No 00:08:47.76\00:08:49.89 I was born and brought up in a very strong 00:08:49.92\00:08:54.00 Hindu family in eastern part of Nepal. 00:08:54.40\00:08:57.47 It is a mountain village. 00:08:57.90\00:08:59.73 And we had a very, very hard life 00:08:59.77\00:09:04.64 because we didn't have 00:09:05.81\00:09:08.34 any modern transportations. 00:09:08.38\00:09:11.28 All this communication and nothing was there. 00:09:11.31\00:09:15.42 And my grandfather was a very strong 00:09:15.82\00:09:18.89 Hindu, 00:09:20.32\00:09:21.86 and we're from priesthood family. 00:09:21.89\00:09:24.33 So he was a priest? 00:09:26.26\00:09:27.73 Yeah. 00:09:27.76\00:09:28.60 And every morning and evening 00:09:28.63\00:09:31.67 he would perform a ritual and He would chant, 00:09:31.70\00:09:36.10 mantras, and do some pujas. 00:09:36.50\00:09:40.24 And before 00:09:41.14\00:09:42.88 eating. 00:09:42.91\00:09:44.15 And he was 00:09:44.18\00:09:47.25 training me also in that line. 00:09:48.72\00:09:51.75 But God had a different plan. 00:09:53.09\00:09:55.06 And when did you first learn about Jesus? 00:09:55.09\00:09:57.96 When I was 00:09:57.99\00:10:00.16 doing my 00:10:00.20\00:10:02.70 11th grade 00:10:02.73\00:10:04.80 and in the city, I. 00:10:04.83\00:10:07.50 Somebody 00:10:07.54\00:10:10.14 gave me an address of this, 00:10:10.17\00:10:13.11 one of the Bible correspondence schools. 00:10:13.14\00:10:16.24 And it was when I enrolled in that 00:10:17.51\00:10:20.38 and it was a health lesson for students. 00:10:20.42\00:10:23.79 And after I completed my health, maybe 15 or 20 lessons, 00:10:24.89\00:10:29.46 then they started sending me that religious alone 00:10:29.49\00:10:33.46 lessons. 00:10:34.93\00:10:36.43 I completed that that course, 00:10:36.46\00:10:39.53 and then I didn't pay much attention. 00:10:40.04\00:10:43.00 Then I moved to Kathmandu. 00:10:43.04\00:10:45.54 And but that was the beginning 00:10:45.57\00:10:48.64 for me to know a little bit about 00:10:49.01\00:10:52.48 Christ and Bible. 00:10:53.75\00:10:55.28 So have you heard anything about Jesus in your village at all 00:10:55.32\00:10:58.69 before then? 00:10:58.72\00:10:59.39 No, nothing. So. 00:10:59.42\00:11:00.79 You were in 11th grade. 00:11:00.82\00:11:02.52 And when you finally heard about. 00:11:02.56\00:11:04.23 About Jesus. Yeah. 00:11:04.26\00:11:05.79 So as we talk about 00:11:05.83\00:11:07.23 where you have come from and then what you're doing now. 00:11:07.23\00:11:10.70 Share with us about the Gospel O 00:11:11.23\00:11:14.74 and some of the 00:11:14.77\00:11:15.90 challenges that they face just getting to their churches 00:11:15.94\00:11:18.94 with the the roads and the difficulty. 00:11:19.47\00:11:23.11 But tell us a little bit about your Gospel Outreach workers. 00:11:23.75\00:11:26.82 Gospel Outreach has been 00:11:27.28\00:11:29.45 a great support for our work in Nepal 00:11:29.48\00:11:32.55 without Gospel Outreach, support 00:11:33.76\00:11:36.76 I don't think God's work would move. Yes 00:12:56.10\00:13:00.68 Or lack of facilities. Yes, lack of facilities. 00:13:01.68\00:13:04.81 beyond beyond our imagination because those who are living in 00:13:05.01\00:13:08.65 them in us are either double of country 00:13:08.68\00:13:11.85 and they would not have 00:13:12.35\00:13:14.82 imagine how bad situation. 