Let's bow our heads. 00:00:30.96\00:00:32.29 Thank You, Father, for this wonderful day. 00:00:32.33\00:00:35.83 Thank You for the privilege of coming once again here to this 00:00:35.86\00:00:40.24 place in full freedom to open Your Holy Word, and hear Your 00:00:40.27\00:00:45.97 voice speaking to us. 00:00:46.01\00:00:47.34 We ask that You will be present here through the ministration 00:00:47.38\00:00:51.08 of Your Holy Spirit. 00:00:51.11\00:00:52.45 Give us clarity of thought, and give us willing hearts 00:00:52.48\00:00:56.35 to receive Your Word. 00:00:56.38\00:00:57.72 And we thank You for hearing our prayer, for we ask it 00:00:57.75\00:01:01.52 in the precious name of Jesus, Amen. 00:01:01.56\00:01:04.66 The lecture today, and the next lecture 00:01:04.69\00:01:11.73 are very closely linked. 00:01:11.77\00:01:13.97 In fact the lecture today, The Remnant of Her Seed, 00:01:14.00\00:01:19.31 is absolutely indispensible to understand the next lecture, 00:01:19.34\00:01:24.71 which is on the 144,000. 00:01:24.75\00:01:28.05 So what we're going to study today is basic 00:01:28.08\00:01:31.65 to understand our next lecture. 00:01:31.69\00:01:33.92 And I'd like to begin by going to Genesis 3:15, Genesis 3:15. 00:01:33.96\00:01:43.47 At this point Adam and Eve had sinned, and they were shaking 00:01:43.50\00:01:49.50 in the garden because they felt that God was going to implement 00:01:49.54\00:01:54.08 His Word, and they were going to be destroyed. 00:01:54.11\00:01:57.35 Because God had said, The day that you eat from the tree, 00:01:57.38\00:02:00.28 that very day you will surely die. 00:02:00.32\00:02:02.38 But when they were filled with fear, thinking that the sentence 00:02:02.42\00:02:06.82 was going to fall on them, God came down to the garden 00:02:06.86\00:02:10.33 and He spoke to the serpent. 00:02:10.36\00:02:13.33 And I want you to notice four key elements in this verse. 00:02:13.36\00:02:17.83 Genesis 3:15. God is speaking to the serpent, to the Devil. 00:02:17.87\00:02:23.34 That's the first element. 00:02:26.84\00:02:28.18 That is between the serpent. 00:02:31.11\00:02:32.85 That's the second element. 00:02:32.88\00:02:34.22 There's the third element. 00:02:35.28\00:02:36.62 So you'll notice that there's four elements here. 00:02:39.25\00:02:41.69 We have, first of all, enmity. 00:02:41.72\00:02:43.56 Then we have a serpent. 00:02:43.59\00:02:45.23 Then we have a woman. 00:02:45.26\00:02:46.70 And then the serpent has seed, and the woman has Seed. 00:02:46.73\00:02:50.67 And you'll notice that the enmity runs between the serpent 00:02:50.70\00:02:54.77 and the woman, and the serpent's seed, and the woman's Seed. 00:02:54.80\00:02:59.61 But the real enmity is not serpent versus woman, 00:02:59.64\00:03:04.61 or seed versus seed. 00:03:04.65\00:03:06.95 The true enmity is reflected in the last part of the verse. 00:03:06.98\00:03:10.59 Once again it says, And I will put enmity between you 00:03:10.62\00:03:14.32 and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; 00:03:14.36\00:03:18.49 He, that is the Seed of the woman, shall bruise your head,.. 00:03:18.53\00:03:22.90 That is the serpent's head. 00:03:22.93\00:03:24.47 ...and you shall bruise his heel. 00:03:24.50\00:03:28.00 So the great enmity that we find in Genesis 3:15, is between 00:03:28.04\00:03:33.71 the woman's Seed, and the serpent. 00:03:33.74\00:03:35.98 And the prophecy says that the Seed of the woman would crush 00:03:36.01\00:03:41.22 the serpent's head, and the serpent would be successful 00:03:41.25\00:03:44.42 in wounding his heel. 00:03:44.45\00:03:47.16 Now Revelation 12:17 picks up on this verse, on Genesis 3:15. 00:03:47.19\00:03:55.36 Go with me to Revelation 12:17, which we've read before. 00:03:55.40\00:04:00.97 It says there: 00:04:01.00\00:04:02.40 Let's see if we have the same four elements. 00:04:03.84\00:04:06.51 By the way, the dragon in verse 9 of Revelation 12, 00:04:06.54\00:04:09.58 is called the ancient serpent. 00:04:09.61\00:04:11.41 So the dragon is the serpent. So it says: 00:04:11.45\00:04:13.75 Or the serpent. 00:04:14.58\00:04:15.92 See, there you have the enmity. 00:04:17.05\00:04:18.82 There's the third element. 00:04:21.69\00:04:23.02 So you have a dragon, or a serpent. 00:04:23.06\00:04:24.49 You have enmity, or rage, and you have a woman. 00:04:24.53\00:04:28.60 And then it says: 00:04:28.63\00:04:30.13 That is the serpent. 00:04:30.80\00:04:32.13 There you have the enmity again. 00:04:33.87\00:04:35.37 I prefer the King James, with the remnant of her Seed. 00:04:36.91\00:04:41.18 So do we have seed in this verse also? Absolutely. 00:04:46.01\00:04:49.25 We find the same elements in this verse as we 00:04:49.28\00:04:52.65 found in Genesis 3:15. 00:04:52.69\00:04:54.66 We find a woman, we find a serpent, we find enmity, 00:04:54.69\00:05:00.46 and we find the Seed of the woman. 00:05:00.50\00:05:03.60 But you'll notice here in Revelation 12:17 that it's not 00:05:03.63\00:05:09.14 the Seed that is being spoken of, the Seed of the woman, 00:05:09.17\00:05:12.24 but the Seed's seed. 00:05:12.27\00:05:14.91 Notice the last part of the verse. 00:05:14.94\00:05:17.21 It says once again, He went to make war with the 00:05:17.25\00:05:20.85 remnant of her Seed. 00:05:20.88\00:05:23.18 Now the question is, Who is the Seed of the woman? 00:05:23.22\00:05:27.62 Because this is the remnant of the Seed of the woman, 00:05:27.66\00:05:31.26 the remnant of her seed. 00:05:31.29\00:05:33.03 Now the Seed of the woman, we're going to notice, is Jesus. 00:05:33.06\00:05:37.47 But this is the remnant's seed. 00:05:37.50\00:05:41.57 So, in other words, this is the Seed's seed. 00:05:41.60\00:05:44.64 Now let's notice John 12:23, 24, John 12:23, 24. 00:05:44.67\00:05:53.82 Here Jesus is speaking about His death. 00:05:53.85\00:05:57.19 And notice what He says: 00:05:57.22\00:05:58.55 By the way, that's Him. 00:06:03.83\00:06:05.16 It represents Jesus. 00:06:05.19\00:06:06.53 What happens? it sprouts again; and it produces what? 00:06:18.07\00:06:22.81 So you have one Seed, which is a grain of wheat; 00:06:24.75\00:06:28.45 falls into the ground, dies, and as a result of its death 00:06:28.48\00:06:32.99 it sprouts forth, and it brings forth many seeds. 00:06:33.02\00:06:36.32 Are you understanding? 00:06:36.36\00:06:37.69 In other words, these are the seeds of the Seed, 00:06:37.73\00:06:41.43 of the original seed that died and sprouted up. 00:06:41.46\00:06:45.40 Now the question is, who is this solitary Seed who brings many 00:06:45.43\00:06:50.67 seeds into the world? 00:06:50.71\00:06:52.37 Let's go to Galatians 3:16. 00:06:52.41\00:06:57.08 Galatians 3:16 identifies this solitary Seed, 00:06:57.11\00:07:02.45 this grain of wheat that Jesus spoke about. It says: 00:07:02.48\00:07:05.32 So the question is, Who is that solitary Seed, 00:07:21.87\00:07:24.97 that grain of wheat that Jesus spoke about? 00:07:25.01\00:07:27.74 He's talking about Himself. 00:07:27.78\00:07:30.15 But let me ask you, When Jesus died, and sprouted forth to new 00:07:30.18\00:07:34.12 life, or resurrected, Did He provide the means where He 00:07:34.15\00:07:38.12 could have many other seeds? Absolutely. 00:07:38.15\00:07:41.82 Notice Galatians 3:29. It says: 00:07:41.86\00:07:46.09 In other words, we become the Seed's seed. 00:07:53.30\00:07:57.37 Are you following me or are you not following me? 00:07:57.41\00:08:00.08 So in other words, Revelation 12:17 is saying that the 00:08:00.11\00:08:04.81 serpent, or the dragon, was going to be enraged with the 00:08:04.85\00:08:08.22 remnant of her Seed. 00:08:08.25\00:08:10.55 Her Seed is Jesus, so the remnant of her seed would be 00:08:10.59\00:08:14.19 those who were born from Jesus, the Seed's seed, if you please. 