00:00:38.87\00:00:43.91 Now here's your host from Amazing Facts International, 00:00:43.94\00:00:47.84 Pastor Jean Ross. 00:00:47.88\00:00:49.94 Jean Ross: Hello, friends. 00:00:49.98\00:00:51.28 How about an amazing fact? 00:00:51.31\00:00:52.65 In the summer of 1823 near the fork of the Grand River in 00:00:52.68\00:00:55.58 present-day South Dakota, Hugh Glass, a fur trapper and 00:00:55.62\00:00:59.29 frontiersman, encountered a grizzly bear and her two cubs. 00:00:59.32\00:01:03.93 Before he could fire his rifle, the bear charged, clawing and 00:01:03.96\00:01:07.46 biting him severely. 00:01:07.50\00:01:09.23 His fellow trappers managed to kill the bear, but Glass was 00:01:09.26\00:01:12.40 left badly mauled and unconscious. 00:01:12.43\00:01:15.44 Believing that he would soon die from his injuries, the 00:01:15.47\00:01:17.84 expedition leader, Andrew Henry, asked John Fitzgerald and a 00:01:17.87\00:01:22.21 young Jim Bridger, who would later become a legendary 00:01:22.24\00:01:25.41 mountain man himself, to stay behind with Glass until he died. 00:01:25.45\00:01:30.22 After a few days of waiting and fearing attacks by hostile 00:01:30.25\00:01:33.36 Indians, Fitzgerald and Bridger convinced of Glass's imminent 00:01:33.39\00:01:37.29 death, took his rifle, knife, and other equipment and returned 00:01:37.33\00:01:41.90 to the expedition group, reporting that Glass had died. 00:01:41.93\00:01:45.67 But against all odds, Glass survived. 00:01:45.70\00:01:48.90 He regained consciousness and he found himself alone, devoid of 00:01:48.94\00:01:53.11 his supplies, suffering from a broken leg, exposed ribs from 00:01:53.14\00:01:57.55 where the bear had torn away his flesh, and serious injuries to 00:01:57.58\00:02:01.15 his head and arms. 00:02:01.18\00:02:02.75 Nevertheless, he was determined to live and reach safety. 00:02:02.78\00:02:06.92 He used a stick to stabilize his broken leg and surviving on 00:02:06.96\00:02:10.89 wild berries and leftover meat from wolf kills, he crawled more 00:02:10.93\00:02:15.66 than 200 miles to Fort Kiowa, a journey that took him over 00:02:15.70\00:02:20.00 6 weeks. 00:02:20.04\00:02:21.84 Glass's incredible survival journey became legendary, 00:02:21.87\00:02:25.51 symbolizing the harsh realities of the American frontier and the 00:02:25.54\00:02:29.18 extreme measures that Hugh Glass took to cling to life. 00:02:29.21\00:02:33.25 You know, friends, the story reminds me of the story of Job 00:02:33.28\00:02:36.32 in the Bible who also, facing immense suffering, yet 00:02:36.35\00:02:40.86 maintained an unwavering faith in God. 00:02:40.89\00:02:43.96 During his ordeal, he declared, "Though He slay me, yet will I 00:02:43.99\00:02:47.93 trust Him." 00:02:47.96\00:02:49.23 That is Job 13:15. 00:02:49.26\00:02:50.60 Through perseverance and faith in God, we too can endure trials 00:02:50.63\00:02:54.44 and tribulations, knowing that God will ultimately deliver us 00:02:54.47\00:02:58.04 from all evil and pain and will one day make all things new. 00:02:58.07\00:03:02.44 This is the hope that has sustained Christians throughout 00:03:02.48\00:03:05.25 history, enabling them to face persecution, sorrow, and 00:03:05.28\00:03:10.09 even death. 00:03:10.12\00:03:11.49 You know, Jesus gave these words of promise to all believers. 00:03:11.52\00:03:15.06 John chapter 14 verse 1, Jesus said: 00:03:15.09\00:03:18.26 "Let not your hearts be troubled; 00:03:18.29\00:03:20.70 if you believe in God, believe also in Me. 00:03:20.73\00:03:23.33 In My Father's house," Jesus said, 00:03:23.37\00:03:24.97 "there are many mansions; if it were not so, 00:03:25.00\00:03:26.90 I would have told you. 00:03:26.94\00:03:28.97 I go to prepare a place for you," He said. 00:03:29.00\00:03:31.17 "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again 00:03:31.21\00:03:35.11 and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, 00:03:35.14\00:03:37.98 there you may be also." 00:03:38.01\00:03:40.18 That is the promise. 00:03:40.22\00:03:41.55 Jesus said He will come again. 00:03:41.58\00:03:43.55 This world is not our home, but we're looking forward to a 00:03:43.59\00:03:47.32 heavenly home, a New Jerusalem where there is peace and joy, no 00:03:47.36\00:03:52.13 more pain, no more sorrow. 00:03:52.16\00:03:53.53 God will make all things new. 00:03:53.56\00:03:55.86 And friends, do you have that hope in your heart? 00:03:55.90\00:03:59.20 Do you believe that heaven is for real, and that Jesus is 00:03:59.23\00:04:03.44 coming back and that you can have a place in that 00:04:03.47\00:04:06.71 heavenly kingdom? 00:04:06.74\00:04:08.11 I hope so. 00:04:08.14\00:04:09.44 We do have a free offer, Pastor Aron, that talks about this 00:04:09.48\00:04:12.38 wonderful hope that Christians have. 00:04:12.41\00:04:15.22 Aron Crews: Yes, we do. 00:04:15.25\00:04:16.58 And it is a booklet entitled, "Heaven: Is It for Real?" 00:04:16.62\00:04:20.92 written by actually my grandfather, Joe Crews. 00:04:20.96\00:04:23.73 And if you would like to get your hands on this for a deeper This world is not our final home. 00:04:57.66\00:05:01.10 Pastor Doug is out this evening, but this is live 00:05:01.13\00:05:03.57 interactive Bible study, "Bible Answers Live." he's going to be working the phones. 00:05:32.29\00:05:33.86 We appreciate him taking the time to. 00:05:33.90\00:05:36.56 He's got a wealth of information about the Bible as well. 00:05:36.60\00:05:39.43 So he'll be answering these Bible questions with me as we 00:05:39.47\00:05:42.27 take the various questions. 00:05:42.30\00:05:44.31 But Pastor Crews, before we go to the phone lines, why don't we 00:05:44.34\00:05:47.51 start with prayer? 00:05:47.54\00:05:49.78 Aron: Absolutely. 00:05:49.81\00:05:51.11 Let's bow our heads. 00:05:51.15\00:05:52.48 Dear heavenly Father, Lord, we thank You so much for this 00:05:52.51\00:05:54.12 opportunity to study Your Word and to field some of these 00:05:54.15\00:05:57.25 questions that are on so many people's minds and hearts. 00:05:57.29\00:06:00.39 So Lord, we ask for Your Spirit to be here as we share 00:06:00.42\00:06:04.23 faithfully from Your Word what the scriptures say about these 00:06:04.26\00:06:08.00 various things and give those who are inquisitive minds trying 00:06:08.03\00:06:11.83 to figure out for themselves a special blessing as they listen 00:06:11.87\00:06:15.00 for themselves, but then ultimately turn back to the 00:06:15.04\00:06:17.41 Bible and find the truth of Your Word for themselves. 00:06:17.44\00:06:20.71 We pray in Jesus's name, amen. 00:06:20.74\00:06:22.44 Jean: Amen. 00:06:22.48\00:06:23.81 All right, well, we've got a number of folks who are waiting 00:06:23.85\00:06:25.85 with their Bible question. 00:06:25.88\00:06:27.18 Who do we have first? 00:06:27.22\00:06:28.55 Aron: All right, our first question is a caller from the 00:06:28.58\00:06:31.05 great state that we're in, California, and his name is Lou, 00:06:31.09\00:06:34.06 calling in with a question about Daniel 11. 00:06:34.09\00:06:37.96 So Lou, hey, welcome to the show. 00:06:37.99\00:06:39.86 What's your question for us today? 00:06:39.89\00:06:42.20 Lou: Yeah, thank you. 00:06:42.23\00:06:43.53 My question was from-- about the king of the North and the king 00:06:43.57\00:06:49.50 of the South going to war in the very last days. 00:06:49.54\00:06:53.31 And I'm wondering if you can elaborate on that a little bit, 00:06:53.34\00:06:56.58 expand a little, and tell us who you think they might be and so 00:06:56.61\00:07:00.45 forth and so on. 00:07:00.48\00:07:01.78 Jean: Okay, great. 00:07:01.82\00:07:03.15 All right, we appreciate the question. 00:07:03.18\00:07:04.42 Of course, you read about the king of the North and the king 00:07:04.45\00:07:06.82 of the South in Daniel chapter 11. 00:07:06.86\00:07:08.36 It's the longest chapter that you'll find in the book 00:07:08.39\00:07:10.56 of Daniel. 00:07:10.59\00:07:11.89 It is also the most detailed prophecy talking about the rise 00:07:11.93\00:07:15.30 and fall of different kingdoms. 00:07:15.33\00:07:17.23 So the first reference that we have to the king of the North 00:07:17.27\00:07:19.90 and the king of the South relates to different kingdoms 00:07:19.93\00:07:22.60 over time. 00:07:22.64\00:07:23.94 Of course, you have Babylon that fell to Medo-Persia, and 00:07:23.97\00:07:26.84 Medo-Persia fell to Greece. 00:07:26.88\00:07:28.44 And then the Grecian kingdom was divided up into four 00:07:28.48\00:07:30.61 different parts. 00:07:30.65\00:07:31.98 And there were two prominent generals that sort of took 00:07:32.01\00:07:34.82 charge: the one in the north and the one in the south. 00:07:34.85\00:07:38.45 The one in the south was Ptolemy and he kind of established the 00:07:38.49\00:07:41.16 Ptolemy dynasty or Ptolemy dynasty, depending how you 00:07:41.19\00:07:44.46 pronounce it. 00:07:44.49\00:07:45.83 The Seleucid dynasty was in the north and the two powers, the 00:07:45.86\00:07:50.43 king of the North and the king of the South, through much of 00:07:50.47\00:07:53.40 the chapter describes their activities. 00:07:53.44\00:07:56.07 They were going back and forth to war. 00:07:56.10\00:07:57.44 Now, the reason those two are mentioned is because the people 00:07:57.47\00:08:00.34 of God, Jerusalem, was right in the middle, between the king of 00:08:00.38\00:08:03.91 the North and the king of the South. 00:08:03.95\00:08:05.28 And so every time they would embark on a military campaign, 00:08:05.31\00:08:08.38 it would very often affect the people of God, and Israel would 00:08:08.42\00:08:11.72 change hands from the power of the Grecian Empire back to 00:08:11.75\00:08:15.59 the Egyptians. 00:08:15.62\00:08:16.93 It would go back and forth. 00:08:16.96\00:08:18.29 But when you get to Revelation chapter the king of the North 00:08:18.33\00:08:20.86 and the king of the South, even a little before that actually, 00:08:20.90\00:08:23.06 the king of the North begins to take on more of a role of, 00:08:23.10\00:08:26.03 first, Pagan Rome. 00:08:26.07\00:08:27.84 And then it follows with Papal Rome, and much of the chapter 00:08:27.87\00:08:31.21 nearing the end deals with the king of the North representing 00:08:31.24\00:08:33.98 the papal power. 