More money and more donors. 00:01:17.50\00:01:21.08 Yes, and the more donors and we want to thank our donors 00:01:21.11\00:01:23.56 who have given to help sponsor the Gospel Outreach 00:01:23.59\00:01:26.55 workers that we do have. 00:01:26.58\00:01:28.77 So what's it like for you Don, 00:01:28.80\00:01:30.08 to go and visit India and see these people? 00:01:30.11\00:01:33.12 Well, it's a land of contrast. 00:01:33.15\00:01:35.31 You see some fairly rich people, 00:01:35.34\00:01:36.84 you see some very poor people 00:01:36.87\00:01:39.14 and some people living in just almost abject poverty. 00:01:39.17\00:01:44.15 It's a really a land of contrast 00:01:44.18\00:01:45.75 but it's been a very enlightening experience first 00:01:45.78\00:01:47.93 and the one which I greatly enjoy when I'm there. 00:01:47.96\00:01:49.99 Fantastic. 00:01:50.02\00:01:51.05 So when you go to India what it your main goal for going to? 00:01:51.08\00:01:55.22 This year I decided, I thought about it 00:01:55.25\00:01:57.26 for quite a while what would I like to do in India 00:01:57.29\00:02:00.09 and I decided what we really need 00:02:00.12\00:02:02.15 is to train the workers who are there on the ground 00:02:02.18\00:02:04.74 and so I decide to focus on the workers 00:02:04.77\00:02:06.72 who are there and what we could do to train them. 00:02:06.75\00:02:09.14 So my wife and I both prepared lectures. 00:02:09.17\00:02:11.83 I had a couple lectures, my wife had couple lectures. 00:02:11.86\00:02:14.71 The Southern Asia division representative 00:02:14.74\00:02:17.42 who traveled with me, he had three or four lectures 00:02:17.45\00:02:19.85 and we used local union personal 00:02:19.88\00:02:22.52 and we held three day sessions in five different locations 00:02:22.55\00:02:25.85 for the workers in India. Good. 00:02:25.88\00:02:27.85 That was the purpose of my trip in India largely. 00:02:27.88\00:02:31.09 Because it's great if you have employees 00:02:31.12\00:02:33.52 but if they don't know-- obviously they know 00:02:33.55\00:02:35.70 that they are spreading the love of the Lord Jesus Christ 00:02:35.73\00:02:37.77 but at the same time it does help 00:02:37.80\00:02:39.74 to have some little guidance. 00:02:39.77\00:02:41.39 It does, it does. Well, good. 00:02:41.42\00:02:43.24 Well, thank you for being here and you have some video 00:02:43.27\00:02:45.23 that you would like to share with us. 00:02:45.26\00:02:46.29 Yes, I would like to show you couple clips of video 00:02:46.32\00:02:48.29 we're gonna start that now I guess. 00:02:48.32\00:02:50.62 And this leads it into India. 00:02:50.65\00:02:52.63 This is the Kolar Chintamani section headquarters building 00:02:59.20\00:03:03.01 where we held the meetings. 00:03:03.04\00:03:04.07 First set of meetings with local men. 00:03:04.10\00:03:06.40 And here the workers are being instructed 00:03:06.43\00:03:09.26 by one of the leaders who led out the meetings. 00:03:09.29\00:03:13.35 Now you see they are very enthusiastic workers 00:03:13.38\00:03:16.15 and that was the experience. 00:03:16.18\00:03:20.24 So we repeated this several times and through out India 00:03:20.27\00:03:23.95 and giving basically the same program 00:03:23.98\00:03:26.11 in several different locations. 00:03:26.14\00:03:27.79 Now I saw the tablecloth on the table moving 00:03:27.82\00:03:30.68 with the fan so it must have been pretty hot. 00:03:30.71\00:03:31.89 It was hot. Yeah. 00:03:31.92\00:03:32.95 It was hot but it wasn't unbearably hot 00:03:33.11\00:03:35.02 was just warm though. 00:03:35.05\00:03:36.90 So anyway that was the experience 00:03:36.93\00:03:38.86 so shall we go to the next video-- 00:03:38.89\00:03:40.02 Yes, let's go, let's go. 00:03:40.05\00:03:41.31 And let's take a look at the next one. 00:03:41.34\00:03:44.80 Here we are leaving from Bangalore going to Chennai 00:03:44.83\00:03:49.31 and we decided to take the train. 00:03:49.34\00:03:51.42 Trains are really good there 00:03:51.45\00:03:52.78 they are quite fast and convenient. 00:03:52.81\00:03:56.01 My wife is sitting here and comfortably enjoying the train. 00:03:56.04\00:03:58.12 Look how nice it is. It was really pleasant ride. 00:03:58.15\00:04:01.44 This is the train station in Chennai. 00:04:01.47\00:04:04.29 There are thousands of people there when you see 00:04:04.32\00:04:06.44 all the people you know it's a crowded place. 00:04:06.47\00:04:09.42 In fact I say you haven't see people 00:04:09.45\00:04:10.96 unless you travel in India. 00:04:10.99\00:04:12.68 You'll see lots of people there. 00:04:12.71\00:04:15.22 Here was the--the ladies were gathering around 00:04:15.25\00:04:18.09 to gather water for the day and they gather the pots 00:04:18.12\00:04:21.81 and pick them up and they all had to stand in line 00:04:21.84\00:04:25.46 because they don't all have water in there home. 00:04:25.49\00:04:28.71 So what they have to do is go to the local well 00:04:28.74\00:04:31.42 or go to the facility where they get water. 00:04:31.45\00:04:33.89 They load it up they carry it home for their homes 00:04:33.92\00:04:36.01 and that's how they are supplied with water. 