00:16 Welcome to Adventures in Missions
00:17 with Gospel Outreach. 00:18 I am Julie Sanders Keymer. 00:19 And today, we have the opportunity of hearing 00:22 more about the Philippines. 00:24 And Fred and Arlene Webb, 00:25 welcome to Adventures in Missions. 00:26 Thank you. 00:28 So you folks are in charge of the Gospel Outreach 00:30 workers in the Philippine. 00:32 That's correct. 00:33 And you recently got back from the trip and how was it? 00:36 Wonderful. Great. 00:38 And who all did you visit? 00:40 Oh, we visited everything from Barangay in the North 00:42 to General Santos in the South. 00:44 Wonderful. And Arlene, what was the best part of the whole trip? 00:47 Well, I just enjoyed meeting the people. 00:49 That is to me so thrilling to hear 00:51 their stories of how they came to the Lord. 00:54 Now, Fred, how about you? 00:55 What was something that stood out from this trip? 00:58 Again, meeting the people and seeing the changes 01:00 that take place in their lives 01:02 when they accept Christ as their Savior. 01:04 How wonderful. 01:05 And how many Gospel Outreach workers are in your territory? 01:08 Fifty five. Fifty five, fifty five. 01:11 Wonderful, well, you got some pictures 01:12 and you are gonna take us on a trip. 01:14 All right. We're gonna start on the island of Samar. 01:19 Samar happens to be the third largest island 01:21 in the Philippines but there are very few 01:24 Seventh-day Adventists there. 01:26 And just very recently we got an Adopt-A-Worker 01:30 stationed there in Samar. 01:32 You'll learn more about the Adopt-A-Worker 01:34 later in the program but this first picture 01:37 that we have here is our worker there. 01:39 Ephraim Carrera on the left and when he first went there 01:44 and the time these pictures were taken 01:46 he had been there for two months. 01:48 So hadn't been very long 01:49 but he had found this older gentleman here, 01:51 Carlitos who had been a Seventh-day Adventist 01:55 and has volunteered to be his assistance without pay. 02:00 And so they are working together now 02:02 to try to win people for the church. 02:04 So what's it like in the Philippines? 02:06 Are the Philippines heavily religious group of people, 02:11 are they interested in learning more about Christ? 02:15 Well, when we first visited the Philippines back in 1993 02:19 it was over-- there was about 98% Catholics. 02:23 Today it's only about 80% Catholics. 02:25 So there are Protestants. 02:26 There are many Protestants 02:28 and there are many Muslims and many animists. 02:32 Okay, all right, that kind of gives us some idea. Yeah. 02:35 And so here he's been working here 02:37 and these are some of those he's been studying with. 02:40 Some that he has found that are interested 02:42 in learning more about the gospel. 02:46 There's a grandma. They're old and a young. 02:49 And there were two, I didn't quite figure out, 02:52 there were two elderly ladies here in this home 02:56 who was a grandma and who was what 02:58 but anyway there were two elderly ladies there 03:00 but he's giving Bible study to them. 03:03 So help us have an idea, most people have 03:06 heard of Manila in the Philippines. 03:08 So where are we in conjunction to Manila? 03:11 We are South-East of Manila. 03:14 Manila is on the island of Luzon in the North 03:17 and Samar is one of, what they call the Sian islands, 03:21 the ones in the middle. 03:22 Then down to the south we have Mindanao. 03:26 You can tell his Bible has been used. 03:28 It's quite well worn but he was giving the Bible studies 03:32 from what I could tell without notes, 03:34 just using his Bible. 03:36 Just a young man but he seems to know. 03:38 This is one of the interested people 03:40 who wanted to know more about Jesus Christ. Wonderful. 03:44 This is the home of another one of his interest 03:47 and they-- I think believe 03:48 they do have service here on Sabbath. 03:51 Oh, so in his home, okay. 03:53 This is not--this is the home of one of the interest. 03:59 There was a church there at one time 04:01 but it had disintegrated. 04:04 There was a building but no people 04:07 and so he has now gather together 04:10 some that had been former Seventh-day Adventists 04:12 and they are not coming back to the church. 