Well, I just want to know 00:00:01.06\00:00:03.25 is it hotter here or is it just me? 00:00:03.28\00:00:07.36 Okay, on our program today 00:00:07.39\00:00:09.21 we are gonna talk about power surges. 00:00:09.24\00:00:11.10 So you need to stay by. 00:00:11.13\00:00:14.23 Hi, welcome to Abundant Living. 00:00:50.08\00:00:51.60 This is Curtis Eakins, your co-host 00:00:51.63\00:00:53.65 and I have another co-host as well 00:00:53.68\00:00:56.01 my beautiful wife who is fanny. 00:00:56.04\00:00:58.04 Is it hot here or is it just me? 00:00:58.07\00:01:00.28 Oh, no. 00:01:00.31\00:01:01.36 You explain some of those-- now we don't say hot flashes. 00:01:01.39\00:01:05.18 That's right. Be careful. 00:01:05.21\00:01:07.15 Yes, the program is entitled preventing power surges. 00:01:07.18\00:01:12.47 Because I do remember, 00:01:12.50\00:01:13.66 I do remember doing those presentations one time 00:01:13.69\00:01:16.14 and we were saying the word hot flashes 00:01:16.17\00:01:20.78 but there was a problem because in the church 00:01:20.81\00:01:23.85 where we attend at first church, 00:01:23.88\00:01:25.81 I see men fanning, okay. 00:01:25.84\00:01:29.65 I see children fanning. 00:01:29.68\00:01:31.88 And so I'm like well, everybody can't be having hot flashes. 00:01:31.91\00:01:35.08 So then a lady came to me-- Maybe air-condition was broke. 00:01:35.11\00:01:37.39 Lady came out to me and she said 00:01:37.42\00:01:39.06 there are not called hot flashes dear 00:01:39.09\00:01:41.39 they are called power surges. 00:01:41.42\00:01:45.34 That means it makes a distinction between 00:01:45.37\00:01:46.69 those who are actually going through that 00:01:46.72\00:01:48.32 and women who went menopause. 00:01:48.35\00:01:50.91 I think we are talking about today, 00:01:50.94\00:01:52.01 we are talking about menopause. 00:01:52.04\00:01:53.71 So in one of time it's pretty built in heating. 00:01:53.74\00:01:57.72 Oh, yes, you never know 00:01:57.75\00:01:58.78 I mean, you can actually have a power surge 00:01:58.81\00:02:00.86 in the summer, in the winter, 00:02:00.89\00:02:02.30 you know, and we will talk about, 00:02:02.33\00:02:03.92 you know, different foods that can bring it on 00:02:03.95\00:02:05.50 and different things it can happen, 00:02:05.53\00:02:06.78 is that reason for they have these power surges 00:02:06.81\00:02:09.66 but she actually brought me a plaque. 00:02:09.69\00:02:11.61 Yeah, you had a plaque. 00:02:11.64\00:02:12.70 I meant to bring that plaque with me 00:02:12.73\00:02:13.96 but I left it at home. 00:02:13.99\00:02:15.42 So anyway, it say I'm not having hot flashes, 00:02:15.45\00:02:18.57 I'm having power surge. 00:02:18.60\00:02:20.66 so in winter time only, next you honey, 00:02:20.69\00:02:22.41 Mexico people have those power surges. 00:02:22.44\00:02:24.28 We'll talk about that. Built in radiator. 00:02:24.31\00:02:26.89 All right, yeah, so we are talking about men-pause. 00:02:26.92\00:02:32.05 Women come forward. Come forward. 00:02:32.08\00:02:34.84 Because it's all about women. 00:02:34.87\00:02:37.28 All about the ladies, its all about the ladies. 00:02:37.31\00:02:38.91 All about the ladies. All about the ladies, okay. 00:02:38.94\00:02:40.06 Well, let's talk about menopause-- 00:02:40.09\00:02:42.30 we can talk about-- we're gonna get as much 00:02:42.33\00:02:45.10 as we can before we going into the kitchen. 00:02:45.13\00:02:47.68 Let's go ahead and let's define some terms. 