00:10 I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send,
00:14 and who will go for us? 00:16 And I said, Here am I; send me. 00:34 Three Angels Broadcasting Network and the South England 00:37 Conference present 00:43 Well good evening once again. 00:45 Here in Croydon we are partnering with Three Angels 00:50 Network Broadcasting Company to present the word of God 00:55 here in the city of London. 00:58 And not only Croydon, but we have a number of venues of our 01:03 own churches around this area of London that are presenting 01:09 messages even as we speak tonight. 01:12 It's good to know that the church of God is working 01:16 together for one purpose, and that is to win 01:20 souls for Jesus Christ. 01:22 And so tonight we are really grateful that at Croydon Church 01:26 we can just be part of something really big here in 01:31 the South England Conference. 01:33 We're happy to have the 3ABN team with us, and we're happy 01:37 that we have with us as our guest speaker, Pastor Lomacang, 01:43 one who is renowned for his word that comes 01:48 from God, his singing. 01:50 But you will know that as he presents the message 01:53 to us night after night, that he is truly someone who loves God, 01:57 and desires to be used by Him for His service. 02:01 And so as we prepare ourselves for tonight's message, 02:05 and as we allow the Spirit of God to truly move upon our 02:10 hearts, that we may be receptive to the word that God 02:14 would want us to hear. 02:16 Let us pray for our speaker, that God will use him, 02:20 and that God's will will be done here in Croydon church. 02:24 Before he comes we're happy to have our pianist, 02:28 also from 3ABN, Tim Parton as well, he's gifted in music, 02:35 loves music, passionate about ministering 02:40 through the gift of piano. 02:41 We welcome you here today as well, and may God use you now 02:45 as you bless us, and prepare the tone for Pastor Lomacang. 02:49 Thank you. 03:03 I would love to tell you what I think of Jesus, 03:11 Since I've found in Him a friend so kind and true; 03:19 I would tell you how He changed my life completely. 03:26 He did something that no other friend could do. 03:35 All my life was full of sin when Jesus found me, 03:43 And my heart was full of misery and woe; 03:50 Jesus came and placed His loving arms around me, 03:57 And He led me in the way that I should go. 04:09 No one ever cared for me like Jesus, 04:21 There's no other friend so kind as He; 04:33 No one else can take the sin and darkness from me, 04:47 O how much He cared for me. 04:57 No one ever cared for me like Jesus, 05:05 There's no other friend so kind as He. 05:14 No one else can take the sin and darkness from me, 05:27 O how much He cared for me. 05:39 Oh yes, He cares, I know He cares; 05:48 His heart is touched with our grief. 05:57 When the days are weary, the long night dreary, 06:09 I know my Jesus cares. 06:56 Sing that verse with me. 06:59 No one ever cared for me like Jesus, 07:10 There's no other friend so kind as He; 07:21 No one else can take the sin and darkness from me, 07:32 O how much He cared for me. 07:48 O how much He cared for me. 08:14 Wasn't that wonderful? Amen. 08:16 Thank you Tim. Thank you so much. 08:17 It's so good to be here tonight on this opening evening of a 08:21 fourteen night series that really is all about Jesus. 08:26 Can you say Amen? Amen! 08:28 You know, when we get together and we talk about topics that 08:31 may interest us, if Jesus is not the center focus 08:35 it's just good information. 08:38 And so tonight we want to thank the Lord that He's opened this 08:43 door to be here in London, to connect the United States 08:47 with the United Kingdom. 08:49 And the United States and the United Kingdom is connected 08:53 to the eternal kingdom. What do you say? 08:55 Well welcome to our guests, as well as our friends. 08:58 And we want to take the time and use it as wisely as we can. 09:02 So bow your heads with me as I open the word of God tonight. 09:06 Loving Father in Heaven, this is Your opportunity. 09:11 Take it, Father, that You may be glorified. 09:14 In Jesus' name I pray, Amen. 09:17 Tonight the message is entitled, Jesus, the Way Out. 09:21 What's the title? Jesus, the Way Out. 09:25 I could conclude easily that there are people living in this 09:30 community, living in this country, living in countries 09:34 all around the world, on every continent, in every condition 09:37 that day by day wants to find a way out of something, 09:42 whether it is a difficult situation, 09:45 whether it is declining health, whether it is a failing 09:49 relationship, or lack of financial freedom. 09:52 Every day somebody wants to find a way out of something; 09:55 a way out of prison, a way out of a difficult situation. 10:00 There is a text tonight I'd like to use that is the springboard 10:03 that shows us that there is a way out: Matthew 1:21. 10:09 I'll read in your hearing Matthew 1:21. 10:14 To me it's one of the most profound Scriptures in the 10:16 Bible because it talks about the introduction of the way out. 10:20 When Jesus came into the world the Bible says: 10:29 What is His name tonight? 10:36 Tonight come with me to the laboratory where the most 10:41 dangerous chemical agents known to humanity are devised. 10:45 In a scientific article titled, The Ten Most Dangerous Chemicals 10:50 In the World, this top ten list of substances known as killer 10:55 drugs were given the title, The All Star Team Of Death. 11:01 It was a fascinating article. 11:03 As I read through that I was amazed that these substances 11:07 are readily available on a day by day basis to people on a 11:10 common level of life. 11:12 The scientist that compiled this study said, We've got historical 11:17 poisons that have claimed the lives of millions 11:21 in a sinister manner. 