We bought our property here actually in 76. 00:00:02.03\00:00:05.27 1976. 00:00:05.30\00:00:06.94 Our first year, we put in a road 00:00:06.97\00:00:10.51 and tried to clear the land somewhat. 00:00:10.54\00:00:13.44 I think Gospel Outreach really has a a commitment and a heart 00:00:13.48\00:00:18.18 to do the Gospel Commission to reach the world. 00:00:18.21\00:00:22.55 God strongly supports those 00:00:22.58\00:00:25.05 whose heart is totally his. 00:00:25.09\00:00:28.12 And when I went there in 1969, 00:00:28.16\00:00:31.09 there were no Nepali Seventh Day Adventists, 00:00:31.13\00:00:34.50 and I went back in 2008, 00:00:34.56\00:00:37.60 and all of a sudden there's 7000 Seventh Day Adventists. Wow. 00:00:37.77\00:00:41.60 And so I asked around, where did all these people come from? 00:00:41.64\00:00:44.54 Gospel Outreach. 00:00:44.57\00:00:47.01 Praise the Lord. 00:00:47.04\00:00:48.58 Now, Ultimate Mission has been training and equipping 00:00:48.61\00:00:50.85 Gospel Outreach worker wives to be health workers 00:00:50.88\00:00:53.72 in their communities for around ten years now. 00:00:53.75\00:00:56.35 Hi, I'm Julie. Welcome to Adventures 00:00:56.38\00:00:57.89 in Missions here at Gospel Outreach. 00:00:57.92\00:00:59.95 So when you go to church, how do you get to church? 00:01:00.06\00:01:02.32 Do you get in your nice 00:01:02.36\00:01:03.76 cushy car with air conditioning or heat? 00:01:03.79\00:01:06.36 Well, today we're going to be hearing 00:01:06.39\00:01:07.66 about a remote church 00:01:07.73\00:01:09.06 in the mountains of Nepal from Charles Schulz. 00:01:09.10\00:01:11.73 You'll want to stay tuned. 00:01:11.77\00:01:13.50 Gospel Outreach presents Adventures in Missions. 00:01:13.54\00:01:48.64 I'm getting greens 00:01:48.67\00:01:50.77 for the smoothies. 00:01:50.81\00:01:56.58 We bought our property here 00:01:56.61\00:01:58.15 actually in 76, 1976, 00:01:58.18\00:02:01.65 the first year we put in a road 00:02:01.68\00:02:05.15 and tried to clear the land somewhat best we could. 00:02:05.19\00:02:09.02 we look like we need to pick some tomatoes, Del. 00:02:09.06\00:02:12.26 Have to get our bucket. 00:02:12.29\00:02:17.70 It is a job to keep the weeds out. 00:02:17.73\00:02:19.80 As you know, if you've ever had a garden. 00:02:19.83\00:02:24.81 We put this in our smoothies 00:02:24.84\00:02:28.14 to keep Del healthy. 00:02:28.18\00:02:35.72 We are Del and Bonnie Orser 00:02:35.75\00:02:40.32 We have been going to India for 20 years, 00:02:40.36\00:02:42.56 but the last ten have been 00:02:42.59\00:02:43.99 with Gospel Outreach about half the time. 00:02:44.03\00:02:48.83 I've always loved 00:02:48.86\00:02:49.73 to share the blueberry story 00:02:49.76\00:02:52.83 because in a way it is really revealed a God 00:02:53.03\00:02:55.80 that we have learned to trust and believe in. 00:02:55.84\00:02:59.41 And I add it to the many experiences 00:02:59.44\00:03:01.81 we found in India as one of our Ebenezer's 00:03:01.84\00:03:06.92 when we first built our home and were 00:03:06.95\00:03:08.45 doing the landscaping around. 00:03:08.48\00:03:09.88 And I wanted to incorporate 00:03:09.92\00:03:11.72 a crop that we could use as an income for missions. 00:03:11.75\00:03:15.09 For some reason, blueberries came to my mind, 00:03:15.12\00:03:17.39 even though I never knew nothing about them. 00:03:17.43\00:03:20.50 And owning a business and being a part of Chamber of Commerce, 00:03:20.63\00:03:24.23 we found ourselves on a bus going north to a blueberry farm. 00:03:24.27\00:03:28.54 And when we got there, we realized that this man was 00:03:28.57\00:03:32.14 had a tall fence around his acreage to prevent the deer 00:03:32.17\00:03:35.54 and the elk and the bear from getting his berries. 00:03:35.58\00:03:37.75 And I went online and found that, yes, 00:03:37.78\00:03:41.12 they are a problem and eat the blueberries. 00:03:41.15\00:03:43.99 So I came home rather discouraged, 00:03:44.02\00:03:47.82 and then I remembered a promise of God 00:03:47.86\00:03:50.96 that says if we are faithful in our ties 00:03:50.99\00:03:53.96 and our offerings, the Lord will rebuke the devour. 00:03:54.00\00:03:57.53 And then he says, Trust me or try me now. 00:03:57.57\00:04:00.37 And as that, I will pour out a blessing 00:04:00.40\00:04:02.54 and you will not have room to receive 00:04:02.57\00:04:05.27 So immediately I 00:04:05.31\00:04:07.28 sent off for 200 bushes. 