00:10 I heard the voice of the Lord, saying,
00:12 "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" 00:16 Then I said, "Here am I, send me. " clapping... 06:05 Neville: "God bless. " 06:07 Pause... 06:14 We could have the closing prayer right now, amen again. 06:19 Audience: "Amen... " 06:20 Paul Lee and Neville Peter have set the stage tonight 06:24 for the proclamation of this message. 06:28 I'm already moved, 06:31 I think the Lord just said to me 06:33 "Don't worry about it it's going to be all right. " 06:34 Thank you brother Neville, thank you brother Paul. 06:39 I'd like to invite you to bow your heads with me 06:43 we need the Lord this evening. 06:46 "Loving Father in heaven, 06:50 you never disappoint... 06:53 pause... 06:55 and we invite you again Father tonight 06:57 to come and to speak to our hearts 06:59 each one of us is in need of an infusion of holiness 07:06 for such a trying hour in which we abide 07:11 and we pray Lord tonight that you'll stop by Croydon, 07:15 that you will connect our world audience 07:18 from whatever continent they view this message 07:23 send your Spirit to be the active power in their hearts 07:27 and in their minds we pray, in Jesus' name, amen. " 07:32 Audience: "Amen... " 07:34 My soul is so watered already, 07:38 I feel like I could just have the closing prayer 07:40 but God has given me a message for tonight. 07:43 Some of you are stressed about the title, "The Judgment Hour" 07:49 but I'd like to begin my message with the ending words 07:53 of Dr. Chitty's presentation. 07:55 "If you're stressed about the judgment, 07:59 put the cup down... " 08:00 you can carry that in your mind for so long 08:06 that it becomes the most fearful scene that you can anticipate. 08:10 You can think about standing before the great judge 08:15 of the universe so much so that it almost stalemates your heart 08:20 and makes you pause 08:23 in frightful in trepidation 08:26 about what the outcome might be but tonight, 08:28 as every other night, 08:30 I am not here to tell you how bad you are, 08:32 you already know that, 08:33 I'm here to tell you about how good Jesus is, 08:36 you see, John the Revelator, in the book of Revelation, 08:40 presses the "pause" button of the timeline of prophecy 08:45 and points us to Revelation's scene, 08:48 in Revelation chapter 14, 08:51 as Revelation informs us 08:53 that the long-awaited hour of reckoning has arrived, 08:57 let's begin tonight by looking 08:59 at Revelation chapter 14 and verse 7, 09:03 as the Revelator... in chains... says to us, 09:06 "Saying with a loud voice... " together let's read this tonight 09:10 "Fear God, and give glory to Him; 09:14 for the hour of His judgment has come: 09:18 and worship Him who made heaven and earth, 09:22 the sea and the springs of water. " 09:25 I've had to appear in Court before, 09:28 different things... different occasions... 09:31 and I thank God that I can stand before you today 09:34 and tell you that my anticipation was far... 09:37 far more fearful than my actual experience 09:40 but if you don't know Jesus, 09:43 your experience in this setting is going to be much more fearful 09:48 than the actual anticipation, 09:49 so there is no greater decision tonight to make 09:53 than to know that Jesus is your Savior, 09:55 that we can stand before this great trying hour 09:59 in which the world has now entered, 10:02 knowing that we have on our side the only One 10:06 that can bring us through this trying ordeal 10:10 with blessed assurance. 10:12 The Apostle Paul inserts into this timeline 10:17 a Court setting where a divine summons 10:20 invites us to stand before this heavenly Magistrate. 10:24 We read this in the book of 2nd Corinthians chapter 5 10:28 and verse 10, notice with me as I share the Apostle's word, 10:32 he said, "For we must... " what's the next word? 10:34 "we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, 10:38 that each one may receive the things done in the body, 10:42 according to what he has done, 10:44 whether good... " or whether what? 10:45 "or whether bad... " 10:47 you see... in the judgment, none is exempt 10:50 and nothing is excluded. 10:52 Solomon the wise man also presents before us 10:56 the judicial scene as we read in Ecclesiastes chapter 12 11:01 verses 13 and 14, 11:03 the Bible continues to agree with itself 11:05 and the scene begins to be amplified 11:08 from one writer to the other, notice the wise man's word, 11:12 he says, "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: 11:17 Fear God, and keep his commandments: 11:21 for this is the whole duty of man... " 11:24 but he doesn't stop there, 11:26 a man who understands God's justice 11:28 but a man who also understands God's mercies... 11:32 "For God shall bring every work into judgment, 11:35 with every secret thing, whether it be good, 11:39 or whether it be... " what? 11:41 "or whether it be evil. " 11:43 you know when you read those words, 11:44 those three Scriptures alone could create within you 11:48 such a frightening scene and I would suggest to you 11:52 that the scene becomes even more frightening 11:55 and the number one reason is, we ask ourselves, 11:57 "Am I ready for such a setting?" 12:01 I've met people in our church that have been members 12:03 for 10, 20, 30, some 40 years, 12:06 some have been generational Christians... 12:08 generational Adventists and they say to me, 12:10 "I don't know if I have enough time 12:12 to get ready for Jesus to come" 12:14 but I say to them in words of hope, 12:17 "Just ask the thief on the cross how much time he needed. " 12:19 When you call on the sufficiency of Christ, 12:22 you recognize in a very pivotal moment 12:25 that it's really not about you, it's all about Jesus, 12:28 can somebody say, "amen?" 12:30 Audience: "Amen... " 12:32 You see, Micah the prophet said it in these words, 12:34 Micah 7 verse 19, he says 12:36 "When we focus on self, we could be little frightened" 12:40 but notice what he says about the great love of our souls. 12:43 "He will again have compassion on... " who? 12:46 "on us, and will subdue our... " what? 12:50 "our iniquities. 12:53 You will cast our sins into the depths of the... " 12:56 what? "sea... " 12:58 I don't know if you've done any study about the sea 13:00 I've heard about a place called "The Mariana's Trench" 13:03 it's in the Pacific... close to some of the Asian islands, 13:05 and they tell me that the Mariana's Trench is so deep 13:09 that you can put Mount Everest in that portion of the ocean 13:13 and it will still be... from its peak... 13:15 one mile under the surface of that ocean, 13:18 they said that there's a depth to which no man can go, 13:23 you could not... there is no recorded human being 13:27 that has survived the depths of the Mariana's Trench, 13:31 they've gone there, in mind alone... 