That was so beautiful. 00:07:01.98\00:07:04.19 - Tim, wasn't that Chopin? - Yes it was. 00:07:04.35\00:07:06.76 I've never lyrics put to that song before. 00:07:06.79\00:07:10.33 - And how appropriate. - Yeah, it's beautiful. 00:07:10.36\00:07:12.83 I always wanted to play classical music as a child. 00:07:12.86\00:07:15.76 You know, country music was my dad's favorite, 00:07:15.86\00:07:18.33 and so he was my influence. 00:07:18.37\00:07:19.93 So we listened to what he wanted to listen to in the house. 00:07:19.97\00:07:22.44 So, Chopin, that's a stretch for me. 00:07:22.47\00:07:25.94 But I love playing that, and love those lyrics. 00:07:25.97\00:07:28.38 It tells the story. 00:07:28.41\00:07:29.74 ~ So beautiful, so beautiful. 00:07:29.78\00:07:31.11 You know, Tim, a lot of people, I'm sure, have watched you 00:07:31.15\00:07:34.68 over the years on 3ABN. 00:07:34.72\00:07:36.12 Because you've just, you're part of our family here. 00:07:36.15\00:07:38.85 And we have to kind of be careful, because we assume 00:07:39.25\00:07:43.56 that everybody know you because you've been on for so long. 00:07:43.59\00:07:45.59 But some people don't know who you are, or how you grew up, 00:07:45.63\00:07:49.56 or anything, so let's just give them a little background. 00:07:49.60\00:07:52.27 Where did you grow up? 00:07:52.47\00:07:53.80 I was born and raised in Kansas City, 00:07:53.84\00:07:55.57 north Kansas City, Missouri. 00:07:55.60\00:07:57.11 And I was born into a singing family. 00:07:57.41\00:07:59.54 My mother prayed for a piano player, actually. 00:07:59.57\00:08:02.28 Because they didn't, my dad played the guitar, 00:08:02.31\00:08:05.01 but didn't have a pianist. 00:08:05.05\00:08:06.38 So she prayed for a piano player. 00:08:06.41\00:08:08.08 So I was kind of doomed, you could say, 00:08:08.12\00:08:12.09 because you can't outrun a mother's prayer. 00:08:12.32\00:08:14.19 ~ That's right, that's right. 00:08:14.22\00:08:15.56 So honestly, no, it was a... 00:08:15.59\00:08:16.93 I'm very blessed to play the piano by ear. 00:08:16.96\00:08:19.59 I had all those years growing up to play, 00:08:19.69\00:08:22.63 and have continued to play professionally. 00:08:22.66\00:08:25.43 And just have been very blessed. 00:08:25.47\00:08:27.20 God has opened many doors. 00:08:27.24\00:08:28.74 And being a part of the 3ABN family has been 00:08:28.77\00:08:31.51 just wonderful to be able to, not only play 00:08:31.71\00:08:34.81 here in the United States, but internationally, 00:08:35.54\00:08:38.95 to be able to go around the world. 00:08:38.98\00:08:40.32 ~ We've gone to Russia. 00:08:40.35\00:08:41.68 We've just gone to all these different places. 00:08:41.72\00:08:43.05 What a blessing it is. 00:08:43.08\00:08:44.42 So when you were growing up, Tim, 00:08:44.45\00:08:46.39 you grew up in a musical family, just play a little something 00:08:46.42\00:08:50.43 of how you used to play. 00:08:50.46\00:08:51.99 Your first song, can you remember your first song? 00:08:52.03\00:08:55.20 ~ I don't remember that. 00:08:55.23\00:08:56.90 I really don't. 00:08:57.37\00:08:59.33 My dad would always say that I play as well now 00:08:59.73\00:09:04.21 as I used to play then. 00:09:04.24\00:09:05.57 But I think he's way partial. 00:09:05.61\00:09:07.14 Or he was hard of hearing maybe. 00:09:07.18\00:09:09.78 But, no I don't remember how I played. 00:09:09.81\00:09:13.31 But I remember when I was 14, that my parents bought me a 00:09:13.52\00:09:19.92 little baby grand piano. 00:09:19.95\00:09:21.92 And you know when you get a new toothbrush, 00:09:22.09\00:09:25.59 how clean your teeth feel. 00:09:25.83\00:09:27.80 That's maybe not a great analogy. 