Thousands of songs have been written 00:00:01.33\00:00:02.66 about the most important story in the history of mankind. 00:00:02.70\00:00:05.97 The sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross 00:00:06.57\00:00:09.60 has inspired millions to give Him their hearts. 00:00:09.80\00:00:13.04 Now we invite you to join us as we lift up Jesus Christ 00:00:13.24\00:00:17.31 on this special 3ABN presentation: 00:00:17.51\00:00:20.48 with 00:00:22.98\00:00:24.72 And now: Calvary: Love Found A Way. 00:00:52.51\00:00:55.85 Amen! Praise the Lord! 00:03:18.39\00:03:20.20 Beautiful! Thank you so much. 00:03:20.40\00:03:22.73 Beautiful! I'm going to ask Lanny Wolfe to come up. 00:03:23.13\00:03:26.27 Come up here just a second a little farther. 00:03:26.70\00:03:28.34 Lanny, you wrote this song. It's a beautiful song! 00:03:28.54\00:03:31.31 And the folks out here... you get to see better than we do 00:03:31.71\00:03:34.94 some of the LED lights and some of the different 00:03:35.14\00:03:38.78 pictures they'll put up and video that go along 00:03:38.98\00:03:41.75 with some of these songs. And I want to thank our crew 00:03:41.95\00:03:44.15 for doing an incredible job on that. 00:03:44.35\00:03:46.39 But tell us a little bit just quickly about this song. 00:03:46.82\00:03:49.76 What inspired you to write it? 00:03:49.99\00:03:51.86 This is a lullaby Mary is singing to the Lamb. 00:03:52.36\00:03:55.73 In a stable she's holding the Lamb of God. 00:03:56.13\00:03:58.83 And so Mary is saying: "Rest, tiny hands; 00:03:59.03\00:04:02.00 rest tiny heart; rest tiny eyes. " 00:04:02.20\00:04:05.41 And so she goes through all these items 00:04:05.61\00:04:08.01 basically singing a lullaby to the precious Lamb of God. 00:04:08.21\00:04:11.38 It's that simple. All right. 00:04:11.58\00:04:13.08 Melody. 00:04:13.28\00:04:14.82 Beautiful! 00:10:06.33\00:10:08.00 I'm going to ask Lanny to walk back up again. 00:10:09.77\00:10:12.21 We're getting ready to do a song called It Was Love. 00:10:12.41\00:10:14.64 And you remember about a year and a half or so ago 00:10:14.94\00:10:17.51 that we did a project called Hallelujah! We're Home At Last! 00:10:17.71\00:10:20.88 And on that project Yvonne and I wrote a song 00:10:21.28\00:10:24.62 and I said: "All of these songs were on the second coming 00:10:25.02\00:10:28.46 but this is all on Calvary. " 00:10:28.66\00:10:31.33 So the second coming, we decided to look from 00:10:31.53\00:10:34.30 heaven's perspective what would be happening 00:10:34.50\00:10:37.40 instead of just as humans looking up 00:10:37.60\00:10:40.27 what happens in heaven. So when Jesus stands up 00:10:40.47\00:10:43.94 heaven is changed forevermore. 00:10:44.14\00:10:45.57 So in this project I said: "We've got a lot of songs 00:10:45.77\00:10:48.21 about the cross and Christ and Calvary, 00:10:48.41\00:10:50.78 but what about something from heaven's perspective? " 00:10:51.05\00:10:54.15 So I began to talk to Lanny and I said: "You know, I wonder: 00:10:54.32\00:10:58.19 did angels question God's master plan when man fell from grace? 00:10:58.39\00:11:02.59 Could redemption be bought or would the price be too great? " 00:11:02.89\00:11:06.09 Just kind of led him into it from there. 00:11:06.29\00:11:08.16 He took it - and your daughter, you might tell us about it - 00:11:08.56\00:11:12.07 and came up with a finished song. 00:11:12.27\00:11:14.27 So I really can't take much credit for this. 00:11:14.47\00:11:16.44 We give all credit to God but in the fleshly sense 00:11:16.67\00:11:19.54 I'm honest, Lanny, that you and your daughter wrote most of this 00:11:19.74\00:11:23.41 but thanks for letting me have a little part in it. 00:11:23.61\00:11:25.91 Beautiful song! Thank you, Danny. The important thing 00:11:26.11\00:11:29.25 in this song is that Danny planted the seed 00:11:29.45\00:11:33.09 because without the question "Did angels question? " 00:11:33.42\00:11:36.32 then the song... the tree doesn't grow. 00:11:36.52\00:11:38.89 So Danny gave us the seed, and then my daughter, 00:11:39.09\00:11:42.73 Lanna-Marie, who is just a wonderful song writer, 00:11:42.93\00:11:45.07 and I took the seed and watered the seed. 00:11:45.47\00:11:49.84 And basically from the first two or three lines 00:11:50.04\00:11:52.84 we finished the song. Basically, when this happens 00:11:53.04\00:11:55.58 the best way I co-write is: "Give me what you have 00:11:55.78\00:11:58.61 and leave me alone. " Get out of his way! 00:11:58.81\00:12:00.52 Get out of my way and let me finish the song. 00:12:01.45\00:12:03.52 And... we came back together on the song called It Was Love. 00:12:03.92\00:12:09.92 All right. Ladye Love, can you help me with this? 00:12:10.33\00:12:13.80 Amen! Praise the Lord! Thank you, Ladye. 