Okay. 00:01:19.62\00:01:23.35 Safety, price, their impact on diabetes, 00:01:23.38\00:01:28.38 their impact on cardiovascular disease 00:01:28.41\00:01:30.83 and also impact on weight loss, short term and long term. 00:01:30.86\00:01:34.29 And they grouped all 25 diets based on those parameters. 00:01:34.32\00:01:37.50 And so--but again, you know you have all kinds of diets 00:01:37.53\00:01:40.75 on the list, of course. 00:01:40.78\00:01:42.70 The Atkins diet, the raw food diet, 00:01:42.73\00:01:45.75 the Mediterranean diet, the Slim-Fast, 00:01:45.78\00:01:47.74 the Weight Watchers, the DASH, 00:01:47.77\00:01:49.25 the TLC, therapeutic lifestyle changes, Slim-Fast. 00:01:49.28\00:01:54.95 So many diets out there and-- but these are experts. 00:01:54.98\00:01:59.25 But they left out two experts that were not even included 00:01:59.28\00:02:02.87 in determining the best diets. 00:02:02.90\00:02:05.07 So that's amazing to me and we're going to be talking 00:02:05.10\00:02:06.95 about those two experts as well. 00:02:06.98\00:02:08.79 But before we do that we're going to-- 00:02:08.82\00:02:11.21 this is going to be a series folks, 00:02:11.24\00:02:13.08 a series of the eight natural remedies. 00:02:13.11\00:02:18.70 Now we as Seventh-day Adventist Christians, 00:02:18.73\00:02:20.79 most Christians know of that the seven-- 00:02:20.82\00:02:23.97 I mean, the eight natural remedies 00:02:24.00\00:02:26.27 and these are lifestyle principals. 00:02:26.30\00:02:28.34 And some people-- this may be new to some. 00:02:28.37\00:02:31.02 And so to remember those eight natural remedies-- 00:02:31.05\00:02:35.03 this going to be a series for the next several weeks. 00:02:35.06\00:02:37.62 Honey, let's talk about those eight natural remedies 00:02:37.65\00:02:39.56 and I think there's an acronym to help us 00:02:39.59\00:02:42.02 to remember those eight natural remedies. 00:02:42.05\00:02:43.61 Let's talk about that. 00:02:43.64\00:02:45.01 Well, you know, it's been said a quite a bit 00:02:45.04\00:02:47.20 about these eight natural laws. 00:02:47.23\00:02:48.60 And we call them laws or eight natural principles 00:02:48.63\00:02:50.99 or eight natural doctors, 00:02:51.02\00:02:52.82 but the whole theory is a term called 'New Start.' Okay. 00:02:52.85\00:02:56.83 Now that's a easy way to remember it. 00:02:56.86\00:02:58.46 Of course, my understanding is there was a gentleman 00:02:58.49\00:03:00.63 who was having a hard time trying to remember them, 00:03:00.66\00:03:02.68 come from the book of Ministry of Healing. 00:03:02.71\00:03:04.56 And he had a hard time trying to remember the concept 00:03:04.59\00:03:06.70 and so that New Start was coined by him. Okay. 00:03:06.73\00:03:09.41 The 'N' stands for nutrition 00:03:09.44\00:03:11.45 and the 'E' stands for exercise. 00:03:11.48\00:03:14.15 The 'W' stands for water. 00:03:14.18\00:03:16.48 The 'S' stands for sunshine. 00:03:16.51\00:03:19.24 The 'T' stands for temperance. 00:03:19.27\00:03:21.51 The 'A' stands for air. 00:03:21.54\00:03:23.66 The 'R' stands for rest 00:03:23.69\00:03:25.89 and the 'T' stands for trust in divine guidance. 00:03:25.92\00:03:30.10 Now, Curtis, are you saying we're going to be going 00:03:30.13\00:03:32.15 through this whole eight natural principles. That's right. 00:04:03.06\00:04:04.54 So we got to make sure that we keep that one there, 00:04:04.57\00:04:07.10 where it is--although it is through God in Himself 00:04:07.13\00:04:09.97 that could actually help us get through. 00:04:10.00\00:04:11.53 Talking about those diets-- Yeah. 00:04:11.56\00:04:13.06 You said, there were two experts that was left out of the 25. 00:04:13.09\00:04:18.09 They were simply ignored, the two experts. 