that there is a tremendous

amount of alcoholism
in these villages. Yes.

So, I mean, the poverty
rate in these villages is very,

very high.

And so a lot of the men drink,
they drink, they come home.

And what do they do?

They beat the wife.

They beat their wife.

police don't stop them.

So they're saying that the
girls are married to young.

So basically
they're young and dumb

because they don't want
them to go on to school. Right.

And then they get into
this cycle of, of of everything.

So girl could be married young
and and what'll happen sometimes

is, is the family
would just have a party

and not tell the
girl what's going on.

And during this party.

What during this
party, this other family

country of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh is about the size
of the state of Wisconsin, but

half the population

of the entire United States.

Most people in

Bangladesh are Muslim,
but there are also many Hindus

and Buddhists as well.

But less than 1%
of the population,

according to the
government, is Christian.

Now. Gospel Outreach
supports many workers

throughout the
country of Bangladesh,

but one of those workers in
particular, his name is Tapon.

Now Tapon lives in a
very challenging area

where for eight
months out of the year,

the land is completely
flooded for rice paddy fields.

People here

rely on growing rice and selling
dried fish to make a living.

Rice and fish are also the main
food for everyone in this area,

whether it be two meals
a day, three meals a day.

All they're eating
mainly is rice and fish.

The only way to
get around in this area

of the year is by boat

When the water is low,
people can walk to the church,

the only way to get to
this church is by boat.

While serving the community

noticed a big problem.

Many children who
desire a better education

have to travel miles by boat

nearest government school.

This journey is really far too
difficult for young children,
