Hi, I'm taking thyroid medication 00:00:01.06\00:00:03.59 it's just not working for me. 00:00:03.62\00:00:05.56 There are so many baleful side effects what can I do? 00:00:05.59\00:00:08.74 Well, today's program is just for you entitled 00:00:08.77\00:00:11.61 "The Master Glands." 00:00:11.64\00:00:12.81 So stay by. 00:00:12.84\00:00:14.06 Hi, this is Curtis Eakins co-host of Abundant Living. 00:00:48.21\00:00:51.97 And this is my beautiful bride Paula Eakins. 00:00:52.00\00:00:54.53 Why are you laughing? 00:00:54.56\00:00:55.75 Happy today to be with me on this program? 00:00:55.78\00:00:59.00 Okay. 00:00:59.03\00:01:00.32 And, oh, that's a nice pink blouse there. 00:01:00.35\00:01:04.47 You know, I let you dress first 00:01:04.50\00:01:05.69 and then I'll match what you wear in color. 00:01:05.72\00:01:10.37 Good. Not in garments. 00:01:10.40\00:01:11.59 Okay. So, you look nice though. 00:01:11.62\00:01:13.21 Thank you. Well, thank you. 00:01:13.24\00:01:14.48 Okay, the master gland. The master gland. 00:01:14.51\00:01:17.86 You talk before about it also being called 00:01:17.89\00:01:19.81 the butterfly gland. 00:01:19.84\00:01:20.87 The butterfly gland. 00:01:20.90\00:01:21.93 And when we were talking last time 00:01:21.96\00:01:23.26 we were getting into all the statistics 00:01:23.29\00:01:25.09 and all that kind of information stuff about, 00:01:25.12\00:01:27.33 what was gonna with thyroid? 00:01:27.36\00:01:28.72 And so we're just continuing on. 00:01:28.75\00:01:29.80 Yes. Just go ahead, honey. 00:01:29.83\00:01:30.86 Because my next-- my next question 00:01:30.89\00:01:32.58 is gonna be about a person who has hypothyroidism, okay. 00:01:32.61\00:01:37.59 What kind of drugs or the type of drugs 00:01:37.62\00:01:39.72 that are given for that? 00:01:39.75\00:01:41.62 And just a recap in case those 00:01:41.65\00:01:43.13 who missed the program before the thyroid gland 00:01:43.16\00:01:45.59 is called the master gland 00:01:45.62\00:01:47.65 and it's controlled by the hypothalamus 00:01:47.68\00:01:49.54 and pituitary gland, the base of the skull. 00:01:49.57\00:01:52.27 They are and of course they control the thyroid gland. 00:01:52.30\00:01:55.32 And the thyroid already produces 00:01:55.35\00:01:57.17 two main hormones T4 and T3. 00:01:57.20\00:02:01.69 Those two hormones stimulate every tissue in a body. 00:02:01.72\00:02:08.11 Therefore it's called the master gland, all right. 00:02:08.14\00:02:12.42 So if this not working properly then, a lot of symptoms, 00:02:12.45\00:02:15.74 we missing that last time the extremities of cold hands, 00:02:15.77\00:02:19.16 feet, lethargy, tired, feeling depressed, weight gain, 00:02:19.19\00:02:24.91 depression, constipation, menstrual problems. 00:02:24.94\00:02:29.06 I mean, the list goes on and on. 00:02:29.09\00:02:30.44 So that's why it's called a master gland. 00:02:30.47\00:02:32.04 So of course, there is drugs for this condition, 00:02:32.07\00:02:36.23 hypothyroidism, low acting. 00:02:36.26\00:02:39.13 And one other drugs probably of choice is Synthroid. 00:02:39.16\00:02:44.08 And probably everyone heard of Synthroid 00:02:44.11\00:02:46.78 and of course the word Syn-throid. 00:02:46.81\00:02:52.28 Throid- thyroid, Syn- synthetic. 00:02:52.31\00:02:57.44 So it's a synthetic thyroid drug. 00:02:57.47\00:03:03.99 Syn-throid. Syn-throid, meaning? 00:03:04.02\00:03:08.23 Synthetic. Meaning? 00:03:08.26\00:03:09.74 Yeah, synthetic. The thyroid hormone. 00:03:09.77\00:03:12.31 Man made. Right. 00:03:12.34\00:03:13.97 Synthetic. So Syn-throid. 