00:13:14.86\00:13:18.33 Well, and I want to say that that that is what our goal is 00:13:18.46\00:13:22.40 here at Gospel Outreach 00:13:22.43\00:13:23.70 is to share with our viewers 00:13:23.73\00:13:25.90 what these Gospel Outreach worke 00:13:25.93\00:13:28.64 and the and the challenges that they face. 00:13:28.67\00:13:31.34 But with the power of God 00:13:31.37\00:13:33.17 and through the support of our Gospel Outreach donors, 00:13:33.21\00:13:36.58 these dear people like Singermen are able to go out there. 00:13:36.95\00:13:40.08 And I've seen a little bit like I shared, 00:13:40.12\00:13:41.92 having been at the base camp of Mt. 00:13:41.95\00:13:43.42 Everest, but not only difficulty getting there, 00:13:43.45\00:13:46.42 but what happens if our Gospel Outreach workers 00:13:46.45\00:13:49.76 are they rejected like you were with your family? 00:13:49.79\00:13:52.36 Yeah, many times, many places, because of, 00:13:52.39\00:13:56.10 you know, when the Gospel Outrea 00:13:56.36\00:13:59.47 when they go when take and they take the gospel 00:13:59.50\00:14:02.80 to another village. Yes, they work through the 00:14:02.84\00:14:06.54 the relation. Okay. 00:14:06.94\00:14:08.08 If you have someone related to you in another village, 00:14:08.11\00:14:11.91 they try to go to that relation and a friendship also, 00:14:12.31\00:14:15.78 Relationship, Yes. 00:14:15.82\00:14:16.89 Yes. And many times our Gospel Outreach volunteers 00:14:16.92\00:14:21.16 were rejected by people because they think 00:14:21.19\00:14:24.76 that they are trying. 00:14:25.86\00:14:27.00 We are trying to invade. 00:14:27.03\00:14:28.80 Yes. They're a threat 00:14:28.83\00:14:30.60 to trade for them because people know that 00:14:30.63\00:14:33.74 some groups are coming in our country. 00:14:35.44\00:14:37.31 And so I can see 00:14:37.34\00:14:39.07 they are telling the they want to protect their culture. Yes. 00:14:39.11\00:14:43.24 And they want to protect their religion. 00:14:43.28\00:14:45.71 Yes. Identity. 00:14:45.75\00:14:47.05 And they think they're, 00:14:47.08\00:14:48.65 when we became a Christian, we lose our right. 00:14:48.68\00:14:51.49 Then everything else goes, yeah, but that is not true. 00:14:51.52\00:14:54.59 And everybody has a right to choose 00:14:54.76\00:14:57.83 and people live in our country in very deep darkness 00:14:58.36\00:15:02.56 without hope. socially. 00:15:03.16\00:15:06.10 People are depressed, mentally depressed, financially, 00:15:06.13\00:15:09.80 they are very weak, and they don't see the hope. 00:15:10.07\00:15:13.98 And the only the when we tell them about Christ 00:15:14.41\00:15:19.88 and the hope in Christ, if we can tell our people, 00:15:19.91\00:15:22.98 take the gospel, everlasting gospel 00:15:23.02\00:15:26.09 to the people, those who live in deep darkness without hope, 00:15:26.39\00:15:30.49 that will give them hope to live And Gospel Outreach. 00:15:31.53\00:15:34.76 volunteer are the agents. The agents for the hope. 00:15:34.83\00:15:39.17 And they take that, 00:15:39.20\00:15:40.00 good news 00:15:40.04\00:15:43.04 to the people in dark place. 00:15:43.07\00:15:46.11 So it's like a switch goes off and somebody. 00:15:46.14\00:15:48.48 Is that right? 00:15:48.51\00:15:49.31 That that 00:15:49.34\00:15:50.31 when you don't have hope, but you have someone 00:15:50.35\00:15:52.45 who is coming to give you good news. 00:15:52.48\00:15:54.22 Yeah, there's hope. 00:15:54.25\00:15:55.42 And have you seen that with the with the people in Nepal? 