For most people, about half of what we eat, 00:00:01.36\00:00:03.47 keeps us alive. 00:00:03.50\00:00:05.33 It's the other half that keep's the doctor alive. 00:00:05.37\00:00:08.57 Today's program is about 00:00:08.60\00:00:09.94 that first half entitled "E for Eating." 00:00:09.97\00:00:13.27 We'll be right back. 00:00:13.31\00:00:14.64 Hi, welcome to Abundant Living. 00:00:36.80\00:00:38.43 My name is Curtis Eakins and this is my beautiful bride. 00:00:38.47\00:00:43.61 In a few months... I'm going to say my own name. 00:00:43.64\00:00:45.37 Okay, say your own name, honey. 00:00:45.41\00:00:46.74 Paula Eakins. Did they hear you? 00:00:46.78\00:00:49.04 Paula Eakins. All right. 00:00:49.08\00:00:51.38 And coming up on, at least the time of this taping, 00:00:51.41\00:00:54.88 coming up on 25 years, almost silver anniversary. 00:00:54.92\00:00:59.59 I think we're gonna make it. What do you think? 00:00:59.62\00:01:01.76 I believe so. 00:01:01.79\00:01:03.12 I believe so too. I believe so. 00:01:03.16\00:01:04.49 I'm gonna make it. I don't know about you. 00:01:04.53\00:01:05.86 Okay. 00:01:05.89\00:01:07.23 What's that saying you always say? 00:01:07.26\00:01:08.60 You say, "If I go..." No. 00:01:08.63\00:01:10.43 If you ever leave me, I'm going with you. 00:01:10.47\00:01:13.20 Okay. Okay. Yeah, so... 00:01:13.23\00:01:14.57 You know, but that's a big if, but we're not gonna go there. 00:01:14.60\00:01:17.07 No, we're not gonna go there 00:01:17.11\00:01:18.44 because today we're talking about eating. 00:01:18.47\00:01:20.14 Yeah, so now, again, this is an acronym 00:01:20.18\00:01:23.04 we've been using for this series. 00:01:23.08\00:01:25.21 The acronym is Healers. 00:01:25.25\00:01:27.35 H is for herbal medicine. 00:01:27.38\00:01:30.05 E today eating. 00:01:30.09\00:01:32.15 A is adoration, music, praise, and prayer. 00:01:32.19\00:01:35.69 L is for liquids. 00:01:35.72\00:01:37.69 E is for exercise. 00:01:37.73\00:01:39.56 R is for rest, 00:01:39.59\00:01:40.93 and S is for sunlight and the Son of God, 00:01:40.96\00:01:44.00 Healers. 00:01:44.03\00:01:45.37 So we're now in a second letter, 00:01:45.40\00:01:46.84 E for eating. 00:01:46.87\00:01:48.27 And we've been using the references, 00:01:48.30\00:01:51.84 three references mainly. 00:01:51.87\00:01:53.68 Reference number one is God's Word. 00:01:53.71\00:01:55.74 That is the standard truth. 00:01:55.78\00:01:57.11 God is the source of all wisdom and knowledge. 00:01:57.15\00:01:59.41 So God's Word is the standard truth, 00:01:59.45\00:02:00.78 we'll be using that. 00:02:00.82\00:02:02.25 Number two would be using 00:02:02.28\00:02:03.62 also an aspired author named Ellen White, 00:02:03.65\00:02:06.65 inspired and also the second most author... 00:02:06.69\00:02:10.43 translated in United States, 00:02:10.46\00:02:11.79 but first in United States, second in the world 00:02:11.83\00:02:14.00 according to the Library of Congress, 00:02:14.03\00:02:15.96 and then third, we will be using sometimes 00:02:16.00\00:02:18.30 scientific literature as well, 00:02:18.33\00:02:19.67 the three tiers of credibility, we call that. 00:02:19.70\00:02:21.64 Now the fourth tier is everything else. 00:02:21.67\00:02:24.94 What you heard and what you read, 00:02:24.97\00:02:26.61 And what you said, 00:02:26.64\00:02:28.11 and you know, whatever. 