Every 3000, 00:04:32.23\00:04:36.30 500 calories equals 1 pound. 00:04:36.33\00:04:39.93 Therefore pounds as weight as fats, 00:04:40.60\00:04:42.77 that we call soft drinks, liquid fat. 00:04:42.80\00:04:46.71 You don't see the fat on the soft drink, 00:04:46.74\00:04:49.03 but you see it in a calorie amount based on the 00:04:49.06\00:04:51.83 sugar content. And, we've gone to grocery stores, 00:04:51.86\00:04:54.70 honey, as well those who are listening, yeah, yeah, 00:04:54.73\00:04:57.20 you see people go through carts and you see 00:04:57.23\00:05:00.09 people are not buying maybe one liter of a soft drink 00:05:00.12\00:05:03.77 or a can of soft drink. And then, I said okay 00:06:00.48\00:06:03.20 let me ask you a question, are you doing any sodas? 00:06:03.23\00:06:05.37 They said no, no, no I'm, I'm actually just doing 00:06:05.40\00:06:07.73 maybe a grape juice or orange juice or apple juice 00:06:07.76\00:06:10.62 instead and I said okay I want you off of all liquids 00:06:10.65\00:06:14.41 except water. Nothing for the next couple of weeks, 00:06:14.44\00:06:17.25 believe or not, the weight begins to go back down, 00:06:17.28\00:06:20.71 so it's true. 00:06:20.74\00:06:22.11 That is sugar regardless to whether it's a soda 00:06:22.14\00:06:24.17 or whether it's actually grape juice or apple juice, 00:06:24.20\00:06:27.08 it's just the amount, so we're talking about now 00:06:27.11\00:06:28.97 that's going to really cause some problems... 00:06:29.00\00:06:30.37 So now this also includes ice tea. Is there any research out 00:06:43.34\00:06:45.53 there for those who say where is the research? 00:06:45.56\00:06:47.11 Okay, there is a lot of research out there, 00:06:47.14\00:06:49.43 Lancet Medical Journal out of UK, England are the most 00:06:49.46\00:06:54.14 prestigious medical journals in the entire world. 00:06:54.17\00:06:56.45 They study on children consuming soft drinks 00:06:56.48\00:07:00.85 and they said for every soft drink a child can more 00:07:00.88\00:07:05.79 or less have a high risk of becoming obese, 00:07:05.82\00:07:09.26 not overweight, but obese in adulthood. 00:07:09.75\00:07:13.26 And, so that's Lancet Medical Journal 00:07:13.29\00:07:16.70 and let me talk about obesity and the Body Mass Index. 00:07:16.73\00:07:21.25 We didn't talk about this. 00:07:21.28\00:07:22.65 So, let's insert this right now. 00:07:22.68\00:07:24.05 The way to determine what is weight status is 00:07:24.59\00:07:27.40 what we call the Body Mass Index. 00:07:27.43\00:07:30.54 And you can go to the Google source or internet 00:07:30.57\00:07:32.60 and just type in Body Mass Index 00:07:32.63\00:07:35.15 and you'll have a chart there. 00:07:35.18\00:07:36.75 This is the weight status of where a person stands 00:07:36.78\00:07:39.92 based on their height and their weight and this go up 00:07:39.95\00:07:43.16 to your weight, go across to your height and then 00:07:43.19\00:07:45.97 you've your BMI 00:07:46.00\00:07:48.87 Now, the parameters are 18 to 24 your normal weight, 00:07:48.90\00:07:55.66 18 or 24 BMI, 25 to 29 your overweight 00:07:56.53\00:08:03.63 and that's usually or approximately about 00:08:04.14\00:08:05.73 30 pounds overweight, but 25 to 29 is overweight, 00:08:05.76\00:08:09.55 the BMI. Now, 30 and above you consider it obese. 00:08:09.58\00:08:16.40 40 and above you're a candidate 00:08:18.40\00:08:21.82 for Bariatric surgery. And National Institute of Health 00:08:21.85\00:08:26.38 are now considering even lowering that down lower 00:08:26.41\00:08:29.94 for the surgery for those who want to have that 00:08:29.97\00:08:32.88 stomach stapling. So, again that's the BMI. 00:08:32.91\00:08:35.56 Now, the Boston Children's Hospital did a study 00:08:35.59\00:08:39.69 and this is interesting research there of children 00:08:39.72\00:08:42.28 because we did it with children too are obese. 00:08:42.31\00:08:44.03 They did a study at the Boston Children's Hospital 00:08:44.48\00:08:46.63 and discovered that if a child drinks 1 soda per day, 00:08:46.66\00:08:51.72 we're talking about 12 ounces folks, alright, 00:08:52.47\00:08:54.67 their BMI will be added to point of scale 0.18, 00:08:55.57\00:09:01.78 just 1 soda per day, 0.18 points to your BMI. 00:09:01.81\00:09:06.93 Now, if you drink 6 sodas a day, 00:09:06.96\00:09:12.04 then your BMI goes up 1 point. Alright, 00:09:13.00\00:09:16.92 so you can see how that is effective of obesity. 00:09:16.95\00:09:19.91 Now, guess what? Now, these energy drinks 00:11:16.97\00:11:19.89 are like a triple whammy. Okay. Number one, 00:11:19.92\00:11:22.33 it has liquid fat because it has the sugar, 00:11:22.36\00:11:24.21 high fructose corn syrup that's one, 00:11:24.78\00:11:27.29 also the energy drinks also have caffeine. 00:11:27.92\00:11:32.07 Now, you read on a container, 00:11:32.63\00:11:34.00 it has the word Gorana, Gorana. 00:11:34.03\00:11:37.67 There is a mention of the caffeine but that 00:11:38.24\00:11:40.02 something that has caffeine in it. 00:11:40.05\00:11:42.08 You read it, that's what it has. It has the caffeine, 00:11:42.11\00:11:44.57 it has the sugar, high sugar content and also 20% of 00:11:45.43\00:11:49.94 these energy drinks now contain alcohol. I see. 00:11:49.97\00:11:54.67 So, it's a triple whammy, yeah, yeah, with these 00:11:54.70\00:11:56.23 energy drinks and they have climbed drastically 00:11:56.26\00:12:01.12 within the last several years in these convenience 00:12:01.15\00:12:04.01 stores, energy drinks. So, liquid fat, 00:12:04.04\00:12:06.60 the coffee, the lactase, the soft drinks 00:12:06.63\00:12:09.57 all of these combined adds weight to the system. 00:12:09.60\00:12:13.08 I thought about the word where you've been 00:12:13.11\00:12:15.37 saying high fructose. Somebody, high fructose, 00:12:15.40\00:12:19.42 high fructose, yeah, somebody called one time 00:12:19.45\00:12:21.53 and asked the question about what's the difference 00:12:21.56\00:12:23.56 between a fructose that we're using 00:12:23.59\00:12:25.33 and high fructose we see on the label? 00:12:25.36\00:12:27.83 Right.