00:03:14.00\00:03:16.25 And with that synthetic 00:03:16.28\00:03:19.14 there's baleful side effects of that to name just a few. 00:03:19.17\00:03:24.04 First you have abnormal heart rhythm. 00:03:24.07\00:03:29.34 That's not good. Arrhythmia, all right. 00:03:29.37\00:03:31.97 Two, congestive heart failure. That's not good. 00:03:32.00\00:03:37.41 Hives and rash for some people 00:03:37.44\00:03:40.21 and an increased of fractures of the wrist, 00:03:40.24\00:03:45.22 forearm, shoulder, spine, leg and ankle. 00:03:45.25\00:03:51.65 Synthroid. Synthroid. 00:03:55.15\00:03:57.32 That's not sound any holy good. Does not sound good-- 00:03:57.35\00:03:59.16 It really doesn't. It's not sounding good. 00:03:59.19\00:04:00.58 And that's the drug of choice for hypothyroidism. 00:04:00.61\00:04:06.50 And a lot of people have this condition 00:04:06.53\00:04:08.89 that we're missing some of the things 00:04:08.92\00:04:10.22 that people, you know, would do 00:04:10.25\00:04:13.60 that will cause this gland to be under active or hypo. 00:04:13.63\00:04:17.94 And so that's the choice and that's the main drug 00:04:17.97\00:04:20.31 of choice for this condition. 00:04:20.34\00:04:21.73 So a lot of people they are taking up 00:04:21.76\00:04:23.73 but they are not satisfied, the baleful side effects 00:04:23.76\00:04:26.77 and so it's not really efficacious 00:04:26.80\00:04:29.62 for this type of condition. 00:04:29.65\00:04:31.27 Now a lot of people, they would do 00:04:31.30\00:04:33.59 is they will go to another type of drug 00:04:33.62\00:04:36.39 which is bio-identical hormone. 00:04:36.42\00:04:40.12 More similar to the body's hormone, 00:04:40.15\00:04:42.26 all right and this is called Armour thyroid, all right. 00:04:42.29\00:04:47.65 Now let me talk about that because that's a little bit 00:04:47.68\00:04:51.86 more positive as far as outcome 00:04:51.89\00:04:55.36 is concerned as supposed to Synthroid, all right. 00:04:55.39\00:04:58.44 This is not synthetic, it's bio-identical. 00:04:58.47\00:05:01.91 So it's more tuned to what the body produces. 00:05:01.94\00:05:04.19 Now the body produces like I said before T4 and T3, 00:05:04.22\00:05:10.80 but the ratio is 11:1. 00:05:10.83\00:05:12.41 In other words the body naturally 00:05:12.44\00:05:13.66 produce T4, T3 at 11:1 ratio. 00:05:13.69\00:05:19.94 Armour thyroid drug is a 4:1 ratio. 00:05:19.97\00:05:24.94 So it's not exact what the body produces 00:05:24.97\00:05:27.32 but it's closer than Synthroid 00:05:27.35\00:05:30.13 therefore you have better results. 00:05:30.16\00:05:32.67 The down side for a lot of people 00:05:32.70\00:05:35.85 is dried thyroid cells from the pig. 00:05:35.88\00:05:40.01 Wait a minute, hold up. Okay. Okay. 00:05:40.04\00:05:44.00 I mean it's better but at least it's not synthetic 00:05:44.03\00:05:48.36 but it's for a the pig, dried thyroid cell for the pig, 00:05:48.39\00:05:51.86 Armour thyroid. 00:05:51.89\00:05:53.70 So it's little bit better tolerated 00:05:53.73\00:05:55.16 but and you have to really get that more 11:1 00:05:55.19\00:05:59.10 the way the body produces to a compound pharmacist 00:05:59.13\00:06:01.69 which is sometimes hard to do. 00:06:01.72\00:06:03.62 And that's really the choice of the people have, 00:06:03.65\00:06:06.57 either Synthroid, synthetic or bio-identical 00:06:06.60\00:06:10.38 which is Armour thyroid is a oral 00:06:10.41\00:06:13.15 and of course the Armour 00:06:13.18\00:06:14.91 is a little bit more better than Sythriod 00:06:14.94\00:06:17.27 but again some people are not too happy about 00:06:17.30\00:06:20.91 it coming from dry thyroid cell from a pig. 00:06:20.94\00:06:26.04 That should be help. I know. 00:06:26.07\00:06:28.22 I know for a fact that surely its like, 00:06:28.25\00:06:30.57 okay, I'm not happy with either one of those. 