13:35 there are ships... there are fish that exist down there 13:40 that can't come up here 13:41 and there are fish up here, that can't go down there 13:44 and my heart is always comforted when I read that, you know why? 13:47 Because if the Lord has thrown my sins 13:50 into that part of the world, you can't find them... 13:52 Audience: "Amen... " 13:53 Amen... Audience: "Amen... " 13:55 and if you talk about it it doesn't matter 13:56 because where it matters, they ain't talking about it, 13:58 come on somebody, 14:00 there are also others that get caught up 14:03 with the chronology of the judgment, they say, 14:05 "Well, when will the judgment begin?" 14:07 "Has it begun in 1844?" 14:09 "Is an understanding of the 2300 days 14:11 imperative for salvation?" 14:12 "When will the judgment pass from the dead to the living?" 14:15 They get all caught up in these intense studies 14:18 and I'm always amazed... somebody also comes up 14:21 somebody always comes up with a new book about the judgment. 14:25 And you can study the theology of the judgment all you want 14:29 but if you don't know Jesus, 14:30 Theology cannot make a difference in your heart 14:33 and in your life, what do you say tonight? 14:34 Audience: "Amen... " 14:35 You've got to know the Man of the judgment, 14:37 not the details of the judgment 14:39 but you've got to know the Man of the judgment 14:41 and His name is Christ Jesus 14:43 and while the answers to these questions are very important, 14:46 the answer to these questions 14:48 are not the focus of the judgment, 14:50 the focus of the judgment is Jesus... 14:51 let's say together, 14:53 "the focus of the judgment is... Jesus" 14:56 focus where Isaiah says our eyes should be, 14:59 Isaiah 45 verse 22, 15:02 let's look at the screen together tonight, 15:04 Jesus says to us, are you ready? 15:06 "Look to Me, and be... " what? Audience: "saved... " 15:09 "and be saved, All you ends of the earth! 15:12 For I am God, and... " what else? 15:15 "there is no other... " 15:17 "there's none like Me... " 15:20 there's nobody on earth that no matter where you travel, 15:24 there is nobody on the planet that can save you but Jesus... 15:28 Audience: "Amen. " 15:29 We're not saved by wealth, we're not saved by position, 15:34 we are not saved by education nor financial status 15:37 my Sister, can you have a seat please, 15:39 we're not saved by our position nor our accomplishments 15:45 we are not saved by our achievements, 15:47 we are saved by the precious blood of that spotless Man 15:51 and His name is Jesus. Audience: "Amen... " 15:53 That spotless Lamb's name, praise God, is Jesus... 15:56 The writer of Hebrews tells us again, 15:59 "Looking unto Jesus, 16:01 the Author and Finisher of our faith, 16:03 who for the joy that was set before Him... " 16:06 what did he do? "Endured the cross, 16:08 despising the shame... " and what has He done tonight, 16:11 "and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. " 16:15 we have got somebody in heaven that's speaking on our behalf, 16:19 what do you say? Audience: "Amen... " 16:21 You may feel discouraged about the judgment, 16:23 but I've got somebody on the inside, 16:26 His name is Jesus, come on somebody... 16:28 Audience: "Amen... " 16:30 If I didn't have a way... if I did not have anybody to call, 16:33 I would be in trouble... but I've got somebody on the inside 16:36 who has taken my name before the Father 16:39 who, when I call, He answers 16:42 and sometimes before I call... He answers. 16:44 His name is Jesus, He is not sitting down tonight 16:49 unconcerned about our destiny, 16:52 He is sitting down tonight, mediating to assure our destiny. 16:57 That's why Jude 1 and verse 24 and 25 says, 17:00 speaking of this judge who's on the inside... 17:04 "Now unto Him that is able... " to do what Church? 17:07 "keep you from falling, and to present you... " how? 17:11 "faultless before the presence of His glory... " with what? 17:15 "exceeding joy, To the only wise God and Saviour... " 17:19 let's say together... "be glory and majesty, 17:22 dominion and power, both... " when? 17:25 "now and evermore... " amen, somebody, 17:28 when Jude wrote that, he put, "amen... " 17:31 because that's a good word... 17:33 you see, you've fallen 17:35 and you have fallen again 17:37 and you have fallen again and again 17:39 you may have fallen quite a bit but I want to tell you, 17:41 the Lord does not just give us a license to continue falling, 17:44 He is saying, "I can not only forgive your sin 17:47 but I can keep you from falling" 17:49 for sin may be powerful but the Savior is even more powerful. 17:54 It's not what we've done but what He's able to do 17:58 and the fact of the matter is, when I think about the judgment, 18:02 I don't have a good strategy, you know what I have? 18:04 I've got a good lawyer... I've got a good... 18:08 I don't... I think about... 18:10 "now how am I going to make it in?" 18:12 When I'm standing before someone, 18:14 from which I can hide nothing, 18:16 He knows the recesses of my heart, 18:19 He understands my thoughts as they are being developed 18:22 He sees my body language and knows where I'm leaning, 18:25 He understands my word, 18:27 every word that we utter, we shall give an account 18:29 and He knows how to erase those words 18:32 and replace them with this word, "saved... " 18:34 I read a story about Martin Luther, 18:37 he penned his dream that he had 18:40 when he was learning about justification... 18:42 righteousness by faith, 18:43 he said, when he had understood this doctrine, 18:46 he was sleeping one night and to his mind, 18:48 this urgent picture came, 18:51 and he saw a scroll being unrolled before him, 18:55 and on that scroll, all of his sins were listed, 18:58 and the one holding the scroll 19:00 was none other than Satan himself 19:02 and he was looking at Martin Luther with a smirk, 19:05 with a smile... almost as though to say, 19:07 "I've got you now... " 19:08 but then all of a sudden 19:12 it appeared in the scene in his dream, 19:15 someone with a large stamp in his hand, 19:18 he said he did not immediately see the face of this being 19:21 but then... over every sin that the devil had presented, 19:24 the word, "forgiven" "pardoned" "forgiven... " 19:29 come on somebody, "pardoned" 19:30 was stamped on every sin and Martin Luther said, 19:33 after he woke up from that dream, 19:35 he understands that the just shall live by faith 19:40 and so for those of you who are wondering 19:44 whether or not... you got this thing together, 19:46 the only thing you've got together, 19:47 is, you've got to have the best lawyer, 19:50 you've got to have the best lawyer, 19:52 look at 1st John 2 verse 1, 19:55 I don't have a good strategy but I've got a good lawyer, 19:57 the Bible says, "My little children... " 19:59 what does