00:16 Welcome to Adventures and Missions at Gospel Outreach.
00:18 I'm Julie Sanders Keymer.
00:19 I'm glad that you've joined us and you are going to hear
00:22 about a very innovative program happening in India.
00:25 And I would like to introduce to you to Manzoor Massey.
00:28 Welcome. Thank you very much for inviting me.
00:30 So people are wanting to know what is the innovative--
00:35 innovative, super innovative program
00:36 that you're implementing in India.
00:38 That's your territory for Gospel Outreach.
00:41 It is. It is.
00:42 I--my territory is the Andhra Pradesh
00:45 which is about four hours away by car
00:50 from the big city called Hyderabad.
00:53 And we have K-12 school there
00:56 and this is one of the best evangelistic effort
01:00 that we can make to have inroads into the families in India.
01:05 So what is it?
01:06 And that is to educate their children.
01:08 So it's about educating the children
01:11 of the Gospel Outreach workers.
01:13 And the Gospel Outreach office here has been working
01:18 with this K-12 school for some time now.
01:23 And we have--you could say we have adopted this school
01:27 to work with them and try to see
01:31 how we can bring the children of our Gospel Outreach workers
01:34 into the Seventh-day Adventist schools.
01:37 And you also have other children though
01:39 who are attending the school too.
01:41 It's not just the Gospel Outreach workers children.
01:43 Well, this particular school--
01:45 and we will see a video very shortly.
01:47 This particular school has 750 children. Wow.
01:50 And half of them are orphans.
01:53 And they are left, you know,
01:55 here and there without any parents.
01:58 Maybe parents died or whatever happened to them
02:02 and then the children are brought to the school
02:05 and we take care of them and we feed them, house them,
02:09 we pay for their education.
02:11 And many of these children
02:13 are sponsored by generous donors from overseas.
02:16 Wonderful. Wonderful.
02:17 And it's a boarding school. It's a boarding school.
02:20 And you should see maybe half of these children
02:24 are not from Christian homes but they sing like angels.
02:29 Wow, praise the Lord.
02:30 And you can just see that these children
02:32 are going to be our workers for tomorrow
02:35 and they are going to be leaders for their country.
02:38 So it is one of the best investment
02:40 that we can make to teach them about God and our faith
02:46 how God can really take in everybody into His family.
02:50 Well, feeding them, educating them, loving them,
02:52 giving a house for them to live in and what--
02:55 praise the Lord, this is fantastic.
02:57 Yes, and the conditions at the school
02:59 they are pretty primitive and we want to show you--
03:03 This is the Ibrahimpatnam Seventh-day Adventist school.
03:07 This is where they have-- this is the gate
03:10 as we're entering the compound.
03:12 It's a quite a large compound, as many, many buildings,
03:18 although very I should say,
03:24 very temporary type of situation,
03:27 but they have good building,
03:29 they are good for school system.
03:32 And children are coming from all over Andhra Pradesh
03:35 and many of them are very, very, poor.
03:39 Here, this is a one of the dormitory and--
03:41 The boys dormitory.
03:43 Yes, boys dormitory and we--
03:45 and here is the water system.
03:47 How these children receive the water.
03:50 There's a water tank and they bath
03:53 and they clean themselves up here.
03:57 And imagine having few of these hand pumps
04:03 for nearly 750 children. Wow.
04:07 We have boys dormitory and we have girls dormitory
04:12 and girls dormitory has few more facilities than boys dormitory.
04:19 And here is one of the water tanks
04:23 where girls come and they wash themselves
04:26 and they also take the water
04:29 for washing their clothes or even drinking water.
04:33 I was gonna say clean water.
04:35 Many of the places that we've seen in India
04:37 they don't have clean water and so--
04:39 Yeah, many of them have no water and leave alone clean water.
04:44 And so these facilities that we have up there
04:48 mostly hand pump here and there.
04:52 They wash their clothes there.
04:54 And I tell you it's amazing to watch these little kids.
04:58 They are from the age of 7, 8,
05:02 all the way to 13 and 16 and 18 year old.
05:05 Oh, look at the rice and the dal and-- That's right.
05:09 This is--the girls cook all the food
05:12 and then it is brought to the boys dormitory
05:16 and this is how they then distribute the food.
05:20 So there's no table, they are just all sitting nearly.
05:24 Yes, but there are some tables but remember it's a large place
05:30 and we don't have enough tables for everybody.