00:06:30.60\00:06:33.67 So you know that we're always looking at an alternative 00:06:33.70\00:06:38.11 and in alternative is there any alternative medication? 00:06:38.14\00:06:43.80 I don't want to say what drug 00:06:43.83\00:06:45.31 they can be used as well as that 00:06:45.34\00:06:48.53 and I guess-- I'm just thinking about myself. 00:06:48.56\00:06:52.76 Okay. 00:06:52.79\00:06:54.96 I'm not really sure or how long or it was 00:06:54.99\00:06:57.10 but I know that I was having some issues 00:06:57.13\00:06:59.87 at least with my nails, because I think-- 00:06:59.90\00:07:01.88 oh, might have brought that up. 00:07:01.91\00:07:03.33 Yes, a whole list. Okay, okay. 00:07:03.36\00:07:04.39 I mean, 47 conditions 00:07:04.42\00:07:05.54 but nails, yeah, that some nails. 00:07:05.57\00:07:06.73 My nails, my hair, okay, my skin was acting up 00:07:06.76\00:07:11.92 and of course going in to have my regular physicals. 00:07:11.95\00:07:14.83 Well, I mentioned it to my doctor 00:07:14.86\00:07:17.21 he automatically said, 00:07:17.24\00:07:18.28 it's probably a problem with your thyroid. 00:07:18.31\00:07:20.58 And let me say this 00:07:20.61\00:07:21.88 as my wife continues her TSH was very high. 00:07:21.91\00:07:25.90 And remember in the last program-- 00:07:25.93\00:07:27.38 we're talking about the TSH. 00:07:27.41\00:07:28.72 Let me say this before you finish up. 00:07:28.75\00:07:31.52 TSH is really most labs it will 0.5 to 5.0 00:07:31.55\00:07:37.93 and we decided that, 00:07:37.96\00:07:39.01 that's really too much of a wide range. 00:07:39.04\00:07:41.93 It should be 0.3 to 3.0 in a more optimum range. 00:07:41.96\00:07:46.16 And your range were like, 00:07:46.19\00:07:47.68 I think its eight or something like that, yeah. 00:07:47.71\00:07:50.61 So what happened as far as you can tell 00:07:50.64\00:07:52.10 because we didn't go with the Synthroid. 00:07:52.13\00:07:54.22 Did you? No. 00:07:54.25\00:07:55.28 You didn't go with the Armour thyroid, 00:07:55.31\00:07:56.97 dry thyroid cell from the pig. 00:07:57.00\00:07:58.83 No. Okay. 00:07:58.86\00:08:00.49 So this-- you began to do some major research. 00:08:00.52\00:08:03.67 And in that research, trying to find an alternative 00:08:03.70\00:08:06.20 because you know, well, one thing about, 00:08:06.23\00:08:07.55 I know for myself and that is that 00:08:07.58\00:08:09.10 when I began taking any kind of drug, 00:08:09.13\00:08:11.22 even aspirin, my body don't like it, okay. 00:08:11.25\00:08:13.57 So with that in mind I'm not ready 00:08:13.60\00:08:15.20 to start on something that's gonna be damaging. 00:08:15.23\00:08:18.06 Okay, so I know the hair and the nails 00:08:18.09\00:08:19.86 and the skin was acting up. 00:08:19.89\00:08:21.03 And now you talked about the hormone issue, 00:08:21.06\00:08:23.17 so that's definitely estrogen, the estrogen test. 00:08:23.20\00:08:24.77 Estrone has either issues that's having to do 00:08:24.80\00:08:26.65 with the hormones, female hormones. 