00:15:55.45\00:15:58.22 Yeah, I have seen an experienced 00:15:58.25\00:16:00.69 I have seen and experienced 00:16:00.72\00:16:03.19 this hope how and Gospel Outreac workers 00:16:03.22\00:16:08.00 have transformed this hope to other people 00:16:08.03\00:16:11.77 and their lives has been transformed. 00:16:11.80\00:16:13.50 Yeah, that's what biblical hope is. 00:16:13.54\00:16:16.37 The expectation that something is good 00:16:16.40\00:16:18.94 is going to happen from God 00:16:18.97\00:16:20.54 and through us to somebody else. Yes. 00:16:20.58\00:16:23.04 So in Matthew 28, the Great Commission, 00:16:23.08\00:16:26.01 tell me about what that means to the people of Nepal, 00:16:26.05\00:16:29.18 who God says it is for everyone. 00:16:29.75\00:16:31.72 Go and tell. Go. 00:16:31.75\00:16:33.22 every place, 00:16:34.49\00:16:35.86 every nation means we'll all part of Nepal 00:16:35.89\00:16:39.23 and tell them what about Jesus Tell them. 00:16:39.79\00:16:43.16 about Jesus, 00:16:43.20\00:16:45.33 Jesus, is the hope 00:16:45.37\00:16:47.37 for people they don't know. 00:16:47.40\00:16:49.37 That Jesus loves 00:16:49.40\00:16:51.61 all people of Nepal. 00:16:51.64\00:16:53.94 They also don't know. 00:16:53.98\00:16:55.18 What do we need to go 00:16:55.21\00:16:56.41 and tell them that Jesus is love and Jesus has commanded us? 00:16:56.44\00:17:00.38 There is a great commission We all need to go and tell 00:17:00.52\00:17:03.99 about Jesus, teach them about Jesus 00:17:04.02\00:17:06.99 and bring them into his fold by baptizing them. 00:17:07.02\00:17:10.76 Okay? 00:17:11.63\00:17:12.73 And Jesus has assured that He is with us at the end. 00:17:12.76\00:17:15.43 To the end, Absolutely. 00:17:16.03\00:17:18.23 Always, always, always. 00:17:18.27\00:17:20.84 So, Pastor Umesh, 00:17:20.87\00:17:22.07 someone is listening to us right now as we are sitting here. 00:17:22.10\00:17:26.07 And what is something that you would like to ask 00:17:26.51\00:17:30.35 or to request of a viewer 00:17:30.38\00:17:33.42 that would help the people of Nepal? 00:17:34.22\00:17:36.55 I would like to request our viewers 00:17:37.55\00:17:40.66 to pray for Nepal. 00:17:40.69\00:17:43.09 And the second thing is, 00:17:43.12\00:17:45.83 we need more Gospel Outreach vol 00:17:45.86\00:17:50.20 there are more than 123 00:17:51.50\00:17:54.70 languages spoken groups, 00:17:56.10\00:17:58.27 123 languages. 00:17:58.31\00:18:00.88 And we have so many different 00:18:00.91\00:18:04.11 indigenous groups also, there are these groups 00:18:05.55\00:18:09.68 need to hear about Jesus 00:18:09.72\00:18:12.79 and these groups are 00:18:13.22\00:18:15.99 scattered in the remote places in Nepal 00:18:16.02\00:18:20.23 and they need to hear about Jesus so that we need 00:18:20.26\00:18:24.17 a more Gospel Outreach and we ne 00:18:24.20\00:18:27.27 have meetings 00:18:28.00\00:18:30.31 like courthouse meetings 00:18:30.34\00:18:33.17 and house meetings for for new believers 00:18:33.21\00:18:38.01 or a new interest people to bring into our fold. 00:18:38.05\00:18:40.85 And we need a more Gospel Outreach volunteer 00:18:40.88\00:18:43.32 so that they can go to different places. 00:18:43.35\00:18:46.42 Particularly, we need to train or we need to find a person 00:18:47.39\00:18:51.59 from that community. 