00:17:26.07\00:17:29.94 The next song we're going to do is entitled, we entitled it 00:17:31.48\00:17:34.92 Gethsemane. 00:17:35.12\00:17:36.45 And were were rushing to get a lot of songs done 00:17:36.48\00:17:39.65 and try to write some new ones. 00:17:39.85\00:17:41.59 And the night before we went down to Nashville 00:17:41.79\00:17:44.13 to track the songs I was sitting with my guitar 00:17:44.33\00:17:47.60 and this little tune came to me. 00:17:47.83\00:17:50.13 And the words just seemed like they just literally flowed. 00:17:50.33\00:17:53.64 And it said: "He suffered Gethsemane 00:17:53.84\00:17:57.01 through blood, sweat, and tears. " 00:17:57.41\00:17:59.91 And I said: "Wow! That's strong! " 00:18:00.78\00:18:03.48 "Each drop of blood He shed bought me a million years. 00:18:03.68\00:18:06.55 God's crowning sacrifice... " 00:18:07.22\00:18:09.42 I said: "Man, this is not coming from me. " 00:18:09.62\00:18:12.95 Some of you are song writers. You ever write a song 00:18:13.15\00:18:14.96 or maybe write poems? I know you guys do. 00:18:15.16\00:18:17.39 Sometimes you know when you really work at it 00:18:17.59\00:18:19.69 then other times when it seems like God just throws it on you. 00:18:19.89\00:18:24.87 Says: "Here, take it... what are you going to do with it? " 00:18:25.07\00:18:27.17 Well, I'm very limited as a song writer and as a musician. 00:18:27.37\00:18:30.91 But I said: "Man, that song is so powerful! " 00:18:31.11\00:18:33.58 "The spotless Lamb of God who now is the great I AM. " 00:18:33.98\00:18:37.25 And I said: "That is a powerful chorus. " 00:18:37.45\00:18:39.91 Reggie called me... talking about, the next morning 00:18:40.12\00:18:42.22 and I sang it to him. I had my guitar, and he said: 00:18:42.42\00:18:44.95 "Danny, you've got to put that on the project. " 00:18:45.15\00:18:46.99 I said: "Reggie, I don't have a chorus. " 00:18:47.19\00:18:48.79 "I don't have... I just have the music to the chorus 00:18:48.99\00:18:51.49 and the words. I don't have any verses. " 00:18:51.69\00:18:53.03 "Think about it; pray about it. The Lord will give it to you. " 00:18:53.19\00:18:55.86 So I was talking to my brother Kenny. 00:18:56.26\00:18:58.93 I said: "The Lord gave me this. " He said: "Man, you've 00:18:59.13\00:19:02.87 got to do this! " Talking to Yvonne Lewis later. 00:19:03.07\00:19:05.94 Next morning we were going to Nashville 00:19:06.14\00:19:08.44 I talked to these people and they said: 00:19:08.64\00:19:10.18 "I can't get that song out of my mind. 00:19:10.38\00:19:11.91 You need to finish that song and do it on the project. " 00:19:12.11\00:19:14.42 So I went to the airport to pick up in Nashville Lanny Wolfe. 00:19:14.82\00:19:17.79 I said: "Lanny, the Lord gave me this little chorus... " 00:19:17.99\00:19:20.12 And that's how you do if you think somebody, without asking 00:19:20.32\00:19:23.76 them to co-write, a guy like him, you don't 00:19:23.96\00:19:25.86 just ask him to co-write so you try to be... 00:19:26.06\00:19:28.46 And he knew exactly what I was doing, but I said: 00:19:28.66\00:19:30.47 "Lanny, the Lord gave me this little chorus. " 00:19:30.67\00:19:33.64 And this is evening by this time. We'd done 00:19:33.84\00:19:35.44 one day of tracking. And the next morning we went to 00:19:35.64\00:19:38.97 breakfast. Lanny said: "Danny, I can't get that song 00:19:39.17\00:19:41.58 out of my mind. You want me to write the verses to it? " 00:19:41.78\00:19:44.51 I said: "Absolutely! " 00:19:44.71\00:19:46.08 So literally that evening he put together - penned - 00:19:46.48\00:19:49.85 some of the most beautiful words I've ever heard 00:19:50.09\00:19:52.65 to the song... the first verse, the last verse. 00:19:52.85\00:19:55.19 And we asked Reggie to sing it. 00:19:55.39\00:19:57.33 It's absolutely... I cry when I hear it. 00:19:57.53\00:19:59.76 I know it's not me, it's not Lanny. 00:20:00.00\00:20:01.80 This: we do give God the credit for this. 00:20:02.00\00:20:04.23 But Gethsemane... Reggie. 00:20:04.40\00:20:07.24 Thank you... thank you, Reggie. 00:26:05.73\00:26:08.40 Wow! Praise the Lord! 00:26:08.60\00:26:10.20 God is good, isn't He? Amen! 00:26:10.40\00:26:12.50 Did you see some of the pictures behind to give a little... 00:26:12.70\00:26:16.74 Jesus. We can't imagine. It says He sweat great drops of blood. 