00:04:18.12\00:04:21.22 And so one of the experts that was not consulted 00:04:21.25\00:04:24.88 in determining these diets overall is God's word. Oh. 00:04:24.91\00:04:30.41 God Himself. I mean, He was not even included. Okay. 00:04:30.44\00:04:34.11 And it seem to reason that God should have been included 00:04:34.14\00:04:36.82 in consulting the Word of God 00:04:36.85\00:04:38.77 as far as the best diet for mankind, 00:04:38.80\00:04:41.89 because God created our bodies. 00:04:41.92\00:04:44.49 So it seems to reason that He would know 00:04:44.52\00:04:46.63 what's best food for our bodies, but He wasn't even consulted, 00:04:46.66\00:04:50.42 wasn't even looked at as far as God's word is concern. 00:04:50.45\00:04:53.74 Well, I think that that's kind of important point right there, 00:04:53.77\00:04:56.04 because when you think about God being a creative God 00:04:56.07\00:04:59.73 actually in the first book of the Bible. That's right. 00:04:59.76\00:05:02.38 In the Book of Genesis, Genesis 1:29, 00:05:02.41\00:05:05.55 I mean, He didn't even go that far down. 00:05:05.58\00:05:07.00 He started right in 29, He gets the whole world together, 00:05:07.03\00:05:09.74 the sun, the moon, the stars and the ocean, 00:05:09.77\00:05:11.93 everything is set in place. 00:05:11.96\00:05:13.57 All the stuff that we needed, then He puts us here. 00:05:13.60\00:05:16.06 And then that diet is sitting right there in Genesis 1:29. 00:05:16.09\00:05:19.05 Okay. And God speaks about that diet. 00:05:19.08\00:05:22.29 When it wasn't that really a big deal, 00:05:22.32\00:05:24.34 He could have put it in Psalms or Revelation, 00:05:24.37\00:05:26.27 but He puts it in the very first book of the Bible. That's right. 00:05:26.30\00:05:29.72 I think we should go and read that. 00:05:29.75\00:05:31.30 Oh, right now. 00:05:31.33\00:05:32.70 Oh, I think it's a good idea. Let's go and see this verse. 00:05:32.73\00:05:34.10 Okay. Well, let's go and do it right now 00:05:34.13\00:05:35.57 because-- yes Genesis 1:29. 00:05:35.60\00:05:38.11 Again like my wife said. 00:05:38.14\00:05:39.75 And again as we go through this series, folks 00:05:39.78\00:05:41.95 we're going to be walking through God's word. 00:05:41.98\00:05:44.36 So we encourage you to have your Bibles ready 00:05:44.39\00:05:46.95 or at least have a pen and a paper 00:05:46.98\00:05:49.32 to jot some of these texts down. 00:05:49.35\00:05:50.87 We're going to use God's word as our standard of truth 00:05:50.90\00:05:54.09 and healthful living is without exception. 00:05:54.12\00:05:57.31 So God's word is very efficacious for that. 00:05:57.34\00:06:00.57 The Bible says in Genesis 1:29, 00:06:00.60\00:06:04.51 "And God said, Behold, I have given you 00:06:04.54\00:06:07.12 every herb bearing seed, 00:06:07.15\00:06:10.41 which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree, 00:06:10.44\00:06:14.21 in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed 00:06:14.24\00:06:20.67 and to you it shall be for meat." All right. 00:06:20.70\00:06:25.30 Now the word meat here in the Hebrew mean food, 00:06:25.33\00:06:28.79 because in this text there's no meat mentioned. Yes. 00:06:28.82\00:06:32.03 So when we see the word meat, 00:06:32.06\00:06:33.51 it's talking about food or what we should eat. 00:06:33.54\00:06:36.48 So therefore the herb bearing seed and the fruit of the trees. 00:06:36.51\00:06:39.08 So we've a saying that goes something like this, 00:06:39.11\00:06:41.68 "I am going to enjoy the fruit of my labor." 00:06:41.71\00:06:46.29 It doesn't mean that I am going to enjoy apples and oranges. 00:06:46.32\00:06:48.63 I am going to enjoy the product of my labor. 