Okay. 00:02:21.87\00:02:23.20 All right now, and we've been using 00:02:23.24\00:02:24.61 the three tiers of credibility. 00:02:24.64\00:02:26.98 Tier number one is God's Word, the standard of truth. 00:02:27.01\00:02:30.41 And we always open up with God's Word. 00:02:30.45\00:02:32.51 Tier number two is an inspired author 00:02:32.55\00:02:34.72 that we're featuring throughout this series, Ellen White. 00:02:34.75\00:02:37.49 And tier number three is a scientific literature, 00:02:37.52\00:02:40.22 usually in that order. 00:02:40.26\00:02:41.82 So I'm glad you're with us today 00:02:41.86\00:02:43.26 and I've got a lot to cover them. 00:02:43.29\00:02:44.73 Again, we're not going to be 00:02:44.76\00:02:46.09 covering everything in our workbook. 00:02:46.13\00:02:47.86 We're on sunlight. 00:02:47.90\00:02:49.23 We're gonna be doing a webinar later on. 00:02:49.26\00:02:50.93 If you contact us, 00:02:50.97\00:02:52.30 we can get you in touch with that webinar, 00:02:52.33\00:02:54.07 that's upcoming as well. 00:02:54.10\00:02:55.44 So S is for sunlight, 00:02:55.47\00:02:57.47 so wherever you go regardless of the rain, 00:02:57.51\00:03:01.01 the weather, we can bring our own sunlight with us. 00:03:01.04\00:03:06.98 Okay, I like that. I like that. 00:03:07.02\00:03:08.35 Yes, regardless. Okay. 00:03:08.38\00:03:10.19 So, you know, they're going as they're saying, 00:03:10.22\00:03:13.05 right now those who've been bringing their Bibles 00:03:13.09\00:03:14.96 every time we had the program on, 00:03:14.99\00:03:17.13 what does the Word of God say about sunlight? 00:03:17.16\00:03:19.93 Okay. 00:03:19.96\00:03:21.43 It has a lot to say about sunlight. 00:03:21.46\00:03:23.13 We did this program some years ago, 00:03:23.16\00:03:25.33 kind of updating use some more different texts 00:03:25.37\00:03:27.57 that we did before. I want to go to Malachi 4:2. 00:03:27.60\00:03:32.04 Malachi 4:2. 00:03:32.07\00:03:36.18 I want to start with verse 1, 00:03:36.21\00:03:37.55 and then we'll go to verse 2, all right. 00:03:37.58\00:03:39.38 I want to read this from the NIV version. 00:03:39.41\00:03:41.95 Malachi 4:1. 00:03:41.98\00:03:45.75 The Bible says, "Surely the day is coming." 00:03:45.79\00:03:50.43 I'm going to just take my time on this one. 00:03:50.46\00:03:52.59 "Surely the day is coming." 00:03:52.63\00:03:55.46 So what day is that? 00:03:55.50\00:03:57.87 Is it a birthday, or anniversary, Christmas? 00:03:57.90\00:04:02.14 What day is God referring to? 00:04:02.17\00:04:03.84 "Surely the day is coming, it will burn like a furnace." 00:04:03.87\00:04:09.04 Oh, wait a minute. 00:04:09.08\00:04:11.11 Now we're talking about hellfire. 00:04:11.15\00:04:12.91 When fire comes down from heaven, 00:04:12.95\00:04:15.25 that's the day that God is talking about. 00:04:15.28\00:04:18.45 And what's going to happen to these people? 00:04:18.49\00:04:20.62 Oh, "All of the arrogant 00:04:20.66\00:04:24.33 and every evildoer 00:04:24.36\00:04:27.83 will be stubble." 00:04:27.86\00:04:30.47 Arrogant, proud. 00:04:30.50\00:04:33.77 The Bible says, 00:04:33.80\00:04:35.34 "God, these just six things 00:04:35.37\00:04:37.07 doth the Lord hate: yea, seven." 