00:02:28.14\00:02:30.01 So we're not gonna use that too. 00:02:30.05\00:02:32.51 Yeah, so today is E for eating. 00:02:32.55\00:02:35.22 And so because you know, 00:02:35.25\00:02:36.89 there's a lot of things about eating, 00:02:36.92\00:02:38.55 and we can cover everything. 00:02:38.59\00:02:39.92 We're going to be talking about... 00:02:39.95\00:02:41.29 also a webinar we'll be doing as well to get more in detail. 00:02:41.32\00:02:44.76 But you know, we've heard so much in our travels, honey. 00:02:44.79\00:02:47.50 I mean, should we eat chocolate for the antioxidant? 00:02:47.53\00:02:50.87 What about the fatty fish for the omega-3 fatty acid 00:02:50.90\00:02:54.07 for heart disease? 00:02:54.10\00:02:55.70 Is the Mediterranean diet the best diet? 00:02:55.74\00:02:57.97 And so you drink milk for strong bones. 00:02:58.01\00:03:01.01 And should we eat mostly all raw 00:03:01.04\00:03:04.35 since cooking destroys the nutrients and foods? 00:03:04.38\00:03:07.35 And should I eat according to my blood type, 00:03:07.38\00:03:09.38 and the paleo diet, the keto diet, 00:03:09.42\00:03:12.19 Flo-Jo diet, that's coming next, whatever. 00:03:12.22\00:03:14.89 There's one, really, there's one program on the web 00:03:14.92\00:03:19.16 called Integrative Nutrition. 00:03:19.19\00:03:21.40 It purported to be the largest web-based course on nutrition, 00:03:21.43\00:03:26.00 and they cover over 80 diets, over 80. 00:03:26.03\00:03:30.61 Yeah. 00:03:30.64\00:03:31.97 So therefore, with this in mind, 00:03:32.01\00:03:34.24 there are so many things out there for us to diet, 00:03:34.28\00:03:36.08 so what's good, what's not. 00:03:36.11\00:03:38.05 So we really have to go to God's Word 00:03:38.08\00:03:39.78 to determine what's the best diet out there. 00:03:39.81\00:03:43.08 Well, you know, once again, when we talk about the program, 00:03:43.12\00:03:45.35 we said, make sure you have your Bibles with you 00:03:45.39\00:03:47.52 because we are going to go to the Bible 00:03:47.56\00:03:49.32 and see what the Creator, 00:03:49.36\00:03:50.83 I call Him the Master of Public Health. 00:03:50.86\00:03:52.89 MPH. Master of Public Health. 00:03:52.93\00:03:54.66 I like that, baby, the Master of Public Health. 00:03:54.70\00:03:56.03 He knows exactly what we're supposed to be eating, 00:03:56.06\00:03:57.73 and He actually wrote in the Bible 00:03:57.77\00:03:59.53 telling us exactly that. 00:03:59.57\00:04:01.47 Yes, He did. So, let's go to the word. 00:04:01.50\00:04:03.71 Okay, the word, okay, let's go to Word of God 00:04:03.74\00:04:05.64 and if you have your Bibles. 00:04:05.67\00:04:07.48 And again, every time we go through the HEALERS, 00:04:07.51\00:04:11.05 the acronym, 00:04:11.08\00:04:12.58 we're going to be opening it up with God's Word. 00:04:12.61\00:04:14.95 And let that be our foundation for our teaching for this, 00:04:14.98\00:04:18.42 today's, program as well. 00:04:18.45\00:04:20.12 Genesis 1, you know, with creation now. 00:04:20.16\00:04:23.93 And I'm gonna look at verse 11. 