00:34 And our opening song will be Stand up!
00:36 stand up for Jesus,
00:37 if we can all rise for our opening song.
00:49 Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
00:54 Ye soldiers of the cross
00:58 Lift high His royal banner
01:02 It must not suffer loss
01:06 From victory unto victory
01:10 His army shall He lead
01:14 Till every foe is vanquished
01:18 And Christ is Lord indeed
01:23 Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
01:27 Stand in His strength alone
01:31 The arm of flesh will fail you
01:34 Ye dare not trust your own
01:38 Put on the gospel armor
01:42 And, watching unto prayer
01:46 Where duty calls, or danger
01:50 Be never wanting there
01:55 Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
01:59 The strife will not be long
02:03 This day the noise of battle
02:07 The next the victor's song
02:11 To him that overcometh
02:15 A crown of life shall be
02:19 He with the King of glory
02:23 Shall reign eternally
02:30 You may all be seated.
02:37 Romans 8.
02:39 We're going to read verses 14-18.
02:46 And the Bible says,
02:48 "For as many as are lead by the Spirit of God,
02:50 they are the sons of God.
02:53 For ye have not received a spirit of bondage
02:55 again to fear,
02:57 but ye have received the spirit of adoption,
03:01 whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
03:05 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit,
03:09 that we are the children of God.
03:11 And if children, then heirs, heirs of God,
03:16 and joint-heirs with Christ,
03:19 if so be that we suffer with him,
03:21 that we may be also glorified together.
03:25 For I reckon that the sufferings
03:27 of this present time
03:28 are not worthy to be compared with the glory
03:31 which shall be revealed in us."
03:37 Please bow with me in prayer.
03:42 Holy Father, we ask You to be present with us
03:48 to send the Holy Spirit to be among us,
03:51 to give us wisdom, discernment and comfort.
03:57 Father, we give this New Year to you
03:59 and place it in Your hands and pray to You, God,
04:04 that our greatest gift and joy
04:06 will be the companionship of Jesus Christ Himself.
04:12 Please be with Randy Skeete this morning
04:14 and I pray to You, God,
04:16 that You will place Your words in his mouth.
04:19 Make us swift to hear and quick to discern.
04:25 And, Father, I pray that You will give us the grace
04:27 and the power to go forward from this place
04:31 as a new creation.
04:35 Thank You for adopting us into Your family.
04:38 Thank You for preparing a home for us.
04:41 And dear, Father,
04:42 I pray that when all has been heard
04:44 that we will be faithful,
04:46 waiting and ready to be home with you,
04:49 in Jesus' name I pray, amen.
04:54 When I survey
05:00 The wondrous cross
05:08 On which the Prince
05:15 Of glory died
05:22 My richest gain
05:29 I count but loss
05:36 And pour contempt
05:43 On all my pride
05:49 Forbid it, Lord,
05:55 That I should boast
06:00 Save in the death
06:06 Of Christ my God
06:12 All the vain things
06:17 That charm me most
06:23 I sacrifice them
06:29 To His blood
06:33 See from His head
06:39 His hands, His feet
06:44 Sorrow and love
06:49 Flow mingled down!
06:54 Did e'er such love
06:59 And sorrow meet
07:05 Or thorns compose
07:10 So rich a crown?
07:20 Were the whole realm
07:25 Of nature mine
07:29 That were a present far
07:35 Too small Love so amazing
07:43 So divine
07:48 Demands my soul
07:53 My life
07:54 My all
08:01 This love demands
08:04 My soul
08:10 My life, my all
08:37 I will bless the Lord at all times
08:39 His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
08:43 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord.
08:46 The humble shall hear their off and be glad.
08:50 Oh, praise the Lord with me
08:52 and let us exalt His name together.
08:55 God is good?
08:56 All the time. And all the time.
08:58 God is good.
09:00 Good morning, everyone.
09:01 Good morning.
09:03 How was your night?
09:05 God bless you. Nice to see you.
09:08 I did so much talking yesterday,
09:11 you can probably hear the effects in my voice
09:14 but it was all good I believe
09:15 talking to God's people is a privilege,
09:18 it's an honor, it's a blessing.
09:20 So remember to pray that the Lord will sustain me
09:22 through this brief presentation
09:24 why do I say brief
09:26 because I have to rush from the pulpit to a car
09:29 to the airport to catch my flight.
09:32 So I will hurry without being too rushed.
