love, come inside me, give me Your mind. 00:55:12.57\00:55:15.18 Live Your life in me. 00:55:15.58\00:55:17.11 Write Your laws in my mind, in my heart. 00:55:17.15\00:55:20.12 If you put a CD into a CD player, 00:55:20.78\00:55:22.85 what's going to come out of the speakers? 00:55:22.98\00:55:24.49 If it's rap music, what's going to come out of the speakers? 00:55:26.02\00:55:28.62 Rap music. 00:55:29.16\00:55:30.49 You put beautiful gospel music in, what's going to come out? 00:55:31.06\00:55:34.30 Beautiful music, right? Beautiful music. 00:55:34.96\00:55:36.97 Let Him, let His mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus. 00:55:38.23\00:55:42.34 Jesus, place Your mind in me. 00:55:42.37\00:55:43.71 If you've been promising to God, I want you to 00:55:44.41\00:55:45.74 surrender that to Him today. 00:55:45.77\00:55:47.11 If you've believe in dispensational belief 00:55:47.38\00:55:49.28 or replacement theology belief, 00:55:49.31\00:55:51.41 you see now that both of those are wrong, 00:55:51.45\00:55:53.18 and you want to surrender that to Jesus, 00:55:53.48\00:55:54.82 "Jesus, I'm sorry for putting Jews on pedestals or 00:55:54.85\00:55:58.42 putting them in the gutter. 00:55:58.45\00:55:59.79 I'm sorry for thinking the first part of the Bible was old, 00:56:00.12\00:56:02.96 and referring to it that way. 00:56:04.03\00:56:05.56 Jesus, put Your words in my mouth, 00:56:07.43\00:56:08.80 put Your theology in my mind. 00:56:08.83\00:56:10.67 Speak through me. 00:56:11.23\00:56:12.57 Live through me. 00:56:12.67\00:56:14.00 Give me Your thoughts, Your attitude." 00:56:14.04\00:56:16.40 And if there's some sin in your life, 00:56:18.81\00:56:20.44 something you've been struggling with. 00:56:20.84\00:56:22.58 Some habit, some desire, some action. 00:56:23.01\00:56:27.15 Maybe you've been trying to give it up. 00:56:29.42\00:56:31.15 You've determined to give it up. 00:56:31.89\00:56:33.32 You've strove to give it up. 00:56:34.22\00:56:35.92 But you haven't given it up. 00:56:36.52\00:56:37.86 Give up, and let God. 00:56:39.46\00:56:42.80 Let Jesus work in you. 00:56:44.27\00:56:46.03 Surrender it to Him. 00:56:46.33\00:56:47.67 Confess it to Him. 00:56:47.70\00:56:49.04 Let Him remove it out of you. 00:56:49.47\00:56:51.54 It is His blood that cleanses your conscience from dead works. 00:56:51.97\00:56:56.34 Let His mind be in you. 00:56:57.61\00:56:59.38 Let Him give you the desire for the right to will and to do 00:56:59.81\00:57:04.32 of His good pleasure. 00:57:04.35\00:57:05.92 Let Him work in you and through you and for you, 00:57:06.35\00:57:10.03 and empowering you with His everlasting promise. 00:57:10.06\00:57:13.13 And stop living under the old covenant 00:57:13.43\00:57:16.36 of our own weak promises. 00:57:16.67\00:57:19.07 If any of those areas apply to you, 00:57:19.30\00:57:20.67 or anything else, as we pray together. 00:57:20.77\00:57:22.50 Our Lord and our God, Ruler of the universe, 00:57:23.41\00:57:25.24 we praise Your holy name and thank You 00:57:25.27\00:57:27.01 for Your great promises to us. 00:57:27.38\00:57:29.44 Live in us, through us. 00:57:29.88\00:57:32.08 Crucify us. 00:57:32.41\00:57:33.82 Live Your life out of us. 00:57:34.55\00:57:36.92 Perfect Your will, and sustain us and hold us 00:57:38.29\00:57:41.22 until your appearing. 00:57:43.06\00:57:44.39 And shine through us to the world 00:57:45.16\00:57:47.93 for Your honor and glory. 00:57:47.96\00:57:49.30 In Jesus' name, amen. 00:57:49.46\00:57:52.03