00:04:23.96\00:04:26.03 It says here, and God said, 00:04:26.06\00:04:27.90 "Let the earth bring forth grass, 00:04:27.93\00:04:30.73 and the herb yielding seed and the fruit tree, 00:04:30.77\00:04:34.40 fruit tree, yielding fruit after his kind, 00:04:34.44\00:04:38.44 whose seed is in itself, 00:04:38.47\00:04:40.81 upon the earth, and it was so." 00:04:40.84\00:04:44.68 So look at God's Word. 00:04:44.71\00:04:46.72 During the Creation Week, 00:04:46.75\00:04:48.58 the first food group 00:04:48.62\00:04:52.05 mentioned in the Bible is not legumes, 00:04:52.09\00:04:57.43 is not whole grains, 00:04:57.46\00:04:59.66 is not vegetables, 00:04:59.69\00:05:01.66 is not nuts and seeds. 00:05:01.70\00:05:03.26 The first food group is fruit. 00:05:03.30\00:05:09.50 Now that had to... You know, now, okay. 00:05:09.54\00:05:13.11 I mean, there's a lot of new diets 00:05:13.14\00:05:15.41 and stuff in the market 00:05:15.44\00:05:16.78 where that's automatically eliminated. 00:05:16.81\00:05:19.05 Now that's a good point, honey, because so any diet, 00:05:19.08\00:05:23.12 any diet that will simply eliminate this food group, 00:05:23.15\00:05:28.69 the first one God mentions 00:05:28.72\00:05:31.09 is the automatic red flag 00:05:31.13\00:05:34.80 because this was aforementioned. 00:05:34.83\00:05:36.20 And you look at, I think, it's Revelation 21 or 22, 00:05:36.23\00:05:41.17 first verse, it talks about 00:05:41.20\00:05:44.07 the tree that bears 12 manner of fruit, 00:05:44.11\00:05:48.24 different one every month, all right? 00:05:48.28\00:05:49.98 And so therefore, God's Word is clear for us 00:05:50.01\00:05:52.68 fruit in the beginning, fruit in heaven. 00:05:52.71\00:05:56.38 Isaiah 65 talks about 00:05:56.42\00:05:59.19 we will build houses and plant vineyards 00:05:59.22\00:06:02.92 that means grape. 00:06:02.96\00:06:04.36 So fruit is from the beginning, in the middle, also in heaven, 00:06:04.39\00:06:08.96 in the New Jerusalem. 00:06:09.00\00:06:10.43 Fruit, now not to negate the other food groups, 00:06:10.47\00:06:13.30 but this one is really topping all the other food categories. 00:06:13.34\00:06:17.87 If we had to pick one, it would be fruit 00:06:17.91\00:06:19.67 because this is the first one. 00:06:19.71\00:06:21.04 You always say from beginning to end. 00:06:21.08\00:06:23.35 People say to me all the time, you know, God, you know, 00:06:23.38\00:06:25.21 "I'm gonna eat what I want to eat. 00:06:25.25\00:06:26.58 You know, I really enjoy, 00:06:26.61\00:06:28.92 God does not know what he's talking about." 00:06:28.95\00:06:30.29 Yeah, He doesn't. 00:06:30.32\00:06:31.65 Even though in the very first chapter 00:06:31.69\00:06:33.92 of the book, Genesis, 00:06:33.96\00:06:36.09 God, after He created everything, 00:06:36.12\00:06:38.83 put everything in place, the sun, the moon, the stars, 00:06:38.86\00:06:40.66 and He separated everything out. 00:06:40.70\00:06:42.20 Got the animals together, got the food together, 00:06:42.23\00:06:44.20 and then he breathed into man the breath of life, 00:06:44.23\00:06:48.14 and he became a living soul. 00:06:48.17\00:06:49.67 Okay. 00:06:49.70\00:06:51.04 So everything was in place 00:06:51.07\00:06:52.57 when we showed up, everything we need. 00:06:52.61\00:06:53.94 Absolutely. 