00:08:26.68\00:08:29.64 And so we started looking at all the things 00:08:29.67\00:08:31.97 that are part of helping to keep the thyroid healthy 00:08:32.00\00:08:35.60 and or putting it back into the state 00:08:35.63\00:08:37.95 it needs it to be in so it can function like it needs to. 00:08:37.98\00:08:41.08 So what are some of the things 00:08:41.11\00:08:42.80 you began looking at that need to be in a formula 00:08:42.83\00:08:46.40 that I could actually take and I ask my doctor this. 00:08:46.43\00:08:49.49 Okay, every time I go to a doctor 00:08:49.52\00:08:51.96 and he tell me something 00:08:52.00\00:08:53.15 and he say something is going on. 00:08:53.18\00:08:54.90 I'm always like, let me step back 00:08:54.93\00:08:57.82 and breathe, you know. 00:08:57.85\00:09:00.09 Because there's something about when you step back and breathe 00:09:00.12\00:09:02.09 when someone tells you something, 00:09:02.12\00:09:03.50 that helps you make a better decision 00:09:03.53\00:09:05.36 than to jump automatically when someone says that jump. 00:09:05.39\00:09:07.73 It's true. It's true. 00:09:07.76\00:09:08.80 So I step back and I breathe a little bit there, 00:09:08.83\00:09:11.05 you know, and I breathe some more 00:09:11.08\00:09:12.56 and I began to have some research 00:09:12.59\00:09:13.93 on what type of compounds or bio-identical things 00:09:13.96\00:09:18.35 can we use to see if we can help 00:09:18.38\00:09:20.65 that thyroid get back in place. 00:09:20.68\00:09:23.59 And some are things you did well, 00:09:23.62\00:09:24.93 we're gonna walk through with you today in this program 00:09:24.96\00:09:29.13 because it's very good as far as your number 00:09:29.16\00:09:32.25 has came down from eight to seven to six. 00:09:32.28\00:09:35.31 I think it's right now it's five. 00:09:35.34\00:09:37.30 And some of things that you're doing to form up, 00:09:37.33\00:09:40.09 we're gonna walk through each one of those items 00:09:40.12\00:09:42.90 separately within a next 10 minutes or so. 00:09:42.93\00:09:45.70 Actually, actually, it's not a 5, it's 4.7. 00:09:45.73\00:09:49.01 Oh, that's the latest one. 00:09:49.04\00:09:50.74 4.7. Oh, okay, yeah. 00:09:50.77\00:09:52.10 But you-- you getting in there, all right. 00:09:52.13\00:09:54.34 And not right away, okay. 00:09:54.37\00:09:56.66 It was a gradual process. Yes, gradually. 00:09:56.69\00:09:58.11 We always tell people a lot of time 00:09:58.14\00:09:59.31 when someone is asking us questions about herbs, 00:09:59.34\00:10:01.52 herbal medicine, lifestyle. 00:10:01.55\00:10:03.34 It's not a just all of sudden you do it and it's over. 00:10:03.37\00:10:06.27 You really have to move it into the lifestyle. 00:10:06.30\00:10:09.20 So I would say, over a period of time about, 00:10:09.23\00:10:11.79 can we say at least three or six months 00:10:11.82\00:10:13.79 I was actually doing the formula 00:10:13.82\00:10:15.32 and it made a different when I went back to my doctor. 00:10:15.35\00:10:17.21 Okay. Now so what does she do? 00:10:17.24\00:10:19.28 And what was the formula that we used for her? 00:10:19.31\00:10:22.07 Number one, we talked about thyroid 00:10:22.10\00:10:23.80 and most people know about some of the herbs out there, 00:10:23.83\00:10:28.70 probably the most popular herb when it come to 00:10:28.73\00:10:30.70 under active thyroid is kelp, all right. 00:10:30.73\00:10:33.95 We call that a gift of the sea. So we use that. 00:10:33.98\00:10:38.20 That's one of the main herbs in a formula. 00:10:38.23\00:10:40.15 We're gonna build a formula for you. 00:10:40.18\00:10:42.06 We're gonna walk through each one 00:10:42.09\00:10:43.24 of these items out of formula. 00:10:43.27\00:10:44.68 The first one, how to eat kelp? 00:10:44.71\00:10:45.98 Any formula that doesn't have Kelp has a thyroid formula, 00:10:46.01\00:10:49.64 you know keep it on your shelf. 