Believe it or not.

It's amazing that people
are willing to pay millions

to have lunch and
interaction with a billionaire.

However, the
Warren Buffett encounter

pales in comparison

with the face-to-face encounter
that the Bible describes

and that Adam and Eve
enjoyed in Edenic perfection.

I want to read a statement
as we begin our discussion

tonight: His Way Is In The
Sanctuary. This is from the book

Education page 15. "When
Adam came from the hand of God

he bore in his physical,
mental, and spiritual nature

a likeness to his Maker.

God created man in His own image

and it was His purpose
that the longer man lived

the more fully he
should reveal this image,

the more fully reflect

sinned, and there was a dramatic

Moses is on the mountain, about
to receive the Ten Commandments.

He's having a conversation
with God, although it is

different than the
one Adam and Eve had.

And here Moses dares
to ask God this question

So the glory of God
is the character of God.

and He gives characteristics,

character. And here in verse 20

There's a dramatic change

in the relationship with
God. Back in Edenic perfection

Adam and Eve had
open communion with God.

But here we see
that God says to Moses:

My face and live. "

Verse 21: "And the Lord
said: 'Here is a place by Me.

And you shall stand on
the rock and so it shall be

when My glory passes by

that I will put you
in the cleft of the rock

and will cover you with

In Edenic perfection there
was open communion with God.

This was not because God
did not want to reveal Himself

because the condition of man

had dramatically changed.

Remember the story of
the ark of the covenant

being taken away
by the Philistines

in I Samuel chapter 6.

Later the Philistines
decided to return it.

And it was taken into the land
of Israel - remember that story?

by a yoke of oxen that
were led supernaturally

into Israel. The ark of
the covenant remained covered.

Remember the children of Israel
went out to the ark of the

covenant and they uncovered
the ark of the covenant

and immediately individuals died

from the presence
of the Shekinah glory.

And it's interesting that
in I Samuel chapter 6 verse 20

the individuals that are
witnessing the glory of God

and witnessing the individuals
that are dying from the presence

of the holy God. In I
Samuel chapter 6 verse 20

they ask this
question: "Who can stand

in the presence of a holy God? "

"Who can stand in the
presence of a holy God? "

Paul comments on this in
Hebrews chapter 12 verse 14.

He says: "Without holiness

no one will see the Lord. "

Let me read that again.

And in Matthew chapter 5
verse 8 in the Beatitudes

Jesus Himself said:
"Blessed are the pure in heart

for they shall see God. "

You see, the criteria for
having a face-to-face open

encounter with God is holiness.

Is holiness.

So God, wanting that
relationship with man,

institutes the
plan of salvation,

and the plan of salvation
is a plan of restoration.

What is it everybody?

Restoration. It
is to bring us back.

That is the plan of salvation.

salvation is to bring us back.

communion that sin destroyed.

And so God reveals the plan

I want to invite them to

Shekinah glory resides.

Now the question is
this: where were Adam and Eve

in Edenic perfection?
They were right there!

Right in the open communion
with God, face-to-face,

unfettered. That's
where Adam and Eve were.

Because of sin
the entire human race

were placed
outside of the sanctuary.

The plan of salvation
is for God to bring us

into the Most Holy Place

God does this by bringing us

The courtyard? We
call that justification.

God delivers us
from the penalty of sin.

Holy Place: sanctification.

Then He brings us
into the Most Holy Place:

us from the presence of sin.

bring us all the way back

And the beauty of the gospel,
friends, is that there is blood

So God has created this model

individuals may be thinking:

"Isn't the sanctuary
just an Old Testament relic

that is no longer relevant
for New Testament Christians? "

That is a common
sentiment that is held by many.

They assume that the
sanctuary was Old Testament

and now we are New Testament
and that we have shifted to

a new dispensation and that the
sanctuary is no longer relevant

for us living in
the 21st century.

Yes, it served it's
purpose for the Jews

but it is no longer relevant
for Christians living today.

Revelation chapter 4 and verse 5

we can see that John
the Revelator sees a vision

of a different type of
tabernacle and sanctuary

that is not of
the Mosaic origin.

Revelation is the
last book of the Bible.

What is John seeing here?
He's seeing the candlesticks