00:06:48.66\00:06:51.43 So a tree produces more than just fruit, 00:06:51.46\00:06:54.07 what a tree produces more than just fruit also nuts as well, 00:06:54.10\00:06:59.02 so again, nuts and fruits etcetera. 00:06:59.05\00:07:01.43 And so now that's before sinned. 00:07:01.46\00:07:04.28 Now honey, when sin entered into to the world. 00:07:04.31\00:07:07.59 God added something to that diet and this is Genesis 3:18. 00:07:07.62\00:07:12.53 The Bible says, "And thou shall eat 00:07:12.56\00:07:14.19 the herb of the field." 00:07:14.22\00:07:17.97 Now we're talking about the plant kingdom, the legumes, 00:07:18.00\00:07:21.56 the whole grains and the vegetable kingdom. 00:07:21.59\00:07:24.42 So with these two again, this is actually man's best diet. 00:07:24.45\00:07:32.23 Found in Genesis, the first book of the Bible, 00:07:32.26\00:07:35.10 the first chapter of the Bible and then after sin of course, 00:07:35.13\00:07:37.67 Chapter 3 in verse 18. 00:07:37.70\00:07:40.36 People who espouse on this diet 00:07:40.39\00:07:43.93 are the healthiest and longest living people on planet earth. 00:07:43.96\00:07:49.64 God's original diet, diet number one. 00:07:49.67\00:07:51.19 So we've got God's original diet, number one. 00:07:51.22\00:07:53.95 But you said, there was two experts. 00:07:53.98\00:07:56.23 So therefore there's another expert. 00:07:56.26\00:07:58.13 There's another expert. Yes. 00:07:58.16\00:07:59.53 Okay, and this expert was not even consulted as well. Okay. 00:07:59.56\00:08:03.36 Just left this expert out as well. 00:08:03.39\00:08:05.38 This expert, lot of you may not have heard of this author. 00:08:05.41\00:08:10.08 She is a prolific author, wrote many volumes 00:08:10.11\00:08:13.04 on health and healthful living. 00:08:13.07\00:08:14.97 And according to the Library of Congress in Washington D.C. 00:08:15.00\00:08:18.61 this author is the most translated author 00:08:18.64\00:08:21.19 in United States, second in the world. 00:08:21.22\00:08:24.48 As a matter of fact, this author is so prolific 00:08:24.51\00:08:27.19 that Paul Harvey, the radio icon dedicated an entire hour 00:08:27.22\00:08:32.24 of his programming talking about this author 00:08:32.27\00:08:34.92 and how she wrote many volumes on health and healthful living. 00:08:34.95\00:08:38.79 This author's name is Ellen G. White. 00:08:38.82\00:08:41.29 And so through this series of the eight natural remedies, 00:08:41.32\00:08:45.02 we're going to be using these two references, 00:08:45.05\00:08:47.55 these two experts. 00:08:47.58\00:08:49.43 God's word, number 1 00:08:49.46\00:08:51.53 and then author Ellen G. White, number 2. 00:08:51.56\00:08:54.36 And then we're going to-- appropriate we'll be also using 00:08:54.39\00:08:57.10 some clinical studies as well to go, 00:08:57.13\00:08:59.69 walk you through these eight natural remedies. 00:08:59.72\00:09:03.78 So God's word is sure, because the Bible says, 00:09:03.81\00:09:06.56 "Whether we eat or drink or whatever we do, 00:09:06.59\00:09:11.14 do all to the glory of God." 00:09:11.17\00:09:14.49 Well, you talked about these two experts 00:09:14.52\00:09:16.26 and now there's a question, of course, 00:09:16.29\00:09:18.02 I notice someone got this question, 00:09:18.05\00:09:19.42 so exactly then what are the three diets? 00:09:19.45\00:09:22.52 Okay, so we mentioned one already, 00:09:22.55\00:09:24.98 because we kind of went first one first. 00:09:25.01\00:09:27.61 So the first diet is the best diet. 00:09:27.64\00:09:29.99 All right. All right. 00:09:30.02\00:09:31.39 Genesis 1:29 and Genesis 3:18, that's the best diet. 00:09:31.42\00:09:34.67 That diet has zero cholesterol, zero saturated fat 00:09:34.70\00:09:40.89 and practically zero trans-fatty acids. 