05:34 And now this is one of the classrooms,
05:37 with the help of Rotary Club we were able to provide
05:42 desks and chairs to all the classrooms.
05:45 You know, the Rotarians are very generous group.
05:48 The Rotarians are very generous and my Rotary Club here
05:52 from Cross Roads Rotary in San Bernardino
05:55 collaborated with midtown Rotary from Vijayawada city.
06:01 And that's how we developed this.
06:03 We provided them equipment for the kitchen area.
06:08 And the equipment for the kitchen area was provided--
06:15 where we have refrigerators.
06:53 Manzoor Massey Sir was with us. He promised us a project.
06:58 He said very soon you're going to have a school bakery.
07:02 Want to give a big applause for that
07:06 and exactly approved in an year
07:09 we're so happy that our beloved Elder Manzoor Massey Sir
07:14 has made this project come into action and into reality.
07:18 It's a very important occasion it is when something
07:23 getting for fulfillment it brings excitement. Amen.
07:27 Before we start we will ask the blessings.
07:30 I would like to invite
07:33 Mr. Dellorso to offer prayer for us.
07:41 First of all can I say a couple of words? Yes.
07:44 I'm so excited about this today.
07:49 The main reason I'm excited is because I believe
07:52 that we'll provide a work program for the students here.
07:57 When I went to school, boy, I won't tell you how long.
08:01 Many years ago I've had the privilege to earn my way
08:03 through school and I worked in a printing company
08:07 all four years while I was in academy.
08:10 And because of that today I own a printing company.
08:14 Amen.
08:15 And I believe that learning a skill like bakery
08:21 you will be very blessed to-- they will put into practice,
08:25 the things you learn by your working
08:29 and also you will learn quality trades in your character
08:34 that are just essential that you learn at
08:37 while you're going to the classes day to day.
08:41 So I think this is a wonderful step
08:43 in the direction of providing it a better education
08:47 for the kids here and for their tuitions.
08:49 So I'm glad to be a part of this.
08:52 And I thank you, for allowing me to be here.
08:55 Let's bow our heads in prayer.
08:57 Loving Father in heaven, how blessed indeed we are today
09:00 to witness this grand occasion
09:03 when we can lay the foundation stone to facility
09:07 that will increase the knowledge
09:09 and working habits of young people.
09:12 And Lord may this facility, this bakery have a great part
09:18 in spreading the bread of life which is Your bread Lord
09:23 as it goes out in the communities,
09:25 the cities and the surrounding areas
09:27 because really Lord, You are that bread of life
09:30 that they can have a taste of and see that You're good.
09:35 We thank you, for each one here.
09:36 We thank you, for each student.
09:38 We thank you, for Your presence here
09:40 as we lay this foundation stone and we thank you Lord,
09:44 for your wonderful promise that You will guide us,
09:47 protect us, and come into the hearts
09:50 of everyone of these young person Lord,
09:53 as they use their talents, their skill,
09:55 their time in this school and we pray that this bakery
10:01 will go far and hasten Your return,
10:04 so that we can go home with You to live throughout eternity
10:07 and may that be a reality soon.
10:10 We pray in the precious wonderful name of Jesus, amen.
10:14 It is essential to see the needs
10:18 and it is more essential to fulfill the needs.
10:23 And in the last visit Dr. Massey had seen the need
10:27 and we are extremely happy that he promised
10:31 and he went back to US and he found a way
10:36 where we can establish a bakery.
10:39 And the second important point is
10:42 we have close to 1,000 children in this institution
10:48 and our principle is making inroads,
10:52 you will not be surprised if he can get
10:55 another 400 children next year.
10:57 Amen. Praise the Lord.
10:58 There is a need to establish a bakery here.
11:01 And God has promised through Dr. Massey
11:05 and God is fulfilling this promise.
11:08 With this great purpose we wanted to celebrate today
11:12 in laying a foundation stone.
11:16 Well, as you know children are the future
11:20 and many of us may not realize how critical that is.
11:27 In our sharing the idea of banana plant.
11:31 Banana plant yields the fruit only once,
11:34 but before it dies it has created
11:37 many, many other banana plants.
11:41 And we can learn from the nature
11:44 how we could improve where we live and how we do work.
11:50 It is our goal that our young people will replace us.
11:54 They will have the vision.
11:56 They will have the dreams and we want to be simply winds--
12:02 a wind beneath your wings.
12:04 That is our goal.
12:06 And you're really the eagles that we're looking forward to.
12:11 You're the ones who can take all our dreams
12:14 to the next level with your dreams.