00:10:49.67\00:10:50.74 So kelp is gonna be one of the main ones. 00:10:50.77\00:10:53.78 Another herb is called bladderwrack, bladder-wrack. 00:10:53.81\00:10:58.56 Has nothing to do with the bladder 00:10:58.59\00:10:59.69 it's just a name of the herb. 00:10:59.72\00:11:01.15 So kelp and bladderwrack those are two herbs, 00:11:01.18\00:11:03.96 they are precursors thyroid hormone, 00:11:03.99\00:11:07.20 kelp and bladderwrack. 00:11:07.23\00:11:08.26 Now the other herb 00:11:08.29\00:11:10.78 that we can include in this formula, 00:11:10.81\00:11:13.28 most people may not have heard off 00:11:13.31\00:11:15.73 and that's the one we're gonna highlight. 00:11:15.76\00:11:17.37 Let's go to screen and see what that herb is 00:11:17.40\00:11:19.48 in addition to the kelp 00:11:19.51\00:11:20.79 and the bladderwrack at this time. 00:11:20.82\00:11:23.25 It's called Ashwagandha root 00:11:23.28\00:11:26.35 and now that's the botanical name in parenthesis. 00:11:26.38\00:11:28.70 Let me read this. 00:11:28.73\00:11:29.76 This is from the Journal of Pharmacy 00:11:29.79\00:11:31.79 and Pharmacology, it says this. 00:11:31.82\00:11:34.40 "This herb has been shown to stimulate 00:11:34.43\00:11:38.18 thyroid activity by," get this now, 00:11:38.21\00:11:41.96 "increasing T4 production and convert T4 to T3." 00:11:41.99\00:11:49.93 Now remember we mentioned that two of the main hormones 00:11:49.96\00:11:53.21 that the thyroid produce is T4 and T3. 00:11:53.24\00:11:58.78 And T4 helps to covert into T3. 00:11:58.81\00:12:02.05 This herb does that from the herbal kingdom 00:12:02.08\00:12:06.04 one of the main herbs that can do that 00:12:06.07\00:12:07.83 in a whole herbal kingdom Ashwagandha. 00:12:07.86\00:12:11.01 So therefore we look at a lot of herbal formulas 00:12:11.04\00:12:13.42 when it comes to thyroid. 00:12:13.45\00:12:15.14 Then we're talking about hypo. 00:12:15.17\00:12:16.46 Okay, we gone missing hyper before we close. 00:12:16.49\00:12:19.49 Then kelp needs to be there, 00:12:19.52\00:12:21.97 bladderwrack needs to be there, also Ashwagandha 00:12:22.00\00:12:26.88 that's another herb too needs to be there. 00:12:26.91\00:12:29.30 And sometimes you have other herbs out there as well 00:12:29.33\00:12:31.35 but those are kind of like the top three, 00:12:31.38\00:12:33.30 there's maybe others we can mention as well 00:12:33.33\00:12:35.44 but just want to get a idea 00:12:35.47\00:12:36.59 of what to look for in your health food store 00:12:36.62\00:12:39.72 when you're looking for some type of a thyroid formula 00:12:39.75\00:12:42.74 from a natural standpoint, herbal standpoint at first 00:12:42.77\00:12:46.02 they has no side effects, so that's one of those. 00:12:46.05\00:12:48.75 So you want to make sure 00:12:48.78\00:12:49.81 those three are present in the actual formula itself. 00:12:49.84\00:12:51.62 Yes. Yes. Okay, okay. 00:12:51.65\00:12:54.00 Well, I guess my next question then, we talked about that. 00:12:54.03\00:12:58.66 What about another food item like-- 00:12:58.69\00:13:01.43 I've been hearing a lot also about selenium. 00:13:01.46\00:13:03.92 And now, is selenium a part of my supplemental thing 00:13:03.95\00:13:07.25 or is that something separate? 00:13:07.28\00:13:10.33 You're so pretty. 00:13:10.36\00:13:11.86 I just lost my train of thought. 00:13:11.89\00:13:13.40 Oh, yes, selenium is good. 00:13:13.43\00:13:15.86 It's a mineral and it's very good. 00:13:15.89\00:13:17.95 Now selenium is very good because number one, 00:13:17.98\00:13:21.31 Selenium has the highest thyroid gland. 