it say friends? "My little... " what? 20:02 "My little children, these things I write to you, 20:04 that you may not... " what? Audience: "sin... " 20:07 "But if anyone sins, we have... " what? 20:10 an Advocate with the Father... " who is He? 20:13 "Jesus Christ the righteous. " 20:16 You see, in the judgment, 20:18 we are not the Advocate, Jesus is... 20:21 we don't appear in the judgment to atone for our sins 20:25 Jesus has already atoned for our sins, 20:28 when you consider the larger picture, 20:32 He's not just the Judge, He's not just the Advocate, 20:36 He is the Lawyer, now, I want you to get this scene, 20:39 I mentioned it a few nights ago 20:40 but I think it fits right here, 20:42 when we think about the judgment, 20:44 we think of the Father and the Son 20:46 having a discussion back and forth, 20:48 we say, we think of Jesus pleading to the Father, 20:52 to hold on, 20:54 we almost see the Father as though 20:56 "it's time to cast my judgments" and the Son saying, 21:00 "Not yet, not yet, please wait on... " 21:02 but that's not at all how it is, 21:04 you see, the Father and the Son are together 21:07 in the Plan of Salvation. 21:09 The Father is not rushing 21:11 and Jesus is not telling Him to wait, 21:13 the Bible says, "For God so loved the world 21:16 that He gave His only begotten Son... " 21:19 so this Plan of Salvation is a divine plan 21:22 but what I like about this text 21:27 in Daniel 7:22 and I'll read it, don't go there yet, 21:30 what I like about the text I'm going to read... is this, 21:33 Jesus is on both sides of this judicial process 21:38 He's our Lawyer, He's what? 21:40 Audience: "Our Lawyer... " 21:42 Our Lawyer... and then He's also sitting at the Judgment Bar 21:44 He is our judge, come on somebody say "amen. " 21:46 Now, I don't know how He did that 21:48 but I don't need to know because the Bible says, 21:52 "The Father has committed all judgment to the Son. " 21:54 When I was a young pastor, 21:56 I remember, I didn't have this right, 21:58 I remember preaching at one of these tiny churches 22:01 up in the mountains somewhere 22:02 and I talked about the Father being the judge 22:05 and Jesus being the Lawyer, 22:06 I kind of created almost a dichotomy of... 22:08 a competition between who's going to win this argument 22:11 an old saint came to me, 22:12 "that's why God sometimes puts us 22:14 when we are inexperienced in these tiny places," 22:17 to get our Theology right, an old solid Elder who had scars 22:24 and hard hands from years of studying the Bible 22:27 came to me and said, 22:28 "Young Man, you don't got the picture right" 22:32 you see, Jesus is both the Judge and the Lawyer" 22:35 and I said, "I feel a whole lot better now 22:38 to know that the Court is rigged in favor 22:40 of the children of the Most High God... " 22:42 come on somebody, say, "Amen... " 22:43 look at Daniel 7:22, 22:45 you see when the judgment is over, 22:46 a whole lot of stuff is happening 22:48 but look at the text, when the judgment is over, 22:50 here's what the Bible says, 22:51 "Judgment was made in favor of... " what? 22:54 "the saints of the Most High, 22:56 and the time came for the... " who? 22:59 "saints to possess the kingdom. " 23:02 One day, we're going to possess the kingdom... 23:04 somebody ought to say, "Amen" to that... 23:05 one day these hands of mine are going to touch the hand of God. 23:09 One day these feet are going to walk on golden streets... 23:12 these feet are going to walk on golden streets. 23:15 I'm going to be able to touch a pearly gate 23:17 and I'm going to feel like I don't belong 23:19 but Jesus is going to say, "Come on in... " 23:20 "Amen... " somebody... Audience: "Amen... " 23:21 I'm going to sit down at a table 23:23 where a dinner is being prepared for me now 23:25 and I know it's going to be good because 23:26 these ladies that cook, can't be better than Jesus, 23:29 Audience: "Amen... " 23:30 I'll tell you... it's good 23:32 but it's going to be better in the Kingdom, 23:33 we're going to be sitting at a table with so many seats 23:36 but it's going to feel like 23:37 we're just at the right side of Jesus 23:39 because when we make it in, 23:41 we are going to know beyond a shadow of a doubt 23:43 that we should not be there 23:44 other than by the blood of Jesus. 23:45 Audience: "Amen... " 23:47 I know I don't have any strategy but I've got a good Lawyer, 23:50 I got somebody who knows how to get me in. 23:53 Audience: "Amen... " 23:54 That's why the prognostications 23:56 about the birth of Jesus is clear, 23:58 Matthew... this converted disciple 24:00 documented the purpose of His divine mission, 24:02 Matthew 1:21... it's clear and it's still clear today 24:05 and the Bible says, "And she will bring forth a Son, 24:08 and you shall call His name JESUS, 24:12 for He... " might... 24:14 Audience: "He will... " 24:15 "He... " what? Audience: "He will... " 24:17 "He will save His people from their sins... " 24:20 hallelujah... I'm not afraid 24:23 because I've got somebody who knows how to "will... " 24:25 He says, "You're messed up, 24:27 you've got a whole lot of junk in your trunk... 24:30 you got bad attitudes but I ain't done yet... " 24:33 somebody ought to say, "Amen" to that... 24:34 you've got some folk that have been in this building 24:36 for so long but I'm trying to... 24:38 I'm going to get them in there somehow, 24:39 He's working on us, He's working on our faults 24:43 and our shortcomings and our failures 24:45 He's getting our Theology straightened out 24:47 with our attitudes, 24:49 He's going to make sure that when this is over, 24:51 we are going to hear the words 24:53 and He's going to be able to say, 24:54 "Did I save you from your sins?" 24:56 What a precious Savior! 24:58 That's why the only decision tonight 25:01 when you read that text, "He will save His people... " 25:03 the only decision you have to make tonight 25:05 is make sure you are His people, 25:08 pause... 25:09 let Him work on the Theology of this thing 25:12 but you've got to make sure you are His people 25:15 "because He's going to save... " let's say together... 25:16 "His people... " 25:18 that's why the judgment hour message 25:21 is complex in its legal ramifications 25:24 but it is simple in its eternal application, 25:27 look at 1st John 1:9, 25:29 look at the simplicity of the beauty of the gospel here, 25:31 he says, in 1st John 1:9, 25:34 "If we confess our sins, He is... " what? 25:36 "faithful and just... " to do what? 25:38 "forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from... " what? 25:43 "all... unrighteousness. " 25:47 Audience: "Amen... " 25:49 I remember spilling something on my carpet, 25:52 we have a carpet in our place that has been there a long time 25:57 you know those carpets that have been around for a long time 26:01 and after a while, they cannot endure any more spills, 26:04 and you spill stuff and you say, 26:07 "Well, it's going to join all the other stains... " 26:09 and I looked at that carpet with hopelessness, 26:13 I said to my wife, 26:14 "this carpet has probably been here 26:15 when the man built the house 26:17 and maybe he got it from another house... " 26:19 it looked so old and I thought, 26:20 "Is there any hope for this carpet?" 