04:14 So now the church has been used every Sabbath. 04:16 Oh, praise the Lord. 04:18 Now we are on the other side of the island. 04:20 That was on the western coast, 04:21 now we are over on the Eastern coast 04:22 in a place called Llorente and this is where Fred Fragoso, 04:27 he was the former literature evangelist. 04:30 And now he's a Gospel Outreach worker 04:33 and he's using his literature evangelism 04:36 as a means of opening the doors. 04:38 Literally. Literally. 04:40 And getting them to be interested in the program. 04:44 His wife, this is on the Sabbath morning, 04:47 his wife is here conducting the Sabbath school 04:49 for the children, outside. 04:51 Bless their hearts. 04:52 The adults are inside and this is a house. 04:55 And it's a very, well, living room is quite small. 05:02 But you can see they are packed in there pretty tight. 05:04 And the hospitality of the home owners 05:06 to have the people come, how good is that. 05:07 Well, he's the one living in the house. Okay. 05:09 They rented the house for his home and services. 05:13 I've been there for two baptisms and this is the second one. 05:18 He's only been there now 05:20 I think just a little over a year. 05:22 He has about 50 members. Praise the Lord. 05:25 And so they are lined up down on-- 05:26 well, what you see in the background is the ocean. 05:29 I was going to say they are at the beach. 05:30 Yeah. But the baptism is in the river. 05:33 Now this lady has the largest goiter I think I've ever seem. 05:37 You know here in the States if we have a health problem 05:40 we go to the hospital and we get it taken care of. 05:42 That's true. 05:43 There, they have to say, 05:44 how much is this going to cost? 05:47 And if they can't afford it, they don't get treatment. 05:50 They may die early or they may suffer 05:53 but without the money they just don't get treatment. 05:55 And so she had this huge goiter. 05:57 She was going to baptize, 05:58 now the baptism is actually in a river 06:01 right where it goes runs out into the ocean. 06:03 Beautiful. The same place where I was a year before 06:06 and there had been heavy rains 06:07 and it looked like mud but this time 06:09 it was nice clean water and was a much nicer situation. 06:15 This lady said, I want to be a Christian. 06:18 I want to be a Seventh-day Adventist. 06:20 And so goiter and all she was baptized. Bless her heart. 06:24 This picture was taken a year ago when I was there. 06:27 They had bought this piece of property to build a church 06:30 where they could meet together and notice carefully 06:34 there is a concrete wall there beside. 06:36 Oh yeah, there on the right. 06:37 And they concrete is still there but now there is a church. 06:40 Oh great. 06:41 They have built the church and it's not quite finished 06:44 obviously but making great progress. 06:48 And they've got the banana tree is all around. Right. 06:51 They have a water source, 06:52 they drilled a well and they have a CR. 06:56 A CR is what they would call, we would call a restroom. Okay. 06:59 But absolutely, obviously there's no privacy there yet 07:02 but will probably put up some sticks 07:04 and stretch a tarp around the outside of that. 07:07 Wow. So they are all ready. 07:08 I can say is, wow. 07:11 We are on another village now, this is Giporlos. 07:13 In Giporlos this young man is only been there one month 07:17 but there had been worker there before him 07:19 and so there's already a group of people 07:21 that have been gather together. 07:22 Oh, look at them all. 07:23 And you'll notice most of them are youth 07:27 and they seem to the ones that are most interested 07:29 in learning about Jesus. 07:31 So what language are these people speaking, 07:32 is it Tagalog or is it-- Visayan. 07:34 Visayan. Visayan or sometimes it's called Cebuano. 07:37 Do they speak any English? 07:38 Most of them do. Okay. 07:40 Because English is one of the official languages. 07:42 Of the Philippines. 07:44 And then we went down the river to be baptized. Nice. 07:48 That's one of the inspiring things 07:49 about going as we see so many baptisms taking place. 07:54 Okay, now we are at the town of Marabut 07:57 and here we have our geo worker, 07:59 his name is George Taladua. 