09:37 Let me pause and express my gratitude
09:40 to the GYC Sanhedrin for inviting me
09:45 to be a part of this blessed experience.
09:50 I really have been highly honored,
09:51 I mean that from my heart
09:53 and God knows I'm telling the truth.
09:55 I really thank you and I pray and I hope
09:58 that something I said smoothly or not so smoothly
10:04 was a blessing to you somehow.
10:06 Amen.
10:07 I thank you for loving God.
10:10 I thank you for loving God's word.
10:13 And I thank you for loving God's people.
10:15 I also am very grateful for the quality of music,
10:19 particularly the music that preceded my coming
10:21 to this desk.
10:23 Very few people know is that the special music
10:26 that precedes my sermons have a profound effect on me.
10:29 So I'm always nervous who is singing?
10:32 How will the person be dressed?
10:34 And how will the person behave?
10:36 Will the person sing as though he or she is worshipping?
10:40 Or as though he or she is performing?
10:42 So I'm grateful for those who sang prior to my coming
10:46 and for those who played.
10:47 May God bless you.
10:49 And may you always commit your talents to His glory
10:53 and to the blessing of your fellow man
10:55 and your fellow woman.
10:57 For those of you who have been with us
10:58 who are not Seventh-day Adventists,
11:00 thank you so much for blessing our presence,
11:03 for our gathering with your presence.
11:06 We are highly honored to have you
11:08 and we hope that you will continue to fellowship with us
11:11 wherever you find us in your town,
11:13 your city or your village.
11:16 I thank God for life.
11:18 I thank Him for the honor He gives me to speak for Him.
11:22 While I have this platform, let me say in God's defense,
11:27 God has never done me anything wrong, never.
11:31 All my blessings have come from God.
11:34 All my problems I have brought on myself.
11:38 Let me say it again.
11:39 All my blessings have come from God.
11:44 All my headaches, hardships and hernia
11:48 I have brought on myself.
11:50 Are you with me?
11:51 So God is innocent in my life.
11:54 And I wanted to make that public statement.
11:57 I love God.
12:00 Uh, that amen is lifeless.
12:01 I love God.
12:03 Amen. I love Jesus.
12:06 Amen. I love the Holy Ghost.
12:08 Amen. I love the angels.
12:11 Amen. And I love you.
12:13 Amen.
12:15 I love you I said.
12:16 Amen.
12:17 Don't make me change my mind.
12:20 Our subject for this morning,
12:22 Esau was a Seventh-day Adventist.
12:25 What did I say?
12:27 Esau was a Seventh-day Adventist.
12:29 For the final time.
12:32 What is this?
12:34 Mobile phone.
12:35 What is this? Bible.
12:36 What do I want you to do with this?
12:40 How many of you have been rebelling,
12:41 let me see your hand.
12:45 Sister, don't rebel against God's servant,
12:49 you will not get a husband.
12:50 Please cooperate.
12:53 Turn the phone off.
12:57 Now an announcement, not announcement,
12:59 a sign came up earlier, put your phones on silence.
13:02 No, no, no, no.
13:04 Turn them off until they're dead,
13:07 somebody say amen.
13:08 All right.
13:10 Favor number two, while I'm speaking pray for me
13:13 and say, Lord, put your words in that man's mouth.
13:17 I told you yesterday I'll repeat it today,
13:20 it is an urgent request
13:22 when Peter stood on the day of Pentecost Acts 2,
13:27 the Bible says and Peter standing up with the 11.
13:33 That's very meaningful to me.
13:36 There were 12 disciples.
13:38 Peter stood the Bible says with the 12.
13:42 Now it was only the voice of Peter that was heard.
13:45 But somehow those listening understood
13:49 that the other 11 men
13:50 were one with Peter in that sermon.
13:54 And so in verse 37 the Bible says,
13:56 "Now when they heard this,
13:58 they were pricked in their heart.
13:59 And said unto Peter
14:01 and to the rest of the apostles,
14:03 "Men and Brethren, what shall we do?"
14:06 So while Peter physically spoke,
14:09 the other 11 were one with him.
14:11 When I speak this morning, I want to stand with the 11.
14:16 Can you say amen? Amen.
14:17 And so I ask you as a favor,
14:20 ask God to put His words where?
14:25 In my mouth.