26:23 And I tried everything that I possibly could 26:25 to get those stains out 26:26 but then I invited a professional to come in 26:29 because our plan was to get rid of that carpet 26:32 because it just... it's just helpless... 26:35 the guy came in with a big old gigantic steam apparatus, 26:39 long hose from the outside of the house 26:42 through the living room and then this big old apparatus 26:45 you hear this big motor outside and the generator 26:47 just humming away and all I can see is, 26:50 he's leaning forward and leaning his elbow into that carpet 26:53 and when he was done, he said, 26:54 "Don't go... don't go in the living room 26:56 just wait overnight, wait till the next day... " 26:58 and I woke up the next day and I looked at that carpet 26:59 I said, "Honey, this can't be the same carpet. " 27:01 Audience: "Praise the Lord. " 27:03 When we stand before Jesus, 27:04 He's going to say to the angels, "This ain't the same carpet... 27:07 this carpet has been cleaned by the blood of the Lamb... " 27:12 Audience: "Amen... " 27:14 It's a beautiful message, you see, you can be fearful 27:17 because you're looking at yourself 27:19 but if you look at Jesus, 27:21 you've heard this before, somebody said, 27:23 "If I look at myself... I don't see how I can be saved," 27:26 but when I look at Jesus, I don't see how I can be lost. " 27:29 What do you say... Audience: "Amen... " 27:31 But the problem is sometimes, 27:32 the simplicity and the beauty of the judgment-hour message 27:35 has been overshadowed by the fine print, 27:39 consider for a moment the fine print, 27:42 one of the reasons why we often sign a 30-page contract 27:46 before we read it... 27:48 come on, have you done that before? 27:50 You're standing in the car dealership 27:52 and that car is so pretty, 27:54 they say, "Just sign right here," 27:55 they'll be turning the pages 27:56 and you're signing your life away, 27:58 don't even know what you're signing, 27:59 the fine print... you get your credit card for the first time 28:02 remember those days 28:04 when you had to apply for a credit card at a Bank, 28:06 anybody old enough... come on help me out, somebody. 28:08 we had to go to a Bank, everything is done online now 28:10 but still when you get something online, 28:12 they have the little check box 28:13 they say, "agree with the terms and conditions" 28:15 and when you scroll down in the terms and conditions, 28:19 you actually say, 28:20 "how many days do I have to read just the terms and conditions?" 28:24 And so we check it ignorantly because you know why? 28:27 We don't care about the terms and the conditions, 28:30 we want that credit card, 28:31 we want that car, we want that house, 28:33 our love for that thing is so great 28:35 that we just check, "I agree... " 28:37 I'm going to tell you, 28:40 if we love Jesus more than we love that car 28:43 or that house or that credit card, 28:47 we can check, "I agree" with the terms and conditions and know 28:51 that we agree with a just Lord what do you say? 28:53 Audience: "Amen... " 28:54 Not somebody that's going to try to find ways 28:56 to make you "lost," because the Bible says, 28:58 "He is not willing that any should perish... " 29:00 that beautiful story of Joshua, snatched, plucked from the fire, 29:07 every time you see a story of salvation in the Bible, 29:10 you can always be sure that the devil is angry. 29:13 Any time anybody is saved from destruction that could come 29:18 the devil is angry, "Well, you know what? 29:20 I don't care if he's angry" 29:22 I'm just glad that God knows 29:24 how to deliver the Godly out of temptation 29:27 for he says, "No temptation has overtaken you 29:30 but such as is common to man: but God is faithful... " 29:33 God is what? Audience: "Faithful... " 29:35 "who will not allow you or suffer you to be tempted 29:37 above what you are able; with every temptation... " 29:39 what does He do? 29:41 He makes a way of escape that you may be able to bear it. 29:46 Audience: "Amen... " 29:47 So it's not just about being forgiven 29:48 we have to consider the fact that if we love Him so much... 29:53 if we love Him so much... He's not going to change on us, 29:57 He's not going to change... and I can tell you something, 30:00 when you get that car, it's going to change, 30:02 does anybody know what I'm talking about? 30:04 My wife and I have a car from 1994, 30:07 it's got 201,000 miles on it it still works... 30:13 now... now we got a newer car 30:16 but I'm keeping that car as a reminder of where we came from. 30:20 "Honey, look at that car... " 30:22 and when I turn the key, it just hum, yum... yum... yum 30:25 hums like a preacher that wants to preach... 30:28 it hums beautifully, 30:30 it reminds me of how many miles God has been faithful. 30:34 Audience: "Amen... " 30:35 That's how God is, 30:37 that's why I'm so glad that the car changed 30:39 and the house is going to need repairs 30:41 and you may exceed your credit limit 30:43 but Jesus... in Hebrews 13 verse 8, the Bible says, 30:46 "Jesus Christ... " here it is... 30:48 "is the same yesterday, today, and... " 30:51 for how long? Audience: "Forever... " 30:54 He loves us today, He's going to love us tomorrow, 30:57 if we call Him for forgiveness today, He will... 30:59 so, if we call Him tomorrow, He will... 31:00 somebody ought to say, "Amen... " 31:02 Audience: "Amen... " 31:03 Not only that... he said, 31:05 when everything and everyone has disappointed you 31:06 and when you feel deserted... look at Hebrews 13 verse 5, 31:09 He says this to us, 31:11 those of us who are in pain and hurting, 31:13 He says, "I will... " come on... 31:14 "never leave you nor forsake you... " 31:17 who do you know that can say that? 31:20 only God can say that, 31:23 only the Lord can say that, 31:26 that's why... this judgment hour is a clear message, 31:29 you see, in the judgment-hour message, 31:31 we don't have to represent ourselves, 31:34 Jesus is the one that represents us, 31:37 the belief that we are on trial 31:40 is true to a certain degree 31:43 follow me carefully tonight, the belief that we are on trial 31:46 is true to a certain degree 31:48 pause... 31:51 but first we have to look at the facts, 31:53 are you ready to look at the facts? 