00:08:34.01\00:08:35.38 And the king of the South has been identified in two ways. 00:08:35.41\00:08:38.08 The one would be the king of the South would represent those 00:08:38.11\00:08:41.75 religions that are opposed to God, sort of paganism and even 00:08:41.78\00:08:47.06 atheism that we see coming up during the French revolution. 00:08:47.09\00:08:50.73 Some new interpretations, especially as you relate to 00:08:50.76\00:08:53.53 Chapter 40, I feel that perhaps the king of the South might be a 00:08:53.56\00:08:57.03 coalition of some atheistic kingdoms or powers that are 00:08:57.07\00:09:02.77 backing Islamic nations. 00:09:02.80\00:09:05.14 Of course, Egypt today is Islamic. 00:09:05.17\00:09:07.11 So some are suggesting maybe you have on the one side, you have 00:09:07.14\00:09:10.45 the Western powers supporting the papal power and you have 00:09:10.48\00:09:14.78 China, maybe even North Korea and Russia and some of these 00:09:14.82\00:09:17.72 others supporting the Islamic nations. 00:09:17.75\00:09:20.16 And maybe there's a big showdown. 00:09:20.19\00:09:21.89 Now, of course, chapter 40 onwards is still in the future. 00:09:21.92\00:09:24.99 So some of the specifics of this we don't quite yet know, but 00:09:25.03\00:09:29.36 that's the leading interpretation that-- the 00:09:29.40\00:09:31.47 leading idea as to who the king of the North and the king of the 00:09:31.50\00:09:34.04 South is. 00:09:34.07\00:09:35.40 It is a very detailed study. 00:09:35.44\00:09:36.67 And if you'd like to learn more about that, I'd encourage you to 00:09:36.71\00:09:39.24 take a look at some of the resources at Amazing Facts. 00:09:39.27\00:09:42.11 But it is fascinating and we're living right around that time 00:09:42.14\00:09:45.78 period after verse 40 that you read about in Daniel chapter 11. 00:09:45.81\00:09:50.35 All right, thank you, Lou. 00:09:50.39\00:09:51.69 Who do we have next? 00:09:51.72\00:09:53.05 Aron: All right, our next caller, his name is Patrick, 00:09:53.09\00:09:54.59 calling in from Canada. 00:09:54.62\00:09:55.99 Seems like, Patrick, you have a question about the Apocrypha. 00:09:56.02\00:09:59.23 Welcome to the show. 00:09:59.26\00:10:00.56 Patrick: Good evening. 00:10:00.60\00:10:02.56 Yes, my question is about the 54 books of the Apocrypha and 00:10:02.60\00:10:08.90 its relationship to the Bible. 00:10:08.94\00:10:10.34 I'm not sure if it has a relationship or I just want to 00:10:10.37\00:10:13.48 find out if it's inspired or not. 00:10:13.51\00:10:16.24 Jean: Okay, very good. 00:10:16.28\00:10:17.61 The apocryphal books, you'll sometimes find it in 00:10:17.65\00:10:21.22 the Catholic Bible. 00:10:21.25\00:10:22.58 You don't often find it in Protestant Bibles. 00:10:22.62\00:10:24.45 The reason for that is that when the Reformers were working on 00:10:24.49\00:10:27.16 putting together what we call the Canon of Scripture or the 00:10:27.19\00:10:29.56 Bible as we have it now, they recognized that the apocryphal 00:10:29.59\00:10:33.43 books didn't really line up with the other inspired books of the 00:10:33.46\00:10:37.40 Bible for several reasons. 00:10:37.43\00:10:39.23 For one, the authorship of some of the apocryphal books is 00:10:39.27\00:10:43.81 somewhat questionable. 00:10:43.84\00:10:45.27 Sometimes somebody would write a book and then they would ascribe 00:10:45.31\00:10:48.64 a name of a famous Bible character like Enoch or 00:10:48.68\00:10:51.58 something like that. 00:10:51.61\00:10:53.05 But it wasn't really the one who wrote the book, to kind of give 00:10:53.08\00:10:56.25 it credence. 00:10:56.28\00:10:57.62 Also some of the doctrine of some of the apocryphal books 00:10:57.65\00:11:00.99 actually contradict Old Testament passages as well as 00:11:01.02\00:11:04.29 the New Testament books written by Paul and the apostles. 00:11:04.33\00:11:07.66 There is some interesting history that you can read about 00:11:07.66\00:11:10.17 in the apocryphal, especially in the books of Maccabees. 00:11:10.20\00:11:12.67 But they're more historical and they describe that time period 00:11:12.70\00:11:15.57 from sort of the inter Testament time periods that bring you from 00:11:15.60\00:11:21.04 the last book written, Malachi, up until Matthew, what was 00:11:21.08\00:11:24.35 happening in Israel during that time. 00:11:24.38\00:11:26.48 So the reason they're not part of the Bible is because the 00:11:26.51\00:11:28.95 Protestants recognized that they're not inspired. 00:11:28.98\00:11:32.02 They're not on the same level as the rest of scripture and the-- 00:11:32.05\00:11:36.06 who the author is, is somewhat questionable at some of 00:11:36.09\00:11:38.53 the books. 00:11:38.56\00:11:39.86 So that's why you don't find it in the Protestant Bible. 00:11:39.89\00:11:43.10 Aron: Yeah, great answer. 00:11:43.13\00:11:44.47 All right, next question. 00:11:44.50\00:11:45.80 Our next caller is calling in from Ohio and we have Glenn here 00:11:45.83\00:11:49.44 with us on the line. 00:11:49.47\00:11:50.77 Hi, Glenn, what is your question for us this evening? 00:11:50.81\00:11:53.88 Glenn: Yes, good evening. 00:11:53.91\00:11:55.24 Thank you, gentlemen, for taking my call. 00:11:55.28\00:11:57.55 You know, when a person is converted, they are forgiven. 00:11:57.58\00:12:02.98 And then with the application of 1 John 1:9, if they do bad 00:12:03.02\00:12:07.42 they can be forgiven until the end or they can jump off the 00:12:07.46\00:12:11.59 wagon anytime and jump back on. 00:12:11.63\00:12:13.46 The love of God covers them during that period of gestation. 00:12:13.50\00:12:17.47 But if they do endure unto the end, Matthew 24:13 tells us 00:12:17.50\00:12:22.10 they will receive the gift of salvation and they receive it 00:12:22.14\00:12:26.27 eternally secure. 00:12:26.31\00:12:28.61 So therefore, the answer to the question, "Can a saved man 00:12:28.64\00:12:32.31 choose to be lost?" is wondrously, no. 00:12:32.35\00:12:36.82 Jean: All right, well, yeah, let me share a little bit about that 00:12:36.85\00:12:40.09 because it sounds like, yeah, you made an 00:12:40.12\00:12:41.79 interesting statement. 00:12:41.82\00:12:43.12 Can a saved man choose to be lost? 00:12:43.16\00:12:45.03 Well, I think we have freedom of choice. 00:12:45.06\00:12:47.76 Even a converted person doesn't lose their freedom of choice. 00:12:47.83\00:12:50.80 That's why the Bible, as you mentioned, Jesus said, "He that 00:12:50.83\00:12:53.23 endures to the end shall be saved." 00:12:53.27\00:12:54.77 But for someone that is trusting in Jesus, that is surrendering 00:12:54.80\00:12:58.71 to Him, Jesus promises that they are secure. 00:12:58.74\00:13:02.58 No one can take them out of His hand, but they can still choose 00:13:02.61\00:13:06.55 if they will. 00:13:06.58\00:13:08.02 So if we're trusting in Jesus, we can have confidence that He 00:13:08.05\00:13:11.15 forgives us, 1 John 1, verse 9: "If we confess our sins, He is 00:13:11.19\00:13:14.36 faithful and just to forgive us, to cleanse us for 00:13:14.39\00:13:15.96 all unrighteousness." 00:13:15.99\00:13:17.33 And as long as we are abiding in Him, as Jesus said, "Abide in Me 00:13:17.36\00:13:20.13 and I in you, as the branch cannot be a fruit of itself 00:13:20.16\00:13:22.63 except that abide in the vine, neither can you except you abide 00:13:22.66\00:13:25.23 in Me." 00:13:25.27\00:13:26.60 And Jesus says if you do not abide, they will be removed, the 00:13:26.63\00:13:29.04 branch will be removed from the vine. 00:13:29.07\00:13:30.71 So yes, there is an abiding that's needed and we choose 00:13:30.74\00:13:35.08 to abide. 00:13:35.11\00:13:36.44 It's something that we do. 00:13:36.48\00:13:37.78 We still have freedom right up until, you know, Jesus comes, we 00:13:37.81\00:13:41.32 can choose. 00:13:41.35\00:13:42.68 So nobody loses that freedom to choose. 00:13:42.72\00:13:45.05 We choose to be saved and we choose to remain in a saving 00:13:45.09\00:13:48.16 relationship with Jesus. 00:13:48.19\00:13:49.52 And as long as we are doing that, we have no fear that we'll 00:13:49.56\00:13:52.66 be lost because we are trusting in Him, and His blood cleanses 00:13:52.69\00:13:55.83 us from all sin. 00:13:55.86\00:13:57.17 You know, we do have a book called, "Can a Saved Man Choose 00:13:57.20\00:13:59.50 to Be Lost?" 00:13:59.53\00:14:00.90 I think that deals with this question exactly. 00:14:00.94\00:14:02.80 And we'll be happy to send it to anyone who calls and asks. 00:14:02.84\00:14:05.61 What's the number? 00:14:05.64\00:14:06.94 Aron: It's 1-800-835-6747 to get that. 00:14:06.98\00:14:12.28 I think that's the title of the book: "Can a Saved Man Choose to 00:14:12.31\00:14:14.88 Be Lost?" 00:14:14.92\00:14:16.22 Jean: And it explains that and gives a whole lot of scripture. 00:14:16.25\00:14:18.29 So yes, Glenn, call and ask for that. 00:14:18.32\00:14:20.19 You can also dial #250 on your smartphone. 00:14:20.22\00:14:23.26 Just say "Bible Answers Live" and then ask for the book, "Can 00:14:23.29\00:14:26.16 a Man--a Saved Man Choose to Be Lost?" 00:14:26.19\00:14:28.40 and we'll give you a digital download. 00:14:28.43\00:14:30.77 You'll be able to read it right away. 00:14:30.80\00:14:32.90 All right, who do we have next? 00:14:32.93\00:14:34.24 Aron: All right, our next caller is Shannon, calling in 00:14:34.27\00:14:36.77 from Georgia. 00:14:36.81\00:14:38.14 It looks like you have a question about the book 00:14:38.17\00:14:40.34 of Hebrews. 00:14:40.38\00:14:41.68 Hi, Shannon, welcome. 00:14:41.71\00:14:43.88 Shannon: Hi, yes, I'm calling-- I've been searching to find out 00:14:43.91\00:14:49.05 who wrote the book of Hebrews and some of the writing sounds 00:14:49.08\00:14:52.69 like Paul, but I can't find anywhere where it actually says 00:14:52.72\00:14:56.76 he wrote the book of Hebrews or who wrote the book of Hebrews. 00:14:56.79\00:15:00.53 Jean: Okay, good question. 00:15:00.56\00:15:02.23 You're right, the book of Hebrews does not give 00:15:02.26\00:15:04.47 its authorship. 00:15:04.50\00:15:05.83 It almost appears as though the author was recognized by the 00:15:05.87\00:15:09.87 reader as being somebody having authority. 