00:26:16.94\00:26:20.71 But each drop of blood bought us a million years 00:26:21.88\00:26:24.28 and more. This love... we'll never understand it. 00:26:24.48\00:26:28.08 About a year and a half or two years ago 00:26:28.78\00:26:30.62 I had written... We were getting ready to do another project 00:26:30.92\00:26:33.56 and I was down with Lari Goss, a great friend 00:26:33.76\00:26:35.82 and wonderful wonderful man. He's now resting in Jesus. 00:26:36.02\00:26:39.19 And I was at his place and I said: "There's a song that... " 00:26:39.39\00:26:43.20 We needed one more song. I said: "I just wrote a little, 00:26:43.43\00:26:45.43 a little song and it says, I entitled it Calvary Says 00:26:45.63\00:26:49.30 Love To Me. And I played it for him on the guitar. 00:26:49.50\00:26:52.17 He said: "Danny, we've got to do this on the project. " 00:26:52.37\00:26:54.58 So as we come to this project: songs on Calvary. 00:26:54.98\00:26:58.28 And that's what Calvary says to us. 00:26:58.68\00:27:00.85 Think about it. It says love. 00:27:01.25\00:27:03.12 You know, the cross of itself is nothing. 00:27:03.32\00:27:05.49 I can go out and make a cross. 00:27:05.69\00:27:07.19 We can do all kinds of things. 00:27:07.39\00:27:08.72 But Jesus shed blood on that cross 00:27:08.82\00:27:10.86 is what changed the whole world. 00:27:11.06\00:27:12.73 When we think about it, we think about the cross of Calvary. 00:27:13.63\00:27:16.60 We're going to have Ladye Love come and sing 00:27:17.00\00:27:18.87 Calvary Says Love To Me. 00:27:19.07\00:27:21.34 Thank you. Beautiful! 00:31:53.11\00:31:56.14 Absolutely. You know, what's amazing to me is 00:31:56.34\00:31:59.41 when God has... Everybody has different gifts. 00:31:59.61\00:32:03.15 And I was sitting there thinking about almost every note 00:32:03.49\00:32:06.29 that you heard of all those instruments was in her mind 00:32:06.49\00:32:09.79 and Lari's mind. And then you add people like Gordon 00:32:10.03\00:32:13.83 on there and Tim Parton, then get these singers on here 00:32:14.00\00:32:18.10 and I don't think that God's people have to take a back seat 00:32:18.30\00:32:21.37 to the world, do you? No! 00:32:21.57\00:32:22.90 And I'm so thankful that each and every one of these folk 00:32:23.00\00:32:25.81 have chosen to use their gifts and their talents 00:32:26.01\00:32:29.31 and abilities for God's work. 00:32:29.51\00:32:32.28 And tonight the question would be: what about you? 00:32:32.88\00:32:35.22 What about me? 00:32:35.52\00:32:36.89 As we're here singing, and I'm enjoying being able to sing 00:32:37.09\00:32:40.42 with such great singers and musicians, 00:32:40.62\00:32:42.16 but most importantly is what does Calvary mean to us? 00:32:42.36\00:32:45.56 What does Calvary say to us? 00:32:45.76\00:32:47.50 Does Calvary say love to us? 00:32:47.66\00:32:49.70 You see, without a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ 00:32:49.90\00:32:52.97 we're going nowhere. 00:32:53.17\00:32:54.50 Literally, there's no life, there's no hope 00:32:54.67\00:32:57.81 without the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ 00:32:58.01\00:33:01.11 on the cross of Calvary. I'm so thankful that 00:33:01.31\00:33:04.28 He's a God of mercy. 00:33:04.48\00:33:05.81 That He's a God of patience. 00:33:06.05\00:33:07.78 That He doesn't mind taking the clay and re-molding it 00:33:08.18\00:33:11.95 from time to time. 00:33:12.15\00:33:13.49 But He'll only do that if we come to Him and confess our sins 00:33:13.56\00:33:17.43 "Lord, I'm a sinner. " 00:33:17.63\00:33:19.69 He says if we do that He is faithful and just 00:33:20.10\00:33:22.70 to forgive us from our sins and cleanse us from some 00:33:23.10\00:33:25.47 of our unrighteousness. ALL! Oh, ya'll are still awake? 00:33:25.67\00:33:28.74 All right. All... all unrighteousness. 00:33:28.94\00:33:32.11 Isn't that amazing? 00:33:32.31\00:33:33.64 That we as frail human agents 00:33:33.68\00:33:35.81 that God would even not destroy all of us. 00:33:36.21\00:33:39.98 But He didn't. His love for us is beyond comprehension. 00:33:40.58\00:33:45.79 So... as great a writer as Lanny Wolfe is 00:33:45.99\00:33:48.16 when he gets to heaven he's going to have to sit in the back 00:33:48.36\00:33:50.93 corner and say: "I thought I was a pretty good song writer 00:33:51.13\00:33:53.56 but I didn't know half the story. I didn't know 00:33:53.76\00:33:57.00 a tenth of the story. " Because we won't know. 00:33:57.20\00:33:59.57 The Bible says: "Now we see through a glass darkly 00:33:59.77\00:34:02.20 but then face to face. " 00:34:02.60\00:34:05.77 Isn't that wonderful? 00:34:06.17\00:34:07.51 I praise God for His plan of salvation. 00:34:07.58\00:34:12.55 Amen! It's very simple. 