00:09:28.36\00:09:30.17 But I remember advancing amazingly because I had this 00:09:30.20\00:09:35.07 great instrument to practice on. 00:09:35.10\00:09:36.81 So that was a great memory of seeing like a milestone 00:09:37.01\00:09:41.88 or watermark of where I can go back 00:09:41.91\00:09:43.65 and say, "Hey, I know that..." 00:09:43.68\00:09:45.01 So I always encourage people to get the best instrument 00:09:45.51\00:09:49.48 that you can practice on. 00:09:49.52\00:09:50.99 - So, you know... ~ I think that's a good point. 00:09:51.55\00:09:53.76 ~ Because sometimes you get rinky-dink instruments 00:09:53.79\00:09:56.32 and the child won't really progress. 00:09:56.36\00:09:58.56 ~ You know, and today if I play on something that 00:09:58.59\00:10:00.70 is out of tune, I get so discouraged because I feel like, 00:10:00.73\00:10:04.00 "Uugh, I don't sound good." 00:10:04.03\00:10:06.17 And it's the instruments fault, you know. 00:10:06.37\00:10:07.87 It's nice to have the instrument to blame it on. 00:10:07.90\00:10:09.60 We all want that. 00:10:09.64\00:10:10.97 ~ But yeah, it's always nice to have a great instrument. 00:10:11.01\00:10:13.84 What would you say would be one of your 00:10:15.68\00:10:17.71 favorite Christmas memories? 00:10:17.75\00:10:19.71 When you think about Christmas growing up, 00:10:19.75\00:10:22.18 what would you say is one of your favorites? 00:10:22.22\00:10:24.35 ~ My mom was a seamstress. 00:10:24.39\00:10:25.99 And so, every Christmas when I was a child, 00:10:26.19\00:10:29.72 up to, my goodness, middle school, actually like into 00:10:29.76\00:10:33.29 the ninth grade, there was at Christmas time, 00:10:33.33\00:10:36.20 she would have made a big box through the year, 00:10:36.23\00:10:39.27 she would have made clothes for me. 00:10:39.30\00:10:42.84 And my older sister as well. 00:10:42.87\00:10:44.97 And so we would have this big box of homemade clothes. 00:10:45.01\00:10:50.31 And so, you know, as I got into, as I grew up 00:10:50.35\00:10:54.68 a little older there and almost in the ninth grade, 00:10:54.72\00:10:58.15 I noticed the other kids weren't wearing 00:10:58.75\00:11:02.16 the same thing I was wearing. 00:11:02.19\00:11:03.89 And you know, you're trying to get cool. 00:11:04.29\00:11:07.03 And I was probably a little late actually, trying to get cool. 00:11:07.43\00:11:10.07 But I've been a late bloomer all my life. 00:11:10.10\00:11:11.73 And so, I asked mom, "Could you just maybe get some 501 Levi's? 00:11:11.77\00:11:17.87 That would be something I would rather have." 00:11:17.91\00:11:20.61 You know, and I didn't know what I was saying. 00:11:20.64\00:11:22.58 Well I knew what I was saying, but I didn't realize 00:11:23.04\00:11:25.98 that when I came down that Christmas and saw 00:11:26.01\00:11:28.75 just this little package. 00:11:28.78\00:11:30.12 There was no more big box. 00:11:30.15\00:11:31.75 Which meant there was no more... 00:11:31.79\00:11:34.29 Well, there was the love, because she loved me enough 00:11:34.32\00:11:37.49 to buy those Levi's. 00:11:37.53\00:11:39.49 But I think back, you know, many years later, 00:11:40.13\00:11:43.43 I've thought, "Wow, I sure would love to have a box of 00:11:43.47\00:11:47.47 homemade clothes," you know. 00:11:47.50\00:11:49.30 Because there's just something about the love 00:11:49.50\00:11:50.87 that you realize went into those. 00:11:50.91\00:11:53.24 And, yeah. 00:11:53.27\00:11:54.61 So I'd say that's a great memory. 00:11:54.64\00:11:57.38 But basically, just to never take advantage, 00:11:58.35\00:12:01.78 or take for granted, rather, the gifts. 00:12:01.98\00:12:07.16 And you know what? I like to associate that with our Father. 00:12:07.19\00:12:10.13 Sometimes we take advantage, or take for granted, 00:12:10.16\00:12:13.16 the gift that He gave in His Son. 00:12:13.36\00:12:15.16 ~ So true. What a great analogy. 00:12:15.20\00:12:17.23 We do take Him for granted sometimes. 00:12:17.27\00:12:19.67 Tim, there's so much going on in the world right now, 00:12:19.70\00:12:22.77 and we do need peace. 