12:17 We're hoping that we'll have 200 children,
12:20 new children who will join you
12:23 that they will be able to go to school here
12:25 who are not able to come to school at this time,
12:28 children of our Gospel Outreach workers and many others.
12:32 So God is opening up doors and you must never decide
12:39 how big the foot can grow.
12:41 And money should never be the limit to accomplish
12:45 what God wants us to accomplish for His future.
12:49 So like all of you to pray for this project.
12:53 I'm not the main person who's actually making this happen.
12:58 The credit goes to God and many other dedicated people
13:02 who are going to be part of this project.
13:04 Brother, Dell and Boney Orsor.
13:08 Brother Dell spoke few minutes ago.
13:11 This couple is very dedicated to make things happen for God.
13:17 And so today we'll be inaugurating
13:22 just the initial beginning of laying a foundation
13:27 for something that will happen very soon
13:29 because we have people
13:31 who can make things happen on this campus.
14:10 Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
14:15 Dear merciful gracious heavenly Father,
14:18 we want to take this opportunity to praise Your name today
14:22 for the beginning of this great project.
14:24 Lord, thanking you that you have made it possible
14:28 by putting the vision in the hearts of people here
14:31 and even across many miles away from here
14:35 a vision for a bakery for this school.
14:38 Lord, this school belongs to you
14:40 and Lord, we know that as our Creator God,
14:44 You created man from the dust of the earth.
14:46 So Lord, once again we're consecrating this dust
14:49 to You today to do something glorious for your name.
14:53 We pray Lord, that you would take these humble bricks
14:57 that are here as a symbol of our desire
15:00 to provide a way for young people
15:02 to earn a weight for a Christian education.
15:06 And Lord, that they might be blessed in many others ways
15:09 as a result of this that You would bless the community
15:11 not just the school but Lord, at this campus
15:15 will become a mighty testament to the power of our God.
15:18 We just pray Lord, that You would breathe
15:21 life into this project, that You would bless that,
15:24 that you would give Brother Prasad and his team
15:26 and all those that will be working on it,
15:28 special God given wisdom.
15:30 Those moments Lord, when there are challenges arise
15:33 make those crooked places straight.
15:35 And Lord, we pray that in a short time
15:37 that this bakery will be cranking out loafs of bread
15:42 not only for food but also Lord, that You the bread of life
15:46 would also flow from this school.
15:48 We ask and dedicate this project to You
15:50 in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
16:06 So what we've just witnessed
16:08 is the laying of the corner stone
16:11 or the foundation for this bakery.
16:15 And there's something about bringing bread to the people.
16:22 You know, it just symbolizes Jesus is the bread of life.
16:27 And I'm so excited about this bakery.
16:30 Anytime the folks in India
16:33 they become little bit economically better off.
16:36 They want to eat bread hence--
16:42 He's taken all my sins away
16:46 And that's why I'm singing today
16:51 I'm praying today I'm praying today In Jesus Christ,
16:58 I'm praying today He's taken all my sins away
17:04 And that's why I'm praying today
17:09 I'm sharing my faith I'm sharing my faith
17:14 In Jesus Christ I'm sharing my faith
17:18 He's taken all my sins away
17:23 And that's why I'm sharing my faith
17:28 I'm happy today I'm singing today
17:32 In Jesus Christ I'm praying today
17:36 He's taken all my sins away
17:40 And that's why I'm sharing my faith
17:45 Praise the Lord, Manzoor.
17:47 Amen. I got to say amen.
17:49 I don't think we need to say anything.
17:51 Turn the cameras off. We're done.
17:53 Wow.
17:55 How fantastic is that to hear those young people
17:57 singing about the Lord. Oh my--
17:59 I could just hardly content myself.
18:02 It's so inspiring. Yeah.
18:04 Half of those children who are sitting there and singing,
18:07 you know, I'm sharing my faith or I'm praising today,
18:12 half of them are not Christians.
18:14 And they don't have parents. And they don't have parents.
18:16 You know they are orphans.
18:18 And these children will consider this school as their home.
18:23 And they will consider those teachers
18:26 and those people who come and visit them as their parents.
18:29 You know, whenever I visit there,
18:31 I just--I'm in love with those children.
18:34 Oh, fantastic.
18:35 And last year when I went there to see them,
18:38 they invited me to visit their dormitories.
18:41 And all 750 children were lined up in two rows
18:46 and they were holding something in their hands.
18:49 Well, what's that? And I didn't know what it was.