00:08:14.22\00:08:19.66 Now you say, Why do you bring this to view? 00:08:19.69\00:08:23.90 There's a very important reason. 00:08:23.93\00:08:26.13 You see, in the book of Revelation, Babylon is not 00:08:26.17\00:08:32.07 a literal city geographically defined. 00:08:32.11\00:08:35.94 Babylon, according to what we've studied, is a worldwide system 00:08:35.98\00:08:40.55 that is at enmity with the people of God. 00:08:40.58\00:08:44.45 The woman, who is called Babylon the harlot, is symbolic. 00:08:44.49\00:08:49.22 The wine that she gets is symbolic. 00:08:49.26\00:08:52.59 Her fornication is symbolic. 00:08:52.63\00:08:54.96 The river that she sits on is symbolic. 00:08:55.00\00:08:58.40 It represents multitudes, nations, tongues, and peoples. 00:08:58.43\00:09:01.54 In other words, Babylon is not literal Babylon 00:09:01.57\00:09:04.21 over in the middle east. 00:09:04.24\00:09:05.57 Babylon is a worldwide, global, spiritual system. 00:09:05.61\00:09:10.28 Now who is the great enemy of Babylon in Scripture? 00:09:10.31\00:09:14.88 Folks, the great enemy of Babylon in Scripture is Israel. 00:09:14.92\00:09:19.02 Now let me ask you, If Babylon is global, or worldwide, 00:09:19.05\00:09:24.33 and spiritual, that must mean that Israel must also be 00:09:24.36\00:09:29.56 global and spiritual. 00:09:29.60\00:09:31.43 Are you understanding what I am saying? 00:09:31.47\00:09:33.17 The citizens of Babylon in Revelation are not citizens 00:09:33.20\00:09:37.27 of the old city in the middle east. 00:09:37.31\00:09:39.61 They're citizens of a worldwide apostate system. 00:09:39.64\00:09:43.04 And so Israel, the enemy of Babylon, must also be 00:09:43.08\00:09:46.68 a worldwide spiritual system. 00:09:46.72\00:09:49.48 And you say, Why do you bring this to view? 00:09:49.52\00:09:51.29 You see, most churches today, most Protestant churches, 00:09:51.32\00:09:55.79 at least of the conservative brand have a very interesting 00:09:55.82\00:09:59.46 idea about Bible prophecy. 00:09:59.49\00:10:01.20 They teach that God has two mutually exclusive peoples. 00:10:01.23\00:10:07.60 The first people of God are the literal Jews, 00:10:07.64\00:10:12.77 in other words literal Israel. 00:10:12.81\00:10:15.04 The second group that belongs to God, or the second people that 00:10:15.08\00:10:20.12 God has, is the Christian church. 00:10:20.15\00:10:23.25 And they believe that God has two totally different plans 00:10:23.28\00:10:27.49 for literal Israel and for the church. 00:10:27.52\00:10:30.23 They actually believe that the church is going to be Raptured 00:10:30.26\00:10:34.30 to heaven seven years before the glorious coming of Jesus. 00:10:34.33\00:10:37.90 And then after the spiritual people of God are Raptured 00:10:37.93\00:10:42.34 to heaven, then God will begin His plan again 00:10:42.37\00:10:45.84 for the literal Jews. 00:10:45.87\00:10:47.61 And some even teach that throughout eternity God is 00:10:47.64\00:10:51.51 going to have a heavenly people, and He's going to 00:10:51.55\00:10:53.68 have an earthly people. 00:10:53.72\00:10:55.05 He's going to have two peoples: literal Israel, 00:10:55.08\00:10:57.55 and the Christian church. 00:10:57.59\00:10:59.75 Now this has very strong implications for what we're 00:10:59.79\00:11:04.36 going to study in our next lecture. 00:11:04.39\00:11:05.89 Because we're going to notice that, according to Scripture, 00:11:05.93\00:11:10.27 there is only one Seed, who is Jesus Christ. 00:11:10.30\00:11:13.13 And there is only one Seed's seed, which are His 00:11:13.17\00:11:17.77 people from all ages. 00:11:17.81\00:11:20.14 And I want you to notice, in ten specific points, how the Bible 00:11:20.18\00:11:25.65 teaches that God has only one Israel, one true people, 00:11:25.68\00:11:29.85 that are not geographically defined, but they're defined 00:11:29.88\00:11:33.79 by their relationship to Jesus Christ. 00:11:33.82\00:11:36.16 So we're going to study ten points. 00:11:36.19\00:11:39.13 The first point is that God has only one fold. 00:11:39.16\00:11:43.60 Jesus has only one fold. 00:11:43.63\00:11:46.00 Notice John 10:16, John 10:16. Jesus says: 00:11:46.03\00:11:54.51 Who are those other sheep that are not of His fold? 00:11:59.31\00:12:02.32 This fold is Israel. 00:12:02.35\00:12:06.05 Jesus says, I was not sent but to the lost sheep 00:12:06.09\00:12:09.16 of the house of Israel, He says several times in the gospels. 00:12:09.19\00:12:12.79 So it says, He says, 00:12:12.83\00:12:14.70 ...two flocks and one shepherd. 00:12:24.47\00:12:26.68 That's not what it says. 00:12:26.71\00:12:28.28 He's going to bring the Gentiles and there will be what? 00:12:28.31\00:12:32.11 one flock, and one shepherd. 00:12:32.15\00:12:35.28 One people of God represented by sheep. 00:12:35.32\00:12:38.85 Let's go to John 11:51, 52. 00:12:38.89\00:12:42.56 We're still showing that Jesus has only one fold not two. 00:12:42.59\00:12:45.76 He doesn't have literal Israel and the Christian church. 00:12:45.79\00:12:48.70 He has one people, one fold, and there's one shepherd. 00:12:48.73\00:12:52.60 John 11:51, 52. You remember that Caiaphas says it's 00:12:52.63\00:12:56.64 necessary for one man to die, and not that 00:12:56.67\00:12:59.01 the nation disappear? Well notice: 00:12:59.04\00:13:00.98 Caiaphas did not say... 00:13:03.04\00:13:04.38 Which nation is that? for literal Israel. 00:13:11.89\00:13:15.36 But now notice: 00:13:16.76\00:13:18.09 How many folds, and how many shepherds? one fold, 00:13:29.94\00:13:33.74 and one shepherd. 00:13:33.78\00:13:35.11 And the fold is composed of Jews and Gentiles, 00:13:35.14\00:13:40.02 literal Israelites who accepted Jesus, and spiritual Israelites. 00:13:40.05\00:13:45.65 Now the second point that I would like us to notice is that 00:13:45.69\00:13:49.09 God has only one Israel, and that Israel is not 00:13:49.12\00:13:53.19 defined geographically. 00:13:53.23\00:13:55.50 It's not defined ethnically. 00:13:55.53\00:13:58.03 It's not defined genetically. 00:13:58.07\00:14:00.60 It's defined relationally. 00:14:00.64\00:14:03.54 In other words, for you to be Israel, you have to have 00:14:03.57\00:14:06.98 a relationship with Jesus Christ. 00:14:07.01\00:14:09.34 You must become the Seed's seed in order to be true Israel. 00:14:09.38\00:14:15.78 Let's go once again to Galatians 3:16. 00:14:15.82\00:14:20.12 Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. 00:14:20.16\00:14:23.32 He does not say, and to seeds, as of many, but as of one; 00:14:23.36\00:14:28.43 and to your Seed, who is Christ. 00:14:28.46\00:14:32.10 Who is the only true Seed, according to the apostle Paul? 00:14:32.13\00:14:35.87 Jesus Christ. Now do we become seed also? Yes. 00:14:35.90\00:14:40.08 We become the Seed's seed. 00:14:40.11\00:14:41.48 How is it that we become the Seed's seed? 00:14:41.51\00:14:44.55 Notice what we find in verse 26. 00:14:44.58\00:14:46.92 For you are all sons of God through how? 00:14:46.95\00:14:51.25 faith in Christ Jesus. 00:14:51.29\00:14:53.82 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ 00:14:53.86\00:14:58.09 have put on Christ. 00:14:58.13\00:14:59.79 How do we become the Seed's seed? 00:14:59.83\00:15:01.26 By being what? By being baptized into His church. Verse 28: 00:15:01.30\00:15:07.10 And now notice: 00:15:16.58\00:15:17.91 What makes us children of Abraham, or seed of Abraham? 00:15:24.75\00:15:28.72 The fact that we are related to whom? to Jesus Christ. 