00:15:09.90\00:15:12.67 Also, when you read Hebrews, you understand that whoever wrote 00:15:12.71\00:15:15.38 the book was very much aware of the Jewish system, the Old 00:15:15.41\00:15:19.65 Testament, the sacrifices, the priesthood, the sanctuary, and 00:15:19.68\00:15:22.68 everything associated with that. 00:15:22.72\00:15:24.22 And of course, he brings the connection between the sacrifice 00:15:24.25\00:15:26.92 representing Jesus, the priesthood representing Jesus. 00:15:26.96\00:15:29.86 He goes into great detail, talks about the heavenly sanctuary 00:15:29.89\00:15:32.66 where Jesus ministers as a high priest. 00:15:32.69\00:15:34.60 And even though it's not clearly stated, many Bible scholars 00:15:34.63\00:15:38.07 believe that actually Paul is the one that wrote Hebrews, even 00:15:38.10\00:15:41.67 though the language might be a little different in some way. 00:15:41.70\00:15:44.34 So sounds a little different from Romans, but remember the 00:15:44.37\00:15:47.11 audience was different. 00:15:47.14\00:15:48.44 So Romans was primarily to a Gentile audience, but Hebrews 00:15:48.48\00:15:52.08 was written to a Jewish audience. 00:15:52.11\00:15:54.65 But just the depth of knowledge and understanding of the Jewish 00:15:54.68\00:15:59.65 system as well as the fact that the author was considered to be 00:15:59.69\00:16:03.39 an authority, to be an apostle, many believe that that was Paul 00:16:03.43\00:16:06.70 who wrote the book of Hebrews. 00:16:06.73\00:16:08.00 Aron: When we get to heaven, we'll know for sure. 00:16:08.03\00:16:09.36 Jean: We'll know for sure, yeah. 00:16:09.40\00:16:10.70 Aron: We'll know for sure. 00:16:10.73\00:16:12.07 All right, our next caller is Gary, calling in from Illinois. 00:16:12.10\00:16:15.47 Hello, we've got Gary here. 00:16:15.50\00:16:18.47 Welcome to the program. 00:16:18.51\00:16:19.84 Gary: Thank you. 00:16:19.87\00:16:21.18 In Revelation 16, the Euphrates River dries up, demons are 00:16:21.21\00:16:25.25 released enticing the kings of the world to meet at Armageddon. 00:16:25.28\00:16:29.12 If a nuclear war should happen, would the hail, the size of a 00:16:29.15\00:16:32.95 talent be the outcome of that war, which is mentioned at the 00:16:32.99\00:16:37.89 end of chapter 16? 00:16:37.93\00:16:40.23 Jean: Okay, well, good question. 00:16:40.26\00:16:41.66 Yes, you read about this in Revelation chapter 16, verse 12, 00:16:41.70\00:16:45.30 where it talks about the drying up of the River Euphrates. 00:16:45.33\00:16:47.64 Now, this is part of what we call the seven last plagues. 00:16:47.67\00:16:51.07 It's actually the sixth plague. 00:16:51.11\00:16:52.57 And you start reading in verse 12 through to verse 16. 00:16:52.61\00:16:55.38 So there are a series of plagues that come upon the earth just 00:16:55.41\00:16:58.61 before Jesus comes. 00:16:58.65\00:17:00.45 And when it talks about a hail falling upon the earth and a 00:17:00.48\00:17:03.22 great earthquake, which is the seventh plague, that brings you 00:17:03.25\00:17:06.32 right up till the Second Coming of Christ. 00:17:06.35\00:17:08.32 So these plagues take place before Jesus comes. 00:17:08.36\00:17:11.63 The first plague, if you read about it, it's a terrible sore 00:17:11.66\00:17:14.46 that develops upon people and then it talks about the sea 00:17:14.46\00:17:16.77 turning to blood, then the rivers turning to blood and then 00:17:16.80\00:17:19.60 the sun scorches men with intense heat and so on and 00:17:19.63\00:17:22.30 so forth. 00:17:22.34\00:17:23.64 So these are literal plagues that will come upon the earth. 00:17:23.67\00:17:25.77 It hasn't happened yet. 00:17:25.81\00:17:27.11 It happens after probation closes. 00:17:27.14\00:17:29.41 So when Michael stands up in Daniel chapter 12, Jesus says, 00:17:29.44\00:17:33.25 He that is holy, let him be holy still. 00:17:33.28\00:17:34.92 He's that filthy, let him be filthy still. 00:17:34.95\00:17:36.99 That's Revelation 22. 00:17:37.02\00:17:38.32 Probation closes. 00:17:38.35\00:17:39.99 The righteous are sealed, the wicked have the mark of the 00:17:40.02\00:17:42.82 beast, and then the seven last plagues fall. 00:17:42.86\00:17:46.06 And the drying up of the River Euphrates is an interesting 00:17:46.09\00:17:48.23 plague because it has a symbolic application. 00:17:48.26\00:17:51.10 It's not only referring to the literal River Euphrates which 00:17:51.13\00:17:53.87 very well could dry up, but if you go back in Bible history, 00:17:53.90\00:17:57.67 you have the city of Babylon. 00:17:57.71\00:17:59.94 This is during the time of the Jewish captivity, the Jews are 00:18:00.04\00:18:02.71 captive in Babylon. 00:18:02.74\00:18:04.35 And in order for the Jews to be set free to go back to 00:18:04.38\00:18:06.85 Jerusalem, you have Cyrus who is the Medo-Persian leader 00:18:06.88\00:18:12.85 or general. 00:18:12.89\00:18:14.12 And in order for them to conquer Babylon, they dried up the River 00:18:14.16\00:18:16.73 Euphrates which ran diagonally through the ancient city 00:18:16.76\00:18:19.39 of Babylon. 00:18:19.43\00:18:20.73 They diverted the waters into some marsh areas and, as the 00:18:20.76\00:18:24.20 river lowered, they were able to march their soldiers under the 00:18:24.23\00:18:27.70 massive city walls, and in one night, Babylon fell. 00:18:27.74\00:18:30.77 After the fall of Babylon, Cyrus allowed the Jews to go back and 00:18:30.81\00:18:34.61 start rebuilding the temple in Jerusalem. 00:18:34.64\00:18:36.91 So symbolically, when you see the drying up of the River 00:18:36.95\00:18:40.18 Euphrates, it represents that God's people are soon to be 00:18:40.22\00:18:43.52 delivered from symbolic Babylon and taken to the New Jerusalem. 00:18:43.55\00:18:48.06 Now, water in Bible prophecy, according to Revelation chapter 00:18:48.09\00:18:51.16 17, represents multitude in nations and kindreds 00:18:51.19\00:18:54.63 and tongues. 00:18:54.66\00:18:55.96 And so this counterfeit religious system in the last 00:18:56.00\00:18:58.03 days referred to as Babylon in Revelation 17, just before Jesus 00:18:58.07\00:19:02.87 comes, the support that people are giving to this apostate 00:19:02.90\00:19:07.01 religious system will be withdrawn because the previous 00:19:07.04\00:19:11.18 plague talks about darkness upon the seat of the beast. 00:19:11.21\00:19:13.68 So people suddenly realize, hey, we've been deceived by this 00:19:13.72\00:19:15.95 power and they withdraw their support. 00:19:15.98\00:19:18.39 That prepares the way for the Second Coming of Christ. 00:19:18.42\00:19:21.06 So this is a great study. 00:19:21.09\00:19:22.39 It's referring to something yet in the future. 00:19:22.42\00:19:24.33 And this is part of the seven last plagues that you read about 00:19:24.36\00:19:26.76 in Revelation 16. 00:19:26.80\00:19:28.10 Hopefully, that helps. 00:19:28.13\00:19:29.43 Thank you, Gary. 00:19:29.46\00:19:30.80 Aron: All right, our next caller is calling in from Canada, 00:19:30.83\00:19:33.37 up north. 00:19:33.40\00:19:34.74 Caller named Deborah. 00:19:34.77\00:19:36.40 Deborah, welcome to the show. 00:19:36.44\00:19:38.61 What is your question for us this evening? 00:19:38.64\00:19:40.88 Deborah: Hello, Pastors. 00:19:40.91\00:19:42.24 How are you? 00:19:42.28\00:19:43.58 Jean: Good, thank you. 00:19:43.61\00:19:44.95 Deborah: I have a question about Mark 14, verses 51 and 52. 00:19:44.98\00:19:49.75 I have to tell you that when I read it, I got emotional. 00:19:49.78\00:19:54.19 Other people have told me that it's, you know, Mark making a 00:19:54.22\00:19:57.06 cameo appearance and I've looked up the word "nakedness" and I've 00:19:57.09\00:20:00.86 looked up the word "linen" because of the two things that 00:20:00.90\00:20:04.40 the story tells us. 00:20:04.43\00:20:06.30 And nakedness is mentioned 104 times in the Bible, and linen 00:20:06.33\00:20:11.64 represents purity, and nakedness could be-- it could mean other 00:20:11.67\00:20:15.91 things other than shameful in the Bible, depending on where 00:20:15.94\00:20:19.55 it's used. 00:20:19.58\00:20:20.88 So, could you tell me who he was or who you think he is? 00:20:20.92\00:20:24.69 And is there a significance to this? 00:20:24.72\00:20:27.59 I don't believe it's just a filler in the Bible. 00:20:27.62\00:20:29.92 And I don't really-- because of how emotional I got, I believe 00:20:29.96\00:20:34.56 there is something to this story. 00:20:34.60\00:20:36.63 Jean: Yeah, absolutely. 00:20:36.67\00:20:38.00 Let me share what we have here. 00:20:38.03\00:20:39.33 So, yes, you find this in Mark chapter 14. 00:20:39.37\00:20:41.17 This is at the time of the arrest of Jesus. 00:20:41.20\00:20:44.11 When the religious leaders came with the Roman soldiers, they 00:20:44.14\00:20:48.21 met Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. 00:20:48.24\00:20:49.78 You'll remember how Peter pulled out his sword and chopped off 00:20:49.81\00:20:52.61 the high priest servant's ear. 00:20:52.65\00:20:54.75 Jesus healed the servant and then He allowed Himself to 00:20:54.78\00:20:58.82 be arrested. 00:20:58.85\00:21:00.26 And as He's being taken away, the disciples all began to 00:21:00.29\00:21:04.39 run away. 00:21:04.43\00:21:05.76 And apparently there was a young man who heard about what 00:21:05.79\00:21:10.20 was happening. 00:21:10.23\00:21:11.57 The reason it says he was wearing a linen, it's late 00:21:11.60\00:21:14.57 at night. 00:21:14.60\00:21:15.94 He probably just grabbed a blanket or whatever he had. 00:21:15.97\00:21:17.97 He heard about this and he came out to see what was going on and 00:21:18.01\00:21:22.04 as they arrested Jesus and took Him to Caiaphas, the high 00:21:22.08\00:21:25.45 priest, for this trial, they wanted to grab as many of His 00:21:25.48\00:21:29.08 followers as well, and it seems as though the Romans grabbed a 00:21:29.12\00:21:32.92 hold of this young man and him filled with fear just took off 00:21:32.95\00:21:36.32 running in his birthday suit, so to speak. 00:21:36.36\00:21:39.49 So people believe that the reason it's even mentioned there 00:21:39.53\00:21:42.53 is that it could very well be Mark himself. 