Oh. 00:01:51.35\00:01:54.34 And you just can hardly imagine unless you're there, 00:01:54.37\00:01:59.83 I remember one person that came with me previously, 00:01:59.86\00:02:02.54 he was so car sick the whole time. 00:02:02.57\00:02:08.77 Not straight, narrow roads, Bev? 00:02:08.80\00:02:10.66 That's right. 00:02:10.69\00:02:13.40 Here, all traffic has come to a dead stop 00:02:13.43\00:02:17.03 but look at those rails. Oh, dear. 00:02:17.06\00:02:19.91 And somebody obviously couldn't make it 00:02:19.94\00:02:22.06 because of the rail there but-- 00:02:22.09\00:02:24.69 And you look at the width of the road. Yes. 00:02:24.72\00:02:27.70 And the width of the vehicles to match those. 00:02:27.73\00:02:29.61 The cows. The cows. 00:02:29.64\00:02:31.58 Oh, I love stuff like this. 00:02:31.61\00:02:33.45 And you see how the traffic maneuver in and out. 00:02:33.48\00:02:37.56 Yeah, and you kind of have to pull your shoulders in. 00:02:37.59\00:02:41.20 And let me tell you the picture of that vehicle that's in front 00:02:41.23\00:02:44.35 is surely an IR. Okay. 00:02:44.38\00:02:47.92 So the cameraman is behind. Yes. 00:02:47.95\00:02:51.29 And this is--we passed through several villages on the way up 00:02:51.32\00:02:55.07 and this was, we just want to give you a little flavor 00:02:55.10\00:02:58.76 of the village life on the road. 00:02:58.79\00:03:01.19 But the one thing though is with videos like this 00:03:01.22\00:03:04.85 and I say also with national geographic, 00:03:04.88\00:03:07.65 you can't taste it, smell it, feel it. Yes. 00:03:07.68\00:03:10.25 You can see it but until you experience this for yourself 00:03:10.28\00:03:14.07 and if the Lord's calling you to go on a mission trip, 00:03:14.10\00:03:16.12 I would encourage you to do that, 00:03:16.15\00:03:17.65 become involved with Gospel Outreach 00:03:17.68\00:03:19.07 because really it is one thing to, isn't it right, ladies? 00:03:19.10\00:03:23.24 Yes, yes. It's just even-- 00:03:23.27\00:03:25.30 I call it on sensory overload and it's just it's amazing. 00:03:25.33\00:03:30.63 And they pass as you notice. Yeah. 00:03:30.66\00:03:32.60 And do they honk though? Oh, yes. 00:03:32.63\00:03:35.26 They have a little system for... 00:03:35.29\00:03:36.91 Oh, yeah, they honk on coming through. 00:03:36.94\00:03:39.36 It just better way of a communication. 00:03:39.39\00:03:41.63 Oh, let's get out of my way, I'm coming. Yeah. 00:03:41.66\00:03:44.49 I have learned because I've been going back 00:03:44.52\00:03:48.93 every year for Gospel Outreach, 00:03:48.96\00:03:50.55 I have learned that I can look around and see other things now. 00:03:50.58\00:03:55.06 At first, I had my eyes glued on the road. 00:03:55.09\00:03:57.75 What's happening in front, what will I have to hang on to, 00:03:57.78\00:04:00.72 but now I can look around and see. 00:04:00.75\00:04:03.12 And you could see the manpower 00:04:03.15\00:04:04.87 that is putting this road into actuality. 00:04:04.90\00:04:09.07 The bible says be anxious for nothing above 00:04:09.10\00:04:11.57 and in situations like this 00:04:11.60\00:04:13.20 I have to make sure to pray that. 00:04:13.23\00:04:16.17 Well, at night time, I was not sleeping, 00:04:16.20\00:04:18.93 I was, is the driver awake? 00:04:18.96\00:04:20.81 Is he on the right route? 00:04:20.84\00:04:23.66 Is that a little shrine there on the right? 00:04:23.69\00:04:26.13 That was, yes. 00:04:26.16\00:04:28.47 When there is mountains, you know, 00:04:28.50\00:04:30.40 the bible talks about the high places. 00:04:30.43\00:04:33.86 where they have the groves. 00:04:33.89\00:04:35.75 We are looking at people who are worshipping 00:04:35.78\00:04:38.51 groves of trees in high places. 00:04:38.54\00:04:41.39 I was just reading about that in 2 Kings 00:04:41.42\00:04:43.82 and how the kings did not pull those down. Right. 