00:04:36.04\00:04:38.50 Just imagine, I'm just thinking how many times a day 00:04:38.53\00:04:41.78 do I turn on a water faucet and turn it off 00:04:41.81\00:04:45.74 and I stand there I don't have to bend down 00:04:45.77\00:04:47.92 I don't have to and how convenient is that 00:04:47.95\00:04:50.59 and here these people hauling water. 00:04:50.62\00:04:52.14 That's right and every time you open the faucet 00:04:52.17\00:04:55.42 we just don't even think about it 00:04:55.45\00:04:56.93 but they have carry every drop that they are gonna use. 00:04:56.96\00:04:59.64 And now those buckets are they plastic or pitchers or the-- 00:04:59.67\00:05:02.33 Plastic, often plastic, yes. 00:05:02.36\00:05:04.82 Often plastic buckets so that's what they do. 00:05:04.85\00:05:09.38 Okay, more video let's go. 00:05:09.41\00:05:10.58 Take a look at the next segment here. 00:05:10.61\00:05:12.57 This is riding in the jeep going through the streets of Chennai. 00:05:12.60\00:05:15.85 Oh, I kind of had to make sure that it pulled up 00:05:15.88\00:05:17.95 there so he didn't get hit. 00:05:17.98\00:05:19.64 You know, sort of pull your arms in as your riding 00:05:19.67\00:05:22.33 along in the jeep there are couple of shots here. 00:05:22.36\00:05:26.29 Watch the people. 00:05:26.32\00:05:27.35 That's crowd of the street, crowd of the streets. 00:05:27.38\00:05:29.05 Lots of activity and that's just the way they live 00:05:29.08\00:05:32.24 and they are very much accustomed for that. 00:05:32.27\00:05:34.29 Coming through you better get out of our way. 00:05:34.32\00:05:35.76 Yeah. Watch the lady. 00:05:35.79\00:05:37.31 So this is going down the little alley way 00:05:37.34\00:05:39.37 that goes to our church in Chennai 00:05:39.40\00:05:41.84 and in just a moment you'll see the church building 00:05:41.87\00:05:44.58 the jeep comes to a stop here and we will walk inside 00:05:44.61\00:05:48.01 and see the church. 00:05:48.04\00:05:49.24 About how many members they are, Don? 00:05:49.27\00:05:51.16 There are I would say about 60 or 70 members 00:05:51.19\00:05:53.95 they are in the church here 00:05:53.98\00:05:55.52 and the next we'll see picture of the workers here I believe 00:05:55.55\00:05:58.51 and with some of the training session 00:05:58.54\00:06:00.15 going on in just a moment. 00:06:00.18\00:06:02.20 Here is the training session going on 00:06:02.23\00:06:04.65 and he is speaking to the workers giving them instruction. 00:06:04.68\00:06:06.73 You notice they are taking notes carefully 00:06:06.76\00:06:08.72 they have the Bibles they are taking notes. 00:06:08.75\00:06:11.00 They have the pieces of paper so on 00:06:11.03\00:06:13.53 and they are recoding what's going on. 00:06:13.56\00:06:15.45 So men and women both were there? 00:06:15.48\00:06:17.60 Men and women mostly, mostly women in this particular group 00:06:17.63\00:06:20.05 because they work in the city 00:06:20.08\00:06:21.28 and the women can get into the homes better the men can 00:06:21.31\00:06:24.41 and the men are often working during the day 00:06:24.44\00:06:26.32 so the women will go into the homes. 00:06:26.35\00:06:28.74 Here they are giving their paycheck 00:06:28.77\00:06:30.80 at the end of the month. 00:06:30.83\00:06:31.86 They come in once in month 00:06:31.89\00:06:33.50 and they don't have a electronic delivery of mail so on, 00:06:33.53\00:06:36.94 so usually come in they pick up their paycheck in cash 00:06:36.97\00:06:40.33 and that's what's happening here. 00:06:40.36\00:06:41.56 They sign for their paycheck, 00:06:41.59\00:06:43.10 he hands them an envelope and they are on their way. 00:06:43.13\00:06:45.69 Oh, here is the media center. That's the media center. 00:06:45.72\00:06:47.25 Yes, the Hope channel has a media center right there 00:06:47.28\00:06:51.08 in India a couple shots of the building and so on. 00:06:51.11\00:06:55.05 What a nice studio. 00:06:55.08\00:06:56.11 It's a nice studio the lighting is inadequate 00:06:56.14\00:06:58.65 some of it is little bit homemade 00:06:58.68\00:06:59.96 but it worked out very well. 00:06:59.99\00:07:01.66 And so they are doing a fine job. 00:07:01.69\00:07:03.73 My wife and I thought that deservers 00:07:03.76\00:07:05.47 a little bit of attention there. 00:07:05.50\00:07:06.75 Oh, I think so too. Promote the media center. 00:07:06.78\00:07:09.25 I think so too. 00:07:09.28\00:07:10.31 They are doing very well 00:07:10.34\00:07:11.71 and I'm proud of what they are doing. 00:07:11.74\00:07:13.28 Pastor Johnson is the one who is one who is leading 00:07:13.31\00:07:15.27 like the Gospel Outreach workers. 00:07:15.30\00:07:16.78 He is also the head of the media center 00:07:16.81\00:07:19.15 and very enthusiastic man and doing a fine job. 00:07:19.18\00:07:22.36 So with their media center are they doing any bible studies 00:07:22.39\00:07:25.13 or they doing some interviews? 00:07:25.16\00:07:26.51 They are doing a lot of interviews 00:07:26.54\00:07:28.07 and they invite pastors to come in from field 00:07:28.10\00:07:30.49 and present lectures and Bible studies and so on 00:07:30.52\00:07:33.46 and they have them come in 00:07:33.49\00:07:34.52 and they are doing this in various languages and dialects 00:07:34.55\00:07:37.00 because there are 2,600 languages in India. 