00:21:42.56\00:21:44.63 He was a young man at the time. 00:21:44.67\00:21:46.10 Mark, of course, wrote the book. 00:21:46.13\00:21:47.47 He wasn't officially one of the disciples of Jesus, but he was 00:21:47.50\00:21:50.51 there at the time and he received an eyewitness account 00:21:50.54\00:21:55.28 that came from the apostles when he wrote the book of Mark. 00:21:55.31\00:21:58.28 So yes, we believe that was him. 00:21:58.31\00:22:00.58 The point being here is that really everybody deserted Jesus 00:22:00.62\00:22:04.55 and they ran for their lives and that was a prophecy that Jesus 00:22:04.59\00:22:07.96 had mentioned would take place. 00:22:07.99\00:22:09.32 It says, "The shepherd shall be smitten and the sheep 00:22:09.36\00:22:12.46 shall disperse." 00:22:12.49\00:22:14.00 They will run away. 00:22:14.03\00:22:15.33 And that's what happened to the disciples of Christ at 00:22:15.36\00:22:16.93 that time. 00:22:16.97\00:22:18.27 Later on, you read about John and Peter that follow Jesus at a 00:22:18.30\00:22:22.57 distance and they went into Caiaphas's high-- a high 00:22:22.60\00:22:26.81 priest's place, at least the compound, and they were there. 00:22:26.84\00:22:29.78 But it seems that this young man from all accounts, as far as we 00:22:29.81\00:22:32.81 know, it was probably Mark and he ran away along with the 00:22:32.85\00:22:35.98 other disciples. 00:22:36.02\00:22:37.35 Aron: Yeah, another point is it's significant that it's only 00:22:37.39\00:22:39.15 the Gospel of Mark that records this little incident here. 00:22:39.19\00:22:42.79 So it's not unusual, we have the Gospel of John where, you know, 00:22:42.82\00:22:46.33 it's quite clear that John wrote the Gospel of John. 00:22:46.36\00:22:48.86 John never actually fully identifies himself as the 00:22:48.90\00:22:51.93 author, right? 00:22:51.97\00:22:53.30 So Mark could have been, you know, throwing this personal 00:22:53.34\00:22:54.67 anecdote in there as well without claiming, you know, 00:22:54.70\00:22:57.31 like, "Hey, this was me, by the way and I wrote this Gospel." 00:22:57.34\00:23:00.14 Jean: Yeah, he's sort of saying, "Hey, I was there, I can verify. 00:23:00.18\00:23:02.38 I'm an eyewitness account. 00:23:02.41\00:23:03.71 This is what happened to me, but I was there when Jesus 00:23:03.75\00:23:05.55 was arrested." 00:23:05.58\00:23:06.95 Very good. 00:23:06.98\00:23:08.28 Thank you, Deborah. 00:23:08.32\00:23:09.65 Who do we have next? 00:23:09.68\00:23:10.99 Aron: All right, next we have Christopher calling in 00:23:11.02\00:23:12.35 from California. 00:23:12.39\00:23:13.69 Hi there, Christopher. 00:23:13.72\00:23:15.06 Welcome to our show. 00:23:15.09\00:23:16.39 What's your question for us this evening? 00:23:16.42\00:23:17.73 Christopher: Good evening. 00:23:17.76\00:23:19.09 My question is: When is the close of probation 00:23:19.13\00:23:20.43 for everybody? 00:23:20.46\00:23:21.76 Jean: Okay, good question. 00:23:21.80\00:23:23.03 Yes, the Bible doesn't give us the exact time when probation 00:23:23.06\00:23:25.93 will close. 00:23:25.97\00:23:27.30 There are certain things that prophecy foretells needs to take 00:23:27.34\00:23:30.51 place before probation closes. 00:23:30.54\00:23:32.34 So we know for one that probation hasn't closed yet. 00:23:32.37\00:23:35.44 For example, some of the signs that Jesus gave, He said, "This 00:23:35.48\00:23:38.78 gospel of the kingdom must be preached to all the world as a 00:23:38.81\00:23:41.02 witness unto all nations, then the end will come." 00:23:41.05\00:23:43.95 If you're still preaching the gospel that means probation is 00:23:43.99\00:23:46.45 not closed. 00:23:46.49\00:23:47.82 You can also read in Revelation chapter 18, there is a 00:23:47.86\00:23:51.03 description of a mighty angel. 00:23:51.06\00:23:52.86 We call him the fourth angel of Revelation 18, because in 00:23:52.89\00:23:55.00 chapter 14, you have three angels and now you have this 00:23:55.03\00:23:57.50 fourth angel. 00:23:57.53\00:23:58.83 It says, "The earth is illuminated with his glory and 00:23:58.87\00:24:00.70 he cries mightily with a strong voice. 00:24:00.74\00:24:03.04 'Babylon is fallen, is fallen.'" 00:24:03.07\00:24:04.64 And that's referring to a special outpouring of the Holy 00:24:04.67\00:24:07.44 Spirit and a great awakening amongst God's people in taking 00:24:07.48\00:24:11.45 the last warning message to the world. 00:24:11.48\00:24:13.88 As we saw at Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit came upon the 00:24:13.92\00:24:16.92 apostles and the gospel went forth with power, we will see a 00:24:16.95\00:24:20.36 similar thing just before probation closes. 00:24:20.39\00:24:23.46 That has not happened yet. 00:24:23.49\00:24:24.83 So we know that is still to come. 00:24:24.86\00:24:26.23 We also know that before probation closes, there is going 00:24:26.26\00:24:30.20 to be the issue of the mark of the beast. 00:24:30.23\00:24:32.17 In other words, people will be forced to make a decision. 00:24:32.20\00:24:34.50 Are they going to worship God according to the commandments, 00:24:34.54\00:24:37.27 or are they going to set aside one of God's commandments in 00:24:37.31\00:24:40.08 order to worship according to the beast power that's described 00:24:40.11\00:24:43.68 there in Revelation chapter 13? 00:24:43.71\00:24:45.55 That hasn't happened yet. 00:24:45.58\00:24:47.02 So there's a couple of things that still have to take place 00:24:47.05\00:24:49.68 and once these things have taken place and the loud cry is given, 00:24:49.72\00:24:53.15 then at some point, Jesus says it's over. 00:24:53.19\00:24:55.92 Now, Daniel chapter 12 verse 1, it says Michael stands up. 00:24:55.96\00:24:58.53 Michael is the prophetic name of Christ and there is a time of 00:24:58.56\00:25:01.76 trouble, worse than the world has ever seen. 00:25:01.80\00:25:03.80 That's when the seven last plagues will be poured out. 00:25:03.83\00:25:06.27 But at that time, Thy people shall be delivered, everyone 00:25:06.30\00:25:08.97 found written in the book. 00:25:09.00\00:25:10.34 Well, that's the Second Coming of Christ when the righteous 00:25:10.37\00:25:12.37 will be delivered. 00:25:12.41\00:25:13.71 So close of probation still in the future. 00:25:13.74\00:25:16.18 But of course, for us individually, probation can 00:25:16.21\00:25:19.48 close any time, right? 00:25:19.51\00:25:20.92 Because when a person dies, their probation is closed, their 00:25:20.95\00:25:24.02 decisions have been made. 00:25:24.05\00:25:25.35 That's why the Bible says, "Today is the day of salvation. 00:25:25.39\00:25:28.72 Do not harden your heart." 00:25:28.76\00:25:30.43 So every day we want to make that choice to surrender 00:25:30.46\00:25:33.16 to Jesus. 00:25:33.19\00:25:34.46 Thank you, Christopher. 00:25:34.50\00:25:35.83 Appreciate your call. 00:25:35.86\00:25:37.17 Aron: Amen, great, great answer. 00:25:37.20\00:25:38.43 And I love that emphasis on, you know, the Bible says, you know, 00:25:38.47\00:25:40.64 Jesus says, "I'm coming soon. 00:25:40.67\00:25:41.97 I'm coming soon." 00:25:42.00\00:25:43.41 Well, that was 2000 years ago, but we do believe He's coming 00:25:43.44\00:25:45.27 soon, but everyone's individual probation could close before the 00:25:45.31\00:25:49.94 corporate final close of probation. 00:25:49.98\00:25:52.31 All right, Lee we have calling in from Texas. 00:25:52.35\00:25:55.35 Welcome, Lee, to the show. 00:25:55.38\00:25:57.65 What is your question for us this evening? 00:25:57.69\00:25:59.95 Lee: Yes, my question is: Why is Greek mythology closely linked 00:26:00.06\00:26:04.53 to the Bible? 00:26:04.56\00:26:05.86 Jean: Well, when you talk about Greek mythology closely linked 00:26:05.89\00:26:08.36 to the Bible, all pagan religions have certain kernels 00:26:08.40\00:26:12.37 of truth because in reality, paganism is really the religion 00:26:12.40\00:26:16.54 inspired by the devil himself. 00:26:16.57\00:26:18.47 And yes, there is a controversy between good and evil. 00:26:18.51\00:26:21.21 Sometimes you'll read about a fall; even in certain pagan 00:26:21.24\00:26:24.45 mythologies, you even have a tree. 00:26:24.48\00:26:27.15 Of course, it's all twisted. 00:26:27.18\00:26:29.02 The serpent or the dragon also has significance in paganism. 00:26:29.05\00:26:32.45 Of course, you read about the serpent in Genesis. 00:26:32.49\00:26:34.69 So, yes, there are some connections because, you know, 00:26:34.72\00:26:37.26 paganism was inspired by the devil. 00:26:37.29\00:26:39.19 Greek mythology for the most part was built upon these pagan 00:26:39.23\00:26:43.30 religious teachings that are false. 00:26:43.33\00:26:46.70 Although, you know, a lot of Greek mythology is just made up 00:26:46.74\00:26:50.64 as well. 00:26:50.67\00:26:52.01 It's not the truth. 00:26:52.04\00:26:53.34 The Bible has the final word. 00:26:53.38\00:26:54.71 The Bible is the truth. 00:26:54.74\00:26:56.04 But there are some interesting things even in some remote 00:26:56.08\00:26:58.75 tribal groups, they talk about a flood that you read about in 00:26:58.78\00:27:01.52 Genesis, different ideas of it. 00:27:01.55\00:27:03.42 But you get kernels of truth scattered. 00:27:03.45\00:27:06.39 Well, friends, we're going to take a short break and then 00:27:06.42\00:27:08.39 we'll be back with more of your Bible questions. 00:27:08.42\00:27:10.93 So stand by, we'll be back in just a moment. just have a question. 00:30:52.75\00:30:54.08 It's a simple one for you tonight. 00:30:54.12\00:30:55.42 What were Jesus's last words? 00:30:55.45\00:30:57.25 Was it Luke 23:46, Psalms 22:1, or John 19:30? 00:30:57.29\00:31:04.09 I think it's Luke 23:46 but it's conflicting. 00:31:04.13\00:31:09.13 Jean: Okay, yes, I think you're right. 00:31:09.16\00:31:11.30 I mean, there's a number of words that Jesus spoke and not 00:31:11.33\00:31:15.07 all of the Gospels record all of His words, but if you take the 00:31:15.10\00:31:19.47 different statements of Christ from all of the Gospels, you 00:31:19.51\00:31:23.58 come up with with what the total is. 00:31:23.61\00:31:25.91 Luke 23:46 says: "And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, 00:31:25.95\00:31:29.95 He said, 'Father into Your hands, I commit My Spirit.' 