00:04:37.11\00:04:40.48 And the first one listed is a proud look. 00:04:40.51\00:04:44.21 So those who are proud, and boastful, 00:04:44.25\00:04:46.28 and self confident, it's all about self arrogant, 00:04:46.31\00:04:51.62 and the Bible says, evildoers. 00:04:51.65\00:04:55.72 "Those who just have no respect of God, 00:04:55.76\00:04:58.63 no spiritual inclination, no prayer life, 00:04:58.66\00:05:02.66 just want to do their own thing, 00:05:02.70\00:05:04.03 just evildoers, 00:05:04.07\00:05:05.47 no reference to the Ten Commandments 00:05:05.50\00:05:07.44 in their hearts. 00:05:07.47\00:05:08.80 Jesus not even part of their life. 00:05:08.84\00:05:10.17 "Evildoers will be stubble, burned up." 00:05:10.21\00:05:14.94 Just talking about the day and get this now, 00:05:14.98\00:05:17.75 "And the day that is coming will set them on fire 00:05:17.78\00:05:22.98 saith the Lord Almighty. 00:05:23.02\00:05:27.39 Not a root or branch will be left in them." 00:05:27.42\00:05:30.43 Now, verse 1, 00:05:30.46\00:05:33.06 we don't want to be a part of verse 1. 00:05:33.09\00:05:35.46 We don't want to be 00:05:35.50\00:05:36.83 a group of verse 1 in that group. 00:05:36.87\00:05:40.00 Praise God for verse 2, 00:05:40.04\00:05:43.07 because the first word in verse 2 is the word, 00:05:43.10\00:05:45.94 but, that's a transition, change of thought. 00:05:45.97\00:05:49.74 But the Bible says, NIV, "For you who revere my name," 00:05:49.78\00:05:56.22 Christians acknowledge Christ as their personal savior, 00:05:56.25\00:06:01.16 those people. 00:06:01.19\00:06:02.52 "The sun of righteousness..." 00:06:02.56\00:06:05.26 Wait a minute. 00:06:05.29\00:06:06.63 Wait a minute now. 00:06:06.66\00:06:08.83 Okay, now notice now, 00:06:08.86\00:06:11.07 the word sun of righteousness is spelled not S-O-N, 00:06:11.10\00:06:17.77 is S-U-N, "sun of righteousness, 00:06:17.81\00:06:21.94 will rise with healing in its rays." 00:06:21.98\00:06:25.95 Now, the Word of God has a lot of titles 00:06:25.98\00:06:30.49 in the Word of God as far as Christ is concerned. 00:06:30.52\00:06:35.12 The Bright and Morning Star, the Great I Am, Immanuel, 00:06:35.16\00:06:41.73 Christ, Prince of Peace. 00:06:41.76\00:06:44.80 But here in this passage is remember were mentioned 00:06:44.83\00:06:49.97 as Jesus as the Sun, S-U-N, 00:06:50.01\00:06:54.48 not S-O-N of righteousness. 00:06:54.51\00:06:57.85 And it always intrigued me why did the Word of God 00:06:57.88\00:07:01.52 mentions the word sun S-U-N for Jesus Christ, not S-O-N. 00:07:01.55\00:07:07.79 And then we began to look at the characteristics of the sun, 00:07:07.82\00:07:13.33 and the characteristics of Jesus Christ, 00:07:13.36\00:07:17.03 we see that there's a similarity. 00:07:17.07\00:07:18.50 Number one, 00:07:18.53\00:07:19.87 what characteristics of the sun and Jesus Christ is? 00:07:19.90\00:07:23.37 Number one, they're always dependable. 00:07:23.41\00:07:26.47 True. 00:07:26.51\00:07:27.84 Every single morning, the sun will rise. 00:07:27.88\00:07:33.52 Jesus, we can depend on Him as well. 00:07:33.55\00:07:35.15 Now here's the thing. 00:07:35.18\00:07:37.15 Sometimes the sun is not visible, 00:07:37.19\00:07:40.42 it cannot be seen. 00:07:40.46\00:07:42.09 It doesn't mean it does not exist. 