00:18:52.09\00:18:53.53 Yes. Okay. 00:18:53.56\00:18:54.40 And that will that will give us a solid 00:18:54.46\00:18:57.83 foundation. Yes. 00:18:59.10\00:19:00.77 And if we have one community like the mother, 00:19:00.80\00:19:04.87 that is a one tribe. And then we want to reach 00:19:05.17\00:19:09.91 to far western Nepal, we first need to raise the mothe 00:19:09.94\00:19:14.08 Yeah. 00:19:14.35\00:19:15.22 And if we have a mother in that area, 00:19:15.25\00:19:18.32 and we want to 00:19:18.62\00:19:19.72 reach a people of that area, we need a local person. 00:19:19.75\00:19:22.69 And that will help us. Yes. 00:22:23.37\00:22:25.71 And we are praying for them. 00:22:25.74\00:22:27.21 And do you do this in Nepal when you do this? 00:22:27.24\00:22:29.94 Yeah. 00:22:29.98\00:22:30.55 So what does this mean? 00:22:30.58\00:22:31.85 It is a greetings that you are you are humbling yourself. Yes. 00:22:31.88\00:22:34.98 Well, I want to say that. 00:22:35.78\00:22:37.12 So thank you and God bless you, Pastor Umesh. 00:22:37.15\00:22:40.06 Thank you. 00:22:40.09\00:22:40.62 On my drive into the 00:22:41.76\00:22:42.86 Gospel Outreach headquarters this morning, 00:22:42.89\00:22:44.56 I was trying to decide what I wanted to share with you. 00:22:44.59\00:22:46.93 And something came to my mind that I really would like to talk 00:22:46.96\00:22:49.90 to you about today. 00:22:49.93\00:22:51.17 I want to share with you about a new project 00:22:51.20\00:22:53.23 that Gospel Outreach has gotten 00:22:53.27\00:22:55.04 with on the border of Thailand and Myanmar. 00:22:55.07\00:22:57.51 So as you know, Gospel Outreach's main 00:22:57.54\00:22:59.61 goal is to sponsor Bible workers throughout the 1040 window, 00:22:59.64\00:23:03.41 sharing the love of Jesus to the people in those areas. 00:23:03.55\00:23:06.61 But there are oftentimes places where we are unable 00:23:06.82\00:23:09.68 to effectively send a Bible worker. 00:23:09.72\00:23:11.85 Maybe it's too dangerous, maybe it's too difficult. 00:23:11.89\00:23:14.66 And so we look for alternative 00:23:14.69\00:23:16.46 ways to be able to reach those places. 00:23:16.49\00:23:18.49 Well, we recently found one of these 00:23:18.53\00:23:20.26 situations on the border of Thailand and Myanmar. 00:23:20.30\00:23:23.40 Now, if you don't know a lot about Myanmar, 00:23:23.43\00:23:25.33 the name of Myanmar used to be Burma. 00:23:25.37\00:23:27.77 And if you've heard about the storyteller, Eric B Hare. 00:23:27.80\00:23:30.14 This is where all of his stories came from 00:23:30.17\00:23:32.61 was the country of Burma, which is now called Myanmar. 00:23:32.64\00:23:35.71 Now Myanmar has been at war for over 75 years. 00:23:35.84\00:23:39.95 The Burmese 00:23:39.98\00:23:41.15 military essentially are trying to completely eradicate 00:23:41.18\00:23:44.52 the hill tribes, and so many thousands of people are being 00:23:44.55\00:23:48.26 killed right now as we speak in the country of Myanmar. 00:23:48.29\00:23:52.13 This is a very sad reality 00:23:52.39\00:23:54.00 that's been going on for a long time. 00:23:54.00\00:23:55.73 And many people don't know about it 00:23:55.76\00:23:57.30 because no media outlets are really talking about this. 00:23:57.33\00:24:00.67 Now. Where does Gospel Outreach 00:24:00.84\00:24:02.97 Well, it's far too difficult to send Bible workers 00:24:03.00\00:24:05.67 into the country of Myanmar right now as we speak. 00:24:05.71\00:24:09.64 But we have found 00:24:09.91\00:24:11.15 an effective way to be able to reach the people of Myanmar. 