00:06:53.98\00:06:55.31 And so I like the idea that here we find fruit 00:06:55.34\00:06:57.05 in the very first chapter. 00:06:57.08\00:06:58.41 It is. 00:06:58.45\00:06:59.78 Talking about the fact that how important fruits are. 00:06:59.81\00:07:02.08 Yes, absolutely. They are. 00:07:02.12\00:07:03.75 So it's very important for us. That's a concern. 00:07:03.79\00:07:06.09 So we also have a statement too, 00:07:06.12\00:07:10.23 the Bible mentions, 00:07:10.26\00:07:11.96 I guess you talked about 00:07:11.99\00:07:13.33 a particular type of fruits, though. 00:07:13.36\00:07:14.70 Yeah, but that's in the New Kingdom. 00:07:14.73\00:07:16.77 It says 12-manner of fruit in Revelation. 00:07:16.80\00:07:19.83 Isaiah 65 talks about the vineyards, 00:07:19.87\00:07:22.14 so we know that's a grape, 00:07:22.17\00:07:23.51 but going back to the Garden of Eden, 00:07:23.54\00:07:26.27 now it just says fruit. 00:07:26.31\00:07:28.31 It doesn't tell us what type of fruit, 00:07:28.34\00:07:31.78 just a fruit tree in the Garden of Eden. 00:07:31.81\00:07:33.52 Okay. 00:07:33.55\00:07:34.88 Now if you go just with God's Word, 00:07:34.92\00:07:39.25 there's a hint as to 00:07:39.29\00:07:41.29 one of the fruits in the Garden of Eden. 00:07:41.32\00:07:44.53 It's quite obvious. 00:07:44.56\00:07:46.43 A lot of people overlook it. Okay. 00:07:46.46\00:07:47.96 It's quite obvious. 00:07:48.00\00:07:49.33 So I'm gonna go with, 00:07:49.36\00:07:51.43 let's go with Genesis 3:7. 00:07:51.47\00:07:56.84 Genesis 3:7. 00:07:56.87\00:07:59.61 So this is... 00:07:59.64\00:08:01.24 We can really assume that 00:08:01.28\00:08:02.64 this fruit was included in the Garden of Eden. 00:08:02.68\00:08:05.28 This is after sin. 00:08:05.31\00:08:07.38 "And the eyes of them both were open, 00:08:07.42\00:08:10.35 and they knew that they were naked, 00:08:10.39\00:08:13.02 and they sewed..." 00:08:13.05\00:08:14.66 Oh, wait a minute. 00:08:14.69\00:08:16.59 "Fig leaves together, 00:08:16.62\00:08:19.53 and make themselves aprons." 00:08:19.56\00:08:22.23 Okay, now wait a minute. 00:08:22.26\00:08:23.60 Okay. So if they sew fig leaves... 00:08:23.63\00:08:27.20 Yes. 00:08:27.24\00:08:28.60 There may have been a fig tree. 00:08:28.64\00:08:30.94 Well, there had to be if there were some fig leaves. 00:08:30.97\00:08:32.91 Right, so therefore figs, more than likely, 00:08:32.94\00:08:35.54 had to be part of the fruit that they ate. 00:08:35.58\00:08:41.35 No figs, no fig leaves. 00:08:41.38\00:08:44.95 I'm just thinking out loud here. 00:08:44.99\00:08:46.32 Yeah, yeah, yeah. 00:08:46.35\00:08:47.69 You know, I mean, sometimes, we know that 00:08:47.72\00:08:49.06 but we kind of bypass, 00:08:49.09\00:08:50.43 "Oh, wait a minute, that's right, fig leaves." 00:08:50.46\00:08:52.09 And figs are really powerful for us, 00:08:52.13\00:08:55.90 antimicrobial, even placing figs on the wound, 00:08:55.93\00:09:00.24 in Isaiah there and on the boil as a poultice. 00:09:00.27\00:09:04.57 And so figs can be very powerful. 