00:04:07.31\00:04:09.54 It was quite an investment for us, but 00:04:09.58\00:04:12.21 over the years we have not had one problem with Bear. 00:04:12.25\00:04:15.88 They've been here many times deer and elk, 00:04:15.92\00:04:18.65 and we give all the glory and credit to God. 00:04:18.69\00:04:22.82 And so the blueberry story is special to us 00:04:22.86\00:04:26.49 because it has been a method that we can share 00:04:26.53\00:04:30.83 with the berries for India and raising money for his cause. 00:04:30.87\00:04:34.54 We keep very accurate records, 00:04:34.70\00:04:36.17 making sure that every penny goes for 00:04:36.20\00:04:39.04 our God's work in India and Pakistan now. 00:04:39.07\00:04:42.68 Well, our first trip to India was in 2000. 00:04:42.71\00:04:46.65 So it's not easy. 00:04:46.68\00:04:47.35 It's easy to figure out 23 years 00:04:47.38\00:04:55.62 Del and I represent Gospel Outre 00:04:55.66\00:04:58.26 We are so excited because we just made a deal 00:05:07.54\00:05:10.57 with this bicycle shop for 13, bicycle for our fiber workers. 00:05:10.61\00:05:15.41 In north section. And you can hear 00:05:15.44\00:05:18.85 all the noise in the backround. 00:05:18.88\00:05:23.02 What a privilege it has been to work 00:05:23.05\00:05:25.25 with an organization that, you know, 00:05:25.29\00:05:28.92 all the proceeds go for the work very, very little. 00:05:28.96\00:05:32.23 What is it, like 3%? 00:05:32.26\00:05:33.86 I believe goes for overhead. 00:05:33.90\00:05:35.70 That's unheard of. 00:05:35.73\00:05:38.67 I think Gospel Outreach 00:05:38.70\00:05:39.83 really has a a commitment and a heart 00:05:39.87\00:05:43.37 to do the gospel commission, to reach the world. 00:05:43.41\00:05:48.21 We have been so personally blessed 00:05:48.24\00:05:50.91 by being part of Gospel Outreach 00:05:50.95\00:05:53.88 And every year 00:05:53.92\00:05:54.78 we look forward to going for the rally 00:05:54.82\00:05:56.75 and the camaraderie that we have together. 00:05:56.79\00:05:59.52 It has deepened our experience with Jesus, and we have met 00:05:59.55\00:06:04.13 so many wonderful people who are dedicated to Jesus. 00:06:04.16\00:06:09.66 Bonnie and I began to realize that as we look in the 00:06:09.70\00:06:15.57 mirror every morning, that we're getting 00:06:15.60\00:06:20.18 more wrinkles, older and older, 00:06:20.21\00:06:21.98 and we realized our need to 00:06:22.01\00:06:25.81 have a replacement 00:06:25.85\00:06:27.58 As we went to camp meeting a regional camp meeting. 00:06:27.62\00:06:30.95 I got the idea while we were there that why not 00:06:30.99\00:06:34.66 get up front and see if there would be anyone 00:06:34.69\00:06:36.46 that would like to take our place as 00:06:36.49\00:06:38.33 Directors for Gospel Outreach. 00:06:38.36\00:06:41.16 We'd like to see a couple come rather than just an individual. 00:06:41.20\00:06:44.40 So we appealed to the couples and told them what a blessing 00:06:44.43\00:06:47.40 it was for our marriage because we work together. 00:06:47.44\00:06:50.31 And actually two couples came forward 00:06:50.34\00:06:53.48 and one of them was from our own church. 00:06:53.51\00:06:56.98 Their names are 00:06:57.01\00:06:59.45 Pedro and Maria 00:06:59.48\00:07:02.48 and very 00:07:02.52\00:07:04.99 much a blessing to us to see how we have someone 00:07:05.02\00:07:07.76 I think is very qualified to take our position now. 00:07:07.79\00:07:12.16 Are you eating my blueberries? 00:07:12.19\00:07:13.86 I ate two. 00:07:13.90\00:07:16.93 that's good. 00:07:17.07\00:07:18.50 Our God blessed us as we have 00:07:18.53\00:07:21.50 always paid, tied and kept a Sabbath. 00:07:21.54\00:07:24.74 And there's 00:07:24.77\00:07:27.51 so many things that have really been true 00:07:27.54\00:07:30.75 that God strongly supports those whose heart is totally his. 00:07:30.78\00:07:46.33 We have been so blessed 00:07:46.36\00:07:47.50 over the years as we work together and 00:07:47.56\00:07:51.00 we don't always agree, but generally we do. 00:07:51.03\00:07:54.84 On where to go and what to do. 00:07:54.87\00:07:56.71 And I always win. 00:07:56.74\00:07:59.07 I had to throw that in. 00:07:59.11\00:08:24.97 Charles Schulz, it's always wonderful 00:08:25.00\00:08:26.77 to have you here 00:08:26.80\00:08:27.47 at Adventures in Missions and Go 00:08:27.50\00:08:29.57 and thank you for being here again. 