The first is of
a sensitive nature,

It's the testimony of a
former orthodox clergyman.

the risk to his safety

I am telling you his testimony.

In the order and the
community where they lived,

they take a vow for simplicity.

So they have very few belongings

because they have
devoted their lives

to religious things.

And this particular
clergyman his name is Alias,

we'll call him Alias,

came up on a Bible
00:11:11.83\00:11:14.10
that was translated by
a local Adventist pastor.
00:11:14.14\00:11:18.91
And in reading the Bible
00:11:18.94\00:11:20.28
which actually is
forbidden among this clergyman,
00:11:20.31\00:11:23.71
he discovered wonderful truths.
00:11:23.75\00:11:27.72
And he couldn't have
believed what he was reading.
00:11:27.75\00:11:33.25
They have Steps to
Christ that he was reading.
00:11:33.29\00:11:38.09
And he was reading these
things and he was so overjoyed,
00:11:38.13\00:11:40.93
he felt that he just had
to share it with someone.
00:11:40.96\00:11:44.90
And so with his
closest confidants,

he would share
these truths in the Bible.

He was
discovered for these truths

were not necessarily
well received by all.

They took him
out into the woods,

they removed his shoes,

and they beat the
bottom of his feet.

Now you need to understand

because they have
this vow of simplicity

that they don't
have many belongings

and so the way they travel
and get around is by walking.

how this disabled and
this injury affected him.

They tied him to a tree,

and this was very
disturbing for him

because he remembers that others

who were under punishment

were tied to a tree
and left for three days.

And if they lived,

if they weren't
eaten by wild animals,

then they were admitted
back into the community.

But he praised God

because they tied him
to a tree just for an hour.

But they
threatened him and they said,

"You will not tell these truths.

You keep these
things to yourself."

But he could not. How could he?

How could we keep the
truths of God to ourselves?

So he continues

in a very
clandestine and secret way

to share with his
brothers in that community.

The truths, the full truths,
present truth of the Bible,

and what he's learning
and reading Steps to Christ.

We were able to talk
with another clergyman

who indicated that
00:13:47.79\00:13:50.09
because of the
sharing of these truths

and he was
discovered, they broke his arm.

And because
they don't have much,

he didn't have the resources
to seek medical assistance.

And so for four months he
lived with that broken arm.

And it wasn't until
he was able to go out

and visit the SDA
pastor, the Adventist pastor.

The pastor see what happened
and was able to raise funds

and get him the
medical assistance.

When they went to the doctor,
00:14:24.16\00:14:25.59
the physician looked at
this injury and exclaimed,

"But why have you
now brought him to me?

I don't even know
if I can save his arm."

In examination he determined

that he needed to actually
cut off part of the bone

before he
reattached to reset the arm.

And so now

this former clergyman

has one arm
shorter than the other

because he dared to
share Christ with another.

Another clergyman

wanted to give a
specific message to us,

here in the west they say.

And he said this.

Our time of persecution is now

for sharing the gospel,
for telling others about Jesus.

But he says to the west,

That to me is an admonition,
that while we still have time,

being killed for their faith

just because they
call themselves Christians.

We are so blessed.

But we have an obligation

advantage of this time

had recently converted
from Islam to Christianity.

The girls were captured
and raped by their imams.

And arrangements were made
for them to marry Muslim men.

In Tanzania girls

can be legally
married at age 15.

Fortunately this
marriages didn't take place

There are many
factors contributing

to this education crisis,

that demands scrutiny

and attention is the
plight of the vulnerable girl.

Some research shows
