When we were younger our arteries 00:00:01.98\00:00:03.35 were smooth, they were clean, 00:00:03.38\00:00:04.85 unobstructive of blood flow. 00:00:05.45\00:00:06.86 But as we get older with diet and lifestyle 00:00:07.33\00:00:09.90 they become obstructive with 00:00:10.04\00:00:11.42 something that we're going to talk about 00:00:11.45\00:00:12.82 today entitled Plaque Attack. 00:00:12.85\00:00:15.28 We will be right back. 00:00:15.56\00:00:16.93 Hi, welcome to Abundant Living. 00:00:43.23\00:00:44.74 This is Curtis Eakins, your co-host and my 00:00:44.77\00:00:47.31 lovely bride of 16 glorious wonderful 00:00:47.34\00:00:50.07 years, Paula Eakins. I don't know what's 00:00:50.10\00:00:52.58 the reason for the laughter at this time, 00:00:52.61\00:00:54.25 why are you laughing? Nothing. 00:00:55.08\00:00:56.45 Nothing? I was just funny as a co-host. 00:00:56.76\00:00:59.34 Hi. Okay, hi and your name would be? 00:00:59.64\00:01:02.53 You said Paula Eakins. Did I? 00:01:02.56\00:01:04.04 Yes, you did. Okay, just 00:01:04.07\00:01:05.44 wanted to hear you say it too. 00:01:05.47\00:01:06.84 You are doing mighty good today. 00:01:06.87\00:01:08.24 Absolutely. Your hair looks nice. 00:01:08.30\00:01:09.67 Thank You. Thank You. 00:01:10.16\00:01:11.53 Plaque Attack. We have been attacked by Plaque. 00:01:11.88\00:01:17.22 You know what it just amazes me. 00:01:18.31\00:01:20.38 You know people ask me all the time and say 00:01:20.41\00:01:21.98 why do you guys come up with these programs 00:01:22.32\00:01:23.99 you know these titles and I say, 00:01:24.02\00:01:25.39 I have nothing to do with these titles. 00:01:25.42\00:01:26.82 Curtis picks every single title because 00:01:27.25\00:01:29.23 every time I pick a title it's 00:01:29.26\00:01:30.63 way too long, it's like a sentence. 00:01:30.66\00:01:32.12 Well almost like a paragraph, but lengthy 00:01:32.15\00:01:34.45 sentence, okay just like that. 00:01:34.48\00:01:35.85 That's better, yes, but you always pick some 00:01:36.98\00:01:39.58 unique, saying so Plaque Attack 00:01:40.74\00:01:42.48 really kind of cute. You know and again, 00:01:42.51\00:01:45.99 this is part of a series, a clean heart series and 00:01:46.02\00:01:51.65 this is the third part of the clean heart series 00:01:51.68\00:01:53.58 entitled Plaque Attack and so we covered 00:01:53.61\00:01:56.49 the pressures on, blood pressure, 00:01:56.97\00:01:58.44 controlling cholesterol, now it's Plaque Attack 00:01:59.18\00:02:01.52 and next time when we meet, it would be 00:02:01.55\00:02:03.90 different strokes for different folks. 00:02:04.38\00:02:05.98 Well, alright. Plaque Attack and we 00:02:06.01\00:02:08.39 have been attacked by plaque. 00:02:08.42\00:02:09.85 Attack by plaque! Well I guess the question 00:02:10.22\00:02:11.93 is exactly, what is plaque? 00:02:11.96\00:02:13.38 Well plaque is debris or particles that adheres 00:02:14.11\00:02:17.67 to the artery wall. We have a picture of 00:02:17.70\00:02:20.03 plaque, so let's go to the screen at this time. 00:02:20.06\00:02:22.03 You see here of course now on the left side you 00:02:22.97\00:02:24.97 have an artery that's clean, free flowing of 00:02:25.00\00:02:28.57 blood and that's the way an artery should look. 00:02:28.60\00:02:30.93 Now of course on the right side is the build up 00:02:31.24\00:02:33.65 of that debris I was talking about, 00:02:33.68\00:02:35.28 which we call plaque. And so therefore with 00:02:35.60\00:02:38.30 that in mind, of course it narrows the artery wall, 00:02:38.33\00:02:40.85 and of course that can raises our blood pressure. 00:02:41.27\00:02:43.19 That wall right there is very elastic, 00:02:43.91\00:02:46.47 but when the plaque is there it becomes 00:02:46.63\00:02:48.54 very stiff and rigid. So it's not elastic anymore. 