00:09:04.61\00:09:06.71 So we know they had at least figs 00:09:06.74\00:09:09.31 and we can assume other things too. 00:09:09.34\00:09:11.38 But at least I guess there's something about 00:09:11.41\00:09:13.52 the fruit that they had in the Garden of Eden. 00:09:13.55\00:09:15.78 So fruit seem to be king of all food groups, 00:09:15.82\00:09:20.32 but not to negate the other food groups 00:09:20.36\00:09:22.89 that's missing throughout the scripture as well. 00:09:22.92\00:09:24.73 Yeah, because he goes on to speak a little bit more 00:09:24.76\00:09:26.13 about the other ones too. 00:09:26.16\00:09:28.00 In Genesis 1:29, and then Genesis 3:18. 00:09:28.03\00:09:31.73 Oh, you want to read it? 00:09:31.77\00:09:33.40 Oh. 00:09:33.44\00:09:34.77 Yeah, okay, yeah, because He made the fruit tree. 00:09:34.80\00:09:38.77 Yeah, what did He tell man to do? 00:09:38.81\00:09:40.81 And he is speaking now again. 00:09:40.84\00:09:42.18 'Cause you always say, "If it wasn't important, 00:09:42.21\00:09:44.71 God will not put it in the first book of the Bible, 00:09:44.75\00:09:46.72 the first chapter of the Bible." 00:09:46.75\00:09:48.25 Genesis 1:29 says, 00:09:48.28\00:09:52.39 And God said, "Behold, 00:09:52.42\00:09:53.86 I have given you every herb bearing seed, 00:09:53.89\00:09:57.53 which is upon the face of the earth, 00:09:57.56\00:09:59.63 and every tree 00:09:59.66\00:10:01.00 in which is the fruit of the tree yielding seed. 00:10:01.03\00:10:04.30 To you, it shall be for meat." Okay. 00:10:04.33\00:10:07.94 Alright, so now we got the seed. 00:10:07.97\00:10:09.57 Right. Okay. 00:10:09.60\00:10:10.94 We got the fruit, we got the tree yielding, 00:10:10.97\00:10:12.81 and I said the other one is really funny 00:10:12.84\00:10:14.18 'cause had to study a little botany 00:10:14.21\00:10:15.54 to get into that one. 00:10:15.58\00:10:16.91 We get a lot of stuff on that one also about people saying, 00:10:16.95\00:10:18.85 "A bell pepper is a vegetable, right?" 00:10:18.88\00:10:20.98 It said seed yielding. 00:10:21.02\00:10:23.12 So that means tomato, cucumber. Oh, so a lot of them. 00:10:23.15\00:10:25.79 Yeah, sometimes we have a good journal, 00:10:25.82\00:10:27.19 is sometimes referred as fruit vegetable. 00:10:27.22\00:10:29.62 There you go, fruit vegetable combination. 00:10:29.66\00:10:30.99 Yeah, we know it, yeah. 00:10:31.03\00:10:32.36 And then he goes a little bit further, Curtis, 00:10:32.39\00:10:33.73 and he says in Genesis 3:18. 00:10:33.76\00:10:35.10 Is it after sin now? After sin. 00:10:35.13\00:10:36.46 It goes in 3:18 and He says, 00:10:36.50\00:10:38.67 "Thorns and thistles shall you bring forth 00:10:38.70\00:10:41.97 and thou show eat the herbs of the field." 00:10:42.00\00:10:45.01 Okay, now, also the plant of the ground, all right? 00:10:45.04\00:10:48.48 Comes in the vegetables. The vegetables... 00:10:48.51\00:10:49.84 The vegetables and... 00:10:49.88\00:10:51.21 And full grains and legumes. That's right. 00:10:51.25\00:10:52.58 They're coming in as well. Okay. 00:10:52.61\00:10:53.95 Yeah, so, I mean, it was really important. 00:10:53.98\00:10:55.42 We always say it's important because God said it. 00:10:55.45\00:10:59.12 Okay, God said it. 00:10:59.15\00:11:00.49 I think we have a statement 00:11:00.52\00:11:01.86 from our second tier of credibility. 