00:10 I heard the voice of the Lord, saying,
00:12 "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?"
00:16 Then I said, "Here am I; send me. "

00:24 More music...
00:34 Three Angels Broadcasting Network
00:36 and the South England Conference
00:38 presents: London 2016.
00:40 Good evening everyone, it's my privilege this evening
00:48 to introduce to you Danny Shelton...
00:49 who is the Co-Founder and President and CEO
00:52 of the Three Angels Broadcasting Network.
00:55 We're really happy to have you with us, Danny,
00:58 we know that you've just arrived this morning
01:01 and you're ready to go this evening as well.
01:04 Just to my way of introduction, Danny travels extensively
01:09 throughout the United States and around the world
01:12 sharing the gospel and the miracle stories of 3ABN,
01:16 he has eight great-grandchildren...
01:20 Danny: Eight grandchildren.
01:21 Pastor: Eight grandchildren
01:23 and in his spare time he enjoys writing books
01:26 song writing... raising horses...
01:30 and good old country living,
01:32 Danny, welcome to Croydon Church
01:35 your team has been working affront of you...
01:39 in the midst of your presence here today,
01:42 they're with you as well
01:43 but we just want to give God thanks for your presence here
01:46 so just say a few words of greeting.
01:48 Danny: Thank you Pastor, hello... welcome...
01:51 and thanks for coming out.
01:53 How many of you have ever had a dream
01:55 and then been able to see it come true?
01:57 You ever... well a vision... right?
02:00 "Where there's no vision, the people perish... "
02:02 so hopefully, you all have visions
02:04 that God is leading you.
02:05 About a year ago, I was minding my own business
02:09 in the country... in Southern Illinois...
02:11 where I'm from... sleeping...
02:14 and I wake up in the morning... very early
02:17 and this thought hit me... "You need to go to London
02:20 and hold a campaign throughout the city of London. "
02:22 Now, I've been to London a couple of times
02:25 but never had any ideas of doing an Evangelistic Series
02:30 in London but you know what I said?
02:32 "This must be of the Lord... " you know why?
02:34 I said, "Why London?"
02:36 But the Bible says in Psalms, I think it's 2:8...
02:38 "Ask of me, and I'll give you
02:40 the heathen for thine inheritance,
02:41 and the uttermost parts of the earth
02:43 for thy possession. "
02:45 And so, anywhere on Planet Earth...
02:47 is a great place to tell people about Jesus, right?
02:50 Whether it be London, whether it be Russia,
02:52 whether it be South America
02:54 or right in the United States of America
02:56 so we're so thankful for working with the Conference here
03:00 and Brother de Lisser and the whole team
03:02 and working together... when we came over
03:04 and presented with Pastor Lomacang and C.A. Murray
03:07 they said, "Let's do this... let's hold it... "
03:10 we first talked about getting a big auditorium, then they said,
03:13 "No, why don't we divide up in nine or ten churches
03:16 and we'll just have revival and reformation...
03:18 and we'll bring people in...
03:19 we'll just let the Lord do what He wants to do... "
03:22 and I'm so excited from my standpoint...
03:24 I've been watching from home, from Southern Illinois...
03:28 out in the Country as the Pastor said,
03:31 watching... turning in the evening...
03:33 watching the programs and then also,
03:35 watching the Eyesight programs ahead of time
03:38 I don't know if any of you here are getting to watch those,
03:41 but they're really neat to watch,
03:42 but from this perspective, saying, "You know what?
03:44 Isn't it wonderful that we have a God
03:47 who loves us so much, He died for us,
03:49 He made a plan of salvation for us
03:52 and He's coming back very soon in the clouds of glory"
03:55 it is our responsibility and our privilege
03:58 to tell the world about Jesus Christ and Him crucified,
04:02 can somebody say, "Amen?"
04:03 Audience: "Amen... "
04:04 Danny: Now, based on that, I'm going to stop here
04:06 in just a moment I'll introduce our guest
04:09 but if you read my pin, this pin says,
04:11 "I'm on vocal rest and cannot speak"
04:13 all right, I hope my doctor in Nashville, Ladye Love,
04:17 is not watching right now, I'm supposed to...
04:20 they operated on me two-and-a-half months' ago,
04:22 he said, "I want you to take at least four months... "
04:25 first he said three... four months...
04:27 "You can't go to London... " he said,
04:29 "and do this series" so I'm not...
04:30 I'm just visiting... and I'm not speaking
04:33 or singing very much,
04:35 but just wanted to be here tonight
04:36 to say "hello" to all of you
04:38 and those watching around the world
04:40 thank you for your love and your prayers
04:41 and your support of 3ABN.
04:44 Continue to pray because we're looking for great and mighty
04:47 and marvelous things to happen
04:48 because we're all here in the name of Jesus.
04:51 Audience: "Amen... "
04:53 We have some special music tonight too,
04:55 and Reggie and Ladye Love Smith
04:58 and tonight we've got Yvonne Lewis... Dr. Yvonne Lewis
05:02 if you all want to come on up and get ready in a moment
05:06 and what a privilege it is to know these folk Pastor...
05:10 Pastor: Absolutely, yes, they've been blessing us
05:12 throughout the week with their wonderful singing.
05:14 Danny: I know Reggie and Ladye have been here,
05:17 Yvonne just came today with me so I don't know how she is awake
05:20 we actually got in this afternoon, I think,
05:23 about 2:30 after an all-night flight
05:27 but she looks awake and spry and so,
05:28 how many of you know Dr. Yvonne Lewis?
05:30 Have you seen her on 3ABN? Audience: Yes.
05:33 And she is a professional singer for many years,
05:36 she used to sing with people like Whitney Houston
05:39 and Luther Vandross and some of the names...
05:41 some of you older folk might remember, right,
05:44 and some... some of the other folk
05:46 and of course your friend Yolanda is here,
05:47 you all used to sing jingles... she sings commercials...
05:51 and... so the last one was the iPhone6 commercial you did
05:55 and then it went around the world...
05:56 Yvonne: And Yolanda too.
05:57 And so, what was the name of that, which tune did she do?
05:59 Ladye and Reggie: "Just the two of us... "
06:01 Okay, they remember... that was her...
06:03 when you heard that singing... that was Yvonne...
06:05 Yvonne: And Yolanda too. Danny: And Yolanda too...
06:08 so we're glad that you're here tonight and joining...
06:10 and you're going to be singing, "Holy, Holy, Holy. "
06:13 Walking off the stage...
06:18 Music...
06:23 More music...
06:29 Glory be to the Father and to the Son
06:38 and to the Holy Ghost...
06:44 as it was in the beginning
06:50 is now and ever shall be...
06:56 world without end...
07:03 Amen... Amen...
07:09 Music...
07:15 More music...
07:23 Some more music...