00:08:29.60\00:08:31.61 Thank you for inviting me. 00:08:31.64\00:08:33.44 So Charles, I am intrigued with your hat this time. 00:08:33.48\00:08:36.48 So can you tell us a little bit about your Nepali hat? 00:08:36.51\00:08:39.65 Well, most Nepalis, if especially if they are 00:08:39.68\00:08:44.05 from old school, 00:08:44.09\00:08:45.29 they'll wear the Nepali 00:08:45.32\00:08:46.32 hat because it's kind of a nationalistic dress. 00:08:46.35\00:08:49.56 And so I had this one and I thought I'd put it on this one. 00:08:49.59\00:08:54.36 My head is usually too big and the others don't fit. 00:08:54.40\00:08:57.87 So honesty here at Adventures in Mission, 00:08:57.90\00:09:02.67 but it like, 00:09:02.70\00:09:03.64 swoops up like like the mountains of Nepal. 00:09:03.67\00:09:06.34 Yes, yes, yes. 00:09:06.37\00:09:07.38 And it's supposed to swoop up on the left side. 00:09:07.41\00:09:10.01 On the left side. 00:09:10.05\00:09:11.21 So anyway, I don't know which side this is, but anyway, 00:09:11.25\00:09:14.78 it's it's nice and, you know, to 00:09:14.82\00:09:17.82 to be typically Nepali, but we have to have this. 00:09:17.85\00:09:21.22 Well, I like it. 00:09:21.26\00:09:22.16 And you have a special pin on the front. 00:09:22.19\00:09:23.56 Tell me about that. 00:09:23.59\00:09:24.76 Well, the that's the symbol of Nepal, a kind of an icon. 00:09:24.79\00:09:29.00 And the to cook reads Kukri is a Nepali knife. 00:09:29.03\00:09:32.93 It's kind of like it's it's like a boomerang. 00:09:32.97\00:09:36.60 And but they don't throw it. 00:09:36.64\00:09:39.01 And that's what most people carry in their in their person. 00:09:39.04\00:09:44.61 And they can chop wood, They can chop brush. 00:09:44.65\00:09:48.48 If they're attacked by a bear, they can defend themselves. 00:09:48.52\00:09:51.52 This happened often, Charles. 00:09:51.55\00:09:54.32 As more and more people are coming 00:09:54.36\00:09:56.69 in, it's happening less and less. 00:09:56.73\00:09:58.53 But the chicory is about how long, 00:09:58.56\00:10:00.36 how long About like, 00:10:00.40\00:10:01.63 Yeah, yeah, I think I've seen them tucked into the waist, so. 00:10:01.66\00:10:05.03 Well, thank you. 00:10:05.07\00:10:06.00 Thank you. So a little Nepal fashion here. 00:10:06.03\00:10:08.77 Yes. Yeah. Yes. 00:10:08.80\00:10:10.64 So speaking of Nepal, 00:10:10.67\00:10:13.74 we're talking about a very special country near 00:10:13.88\00:10:15.61 and dear to your heart. Yes. 00:10:15.64\00:10:17.28 And yet not only is it dear to your heart, 00:10:17.31\00:10:20.48 but it's also it's because of the people. 00:10:20.52\00:10:22.52 Right, Charles? Amen. 00:10:22.55\00:10:24.29 And because why? 00:10:24.32\00:10:25.55 They need to know about the living God, right? 00:10:25.59\00:10:28.06 Yes. Yes. 00:10:28.09\00:10:29.22 And when I went there in 1969, 00:10:29.26\00:10:32.06 there were no Nepali Seventh Day Adventists. 00:10:32.09\00:10:35.50 And I went back in 2008 00:10:35.53\00:10:38.60 and all of a sudden there's 7000, Seventh Day Adventists Wow 00:10:38.73\00:10:42.64 And so I asked around, where did all these people come from? 00:10:42.67\00:10:45.51 Gospel Outreach, praise the Lord. 00:10:45.54\00:10:50.28 So that's why I'm happy to represent Gospel Outreach. 00:10:50.31\00:10:53.98 So but when we think about Nepal, you know, 00:10:54.02\00:10:56.02 we think 00:10:56.05\00:10:57.25 and we've said this here before, we think about obviously Mt. 00:10:57.29\00:10:59.52 Everest and the Himalayas and all of that. 00:10:59.55\00:11:02.46 So we think about that. 00:11:02.49\00:11:04.63 And yes, we have all of our mountaineer 00:11:04.66\00:11:06.80 stories and people who go up there, 00:11:06.83\00:11:08.40 but there are people who actually live 00:11:08.43\00:11:10.07 in these mountains, the people in Nepal, 00:11:10.10\00:11:13.74 as this map shows, basically they're in three levels, ground 00:11:13.77\00:11:19.41 level, which is adjacent to India. 00:11:19.44\00:11:22.34 And then you have the midsection, 00:11:22.38\00:11:24.41 which is the mountains from 2000 to 6000 feet. 00:11:24.45\00:11:28.25 And most of our church members live in that area. 00:11:28.28\00:11:31.19 And it's it's the most reasonable climate. 00:11:31.22\00:11:34.56 And then you have the super high 00:11:34.59\00:11:35.92 Himalayas with ten feet on up to 26,000. 