passage in the book of Matthew.

It's amazing that right before
Matthew 24:14 is a passage

that kind of fits into the
way that the Lord has blessed me

through my wife's
very good cooking today.

It says, "He that shall
endure to the end shall be..."

What's the next
word? "...shall be saved."

We need spiritual nourishment
to endure to the end,

to make it
across the finish line,
00:04:05.45\00:04:08.29
to make it to the goal line,

to get that last shot
off in the basketball game.

We need endurance
to run that last mile.

As one of my faithful elders,

he said, "I'll be running

front door and there he was.

and ran all the way back.

And I think he's circled
the globe about 4 or 5 times,

all the running he's done.

But you know, friends, all
that running is of no value

unless we endure to the end.

So we are at the end, the
finish line in these last days.

And the Lord is
saying, "He that shall endure

to the end shall be saved."

But He follows that with
a very profound scripture.

The world is not going to
end with a nuclear explosion

or a massive extinction
level event earthquake.

It's going to end on the
highest and most positive

note of the ages.

Matthew 24:14 reads as follows.

Jesus is going to
have the last word.

The message that He has
given us will be delivered

before His return.

Jesus is the winner.

He's going to
have the final say.

The world is not going
to end on Satan's terms.

It's going to end
on Christ's terms.

But also, this is an
hour where Satan has really

turned up the heat.

Everybody is feeling it.

Whether you are wealthy
or whether you are poor.

Just recently, I think during
this week, more than 1600 homes

were destroyed in Texas.

The fires didn't care what the
person's financial status was.

Destruction comes to
the wealthy and to the poor.
00:06:12.44\00:06:14.83
When earthquakes
come and wipe out homes,

and tornados come and
wipe out people's life savings
00:06:17.28\00:06:19.61
and their life work, when stock
markets because of a financial
00:06:19.64\00:06:23.23
earthquake wipe out the
very thing people are hoping to
00:06:23.26\00:06:25.75
one day collect on, it
doesn't really care what
00:06:25.78\00:06:28.36
category you fall in.
00:06:28.39\00:06:29.79
That's why this is the age
where we have to trust the Lord
00:06:29.82\00:06:33.21
and look to Him as the author
and the finisher of our faith.
00:06:33.24\00:06:35.69
Jesus will have the last word.

But it is in this hour
He says these words to us

from a man who knows what it's
like to be sifted by the devil.

Listen to what Peter
says. 1 Peter 5 and verse 8.

I think this is kind
of personal for Peter

because it happened to him.
00:06:51.69\00:06:53.10
He begins with two words.
00:06:53.60\00:06:55.62
We were down in
Botswana two years in a row;
00:07:09.72\00:07:13.73
earlier this year
and also last year.
00:07:13.76\00:07:16.02
And we had a
chance to see a lioness
00:07:16.05\00:07:19.33
and her two baby lions.
00:07:19.36\00:07:21.28
It was the most exciting
thing because it was the
00:07:21.31\00:07:23.09
first time I saw a
lion that was not in a cage.
00:07:23.12\00:07:26.12
As a matter of
fact, I was in the cage.
00:07:26.15\00:07:28.26
I was the one that
needed protection from her.
00:07:30.10\00:07:32.95
But the person doing the tour
said, "Don't worry about it,
00:07:34.04\00:07:36.28
her stomach is full.
00:07:36.31\00:07:37.54
And lions don't kill
unless they're hungry,
00:07:37.57\00:07:40.37
or they feel that
they're being threatened
00:07:40.38\00:07:42.29
and that their
safety is in jeopardy,
00:07:42.32\00:07:44.34
or that you may be
between them and their cubs."
00:07:44.37\00:07:48.59
And so we had a chance.
00:07:49.22\00:07:50.32
I trained my Canon on
her, that is, my camera,

and put it on high speed mode
and took about 35 or 40 shots.

And I could almost paste them
together to make somewhat of an

old fashioned movie of the
continued strides of that lion.

But I had to respect the
ability which that lion has.

Because it may be quiet,
but it's still a man eater.
00:08:08.32\00:08:11.11
You may not hear Satan in
your life, you may not directly
00:08:11.58\00:08:15.38
feel the heat of what's
happening in these last days,
00:08:15.41\00:08:17.35
but we cannot forget
that he is a roaring lion
00:08:17.38\00:08:20.25
seeking whom he may devour.
00:08:20.28\00:08:21.94
And the reason why she
didn't bother us is because she
00:08:21.97\00:08:24.07
devoured
something before she saw us.
00:08:24.10\00:08:26.32
But Daniel makes it clear.
00:08:27.84\00:08:29.50
And the question is not whether
or not Satan is devouring.
00:08:31.60\00:08:34.05
The real question
is, what is he devouring?