00:12:22.97\00:12:24.71 You just sang about peace, but I wish you'd do one more 00:12:24.74\00:12:27.01 song about peace for us. 00:12:27.04\00:12:28.68 ~ I would love to. - Great, thank you. 00:12:28.71\00:12:30.45 - A Little Peace on Earth. ~ Yes, amen. 00:12:30.48\00:12:32.88 Lately, I've been praying for a little peace on earth. 00:12:48.66\00:12:54.60 The kind the angels sang about the starry night of Jesus birth. 00:12:55.24\00:13:02.21 And don't it seem like lately this old world is going wild, 00:13:02.58\00:13:08.48 and we could all sure use a taste of mercy mild. 00:13:09.85\00:13:15.09 So I'm praying for all it's worth 00:13:15.76\00:13:21.46 for a little peace on earth. 00:13:21.56\00:13:25.97 It's hard to imagine a silent night 00:13:27.80\00:13:33.04 in a busy world that never seems to sleep. 00:13:34.18\00:13:38.95 But then I close my eyes and think of Bethlehem's Child, 00:13:41.55\00:13:47.46 then I realize just what we really need. 00:13:48.16\00:13:53.43 Lately I've been praying for a little peace on earth. 00:13:55.83\00:14:02.10 The kind the angels sang about the starry night of Jesus birth. 00:14:02.64\00:14:09.58 And don't it seem like lately this old world is going wild, 00:14:09.61\00:14:15.65 and we could all use a taste of mercy mild. 00:14:17.02\00:14:21.92 So I'm praying for all it's worth 00:14:22.82\00:14:28.26 for a little peace on earth. 00:14:28.30\00:14:32.57 I hear a church bell ringing in the distance, 00:14:34.44\00:14:40.28 and faith wells up in me like a child. 00:14:40.68\00:14:46.11 I bow my head and ask the Lord, "This Christmas, 00:14:47.62\00:14:52.85 could You help us get along for just a while?" 00:14:54.26\00:15:02.20 Lately, I've been praying for a little peace on earth. 00:15:16.51\00:15:22.85 The kind the angels sang about the starry night of Jesus birth. 00:15:23.55\00:15:30.99 And don't it seem like lately this old world is going wild, 00:15:31.03\00:15:37.83 and we could all sure use a taste of mercy mild. 00:15:39.37\00:15:44.71 So I'm praying for all it's worth, 00:15:45.91\00:15:52.25 yeah I'm praying for all it's worth 00:15:53.18\00:15:59.62 for a little peace on earth. 00:15:59.65\00:16:05.19 That was so beautiful, Tim. It's so good to be here. 00:24:57.16\00:24:58.86 Tell us a bit about that song. 00:24:58.89\00:25:01.03 What is its significance to you? 00:25:01.23\00:25:04.20 Well, when I heard this song, I immediately felt drawn to it. 00:25:04.23\00:25:08.44 And the words, the lyrics, spoke to me because, 00:25:08.47\00:25:11.61 you know, it painted a picture of Christmas time 00:25:11.81\00:25:16.58 when most families come together. 00:25:16.61\00:25:18.51 No matter what happened during the year, 00:25:18.55\00:25:21.02 you know, people come together again. 00:25:21.22\00:25:23.39 Whether it's your family of origin or your extended family, 00:25:23.42\00:25:27.92 you know, friends, neighbors, church members, you know. 00:25:27.96\00:25:32.09 And even strangers, people who we may not know, 00:25:32.29\00:25:35.63 but are in need of shelter, 00:25:35.66\00:25:38.53 in need of just someone to spend time with. 00:25:38.57\00:25:41.70 The whole concept of just taking care of family and being there. 00:25:41.80\00:25:45.44 And it doesn't matter who you are, what color you are, 00:25:45.47\00:25:48.51 your religious belief, your background, 00:25:48.81\00:25:51.08 you're welcome at the table. 00:25:51.11\00:25:53.01 ~ Yes, yes, that's so beautiful. 00:25:53.05\00:25:55.12 Tell us a little bit about your background. 00:25:55.45\00:25:57.62 Where are you from? Where do you live now? 00:25:57.65\00:26:00.49 Did you grow up in a Christian home? 00:26:00.52\00:26:02.32 Give us a little bit of insight into your background. 00:26:02.36\00:26:06.29 Well, I claim two islands; Trinidad and Tobago, 00:26:06.49\00:26:09.80 as well as St. Thomas Virgin Islands. 