08:02 And this is his humble church. 08:05 It's not quite finish but they are meeting there. 08:07 He has a congregation, 08:09 many of--most of which are young people. 08:12 Here we have him with our 08:14 Conference President Pastor Ben Mahinay 08:19 and our worker there George, 08:22 he decided to be little more dressed up 08:24 so he had gone and change his shirt. 08:27 Great. And that this is the inside of the church, 08:30 you see their backless benches, 08:32 you get quite ventilation though. 08:34 Yeah, absolutely. The wind blow when it comes. 08:38 They call all the members available to come 08:40 and we had a little meeting and the next picture shows 08:43 little quartet of young girls. 08:46 As I say the big part is this congregation 08:48 are these young people. 08:49 So why is that? Are young people really searching? 08:53 Are they learning more, hearing more about Jesus? 08:56 Why the young people? 08:57 Well, I think that he being young himself 08:59 sort of seeks out the young people. 09:03 The people lived next door the ones 09:05 that donated the land 09:07 and most of the building material for the church 09:09 but they are part of the congregation, 09:11 these young people. 09:12 And we had a nice meeting, they sang, 09:14 we all sang then Fred talked and I talked 09:17 and then we went down to the ocean, 09:19 just across the road was the ocean. 09:21 We went down just a little ways about a half mile 09:23 where they found a nice little beach there 09:26 and we had the members there, there are five children, 09:31 I shouldn't say children, young people being baptized. 09:34 They were age nine to sixteen. Nine to sixteen. 09:38 And there our pastor Ben baptizing there in the ocean 09:40 and now they are just coming in after their baptism. 09:43 I love to see young people give their hearts to the Lord 09:46 because they have a whole life serve Him. 09:49 They certainly do. 09:50 Well, Arlene and Fred, thank you for being here 09:51 and sharing with us about the Philippines 09:53 and we want to encourage you to be a part of Gospel Outreach 09:57 and to be able to fund the Gospel Outreach workers 09:59 that's where you become a missionary. 10:01 And you become a missionary with your pocketbook. 10:04 And we want to say thank you so much for that. 10:06 We have a really neat program here at Gospel Outreach 10:08 its called Adopt-A-Worker 10:10 and we like to share more information with you about that. 10:13 Gospel outreach began a mission 20 years ago 10:16 by asking one simple question, 10:18 in a world filled with famine, 10:20 hunger and starvation what is Jesus waiting for? 10:25 In a world filled with earthquakes, 10:26 hurricane and natural calamities what is Jesus waiting for? 10:31 The gospel tells us in Matthew 24:14, 10:34 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached 10:37 in all the world for a witness unto all nations, 10:40 and then shall the end come." 10:44 Inspired by those words, Gospel Outreach 10:47 began with one worker and over the past 20 years, 10:50 it's grown into an organization 10:52 with 2,200 workers in 40 plus countries. 10:56 Gospel Outreach is an independent 10:58 Seventh-day Adventist lay ministry run 11:00 entirely by volunteers. 11:03 Gospel Outreach works with the organized church 11:05 to sponsor Bible workers in the 10/40 Window. 11:09 Now what exactly is the 10/40 Window? 11:13 The 10/40 Window is a region of the eastern hemisphere 11:16 located between 10 and 40 degrees north of the equator. 11:20 What makes this region special? 11:22 97% of all the people in the world 11:25 who'd never heard the name of Jesus live here. 11:28 Now how exactly does Gospel Outreach work 11:31 to reach these people? 11:33 We do this by working with the church as it places 11:36 trained indigenous workers in new territories, 11:39 sending out disciples just as Jesus did. 11:42 When a Bible worker sponsored by 11:44 Gospel Outreach enters a new village, 11:46 it's estimated that in the first year, 11:48 an additional 300 individuals will be baptized 11:52 and commit their lives to Christ. 