00:34:12.75\00:34:14.62 Maybe the greatest song ever written 00:34:14.82\00:34:17.39 Jesus loves me, this I know 00:34:17.59\00:34:20.26 for the Bible tells me so. 00:34:20.46\00:34:22.69 Right? Little ones to Him belong, 00:34:23.09\00:34:24.83 they are weak but HE is strong. 00:34:25.03\00:34:27.73 Yes Jesus loves me; 00:34:27.93\00:34:29.76 yes Jesus loves me. Do you love Jesus tonight? 00:34:29.96\00:34:32.40 Amen! I don't care what your problem is 00:34:32.60\00:34:34.80 Jesus is coming back for a purified bride 00:34:35.00\00:34:37.64 and a purified church. 00:34:37.84\00:34:39.17 And as I travel around I see ya'll are just like me. 00:34:39.37\00:34:42.41 You've got a lot of problems in your life. 00:34:42.61\00:34:44.28 Right? And I don't think the reason Jesus is not here yet 00:34:44.68\00:34:48.18 is not because we're waiting on Him. 00:34:48.38\00:34:50.55 He's waiting on us. 00:34:50.75\00:34:52.09 He's waiting on His people to perfect His character 00:34:52.19\00:34:55.12 within our lives so that He can come back 00:34:55.32\00:34:57.59 for a purified bride... a purified church. 00:34:57.73\00:35:00.13 And when we get to that point He says: "I, if I be lifted up 00:35:00.33\00:35:03.77 from this earth will draw some folk to Me. " 00:35:03.97\00:35:06.40 All! You're still awake; all right! 00:35:06.60\00:35:08.90 "Draw all men unto Me. " 00:35:09.10\00:35:11.57 So I'm so thankful tonight to have this opportunity 00:35:11.77\00:35:15.34 to be here and minister music 00:35:15.74\00:35:19.21 that talks about Jesus. Right? The cross... 00:35:19.41\00:35:22.62 the sanctuary. To give the world a last-day message 00:35:22.82\00:35:26.86 because I believe we're living in the end times, don't you? 00:35:27.06\00:35:29.39 Amen! We have present truth to give to a lost and dying world. 00:35:29.59\00:35:33.16 If we don't do it, who will? 00:35:33.40\00:35:34.83 I don't want to stand before Jesus and Him say 00:35:35.23\00:35:38.40 "Why didn't you do? You had the truth, but you 00:35:38.60\00:35:40.50 didn't tell anybody. " I was over in London the other day 00:35:40.70\00:35:44.94 and somebody there said to me: "You know what? 00:35:45.14\00:35:47.48 This is not like anywhere else in the world. 00:35:47.88\00:35:49.81 London is impossible to reach people. 00:35:50.01\00:35:53.31 People don't want the truth; they're not willing to change. " 00:35:53.72\00:35:57.15 And I said: "Well then why didn't Jesus say in 00:35:57.35\00:35:59.39 Matthew 28:18-20 "Go ye into all the world except London? " 00:35:59.59\00:36:03.36 See? He didn't say that, did He? 00:36:03.76\00:36:06.19 He said: "Go ye into all the world. " 00:36:06.59\00:36:08.23 And I said: "I can tell you for a fact 00:36:08.43\00:36:10.50 that people in London are looking for truth 00:36:10.90\00:36:13.54 and they are looking for a change. " There are 30,000 00:36:13.74\00:36:17.71 preachers throughout the great city of London 00:36:18.11\00:36:20.91 but there are over 80,000 registered witches. 00:36:21.11\00:36:23.65 There is every kind of cult you can think of: the New Age. 00:36:24.61\00:36:27.82 There's all kinds of false religions who do not 00:36:28.02\00:36:31.52 give honor and glory to the Lord Jesus Christ and to God 00:36:31.72\00:36:34.92 and they're growing by the millions. 00:36:35.32\00:36:37.33 The reason I believe they're not accepting truth - 00:36:37.73\00:36:41.13 not only London... here: West Frankfort, Illinois, 00:36:41.33\00:36:43.73 whether you're from Alabama, Tennessee, Africa... 00:36:43.93\00:36:46.13 I don't care where you're from - 00:36:46.33\00:36:47.67 is because we have been ashamed of the gospel of Christ. 00:36:47.70\00:36:50.07 We should be so excited that everybody we see 00:36:50.37\00:36:53.98 we want to tell them about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 00:36:54.18\00:36:57.01 Am I right? Amen! I'm starting to get excited 00:36:57.21\00:37:00.45 so I'm not a preacher. Not a son of a preacher. 00:37:00.65\00:37:02.78 I'm going to back up, but we're going to sing a little bit 00:37:02.98\00:37:05.25 about heaven right now. 00:37:05.45\00:37:06.79 Heaven came down and what happened? 00:37:06.99\00:37:08.62 Glory filled our soul. All right. 00:37:08.82\00:37:10.46 Quartet? OK. All right. 00:37:10.66\00:37:14.10 I'll try. I don't have much voice left 00:37:14.30\00:37:16.13 but we'll do it. 00:37:16.33\00:37:18.10 Amen! Yeah! Amen! 00:40:39.40\00:40:41.70 Thank you. Thank you guys. Beautiful! 00:40:41.90\00:40:45.11 I want to say a word about Reggie Smith. 