14:27 That's based on Jeremiah 1:9,
14:30 "Then the Lord put forth his hand and touch my mouth,
14:34 and the Lord said unto me
14:35 'Behold I have put my words in thy mouth.'"
14:39 It's also based on 2 Samuel 23:2.
14:43 "The Spirit of the Lord speak by me
14:45 and His word was in my tongue."
14:50 And favor number three.
14:51 What is that?
14:54 I want you to think.
14:56 I have often said, I'll say it now,
14:58 if people would think
15:02 we would not do the things we do.
15:05 If we would think
15:08 we would not drink the things we drink.
15:11 If we would think
15:14 we would not eat the things we eat.
15:17 If we would think
15:20 we would not date the people we date.
15:24 If we would think, we would not...
15:27 Let me change the pronouns,
15:29 if some people would think
15:33 they would not attend the churches they attend.
15:37 Think, it is a divine quality.
15:42 You serve a God who thinks.
15:43 Here is what He says to you, "Come now, let us do what?
15:47 Reason together."
15:50 Think, let's pray.
15:54 We read for those coming in to take their seats
15:56 before we pray so all is reverent.
16:00 While I ask all men to take your hats off.
16:08 Heads bowed, eyes closed.
16:14 Our Father in heaven,
16:16 in the name of Jesus Christ,
16:19 Father, when I say the name of Jesus Christ,
16:22 I mean, in the name of the one who is fully God.
16:26 The one who said let there be light.
16:29 The one who said in His earthly sojourn,
16:32 the prince of this world cometh and have nothing in me.
16:36 Father, when I say in the name of Jesus,
16:40 I mean in the name of the one
16:41 who stood outside the empty tomb and said,
16:44 "O death where is thy sting?
16:47 O grave where is thy victory?
16:50 In the name of Jesus dear God,
16:54 bless us with Your spirit
16:56 that He may enlighten our understanding.
17:00 Grant to me that God simple words,
17:05 I humble myself before You Father.
17:08 My desire is Your glory
17:11 and the blessing of Your people.
17:13 For the sake of Your glory use me there God please.
17:19 And for those listening by television,
17:22 even when they listen to this recorded version,
17:25 bless them dear God
17:27 with the revelation of saving truth.
17:30 Thank You dear God
17:32 for the high honor of speaking for You.
17:34 It is an honor angels would love,
17:37 but you have given it to a sinner such as I.
17:40 I thank You dear God,
17:42 I may always represent You all right
17:44 in and out of the sacred desk.
17:48 Now surround us with angels that excel in strength
17:52 as we worship You in spirit and in truth bless everyone,
17:59 bless every family represented.
18:01 Bless Your remnant people dear God.
18:04 Bless the leaders of this country.
18:06 Daniel 2:21.
18:08 "He changeth the times and the seasons:
18:11 He removeth kings, and setteth up kings."
18:16 Not only our leaders, bless the leaders of the world,
18:18 dear Father.
18:19 Let them make decisions that are advantages
18:22 to be advancement of the gospel.
18:25 I offer this prayer from my heart
18:27 along with the request that you bless the sick.
18:30 In Jesus' name and for His sake,
18:32 let God's people say amen and amen.
18:37 What's our subject?
18:39 Esau was a Seventh-day Adventist.
18:42 Genesis 25 reading from verse 29.
18:52 Genesis 25 reading from verse 29.
18:57 I'm reading from the King James Version of the Bible.
19:02 The Bible says, "And Jacob sod pottage.
19:06 And Esau came from the field and he was faint.
19:10 And Esau said to Jacob
19:13 'Feed me I pray thee with that same red pottage
19:16 for I am faint therefore was his name called Edom.'
19:21 And Jacob said,
19:23 'Sell me this day thy birthright.'"
19:27 Verse 32.
19:29 "And Esau said, 'Behold, I am at the point to die:
19:35 and what profit shall this birthright do to me.'"
19:41 Let's reread verse 32.
19:45 "And Esau said..."
19:46 Listen to Esau's words, listen microscopically.
19:51 "Behold, I am at the point to die."
19:55 That's physical.
19:57 That's temporal.
20:00 That's visible.
20:03 What profit shall this birthright,
20:06 that's eternal,
20:08 that's invisible, that's spiritual.
20:15 What is the profit of something eternal,
20:20 invisible and spiritual to me in a moment of physical need?
20:27 Esau was so consumed by meeting his physical needs,
20:34 his visible needs,
20:36 his temporal needs all of which are legitimate.