00:15:28.76\00:15:32.83 In other words, those who have not received Jesus Christ 00:15:32.86\00:15:36.33 are not really children of Abraham. 00:15:36.36\00:15:39.03 They are not really Israel. 00:15:39.07\00:15:40.87 Are you understanding what I'm saying? 00:15:40.90\00:15:42.34 Notice Romans 2:28, 29, Romans 2:28, 29. 00:15:42.37\00:15:48.38 Do you know that there are Jews that aren't really Jews? 00:15:48.41\00:15:50.68 Do you know what a real Jew is? 00:15:50.71\00:15:53.11 According to the New Testament definition, it is one who has 00:15:53.15\00:15:56.42 accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, be he Jew, literally 00:15:56.45\00:16:01.22 speaking, or be he Gentile. Romans 2:28, 29. 00:16:01.26\00:16:05.46 Let me ask you, Must you have a circumcised and converted 00:16:26.72\00:16:29.38 heart to Jesus Christ? 00:16:29.42\00:16:30.75 Must you have received the Holy Spirit in order to be a true Jew 00:16:30.79\00:16:35.16 according to the New Testament definition? Absolutely! 00:16:35.19\00:16:38.56 Notice Romans 9:6-8, Romans 9:6-8. 00:16:38.59\00:16:44.77 Here the apostle Paul says, 00:16:44.80\00:16:46.43 That's interesting. 00:16:54.08\00:16:55.41 Paul is saying that not all Israelites are Israelites. 00:16:55.44\00:16:58.51 Now who is an Israelite then? 00:16:58.55\00:17:00.92 Notice what he continues saying, verse 7. 00:17:00.95\00:17:02.88 Let me ask you, Is it possible to be the seed of Abraham 00:17:07.26\00:17:09.66 literally, and not be a child, or a son or a daughter of God? 00:17:09.69\00:17:12.93 Absolutely. So he says: 00:17:12.96\00:17:14.86 Let me ask you, Who was it that came from Isaac? 00:17:20.50\00:17:22.84 Jesus Christ, the Messiah. Verse 8. 00:17:22.87\00:17:25.87 That means literal Jews. 00:17:29.08\00:17:30.41 That is of the promise of the Messiah. 00:17:34.38\00:17:35.88 Do you remember the encounter that Jesus had with Nathaniel, 00:17:39.79\00:17:43.63 who became one of His disciples; one of the twelve apostles? 00:17:43.66\00:17:47.33 I want you to notice how the story is told in John 1:47-49. 00:17:47.36\00:17:54.10 It says here: 00:17:54.14\00:17:55.47 Question: If there are Israelites indeed, must there be 00:18:04.95\00:18:11.05 Israelites not indeed? Absolutely! 00:18:11.09\00:18:14.56 Now what made Nathaniel an Israelite indeed? 00:18:14.59\00:18:18.26 Was it because he had blood of Abraham flowing 00:18:18.29\00:18:20.10 through his veins? 00:18:20.13\00:18:21.46 Was it because he lived in the land of Israel? 00:18:21.50\00:18:23.60 Was that defined genetically, or geographically? Absolutely not. 00:18:23.63\00:18:28.17 Let's continue reading. 00:18:28.20\00:18:29.54 By the way, the word indeed there is a Greek word 00:18:29.57\00:18:34.51 that means genuine. 00:18:34.54\00:18:36.28 In other words this is a genuine Israelite in whom is no deceit; 00:18:36.31\00:18:43.32 the same word that's used about the 144,000: In their mouth 00:18:43.35\00:18:47.79 was found no deceit. 00:18:47.82\00:18:49.32 And then verse 48. 00:18:49.36\00:18:51.49 What made him a Jew indeed? 00:18:51.53\00:18:53.43 Interesting that he was under the fig tree, because the fig 00:19:04.71\00:19:07.08 tree represented Israel. 00:19:07.11\00:19:08.44 So you have an Israelite indeed under the symbol 00:19:08.48\00:19:11.11 that represents Israel. 00:19:11.15\00:19:12.68 And then verse 49 shows what made him a true Jew. 00:19:12.71\00:19:17.05 What made Nathaniel a Jew indeed, or an Israelite indeed? 00:19:26.59\00:19:30.73 the fact that he confessed that Jesus was the Son of God; 00:19:30.77\00:19:34.14 that Jesus was the King of Israel. 00:19:34.17\00:19:37.21 The next point that I want us to notice is that 00:19:37.24\00:19:40.38 God has only one body. 00:19:40.41\00:19:43.45 There's only one body of Christ, composed of Jews and Gentiles. 00:19:43.48\00:19:48.02 You see, God doesn't have two bodies. 00:19:48.05\00:19:50.09 God only has one body. 00:19:50.12\00:19:51.45 Christ only has one body. 00:19:51.49\00:19:53.19 Notice Ephesians 2:13-18, Ephesians 2:13-18. 00:19:53.22\00:20:00.26 Here the apostle Paul says: 00:20:00.30\00:20:01.63 Who were those who were far off? the Gentiles. 00:20:12.77\00:20:16.31 You're going to notice it in a minute. 00:20:16.34\00:20:17.68 That is Jesus is our peace. 00:20:20.18\00:20:21.55 In other words, Jew and Gentile He has made one. 00:20:25.45\00:20:28.02 How many new men? 00:20:39.80\00:20:41.14 That's the Gentiles, by the way. 00:20:59.09\00:21:00.56 That's the Jews. 00:21:02.12\00:21:03.46 How many bodies does Jesus have? 00:21:08.76\00:21:10.77 One body is a Jewish body, and the other body 00:21:10.80\00:21:14.60 is a Gentile body. 00:21:14.64\00:21:15.97 No, Jesus has one body composed of Jews and Gentiles: 00:21:16.00\00:21:20.81 one people, one Israel, one fold. 00:21:20.84\00:21:25.51 Notice 1 Corinthians 12:13, 1 Corinthians 12:13, 00:21:25.55\00:21:31.75 on this same point that Jesus Christ has only one body. 00:21:31.79\00:21:35.02 It says there: 00:21:35.06\00:21:36.39 See, Jews and Gentiles. 00:21:45.87\00:21:47.20 By the way, what is the body of Christ? 00:21:55.44\00:21:58.61 The body of Christ is the church. 00:21:58.65\00:22:01.45 I want you to notice that. 00:22:01.48\00:22:03.39 Ephesians 3:6. It says there in Ephesians 3:6 00:22:03.42\00:22:08.06 Listen to this. 00:22:09.49\00:22:10.83 How many heirs does God have? 00:22:12.76\00:22:14.26 He has Gentile heirs and He has Jewish heirs, 00:22:14.30\00:22:17.63 separated one from the other. 00:22:17.67\00:22:19.00 No, it says here: 00:22:19.03\00:22:20.80 a different body. Absolutely. 00:22:47.73\00:22:51.47 Ephesians 1:18 and then we'll read verse 24. 00:22:51.50\00:22:54.84 It says in verse 18, And he... 00:22:54.87\00:22:57.14 That is Jesus. 00:22:57.17\00:22:58.51 ...is the head of the body... 00:22:58.54\00:22:59.87 And what is the body? the church. 00:22:59.91\00:23:02.21 ...who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, 00:23:02.24\00:23:05.18 that in all things he may have the pre-eminence. 00:23:05.21\00:23:08.08 Verse 24: I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, 00:23:08.12\00:23:11.69 and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of 00:23:11.72\00:23:14.66 Christ for the sake of His body, which is what? 00:23:14.69\00:23:18.39 which is the church. 00:23:18.43\00:23:20.36 How many bodies does Jesus have? 00:23:20.40\00:23:22.63 He has two bodies. 00:23:22.66\00:23:25.27 If He had two bodies He would be a monster. 00:23:25.30\00:23:27.84 One head with two bodies? No. 00:23:27.87\00:23:30.91 He's one head, with one body, composed of all of the people 00:23:30.94\00:23:35.01 of God: Jews and Gentiles. 00:23:35.04\00:23:37.78 The next point that I want to make is that God has 00:23:37.81\00:23:41.32 only one chosen city. 00:23:41.35\00:23:42.75 He doesn't have the earthly Jerusalem for the Old Testament 00:23:42.78\00:23:47.29 Jewish saints, and the New Jerusalem for the New Testament 00:23:47.32\00:23:50.66 spiritual Israel saints. 00:23:50.69\00:23:53.23 Absolutely not! There's only one city for both Old and New 00:23:53.26\00:23:57.47 Testament people of God. 00:23:57.50\00:23:59.23 Notice Revelation 21:2, Revelation 21:2. 00:23:59.27\00:24:04.41 Which city is this? It's the New Jerusalem. 00:24:16.38\00:24:19.75 One city, right? Now is that city composed of all of God's 00:24:19.79\00:24:23.96 people from the Old and New Testament? Absolutely. 00:24:23.99\00:24:27.06 Notice Revelation 21:12, Revelation 21:12. 00:24:27.10\00:24:32.13 It's speaking here about the twelve gates of the city. 00:24:32.17\00:24:35.67 It says: 00:24:35.70\00:24:37.04 What is it that is written over the gates? 