00:26:10.10\00:26:11.90 I was born in Trinidad, my parents are from there, 00:26:11.93\00:26:14.50 and then I was raised on the island of St. Thomas. 00:26:14.54\00:26:18.44 And I love home, I love home. 00:26:18.74\00:26:22.48 My family, my parents are Seventh-day Adventist 00:26:22.98\00:26:27.12 and I was raised in the church. 00:26:27.15\00:26:29.18 And I was raised around a lot of music, 00:26:29.48\00:26:31.69 a lot of people who I admired in the church, 00:26:33.42\00:26:37.89 and just even little things. 00:26:37.93\00:26:41.30 I remember the organist at the church, Celeste. 00:26:41.33\00:26:44.33 She's actually still playing. 00:26:44.37\00:26:46.23 But she would even do a little thing with her foot 00:26:47.10\00:26:49.80 when she was playing on the organ. 00:26:49.84\00:26:51.17 And I would go home and, I did not have a piano at the time, 00:26:51.21\00:26:54.01 but I would just kind of mimic everything that she was doing, 00:26:54.04\00:26:56.44 because I think God had planted in me that seed, that desire 00:26:56.48\00:27:00.95 to do music for His glory. 00:27:01.48\00:27:04.19 ~ When did you start playing? 00:27:04.22\00:27:05.55 Well, I would say I was about six or seven. 00:27:05.72\00:27:10.29 And we didn't have an instrument at the time, 00:27:10.53\00:27:12.96 So I would go and find any little spot that I could 00:27:12.99\00:27:15.43 pretend I was playing, and then finally my parents said, 00:27:15.46\00:27:18.07 "Okay, enough," and they got me an instrument. 00:27:18.10\00:27:20.97 And so, I was able to, you know, take lessons and spend time 00:27:21.57\00:27:27.51 in the church with groups and choirs. 00:27:27.54\00:27:29.78 And I guess God just kind of groomed me 00:27:29.81\00:27:32.61 through those opportunities throughout my years. 00:27:32.65\00:27:35.15 That's great. So you started playing around six or seven? 00:27:35.18\00:27:39.35 Yes, I would say around seven. 00:27:39.39\00:27:41.72 And when did you know that you could sing? 00:27:42.12\00:27:44.33 Well, I don't know if it was when I knew I could sing. 00:27:45.26\00:27:48.46 It was just something we did at church. 00:27:48.50\00:27:50.67 And I was always, I always loved group singing. 00:27:51.20\00:27:55.14 So I gravitated towards friends, family, 00:27:55.17\00:27:58.51 where we could do harmony. 00:27:58.54\00:28:00.01 I loved harmony. 00:28:00.21\00:28:01.54 So I would sing in little groups. 00:28:01.58\00:28:02.98 And then as I got older, choirs. 00:28:03.01\00:28:06.05 And then as I got a little older and moved into college, 00:28:06.51\00:28:12.62 what have you, I really got involved with choirs 00:28:12.65\00:28:16.89 and small groups. 00:28:16.93\00:28:19.76 I really liked being in the background a lot. 00:28:20.50\00:28:23.40 And so when I started to do more solo singing, I was so nervous. 00:28:23.43\00:28:27.87 I remember they had to do a quick prayer over me 00:28:27.90\00:28:30.84 because I was afraid to step out. 00:28:30.87\00:28:32.57 I was usually behind the scenes, whether it was playing or just 00:28:32.61\00:28:36.14 even directing, my back was to the congregation. 00:28:36.18\00:28:38.81 But then as I started more solo ministry, 00:28:38.85\00:28:40.98 it was a little terrifying at first. 00:28:41.02\00:28:43.32 But you know, God has been with me. 00:28:43.35\00:28:44.92 ~ Yes, yes, for sure. 00:28:44.95\00:28:46.42 And you brought your husband here with you this time. 00:28:46.45\00:28:49.39 ~ I did. - What a blessing. 00:28:49.42\00:28:50.76 Tell us a little bit about David, David Thompson. 00:28:50.79\00:28:53.66 Well, David and I met, again, through ministry, 00:28:53.96\00:28:57.47 as God would have it. 00:28:57.50\00:28:58.83 The short version is that he is just a wonderful support. 00:28:58.87\00:29:04.77 He is a database administrator. 00:29:05.57\00:29:08.44 And so, that technical side of him has served... 