Well, I'd like to welcome our speaker 00:06:02.50\00:06:05.90 Pastor Doug Batchelor, president of Amazing Facts. 00:06:05.93\00:06:08.77 Pastor Doug, we are so excited about this, 00:06:08.80\00:06:10.80 I know we've been working on this program for quite 00:06:10.83\00:06:13.21 a while, and it's finally here. You can sit also. 00:06:13.24\00:06:16.65 Oh! That's right; you don't have to stand 00:06:16.68\00:06:18.31 through the whole program. 00:06:18.34\00:06:19.31 You're a very obedient group, thank you. 00:06:19.33\00:06:21.33 Alright, well, let's take a few Bible questions, 00:06:22.55\00:06:25.27 as we get started in the program tonight. 00:06:25.30\00:06:26.70 Part of each program, we're gonna give you an 00:06:26.73\00:06:28.67 opportunity to ask questions about the Bible, 00:06:28.70\00:06:31.16 we're beginning the most important adventure in life. 00:06:31.19\00:06:34.96 This adventure, successful leads to eternity. 00:06:34.99\00:06:39.54 And so nothing can be a more important than that. 00:06:39.57\00:06:41.99 And so, we want to encourage all of our friends, 00:06:42.02\00:06:44.04 who are here at our local church, and all of our 00:06:44.07\00:06:45.70 friends who are watching around the world, 00:06:45.73\00:06:47.63 if you got questions about the Bible or about God, 00:06:47.66\00:06:50.59 we'd encourage you to send them in. 00:06:50.62\00:06:52.40 We've got a few that have been pre-recorded 00:06:52.43\00:06:54.35 for the first nights program from Sacramento. 00:06:54.38\00:06:57.25 And we want to give you an opportunity, 00:06:57.28\00:06:58.70 some of you might email a picture of yourself with 00:06:58.73\00:07:01.30 the question. They've got the technology; 00:07:01.33\00:07:03.63 maybe they could even send a little video real quick. 00:07:03.66\00:07:06.33 They know how to do that on YouTube. 00:07:06.36\00:07:07.78 And we want to get your Bible questions, 00:07:07.81\00:07:10.14 but tonight I think we're priming the pump a little 00:07:10.17\00:07:12.48 because we got a few prepared. 00:07:12.51\00:07:14.12 We do, we have two video questions this evening. 00:07:14.15\00:07:17.21 So, if all the equipment works correctly, 00:07:17.24\00:07:19.59 we'll roll that question right now, alright. 00:07:19.62\00:07:22.12 Where is the original Bible? Okay, that's 00:07:22.15\00:07:25.58 Nathaniel in Sacramento who is asking, 00:07:25.61\00:07:27.67 where is the original Bible? This whole program 00:07:27.70\00:07:30.33 tonight is about the Bible. And it's The 00:07:30.36\00:07:33.32 Amazing Treasure Map, that's our study for tonight. 00:07:33.35\00:07:36.02 Some one might want to know where is the 00:07:36.05\00:07:38.67 original Bible? Well, the Bible originally was 00:07:38.70\00:07:41.84 given by voice, it was the word spoken by God to 00:07:41.87\00:07:46.05 Adam and Eve, and then Adam and Eve passed it 00:07:46.08\00:07:48.00 onto their children. Do you know Adam probably 00:07:48.03\00:07:50.11 had a photographic memory. He could remember 00:07:50.14\00:07:52.86 everything, but as man began to get weaker 00:07:52.89\00:07:56.78 because of sin, his memory started being affected 00:07:56.81\00:07:59.93 by that. And pretty soon, they began to write it down, 00:07:59.96\00:08:03.08 do you know, some of the first of the Bible that was 00:08:03.11\00:08:04.67 written down was written by God when he wrote 00:08:04.70\00:08:06.83 the Ten Commandments. And Moses wrote of course 00:08:06.86\00:08:09.55 the books of Genesis, and Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, 00:08:09.58\00:08:12.07 Deuteronomy. Do you know, you see that Bible, 00:08:12.10\00:08:14.59 we got here on the stage. Anyone want to guess 00:08:14.62\00:08:17.88 how old that Bible is? Go ahead, you call out, 00:08:17.91\00:08:21.59 what's, what's your guess. Two thousand. 00:08:21.62\00:08:24.19 No, it's not quite 2,000 years old. 00:08:24.22\00:08:25.82 But it's almost 200 years old. This Bible is 1816, 00:08:25.85\00:08:31.99 1812, oh 1812. But still almost 200 years old, 190, 00:08:32.02\00:08:37.96 but anyway the Bible's been around a long time 00:08:37.99\00:08:41.21 1500 years. But we talk more about that 00:08:41.24\00:08:44.06 in our lesson tonight. Alright, well Pastor Doug 00:08:44.09\00:08:45.87 I have got a Bible question for you. Here it is. 00:08:45.90\00:08:49.24 Tell me how old are you? Can I sneak in, 00:08:49.27\00:08:52.39 these questions are reserved, okay, 00:08:52.42\00:08:54.15 I'm 12 I can get in. Alright, here is the Bible 00:08:54.18\00:08:55.90 question. What is the best way to read 00:08:55.93\00:08:58.20 and study the Bible? That's a very important 00:08:58.23\00:09:00.82 question, let me see, how many of you have a 00:09:00.85\00:09:03.65 Bible at home? Our friends that are watching, 00:09:03.68\00:09:07.57 I hope you have all got Bibles, most of you look 00:09:07.60\00:09:09.46 at that. All most of you kids have Bibles at home, 00:09:09.49\00:09:11.60 that's right, very good. Did some of you bring your own 00:09:11.63\00:09:13.59 Bibles tonight? Good for you and we hope you're 00:09:13.62\00:09:16.13 bringing your Bibles to the meetings. 00:09:16.16\00:09:17.53 We're very thank, well Review & Herald provided 00:09:17.56\00:09:19.83 some Bibles here for our local meeting. 00:09:19.86\00:09:21.83 So, the kids that come at least seven nights, 00:09:21.86\00:09:24.16 you get to take that Bible home with you at the end 00:09:24.19\00:09:26.24 of the meetings. Okay, in case you got to attend. 00:09:26.27\00:09:28.14 What was the question again? Oh! The best way 00:09:28.17\00:09:30.62 to study the Bible. That's right, the best way to 00:09:30.65\00:09:33.95 study the Bible is to start little-by-little, 00:09:33.98\00:09:36.96 you might begin in the beginning with Genesis. 00:09:36.99\00:09:39.76 And if you find out that it gets a little bit 00:09:39.79\00:09:42.09 difficult sometimes, you can jump to what 00:09:42.12\00:09:44.60 they called the New Testament. 00:09:44.63\00:09:45.94 The Bible's divided in a couple of parts here. 00:09:45.97\00:09:48.41 Three quarters of the Bible is the Old Testament. 00:09:48.44\00:09:51.60 The New Testament begins right about here; 00:09:51.63\00:09:56.07 this is the part of the Bible written before 00:09:56.10\00:09:58.59 Jesus was born, the Old Testament. 00:09:58.62\00:10:00.82 The New Testament was written after Jesus was 00:10:00.85\00:10:03.61 born. And so, you can also go to the New Testament 00:10:03.64\00:10:06.76 and read about the life of Jesus. 00:10:06.79\00:10:08.66 When God became a man, if you can't read a lot 00:10:08.69\00:10:11.80 or all at once, start with little verses. 00:10:11.83\00:10:16.34 The best way to get a good beginning in 00:10:16.37\00:10:19.22 Bible study is to have a Bible of course. 00:10:19.25\00:10:21.66 And you use the study guides that go 00:10:21.69\00:10:23.31 with this series, that will really help you. 00:10:23.34\00:10:25.36 Alright, well Pastor Doug, I think we have another 00:10:25.39\00:10:27.70 video question for this evening, alright, 00:10:27.73\00:10:29.82 so be ready for that. Did the miracles in 00:10:29.85\00:10:33.51 the Bible really happen? Okay, Shenelle from 00:10:33.54\00:10:37.71 Sacramento is asking, did the miracles in the 00:10:37.74\00:10:40.04 Bible really happen? Let me ask you, 00:10:40.07\00:10:41.96 what do you think? How many of you think that 00:10:41.99\00:10:43.30 the miracles in the Bible are true? Oh! I knew 00:10:43.33\00:10:47.09 we had a faithful crowd here tonight. 00:10:47.12\00:10:48.78 You're absolutely right. The miracles in the Bible 00:10:48.81\00:10:51.99 are true, and you know God still performs miracles 00:10:52.02\00:10:54.75 today. Did you know that? Everybody alive is a 00:10:54.78\00:10:58.29 miracle, life is a miracle. We're surrounded with 00:10:58.32\00:11:01.06 miracles all the time. But I believe in all the 00:11:01.09\00:11:03.96 miracles of the Bible, I really believe that 00:11:03.99\00:11:05.53 Jesus walked on water. I believe that he could 00:11:05.56\00:11:08.03 raise the death that he could he heal the sick. 00:11:08.06\00:11:10.04 I believe that Moses, when he stretched out his rod, 00:11:10.07\00:11:13.60 that the, the sea parted. And all these miracles 00:11:13.63\00:11:17.64 really happen. You are gonna be hearing more 00:11:17.67\00:11:20.24 about this. By the way, we're praying for a 00:11:20.27\00:11:22.36 miracle right now at this series of meetings that 00:11:22.39\00:11:24.90 the Lord will bless these meetings, 00:11:24.93\00:11:26.23 a thousand things have to work together, 00:11:26.26\00:11:28.26 that he'll bless the weather for our friends 00:11:28.29\00:11:30.74 who are watching all different parts of the 00:11:30.77\00:11:32.06 country. And that God will pour out his spirit. 