11:24 But even more frightening than that, even more frightening than 11:28 the compilation of this list, is the inescapable fact that 11:32 these, and I quote, are chemicals that 11:35 might be in your home, might be in your closets, 11:40 chemical compounds that you will come in contact with 11:44 during your lifetime; killer compounds on the top ten list 11:49 of The All Star Team Of Death. 11:52 Let's go ahead and begin with number ten. 11:54 I'm not going to go through all ten. 11:55 I'm going to cover about six of them just to wet your appetite, 11:58 to let you know that we are living in a 12:00 world that is dangerous. 12:02 Do you agree with that? Yes. 12:04 Maybe I'll ask another question. 12:07 We live in a dangerous world. 12:10 On the top ten list is one called digoxin. 12:14 Say that with me, di-digoxin. 12:17 A purified extract, the article writers say, 12:21 of the foxglove plant. 12:24 They also say in proper quantities, digoxin increases 12:29 the efficiency of the heart. 12:30 Not a bad thing at all. 12:32 If you have a bad heart you you need digoxin. 12:34 It also helps make the heart beat stronger. 12:38 If your heart is weak you need digoxin to 12:41 strengthen your heart. 12:43 It gives you a more regular heart rhythm. 12:46 Digoxin is also used to treat atrial fibrillation. 12:52 If your heart is out of rhythm you get a dose of digoxin, 12:56 and your heart can be kicked back in rhythm. 12:58 However, you may remember that I introduced this as 13:01 The Top Ten Most Amazing Poisons In the World. 13:06 You may not have heard of digoxin, but you most likely 13:09 heard of a man that's been described as the angel of death. 13:13 Charles Cullen, a nurse that used pharmaceutical grade 13:18 digoxin to kill over forty of his patients. 13:21 This heart healing compound, when altered, 13:25 can take your life. 13:26 It can heal, but when altered and used for the wrong purposes, 13:32 it can take your life. 13:34 9. On the list: hydrogen peroxide. 13:38 Have you heard about that before? 13:39 If you have say Amen. Amen! 13:41 Most of you have that in your closets at home. 13:42 Hydrogen peroxide is practically water, 13:45 with just one more oxygen atom. 13:48 Water is H20, hydrogen peroxide is H202, 13:55 or just 6% of pure oxygen. 13:58 And most of us have used hydrogen peroxide in our lives, 14:02 have we not? to maybe pour on a scar, or a sore, or maybe use to 14:07 clean our counters, or maybe as a household disinfectant. 14:11 Theoretically you can drink it and not be harmed by it. 14:14 But try to convince the families of the fifty-two victims killed 14:19 in 2005, when a rogue forest detonated a 70% pure hydrogen 14:25 bomb in the London subways killing fifty-two people. 14:29 Or try to convince the survivors of more than 80,000 families 14:33 that died in 1945 when a hydrogen bomb was released 14:37 on Nagasaki, Japan. 14:38 Try to convince them that hydrogen peroxide 14:42 is not a deadly poison. 14:44 When altered that which becomes good for you 14:49 can become extremely deadly. 14:51 8. On the list, ethylene glycol. 14:56 Now those of you that have cars, 14:58 you know this as antifreeze. 15:00 Fairly harmless. Used to keep your vehicle in good, 15:05 cool running condition. 15:07 Yet because of its sweet taste, the scientists say, it has been 15:12 linked to the death of numerous animals, that after lapping it 15:15 up they died within seventy-two hours. 15:18 Ethanol glycolene, something used for the 15:22 radiators of your car, when altered and used for the wrong 15:25 purpose, it can take your life. 15:27 Going down to 7. on the list. 15:29 You've heard about this one. 15:30 It's called nicotine. 15:31 What is it called? nicotine. 15:33 Now this is not a health talk. 15:34 It's called nicotine, a 3% oily compound found 15:40 in every cigarette, but if altered and taken in a liquid 15:45 form, can cause your death within hours. 15:48 When altered that which was harmless in smaller dosages, 15:54 can take your life in a matter of minutes. 15:58 Number six on the list is sodium cyanide. 16:03 They say that this a routine industrial reactant. 16:08 But one false step in altering this results in 16:13 the smell of almonds. 16:14 And when you begin to smell almonds, 16:16 you'll be dead within seconds. 16:18 It's often used in gas chambers. 16:22 It was used by the Hitler army to take the lives of 16:25 millions: sodium cyanide. 16:30 The compilers of this list conclude that in spite of the 16:34 known dangers to human life, these all star chemicals 16:38 of death have not been banned from daily use. 16:42 Now I would say to you, I can guarantee to you that after 16:46 this brief explanation of their diabolical impact on human 16:50 survival, that from this night on you will never look at 16:54 these chemicals the same again. 16:55 Can you say Amen? Amen! 16:57 When you see antifreeze, or nicotine, or any of these 17:01 list's elements that I've mentioned, you will never think 17:03 of them on the same level again. 17:06 But allow me to take you to another level. 17:09 Allow me to take you a step further. 17:11 If after the meeting tonight I gave you these chemicals 17:14 to take home for free, I can almost guarantee you that you 17:18 wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. 17:20 Because you are now aware of its danger, and the impact on 17:24 your life if it's introduced into your home, and even more 17:27 than that, if it's ingested and introduced into your life. 17:31 But follow me carefully, there's one more deadly compound that 17:35 did not make this list, but its impact on 17:39 humanity has been recorded. 17:42 Every four seconds a child dies from this compound, twenty-one 17:50 thousand children a day, over one million children a year. 17:55 The scientists say that when it is inhaled it radically alters 18:00 emotions by unpredictable mood swings. 18:02 That is when it is inhaled. 