00:29:08.64\00:29:12.91 I call it our ministry well. 00:29:12.95\00:29:14.85 Because, you know, when we go to minister, whether to a small 00:29:15.65\00:29:20.02 church, or doing a concert, even here, 00:29:20.06\00:29:23.66 his feedback, his expertise, and his support 00:29:23.96\00:29:28.83 means a lot to me. 00:29:29.13\00:29:30.50 So things like, you know, the mic, is it set right, 00:29:30.53\00:29:33.23 you know, is there balance, or what have you, 00:29:33.94\00:29:36.47 so it's been a blessing. 00:29:36.71\00:29:38.54 - You guys are a team. - We are. 00:29:38.74\00:29:40.54 And that, that is great. 00:29:40.58\00:29:42.24 Tell us a little bit about the song that you're 00:29:42.34\00:29:44.95 getting ready to sing now. 00:29:44.98\00:29:46.78 Give us a little insight into that. 00:29:46.98\00:29:49.28 So one of the things I love to do is combine hymns 00:29:49.48\00:29:54.39 with more popular songs. 00:29:54.42\00:29:56.22 Contemporary. 00:29:57.09\00:29:58.43 And so, this is just little medley of, 00:29:58.69\00:30:02.06 O Come All Ye Faithful. 00:30:02.10\00:30:03.43 The idea that, you know, music is a gift. 00:30:04.17\00:30:06.84 And Christmas time, you know, we do a lot of carols, we sing, 00:30:07.70\00:30:10.97 exchange gifts, we celebrate. 00:30:11.01\00:30:14.74 But at the end of the day, it's really all about Christ. 00:30:14.78\00:30:18.11 It's all about You, Jesus. 00:30:18.15\00:30:19.71 And I believe my assignment has been to share my gift, 00:30:19.75\00:30:25.69 to bring joy, to bring hope and courage and comfort to others. 00:30:25.72\00:30:29.69 And so, that's what the song pretty much says. 00:30:29.72\00:30:34.00 Well, we look forward to hearing it. 00:30:34.03\00:30:35.40 - Thank you so much. ~ Thank you, Yvonne. 00:30:35.43\00:30:37.37 O come let us adore Him, 00:30:39.43\00:30:47.08 O come let us adore Him, 00:30:47.58\00:30:54.55 O come let us adore Him, 00:30:54.95\00:31:04.06 Christ the Lord. 00:31:04.76\00:31:13.13 When the music fades and all is stripped away, 00:31:24.58\00:31:31.39 and I simply come 00:31:32.25\00:31:36.52 longing just to bring something that's of worth 00:31:39.19\00:31:46.20 that will bless your heart, 00:31:46.43\00:31:50.81 I'll bring you more than a song. 00:31:53.01\00:31:57.28 For a song in itself is not what You have required of me, Lord. 00:31:57.58\00:32:05.89 You search much deeper within, through the way things appear. 00:32:06.99\00:32:14.40 You're looking into my heart. 00:32:14.43\00:32:18.63 I'm coming back to the heart of worship. 00:32:22.24\00:32:28.91 And it's all about You, it's all about You, Jesus. 00:32:29.21\00:32:36.99 I'm sorry, Lord, for the thing I've made it, 00:32:37.02\00:32:43.49 when it's all about You, it's all about You, Jesus. 00:32:43.83\00:32:52.90 King of endless worth, no one could express 00:32:59.57\00:33:06.72 how much You deserve. 00:33:06.75\00:33:10.75 Though I'm weak and poor, all I have is Yours. 00:33:14.29\00:33:21.30 Every single breath. 00:33:21.33\00:33:25.23 I'll bring you more than a song. 00:33:27.87\00:33:32.34 For a song in itself is not what You have required of me, Lord. 00:33:32.37\00:33:41.12 You search much deeper within, through the way things appear. 00:33:42.38\00:33:49.69 You're looking into my heart. 00:33:49.72\00:33:54.86 I'm coming back to the heart of worship. 00:33:57.63\00:34:04.27 And it's all about You, it's all about You, Jesus. 00:34:04.81\00:34:12.61 I'm sorry, Lord, for the thing I've made it, 00:34:12.91\00:34:18.79 when it's all about You, it's all about You, Jesus. 00:34:19.55\00:34:28.66 I'm coming back to the heart of worship. 00:34:34.90\00:34:41.24 And it's all about You, it's all about You, Jesus. 00:34:41.28\00:34:49.48 I'm sorry, Lord, for the thing I've made it, 00:34:49.52\00:34:55.92 when it's all about You, it's all about You. 00:34:56.32\00:35:03.77 It's all about You. 00:35:05.00\00:35:07.57 It's all about You, Jesus. 