11:54 Individuals who have never heard the amazing story 11:57 of God's love are getting to meet Jesus 11:59 for the first time. 12:01 Now how can you help? 12:03 Bible workers rely on sponsorships to support them 12:06 and their families as they share the unconditional love of God. 12:11 This is why Gospel Outreach 12:13 is introducing our Adopt-A-Worker program, 12:15 together with the church we identify new workers 12:19 and areas that need to be reached. 12:20 That is why it's our goal to introduce 12:22 a million new people to Jesus in the next three years. 12:26 All that is remaining for this work 12:27 to begin is your financial help. 12:31 In return, we will keep you updated 12:33 on the exciting progress of your worker 12:36 sending you stories and pictures of the lives 12:38 changed by your donations. 12:40 There are three ways you can get involved. 12:43 You can be a prayer partner for Gospel Outreach 12:45 by praying for our Bible workers. 12:48 Second, become an ambassador 12:49 for our Adopt-A-Worker program 12:51 by telling their family and friends 12:52 about how they can make a difference too. 12:55 And finally, sponsor a Bible worker. 12:58 Call or visit the website today. 13:01 So now that you know a bit about Gospel Outreach 13:04 and now that you know what Jesus is waiting for, 13:06 the final question is what are you waiting for? 13:12 And please don't hesitate. 13:14 We all need to join together 13:15 to share the love of the Lord Jesus Christ 13:17 with as many people as possible. 13:19 And we would encourage you to go to our website 13:21 goaim.org for more information 13:24 and we'd be happy to chat with you about that. 13:27 And Fred, you have some 13:30 Adopt-A-Workers in your territories. 13:32 I do, I have four. And tell us how that's working? 13:36 Do they think it's kind of cool that they are being adopted? 13:38 Yeah, they think they are special people. Well, they are. 13:42 So you encourage them to give a report back 13:45 to the people who are sponsoring them? 13:46 Yes, once a quarter 13:47 they will send us a report telling us 13:49 and what they do on a general basis 13:50 and hopefully give us some interesting stories, 13:54 some you know, stories of how people are converted, 13:57 the things that they have to give up or change in their lives 14:00 when they become Seventh-day Adventist. 14:03 And they maybe even send pictures too. 14:05 Yes. Okay. 14:06 Yes, hopefully there will be picture with every report. 14:08 Well, that's fantastic, real good. 14:10 So our viewers can learn more about that. Right. 14:13 Now Arlene, you are going to take us 14:14 back the Philippines and where are we going now? 14:16 We are going to go to Mindanao to the north east corner. 14:19 Okay. And the first village we are going to visit is Coro. 14:23 And here we have the gospel workers 14:25 and few other members ready to welcome us with singing. 14:31 They are very good at singing 14:33 and they have a good welcome song 14:35 and make you feel that you are wanted. 14:38 And here we have a picture 14:39 the next one of our Gospel Outreach worker, 14:42 his name is Perfecto Tecson. 14:45 How do you like that name? 14:46 Perfecto. I like that. 14:48 And that his wife and I are there standing with him. 14:51 And they are call, the members to come in 14:53 as many as could, this is a weekday. 14:56 We have the children again, 14:57 lots of children which we love to see. 15:00 And then we have a picture here of the whole group from their-- 15:05 the all that could come in. 15:06 So they have mixture of young and old, 15:08 they gave us some wonderful young coconut for Buko Juice. 15:13 They put in a straw and you drink it out. 15:15 It's very good, yes. So-- 15:19 That's one of the pleasures of going to the tropics, 15:21 you get the fresh fruits and juice and all, 15:24 they are just so good. 15:26 Okay, we are going to go now 15:27 to another place in northeastern Mindanao. 15:30 This is Larry Manto and his wife. 15:34 They came to this village of Kidihay to spread the gospel. 15:40 They learned that the chief of the village 15:43 had an encounter with an angle. 15:45 The angle told them to keep 15:46 the Seventh-day Sabbath and not eat pigs. 15:49 Okay. Wow. That gets right to the point. 15:51 And that they should not accept any missionary 15:53 that didn't teach that. 15:55 Well, the first missionary 15:56 that came to the village was a Pentecostal. 