00:24:49.02\00:24:50.89 the names of the what? of the sons of Jacob, 00:24:50.92\00:24:54.76 of the twelve tribes of Israel. 00:24:54.79\00:24:56.26 Which testament would that be? 00:24:56.29\00:24:57.99 That would be the Old Testament, right? 00:24:58.03\00:25:00.90 But I want you to notice that that same city 00:25:00.93\00:25:03.47 has something else. 00:25:03.50\00:25:04.83 Notice Revelation 21:14, Revelation 21:14. 00:25:04.87\00:25:10.54 Speaking about the same city, it says: 00:25:10.57\00:25:12.47 In other words one city. 00:25:20.58\00:25:21.92 The gates have the names of the tribes, and the foundations 00:25:21.95\00:25:25.79 have the names of the apostles. 00:25:25.82\00:25:27.39 In other words, the city is composed of Old Testament 00:25:27.42\00:25:30.29 Christians and New Testament Christians, 00:25:30.33\00:25:32.69 Old Testament Israel and New Testament Israel in one city. 00:25:32.73\00:25:36.97 By the way, go with me to Hebrews 11, and lets pursue this 00:25:37.00\00:25:41.14 a little bit further. 00:25:41.17\00:25:42.50 Hebrews 11:9, 10 and then we'll jump down to verses 13 to 16. 00:25:42.54\00:25:47.11 Let me ask you, which city did the Old Testament 00:25:47.14\00:25:49.48 heroes look forward to? 00:25:49.51\00:25:50.85 Did Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob look forward to that little city 00:25:50.88\00:25:54.52 over there in the Middle East, where there's so 00:25:54.55\00:25:56.69 much conflict today? 00:25:56.72\00:25:58.05 None of the great heroes of the Old Testament looked forward 00:25:58.09\00:26:02.49 to the earthly Jerusalem. 00:26:02.52\00:26:04.63 They looked forward to the heavenly Jerusalem, 00:26:04.66\00:26:07.23 just like we look forward to the heavenly Jerusalem. 00:26:07.26\00:26:09.80 Notice Hebrews 11:9. 00:26:09.83\00:26:11.87 Speaking about Abraham. 00:26:12.73\00:26:14.30 Notice, he was in the promised land, 00:26:17.81\00:26:19.37 but it was a foreign country. 00:26:19.41\00:26:20.74 This is Abraham. 00:26:28.85\00:26:30.19 Which city did Abraham look forward to? to that little city? 00:26:35.09\00:26:38.43 Is that what God promised Abraham? that little city 00:26:38.46\00:26:41.06 over in the middle east? Of course not! 00:26:41.10\00:26:42.96 He looked forward to the heavenly Jerusalem, 00:26:43.00\00:26:45.17 just like we do today. 00:26:45.20\00:26:46.53 Notice verses 13 through 16. 00:26:46.57\00:26:49.17 Once again this idea is amplified. 00:26:49.20\00:26:51.07 It says, These... speaking about all these heroes 00:26:51.11\00:26:53.64 of the Old Testament. 00:26:53.68\00:26:55.01 See, they knew that this earth wasn't their home. 00:27:06.89\00:27:09.12 They knew that that little strip of land over in the middle east 00:27:09.16\00:27:12.29 wasn't their real home. Notice verse 14: 00:27:12.33\00:27:14.70 Were these people seeking a homeland, yes or no? Absolutely. 00:27:19.43\00:27:22.37 Verse 15. Which was that homeland? 00:27:22.40\00:27:24.77 Interesting! So how many cities does God have? 00:27:45.69\00:27:50.83 One city composed only of Gentiles, 00:27:50.87\00:27:55.90 if it's the New Jerusalem in heaven. 00:27:55.94\00:27:58.34 Is that what the Bible teaches? 00:27:58.37\00:28:00.44 The Bible teaches that there's one city composed of 00:28:00.48\00:28:04.81 the apostles, and the twelve tribes; 00:28:04.85\00:28:08.62 all of God's people in one city. 00:28:08.65\00:28:11.82 Now there's another point that I want to make, 00:28:11.85\00:28:14.32 and this will be point number 5. 00:28:14.36\00:28:15.79 God's people in the Bible are represented by only one woman. 00:28:15.82\00:28:23.33 Listen, if God has two separable peoples, then He has two wives. 00:28:23.37\00:28:29.30 He has two women, and God would be a spiritual bigamist. 00:28:29.34\00:28:33.61 Excuse me for saying that, but it's true. 00:28:33.64\00:28:36.64 Now notice Revelation 12:1, 2. 00:28:36.68\00:28:40.28 This is speaking about the church of the Old Testament; 00:28:40.32\00:28:44.19 the woman of the Old Testament. Notice verse 1: 00:28:44.22\00:28:47.26 This woman represents the Old Testament church. 00:29:02.77\00:29:06.64 And you say, How do we know that? 00:29:06.68\00:29:08.01 It's very simple, because she's pregnant with a child. 00:29:08.04\00:29:11.55 Who is the child? The child is Jesus. 00:29:11.58\00:29:13.92 It has to be the Old Testament church because the child 00:29:13.95\00:29:16.18 hasn't been born yet in verses 1 and 2. 00:29:16.22\00:29:18.29 So this woman represents the Old Testament church. 00:29:18.32\00:29:22.59 And, by the way, did Jesus come from the Old Testament church? 00:29:22.62\00:29:25.96 Was Jesus a descendent of Abraham? 00:29:25.99\00:29:29.40 Was Jesus a descendent of David? 00:29:29.43\00:29:32.63 He most certainly was. 00:29:32.67\00:29:34.00 Jesus was born from the Old Testament church. 00:29:34.04\00:29:37.07 But now I want you to notice that after the child is 00:29:37.11\00:29:40.68 caught up to God into His throne, notice verse 5: 00:29:40.71\00:29:42.74 In other words, after Jesus ascends to heaven, 00:29:50.35\00:29:53.32 then the dragon goes after whom? 00:29:53.36\00:29:55.82 He goes after the woman. 00:29:55.86\00:29:57.69 Is it a different woman, or is it the same woman? 00:29:57.73\00:30:00.36 It's the same woman. 00:30:00.40\00:30:01.73 Notice verse 6. It says: 00:30:01.76\00:30:03.97 Does the same woman flee into the wilderness as the one who 00:30:15.21\00:30:20.12 brought forth the male child? Yes. 00:30:20.15\00:30:22.35 The woman that brought forth the male child represents 00:30:22.38\00:30:25.29 the Old Testament church from where Jesus was born. 00:30:25.32\00:30:28.09 But then afterwards that same woman now flees 00:30:28.12\00:30:31.23 into the wilderness. 00:30:31.26\00:30:32.59 So much for the idea that God had an Old Testament woman, 00:30:32.63\00:30:36.87 which would be literal Israel, and then He has a separable 00:30:36.90\00:30:41.07 people which are the Gentiles in the New Testament period. 00:30:41.10\00:30:44.34 The Bible says that God only has one woman. 00:30:44.37\00:30:48.24 Jesus Christ has only one wife. 00:30:48.28\00:30:51.18 He does not have two wives: literal Israel 00:30:51.21\00:30:53.85 and spiritual Israel. 00:30:53.88\00:30:55.68 And, by the way, by choosing twelve apostles, 00:30:55.72\00:30:59.69 Jesus Christ was trying to teach that He was continuing Israel. 00:30:59.72\00:31:04.89 Don't you think that Jesus chose twelve apostles just because 00:31:04.93\00:31:08.30 He liked the number. 00:31:08.33\00:31:09.66 He says, Oh, twelve, that's a nice number, isn't it? 00:31:09.70\00:31:11.23 There were twelve tribes, so let's just choose twelve 00:31:11.27\00:31:13.23 twelve apostles, No. 00:31:13.27\00:31:14.60 Jesus chose twelve apostles intentionally. 00:31:14.64\00:31:17.44 How do we know that? 00:31:17.47\00:31:19.17 We know that because before the day of Pentecost, 00:31:19.21\00:31:22.81 in Acts 1, before God could pour out His Holy Spirit, 00:31:22.84\00:31:26.65 it was necessary to elect apostle number twelve 00:31:26.68\00:31:29.98 in place of Judas, because Judas had apostatized. 00:31:30.02\00:31:34.12 There needed to be how many? twelve. 00:31:34.16\00:31:36.09 And let me explain very briefly why there had to be twelve. 00:31:36.12\00:31:38.63 You see, the high priest, in the sanctuary, had twelve stones 00:31:38.66\00:31:44.33 on his breastplate, which represented God's people, 00:31:44.37\00:31:47.80 the twelve tribes of Israel. 00:31:47.84\00:31:49.30 Now Jesus was going to begin His high priestly ministry 00:31:49.34\00:31:52.77 in the heavenly sanctuary. 