00:11:32.09\00:11:34.45 I think we're gonna see some miracles. 00:11:34.48\00:11:36.02 Amen, we believe so. Well, Pastor Doug, 00:11:36.05\00:11:38.16 we have a special music at this time. 00:11:38.19\00:11:39.65 I'm gonna invite the Amazing Adventures 00:11:39.68\00:11:41.69 singers to come forward. You can 00:14:15.58\00:14:17.57 bring your friends to come, still not too 00:14:17.60\00:14:19.87 late to invite your friends, right? Maybe you have 00:14:19.90\00:14:22.35 some friends at school, or in your neighborhood 00:14:22.38\00:14:24.88 that you like to talk to and say, Wow! 00:14:24.91\00:14:26.33 We're having a great program at this home 00:14:26.36\00:14:28.37 or this church invite them because you want them 00:14:28.40\00:14:31.29 to find that city of gold that we're all going to. 00:14:31.32\00:14:34.67 Well, tonight we're gonna talk about the lesson 00:14:34.70\00:14:39.02 number one, The Treasure Map. How many of you 00:14:39.05\00:14:42.09 have ever looked for treasure before? 00:14:42.12\00:14:44.15 You ever find, yeah. I used to go digging 00:14:44.18\00:14:47.04 in my dad's backyard; we have dug a tunnel 00:14:47.07\00:14:49.83 one time, looking for treasure. Of course 00:14:49.86\00:14:52.05 I don't know why we just dug in the hillside, 00:14:52.08\00:14:53.90 we never did find anything, but it was fun looking 00:14:53.93\00:14:56.08 for the treasure. A lot of people pretend that 00:14:56.11\00:14:58.85 they've got treasure maps and they're just not real. 00:14:58.88\00:15:01.19 But some people have found real treasures in history. 00:15:01.22\00:15:05.24 Back in 1947, some boys living in the Land of Israel 00:15:05.27\00:15:10.70 were looking for a lost goat. And they saw a 00:15:10.73\00:15:13.80 little cave up against the hillside, they took a rock 00:15:13.83\00:15:17.03 and they threw the rock up in the cave just 00:15:17.06\00:15:19.68 wondering if their goat had wandered in there. 00:15:19.71\00:15:21.37 And they heard a breaking sound like, 00:15:21.40\00:15:23.27 breaking glass. So, they scrambled up to the cave 00:15:23.30\00:15:26.52 and they looked in there. And they saw that there 00:15:26.55\00:15:29.49 were some jars, and in the jars were a bunch 00:15:29.52\00:15:31.77 of scrolls. And they could see they were very old 00:15:31.80\00:15:34.28 scrolls. They thought Wow! This is like a treasure. 00:15:34.31\00:15:38.20 Nobody's been in this cave for maybe a 00:15:38.23\00:15:40.06 thousand years. It was more than a thousand years. 00:15:40.09\00:15:42.98 And so, what they did is they said, let's, 00:15:43.01\00:15:46.08 let's take some of these scrolls down and let's 00:15:46.11\00:15:49.03 take them to Bethlehem. Sell them see what 00:15:49.06\00:15:50.61 their worth. They sold some of them for $30. 00:15:50.64\00:15:54.01 Do you know how much they were worth? 00:15:54.04\00:15:56.29 Way more than $30 million? They had found the Dead 00:15:57.14\00:16:02.56 Sea scrolls; it was the oldest segments of the 00:16:02.59\00:16:06.25 Bible in existence. These boys out there looking 00:16:06.28\00:16:08.69 for goats, found treasure. And they didn't even 00:16:08.72\00:16:11.77 know what they found? You know, the Bible is a 00:16:11.80\00:16:15.31 treasure, and the most important thing I want 00:16:15.34\00:16:18.06 to share with you tonight is that, you can know 00:16:18.09\00:16:20.94 how to live forever because, if you follow 00:16:20.97\00:16:22.93 this map of the Bible. This map will tell you, 00:16:22.96\00:16:26.13 how to get to God's kingdom, it will guide 00:16:26.16\00:16:27.93 you through this life, it gives you everything 00:16:27.96\00:16:29.80 you need for happiness and eternal life? 00:16:29.83\00:16:32.15 Now, in our study we are gonna be going through 00:16:32.18\00:16:34.49 the lesson and we're gonna do it in like a question 00:16:34.52\00:16:36.92 and answer format. So, I'm gonna go right to the 00:16:36.95\00:16:39.17 lesson, let's look at question number one. 00:16:39.20\00:16:41.16 Someone might have told you that the Bible 00:16:41.19\00:16:44.16 is just a fairytale; any of you ever hear that, 00:16:44.19\00:16:46.90 no you can't believe the Bible, it's just fable 00:16:46.93\00:16:49.28 fairy tales. But can we trust that the Bible 00:16:49.31\00:16:52.89 is true? How do we know, we can trust the Bible 00:16:52.92\00:16:56.31 is true? What does the Bible say about itself? 00:16:56.34\00:16:58.73 If you got your Bibles you can look these verses up. 00:16:58.76\00:17:01.87 Matter of fact, we'll be giving you a lesson here 00:17:01.90\00:17:03.75 after the program. In the Bible it says, 00:17:03.78\00:17:06.36 All Scripture, how much? "All Scripture is given 00:17:06.39\00:17:10.74 by inspiration of God." That's Second Timothy 3:16. 00:17:10.77\00:17:14.21 The whole Bible is a message from God to you. 00:17:14.24\00:17:18.89 Any of you ever get a letter in the mail. 00:17:18.92\00:17:20.67 You excited to get a letter in the mail, 00:17:20.70\00:17:23.02 you want to open it up, you wonder what it is? 00:17:23.05\00:17:24.85 And sometimes our son Nathan, he gets a lego 00:17:24.88\00:17:28.17 magazine in the mail. He's so excited about that 00:17:28.20\00:17:30.78 magazine, he pours over, he takes it up and goes to 00:17:30.81\00:17:33.11 bed with it. And he'll be here later in the, 00:17:33.14\00:17:35.60 in these series, you will see Mrs. Batchelor 00:17:35.63\00:17:38.19 and two of the Batchelor boys. What if you had a 00:17:38.22\00:17:41.24 letter from God? How valuable would that be? 00:17:41.27\00:17:44.71 The Bible is a love letter from God to you. 00:17:44.74\00:17:49.17 And you know, it's especially interesting now 00:17:49.20\00:17:52.01 because right now you and I can buy Bibles 00:17:52.04\00:17:54.04 and we got the whole word of God. 00:17:54.07\00:17:55.35 They used to have to carry around all these camels. 00:17:55.38\00:17:58.51 I remember reading at one time about the 00:17:58.54\00:18:01.23 Grand Vizier of Persia. He had a library with 00:18:01.26\00:18:04.31 about 400,000 books in it. And he had hundreds 00:18:04.34\00:18:07.54 of camels that carried his library with him, 00:18:07.57\00:18:10.11 wherever he went. Hundreds of camels to carry his 00:18:10.14\00:18:13.14 library. Now, you could put it all on a little laptop 00:18:13.17\00:18:15.73 computer. We're lucky to have all of the word of 00:18:15.76\00:18:19.13 God together for us to study. First book ever 00:18:19.16\00:18:22.32 printed on a printing press was the Bible. 00:18:22.35\00:18:24.13 That was by Johann Gutenberg in 1456, 00:18:24.16\00:18:27.82 up till then they used to have to write the 00:18:27.85\00:18:30.00 Bibles down by hand. And the Bible's written on paper 00:18:30.03\00:18:33.95 of course, and that's where you get the word paper 00:18:33.98\00:18:36.62 comes from "Papyrus," it came from an ancient 00:18:36.65\00:18:39.95 Phoenician city called Biblos. And they made 00:18:39.98\00:18:43.82 some many books out of the Papyrus in Biblos 00:18:43.85\00:18:46.60 that they started saying, well that's a book. 00:18:46.63\00:18:48.91 And booker Biblos meant a collection of book. 00:18:48.94\00:18:52.76 And so we can get the word Bible, it's a Latin 00:18:52.79\00:18:55.18 word that means it's a collection of books. 00:18:55.21\00:18:56.99 The Bible has got a lot of books in it that tell about 00:18:57.02\00:19:01.18 God and our relationship with him. 00:19:01.21\00:19:03.02 And so that's a little bit of the history. 00:19:03.05\00:19:05.57 I told you they used to print by hand, 00:19:05.60\00:19:10.67 and then they were able to do it on a printing press 00:19:10.70\00:19:12.73 and now Bibles it's the number one book being 00:19:12.76\00:19:15.43 printed in the world today its the best seller in 00:19:15.46\00:19:18.52 history. And some countries that not allowed 00:19:18.55\00:19:21.02 to read the Bible. Mrs. Batchelor and I once 00:19:21.05\00:19:24.05 went to Russia. And we gave away hundreds 00:19:24.08\00:19:27.02 of Bibles there and the people were so excited 00:19:27.05\00:19:29.10 'cause they hadn't been able to read the Bible 00:19:29.13\00:19:31.20 in 70 years, and they were stroking and petting 00:19:31.23\00:19:33.88 the Bible. One of the most valuable Bibles is the 00:19:33.91\00:19:36.98 first Bible printed on a printing press, 00:19:37.01\00:19:38.81 which was the Gutenberg Bible. 