31:55 here it is, what if they examined your life 31:59 to find out how righteous you are? 32:01 What would the conclusion be? 32:03 Isaiah 64 verse 6, 32:04 let's look at some facts about ourselves, 32:07 if they examined your life about your righteousness, 32:10 how true would this be of you? 32:11 Here's what the Bible says, "For we are all like a... " 32:15 what? "unclean thing," 32:17 "and... " how much? 32:19 "all our righteousness's are like... " 32:22 what? "filthy rags... " 32:24 "We all fade as a... " what? 32:25 "leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, 32:28 have done... " what? "taken us away... " 32:31 So, if your righteousness... sorry... 32:34 if our righteousness was on trial, 32:37 would there be any righteousness on our own to be found? 32:41 Audience: "No... " 32:42 Okay, so let's just put that to rest right away. 32:46 You will never be righteous enough to be saved. 32:50 Pause... 32:52 Let me now bring you into the picture, 32:54 "I'll never be righteous enough to be saved... " 32:57 Pause... 32:59 But I'm so glad that ain't the only verse in the Bible, 33:01 look at Jeremiah 33 verse 16, 33:04 you see, it is not about our righteousness, 33:06 it's about the one who stands in our behalf, 33:09 let's look at the one who is righteous. 33:11 Jeremiah the prophet says, In those days Judah will be" 33:15 what? Audience: "Saved... " 33:16 "And Jerusalem will dwell... " how? 33:18 "safely. And this is the name by which she will be called... " 33:24 you're ready? "THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS." 33:27 Who is your righteousness, what is His name? 33:30 "The Lord our righteousness... " 33:32 The Lord is the One by which we find our righteousness. 33:36 That's a beautiful thing because you know what? 33:38 I have a lot of traits from my parents, 33:41 I don't want to belittle the message at all, 33:44 I want to take it to a human level... 33:45 but you can look at yourself and you can tell, 33:47 "Well, he's got his face like his mother, 33:48 he's got ears like his daddy, 33:50 he's got the height from somebody in his family... " 33:53 something about us resembles our parents, 33:54 the beauty of the gospel is this, 33:57 one day we are going to be just like our Father 34:00 and His name is Jesus. Audience: "Amen... " 34:02 That's why Satan accused me of my righteousness, 34:05 if Satan said of me, "John is no good... " 34:09 do you know that he would be right? 34:11 Look at Paul the Apostle, 34:14 for whatever reason, Paul the Apostle agrees 34:17 with the enemy on this statement, 34:19 the Bible says in Romans 3 and verse 10, 34:21 "As it is written... " 34:24 let's all read that together, are the saints ready? 34:26 "There is... " what? Audience: "none righteous 34:29 no not one... " 34:32 so... so much for the fact that you need more time 34:36 to work out your salvation 34:37 some people say, "Pastor, you know, 34:40 I got a whole lot of issues, well, I'm going to tell you, 34:44 you might know that but God also knows that, 34:47 pause... 34:51 and then sometimes, 34:53 we don't even spend time on our issues, 34:54 we say, "Sister So-and-so has got a lot of issues 34:57 looking at other people's issues 35:00 in the time of judgment, you'd better examine yourself 35:03 to see whether or not you're in the faith 35:06 you need to stand before the mirror 35:07 that reveals your condition before God 35:09 so that you can know where you stand 35:11 and what need you have of Christ, 35:13 you see the fact of the matter is... Satan magnifies our faults 35:16 he underlines our failures, he amplifies our weaknesses 35:19 and then he broadcasts our character malfunction, 35:23 everybody knows when you mess up 35:25 and for whatever reason, church members like to... 35:28 when something goes good, nobody knows about it, 35:32 I wish some of you will make phone calls 35:35 to talk about the good news. Audience: "Amen... " 35:37 Amen... Audience: "Amen... " 35:38 "I've been on the phone for four hours" 35:40 I'm always praying that it was a four-hour Bible Study 35:44 but in most cases it's not, 35:45 "Pastor messed up this week... " 35:48 "Ah ha, the Deacon then blew it... " 35:51 and we talk about junk... 35:54 "Brother, don't talk about junk... " 35:56 I said to my church members, 35:57 I said to those people that love Facebook, 35:59 "I wish to God people would use Facebook 36:01 to talk about Jesus... " Audience: "Amen... " 36:03 Stop putting your junk on Facebook, 36:07 as if people don't know enough about you already, 36:10 and then when you get tired of talking about yourself, 36:14 you just choose a church member to talk about. 36:16 That's what the devil does, he amplifies our faults, 36:19 he underlines our failures, he magnifies our weaknesses 36:23 and then he broadcasts our character malfunctions 36:26 so being accused by the devil 36:28 and being overcome by Satan are not the same thing, 36:31 being accused by the devil and being overcome by Satan 36:36 are not the same thing, but to accuse is what Satan does 36:39 that's why I love it when Revelation says, 36:42 "the accuser of our brethren who accused you before our God 36:46 day and night has been cast down... " 36:49 he's been kicked out, he would stand in heaven 36:52 accusing everybody, he loves to accuse... 36:54 so, when we fall into that category, 36:56 we fail to realize that being accused is one thing 36:59 but being overcome is another, 37:01 the devil does a good job, he's supposed to accuse us 37:05 but we don't have to be overcome 37:07 by the power of the enemy because 37:10 the power of God is greater. 37:12 Our Advocate is greater than our adversary, 37:16 somebody ought to say, "Amen... " 37:17 Audience: "Amen... " 37:18 Jehovah-nissi is more powerful than our nemesis, 37:21 Jehovah-nissi... Jesus is my banner... 37:25 our delivering archangel 37:28 is superior to our scandalous archenemy 37:31 we got a Savior that has never lost, 37:34 how many people will bet, now, I'm not going to do this, 37:37 I don't talk about betting 37:38 but if you were a gambling person, 37:40 would you bet on somebody 37:42 that you know loses over and over and over again? 37:44 But how good would you feel 37:46 if you were to bet on somebody that never lost? 37:48 Well, we don't have to bet tonight 37:50 because with Jesus there is no gamble, 37:52 with Jesus it's a sure thing, 37:54 that's why Paul the Apostle in Romans 8 and verse 31... 37:57 he says these words, 37:58 oh I love these words, 37:59 "What then shall we say of these things?" 38:02 Come on... let's say together... 38:03 "If God is for us, who can be against us?" 38:09 If He is for us, who's going to hit you? 38:15 When I was in High School, a little young man just... 38:20 going to... I left... 38:22 I was in public high school, I used to be a little puny kid, 38:25 please don't say anything... Audience: Laughter... 38:28 I used to be skinnier than this 38:30 and I remember entering high school 38:32 tough high school in Brooklyn, New York, 38:34 bad high school... 