15:59 So he asked then the question, 16:00 do you worship on Sabbath? 16:02 No, we worship on Sunday. 16:03 Well, then you can't be here 16:05 because we only worship on Sabbath. 16:07 Isn't that so-- Oh, we can do that. 16:10 And so they built a Seventh-day Pentecostal church. 16:12 Did they really? 16:14 And so this is the situation that Larry came into. Wow. 16:19 He worked with them and he started building a church 16:22 and things seem to be going fairly well. 16:24 He was studying with quite a few 16:26 and then they had Typhoon Pablo. 16:28 Now, Mindanao, when we were lived there 16:32 we were told we don't get typhoons in Mindanao. 16:35 But typhoon Pablo came through 16:37 and wiped out many different things. 16:39 This is the remains of his church. Oh, no. 16:43 The Seventh-day Pentecostal church was blown apart too. 16:46 Oh, no. But this was the remains of his church, 16:49 some of the roofing materials. 16:51 Now the better part of the roofing materials 16:53 he gave to some of the families around 16:56 that had lost the roof off their house. 16:59 Well, that was good. 17:00 He helped the community with the remains that were left 17:03 but there was a lot of damage in that typhoon. 17:05 You can see these banana trees, palm trees. No more bananas. 17:11 All the tops blown out, debris lying everywhere. 17:16 I am told that the Seventh-day Adventist church 17:18 lost 338 churches to this typhoon. 17:22 In that one typhoon. One typhoon. 17:24 Oh my. And they-- some of them look pretty bad. 17:29 Wow. So he has rebuilt the church. 17:32 This is built back on the same foundations. 17:35 He had concrete pillars that are remaining 17:37 and so he had put the roof back on 17:39 and he's back in business. 17:41 And that's a good size church. It is a good size church. 17:44 It can probably sit maybe 100 people there 17:47 and he's going strong and will continue to reach out 17:51 to the people in the community. 17:53 It's hard to discourage our Gospel Outreach workers. 17:56 Well, he got the Lord working on their side, so. 17:59 I think this fellow's T-shirt says it all, "I am all in." 18:05 He and his wife were so happy 18:08 and just have big miles on the face the whole time 18:10 I was there and I though that shirt just said it all. 18:13 Absolutely. So are they sitting inside-- 18:15 That was inside the church. Yes. 18:17 Coming away from there, now we had walk going in 18:20 but coming down they persuaded us 18:21 to ride on a motorcycle. 18:23 Now the white man behind me is Vernon Emde. 18:27 He'd gone along as a videographer. 18:29 And so-- You should had him in front. 18:33 He's carrying his several thousand dollar camera with him 18:37 on that motorcycle as we came down 18:39 and all four of us were on the motorcycle. 18:40 All four of you? The other man was on there too? 18:42 Yeah, he was sitting between the driver and the handle bars. 18:45 Okay, so that's a mini van in the Philippines. Yeah. 18:48 Of course he uses it for logging trucks too. 18:50 Hey, whatever works? 18:51 Imagine coming down on a motorcycle, 18:53 slippery roads and ruts. 18:56 I hope you were praying the whole way, Fred. 18:57 You know how do you steer a motorcycle 18:59 when it is in a rut? Wow. 19:01 We had to stop and get off a few times 19:02 so he could take it on through. 19:04 And one time it almost fell over but we were able to stop it. 19:06 And no helmets but the Lord and your angels were there. 19:09 Helmet, what's that? Yeah, what's that? 19:10 Out on the main road it's required 19:12 but in the mountains, no. 19:15 Okay, now we are in the village of Seneca 19:17 and we have our mission president Pastor Magaya 19:21 and we have our Gospel Outreach worker, Brother Hellagus. 19:27 And which one is the Gospel Outreach person? 19:28 He's one in the middle. In the center. 19:29 Okay. And then his wife. 19:31 And next picture it shows us in front of their church. 19:35 It's a cute little church there. 19:37 And we, they asked the members to come in 19:40 and so quite a few came and we wanted to meet 19:43 some that would be have stories to tell. 19:46 Good conversion stories. 19:47 And so we have now the man there in the blue shirt. 