00:04:43.85\00:04:48.03 And see again, driving around in our town, 00:04:48.06\00:04:51.33 our city, we don't see that. That's right. 00:04:51.36\00:04:55.58 And so to read it in the bible it's-- 00:04:55.61\00:04:58.23 you know, we're reading words on a page 00:04:58.26\00:05:00.26 but you're able to share here with us 00:05:00.29\00:05:02.69 what these people see and they live in part of that. 00:05:02.72\00:05:06.32 And I've been taken to groves 00:05:06.35\00:05:08.68 but I was also asked to stand back 00:05:08.71\00:05:11.13 and not to get too close to desecrate them. 00:05:11.16\00:05:13.78 Oh, you were? Oh, yeah. 00:05:13.81\00:05:15.27 Because as a foreigner or as a Christian? 00:05:15.30\00:05:17.31 As a Christian. Really? 00:05:17.34\00:05:18.72 Yes, yes. Oh. 00:05:18.75\00:05:20.68 Iinteresting because they felt that, what? 00:05:20.71\00:05:23.30 They were holy and we would be desecrating them. 00:05:23.33\00:05:26.33 I just want you to notice here, not only the traffic 00:05:26.36\00:05:30.19 but see how the buildings are on the edge and they're really out, 00:05:30.22\00:05:34.80 the back end is out in the middle of nowhere 00:05:34.83\00:05:36.97 but they are still holding it up. 00:05:37.00\00:05:39.48 They would make good use all of this property. Oh, sure. 00:05:39.51\00:05:44.15 And when there's a group of people 00:05:44.18\00:05:45.83 that gathered together to make their home, 00:05:45.86\00:05:48.53 then their families are going to increase likewise. 00:05:48.56\00:05:52.37 And you notice how the vehicle-- 00:05:52.40\00:05:53.94 I was just going to say enjoy. 00:05:53.97\00:05:55.82 Going up and down, up and down. 00:05:55.85\00:05:57.52 The shocks are getting a good workout there. 00:05:57.55\00:05:59.30 There were no shocks. Yeah. 00:05:59.33\00:06:00.52 They were probably gone long time ago. 00:06:00.55\00:06:03.55 Now when we get to the end of our climbing right here, 00:06:03.58\00:06:07.17 then we go down and you know 00:06:07.20\00:06:08.94 these Marutis that we were in, that's name of the car, 00:06:08.97\00:06:12.52 they don't have much space 00:06:12.55\00:06:14.16 between the lower level of the tire 00:06:14.19\00:06:16.86 and the bottom of the vehicle 00:06:16.89\00:06:18.94 and we went down very rough terrain. 00:06:18.97\00:06:21.94 That's where you kind of brace yourself in the backseat. 00:06:21.97\00:06:24.67 Yes, and you hear a scrape every so often. Yes. 00:06:24.70\00:06:28.04 Well, I need to pause here, tell you about Pau d'arco. 00:06:28.07\00:06:32.59 Many people who are into a homeopathic medicine 00:06:32.62\00:06:35.61 will recognized Pau d'arco, they were harvesting Pau d'arco. 00:06:35.64\00:06:39.80 Is it a root? It's the bark of a tree. 00:06:39.83\00:06:42.54 And they dehydrate it 00:06:42.57\00:06:44.95 and then they put it through different processes 00:06:44.98\00:06:47.87 and they sell it around the world. 00:06:47.90\00:06:49.65 But much of Pau d'arco for all of India 00:06:49.68\00:06:53.35 comes right from this area. 00:06:53.38\00:06:55.63 And do they make it into a powder or...? 00:06:55.66\00:06:57.70 I don't know what process they go to beyond this, 00:06:57.73\00:07:00.90 I know my mother used to take some Pau d'arco 00:07:00.93\00:07:04.69 and forget for what ailments. 00:07:04.72\00:07:06.82 But here's another village-- 00:07:06.85\00:07:07.88 Oh, watch the man on the left. 00:07:07.91\00:07:09.65 Yeah. Wow, that was very close. 00:07:09.68\00:07:12.84 Yes, it gets close and you just have to keep-- 00:07:12.87\00:07:16.26 Inches. Inches. 00:07:16.29\00:07:17.67 So this is in the Ronju valley of Sikkim in India 00:07:17.70\00:07:22.91 where we're praying that the Lord 00:07:22.94\00:07:25.03 do seek him with a capital H. Yes. 00:07:25.06\00:07:29.81 And the goats have found something very luscious. 