18:04 When its fumes reach the impulse center of the brain any number 18:08 of unpredictable, and uncontrollable behavior follows. 18:12 For example, people make offensive remarks 18:15 that they later regret when this is inhaled. 18:18 Others demonstrate unnatural affection, 18:20 unseen even among animals. 18:24 When inhaled, people falsely accuse one another, 18:27 others become fierce. 18:30 Scientists have said people become despisers of those 18:34 that are good, when they simply inhale this deadly compound. 18:37 Its constant use, they say, has been linked to an ever 18:42 increasing murder rate. 18:43 Reporters say for no apparent reason when it is in constant 18:48 use, for no apparent reason, people just feel 18:51 like killing somebody. 18:53 They become brutal and fierce. 18:55 Laboratory data revealed that in living environments where this 19:00 is present, where this complex compound is present, 19:03 it produces distrust in the community, 19:06 instability in the marriage, and disrespect among siblings. 19:11 Parents have complained that when this is used, 19:14 and present in their home, their children become 19:18 disobedient, unthankful, and unholy. 19:21 Spouses report the experiences that they have had when this 19:26 compound was present in their home. 19:28 They say that their spouses become unloving, unforgiving, 19:33 and they have a headstrong disposition. 19:36 But the information continues. 19:39 The impact on businesses and relationships 19:42 have also been noted. 19:43 Follow me carefully. 19:44 People become covetous, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasure, 19:51 lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, 19:55 proud, and traitors. 19:57 The impact on places of worship has also been documented. 20:01 Follow me carefully. 20:02 Some are now lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 20:06 and they say wherever this compound is present and inhaled, 20:10 they have a form of Godliness, but deny the power thereof. 20:14 Now if you are wise at all, you know by now that I'm not talking 20:19 about a scientific compound. 20:21 I'm talking about sin. 20:22 Come on, say Amen somebody. Amen! 20:24 Our world has been infected by a compound called sin 20:30 that has been among human society for thousands of years, 20:36 and thus far nobody has found an antidote to get rid of this 20:40 compound called sin. 20:42 So far preachers have preached, and from the Garden of Eden 20:45 to the present every one that has risen up against this 20:47 compound has become a victim of it, because everybody that 20:51 has ever been born has died. 20:53 Researchers have decided to find out where this came from. 20:59 Inquiries have been made about the one responsible for this 21:02 deadly effect called sin. 21:04 Listen to what the Bible says tonight. 21:06 In the book Ezekiel 28:14, 15, notice what the Bible says. 21:12 It will appear on the screen. 21:32 God created a perfect angel. 21:35 What kind of angel did He create? 21:36 And I say that because some of us blame God when things go bad, 21:42 and we praise God when things go good. 21:44 But tonight allow me to set the record straight. 21:47 God never created sin. 21:49 Somebody ought to say Amen. 21:50 God never created anything that's deadly to humanity. 21:54 Each one of us, tonight we still have it, each one of us has the 21:59 freedom to choose our own destiny. 22:01 But why would anybody want to choose death? 22:04 It's beyond me. That's why tonight's topic is, 22:06 Jesus, The Way Out. 22:08 Why would anybody having two decisions to make: 22:11 life and eternal joy on one side, and death and eternal 22:16 destruction on the other. 22:17 Why would anybody want to choose the road to death 22:19 and destruction when you can have life, 22:21 and have it more abundantly? 22:23 But sin has made its mark on society. 22:27 You see, the Bible not only tells about this fallen angel, 22:30 this anointed cherub that once walked back and forth 22:33 in the presence of God, but the Bible also gives his name. 22:37 His identity has been revealed. 22:39 Isaiah 14:12, notice with me there what the Bible describes. 22:44 The Bible says: 22:55 When my wife and I travel, we've been now on about sixty 22:58 different countries, various places in these 23:00 different countries. 23:01 Every place we go we find people that are weak; 23:05 people that have attitudes and tempers; 23:08 people that are struggling with sin, and difficulty, 23:12 and hardship; people that are trying to find ways out of 23:15 their difficult lifestyles; people that have become 23:18 comfortable with their addictions. 23:19 Because the Bible says that when Satan fell his presence was the 23:24 introduction of the nations of the earth becoming weak. 23:28 And I must say, I would suggest no matter how successful London 23:31 is, no matter how financially strong it might be, 23:35 this also has been affected by this rogue angel. 23:38 Can you say Amen? Amen! 23:40 He weakened the nations. 23:42 You see, when Lucifer became dissatisfied with his position 23:46 he began a rebellion in a perfect environment. 23:49 And if a rebellion can begin in a perfect environment, 23:52 how susceptible are we in an imperfect environment? 23:55 If a war could begin where there was never a war before, 24:01 if a rebellion can rise in an environment completely free 24:05 from sin, how safe are we? 24:07 Notice what John says in the book of Revelation 12:7-9. 24:12 The Bible says: 24:15 Where? in heaven. Read that with me. 24:17 And there was war where? in heaven. 24:28 They did not win. Come on somebody, say Amen. 24:30 They fought against Michael, that is Christ, and His angels, 24:33 but they did not prevail. 24:41 What kind of dragon? great dragon. 24:44 And when you think of all the people that have died, 24:45 what a dragon he was. He... 25:00 Tonight, walking the streets of London, are evil angels. 