00:02:48.57\00:02:51.83 So therefore blood pressure goes up 00:02:51.86\00:02:53.98 and with that we have a very serious problem 00:02:54.55\00:02:57.25 before us, blood flow being impeded throughout 00:02:57.28\00:03:01.51 the whole system as well. So, a lot of foods can do 00:03:01.54\00:03:04.30 that and some foods in particular can create 00:03:04.33\00:03:09.36 more plaque on the artery wall. 00:03:09.39\00:03:10.95 Now, you have a little demo here on visual. 00:03:10.98\00:03:13.19 I just happen to have. 00:03:13.22\00:03:14.59 You just happen to have something. 00:03:14.62\00:03:15.99 I happen to have, because you know 00:03:16.02\00:03:17.39 when we do our classes in our community, 00:03:17.42\00:03:18.79 yes, people always ask me question, 00:03:18.82\00:03:20.27 how much fat is actually in certain foods, 00:03:20.30\00:03:23.07 okay, and how much plaque attack. 00:03:23.10\00:03:24.47 Now, do we need to hold on to our seat 00:03:24.50\00:03:25.87 for this one baby. Yeah, yeah we do. 00:03:25.90\00:03:27.27 Okay. This one is actually one taco. 00:03:27.30\00:03:31.10 Just, one taco. One taco, 00:03:31.76\00:03:33.56 one taco nine grams of fat. 00:03:33.59\00:03:36.05 Nine grams of fat in one taco, now keep in mind 00:03:36.08\00:03:39.03 folks, our arteries is the size of a spaghetti, yes. 00:03:39.06\00:03:43.49 So, that one taco, you know keep that in mind, 00:03:43.52\00:03:45.97 it can really clog up those coronary arteries. 00:03:46.00\00:03:48.79 Right, right, right. Well, let's do another one. 00:03:48.82\00:03:50.75 Now, this is a sausage and biscuit; 00:03:51.27\00:03:52.80 I have friends that say I love to get a 00:03:52.83\00:03:54.37 sausage and biscuit. Sausage and biscuit. 00:03:54.40\00:03:56.70 Early in the morning, 29 grams. 00:03:56.73\00:03:59.50 29 grams of fat. Now, lets make sure 00:03:59.53\00:04:02.15 we get those numbers correct now in 00:04:02.18\00:04:03.68 prospective, I mean three to four grams of 00:04:03.71\00:04:06.05 fat is really amount that is sufficient, 00:04:06.08\00:04:09.59 I mean we don't want to go over three or four or 00:04:09.62\00:04:11.24 five and you're talking about how much. 00:04:11.27\00:04:12.94 29, 29, this is a sausage and biscuit, 00:04:13.27\00:04:15.70 sausage and biscuit combination. 00:04:15.73\00:04:17.10 Yes, alright, yes 29. Okay, that's amazing. 00:04:17.13\00:04:18.83 Okay, now, this is the one 00:04:18.86\00:04:20.23 I think is going to really hurt 00:04:20.26\00:04:21.63 Okay hold on to, you see for this one folks. 00:04:21.66\00:04:23.03 Yeah, you know hold on, hold on. 00:04:23.06\00:04:24.43 Now this one we're doing that. 00:04:24.46\00:04:25.83 Now, well you got three all together in that. 00:04:25.86\00:04:27.23 Three together. Okay. This one here 00:04:27.26\00:04:28.63 is actually a burger. A burger. 00:04:28.66\00:04:30.03 This is a nice large burger. 00:04:30.06\00:04:31.43 Now, it's one of those famous burger that most 00:04:31.46\00:04:32.83 people heard of it, we're not going 00:04:32.86\00:04:34.23 to mention the name. No, no. 00:04:34.26\00:04:35.63 Was a famous restaurant. How about, how about, 00:04:35.66\00:04:37.03 how about 40 grams. 40 grams, let's hold 00:04:37.06\00:04:40.52 that, make sure they see that, 40 grams, 00:04:40.55\00:04:42.24 hold it still baby. 40 grams. 00:04:42.27\00:04:43.64 And turn it, yeah so you can see all three of them. 00:04:43.67\00:04:45.51 Yes, on the screen, all three 40 grams. 00:04:45.65\00:04:47.39 40 grams of fat for just that one famous 00:04:47.51\00:04:51.95 fast food burger with cheese, I think, 00:04:52.39\00:04:55.36 now we're not even talking about the French fries. 