00:11:01.89\00:11:04.79 Our Christian author, Ellen White, 00:11:04.83\00:11:06.46 she talks about also the diet as well. 00:11:06.49\00:11:09.36 So let's go to the screen at this time 00:11:09.40\00:11:11.00 and see what she said about the diet for mankind. 00:11:11.03\00:11:13.74 Okay. Here it is. 00:11:13.77\00:11:16.17 "The grains, fruits, 00:11:16.20\00:11:18.84 and vegetables have all of the nutritive properties 00:11:18.87\00:11:23.88 necessary to make good blood. 00:11:23.91\00:11:26.28 A flesh diet cannot do." 00:11:26.31\00:11:29.75 Counsels on Diet and Foods, page 322. 00:11:29.78\00:11:34.52 Now we're gonna haste in here 'cause time is a factor here. 00:11:34.56\00:11:37.23 And we talked about God's Word. 00:11:37.26\00:11:39.06 Honey, now let's just highlight one area of food 00:11:39.09\00:11:43.47 and it's the carbohydrates. 00:11:43.50\00:11:45.60 So we're gonna talk about this a little bit 00:11:45.63\00:11:47.27 because there's a lot of confusion for some people. 00:11:47.30\00:11:49.90 Not for all of us, for some people 00:11:49.94\00:11:51.27 about the carbohydrates. 00:11:51.31\00:11:52.94 I shouldn't eat any carbs. Carbs are just bad. 00:11:52.97\00:11:55.21 So let's walk them through this. 00:11:55.24\00:11:58.05 And now this is in our workbook here 00:11:58.08\00:12:00.32 but there's more information in the webinar. 00:12:00.35\00:12:02.65 This will give you a tease right now. 00:12:02.68\00:12:04.39 Just walk us through the different types of carbs 00:12:04.42\00:12:06.86 and see what we can do about to straighten this out. 00:12:06.89\00:12:09.49 Well, I think and also to kind of set it up 00:12:09.52\00:12:11.46 and that is the fact that 00:12:11.49\00:12:12.83 many times people come to us are clients 00:12:12.86\00:12:14.60 and they're talking about, "I don't do fruit. 00:12:14.63\00:12:17.00 I don't do starchy foods, 00:12:17.03\00:12:18.87 I don't do potatoes, I don't do rice. 00:12:18.90\00:12:20.74 I don't do bread. I'm off all of that." Okay? 00:12:20.77\00:12:23.27 But when we study about the carbohydrates, 00:12:23.30\00:12:25.44 we discover that the carbohydrates 00:12:25.47\00:12:27.38 are actually the foods 00:12:27.41\00:12:28.74 that keep giving us the energy we need 00:12:28.78\00:12:31.11 to move and have our being. 00:12:31.15\00:12:32.91 Okay. So carbs can't be eliminated. 00:12:32.95\00:12:34.88 So then we actually talk about... 00:12:34.92\00:12:36.52 Let's talk about the carbs 00:12:36.55\00:12:37.89 'cause there's three types of carbohydrates. 00:12:37.92\00:12:40.12 Three, all right? Three, okay. 00:12:40.16\00:12:41.49 The very first one is the simple one. 00:12:41.52\00:12:44.03 Now know when I said simple, 00:12:44.06\00:12:45.39 right away, you started thinking about 00:12:45.43\00:12:46.76 potato chips and cookies and candy. 00:12:46.80\00:12:48.13 No, that is not considered simple. 00:12:48.16\00:12:49.83 The simple carbohydrates are the fruits, 00:12:49.86\00:12:52.57 which God talked about already in the Bible, 00:12:52.60\00:12:54.97 and non-starchy vegetables. 00:12:55.00\00:12:56.64 Oh, see, people don't know about that part, 00:12:56.67\00:12:58.37 just know about the fruit but not the non-starchy, 00:12:58.41\00:13:01.44 that's in the simple category. 