20:42 But they so dominated his thinking
20:44 that he lost sight of the value of that
20:48 which benefits us now and in the life to come.
20:54 What profit shall this birthright do to me?
21:00 Verse 33.
21:02 "And Jacob said, Swear to me this day,
21:05 and he sware unto him:
21:07 and he sold his birthright unto Jacob."
21:12 One of the saddest verses in the Bible, Genesis 25:34,
21:17 "Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentils
21:21 and he did eat, and drink,
21:24 and rose up, and went his way..."
21:27 Finish the verse for me...
21:29 "Thus Esau did what?
21:31 Despised his birthright."
21:34 Some translations accounted it of little value,
21:38 belittled, treated with contempt.
21:42 Esau despised the most precious gift.
21:48 A Hebrew boy.
21:50 A descendant of Abraham.
21:52 A male descendant could look forward to the birthright.
21:57 A double portion of the father's wealth.
22:00 Headship of the family.
22:03 The priest of the home.
22:06 All of these and perhaps other blessings
22:09 came with the birthright.
22:11 Jacob understood the value of the birthright,
22:15 Esau did not.
22:19 And so Esau despised his birthright.
22:23 I feel compelled to reread verse 32.
22:26 "And Esau said, 'Behold I am at the point to die.'"
22:33 That is called an extremity, an extreme situation.
22:37 There are other extreme situations
22:40 in which we find ourselves.
22:42 Behold I am 36 and I have no man.
22:49 What profit is thou shalt not commit adultery do to me?
22:57 Behold, I have five children.
23:03 Divorced.
23:06 My paycheck is small.
23:10 What profit shall bring you all the tithe do to me?
23:21 We value God's things in the light of our needs.
23:25 Let me say that differently.
23:26 We value God's blessings
23:29 when by looking through a secular lens
23:35 and we see no value.
23:42 Let me offer a possible example.
23:47 How many of you went on a 5K this morning?
23:52 5K, glad you survived.
23:56 I don't see the point for running 5K.
23:57 But go ahead, God bless you, or 10K.
24:02 How many of you were late
24:03 because of the 5K to this service.
24:05 Can I see your hands?
24:07 All right. Okay. Okay.
24:10 Which one did you value more highly?
24:12 Don't raise your hands.
24:16 The 5K or the Word Worship that can change your life?
24:25 You're in the final year of your PhD.
24:31 One exam to take
24:32 to move into your gathering of research materials,
24:36 that exam is placed on the Sabbath.
24:43 You are in Esau's predicament.
24:46 What profit will the Sabbath be to me
24:50 when I am staring down
24:52 the loss of thousands of dollars
24:54 invested in an education
24:56 which I regard as the security for my future life?
25:05 Do you see the profit in being a Seventh-day Adventist?
25:11 Do you see the profit in serving God?
25:16 Job 21 reading from verse 7.
25:20 Our subject, Esau was a Seventh-day Adventist.
25:25 What was our subject yesterday morning?
25:30 What?
25:32 The morning before that.
25:35 The morning before that.
25:37 What book did I say?
25:39 What chapter?
25:40 Reading for what verse?
25:41 Seven.
25:43 What verse?
25:44 Seven.
25:45 "Wherefore do the wicked live,
25:47 become old, yea, are mighty in power!
25:52 Their seed is established in their sight with them,
25:55 and their offspring before their eyes."
25:58 Their houses are safe from fear,
26:00 neither is the rod of God upon them.
26:04 Their bull gendereth, and faileth not,
26:08 their cow calveth, and casteth not her calf.
26:12 They send forth their little ones like a flock,
26:15 and their children dance.
26:17 They take the timbrel and harp,
26:20 and rejoice at the sound of the organ."
26:23 Verse 13.
26:24 "They spend their days in wealth,
26:27 and in a moment go down to the grave.
26:30 Therefore they say unto God, 'Depart from us,
26:34 for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways."'
26:38 Read verse 15 with me nice and loud
26:40 if you have the King James Version,
26:41 read with me.
26:43 "What is the Almighty that we should serve him?
26:47 And what profit, go one,
26:50 should we have if we pray unto him?"
26:56 There are Christians today, they go to church physically,
27:01 but they do not see the profit in serving God.
27:10 Anyone in that condition requires only the slight nudge
27:14 to fall over and to leave God.
27:20 A person of that description
27:22 can never survive the time of trouble.