07:32 Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
07:42 Early in the morning
07:49 our soul shall rise to Thee;
07:56 Holy, holy, holy,
08:03 merciful and mighty!
08:08 God in three Persons,
08:13 blessed Trinity!
08:19 Music...
08:27 Holy, holy, holy!
08:36 though the darkness hide Thee,
08:41 Though the eye of sinful man
08:47 Thy glory may not
08:51 see...
08:56 Only Thou art holy,
09:02 there is none beside Thee.
09:08 Perfect in power,
09:15 in love and purity.
09:21 Music...
09:29 More music...
09:32 As it was in the beginning,
09:38 is now and ever shall be,
09:43 world without end, amen... amen...
09:53 amen...
09:56 Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty,
10:04 All Thy works shall praise Thy Name
10:11 in earth and sky and sea,
10:17 thousands and ten thousands
10:23 bowing down before Thee,
10:28 You are...
10:32 you are
10:35 and evermore...
10:38 shall be.
10:45 Music...
10:52 Amen...
10:58 Audience: Amen...
11:01 Pastor Lomacang: Can we say amen again...
11:07 Audience: "Amen. "
11:09 So glad to see you here tonight
11:11 glad to have Yvonne and Danny here... part of our 3ABN team.
11:16 So glad they had a safe arrival
11:18 and it's always good.
11:21 One of the things that Pastor left out on Danny's resume...
11:25 is Danny also likes to play basketball
11:27 and don't let... don't let his looks fool you...
11:34 because he is a man that believes in the health message
11:41 and when you believe in the health message,
11:44 regardless of your chronological age,
11:48 you are still new in Jesus, somebody ought to say, "Amen. "
11:50 Audience: Amen.
11:52 And so, thank you for coming from night to night
11:53 and thank you for being here,
11:56 now, I don't know how much time I have left,
11:59 but I'm just going to go ahead and use whatever I have
12:03 to give the Lord the glory that I need to give Him.
12:07 Tonight, bow your heads with me
12:10 as we go to the Word of God in prayer.
12:13 "Father in heaven, bless this message in Jesus' name. Amen. "
12:18 The message is entitled, "Out with the Old. "
12:22 What is the title? "Out with the Old... "
12:25 which means... "In with the New. "
12:27 We begin by going to Matthew 9 verse 16 to 17,
12:31 the Bible says,
12:33 "No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment;
12:39 for the patch pulls away from the garment,
12:43 and the tear is made worse. "
12:45 Verse 17... "Nor do they put... "
12:49 what kind of wine? "new wine... "
12:52 in what kind of wineskins?
12:54 "old wineskins,
12:56 or else the wineskins... "
12:58 let's say together... "break... "
13:00 the wine is spilled, the wineskins are ruined...
13:04 but they put new wine into...
13:08 what kind of wineskins?
13:09 "new wineskins, and then both are... " what?
13:13 "are preserved. "
13:15 My wife... and I believe hands down
13:18 makes the best vegetarian meatloaf I've ever had.
13:22 Audience: "Amen. "
13:23 I've got an "amen section" to my left
13:25 over here, they've been there,
13:26 they know that for a fact,
13:28 but I remember trying to eat the same vegetarian meatloaf
13:34 five days in a row,
13:35 it was delicious the first time she baked it,
13:42 it was acceptable when she reheated it,
13:46 it was tolerable when she microwaved it,
13:51 the fourth day I ate it, simply out of respect,
13:56 not out of delight,
13:58 when the fifth day arrived, out of mercy, thank God,
14:03 out of mercy, she did not give me any,
14:06 come one, say "amen" somebody. Audience: "Amen. "
14:08 And I believe the reason is,
14:09 she looked at my face
14:10 and my entire expression was saying,
14:12 "Please, out with the old... in with the new. "
14:16 The reality is, no matter how good a thing is,
14:19 unless it remains new and fresh,
14:22 it loses its appeal,
14:25 no matter how long you've lived the life that you enjoy,
14:28 unless it is made new in Christ,
14:31 as time goes on, it will lose its appeal.
14:34 No matter how exciting it was at the time
14:38 of its first presentation, nobody likes stale food.
14:42 No one remains interested in a meal
14:46 whose best days are long gone, but don't forget,
14:52 and old recipe is not the same as old food...
14:55 and old recipe means that the bugs have been worked out
14:58 and old food means that nothing but bugs remain.
15:03 Old time religion... and stale religion
15:08 is not the same thing.
15:10 When Jesus came,
15:13 He came and brought that tested religion
15:15 that religion that had all the bugs worked out,
15:19 that religion that was tried and tested
15:21 through trial and tribulation and hardship and endurance.
15:25 When Jesus came, He brought religion
15:28 that the prophets filed it down...
15:30 that many prophets gave their lives to preserve it.
15:34 When Jesus came, He came to capstone the gospel,
15:37 He came to add His approval to something
15:40 that existed for a long time,
15:42 that's why in these last days, Revelation calls it,
15:45 "The everlasting gospel" what does it call it?
15:48 Audience: An everlasting gospel.
15:50 In other words... from the Garden of Eden to today,
15:52 the gospel has been good news,
15:54 so, don't ever call the old gospel, "the stale gospel,"
15:58 it just means that you have not been exposed
16:01 to something that has worked
16:03 in the lives of the apostles and prophets,
16:05 in the lives of men and women that have followed Jesus,
16:08 thousands have given their lives...
16:10 millions... because when this new gospel gets into your life,
16:14 it will do a new thing.
16:16 The same thing is true about the Christian experience
16:19 no matter how good your life was before Jesus,
16:23 unless it is made new it loses its appeal
16:26 and Jesus came to get rid of the old
16:29 and to give us the new.
16:31 Look at Isaiah 43 verses 18 and 19...
16:33 He came to get rid of the old life
16:36 and give us the new life.
16:38 He says in His Word, "Do not... "
16:42 what are the first two words? Audience: "Do not... "
16:44 "Do not remember... " the what?
16:46 "the former things, nor consider... " the what?
16:50 "the things of old. Behold, I will... "
16:52 let's say together... "do a new thing,
16:55 Now it shall spring forth;
16:58 Now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it?
17:05 It will even make a road in the wilderness
17:09 and rivers in the desert. "
17:13 "Road in the wilderness...
17:16 and rivers in the desert. "
17:18 The fact of the matter is
17:20 nothing changed by the time Jesus began His ministry,
17:24 absolutely nothing changed
17:25 but every attempt that Jesus made,
17:27 to redirect the Pharisees to a living experience
17:30 was often met with suspicion and rejection
17:34 the fact of the matter is,
17:35 truth became the prisoner of tradition,
17:38 joy was handcuffed by rituals, and piety replaced humility,
17:43 the Pharisees had become so accustomed to the way they lived
17:48 that when Jesus came, they could not embrace the fact
17:52 that He was the new man, He was not the first Adam,
17:55 He was the last Adam,
17:57 He was not the man that had lost His appeal,
17:59 He was the man that had the only "appeal" worth accepting.