00:07:37.03\00:07:40.64 Say that again 26,000. 00:07:40.67\00:07:41.70 2,600 languages of which 26 of them I understand 00:07:41.73\00:07:45.54 are official languages something like that 00:07:45.57\00:07:48.21 and almost everybody speaks a little English 00:07:48.24\00:07:50.09 but sometimes a very little English. 00:07:50.12\00:07:52.57 You know, but so many people around the world 00:07:52.60\00:07:54.42 are so fantastic with learning 00:07:54.45\00:07:55.96 four and five languages and fluent. 00:07:55.99\00:07:58.98 Well, Americans are not so good that way. 00:07:59.01\00:08:00.65 No, we are not. Yes, that's true. 00:08:00.68\00:08:01.71 We are not so good. 00:08:01.74\00:08:03.24 But there they do really quite well with the languages 00:08:03.27\00:08:05.71 and he is got the thing all set up. 00:08:05.74\00:08:08.27 He's got the generator because the power goes off 00:08:08.30\00:08:10.44 usually once a day for a couple of hours. 00:08:10.47\00:08:12.09 So he says, I brought people in from all over India 00:08:12.12\00:08:15.16 and they are here to do taping and the power goes off 00:08:15.19\00:08:17.23 what are we gonna do? 00:08:17.26\00:08:18.65 So they start up the generators and operate with that. 00:08:18.68\00:08:21.33 Hey, you use what you have. That's right, that's right. 00:08:21.36\00:08:24.87 Good, all right, so where we're going next. 00:08:24.90\00:08:28.11 This is going back from the meetings to the hotel 00:08:28.14\00:08:32.59 we're riding in this case it's a tricycle 00:08:32.62\00:08:34.72 its motorized tricycle there's another one coming on here 00:08:34.75\00:08:37.23 you will see in just a moment. 00:08:37.26\00:08:38.30 And those are quite the experience. 00:08:38.33\00:08:39.59 Those are quite the experience. 00:08:39.62\00:08:41.67 And everybody, everybody really the world moves 00:08:41.70\00:08:45.82 in those things largely. 00:08:45.85\00:08:46.89 It's true. So it works really well. 00:08:46.92\00:08:48.97 Yes, looks like close calls. 00:08:49.00\00:08:51.09 Now this is a Sabbath here and we are visiting 00:08:51.12\00:08:53.20 a small church where the Gospel Outreach worker 00:08:53.23\00:08:56.40 has raised this church they built the church. 00:08:56.43\00:08:58.89 They are playing the drums here and the Gospel Outreach worker 00:08:58.92\00:09:01.70 is leading out in the church service. 00:09:01.73\00:09:04.89 And you will see him here in just a moment. 00:09:04.92\00:09:07.20 After the church service is over 00:09:07.23\00:09:09.14 they will they'll stay together for a potluck. 00:09:09.17\00:09:11.17 You'll see another shot of the church here. 00:09:11.20\00:09:13.82 I like the little boy really getting into those drums. 00:09:13.85\00:09:15.77 Yeah, he was really getting into it. 00:09:15.80\00:09:17.02 They don't have enough seats for everybody in the church 00:09:17.05\00:09:18.63 so they sit on the floor, no problem, 00:09:18.66\00:09:21.67 they're very happy to do that 00:09:21.70\00:09:23.35 and they just join the fellowship, 00:09:23.38\00:09:25.47 then after the church service is over, 00:09:25.50\00:09:27.57 they have a potluck and they sit on the floor, 00:09:27.60\00:09:30.04 they are served the rice 00:09:30.07\00:09:31.57 and they seem to really enjoy it. 00:09:31.60\00:09:33.04 Was that on a banana leaf? 00:09:33.07\00:09:35.25 Uh, I think they had little plates. 00:09:35.28\00:09:36.38 Plates, okay. Did it taste good, Don? 00:09:36.41\00:09:38.84 Did you eat there? 00:09:38.87\00:09:40.22 Yes, some of the food is a bit spicy for me frankly, 00:09:40.25\00:09:43.42 but I can generally consider a whole lot and manage it. 00:09:43.45\00:09:47.80 I love Indian food. It's little spicy though. 00:09:47.83\00:09:49.27 Oh, it's good. 00:09:49.30\00:09:50.33 So that was the experience there. 00:09:50.36\00:09:52.69 So I was really pleased with this guy who is Outreach worker. 00:09:52.72\00:09:55.20 His name was Mr. Suresh incidentally 00:09:55.23\00:09:57.50 and he's pretty much raised in that church, 00:09:57.53\00:09:59.84 he's lead the church, he's really doing 00:09:59.87\00:10:01.58 the work of a pastor as well as a Gospel Outreach worker. 00:10:01.61\00:10:04.78 And if you took the man out of there, 00:10:04.81\00:10:06.05 I don't know what would happen to the church 00:10:06.08\00:10:07.56 because nobody else to lead that church. 00:10:07.59\00:10:09.53 So he's doing a wonderful piece of work there. 00:10:09.56\00:10:12.47 And the people are coming in there 00:10:12.50\00:10:14.65 and they're being evangelized, I think he's doing a good job. 00:10:14.68\00:10:17.67 I'm pleased with what's happening there. 00:10:17.70\00:10:20.21 So what religion are most of these people? 00:10:20.24\00:10:22.26 Are they Hindu in particular? 00:10:22.29\00:10:23.38 They're largely Hindu, yes, they're largely Hindu 00:10:23.41\00:10:25.87 and the Hindus are probably the major population, 00:10:25.90\00:10:28.51 then you have quite a few who are Muslim 00:10:28.54\00:10:31.36 and then only about 3% of Indians actually Christians, 00:10:31.39\00:10:34.56 most are Muslims and Hindus. 