18:50 As I started walking they starting throwing flowers on me.
18:55 I cried and I cried and I said look at the love
18:58 that God has put in the hearts of these children. Wow.
19:02 And when you talk to them they want to kind of
19:05 hug you and hang on to you
19:07 because they feel that-- they sense this love.
19:12 And one little girl wrote me a note
19:15 and put it in my pocket and I read it later and it said,
19:19 when you spoke to me I felt love in your words.
19:23 Praise Jesus.
19:24 And you know I just had tears in my eyes.
19:26 I said, these children
19:28 are longing for somebody to hug them.
19:31 So we have 750 of them
19:33 but we have 100s and 1000s of more children out there
19:37 who are not having the privilege to be in a school.
19:40 And right now we're thinking
19:42 about the children of our Gospel Outreach workers.
19:45 We have as I mentioned nearly 600 workers
19:48 right in this vicinity and 200 more in Andhra Pradesh.
19:52 So there are 800 more gospel Outreach Workers there.
19:56 Their children-- many of their children
19:58 can not come to school because they cannot afford.
20:02 So this bakery is going to be
20:05 an avenue to generate resources to support,
20:08 I would say, at least 200 children.
20:11 Because you were saying earlier when people in India
20:14 when they get a little bit more economically stable
20:16 then they feel they are buying bread
20:18 is what on the higher level. They think--
20:21 It shows that they have the money. Interesting.
20:24 And they want to buy bread.
20:25 Well, convenience. Sure.
20:26 They like to--instead of kneading the flour
20:28 and making their own normal food
20:32 it's easier to buy a loaf of bread.
20:34 So we're gonna take advantage of that hunger for bread
20:38 and have bread and cookies
20:42 and pastries and cakes and all of that.
20:45 And plus right next to the bakery
20:48 we will have a small eatery.
20:50 This is where we'll have breakfast fed. Oh, sure.
20:54 So it's gonna be a real opportunity for us
20:57 to serve the public as well as generate revenue
21:01 and one important concept that we're gonna make
21:03 and implement is what we call work study program.
21:07 Very important.
21:08 So children who are over the age of 16
21:12 we're gonna be giving them the opportunity
21:14 that they will work at the bakery
21:16 and they will be paid for it
21:18 and that would be teaching them dignity of labor,
21:22 that they will be able to have skills to do certain things
21:26 when they graduate from there.
21:27 So and now the kids are excited about the bakery?
21:30 Oh, my-- they are so excited.
21:31 You heard them sing. Yeah, yeah.
21:33 That singing that the girls were singing there and children.
21:36 That was the site where we were laying the corner stone
21:40 for the bakery. Very significant.
21:41 So the site has been selected.
21:43 It is going to be on the main highway,
21:45 right next to the gate to the school.
21:48 And it is very, very ideal location.
21:51 I've been there three times now myself,
21:54 actually four times and it is beautiful site
21:58 for that particular project.
21:59 And Gospel Outreach is involved with that and--
22:02 The Gospel Outreach is behind this project.
22:05 Because the our--the children of our Gospel Outreach workers
22:09 are going to be going there and benefiting from that.
22:11 Sure. Absolutely, absolutely.
22:13 So what are the next steps for the bakery?
22:17 Well, now we actually have-- the big step is to make sure
22:23 that all the funding is in place.
22:25 We have sent part of the funding already
22:27 and the project has started,
22:29 and the architectural designs have been done.
22:31 Contractor has been selected
22:33 and supervisor is already appointed.
22:36 He's already on the job. Good.
22:38 And our expectation is that within 90 days
22:42 the bakery will be up and running.
22:44 90 days? In 90 days.
22:45 The equipment has been purchased.
22:47 It is sitting at the factory.
22:49 I've already spoken to the factory owners
22:52 and they said as soon as the building is ready
22:54 they will be sending two engineers
22:56 to place the equipment and run it
23:00 and show us that it's working.
23:02 Fantastic, wow. It is a new day.
23:04 Everything we do we must make plans
23:08 to make the work self sufficient.
23:09 Yes, yes, absolutely. Because if we--
23:11 You know, what do they say,
23:12 don't give them a fish but show them how to fish.
23:15 How to fish, correct.
23:16 This is exactly what we're trying to do here
23:18 that the school will have the opportunity to expand this.
23:22 Well, the next step is
23:23 I haven't spoken to anybody else yet.