Listen to the words
of Daniel the prophet
00:08:37.24\00:08:39.48
in Daniel 8 and verse 12.
00:08:39.51\00:08:41.39
Speaking of the enemy, he says:
00:08:41.42\00:08:43.63
In other words, Satan put
a lot of good jabs in there.
00:08:52.37\00:08:56.27
He may have hit Christ and
he may have wounded Christ.
00:08:57.08\00:09:00.11
But in the very end,
Jesus is going to win the match.

Throughout the ages,
Satan fights as a warrior
00:09:03.50\00:09:07.13
committed to a plan.
00:09:07.16\00:09:08.94
He cast the truth
down to the ground
00:09:09.59\00:09:12.00
and for a short time it
seemed as though he prospered.
00:09:12.01\00:09:14.87
But in the end, Jesus
always comes out victoriously.

We're living in the day
and age where truth is being
00:09:20.51\00:09:22.34
cast to the ground.
00:09:22.37\00:09:23.56
It's not being cast to
the ground unintentionally.
00:09:23.59\00:09:25.63
It's being cast to
the ground intentionally.
00:09:25.66\00:09:27.71
A lot of churches don't
want to teach the truth.

You go to YouTube and
just type in the word "Sabbath"

and you will see the
plethora of videos that come up.
00:09:35.47\00:09:38.39
Many of them mocking and
belittling the Bible Sabbath.

Many of them laughing at
those who keep the Sabbath.

And then pastors stand
in their pulpit and say,

"I honor the
seventh day of the week.
00:09:50.61\00:09:52.19
I keep it holy and
I keep Sunday holy.
00:09:52.71\00:09:55.40
And I keep Monday holy,
and I keep Tuesday holy."
00:09:55.41\00:09:58.05
And the thousands
of their church members
00:09:58.08\00:10:00.08
to the glee of their foolishness
begin to applaud them
00:10:00.11\00:10:03.06
in their determination to
resist the truth of God's word.
00:10:03.09\00:10:06.67
Truth is being
cast to the ground.
00:10:07.26\00:10:09.02
Truth is not being preferred.
00:10:09.33\00:10:11.03
People want to feel good.
00:10:11.06\00:10:12.42
They want great
choirs and great programs
00:10:12.45\00:10:14.47
and great community outreach.
00:10:14.50\00:10:15.72
Those are good things,
nothing bad about that.
00:10:15.75\00:10:17.83
But when they are preferred
over the truth of God's word,
00:10:17.86\00:10:20.62
that's where
the danger comes in.

Truth is being
cast to the ground.

It is this age that
the Lord says to us;
00:10:25.06\00:10:27.55
the dark age for the world,
but this should be a bright age

for the church.

And here's the reason why.

1 Thessalonians
chapter 5 verse 1 to verse 6.

The Lord says to us:

We've got so much knowledge.

You know if you study the Bible,
all these things happening
00:10:55.23\00:10:58.18
in the world are not
coming to you by surprise.

If you read prophecy, all
these things are not a shock.
00:11:01.18\00:11:03.86
I think one song writer says,
"It may be another earthquake
00:11:03.89\00:11:07.45
or just another war.
00:11:07.48\00:11:09.27
But to every child of
God, it's something more.
00:11:09.30\00:11:12.30
When you hear the
sound of marching,
00:11:12.68\00:11:14.70
hear the sound
of the battle cry,
00:11:14.71\00:11:16.77
we know our Lord is coming,
even now it may be nigh."

So when we see all
these things in the world,

it's saying to us,
"Jesus is on His way."

Just like when you see a
dust cloud in the distance

in the desert, you know
something is coming your way.

In the very same
way, Paul the apostle says

"I don't really have
any reason to write to you.
00:11:31.24\00:11:33.88
You are the
church. You should know.
00:11:33.91\00:11:35.56
It's the world
that's in darkness."
00:11:35.59\00:11:36.95
Look at verse 2.
00:11:36.98\00:11:38.18
Not to the
Christian, but to the world.

And this is not
the secret rapture.
00:11:49.04\00:11:51.16
But it comes upon them because
they're not prepared for it.

All those books we have on the
shelf; The Great Controversy,

Conflict series,
Bible commentaries,

all the books we have,
we are not in darkness.

We know what's coming.

As a matter of fact, I
said this to my wife just

I think a day or so ago.

I said, "Seventh-day Adventists
could literally publish in the
00:12:25.18\00:12:27.87
newspaper predictions of what's
going to happen in the future.
00:12:27.88\00:12:30.61
And it will happen
exactly as we say."