00:31:52.81\00:31:54.14 He couldn't begin it with only eleven stones 00:31:54.18\00:31:57.48 on His breastplate. 00:31:57.51\00:31:58.85 He had to have all twelve representing 00:31:58.88\00:32:01.32 all of God's people; the nucleus of His New Testament church. 00:32:01.35\00:32:04.69 In other words, the number twelve represents God's people 00:32:04.72\00:32:08.29 from all ages, Old Testament and New Testament. 00:32:08.32\00:32:12.76 The next point that I would like to make, 00:32:12.79\00:32:15.16 and I believe it's number six, is that Christ's kingdom 00:32:15.20\00:32:18.40 is illustrated by only one olive tree. 00:32:18.43\00:32:22.24 Now I'm going to tell you a few things about that olive tree. 00:32:22.27\00:32:26.04 It's found in Romans 11, and in a moment we're going to go to 00:32:26.07\00:32:29.38 the verses, but I want you to have something clear 00:32:29.41\00:32:32.05 before we read the verses. 00:32:32.08\00:32:33.58 This olive tree has natural branches, and those natural 00:32:33.62\00:32:39.45 branches are retained in the tree. 00:32:39.49\00:32:41.52 In other words, those natural branches are never cut off. 00:32:41.56\00:32:43.86 They are retained in the olive tree. 00:32:43.89\00:32:46.90 These represent the Jews who believed in, and accepted Jesus 00:32:46.93\00:32:51.90 Christ as Savior and Lord. 00:32:51.93\00:32:53.27 The literal Jews are the natural branches that were never 00:32:53.30\00:32:57.17 cut off, because they received the Messiah. 00:32:57.21\00:32:59.07 Then you have natural branches who were cut off. 00:32:59.11\00:33:02.28 They represent the literal Jews who rejected Jesus Christ, 00:33:02.31\00:33:06.92 because the tree trunk represents Jesus. 00:33:06.95\00:33:09.48 Then there were natural branches who were cut off, 00:33:09.52\00:33:12.35 but then they were grafted into the tree again. 00:33:12.39\00:33:14.92 That represents the Jews that initially rejected Jesus, 00:33:14.96\00:33:17.99 but then they accepted Him afterwards. 00:33:18.03\00:33:20.90 You see, what is it that determines whether you 00:33:20.93\00:33:23.70 belong to the tree or not? 00:33:23.73\00:33:25.07 What determines it is your relationship to whom? 00:33:25.10\00:33:27.80 to Jesus Christ. But then the olive tree also has some wild 00:33:27.84\00:33:33.38 olive branches grafted into it. 00:33:33.41\00:33:35.98 Now who would the wild olive branches grafted 00:33:36.01\00:33:40.22 into the tree represent? 00:33:40.25\00:33:41.58 They represent the Gentiles. 00:33:41.62\00:33:43.55 But notice that they belong to the same tree. 00:33:43.59\00:33:45.99 It's not a different tree. 00:33:46.02\00:33:47.66 It's the same tree. 00:33:47.69\00:33:49.02 And, by the way, the apostle Paul says, If you don't believe 00:33:49.06\00:33:53.80 in Jesus, then you'll be cut off, too. 00:33:53.83\00:33:56.83 And so you have this idea of one tree with natural branches, 00:33:56.87\00:34:02.20 wild olive branches, and what determines whether you belong 00:34:02.24\00:34:05.77 to the tree or not is your attitude, 00:34:05.81\00:34:09.04 and your relationship to Jesus Christ. 00:34:09.08\00:34:11.55 Let's read Romans 11 beginning with verse 17. 00:34:11.58\00:34:14.68 And it's a rather long passage, but lets go through it. 00:34:14.72\00:34:16.95 The apostle Paul says, 00:34:16.99\00:34:18.95 And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, 00:34:18.99\00:34:22.82 being a wild olive tree,... 00:34:22.86\00:34:24.39 This is now speaking about the Gentiles. 00:34:24.43\00:34:27.16 ...He says to the Gentiles. 00:34:36.71\00:34:38.04 Don't think that you're so great because you were grafted in. 00:34:38.07\00:34:40.24 Of course the root represents whom? Jesus. 00:34:46.31\00:34:49.18 ...says the apostle Paul. 00:34:55.59\00:34:56.99 Unbelief in whom? 00:34:59.43\00:35:01.23 The natural branches were broken off because of 00:35:01.26\00:35:04.13 unbelief in Jesus. 00:35:04.17\00:35:05.50 How? You say the reason you're grafted in 00:35:07.24\00:35:09.77 is because you have what? faith. 00:35:09.80\00:35:11.81 Faith in whom? in Jesus. 00:35:11.84\00:35:13.98 See, they'll be grafted into their own tree. 00:35:39.73\00:35:41.64 He's speaking about literal Israel. 00:36:07.50\00:36:09.20 And so some say, See, it says there that all Israel someday 00:36:16.14\00:36:20.08 is going to be saved. 00:36:20.11\00:36:21.44 But they don't take into account what comes immediately before. 00:36:21.48\00:36:24.05 You see, what is all Israel, according to the 00:36:24.08\00:36:26.78 preceding context? 00:36:26.82\00:36:28.15 According to the preceding context, all Israel will be 00:36:28.18\00:36:31.65 saved, means all faithful Israel that has been 00:36:31.69\00:36:34.82 grafted into the tree. 00:36:34.86\00:36:36.19 Natural branches that have remained, 00:36:36.22\00:36:39.43 natural branches that were cut off and grafted in again, 00:36:39.46\00:36:42.66 and wild olive branches that were taken off of a wild olive 00:36:42.70\00:36:47.00 tree and grafted into the natural olive tree. 00:36:47.04\00:36:50.64 In other words, the context indicates that when the apostle 00:36:50.67\00:36:54.51 Paul says, All Israel will be saved, he means all faithful 00:36:54.54\00:36:58.25 Israel, who have been grafted into the tree, 00:36:58.28\00:37:00.52 into the root, Jesus Christ. 00:37:00.55\00:37:02.72 And so it says, And so all Israel will be saved, 00:37:02.75\00:37:05.19 as it is written: 00:37:05.22\00:37:06.62 So how many trees illustrate the people of God? 00:37:17.57\00:37:20.80 Does God have two separable trees? 00:37:20.84\00:37:23.17 Does He have two separable wives? 00:37:23.20\00:37:25.67 Does He have two separable bodies? 00:37:25.71\00:37:27.64 Does He have two separable folds? 00:37:27.68\00:37:29.64 Does He have two separable Israel's? 00:37:29.68\00:37:32.01 Not according to Scripture. 00:37:32.05\00:37:33.78 He has one people; one faithful people who are determined 00:37:33.82\00:37:38.29 by their relationship to Jesus Christ. 00:37:38.32\00:37:40.72 Now our next point is that there is only going to be one banquet 00:37:40.76\00:37:44.99 table in the kingdom for Jews and Gentiles. 00:37:45.03\00:37:47.96 You know, Jesus had just healed the servant of a Centurion. 00:37:48.00\00:37:53.77 You know what a Centurion was, right? 00:37:53.80\00:37:55.97 He was the head of eleven soldiers in the Roman army, 00:37:56.00\00:37:59.61 in the Roman legions, is the way that they were called. 00:37:59.64\00:38:02.98 And Jesus had just healed his servant. 00:38:03.01\00:38:05.55 And I want you to notice what Jesus said to those who were 00:38:05.58\00:38:09.95 watching there and listening to what He had done 00:38:09.98\00:38:14.52 for this Centurion. 00:38:14.56\00:38:16.62 Notice Matthew 8:11, 12. Jesus says: 00:38:16.66\00:38:21.16 And I say to you, that many will come from east and west,... 00:38:21.20\00:38:25.57 Do you know who those are? the Gentiles. 00:38:25.60\00:38:28.80 ...many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, 00:38:28.84\00:38:34.04 Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 00:38:34.08\00:38:37.48 Were Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob faithful? 00:38:37.51\00:38:41.18 Were they faithful Israelites? 00:38:41.22\00:38:43.62 Did they look forward to the Messiah? 00:38:43.65\00:38:45.29 Jesus said, Abraham saw My day and what? rejoiced. John 8:56. 00:38:45.32\00:38:50.43 These all saw the Messiah coming in the future. 00:38:50.46\00:38:53.60 They accepted Jesus Christ in promise. 