00:31:29.98\00:31:32.65 Having said this, He breathed His last." 00:31:32.69\00:31:35.52 So yes, from the verse, it appears pretty clear that this 00:31:35.56\00:31:39.56 was the last thing that Jesus said. 00:31:39.59\00:31:42.23 Incidentally, it's actually a quote, a quote from Psalms 31, 00:31:42.26\00:31:46.67 verse 5, that Jesus was quoting. 00:31:46.70\00:31:49.37 A number of the statements Jesus made from the cross were 00:31:49.40\00:31:52.24 actually quotes from the Old Testament, much from the book 00:31:52.27\00:31:56.31 of Psalms. 00:31:56.34\00:31:57.65 Part of that is that Jesus wanted to direct those who were 00:31:57.68\00:32:00.55 at the cross to go back and to read these passages of scripture 00:32:00.58\00:32:04.62 to help validate that He was indeed the Messiah, the 00:32:04.65\00:32:07.89 fulfillment of these various prophecies that you find in the 00:32:07.92\00:32:10.96 Old Testament. 00:32:10.99\00:32:12.33 So, yes, Luke chapter 23:46 seems to be the final words that 00:32:12.36\00:32:17.23 Jesus spoke when He said, "Into Thy hands I commit My Spirit" 00:32:17.27\00:32:20.14 and then He died. 00:32:20.17\00:32:21.47 All right, thank you, Terrence. 00:32:21.50\00:32:22.84 Who do we have next? 00:32:22.87\00:32:24.17 Aron: All right, we've got Esther calling 00:32:24.21\00:32:25.51 in from California with a question about animals. 00:32:25.54\00:32:28.84 Hello, Esther. 00:32:28.88\00:32:30.18 Esther: Hello, Pastor. 00:32:30.21\00:32:31.55 I recently saw a documentary about beavers and bees and how 00:32:31.58\00:32:37.22 they keep the Sabbath. 00:32:37.25\00:32:39.12 I was just wondering, do animals praise God? 00:32:39.15\00:32:42.52 Jean: Okay, well, indirectly. 00:32:42.56\00:32:45.43 You know, they don't consciously say, "All right, we're going to 00:32:45.46\00:32:47.40 worship God," or praise God. 00:32:47.46\00:32:49.66 But when you look at the marvels of creation and you look at what 00:32:49.70\00:32:54.00 animals do and you look at how they are made, you can see 00:32:54.04\00:32:58.27 evidence of a Creator. 00:32:58.31\00:33:00.54 You can see the handiwork of God in the things that He has made. 00:33:00.58\00:33:04.65 And so when you look at a hummingbird and you see its 00:33:04.68\00:33:07.12 beautiful colors and you see how that it can drink nectar from a 00:33:07.15\00:33:11.32 flower while it's flying and yet it has such endurance to fly 00:33:11.35\00:33:14.62 long distances. 00:33:14.66\00:33:15.96 That's all evidence that there is a Creator God. 00:33:15.99\00:33:18.66 So in them just doing what they were made to do, they're in 00:33:18.69\00:33:21.60 essence praising God. 00:33:21.63\00:33:23.13 They're revealing the glories of God. 00:33:23.16\00:33:25.83 Not that they purposely gather together. 00:33:25.87\00:33:28.07 In other words, when a bird sings, he sings because he's a 00:33:28.10\00:33:30.81 bird, but he's doing what God made him to do. 00:33:30.84\00:33:34.04 And that in a sense is praising God. 00:33:34.08\00:33:36.41 So yeah, very good observation. 00:33:36.44\00:33:38.25 Aron: Yeah, just a couple of verses along those lines. 00:33:38.28\00:33:41.02 We have Psalm 148. 00:33:41.05\00:33:42.95 Read a couple of verses here, starting in verse 1, which says: 00:33:42.98\00:33:45.49 "Praise the Lord! 00:33:45.52\00:33:46.82 Praise the Lord from the heavens; praise Him in 00:33:46.86\00:33:48.22 the heights! 00:33:48.26\00:33:49.56 Praise Him, all the angels; praise Him, all the hosts! 00:33:49.59\00:33:50.93 Praise Him, sun and moon; praise Him, all you stars of light! 00:33:50.96\00:33:55.00 Praise Him, you heavens of heavens, and you waters above 00:33:55.03\00:33:58.27 the heavens! 00:33:58.30\00:33:59.60 Let them praise the name of the Lord." 00:33:59.63\00:34:01.04 So here we have intangible things, the light, the sun, the 00:34:01.07\00:34:05.74 moon, the stars, who the Psalmist says, "Praise 00:34:05.77\00:34:08.18 Him," right? 00:34:08.21\00:34:09.51 And I love what you said there, Jean, that when something is 00:34:09.54\00:34:12.68 created by God, an animal, a sun, a moon, and they're simply 00:34:12.71\00:34:16.48 doing what they were created to do, in that sense they're really 00:34:16.52\00:34:21.16 giving praise to God. 00:34:21.19\00:34:22.49 And so we--we have a-- we're made in the image of God and we 00:34:22.52\00:34:26.36 have you could say a higher degree of consciousness and when 00:34:26.39\00:34:29.76 we intentionally and purposely do what God created us to do 00:34:29.80\00:34:34.57 that is what matters the most for us, so--. 00:34:34.60\00:34:37.27 Jean: And we're praising God in that sense. 00:34:37.31\00:34:39.11 Aron: Amen, amen, amen. 00:34:39.14\00:34:40.44 All right, our next caller who is a first-time caller, calling 00:34:40.48\00:34:44.81 in from Virginia, Keliah. 00:34:44.85\00:34:47.72 Thank you so much for calling in, and your question for us 00:34:47.75\00:34:51.02 this evening is? 00:34:51.05\00:34:53.22 Keliah: Yes, I was calling to find out does the devil worship 00:34:53.25\00:34:57.66 on Sabbath, because I have a definition from the dictionary 00:34:57.69\00:35:04.87 that says the Sabbath is a meeting of witches. 00:35:04.90\00:35:08.77 Jean: Okay, well, you know, whatever that definition is, 00:35:08.80\00:35:11.91 from the dictionary, is wrong. 00:35:11.94\00:35:13.61 The Sabbath was created by God. 00:35:13.64\00:35:15.28 It's a memorial of His creative work. 00:35:15.31\00:35:17.41 It is a day of worship. 00:35:17.45\00:35:18.88 The righteous worship on the day God set aside because that's 00:35:18.91\00:35:22.55 what He asked us to do. 00:35:22.58\00:35:23.92 God's people throughout time have recognized Him as the 00:35:23.95\00:35:26.12 Creator and have remembered the Sabbath to keep it holy. 00:35:26.15\00:35:28.69 The devil does not worship God. 00:35:28.72\00:35:30.53 He hates God and he hates anything that connects people to 00:35:30.56\00:35:34.56 God, and the Sabbath would be one of those things. 00:35:34.56\00:35:37.07 So the devil is doing his very best to cause people to ignore 00:35:37.10\00:35:40.84 or forget this wonderful truth because, you know, Jesus wants 00:35:40.87\00:35:44.47 to spend time with us. 00:35:44.51\00:35:45.81 Christ is the Creator God. 00:35:45.84\00:35:47.18 He's made us and He set aside a day where we can actually enter 00:35:47.21\00:35:50.51 into His presence in a special way. 00:35:50.55\00:35:52.31 It doesn't mean we can't worship Him throughout the week. 00:35:52.35\00:35:54.62 But this is a time that He has set aside for us to gather to 00:35:54.65\00:35:58.85 worship, and He wants to bless us with His presence in a 00:35:58.89\00:36:02.16 special way on the seventh day. 00:36:02.19\00:36:03.86 And always reminding us that He's the one that made us. 00:36:03.89\00:36:06.70 We didn't make ourselves. 00:36:06.73\00:36:08.00 So the devil hates the Sabbath. 00:36:08.03\00:36:09.36 He hates worship. 00:36:09.40\00:36:11.07 And yeah, the Sabbath is a good thing, according to the Bible. 00:36:11.10\00:36:15.04 We do have a study guide that talks about the Sabbath and you 00:36:15.07\00:36:18.17 might enjoy reading it. 00:37:05.52\00:37:06.82 All right, who do we have next? 00:37:06.86\00:37:08.19 Aron: All right, thank you. 00:37:08.22\00:37:09.52 Our next caller, calling in from New York, has a great name, 00:37:09.56\00:37:12.03 Eron, which is my name. 00:37:12.06\00:37:14.46 Eron, welcome to the program. 00:37:14.46\00:37:16.00 Looks like you have a question about Proverbs chapter 3, eh? 00:37:16.03\00:37:18.90 Eron: I do, Aron. 00:37:18.93\00:37:20.27 Jean: Thanks for calling, and your question tonight? 00:37:20.30\00:37:22.87 Eron: My question is: What is the meaning of that verse, 00:37:22.90\00:37:25.07 especially the word "acknowledge"? 00:37:25.11\00:37:27.71 Jean: Okay, let me read it. 00:37:27.74\00:37:29.08 Proverbs chapter 3, verse 6. It says: "In all of your ways 00:37:29.11\00:37:31.58 acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." 00:37:31.61\00:37:34.85 So the word there, "acknowledge," means to inquire 00:37:34.88\00:37:38.69 and submit to His plans and purposes. 00:37:38.72\00:37:42.56 In other words, if you want God to direct your ways, you need to 00:37:42.59\00:37:47.56 be willing to go in the way that He leads. 00:37:47.60\00:37:50.50 You can't say, "All right, Lord, I'm going to do my own thing and 00:37:50.53\00:37:52.80 I hope this is part of Your plan." 00:37:52.83\00:37:54.44 No, if you really want God to bless, then you need to say, 00:37:54.47\00:37:56.77 "Lord, what is Your plan?" 00:37:56.81\00:37:58.37 And that's what it means when it says, "Acknowledge Him." 00:37:58.41\00:38:00.41 In other words, seek His will. 00:38:00.44\00:38:02.21 Say, "Lord, what do You want me to do?" 00:38:02.24\00:38:04.18 We want to search the scriptures, make sure that what 00:38:04.21\00:38:06.85 we are wanting to do is in harmony with the principles 00:38:06.88\00:38:09.12 given in the Bible. 00:38:09.15\00:38:10.39 Sometimes we might need to seek some godly counsel from others. 00:38:10.42\00:38:14.26 But at the end of the day, if we know this is in harmony with the 00:38:14.29\00:38:17.59 will of God, and we say, "Lord, if it's Your will, then through 00:38:17.63\00:38:21.03 providence, open up the doors. 00:38:21.06\00:38:22.70 Close doors if You don't want me to go a certain way." 00:38:22.73\00:38:25.50 We can trust that God is going to lead us. 00:38:25.53\00:38:28.24 So to acknowledge Him is to seek His will and then follow it, and 00:38:28.27\00:38:32.87 not doing your own thing, but saying, 00:38:32.91\00:38:34.71 "Lord, Your will be done." 00:38:34.74\00:38:36.88 So that's the key. 00:38:36.91\00:38:38.41 Aron: That's right. 00:38:38.45\00:38:39.78 Great question though, very, very practical. 00:38:39.81\00:38:41.55 Jean: Oh, you know what, I just remembered a book. 00:38:41.58\00:38:43.45 Pastor Doug wrote a book called, "Determining the Will of God," 00:38:43.49\00:38:45.89 and it's free. 00:38:45.92\00:38:47.89 We'll send it to anyone who calls and asks. 00:38:47.92\00:38:49.22 The number is 800-835-6747. 00:38:49.26\00:38:52.03 It deals with this very verse. 