00:09:40.92\00:09:43.84 That diet has a lots of fiber, the carbohydrates, 00:09:43.87\00:09:47.98 unrefined the foods and vegetables in that kingdom. 00:09:48.01\00:09:51.15 People who espouse on that particular diet 00:09:51.18\00:09:54.89 are the longest living people on planet earth. 00:09:54.92\00:09:57.24 Now there's two other diets as well. 00:09:57.27\00:09:59.50 Let's go to Leviticus 11 because remember now, 00:09:59.53\00:10:05.61 when God created this world 00:10:05.64\00:10:08.34 and after while He saw that He had created the world, 00:10:08.37\00:10:10.98 because the world was so corrupted and evil. 00:10:11.01\00:10:14.16 So He destroyed the world by a flood 00:10:14.19\00:10:16.51 and he told Noah and his eight people to go into the ark 00:10:16.54\00:10:20.53 to be safe from the waters. 00:10:20.56\00:10:23.05 God know that the waters would destroy all the vegetation, 00:10:23.08\00:10:26.65 so after they got out of ark, 00:10:26.68\00:10:28.60 there would be nothing to eat. Right. 00:10:28.63\00:10:30.00 So God told Noah, taken into the ark 00:10:30.03\00:10:33.39 the clean and the unclean. 00:10:33.42\00:10:37.46 Those are two other diets, clean and unclean. 00:10:37.49\00:10:41.12 These are animals. 00:10:41.15\00:10:42.52 These are animals, right. All right. 00:10:42.55\00:10:43.92 So the clean went into the ark by-- Sevens. 00:10:43.95\00:10:47.89 And the unclean went in ark by-- Twos. 00:10:47.92\00:10:51.01 Therefore it must be that God did not intent for man 00:10:51.04\00:10:55.11 to eat the unclean. 00:10:55.14\00:10:57.99 Otherwise if you ate one of the two, 00:10:58.02\00:11:00.92 then that animal species would be simply wiped out. 00:11:00.95\00:11:05.98 Okay, now, now you got that seven clean and two unclean. 00:11:06.01\00:11:09.35 'Cause most people think, people in the ark-- 00:11:09.38\00:11:11.81 I mean, the animals went to ark by two. 00:11:11.84\00:11:13.31 I know, I know, you always say that. 00:11:13.34\00:11:14.85 You know, they forget about the seven. 00:11:14.88\00:11:16.25 Yeah. You got to read the word. 00:11:16.28\00:11:17.65 Yeah, that's right. 00:11:17.68\00:11:19.05 Okay. Now of the unclean, why the unclean? 00:11:19.08\00:11:22.46 Okay, the unclean, and let's define 00:11:22.49\00:11:24.24 what is unclean and what's clean. 00:11:24.27\00:11:25.67 And the Bible describes what is clean and what is unclean, 00:11:25.70\00:11:28.33 there's a list here. 00:11:28.36\00:11:29.75 And we are going to go now to Leviticus 11 00:11:29.78\00:11:33.17 and we're going to look at verse, let's look at verse 3. 00:11:33.20\00:11:37.36 "Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and cheweth the cud, 00:11:37.39\00:11:41.42 among the beasts, that shall ye eat." 00:11:41.45\00:11:44.72 These are the cleans. 00:11:44.75\00:11:46.12 So they have to have two things, a parteth the hoof, 00:11:46.15\00:11:48.82 a cheweth the cud. 00:11:48.85\00:11:50.31 So it's as a cow, all right? 00:11:50.34\00:11:52.33 You see the cow just chewing. Yes. 00:11:52.36\00:11:54.18 Cow has three stomachs and goes back up 00:11:54.21\00:11:56.52 and the food comes back up and chews again, 00:11:56.55\00:11:58.36 that's chewing the cud. 00:11:58.39\00:11:59.76 All right. That's clean. 00:11:59.79\00:12:01.16 And they have here something that does not cheweth the cud 00:12:01.19\00:12:05.25 or does not parteth the hoof that is unclean. 00:12:05.28\00:12:09.76 And one in particular we're going to zero 00:12:09.79\00:12:11.21 in is the swine, verse 7. 