00:35:08.14\00:35:13.91 That was so beautiful. 00:35:46.47\00:35:48.21 Thank you so much. 00:35:48.24\00:35:49.84 I'm coming back to this heart of worship. 00:35:50.38\00:35:53.05 Because it's all about You, it's all about You, Jesus. 00:35:53.48\00:35:56.69 That's what we're here for. 00:35:56.72\00:35:58.12 That's why we're here. 00:35:58.15\00:35:59.62 To lift up the name of Jesus Christ. 00:35:59.65\00:36:02.76 Because He has done so much on our behalf. 00:36:02.79\00:36:07.73 You might not know what Jesus has done, but Jesus came 00:36:07.93\00:36:12.67 and lived, He entered in, God Himself entered into 00:36:13.20\00:36:18.27 His own creation and became a man 00:36:18.31\00:36:21.41 and lived a perfect sinless life so that His righteousness 00:36:22.31\00:36:27.72 could be attributed to us. 00:36:27.75\00:36:30.75 He became sin for us that we might be the righteousness 00:36:30.79\00:36:35.56 of God in Him. 00:36:35.59\00:36:37.13 What a beautiful thing. 00:36:37.69\00:36:39.49 What a beautiful thing. 00:36:39.76\00:36:41.10 We don't deserve it, but He doesn't treat us like that. 00:36:41.13\00:36:43.67 And guess what? 00:36:43.97\00:36:45.30 It's all about Him. 00:36:45.33\00:36:47.00 So with that, we have to go and tell what Jesus has done. 00:36:47.04\00:36:51.47 We have to spread it everywhere. 00:36:51.51\00:36:53.31 We have to go and tell it on the mountain. 00:36:53.34\00:36:57.21 Like Pastor Ryan Johnson is going to share with us now. 00:36:57.41\00:37:01.58 And Tim. 00:37:01.62\00:37:02.95 O when I was a sinner, 00:37:15.03\00:37:21.14 I prayed both night and day. 00:37:22.24\00:37:27.44 I asked the Lord to help me, 00:37:27.88\00:37:33.11 and He showed me the way. 00:37:33.15\00:37:40.29 Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere, 00:37:40.59\00:37:49.00 go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born. 00:37:49.03\00:37:58.17 Twas in a lowly manger 00:37:58.54\00:38:04.25 that Jesus Christ was born. 00:38:04.28\00:38:09.42 The Lord sent down an angel 00:38:09.62\00:38:13.89 on that bright glorious morn. 00:38:13.92\00:38:21.36 Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere, 00:38:21.40\00:38:30.04 go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born. 00:38:30.07\00:38:39.85 Now He made me a watchman 00:38:40.32\00:38:46.82 upon the city walls. 00:38:46.86\00:38:52.33 And if I am a Christian, 00:38:52.53\00:38:57.70 I am the least of all. 00:38:57.73\00:39:05.91 Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere, 00:39:06.41\00:39:15.08 go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born. 00:39:15.12\00:39:22.29 Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere, 00:39:23.36\00:39:31.47 go tell it on the mountain 00:39:31.50\00:39:37.34 that Jesus Christ is born. 00:39:37.37\00:39:47.32 What Child is this who laid to rest 00:40:04.80\00:40:13.07 on Mary's lap is sleeping, 00:40:13.11\00:40:21.48 whom angels greet with anthems sweet 00:40:21.52\00:40:29.62 while shepherds watch are keeping? 00:40:29.66\00:40:37.90 Imagine if you were the baby, 00:40:38.20\00:40:43.30 a little, tiny, tiny baby, 00:40:43.34\00:40:48.81 with little hands and little feet, 00:40:48.84\00:40:53.58 and great big eyes. 00:40:53.62\00:40:58.95 Now what if this was your baby? 00:40:58.99\00:41:04.03 And you were hoping that maybe 00:41:04.06\00:41:08.96 he wouldn't grow into a man 00:41:09.00\00:41:13.80 destined to die. 00:41:13.84\00:41:18.77 A thousand worlds between His throne 00:41:20.18\00:41:28.28 and the manger He now calls His own. 00:41:28.32\00:41:35.99 To loose our bonds and set us free, 00:41:36.02\00:41:43.80 the Babe, the Son of Mary. 00:41:43.83\00:41:52.54 This, this is Christ the King 00:41:52.57\00:41:59.61 whom shepherds guard and angels sing. 00:41:59.65\00:42:07.82 Haste, haste to bring Him laud, 00:42:07.86\00:42:14.93 the Babe, the Son of Mary. 00:42:14.96\00:42:24.37 But thorn would pierce Him, nail would pierce Him, 00:42:28.74\00:42:38.49 spear would pierce this Baby. 00:42:38.52\00:42:46.19 We'd hang Him high and watch Him die; 00:42:46.23\00:42:54.10 the Babe, the Son of Mary. 00:42:54.14\00:43:01.94 O this, this was Christ our King 00:43:01.98\00:43:09.45 who we murdered on, we murdered on that wicked thing. 