27:25 My young friends, I ask you again,
27:29 do you see the profit in serving God?
27:33 Do you see the value of living a biblically upright life?
27:39 Or are you so dazzled by the world
27:42 that you are almost at the point of Esau to say,
27:46 what profit is Seventh-day Adventism to me?
27:52 And if it is of no profit to you,
27:54 you will engage in no evangelism.
28:02 We have a health message.
28:07 Somebody say amen.
28:09 Amen.
28:10 Listen to these words in Medical Ministry, page 49,
28:13 paragraph 2.
28:16 "They are divinely instituted laws or rules
28:20 which if followed will keep human beings
28:24 from disease and premature death."
28:30 That's two amens, three, four, five.
28:33 Listen again.
28:35 "They are divinely appointed rules.
28:39 What does she mean by divinely appointed?
28:41 What's the source?
28:42 God.
28:44 Can God go wrong?
28:46 No.
28:47 "They are divinely appointed rules
28:50 which if followed..."
28:52 What does if mean?
28:54 Condition.
28:56 "Will keep human beings
28:58 from disease and premature death."
29:02 We have a health message
29:04 that other people use for their benefit.
29:07 You see, when you do things God's way,
29:09 even if you're an atheist you're blessed.
29:14 I'm talking to myself.
29:17 You're sleeping how, with your eyes open.
29:19 Listen again.
29:20 "If an atheist returns the tithe,
29:23 he receives the tithe blessing.
29:24 Amen.
29:26 Because God is not a man that He should lie.
29:32 We have a health message.
29:35 We despise it.
29:39 The way Esau despised his birthright.
29:42 We have a message that would keep us out of hospitals.
29:48 Keep our money in our pockets.
29:52 Allow us to be fit to serve in foreign lands.
29:57 Because the healthier you are,
29:59 the more effective you can be for God.
30:03 God bless all sick people, don't misunderstand me.
30:06 There's a strength coach who says,
30:09 "Strong people are harder to kill than weak people
30:11 and are generally more useful."
30:16 Do you know how many billions of dollars are lost
30:18 because of sick days in this country?
30:23 I say again, in the hearing of heaven and earth,
30:26 we have a health message.
30:31 But when that message is brought, it is despised.
30:36 Get rid of those missionaries telling me
30:38 that there is not to eat this, and not to eat that,
30:41 and when to drink, and when to sleep,
30:42 and get rid of them,
30:44 they are disrupting our lifestyle.
30:49 Don't tell me to give up meat.
30:53 God is not so narrow-minded
30:56 as to care if I eat beef or pork or crocodiles,
30:59 He is not that narrow-minded.
31:03 Yes, He is.
31:05 God is very narrow-minded.
31:08 The soul that sinneth...
31:10 It shall die.
31:15 We have a complimentary source of wisdom.
31:22 The writings of whom?
31:25 Ellen White.
31:27 God in heaven knows I speak the truth
31:28 when I say how often I thank God
31:32 for the ministry of Ellen White.
31:34 Amen.
31:36 Let me say it again on my knees,
31:39 I say it in the hearing of a God who hates lies,
31:42 I thank God for what He did through that woman.
31:47 And the legacy of light,
31:50 the inheritance of truth that has come down to us.
31:53 We despise it.
31:59 Studies have shown that one of the factors
32:01 that contribute to spiritual growth
32:03 among Adventists is reading the writings of Ellen White.
32:09 Let me talk to the young people.
32:12 The older ones, it's harder to get through them
32:16 because we have more layers of sin you see.
32:18 You being young,
32:19 God has just a little work to scrape away the sin
32:21 but for us He needs a pneumatic drill.
32:27 Read the writings of Ellen White.
32:30 Cherish that wisdom.
32:34 You've got your eyes on the girlfriend,
32:36 read messages to young people, read letters to young lovers.
32:42 Read Adventist Home, you're thinking of having,
32:45 of getting married, read Adventist Home.
32:48 You want to bring a child into the world,
32:49 read Child Guidance.
32:54 Not Joyce Meyer,
32:59 and T.D. Jakes, and Benny Hinn,
33:05 and the others.
33:11 You smile and you smile beautifully
33:12 but do you understand the insult to God.
33:16 Here is a source of inspired wisdom.
33:22 And we despise it and seek carnal knowledge.
33:28 No wonder nobody knows who Adventists are.