00:07:42.12\00:07:44.49 Sometimes in our lives going through situations, 00:07:44.53\00:07:49.06 sometimes we feel that Jesus is not there. 00:07:49.10\00:07:52.20 He's not present, but He is just like the sun, 00:07:52.23\00:07:55.10 He's always present, 00:07:55.14\00:07:56.47 although you may not be able to see the sun visibly. 00:07:56.50\00:07:59.74 Number two, the sun arise in the east, 00:07:59.77\00:08:06.18 sets in the west. 00:08:06.21\00:08:08.58 Matthew Chapter 24, 00:08:08.62\00:08:09.95 when Christ comes a second time, the Bible says, 00:08:09.98\00:08:12.72 Christ will come from the east. 00:08:12.75\00:08:16.73 So therefore both come from the east. 00:08:16.76\00:08:20.23 Now I may be pointing this way that may be north, 00:08:20.26\00:08:22.90 I'm not sure where I am in the studio here, but again, 00:08:22.93\00:08:25.93 both rise in the east, and also the sun is bright. 00:08:25.97\00:08:31.07 The Bible says in Genesis, 00:08:31.11\00:08:32.57 He created the greater light to rule the day, sunlight. 00:08:32.61\00:08:37.58 Jesus is sometimes referred to as the Bright and Morning Star. 00:08:37.61\00:08:42.68 So there's a resemblance of the Sun S-U-N 00:08:42.72\00:08:47.32 and a son of God S-O-N, so therefore, 00:08:47.36\00:08:50.99 and arise with healing... 00:08:51.03\00:08:52.36 Yes, yes. ..in his rays. 00:08:52.39\00:08:54.76 We're going to be talking about some of the healing 00:08:54.80\00:08:56.33 in the rays of the sunlight as well. 00:08:56.36\00:08:58.97 Okay, that was a good... 00:08:59.00\00:09:00.34 That's a good explanation. Yes. 00:09:00.37\00:09:01.70 And I know, 00:09:01.74\00:09:03.07 I know you were thinking about that when you saw that, 00:09:03.10\00:09:04.44 when you saw that in the Scripture, 00:09:04.47\00:09:05.84 and now you know how to differentiate 00:09:05.87\00:09:08.38 between the word son and sun. 00:09:08.41\00:09:11.75 And you know now also that they're one and the same. 00:09:11.78\00:09:15.08 Right, and they both are necessary. 00:09:15.12\00:09:16.58 They both are very necessary. 00:09:16.62\00:09:17.95 Because if the sunlight were not to shine at all, 00:09:17.99\00:09:23.09 we will die. 00:09:23.12\00:09:24.83 I mean, we're not talking about wicked. 00:09:24.86\00:09:26.19 I mean, we cannot live without sunlight. 00:09:26.23\00:09:31.17 We cannot live spiritually without the Son of God. 00:09:31.20\00:09:35.17 Both are critical and both are necessary. 00:09:35.20\00:09:38.57 Now, while you're talking about that, 00:09:38.61\00:09:39.94 I know that individual are thinking 00:09:39.97\00:09:41.78 and they're saying, 00:09:41.81\00:09:43.14 "Okay, but I heard that sunlight causes cancer." 00:09:43.18\00:09:47.75 Oh, my goodness. 00:09:47.78\00:09:49.12 Yeah, I've heard that. 00:09:49.15\00:09:50.49 You know, "Curtis, 00:09:50.52\00:09:51.85 sunlight causes cancer and skin cancer," all right. 00:09:51.89\00:09:55.26 Let me just say this. 00:09:55.29\00:09:57.83 The European Journal of Cancer put out an article. 00:09:57.86\00:10:02.20 And this is a meta-analysis, 00:10:02.23\00:10:03.70 that means that there are several studies 00:10:03.73\00:10:06.00 together come up with a summary. 