00:04:55.39\00:04:57.01 Well, I think that thing that's so amazing here, 00:04:57.04\00:04:58.83 that is exactly right, we're not talking about 00:04:58.86\00:05:00.56 the French fries and we're not talking about 00:05:00.59\00:05:02.09 the shake that usually goes with that as well. 00:05:02.12\00:05:03.97 You know, a lot of people are just not 00:05:04.38\00:05:06.16 understanding when we're talking about 00:05:07.37\00:05:09.29 plaque buildup, how much plaque is actually, 00:05:09.32\00:05:11.91 I mean how much fat is in the lot of the foods 00:05:11.94\00:05:13.88 that we eat, hidden fats. Right. 00:05:13.91\00:05:15.72 You know that they're in the foods we actually 00:05:15.75\00:05:17.53 eat and they're causing problems for us as well. 00:05:17.56\00:05:19.86 Yes, okay, alright. Now, the saturated fat 00:05:19.89\00:05:22.70 in the foods can also create plaque 00:05:22.73\00:05:24.74 in artery wall as well. There are three foods 00:05:24.77\00:05:28.18 that I hate and show it as above all other foods 00:05:28.36\00:05:31.04 as the most artery clogging saturated fat. 00:05:31.07\00:05:34.82 Okay, food number three is whole milk. 00:05:35.09\00:05:37.15 Now, whole milk is going down about 210 00:05:37.41\00:05:39.27 percent since 1970 now people are buying one 00:05:39.30\00:05:42.37 percent, two percent there's also zero percent 00:05:42.40\00:05:45.21 milk, going to soy milk and almond milk. 00:05:45.24\00:05:48.15 Food number two, that's the most artery clogging 00:05:49.41\00:05:51.89 saturated fat ounce for ounce, pound for pound 00:05:51.92\00:05:54.67 is ground beef. And ground beef has 00:05:54.99\00:05:57.13 gone down about 30 percent since 1970 and 00:05:57.16\00:06:01.30 people will understand about that, and ground 00:06:01.33\00:06:03.12 beef is really going down and chicken is 00:06:03.15\00:06:04.90 going up, but of course we did a program on 00:06:04.93\00:06:07.36 problems with pork and yes, so we're not, yes, 00:06:07.90\00:06:09.27 yes, going to deal that. But now food number one. 00:06:09.30\00:06:11.53 Ounce for ounce, pound for pound, 00:06:12.82\00:06:16.09 that's the most artery clogging 00:06:16.44\00:06:18.62 saturated fat is, cheese. 00:06:19.46\00:06:24.47 Mercy. I just heard some. 00:06:24.50\00:06:26.22 Yes you did. Yes, yes I did. 00:06:26.25\00:06:27.91 Yeah I did, you did, you did. 00:06:27.94\00:06:29.31 Yeah may be. To boot, cheese has 00:06:29.34\00:06:32.12 about two to three hundred milligrams of 00:06:32.15\00:06:33.78 sodium per ounce and we're talking about 00:06:33.81\00:06:37.73 a clean heart series, we're talking about 00:06:38.08\00:06:40.93 plaque attack and so therefore with that in 00:06:41.35\00:06:43.57 mind those three foods by themselves can 00:06:43.60\00:06:46.25 really reek havoc along the artery wall and can 00:06:46.28\00:06:49.19 build up that plaque in there as well. 00:06:49.22\00:06:50.99 So, those three foods now there is some 00:06:51.02\00:06:52.39 substitute for each one of those three foods, 00:06:52.42\00:06:54.30 let's quickly talk about that. 00:06:54.33\00:06:55.70 Well you know the thing is that because 00:06:55.73\00:06:57.40 of the fat there's so much information is out 00:06:57.43\00:06:58.85 there about heart disease and high blood 00:06:58.88\00:07:02.30 pressure then of course the manufacturers are 00:07:02.33\00:07:04.22 making a lot of more substitutes 00:07:04.25\00:07:05.84 how they look like. That's true. 00:07:05.87\00:07:07.24 Act like, smell like, taste like. 00:07:07.27\00:07:08.64 The original things for their substitutes for 00:07:08.89\00:07:11.08 cheeses, we have done those on our program. 00:07:11.11\00:07:12.84 That's why the soy cheeses. 00:07:12.87\00:07:14.24 Soy cheeses, rice cheeses, 00:07:14.27\00:07:17.00 almond cheeses all those are actually on the 00:07:17.03\00:07:18.40 market now, and some of those can melt too. 00:07:18.43\00:07:20.16 Some of those can melt. Some do not melt, 00:07:20.19\00:07:21.56 just have to. That's right, yes. 00:07:21.59\00:07:23.10 They'll actually have it on the label, 00:07:23.71\00:07:25.08 it will say on there, right, a melting cheese. 