38:36 where they had fights almost every other day, 38:38 fighting the teachers, setting a classroom on fire, 38:41 beating up kids outside of school, 38:43 I was absent from school that year... 42 days, 38:46 I just wouldn't go, 38:48 I was tired of being picked on, I wouldn't go, 38:50 so, one day my sister caught me playing hooky, 38:52 and she said, "Why don't you go to school?" 38:54 I said, "I'm afraid to go... " she said, "Why?" 38:56 I said, "Because somebody stole my bus pass... " 38:58 they give you a pass to take the bus for free... 39:01 I said, "A guy stole my bus pass," 39:02 she said, "Who?" 39:04 I gave her his name, 39:05 she said, "I'm coming to your school tomorrow... " 39:08 my big sister brought her friend another big girl, 39:12 amen... big ladies... Audience: "Amen... " 39:14 She came with a super charged Brooklyn attitude, 39:21 "Who is he that took your bus pass?" 39:24 I said, "There he is... " 39:25 and she said, "Go and hit him on the chest" 39:28 I said, "Hit him in the chest? 39:30 I got to go to school here 39:32 when you go back to where you came from... " 39:34 She said, "If you don't hit him, I'm going to hit you" 39:36 well, that will change a whole lot of things, 39:38 so before I was converted, I went... 39:40 found all those skinny muscles I had 39:43 and hit him with all I had 39:44 and she looked at him and she said, 39:45 "Don't you ever take anything from my brother, you got that?" 39:47 I found out that my sister was "badder" than... 39:50 I won't give his name, he might be watching this, 39:54 he might be converted by now, 39:55 I found out my sister was "badder" than my nemesis, 39:58 I want to tell you, 39:59 "Jesus is 'badder' than my sister" 40:01 and she's still bad, 40:03 she works for the Police Department in New York City 40:05 and the Fire Department, she's that bad... 40:07 if you get arrested, she'll process you... 40:10 if your house is on fire, she'll help put it out, 40:11 that's how it works... 40:14 Jesus could do both things, He can... 40:17 He can light you up and cool you down when you need to be 40:19 that's why... let's... let's pause for a moment... 40:22 let's just adjust real quickly, 40:23 now, what's true about Adam and Eve, 40:25 is also true about us, 40:27 if we go back to the beginning to the first transgression 40:31 of our parents, there's a powerful parallel 40:34 between sin, salvation, judgment and victory, 40:37 that is also true about us, 40:38 let's look at that very quickly, are you ready? Here we go... 40:40 let's look at Genesis chapter 3 and verse 9, 40:43 it's true about them, it must be true about us, 40:45 now, the reason I'm going back to Adam and Eve is this 40:47 you see, this plan of salvation 40:49 at first applied just to two people, to how many? 40:53 Two... now it has applied to billions 40:56 but the plan of salvation for Adam and Eve 41:00 is the same plan of salvation for you and for me, 41:03 same plan but let's look at this, 41:05 what's the first thing the Lord did when they sinned? 41:08 Here it is, Genesis 3 and verse 9, 41:10 and the Lord said, "the LORD called to Adam and 41:13 said to Adam... " what did he say? 41:14 "Where are you?" The good news of the judgment 41:18 is when Adam fell into sin, Jesus came looking for Adam. 41:22 Adam did not have to go looking for Jesus, 41:26 Jesus came looking for Adam, which is true about who He is, 41:30 the very first thing that the Lord does for us, 41:33 the reason why the Lord came to this earth to find us 41:35 the Bible says, Luke 19:10, 41:38 "For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save... " what? 41:43 "that which was lost... " 41:45 the first truth about the judgment is this, 41:48 the commitment of Jesus in four words, 41:51 "I will find you... " 41:54 and you know what friends, He doesn't find us to accuse us, 41:58 because we already know what we've done, 42:00 He didn't say to Adam, "You know what? 42:03 I don't know why I made you" 42:04 He could have said, 42:07 "Adam, you are a poor representative of this earth" 42:09 he could have said, "As a matter of fact, 42:12 I'm doing this over, 42:13 I ain't making no more men like you 42:15 let me get this thing done all over... " 42:17 but he came to Adam and look at the next thing he did, 42:20 Genesis 3 and verse 13, first He comes to us... 42:23 first He does what friends? 42:25 He what? He comes to find us 42:27 He doesn't wait for us to try to find Him 42:30 He comes to find us in our sin, 42:32 the Bible says, Genesis 3 and verse 13, 42:34 the next thing Jesus does is this, 42:36 "And the LORD God said to the woman, 42:38 'What is this you have done?'" 42:40 the second thing He does... when He finds us... 42:44 Brother Elder, is this... He asks us to confess, 42:48 "What have you done?" 42:49 Because... because this is the fact... 42:54 "If we confess, He is faithful and just... " to do what? 42:57 "forgive... " but you've got to confess... 42:58 You see in order to appreciate the forgiveness, 43:00 you have to understand and know 43:02 and admit to what you've been forgiven from, 43:04 so when you say, "Oh, I forgive you... " 43:07 some people say, "Well, I forgive you... " 43:09 and then they say, "For what, what have I done?" 43:12 That's why you should never say to somebody, 43:14 "If I offended you, I am sorry... " 43:17 That means, you're not even sorry 43:19 because... you haven't even agreed that you offended me, 43:22 you got to agree that you did something 43:24 "Just in case I did get you upset, I'm sorry... " 43:28 that's not an apology, 43:30 that's a glass with holes in it, can't hold water... 43:34 "amen" somebody... 43:35 The Lord leads us to confess so we could know 43:39 Proverbs 28 and verse 13, and the wise men later on 43:42 began to put all these parameters of Genesis 43:45 into the other portions of the Scripture, 43:47 here's what Proverbs says, Proverbs 28 verse 13, 43:50 the Bible says, "He who covers his sins... " 43:53 shall what? "will not prosper, 43:55 But whoever... " does what? 43:57 "confesses and... " and what else? 43:59 "forsakes them will have... " what? 44:01 "mercy... " you got to first admit 44:02 you need to be forgiven 44:05 but you got to not only ask for forgiveness 44:07 but you've got to forsake that thing, 44:08 because God is not into what they call recidivism, 44:12 which just means... some people... over and over 44:15 and over and over... 44:18 it's like, "Will you ever be delivered?" 44:20 I believe that God is a greater deliverer 44:23 than Satan is a deceiver 44:25 but the third thing He did in the garden 44:28 that is a message to us today, 44:30 look at verse 21 of Genesis chapter 3, 44:31 let's move with expedition... 