00:19:38.84\00:19:40.20 And I think, I've got a picture of that right there 00:19:40.23\00:19:41.91 on the screen for you. How much do you think 00:19:41.94\00:19:44.08 that would be worth? Be valuable, but you know 00:19:44.11\00:19:47.12 it wouldn't be a worth as much to you. 00:19:47.15\00:19:48.85 Because you can't read German, I don't think 00:19:48.88\00:19:51.61 most of you, some of our viewers can, 00:19:51.64\00:19:53.75 but you can read the real Bible in English, 00:19:53.78\00:19:57.05 or your Bibles in English. And so, take 00:19:57.08\00:19:59.90 advantage of this precious book you know; 00:19:59.93\00:20:01.72 right now they're having a presidential election. 00:20:01.75\00:20:03.82 When the president is elected, he's voted into 00:20:03.85\00:20:07.05 office, he places his hand on what book? The Bible. 00:20:07.08\00:20:10.91 The Bible and he makes a vow. It's such a sacred 00:20:10.94\00:20:14.14 book and it's got this history that goes back 00:20:14.17\00:20:16.08 for hundreds of years. The Bible is the map that 00:20:16.11\00:20:19.22 tells us about life; it tells us how to follow Jesus 00:20:19.25\00:20:22.62 and where to go? Now, you know, more, 00:20:22.65\00:20:24.29 more-and-more of the cars have something 00:20:24.32\00:20:26.84 very special. During our series every now and then, 00:20:26.87\00:20:29.59 we're gonna take a look in our mystery chest. 00:20:29.62\00:20:32.17 This up here's a mystery chest, we're gonna have 00:20:32.20\00:20:33.95 some surprises in here night-after-night. 00:20:33.98\00:20:36.06 I'm gonna grab something out of here, 00:20:36.09\00:20:37.57 out of the mystery chest here for a second. 00:20:37.60\00:20:39.47 Lets see, what we got going on in here. 00:20:43.06\00:20:46.32 Who knows what this is? This is a GPS, 00:20:46.35\00:20:51.44 and my GPS here, let me see how I turn it on? 00:20:51.47\00:20:55.18 Looks like the batteries have gone out on me. 00:20:55.21\00:20:57.36 When you first turn this thing on, what it does 00:20:57.39\00:21:00.26 is it says, it's acquiring satellite. How many have 00:21:00.29\00:21:03.80 you have cars you know they get GPS in them. 00:21:03.83\00:21:06.04 Now, when I travel I take one with me. 00:21:06.07\00:21:07.78 And then it's got a map, but before you can use 00:21:07.81\00:21:10.82 the map on the GPS, it's got to get satellites, 00:21:10.85\00:21:14.14 not just one or two, it needs three or four 00:21:14.17\00:21:16.43 the more you have the better. When you're 00:21:16.46\00:21:19.09 trying to figure out, what the truth is? 00:21:19.12\00:21:20.99 You don't just read one verse in the Bible to find 00:21:21.02\00:21:23.66 out what God wants. Some people confuse the Bible, 00:21:23.69\00:21:25.98 by just reading one verse all by itself. 00:21:26.01\00:21:28.37 You compare the scriptures in the Bible, 00:21:28.40\00:21:30.84 and it guides you like a map and gives you the 00:21:30.87\00:21:34.12 right direction that you should go. 00:21:34.15\00:21:35.60 Someone once said, that the word Bible 00:21:35.63\00:21:38.46 B-I-B-L-E, it stands for, it's an acronym. 00:21:38.49\00:21:42.50 That means the words represents something else. 00:21:42.53\00:21:44.92 Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. 00:21:44.95\00:21:50.34 Can you say that with me? Basic Instructions 00:21:50.37\00:21:54.31 Before Leaving Earth. How many of you want 00:21:54.34\00:21:57.18 to leave earth and go to heaven? The Bible is your 00:21:57.21\00:22:00.67 instruction book, so you can know how you get 00:22:00.70\00:22:04.21 out of this world into the next one. 00:22:04.24\00:22:05.70 And you want to be able to compare the 00:22:05.73\00:22:07.47 verses in the Bible. So, you can arrive at the truth. 00:22:07.50\00:22:10.12 One time, when Jesus was been tempted by the devil. 00:22:10.15\00:22:12.93 The devil misquoted the Bible to him to cause 00:22:12.96\00:22:16.26 confusion. And so, you've got to know the Bible 00:22:16.29\00:22:19.55 because sometimes the devil will try to trick you 00:22:19.58\00:22:21.71 and misquote it. Let me give you an example of that. 00:22:21.74\00:22:24.28 I might need a volunteer, let's come, come up here 00:22:24.31\00:22:28.01 for a second right there Joel, you're on the 00:22:28.04\00:22:29.30 front row, so you got picked. You didn't know 00:22:29.33\00:22:30.78 I was gonna do this, did you? You look like a 00:22:30.81\00:22:32.50 stout boy, so I wanna, want you to do something 00:22:32.53\00:22:34.54 for me. Alright, fold your arms, spread your legs 00:22:34.57\00:22:37.54 a little bit, okay, I going to try and push you over 00:22:37.57\00:22:39.87 with my finger, don't let me push you over, 00:22:39.90\00:22:41.47 okay. Okay. How old are you? Eleven. 00:22:41.50\00:22:44.73 He's pretty strong for eleven. Okay, pretty 00:22:44.76\00:22:47.65 tough, can't push away with one finger. 00:22:47.68\00:22:49.44 I don't know if I can push him with my hand, 00:22:49.47\00:22:51.82 alright. Now, lift up one leg, hold it up. 00:22:51.85\00:22:55.93 See how easy that is? Thank you, very much 00:22:58.92\00:23:00.90 and you know why I said that? When you're 00:23:00.93\00:23:02.79 discovering, and what the truth is, you don't 00:23:02.82\00:23:04.73 want just one verse of the scripture. 00:23:04.76\00:23:06.79 How much stronger and more stable are you 00:23:06.82\00:23:08.66 with two feet than one foot. So, read the 00:23:08.69\00:23:11.59 different verses in the Bible and it's starts you to 00:23:11.62\00:23:13.75 under, help you understand what the truth is? 00:23:13.78\00:23:16.46 Let's go to our next question in our lesson. 00:23:16.49\00:23:18.80 Question number two, how can you know for yourself 00:23:18.83\00:23:22.18 that the Bible is true? Oh! Maybe some preacher 00:23:22.21\00:23:26.49 say it, your mom and dad hopefully tell you that, 00:23:26.52\00:23:29.63 but how can you know that the Bible is true. 00:23:29.66\00:23:32.83 There is a verse that says, in Psalm 34 verse 8, 00:23:32.86\00:23:37.57 "Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!" 00:23:37.60\00:23:41.69 Alright, I'm gonna bring up another volunteer I, 00:23:41.72\00:23:44.07 I have already asked Nathan, if he'd come 00:23:44.10\00:23:45.99 up here for a second. And this is Nathan Nedley 00:23:46.02\00:23:49.10 here, you stand right here Nathan. I'm gonna, 00:23:49.13\00:23:51.41 are you getting hungry Nathan, I'm just wondering. 00:23:51.44\00:23:53.99 Sure. You're a little hungry? Yeah. Well, 00:23:54.02\00:23:57.17 you might get something to eat. 00:23:57.20\00:23:58.36 Let me see here, you're not allergic to anything, 00:23:58.98\00:24:00.93 this is, this sock I want you to know this nothing 00:24:00.96\00:24:02.83 wrong with this sock, it's been at the bottom of 00:24:02.86\00:24:04.67 my laundry hamper for two years. 00:24:04.70\00:24:06.21 I know that it's fine, okay. Could you see 00:24:06.24\00:24:08.85 anything? Nope. How's your smeller work? 00:24:08.88\00:24:11.70 Pretty good. What do you smell? An apple. 00:24:13.10\00:24:17.35 An apple, okay just checking. Hang on a 00:24:17.38\00:24:24.38 second now, I want you to trust me and open 00:24:24.41\00:24:27.38 your mouth, I put something in, there 00:24:27.41\00:24:28.59 is a piece of fruit, are, are you allergic, 00:24:28.62\00:24:30.49 do you have any food allergies. No, okay, 00:24:30.52\00:24:32.50 good bite down, chew that up, it be good for you, 00:24:32.53\00:24:35.15 what was that? A grape. A grape, you know, 00:24:35.18\00:24:38.03 how do you know that was a grape? 00:24:38.06\00:24:39.37 Now, let me show you something that apple 00:24:39.40\00:24:41.41 that you just smelled a second ago, isn't that 00:24:41.44\00:24:44.78 what he smelled? The grape that you ate, 00:24:44.81\00:24:49.63 you can tell the difference between the grape 00:24:49.66\00:24:52.77 and the banana because you tasted it for yourself, 00:24:52.80\00:24:56.92 right? Thank you, very much. Can you, let's give 00:24:56.95\00:24:58.34 him a hand. Thank him for his help. 00:24:58.37\00:25:00.17 So, how we are gonna know that the Bible is true? 00:25:05.01\00:25:07.64 We got to read it for ourselves. I didn't grow 00:25:09.72\00:25:12.71 up reading the Bible and I had to eventually 00:25:12.74\00:25:15.12 read it for myself to find that out. 00:25:15.15\00:25:16.78 Question number three, does God foretell the 00:25:16.81\00:25:20.38 future in the Bible? Wouldn't you like to know what 00:25:20.41\00:25:23.69 the future is? Yes. Listen to what it says, 00:25:23.72\00:25:26.49 in Isaiah chapter 46, verse 9 and 10. 