00:43:09.48\00:43:18.09 Lord, Lord forgive us, Lord; 00:43:18.13\00:43:27.10 the Babe, 00:43:27.30\00:43:30.84 the Son of Mary. 00:43:30.87\00:43:40.82 Amen, amen. 00:44:04.54\00:44:06.04 That was beautiful. 00:44:06.07\00:44:08.84 Where did that arrangement come from? 00:44:08.88\00:44:10.88 That's not the traditional, What Child is This? 00:44:10.91\00:44:13.72 No ma'am. And praise the Lord. 00:44:13.75\00:44:16.32 We were just thinking about Mary, and the things that 00:44:16.62\00:44:20.66 she had been told prophetically. 00:44:20.69\00:44:22.59 She's the one, of course, that taught Jesus at her knee. 00:44:22.79\00:44:25.79 So she had studied Isaiah. 00:44:25.83\00:44:27.23 "And a sword shall pierce thine own soul also." 00:44:27.26\00:44:30.03 "...thine own heart also." 00:44:30.07\00:44:31.40 And what must it have been like for her putting everything 00:44:31.43\00:44:35.10 she had into this little Boy. 00:44:35.14\00:44:37.21 And just in the back of her mind, just praying that He 00:44:37.61\00:44:40.81 wouldn't grow up to be the sacrifice, you know. 00:44:40.84\00:44:43.75 Not that she fully understood. 00:44:44.28\00:44:45.91 But you know, just what must that have been like. 00:44:45.95\00:44:48.55 ~ Yes, yes. 00:44:48.58\00:44:49.92 You know, Pastor Johnson, we have had you on Dare to Dream, 00:44:49.95\00:44:54.49 you are the host of Imperative Life Lessons, 00:44:54.52\00:44:57.46 and I'd never heard you sing before. 00:44:57.66\00:44:59.49 I have to tell our audience, is he not a blessing? 00:44:59.53\00:45:03.40 ~ God is good. - Praise the Lord. 00:45:03.43\00:45:04.77 Thank you for the opportunity. 00:45:04.80\00:45:06.23 Oh, absolutely. Praise the Lord. 00:45:06.27\00:45:07.90 So Jason told me, well first of all my aunt told me that 00:45:07.94\00:45:11.31 you could sing, but I hadn't heard you. 00:45:11.34\00:45:12.94 Then Jason told me that you sing. 00:45:12.97\00:45:15.04 And I heard you, and I'm like, whoa, we haven't even 00:45:15.14\00:45:17.91 had him on 3ABN yet. 00:45:17.95\00:45:19.71 Praise God. Yes ma'am. 00:45:19.75\00:45:21.08 ~ We are really, really thankful and happy that you came 00:45:21.12\00:45:24.72 to bless us with the music. 00:45:24.75\00:45:27.19 ~ It's kind of been, you know, my little dream to sing 00:45:27.22\00:45:30.46 alongside you, and maybe we can do some of that later, probably. 00:45:30.49\00:45:33.86 Later on, praise the Lord, we're going to get to sing together. 00:45:34.30\00:45:37.63 Which will be a blessing for me. 00:45:37.67\00:45:39.20 So give us a little bit of your background. 00:45:39.30\00:45:41.40 Because people see you on Dare to Dream and 3ABN, 00:45:41.44\00:45:45.01 but they might not know who you are. 00:45:45.04\00:45:47.08 And you've had a very interesting past. 00:45:47.11\00:45:50.58 Give us a little bit of background about you. 00:45:50.61\00:45:52.51 ~ Yes ma'am. 00:45:52.55\00:45:53.88 One of the main things, and I don't talk about this a lot, 00:45:54.75\00:45:57.09 as you know, is that I have a background in medicine. 00:45:57.12\00:45:59.02 The Lord called me into the ministry. 00:45:59.32\00:46:01.62 But it was very soon after we accepted that call, 00:46:01.66\00:46:05.73 my lovely wife Vanessa, whom you know, 00:46:05.76\00:46:07.90 and I, the devil got busy. 00:46:08.10\00:46:11.13 And the primary thing to know about me, 00:46:11.23\00:46:14.80 by God's grace, is that I am a man who is standing up, 00:46:15.00\00:46:19.57 literally, because of the prayers of his mama, 00:46:19.61\00:46:22.01 and because of the prayers of the congregation. 