00:10:34.59\00:10:37.57 And so one of the things which we did in our training session, 00:10:37.60\00:10:41.14 the division man gave a talk on how to win the Hindus to Christ. 00:10:41.17\00:10:46.56 And I thought that was really appropriate 00:10:46.59\00:10:48.12 because those are the ones 00:10:48.15\00:10:49.45 and you go back a little bit in the history, 00:10:49.48\00:10:51.11 it mostly come from Hindu background, 00:10:51.14\00:10:53.53 mostly the Christians. 00:10:53.56\00:10:54.91 And so that's their background 00:10:54.94\00:10:56.96 so he had a presentation on winning the Hindus for Christ 00:10:56.99\00:11:00.75 and I thought that was very appropriate. 00:11:00.78\00:11:02.52 Well, and to make sure that you're being respectful 00:11:02.55\00:11:05.42 of their beliefs and also sharing a new belief system 00:11:05.45\00:11:10.13 and a new way of looking at things, so. 00:11:10.16\00:11:12.65 He emphasized that in his talk 00:11:12.68\00:11:14.26 that was one thing he pointed out 00:11:14.29\00:11:15.54 was don't make them just leave their family, 00:11:15.57\00:11:18.44 leave their friends, let them stay in their home environment, 00:11:18.47\00:11:20.93 let them stay with the people they're comfortable with 00:11:20.96\00:11:23.25 but they can be Christians 00:11:23.28\00:11:24.88 but they have to still work with their family. 00:11:24.91\00:11:27.83 So you don't want to take them out of the family 00:11:27.86\00:11:29.39 so that's very important to them. 00:11:29.42\00:11:31.54 But, Don, that's true for all of us as Christians, isn't it? 00:11:31.57\00:11:33.84 For sure. It is totally--yes. 00:11:33.87\00:11:35.58 Very true. And God wants us to do that. 00:11:35.61\00:11:37.37 Very true. All right, more video? 00:11:37.40\00:11:39.72 Yes, I have another video if you would like to see it. 00:11:39.75\00:11:41.42 I would. 00:11:41.45\00:11:42.58 Here we're moving down to Madurai in the south, 00:11:42.61\00:11:46.70 this is a train shot out the windows passing the rice fields. 00:11:46.73\00:11:49.30 Some of India is very mountainous 00:11:49.33\00:11:51.53 some is flat with rice lands. 00:11:51.56\00:11:53.25 We're seeing the rice lands here 00:11:53.28\00:11:55.13 and here we are down in the next city in Madurai 00:11:55.16\00:11:59.22 where the Gospel Outreach workers are again, 00:11:59.25\00:12:01.38 they're very enthusiastic, they clap their hands, 00:12:01.41\00:12:03.47 they don't have a lot of musical instruments 00:12:03.50\00:12:05.35 but they make up for with enthusiasm, 00:12:05.38\00:12:07.76 it's a wonderful thing. 00:12:07.79\00:12:09.43 So they're meeting here in the church 00:12:09.46\00:12:13.58 and here the division representative 00:12:13.61\00:12:16.52 on the right of the picture is holding the lecture, 00:12:16.55\00:12:18.88 he's speaking in English 00:12:18.91\00:12:20.32 because he does not speak the local dialect. 00:12:20.35\00:12:22.54 And Pastor John Phillip on the left hand side 00:12:22.57\00:12:25.35 is translating it into the local dialect. 00:12:25.38\00:12:27.50 So it's a translation situation 00:12:27.53\00:12:29.82 even for the Indians who are native to the country. 00:12:29.85\00:12:33.43 Isn't that something when you got 2,600 dialects? 00:12:33.46\00:12:36.53 2,600, yes, it's an awesome challenge. 00:12:36.56\00:12:38.87 It really is. I would think so. 00:12:38.90\00:12:40.92 So, Don, we've got a really cool program here called 00:12:40.95\00:12:43.06 Adopt-a-Worker correct? 00:12:43.09\00:12:44.15 Yes. And you have some... 00:12:44.18\00:12:46.06 We have at least five workers in South India 00:12:46.09\00:12:48.44 who are in Adopt-a-Worker program 00:12:48.47\00:12:50.52 and we're very pleased with these workers, 00:12:50.55\00:12:52.41 they've been adopted. 00:12:52.44\00:12:53.47 They're gonna help us move the work forward. 00:12:53.50\00:12:55.71 Absolutely and you, our viewers, 00:12:55.74\00:12:57.24 you can be involved with adopting 00:12:57.27\00:12:59.18 a worker of Gospel Outreach worker, 00:12:59.21\00:13:00.82 you can updates and reports, 00:13:00.85\00:13:02.82 either we will help you have from Gospel Outreach 00:13:02.85\00:13:05.70 to find out what that Gospel Outreach worker is doing 00:13:05.73\00:13:08.61 and you can go to our website. 00:13:08.64\00:13:09.85 It's goaim.org for more information 00:13:09.88\00:13:13.29 and we have some video to share with you about it. 00:13:13.32\00:13:17.12 Gospel Outreach began a mission 20 years ago 00:13:17.15\00:13:19.87 by asking one simple question. 00:13:19.90\00:13:22.13 In a world filled with famine, hunger and starvation, 00:13:22.16\00:13:26.02 what is Jesus waiting for? 00:13:26.05\00:13:28.41 In a world filled with earthquakes, 00:13:28.44\00:13:30.11 hurricanes and natural calamities, 00:13:30.14\00:13:32.54 what is Jesus waiting for? 00:13:32.57\00:13:35.12 The gospel tells us in Matthew 24:14, 00:13:35.15\00:13:38.42 "And this gospel of the kingdom 00:13:38.45\00:13:39.96 shall be preached in all the world 00:13:39.99\00:13:41.84 for a witness unto all nations, 00:13:41.87\00:13:43.90 and then shall the end come." 00:13:43.93\00:13:48.42 Inspired by those words, Gospel Outreach began 00:13:48.45\00:13:51.28 with one worker and over the past 20 years, 00:13:51.31\00:13:53.96 it's grown into an organization 00:13:53.99\00:13:55.58 with 2, 200 workers in 40 plus countries. 