00:25:26.52\00:25:30.17 God says, "I am God declaring the end from 00:25:30.20\00:25:34.32 the beginning, and from ancient times things 00:25:34.35\00:25:37.43 that are not yet done." God sees all of history 00:25:37.46\00:25:41.50 together and he tells the future many times in the 00:25:41.53\00:25:44.64 Bible. The Bible is filled with incredible prophecies. 00:25:44.67\00:25:48.43 Let me give you some examples, God told Noah 00:25:48.46\00:25:51.35 that there was going to be a tremendous flood coming. 00:25:51.38\00:25:54.02 And some people didn't listen; a lot of people 00:25:54.05\00:25:56.85 didn't listen. And they suffered because of that. 00:25:56.88\00:25:59.84 Right now, while we're doing this meeting there 00:25:59.87\00:26:03.22 is a lot of things happening in the news that have 00:26:03.25\00:26:05.07 to do with weather, right? And people who have 00:26:05.10\00:26:09.11 satellite cameras up in the sky, up in the heavens 00:26:09.14\00:26:12.00 are looking down and they see this great hurricane 00:26:12.03\00:26:14.86 heading towards the Texas coast, and the people 00:26:14.89\00:26:17.48 get on the radio. And they tell them in the newspaper, 00:26:17.51\00:26:20.01 there is a serious storm coming, you need to move. 00:26:20.04\00:26:23.42 And I just before I came to the program, 00:26:23.45\00:26:25.93 they said on the news a lot of people aren't moving. 00:26:25.96\00:26:28.06 Now, those folks who are looking from the cameras 00:26:29.80\00:26:32.38 in the sky, they're not using prophecy. 00:26:32.41\00:26:34.98 They're using cameras in the sky; they can see 00:26:35.01\00:26:37.20 what's coming because of their prospective. 00:26:37.23\00:26:39.50 How much does God know? Everything. 00:26:39.53\00:26:42.10 He knows everything. And in the Bible he often 00:26:42.13\00:26:45.99 outlines the history of the world. Do you know Jesus 00:26:46.02\00:26:48.62 foretold, he said in 40 years from A. D 30, 00:26:48.65\00:26:53.22 he said in 40 years the Jewish temple would be 00:26:53.25\00:26:56.42 destroyed, there would not be one stone left upon 00:26:56.45\00:26:59.95 another. And exactly 40 years later the Romans 00:26:59.98\00:27:03.59 came and completely destroyed the temple, 00:27:03.62\00:27:05.63 and they did not leave two stones one on top 00:27:05.66\00:27:08.51 of the other. The Lord foretold so many things 00:27:08.54\00:27:11.92 in the Bible. Matter of fact, I'm gonna need 00:27:11.95\00:27:14.73 one more volunteer here; let me see, 00:27:14.76\00:27:16.75 who am I get, young lady right up here, 00:27:16.78\00:27:19.15 what's your name? Gillian. Gillian, alright. 00:27:19.18\00:27:21.57 Tell you what, you want to look in the mystery box, 00:27:21.60\00:27:23.13 and see if there is a statue in there, 00:27:23.16\00:27:24.84 grab that for me. You can pick them right up, 00:27:24.87\00:27:29.41 that's Ivan the idol, maybe we called it Ike. 00:27:30.84\00:27:33.58 Okay, there is a dream that Daniel has in 00:27:35.02\00:27:39.23 Daniel chapter 2; King Nebuchadnezzar had a 00:27:39.26\00:27:42.37 dream of this strange idol, because all the nations 00:27:42.40\00:27:45.67 of the word were worshiping idols except 00:27:45.70\00:27:47.36 the Jewish back then. And it had a head of gold 00:27:47.39\00:27:50.95 and arms of silver and a belly of bronze, and legs 00:27:50.98\00:27:53.76 of iron, and the feet were iron and clay. 00:27:53.79\00:27:55.93 And the King didn't know what the dream meant? 00:27:55.96\00:27:58.22 So, he called for the prophet Daniel finally, 00:27:58.25\00:28:01.19 he tried his prophets, but they didn't know, 00:28:01.22\00:28:03.46 but the prophet of God came in. And he said, 00:28:03.49\00:28:05.72 that dream that you saw outlines the history of 00:28:05.75\00:28:08.96 the world from the time of King Nebuchadnezzar 00:28:08.99\00:28:11.47 to the end of time. And he said, the head 00:28:11.50\00:28:13.81 of gold represented the Kingdom of Babylon, 00:28:13.84\00:28:15.91 I remember reading about that when I was 00:28:15.94\00:28:17.89 in school and then the arms of silver, 00:28:17.92\00:28:20.08 the Persian kingdom, Medo-Persia would come. 00:28:20.11\00:28:22.43 And the belly and thighs of bronze represented 00:28:22.46\00:28:25.49 the Kingdom of Greece, and then Greece would 00:28:25.52\00:28:28.05 fall to the Romans, and they were the legs of iron, 00:28:28.08\00:28:30.84 and the feet were mixed iron and mixed clay 00:28:30.87\00:28:34.17 that was when the Roman Empire fell apart 00:28:34.20\00:28:36.46 and got mixed up with religion and Romanism. 00:28:36.49\00:28:38.97 And the divided Empire Rome is where we're living 00:28:39.00\00:28:41.68 today. And then a stone comes and strikes the image 00:28:41.71\00:28:44.82 and destroys all the idols and false religions, 00:28:44.85\00:28:47.09 grows into a great mountain and fills the earth, 00:28:47.12\00:28:50.25 that's the second coming of Jesus. 00:28:50.28\00:28:52.06 Everything that Daniel said in the prophecy 00:28:52.09\00:28:54.97 happened in the history books, and he foretold 00:28:55.00\00:28:56.95 that long before it happen. The next thing to happen 00:28:56.98\00:29:00.03 is that stone, Jesus, the rock of ages coming, 00:29:00.06\00:29:02.42 we got a rock right here, and it's gonna come 00:29:03.76\00:29:05.35 down, and it's gonna hit this and it polarize 00:29:05.38\00:29:07.47 the image, it blows away and the rock goes 00:29:07.50\00:29:10.28 into a great mountain and it fills the whole earth. 00:29:10.31\00:29:12.83 God foretold that everything in the prophecy 00:29:12.86\00:29:16.02 happened so far, how many of you believe the 00:29:16.05\00:29:18.50 last part is gonna happen where Jesus comes? 00:29:18.53\00:29:20.24 I believe that too. Thank you, very much for your 00:29:20.27\00:29:24.24 help holding Ike for me. Alright, so the prophecies 00:29:24.27\00:29:29.58 do come true. What about science? Number four; 00:29:29.61\00:29:33.71 does science support the Bible that it's true? 00:29:33.74\00:29:37.91 I believe true science really does support 00:29:37.94\00:29:41.05 the Bible that it's not true, that for instance. 00:29:41.08\00:29:43.50 Let me give you some examples. You can read 00:29:43.53\00:29:46.18 in Job chapter 26, verse 7, "He hangs the earth 00:29:46.21\00:29:50.31 upon nothing." Long time ago, one of the first books 00:29:50.34\00:29:54.63 in the Bible was the Book of Job. When you look 00:29:54.66\00:29:57.35 at the Book of Job, first time I read it I thought it 00:29:57.38\00:29:59.05 said Job, because I didn't grow up reading the Bible, 00:29:59.08\00:30:01.56 it's spell J-O-B, but you don't call him job, 00:30:01.59\00:30:04.35 we call him Job. And the Book of Job says, 00:30:04.38\00:30:07.93 God hangs the earth on nothing. 00:30:07.96\00:30:09.59 Well, you know, back when Job wrote that many 00:30:09.62\00:30:12.78 of the nations of the world had all these strange 00:30:12.81\00:30:14.72 superstitions, they thought that the world rested 00:30:14.75\00:30:16.83 on the back of a giant tortoise, they thought 00:30:16.86\00:30:19.57 that the world rested on the shoulders of a man 00:30:19.60\00:30:22.02 named Atlas, they had all these superstitions, 00:30:22.05\00:30:24.59 but the Bible said, no the world hangs on nothing. 00:30:24.62\00:30:28.53 And when you look at a picture of earth in space, 00:30:28.56\00:30:32.22 the Bible knew that way back then that the world 00:30:32.25\00:30:35.32 hung on nothing, you could also look in 00:30:35.35\00:30:37.59 Isaiah chapter 40, verse 22, there it says, 00:30:37.62\00:30:41.61 "He sits above the circle of the earth." 00:30:41.64\00:30:44.86 Now, you remember the story of Christopher 00:30:46.07\00:30:47.40 Columbus. How many of you have read about 00:30:47.43\00:30:48.96 Christopher Columbus? Did some people think 00:30:48.99\00:30:51.29 that Christopher Columbus was a little bit crazy, 00:30:51.32\00:30:53.41 do you know, why? Because he said, 00:30:54.28\00:30:56.86 I believe that I can get from the east, 00:30:56.89\00:31:02.02 from the west to east by sailing west, 00:31:02.05\00:31:05.26 and he went and he said, the world is round. 00:31:05.29\00:31:07.91 They said, Oh! Everybody knows, science knows 00:31:07.94\00:31:10.36 the world is flat. If you sail too far, you're gonna 00:31:10.39\00:31:13.50 sail off this great big old water fall and dragons 00:31:13.53\00:31:15.97 will get you. They had all these superstitions 00:31:16.00\00:31:18.59 that the world was a big square flat place, 00:31:18.62\00:31:21.37 like a table. And the Bible said, a long time ago 00:31:21.40\00:31:27.18 that the earth was round and that it was a circle. 