33:31 As I was telling some people yesterday,
33:33 oh, the whole world knows who is ISIS?
33:36 Very few people know who Adventists are?
33:40 We have a complimentary.
33:42 Why do I say complimentary?
33:44 Because it supports, it helps us to understand it
33:47 in no way conflicts with biblical truth.
33:52 We despise it.
33:55 I was in a certain country on the face of the earth
33:59 preaching a few years ago.
34:01 A weekend revival, I stayed in the home of a minister
34:03 who invited me.
34:05 I won't identify the country for fear of reprisals.
34:10 He told me, the minister in his conference
34:16 a letter was circulated among preachers
34:18 which they had to sign,
34:20 "I will not quote the writings of Ellen White
34:23 from the pulpit."
34:28 He didn't sign it.
34:31 And God bless him.
34:34 The conference called him in.
34:37 Why haven't you signed this document?
34:39 He wanted to know why.
34:42 Because one of the conference officials
34:45 was a member of the local association of witches.
34:54 Listen to a Bible verse.
34:56 Don't go there, just listen.
35:00 Believe in the Lord your God, so shall you be established.
35:07 Who can finish that?
35:09 Believe what?
35:10 His prophets so shall ye prosper.
35:16 Now let's reread that microscopically,
35:19 it says, believe in the Lord your God,
35:23 so shall you be established.
35:24 It does not say believe in the prophets,
35:27 it says believe them
35:28 which means believe what they say,
35:29 but you believe in God.
35:31 Are you following me?
35:32 There's a difference, Ellen White is not a god.
35:34 You missed it, it's my fault.
35:38 Believe in the Lord your God,
35:42 so shall you be established.
35:44 Believe His prophets, so shall you prosper.
35:49 This church officially regards Ellen Gould White
35:54 as having exercise the biblical prophetic gift.
35:59 As verily as Isaiah or Jeremiah,
36:03 even though her writings
36:04 are not part of the biblical canon,
36:06 the source is the same.
36:08 Amen.
36:10 And when you neglect her light,
36:13 you develop a disregard for this.
36:17 And so I appeal to my handsome brothers,
36:20 my attractive young sisters, listen to me,
36:22 do yourself a favor, build on solid rock,
36:26 read the writings of the prophet.
36:30 Buy her books.
36:33 Every youth should have education.
36:36 Every youth should have messages to young people.
36:41 Every youth should have principles
36:44 of Christian education.
36:47 Every young person should familiarize himself
36:50 or herself with the Conflict of the Ages series.
36:53 What are the books
36:54 in the Conflict of the Ages series?
36:55 Book number one, this row?
36:57 Too slow, that row?
36:59 That row?
37:01 I want them in order. This row?
37:04 No, no. That row?
37:06 Let's start again, this is embarrassing,
37:08 the whole universe is watching.
37:09 The books of the Conflict of the Ages,
37:11 book number one in chronological order.
37:13 That row?
37:15 This row?
37:17 That row?
37:19 This row?
37:20 All together,
37:21 The Great Controversy, somebody say amen.
37:23 Amen.
37:24 You read those five books and you'll educate yourselves
37:29 in the essentials of what we call present truth.
37:36 But like Esau we despise our birthright.
37:43 We despise the health message.
37:46 We despise Ellen White.
37:49 We despise the Sabbath.
37:57 I'm glad you didn't say amen.
37:59 Listen to me.
38:00 We despise the Holy Ghost.
38:03 We despise the divinity of Christ.
38:09 I was in California several years ago,
38:10 one of my favorite places.
38:12 And I had just spoken and some man came to me,
38:15 can I speak to you Randy,
38:17 virtually cornered me in a room.
38:19 Trying to convince me the Holy Ghost
38:21 is not an intelligent personality.
38:26 And I was, when he left, I said, Lord,
38:28 why did I waste my time
38:32 listening to that man.
38:36 We despise the Trinity.
38:40 We despise the concept of the remnant.
38:46 We despise the concept of the teaching
38:49 of victory over sin.
38:51 We despise the true face ministry of Jesus Christ.
38:57 We despise the investigative judgment.
39:02 Esau despised his birthright.
39:08 And so in my estimation,
39:10 Esau, if he were alive today
39:12 would make a very excellent Seventh-day Adventist,
39:18 because that which God has given to us
39:22 for our benefit.