00:40:46.37\00:40:49.08 Reggie... I called Reggie to say: "Reggie, would you 00:40:49.28\00:40:52.15 produce this project? " If you don't know what 00:40:52.35\00:40:54.68 a producer does you can ask Ladye Love. 00:40:54.88\00:40:57.52 He spends... If you have a studio - a music studio 00:40:57.72\00:41:02.06 in your attic - they call it their attic - 00:41:02.26\00:41:04.49 a nice little upstairs. But if you have one, 00:41:04.69\00:41:07.20 you spend about several months in the studio 00:41:07.40\00:41:10.23 so she and Bret didn't get to see him very much 00:41:10.43\00:41:13.17 unless they went upstairs in the studio. 00:41:13.40\00:41:15.44 But Reggie literally pro- duced, put everything together. 00:41:15.64\00:41:18.37 Worked with Kris, Gordon... Larry... everybody together 00:41:18.57\00:41:23.71 and with the choir... putting all the choir. 00:41:23.91\00:41:25.85 Arranging. He literally arranged all the parts 00:41:26.05\00:41:28.52 that we're doing. So Reggie, thank you so much 00:41:28.72\00:41:31.89 for the literally hundreds of hours and months 00:41:32.09\00:41:34.52 that you have put into this project. 00:41:34.72\00:41:37.29 Our next song is Precious Blood. Lanny, 00:41:39.89\00:41:42.33 come and tell us about this. You wrote this song. 00:41:42.53\00:41:44.97 Paul talks about a thorn in his flesh. 00:41:46.20\00:41:49.40 Well for many years of my life a thorn in my flesh 00:41:49.80\00:41:52.14 was cellulitis. Some of you know what that is? 00:41:52.34\00:41:55.08 I don't know what it is; I just know I would get it. 00:41:55.48\00:41:57.85 And when I would get it, it would, my ankle would hurt 00:41:58.25\00:42:02.15 and it would get red, and I couldn't even walk to the car 00:42:02.35\00:42:05.09 to go to the hospital. And then I'd be in the hospital 00:42:05.29\00:42:07.56 for a week and pay $10,000 and come home... 00:42:07.69\00:42:10.43 and then work to pay off the hospital bill. 00:42:10.83\00:42:12.39 So that's what cellulitis was. 00:42:12.59\00:42:14.00 I was on a chorale tour. We were in Cincinnati, Ohio. 00:42:14.20\00:42:17.43 I would never know when this was going to happen. 00:42:17.63\00:42:19.27 It just happened. And so we were there 00:42:19.47\00:42:21.77 and it happened in the middle of a service. I had 50 young people 00:42:21.97\00:42:25.54 on a chorale tour, and I thought: "God, I don't know 00:42:25.74\00:42:28.38 if I can make it through this service. 00:42:28.58\00:42:29.91 Help me get through this service. " So at the end of the 00:42:29.94\00:42:32.05 service I turned the chorale... we had more tour dates... 00:42:32.25\00:42:34.45 so I turned it over to somebody to go on with the choir 00:42:34.65\00:42:38.19 to the next city. I said: "Take me to the emergency room " 00:42:38.39\00:42:40.92 and they did. And so they put me in a room and they started doing 00:42:41.09\00:42:46.80 all the stuff they do. And the first thing they do 00:42:47.00\00:42:49.26 is take your blood. Well, I've had my blood taken many 00:42:49.46\00:42:52.73 times. You have, too. But it was what I call 00:42:52.93\00:42:56.24 as a song writer "the moment of truth. " 00:42:56.44\00:42:58.81 It was THIS time, when they were taking my blood, 00:43:00.21\00:43:04.15 Bro. Murray... THIS TIME I got it. 00:43:04.51\00:43:09.25 Without blood, none of the rest of this works. 00:43:10.79\00:43:13.66 All right. It doesn't matter how beautiful your body is. 00:43:14.06\00:43:16.83 It doesn't matter how much money you've got. 00:43:17.23\00:43:19.29 If the blood is not there, nothing's there. 00:43:19.49\00:43:22.56 And so at that moment of truth 00:43:23.06\00:43:25.07 God impressed me that for hundreds of years 00:43:25.27\00:43:28.67 lambs were brought to offer for sacrifice for sins. 00:43:28.87\00:43:33.88 But Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God - Amen! - 00:43:34.28\00:43:37.55 All right - He went to the cross and He said - come on: 00:43:38.05\00:43:41.65 "I will go and I will shed once and for all. " 00:43:41.85\00:43:45.39 All right. "You don't need to bring any more lambs. 00:43:45.59\00:43:48.16 I am The Lamb... I am the Lamb of God. " That's right! 00:43:48.36\00:43:51.39 Once and for all He drank the bitter cup 00:43:51.59\00:43:54.63 and He took the stripes on His back for our healing. 00:43:54.83\00:43:59.03 And so Jesus Christ heals. He heals today! 00:43:59.77\00:44:03.61 You need to be healed? He took the stripes 00:44:04.01\00:44:06.98 on His back so we could be healed. 00:44:07.18\00:44:09.18 And so this song came in a hospital room 00:44:09.44\00:44:12.41 in Cincinnati, Ohio: Precious Blood. 00:44:12.61\00:44:15.12 Melody. 