18:03 Jesus came to a church that had become steeped in tradition,
18:07 now let me say something,
18:09 and I want you to listen carefully.
18:10 No matter how long you've done something,
18:13 if Jesus is not in it, it's tradition.
18:17 It's old... Jesus came to Sabbath keepers
18:22 that kept the Sabbath,
18:24 they didn't share the Sabbath, they kept the Sabbath.
18:27 Jesus came to people that had the right diet
18:31 but the wrong attitude,
18:32 they would tell you what to do
18:35 but they wouldn't do it themselves.
18:37 The Bible says...
18:38 the Pharisees placed burdens on the people
18:40 that they themselves would not live by
18:43 and so, when you get caught in tradition
18:45 and forget to get caught up in Jesus,
18:48 you might do the right thing but for the wrong reasons.
18:50 Jesus came to give us a new way of life
18:53 and give us the right reason to do the right things
18:57 but He was always confronted by a nation
19:00 that accepted the message but rejected the Messiah,
19:04 they had the right message but they had the wrong motive
19:06 which brings me to a very important point,
19:09 it is not possible to get new results
19:12 out of old behavior.
19:14 Let's look at that again, Matthew 9 verses 16 and 17,
19:18 let's look at it again, the same passage.
19:22 "No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth
19:25 on an old garment... "
19:27 have you tried that before, I did once,
19:30 I had an old pair of jeans that had torn
19:32 and I loved them so much that I cut a pair of old...
19:36 I cut a pair of new denim off of a new jeans
19:40 to patch my old jeans that I had fallen in love with,
19:43 when I washed it, the new cloth
19:48 pulled that area that I sewed together so tightly
19:52 that when I wore it,
19:54 it looked like I had a bubble in my knee.
19:55 because it hadn't shrunk yet
19:58 so you don't put un-shrunk cloth on an old garment
20:02 for it pulls away the patch from the garment
20:04 and a tear is made even worse than before.
20:06 "Nor do you put... " verse 17...
20:09 "new wine in old wineskins, or else the wineskins break
20:14 the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined.
20:18 But they put new wine into new wineskins... "
20:20 and let's say together... "and both are... "
20:23 let's say together, "preserved. "
20:25 Now, let me break this new wineskin and old wineskin
20:30 and "new wine" and "old wine" down
20:32 because this is vitally important
20:34 for the proliferation of this topic,
20:36 for the understanding of this topic tonight.
20:39 It's not about old wine in new wineskins,
20:43 it's about new wine in old wineskins.
20:46 I did my homework on the new wine
20:50 and the old wine skins... follow me very carefully...
20:52 I am not scientific so bear with me if I try to sound that way,
20:56 new wine freshly pressed... put on your spiritual ears...
21:04 new wine freshly pressed is in a state of active fermentation,
21:11 in other words, the moment it leaves the fruit,
21:14 the moment it's pressed into juice,
21:16 it begins a process of fermentation,
21:18 some of you know that,
21:19 when you come to Thanksgiving
21:21 which we have, in the United States,
21:22 we have in the United States something called Thanksgiving.
21:24 You don't have it here because the Pilgrims from here
21:27 discovered the United States, amen, somebody...
21:30 when they got there,
21:32 the Indians were already there but they "discovered" it...
21:35 so every year we celebrate something called: Thanksgiving
21:38 where we get together and people like homemade apple cider,
21:42 but if you've ever had homemade apple cider,
21:45 you know, you'd better drink that homemade apple cider
21:49 on the first day... because when it stays overnight,
21:52 it starts to what...? Ferment...
21:55 and it's even worse when you leave it out
21:57 because you open the cap the next day
21:59 and you hear, "Pish... " and some of you Adventists,
22:03 take note of the sound and drink it anyway.
22:05 Ah ha ha...
22:08 and you wonder why on Sabbath morning,
22:11 you can't listen to the sermon
22:12 because you're putting fermented things in your mind
22:15 come one now, somebody...
22:16 let me continue sounding scientific.
22:19 The new wine remains fresh only... this is powerful...
22:24 only for a particular length of time,
22:27 in other words, when it becomes new,
22:30 it can only stay new for a particular period of time,
22:33 something has to happen for the new wine to be preserved.
22:37 The new wineskins are now introduced
22:40 and these new wineskins have not yet been exposed
22:44 to any wine... they're brand new,
22:47 you buy 'em... and they are pliable...
22:50 they are soft... and they are flexible...
22:54 the new wineskins... and here's the reason why...
22:57 they have not absorbed wine yet, so they are pliable... and soft,
23:03 like people that hear the gospel for the first time
23:06 and their hearts are opened and receptive to it,
23:09 they are soft... and flexible...
23:12 and they are looking for this new walk with Christ
23:14 and so when the new wine is introduced,
23:16 and their hearts are soft and their minds are flexible,
23:19 it's easy to put a new idea
23:22 in a heart that's willing to listen to the Word of Jesus...
23:26 soft and flexible.
23:28 The next process is the new wine
23:31 the walls are not yet contaminated,
23:35 this is a very interesting process because what happens is
23:37 when wine is continually put in the same wineskin
23:41 over and over and over and over again,
23:44 they tell me, scientifically, that the walls of the wineskin
23:48 begin to absorb the old wine
23:50 until the point where the walls become brittle
23:53 and it loses its ability to continue to absorb,
23:57 so what happens now is if you put...
23:59 this is powerful... if you put new wine in old wineskins
24:05 that have already absorbed wine over and over again,
24:10 the new wine... are you ready?
24:14 The new wine starts to spoil immediately.
24:18 That's powerful... let me tell you what I'm talking about,
24:21 when your mind is not made new in Christ,
24:24 and you're comfortable with the old things in your life
24:28 and something new comes in, your mind's attitude...
24:32 your life's condition makes the new things
24:35 seem like it's spoiled, when in fact it's new.
24:39 but because your mind has absorbed so much junk
24:44 that it cannot absorb and make room for the new wine,
24:47 so the sediment that's there, what word did I just say?
24:51 The sediment that's built up in your life
24:55 does not allow the new wine to be absorbed.
24:58 You see, the topic tonight is:
25:00 Out with the Old and in with the... what?
25:02 Audience: And in with the new.
25:03 So here's the point, until we are made new in Jesus,
25:07 until we are made new in Jesus,
25:12 until our minds are made new and our lives are made new,
25:16 I can preach the new gospel all year long
25:20 but it won't even impact your life
25:22 because it's barred by the sediment of your old life,
25:26 it's barred by the sediment of your old ways of living,
25:31 it's barred by the sediment of your tradition,
25:34 by the sediment of the way you enjoyed eating
25:37 and the way you enjoyed your entertainment,
25:39 come on somebody...