00:38:52.06\00:38:54.13 Call and ask. 00:38:54.20\00:38:55.53 It's called, "Determining the Will of God." 00:38:55.56\00:38:56.97 All right, thanks, Eron. 00:38:57.00\00:38:58.33 Who do we have next? 00:38:58.37\00:38:59.60 Aron: All right, another caller in from New York and it's Phil. 00:38:59.63\00:39:02.07 Phil, you have an interesting question for us this evening. 00:39:02.10\00:39:05.01 What is it? 00:39:05.04\00:39:06.37 Phil: I hope I do. 00:39:06.41\00:39:07.71 Thank you very much. 00:39:07.74\00:39:09.08 I'll just take a second to say your explanation about the 00:39:09.11\00:39:11.18 Euphrates was really superb because it ties together 00:39:11.21\00:39:15.12 religious and secular history. 00:39:15.15\00:39:17.59 It was excellent. 00:39:17.62\00:39:19.22 Jean: Amen, well, thank you. 00:39:19.25\00:39:20.59 Phil: My question is: Do you believe that the woke culture 00:39:20.62\00:39:25.89 and Marxist globalist ideology are somehow connected to the one 00:39:25.93\00:39:31.57 world system of the Antichrist? 00:39:31.60\00:39:34.70 Jean: Okay, well, good question. 00:39:34.74\00:39:36.87 Well, in 1798 you had the French Revolution, which really was the 00:39:36.91\00:39:41.21 beginning of a nation claiming atheism. 00:39:41.24\00:39:44.95 And of course, Marxism or Marx, Karl Marx, and what he wrote, 00:39:44.98\00:39:48.82 which kind of came out of that French Revolution, influenced 00:39:48.85\00:39:52.45 communism, atheism, evolution, and many other ISMs, 00:39:52.49\00:39:57.16 materialism, and so on and so forth. 00:39:57.19\00:39:59.73 Sort of was the catalyst for that. 00:39:59.76\00:40:02.56 What is interesting is that there are two extremes and, of 00:40:02.60\00:40:06.77 course, we can see this in our world today. 00:40:06.80\00:40:08.54 On the one hand, you would have what we maybe consider the 00:40:08.57\00:40:12.01 Liberal or the left side of things. 00:40:12.04\00:40:14.84 On the other, you'd have the Conservatives and maybe consider 00:40:14.88\00:40:17.05 that the right side, if you're dealing with politics. 00:40:17.08\00:40:19.85 But what the Bible does tell us and these two powers, these two 00:40:19.88\00:40:23.18 philosophies, seem to be, you know, at odds with each other 00:40:23.22\00:40:26.76 and they are. 00:40:26.79\00:40:28.09 But what the Bible tells us that at the end of time, the 00:40:28.12\00:40:31.83 Antichrist's power is going to be able to pull both 00:40:31.86\00:40:35.03 groups together. 00:40:35.06\00:40:36.43 He's going to unite them for a particular cause which is going 00:40:36.46\00:40:41.20 to lead to the enforcing of the mark of the beast. 00:40:41.24\00:40:43.64 Now, we don't have time to get into the exact details. 00:40:43.67\00:40:45.31 We do have a study guide that actually talks about the mark of 00:40:45.34\00:40:47.58 the beast. 00:40:47.61\00:40:48.91 But it is interesting how that you're going to have on the one 00:40:48.94\00:40:51.61 hand, those who are very pro, you might say, environmental 00:40:51.65\00:40:56.02 movements and social justice causes, uniting with those who 00:40:56.05\00:41:00.36 are directly opposite, on the religious side of things, who 00:41:00.39\00:41:04.63 believe that because of immorality, because of what the 00:41:04.66\00:41:08.46 culture is doing, the United States will be doomed unless 00:41:08.50\00:41:11.20 America gets back to God, and you have the Antichrist power 00:41:11.23\00:41:15.00 reaching sort of middle ground and pulling both 00:41:15.04\00:41:17.94 groups together. 00:41:17.97\00:41:19.27 And what is interesting about this, it's going to revolve 00:41:19.31\00:41:21.78 around a particular day. 00:41:21.81\00:41:24.85 Now, without me saying too much, get the study guide and read it, 00:41:24.88\00:41:28.12 dealing with the Antichrist's power and the mark of the beast, 00:41:28.15\00:41:31.49 but it's interesting that in the environmental movement, that 00:41:31.52\00:41:34.39 people are talking about the earth needing a day of rest, 00:41:34.42\00:41:37.83 once a week. 00:41:37.86\00:41:39.19 And on the religious side of things, you've got the religious 00:41:39.23\00:41:42.53 world saying we need to get back to God. 00:41:42.56\00:41:44.43 We need to start enforcing Sunday as a day of rest 00:41:44.47\00:41:47.90 and worship. 00:41:47.94\00:41:49.27 And it's interesting how these two ideas will eventually merge 00:41:49.30\00:41:51.84 together, being guided by the Antichrist's power in the last 00:41:51.87\00:41:55.28 days to enforce the mark of the beast. 00:41:55.31\00:41:58.11 So yes, it does. 00:41:58.15\00:41:59.68 What we see happening in politics today and around the 00:41:59.71\00:42:02.05 world, is that connected with the fulfillment of prophecy? 00:42:02.08\00:42:05.22 Absolutely. 00:42:05.25\00:42:06.59 These are signs of the times and we're living in some very 00:42:06.62\00:42:09.76 exciting times. 00:42:09.79\00:42:11.13 Aron: Yeah, and I'll just add briefly, there may be powers in 00:42:11.16\00:42:13.43 the world that seem to be totally opposite, yet both are 00:42:13.46\00:42:18.43 against or somehow contrary to the Bible and to God, and Satan 00:42:18.47\00:42:23.91 will take advantage of that. 00:42:23.94\00:42:25.31 It was, after all, the Sadducees on the left side and the 00:42:25.34\00:42:28.71 Pharisees on the right side that came together, right, along with 00:42:28.74\00:42:32.68 the state that crucified Jesus, right? 00:42:32.71\00:42:35.52 So Satan finds his friends everywhere, right? 00:42:35.55\00:42:39.82 And when it comes to attacking God's people, all the powers of 00:42:39.85\00:42:43.56 the world ultimately are going to team up together against 00:42:43.59\00:42:46.80 the righteous. 00:42:46.83\00:42:48.13 Jean: That's a good point. 00:42:48.16\00:42:49.46 You know, ultimately, we need to trust in the Bible. 00:42:49.50\00:42:50.83 We can't trust in what's happening in politics. 00:42:50.87\00:42:53.23 We can't trust in different organizations. 00:42:53.27\00:42:55.87 We've got to trust the board* of God. 00:42:55.90\00:42:57.24 That's going to be our safety in the last days. 00:42:57.27\00:42:59.24 Phil, great question. 00:42:59.27\00:43:00.64 Thanks for calling. 00:43:00.68\00:43:02.01 You might want to get that study guide called, "The Antichrist." 00:43:02.04\00:43:04.35 There's actually two: "The Mark of the Beast" 00:43:04.38\00:43:06.61 and "The Antichrist." 00:43:06.65\00:43:07.95 For anyone wanting to learn more about this very important 00:43:07.98\00:43:09.68 prophetic subject, call 800-835-6747. 00:43:09.72\00:43:14.06 Ask for those two study guides. 00:43:14.09\00:43:16.32 You'll be amazed when you read what the Bible says, who these 00:43:16.36\00:43:20.56 powers are in the last days. 00:43:20.60\00:43:22.10 Okay, who do we have next? 00:43:22.13\00:43:23.47 Aron: All right, next, we have Alexander calling in from New 00:43:23.50\00:43:26.40 York and it looks like you're a first-time caller, Alexander. 00:43:26.43\00:43:30.14 We're so excited to have you here. 00:43:30.17\00:43:31.94 Welcome to the program. 00:43:31.97\00:43:33.34 What is your question for us this evening? 00:43:33.38\00:43:35.38 Alexander: Good evening, and God bless you guys always. 00:43:35.41\00:43:38.01 Jean: Yeah, thanks. 00:43:38.05\00:43:40.02 Alexander: My question is, 'cause we're studying the great 00:43:40.05\00:43:44.62 controversy and I wanted to know if the devil had a chance to 00:43:44.65\00:43:51.83 visit all the world with his lies or was it only earth that 00:43:51.86\00:43:56.56 he got to deceive? 00:43:56.60\00:43:58.10 Jean: Okay, very good. 00:43:58.13\00:43:59.43 Well, it appears as though he did at some point. 00:43:59.47\00:44:02.50 And here's why. 00:44:02.54\00:44:03.84 In Job, you read the book of Job, it begins by talking about 00:44:03.87\00:44:06.61 a day when the sons of God came to present themselves 00:44:06.64\00:44:09.14 before God. 00:44:09.18\00:44:10.55 Now we know that these sons of God are not human beings, they 00:44:10.58\00:44:14.62 are representatives of other unfallen worlds. 00:44:14.65\00:44:17.95 The Bible in Hebrews talks about God who made the world, uses the 00:44:17.99\00:44:20.79 plural, and they are the representatives of these worlds. 00:44:20.82\00:44:24.19 And Satan shows up at this meeting and he comes 00:44:24.23\00:44:28.03 representing earth. 00:44:28.06\00:44:29.40 You see, that's why God says, "Where did you come from?" 00:44:29.43\00:44:31.13 He said, "Oh, from walking up and down on the earth," meaning 00:44:31.17\00:44:33.40 my kingdom, so the devil claims this earth is his. 00:44:33.44\00:44:36.60 So the fact that there is this meeting taking place, we would 00:44:36.64\00:44:40.38 understand that the other representatives of the other 00:44:40.41\00:44:43.24 worlds, they were aware of this rebellion. 00:44:43.28\00:44:46.31 You read in Revelation chapter 12, talks about war in heaven, 00:44:46.35\00:44:49.95 Michael and his angels fought against the dragon and his 00:44:49.98\00:44:52.19 angels, and the dragon lost and he was cast out of heaven, 00:44:52.22\00:44:55.96 probably the devil and the angels that joined his rebellion 00:44:55.99\00:45:00.16 kind of wandered through space, you might say, looking for a 00:45:00.20\00:45:02.60 place that they could claim as a capital. 00:45:02.63\00:45:05.57 They probably tempted or tried to tempt these other worlds, but 00:45:05.60\00:45:08.50 they weren't successful. 00:45:08.54\00:45:09.84 Right around that time, God then starts creating again and he 00:45:09.87\00:45:13.11 creates earth. 00:45:13.14\00:45:14.48 And the devil says, "Ah, here's my chance, man and woman created 00:45:14.51\00:45:18.21 in the image of God. 00:45:18.25\00:45:19.55 Let me see if I can deceive them." 00:45:19.58\00:45:20.92 And, of course, he comes and you know what happened 00:45:20.95\00:45:22.25 in the Garden of Eden. 00:45:22.28\00:45:23.95 So yes, the other created beings, the angels, the unfallen 00:45:23.99\00:45:26.92 world, so they're aware of this rebellion that took place. 00:45:26.96\00:45:31.03 Aron: Yeah, and I want to add one more verse there that goes 00:45:31.06\00:45:33.36 right along with what you're saying. 