25:04 Tonight breaking into homes, and marriages, are evil angels. 25:08 Tonight coming to your children through corrupt music 25:12 and entertainment are evil angels. 25:13 Come on somebody, follow me tonight. 25:15 Tonight somebody is going to be motivated by an evil angel to 25:19 take somebody else's life. 25:20 Tonight somebody's going to be motivated to lose their mind, 25:25 and snatch another human life into eternity. 25:28 Tonight this city is rampant with evil angels. 25:31 But I want to tell you they're in New York too. 25:37 They are in the Caribbean. 25:41 There are some evil angels in Trinidad, and in Jamaica. 25:49 They are also in Saint Lucia. 25:52 No matter how beautiful the Caribbean may be, 25:56 it is infested with evil angels. 25:58 Come on somebody tonight. 26:00 I would suggest to you that even tonight while we're sitting 26:03 here in this beautiful sanctuary, evil angels are 26:06 contending for the attention of our minds. 26:09 Some of us are sitting here as the words of God are going 26:12 forth our minds are distracted. 26:14 Why? Because evil angels want nothing more than to keep you 26:19 distracted from hearing what God wants you to hear. 26:21 A very real battle: parents, out of control children. 26:28 Why? Because evil angels have found a way into their minds. 26:31 Evil angels, let me go even a step further, have found a way 26:35 into our entertainment. 26:37 They're on our televisions. 26:39 They're in the music we listen to. 26:42 They may be even at work with us when we go to work 26:45 on Monday morning. 26:46 We might meet them in a traffic jam. 26:49 They might say something to us if we drive too fast. 26:52 They might wave at us in an unusual way 26:56 from another vehicle. 26:57 Evil angels are everywhere. 26:59 Their influences have been felt ever since Satan 27:02 fell to this earth. 27:03 And I want to say that because anything you see that's evil 27:06 in the world, God has nothing to do with it. 27:11 I'm always amazed when people say, God took my mother, 27:14 like God is some kind of assassin. 27:16 Or God needed another angel, so He took my child. 27:20 I'm going to make it clear tonight that God 27:23 does not kill and bless. 27:25 God is the giver of every good, and every perfect gift. 27:30 Can the church say Amen? Amen! 27:32 And so if you've come here tonight to try to figure out 27:34 what's wrong with the world, let me tell you 27:35 clearly, it is not God. 27:37 It's not His Son Jesus. 27:39 It's this rogue angel called Satan who came to this earth 27:42 with one, only one aim. 27:46 What he lost his estate his number one aim is for every one 27:49 of us to lose our estate. 27:51 Tonight God is offering a way out, but Satan is saying, 27:54 You don't need a way out. 27:55 He even says to some of us, You don't have to worry 27:57 about eternal life now; you've got time. 28:00 Let me tell you all the time you've got is tonight. 28:03 Yesterday is a cancelled check, tomorrow is a promissory note. 28:07 All the money you've got is when? tonight. 28:10 The world is in the condition that it is in because 28:15 this fallen angel, once named Lucifer, 28:18 he once meant son of the morning. 28:19 Now he's called Satan. 28:21 That's serpent of old, called a dragon. 28:24 I've never met anybody that named their son Lucifer. 28:29 Now don't go looking on Facebook either. 28:33 Because what it means, it still means son of the morning, 28:38 but what it became connected to after his fall was anything 28:43 but an angel of light. 28:45 When Satan was cast to the earth he looked for others to corrupt, 28:50 but he could not infect man unless man gave him permission. 28:54 Let's change the scene. 28:56 Another very important thing to understand is man 28:59 had to open the door. 29:01 We had to do what? 29:02 The Devil cannot just come into your life. 29:05 He can tempt you, but you've got to open the door 29:08 for him to come in. 29:09 He can't make you do anything, unlike this famous 29:12 comedian many years ago... 29:13 Some of you are old enough to know who I'm talking about. 29:15 Maybe you heard about him here in London. 29:17 A man by the name of Flip Wilson. 29:18 Years ago he would say, The Devil made me do it. 29:21 The Devil can't make you do anything. 29:22 You've got to yield. 29:24 You've got to open the door to let him come in. 29:27 When Satan was cast to the earth he looked for others to infect, 29:31 but he could not infect them without their permission. 29:34 Another very important thing to understand, as I transition... 29:37 I'm going to read a text in Romans 6:23 in just a moment 29:41 that will lay the foundation. 29:42 A very important thing to understand is that Adam and Eve 29:46 were not created inherently immortal. 29:49 When God created our father and our mother thousands of years 29:55 ago, Adam did not possess immortality. 29:58 Neither did Eve. If they possessed immortality 30:01 they could not have died. 30:02 Immortality would be a gift based on their willingness 30:08 to yield to God's instruction. 30:11 God did not give them immortality. 30:13 The only way that they were sustained, they were sustained 30:16 by their continued access to the tree of life 30:18 placed in the Garden of Eden. 30:20 That's why when man fell God barred the Garden of Eden. 30:23 He barred the tree of life. 30:25 But before God would give the gift of eternal life 30:28 He had to test them. 30:30 Look at Romans 6:23. 30:32 You know it by heart, but listen to it carefully. 30:35 The Bible says, together: 30:46 Only two choices, only two destinations, 30:49 only two directions. 30:50 In the Garden of Eden God would have given Adam and Eve eternal 30:53 life, but they had to endure the test. 30:55 And the reason is very clear. 30:57 When the world was created Satan was cast to the earth 31:00 in the midst of this creation. 