00:13:01.48\00:13:03.65 And the reason it's called non-starchy is because 00:13:03.68\00:13:05.45 when you cook those foods, 00:13:05.48\00:13:06.82 they does not give off a thick residue 00:13:06.85\00:13:08.72 like you would if you did your beans 00:13:08.75\00:13:10.85 or something that has a flour or potatoes, 00:13:10.89\00:13:13.05 they give off a starch, all right? 00:13:13.09\00:13:14.72 So now we're talking about things like green beans, 00:13:14.76\00:13:16.96 okay, peas, 00:13:16.99\00:13:18.33 they don't have a starch that comes off of them. 00:13:18.36\00:13:20.23 Okay. They're called the non-starchy. 00:13:20.26\00:13:21.93 Carrots, non-starchy, that's the first one, simple. 00:13:21.96\00:13:25.40 Second one is so important and key also to our body 00:13:25.43\00:13:28.54 is the complex group. 00:13:28.57\00:13:30.14 Complexity, that means that 00:13:30.17\00:13:32.01 if you were to take any of these foods 00:13:32.04\00:13:33.71 and put them under a microscope, 00:13:33.74\00:13:35.51 you would see a lot of webbing 00:13:35.54\00:13:37.25 and exchange is going on there, okay? 00:13:37.28\00:13:39.45 Which means it takes this food, 00:13:39.48\00:13:40.82 then a longer time to get through the body system. 00:13:40.85\00:13:42.88 And these foods will actually include things like 00:13:42.92\00:13:44.79 your whole wheat bread, whole grain, whole grain rice, 00:13:44.82\00:13:48.06 you know, sweet potatoes, okay. 00:13:48.09\00:13:50.33 Legumes, peas. 00:13:50.36\00:13:51.73 Legumes, they're all a part of that complex 00:13:51.76\00:13:54.90 because they stay in a system a longer period of time, okay? 00:13:54.93\00:13:58.70 And so the last one, that's very, very important 00:13:58.73\00:14:01.27 and very, very key to us. 00:14:01.30\00:14:02.67 Well, when I say key, 00:14:02.70\00:14:05.01 let me just straighten that one out. 00:14:05.04\00:14:06.37 Yeah. 00:14:06.41\00:14:07.74 When I say important to us, 00:14:07.78\00:14:09.11 I'm talking about the ones that people just like, 00:14:09.14\00:14:11.51 "I ain't getting off of that, Paula," but anyway. 00:14:11.55\00:14:13.28 Important for us to know but not to eat. 00:14:13.31\00:14:16.05 The refined group, 00:14:16.08\00:14:17.45 refined or processed, or process. 00:14:17.49\00:14:20.46 Now we talk about refined or process. 00:14:20.49\00:14:22.52 We talk about the fact that these are your... 00:14:22.56\00:14:26.29 I'm getting mixed up. 00:14:26.33\00:14:27.66 We were talking now about potato chips 00:14:27.70\00:14:29.33 and cakes and pies and cookies and candy. 00:14:29.36\00:14:33.17 Refined, they say, 00:14:33.20\00:14:34.87 "If it's made from a plant, it's good for you." 00:14:34.90\00:14:39.01 But if it was made in a plant, 00:14:39.04\00:14:40.98 you might want to rethink that one. 00:14:41.01\00:14:42.48 Okay, so let's recap that. All right. 00:14:42.51\00:14:44.61 So, again, number one, 00:14:44.65\00:14:47.15 you got the simple carbohydrates. 00:14:47.18\00:14:50.55 Fruit, non-starchy vegetable. That's right. 00:14:50.59\00:14:54.82 That's one. Yes. 00:14:54.86\00:14:56.19 Second, complex carbohydrates, 00:14:56.22\00:14:59.96 whole grains, legumes, peas, etcetera, all right. 