00:07:25.11\00:07:26.72 Yeah, okay. Then also as far as 00:07:26.75\00:07:29.13 you milk stuff is concerned, 00:07:29.16\00:07:30.53 there now of course your almond milk, 00:07:30.56\00:07:32.33 your rice milks, your soy milks, that's true, 00:07:32.36\00:07:35.17 a lot of combinations of those out there as well, 00:07:35.20\00:07:37.31 no cholesterol whatsoever. Zero cholesterol. 00:07:37.68\00:07:39.66 And then of course in the meat kingdom 00:07:40.32\00:07:42.38 we've done a lot on ABN and Abundant 00:07:42.65\00:07:44.27 Living show, and on our other shows we've 00:07:44.30\00:07:46.85 done on ABN, what we looked we showed other 00:07:46.88\00:07:49.12 substitutes for beef, for chicken or for fish. 00:07:49.15\00:07:53.03 So, they're all out there, they're all a part of it, 00:07:53.19\00:07:55.12 now I guess someone is asking a question about 00:07:55.55\00:07:57.49 that plaque buildup, so what kind of, 00:07:57.52\00:07:59.05 I mean what kind of test can you take that would 00:07:59.32\00:08:02.13 show that there is plaque buildup in this system. 00:08:02.16\00:08:05.96 Okay and this is very good question because 00:08:05.99\00:08:08.08 a lot of people who may be watching right now, 00:08:08.11\00:08:10.87 who have plaque already built up in their 00:08:11.82\00:08:14.11 artery wall and don't even know 00:08:14.14\00:08:15.51 because it's a silent disease. 00:08:15.54\00:08:19.05 Okay, okay. There are no symptoms 00:08:19.08\00:08:20.69 until a cardiovascular event happens such as 00:08:20.72\00:08:23.82 heart attack and stroke, therefore by that time in 00:08:23.85\00:08:26.80 most cases, a lot of cases it's too late, 00:08:26.83\00:08:29.19 it become very crippling, so there are some tests. 00:08:29.55\00:08:32.48 There is one in particular, that's the safest most 00:08:32.51\00:08:34.66 standard test to determine the plaque in 00:08:34.69\00:08:36.71 artery wall, the coronary arteries of the 00:08:36.74\00:08:38.95 heart, is the heart scan, CT heart scan and that's 00:08:38.98\00:08:43.78 done there, several facilities throughout the 00:08:43.81\00:08:46.57 country and there's like sound waves and they 00:08:46.60\00:08:49.59 can tell whether or not there is plaque in the 00:08:49.62\00:08:51.83 coronary arteries. There's one test done 00:08:51.86\00:08:54.37 and you've done this lifeline, a company 00:08:54.40\00:08:57.04 does testing as far as plaque in different areas 00:08:57.07\00:09:00.52 as well, let's talk about that too, honey. 00:09:00.55\00:09:02.09 Well, I know that, all those versions, 00:09:02.12\00:09:04.67 I know that he did one actually on my neck. 00:09:04.70\00:09:07.30 You did at carotid artery. 00:09:07.33\00:09:08.70 He did the other one in aorta area. 00:09:08.80\00:09:11.03 And then they did the leg. That's right. 00:09:11.15\00:09:12.80 And praise God, praise God, 00:09:12.83\00:09:14.55 everything came out really well. 00:09:14.58\00:09:15.95 They, that group comes around now and then in 00:09:16.80\00:09:19.06 almost any community, you can tell they're 00:09:19.09\00:09:21.04 coming in and the price to have it done is not 00:09:21.07\00:09:23.57 that expensive, yeah, very good, comparing 00:09:23.60\00:09:25.61 to going to the hospital having to do that. 00:09:25.64\00:09:27.01 Yeah, the American Heart Association has a 00:09:27.04\00:09:28.50 Physician's Statement as far as testing plaque, 00:09:28.53\00:09:31.61 and let's go to the statement at this time. 00:09:32.01\00:09:33.50 It says here, the American Heart Association's 00:09:34.20\00:09:36.13 Physician's Statement, the majority of 00:09:36.16\00:09:38.62 published studies have reported that coronary 00:09:38.65\00:09:41.87 calcium plaque predicts coronary disease events 00:09:41.90\00:09:45.64 beyond standard risk factors. 