39:23 Now when I say we despise,
39:25 it is not an organizational despising,
39:27 it is not a vote taken a majority vote,
39:30 less despise, no, no,
39:31 it is just widespread in the church.
39:38 In 2 Corinthians 4:18.
39:41 Paul says while we look not at the things that are seen
39:46 but at the things which are not seen.
39:48 For the things which are seen are what?
39:51 Temporal.
39:53 But the things which are not seen are eternal.
39:56 Listen to me carefully.
39:58 While you pursue your degrees...
40:01 Oh, let me go to something else we despise.
40:03 We despise our educational system.
40:07 Well, let me not say educational system.
40:10 We despise our truth about education,
40:13 because the system is often not what it should be.
40:19 Education, page 13, paragraph 1,
40:21 the servant of the Lord writes,
40:24 "Our ideas of education take too narrow
40:28 and too low a range.
40:29 There is need of a broader scope,
40:32 a higher aim.
40:34 True education means more than the pursual
40:37 of a certain course of study."
40:39 It means more than a degree from Harvard.
40:43 "It means more than a preparation
40:45 for the life that now is.
40:47 It has to do with the whole being,
40:50 and with the whole period of existence possible to man."
40:55 That is now and eternity.
40:57 The Adventist idea of education
41:00 is a preparation for eternity.
41:04 Not to get a job at Walmart.
41:10 It is the harmonious development
41:12 of the physical, the mental, and the spiritual powers.
41:16 It prepares the student for the joy of service
41:19 in this life and for a higher joy
41:22 of why the service in the life to come.
41:24 Listen to the final statements microscopically,
41:28 it prepares the student for the joy.
41:31 Keep that word in mind of service in this world.
41:35 And for the higher joy of wider service now.
41:40 If you have joy and service,
41:43 then higher joy and wider service,
41:46 where should your emphasis be?
41:47 On higher joy and wider service?
41:50 All intelligent people say amen.
41:58 Most of us, we pursue an education to get a job.
42:08 This deafening silence confirms the accuracy
42:11 of what I just said.
42:13 Most young people Adventists
42:17 pursue an education
42:19 to get a job in this life.
42:24 Is there any sin in the job? No.
42:27 Who created work?
42:28 God.
42:30 Does work contribute to character?
42:32 Yes.
42:35 But listen to what they were doing
42:36 when the flood came,
42:38 likewise not a flood,
42:39 the destruction of Sodem also the flood,
42:41 likewise also Luke 17:28,
42:44 as it was in the days of Lot, they did eat,
42:48 they drank, they bought,
42:50 they sold, they planted, they built it.
43:00 Murder is not included.
43:01 I'm sure it happened.
43:04 Carjacking is not written.
43:06 Burglary is not mentioned.
43:10 Adultery not mentioned.
43:13 Corruption not mentioned.
43:17 Eat, God invented that.
43:20 Drink, God invented that.
43:22 Built, buy, sell, plant.
43:28 You know what that is?
43:30 Life as usual.
43:35 How can someone be lost for living life as usual?
43:43 Now let me tell you quickly.
43:45 Am I telling you don't go to school?
43:46 No, no, no.
43:49 Christ Object Lessons, page 316, paragraph 2,
43:52 "Every act is judged by the motive."
43:56 I love to ask young people what you're studying.
43:59 I'm studying astrophysics.
44:01 Why? Oh, I like math.
44:03 Good.
44:04 What are you studying?
44:06 Chemistry. Why?
44:07 I like studying the periodic table.
44:09 Okay.
44:12 What are you studying? History.
44:13 Why?
44:15 I love to study the flaws in human nature.
44:17 Okay.
44:18 What are you studying?
44:22 Anatomy. Why?
44:24 I love the architectural design of the human body.
44:28 Points of insertion, origin, actions and whatever else.
44:31 Okay.
44:32 But what I'm listening for is
44:34 I am studying this or that because I see clearly
44:39 how I can use it for the cause of God.
44:41 I never hear that.
44:48 Let me be extreme.
44:50 As I continue the close of Esau was a Seventh-day Adventist.
44:56 Listen to a verse you know very well.
44:58 Whether therefore ye eat...
45:01 Come on, or drink, come on or whatsoever you do...
45:06 Let's look at that how microscopically.
45:11 Whether therefore ye eat or drink...
45:13 When is the word whatsoever exclude?
45:16 Nothing.
45:20 That verse is not in Revelation.
45:24 It's not symbolic.