44:35 the third thing He did is, 44:38 He provides atonement and righteousness, 44:40 notice what He did, "Unto Adam... " the Bible says, 44:43 "also and to his wife did the LORD God make... " what? 44:47 "coats of skins... " and what else did He do? 44:50 "He clothed them... " 44:52 In the Bible when you read 44:54 about God putting clothes on anybody, 44:56 it's a symbol of His righteousness 44:58 see... they made aprons... 45:00 God said, You ain't coming to church in an apron... " 45:02 come one help me out somebody... 45:04 I'm not even going there tonight 45:06 but God knows that the way we dress ourselves 45:10 and the way He clothes us is quite a different story, 45:15 which means as Isaiah 4:1... 45:18 the declaration they made as Isaiah 4 45:19 is not a text, He says, 45:20 "We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: 45:24 only let us be called by your name, 45:26 to take away our reproach. " 45:28 There are folk today that have 45:30 their own standard of righteousness... 45:31 the standard of righteousness is God's Ten Commandments 45:34 but He says to us, 45:36 "I will cover you... I will clothe you... " 45:39 look at Isaiah 61 and verse 10, 45:41 here's how the Bible amplifies 45:43 what's found in the book of Genesis, 45:44 the prophet says, 45:47 "I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, 45:48 My soul shall be... " what? 45:50 "joyful in my God... " 45:52 why can we rejoice tonight about where we are in Jesus? 45:55 Let's say together, "For He has... " done what? 45:57 "clothed me with garments of... " what? 46:00 "salvation... " what else has He done? 46:02 "He has... " what? 46:04 "covered me with the robe of righteousness... " 46:07 and He did that by killing an animal... 46:10 and I will suggest to you the evidence I have so far, 46:13 is the first animal that was slain 46:16 was slain to cover the nakedness of Adam and Eve. 46:20 Audience: "Amen... " 46:22 That's why John in the end of the Bible says, 46:24 "Jesus... " Revelation 13:8, 46:26 "The Lamb slain from the... " what? 46:29 "foundation of the world. " 46:32 The same thing that needed to happen in Genesis, 46:35 is still available in Revelation, 46:38 but let's look at the fourth thing. 46:40 He not only atones and covers us but He assures eternal victory 46:46 over Satan and sin, Genesis 3 and verse 15, 46:48 it's amazing, the entire Plan of Salvation 46:51 is in Genesis chapter 3, 46:52 verse 15, the Bible says, this is the assurance text, 46:56 "I will put... " what? 46:58 "enmity... " look what else, "Between you and the woman, 47:02 And between... " what? 47:04 "your seed and... " what? 47:05 "her seed; He shall bruise your head, 47:07 And you shall bruise His... " what? "heel... " 47:09 Now, Sister... keep that up there for a moment 47:11 I want you to notice something on the screen, 47:13 look at the word, "between" 47:14 bring it back up there, there it is... 47:16 the word, "between" has a capital "B" 47:19 the word "Seed" has a capital "S" 47:23 let me suggest to you tonight in my theological research 47:27 I discovered... "thank you Jesus... " 47:29 I didn't discover anything, He revealed it to me, 47:33 I learned for the first time my Brothers and Sisters, 47:36 that this is the first time in history 47:39 that Jesus was introduced as the man called, "Between... " 47:45 Audience: "Amen... " 47:46 Ooooh! this is deep... are you ready for it? 47:48 because He is the One that's between heaven and hell, 47:52 between us being lost and saved, 47:54 between us staying in darkness or coming into light, 47:57 he is the man between but let me make my case clear 48:00 1st Timothy 2 and verse 15, look at what the Bible says, 48:03 "For there is one God and one Mediator... " 48:06 what's the next word? "between God and men, 48:09 that Man... " who? 48:10 "Christ Jesus... " 48:12 He is the "between God" can somebody say, "amen?" 48:14 Audience: "Amen... " 48:15 You are here... and then you met the Man between 48:17 and then He took you here... 48:18 but let's not stop there, I need some more evidence, 48:21 that's what you're asking for, Genesis 31 verse 49, 48:23 look what the Bible says, 48:24 Abraham said this to his cousin, Lot, 48:27 "The LORD watch... " where? 48:28 "between me and thee, while we are... " what? 48:31 "absent one from another. " 48:34 The Man between earth and heaven is Jesus. 48:37 Audience: "Amen... " 48:38 That's why it's sad when people pray to Mary, 48:40 Mary can't do... I need my breath for something else, 48:47 Mary can't help you, 48:50 there ain't enough beads that you can pray 48:55 to get help from Mary... 48:57 first of all, she did not survive her death, 49:00 she was chosen by God to be the delivery for Jesus, 49:09 not to be eternal like Jesus, 49:12 that's why when you see these statues 49:15 of big Mary and little Jesus, it's like... 49:18 like He never grew up, 49:19 oh, my Brothers and Sisters, He grew up, 49:22 He's the almighty One, somebody say, "amen... " 49:24 He's the One that's sitting on the right hand of the Father, 49:26 there is no lady up there, 49:28 that's why you should never pray, "Mother God... " 49:30 there is no "Mother God... " 49:31 His name is Jesus... the Man Christ Jesus... 49:35 that's why the earthly Sanctuary services had to end, 49:40 you see, Jesus died because this Sanctuary service 49:45 was a constant symbol of what was between earth and heaven 49:50 and when this earthly service accomplished its purpose, 49:55 it was no longer needed to be between us and God, 49:59 here is the reason, let me break it down, 50:01 the earthly priest could never be sinless 50:03 like our High Priest Jesus, isn't that right? 50:06 the earthly lamb could never be as spotless as Jesus, 50:10 the only blood that could atone for our sin is 50:12 the blood of who? Jesus... 50:14 the only water that can wash us away... 50:17 the only bread that can satisfy the hungry soul, 50:19 the only candle that can bring light to us in this dark world 50:23 His name is... Jesus... 50:26 that's why the Apostle Paul says this, 50:28 in Ephesians 2 and verse 14, "For he is our... " what? 50:34 "peace, who hath made both one, and... " how did He do it? 50:40 "and hath broken down the... " what? 50:43 "middle wall of partition... " where? 50:45 "between us... " 50:47 The Sanctuary services... there are those folk that think 50:50 they need to go back and keep the feasts, 50:53 you need to keep Jesus... 50:56 there are people that are talking about... 50:59 "we need to go back and keep the feasts... " 51:02 some people don't even know how to keep the commandments yet 51:05 and now they're trying to impose on you... 51:08 "We need to keep the feasts" 51:09 well, I'm going to tell you, Jesus is our Passover supper, 51:13 Jesus is our Passover Lamb, 51:14 He is the One by which we are saved, 51:17 His blood was shed, you can't keep any feasts 51:20 to be saved... 