00:09:45.67\00:09:49.42 Let me explain what that means. 00:09:49.45\00:09:50.82 Standard risk factors is such as monitoring or 00:09:51.27\00:09:54.46 determining your cholesterol, okay, 00:09:54.49\00:09:56.32 your blood pressure, those are standard risk 00:09:56.77\00:09:58.61 factors, Doppler machine okay, 00:09:58.64\00:10:00.71 but determining the calcium in a plaque 00:10:01.28\00:10:04.96 because a lot of the plaque is made up of calcium. 00:10:04.99\00:10:08.23 So, when they determine the amount 00:10:08.68\00:10:10.05 of calcium, they also can determine the 00:10:10.08\00:10:12.31 amount of plaque in the artery wall, 00:10:12.34\00:10:14.00 that's why they say that test done with the heart 00:10:14.49\00:10:17.40 scan, CT heart scan, one of the best tests 00:10:17.43\00:10:19.72 available to determine the plaque in the 00:10:19.75\00:10:22.23 coronary arteries of the heart. 00:10:22.26\00:10:24.09 So, therefore that's one good test we can use, 00:10:24.51\00:10:26.64 that way nothing will sneak up on us 'cause 00:10:26.94\00:10:28.59 people maybe watching right now, 00:10:28.62\00:10:30.28 who may have plaque in artery wall may be 80 00:10:30.77\00:10:33.41 or 90 percent clogged and don't even know it. 00:10:33.44\00:10:35.94 We just met somebody last week who had 3 00:10:36.63\00:10:39.50 arteries clogged 95 percent and don't even 00:10:39.53\00:10:42.13 know it, just walking around. 00:10:42.16\00:10:43.53 So just one hamburger or French fries, 00:10:43.56\00:10:46.20 one meal can tilt the scale and a 00:10:46.23\00:10:49.12 cardiovascular event can happen at that time. 00:10:49.15\00:10:50.95 Well, this is also a part of that preventive 00:10:50.98\00:10:52.42 medicine as well. You know of having 00:10:52.45\00:10:54.22 that physical done and, seeing exactly where 00:10:54.25\00:10:56.46 you stand ahead of time, now you know 00:10:56.49\00:10:58.91 you talked about that coronary. Yes. 00:10:58.94\00:11:00.74 Heart problem, what about, is there 00:11:01.20\00:11:02.78 anywhere else where an individual can have 00:11:02.84\00:11:05.55 problem with plaque buildup? 00:11:05.58\00:11:07.27 Absolutely, in the legs particularly in the legs, 00:11:09.12\00:11:11.82 it can be anywhere but when we call this 00:11:12.05\00:11:14.41 peripheral arterial disease, 00:11:14.65\00:11:17.68 for short PAD, alright. 00:11:17.97\00:11:20.53 And we have a picture of that, see what PAD 00:11:20.87\00:11:23.56 looks like, of course on the left, this is the leg 00:11:23.59\00:11:26.83 now, there's a nice blood flow 00:11:26.86\00:11:28.99 unobstructive of any plaque at all but now on 00:11:29.30\00:11:32.88 the right side this again in the legs we have that 00:11:32.91\00:11:35.75 plaque build up in the artery there and so with 00:11:35.78\00:11:38.63 that in mind when a person walks the 00:11:38.66\00:11:41.73 symptoms are leg pain, pain in the thigh, 00:11:41.76\00:11:45.28 pain in the buttocks, because the blood flow 00:11:45.67\00:11:48.80 is simply impede because of the built up 00:11:48.83\00:11:50.93 plaque in the legs, so it's very excruciating 00:11:51.13\00:11:53.97 and about one third of people will have this 00:11:54.53\00:11:57.08 type of pain, sometimes people don't have it, 00:11:57.11\00:12:00.67 but again if you have pain in the legs by 00:12:00.84\00:12:03.96 walking and sometimes it stops when you stop 00:12:03.99\00:12:06.21 walking the pain subsides, 00:12:06.24\00:12:07.83 normally you have plaque also in your 00:12:08.16\00:12:09.72 coronary arteries as well. So it kind of goes 00:12:09.75\00:12:12.30 hand in hand. So but again it can 00:12:12.33\00:12:14.99 be anywhere in the body but normally in 00:12:15.02\00:12:16.57 the legs as well and we have some in our work 00:12:16.60\00:12:18.75 