00:10:06.03\00:10:08.70 This is based on 57 studies done on sun exposure 00:10:08.74\00:10:15.64 and skin cancer, 00:10:15.68\00:10:18.05 particularly melanoma 00:10:18.08\00:10:20.45 which is the most deadliest cancer, 00:10:20.48\00:10:22.52 accounting for up to 80% 00:10:22.55\00:10:23.89 of all cancer death is melanoma. 00:10:23.92\00:10:26.59 And in this article, in this medical journal, 00:10:26.62\00:10:30.56 in summary, 00:10:30.59\00:10:32.26 those who have long exposures to sunlight 00:10:32.29\00:10:38.57 such as vacation or picnic all day long, 00:10:38.60\00:10:41.34 those who live near the coastal areas, 00:10:41.37\00:10:44.67 because dry sand reflects more of the ultraviolet rays 17% 00:10:44.71\00:10:51.31 than other areas on the land, 00:10:51.35\00:10:54.22 and also those who have a history of sun burning 00:10:54.25\00:10:57.75 have a dramatic increase of skin cancer. 00:10:57.79\00:11:01.76 But those who have a regular brief exposure 00:11:01.79\00:11:05.86 to sunlight have just the opposite, 00:11:05.89\00:11:09.16 first they have no skin cancer. 00:11:09.20\00:11:10.87 So therefore, it's more or less depend 00:11:10.90\00:11:12.53 on the length of time and exposure, 00:11:12.57\00:11:14.74 and that kind of thing. 00:11:14.77\00:11:16.10 So what's the best time of day to action? 00:11:16.14\00:11:18.11 The best time of day and you have different... 00:11:18.14\00:11:20.04 you have three different types of rays. 00:11:20.08\00:11:21.54 You have the ultraviolet A, ultraviolet B, ultraviolet C. 00:11:21.58\00:11:27.78 Now we don't hear about ultraviolet C, 00:11:27.82\00:11:29.28 because it doesn't reach the earth. 00:11:29.32\00:11:31.45 Ultraviolet B rays, it's raised as... 00:11:31.49\00:11:33.66 It has the most healing properties 00:11:33.69\00:11:35.79 and that's between the hours of 10 to 4, 00:11:35.82\00:11:39.46 ultraviolet B rays, all right. 00:11:39.49\00:11:42.20 I think we have a graphic on the screen 00:11:42.23\00:11:43.67 because also depending on where we live also determines 00:11:43.70\00:11:47.77 how effective sunlight is as well. 00:11:47.80\00:11:50.61 So let's go to the screen at this time 00:11:50.64\00:11:52.47 and let's look at the map 00:11:52.51\00:11:54.08 as far as the latitude is concerned 00:11:54.11\00:11:56.31 for sunlight therapy. 00:11:56.34\00:11:58.98 So here is the map of the United States here. 00:11:59.01\00:12:01.95 I know this is shown worldwide, 00:12:01.98\00:12:04.12 but you see the 37th latitude there. 00:12:04.15\00:12:06.89 So those are individuals in the dark area to the north, 00:12:06.92\00:12:10.86 you may need supplementation, 00:12:10.89\00:12:12.59 but below that in the south area, 00:12:12.63\00:12:16.20 you get adequate amount of sunlight. 00:12:16.23\00:12:18.73 Some say at the 35th latitude, 00:12:18.77\00:12:20.77 which would be Los Angeles on the west side. 00:12:20.80\00:12:23.97 And so but this is very liberal 37th latitude, so in the south, 00:12:24.01\00:12:29.04 you get adequate amount of sunlight 00:12:29.08\00:12:30.95 and it should be good for vitamin D exposure. 00:12:30.98\00:12:34.28 All right, so thank you for the graphic. 00:12:34.32\00:12:35.82 Now, I want to go with you and your story 00:12:35.85\00:12:38.15 before we go into the kitchen, Honey. 