00:31:27.21\00:31:30.00 And so, all through the Bible you'll find out 00:31:30.03\00:31:32.88 that the, the science and the Bible is true. 00:31:32.91\00:31:35.58 You know, back in the Dark Ages. Some people 00:31:35.61\00:31:42.45 were very superstitious about cats. 00:31:42.48\00:31:44.43 And they got rid of all the cats, they said 00:31:44.46\00:31:46.47 cats are evil, they're with witches, 00:31:46.50\00:31:47.62 they're from the devil. And they started killing 00:31:47.65\00:31:49.66 all the cats in Europe, but do you know what 00:31:49.69\00:31:52.47 happened when there is no cats around who knows? 00:31:52.50\00:31:54.56 Mice. Mice and rats, and the mice and the rats 00:31:54.59\00:31:58.35 began to multiply spread everywhere and they 00:31:58.38\00:32:01.10 carried these little bitty fleas, bubonic disease 00:32:01.13\00:32:04.79 was on these fleas. And people got something 00:32:04.82\00:32:07.26 called the bubonic plague. And they all started 00:32:07.29\00:32:08.83 dying from this terrible sickness. 00:32:08.86\00:32:10.54 And they didn't know what to do to stop it. 00:32:10.57\00:32:13.35 Finally, some of the church leaders looked 00:32:13.38\00:32:14.97 in the Bible and they read what it said in the 00:32:15.00\00:32:17.67 Book of Leviticus about sanitation and containment. 00:32:17.70\00:32:21.46 And the science from the Bible is what finally 00:32:21.49\00:32:24.43 stopped the bubonic plague from spreading. 00:32:24.46\00:32:26.79 So, the Bible is full of very accurate science. 00:32:26.82\00:32:30.30 Let's go to question number five, does the 00:32:30.33\00:32:34.11 message in the Bible all fit together? 00:32:34.14\00:32:37.69 You know, it's amazing about the Bible is that, 00:32:37.72\00:32:41.46 it was written about 40 different authors, 00:32:41.49\00:32:44.02 but these were not just the average people. 00:32:44.05\00:32:46.42 You can read in Second Peter chapter 1, verse 21, 00:32:46.45\00:32:49.56 "Holy men of God spoke as they were moved by 00:32:49.59\00:32:54.01 the Holy Spirit." These Holy men were inspired 00:32:54.04\00:32:58.42 by the Holy Spirit. And they wrote what God 00:32:58.45\00:33:00.89 told them to write. And even though these men 00:33:00.92\00:33:04.31 wrote from so many times in history over a period 00:33:04.34\00:33:07.77 of 1,500 years. They lived on three different 00:33:07.80\00:33:11.21 continents. Some of them were poor shepherds 00:33:11.24\00:33:13.89 like King David, some of them were educated like 00:33:13.92\00:33:17.56 the Apostle Paul from all different backgrounds, 00:33:17.59\00:33:21.34 and yet when you read the Bible, the message is 00:33:21.37\00:33:24.41 all united. So, it's like someone one time the 00:33:24.44\00:33:27.05 Bible is many miracles. One miracles, it's Miraculous 00:33:27.08\00:33:30.86 in its Harmony, it's got the same consistent 00:33:30.89\00:33:33.86 message about God and his love for you. 00:33:33.89\00:33:36.13 The Bible is miraculous in his origin. 00:33:36.16\00:33:39.01 Do you know there is several times in history 00:33:39.04\00:33:41.08 that people have tried to destroy the Bible? 00:33:41.11\00:33:42.94 Some people have burned them, mountains of Bibles, 00:33:42.97\00:33:47.40 they burned them, they've tried to destroy 00:33:47.43\00:33:48.78 the scrolls, emperors of Rome and Kings of 00:33:48.81\00:33:51.69 Europe have tried to stamp out the Bible. 00:33:51.72\00:33:53.63 And yet God has preserved this book, 00:33:53.66\00:33:55.81 that's why we should be very careful to 00:33:55.84\00:33:58.32 respect the Bible. Let me stop right here 00:33:58.35\00:33:59.83 and say something. You know, when I'm doing 00:33:59.86\00:34:02.71 my program, you'll notice I never set anything 00:34:02.74\00:34:05.01 on my Bible, because the Bible is a Holy Book. 00:34:05.04\00:34:07.91 And in the Batchelor home, we, treat the 00:34:07.94\00:34:11.03 Bible with respect. We don't stuff it at the bottom 00:34:11.06\00:34:14.53 of a bunch of magazines and throw the TV guide 00:34:14.56\00:34:18.06 on top of it, something just doesn't sound right 00:34:18.09\00:34:19.77 about that, does it? We treat this Bible; 00:34:19.80\00:34:22.50 this is the most important sacred book in the world. 00:34:22.53\00:34:26.00 Remember those boys, when they found the scrolls 00:34:26.03\00:34:27.71 in the cave, they were worth millions. 00:34:27.74\00:34:30.03 I've been to the museum where they have got 00:34:30.06\00:34:32.06 the Dead Sea scrolls. And they've got this, 00:34:32.09\00:34:34.37 this great big three and a half foot concrete 00:34:34.40\00:34:37.77 iron reinforced vault over these scrolls, 00:34:37.80\00:34:41.77 it's protecting the Bible because it's the most 00:34:41.80\00:34:44.57 important treasures in Israel. So, we should 00:34:44.60\00:34:47.29 treat our Bibles respectfully. 00:34:47.32\00:34:48.55 When you turn the pages, you want to be careful 00:34:48.58\00:34:50.20 to turn them carefully. This is a sacred book; 00:34:50.23\00:34:52.88 'cause it's the voice of God to you and me. 00:34:52.91\00:34:54.82 The Bible is Miraculous in it's Accuracy. 00:34:54.85\00:34:58.45 It's amazing as you go from cover-to-cover 00:34:58.48\00:35:01.33 in the Bible that it never misdirects you. 00:35:01.36\00:35:04.47 You know, I got one of these little GPS's in my car, 00:35:04.50\00:35:08.43 and GPS is really great, but they are computers, 00:35:08.46\00:35:11.12 and sometimes computers are dumb. 00:35:11.15\00:35:12.67 And, and sometimes I'm following the GPS 00:35:12.70\00:35:15.95 and it's telling me to go somewhere, 00:35:15.98\00:35:17.30 but the GPS doesn't know that the road is 00:35:17.33\00:35:19.16 closed because of construction or stuff 00:35:19.19\00:35:22.13 like that and, and it doesn't know, 00:35:22.16\00:35:23.95 but God he knows everything all the time. 00:35:23.98\00:35:27.24 He doesn't, his computer never goes down, 00:35:27.27\00:35:29.06 does it? So, it's Miraculous in it's Message as well. 00:35:29.09\00:35:33.40 The message of the Bible is about God's love for 00:35:33.43\00:35:36.66 you and how he came to save us from our sins, 00:35:36.69\00:35:40.58 to give us new hearts, to transform us to be like 00:35:40.61\00:35:44.13 his son. The miracles in the Bible are true; 00:35:44.16\00:35:47.35 it's the most powerful book in the world. 00:35:47.38\00:35:50.27 And I'm gonna be telling you a little bit 00:35:50.30\00:35:52.20 tomorrow night about how you can use the 00:35:52.23\00:35:54.06 power of the Bible, by reading it, and by 00:35:54.09\00:35:56.48 memorizing the scripture. I want to encourage 00:35:56.51\00:35:58.83 you every night to remember some of the Bible. 00:35:58.86\00:36:01.56 Who remembers, what verse did we read tonight 00:36:01.59\00:36:04.53 as our opening scripture? Our memory verse, 00:36:04.56\00:36:08.18 I know that he read it, no you're cheating, 00:36:09.25\00:36:11.07 you read it, you know, it. Someone else, 00:36:11.10\00:36:13.49 you know what it was? "Thy word is a lamp unto 00:36:13.52\00:36:18.79 my feet. And a light unto my path." 00:36:18.82\00:36:21.28 Psalms 119, verse 105. Could you say that 00:36:21.31\00:36:24.94 with me? "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet. 00:36:24.97\00:36:29.15 And a light unto my path." Psalms 119, 00:36:29.18\00:36:33.45 verse 105. That is a very important verse for you 00:36:33.48\00:36:37.45 to remember because God's word is gonna guide you. 00:36:37.48\00:36:39.57 Number six, still in our lesson. What is one of 00:36:39.60\00:36:43.61 the greatest proofs that the Bible is true? 00:36:43.64\00:36:46.86 What's some of the most powerful evidence that 00:36:46.89\00:36:49.01 we can trust the Bible? In Second Corinthians 00:36:49.04\00:36:52.08 chapter 5 verse 17 it says, "Therefore, if 00:36:52.11\00:36:55.66 anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation." 00:36:55.69\00:36:59.64 He becomes a new creature. "Old things 00:36:59.67\00:37:02.95 have passed away; all things have become new." 00:37:02.98\00:37:06.10 God makes us new creatures, you know, 00:37:06.13\00:37:08.57 the greatest evidence of the Bible is how the 00:37:08.60\00:37:10.53 Lord changes lives. You know one reason that 00:37:10.56\00:37:13.95 I'm sharing this seminar with you and this is so 00:37:13.98\00:37:16.25 important to me, and this topic tonight is so 00:37:16.28\00:37:18.62 important to me is when I grew up, my mom 00:37:18.65\00:37:22.43 and my dad they didn't take me to church, 00:37:22.46\00:37:25.50 I know very little about the Bible. And I got into 00:37:25.53\00:37:29.91 lots of trouble because I didn't have the map, 00:37:29.94\00:37:31.98 and when you don't have the map, 00:37:32.01\00:37:33.55 when you don't have a GPS, what happens? 