00:07:29.84\00:07:33.98 And we were sitting, waiting for our vehicle to come up 00:07:34.01\00:07:36.65 because we lost, one of the vehicles they we were in 00:07:36.68\00:07:40.10 lost their springs hitting bottom. Oh, dear. 00:07:40.13\00:07:42.80 And we had to walk 5 kilometers through the top of the hill 00:07:42.83\00:07:46.02 and then go down the hill to the closest village 00:07:46.05\00:07:49.12 where we could get repair 00:07:49.15\00:07:51.55 and so now we're in the village where it got repaired. 00:07:51.58\00:07:55.08 And this is just all in attempts to get to church? 00:07:55.11\00:07:57.78 On the way home from church. 00:07:57.81\00:07:59.03 On the way home from church. 00:07:59.06\00:08:00.09 Well, we were going on the way home 00:08:00.12\00:08:01.51 from one church to another church. 00:08:01.54\00:08:04.26 But we didn't make it till after dark 00:08:04.29\00:08:07.04 because it just-- Because of the situation. 00:08:07.07\00:08:09.64 Yes, and they were tying the spring on the car with rope 00:08:09.67\00:08:14.28 and of course it snapped 00:08:14.31\00:08:15.58 and then every once and while we were-- 00:08:15.61\00:08:16.99 Straps, that's what I've learned, 00:08:17.02\00:08:18.31 you always travel with straps. 00:08:18.34\00:08:20.65 Now one thing that is interesting-- 00:08:20.68\00:08:21.99 oh, look, here's you know, Singer sewing machines 00:08:22.02\00:08:24.79 you can see around the world. That's right. 00:08:24.82\00:08:26.80 And if you have a sewing machine you have a trade. 00:08:26.83\00:08:29.60 That's right. 00:08:29.63\00:08:31.10 Do you remember what he was making? 00:08:31.13\00:08:33.25 No, this was in the valley where the-- 00:08:33.28\00:08:35.66 in the village where the car was being repaired 00:08:35.69\00:08:38.54 and it just was such a typical scene that this was taken. 00:08:38.57\00:08:44.31 And I noticed the painting in the houses, 00:08:44.34\00:08:46.55 they're very bright and cherry and-- 00:08:46.58\00:08:48.56 Colorful. Oh, yeah. 00:08:48.59\00:08:50.03 Up in the north there, especially it seems that 00:08:50.06\00:08:52.35 they have more decorations in their homes and they made-- 00:08:52.38\00:08:56.72 More flowers around the house, 00:08:56.75\00:08:59.31 more, even some window boxes. 00:08:59.34\00:09:01.36 Yeah. Very interesting. 00:09:01.39\00:09:03.03 They kind of remind me to see 00:09:03.06\00:09:04.12 some of the flags like you see in Nepal 00:09:04.15\00:09:06.78 associated with Mount Everest, the prayer flags. Yes. 00:09:06.81\00:09:09.32 And they were in lot of different colors. 00:09:09.35\00:09:10.56 So take us on another little adventure here. 00:09:10.59\00:09:13.30 Even me riding on motorcycle, that's me. 00:09:13.33\00:09:18.03 There you are, I see. 00:09:18.06\00:09:19.09 With the Gospel Outreach worker. 00:09:19.12\00:09:20.88 And we are going up to this beautiful little church. 00:09:20.91\00:09:26.38 I have to tell you just a little bit about this place, 00:09:26.41\00:09:30.22 up in the Himalaya Mountains there, 00:09:30.25\00:09:34.22 you can just see the Himalayas in the background there 00:09:34.25\00:09:36.48 but it's rather dusky because this is the season 00:09:36.51\00:09:39.37 when they're doing a lot of burning 00:09:39.40\00:09:40.69 just at the end of their dry season, 00:09:40.72\00:09:42.89 before the rainy season comes. 00:09:42.92\00:09:44.45 They're cleaning up their forest, 00:09:44.48\00:09:45.71 they're cleaning up their gardens and it's smoky. 00:09:45.74\00:09:48.52 But look at that beautiful valley there 00:09:48.55\00:09:51.35 and we have gone up narrow, windy, bumpy roads 00:09:51.38\00:09:56.93 and then we come down a steep hill 00:09:56.96\00:10:01.20 into this area and this is a village. 00:10:01.23\00:10:03.94 You can hardly see anything there. 00:10:03.97\00:10:05.27 You see the flag in the middle, that's a Buddhist flag. 00:10:05.30\00:10:09.78 This is the activity of this village 00:10:09.81\00:10:12.83 way up there in the Himalaya Mountains. 