00:44:15.32\00:44:16.99 Amen! Amen! Praise the Lord! 00:48:31.34\00:48:35.24 Wow! I don't know about you all but I'm getting those great big 00:48:41.22\00:48:44.12 old chill bumps all over me. I'm going to call them 00:48:44.32\00:48:46.86 Holy Spirit bumps, all right? 'Cause it's sure not cold 00:48:47.06\00:48:50.16 in here. But I feel the anointing of the Holy Spirit. 00:48:50.36\00:48:53.43 Is anybody with me on this tonight? 00:48:53.63\00:48:55.73 Because we're singing about the only thing that really matters 00:48:56.13\00:48:59.60 in life, right? 'Cause life itself... the Life Giver. 00:48:59.80\00:49:03.77 We're bringing honor and glory and praise to Him tonight. 00:49:03.97\00:49:08.34 Reggie. We were at your house visiting... 00:49:08.98\00:49:11.55 Reggie went to the piano and said: "I think I've got a song. 00:49:11.75\00:49:16.35 that might work on the project. " 00:49:16.55\00:49:18.35 And it worked. A beautiful song. Tell us 00:49:19.82\00:49:21.89 about this song. Well, this is an old hymn 00:49:22.09\00:49:24.16 and... just a different arrangement. With 00:49:25.26\00:49:27.13 a different arrangement... a little twist to it. 00:49:27.36\00:49:29.00 At The Cross. You know that hymn, right? 00:49:29.20\00:49:31.73 And I didn't know if it would, you know, fit for the project. 00:49:32.13\00:49:34.90 You know you want to tie everything together nicely. 00:49:35.10\00:49:37.31 And I was a little scared to play it for Danny, honestly. 00:49:37.51\00:49:40.08 I was a little nervous but I said: "Well I was just working 00:49:40.58\00:49:42.54 on this little hymn. " And Yvonne was sitting there. 00:49:42.74\00:49:44.88 So I started playing along 00:49:45.28\00:49:47.42 and Yvonne said: "Um-hmm... yes. 00:49:47.62\00:49:49.95 Yes, yes, yes... it's in! " 00:49:50.19\00:49:54.32 So that made the cut. So it's a beautiful, beautiful... 00:49:55.72\00:49:58.69 old lyric but a good song. So... thank you. 00:49:58.89\00:50:01.26 All right. I'm going to ask Lanny Wolfe and Melody 00:54:33.50\00:54:36.14 to come up. I have to tell you a really short story. 00:54:36.54\00:54:40.94 I don't have much voice left 00:54:41.34\00:54:43.71 but I've got enough to tell THIS story. 00:54:43.91\00:54:45.28 I mean, we've gotta talk about something tonight, right? OK. 00:54:46.68\00:54:50.25 Another idea came to me. I'm going to let you do this. 00:54:50.65\00:54:53.22 No, no, no. Another idea came to me about a song 00:54:53.42\00:54:56.79 and I said... Started talking about it. I told Lanny, 00:54:57.19\00:55:00.86 I said: "I've got this, I think it's a great idea for a song! " 00:55:01.03\00:55:04.07 He said: "Danny, that's a baby that needs to be birthed... 00:55:04.53\00:55:07.47 needs to be born. " 00:55:07.87\00:55:09.20 Hung the worlds in space... I said: "Hung the worlds in 00:55:09.34\00:55:11.47 space was the One who hung on the cross in our place. " 00:55:11.67\00:55:14.34 Now... That hit me: that's powerful. I said: 00:55:14.54\00:55:16.85 "Now what if we could write, Joy, what if we could write 00:55:17.05\00:55:19.38 all the parallels like that? " 00:55:19.58\00:55:21.55 Something from heaven to earth. 00:55:21.95\00:55:23.69 Lanny said: "Oh... that's wonderful! " 00:55:23.89\00:55:25.55 So we told Melody about it. Melody came up with the first 00:55:25.95\00:55:28.79 line or two and then Lanny came up with some more. 00:55:28.99\00:55:32.79 Pretty soon I saw the three-way e- mails were going to two-way 00:55:32.99\00:55:37.13 e- mails... and my name was left out. 00:55:37.33\00:55:39.77 My name was left out. 00:55:41.90\00:55:43.47 And I said: "Now wait a minute! I thought I had the baby 00:55:43.67\00:55:46.21 that was supposed to be born. " 00:55:46.41\00:55:47.74 And so now all of a sudden things got very quiet. 00:55:47.98\00:55:51.65 You know what that's like? Like, I'd look at my e-mail: 00:55:52.05\00:55:54.68 "Now surely they'll... No... nothing here today. " 00:55:54.88\00:55:57.62 So anyway, but I'm really glad. 00:55:58.12\00:56:00.92 I'm really glad. I love teasing Melody about this. 00:56:01.12\00:56:03.39 Now you know Lanny's in charge. 00:56:03.59\00:56:05.39 So blame Lanny? Hear what he says... Now wait just a minute! 00:56:05.59\00:56:09.76 God woke me up in the middle of the night 00:56:09.96\00:56:11.87 with a chorus that was in an Easter musical... my first 00:56:12.27\00:56:16.81 Easter musical... called Love Found A Way. 00:56:17.01\00:56:19.44 And I thought it was a chorus because at the time it was. 00:56:19.64\00:56:22.84 It had 3 lines and then it repeated the third line. 00:56:23.24\00:56:26.82 It really wasn't a full- fledged "legit" chorus. 