00:02:47.71\00:02:49.97 What is menopause by definition? 00:02:50.00\00:02:52.27 Well, you know, when we talk about menopause 00:02:52.30\00:02:53.52 we talk them of the stop, stopping of the menses. 00:02:53.55\00:02:55.64 When you get to the point 00:02:55.67\00:02:56.70 where the menses or to the point 00:02:56.73\00:02:58.10 where you might go like a whole year 00:02:58.13\00:03:00.17 because sometime women think 00:03:00.20\00:03:01.24 they are going through menopause 00:03:01.27\00:03:02.36 but actually it's that timeframe 00:03:02.39\00:03:04.33 when its actually preparing for menopause. 00:03:04.36\00:03:05.93 But menopause means when you go whole year 00:03:05.96\00:03:07.95 without your menses you are more or less 00:03:07.98\00:03:09.92 moving into menopause. 00:03:09.95\00:03:11.91 That is age group, you know, 00:03:11.94\00:03:14.41 is a part of knowing when it's going to go on. 00:03:14.44\00:03:17.09 So why don't we look at that 00:03:17.12\00:03:18.52 so that menses once gain pause, 00:03:18.55\00:03:22.54 things are getting ready to chance. 00:03:22.57\00:03:23.89 Really for the better even though it seem like 00:03:23.92\00:03:25.57 it's the worst right now what is going to get better. 00:03:25.60\00:03:27.58 yeah, so let's talk about the age 00:03:27.61\00:03:29.39 because I know that it can vary, 00:03:29.42\00:03:32.89 we can have other things that bring on menopause 00:03:32.92\00:03:35.74 we talk about that as well. 00:03:35.77\00:03:37.16 But let's go to our first graphic, 00:03:37.19\00:03:38.81 talk about the age, honey. 00:03:38.84\00:03:39.90 Let's look at the first graphic at this time. 00:03:39.93\00:03:41.73 You want to talk about 00:03:41.76\00:03:42.79 or you want me to talk about it? 00:03:42.82\00:03:45.20 Oh, you got the graphic, you made it so-- 00:03:45.23\00:03:46.26 Okay, well, let's talk about, okay. 00:03:46.29\00:03:47.32 At what age do menopause symptoms first appear? 00:03:47.35\00:03:50.23 Now of course, 00:03:50.26\00:03:53.20 there the average age is right at 51. 00:03:53.23\00:03:56.34 If you have to have an average age 00:03:56.37\00:03:58.54 it can be 45 to 55. 00:03:58.57\00:04:01.17 You see there it can start as early as 40 00:04:01.20\00:04:05.46 it can go on pass 65. 00:04:05.49\00:04:09.45 That's a long ways but again the peak 00:04:09.48\00:04:11.64 is right at that 50-55 that mark right there 00:04:11.67\00:04:17.09 but 45-55 is usually the time where a woman is going 00:04:17.12\00:04:20.74 through the menopause that change of life. 00:04:20.77\00:04:24.14 Well, now there is also a timeframe 00:04:24.17\00:04:26.15 when it can be a thing called surgical menopause 00:04:26.18\00:04:29.02 and when we talk about surgical menopause it means that, 00:04:29.05\00:04:31.39 if for any reason either the ovaries 00:04:31.42\00:04:33.59 and or the uterus is removed then of course or both 00:04:33.62\00:04:37.01 then of course they automatically plummeted 00:04:37.04\00:04:38.93 into menopause at early age. 00:04:38.96\00:04:41.47 It was amazing as we were doing study on this 00:04:41.50\00:04:43.18 as talking about menopause 00:04:43.21\00:04:45.02 that we found women in their 20s 00:04:45.05\00:04:47.16 that actually were already in menopause. 00:04:47.19\00:04:49.23 And you say well, how is that possible? 