00:38:53.63\00:38:56.26 So it says once again, And I say to you that many will come from 00:38:56.30\00:38:59.73 east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob 00:38:59.77\00:39:03.81 in the kingdom of heaven: But the sons of the kingdom... 00:39:03.84\00:39:07.08 Who are those? the sons of the kingdom? the literal Jews. 00:39:07.11\00:39:11.01 ...the sons of the kingdom... 00:39:11.05\00:39:12.38 That reject Jesus, incidentally. 00:39:12.41\00:39:14.35 ...will be cast out into outer darkness: there will be weeping 00:39:14.38\00:39:18.92 and gnashing of teeth. 00:39:18.95\00:39:20.69 How many tables are there going to be in the kingdom? 00:39:20.72\00:39:23.39 How many banquet tables? 00:39:23.43\00:39:24.86 One for the Jews, and the other one on the other side of 00:39:24.89\00:39:28.06 town for the Gentiles? Absolutely not! 00:39:28.10\00:39:31.00 One table, composed of Jews and Gentiles. 00:39:31.03\00:39:34.97 Next point: Jesus Christ has only one spiritual temple. 00:39:35.00\00:39:40.04 Notice what we find in Ephesians 2:19-22, Ephesians 2:19-22. 00:39:40.08\00:39:48.25 Here the apostle Paul says, Now therefore you are no longer 00:39:48.28\00:39:52.02 strangers and foreigners,... 00:39:52.05\00:39:54.09 Speaking about the Gentiles, very clearly. 00:39:54.12\00:39:57.13 Now therefore you are no longer strangers and foreigners, 00:39:57.16\00:40:00.13 but fellow citizens with the saints, and members of 00:40:00.16\00:40:06.47 the household of God. 00:40:06.50\00:40:07.87 Does that sound like they're a separable people? 00:40:07.90\00:40:10.37 Absolutely not! So he says, 00:40:10.41\00:40:13.14 Now therefore you are no longer strangers and foreigners, 00:40:13.17\00:40:15.61 but fellow citizens with the saints, and members of 00:40:15.64\00:40:18.71 the household of God; having been built on the foundation 00:40:18.75\00:40:23.22 of the apostles and prophets,... 00:40:23.25\00:40:25.35 Is that Old and New Testament? apostles and prophets? Yes. 00:40:25.39\00:40:28.82 ...upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, 00:40:28.86\00:40:31.53 Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone;... 00:40:31.56\00:40:36.70 What determines whether you belong to the temple? 00:40:36.73\00:40:39.27 to the one temple or not? 00:40:39.30\00:40:40.64 Whether you're built on the foundation of the apostles 00:40:40.67\00:40:42.60 and prophets; Old/New Testament. 00:40:42.64\00:40:44.01 But the chief cornerstone that you build on is whom? 00:40:44.04\00:40:47.21 Jesus Christ. Now notice what it continues saying. 00:40:47.24\00:40:50.18 In whom the whole building... 00:40:50.21\00:40:52.55 That is the temple. 00:40:52.58\00:40:53.92 ...being joined together grows into a holy temple in the Lord: 00:40:53.95\00:41:00.22 In whom you also... 00:41:00.26\00:41:02.76 He's speaking to the Gentiles. 00:41:02.79\00:41:04.13 In whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place 00:41:04.16\00:41:08.06 of God in the Spirit. 00:41:08.10\00:41:10.60 How many temples does Jesus have? 00:41:10.63\00:41:12.97 He has one temple with foundations from Old 00:41:13.00\00:41:16.64 and the New Testament, apostles and prophets. 00:41:16.67\00:41:19.01 Jesus Christ is the chief corner stone of the one temple, 00:41:19.04\00:41:22.64 and the temple is composed of Jews and Gentiles. 00:41:22.68\00:41:27.38 So, by the way, when prophecy says that the antichrist 00:41:27.42\00:41:31.59 is going to sit in the temple of God, showing himself to be God, 00:41:31.62\00:41:36.52 what temple is that talking about? 00:41:36.56\00:41:38.73 Is that talking about the literal Jewish temple 00:41:38.76\00:41:41.86 over in the Middle East where a nasty individual is going to sit 00:41:41.90\00:41:45.33 after the rapture of the church? 00:41:45.37\00:41:47.30 Never does the apostle Paul use the word temple in that sense. 00:41:47.34\00:41:51.44 You see, this is a spiritual temple, 00:41:51.47\00:41:54.58 with spiritual foundations, a spiritual chief cornerstone, 00:41:54.61\00:41:59.38 and spiritual stones built up upon the foundation, 00:41:59.41\00:42:03.59 as 1 Peter 2 says. 00:42:03.62\00:42:06.42 The next point that I would like to make is that the 00:42:06.45\00:42:10.43 redeemed from every nation, kindred, tongue, and people 00:42:10.46\00:42:13.80 will sing only one song. 00:42:13.83\00:42:17.57 You say, What's that? 00:42:17.60\00:42:18.93 You mean to say that the Jews aren't going to sing 00:42:18.97\00:42:21.57 The song of Moses? and the redeemed at the end 00:42:21.60\00:42:24.31 are going to sing the song of the Lamb? 00:42:24.34\00:42:25.84 Go with me to Revelation 15: 3, 4, Revelation 15:3, 4. 00:42:25.87\00:42:33.45 It's speaking about the redeemed. It says: 00:42:33.48\00:42:35.25 Is that Old and New Testament, by the way? 00:42:41.66\00:42:45.23 Was Moses in the Old Testament? Yes. 00:42:45.26\00:42:48.00 The Lamb, the New Testament. 00:42:48.03\00:42:50.97 And so it says: They sing the song of Moses, the servant 00:42:51.00\00:42:54.40 of God and the song of the Lamb saying, Great and marvelous are 00:42:54.44\00:42:58.01 Your works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are Your ways, 00:42:58.04\00:43:01.64 O King of the saints. 00:43:01.68\00:43:03.01 So the redeemed will sing only one song, and it is the song of 00:43:14.26\00:43:18.33 Moses and the Lamb. 00:43:18.36\00:43:19.96 One song that includes Old Testament 00:43:20.00\00:43:22.60 and New Testament Christians. 00:43:22.63\00:43:26.20 Another point that I would like to make, and I believe that 00:43:26.23\00:43:29.20 this is number 10, is that the redeemed will 00:43:29.24\00:43:31.94 have only one father. 00:43:31.97\00:43:33.31 And that one father is defined by your 00:43:33.34\00:43:37.01 relationship to Jesus Christ. 00:43:37.05\00:43:38.65 Only those who have received Jesus are technically sons 00:43:38.68\00:43:43.08 and daughters of God. 00:43:43.12\00:43:44.45 It doesn't matter if you're a literal Jew 00:43:44.49\00:43:46.72 or if you're a Gentile. 00:43:46.76\00:43:48.19 If you receive Jesus as your Savior and Lord, 00:43:48.22\00:43:50.99 you are a brother or sister of Jesus, and therefore a son 00:43:51.03\00:43:55.16 or a daughter of God. 00:43:55.20\00:43:57.07 Notice Galatians 3:26, Galatians 3:26. 00:43:57.10\00:44:03.24 How is it that we become sons and daughters of God? 00:44:13.11\00:44:15.62 through faith in Christ Jesus. 00:44:15.65\00:44:18.05 So let me ask you, What if we don't have 00:44:18.09\00:44:19.82 faith in Christ Jesus, like most of those who are over 00:44:19.85\00:44:23.83 They don't have faith in Jesus Christ. 00:44:24.29\00:44:25.93 Are they sons and daughters of God in the spiritual 00:44:25.96\00:44:28.93 sense of the word? 00:44:28.96\00:44:30.30 By creation, yes, but not by redemption. 00:44:30.33\00:44:33.37 Notice John 1:12, 13, John 1: 12, 13. 00:44:33.40\00:44:39.27 Notice this, very clear. 00:44:39.31\00:44:41.24 But as many as received Him,... 00:44:41.28\00:44:43.35 That is received Jesus. 00:44:43.38\00:44:44.91 ...to them He gave the right to become children of God. 00:44:44.95\00:44:49.08 How do we become children of God? those who what? 00:44:49.12\00:44:52.49 received Him, to them He gave the right to 00:44:52.52\00:44:56.02 become children of God. 00:44:56.06\00:44:57.39 To those who believe in His what? name. 00:44:57.43\00:45:01.90 Who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, 00:45:01.93\00:45:05.37 nor of the will of man, but of God. 00:45:05.40\00:45:09.34 So let me explain how this works. 00:45:09.37\00:45:12.17 It's very interesting. 