00:11:35.96\00:11:39.66 Yeah. 00:11:39.79\00:11:40.70 So and, you know, I'm I'm very concerned 00:11:40.73\00:11:44.73 about following Revelation 14:6 00:11:44.77\00:11:49.57 the gospel has to go to 00:11:49.60\00:11:51.11 every nation kindred tongue and people and languages. Yes. 00:11:51.14\00:11:54.71 And there is 123 different languages in Nepal. 00:11:54.74\00:11:58.75 The lingua franca is Nepali, but there are people from 00:11:58.78\00:12:03.95 Niwas, muggers, ride, limbo. 00:12:03.99\00:12:08.16 It goes on and on and on. 00:12:08.19\00:12:09.62 And we just found a new people group really just now 00:12:09.66\00:12:14.76 in the last well, I'd say last few years. 00:12:14.83\00:12:18.00 And actually it was Kami with that business world radio 00:12:18.17\00:12:22.14 because the radio, you know, reach somebody 00:12:22.17\00:12:24.61 and then they called up Gospel Outreach. 00:12:24.64\00:12:26.68 Pastor Umesh And so she, she actually climbed up 00:12:26.71\00:12:30.98 because they didn't have a road. 00:12:31.01\00:12:32.35 But last March I went by car 00:12:32.38\00:12:36.25 and I was just fascinated that it's another remote 00:12:36.28\00:12:38.92 Seventh Day Adventist church. 00:12:38.95\00:12:40.36 So let me get this straight. 00:12:40.39\00:12:41.99 Did I hear you correctly? 00:12:42.02\00:12:43.49 There is a group of people that no one's known about, 00:12:43.53\00:12:46.43 but they heard on Adventist World Radio. 00:12:46.46\00:12:49.43 Yes, a presentation. 00:12:49.46\00:12:50.67 Yes. And our Gospel Outreach worker now has been contacted 00:12:50.70\00:12:54.74 and we've learned about a whole new people group. 00:12:54.77\00:12:56.84 oh hello, in 2023. 00:12:56.87\00:12:59.14 This is hilarious. 00:12:59.17\00:13:00.58 Well, it's it's... I love it. 00:13:00.61\00:13:02.74 It's the reality. 00:13:02.78\00:13:03.58 And you look at the map, 00:13:03.61\00:13:05.08 there's people all over that we haven't touched. 00:13:05.11\00:13:08.48 Isn't that something? 00:13:08.52\00:13:09.58 But say that again, 123 languages. Yes. 00:13:09.62\00:13:13.59 In this country. 00:13:13.62\00:13:14.59 Yes. Wow. 00:13:14.62\00:13:15.69 But this this country is about the size of Oregon. 00:13:15.72\00:13:18.23 If you. Yeah. Squeezed it up a little bit. 00:13:18.26\00:13:20.36 Yeah. Okay. 00:13:20.40\00:13:21.40 So we asked our Gospel Outreach 00:13:21.43\00:13:25.17 to show us where this village, this remote village, is. 00:13:25.20\00:13:28.84 And so 00:13:28.87\00:13:30.11 he jumped on his motorcycle and we followed him and our 4x4 00:13:30.14\00:13:35.74 and too much of kameez, delight. 00:13:35.78\00:13:38.68 You don't have to walk up from the riverbed up to the church. 00:13:38.71\00:13:42.85 You can now ride in a 4x4. 00:13:42.88\00:13:45.35 And so that was great. 00:13:45.39\00:13:46.69 So how many days did it take you? 00:13:46.72\00:13:48.56 no, 3 hours. 00:13:48.59\00:13:49.69 3 hours. 00:13:49.72\00:13:50.46 So, yeah, so but it's also remote. 00:13:50.49\00:13:53.23 When we finally got there, we didn't know where the church 00:13:53.26\00:13:56.70 was. But here again, our Gospel Outreach worker, 00:13:56.73\00:14:00.37 he showed us down the path and we could look down 00:14:00.40\00:14:03.97 and see some of the trails that Cami went on. 00:14:04.01\00:14:07.71 And we got to the church. 00:14:07.74\00:14:09.98 You know, it was 00:14:10.01\00:14:12.21 very simple and plain 00:14:12.25\00:14:14.45 and here is our Gospel Outreach 00:14:14.48\00:14:18.62 following the path to the church. 00:14:18.65\00:14:20.46 When we saw the church, it's the one in the middle with the 00:14:20.49\00:14:24.06 with the roof, 00:14:24.09\00:14:25.99 the tin roof, tin roof on the left. 00:14:26.03\00:14:28.76 Very important. 00:14:28.80\00:14:29.83 And the question is, what does this church need? 00:14:29.86\00:14:34.30 And, you know, we often ask this because 00:14:34.34\00:14:37.57 this church, it's an Adventist church 00:14:37.61\00:14:41.24 and it needs some one to look after it, 00:14:41.28\00:14:44.81 take care for it, be responsible for it. 00:14:44.98\00:14:47.32 Now, do they have any kind of electricity up here 00:14:47.35\00:14:50.09 or is it all wood burning everything for stoves? 00:14:50.12\00:14:54.62 So no electricity, no electricity, nothing. 00:14:54.66\00:14:57.29 And but, you know, this is this settlement is is important 00:14:57.33\00:15:01.93 because this is a chepang settlement 00:15:01.96\00:15:04.47 and everybody lives there 00:15:04.50\00:15:06.30 and there's some interest in Christianity. 