00:13:55.61\00:13:59.73 Gospel Outreach is an independent 00:13:59.76\00:14:01.69 Seventh-day Adventist lay ministry 00:14:01.72\00:14:03.53 run entirely by volunteers. 00:14:03.56\00:14:06.73 Gospel Outreach works with the organized church 00:14:06.76\00:14:09.21 to sponsor Bible workers in the 10/40 Window. 00:14:09.24\00:14:12.96 Now what exactly is the 10/40 Window? 00:14:12.99\00:14:16.68 The 10/40 Window is a region of the eastern hemisphere 00:14:16.71\00:14:19.48 located between 10 and 40 degrees north of the equator. 00:14:19.51\00:14:23.62 What makes this region special? 00:14:23.65\00:14:26.21 97% of all the people in the world 00:14:26.24\00:14:28.84 who'd never heard the name of Jesus live here. 00:14:28.87\00:14:32.35 Now how exactly does Gospel Outreach work 00:14:32.38\00:14:34.92 to reach these people? 00:14:34.95\00:14:37.19 We do this by working with the church as it places 00:14:37.22\00:14:39.61 trained indigenous workers in new territories, 00:14:39.64\00:14:42.75 sending out disciples just as Jesus did. 00:14:42.78\00:14:46.30 When a Bible worker sponsored by Gospel Outreach 00:14:46.33\00:14:48.65 enters a new village, 00:14:48.68\00:14:49.96 it's estimated that in the first year, 00:14:49.99\00:14:52.06 an additional 300 individuals will be baptized 00:14:52.09\00:14:55.41 and commit their lives to Christ. 00:14:55.44\00:14:58.04 Individuals who have never heard 00:14:58.07\00:14:59.97 the amazing story of God's love 00:15:00.00\00:15:01.99 are getting to meet Jesus for the first time. 00:15:02.02\00:15:05.03 Now how can you help? 00:15:05.06\00:15:07.19 Bible workers rely on sponsorships to support them 00:15:07.22\00:15:09.93 and their families 00:15:09.96\00:15:11.02 as they share the unconditional love of God. 00:15:11.05\00:15:14.85 This is why Gospel Outreach is introducing 00:15:14.88\00:15:16.98 our Adopt-A-Worker program, 00:15:17.01\00:15:19.25 together with the church we identify new workers 00:15:19.28\00:15:22.35 and areas that need to be reached. 00:15:22.38\00:15:24.19 That is why it's our goal to introduce 00:15:24.22\00:15:26.06 a million new people to Jesus in the next three years. 00:15:26.09\00:15:29.79 All that is remaining for this work to begin 00:15:29.82\00:15:32.22 is your financial help. 00:15:32.25\00:15:34.97 In return, we will keep you updated on the exciting 00:15:35.00\00:15:37.88 progress of your worker 00:15:37.91\00:15:39.49 sending you stories and pictures of the lives 00:15:39.52\00:15:42.10 changed by your donations. 00:15:42.13\00:15:44.31 There are three ways you can get involved. 00:15:44.34\00:15:46.77 You can be a prayer partner for Gospel Outreach 00:15:46.80\00:15:48.95 by praying for our Bible workers. 00:15:48.98\00:15:51.50 Second, become an ambassador for our Adopt-A-Worker program 00:15:51.53\00:15:54.70 by telling their family and friends about 00:15:54.73\00:15:56.45 how they can make a difference too. 00:15:56.48\00:15:58.57 And finally, sponsor a Bible worker. 00:15:58.60\00:16:01.67 Call or visit the website today. 00:16:01.70\00:16:04.95 So now that you know a bit about Gospel Outreach 00:16:04.98\00:16:07.61 and now that you know what Jesus is waiting for, 00:16:07.64\00:16:10.28 the final question is what are you waiting for? 00:16:10.31\00:16:16.61 And won't you get involved and help with Gospel Outreach? 00:16:16.64\00:16:19.28 We are asking for you to help financially 00:16:19.31\00:16:21.57 so the work in India can continue. 00:16:21.60\00:16:24.70 As you've seen this Gospel Outreach workers been trained, 00:16:24.73\00:16:27.48 we would ask you to give your support to Gospel Outreach 00:16:27.51\00:16:30.39 and you can reach us, to do that 00:16:30.42\00:16:32.42 you can go to our website goaim.org 00:16:32.45\00:16:35.63 for more information about how you can adopt a worker in India. 00:16:35.66\00:16:39.23 So, Don Halenz, you are here giving us 00:16:39.26\00:16:41.08 a report on your territory 00:16:41.11\00:16:43.25 and you're gonna take us on another video. 00:16:43.28\00:16:45.24 Yes, we run another video at this point then. 00:16:45.27\00:16:48.82 This is another shard of workers. 00:16:48.85\00:16:51.95 This happens to be in the south of India, 00:16:51.98\00:16:55.52 farther south in rural reform 00:16:55.55\00:16:57.52 in the province of Idukki, Idukki province 00:16:57.55\00:17:00.54 and there are also workers there, just a quick shot. 00:17:00.57\00:17:02.38 And here my wife is walking with the Gospel Outreach worker 00:17:02.41\00:17:05.49 who wanted her to take her 00:17:05.52\00:17:06.55 to visit his mother. Oh, how nice. 00:17:06.58\00:17:08.42 And so she went down to see the mother. 