23:26 Next step is to put a peanut butter factory there
23:29 and I already have somebody who would like to donate
23:32 some funds towards the peanut butter factory.
23:35 So we want to create this opportunity
23:37 so the school will be able to generate revenue
23:40 to help the Gospel Outreach center.
23:41 So you can buy your loaf of bread
23:43 and then you can put your peanut butter on it.
23:45 Do people in India like peanut butter?
23:47 Oh, yes, they do.
23:49 That's like the big question mark and like--
23:51 I know Americans do but--
23:53 In fact in many places they have what they call easy stores.
23:55 Easy stores are the westernized one stop stores
23:59 where you can buy lots of the readymade things.
24:01 And the third one will be we gonna start
24:04 an agricultural program there
24:08 where they will be able to grow their vegetables
24:11 so that vegetables these children will be using
24:14 they will come from their own field.
24:17 So we got some big beautiful plans
24:20 to make this place self sufficient.
24:22 How exciting, now this might be a little premature
24:25 but maybe not if this all gonna be done in 90 days.
24:27 Is there a name for the bakery?
24:29 Right now I just say it is Ibrahimpatnam School Bakery.
24:35 But we will be searching for a good name.
24:38 Yeah. Oh, this is fantastic.
24:40 Oh, this is just wonderful.
24:42 And may we call bread of life bakery.
24:44 Hey, why not? You know, it's very possible.
24:46 And there's time to figure that out.
24:48 But how exciting and--
24:50 are the Gospel Outreach workers excited
24:51 about this for their children.
24:53 Oh, my, there were 600 of them there
24:55 when we laid the foundation stone.
24:59 And you should have seen the excitement
25:02 among these workers.
25:04 They just busted in cheers when we announced
25:07 that there's gonna be a bakery here
25:09 and also maybe later on a peanut butter factory
25:13 and a little farming project.
25:15 Because right now they would have to pay in order to--
25:19 the tuition for their child to go to Adventist school.
25:22 And if their child-- they can't afford that
25:24 and the child can't go there--
25:25 Will the child go then to a public school then if?
25:28 Well, generally they go to public school
25:30 and they missed Saturday's-- Okay, they go to school--
25:33 They would go to school because Saturday is a school day.
25:36 It is a school day.
25:37 Sabbath is a school day and so all of our children
25:40 will miss that one day of school if they are in public school.
25:43 And sometime if the exams fall on Sabbath
25:46 then they will have to miss the whole year.
25:49 So it's a very critical that we make arrangements
25:52 for all of them to be able to study in our own schools.
25:56 And it's a big challenge in a country like India
26:02 where the exam may fall on Sabbath.
26:05 And there's no grace if it does. There's no grace.
26:07 You have to wait for a year.
26:09 So but in our high schools,
26:11 our high schools recognized by the government.
26:13 And we have Sabbath off, so that's why we want them
26:16 to come to our schools.
26:18 Also there is no better education
26:21 to strengthen ones faith than to have them
26:25 in Seventh-day Adventist schools.
26:26 Where they are learning about the Lord Jesus Christ.
26:28 They are learning about Jesus.
26:29 Well, Manzoor, thank you so much.
26:31 We're excited about the bakery
26:32 and we look forward to hearing more reports on that.
26:34 And if you too are excited about this
26:36 and you would like to give to help
26:38 with this exciting project in India.
26:40 I pray that you will call us or you go on our website
26:43 and make your donation to goaim.org.
26:47 On behalf of Gospel Outreach and Adventures in Missions
26:49 I'm Julie Sanders Keymer and the Lord blesses you today.
27:16 I need to spread the gospel here at home.
27:19 Where is the 10/40 Window anyway?
27:22 Those people live too far away.
27:25 Someone else can tell them about Jesus.
27:27 Maybe they could just watch TV.
27:31 Nearly three billion people to reach.
27:34 My head hurts.
27:36 There's nothing I can do.
27:38 I give up.
27:40 What's the point of trying?
27:41 I can't make a difference.
27:43 Actually you can make a difference.
27:46 And Jesus asked you to go to all the world.
27:50 Where?
27:51 All the world.
27:53 How can I go? I have commitments.
27:55 You can pray.
27:57 You can volunteer your talents.
28:03 You can tell others.
28:06 You can give money to sponsor Bible workers.
28:09 Millions of people are searching for hope and meaning.
28:12 But they won't find it without you.
28:14 Be the spark.
28:15 Light the fire.
28:17 Finish the work.
28:18 Finish the work.
28:21 Be the spark!