00:45:12.21\00:45:14.28 See, the only individual who really deserves to be called 00:45:14.31\00:45:18.08 the Son of God is Jesus Christ. 00:45:18.11\00:45:20.02 We are all, all the rest of us juvenile delinquents. 00:45:20.05\00:45:24.02 In other words, we are alienated. 00:45:24.05\00:45:28.46 We are by nature children of wrath, according to the Bible. 00:45:28.49\00:45:31.69 In sin our mother conceived us, the Scripture says. 00:45:31.73\00:45:35.26 So we're alienated from the covenants of the promise. 00:45:35.30\00:45:38.33 We belong to the family of the first Adam; 00:45:38.37\00:45:40.17 the family of the lost. 00:45:40.20\00:45:41.54 So the question is, How do we join the family of the saved? 00:45:41.57\00:45:46.88 Well, Jesus is the only one who deserves to be called the Son of 00:45:46.91\00:45:50.35 God; the only faithful Son of God. 00:45:50.38\00:45:52.78 So do you know what happens? 00:45:52.81\00:45:54.62 When I receive Jesus Christ as my Savior and as my Lord, 00:45:54.65\00:45:57.95 and I believe and have faith in His name? 00:45:57.99\00:46:01.36 I become His brother, or I become His sister. 00:46:01.39\00:46:08.33 And so now, because I'm a brother of Jesus, 00:46:08.36\00:46:12.43 because I receive Him as my Savior, now Jesus comes before 00:46:12.47\00:46:16.60 the Father and He says, Father, I have a new brother. 00:46:16.64\00:46:19.27 Oh really, what's his name? 00:46:19.31\00:46:21.74 Well, his name is Pastor Stephen Bohr. 00:46:21.78\00:46:24.48 The Father says, No kidding! 00:46:24.51\00:46:26.85 Stephen Bohr is your brother? 00:46:26.88\00:46:28.22 Well, if he's your brother, He's My Son, too. 00:46:28.25\00:46:30.89 In other words, the only way in which we can be sons and 00:46:30.92\00:46:36.12 daughters of God, is become brothers or 00:46:36.16\00:46:38.89 sisters of Jesus Christ. 00:46:38.93\00:46:40.76 That's why we're told in Hebrews 2 that He is not ashamed 00:46:40.80\00:46:44.57 to call us brethren. 00:46:44.60\00:46:46.37 And that's what Jesus meant when He said in John 14:6, 00:46:46.40\00:46:49.70 I am the way, the truth, and the life. 00:46:49.74\00:46:52.34 No man comes onto the Father except by me. 00:46:52.37\00:46:56.88 Only through Him do we become Sons and Daughters of God. 00:46:56.91\00:47:00.65 So if we have not accepted Jesus Christ, we do not belong 00:47:00.68\00:47:03.99 to the family of God. 00:47:04.02\00:47:05.35 And I know that that's not a popular thing to say, 00:47:05.39\00:47:08.32 because everybody's, Oh, we're all God's children. 00:47:08.36\00:47:11.79 We are God's children by creation. 00:47:11.83\00:47:15.00 But we have to become His children by redemption, 00:47:15.03\00:47:18.10 or else we will be eternally lost children. 00:47:18.13\00:47:21.60 Now I want you to notice John 8: 32-44. 00:47:21.64\00:47:26.04 Here Jesus is speaking to a group of literal Jews. 00:47:26.07\00:47:29.91 He says to them, "And you shall know the truth, 00:47:29.94\00:47:33.65 and the truth shall make you free. " 00:47:33.68\00:47:36.32 They answered Him, We are Abraham's descendents. 00:47:36.35\00:47:39.55 Actually in the Greek it says, We are Abraham's seed. 00:47:39.59\00:47:42.09 It's the same word that's used elsewhere. 00:47:42.12\00:47:44.29 We are Abraham's seed, and have never been in bondage to anyone. 00:47:44.33\00:47:49.20 How can you say, You will be made free? 00:47:49.23\00:47:52.13 Jesus answered them, Most assuredly I say to you, 00:47:52.17\00:47:56.10 Whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. 00:47:56.14\00:47:58.54 See, He's speaking spiritually. 00:47:58.57\00:47:59.91 He's not speaking literally. 00:47:59.94\00:48:01.28 And a slave does not abide in the house forever: 00:48:01.31\00:48:04.21 but a what? a son abides forever. 00:48:04.25\00:48:07.35 He's saying, If you haven't received Me, 00:48:07.38\00:48:09.22 you are slaves of sin. 00:48:09.25\00:48:11.39 And if you're slaves of sin, then you're not a son. 00:48:11.42\00:48:14.96 He says, But a son abides forever. 00:48:14.99\00:48:18.59 Therefore if the son makes you free,... 00:48:18.63\00:48:21.90 That is if I make you free, you shall be free what? free indeed. 00:48:21.93\00:48:26.40 And then He says, I know that you are Abraham's seed. 00:48:26.43\00:48:29.54 I know that you're literally Abraham's seed, 00:48:29.57\00:48:32.61 is what Jesus is saying, but you seek to kill Me, 00:48:32.64\00:48:35.28 because My Word has no place in you. 00:48:35.31\00:48:37.28 I speak what I have seen with My Father. 00:48:37.31\00:48:40.02 You do what you have seen with your Father. 00:48:40.05\00:48:42.62 They answered and said to Him, Abraham is our father. 00:48:42.65\00:48:46.09 Jesus said to them, If you were Abraham's children, you would do 00:48:46.12\00:48:50.16 the works of Abraham. 00:48:50.19\00:48:51.53 Now He's going to say, You're not Abraham's children at all. 00:48:51.56\00:48:53.53 I know that you literally are, physically are, but you really 00:48:53.56\00:48:56.77 are not Abraham's children. 00:48:56.80\00:48:58.13 You're not Abraham's seed. 00:48:58.17\00:48:59.50 Verse 40. But now you seek to kill Me, a man who has told you 00:48:59.53\00:49:03.51 the truth, which I heard from God. 00:49:03.54\00:49:05.01 Abraham did not do this. 00:49:05.04\00:49:07.18 You do the deeds of your father. 00:49:07.21\00:49:10.81 Then they said to Him, We were not born of fornication. 00:49:10.85\00:49:13.65 We have one Father, God. 00:49:13.68\00:49:16.02 Jesus said to them, If God were your Father, you would love Me: 00:49:16.05\00:49:19.52 for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of 00:49:19.55\00:49:23.16 Myself, but He sent Me. 00:49:23.19\00:49:24.76 In other words, Jesus is saying, Abraham loved Me. 00:49:24.79\00:49:28.20 My Father loves Me. 00:49:28.23\00:49:29.96 You hate Me, so how can you say that My Father is Your 00:49:30.00\00:49:33.94 Father, and that Abraham is your father, 00:49:33.97\00:49:36.14 because your spirit is totally opposite? 00:49:36.17\00:49:38.97 Verse 43. Why do you not understand My speech? 00:49:39.01\00:49:42.31 because you are not able to listen to My Word. 00:49:42.34\00:49:44.51 Jesus did say some politically incorrect things. 00:49:47.18\00:49:50.52 In fact, the apostle Paul in Galatians 4 speaks about Hagar 00:50:08.30\00:50:13.98 and Sarah, and Ishmael and Isaac. 00:50:14.01\00:50:17.81 You know, the Jews claimed to be descendents of whom? 00:50:17.85\00:50:21.22 of Sarah and Isaac. 00:50:21.25\00:50:23.05 But do you know what the apostle Paul says 00:50:23.08\00:50:25.29 in Galatians 4? He says, You folks, the Jerusalem that is 00:50:25.32\00:50:29.52 now, and the Jews that were at mount Sinai, He says, 00:50:29.56\00:50:33.36 You are sons and daughters of Hagar and Ishmael. 00:50:33.40\00:50:36.97 In other words, He's saying, He's to them, You are not 00:50:37.00\00:50:42.30 children of Isaac. 00:50:42.34\00:50:44.27 You are children of the slave woman. 00:50:44.31\00:50:47.04 In other words, what determines whether you belong to the people 00:50:47.08\00:50:51.45 of God is your relationship to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. 00:50:51.48\00:50:57.05 Now I want to go through this very quickly, because we have 00:50:57.09\00:51:00.69 a very short period of time left. 00:51:00.72\00:51:03.26 And so I'm just going to synthesize the last part 00:51:03.29\00:51:05.79 of what you have on your sheets. 00:51:05.83\00:51:07.76 In Deuteronomy 28:63, 64 God promised Israel that if they 00:51:07.80\00:51:13.17 were unfaithful to Him, He would scatter them among the nations. 