00:17:08.45\00:17:10.14 She was visiting the mother I have strolled around the yard 00:17:10.17\00:17:13.07 and here was this object in the front yard, 00:17:13.10\00:17:15.41 it was a well where they get their water part of the year. 00:17:15.44\00:17:19.62 It was a fairly deep well 00:17:19.65\00:17:20.78 and it made me think of the need for the water of life. 00:17:20.81\00:17:24.42 How Christ is the water of life 00:17:24.45\00:17:26.11 and how a lot of Bible stories are written around wells 00:17:26.14\00:17:30.33 and Christ visiting with people there. 00:17:30.36\00:17:33.05 So here they use their own well 00:17:33.08\00:17:35.09 and then part of the year, they had to buy bottle water 00:17:35.12\00:17:37.21 because they don't have anything else. 00:17:37.24\00:17:38.89 So they were getting along 00:17:38.92\00:17:40.38 but that was the best that they could do then. 00:17:40.41\00:17:43.02 So when the rainy season comes, it fills up the well. 00:17:43.05\00:17:45.72 It fills up the well and then in the dry season, 00:17:45.75\00:17:48.20 it goes dry and they have to buy their water. 00:17:48.23\00:17:50.37 Is what bottle water expensive? 00:17:50.40\00:17:52.18 Oh, not too expensive, it's available 00:17:52.21\00:17:54.15 so they can use that and get by, 00:17:54.18\00:17:56.33 so that's what they have to do. 00:17:56.36\00:17:58.43 But when they use the well water, is that clean water? 00:17:58.46\00:18:02.10 I mean who knows. It may--who knows. 00:18:02.13\00:18:04.54 It's probably not clean enough for you or me 00:18:04.57\00:18:06.58 but it is good enough so they can drink and get by. 00:18:06.61\00:18:08.95 Yeah. So I suppose they are careful. 00:18:08.98\00:18:10.14 Yes, we get sick 'cause we're not 00:18:10.17\00:18:11.26 used to living in that environment. 00:18:11.29\00:18:12.32 We're not used to, local bugs and so on. 00:18:12.35\00:18:14.99 Wow, so how was your wife's 00:18:15.02\00:18:16.56 visit with Gospel Outreach mother? 00:18:16.59\00:18:18.41 She did fine with her mother and it was a nice little visit, 00:18:18.44\00:18:21.15 we prayed with the lady and then we left. 00:18:21.18\00:18:23.05 Unfortunately we didn't get pictures of that 00:18:23.08\00:18:25.13 but it was a nice visit. 00:18:25.16\00:18:26.86 That fellow really wanted us to meet his mother 00:18:26.89\00:18:28.58 and so to make a little personal contact 00:18:28.61\00:18:30.78 so we did that and we felt nice. Isn't that nice? 00:18:30.81\00:18:31.84 He was proud of his mom, he wanted you to meet her. 00:18:31.87\00:18:33.74 He want us to meet his mom, that's right. 00:18:33.77\00:18:35.36 That's fantastic. So we got another video, okay. 00:18:35.39\00:18:37.92 Okay. Let's have another look. 00:18:37.95\00:18:40.27 Here we left and we took this KSRT bus 00:18:40.30\00:18:44.22 so it's very super fast. Super fast, that's what I saw. 00:18:44.25\00:18:47.87 Yeah, here you are bouncing along with the bus 00:18:47.90\00:18:50.29 going up into the higher elevations, 00:18:50.32\00:18:52.12 we left there and we're going across to the city of Trivandrum 00:18:52.15\00:18:56.02 but we're going through the tea plantations here 00:18:56.05\00:18:58.16 right around of the bus. Gorgeous. 00:18:58.19\00:18:59.91 And you know, be a one shot here, 00:18:59.94\00:19:02.24 we arrived there and this is the Gospel Outreach workers 00:19:02.27\00:19:04.84 who were in the city of Trivandrum. 00:19:04.87\00:19:07.08 Now there's a lady on your left in the picture, 00:19:07.11\00:19:09.18 we're gonna see more of her 00:19:09.21\00:19:10.35 in just a couple of minutes. Okay. 00:19:10.38\00:19:11.76 She was a Gospel Outreach worker. 00:19:11.79\00:19:13.83 She was married to a pastor 00:19:13.86\00:19:16.21 and unfortunately, her husband just died a month ago. Oh. 00:19:16.24\00:19:20.07 And so she still carrying on, 00:19:20.10\00:19:22.77 working with Gospel Outreach and doing the very best she can 00:19:22.80\00:19:26.12 but we have to remember that lady in our prayers. 00:19:26.15\00:19:29.10 We have another video of her 00:19:29.13\00:19:30.58 in just a moment, the last video. 00:19:30.61\00:19:32.40 But anyway, I'm very pleased with what she's doing 00:19:32.43\00:19:35.29 and I think she's doing a fine job there. 00:19:35.32\00:19:38.55 So what did her husband die from do we know? 00:19:38.58\00:19:40.40 I don't know if it was a cancer 00:19:40.43\00:19:42.00 or just what the cause of death was, 00:19:42.03\00:19:43.91 it was very sad but anyway... 00:19:43.94\00:19:45.83 What is their medical help situation? 00:19:45.86\00:19:48.13 They have healthcare in India. 00:19:48.16\00:19:49.80 The government supplies hospitals and medical care 00:19:49.83\00:19:53.54 for the people so they can get medical attention 00:19:53.57\00:19:56.15 and it comes with no cost to them, 00:19:56.18\00:19:57.64 however some procedures probably are not available. 00:19:57.67\00:20:01.19 They really can't get those procedures 00:20:01.22\00:20:03.10 they just have to take what's available. 00:20:03.13\00:20:05.73 So they do have some healthcare 00:20:05.76\00:20:07.51 which is a wonderful thing for them. 00:20:07.54\00:20:09.47 But if they're high in the mountains, 00:20:09.50\00:20:10.79 are there hospitals up in there? 