31:02 He made his choice. 31:04 You see, if God... I've often thought about this. 31:07 Sometimes I wish God got rid of the Devil in the beginning. 31:11 Come on, anybody else? Yes. 31:12 Some times I wish that, you know, if I were God I would have 31:15 said, Let's just deal with this now. 31:18 And since I am God I can clear the memory of all the angels, 31:21 so they won't know. 31:22 God could have gotten rid of Satan in the very beginning, 31:25 but we would never have served God out of love, 31:28 we would serve God out of fear. 31:30 Because somewhere along the way the news would have gotten out. 31:33 God got rid of Satan. 31:35 You'd better stand in line or you might be next. 31:40 God does not want us to serve Him out of fear. 31:44 God wants us to serve Him out of what? out of love. 31:48 God cautioned Adam of sin and its consequences. 31:53 Go with me now to Genesis 2, if you have your Bibles. 31:55 If not it will appear on the screen. 31:58 God cautioned Adam of sin and its consequences 32:02 if he chose to disobey. 32:04 Genesis 2:16, 17. The Bible says: 32:11 Of how many trees? 32:28 There was no doubt. 32:29 God made it very abundantly clear that when you touch this 32:34 high voltage fence you're going to die. 32:36 You can take the sign off of the high voltage fence; 32:39 you're going to die anyhow. 32:40 God said to Adam, You're going to die. 32:43 And what I want to emphasize about this text, 32:46 God gave Adam access to everything. 32:49 You know, sometimes people meet those that follow the Lord, 32:52 and they say, Is there anything you can do? 32:53 I want to tell you, I can do a whole lot in Jesus. 32:56 Come on, say Amen tonight somebody. 32:59 There's a whole lot that you can do without feeling guilty, 33:02 without feeling that you have disobeyed, 33:04 or have gone in the wrong direction. 33:06 The Lord gave Adam and Eve access to every 33:10 tree of the garden. 33:11 How many trees? every tree but one. 33:14 If I said to you, You can have every car in that 33:17 dealership but one, would you be satisfied? Yes. 33:20 Somebody's listening tonight. 33:25 If I said you could have every house in the 33:28 neighborhood except one, would you be satisfied? Yes. 33:31 If I took you to the bank and said, You can have all 33:33 the money in the bank. 33:34 Just leave one pound for me. 33:36 Would you be satisfied? Yes. 33:37 But God did something more than that. 33:39 See when we think about dollars and cents it starts to click. 33:41 God did something more than that. 33:43 God said to Adam and Eve, You can have every 33:45 tree in the garden. 33:47 And the caveat was, if you just accept My conditions 33:51 to obedience, I'll increase the gifts. 33:55 I'll not only give you access to the tree of life, 33:57 but you'll also have eternal life. 33:58 I am looking forward to the day when nobody will ever die again. 34:02 What about you? Amen! 34:04 But Adam decided, in verse 17, But of the tree of the knowledge 34:10 of good and evil, you shall not eat of it: for in the day you 34:12 eat of it you shall what? surely die. 34:15 So Adam knew. God said clearly, when you eat of it 34:18 you're going to die. 34:19 You see, the fact of the matter is nobody chooses to go in the 34:23 wrong direction without knowing the consequences. 34:26 Everybody has an idea that something can go wrong, 34:30 but you know what the problem is? 34:31 People don't believe that they're going to be the ones 34:33 that are going to get caught. 34:36 Am I telling the truth? Amen. 34:38 People take drugs and they say, Well I won't be the one to die. 34:41 I can tell you stories, numerous stories of people that decided, 34:44 I'll just try it once. 34:47 And they are no longer with us. 34:48 I'll just try it once. 34:50 Friends have suggested... 34:52 I remember growing up in New York City, growing up, and I was 34:54 down in the south where I was sitting in the car, 34:56 and the windows were closed. 34:58 And three of the young men were trying to get me 35:00 to smoke marijuana. 35:01 And the windows were rolled up, and the car 35:03 was very, very smoky. 35:04 And they said, Just try it! 35:06 And I said, I'm not going to try it. 35:10 I refuse to inhale that thing. 35:15 I'm in a car filled with smoke. 35:17 I refused to put it to my mouth, but I was breathing 35:21 the very atmosphere. 35:23 Follow me carefully. 35:24 You don't have to partake of sin to be affected 35:28 by its very atmosphere. 35:29 It's all around us. 35:30 We're breathing it day by day. 35:32 It's hard to walk down the street sometimes, 35:35 or look at a television program, or walk past a store, 35:38 or be in the mall without hearing something that is 35:40 willingly leading you in the wrong direction. 35:44 But the fact of the matter is Satan couldn't go 35:46 after Adam and Eve. 35:47 He couldn't run after Adam and Eve and say, Hey, 35:49 let me make a suggestion. 35:50 Adam and Eve had to go where he was. 35:52 God limited this rogue angel to just one location, Genesis 3:1, 35:58 but notice what He did. 36:00 When Adam and Eve questioned God's word, the next thing they 36:03 did was to test God's word. 36:04 Eve decided to stray away, and put God's word to the test. 36:08 Notice how the Devil was waiting for this bewildered, 36:13 and questioning young woman. He said: 36:23 Can you imagine having a conversation with the Devil, 36:25 not even knowing that it was him? 36:27 The beautiful serpent, glistening in the sun, 36:30 he said to her: 36:35 Did God really say that you can't eat of every 36:38 tree of the garden? 36:40 Notice how he began to twist that. 36:41 God said they could, but he said, Did God say you couldn't? 36:44 He began to suggest that God wasn't really fair. 36:48 But the conversation continues, verse 2 and 3. 