00:10:12.86\00:10:14.97 Is it cold up there? 00:10:15.00\00:10:16.87 When we were there, I think I didn't have to wear a sweater. 00:10:16.90\00:10:21.28 We didn't wear a sweater. Okay. 00:10:21.31\00:10:22.34 It was perfect, actually, probably 75. 00:10:22.37\00:10:25.71 They have a satellite dish clear up there. Yes, yes. 00:10:25.74\00:10:28.69 But I want you to see our walk going up there. 00:10:28.72\00:10:31.45 You know, we're going single file 00:10:31.48\00:10:33.31 and that is not a paved walkway, 00:10:33.34\00:10:35.71 those are stones and a dirt pathway 00:10:35.74\00:10:39.45 and you have to watch when you're walking very carefully, 00:10:39.48\00:10:42.35 Shirley in the lead and-- 00:10:42.38\00:10:43.66 There's Wade Brooks from Gospel Outreach. Right. 00:10:43.69\00:10:46.34 And then the supervisor 00:10:46.37\00:10:48.30 of our Gospel Outreach workers that I'm following 00:10:48.33\00:10:51.62 and then the president of the region there, the section 00:10:51.65\00:10:56.42 and we're all going up this steep pathway 00:10:56.45\00:11:01.52 and we are going up to a church 00:11:01.55\00:11:05.04 that has been built since I was there last year. 00:11:05.07\00:11:08.14 Oh, really? 00:11:08.17\00:11:09.47 The people there at that time said, 00:11:09.50\00:11:12.78 can you help us to build a church? 00:11:12.81\00:11:14.99 And I said, if you have the property? 00:11:15.02\00:11:17.37 And they said, oh, we do. 00:11:17.40\00:11:18.51 This is donated property, come see it. 00:11:18.54\00:11:20.65 And they took me up to this place. 00:11:20.68\00:11:22.78 And then while they were there, 00:11:22.81\00:11:26.02 they said, we would want to build a church here 00:11:26.05\00:11:30.33 and they found a donor to start this church. 00:11:30.36\00:11:33.39 I got an email in July saying, our church is almost finished. 00:11:33.42\00:11:38.29 That is a church worth a view. 00:11:38.32\00:11:39.98 Isn't it something? 00:11:40.01\00:11:41.73 And it has a baptistery and a toilet 00:11:41.76\00:11:44.16 and look at that beautiful little church. 00:11:44.19\00:11:45.62 Isn't it darling? 00:11:45.65\00:11:46.68 When they didn't have enough money, 00:11:46.71\00:11:49.00 I've sent them $1,000 to finish it. 00:11:49.03\00:11:51.21 Praise the Lord. 00:11:51.24\00:11:52.29 And look at this man coming, he is blind. 00:11:52.32\00:11:54.88 Bless his heart. 00:11:54.91\00:11:55.94 He's been blind since he was about 7 or 8 years old, 00:11:55.97\00:11:58.62 did I remember right? Yes. 00:11:58.65\00:12:00.54 And it was a disease. Result of measles. 00:12:00.57\00:12:03.99 The measles, that's right. Oh, really? 00:12:04.02\00:12:05.58 But this was inside that bright and shining church. 00:12:05.61\00:12:08.74 And look how they take their outside. 00:12:08.77\00:12:10.86 Oh, cute little girls. 00:12:10.89\00:12:12.29 And these little girls in the front row, 00:12:12.32\00:12:14.43 they were singing their heart out, 00:12:14.46\00:12:16.04 beautiful little girls. 00:12:16.07\00:12:17.91 And they knew the song. 00:12:17.94\00:12:21.20 Paul reminds us in those scriptures that, 00:13:08.86\00:13:11.50 "The whole family in heaven and earth is named." 00:13:11.53\00:13:16.68 (Speaking in foreign language) 00:13:16.71\00:13:24.68 "There is no ocean big enough to separate the family of God." 00:13:30.49\00:13:36.09 (Speaking in foreign language) 00:13:36.12\00:13:44.01 When we take these good reports back to the US, 00:13:44.04\00:13:47.51 many hearts are encourage 00:13:47.54\00:13:49.19 to help support the work to grow in this area. 00:13:49.22\00:13:53.11 (Speaking in foreign language) 00:13:53.14\00:14:01.11 I said when I was planning my trip to India... 00:14:24.81\00:14:26.73 (Speaking in foreign language) 00:14:26.76\00:14:29.76 And they went to the court... 