00:20:10.82\00:20:12.07 No, so they may have to go, they may have transportation 00:20:12.10\00:20:14.83 to reach the hospital, they may have expenses 00:20:14.86\00:20:17.99 while they're there, the medicines 00:20:18.02\00:20:20.10 and the doctors fees are paid for 00:20:20.13\00:20:22.35 by the government which is wonderful. 00:20:22.38\00:20:24.39 And if they have any extraneous expenses, 00:20:24.42\00:20:27.01 well, then that's up to them. 00:20:27.04\00:20:28.17 So it's a problem if they do get sick 00:20:28.20\00:20:30.39 but they do have the basic cover 00:20:30.42\00:20:32.28 which is a good thing for us. That is a good thing. 00:20:32.31\00:20:34.06 that is a good thing. It's a very good thing for us. 00:20:34.09\00:20:35.91 Good, all right, so you have another video for us? 00:20:35.94\00:20:38.72 One more video. Is it super fast? 00:20:38.75\00:20:40.89 It's-- not too long. 00:20:40.92\00:20:43.57 This is a village where this lady took us, 00:20:43.60\00:20:46.02 there's a couple of village arts of village life 00:20:46.05\00:20:48.79 and here she is coming into the house, 00:20:48.82\00:20:51.55 her name is Mrs. Suresh Gandhi 00:20:51.58\00:20:56.51 and she took us into visit a family 00:20:56.54\00:20:58.37 where she's holding an effort and meeting with the families. 00:20:58.40\00:21:02.30 In many cases, we read in this 00:21:02.33\00:21:04.32 country have evangelist campuses, 00:21:04.35\00:21:06.14 hundreds of people coming in, 00:21:06.17\00:21:07.32 maybe hundreds baptized there's twos and threes 00:21:07.35\00:21:10.52 there in India in this part of the country. 00:21:10.55\00:21:13.03 Family members accept Christ 00:21:13.06\00:21:16.34 and then others maybe the neighbors who accept. 00:21:16.37\00:21:18.17 So here they come into the house. 00:21:18.20\00:21:20.07 She's invited the neighbors to come in and to study with her 00:21:20.10\00:21:23.26 and she's just entering there 00:21:23.29\00:21:25.44 and then this one more lady comes in. 00:21:25.47\00:21:28.45 So you'll see shard inside the house. 00:21:28.48\00:21:30.82 Very simple house, very humble dwelling, 00:21:30.85\00:21:34.04 but these people are used to that 00:21:34.07\00:21:36.46 and they love the Lord. 00:21:36.49\00:21:38.80 So here she is, she's gonna be speaking to them 00:21:38.83\00:21:41.28 in just a moment and here they... 00:21:41.31\00:21:44.14 And their kids, there are two. Yes. 00:21:44.17\00:21:46.13 The kids-- lots of kids, 00:21:46.16\00:21:48.13 most women and children 00:21:48.16\00:21:49.54 we find out taking the Bible studies. 00:21:49.57\00:21:51.85 And here she is speaking to them, 00:21:51.88\00:21:53.45 studying the Bible with them, the work of a true Bible worker, 00:21:53.48\00:21:56.88 giving instruction and what they need to be doing. 00:21:56.91\00:22:00.55 So it's a very good thing that she's doing 00:22:00.58\00:22:03.25 and I'm pleased with her and hope that 00:22:03.28\00:22:05.07 she's gonna be able to continue on 00:22:05.10\00:22:07.28 as a Bible worker for a number of years. 00:22:07.31\00:22:09.62 Here we're leaving the home. 00:22:09.65\00:22:10.84 They had a village festival of some sort in India, 00:22:10.87\00:22:15.60 and I thought it was rather unusual 00:22:15.63\00:22:17.01 to go through this little village 00:22:17.04\00:22:18.13 and see the streamers over the road. 00:22:18.16\00:22:20.29 Yeah, it's canopy. The canopy, all along there. 00:22:20.32\00:22:23.37 So it's a good thing that they've done. 00:22:23.40\00:22:27.63 I wonder if they-- do light up at night? 00:22:27.66\00:22:29.33 I think some cases they have light. 00:22:29.36\00:22:32.00 This is the last shot. This little girl she is so cute. 00:22:32.03\00:22:35.52 My wife just fell in love with this young lady. 00:22:35.55\00:22:39.02 And when we first met her, she was afraid of us. 00:22:39.05\00:22:41.28 She was afraid to be touched, to held by foreigners 00:22:41.31\00:22:44.94 and my wife just wanted to take her 00:22:44.97\00:22:46.36 and hug her 'cause she's was cute. Yeah. 00:22:46.39\00:22:48.45 So anyway, after the visit, went along for little while, 00:22:48.48\00:22:52.84 she became more friendly and she began to open up to us 00:22:52.87\00:22:56.15 and my wife said you know 00:22:56.18\00:22:58.18 I really want to meet this girl in the heaven. 00:22:58.21\00:23:00.12 I want her to be in heaven. That's the appeal. 00:23:00.15\00:23:02.48 We want to meet these people in heaven 00:23:02.51\00:23:04.95 when we get there and so that was our experience in India 00:23:04.98\00:23:08.32 as far as what I have the video for. 00:23:08.35\00:23:10.61 One who knows, often times we just have the chance once 00:23:10.64\00:23:14.24 with people here so are we going to take that chance 00:23:14.27\00:23:16.82 that the Lord gives us or we gonna say 00:23:16.85\00:23:19.05 I don't have time, I don't have enough money 00:23:19.08\00:23:20.86 I don't have enough of this or we gonna take that? 00:23:20.89\00:23:23.08 We can think lots of excuses why we can't get involved 00:23:23.11\00:23:25.66 or can't work with Gospel Outreach. 