00:37:33.58\00:37:35.38 You get lost. You get lost, can you find the 00:37:35.41\00:37:37.64 treasure? No. No, when I was finding everything 00:37:37.67\00:37:40.42 but the treasure. Matter of fact, here is a little 00:37:40.45\00:37:42.78 picture I grabbed a picture today of me, 00:37:42.81\00:37:44.58 is when I went to military school, when I was about 00:37:44.61\00:37:47.30 12 years old, about the age of you folks, 00:37:47.33\00:37:50.00 anyone here 12 years old? Let me see your hands, 00:37:50.03\00:37:52.35 yeah we got a lot of 12 year-olds here. 00:37:52.38\00:37:54.38 And I, do you know, I went to 14 different schools 00:37:54.41\00:37:58.40 growing up. Lot of the reason was because 00:37:58.43\00:38:03.33 I was getting in trouble, my parents moved 00:38:03.36\00:38:05.01 a little bit, but I went to school in Maine, 00:38:05.04\00:38:07.71 I went to school in California, 00:38:07.74\00:38:09.54 I went to school in New York, 00:38:09.57\00:38:11.06 I went to school in Florida, I went to 00:38:11.09\00:38:12.88 school in Europe, plus various public schools 00:38:12.91\00:38:16.37 and Catholic schools and Jewish schools, 00:38:16.40\00:38:19.19 and I was all mixed up, life didn't have any 00:38:19.22\00:38:21.79 purpose for me. I didn't know about Jesus and 00:38:21.82\00:38:24.56 his love. And so I thought like a lot of people in the 00:38:24.59\00:38:27.66 world, you live a little while. And then you die, 00:38:27.69\00:38:31.53 and I believed in evolution. And then 00:38:31.56\00:38:34.35 you just turn into fertilizer when you die. 00:38:34.38\00:38:36.74 And I thought you know, life doesn't bring very 00:38:36.77\00:38:39.58 much happiness, what's the purpose of life? 00:38:39.61\00:38:41.39 So, I got in lots of trouble. Now, my father was 00:38:41.42\00:38:45.74 a very wealthy man that owned two airliners, 00:38:45.77\00:38:49.26 he lived on an island in Miami Beach. 00:38:49.29\00:38:51.84 We had a butler and a maid, dad had a private Learjet, 00:38:52.98\00:38:56.55 drove Rolls Royce, had a lot of money, 00:38:56.58\00:38:59.51 but he wasn't very happy. Every night he had to 00:38:59.54\00:39:02.36 drink alcohol to go to sleep very unhappy. 00:39:02.39\00:39:04.84 He didn't have God in his life. My mother thought 00:39:04.87\00:39:08.02 happiness came from being famous. 00:39:08.05\00:39:09.65 So, she was an actress, she was in movies, 00:39:09.68\00:39:13.18 she was a film critic, she wrote songs for people 00:39:13.21\00:39:16.54 like Andy Williams and Frank Sinatra, 00:39:16.57\00:39:18.87 and Elvis Presley. And I don't know, 00:39:18.90\00:39:20.11 if you know any of those people, I'm getting old. 00:39:20.14\00:39:22.82 But she was the president of the film critics in 00:39:22.85\00:39:26.78 Beverly Hills, and knew all these famous people 00:39:26.81\00:39:28.92 that came to our houses, but they weren't very 00:39:28.95\00:39:31.69 happy. I know some of them who are child actress 00:39:31.72\00:39:34.60 and everybody knew who they were, 00:39:34.63\00:39:36.20 and they killed themselves, rich, beautiful, smart, 00:39:36.23\00:39:40.15 but without God they got lost. And they didn't want 00:39:40.18\00:39:44.39 live anymore. And I used to think if there is no God, 00:39:44.42\00:39:47.32 there is really no purpose in life. And so, 00:39:47.35\00:39:50.25 when I lived in New York city, sometimes 00:39:50.28\00:39:52.67 I like climb up to the top of these tall 00:39:52.70\00:39:54.85 apartment buildings. And I used to think all 00:39:54.88\00:39:56.96 of those people running around like ants down 00:39:56.99\00:39:58.75 there. They have no purpose in life, 00:39:58.78\00:40:00.64 why don't I just jump and kill myself? Amen. 00:40:00.67\00:40:04.40 I did, I used to think about that. 00:40:04.43\00:40:06.14 My dad was so busy with his work and my mom 00:40:06.17\00:40:08.87 was so busy with her career, they didn't seem 00:40:08.90\00:40:10.57 to have time for me, and I thought I don't even 00:40:10.60\00:40:12.55 want to live. And so, I used to go to the top of 00:40:12.58\00:40:15.77 these apartment buildings and I put my toe over 00:40:15.80\00:40:17.45 the edge and I look down 20 storeys. 00:40:17.48\00:40:19.43 And I go like this, and see how far out 00:40:19.46\00:40:22.36 I could go like I'm doing right now. 00:40:22.39\00:40:24.00 Until I felt my center of gravity 00:40:24.03\00:40:26.13 and I stopped myself. And you know, 00:40:26.16\00:40:28.06 afraid of, I didn't jump because I thought, 00:40:28.09\00:40:30.14 what if I jump and I live through it, 00:40:30.17\00:40:32.71 and I'm all broken up and sick, 00:40:32.74\00:40:34.49 I didn't wanna do that. And sometimes 00:40:34.52\00:40:37.78 I used to think, well maybe if I just took pills; 00:40:37.81\00:40:39.93 I just take a whole lot of pills and go to sleep 00:40:39.96\00:40:41.71 and never wake up nobody will know. 00:40:41.74\00:40:43.52 Now, let me tell you something. 00:40:43.55\00:40:45.12 You know what they called that? Suicide, 00:40:45.15\00:40:48.04 that's really murder; it's when you murder yourself. 00:40:48.07\00:40:50.92 Is murder a sin? Yes. Yeah, murdering yourself 00:40:52.03\00:40:56.44 is a sin too. Did you make yourself? 00:40:56.47\00:40:59.05 You were created by God, you are his property. 00:40:59.08\00:41:01.85 And some people kill themselves because 00:41:01.88\00:41:03.97 they think; I just want my problems to go away. 00:41:04.00\00:41:06.51 So they kill themselves, but think about this, 00:41:06.54\00:41:08.99 if a person dies and they're lost. 00:41:09.02\00:41:11.77 What's the first thing they know after they die? 00:41:11.80\00:41:14.97 They wake up and they're facing a lake of fire, 00:41:15.00\00:41:19.06 that's not very good, does that solve their 00:41:19.09\00:41:21.40 problems or do their problems get worse. 00:41:21.43\00:41:23.34 When you're alive there's hope. And so don't ever 00:41:23.37\00:41:27.81 get so discourage you think about something crazy like 00:41:27.84\00:41:29.57 that, that's what the devil wants you to do. 00:41:29.60\00:41:32.19 So, I finally thought you know, I'm not gonna 00:41:32.22\00:41:35.16 take pills and I'm not gonna jump, 00:41:35.19\00:41:36.72 I'm just gonna try and have as much fun as 00:41:36.75\00:41:38.41 I can before I die. So, I started getting into all 00:41:38.44\00:41:41.80 kinds of trouble, I started drinking, 00:41:41.83\00:41:43.62 when as I with my dad I drink, and then 00:41:43.65\00:41:46.26 I started using alcohol and I started taking drugs 00:41:46.29\00:41:49.81 and smoking pot. And when I live with mom, 00:41:49.84\00:41:52.44 a lot of the people in Hollywood use drugs. 00:41:52.47\00:41:54.29 And I was using drugs and I was getting into 00:41:54.32\00:41:56.86 trouble. First time I ran away from home I was 00:41:56.89\00:41:59.40 13 years old. I want to just go live in the mountains, 00:41:59.43\00:42:03.06 I got arrested, I was in jail several times 00:42:03.09\00:42:06.25 and big trouble by that time I was 15 years old, 00:42:06.28\00:42:10.09 I left home for the last time. And I was living 00:42:10.12\00:42:14.75 in Boston, I, by the time I was 16 I had a 00:42:14.78\00:42:18.20 drivers license that said I was 18 years old, 00:42:18.23\00:42:21.52 I was working as a security guard. 00:42:21.55\00:42:23.19 And at night I was breaking into homes and stealing. 00:42:23.22\00:42:26.48 So, here I had a job guarding places during 00:42:26.51\00:42:29.29 the night actually it was guarding things at night, 00:42:29.32\00:42:31.69 and I was stealing during the day. 00:42:31.72\00:42:33.08 And I just wasn't very happy, and I used all 00:42:33.11\00:42:35.87 my money on drugs. And my father came to visit me, 00:42:35.90\00:42:40.70 and he said Doug. He said, why don't you go to 00:42:40.73\00:42:43.90 this special school, I found a school, 00:42:43.93\00:42:45.50 lots of adventure, it's on a boat, it sails around 00:42:45.53\00:42:48.16 the world. And that sounded pretty exciting, 00:42:48.19\00:42:51.09 I've always wanted adventure. 00:42:51.12\00:42:52.66 So, my dad flew me from Boston, I was 16 to Europe 00:42:52.69\00:42:56.30 and I went to school that was on a sailboard. 