25:40 it's barred by the things that you've allowed
25:43 to be absorbed in your life for years to come,
25:45 the fact of the matter is, we can't live a new life
25:49 with old practices,
25:51 the old life cannot absorb
25:54 the new life...
25:56 that's why Jesus said to Nicodemus,
25:58 notice John 3 and verse 7, here's what He said,
26:01 Nicodemus had sediment of all kinds in his life,
26:05 that's why Jesus said to Nicodemus,
26:07 notice what He said,
26:08 He said, "Do not marvel that I say to you... "
26:11 let's say together church...
26:12 "you must be born again"
26:15 all this stuff we've been talking about
26:17 for the past ten nights, it means absolutely nothing
26:20 to your old mind unless you're born again.
26:23 We talked about the new health plan last night,
26:26 God's best health care plan...
26:29 I looked out in the audience, I saw some people angry,
26:32 I had suggested, "You got to give up your pork"
26:34 they looked like, "I ain't giving up nothing"
26:37 got to eat right, got to get rid of your alcohol
26:40 even if you sip it once in a while,
26:43 and their minds were so fermented
26:45 and so sedimentary... so sedimentary blocked
26:49 but they could not absorb this message.
26:51 I heard people grumbling, "myum... myum... "
26:57 you were excited about the financial plan
27:01 because everybody likes money, "amen" somebody...
27:03 the financial plan... everybody was excited...
27:05 Jesus will provide all my needs, He provides needs,
27:10 He's a new God, He provides our needs
27:13 but, what we have to also include...
27:16 He provides our needs
27:18 but He wants our lives to be made new in Him.
27:22 Nicodemus challenged the theology of Jesus.
27:26 Look at verse 4 of John chapter 3,
27:28 look at what he said, this is kind of how we are,
27:32 I've had people that challenged what I preach
27:35 they send me e-mails, they say,
27:37 "I don't like what you said on 3ABN... "
27:39 and I said,
27:41 "Was it what I said or was it how you received it?"
27:43 It's often how you receive it, my dearly departed friend now,
27:47 Elder Brooks who's resting in Jesus,
27:48 he said, "Sun could melt butter but hardened clay... "
27:54 there's nothing wrong with the sun
27:56 but it's the condition of the human mind
27:58 that determines how something is absorbed.
28:00 Somebody would say at the end of the sermon,
28:02 "Pastor, I love that sermon... "
28:04 somebody else will say, "I ain't coming back... "
28:07 it's not the message, it's the condition of the mind.
28:09 Nicodemus challenged the theology of Jesus,
28:13 notice what he said, in verse 4 of John chapter 3,
28:16 Nicodemus said to Him,
28:17 this was a man that was well trained theologically,
28:20 he was a Pharisee, he had been around,
28:22 he had many degrees and he said,
28:24 "How can a man be born when he is... " what?
28:27 When he is old, "Can he enter a second time
28:31 into his mother's womb and be born?"
28:34 Now, you know, Jesus could have said,
28:38 "Now, Nicodemus, that's foolish,
28:39 you are highly educated in the school of the prophets
28:44 and you talk foolishly,
28:45 you know about biology, this is not a biological process
28:49 I introduced to you,
28:50 this is about a spiritual process... "
28:52 Nicodemus was in essence saying...
28:55 let me break this attitude of Nicodemus down,
28:58 Nicodemus was in essence saying to Jesus,
29:00 "Do you know how long it's taken me
29:03 to get to where I am?"
29:04 Some of you've been living the same way for so long,
29:08 you've got the "Nicodemus Syndrome"
29:11 "How am I going to change,
29:13 look... do you know how old I am?"
29:15 I've had some people come up to me and call me, "Sonny"
29:17 they say, "Sonny, you just came on the scene
29:20 and you're trying to tell me how to live?"
29:22 I ain't trying to tell you anything,
29:25 I'm preaching to you the Word of God, amen... somebody...
29:27 Nicodemus was in essence saying,
29:29 "I've been living like this for so long
29:31 and all of a sudden you come along and say
29:33 that I've got to change now?
29:35 I've been eating like this... and dressing like this
29:38 and I've been attending the same synagogue
29:41 and you come and tell me I've got to change now?"
29:44 He said, "Jesus, I'm comfortable with my life,
29:50 and unless you haven't noticed
29:53 I'm too old to change... "
29:55 Jesus was confronted with ritualistic religion
30:02 and old paradigms,
30:05 you see, whenever we get together
30:07 and have an evangelistic series,
30:09 we talked about the statistics of witches in London,
30:12 we said there were about 80,000 registered witches in London...
30:16 pause...
30:18 now, I don't know if any of the witches
30:20 came to our meetings,
30:22 but I recommend that a lot of you are Christians,
30:24 somebody ought to say, "Amen... "
30:25 Audience: "Amen. "
30:27 I'm less concerned about the witches
30:29 who know they worship the devil
30:32 than Christians that don't know how to worship Jesus
30:36 because sometimes we figure...
30:40 we figure we got this thing so worked out
30:42 based on our tradition,
30:43 we've got some second- and third-generation Christians here
30:46 some people have been Methodists all their lives,
30:48 some people have been Baptists all their lives
30:50 some people say,
30:51 "I'm a fourth-generation Adventist... "
30:53 what does that mean?
30:54 "No matter what generation you are,
30:57 Nicodemus, you must be born again"
31:00 because you cannot be saved by osmosis,
31:04 you don't get on a family conveyor belt
31:08 and go in just because your mother was righteous.
31:10 Though Daniel, Job and Noah were in it, the Bible says,
31:14 "they will neither save their son nor their daughter... "
31:17 as one of my good friends, Walter Pierson said,
31:20 "You could be born on the front pew of the church
31:22 on Sabbath morning... you still have to be born again. "
31:24 When Jesus preached, there was nothing wrong with His message
31:30 but the Pharisees were old wineskins
31:33 with inflexible walls,
31:35 everything that Jesus taught was corrupted
31:38 by their fermented traditions,
31:40 they could not absorb the gospel because
31:42 their walls... hear me carefully were hardened,
31:45 by formal religion and tradition.
31:48 Matter of fact, one more scientific fact,
31:50 hear me carefully,
31:51 the walls were coated with sediment called,
31:54 "albuminoidal matter" don't ask me to say that again,
31:59 which means, if new wine was introduced
32:03 into old wineskins, it will ferment immediately,
32:08 stuff that was caked upon the wall was always there.
32:12 Let me use an illustration.
32:14 Imagine somebody invites you to their home
32:17 and they give you something to drink
32:19 and you taste it and you say,
32:23 "Why does it taste like this?"
32:27 And they say, "I don't know, I just opened the can"
32:30 and they show you the brand-new can...
32:32 they prove their point,
32:34 they show you the brand-new opened can of juice,
32:36 and they say, "taste it again... "
32:39 and you taste it again
32:41 and based on what it should taste like,
32:42 based on the name on the can... grape...