00:12:38.19\00:12:39.52 I know that vitamin D a lot can be said 00:12:39.55\00:12:42.29 but we run out of time, it's more in the workbook. 00:12:42.32\00:12:44.86 I know you had vitamin D test done and... 00:12:44.89\00:12:47.96 Let's talk about that for a moment 00:12:48.00\00:12:49.43 and far as your numbers and then we can explain 00:12:49.46\00:12:52.33 as you talk through that? 00:12:52.37\00:12:53.70 Okay. Okay. 00:12:53.74\00:12:55.07 Well, one of the things that each year 00:12:55.10\00:12:56.44 I get a physical, 00:12:56.47\00:12:57.81 I had a physical done 00:12:57.84\00:12:59.17 and they did my vitamin D stores. 00:12:59.21\00:13:01.11 And when they did a vitamin D store, 00:13:01.14\00:13:03.65 there was a number that they were looking for. 00:13:03.68\00:13:06.48 And my numbers was way low. 00:13:06.51\00:13:08.72 Okay. 00:13:08.75\00:13:10.09 The numbers that they were looking for was what? 00:13:10.12\00:13:12.59 So, the numbers was, I think, 00:13:12.62\00:13:14.26 the optimum is from 50 to 80 is optimum. 00:13:14.29\00:13:20.70 50 to 80 is optimum, all right, 00:13:20.73\00:13:24.00 25 to 50 is insufficient 00:13:24.03\00:13:28.30 25 to 50 is insufficient, 00:13:28.34\00:13:30.94 less than 25 is very low. 00:13:30.97\00:13:34.88 Okay, so you want to know what my number was? 00:13:34.91\00:13:37.55 My number was 18. 00:13:37.58\00:13:40.22 And so the doctor want to put me on 00:13:40.25\00:13:42.32 some type of medication drug and you already know 00:13:42.35\00:13:46.02 that we are really more into, 00:13:46.05\00:13:47.89 how can we get this more naturally 00:13:47.92\00:13:49.42 and take care of ourselves? 00:13:49.46\00:13:50.93 And so we said, "We will handle that." 00:13:50.96\00:13:53.33 We actually just get some supplements. 00:13:53.36\00:13:57.13 Okay. 00:13:57.17\00:13:58.50 I actually started taking supplements. 00:13:58.53\00:13:59.87 And tell them what did you take in particular? 00:13:59.90\00:14:02.10 I began taking vitamin D3 supplements. 00:14:02.14\00:14:04.14 D3, okay. 00:14:04.17\00:14:05.64 I would take them for a couple of months, 00:14:05.67\00:14:07.81 because then she said she wants to see me back. 00:14:07.84\00:14:09.58 Because, of course, 00:14:09.61\00:14:10.95 she wants to give me medicine, all right. 00:14:10.98\00:14:12.31 And what was the dosage? 00:14:12.35\00:14:13.68 Do you remember the dosage? 00:14:13.72\00:14:15.05 Fifteen thousand units a day. 00:14:15.08\00:14:16.42 I thought... Universal 5,000. 00:14:16.45\00:14:18.32 5,000 international units. 00:14:18.35\00:14:19.69 5,000 international units a day... 00:14:19.72\00:14:21.49 Almost 15,000. Yeah. 00:14:21.52\00:14:22.86 And, I think, let me just say this for the record. 00:14:22.89\00:14:25.13 My wife has a sun sensitivity. 00:14:25.16\00:14:27.96 Yes. She does. 00:14:28.00\00:14:29.33 I mean, she cannot be in the sunlight 00:14:29.36\00:14:30.70 for a long period of time. 00:14:30.73\00:14:32.07 So because of that, 00:14:32.10\00:14:33.44 even though we live below that 37th latitude 00:14:33.47\00:14:35.40 because of sun sensitivity, 00:14:35.44\00:14:37.24 then it pushed her into the supplementation 00:14:37.27\00:14:40.04 of vitamin D3 5,000 international units. 