37:10 God didn't say you'll die if you touch it. 37:13 God said, Don't eat of it. 37:15 You see, you might touch a bottle of alcohol, 37:20 but don't drink it. 37:21 You might pick up a corrupt movie, but don't watch it. 37:26 You might buy a packet of cigarettes, but don't smoke it. 37:30 Let me reverse it, don't even buy it. 37:33 You may be exposed to the temptation, but as long as you 37:37 don't partake, you're still on safe ground. 37:41 But I want you to notice something; 37:44 how Satan introduced the first lie by reversing 37:47 what God had said. 37:52 What did he say? Repeat that with me. 37:58 Come on, was he a liar? Yes. 38:00 Is he a liar? Yes. Was he telling the truth? No. 38:03 Was he lying? Yes. Was he being honest? No. 38:09 Was he being slightly honest? 38:11 Was he being slightly? 38:14 There's no such thing as slight honesty. 38:17 There's no such thing as a white lie. 38:19 It's either the truth or it's a lie. 38:21 Come on, say Amen. 38:22 You can't be slightly honest. 38:24 You've got to be honest or not at all. 38:26 He decided to reverse what God had said. 38:31 And once he planted the first lie, he followed it 38:34 up with another lie. 38:35 Notice verse 5. Notice verse 5. 38:38 Then he began. He continues his attack. He said: 38:50 Was he telling the truth? 38:53 Now one thing he was right about was when you sin 38:56 your eyes will be opened. 38:58 There's some things I've seen I wish I'd never seen. 39:01 Come on, anybody else? 39:02 There's some things that we have seen with our eyes that 39:06 many, many decades can pass, and every now and then they 39:09 flash their evil cells in our minds, even while we're praying. 39:13 Am I telling the truth? 39:14 Sometimes we hear a Christian song, and all of a sudden we 39:17 find ourselves in the midst of a sermon humming something 39:20 we have never heard before played in church. 39:21 And we wonder, where did that come from? 39:23 And we tie it back to the days when we walked with the world. 39:26 There are things we've seen, and things we've heard 39:29 that we wish we'd never seen or heard before. 39:31 He said, Your eyes will be opened. 39:34 And look at verse 6. And look at verse 6. 39:36 And so they took the plunge. 39:38 Adam and Eve had an afternoon meal at our expense. 39:47 But let me pause by saying that everything that 39:49 looks good is not good. 39:56 I can't do this for too long. I'm on the clock. 40:00 Everything that looks good, brethren, ain't good. 40:06 She might look good, but she ain't your wife. 40:08 Leave her alone. Amen! 40:10 Amen lights. It was good for food. 40:14 My brother earlier just said, What did he call it? 40:17 The products of mass production. 40:21 And some of us fall into that category, 40:24 because it looks good for food. 40:25 It was pleasant to the eyes. 40:28 I wonder what it tastes like? she said. 40:34 If I ate of this would I be smarter than I was before? 40:43 You know, sometimes I think about the conditions here, 40:45 because Eve was deceived. 40:47 The Bible made it very, very clear. 40:48 She did not walk into this with her eyes wide open. 40:51 Satan cleverly deceived her. 40:54 We are told she was deceived. 40:56 But Adam was not deceived. 40:57 Adam was told by God that when you eat of it you will die. 41:01 But here's where the problem came in, his love for her 41:05 was greater than his love for God. 41:07 Anytime anybody takes the place of God, 41:10 you are on the same ground that Adam was on. 41:13 Your eyes will be opened, but you might see what God never 41:17 intended for you to see. 41:19 Eve was deceived, but Adam opened the door, as Paul says 41:24 in Romans 5:12. Notice this together. 41:27 We are learning tonight. 41:29 Notice this together. The Bible says: 41:32 How many men? How many men? 41:43 How many of us? 41:48 Now, let me quality this very carefully. 41:51 When a baby is born, a baby is born not as a sinner, 41:55 a baby is born with a sin nature. 41:57 If you don't believe it, miss their feeding time. 42:03 One doctor once said that the reason why God allows babies 42:06 to be born small is, he said, Can you imagine what will happen 42:09 if your baby was 150 pounds, and you missed his feeding time? 42:13 He will pin his mother against the wall. 42:15 I told you to feed me. 42:18 They are born young because they need to 42:21 be molded and guided. 42:22 They are uncouth in every particular because they have 42:26 received what Adam gave them. 42:28 Death spread to all because all have sinned. 42:32 They were born with the wrong nature. 42:34 They were born alienated from God. 42:37 Sometimes we see babies, and my wife and I don't have children. 42:40 We have sheep. We've had sheep all of our lives. 42:43 We've pastored churches all of our lives. 42:45 Do you get what I'm talking about? 42:46 We've got sheep; no children. 42:48 And sometimes I say, I wish I had kids until I see one act up, 42:51 and I say, Lord, I'm so glad I don't have a kid. 42:56 The nature in the child must be molded. 42:59 That's why Paul, when he says, When I became a man, 43:02 I put away childish things. 43:04 There's some grownup children still today. 43:07 They may be old chronologically, but they want to 43:10 have their own way. 43:11 They have the mentality of a child. 43:13 Because all have sinned. 43:16 They still think like their Daddy, Adam. 43:19 When Adam sinned, a mortal plague was released on humanity, 43:22 because death spread to all men. 43:25 And something happened that man never expected, 43:28 and God never intended. 43:30 Look at Genesis 3:7, 8. The Bible says: 43:40 Now they were naked before they sinned. 43:41 It was no problem. 43:43 When they fell into sin they lost a covering that 43:45 God had given to them. 43:47 Their nakedness was covered by the glory of God. 43:49 That's why ever since man sinned all of us need to wear clothes. 43:55 I don't know if you agree with me or not, but think about it. 44:12 What did they do? They what? 44:20 They hid themselves. 