32:45 it doesn't taste anything like grape juice,
32:47 so they say, "Well, let me bring you some more,
32:49 so they pour it again... out of the same jug...
32:52 try it this time, and it tastes the same way
32:54 and then you say,
32:56 "Could you give me something else to drink?"
32:58 And you come to... you go home
33:00 you buy the same thing on the way home
33:03 from the same store... the same manufacturer...
33:06 the same flavor and you put it in your jug
33:09 and it tastes new
33:11 and then you go back to Brother Smith's house
33:14 only to find out that Brother Smith
33:16 hasn't washed that jug for four years.
33:19 Audience: Laughing...
33:22 It tastes like it should have tasted four years ago
33:26 but because of the film in the jug...
33:29 I've been to some people's houses,
33:31 I wouldn't drink anything from them
33:33 no disrespect but I'm never thirsty when I'm there,
33:38 I see that glass... "No... um... not that glass"
33:43 I see the cat on the stove, not that stove,
33:47 I see the dog licking out of the same plate
33:49 that looked like the one on the plate...
33:52 "I ain't hungry... "
33:53 Audience: Laughing...
33:55 You know what I'm talking about?
33:56 So what happens? Many of us...
33:58 many of us have sediment... have what friends?
34:01 Sediment in our lives
34:03 that had been built up for so long...
34:05 see tonight's message is powerful...
34:07 you've got to get the insert for tonight's message
34:11 and you got to go home and study it,
34:12 it is so concentrated that you got to pray
34:16 for the Lord to give you some new eyes
34:19 when you pick it up because it ain't planned...
34:22 when I put that together, I said,
34:24 "Lord, you sure you want me to talk about this in London?"
34:27 And He said, "You don't worry about it,
34:29 Jeremiah, you go and write it down
34:31 and I'll send my Holy Spirit to give them new eyes
34:35 and a new attitude to accept this message. "
34:37 "Amen... " somebody... Audience: "Amen... "
34:39 But you know what happens?
34:40 Some of us have the same "Nicodemus Syndrome"
34:43 and we say with the old cliché,
34:45 "You can't teach an old dog... new tricks. "
34:48 Now that's true if you're a dog,
34:50 amen somebody... but I ain't a dog...
34:54 I ain't a dog and I ain't a dawg...
34:57 come on somebody... got this new attitude
34:59 now-a-days people say, "Hey dawg... "
35:01 now, you don't talk that way in England
35:03 I'm so glad to be in England for a chance,
35:05 no matter how...
35:07 I mean, I've seen people that look like bums
35:08 but they have the most beautiful accent.
35:10 You can look bad but still sound good in England.
35:14 "Good morning... how are you?"
35:18 "Be-you-ful... "
35:20 guy looks like he just drank five beers,
35:23 "Be-you-ful... "
35:25 He sounds nice...
35:27 we've got to train people how to talk like that in America.
35:29 The fact of the matter is Jesus is not a dog trainer,
35:34 hear me carefully, Jesus is not a "dog trainer"
35:37 he is a "life transformer," somebody ought to say amen.
35:40 Look at 2nd Corinthians 5 and verse 17,
35:43 the Bible says it very clearly,
35:44 this man, Jesus... came to do something new in our lives,
35:47 He says, "Therefore if anyone" if anyone...
35:51 if how many of us?
35:52 "If anyone is in Christ, he is a... " what?
35:55 new creation...
35:56 look at the new wine and the old wine
35:59 "old things have... " what? "passed... "
36:01 another word for "passed away" is buried...
36:03 "behold... " how many things?
36:06 "all things have become new"
36:09 some of you got to bury some stuff in your house
36:13 so that Jesus can come in.
36:15 I went to the home of a family
36:17 that had all kinds of apparitions
36:19 going on in their house,
36:21 not even a member of our church,
36:23 but somebody told them, "Invite Pastor Lomacang"
36:26 and I went in and I said,
36:29 "Well, tell me what the problem is"
36:30 they said, "Well, when we're eating dinner,
36:31 we see people walk through our kitchen
36:34 and then they disappear as they get to our stove. "
36:37 "And what else?"
36:39 "And when we're watching television,
36:41 sometimes they walk right behind us
36:43 and just disappear into thin air. "
36:45 Now some of you West Indians
36:49 would have moved out the first time you'd seen that...
36:51 "I gone... you know... "
36:55 So I said, so I asked them, I said,
37:01 "So, so... are you Christians?"
37:04 "Oh, yes we are, we attend... "
37:05 they mentioned the local church
37:07 it wasn't our church...
37:08 "Well, do you pray?" "Yeah, we pray... "
37:10 And I asked them the question,
37:11 "What kind of entertainment do you have in this house?"
37:14 "Oh we love scary movies... "
37:17 and they opened their library...
37:19 and to my surprise,
37:21 from the ceiling to the floor... from left to right...
37:23 every scary, demonic movie you can find...
37:27 they said, "We love scary movies. "
37:30 I said, "How many... how much money have you... "
37:34 and I looked at that library... and I felt bad
37:36 but you know what I told them... the father?
37:38 I said, "I know it's going to sound awful,
37:41 but until you get rid of all those movies,
37:44 you're going to have visitors...
37:45 the kind of visitors you don't want in your house. "
37:51 Some people have stuff in their houses
37:54 that are connected to their old wineskins,
37:57 and we preach, "Start studying your Bible"
37:59 and they still study their Bible...
38:02 you can't study your Bible and watch that stuff.
38:04 You've got to choose who to serve.
38:06 So when we talk about the old wine...
38:08 "Out with the old, in with the new"
38:10 you got to make decisions.
38:11 If you want to really get ready for Jesus to come,
38:14 you ought to start looking at stuff
38:16 that would get your mind ready,
38:17 listen to music that will get your heart ready,
38:20 some people... on Sabbath morning
38:22 are boogying in the pulpit,
38:23 while the song is completely different
38:25 because on their way to church
38:28 they were listening to "old wine... "
38:30 and they're "wine... ing" in church now,
38:31 Audience: Laugher...
38:33 Can I tell it like it is?
38:36 Audience: "Amen... amen... "
38:39 So when you get stuck in a rut... that's one thing...
38:41 but when you get comfortable in your rut,
38:43 that's something altogether different,
38:44 many of you are comfortable in the rut of traditional religion
38:48 now you ought to get rid of that idea
38:50 because some people say,
38:52 "Well, it was good enough for my mother,
38:54 it was good enough for my grandmother,
38:56 and so it must be good enough for me. "
38:57 So get rid of your car and go get a horse and buggy
39:01 like your grandmamma had...
39:02 it was good enough for her,
39:04 see how quickly you get to work with that
39:06 horse and buggy mentality.