00:51:13.20\00:51:17.01 But then He promised in Deuteronomy 30:3-5 that if they 00:51:17.04\00:51:22.48 repented, and they returned to the Lord, the Lord would gather 00:51:22.51\00:51:27.58 them from where He had scattered them. 00:51:27.62\00:51:30.09 So these are the scattering and gathering prophecies. 00:51:30.12\00:51:34.32 Now it's important to realize that the gathering, and the 00:51:34.36\00:51:38.89 scattering, the important aspect was not the land. 00:51:38.93\00:51:43.26 In other words, what I'm saying is God had chosen the land 00:51:43.30\00:51:47.74 as His dwelling place. 00:51:47.77\00:51:49.10 And so if they had a bad relationship with Him in the 00:51:49.14\00:51:52.11 land, they would be scattered. 00:51:52.14\00:51:54.04 If they had a good relationship with Him in the land, 00:51:54.08\00:51:58.25 they would be gathered. 00:51:58.28\00:51:59.75 In other words, the key was not to be gathered to the land, 00:51:59.78\00:52:02.85 the key was to be gathered to the Lord, who was in the land. 00:52:02.88\00:52:06.55 Now Jesus gave a profound interpretation to the gathering 00:52:06.59\00:52:11.39 and the scattering prophecies. 00:52:11.43\00:52:13.43 In fact Jesus is going to say, Do you know that it's possible 00:52:13.46\00:52:16.60 for you to live in Jerusalem and still be scattered? 00:52:16.63\00:52:18.97 And it's possible for you to live out there among the 00:52:21.30\00:52:24.34 Gentiles and to be gathered. 00:52:24.37\00:52:25.87 You say, Now how is that? 00:52:25.91\00:52:27.58 Go with me to Luke 11, Luke 11: 23. Jesus says here: 00:52:27.61\00:52:33.82 He who is not with me... 00:52:33.85\00:52:35.88 He who is not what? who is not with Me, he is against Me. 00:52:35.92\00:52:40.76 And He who does not gather with Me scatters. 00:52:40.79\00:52:44.13 What was the key? being gathered to the land, or being gathered 00:52:44.16\00:52:46.90 to the Lord? It was being gathered to the Lord. 00:52:46.93\00:52:49.73 And Jesus says, If you don't gather to Me, you what? 00:52:49.76\00:52:53.50 you scatter. Let's go once again to the experience of Caiaphas 00:52:53.54\00:52:59.77 when he said, It's necessary for one man to die, and not that the 00:52:59.81\00:53:04.31 whole nation perish. John 11:51, 52. 00:53:04.35\00:53:07.62 It explains what this means. 00:53:07.65\00:53:09.58 He prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation; 00:53:09.62\00:53:12.69 And not for that nation only, but also that he would what? 00:53:12.72\00:53:17.49 that he would gather in one the children of God who were 00:53:17.53\00:53:23.30 what? scattered. But they were going to be gathered to where? 00:53:23.33\00:53:26.50 Was the key being gathered to Jerusalem the place? 00:53:26.53\00:53:29.80 Or was the key being gathered to the Lord? 00:53:29.84\00:53:32.67 It was to be gathered to the Lord, even though they lived 00:53:32.71\00:53:35.88 all over the Roman empire. 00:53:35.91\00:53:37.55 By the way, when Jesus left the Jewish temple, 00:53:37.58\00:53:41.32 notice what He said: Matthew 23: 37, 38. 00:53:41.35\00:53:44.92 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets, 00:53:44.95\00:53:48.89 and stones those who are sent to her. 00:53:48.92\00:53:51.49 How often I wanted to... 00:53:51.53\00:53:53.70 What's the key word there? 00:53:53.73\00:53:55.06 ...I wanted to gather you as a hen gathers her 00:53:55.10\00:54:00.04 chicks under her wings... 00:54:00.07\00:54:01.40 Who were they going to be gathered to? the city, the land, 00:54:01.44\00:54:05.77 or the Lord? the Lord. 00:54:05.81\00:54:08.24 And then He says, but you were not willing. 00:54:08.28\00:54:13.35 See your house is left to you desolate. 00:54:13.38\00:54:16.85 And, by the way, in another gospel He speaks about them 00:54:16.89\00:54:19.75 being scattered among the nations, because they refused 00:54:19.79\00:54:23.12 to be gathered to the Lord. 00:54:23.16\00:54:24.86 Jesus explains what it means to be gathered in Matthew 18:20. 00:54:24.89\00:54:30.17 He says: For where two or three are what? gathered together 00:54:30.20\00:54:41.58 in My name, I am there in the midst of them. 00:54:41.61\00:54:45.71 Let me ask you then, Where is the holy land? 00:54:45.78\00:54:47.68 The holy land is where Jesus is. 00:54:51.05\00:54:53.49 And where is Jesus? 00:54:53.52\00:54:55.56 He's in heaven, but spiritually He's where? all over the world, 00:54:55.59\00:55:01.20 through the presence of the Holy Spirit. 00:55:01.23\00:55:03.00 So where is Jesus? 00:55:03.03\00:55:04.57 Jesus is worldwide through the ministration of the Holy Spirit. 00:55:04.60\00:55:08.94 And where there are two or three gathered in His name, 00:55:08.97\00:55:11.71 there is the holy land, because present there is the Holy Lord. 00:55:11.74\00:55:17.18 In other words, it wasn't the land that was important, 00:55:17.21\00:55:21.35 it was the Lord in the land. 00:55:21.38\00:55:23.18 If they had a bad relationship with the Lord in the land, 00:55:23.22\00:55:26.29 they were scattered. 00:55:26.32\00:55:27.66 If they repented they were once again gathered. 00:55:27.69\00:55:29.99 But the key was the Lord not the land. 00:55:30.03\00:55:32.59 Now let me as you, When were these prophecies of the 00:55:32.63\00:55:36.06 gathering finally fulfilled? those who were scattered? 00:55:36.10\00:55:39.70 When were these prophecies fulfilled that they were 00:55:39.73\00:55:42.17 gathered into one? 00:55:42.20\00:55:44.91 Acts 2 has the answer, verse 1. 00:55:44.94\00:55:48.08 When the day of Pentecost had fully come, 00:55:48.11\00:55:50.98 they were all with one accord in one place. 00:55:51.01\00:55:54.65 Had these people accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord? 00:55:54.68\00:55:59.69 They were all gathered, right? 00:55:59.72\00:56:02.66 Were they gathered from many different nations? 00:56:02.69\00:56:05.36 Was the place the key part here? 00:56:05.39\00:56:07.70 It wasn't the place. 00:56:07.73\00:56:09.06 They were gathered there. 00:56:09.10\00:56:10.43 They were gathered to the Lord. 00:56:10.47\00:56:11.83 Notice verse 7. They were people from all nations. 00:56:11.87\00:56:14.24 Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, 00:56:14.27\00:56:17.31 Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? 00:56:17.34\00:56:19.91 And how is it that we hear each in our own language 00:56:19.94\00:56:23.28 in which we were born? 00:56:23.31\00:56:24.65 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and those dwelling in 00:56:24.68\00:56:28.42 Mesopotamia, Judea, and Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, 00:56:28.45\00:56:32.05 Phrygia, Pamphylia, in Egypt, in the parts of Libya adjoining 00:56:32.09\00:56:36.09 Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans, 00:56:36.12\00:56:40.13 and Arabs, who hear them speaking in our own tongues 00:56:40.16\00:56:43.23 the wonderful works of God. 00:56:43.26\00:56:44.60 Who were they gathered to? 00:56:44.63\00:56:46.23 They were gathered to Jesus Christ from 00:56:46.27\00:56:48.74 all parts of the empire. 00:56:48.77\00:56:50.67 So let me synthesize it. 00:56:50.71\00:56:53.17 What makes you a true Israelite is not that you are gathered 00:56:53.21\00:56:57.48 to the holy land, but that you are gathered to the Holy Lord. 00:56:57.51\00:57:02.18 If you are in the holy land, and have rejected the Holy Lord, 00:57:02.22\00:57:06.86 you are scattered. 00:57:06.89\00:57:09.76 So where is prophecy going to be fulfilled? in the literal land 00:57:09.82\00:57:14.93 of the Middle East, with people who do not receive Jesus Christ? 00:57:14.96\00:57:19.90 No! It will be worldwide Babylon against worldwide Jerusalem. 00:57:19.93\00:57:26.34