00:24:11.18\00:24:14.28 There is a school on the border of Myanmar and Thailand 00:24:14.68\00:24:17.59 by the name of Sunshine Orchards 00:24:17.62\00:24:19.89 Now, this school used to be 00:24:19.92\00:24:21.06 in the country of Myanmar, but because of the dangers, 00:24:21.09\00:24:23.66 the school was moved across the border to Thailand. 00:24:23.69\00:24:27.40 There are two jungle schools that are also across the border 00:24:27.60\00:24:30.63 in Myanmar that is connected with Sunshine Orchards. 00:24:30.67\00:24:34.00 And so between all of these schools, 00:24:34.27\00:24:36.37 they have the potential to reach many, many students. 00:24:36.40\00:24:40.14 Now, here's some statistics for you. 00:24:40.18\00:24:41.74 70% of the students going to Sunshine Orchards 00:24:41.78\00:24:45.31 are Buddhist and over 15% are animist. 00:24:45.55\00:24:49.18 So a large majority of these students are not Christian. 00:24:49.42\00:24:52.75 Now, 90% of the students coming to the school 00:24:53.02\00:24:56.26 are crossing the border from Myanmar into Thailand 00:24:56.29\00:25:00.16 and going to Sunshine Orchard School. 00:25:00.20\00:25:02.20 This is the only option for many of these students 00:25:02.23\00:25:05.07 to be able to get a proper education. 00:25:05.10\00:25:07.10 And that is why the Thai government has allowed 00:25:07.14\00:25:09.24 these students to come across the border 00:25:09.27\00:25:11.37 and to go to school at Sunshine 00:25:11.41\00:25:14.04 Now, Sunshine Orchards has always slowly been growing, 00:25:14.08\00:25:17.58 but over the past few years, 00:25:17.61\00:25:18.91 because of the escalation of the war across the border 00:25:18.95\00:25:22.28 in Myanmar, it has grown very quickly. 00:25:22.32\00:25:25.49 Last year there were just over 00:25:25.62\00:25:27.42 300 students and this year there are over 600 students. 00:25:27.46\00:25:31.43 It has doubled in a year. Because of this, 00:25:31.46\00:25:34.36 Sunshine Orchards has a great need for more teachers. 00:25:34.40\00:25:38.57 So this is where Gospel Outreach 00:25:38.80\00:25:40.40 seen an opportunity to reach the people of Myanmar. 00:25:40.44\00:25:44.04 So we are now sponsoring between the three schools, 00:25:44.31\00:25:47.58 Sunshine Orchards and the two jungle schools 00:25:47.61\00:25:49.74 across the border. 00:25:49.78\00:25:50.98 We are sponsoring 40 teachers. 00:25:51.01\00:25:54.08 All of these teachers are Adventist 00:25:54.32\00:25:56.12 and all of these teachers 00:25:56.15\00:25:57.29 use the Bible as their base for teaching the children. 00:25:57.32\00:26:00.72 Many of these students 00:26:01.09\00:26:02.12 have never really even heard who Jesus Christ is. 00:26:02.16\00:26:05.66 And so we are bringing a message to these young people 00:26:05.69\00:26:08.83 that they have never heard before. 00:26:08.86\00:26:10.37 And because of this, 00:26:10.40\00:26:12.13 many of these students have given their lives to Jesus. 00:26:12.17\00:26:14.80 And when they go across the border 00:26:14.84\00:26:16.54 back to their home after, after their education, 00:26:16.57\00:26:19.64 they will be sharing this hope of Jesus with their family 00:26:19.84\00:26:22.94 and their friends. 