00:15:06.33\00:15:09.40 And so it's so important, 00:15:09.54\00:15:11.97 I think, to have a Gospel Outrea 00:15:12.01\00:15:15.61 and not just the coordinator of the supervisor, 00:15:15.64\00:15:18.81 but someone especially. 00:15:18.85\00:15:20.45 But how long is this church been here, though, Charles? 00:15:20.48\00:15:23.55 I think three or four years. 00:15:23.69\00:15:25.89 Okay. Okay. 00:15:25.92\00:15:27.22 So this isn't the new people group. 00:15:27.26\00:15:29.02 This is this is a church 00:15:29.06\00:15:31.23 that's been there for a little bit. 00:15:31.26\00:15:32.69 Yes. Okay. 00:15:32.73\00:15:33.86 here's the church. Here's the church. 00:15:33.90\00:15:35.93 And, you know, you look at these people and very, very nice. 00:15:35.96\00:15:40.64 Again, the question is, what do these people need? 00:15:40.80\00:15:45.47 And you know what I see looking at this picture? 00:15:45.51\00:15:47.48 I see all these kids and I love that. Yes. 00:15:47.51\00:15:50.38 I love seeing all those kids coming and learning about Jesus. 00:15:50.41\00:15:53.62 So most of these people a Hindu background. 00:15:53.82\00:15:56.82 Absolutely. Okay. 00:15:56.85\00:15:58.49 But they're very enthusiastic. 00:15:58.52\00:16:01.02 And when we came to this church, we gave them some M&Ms, 00:16:01.06\00:16:05.69 because my neighbor works for Mars Candy in Cleveland, 00:16:05.73\00:16:09.43 Tennessee, and he gives me bags of M&Ms. 00:16:09.46\00:16:12.17 Nice. 00:16:12.20\00:16:12.63 Charles, you're 00:16:12.67\00:16:13.74 giving health food to the Nepali people of the world. 00:16:13.77\00:16:15.90 We we also gave them little bottles of mango drink. 00:16:15.94\00:16:19.87 And, you know, these 00:16:19.91\00:16:22.24 these children have never had any M&Ms 00:16:22.28\00:16:25.38 and they may not have ever had any chocolate. 00:16:25.41\00:16:28.12 Yeah. So it was just something. 00:16:28.15\00:16:30.39 Yeah. Yeah. 00:16:30.42\00:16:31.42 And we we brought clothing and also some toys. 00:16:31.45\00:16:35.72 So what they think about all of that, 00:16:35.89\00:16:37.63 you know, this is Christmas. Exactly. 00:16:37.66\00:16:40.23 This is Christmas. The foreigner shows up with the. 00:16:40.26\00:16:42.73 The tall foreigner. 00:16:42.76\00:16:44.07 Yeah. Yeah. 00:16:44.10\00:16:44.97 And, and you know, we keep asking how, 00:16:45.00\00:16:48.20 how can we help this group? And education, 00:16:48.24\00:16:53.54 you know, this is not 00:16:53.58\00:16:54.71 an Adventist school, but it's a, it's a government school. 00:16:54.74\00:16:58.45 And so I took an interest, I said 00:16:58.48\00:17:00.45 what could we do to help these girls? 00:17:00.48\00:17:02.58 And they said, $100 00:17:02.62\00:17:05.42 a year, we'll provide tuition, 00:17:05.45\00:17:08.79 their school uniform, their books in a noon meal 00:17:08.82\00:17:12.76 at in this village, in this village. 00:17:12.79\00:17:15.23 And so for one. 00:17:15.26\00:17:17.17 So we we've sponsored these two girls. 00:17:17.20\00:17:19.97 Now, I wish it could be an Adventist education, 00:17:20.00\00:17:23.10 but it's not because 00:17:23.14\00:17:24.74 to to go to an Adventist school, they'd have to go down 3 hours, 00:17:24.77\00:17:28.01 you know, and all of that sort of well, thankfully 00:17:28.04\00:17:29.91 they have the church there and the girls can go to church. 00:17:29.94\00:17:32.85 Yeah. wow. 00:17:32.88\00:17:33.85 But, you know, 00:17:33.88\00:17:35.08 we just were thinking, what can we do to help this church? 00:17:35.12\00:17:39.69 And I'm convinced that the greatest help 00:17:39.72\00:17:43.02 that we can give them is a Gospel Outreach worker. 00:17:43.06\00:17:47.93 And here we have Prolaud Chepang. 00:17:47.96\00:17:50.80 Everybody in that community. 00:17:50.83\00:17:52.43 Their last name is Chepang, 00:17:52.47\00:17:54.47 because that's their people group. 00:17:54.50\00:17:56.40 That's their their tribe. 00:17:56.44\00:17:58.01 That's their language. 00:17:58.04\00:17:59.47 And his he's very nice and 00:17:59.51\00:18:03.55 he already has, 00:18:03.58\00:18:05.55 you know, and in with the with the people, as you can see, 00:18:05.58\00:18:08.88 you can see some daylight underneath the the tin roof. 00:18:08.92\00:18:13.09 And so yeah. 00:18:13.12\00:18:13.79 you're inside the church here. 00:18:13.82\00:18:14.92 Yes, we're inside the church 00:18:14.96\00:18:16.26 that's been that's in the process of being cared for. 00:18:16.29\00:18:19.06 But you know, 00:18:19.09\00:18:21.40 it's not just enough to have a building, 00:18:21.43\00:18:24.40 It isn't enough to have people. 