00:14:29.79\00:14:31.75 (Speaking in foreign language) 00:14:31.78\00:14:33.19 I couldn't stop. 00:14:33.22\00:14:34.67 (Speaking in foreign language) 00:14:34.70\00:14:36.53 They just was running late. 00:14:36.56\00:14:38.87 (Speaking in foreign language) 00:14:38.90\00:14:42.40 And the water coming lower. 00:14:42.43\00:14:44.23 (Speaking in foreign language) 00:14:44.26\00:14:46.93 Praise the Lord. 00:14:46.96\00:14:48.22 (Speaking in foreign language) 00:14:48.25\00:14:51.75 Just to meet us and shake our hands, 00:15:32.85\00:15:35.03 it was just, it was precious. 00:15:35.06\00:15:37.86 So just think of how far that little trailer was 00:15:37.89\00:15:41.51 that you showed us just walking-- 00:15:41.54\00:15:42.99 watching all of you go up with your handbags and your bibles. 00:15:43.02\00:15:46.50 But to think about bringing all the material 00:15:46.53\00:15:48.53 to build this church by that pathway-- 00:15:48.56\00:15:51.23 Wow. Yes. 00:15:51.26\00:15:53.13 Now this church has brick and mortar up to the window ledge 00:15:53.16\00:15:57.71 and then they have tin up to the roof. 00:15:57.74\00:16:01.04 But it is also insulated on the inside with some-- 00:16:01.07\00:16:05.97 it might even be asbestos. 00:16:06.00\00:16:07.93 But there's kind of blocking there on the inside 00:16:07.96\00:16:11.21 which makes it very nice. 00:16:11.24\00:16:13.23 And then they actually have really, real windows in that. 00:16:13.26\00:16:17.88 So does this area get super cold in the winter time? 00:16:17.91\00:16:20.56 Well, where they are and the altitude that they are, 00:16:20.59\00:16:24.28 it's very possible that they get some snow there. 00:16:24.31\00:16:27.27 It is cold and they don't have central heating like we have. 00:16:27.30\00:16:32.51 We really feel it. Yeah, sure. 00:16:32.54\00:16:35.38 So this area of India, are these people-- 00:16:35.41\00:16:38.54 oh, there's the whole group. 00:16:38.57\00:16:41.44 This area, are these people Buddhist? 00:16:41.47\00:16:43.74 Are they Hindus? 00:16:43.77\00:16:45.07 Buddhist is the primary religion in this area. 00:16:45.10\00:16:48.87 And you have to realize that 00:16:48.90\00:16:50.55 Buddhism is an offshoot of Hinduism. 00:16:50.58\00:16:54.52 And so there is some mixing. Overlap? 00:16:54.55\00:16:57.48 Yes, and they do have a lot of Hindus in the area also 00:16:57.51\00:17:02.47 but Buddhism is the primary. 00:17:02.50\00:17:04.77 I wish you could have seen the sight 00:17:04.80\00:17:06.70 that this church was on it was just, 00:17:06.73\00:17:09.53 it reminded me of a beacon 00:17:09.56\00:17:12.56 overlooking the village down below 00:17:12.59\00:17:15.32 here, I stood there for a while just looking over the valley, 00:17:15.35\00:17:19.13 over the gardens that were going down the hill 00:17:19.16\00:17:22.74 and it was just, it was a place that you'd feel like, 00:17:22.77\00:17:26.34 oh, if we could just stay here a while. 00:17:26.37\00:17:28.79 And you probably need more Gospel Outreach workers 00:17:28.82\00:17:31.83 in your area, right, Bev? Do we? 00:17:31.86\00:17:35.40 The thing is the director in this area 00:17:35.43\00:17:39.35 has located groups of ten, I say quite a vast area 00:17:39.38\00:17:45.53 but, so there is a pocket here and then it'll spread out 00:17:45.56\00:17:49.99 and then they have another pocket in another place 00:17:50.02\00:17:52.25 and they will spread out. 00:17:52.28\00:17:53.90 And the leader has a dream of spreading out 00:17:53.93\00:17:56.83 into two more pockets soon. 00:17:56.86\00:17:59.32 And they would like to have ten more here and ten more there 00:17:59.35\00:18:02.84 and then when that gets going, 00:18:02.87\00:18:04.13 then they'll like another ten more. 00:18:04.16\00:18:05.77 Sure, a ripple effect. Yes. 00:18:05.80\00:18:08.10 When you throw the pebble in the water and it just ripples 00:18:08.13\00:18:11.78 and I think the Lord is calling us to do. 00:18:11.81\00:18:13.93 So how long ago was there 00:18:13.96\00:18:17.12 Adventist Christian work here in this particular...? 