44:21 Is there any place that we can hide from God? 44:24 Anybody here know how to hide from God, let me know. 44:31 There's no place hidden from the sight of God. 44:33 David said, If I go to the uttermost parts of the 44:35 earth You are there, if I go to the depths of the sea, 44:36 if I go to the grave You are there. 44:37 There's no place that they can hide from God. 44:40 But the symptoms of sin is this: it causes us to hide 44:44 when we know that we have sinned. 44:46 When I don't see church members come to church, 44:49 I know something's wrong. 44:50 And I go visit them and they say, Well, you know, I hadn't 44:52 been going very well. 44:54 And sin always results in us trying to hide. 44:56 But the other thing it does, it causes us to do 45:00 as Adam and Eve did. 45:01 They sewed fig leaves together. 45:05 They looked for a substitute of what God already gave them. 45:09 You know what sin is? 45:12 Sin is a substitute of the real thing that belongs only to God. 45:18 I mean think about it. 45:19 One of the reasons why people are addicted is because they're 45:22 looking for satisfaction. 45:23 And no drug can satisfy. 45:26 No illicit life can satisfy. 45:27 Only Jesus can satisfy. 45:29 What do you say? We can only find satisfaction in Jesus. 45:32 I'm talking to Christians that I hope know that for a fact. 45:35 We can only find satisfaction in Jesus, not on our I-phones, 45:41 and Facebook, uh huh. 45:48 But our world has so messed with our minds, 45:50 our world has so grabbed the attention that belongs to God, 45:55 that sometimes we can hear the truth plainly communicated, 45:59 and think to ourselves, Is that so? 46:02 Do I really have joy in Jesus? 46:04 I want to say this again. 46:06 There's only one that's original. 46:08 His name is Jesus. 46:09 There is no real lasting joy outside of what 46:12 only God offers us. 46:13 They sewed fig leaves together. 46:16 And what did God do? 46:17 He pronounced judgment on their actions, 46:18 and they lost His blessings. 46:20 Let's go quickly to Genesis 3: 16. 46:23 Notice what God said to Eve. 46:36 That's why women today, every time a baby is born, 46:38 and you're in pain, that's the result of Eve's disobedience 46:42 to God's clearly articulated will. 46:45 He said there's some consequence. 46:48 There's always a consequence to walking away from God's 46:52 proscribed manner of living. 46:53 What did He say to Adam? 46:55 Genesis 3:19, He said: 47:08 A little more than a year ago, I believe it was, my wife and I 47:12 were in Dubai, a massive, opulent city filled with very 47:17 wealthy people, wealthy people. 47:20 The cars, the police cars are Lamborghini's and Ferrari's. 47:24 Wealthy people. Money is like water. 47:29 The only thing they want to do is build something bigger 47:33 than what they've already built. 47:34 Seven star hotels, rooms laden by gold, mirrors plated by gold, 47:41 seven stars; beautiful! 47:44 But what I found out about that society was very interesting. 47:46 They said that no matter how wealthy you are, when you die, 47:49 what they do is they take you, they wrap you in a shroud, 47:52 take you out to the desert, dig a hole, put you in it and say, 48:01 See ya! Wouldn't want to be ya! and walk away. 48:06 No pomp and circumstance, no major long train 48:10 like we do in America. 48:11 When somebody dies in the U.K. they have long trains, 48:15 and they talk about their wealth and all they did. 48:17 When you die in Dubai they wrap you up, take you to the desert, 48:21 and in a matter of windy days nobody even knows 48:23 where you were buried. 48:24 All the... From dust you are, to dust you shall return. 48:30 That's why I'm so thankful that God always gives us an answer 48:34 out from that which is inevitable. 48:37 But I want to point out clearly, Adam not only affected himself 48:41 and his standing with God, he impacted every child that would 48:44 ever be born on earth. 48:45 His DNA of sin would always produce the same results. 48:49 Notice Genesis 5:5. The Bible says: 48:57 Do you know anybody that lived 930 years in your family? 49:12 And when the Bible says, As in Adam all die, 49:15 notice very carefully, Adam lived to be 930, his descendents 49:20 912, Enos 905, Mahalaleel 895, Methuselah lived to be 969. 49:28 Noah lived to be 950, but it began to drop. 49:32 Shem lived to be 600 years old. 49:34 His descendents to 200, and Nahor to 148, 49:38 until David the psalmist says in Psalm 90:10, 49:53 Can somebody say Amen? 49:55 If you make it beyond seventy, you'd better pray 49:58 that you have some good life. 50:00 That's why the health messages every night are 50:02 going to be significant. 50:03 If you want abundant life, you've got to prepare yourself 50:05 to be alive beyond eighty. 50:15 Nobody knows whatever happened to so and so? 50:19 They're gone. They're in the cemetery somewhere. 50:24 Nobody knows where they are. 50:26 Their names are forgotten, taken from the rolls. 50:29 They become just a statistic popping in our minds 50:32 every now and then. 50:33 But as I wind up tonight there is one verse that I reserve for 50:37 this point in the message, Genesis 3:9. 50:39 Listen carefully. To me this is the apex verse of the title of 50:44 the message, Jesus, the Way Out. 50:50 When Adam and Eve sinned, the Bible says: 50:58 At the darkest moment in the life of Adam and Eve God could 51:02 have said, I know where they are, but I'm not going to get 51:04 involved in that at all. 51:06 But at the darkest moment in their lives the good news about 51:08 the love of God is He does not leave us where we are. 51:11 He comes looking for us. 51:12 Somebody say Amen. Amen! 51:14 You see, tonight you can find a way out because God does not 51:17 leave you in your transgression. 51:18 He does not leave you in your disappointment. 51:21 He does not leave you in your failure. 