remember the

The last 6 of
the 10 commandments

have to do with our relationship
with our fellow man,

which is honoring
our parents, not murder,

don't commit
adultery, don't lie,

Now the commandments
that we find mentioned here,

Jesus is not addressing any
of the first four commandments,

but He's
pointing out the last six

that has to do with his
relationship with his fellow

man, because it appears that
that seems to be the sensitive

area, a part of his life that
he was struggling to let go of,

in verse 20 and he says,

I've kept from my youth."

But then Jesus
narrows in and He says,

"One thing you lack,

go sell what you have
and give it to the poor,

and you shall have
treasury in heaven."

So quite possibly that the
sin that this rich young ruler

was struggling with was pride.

He felt superior to
others, he was rich,

he was young, he was a ruler,
00:06:27.98\00:06:29.98
so he had influence in power,
and he looked down on others.

And Jesus was
emphasizing that in order
00:06:33.69\00:06:35.89
to truly keep the law, it's
not just an outward behavior,

but it has to do with the heart.

Love for God,
love for our fellow man

is the motivation for
obedience to God's commandments.

And that was the
point that he was lacking,

or for a limited period of time,

or you could be committed for
a much longer period of time,

the leader or the messenger

hen a person is

not a teaching in the Bible.

during the dark ages.

Part of the problem at that time

is so many babies were dying

teaching was prominent

that if you weren't baptized,