00:45:33.40\00:45:34.66 In Revelation 12, verse 12, it seems and the context is, is 00:45:34.73\00:45:38.67 Jesus's crucifixion and the devil being cast out in some 00:45:38.70\00:45:42.44 secondary sense, right? 00:45:42.47\00:45:44.07 It says, "Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell 00:45:44.11\00:45:47.48 in them!" 00:45:47.51\00:45:48.81 Okay, so there's this party in heaven and those who dwell there 00:45:48.84\00:45:51.41 and probably not just heaven heaven, but like, the heavens, 00:45:51.45\00:45:56.12 And it says, "Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and 00:45:56.15\00:45:58.19 the sea! 00:45:58.22\00:45:59.52 For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because 00:45:59.55\00:46:01.82 he knows that he has a short time." 00:46:01.86\00:46:04.06 So there it seems, right, that the devil after the cross in 00:46:04.09\00:46:08.00 some significant way, is sort of trapped to the earth, right? 00:46:08.03\00:46:12.00 Alluding to, before this point, he had some kind of access as we 00:46:12.03\00:46:17.01 see in the book of Job to heavens, heavenly intelligences, 00:46:17.04\00:46:20.74 other unfallen beings perhaps, to, yes, attempt to spread 00:46:20.78\00:46:25.38 his lies. 00:46:25.41\00:46:26.75 But of course, we're thankful that-- we're not thankful that 00:46:26.78\00:46:29.85 humans rebelled, but we're thankful that we are the only 00:46:29.88\00:46:31.85 planet that has rebelled and that God is working through the 00:46:31.89\00:46:34.79 plan to--. 00:46:34.82\00:46:36.12 Jean: Sort of in quarantine here on planet Earth, right? 00:46:36.16\00:46:38.43 Waiting for the restoration of all things. 00:46:38.46\00:46:40.96 All right, thank you. 00:46:41.00\00:46:42.30 Who do we have next? 00:46:42.33\00:46:43.67 Aron: All right, next, we have Jeanette calling in from 00:46:43.70\00:46:45.00 Michigan and I pastored in Michigan for almost 7 years. 00:46:45.03\00:46:48.37 So, a warm place in my heart has-- is Michigan. 00:46:48.40\00:46:51.84 So Jeanette, welcome to the program for the first time. 00:46:51.87\00:46:54.91 What's your question for us? 00:46:54.94\00:46:56.24 Jeanette: Good evening. 00:46:56.28\00:46:57.61 Aron: Good evening. 00:46:57.65\00:46:58.95 Jeanette: Good evening. 00:46:58.98\00:47:00.38 My question is in Judges chapter 19. 00:47:00.42\00:47:03.35 What happens with the Levite's concubine is really bothersome 00:47:03.39\00:47:07.36 even when she returns home in verse 29. 00:47:07.39\00:47:10.59 But my question is why do they offer their own family such as 00:47:10.63\00:47:15.96 their daughters and concubines to evil men instead of 00:47:16.00\00:47:18.97 their visitors? 00:47:19.00\00:47:20.30 Lot did the same, but he had angels. 00:47:20.34\00:47:22.40 I could understand that. 00:47:22.44\00:47:23.77 This was just, you know, random visitors, it seems. 00:47:23.81\00:47:26.71 But, you know, he offered them his daughter and concubine for 00:47:26.74\00:47:31.05 that horrible thing. 00:47:31.08\00:47:33.21 Jean: Absolutely, well, that's, you know, that's a 00:47:33.25\00:47:35.62 good question. 00:47:35.65\00:47:36.99 I-- of course, to us today, it would be terrible. 00:47:37.02\00:47:39.42 I mean, the last thing, a father would want to do is allow 00:47:39.45\00:47:43.63 anything bad to happen to his family. 00:47:43.66\00:47:45.89 You'd think he'd be the first one to step out there 00:47:45.93\00:47:47.93 in defense. 00:47:47.96\00:47:49.23 The culture was a little different back in Bible times in 00:47:49.26\00:47:51.93 that if you brought a stranger into your house, it was your 00:47:51.97\00:47:57.54 responsibility to take care of him and they took that 00:47:57.57\00:48:00.44 very serious. 00:48:00.48\00:48:02.21 So in the case, for example, of Lot, and in the case of the 00:48:02.24\00:48:06.45 story that you read about about the Levite's concubine, the 00:48:06.48\00:48:09.48 owner of the house, you know, went out and said to these 00:48:09.52\00:48:11.82 wicked men, "Please do not do this thing." 00:48:11.85\00:48:13.52 Now, of course, they wanted-- they wanted the man in 00:48:13.56\00:48:15.99 both cases. 00:48:16.02\00:48:17.49 Says they wanted to know him carnally, and perhaps the 00:48:17.53\00:48:20.13 thinking would be, as well, you know, if they send a woman maybe 00:48:20.16\00:48:24.27 they wouldn't be that mean. 00:48:24.30\00:48:25.73 But, apparently, yeah, they were wicked, on both accounts. 00:48:25.77\00:48:30.21 It's a terrible story. 00:48:30.24\00:48:31.54 You wonder why is it even in the Bible? 00:48:31.57\00:48:33.58 Well, the reason it's in the Bible is because this led to 00:48:33.61\00:48:36.34 civil war in Israel and the tribe of Benjamin was almost 00:48:36.38\00:48:40.88 wiped out and it was terribly painful for the nation. 00:48:40.92\00:48:44.82 But that was because of this wickedness that was done here in 00:48:44.85\00:48:49.22 the story in chapter 19. 00:48:49.26\00:48:50.56 So that's why it's even referenced here in the 00:48:50.59\00:48:52.73 scriptures because of the terrible things that happened. 00:48:52.76\00:48:55.46 So, yeah, it might be a little different for us today. 00:48:55.50\00:48:57.57 We might struggle to try and understand it. 00:48:57.60\00:48:59.90 But it was-- it was the most important thing back in Bible 00:48:59.93\00:49:03.41 times that you were to take care of the visitor that came under 00:49:03.44\00:49:06.68 your roof at any cost. 00:49:06.71\00:49:09.78 And that's probably what helped motivate those decisions. 00:49:09.81\00:49:13.35 Well, they're not good decisions. 00:49:13.38\00:49:14.68 You know, the Bible gives us both good and bad. 00:49:14.72\00:49:16.65 And that was a bad thing that they did. 00:49:16.69\00:49:19.22 Aron: Yeah, and then just one more principle to keep in mind 00:49:19.25\00:49:21.69 when you're reading difficult stories, in particular in the 00:49:21.72\00:49:25.09 book of Judges, there's actually two verses that sort of set the 00:49:25.13\00:49:29.23 whole theme of the book of Judges. 00:49:29.26\00:49:30.87 And it's Judges chapter 17, verse 6, and Judges chapter 21, 00:49:30.90\00:49:34.77 verse 25, which is the very last verse of the whole book 00:49:34.80\00:49:38.04 of Judges. 00:49:38.07\00:49:39.31 And it says this: "In those days there was no king in Israel; and 00:49:39.34\00:49:43.08 everyone did what was right in his own eyes." 00:49:43.11\00:49:48.08 Showing basically, that, hey, there's a lot of messed up stuff 00:49:48.12\00:49:52.05 happening here because instead of, as a caller earlier referred 00:49:52.09\00:49:55.76 to, Proverbs 3, verses 5 and 6, instead of trusting in God to 00:49:55.79\00:50:00.80 direct your paths, they were trusting in their own 00:50:00.83\00:50:02.96 knowledge, right? 00:50:03.00\00:50:04.33 And so these are the consequences. 00:50:04.37\00:50:05.67 This is the kind of gross, messed-up stuff that we see when 00:50:05.70\00:50:08.60 people do things in their own eyes and God is working with 00:50:08.64\00:50:12.21 sinful humans, even Israelites that claimed to serve Him at 00:50:12.24\00:50:16.14 that time. 00:50:16.18\00:50:17.51 And even today can go astray in different ways when they lose 00:50:17.55\00:50:20.25 sight of God's principles and His direction. 00:50:20.28\00:50:23.42 Jean: That's a very good-- and, of course, if you reject the law 00:50:23.45\00:50:25.45 of God, you reject the counsel of God, you're probably going to 00:50:25.49\00:50:27.86 get your counsel from the pagan nations around you. 00:50:27.89\00:50:30.29 And this was common in the nations around Israel. 00:50:30.33\00:50:33.36 So they just adopted these pagan traditions. 00:50:33.40\00:50:35.73 Aron: Yeah, that strong culture and then bringing in some of 00:50:35.76\00:50:38.70 those surrounding nations. 00:50:38.73\00:50:40.07 Jean: Very good. 00:50:40.10\00:50:41.40 All right, well, thank you. 00:50:41.44\00:50:42.77 Aron: Okay, our next caller is calling in from Day's 00:50:42.80\00:50:45.34 Creek, Oregon. 00:50:45.37\00:50:46.71 We have Chris here joining the program with us. 00:50:46.74\00:50:49.74 Hello there, Chris, what is your question for us this evening? 00:50:49.78\00:50:53.95 Chris: Hi there. 00:50:53.98\00:50:55.32 Thank you for taking my call. 00:50:55.35\00:50:56.65 Was Satan tricked into crucifying Jesus? 00:50:56.69\00:51:00.49 And this is a claim that's emerged from the popular 00:51:00.52\00:51:05.99 movement with the Genesis 6 confusion. 00:51:06.03\00:51:09.80 And so I'm just curious. 00:51:09.83\00:51:11.67 I think they base it off the healing of the demoniacs and the 00:51:11.70\00:51:15.47 demons seem kind of clueless to Jesus's purpose, His ministry. 00:51:15.50\00:51:20.61 Thank you. 00:51:20.64\00:51:21.94 Jean: Well, I-- you know, we don't know the mind of Satan, 00:51:21.98\00:51:23.78 but obviously, we understand that he is so bent on evil that 00:51:23.81\00:51:28.92 he can't even control himself. 00:51:28.95\00:51:30.59 I mean, he can read the Bible, he knows Bible prophecy better 00:51:30.62\00:51:33.89 than we have and yet he still continues down the path 00:51:33.92\00:51:36.79 of wickedness. 00:51:36.83\00:51:38.16 He knows what his final end is going to be. 00:51:38.19\00:51:40.10 But it's as if he's past the point of rational thinking. 00:51:40.13\00:51:45.27 He hated Jesus. 00:51:45.30\00:51:46.63 Of course, he first tried to tempt Jesus into worshiping him. 00:51:46.67\00:51:49.97 And when that failed, he did everything he can to try and 00:51:50.01\00:51:52.51 hinder the work of Christ. 00:51:52.54\00:51:54.01 He inspired, you know, Judas Iscariot, he inspired the 00:51:54.04\00:51:57.41 religious leaders and the Romans to eventually crucify Jesus, but 00:51:57.45\00:52:01.85 it almost seems that after Christ submitted to that, it's 00:52:01.88\00:52:06.39 as if the devil wanted Jesus to come down off the cross because 00:52:06.42\00:52:09.52 I think he realized that if Christ went through with the 00:52:09.56\00:52:11.56 sacrifice, you know, salvation, finally he would be overthrown. 00:52:11.59\00:52:16.40 So it almost seems that he wanted Jesus to exercise His 00:52:16.43\00:52:19.63 divine power and come down off the cross. 