00:18:17.15\00:18:20.51 In this particular, only 2 years. 00:18:20.54\00:18:23.03 Only 2 years? Yes. 00:18:23.06\00:18:24.19 And these people have decided to accept the Lord. Yes. 00:18:24.22\00:18:26.76 Now I want to tell you, this was on the Sabbath 00:18:26.79\00:18:29.06 and it was dedicating a church, 00:18:29.09\00:18:33.02 but that's what the service was for, 00:18:33.05\00:18:34.82 and so they invited us to celebration meal. 00:18:34.85\00:18:38.21 And we got to dine with them in the outdoors 00:18:38.24\00:18:42.89 with all of those church members. 00:18:42.92\00:18:44.16 Praise the Lord. 00:18:44.19\00:18:45.22 What a beautiful blessing it was. 00:18:45.25\00:18:46.93 And it was a perfect day. 00:18:46.96\00:18:48.66 It was just beautiful, warm, 00:18:48.69\00:18:52.18 after the service, after the meal 00:18:52.21\00:18:54.37 we had to leave and we were able to walk 00:18:54.40\00:18:56.97 for part of the way up the hill. 00:18:57.00\00:18:58.52 And you didn't want to leave, right, Shirley? 00:18:58.55\00:18:59.71 Yeah, I didn't, it was just-- 00:18:59.74\00:19:01.86 I know that feeling when you have new friends in the Lord 00:19:01.89\00:19:04.89 you certainly don't want to leave. 00:19:04.92\00:19:06.85 Well, you've heard about the need 00:19:06.88\00:19:09.08 for more Gospel Outreach workers, 00:19:09.11\00:19:11.08 you have seen this area where just 2 years ago, 00:19:11.11\00:19:13.50 there wasn't any Adventist Christian work there 00:19:13.53\00:19:15.63 and this is where the second invitation comes to you. 00:19:15.66\00:19:18.95 We ask you to get involved so that we can sponsor 00:19:18.98\00:19:22.85 more Gospel Outreach workers in the 10/40 window 00:19:22.88\00:19:26.96 that goes all the way from West Africa over to Japan, 00:19:26.99\00:19:29.79 heavily, heavily populated area of our world. 00:19:29.82\00:19:32.60 And the Lord has called us to share his love with these people 00:19:32.63\00:19:36.67 and want you to join us, 00:19:36.70\00:19:38.11 we would like to share some information 00:19:38.14\00:19:39.74 on how you can be part of Gospel Outreach 00:19:39.77\00:19:42.30 in helping as we share the love of Jesus. 00:19:42.33\00:19:45.63 Gospel Outreach began a mission 20 years ago 00:19:47.94\00:19:50.52 by asking one simple question. 00:19:50.55\00:19:52.79 In a world filled with famine, hunger and starvation, 00:19:52.82\00:19:56.64 what is Jesus waiting for? 00:19:56.67\00:19:59.13 In a world filled with earthquakes, 00:19:59.16\00:20:00.78 hurricanes and natural calamities, 00:20:00.81\00:20:03.02 what is Jesus waiting for? 00:20:03.05\00:20:05.76 The gospel tells us in Matthew 24:14, 00:20:05.79\00:20:09.01 "And this gospel of the kingdom 00:20:09.04\00:20:10.50 shall be preached in all the world 00:20:10.53\00:20:12.41 for a witness unto all nations, and then shall the end come." 00:20:12.44\00:20:16.45 Inspired by those words, Gospel Outreach began 00:20:19.21\00:20:21.93 with one worker and over the past 20 years, 00:20:21.96\00:20:24.61 it's grown into an organization 00:20:24.64\00:20:26.24 with 2,200 workers in 40 plus countries. 00:20:26.27\00:20:30.50 Gospel Outreach is an independent 00:20:30.53\00:20:32.38 Seventh-day Adventist lay ministry 00:20:32.41\00:20:34.14 run entirely by volunteers. 00:20:34.17\00:20:37.29 Gospel Outreach works with the organized church 00:20:37.32\00:20:39.88 to sponsor Bible workers in the 10/40 Window. 00:20:39.91\00:20:42.83 Now what exactly is the 10/40 Window? 00:20:42.86\00:20:47.41 The 10/40 Window is a region of the eastern hemisphere 00:20:47.44\00:20:50.10 located between 10 and 40 degrees north of the equator. 00:20:50.13\00:20:54.23 What makes this region special? 