book, some botanical medicine that people 00:12:18.78\00:12:21.36 can use to reduce that leg pain when they're 00:12:21.39\00:12:25.09 trying to walk. Okay, go over those 00:12:25.12\00:12:28.39 symptoms again, you said, that you said, yeah, 00:12:28.42\00:12:30.64 pain in the legs, pain in the thigh, 00:12:30.67\00:12:33.06 in the buttocks, sometimes in the feet 00:12:33.90\00:12:36.14 and in the toes, remember now there is 00:12:36.31\00:12:38.62 a lack of blood flow going through legs as well. 00:12:38.65\00:12:40.73 So, therefore with that in mind blood flow is 00:12:41.02\00:12:42.71 not going to reach down to the toes as well so 00:12:42.74\00:12:44.99 therefore and a person is a diabetic, 00:12:45.02\00:12:46.97 it just makes it objectionably very 00:12:47.31\00:12:50.50 difficult for blood flow because you have also 00:12:50.53\00:12:53.40 the high blood sugar which also causes 00:12:53.43\00:12:55.65 neuropathy, dating of the nerves, alright, 00:12:56.38\00:13:00.01 so these are some, now sometimes a lot of 00:13:00.04\00:13:03.38 people may not have this symptom that's why 00:13:03.41\00:13:06.05 its good to have this checked as well and this 00:13:06.52\00:13:08.98 one we are doing that, you know September is 00:13:09.01\00:13:12.21 the PAD, Peripheral Arterial Disease month, 00:13:12.24\00:13:15.10 awareness month, and they have a company 00:13:15.28\00:13:18.12 called Legs For Life, and A Society for 00:13:18.15\00:13:22.79 Interventional Radiology have testing sometimes, 00:13:22.82\00:13:27.38 these testing's are free and just go to website, 00:13:27.41\00:13:30.44 a Society for Interventional Radiology, 00:13:30.95\00:13:33.92 go to the website, you see if any sites 00:13:33.95\00:13:35.98 in your area and a lot of these times, 00:13:36.01\00:13:37.83 a lot of these sites are free for testing any 00:13:37.86\00:13:40.49 Peripheral Arterial Disease in the legs as well 00:13:41.51\00:13:44.20 and normally during the month of September 00:13:44.46\00:13:46.88 because this is best September, 00:13:46.91\00:13:48.54 Awareness month for PAD. 00:13:48.57\00:13:49.94 Okay, I guess the next question if you don't 00:13:50.79\00:13:53.40 take care of it, if it goes unchecked, 00:13:53.43\00:13:55.74 what can happen? Well, naturally 00:13:56.10\00:13:59.18 of course is plaque builds up on the artery 00:13:59.21\00:14:02.27 wall, it makes the artery wall very stiff and rigid, 00:14:02.30\00:14:06.44 there by number one, the blood pressure goes 00:14:07.01\00:14:09.33 up, blood pressure goes up, there is more stress 00:14:09.36\00:14:12.78 on the kidneys, blood pressure goes up, 00:14:12.81\00:14:15.43 there's more risk of stroke because the 00:14:15.77\00:14:18.25 pressure against the artery in the brain 00:14:18.28\00:14:20.57 creates tiny breaks in the blood vessels of the 00:14:21.56\00:14:25.00 brain there by you have a stroke. 00:14:25.03\00:14:26.92 So, with that in mind there is a picture of a 00:14:27.78\00:14:31.14 plaque rupturing. Let's look at this picture 00:14:31.41\00:14:34.69 at this time so again you have a plaque on both 00:14:34.72\00:14:37.51 sides of the artery wall and with that in mind 00:14:37.54\00:14:40.47 sometimes some plaques are vulnerable, 00:14:40.50\00:14:42.53 meaning that they more prone to a rupture 00:14:42.82\00:14:45.91 and when they rupture they're going to rupture 00:14:46.43\00:14:48.16 a blood clot, now blood clot forms which will 00:14:48.19\00:14:52.53 include any blood flow. So, of course if there is 00:14:52.56\00:14:55.62 a coronary artery then of course you will have 00:14:55.65\00:14:57.45 a stroke, the coronary arteries you going to 00:14:57.48\00:14:59.37 have a heart attack, when a leg of course 00:14:59.40\00:15:01.65 you will have a server case of claudication, 00:15:01.68\00:15:04.55 which is very