00:26:22.98\00:26:24.18 In sponsoring these teachers, we are spreading the gospel 00:26:24.21\00:26:27.02 to the people of Myanmar in a very effective way. 00:26:27.05\00:26:30.15 And maybe one of the 00:26:30.19\00:26:31.32 only ways to do it for the time being during this war. 00:26:31.35\00:26:34.89 So I have two things I want to ask of you before 00:26:35.06\00:26:37.23 I let you go. 00:26:37.26\00:26:38.09 Number one, I want to ask you to pray 00:26:38.13\00:26:39.66 for these teachers, pray 00:26:39.69\00:26:40.86 for these 40 teachers who are working 00:26:40.90\00:26:43.10 in rough circumstances and rough conditions 00:26:43.13\00:26:45.70 in order to educate these children, to give these children 00:26:45.73\00:26:49.27 a chance at a better life and sharing Jesus with them 00:26:49.30\00:26:52.64 so that they can take that message back to their families. 00:26:52.67\00:26:55.74 I also want to ask you to pray for the people of Myanmar. 00:26:55.91\00:26:58.85 What's going on right now in 00:26:58.88\00:27:00.22 this country is incredibly devastating. 00:27:00.25\00:27:03.95 We know people who are in prison. 00:27:03.99\00:27:05.85 We know people who have been killed. 00:27:05.89\00:27:08.36 And it's just a very bad situation. 00:27:08.39\00:27:10.86 And for many people, they don't know 00:27:10.89\00:27:12.63 what's going on there because the media doesn't 00:27:12.66\00:27:14.93 really talk about the situation of what's happening in Myanmar. 00:27:14.93\00:27:18.53 So please pray for these people, 00:27:18.57\00:27:20.54 pray that they give their hearts to Jesus, that they are given 00:27:20.57\00:27:23.61 the opportunity to learn about the love and hope of Jesus. 00:27:23.64\00:27:27.78 So I want to thank you for your continued 00:27:28.04\00:27:29.74 support of Gospel Outreach throu 00:27:29.78\00:27:32.85 through prayers, Everything is so important 00:27:32.88\00:27:35.42 and like me and my wife, we are so committed to 00:27:35.45\00:27:38.95 Gospel Outreach . 00:27:38.99\00:27:39.69 We believe in this organization 00:27:39.72\00:27:41.36 and what this organization 00:27:41.39\00:27:42.92 stands for and what this organization 00:27:42.96\00:27:44.86 is doing throughout the 1040 window. 00:27:44.89\00:27:46.59 So thank you for being involved with that. 00:27:46.63\00:27:48.93 And until next time, God bless you. 00:27:48.96\00:27:51.03 I want to encourage you to get involved 00:27:51.07\00:27:52.93 and I'll see you in the next episode. 00:27:52.97\00:27:54.47 Wasn't that amazing to hear Pastor Umesh's his testimon 00:27:55.44\00:27:58.24 I want to encourage you to visit our Web 00:27:58.27\00:28:00.14 streaming service at gotvmissions.org 00:28:00.18\00:28:02.98 and you can find out more 00:28:03.01\00:28:04.18 about what God is doing through the Gospel 00:28:04.21\00:28:06.11 Outreach workers like Singerman on our new show called 00:28:06.15\00:28:09.12 Destination 10/40 with Aaron and Lexi Rittenour. 00:28:09.15\00:28:12.39 You'll want to stay tuned to that. 00:28:12.55\00:28:14.36 And you can also watch Destination 10/40 00:28:14.39\00:28:16.62 or wherever you're watching Adventures in Missions 00:28:16.66\00:28:19.03 on behalf of Gospel Outreach . 00:28:19.06\00:28:20.33 Thank you so much for praying for our Gospel Outreach workers 00:28:20.36\00:28:23.47 and may the Lord bless you today. 00:28:23.50\00:28:25.40 I'm not a good sales lady, but I know that I am. 00:28:25.43\00:28:28.44 We need your help. 00:28:28.47\00:28:29.27 But I am sold on Gospel Outreach . 00:28:29.30\00:28:31.67