00:18:24.43\00:18:26.84 You have to have someone who looks after the people 00:18:26.87\00:18:30.91 and cares for them and visits them because of that. 00:18:30.94\00:18:34.48 And the Nepali people are are Nepali 00:18:34.51\00:18:37.98 Gospel Outreach workers are very good about visiting. 00:18:38.01\00:18:41.05 And then also the Gospel Outreac 00:18:41.08\00:18:44.92 the source for prayer. 00:18:44.95\00:18:46.72 And people have a problem. 00:18:46.76\00:18:48.89 They come and a prayer is offered, especially 00:18:48.92\00:18:53.56 when someone is possessed with with evil spirits. 00:18:53.60\00:18:58.37 And so they will come into the church. 00:18:58.40\00:19:01.44 Well, they're having church 00:19:01.47\00:19:02.90 and they all fall down and roll around. 00:19:02.94\00:19:05.54 And then the the deaconesses if it's a lady. 00:19:05.57\00:19:08.81 They will come and invite her to lie down. 00:19:08.84\00:19:12.28 And then they're all tensed up and 00:19:12.31\00:19:16.08 we pray and sing. 00:19:16.12\00:19:18.09 And after a while you can watch their hands relax, 00:19:18.12\00:19:22.89 and then they'll wake up and 00:19:22.92\00:19:25.79 very grateful to be delivered like that. 00:19:25.83\00:19:29.93 And it's it's an amazing thing. 00:19:29.96\00:19:32.97 So our Gospel Outreach workers are so, 00:19:33.00\00:19:36.24 so important and so necessary for the community. 00:19:36.27\00:19:40.08 He is the prayer source for the community many times. 00:19:40.28\00:19:45.25 And, you know, Charles, we have the same power here. 00:19:45.28\00:19:48.92 No matter where we are. 00:19:48.95\00:19:49.95 We have the Bible, we have the power of prayer, 00:19:49.98\00:19:52.25 and we have the living God with us. Yes. 00:19:52.29\00:19:54.62 So these stories that we hear, 00:19:54.66\00:19:57.16 you know, on the other side of the world and we're amazed 00:19:57.19\00:20:00.06 that we've got the same we have the same gifts from God, 00:20:00.10\00:20:03.53 you know, here today, right here where we sit. Yes. 00:20:03.67\00:20:06.10 And so we are tapped into that. 00:20:06.13\00:20:08.70 But yet you look at this village, there's no 00:20:08.74\00:20:10.57 a local pharmacy. 00:20:10.61\00:20:12.07 There is no local this there's no local that. 00:20:12.11\00:20:14.58 But our Gospel Outreach worker, he is he has God with him. 00:20:14.61\00:20:18.98 Yes. The power of prayer. 00:20:19.11\00:20:20.48 And I hope he has a Bible in his language. 00:20:20.52\00:20:23.65 Okay. 00:20:23.69\00:20:24.35 And also God Pods with the MP3 00:20:24.39\00:20:27.82 players 00:20:27.86\00:20:28.79 Yes. Holy language. 00:20:28.82\00:20:29.89 Yes the mega-voice voice because the church members, 00:20:29.92\00:20:33.76 they may or may not read. 00:20:33.80\00:20:36.06 And so this is an opportunity for them 00:20:36.10\00:20:39.03 to listen, to listen, hear the gospel. 00:20:39.07\00:20:42.04 And it's so important. 00:20:42.07\00:20:43.91 Faith building. Yeah. 00:20:43.94\00:20:45.77 But for so many of these people, though, 00:20:45.81\00:20:47.58 with this Hindu background 00:20:47.61\00:20:49.38 and here they are up in the mountains, 00:20:49.41\00:20:51.31 and then to have, you know, this dear brother of ours 00:20:51.35\00:20:54.08 sharing Jesus, I mean, it's all kind of new to them. Yes. 00:20:54.12\00:20:58.99 But they they recognize the 00:20:59.02\00:21:02.12 the power and the authority in Jesus name. 00:21:02.16\00:21:05.23 This is not just another religion. 00:21:05.26\00:21:08.63 This is a love relationship. Yeah. 00:21:08.66\00:21:11.83 This is a personal contact with the Christian God. 00:21:11.87\00:21:15.80 He is not up there in heaven, but this 00:21:16.00\00:21:18.37 this is someone that helps them with their individual problems 00:21:18.41\00:21:21.78 and they understand the power of Christ resurrection. 00:21:21.81\00:21:24.88 See, And you just said it to. 00:21:25.05\00:21:27.05 So in my devotion 00:21:27.08\00:21:28.05 today, it's the only God news that knows this. 00:21:28.08\00:21:30.65 But I was reading about the power of Jesus name. 00:21:30.69\00:21:34.96 Amen. 00:21:34.99\00:21:35.82 It is powerful. And we have to pray. 00:21:35.86\00:21:38.29 Bold prayers. 