51:21 you're only saved by the merits of Christ, 51:23 that's why Jesus did something else, 51:26 number five, Jesus provided forgiveness 51:29 for.. and power over... 51:31 that's why the same grace that Jesus gave to Mary, 51:34 He gives to us, 51:36 notice what He said to this woman 51:37 who was cast at His feet, 51:39 John 8 and verse 11, John 8 and verse 11... 51:42 let's go quickly, He said to her, 51:44 "Neither do I... " do what? 51:45 "condemn thee: go, and... " do what? 51:47 "sin no more... " 51:49 now, He said to her, "I don't condemn you... " 51:52 and let me say this tonight, 51:53 the judgment is not for the purpose 51:55 of condemning His children, 51:56 even though it begins at the house of God... 51:59 1st Peter 4:17, it is not for the purpose of 52:01 killing His children, 52:03 it is for the purpose of vindicating His children. 52:07 And by the way when you say, 52:10 "the judgment... the hour of His judgment has come," 52:13 get this right, 52:14 the accusation that Satan made was not against us, 52:18 the accusation that Satan made was against Christ, 52:21 so if Satan proves Christ to be a liar, 52:25 we are all lost, 52:26 but when Jesus is vindicated, so are we. 52:30 Audience: "Amen... " 52:32 If you're in Him and He is vindicated... you got it made. 52:35 When he is declared righteous, so are we, 52:39 the judgment is terrifying 52:41 if you don't have Jesus as your judge, 52:43 it can be frightening if you don't have Him as your Lawyer, 52:45 it can be fearful if you don't know Him as your Savior, 52:49 point number 6, Jesus removes the fear of the judgment, 52:52 Jesus removes the fear of the judgment, 52:55 you see, if I represented myself in the judgment, 52:58 I can tell you the outcome, I would be lost, 53:00 but let's listen to the writer of Hebrews once again, 53:02 tonight, I haven't come to tell you how bad you are, 53:05 I've come tonight to introduce you to my Lawyer, 53:07 is that all right? 53:08 Hebrews 7 verse 25... let's move on... 53:10 you can begin playing softly Brother Neville, 53:13 you can begin playing softly that song, 53:16 "Softly and tenderly... " whatever I told you to play, 53:20 you just play that softly on the piano, 53:21 tonight... listen to my lawyer, listen to His resume, 53:25 here's what He says, 53:26 this is His resume, are you ready for it? 53:28 the Bible says, "Therefore... " Hebrews 7:25... 53:31 "Therefore He is able to save to the... " what? 53:34 "uttermost those who come to God 53:38 through Him, 53:40 since He always lives to make... " what? 53:43 "intercession for them... " only Jesus... tonight friends... 53:47 only Jesus can save you as we say in New York... 53:51 from the "guttermost to the uttermost" 53:53 only Jesus can do that... 53:55 that's why I'm not preaching about what I can do, 53:59 I'm preaching about what Jesus can do, 54:01 let me tell you what else, 54:03 I got some other people in the Bible to testify, 54:05 I asked Isaiah... and he said to me, 54:07 "Who can turn a profane man into a prophet?" 54:10 And Isaiah said, "Jesus can... " 54:11 so I said, "Peter, what do you have to say?" 54:14 Peter said, "Who can turn a liar into a preacher?" 54:17 Peter said, "Jesus can... " 54:19 so I went to David, 54:21 that man that went to bed with Bathsheba 54:23 and I said, 54:25 "David, who can turn an adulterer into the son of God?" 54:27 and he said, "Jesus can... " 54:29 but I didn't stop there, 54:31 I said, "Rahab, who can turn a prostitute into an evangelist?" 54:34 and she said, "Jesus can... " 54:36 if you don't believe me, ask my cousin, 54:37 the woman at the well, she has the same testimony... 54:40 Audience: "Amen... " 54:42 Who can turn a persecutor into a soul winner? 54:44 Paul said, "Ah, ask Saul... " 54:46 laughing... 54:49 He turned Saul into Paul... 54:50 he said, "You got to ask Saul 54:51 because I'm the one that's been delivered... " 54:53 come on somebody say "amen" tonight. 54:54 Audience: "Amen... " 54:55 You see, Jesus knows that our character 54:57 cannot endure the judgment, 54:58 and His entire mission can be summed up very simply, 55:03 He covers us... I got to get this in... 55:05 these are my closing two texts, are you ready? 55:08 He covers us with His righteousness... 55:11 He covers us with His righteousness 55:15 while He works on our character. 55:19 Audience: "Amen.. amen... " 55:20 So if you don't look like Him yet, 55:25 hold on... have you ever seen those houses... 55:28 not too far from here there's a building 55:30 covered from top to bottom in cloth... 55:32 you see what I'm talking about? 55:34 When they construct... 55:35 I noticed in London, they cover stuff with cloth, 55:37 you can't see what's going on in the inside 55:39 but one day the cloth is no longer there 55:41 and you say, "Wow! 55:42 I was wondering what they were doing all those months... " 55:47 as a matter of fact, in some cases... years... 55:49 and they remove the drapery and they say, "Wow!" 55:51 One day, God is going to remove the drapery of your sin 55:54 and you're going to look like... let's get some evidence, 55:58 here we go... 1st John 3 and verse 1 and 2, 56:00 here is what the Bible says, "Beloved... " 56:01 come on let's read together... 56:03 "Beloved... " when? Audience: "now... " 56:05 "Beloved" when? Audience: "now... " 56:07 "Beloved... " when? Audience: "now... " 56:09 "now we are the children of God... " 56:10 when are we God's children? 56:12 Tonight... Audience: "Tonight... " 56:14 "and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be... " 56:18 He's still working on me... 56:19 but here's the word of assurance "but we know... " 56:22 say together with me, 56:24 "but we know that when He is revealed, 56:27 we shall be like Him... " why? 56:31 Audience: "Amen... " 56:33 ooooh! they're going to take that curtain away 56:35 they're going to say, "John, is that you?" 56:37 "Brother Paul, is that you?" 56:40 "Brother Ed... is that our... Head... 56:42 the same guy that was in Croydon?" 56:44 Audience: "Amen... " 56:46 Yes, it is... 56:47 we shall be like Him for we shall see Him as He is... 56:50 and finally the judgment is not to bring fear in our hearts 56:54 but to bring blessed assurance 56:56 I've got to give it to you, 1st John 4:17... 56:58 my last text, "Love has been perfected 57:01 among us in this: that we may have boldness 57:05 in the day of judgment... " 57:07 why? "because as He is, 57:09 so are we... " when? 57:11 "in this world... " right now... 57:15 now, I don't know if you caught that, 57:18 we are like Jesus because of His righteousness right now... 57:24 He has covered us 57:26 so when the Father sees His Son reflected... 57:30 He accepts us in behalf of the righteousness of His Son, 57:35 He sees His Son... 57:37 Brother Paul... when the Lord looks at you, 57:39 He sees the Son... |