00:42:56.33\00:42:59.07 And there's a bunch of boys and girls on this boat. 00:42:59.10\00:43:02.63 And it was like a high school and they sailed around 00:43:02.66\00:43:04.40 the world, but then I found that he sort of 00:43:04.43\00:43:06.74 tricked me, the boat was something like a prison, 00:43:06.77\00:43:08.68 and they take away your passport and they didn't 00:43:08.71\00:43:11.24 let you go anywhere and, and I and most of the 00:43:11.27\00:43:14.72 people on the boat didn't believe in God. 00:43:14.75\00:43:16.40 And I was thinking you know, it's just no purpose 00:43:16.43\00:43:20.79 in life and this didn't seem like much fun, 00:43:20.82\00:43:22.62 but I noticed something. One day we were sailing 00:43:22.65\00:43:26.10 from Northern Africa over to Spain, 00:43:26.13\00:43:29.82 it was winter time. And during that trip 00:43:29.85\00:43:32.98 we got into a serious storm out on the ocean. 00:43:33.01\00:43:35.92 And the boat was rocking back and forth 00:43:35.95\00:43:38.92 in the waves were like 25 to 30 just great big 00:43:38.95\00:43:42.56 old waves and a lot of waves were washing 00:43:42.59\00:43:44.87 over the front of the boat. And things were getting 00:43:44.90\00:43:46.61 washed over board and water was very cold cause 00:43:46.64\00:43:49.44 it was around Christmas time. And the captain said 00:43:49.47\00:43:52.05 if you fall overboard, we're not even gonna 00:43:52.08\00:43:54.52 turn the boat around because we will never 00:43:54.55\00:43:55.84 find you. And all of the people on the boat 00:43:55.87\00:43:58.93 said that they were atheists. Until they got 00:43:58.96\00:44:02.99 in the storm and they thought they were gonna die, 00:44:03.02\00:44:04.81 what do you think they started doing, 00:44:04.84\00:44:05.98 when they thought they were gonna die? 00:44:06.01\00:44:07.47 Praying. They started praying, and they started 00:44:07.50\00:44:11.02 making promises to God. Oh! Lord if you will 00:44:11.05\00:44:13.42 just save me; help me get through this storm. 00:44:13.45\00:44:15.82 And of course we survived the storm; 00:44:15.85\00:44:18.55 I wouldn't be here to tell you, were they? 00:44:18.58\00:44:20.12 But God doesn't want us to serve him 00:44:20.15\00:44:22.98 because we're afraid. Well, I was soon as 00:44:23.01\00:44:25.85 I got home for Christmas vacation, 00:44:25.88\00:44:27.58 I ran away for the last time. 00:44:27.61\00:44:29.17 Now, I thought there must be a God, 00:44:29.20\00:44:31.92 too many amazing things happened. 00:44:31.95\00:44:33.73 One quick story I'll tell you. I was hitchhiking 00:44:33.76\00:44:37.47 you know you get on the road and you beg 00:44:37.50\00:44:38.85 for a ride. I was hitchhiking from Florida 00:44:38.88\00:44:42.34 to California like 4000 miles. I got stuck it's 00:44:42.37\00:44:47.76 still Christmas time in Oklahoma, freezing cold 00:44:47.79\00:44:50.38 weather. I stood on the road for hours begging 00:44:50.41\00:44:53.37 for ride, nobody would pick me up. I got hungry, 00:44:53.40\00:44:56.77 I was a little bit sick because I had been 00:44:56.80\00:44:58.57 drinking the night before, alcohol can make you sick. 00:44:58.60\00:45:01.24 And I prayed, and I didn't grow up really knowing 00:45:01.27\00:45:05.12 how to pray. And I prayed, the Lord I believe that 00:45:05.15\00:45:07.72 there is a God there because I saw so many amazing 00:45:07.75\00:45:10.08 things happen. I said, will you please help me 00:45:10.11\00:45:13.00 and I prayed that God would give me four things, 00:45:13.03\00:45:16.47 I said please help me get some money, 00:45:16.50\00:45:18.48 I had no money. Help me get a ride to California, 00:45:18.51\00:45:22.24 had 2000 miles still to go. I said, Lord please help 00:45:22.27\00:45:25.88 me get some food I was hungry. And then I prayed 00:45:25.91\00:45:28.75 God please help me get a ride with somebody normal, 00:45:28.78\00:45:31.07 because I was getting picked up by very strange 00:45:31.10\00:45:33.11 people. As soon as I finished praying, a van stopped 00:45:33.14\00:45:38.80 and pick me up; the man took me 2000 miles right 00:45:38.83\00:45:43.33 to the door of where I was going. He fed me all the 00:45:43.36\00:45:47.93 way out to California, I didn't ask him to. 00:45:47.96\00:45:50.34 He gave me $40, when he drop me off that 00:45:50.37\00:45:53.22 I didn't asked for, something I didn't ask for, 00:45:53.25\00:45:55.98 I didn't ask him to preach to me, all the way from 00:45:56.01\00:45:58.27 Oklahoma to California. He was a Christian, 00:45:58.30\00:46:01.18 and he was telling me all about the Bible, 00:46:01.21\00:46:03.42 I thought, Oh! Bible is a fairytale, I mean 00:46:03.45\00:46:05.18 I believe in all these different new age religions 00:46:05.21\00:46:07.07 and reincarnation and, and he's telling me about 00:46:07.10\00:46:10.01 the Bible. And I had to listen to him. Or jump out, 00:46:10.04\00:46:12.97 and then I said I'm gonna try and find God 00:46:14.99\00:46:16.72 through nature. And I moved up into the mountains 00:46:16.75\00:46:19.42 and I moved into a cave. And I lived like a hermit 00:46:19.45\00:46:23.14 for about year and a half up there in that cave. 00:46:23.17\00:46:24.85 And I never even wore clothes because it was a 00:46:24.88\00:46:27.57 hot desert in the mountain and I thought 00:46:27.60\00:46:29.22 I'm gonna be natural. And one of the miracles 00:46:29.25\00:46:32.48 is once or twice a week I'd come to town 00:46:32.51\00:46:34.64 and I beg for money. One of the miracles was that 00:46:34.67\00:46:38.20 somebody had left a Bible in the cave. 00:46:38.23\00:46:40.53 And I stared to read the Bible and it changed my life. 00:46:40.56\00:46:44.61 And even though I was living like a hermit back 00:46:44.64\00:46:47.93 then, now I'm going around the world, 00:46:47.96\00:46:49.25 telling people about Jesus. The Bible became the 00:46:49.28\00:46:52.18 map to truth for me, and God has a big plan 00:46:52.21\00:46:55.22 for your life too. Now, I took a lot of time 00:46:55.25\00:46:57.19 telling you my story, but I wanted you to know, 00:46:57.22\00:46:58.96 why the Bible is so important. 00:46:58.99\00:47:00.48 Question number seven, when we accept the 00:47:00.51\00:47:03.02 Bible as God's Word, can we know things that 00:47:03.05\00:47:05.98 others are still searching for? Oh! Yes, he can. 00:47:06.01\00:47:08.86 It says, in Psalm 119 verse 100, 00:47:08.89\00:47:11.85 "I understand more than the ancients, 00:47:11.88\00:47:14.56 because I keep your precepts." 00:47:14.59\00:47:16.67 When you keep the commandments of God 00:47:16.70\00:47:17.98 you are wiser than the ancients. 00:47:18.01\00:47:19.44 And again your commandments have 00:47:19.47\00:47:22.21 made me wiser than my enemies, for they 00:47:22.24\00:47:24.81 are ever with me. God's word will make you wise. 00:47:24.84\00:47:27.87 See the word of God is a weapon that 00:47:27.90\00:47:29.65 we can use to fight against the enemy. 00:47:29.68\00:47:32.31 It's like a sword, it's like a shield, see we got 00:47:32.34\00:47:35.79 a sword up here right under the Bible because 00:47:35.82\00:47:37.82 the Bible says that the word of God is quick 00:47:37.85\00:47:39.63 and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword. 00:47:39.66\00:47:42.28 Whenever Jesus was tempted by the devil, 00:47:42.31\00:47:44.32 what did he do? He quoted the Bible. 00:47:44.35\00:47:46.88 You know, I heard a story we're not too far away 00:47:48.36\00:47:49.91 from Houston. And you probably heard of Sam 00:47:49.94\00:47:53.43 Houston. Well, he had a son Sam Houston Junior. 00:47:53.46\00:47:56.06 And something amazing happened one time. 00:47:56.09\00:47:59.73 He was in the Battle of Shiloh, and during the 00:47:59.76\00:48:03.56 midst of the battle he got shocked by a bullet, 00:48:03.59\00:48:06.23 got knocked down, and when he picked himself up 00:48:06.26\00:48:09.36 and he recovered, he realized that the bullet 00:48:09.39\00:48:11.65 hit his backpack, and when he finally got out of 00:48:11.68\00:48:14.50 that midst of the battle he pulled out his backpack 00:48:14.53\00:48:17.13 and he found that there was his Mother's Bible 00:48:17.16\00:48:19.13 that was in his backpack is what the bullet hit. 00:48:19.16\00:48:21.67 And you know, inside that Bible, the bullet stopped 00:48:21.70\00:48:25.26 right on the verse, it said the word of God is like 00:48:25.29\00:48:27.73 my shield and my protection, that's right 00:48:27.76\00:48:30.52 where the bullet stopped. God's word will be a shield 00:48:30.55\00:48:33.58 for you. It's a sword, it's like Jesus used to protect 00:48:33.61\00:48:36.39 him from temptation, it will protect you. 00:48:36.42\00:48:38.79 See Jesus is like the Bible. Bible says Jesus is bread 00:48:38.82\00:48:44.40 and the Bible is bread. Jesus is the light of world; 00:48:44.43\00:48:48.98 the Bible is the lamp and light unto my feet. 00:48:49.01\00:48:51.47 The Bible tells us that the word of God is eternal, 00:48:51.50\00:48:54.94 it says, Jesus is eternal. Everything you find out 00:48:54.97\00:48:58.70 about the word, you'll also find is true about Jesus. 