00:56:27.22\00:56:29.92 God woke me up in the middle of the night 00:56:30.32\00:56:32.35 and reminded me that it wasn't a real chorus... 00:56:32.55\00:56:35.16 to make it a chorus. So I called Danny and Melody 00:56:35.36\00:56:38.29 and I said: "I've got the glue for this song. " 00:56:38.69\00:56:43.06 And that was the moment when your line almost went dead. 00:56:43.47\00:56:46.50 When he said "Danny... you're out. " 00:56:46.70\00:56:48.57 But what I'm going to try to do is sing on it anyway. 00:56:50.61\00:56:53.21 Right? I was a part of it. But honestly, 00:56:53.44\00:56:55.98 it is such a beautiful song and Lanny said: 00:56:56.18\00:56:59.41 "It'll just be birthed at another time. " 00:56:59.61\00:57:01.35 The idea that I had. So I'm going to hold you to that, 00:57:01.55\00:57:03.92 OK? But thank you, Melody, for your support in this 00:57:04.12\00:57:07.29 and the words that you gave - thank you - and working together 00:57:07.49\00:57:09.42 with Lanny. Beautiful song, and we're actually entitling 00:57:09.62\00:57:12.83 this whole project Calvary: Love Found A Way. 00:57:13.03\00:57:16.77 Amen! 01:01:58.05\01:01:59.71 Love found a way. Aren't you glad? 01:02:02.38\01:02:04.19 Amen! I'm thankful. Without that there's nothing, folks. 01:02:04.35\01:02:07.06 Love found a way. Melody, Lanny, thank you so much. 01:02:07.26\01:02:11.09 We're going to have Reggie and Ladye come up. 01:02:11.49\01:02:13.26 Another beautiful song. This was written by? Dottie Rambo. 01:02:13.50\01:02:17.13 Dottie Rambo. The wonderful Dottie Rambo, yes. 01:02:17.33\01:02:19.23 Beautiful song. Ladye Love, you going to sing with him? 01:02:19.63\01:02:22.54 I Will Glory In The Cross is the name of this one. 01:02:22.74\01:02:24.87 And Danny you know, when we... to do the arrangement and 01:02:25.07\01:02:27.74 we all got together in Kris's room and we started 01:02:28.14\01:02:30.91 trying to figure out how... It was fun. Oh, you kidding me? 01:02:31.05\01:02:34.32 She's magnificent, she's amazing. 01:02:34.52\01:02:36.12 And when you called me, Danny, to produce this thing 01:02:36.32\01:02:38.35 you didn't tell... I told everybody no twice. 01:02:38.55\01:02:40.72 I told you no twice. You did! Because our dear friend 01:02:40.92\01:02:44.33 and the most wonderful producer that we ever knew 01:02:44.53\01:02:47.86 was Lari Goss. He produced our last Hallelujah! 01:02:48.03\01:02:50.43 And so there was just no way - 01:02:50.83\01:02:53.30 me - I could follow up anything like that. 01:02:53.70\01:02:56.27 Are you kidding me? Really? Lari Goss? 01:02:56.47\01:02:57.94 But you know what? I said: "If we can build a great team - 01:02:58.34\01:03:01.04 a great team - then we can get through this. " Absolutely! 01:03:01.44\01:03:04.28 Of course we started with the magnificent orchestrator 01:03:04.48\01:03:07.72 over there, and then Larry obviously was there too 01:03:07.92\01:03:10.79 helping write some, and then great musicians and everything. 01:03:10.99\01:03:13.86 And you know, we got to thinking about this song. 01:03:14.26\01:03:15.66 We said: "How do we treat this because it's been recorded 01:03:15.86\01:03:17.63 many many times? " Larnelle Harris did a wonderful 01:03:17.83\01:03:19.69 arrangement of this song... an incredible arrangement. 01:03:19.89\01:03:21.63 And we started thinking: "How would... " I started thinking: 01:03:22.80\01:03:25.23 "How would maybe Miss Dottie have written this song? " 01:03:25.53\01:03:28.80 And she... I think she's from Kentucky originally. 01:03:29.40\01:03:32.04 Is that right? Kentucky. So she was a country girl 01:03:32.24\01:03:35.04 I think, and she played a guitar... 01:03:35.24\01:03:37.55 just kind of simple chords guitar. 01:03:37.75\01:03:39.51 And I don't think she would have played all these fancy 01:03:39.71\01:03:41.75 chords all over the world, you know. 01:03:41.95\01:03:43.75 She'd have played just straight... straight ahead. 01:03:43.95\01:03:46.09 And so we kind of put a Celtic - OK - feeling to it. 01:03:46.29\01:03:49.16 Celtic-Kentucky feeling to it. OK. 01:03:49.36\01:03:51.29 So that's what we came to. Yeah, that's right. 01:03:51.73\01:03:55.30 Beautiful! I will glory in the cross. 01:08:44.52\01:08:47.82 I also want to thank E.T. Everett sitting down front 01:08:48.22\01:08:50.76 right here. Amen! Amen! Some of the folks, you might not 01:08:50.96\01:08:53.29 be able see her on camera too much but what an incredible job! 01:08:53.50\01:08:57.13 She's our sound center manager. Incredible musician. 01:08:57.33\01:09:00.37 Literally arranger, singer; and she's worked countless hours. 