severe a leg pain is what it is? 00:15:04.58\00:15:07.60 Okay. And so with that in mind becoming 00:15:07.63\00:15:09.96 unchecked then this very serious promises 00:15:09.99\00:15:12.47 with that and again a lot of people are walking 00:15:12.50\00:15:14.84 around with PAD, Peripheral Arterial 00:15:14.87\00:15:18.10 Disease, eight million people and don't even 00:15:18.13\00:15:21.85 know it, because two thirds do not have any 00:15:21.88\00:15:24.46 symptoms, that's why its good to have this 00:15:24.49\00:15:26.41 check and normally as we get older we have 00:15:26.44\00:15:28.73 these type of diseases in the coronaries or also in 00:15:28.76\00:15:32.63 our legs as well, that's why it's very important 00:15:32.66\00:15:35.14 as far as this plaque is attacking the body 00:15:35.17\00:15:40.02 and with that in mind it doesn't have to be, 00:15:40.59\00:15:42.67 man's original diet is what everybody, 00:15:43.98\00:15:47.43 well, you tell me honey? Well you know I always 00:15:48.06\00:15:49.82 say this, when it comes to trying to figure out 00:15:49.85\00:15:52.49 what the original diet is, all we have to do is go 00:15:52.52\00:15:55.13 back to the very first book of the Bible. 00:15:55.16\00:15:57.38 I've said it before in our programs and I will say 00:15:57.81\00:15:59.64 it again, God put everything in place 00:15:59.67\00:16:03.06 before he did his crowning act, 00:16:03.09\00:16:05.47 which was male and female and so 00:16:05.50\00:16:08.01 everything was in place in the 00:16:08.04\00:16:09.41 very first book of the Bible. 00:16:09.44\00:16:10.81 People say God doesn't care about what we eat? 00:16:10.84\00:16:12.21 Yes he does, because in the first book of the 00:16:12.24\00:16:13.83 Bible Genesis 1:29, and that's grains and seeds, 00:16:13.86\00:16:16.74 they will be your meat, your food, alright, and 00:16:16.77\00:16:19.46 then after sin of course Genesis 3:18 which 00:16:19.49\00:16:22.45 God then allowed us to have the vegetation. 00:16:22.48\00:16:25.06 That's the herbs that feed, plant of the earth. 00:16:25.09\00:16:27.01 So you know once again when we think 00:16:27.22\00:16:29.22 about it, if it wasn't important he could have 00:16:29.25\00:16:30.71 put it in Psalms and Revelation, that's true, 00:16:30.74\00:16:32.23 okay but he put it in the first book of the Bible, 00:16:32.26\00:16:34.04 that is the manual, that is the manual just like 00:16:34.07\00:16:37.16 trying to get I always say this is a big joke, 00:16:37.19\00:16:39.88 that everybody thinks is a joke, it's not really a 00:16:39.91\00:16:41.73 joke, but if Curtis were to buy me a brand new 00:16:41.76\00:16:44.43 BMW pink, that's my favorite color. 00:16:45.01\00:16:47.69 Okay, now wait a minute, this is the self 00:16:47.72\00:16:49.73 supporting ministry though. 00:16:49.76\00:16:51.13 Once again God can do anything without fail. 00:16:52.14\00:16:54.66 Well, that's true too. So, get me a BMW, 00:16:54.69\00:16:57.10 and if he gives me this car then I am going to 00:16:57.13\00:16:59.36 have to read the manual. 00:16:59.39\00:17:00.76 That's true. To know how to 00:17:00.79\00:17:02.16 operate it, and when I need to put the gas in 00:17:02.19\00:17:03.56 and then get the oil changed and everything 00:17:03.59\00:17:04.96 and so with that in mind the manual becomes 00:17:04.99\00:17:06.89 very important to me if I want to keep this car 00:17:06.92\00:17:09.49 and I want it to be in good running order, 00:17:09.68\00:17:11.43 what the creator God put in the first book of 00:17:11.76\00:17:14.04 the Bible, the original diet. 00:17:14.07\00:17:16.23 He put it there and it is the manual, if you want 00:17:16.60\00:17:19.14 to know how to live right? Read the word of God, 00:17:19.17\00:17:21.84 that's what I love about that, okay God's love 00:17:21.87\00:17:24.03 letters to us, to come straight out of the 00:17:24.06\00:17:25.67 world, all the mysteries, all the things we need to 00:17:25.70\00:17:27.56 know to take care of that body system. 