00:46:22.31\00:46:24.71 The devil attacked my health, and stuff. 00:46:25.21\00:46:27.18 And so, I am one of those preachers who knows that 00:46:27.22\00:46:31.59 God answers prayer. 00:46:31.62\00:46:32.95 Give us a little bit of insight, if you would, 00:46:33.79\00:46:36.32 about your health challenges. 00:46:36.36\00:46:38.03 Certainly. 00:46:38.06\00:46:39.39 We've talked about this before, I have not only type 1 diabetes, 00:46:39.43\00:46:45.13 And that's an Auto-immune disease. 00:46:45.17\00:46:47.84 Auto-immune diseases love hanging out in packs. 00:46:47.87\00:46:50.17 So I also have rheumatoid arthritis. 00:46:50.21\00:46:52.64 And I remember one time you had come to Las Vegas 00:46:52.67\00:46:55.14 to support something we were doing, 00:46:55.18\00:46:56.61 and it was just setting in then. 00:46:56.64\00:46:58.91 And you grabbed me and my little brother, 00:46:59.11\00:47:01.68 we didn't know what was going on, we had a special prayer. 00:47:01.72\00:47:04.25 It almost took me out. 00:47:04.45\00:47:06.15 - Can I tell a little something? ~ Please. 00:47:06.76\00:47:08.66 You know, Christmas time is a joyous time. 00:47:09.29\00:47:13.56 But it is also for many people a difficult time. 00:47:13.60\00:47:16.46 You know, they see everybody walking around happy and stuff. 00:47:16.67\00:47:19.30 The things they're dealing with, the pressures and stuff, 00:47:19.33\00:47:21.67 it can really bear down heavily. 00:47:21.70\00:47:23.61 I told a testimony here some time ago about a preacher 00:47:23.64\00:47:27.54 who, in the middle of his sermon while it was raining, 00:47:27.58\00:47:30.65 prayed that the Lord would stop the rain. 00:47:30.68\00:47:32.91 And the Lord stopped it. I was sitting there and saw it. 00:47:33.18\00:47:35.25 I was like, "I need the Lord to stop the rain in my life." 00:47:35.45\00:47:37.95 But I was afraid to pray bold prayers like that. 00:47:37.99\00:47:41.56 I would always say, "Lord, heal me, help me," 00:47:41.66\00:47:43.93 and then kind of couch it with, "But, you know, whatever it is 00:47:43.96\00:47:46.66 You want, Lord, we will accept." 00:47:46.70\00:47:48.50 I was on the mountain just two weeks ago 00:47:48.70\00:47:51.13 with our church, and I was preaching, 00:47:51.17\00:47:54.04 and the rain came down, oh my goodness, my lady, 00:47:54.07\00:47:56.71 and the floods came up. 00:47:56.74\00:47:58.07 And my wife gave me the eye. 00:47:58.11\00:47:59.87 She was like, "Husband, you need to pray a bold prayer. 00:47:59.91\00:48:03.08 Now is the time." 00:48:03.11\00:48:04.61 Well, I stood up front and I prayed the prayer, 00:48:04.71\00:48:07.02 "Lord, hold the rain till after the service." 00:48:07.05\00:48:09.12 And it rained harder. 00:48:09.15\00:48:10.59 ~ But don't you know, I sat down. 00:48:11.39\00:48:13.49 And as soon as I sat down, the rain began to stop. 00:48:13.76\00:48:17.13 And when the foolish preacher stood up to preach, 00:48:17.33\00:48:20.03 birds were tweeting and the sun came out. 00:48:20.06\00:48:22.50 And I found out, listen to me, if you are hurting 00:48:22.70\00:48:26.80 during this season, the Lord can stop the rain. 00:48:27.04\00:48:30.07 But be not afraid to pray a bold prayer. 00:48:30.87\00:48:33.84 Bold prayers are prayed for me, lady. 00:48:33.88\00:48:35.84 Don't get me preaching. Every time... 00:48:35.88\00:48:37.45 ~ Oh come on, come on. We love it. 00:48:37.48\00:48:39.35 ~ That's why I am here, yes ma'am. 00:48:39.38\00:48:41.18 ~ Yes, yes, we love it. 00:48:41.22\00:48:42.65 So you're saying that no matter what you've gone through, 00:48:42.68\00:48:46.42 God has answered your prayers, first of all. 00:48:46.76\00:48:49.56 - Because you're still standing. ~ Still up, yes ma'am. 00:48:49.59\00:48:51.69 And this prayer, last week you prayed a bold prayer. 00:48:51.73\00:48:55.10 ~ I did.