00:21:38.33\00:21:39.33 Yes, When we pray in Jesus name. 00:21:39.36\00:21:42.03 So may we pray for these dear 00:21:42.06\00:21:43.97 people in Nepal, in Jesus name, that He protects them 00:21:44.00\00:21:47.77 and that they will learn more about him. Amen. 00:21:47.80\00:21:50.14 Yeah, powerful. 00:21:50.17\00:21:51.47 So, Charles, as you continue to go back to this wonderful place 00:21:51.51\00:21:55.51 that's kind of second home to you, 00:21:55.54\00:21:58.11 what would you like to share here with a viewer 00:21:58.15\00:22:00.75 as they're listening 00:22:00.78\00:22:01.68 to hearing these stories and thinking, wow, 00:22:01.72\00:22:04.42 I don't know if I could ever go 00:22:04.45\00:22:05.59 to that place, but how can they get involved? 00:22:05.62\00:22:07.89 Well, they can get involved by supporting Gospel Outreach. 00:22:07.92\00:22:11.19 And we have 56 Bible workers. 00:22:11.23\00:22:15.03 And these Bible workers, these Gospel Outreach 00:22:15.06\00:22:18.20 workers are much more effective than I am. 00:22:18.23\00:22:21.40 If I would go there 00:22:21.44\00:22:23.04 and they understand the needs of the people 00:22:23.07\00:22:25.61 and they help the people, and I appreciate that so much. 00:22:25.64\00:22:30.28 And so you can help Nepal best 00:22:30.31\00:22:33.92 by supporting and contributing to Gospel Outreaches. 00:22:33.95\00:22:38.92 Absolutely. 00:22:38.95\00:22:39.95 And that is the model here at Gospel Outreach, 00:22:39.99\00:22:43.12 because, yes, you have gone as as a missionary to Nepal. 00:22:43.16\00:22:47.23 I have been a student missionary. 00:22:47.30\00:22:48.83 And and but to go and learn the language and do all of this, 00:22:48.86\00:22:53.60 it takes time. Yes. 00:22:53.64\00:22:55.20 And as we read in the good book, 00:22:55.24\00:22:57.87 we need to make 00:22:57.91\00:22:59.01 sure that we're using every every minute that we have. 00:22:59.04\00:23:01.78 So, again, Revelation 14 six 00:23:01.81\00:23:05.61 to every nation, tribe, language and people, 00:23:05.65\00:23:09.25 the eternal gospel, you know, that's what it's all about. 00:23:09.28\00:23:12.29 Well, Charles, thank you so much for being here. 00:23:12.45\00:23:13.96 And when you go back and and see these villagers 00:23:13.99\00:23:16.93 greet them in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. 00:23:16.96\00:23:20.33 Amen. Thank you. Thank you. 00:23:20.36\00:23:23.13 Today, I want to share with you about an exciting partnership 00:23:23.16\00:23:25.90 between Gospel Outreach 00:23:25.93\00:23:27.27 and an organization called Ultimate Mission. 00:23:27.30\00:23:29.80 Now, Ultimate Mission has been training 00:23:29.84\00:23:31.57 and equipping Gospel Outreach worker wives 00:23:31.61\00:23:33.84 to be health workers in their communities 00:23:33.88\00:23:35.94 for around ten years now. 00:23:35.98\00:23:37.78 What Gospel Outreach started realizing 00:23:37.81\00:23:39.75 is when a husband and wife team works together, 00:23:39.78\00:23:42.52 when they go to buy to into the communities, 00:23:42.55\00:23:45.45 into the highways and byways, telling people about Jesus 00:23:45.49\00:23:48.49 and showing the love of Jesus to to these people. 00:23:48.52\00:23:51.59 We have seen a massive impact. 00:23:51.63\00:23:54.40 Now, nine times out of ten, when we 00:23:54.46\00:23:56.33 sponsor a Gospel Outreach worker, be it a man or a woman, 00:23:56.36\00:24:00.30 the husband or wife always works together with them regardless 00:24:00.34\00:24:03.64 and spreading the gospel. They're a husband and wife team. 00:24:03.67\00:24:06.34 And so when Ultimate Mission is able to train and equip, 00:24:06.37\00:24:09.71 equip our Gospel Outreach worker wives to be health workers, 00:24:09.74\00:24:13.18 we have seen a massive impact in the communities, in areas 00:24:13.21\00:24:17.19 surrounding our Bible workers and where they live. 00:24:17.22\00:24:20.69 Because of this fact, Gospel Outreach has started 00:24:20.72\00:24:23.53 sponsoring health workers through Ultimate Mission. 00:24:23.56\00:24:26.26 So we have over 200 health workers. 00:24:26.29\00:24:29.33 That Gospel Outreach is now sponsoring 00:24:29.36\00:24:31.67 Ultimate Mission trains and equips 00:24:31.70\00:24:33.50 those women and Gospel Outreach is able to sponsor those women. 00:24:33.54\00:24:36.97 I can personally say that I have been a part of these trainings 00:24:37.01\00:24:40.58 that Ultimate Mission does with these health workers, 00:24:40.61\00:24:43.58 and it has been amazing to see this is not only a benefit 00:24:43.61\00:24:47.08 to the community, 00:24:47.12\00:24:48.18 this is a benefit 00:24:48.22\00:24:49.35 to these women as well, because in a country like India, 00:24:49.38\00:24:52.25 a woman is looked down upon a women. 