of thing that would explain what

the new covenant is.

To understand the new covenant,
it's good to take a peek at the

The old covenant, and you read
this in Deuteronomy, I think

it's chapter 4, verse 13, says,
"And He gave them His covenant

commanded them to observe."

The covenant was
ratified with blood.

Even in the days of Moses, there
was a sacrifice that was made

that ratified the covenant.

And so it's saying that the new
covenant is the same law written

Instead of it being based on the

subsequent chapters, talks
about his visions that pronounce

Damascus, on the Philistines, on

several countries.

They all came true,
many of them during the time

of Nebuchadnezzar.

He went marching through the
Middle East, and he conquered

many of these cities,
and Damascus was destroyed.

Now Damascus is rebuilt, and
if you look at verse 1, it says:

"The burden against Damascus.

'Behold, Damascus will cease
from being a city, and it will

be a ruinous heap.'"

Well, that did happen,
but it was eventually rebuilt.

Some cities that were destroyed
were never rebuilt, and God--it

specifically says that Babylon,
ancient Babylon, would never be

rebuilt, and it wasn't.

I think there's some tourist
ruins that were rebuilt there,

been a thriving city.