51:23 He does not leave us in our brokenness. 51:25 He came to Adam and said, Where are you? 51:27 He was not asking for a geographical location, 51:30 He was asking for the condition of Adam's heart. 51:32 Adam where are you? 51:34 And tonight God is concerned about the 51:36 condition of your life. 51:38 God is concerned about the pain you face, 51:40 the disappointment you have, the loss in your family. 51:43 God is concerned about the things you've done, 51:45 the transgression that haunts you, 51:47 the failures that you experience. God is concerned. 51:50 We begin this series by saying, In Jesus there is a way out, 51:54 no matter what you're in. 51:55 Somebody ought to say Amen. Amen! 51:57 That's why God sent His Son at the darkest hour to rescue 52:02 and show Adam and Eve the way out. 52:04 Oh the text of the night, John 3:16, 17. 52:10 I'm looking forward to tomorrow night, and the night after that. 52:13 We're going to build on this foundation. 52:14 We're just laying the foundation. 52:15 We're just laying the cement slab. 52:17 And the cement slab is solid, because its about Jesus. 52:21 He is the foundation that nobody else can lay but Himself. 52:25 John 3:16, the Bible says: 52:40 But I love verse 17. 52:42 Oh thank God for His love for us! 52:45 For God sent His Son to New York, and to London, 52:48 and to Chicago, and to Dubai. 52:50 God sent His Son into the drug houses, 52:52 into the places of ill repute. 52:54 God sent His Son to the broken families. 52:56 God sent His Son into the failed relationships. 52:59 God sent His Son into the broken marriages. 53:11 Anybody tonight need salvation in Jesus? 53:16 You received a card when you came in tonight. 53:18 Let me ask you a few questions very carefully. 53:20 Take that card out very quickly that you received 53:22 when you came tonight. 53:23 It's on the front pew. 53:25 Just pick it up very carefully. 53:26 Follow it very carefully. 53:27 I want you to fill this out because we have something 53:29 to give to you as a result of that. 53:31 But I want you to just give me some answers about 53:33 what this topic was tonight. 53:37 Tonight the topic was clear to me. 53:40 If that's the case just check yes, the topic was clear to me. 53:48 But 2. If you would like additional information 53:50 on this topic, just put a check mark next to 2. 53:54 Yes, I'd like to know more about it. 53:55 And by the way, tonight when you leave you'll receive a handout 53:58 on the topic that I just covered. 54:00 You will receive an outline to make it even clearer. 54:02 3. It is my intention to go to the right side, 54:07 my intention to accept Christ's invitation to follow Him. 54:11 You only have two choices: life and blessings, 54:14 death and cursings. 54:15 I pray that your choice is yes. 54:18 And finally, 4. I would like a visit to discuss my decision. 54:24 And if that's your desire, let me end by saying this: 54:26 Sin and Satan are on the team of death, but Jesus will always be 54:32 the champion of life. 54:33 Sin let us in, but Jesus will lead us out. What do you say? 54:38 You see, Jesus came down so that one day we can go up. 54:41 Jesus walked our road so that one day we can walk His road. 54:45 Hear me carefully. 54:46 He was arrested so that we can be set free. 54:48 He was declared guilty that one day we can be declared innocent. 54:52 He was condemned so that we can be pardoned. 54:55 He was treated as a criminal so that we can be 54:58 treated as royalty. 55:00 Somebody ought to say Amen tonight. Amen! 55:02 This not a common language. 55:03 This is not a common matter. 55:04 But we've heard it for so long that sometimes it bounces off 55:07 of us as though the good news has found a Teflon surface, 55:11 and can no longer penetrate our hearts. 55:13 He was stripped that we can be covered. 55:15 He wore our thorns that one day we could wear His crown. 55:19 Just think on that! 55:21 He suffered the shame of death so that one day we can share 55:24 the glory of His life. 55:25 I am so glad that Jesus came to show us the way out. 55:29 Friends, the good news is this: one day sin will be irradiated. 55:33 Can somebody say Amen? Amen! 55:35 Death one day will be terminated, 55:37 pain will be eliminated, sorrow will be terminated, 55:41 war will be assassinated, hate will be obliterated, 55:44 sinners will be extricated, life will be celebrated, 55:48 Satan will be annihilated, and Jesus will 55:51 forever be vindicated. 55:52 Tonight Jesus is the way out. 55:56 I've come to give you Jesus tonight. 55:59 But I want to pray for you this evening, because we're just 56:02 beginning the series. 56:04 We're just laying the foundation. 56:05 We want to leave here knowing tonight that as we leave this 56:08 place we know we have not left the presence of God. 56:13 If your desire is to find a way out, whatever you may be in. 56:16 If your desire tonight is to find a way out, I want you to 56:22 to bow your heads with me as we go before the only God who can 56:27 lead us out of the worst predicament that man has ever 56:30 been in, and that is the predicament of sin. 56:33 Let's bow our heads together. 56:34 Father in Heaven, we thank You for your Son Jesus Christ. 56:37 We thank You for the life that we find in Him, and Him alone. 56:41 We thank You for the joy and the freedom that He alone can give. 56:45 And in this great city, this great metropolis, 56:48 there is someone tonight that wants to find a way out. 56:50 But they don't know that there is even a way out available. 56:53 May we go forth with this good news, and shine as lights amid 56:57 this dark city, proclaiming freedom and liberty 57:00 found only in Jesus. 57:01 And finally one day we too, ourselves will experience 57:05 the joy of eternal life. 57:07 We thank You Lord Jesus tonight that You are, 57:10 and always will be the way out. 57:12 In Jesus' name we pray, Amen, and Amen. |