00:48:58.73\00:49:01.36 So, when you read the Bible? Jesus is the word, 00:49:01.39\00:49:04.62 you're getting to know him, the son of God 00:49:04.65\00:49:08.62 and he wants a personal relationship with you. 00:49:08.65\00:49:10.57 So, how can we understand the Bible? 00:49:10.60\00:49:13.19 We got to read it. Taste and see that the Lord 00:49:13.22\00:49:17.51 is good. I'm just wondering, how many of you know 00:49:17.54\00:49:20.18 how to read? What's the most important thing 00:49:20.21\00:49:23.84 you should read? The Bible. Bible. It's the map 00:49:23.87\00:49:27.39 to the treasure, to heaven, everyday 00:49:27.42\00:49:29.37 we should read the Bible; it will completely 00:49:29.40\00:49:31.84 change your life. You know there is an amazing 00:49:31.87\00:49:34.78 story in history, some of you have probably 00:49:34.81\00:49:36.75 heard this story about the Mutiny on the Bounty. 00:49:36.78\00:49:39.14 Back in 1779, there was an English ship called the 00:49:39.17\00:49:45.72 Bounty. The captain was a very difficult man named 00:49:45.75\00:49:48.57 Captain William Bligh, and his crew got so tired 00:49:48.60\00:49:51.14 of him they Mutinied. They put him and some 00:49:51.17\00:49:53.83 of the officers into a boat and pushed them away, 00:49:53.86\00:49:56.51 but then they knew they would have the entire 00:49:56.54\00:49:58.62 British Navy looking for them trying to hunt them 00:49:58.65\00:50:01.60 down. And so they said, well we better hide 00:50:01.63\00:50:04.90 and where in the world are we gonna hide, 00:50:04.93\00:50:06.83 so that the British Navy is not gonna find us, 00:50:06.86\00:50:09.14 because if you mutinied, do you know what they 00:50:09.17\00:50:10.81 did to you? They'd hang you till you were dead. 00:50:10.84\00:50:14.40 Mutiny they didn't fool around with that. 00:50:14.43\00:50:16.90 It's amazing the Captain Bligh, he went 3000 miles 00:50:16.93\00:50:20.61 with his officers, he was a good sailor, 00:50:20.64\00:50:22.27 he went 3000 miles in that little life boat with 00:50:22.30\00:50:24.98 his officers and they lost one man, but they, 00:50:25.01\00:50:28.54 the rest of them all survived, but Fletcher 00:50:28.57\00:50:32.76 Christian, the leader of the Mutineers, 00:50:32.79\00:50:35.07 they went back to the Island of Tahiti 00:50:35.10\00:50:37.71 and there in the Island of Tahiti, they, they 00:50:37.74\00:50:41.06 some of the men off and they got eleven women, 00:50:41.09\00:50:43.73 'cause they thought we're gonna have to just go 00:50:43.76\00:50:44.82 find somewhere to hide from the rest of the world. 00:50:44.85\00:50:47.22 And they got about six Polynesian men, 00:50:48.25\00:50:51.34 and the other eight Mutineers they took the Bounty, 00:50:51.37\00:50:55.28 and Fletcher Christian was looking through Captain 00:50:55.31\00:50:57.91 Bligh's logbook, and he saw that where 00:50:57.94\00:51:00.98 Captain Cook had one time made a note on one 00:51:01.01\00:51:04.12 of these voyages that there was an island called 00:51:04.15\00:51:06.05 Pitcairn that had a water on it, that had a harbor 00:51:06.08\00:51:09.60 on it, it had some vegetation and food, 00:51:09.63\00:51:12.32 and that's all it said. You know, it was out the 00:51:12.35\00:51:14.42 middle of nowhere. And they thought we'll go hide 00:51:14.45\00:51:18.07 on this island, there is water, there is food, 00:51:18.10\00:51:21.12 we got men and women, it'll be like the Garden 00:51:21.15\00:51:23.13 of Eden we'll make a paradise, but you know 00:51:23.16\00:51:26.11 what happened? Those sailors they didn't have 00:51:26.14\00:51:28.87 the Lord in their lives, and they got on that island, 00:51:28.90\00:51:32.06 and they burned the ship, they took everything 00:51:32.09\00:51:33.71 off the ship, they could keep, they burned it. 00:51:33.74\00:51:35.64 So, that the Navy would not sail by and find them. 00:51:35.67\00:51:37.64 They thought we can hide here , we've got our 00:51:37.67\00:51:39.96 Garden of Eden, our paradise, but you know 00:51:39.99\00:51:43.13 what happened? They didn't have the Lord, 00:51:43.16\00:51:45.80 they all started to fight, and they got jealous, 00:51:45.83\00:51:48.88 and the men and women started to fight, 00:51:48.91\00:51:50.43 men were fighting for other men's wives 00:51:50.46\00:51:52.56 and one of men learned how to make alcohol out 00:51:52.59\00:51:54.74 of the some of the plants on the island, 00:51:54.77\00:51:56.17 they began to drink, pretty soon they began to kill 00:51:56.20\00:51:58.32 each other. And the men all began to fight, 00:51:58.35\00:52:01.38 and argue and kill each other until pretty soon, 00:52:01.41\00:52:03.98 there was one man left, and his name was Adams. 00:52:04.01\00:52:09.35 John Adams and he thought what's become of us. 00:52:09.38\00:52:13.60 This was supposed to be a paradise; 00:52:13.63\00:52:14.82 we're all killing ourselves off at this point now. 00:52:14.85\00:52:16.74 He's got 11 women and 23 children and him. 00:52:16.77\00:52:20.64 He was digging through the chest of Captain Bligh, 00:52:22.23\00:52:26.14 in the bottom of the chest there was a Bible, 00:52:26.17\00:52:28.87 they noticed it before, but they never looked at it. 00:52:28.90\00:52:30.80 And he pulled it out and they all began to read the 00:52:30.83\00:52:33.90 Bible. And he began to teach the women and 00:52:33.93\00:52:36.15 the children to read the Bible. And they all learned 00:52:36.18\00:52:39.12 about the truths in the Bible pretty soon they all 00:52:39.15\00:52:41.46 began to get along and they was harmony, 00:52:41.49\00:52:43.34 and they were praying, and they were trusting God. 00:52:43.37\00:52:45.37 About nine years after they've landed on the island 00:52:45.40\00:52:48.45 they were discovered by a whaling vessel, 00:52:48.48\00:52:50.59 and when the captain of the whaling vessel went 00:52:50.62\00:52:53.14 on the Island of Pitcairn, he said I met all these 00:52:53.17\00:52:56.53 people that spoke kind of an English gibberish, 00:52:56.56\00:52:59.23 and they were also loving and they were so happy, 00:52:59.26\00:53:02.85 and they were so kind, he said, I have never seen 00:53:02.88\00:53:04.96 such a pious group of people. They not only prayed 00:53:04.99\00:53:08.68 before they ate, they prayed after they ate. 00:53:08.71\00:53:11.23 And they realized that without God they could 00:53:12.45\00:53:14.59 never have happiness. Now, there's a lot of things 00:53:14.62\00:53:17.73 that you could read, there's a lot of programs 00:53:17.76\00:53:19.45 that you could watch, and some of you, 00:53:19.48\00:53:21.15 you have your little computer games. 00:53:21.18\00:53:23.16 There's a lot of things you can do with your 00:53:23.19\00:53:24.93 time where you can waste your life. 00:53:24.96\00:53:26.72 And never learn about God. And you won't find 00:53:26.75\00:53:30.17 real happiness. You know, what the real treasure is? 00:53:30.20\00:53:32.85 The treasure is to be learning about Jesus, 00:53:32.88\00:53:35.91 so that you can have everlasting life. 00:53:35.94\00:53:37.82 During these series of meetings we are gonna 00:53:37.85\00:53:40.87 tell you how you can find the treasure. 00:53:40.90\00:53:42.93 You know, years ago, when they used to sell these 00:53:42.96\00:53:48.23 treasure maps, most of the treasures maps 00:53:48.26\00:53:51.54 were frauds. And a lot of people would, 00:53:51.57\00:53:55.16 these sailors would make money they'd say, 00:53:55.19\00:53:57.05 you know, I was on the ship, and the captain 00:53:57.08\00:53:58.86 of the ship he buried a treasure and here's a map. 00:53:58.89\00:54:01.48 And if you follow this, I will sell you this map, 00:54:01.51\00:54:04.05 you'll find the treasure and some people would 00:54:04.08\00:54:06.93 pay money. Even today people pay for phony 00:54:06.96\00:54:09.51 treasure maps, but you know there were a few 00:54:09.54\00:54:13.42 real treasure maps, I heard some stories about 00:54:13.45\00:54:17.11 treasure hunters that found maps where ships went 00:54:17.14\00:54:19.92 down during a hurricane off the Florida Keys 00:54:19.95\00:54:23.03 and they found mountains of gold. 00:54:23.06\00:54:25.23 Another ship off the Coast of California, 00:54:25.26\00:54:28.12 another one by South America went down loaded 00:54:28.15\00:54:30.73 with gold.