00:52:19.67\00:52:21.47 That was a real temptation to Christ. 00:52:21.50\00:52:23.57 That's why Jesus said, "If it's possible, let this cup pass from 00:52:23.61\00:52:26.64 Me, not My will, but Thy will be done." 00:52:26.68\00:52:29.68 So, yeah, was the devil tricked into crucifying Jesus? 00:52:29.71\00:52:33.18 No, I don't think so. 00:52:33.21\00:52:35.25 I don't think he could really help himself, he was so evil. 00:52:35.28\00:52:38.29 But when Christ actually submitted, then the devil 00:52:38.32\00:52:41.49 realized, "Man, I want Him to exercise His power and come down 00:52:41.52\00:52:44.29 off the cross." 00:52:44.33\00:52:45.63 But of course, Jesus didn't. 00:52:45.66\00:52:47.00 He remained there and that's why we have hope of eternal life, we 00:52:47.03\00:52:50.20 have salvation, because of Christ's willingness to suffer. 00:52:50.23\00:52:54.30 All right, thank you, Chris. 00:52:54.34\00:52:55.67 Aron: All right, our next caller is Samuel, calling in 00:52:55.70\00:52:58.61 from Washington. 00:52:58.64\00:52:59.94 This is a first-time caller and, Samuel, it seems that you're 00:53:00.04\00:53:03.24 quite young and you have a-- an interesting question for us 00:53:03.28\00:53:06.61 this evening. 00:53:06.65\00:53:07.95 Jean: Hi, Samuel. 00:53:07.98\00:53:09.32 How old are you? 00:53:09.35\00:53:10.65 Samuel: I am 11 years old. 00:53:10.69\00:53:12.02 And my question is: Are dinosaurs going to be in heaven? 00:53:12.05\00:53:14.96 Jean: Oh, great question. 00:53:14.99\00:53:16.29 All right, well, thank you for calling, Sammy. 00:53:16.32\00:53:17.66 We're glad you're listening. 00:53:17.69\00:53:18.99 Will dinosaurs be in heaven? 00:53:19.03\00:53:20.86 Well, I think there's going to be animals in heaven that you 00:53:20.90\00:53:23.26 can't even begin to imagine. 00:53:23.30\00:53:24.87 You know, there are dinosaurs. 00:53:24.90\00:53:26.33 Matter of fact, I think there are dinosaurs even mentioned in 00:53:26.37\00:53:29.14 the Bible. 00:53:29.17\00:53:30.51 The Bible speaks about something called the Behemoth. 00:53:30.54\00:53:33.07 And if you look at the description given in Job, it 00:53:33.11\00:53:35.18 talks about this giant animal that eats reeds is down by 00:53:35.21\00:53:38.75 the water. 00:53:38.78\00:53:40.12 He's vegetarian, but he has a thick tail and he's massive, 00:53:40.15\00:53:42.88 bigger than all the other animals. 00:53:42.92\00:53:44.62 So yeah, it could very well be that in heaven, when you get 00:53:44.65\00:53:47.66 there, you get to get a dinosaur pet. 00:53:47.69\00:53:51.06 Maybe a real big dinosaur that sleeps in your front yard, I 00:53:51.09\00:53:54.20 don't know. 00:53:54.20\00:53:55.43 But the Bible says: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has 00:53:55.46\00:53:58.10 it even entered into the heart of man, the things that God is 00:53:58.13\00:54:00.87 preparing for those that love Him." 00:54:00.90\00:54:02.80 So yes, it could very well be that there will be good 00:54:02.84\00:54:05.54 dinosaurs in heaven, not the bad ones. 00:54:05.57\00:54:07.91 There's going to be no death. 00:54:07.94\00:54:09.28 You don't have to be afraid of any animals, but yes, there will 00:54:09.31\00:54:12.41 be some wonderful animals in heaven. 00:54:12.45\00:54:14.42 Aron: All right, our next caller is Pam, calling in 00:54:14.45\00:54:16.82 from Washington. 00:54:16.85\00:54:18.79 Hello, Pam. 00:54:18.82\00:54:20.12 Welcome to the program. 00:54:20.16\00:54:21.49 What's your question for us? 00:54:21.52\00:54:23.06 Pam: Hi, I just want to know how come when Jesus was speaking 00:54:23.09\00:54:27.30 to His disciples privately and said, "Don't go or listen to one 00:54:27.36\00:54:31.93 that comes from a desert or secret chamber, that would be 00:54:31.97\00:54:34.94 the Antichrist and it would deceive the very elect." 00:54:34.97\00:54:38.11 They happened to be His elect. 00:54:38.14\00:54:40.58 So, and then He never said anything about Paul because at 00:54:40.61\00:54:44.05 the end of that chapter, it says He's coming back as lightning 00:54:44.08\00:54:46.78 strikes, in the blink of an eye, like, blink. 00:54:46.82\00:54:49.62 Why didn't He tell them about Paul? 00:54:49.65\00:54:51.59 Jean: Okay, let me get right in there because we can run out 00:54:51.62\00:54:53.66 of time. 00:54:53.69\00:54:54.99 So when Jesus said those things, He was referring to His 00:54:55.02\00:54:57.06 disciples, but even more, it was prophetic because it's talking 00:54:57.09\00:55:00.40 about the Second Coming of Christ. 00:55:00.43\00:55:02.03 So He's talking about us in the last days and He says, 00:55:02.06\00:55:04.53 "Don't be deceived." 00:55:04.57\00:55:06.30 Friends, we're going to have to end for those listening live, 00:55:06.33\00:55:08.77 but the rest stay by. 00:55:08.80\00:55:10.11 We'll be right back. 00:55:10.14\00:55:11.94 ¤¤¤ 00:55:11.97\00:55:14.08 announcer: Thank you for listening to today's broadcast. 00:55:14.11\00:55:16.78 We hope you understand your Bible even better than before. 00:55:16.81\00:55:20.35 "Bible Answers Live" is produced by Amazing Facts International, 00:55:20.38\00:55:24.62 a faith-based ministry located in Granite Bay, California. 00:55:24.65\00:55:28.72 ¤¤¤ 00:55:28.76\00:55:30.96 Aron: All right, welcome back for our final rapid-fire 00:55:30.99\00:55:34.00 question time. 00:55:34.03\00:55:35.33 And these questions are specifically taken from those 00:55:35.36\00:55:37.63 who have submitted questions ahead of time through email. 00:55:37.67\00:55:41.67 And if you would like to submit a question via email for us to 00:55:41.70\00:55:44.64 answer at the end of our program, you can submit them 00:55:44.67\00:55:46.91 to BALquestions@amazingfacts.org. 00:55:46.94\00:55:52.51 So without any further ado, let's get to our questions. 00:55:52.55\00:55:55.98 Morgan asked, "I have heard that we should long for 00:55:56.02\00:56:00.92 Christ's Second Coming. 00:56:00.96\00:56:02.59 How can I long for the Second Coming when so many people have 00:56:02.62\00:56:07.13 not yet been saved?" 00:56:07.20\00:56:08.50 Jean: All right, well, that's a good question. 00:56:08.53\00:56:09.83 Jesus says, of course, one of the prophecies in the scripture 00:56:09.86\00:56:13.74 say that "the Lord is not slack concerning His promise," talking 00:56:13.77\00:56:17.14 about the Second Coming, "but He's longsuffering towards us, 00:56:17.17\00:56:19.57 not willing that any should perish." 00:56:19.61\00:56:21.34 Why hasn't Jesus come yet? 00:56:21.38\00:56:22.68 Well, He's want to give as much time as He possibly can for 00:56:22.71\00:56:25.65 people to make that decision to serve Him. 00:56:25.68\00:56:27.85 So, on the one hand, yes, we are sad. 00:56:27.88\00:56:29.62 But on the other hand, you know, this world is getting worse and 00:56:29.65\00:56:31.75 worse and there's a lot of suffering that people are 00:56:31.79\00:56:33.76 experiencing here on this earth. 00:56:33.79\00:56:35.36 When Jesus comes, there's going to be no more war, no more pain, 00:56:35.39\00:56:38.19 no more sorrow. 00:56:38.23\00:56:39.53 He's going to make all things new. 00:56:39.56\00:56:40.90 So on the one hand, we want Him to come, but on the other hand, 00:56:40.93\00:56:42.86 we're saying, "Lord, but what about this person? 00:56:42.90\00:56:44.30 What about that person?" 00:56:44.33\00:56:45.67 God knows the perfect time and we can just trust in Him, 00:56:45.70\00:56:48.24 knowing that He's going to do everything He can to try and 00:56:48.27\00:56:50.71 save people. 00:56:50.74\00:56:52.04 Aron: All right, our next question by chairman. 00:56:52.07\00:56:53.51 He asked in relation to Leviticus, where there's laws 00:56:53.54\00:56:57.11 discussing clean and unclean meats, basically, did these laws 00:56:57.15\00:57:01.45 also apply to pets? 00:57:01.48\00:57:04.32 Jean: Okay, you know, some of the animals that we have running 00:57:04.35\00:57:07.22 around our house today would be considered unclean, for example, 00:57:07.26\00:57:09.96 dogs and cats. 00:57:09.99\00:57:11.36 You can't eat dogs and cats. 00:57:11.39\00:57:13.66 Is it okay to have pets? 00:57:13.70\00:57:14.96 Did the Israelites have pets? 00:57:15.00\00:57:16.73 Well, we know they had donkeys, and donkeys are unclean, and 00:57:16.77\00:57:19.87 they used donkeys. 00:57:19.90\00:57:21.20 You can use unclean animals. 00:57:21.24\00:57:22.84 You can have unclean pets, just don't eat them. 00:57:22.87\00:57:25.41 That's what the Bible is referring to. 00:57:25.44\00:57:27.28 Aron: All right, our next question. 00:57:27.31\00:57:28.74 Candace asks: "Do you have to be perfect to get to heaven?" 00:57:28.78\00:57:33.92 In a previous episode, Pastor Doug referred to being perfect 00:57:33.95\00:57:36.52 in order to go to heaven. 00:57:36.55\00:57:37.89 What was he talking about? 00:57:37.92\00:57:39.22 Is it perfect before Jesus comes or after or--. 00:57:39.25\00:57:42.22 Jean: Okay, when we receive Jesus as our personal Savior and 00:57:42.26\00:57:44.56 we confess our sins, the Bible says, "He's faithful and just to 00:57:44.59\00:57:47.13 forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 00:57:47.20\00:57:49.36 We are standing before God just as if we have never sinned. 00:57:49.40\00:57:53.00 And as long as we are trusting in Jesus, allowing the Holy 00:57:53.03\00:57:55.90 Spirit to work within us, we can trust that at that time, we will 00:57:55.94\00:58:00.61 be found completely clothed in His righteousness. 00:58:00.64\00:58:03.68 And yes, we will be perfect. 00:58:03.71\00:58:05.48 But as long as we keep allowing the Holy Spirit to dwell within 00:58:05.51\00:58:08.28 us, we keep trusting, He will finish the good work that He 00:58:08.32\00:58:11.89 has started. 00:58:11.92\00:58:13.22 Well, friends, thank you so much for joining us for "Bible 00:58:13.25\00:58:14.86 Answers Live." 00:58:14.89\00:58:16.22 Hopefully, we answered your question. 00:58:16.26\00:58:17.56 Join us again next week for a new episode. 00:58:17.59\00:58:21.80 announcer: "Bible Answers Live." 00:58:21.83\00:58:23.30 Honest and accurate answers to your Bible questions. 00:58:23.33\00:58:27.27 ¤¤¤ 00:58:27.30\00:58:29.14