39:07 Some people are comfortable in the rut of cultural eating,
39:11 people are dying from bad health practices
39:14 that they refuse to change
39:16 and every night, praise the Lord,
39:18 Dr. Chitty does such a wonderful job...
39:20 but some people look at that stuff and say,
39:22 "Hmmm... I ain't changing nothing...
39:26 ain't no way. "
39:28 Story of a young lady that was converted
39:31 from the preaching of one of our pastors
39:35 in the United States in Alabama
39:36 as a matter of fact, it was Little Richard's sister,
39:39 old well-known Little Richard... "Good Golly Miss Molly"
39:42 his Little Richard...
39:43 his sister got baptized and came home
39:45 and the mother who was Baptist at the time said,
39:47 "How can you get baptized in the Adventist church
39:49 without telling me first?"
39:50 She said, "My relationship with Jesus is my business"
39:53 and she said,
39:55 "Mama, we ain't eating no pork anymore"
39:57 she went in this fridge and starts throwing out...
39:59 her mother's pork...
40:00 She said, "Girl, you'd better close that fridge... "
40:02 she said, "When I close it,
40:03 the pork will be gone"
40:05 she started clearing it out.
40:07 You got to get rid of the old and make room for the new,
40:09 amen... somebody... Audience: Amen...
40:11 because there ain't going to be no pork chops in heaven.
40:13 Ain't going to be no "time of trouble"
40:16 for the turkeys, amen.
40:19 No cows are going to be running from us,
40:22 "here come those Adventists... "
40:23 because see, we still... we got to work our way out,
40:28 it's okay to be clean but brethren,
40:31 get ready for Jesus to come, somebody ought to say, "amen. "
40:33 Somebody is comfortable in the rut of worldly fashion,
40:37 I went to a church in Miami, Florida,
40:39 talking to a group of men,
40:41 they had a hard time thinking about Jesus on Sabbath morning,
40:44 they said, "Pastor, we don't want any women
40:47 in our Seminar on Sunday, we want just men
40:49 because we got to talk about 'men issues. '"
40:51 And I said, "Well, what's wrong?"
40:53 One young man stood up, he was about this high...
40:56 maybe the height of Zacchaeus...
40:58 I don't know how tall Zacchaeus was,
41:00 but he was a little guy and he said,
41:02 "Pastor... " he said,
41:04 "it's so hard when I go to church on Sabbath morning
41:06 to focus on Jesus"
41:08 And I said, "Well why?"
41:09 And he said, "Well, this is Miami
41:11 and it's hot all year long...
41:12 and some of the sisters come to church
41:14 like it's hot all year long, with the dresses really high
41:18 and the tops really low
41:20 and they don't try to hide anything... " and he said...
41:23 I said, "Brother, you know what you need to do,
41:25 you need to lift up your eyes unto the hills
41:26 from whence comes your help... "
41:29 He said, "Pastor, I'm so short that when I lift up my eyes,
41:33 I'm chest-high with the sisters... "
41:34 I said, "Well, you ought to pray that the sisters
41:39 that are righteous
41:40 help the sisters that are on their way to being righteous. "
41:42 But let me make a point,
41:44 there are some folk that will come to church dressed that way,
41:46 don't think that they are more of a sinner than you are
41:49 because some people come to church trying to find Jesus
41:52 and they come presenting the best they have
41:54 so don't think that external realities
41:59 measure up to internal realities.
42:02 Sometimes you see what you think you see
42:05 when the fact is,
42:06 that's Mary Magdalene looking for Jesus
42:08 to wash His feet,
42:10 Audience: "Amen. "
42:11 That's why in my church, I've got a simple process,
42:16 no standards for fellowship, "Come as you are... "
42:21 if you can stumble into the church
42:24 after you finished a beer come on in...
42:26 I was sitting in the Pastor's office
42:28 and I smelled smoke coming through the window
42:29 and I said, "Praise the Lord, there's ministry going on here,
42:32 folk that can come here that smoke and take drugs
42:38 or strung out on something,
42:39 they can come and find comfort in Jesus right here... "
42:42 amen, Croydon... Audience: "Amen... "
42:43 Don't stop them from coming, no...
42:45 "come as you are"
42:47 but when you become a Christian...
42:49 when you become a part of the fellowship,
42:52 there are standards for membership
42:54 and high standards for leadership
42:56 you got to reflect Christ but let Jesus...
43:00 see our jobs are to catch the fish...
43:02 it's Jesus' job to clean the fish.
43:05 Audience: "Amen... amen... "
43:07 Don't forget that,
43:09 some folks try to clean up people
43:11 after they've just joined the church one week...
43:13 "You got an butter in that thing,
43:15 any oil in that thing... are you a vegan?"
43:18 "No, I just became a Christian... what's a vegan?"
43:22 Give the Lord time to get folk ready for the kingdom,
43:26 amen, somebody... Audience: "Amen. "
43:28 There are some people comfortable
43:29 in the rut of worldly fashion,
43:31 that young man... I tell you, it was a difficult thing for him
43:33 there are some people that are comfortable
43:34 in the rut of corrupt entertainment,
43:36 they're polluting their minds with the old
43:39 trying to get ready for the new,
43:41 but I'll tell you what, there's no such thing
43:43 as living the old life, getting ready for the new life,
43:47 it's impossible to desire new things
43:50 if you keep feeding on the old things.
43:53 Look at Luke 5 and verse 39 Luke 5 and verse 39,
43:57 pause...
44:01 the Bible says, this is powerful...
44:04 let me give you the point that I'm leading...
44:06 it is not possible to desire the new
44:08 if we keep feeding on the old.
44:10 Here's what Luke says, "And no one... " how many?
44:13 Audience: "No one... "
44:15 "No one having drunk the old... "
44:18 this is... this is powerful...
44:20 no one having drunk the old immediately desires the new
44:26 for he says, "oooh... the old is better"
44:30 pause...
44:35 when all you're drinking is the old
44:38 you conclude that the old is better,
44:41 that's what it is,
44:42 some folk come into these meetings,
44:43 they've heard about the commandments of God,
44:45 but they say, "Well, in my church
44:47 we really don't have to keep the commandments...
44:48 the old is better... "
44:50 we're talking about the Sabbath that Jesus blessed
44:53 at the end of Creation week,
44:54 that the Old Testament followers kept...
44:57 that Jesus kept... that the disciples kept...
44:59 that the apostles kept,
45:01 that the church that's getting ready for eternity keeps,
45:04 that will be kept in heaven and they hear about the Sabbath
45:07 and they say, "the old is better. "
45:09 They hear what the Bible says
45:13 but they say, "My pastor says... "
45:14 let me make a point, "if your pastor says anything
45:17 that's different from the Bible, follow the Bible...
45:20 the blind leading the blind...
45:23 both of you all are going to have accidents"
45:25 Stevie Wonder and Jose Feliciano driving together are in trouble
45:29 uh... huh...
