First of all, God is moving

around the Middle
East in unreached areas.

Three years ago,
there was a large

unreached city of
4.5 million people
00:09:17.42\00:09:20.06
that did not have one
Seventh-day Adventist.
00:09:20.09\00:09:22.02
And a few months ago,
00:09:22.06\00:09:23.39
we were able to
go to that place,
00:09:23.43\00:09:25.79
city unnamed, and organize
a Seventh-day Adventist church
00:09:25.83\00:09:30.53
with about 60 people in it.

And we praise
God for His leading.

We also have
very special stories

that are going on
in the lives of people.

And I have one story,
I'll share real quickly.

There was a young man

from one of our
countries living in London

and one day he felt a
very strong impression by God

that he needed to go
back to his home country,

he said, "Why God, I
don't really want to go.
00:09:59.13\00:10:02.50
It's raining, it's wintertime."
00:10:02.53\00:10:04.57
It's about a year ago now.

And God gave him an
impression again, "Go back."
00:10:06.47\00:10:10.54
And so as he was
back in his home city
00:10:10.57\00:10:12.87
of about 15 million people
00:10:12.91\00:10:15.64
walking from a ferry
terminal to university,
00:10:15.68\00:10:18.85
he happened to pass by
a special literature rack

of Seventh-day
Adventist literature.

And at that rack, he
felt magnetically drawn,
00:10:26.02\00:10:29.76
and he came and he picked
up a book off of that rack,

and as he opened it up,

he couldn't keep
his eyes off of it.

And he started
reading and he sat down,

and in two days he
read from cover to cover,

book, his life was changed.

visions to the Prophet Daniel

to help him to understand

what would be
coming in the latter days

in God's mission and
purpose for His people.

You can look at
the end of Daniel 8

and you understand that

after these
visions Daniel was given,

oftentimes he never
understood the message.

Daniel 8, "Daniel fall sick

and distressed at
the end of a vision."

But I want you to turn
with me to Daniel 12 tonight

and we see
something very similar,

God's closing words to Daniel.

Daniel 12:4, it
says, "But you Daniel,

shut up the words,

and seal the book, until," what?

"The time of the end.

Many shall run to and fro,
and knowledge shall increase.

that these prophetic messages

would be sealed up until when?

Until the time of the end.

Then he goes on to explain that
that time would be after times,

times, and half a
time, and we understand

as good Bible students

that that time
period would end in 1798.

And then the Book of
Daniel would be what?

God had a prophetic
message to give to His people.

But it wasn't for
the time of Daniel,

given to that prophet.

But Revelation 4 tells
who these messages were for

and who the movement would be,

It's interesting that
as we look through history,

That people would run to and fro

and that knowledge
would be increased.

And as you search the
history of the Christian church,

it's amazing to find
that religious leaders

all around the world
independent of one another,

began to have a renewed study
of the prophecies of Daniel.

Among them were such people
as Edward Irving in England,
00:43:14.36\00:43:17.69
Joseph Wolfe in India,
00:43:17.73\00:43:19.26
Manuel Lacunza in South America,
00:43:19.29\00:43:21.63
Johann Bengel in Germany,
and one of our familiar ones,
00:43:21.66\00:43:24.43
William Miller in
the United States.
00:43:24.47\00:43:26.94
And as these
people began studying
00:43:26.97\00:43:29.34
the prophecies of
Daniel, it renewed their hearts
00:43:29.37\00:43:33.24
with the hope
of the Word of God.
00:43:33.27\00:43:35.74
And it was one of the sweetest
experiences they ever had.

Notice how Revelation 12
goes on to describe this.

began to see this message,

they were inspired
with the truths of God

and they began to sacrifice

and lay off anything
that encumbered them.

Many people
sacrificed all that they had

to give to the cause of God.

I can think of a man by
the name of Charles Fitch

who was so inspired
that Jesus was coming soon

when he met a group of believers

who wanted to be
baptized in the fall of 1844,
00:45:06.94\00:45:10.34
he led them to Lake
Erie and baptized them
00:45:10.37\00:45:12.77
in very cold water.
00:45:12.81\00:45:14.91
When he was done
baptizing them he went back,
00:45:14.94\00:45:16.91
and as he was going back,
00:45:16.95\00:45:18.28
he found another
group of these people,
00:45:18.31\00:45:19.91
believers who
want to be baptized
00:45:19.95\00:45:21.42
before Jesus came.
00:45:21.45\00:45:22.85
So still wet and
cold to the bone,

he goes back to Lake Erie
to baptize this next group.

After finishing
that, he was shivering

and his clothes
are stuck to them,

and he meets yet a third group.

river and baptizes these people

that Jesus was coming soon,

nothing more important

than finishing His work.

Charles Fitch
soon caught pneumonia

and within a few
days passed away.

Just a few short days

before Jesus was
supposed to come.

But his wife wasn't worried,

They believed the
sweet message of this book.

have a bitter disappointment.

this used to embarrass me.

How did we get it wrong?
Was that the end of our work?

how the disciples

but yet the Lord still used them

New Testament church.

this disappointment,

with the Advent movement.

last maybe a couple months,

possibly hold this on forever.

And so on our first week,

young adults showed up.