19:52 He's still a young man, his name is Rommel Gutierrez 19:57 and he's standing there with his wife and three children 20:00 but they were not there originally. 20:02 He told the story that he had been born 20:04 and raised on an island, a small island called Dinagat. 20:08 And this island is the home of a very large 20:13 and powerful cult, there in the Philippines. 20:16 And his parents were cult members 20:18 and he was raised there. 20:20 He met a friend, well, there was full, 20:23 island full of families. 20:25 Another family had a daughter named Mitchell 20:28 and he and Mitchell were good friends. 20:31 But as he got older in his teen years 20:33 he felt that this cult was not right 20:35 and so he left on his own 20:37 and he went over to the main land of Mindanao 20:41 and landed in this place here of Seneca. 20:46 And he was looking for something 20:49 and he got into the wrong crowd 20:51 and he got led into a lot of sin. 20:54 And then he met up with a-- we call Born Again church, 20:57 it's a popular church there and they got him 21:00 come into their church and they got him saved. 21:03 And so his life is looking better. Good. 21:06 But sad to say he didn't stick with it, 21:09 he fell back into his old ways. 21:11 And just felt that he was very bad 21:15 and too bad to be saved. 21:17 Meanwhile, Mitchell who was still back 21:20 with their parent began to feel 21:22 that she wanted to see some more of the world 21:25 but she had accepted the cult. 21:28 And so she left and believe it or not ended up 21:31 in the same town where her old friend, Rommel was. 21:35 Well, they got together and ended up getting married. 21:39 She thought still very strong in her cult 21:41 she had this following all of the rigmarole they did. 21:47 And he was not interested in religion 21:49 because he thought he was beyond being saved. 21:53 One day he met our Gospel Outreach there, 21:55 Brother Hellagus. that we saw and he-- 21:59 the brother told him that you know, you can be saved. 22:02 He said, no, not me. 22:03 I am too far gone and he said, no. 22:05 he showed him 1 John 1:9, if we will confess our sins 22:10 God is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins. 22:12 And so he finally confesses Rommel 22:16 that there was hope for him. 22:17 So he began Bible studies. 22:20 Now they lived in this small little hut, 22:22 they made with bamboo two rooms. 22:25 When the Bible worker 22:27 or the Gospel Outreach worker came, 22:29 they asked Mitchell, she would like to join them. 22:31 No, she had her own religion. 22:33 So she took the children, they had three children now, 22:36 two older ones and a baby. 22:38 And she took then to the backroom. 22:41 And our Gospel Outreach worker 22:43 and Rommel had their Bible study couple of times a week. 22:48 And she was in the back room 22:51 and the voices could be heard and she began listening. 22:54 Curiosity. Curiosity. 22:56 What is he getting into? Yes. 22:59 And then finally, they were finish the lessons 23:02 and so our Gospel Outreach worker said, now, Rommel, 23:06 would you like to give your heart fully 23:08 to the Lord Jesus and surrender to Him 23:09 and he said, yes, I would. 23:11 And he says, well, then we need 23:12 to set up time for baptism. 23:14 He says, what about your wife 23:15 and he was trying to say, well, she-- 23:17 well, all of the sudden the door opened 23:19 and she came out and she says I accept it also. 23:22 Wow. Praise God. Yes. 23:24 And so in January of this year they were both baptized. 23:28 Now after he told us the story 23:30 we said we want to take some pictures, go get your wife. 23:33 So that's, well, go back to the last picture now. 23:36 So they went and got the wife 23:37 and she came with the children and she had a blue plastic bag. 23:42 And she said to our conference mission president, 23:47 I want to give this to you. 23:48 This is the things that we use in our cult ceremonies 23:53 and I am done with that now 23:56 and I don't even want to have it in the house. 23:58 And so she took out the bag and we saw the various things. 24:02 The top thing you see there is a T-shirt, 24:04 yellow apparently was their main color. 24:06 Okay. Has many cult symbols. 