00:13:21.34\00:13:24.76 It has the highest amount of selenium, the thyroid gland. 00:13:24.79\00:13:30.58 So it seems to reason that selenium should be 00:13:30.61\00:13:33.20 apart of a thyroid formula 00:13:33.23\00:13:36.32 since the thyroid has more selenium 00:13:36.35\00:13:38.42 than other gland in the body. 00:13:38.45\00:13:41.27 So having said that, let's go to the screen. 00:13:41.30\00:13:44.88 Let's talk about selenium. 00:13:44.91\00:13:46.59 So let's go to the screen at this time. 00:13:46.62\00:13:48.36 The Selenium's Impact. 00:13:48.39\00:13:49.55 This is from the Clinical Endocrinology. 00:13:49.58\00:13:52.60 It says this. 00:13:52.63\00:13:54.00 "Patients with Hashimoto's disease," 00:13:54.03\00:13:56.64 that's the type of hypothyroidism 00:13:56.67\00:14:00.25 "selenium decreases anti-thyroid antibody levels 00:14:00.28\00:14:04.91 and improves the ultrasound structure 00:14:04.94\00:14:08.28 of the thyroid gland." 00:14:08.31\00:14:10.67 Therefore this mineral selenium really needs to be 00:14:10.70\00:14:13.94 a part of some type of with thyroid formula 00:14:13.97\00:14:17.22 because that's the mineral, 00:14:17.25\00:14:18.49 that's more present in the thyroid 00:14:18.52\00:14:20.26 than any other gland, selenium. 00:14:20.29\00:14:22.20 So now we're building a case, a formula for thyroid. 00:14:22.23\00:14:26.67 We had a kelp, we've the bladderwrack, 00:14:26.70\00:14:30.30 Ashwagandha, the mineral selenium. 00:14:30.33\00:14:34.07 I want to add one more. 00:14:34.10\00:14:35.64 There's one called-- it's the amino acid 00:14:35.67\00:14:38.06 that the body naturally produces 00:14:38.09\00:14:39.45 is called L-thyroxine, L-thyroxine. 00:14:39.48\00:14:45.61 The body naturally produces this. 00:14:45.64\00:14:47.29 Okay. 00:14:47.32\00:14:48.35 It converts into, get this, T4 and T3. 00:14:48.38\00:14:53.74 So the body naturally builds this. 00:14:53.77\00:14:55.16 So therefore we want to put in that 00:14:55.19\00:14:57.52 as part of the formula too. 00:14:57.55\00:14:59.16 So we look at any formula, you will see probably kelp, 00:14:59.19\00:15:03.53 bladderwrack, Ashwagandha, selenium, L-thyroxine. 00:15:03.56\00:15:10.39 That is the good formula for the thyroid. 00:15:10.42\00:15:13.60 Now let's look at the food for the thyroid. 00:15:13.63\00:15:16.10 For selenium and then we're gonna 00:15:16.13\00:15:17.35 close out with a hyperthyroidism. 00:15:17.38\00:15:19.10 So let's go to the foods. 00:15:19.13\00:15:20.48 Well, food contain a lot of selenium. 00:15:20.51\00:15:22.02 Where number one, I mean, number two 00:15:22.05\00:15:24.37 is not even close, Brazil nuts. 00:15:24.40\00:15:26.11 We're talking about three ounces, folks. 00:15:26.14\00:15:27.97 We're talking about 544 micrograms 00:15:28.00\00:15:31.67 of selenium in a Brazil nuts. 00:15:31.70\00:15:34.43 We can also add some seeds too. 00:15:34.46\00:15:38.19 And then light, Tuna three ounces, 63, 00:15:38.22\00:15:40.67 you got the Beef, three ounces 35. 00:15:40.70\00:15:42.98 You have the Cod 32. 00:15:43.01\00:15:44.44 So you see there's not really close to the Brazil nuts 00:15:44.47\00:15:48.44 as far as a selenium food is concerned. 00:15:48.47\00:15:51.68 I think there's another seed out there as well. 00:15:51.71\00:15:53.12 Sunflower seeds. 