45:32 don't think about that too long.
45:35 The great barrier to the new life
45:37 is a constant dying of the old
45:39 but when we are made new in Christ,
45:41 our eyes will be opened to see what Jesus sees
45:44 and to think like Jesus thinks
45:46 and to live like Jesus lived.
45:49 Even your faith will be changed,
45:51 even your... what will be changed?
45:53 Your faith will be changed,
45:55 you see, man says, "I believe it... when I see it"
45:58 Jesus says, "You'll see it when you believe it"
46:01 think about that for a moment,
46:03 "you'll see it when you believe it"
46:05 we walk by faith and not by sight,
46:07 "without faith it is impossible to please Him... "
46:13 if you believe God's Word, you'll see it
46:16 but if you want to see it before you believe it,
46:18 it will never happen, that's why He said to Thomas,
46:21 "Blessed are those who have not seen and yet... " what?
46:23 "and yet believed... " so the first step is this
46:26 how can I change when I am old...
46:28 here's how you do it, Colossians 1 verse 27,
46:31 the first step is invite Jesus to come in...
46:34 let's say that together, what?
46:35 "Invite Jesus... " to do what? "to come in"
46:39 here it is, "Which is Christ in you... "
46:43 the what? "the hope of glory. "
46:45 Everything I've said thus far,
46:47 everything you've heard for the last ten nights,
46:49 in the last ten messages
46:50 mean absolutely nothing if Jesus is not in first.
46:54 It doesn't matter, it doesn't make a difference,
46:57 you can have a clean diet...
46:59 without the transforming touch of Jesus,
47:02 it doesn't mean anything
47:04 but let me even give you some more encouragement,
47:06 when you invite Jesus in,
47:07 the transformation from the old to the new begins
47:10 because it's not you that's making the change,
47:13 it's Christ in you that is the hope of glory
47:16 when Jesus comes in, hear me...
47:18 and I know this personally, when Jesus comes in,
47:21 He starts making the change but even going a step further,
47:24 He even awakens your desire
47:27 and then He does it by your willingness,
47:29 look at the next steps,
47:30 Philippians chapter 2 and verse 13,
47:33 the Bible says clearly,
47:35 "For it is God... " for who... is it church?
47:37 "it is God which worketh in you both to... " what?
47:40 "to will and to... " what else?
47:43 "do of his good pleasure"
47:45 this is powerful... when He comes in...
47:47 He gives you the will...
47:51 and then He does it as long as you're willing,
47:54 I showed you the glove the other night,
47:57 that beautiful leather glove...
47:58 until I put my hand in that beautiful glove,
48:02 it just had a good exterior, without Christ on the inside,
48:05 we could look good on the outside
48:07 but we have no ability
48:09 to live in harmony with anything said in God's Word,
48:12 Jesus comes in... the second thing...
48:16 "how can you be born again when you are old... "
48:19 the second thing is, "study God's Word daily"
48:22 together say that, "study God's Word daily... "
48:25 now, the Bible is more than just a book of prophecy
48:27 and poems and good stories and drama
48:29 and all that other good stuff...
48:31 the Bible is a book that breathes...
48:33 what is it? It's a book that breathes,
48:35 remember the second presentation,
48:37 but not only that... it's food,
48:39 what is it? It's good food...
48:41 you know how I know that? Because novels are junk food.
48:46 Pause...
48:48 Tabloids... junk food...
48:52 Bible... good food...
48:55 that's why Jesus said,
48:58 "We live by every word... that proceeds from His mouth"
49:02 here it is, study God's Word daily,
49:04 look at what the Thessalonians did,
49:06 1st Thessalonians chapter 2 and verse 13,
49:10 let's look at that together, the Bible says,
49:13 "For this reason... " Paul is saying,
49:15 "For this reason we also thank God without... " what?
49:18 "without ceasing, because when you received
49:21 the word of God which you heard from us,
49:23 you welcomed it not as the word of the preacher...
49:28 not as the word of men but as it is in truth... " what?
49:32 "The word of God... " but get this...
49:34 "which also effectively works in you who believe. "
49:38 Let me use a contemporary illustration
49:41 you can have the best vitamin cabinet in the earth,
49:44 but if you don't take the vitamins,
49:45 they ain't going to do you nothing,
49:47 you can have the best allergy medication
49:50 but unless you take it you will have allergies,
49:52 it's not what's in your cabinet,
49:54 it's what's in your life,
49:56 it's not... the Bible that's on your desk,
49:59 does nothing for you,
50:01 the Bible that's in your life
50:03 can do everything for you.
50:05 David said, "Thy word have I hid... " where?
50:08 "in my heart that I might not sin against thee"
50:10 Acts chapter 17 verse 11, look what they did...
50:13 "These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica... "
50:17 see, the Thessalonians received it but
50:19 now look... somebody took another step,
50:21 "These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica,
50:24 in that they received the word of God with... " what?
50:27 "with all readiness... " in other words,
50:29 when the Word was preached, they said,
50:31 "We're ready... preach... "
50:32 ready on Wednesday night for Bible Study,
50:35 we're ready on Sabbath afternoon for Bible... they were ready...
50:39 "they received it with all readiness... "
50:42 and then they did something else,
50:43 "and they searched the Scriptures... " monthly?
50:46 weekly? Friday night?
50:50 Sabbath morning just before Sabbath School...?
50:53 they searched it how often?
50:54 Daily... do you eat every day?
50:56 You ought to search the Word of God every day,
50:59 it is more powerful and more potent
51:01 than the food on your table.
51:03 "They did that to find out whether these things were so"
51:06 you see, when you study God's Word,
51:08 you begin to discover
51:11 that what you read might show you
51:15 that your life is out of harmony with what you read,
51:18 you'll never know if your life is in harmony with God's will
51:22 and God's Word unless you read this
51:24 and then examine you, it's like a manual, okay,
51:27 "Am I changing the oil every three months?"
51:30 No...
51:31 "Am I living in harmony?" "No... "
51:33 "Am I following the manual?" "No... "
51:35 until you study God's Word, you'll never understand
51:38 whether or not...
51:39 your life is in harmony with God's will.
51:42 Two young ladies approached me in Florida
51:45 when we were down there for the winder Camp Meeting
51:47 and they were so excited about the message and the music,
51:50 they said, "Pastor, what can we do
51:52 to live the kind of life that's acceptable to Jesus?"
51:55 And I said, "Here's what you need to do,
51:57 just stop listening to that kind of music
51:59 that you listen to for one week"
52:00 they looked at me like I was trying to tell them
52:03 to take their lives, they went...
52:06 you know how young ladies do...
52:09 I said, "Well, you asked my opinion... "
52:12 They said, "What should we do
52:14 to live the kind of life that the Lord wants us to live?"
52:16 I said, "Stop listening to that kind of...