01:09:01.87\01:09:05.84 Bobby Bradley... chief engineer, sound engineer. 01:09:06.04\01:09:09.48 Incredible. He is always behind the scenes. 01:09:09.68\01:09:11.91 And our whole 3ABN crew here for what they're doing... 01:09:12.31\01:09:15.12 it's so neat. In fact, I can say after thirty-one years 01:09:15.32\01:09:18.42 it's fun working together. Isn't it, ET? 01:09:18.62\01:09:21.62 It's still fun after all these years when you literally 01:09:21.82\01:09:24.73 know that you're doing some- thing for the Lord Jesus Christ 01:09:25.13\01:09:28.43 and you're able to do it with folk who have the same likes... 01:09:28.63\01:09:31.47 the same desires and same mission and motives 01:09:31.67\01:09:36.17 that you do, and that's to ful- fill the great Gospel Commission 01:09:36.37\01:09:39.87 "Go ye into all the world. " 01:09:40.28\01:09:41.71 Tell the people about the Lord Jesus Christ 01:09:41.91\01:09:44.25 and Him crucified... giving present truth 01:09:44.38\01:09:47.25 to a lost and dying world. 01:09:47.45\01:09:48.78 Now we're going to do a medley. 01:09:49.15\01:09:50.69 I think Reggie's going to go down now and direct, right? 01:09:50.89\01:09:53.25 Help direct. So we're going to do... 01:09:53.46\01:09:55.36 Thank you, E.T. You've been doing a great job... 01:09:55.76\01:09:57.43 for all that you do. Now we're going to do a hymn medley. 01:09:57.63\01:10:00.30 When you know it, some of the songs you hear it, 01:10:00.50\01:10:02.33 give us a little bit. C.A. is going to come out 01:10:02.63\01:10:04.83 and John and then maybe on some of the choruses 01:10:05.03\01:10:07.00 you join with us. 01:10:07.20\01:10:08.94 You know what? You all sound really good out there. 01:15:59.69\01:16:02.22 Thank you for singing. It's really nice 01:16:03.26\01:16:05.29 when we sing to hear you all singing back on songs 01:16:05.49\01:16:08.26 that you know. The next song is a song that 01:16:08.46\01:16:11.33 Reggie and Ladye and maybe Marty... I'm not sure 01:16:11.53\01:16:15.14 who all wrote on this song. But come up and 01:16:15.34\01:16:18.17 tell us about it and sing it for us. 01:16:18.37\01:16:20.68 It's entitled I'll Never Know. 01:16:21.04\01:16:22.94 Danny, I think we're just going to sing it and let it 01:16:26.55\01:16:28.55 speak for itself. All right. 01:16:28.75\01:16:30.69 But Marty did a great job, right? But Marty, honestly 01:16:31.49\01:16:34.09 wrote some music, and I had a kind of a hook in my mind. 01:16:34.29\01:16:38.39 You know the hook? You've got to come up with the hook, right, 01:16:38.59\01:16:40.50 for the song? Had written the music and I just 01:16:40.70\01:16:43.10 was not pleased at all with what was going on with the lyric. 01:16:43.33\01:16:46.43 I was just not pleased with it. As a matter of fact, 01:16:46.74\01:16:48.20 the only reason it got brought back was because Danny 01:16:48.60\01:16:51.11 brought it back because I had already thrown it on the cutting 01:16:51.31\01:16:53.01 floor. It wasn't going to make the cut. 01:16:53.21\01:16:54.58 But anyway... And then Marty is amazing 01:16:54.98\01:16:56.95 and so he wrote a great lyric to it. So... here we are. 01:16:57.15\01:17:01.85 Amen! Thank you! Beautiful! Beautiful! 01:20:27.32\01:20:30.69 Our last song on this project... we saved it 01:20:33.96\01:20:38.10 last for a reason. 01:20:38.50\01:20:40.94 It's probably one of the most worshipful songs. 01:20:41.34\01:20:44.24 When you listen to it you can't hardly help 01:20:44.41\01:20:47.14 but get in the spirit of worship of our Creator God. 01:20:47.34\01:20:50.38 Lanny wrote it, and I can actually say this without 01:20:50.58\01:20:53.55 trying to be too funny... but he co-wrote it with Beethoven, 01:20:53.75\01:20:56.32 wasn't it? In other words he borrowed - we'll use the word 01:20:56.52\01:21:01.02 borrowed - some of Beethoven's music 01:21:01.22\01:21:03.86 and added his own Lanny Wolfe. 01:21:04.26\01:21:06.70 But what an incredible song! And we were able to get 01:21:06.90\01:21:09.93 the Aeolians from Oakwood University 01:21:10.13\01:21:12.37 so you'll hear them singing with the choir here. 01:21:12.57\01:21:15.27 Absolutely incredible young people. 01:21:15.47\01:21:17.91 Love Jesus... talent that's off the charts. 01:21:18.11\01:21:20.94 And we're so thankful for them 01:21:21.28\01:21:23.08 and their leadership in being able to come to the studio 01:21:23.31\01:21:26.55 and help Yvonne Lewis. Yvonne's going to be singing 01:21:26.78\01:21:29.32 the lead part. Absolutely beautiful song! Thank you, Lanny 01:21:29.52\01:21:32.59 for this song, and Praise His Holy Name. 01:21:32.79\01:21:36.36