Because God has given us
a glimpse, an understanding
00:12:34.85\00:12:39.23
of Bible prophecy that
no other denomination has.
00:12:39.26\00:12:43.15
So we could publish something
and say, "Here's what's going to
00:12:44.49\00:12:46.94
happen in the government.
00:12:46.95\00:12:48.01
Here's what's going to
happen in the Protestant world.
00:12:48.04\00:12:49.98
Here's what's going to happen as
it relates to the Sunday law."
00:12:50.01\00:12:52.57
And it will
occur as we've said it.
00:12:53.26\00:12:55.25
And you know what?
00:12:55.26\00:12:56.26
We ought to do that
because every now and then
00:12:56.27\00:12:58.00
when something
happens, evangelicals come out
00:12:58.03\00:13:01.02
of the woodwork, "This is
the battle of Armageddon."
00:13:01.05\00:13:02.82
I remember that very well,
1990, when the Gulf War began.
00:13:02.85\00:13:05.97
They all said, "This is
the battle of Armageddon."
00:13:06.00\00:13:07.92
And one news reporter said...
00:13:07.95\00:13:09.67
I think I used this
story in my first meeting.
00:13:09.70\00:13:11.31
But one news reporter said,
"If you knew that the battle of
00:13:11.34\00:13:14.66
Armageddon was
coming, why didn't you tell us
00:13:14.67\00:13:17.11
before it came so
that we could be ready?"
00:13:17.12\00:13:18.99
We can honestly, as a
church, write pages upon pages
00:13:21.23\00:13:26.47
of events that will
unfold in the future
00:13:26.50\00:13:28.95
and be exactly accurate.

Not all the
details, but the end result.

Another phrase, "Watch
and be ready," is another way.

so that he can keep people

he can keep them shackled.

truth because it is the means

whereby his hold is broken.

Satan has
established strongholds.

And I go so far as saying he's
established many strongholds

even in the Christian world.

The Bible predicted
that he would do that.

The Bible said that there will
be those who feel that they are

rich and increased with
goods and have need of nothing,

but they don't
understand their own condition;

wretched, miserable,
poor, blind, and naked.

That's not the world.

Do you know that the
world doesn't have to change?

The world is already
on the course to be lost.

But the danger is in the church,
the place where light is.

The devil is not
concerned about somebody

that's not shooting at him.

He's not concerned about
those who are sitting as a fan

at a baseball game.

He's concerned
about the opposing team.

We are the opposing team.

And once you get
on the Lord's side,

the devil is always against you.

And Jesus said, "He that
is not with Me..." is what?

...against Me."

"He that's not gathering
with Me is scattering abroad."

So wherever there is
darkness, the truth is,

the prince of
darkness is at work.

He resists the truth.

And even those who resist
the truth, the reason is clearly

Look what Timothy wrote
in 2 Timothy 3 verses 7 to 9.

This is one of those
passages that we often ignore

because it
doesn't fit into the...
00:15:40.50\00:15:42.53
You know, "Unthankful, unholy,
without natural affection,
00:15:43.09\00:15:45.57
disobedient to parents."
00:15:45.60\00:15:46.95
It doesn't fit
into that category.
00:15:46.98\00:15:48.34
It fits into one
that we often overlook.
00:15:48.37\00:15:51.08
But it pulls us back to a
story in the old testament.
00:15:51.11\00:15:54.01
When Moses was
resisted by two magicians
00:15:56.14\00:15:59.48
in the courts of Egypt.
00:15:59.51\00:16:01.01
How they were able to
turn two rods into snakes
00:16:01.56\00:16:04.43
right in the presence of Moses.
00:16:04.46\00:16:06.83
And although it's not mentioned
in detail in the Old Testament,
00:16:07.51\00:16:12.34
Timothy now brings it to
our mind again in the New.
00:16:13.32\00:16:16.75
Notice what he says.
00:16:16.78\00:16:17.91
He begins in verse 7 by
saying, "Always learning."
00:16:17.94\00:16:21.47
You know, you can study the
Bible for the rest of your life
00:16:28.34\00:16:30.54
and ignore all the
things that lead you to truth.

You can read the
book of Psalms everyday
00:16:33.89\00:16:35.32
and ignore the things
that are critical issues
00:16:36.05\00:16:37.91
in the Christian walk.

He says in verse 8:

Ellen White says in the
book, Patriot And Prophets,

she says Jannes and Jambres
did not possess the ability
00:17:07.91\00:17:12.00
to give life to sticks.
00:17:12.03\00:17:14.53
And Satan does not have
the ability to turn sticks into
00:17:15.68\00:17:20.77
something that is alive.
00:17:20.78\00:17:21.78
Only God can give life.

But she said this,
and this is powerful.

She says, but he's
the master illusionist

and he creates in the