00:15:00.00\00:15:03.63 Then you got the third group, the detrimental kind, 00:15:03.67\00:15:06.60 refined carbohydrates, 00:15:06.63\00:15:09.90 white bread, white rice, 00:15:09.94\00:15:12.97 potato chips, cookies, cakes, 00:15:13.01\00:15:14.61 you know, all that, that's refined carbohydrates. 00:15:14.64\00:15:17.45 A lot of people, 00:15:17.48\00:15:18.81 they put carbohydrates in one boat. 00:15:18.85\00:15:21.95 I'm not eating any carbs at all without making a distinction 00:15:21.98\00:15:26.09 between the three different types. 00:15:26.12\00:15:28.29 You know, I know in our program... 00:15:28.32\00:15:29.66 So we have a conference called Defeating Diabetes, 00:15:29.69\00:15:33.46 and you do that part 00:15:33.50\00:15:34.83 where we have a lot of carbohydrates, 00:15:34.86\00:15:37.87 a lot of foods on the screen, 00:15:37.90\00:15:40.10 about 10 of them, 00:15:40.14\00:15:41.47 and you ask the audience, 00:15:41.50\00:15:42.84 "Okay, how many of these 10 foods 00:15:42.87\00:15:44.41 are carbohydrates?" 00:15:44.44\00:15:46.24 Some people will say, "Oh, six or maybe eight." 00:15:46.27\00:15:49.58 All those foods are carbohydrates. 00:15:49.61\00:15:51.01 I know. 00:15:51.05\00:15:52.38 Cut my oat, the greens and all that 00:15:52.41\00:15:54.05 and carrots and things like that, 00:15:54.08\00:15:55.78 and people may not be aware 00:15:55.82\00:15:57.95 that these are carbohydrates. 00:15:57.99\00:15:59.32 They're absolutely surprised when they see that. 00:15:59.35\00:16:00.89 Number one, they are thinking, 00:16:00.92\00:16:02.76 "Well, I don't think spinach is one. 00:16:02.79\00:16:04.13 Oh, I don't think nuts and..." 00:16:04.16\00:16:05.49 But we do that just to get them going, 00:16:05.53\00:16:07.20 get them start to understand. 00:16:07.23\00:16:08.56 By the time you're done, they understand the simple, 00:16:08.60\00:16:12.23 complex, and the refined, all right? 00:16:12.27\00:16:14.04 Yes, okay. 00:16:14.07\00:16:15.40 Now I think the time to go to kitchen, but again, 00:16:15.44\00:16:17.41 those who want to get more information about this, 00:16:17.44\00:16:20.18 just email us for the webinar at info@AbundantLivingtv.org 00:16:20.21\00:16:26.61 and we'll be doing a webinar that goes more into 00:16:26.65\00:16:29.25 this E for Eating in the near future. 00:16:29.28\00:16:31.59 What about my garden? 00:16:31.62\00:16:32.95 Well, I know the time is of the essence, 00:16:32.99\00:16:34.89 maybe we will put up there. 00:16:34.92\00:16:36.26 Okay, well, I was looking at the time. 00:16:36.29\00:16:37.63 I'll tell you what. 00:16:37.66\00:16:38.99 Let's show the picture of the garden 00:16:39.03\00:16:40.36 and then we'll go in the kitchen. 00:16:40.40\00:16:41.73 I'll talk about it out there. Okay. 00:16:41.76\00:16:43.10 All right, let's go to the screen. 00:16:43.13\00:16:44.47 And this is a project that my wife has. 00:16:44.50\00:16:45.83 So let's go to the screen and look at... 00:16:45.87\00:16:47.20 I said my wife's garden, 00:16:47.24\00:16:48.57 but it's also our garden as well. 00:16:48.60\00:16:49.94 Let's go to the screen at this time. 00:16:49.97\00:16:51.31 You owns the garden.