00:17:27.59\00:17:29.63 Yes, yes. You know because after 00:17:29.66\00:17:31.12 all, the temple, the body is the temple. 00:17:31.15\00:17:34.03 Yes, it is. Where the Holy Spirit 00:17:34.06\00:17:35.43 dwells, we said Christ is our personal savior, 00:17:35.46\00:17:37.49 that's where the Spirit of God moves into 00:17:37.85\00:17:40.26 place and so therefore we don't want to corrupt 00:17:40.29\00:17:42.55 or put things into that body system 00:17:42.84\00:17:44.60 that is not good for us. Yeah, and I think we 00:17:44.82\00:17:48.06 are right on the mark honey 00:17:48.09\00:17:49.46 because we have a sense of duty. 00:17:49.49\00:17:50.86 Yes. A sense of obligation, First Corinthians 6:19 00:17:50.89\00:17:53.96 and 20 What? Know ye not that your 00:17:53.99\00:17:56.05 body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. 00:17:56.08\00:17:58.92 Ye not of your own, you belong to God. 00:18:00.27\00:18:03.17 That's right, that's right. Ye are bought with the 00:18:03.20\00:18:04.92 price of Jesus shed blood. Yes, yes. 00:18:04.95\00:18:08.44 Therefore, as someone says anytime you see 00:18:08.47\00:18:12.25 the word, therefore in the Bible, there must be 00:18:12.28\00:18:15.65 therefore what? Therefore glorify God 00:18:15.68\00:18:20.62 in your body which is God's. 00:18:21.08\00:18:22.45 And so with that in mind we have a sense 00:18:22.68\00:18:24.05 of duty, a sense of obligation to take care 00:18:24.08\00:18:25.60 of our body and not wait until a 00:18:25.63\00:18:27.87 cardiovascular event happens but we need to 00:18:27.90\00:18:30.58 make some lifestyle adjustments, 00:18:30.61\00:18:32.97 lifetime modifications and have certain tests 00:18:33.71\00:18:36.91 done, we should have our blood pressure 00:18:36.94\00:18:38.75 in our head, yeah, we should know our 00:18:39.09\00:18:41.31 cholesterol, we should know our glucose, 00:18:41.34\00:18:43.93 those kind of things, so therefore nothing 00:18:44.53\00:18:46.14 can sneak up on us, or at least we can reduce 00:18:46.17\00:18:49.04 the risk of something major sneaking up on 00:18:49.07\00:18:52.15 us because we have these numbers we know 00:18:52.18\00:18:53.90 where we stand, so that's what it's all about, 00:18:53.93\00:18:55.65 so its time we go into the kitchen. 00:18:56.22\00:18:57.71 Yeah and we need to take care of ourselves. 00:18:57.74\00:18:59.66 Yes, we do. The more mature we 00:18:59.69\00:19:01.68 become of age, the more we need to really 00:19:01.71\00:19:03.96 check on ourselves and make sure that 00:19:03.99\00:19:06.21 everything is going to be alright, you know it 00:19:06.24\00:19:07.61 doesn't make sense to raise you know have a 00:19:07.64\00:19:09.50 relationship your marriage and have you 00:19:09.53\00:19:11.48 cheering in your children, that's true, 00:19:11.51\00:19:13.09 and all that, everybody grows up, everybody is 00:19:13.12\00:19:14.72 growing, you and your husband are there and 00:19:14.75\00:19:16.12 then all of the sudden you can't have a good time. 00:19:16.15\00:19:18.81 That's true. Okay, and you don't 00:19:18.84\00:19:20.21 have to, you know if you are not married, 00:19:20.24\00:19:21.61 you need to take care of yourself. 00:19:21.64\00:19:23.70 You need to take care of yourself. 00:19:23.73\00:19:25.10 Now, in that kitchen, talk about taking care yourself. 00:19:25.16\00:19:27.85 We are going to be doing a recipe, 00:19:28.90\00:19:30.27 this is I know is one of my favorites and Curtis' 00:19:30.30\00:19:31.97 favorite as well, it's actually called a 00:19:32.00\00:19:34.21 Tomato Salsa, get your paper and your pencil 00:19:34.24\00:19:38.10 and meet us in the kitchen. 00:19:38.13\00:19:39.88