52:18 just turn off your... just stop listening for one week
52:21 stop texting for one week and study God's Word instead... "
52:25 they looked at me and walked away.
52:27 You will never be what God intends for you to be
52:31 until you live by the principles that God intends
52:35 for us to live by.
52:36 Third point, step three...
52:39 "Get rid of the old stuff" Acts chapter 27 verse 18 and 19,
52:44 Acts chapter 27 verse 18 and 19,
52:47 listen to God's Word...
52:48 when Paul the Apostle was a prisoner on his way to Rome,
52:52 he gave instructions to the captain and to the mariners
52:55 and those on board and notice what he said
52:57 which applies in a very spiritual way to every one of us
53:01 he said, "And because we were exceedingly tempest-tossed... "
53:05 in other words, when your life is out of control,
53:07 the next day... what did they do?
53:09 They did... what? "They lightened the... "
53:11 they started throwing things out of the ship...
53:14 Because they knew that their lives depended on a ship
53:16 that could handle the storm,
53:18 all the stuff that's in your life,
53:20 in order for your life to be able to handle
53:22 the storms that come your way,
53:23 you got to throw some stuff out of your life,
53:25 but there are things that God doesn't always do for you,
53:28 you got to do yourself... look at the next verse...
53:32 "On the third day we threw the ship's tackle overboard
53:35 with... " what? "Our own hands. "
53:38 God will reveal it
53:40 but He is going to wait for you to get rid of it,
53:44 when I... when I was a Disc jockey,
53:45 I had about 400 albums, I gave my life to the Lord
53:49 but He said, "Now, John, the next thing is
53:51 you got to get rid of those albums... "
53:53 I want to tell you, my heart was so connected to those albums
53:56 there were many months I said,
53:57 "Okay, one more month Lord," okay, the next month...
53:59 and when I almost lost my life on a Sunday
54:01 on the way to a party,
54:03 I got back home and got the... I put a list together
54:05 wrote down all the... see, I was still not yet converted,
54:08 I put a whole list together of all the song titles
54:11 and I sold them... should have burned them...
54:14 I spread my sin around the bank
54:17 and I finally, by God's grace,
54:19 got rid of all of them and God has a sense of humor,
54:23 the very first Christian album I got
54:25 was from the Heritage Singers of which I became one years later.
54:28 God's got a way of giving you a glimpse
54:31 when your heart becomes pliable,
54:32 they threw the tackle overboard, you see,
54:34 the only way that we'll survive the storm
54:37 my brothers and sisters is if we throw things overboard,
54:40 look at 1st John 3:3, 1st John 3:3...
54:44 the Bible says, "And every one who has this hope
54:47 in himself does... " what?
54:48 "purifies himself just as he is pure... "
54:53 that's why when God led the children of Israel
54:57 out of Egypt... very powerful story...
54:59 it's in the outline, it's in detail...
55:01 you'll follow it and you'll learn some very powerful things
55:03 but let me just share one point tonight,
55:04 when God led the children of Israel out of Egypt,
55:07 He changed everything about the way they lived
55:10 when they were in Egypt,
55:12 first thing He did was, He changed their diet,
55:14 what did He change?
55:16 He changed their diet,
55:17 then He restored the day of worship,
55:20 then he restored the commandments
55:22 He tested them on the Sabbath before they got to Sinai,
55:25 where He wrote the Commandments on tables of stone,
55:28 and then later when they began their rebellion,
55:31 He tested them by changing the way they dressed,
55:33 look at Exodus 35 and verse 22,
55:38 and everybody that was willing that made the adjustments
55:42 as God revealed the truth to them,
55:44 they made it into Canaan
55:45 but those that refused, died in the wilderness.
55:49 You'll find the detail in the Lesson Outline,
55:52 look at Exodus 35 verse 22, when the call was made
55:55 "Come, stand before the Lord and give your life to Him... "
55:58 notice what they did, "They came... " the Bible says,
56:01 let's read this together, "both... " what?
56:03 "men and women, as many as had a... "
56:06 what kind of heart?
56:08 "willing heart... " and what did they do?
56:10 "they brought earrings" by the way, men and women...
56:13 just like today... they brought... what?
56:15 "Earrings... " and what else?
56:18 "nose rings, rings and necklaces,
56:20 all jewelry of gold, that is...
56:23 every man who made an offering of gold to the Lord. "
56:27 The Lord said, "Hey, we're on our way to heaven
56:29 where the streets are made of gold... "
56:31 amen...
56:33 "and the gates are made of pearl
56:35 and the foundations are made of 12 precious stones... "
56:38 He said, "You ain't going to go to heaven
56:40 chiseling the gates... " come on somebody...
56:42 so we've got to make a decision
56:45 to either walk on it or wear it
56:47 and the reason why they wore it...
56:49 the reason why the Egyptians wore it...
56:51 is because they connected their ornaments
56:54 to god's that had continued to exist
56:57 in the land of Egypt long after they died
57:00 so they wore this as some kind of protection from evil spirits,
57:04 tonight, friends, our protection is in Jesus,
57:07 what do you say? Audience: "Amen. "
57:08 When Jesus comes in,
57:10 He'll replace the old birth with the new birth,
57:12 the old life with the new life,
57:14 the dead thoughts with the living thoughts
57:16 and He'll change us from our journey out of Egypt
57:19 on the way to the New Jerusalem.
57:22 Anybody want that tonight, can you say "Amen?"
57:24 Audience: "Amen... "
57:25 The Lord is here tonight to give you that opportunity
57:27 let us pray together.
57:28 "Our Heavenly Father, our Heavenly Father...
57:33 Lord Jesus... tonight our hearts are at a crossroad
57:39 you're saying to us, 'I place before you
57:43 two roads... life and blessings...
57:45 death and cursings... and I called you to choose life,
57:49 I call heaven and earth today as a witness against you'
57:53 Lord, Jesus tonight as the Spirit speaks to our hearts,
57:57 as the Spirit says to us, 'tonight is a night of decision'
58:00 tonight is the night that the Father in heaven
58:04 calls us to make eternal choices
58:07 Lord Jesus, tonight, I pray that your Holy Spirit
58:12 will speak to the hearts of your children and say to them,
58:17 'before you lies the Promised Land,
58:19 behind you... the land of bondage,
58:22 before you opportunities and blessing
58:24 and I'm the God that will supply all of your needs,
58:28 I will give you a new heart, I will give you new spirit
58:31 and in your life, I will do a new thing,
58:35 I'm only asking for your heart to be willing'
58:38 I pray that Lord, your Spirit...
58:41 each of these meetings would have spoken and planted seeds
58:44 in the lives of those who have come
58:45 tonight I want to make a decision
58:47 to give my life to you, I want to invite you in,
58:52 to give you a new opportunity...
58:55 I want you to take away my wineskins
58:57 that are filled with sediment of my past... "