24:08 It also had a little picture of Jesus, 24:10 just to make sure they cover everything, I guess. 24:13 Then there was a headscarf, 24:14 a large scarf and then there was a small like a handkerchief. 24:19 And then they had a ring and then a pendent 24:21 that she wore around her neck. 24:24 Well, she gives them to our pastor there 24:26 and we go talk about what should we do with this. 24:30 And remember in the Bible they came 24:31 and they burn the books of magic. 24:34 So we decided we need to burn these 24:36 that would be the proper thing. 24:37 Sure. So immediately some of the brother went 24:39 and got some kindling 24:40 and some leaves and we started the fire. 24:43 And articles by article-- one by one, 24:45 Mitchell put then on the flames to burn them 24:49 with a big smile on her face, 24:51 she was so happy that this part of her life 24:53 was now gone forever. 24:55 And so the shirt there was sort of stuffing up the fire 25:01 and so they lift it up 25:02 and so they get the flames going again. 25:04 But how moving, to that be gone. Right. 25:08 And so they burned it all up and then we had a praise 25:13 and thanksgiving prayer to the Lord for saving this soul 25:16 and we finished up with the church members 25:20 all gathering together. 25:21 That is the congregation there at this church. 25:23 Oh, praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. 25:25 He saves us all, doesn't He? That's right. 25:27 No matter where we come from and-- 25:28 Or how bad we've been. Yes. 25:30 And He's a powerful God. Oh, He is. 25:32 He is so powerful that He keeps universes up 25:36 and why can't we come to him 25:38 with anything that's on our hearts. 25:39 And other things that those symbols 25:42 before was to protest her physically. 25:44 And so we pay that the Lord would put His arms around her 25:47 and protect her now that these were gone. 25:49 But isn't that something how no matter where we are, 25:52 what we say is so important 25:54 and here the Gospel Outreach worker 25:56 was sharing to her husband. 25:57 Yes. Well, that is fantastic. 25:59 Well, thank you both of you for being here, 26:01 Arlene and Fred Webb, for giving us report 26:04 on the Philippines and may the Lord bless you 26:05 and keep you safe as you work 26:07 with these people and encourage those Gospel Outreach workers. 26:10 Yes. And we'd like to encourage you to get involved 26:13 with Gospel Outreach and we'd ask for your donations 26:16 to help with the work in the 10/40 Window 26:19 where we focus our efforts here at Gospel Outreach 26:22 and you've heard the needs in Philippines 26:24 and seen the churches that need to be built 26:26 and we would ask you to give what you can. 26:29 And we would ask you to send a check to us 26:30 at Gospel Outreach, 26:32 PO Box 8 in College Place, Washington. 26:34 Our phone number is 509-525-2951. 26:37 And you can also go to our website, 26:39 goaim.org for more information. 26:42 And we want to thank you in advance for your gift to us 26:45 and our administration here at Gospel Outreach, 26:48 its all volunteers and that's why 26:50 we are able to make sure that the funds 26:52 that you give then go out to the work in the field. 26:56 So for Gospel Outreach and for Adventures in Mission 26:59 I am Julie Sanders Keymer and take every opportunity 27:01 that God gives you to share Him to others. 27:16 I need to spell the gospel here at home. 27:19 Where is the 10/40 Window anyway? 27:22 Those people live too far away. 27:25 Someone else can tell them about Jesus. 27:27 Maybe they could just watch TV. 27:31 Nearly three billion people to reach, my head hurt. 27:36 There's nothing I can do. I give up. 27:40 What's the point of trying? I can't make a difference. 27:43 Actually, you can make a difference. 27:46 And Jesus asked you to go to all the world. 27:50 Where? All the world. 27:53 How can I go, I have commitments? 27:55 You can pray. 27:58 You can volunteer your talents. 28:03 You can tell others. 28:06 You can give money to sponsor Bible workers. 28:09 Millions of people are searching for hope and meaning. 28:12 But they won't find it without you. 28:14 Be the spark. 28:15 Light the fire. 28:17 Finish the work. 28:18 Finish the work. 28:21 Be the spark! |