00:04:49.26\00:04:50.46 If the ovaries and or the actual uterus is removed 00:04:50.49\00:04:54.04 surgically they can cause a problem 00:04:54.07\00:04:55.66 and she will go into menopause 00:04:55.69\00:04:56.77 because its actually a hormonal imbalance as well. 00:04:56.80\00:05:00.00 Also chemo and radiation-- 00:05:00.03\00:05:01.80 Oh, chemo-- that's right. 00:05:01.83\00:05:03.22 Chemotherapy, radiation at a young age 00:05:03.25\00:05:06.43 that can also cause some problems 00:05:06.46\00:05:07.65 for her go into menopause as well. 00:05:07.68\00:05:10.04 It was kind of when we are doing research 00:05:10.07\00:05:11.72 and talking about the subject 00:05:11.75\00:05:12.78 how many women were actually in menopause at early age. 00:05:12.81\00:05:15.75 So when we talk about that sometime we have women 00:05:15.78\00:05:19.00 who are doing our program as a matter of fact 00:05:19.03\00:05:20.74 when we do a program called Power Surges 00:05:20.77\00:05:22.83 we normally have to do PMS syndrome 00:05:22.86\00:05:25.94 and then move into menopause 00:05:25.97\00:05:27.23 because if we just say its gonna be menopause 00:05:27.26\00:05:29.46 women mostly-- younger women say 00:05:29.49\00:05:31.09 well, that's so far away, 00:05:31.12\00:05:33.57 that's in the 50s and 60s so I'm not worried now. 00:05:33.60\00:05:35.84 I'm just 20, okay. 00:05:35.87\00:05:37.33 But-- And you do PMS-- 00:05:37.36\00:05:38.96 When they come in and they see-- 00:05:38.99\00:05:40.40 The older women won't come because oh, I'm passed that. 00:05:40.43\00:05:42.68 No, yeah. 00:05:42.71\00:05:43.85 So what happens as we did a program called 00:05:43.88\00:05:45.67 Women's Wellness Week and it was every subject 00:05:45.70\00:05:48.75 dealing with the women, 00:05:48.78\00:05:49.84 the thyroid, migraine headaches, 00:05:49.87\00:05:52.42 PMS, heart diseases, stroke, 00:05:52.45\00:05:55.38 all those different things that dealt with women. 00:05:55.41\00:05:57.08 And believe it or not as the week began 00:05:57.11\00:05:59.25 to build the ages of the women they got older and younger 00:05:59.28\00:06:03.83 because they start talking about, 00:06:03.86\00:06:04.89 they are talking about women, the stuff we're going through. 00:06:04.92\00:06:07.42 And so and that respect is good 00:06:07.45\00:06:09.28 because really and truly we tell women 00:06:09.31\00:06:11.49 in your 20s is to have 00:06:11.52\00:06:13.10 your first test done, the hormonal test 00:06:13.13\00:06:14.98 which you are gonna talk about a little bit 00:06:15.01\00:06:16.58 and then that way you will have a gauge 00:06:16.61\00:06:18.34 as you get to your 30s and 40s and something goes down 00:06:18.37\00:06:20.69 you can go backwards 00:06:20.72\00:06:21.82 and see well, this is where my hormones 00:06:21.85\00:06:23.65 were at one time and now they have changed. 00:06:23.68\00:06:26.17 So don't think because you are not 00:06:26.20\00:06:27.85 50 or 60 or 51 whatever our average age is 00:06:27.88\00:06:30.97 that you are not suspect 00:06:31.00\00:06:33.16 or able to go through a menopause. 00:06:33.19\00:06:36.14 That's what I want to tell. 00:06:36.17\00:06:37.27 Yes, okay, now there's another term called perimenopause. 00:06:37.30\00:06:42.59 And I think we have a graphic on that 00:06:42.62\00:06:44.20 and let's go to the screen at this time. 00:06:44.23\00:06:45.86 Let's talk about perimeno. 00:06:45.89\00:06:47.44 Well, first before going to the screen 00:06:47.47\00:06:48.78 what is perimenopause?