00:20:54.26\00:20:56.90 97% of all the people in the world 00:20:56.93\00:20:59.36 who'd never heard the name of Jesus live here. 00:20:59.39\00:21:02.83 Now how exactly does Gospel Outreach work 00:21:02.86\00:21:05.62 to reach these people? 00:21:05.65\00:21:07.99 We do this by working with the church 00:21:08.02\00:21:09.50 as it places trained indigenous workers in new territories, 00:21:09.53\00:21:13.43 sending out disciples just as Jesus did. 00:21:13.46\00:21:16.16 When a Bible worker sponsored 00:21:16.19\00:21:18.22 by Gospel Outreach enters a new village, 00:21:18.25\00:21:19.96 it's estimated that in the first year, 00:21:19.99\00:21:22.62 an additional 300 individuals will be baptized 00:21:22.65\00:21:25.93 and commit their lives to Christ. 00:21:25.96\00:21:28.26 Individuals who have never heard 00:21:28.29\00:21:30.70 the amazing story of God's love 00:21:30.73\00:21:32.69 are getting to meet Jesus for the first time. 00:21:32.72\00:21:35.80 Now how can you help? 00:21:35.83\00:21:37.76 Bible workers rely on sponsorships 00:21:37.79\00:21:39.82 to support them and their families 00:21:39.85\00:21:41.54 as they share the unconditional love of God. 00:21:41.57\00:21:45.51 This is why Gospel Outreach is introducing 00:21:45.54\00:21:47.68 our Adopt-A-Worker program, 00:21:47.71\00:21:49.96 together with the church we identify 00:21:49.99\00:21:52.26 new workers in areas that need to be reached. 00:21:52.29\00:21:54.84 That is why it's our goal to introduce 00:21:54.87\00:21:56.65 a million new people to Jesus in the next three years. 00:21:56.68\00:22:00.47 All that is remaining for this work to begin 00:22:00.50\00:22:02.77 is your financial help. 00:22:02.80\00:22:05.56 In return, we will keep you updated 00:22:05.59\00:22:07.70 on the exciting progress of your worker 00:22:07.73\00:22:10.09 sending you stories and pictures 00:22:10.12\00:22:11.96 of the lives changed by your donations. 00:22:11.99\00:22:15.00 There are three ways you can get involved. 00:22:15.03\00:22:17.38 You can be a prayer partner for Gospel Outreach 00:22:17.41\00:22:19.64 by praying for our Bible workers. 00:22:19.67\00:22:22.19 Second, become an ambassador for our Adopt-A-Worker program 00:22:22.22\00:22:25.20 by telling your family and friends 00:22:25.23\00:22:26.82 about how they can make a difference too. 00:22:26.85\00:22:29.50 And finally, sponsor a Bible worker. 00:22:29.53\00:22:32.47 Call or visit the website today. 00:22:32.50\00:22:35.26 So now that you know a bit about Gospel Outreach 00:22:35.29\00:22:37.80 and now that you know what Jesus is waiting for, 00:22:37.83\00:22:41.01 the final question is what are you waiting for? 00:22:41.04\00:22:44.62 So the invitation is out there, 00:22:47.98\00:22:49.52 what are you waiting for? 00:22:49.55\00:22:50.82 And we hope and pray that you give to Gospel Outreach 00:22:50.85\00:22:56.09 so that more workers can go into the field and share Jesus. 00:22:56.12\00:22:59.89 You can go to our website to donate securely and safely. 00:22:59.92\00:23:02.69 It's www.goaim.org. So, goaim.org. 00:23:02.72\00:23:08.69 And we have Bev Thompson and Shirley Panasuk here 00:23:08.72\00:23:11.64 who are talking about the Ronju valley 00:23:11.67\00:23:13.78 where you recently visited 00:23:13.81\00:23:15.59 in an area called Sikkim, is that correct? Yes. 00:23:15.62\00:23:18.68 And let's just pray that more people there seek Him, 00:23:18.71\00:23:21.80 the Lord Jesus Christ in that area. 00:23:21.83\00:23:23.97 Isn't that the truth? 00:23:24.00\00:23:25.03 And you know there is a movement in that area 00:23:25.06\00:23:27.14 because we've started it 00:23:27.17\00:23:28.34 with ten Gospel Outreach workers in Sikkim. 