00:23:25.69\00:23:27.54 I'm too old, I'm too young, I don't have enough experience, 00:23:27.57\00:23:30.06 I don't have the right qualifications, 00:23:30.09\00:23:32.08 there are a lot of reasons we can give 00:23:32.11\00:23:33.71 while we really don't want to get involved 00:23:33.74\00:23:36.21 with Gospel Outreach but in the end analysis, 00:23:36.24\00:23:39.74 it's the message that needs go to the world 00:23:39.77\00:23:41.68 and that's what we want to do. 00:23:41.71\00:23:43.20 Well, on seeing how the love of Lord 00:23:43.23\00:23:45.92 from Him through His Bible 00:23:45.95\00:23:48.06 and being able to share that with other people 00:23:48.09\00:23:50.05 and to see their lives change and it is. 00:23:50.08\00:23:53.53 In our families, it's with at work, 00:23:53.56\00:23:55.47 it's with our friends, 00:23:55.50\00:23:56.69 it's all about who we are. That's right. 00:23:56.72\00:23:59.34 Are we gonna share this good news 00:23:59.37\00:24:00.78 or we gonna keep that for ourselves. Yes. 00:24:00.81\00:24:02.84 Well, my wife and I served these missionaries 00:24:02.87\00:24:04.79 for the Seventh-day Adventist church, for 13 years. 00:24:04.82\00:24:06.95 We were in the Far East, we were in Singapore 00:24:06.98\00:24:09.90 and the Philippines for a number of years 00:24:09.93\00:24:11.92 and it sort of gets into your skin after a while. 00:24:11.95\00:24:14.06 You just really want to do what you can to share 00:24:14.09\00:24:16.09 so the fact that we're retired now, 00:24:16.12\00:24:18.77 we can work with Gospel Outreach. 00:24:18.80\00:24:20.15 It's been a great blessing to us and we enjoyed going to India 00:24:20.18\00:24:24.27 and visiting the people 00:24:24.30\00:24:25.61 and I think once you been a missionary 00:24:25.64\00:24:27.98 sort of you always want to be in missionary again. 00:24:28.01\00:24:30.51 This is true but we too can be a missionary here at home 00:24:30.54\00:24:33.57 and you can be a missionary here through Gospel Outreach. 00:24:33.60\00:24:36.82 Maybe God has called you to be a business person 00:24:36.85\00:24:38.96 or working in healthcare or you're a teacher, 00:24:38.99\00:24:41.79 maybe you're a stay home mom 00:24:41.82\00:24:43.11 and you're ministering being a missionary to your kids 00:24:43.14\00:24:46.18 but whatever you're doing, our God has a purpose for you 00:24:46.21\00:24:48.71 and God has a purpose for this gospel mission 00:24:48.74\00:24:51.43 Gospel Outreach workers rather 00:24:51.46\00:24:53.49 and you can help support them 00:24:53.52\00:24:55.50 as they are out like that dear one 00:24:55.53\00:24:57.09 that was going to have her effort 00:24:57.12\00:24:59.83 there in local home with the women and children. 00:24:59.86\00:25:02.61 And so we ask you if you could please give of what you can. 00:25:02.64\00:25:07.12 And sometimes like Don says, you know we don't think that 00:25:07.15\00:25:09.06 we have enough, but you know what? 00:25:09.09\00:25:10.58 If I give a dollar and you give a dollar 00:25:10.61\00:25:12.26 and next person gives a dollar, it all adds up 00:25:12.29\00:25:14.76 and that's where we can together 00:25:14.79\00:25:16.78 I give to an organization like Gospel outreach. 00:25:16.81\00:25:19.72 So there are several ways that you can reach us 00:25:19.75\00:25:21.98 and to pledge your support to Gospel Outreach, 00:25:22.01\00:25:24.64 our address is Gospel Outreach, 00:25:24.67\00:25:26.06 PO Box 8 in College Place, Washington, 00:25:26.09\00:25:28.65 our zip is 99324, 00:25:28.68\00:25:30.35 our phone number is 509-525-2951 00:25:30.38\00:25:34.71 and if you like to visit our website, 00:25:34.74\00:25:36.35 our web address is goaim.org 00:25:36.38\00:25:39.76 and you can follow all the links to do a donation online 00:25:39.79\00:25:44.02 and if you want to have that be an automatic withdrawal 00:25:44.05\00:25:46.27 and do that every month, 00:25:46.30\00:25:47.62 we would love that and so with the Lord. 00:25:47.65\00:25:50.06 So if you want to do that, please visit the website, 00:25:50.09\00:25:52.06 we do have a Canadian address 00:25:52.09\00:25:53.76 where our address is Gospel Outreach, Canada, 00:25:53.79\00:25:56.61 PO Box 32035, West Kelowna, B.C., 00:25:56.64\00:26:00.10 where the postal code is V4T 3G2 in Canada 00:26:00.13\00:26:04.41 and our Canadian address, phone number rather 00:26:04.44\00:26:06.43 if you want to talk with someone there is 778-754-2079. 00:26:06.46\00:26:12.44 So Gospel Outreach is working in 15 nations 00:26:12.47\00:26:15.52 with hundred missions 00:26:15.55\00:26:16.71 with 2,000 men and women workers 00:26:16.74\00:26:19.49 and that number is growing. 00:26:19.52\00:26:21.54 And if you like to find out more about Gospel Outreach, 00:26:21.57\00:26:24.49 we do have a newsletter 00:26:24.52\00:26:25.58 which we'd be happy to send to you, it is free 00:26:25.61\00:26:28.89 and just ask for Adventures and Missions 00:26:28.92\00:26:31.85 and that can be yours. 00:26:31.88\00:26:33.36 Well, Don, thank you so much for joining us here. 00:26:33.39\00:26:35.13 Thank you so much.