00:24:52.29\00:24:54.42 A woman, unfortunately, 00:24:54.46\00:24:55.92 in that culture is oftentimes looked at as property. 00:24:55.96\00:24:59.53 And so for a woman to be able to go to a training 00:24:59.56\00:25:04.90 that allows them to help other people in this way. 00:25:04.93\00:25:09.20 I have seen women who were shy, who were reserved, turn 00:25:09.40\00:25:13.21 into a completely 00:25:13.24\00:25:14.34 different person within two or three years of working 00:25:14.38\00:25:17.25 as a Gospel Outreach health worker. 00:25:17.28\00:25:19.81 It is incredibly empowering for a woman to be able 00:25:19.85\00:25:23.72 to have a training like this and to be able to help others 00:25:23.75\00:25:27.46 and to work alongside their husbands. 00:25:27.49\00:25:29.89 These women are passionate about spreading the gospel 00:25:29.92\00:25:32.63 and helping others. 00:25:32.66\00:25:33.50 They are on fire for the Lord, 00:25:33.53\00:25:35.96 and when they can effectively 00:25:36.00\00:25:37.57 work side by side with their husbands and receive a stipend. 00:25:37.60\00:25:41.40 Well, that's just one of the most amazing feelings for them. 00:25:41.44\00:25:44.04 Now, as you may know, Gospel Out 00:25:44.07\00:25:47.64 Bible workers throughout the 1040 window. 00:25:47.68\00:25:49.88 Now, with just over 200 health workers 00:25:49.91\00:25:52.15 being sponsored through Gospel O 00:25:52.18\00:25:55.82 We have seen the difference when a husband and wife 00:25:55.98\00:25:58.59 team goes together, going two by two into the highways, 00:25:58.62\00:26:02.29 in the byways, sharing the hope and the love of Jesus. 00:26:02.32\00:26:05.53 This has been an incredibly effective program. 00:26:05.56\00:26:08.43 And so if you are inspired by this partnership 00:26:08.46\00:26:11.33 and you want to sponsor a Gospel Outreach wife 00:26:11.37\00:26:14.44 as a health worker, 00:26:14.57\00:26:16.10 I want to encourage you to go 00:26:16.14\00:26:17.37 to the Gospel Outreach website 00:26:17.41\00:26:18.97 goaim.org 00:26:19.01\00:26:21.28 You can go to the giving tab and there you can donate 00:26:21.31\00:26:25.01 and sponsor a health worker for $75 a month. 00:26:25.05\00:26:28.85 That's right. 00:26:28.88\00:26:29.72 For only $75 a month. 00:26:29.75\00:26:32.15 You can help support a health worker 00:26:32.19\00:26:35.56 working alongside her husband in the 1040 window. 00:26:35.59\00:26:39.23 Thank you for giving me this time. 00:26:39.26\00:26:40.53 And until next time, God bless you. 00:26:40.56\00:26:42.30 Get out there, get involved, 00:26:42.33\00:26:43.53 and I'll see you in the next episode. 00:26:43.57\00:26:46.67 And that was interesting, wasn't it? 00:26:46.70\00:26:48.37 Hearing about the remote church and the needs 00:26:48.40\00:26:50.77 and seeing all those kids up in the mountains in Nepal. 00:26:50.81\00:26:54.11 So we want to say thank you for your prayers 00:26:54.14\00:26:56.34 and your support of the Gospel O 00:26:56.38\00:27:00.08 And as you heard more people need to know about Jesus. 00:27:00.12\00:27:03.08 There are 123 languages, as Charles shared. 00:27:03.12\00:27:06.39 And all those people 00:27:06.42\00:27:07.36 need to hear about Jesus in their language. 00:27:07.39\00:27:10.46 We'd like to encourage you to sign up 00:27:10.49\00:27:12.09 for our free newsletter, 00:27:12.13\00:27:13.36 and you can go to our Website, which is 00:27:13.40\00:27:15.00 goaim.org and look for the icon for the newsletter. 00:27:15.03\00:27:18.93 It's free and we would love to share this with you. 00:27:18.97\00:27:22.00 It talks about GOTV missions. 00:27:22.04\00:27:23.87 It talks about Gospel Outreach. 00:27:23.91\00:27:26.27 It'll share with you 00:27:26.31\00:27:27.44 where you can watch Adventures in Missions 00:27:27.48\00:27:29.78 and also a chat about some prayer requests needs. 00:27:29.81\00:27:33.92 And also you can read about exciting stories from our Gospel 00:27:33.95\00:27:37.69 Outreach workers. 00:27:37.72\00:27:38.69 So thank you so much for joining us here today 00:27:38.72\00:27:40.86 on behalf of Gospel Outreach and Adventures in Missions. 00:27:40.89\00:27:43.56 I'm Julie and may the Lord bless you today. 00:27:43.59\00:27:45.86