00:23:28.37\00:23:30.89 And this movement is a joint effort 00:23:30.92\00:23:33.81 to spread the gospel in that area. 00:23:33.84\00:23:36.25 Well, and this Adopt-a-Gospel Outreach worker 00:23:36.28\00:23:38.36 is really neat because people can do that 00:23:38.39\00:23:40.80 and then they can find out 00:23:40.83\00:23:42.75 and here from their Gospel Outreach worker, 00:23:42.78\00:23:45.27 receiving email pictures, things like that 00:23:45.30\00:23:47.08 about what's going on and to me, 00:23:47.11\00:23:49.14 that also makes the connection even stronger 00:23:49.17\00:23:51.80 to be able to encourage the Gospel Outreach worker 00:23:51.83\00:23:54.58 and back and forth between that friendship that... 00:23:54.61\00:23:58.00 Can I tell you just a little bit about my part in Adopt-A-Worker? 00:23:58.03\00:24:01.47 Yeah. 00:24:01.50\00:24:02.59 When I went out there this time, 00:24:02.62\00:24:05.71 I made a point of taking a picture 00:24:05.74\00:24:08.01 of every Gospel Outreach worker. 00:24:08.04\00:24:09.99 They actually stood for a mug shot with their name 00:24:10.02\00:24:13.16 written on a piece of paper in front of them. 00:24:13.19\00:24:15.61 And when I came home, then it was my job 00:24:15.64\00:24:19.25 to put them on the internet and say, 00:24:19.28\00:24:21.95 these are the statistics about this person 00:24:21.98\00:24:25.02 and then I required them to send me a story 00:24:25.05\00:24:30.47 and if possible a picture of something 00:24:30.50\00:24:32.99 that has happened to them in the last 3 months. 00:24:33.02\00:24:35.66 But they are also required by the mission 00:24:35.69\00:24:39.07 to have a story every month. I like it. 00:24:39.10\00:24:42.02 So then I'm able to pass these stories 00:24:42.05\00:24:45.51 on to the person who adopts them. 00:24:45.54\00:24:48.02 That's a fabulous way to get acquainted 00:24:48.05\00:24:50.67 with the worker that you're adopting. 00:24:50.70\00:24:52.62 Absolutely and you know Paul talks so much 00:24:52.65\00:24:55.48 in his writings about encouraging each other. 00:24:55.51\00:24:58.65 And we have to encourage each other, we have to do that 00:24:58.68\00:25:01.89 and what a great opportunity to do that 00:25:01.92\00:25:03.87 by an email to your Gospel Outreach worker. 00:25:03.90\00:25:05.90 But you know what, it also stimulates 00:25:05.93\00:25:07.96 the Gospel Outreach worker. 00:25:07.99\00:25:09.22 Oh, sure, that's my point. Yes. 00:25:09.25\00:25:10.99 We can encourage them, yes. 00:25:11.02\00:25:12.87 The Gospel Outreach worker is encouraged 00:25:12.90\00:25:15.60 and then the person who is supporting them 00:25:15.63\00:25:17.32 is encouraged, it's all positive. 00:25:17.35\00:25:20.09 And I just pray that the Lord is smiling down. 00:25:20.12\00:25:23.78 I'm sure He is. Yes. 00:25:23.81\00:25:25.19 So as you have come home now and after being over there, 00:25:25.22\00:25:31.53 what is the biggest need? 00:25:31.56\00:25:33.69 What is on your heart, Shirley, 00:25:33.72\00:25:35.69 for what you've saw the Gospel Outreach workers? 00:25:35.72\00:25:40.26 Pray, pray, pray and then give your offerings. 00:25:40.29\00:25:44.28 There's little time left, Jesus is coming so soon, 00:25:44.31\00:25:49.13 we just don't have time to waste. 00:25:49.16\00:25:51.16 I just want to give everything I've got to help 00:25:51.19\00:25:56.17 these Gospel Outreach workers do what they have to do. 00:25:56.20\00:25:59.91 And build the churches because 00:25:59.94\00:26:01.50 if people don't have a place to come to worship... 00:26:01.53\00:26:04.34 Yes. They just disintegrate. 00:26:04.37\00:26:08.97 How about you, Bev? 00:26:09.00\00:26:10.03 And the churches are not that expensive, you know. 00:26:10.06\00:26:12.88 We can get a church built for $4,000. 00:26:12.91\00:26:16.54 We call them lamb shelters 00:26:16.57\00:26:18.09 if they're little bit less than a room than our church. 00:26:18.12\00:26:22.04 But I see the need for Gospel Outreach workers 00:26:22.07\00:26:25.62 in every location I go.
