they cover roughly the same
time period of Christian history

So that white horse
represents that first 70 years

when the gospel was
spreading so rapidly

throughout the Roman empire,

the next is a red horse

and the red horse is
a symbol of persecution

that came upon the Christians
from about 100 to 313 AD.

Terrible persecution
that came from pagan Rome.

And the reason for that
is because the Christians

refused to
acknowledge the emperor of Rome

as a deity or as a god.

And so they faced
all kinds of opposition.

So red is a symbol of blood.

It describes that time of trial,

that persecution
that came upon the church.

The next horse just
real briefly is described

as a black horse that describes
the time period after 313,

when you had the
legalization of Christianity,

found their way into

That leads into the
dark ages as we know.

And during the dark ages,

which is the fourth

time of death and famine.

There was a terrible

The next seal talks about
the reformation persecution.

So the seals have a

different aspects of the seal

Jesus said one of the
signs of the last days

Now it was the Spirit of God,

that was appealing to them,

They refused and so the

So it's not talking
about when Jesus died,

His disembodied Spirit

There's a whole doctrine

that's been built on a
misapplication of the phrase,

the first verse in verse 18,
which talks about the Spirit.

It's the Holy Spirit
that being emphasized.

And the Holy Spirit
did speak to the people

prisoners from the prison."

it's the prisonment