00:12:11.24\00:12:14.38 "And the swine, though he divide the hoof, 00:12:14.41\00:12:17.61 and be cloven footed, yet he cheweth not the cud, 00:12:17.64\00:12:21.55 he is unclean unto you." 00:12:21.58\00:12:24.90 So the swine is singled out as something that's unclean 00:12:24.93\00:12:28.05 and that's one of the many animals, honey, 00:12:28.08\00:12:30.43 that a lot of people take into the system. 00:12:30.46\00:12:33.61 The swine, the pork. 00:12:33.64\00:12:35.25 Or just in case somebody might say, 00:12:35.28\00:12:37.12 "Well, what's the swine?" That swine is the pig. 00:12:37.15\00:12:39.63 Yeah, pig. Just in case. Yeah, it's a pig. 00:12:39.66\00:12:42.37 Just in case. Just in case. 00:12:42.40\00:12:43.77 Now, now, now so he's unclean. 00:12:43.80\00:12:46.64 He's unclean to us because he's a scavenger. 00:12:46.67\00:12:49.72 That's right. Okay. 00:12:49.75\00:12:51.62 So being a scavenger means 00:12:51.65\00:12:53.40 he's actually eating up all the stuff. 00:12:53.43\00:12:56.14 What is it about that pig, that swine that so-- 00:12:56.17\00:12:59.71 Well, okay the thing about that is-- 00:12:59.74\00:13:01.51 and let me turn to one more text here 00:13:01.54\00:13:03.14 because this is really profound as well. Okay. 00:13:03.17\00:13:05.11 I am going to look at Isaiah 66:17. 00:13:05.14\00:13:09.35 This is a profound text, Isaiah 66:17, 00:13:09.38\00:13:14.26 "Eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, 00:13:14.29\00:13:18.08 and the mouse, shall be consumed together, 00:13:18.11\00:13:21.40 saith the Lord." 00:13:21.43\00:13:23.25 God singles out the swine, 00:13:23.28\00:13:25.58 pork as being unclean among other things as well. 00:13:25.61\00:13:28.25 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Let me understand. 00:13:28.28\00:13:29.78 Let me explain to you why God singles out the swine. 00:13:29.81\00:13:32.37 Number one, like I said before the cow has three stomachs. 00:13:32.40\00:13:36.76 The swine, the pig has one stomach 00:13:36.79\00:13:40.48 and that stomach is poorly constructed, number 1. 00:13:40.51\00:13:45.39 And number 2, the habitant of a swine, 00:13:45.42\00:13:48.92 it has lice and it has different types of worm, 00:13:48.95\00:13:52.80 the kidney worm, the large round worm. 00:13:52.83\00:13:57.78 It has at least 13 parasites. 00:13:57.81\00:14:01.23 And not only that, we need to understand that 00:14:01.26\00:14:04.02 for our bodies to function very well, it needs blood. 00:14:04.05\00:14:09.41 And blood sends the nutrients to different organs 00:14:09.44\00:14:11.45 and glands in the body, 00:14:11.48\00:14:12.85 so that these organs and glands can function properly. 00:14:12.88\00:14:16.01 So what type of blood then does a swine have? 00:14:16.04\00:14:19.59 Well, that's the question, let's go to our first graphic 00:14:19.62\00:14:21.72 and let's see what type of blood does the swine gives us. 00:14:21.75\00:14:26.07 The worst diet, "Swine's flesh above all other flesh meats, 00:14:26.10\00:14:31.68 produces a bad state of blood. 00:14:31.71\00:14:35.58 The tissues swarm with parasites." 00:14:35.61\00:14:39.15 Again coming from this author Ellen White, 00:14:39.18\00:14:41.70 page 392 of Counsels on Diets and Health. 00:14:41.73\00:14:43.95 So again, swine's flesh 00:14:43.98\00:14:46.71 is in the worst diet category, all right. 00:14:46.74\00:14:49.11 And of course the other diet is the clean foods. 00:14:49.14\00:14:52.14 The clean foods are better than the worst diet, 00:14:52.17\00:14:55.00 you know, the swine and other things as well, 00:14:55.03\00:14:57.84 but the clean foods also has cholesterol, beef, chicken, 00:14:57.87\00:15:02.64 you know, etcetera, turkey. 00:15:02.67\00:15:04.90 It also has saturated fat, it also has carcinogens. 00:15:04.93\00:15:09.34 So these diets also, the clean and the unclean 00:15:09.37\00:15:14.50 both are not the best.