00:15:53.15\00:15:54.18 Sunflower seeds are really up there high in selenium as well. 00:15:54.21\00:15:56.96 So Brazil nuts, sunflower seeds 00:15:56.99\00:16:00.03 also top two right there as far as producing 00:16:00.06\00:16:04.59 health food to have selenium in them. 00:16:04.62\00:16:06.62 So the Brazil nut. 00:16:06.65\00:16:08.44 Now of course, you know, for those individuals 00:16:08.47\00:16:09.78 who are vegetarian and even vegans, 00:16:09.81\00:16:12.17 they are other ones about the beef 00:16:12.20\00:16:13.40 and all the other stuff, that's not even one of them. 00:16:13.43\00:16:14.92 Yeah, we'll see. 00:16:14.95\00:16:16.01 And a matter of fact it doesn't have 00:16:16.04\00:16:17.64 that much in the first place. 00:16:17.67\00:16:18.74 I see that. Like 35, 32 micrograms. 00:16:18.77\00:16:21.05 So it doesn't really have that much of the impact anyway. 00:16:21.08\00:16:23.59 So let's hit then on the hyperthyroidism. 00:16:23.62\00:16:27.02 Let's finish up with the hyper-- 00:16:27.05\00:16:29.24 of course it's not as parvenus as the hypo. 00:16:29.27\00:16:32.48 Hyper of course is over active thyroid. 00:16:32.51\00:16:36.05 You tell that by the typical signs 00:16:36.08\00:16:38.71 of the wide eyes, you know. 00:16:38.74\00:16:41.10 And rapid heart rate, heartbeat. 00:16:41.13\00:16:45.53 You also have sweating. We have weight loss. 00:16:45.56\00:16:50.16 Just a hyper and that's eight to one women. 00:16:50.19\00:16:54.50 Hypo is ten to one. 00:16:54.53\00:16:56.84 So both of these are kind of like 00:16:56.87\00:16:58.26 women dysfunctions, you know, diseases. 00:16:58.29\00:17:01.42 But the hyper is one that's not as parvenus to hypo 00:17:01.45\00:17:04.98 but it's out there as well. 00:17:05.01\00:17:06.42 So there's one herb that really cater to the hyperthyroidism. 00:17:06.45\00:17:12.85 Let's go to screen at this time and see what that herb is. 00:17:12.88\00:17:16.55 It's called Bugleweed. 00:17:16.58\00:17:18.92 Again in parenthesis that's the scientific name. 00:17:18.95\00:17:21.78 This is a find of medical journal called Phytomedicine. 00:17:21.81\00:17:23.96 Is says this, "These findings confirm 00:17:23.99\00:17:28.45 positive effects of bugleweed in forms of hyperthyroidism." 00:17:28.48\00:17:35.52 So again that's one herb 00:17:35.55\00:17:37.07 that can be used for those who are hyper 00:17:37.10\00:17:39.66 because it helps to slowdown the heart rate. 00:17:39.69\00:17:43.92 It's anti-thyroid. 00:17:43.95\00:17:46.63 So it lessens the T4 amount that the body produces. 00:17:46.66\00:17:49.96 So this is one of the main herbs for hyperthyroidism. 00:17:49.99\00:17:55.60 Okay. And mostly no side effects. 00:17:55.63\00:17:57.83 Again you can get that 00:17:57.86\00:17:58.95 as any major health food stores as well. 00:17:58.98\00:18:02.60 Okay, well, that's a lot of information. 00:18:02.63\00:18:03.90 And I'm sure is that they are gonna ask the question. 00:18:03.93\00:18:06.55 Somebody is gonna call us up and say, 00:18:06.58\00:18:08.12 could you give me more information on that? 00:18:08.15\00:18:09.36 So you know, once again feel free 00:18:09.39\00:18:11.15 to get a hold of us at abundantlivingtv.org 00:18:11.18\00:18:13.62 and we'll be glad to talk more with you about this subject. 00:18:13.65\00:18:16.32 I know you're asking a question so we close the time. 00:18:16.35\00:18:18.33 Is she gonna cook anything? 00:18:18.36\00:18:19.47 Yes, we are going into the kitchen. 00:18:19.50\00:18:21.46 This time we're gonna do a black soybean salsa. 00:18:21.49\00:18:25.56 And we're gonna do our homemade tortilla chips. 00:18:25.59\00:18:27.92 So get your paper and your pencil 00:18:27.95\00:18:30.08 and meet us in the kitchen. 00:18:30.11\00:18:31.84