00:14:40.08\00:14:42.88 So I took the supplements for a while 00:14:42.91\00:14:45.05 and I went back to my doctor, are you ready for this? 00:14:45.08\00:14:47.82 You know, God is awesome, okay. 00:14:47.85\00:14:49.35 Okay. 00:14:49.38\00:14:50.72 Sixty three. 00:14:50.75\00:14:52.09 Oh, my goodness. Okay, my doctor was so shocked. 00:14:52.12\00:14:53.46 She said, "Wait, wait a minute." 00:14:53.49\00:14:55.06 She said, "Now Okay, 18-63. 00:14:55.09\00:14:58.23 Okay, I need whatever you're doing stop it, 00:14:58.26\00:14:59.76 stop it because you... 00:14:59.79\00:15:01.13 I don't want you to go up to 80," right. 00:15:01.16\00:15:02.50 Yeah, pass 80. 00:15:02.53\00:15:03.87 So where I was taking them every day, okay, 00:15:03.90\00:15:06.00 then I began just like three times a day. 00:15:06.03\00:15:07.84 Every time I decided then okay, 00:15:07.87\00:15:09.70 "Well, I will just stop and go every other day 00:15:09.74\00:15:12.61 and see what goes on." I do not want to go to that. 00:15:12.64\00:15:15.44 And by the way, vitamin D is also a fat soluble vitamin, 00:15:15.48\00:15:18.41 so it's one that the liver can have 00:15:18.45\00:15:20.28 a rough time when if it gets over-toxified. 00:15:20.32\00:15:21.88 Right, right. 00:15:21.92\00:15:23.25 So once again, just by doing that with the D3, 00:15:23.28\00:15:25.42 it made a difference. 00:15:25.45\00:15:26.79 And we hear a lot of people, I mean, 00:15:26.82\00:15:28.16 a lot of women who have a vitamin D deficiency, 00:15:28.19\00:15:30.19 and this actually worked really well. 00:15:30.23\00:15:31.76 Yeah, I want to say one last statement 00:15:31.79\00:15:34.63 that our body is a photosynthetic. 00:15:34.66\00:15:38.87 What I mean by that is that we are covered 00:15:38.90\00:15:41.50 with actually solar energy cells through our bodies. 00:15:41.54\00:15:46.78 So when the sunlight hits our skin, our eyes, 00:15:46.81\00:15:49.34 it converts into chemical energy 00:15:49.38\00:15:51.68 just like the plant kingdom. 00:15:51.71\00:15:53.05 So, in fact David says, 00:15:53.08\00:15:54.42 "I am fearfully and wonderfully made." 00:15:54.45\00:15:56.05 I mean, we are simply photosynthetic. 00:15:56.08\00:16:00.56 We are designed to receive sunlight 00:16:00.59\00:16:03.36 and transport that into chemical energy 00:16:03.39\00:16:06.23 and as a whole host of things that does to the body 00:16:06.26\00:16:09.03 as far as lowering your blood pressure, 00:16:09.06\00:16:11.97 diabetes, mood, etc and immune system. 00:16:12.00\00:16:16.17 So sunlight is good, 00:16:16.20\00:16:17.57 and I think it's time to go into the kitchen, Honey. 00:16:17.61\00:16:19.77 Yes, it is. 00:16:19.81\00:16:21.14 It doesn't mean that I don't, I go out in the sun, 00:16:21.18\00:16:22.78 but I make sure that I'm completely covered 00:16:22.81\00:16:24.31 when I go outside in the sun. 00:16:24.35\00:16:26.38 But speaking of the sun, 00:16:26.41\00:16:28.52 there is a recipe we're going to do today 00:16:28.55\00:16:30.69 that is going to be absolutely delicious. 00:16:30.72\00:16:33.09 It is our mock pepper steak with gravy. 00:16:33.12\00:16:37.09 Get your paper and your pencil, and meet us in the kitchen. 00:16:37.13\00:16:40.53