45:31 You know Ellen White councils us,
45:33 take the Bible how?
45:35 As it reads unless of course, it is obviously symbolic.
45:39 Now, let's speak 1 Corinthians 10:31
45:42 as it reads whether therefore ye eat,
45:44 or drink,
45:46 or whatsoever you do, do all.
45:52 Question for you.
45:54 When you chose Harvard,
45:56 were you thinking of the glory of God?
45:58 Don't answer me.
46:03 When you entered into that relationship
46:05 with that young man, young woman,
46:06 were you motivated by the glory of God?
46:10 Don't answer me.
46:13 The fundamental motivation
46:16 for the Christian is the glory of God.
46:22 There's a quotation from Ellen White that I just love.
46:24 It is the most powerful thing outside of the Bible.
46:29 When I talk about the only motivation is God's glory,
46:32 Desire of Ages, page 20, paragraph 2.
46:36 "There is nothing, save the selfish heart of man,
46:40 that lives unto itself.
46:43 No bird that cleaves the air,
46:45 no animal that moves upon the ground,
46:48 but ministers to some other life.
46:50 There is no leaf of the forest, or lowly blade of grass,
46:55 but has its ministry.
46:56 Every tree and shrub and leaf
46:59 pours forth that element of life
47:01 without which neither man nor animal could live,
47:05 and man and animal, in turn, minister to the life of tree
47:09 and shrub and leaf.
47:11 The flowers breathe fragrance
47:14 and unfold their beauty in blessing to the world.
47:17 The sun sheds its light to gladden a thousand worlds.
47:22 The ocean, itself the source
47:24 of all our springs and fountains,
47:27 receives the streams from every land,
47:30 but takes to give.
47:32 The mists ascending from its bosom
47:35 fall in showers to water the earth,
47:38 that it may bring forth and bud."
47:42 The Desire of Ages, page 20, paragraph 2.
47:48 "Everything God created
47:51 was created to serve something else.
47:57 Extend that to us,
47:59 let us make man how, in our image.
48:02 Therefore, you and I exist
48:04 for the overriding purpose of the glory of God
48:09 in everything we do."
48:16 Let's not despise
48:18 what God has given to us, my young people.
48:23 Let us not despise the church God raised up,
48:27 not Ellen White, nor James White.
48:32 God bless them.
48:34 And I love, I thank God
48:35 for the ministry of Ellen White I said and of the pioneers.
48:39 They did not raise up this church.
48:41 Abraham didn't call himself.
48:44 God called him.
48:45 Ellen White writes,
48:46 "God has called His church in this day,
48:48 as he called ancient Israel."
48:50 And so as He called Abraham,
48:52 He called this church in the 1800s,
48:55 God, Jesus Christ.
48:58 Don't despise a privilege
49:01 that God has given to no other people
49:03 on the face of the earth.
49:05 And that is to be the depositories
49:07 of present truth.
49:12 Don't despise the health message.
49:16 Follow it.
49:18 Don't despise the educational system.
49:22 Encourage it.
49:25 I'm not saying none of our youth
49:26 should go to those schools?
49:28 Yes, they go but they go
49:30 for the primary purpose of the glory of God.
49:35 And trust God to make of any deficits that may create
49:39 if any.
49:42 And so today,
49:45 I call upon you in the name of Jesus Christ.
49:50 Regard the Word of God
49:53 as your most precious possession.
49:58 Revelation 19:13.
50:00 "And he was clothed in a vesture dipped in blood:
50:03 and his name is called The Word of God."
50:06 To treasure the word is to treasure Christ.
50:11 It is the word
50:12 that's the foundation of our health system.
50:14 It is the word
50:16 that's the foundation of our educational system.
50:18 It is the word...
50:23 I heard a story of an Adventist minister
50:27 or a couple of ministers went to a Sunday preacher
50:31 to ask him how he managed to build his church
50:33 to those staggering proportions.
50:37 I'm told I wasn't present but I'm told.
50:41 The Sunday preacher reached into his shelf
50:44 and pulled out Evangelism,
50:49 and gave it to the Adventist preachers.
50:52 They should have dropped dead from embarrassment.
50:56 I have heard that's the man who went to a man
50:58 who ran a school to find out
51:00 how do you run your school so effectively.
51:03 He reached on to his shelf and pulled out what book?
51:06 Education.
51:10 We must stop going to the Philistines
51:12 to sharpen our axes.
51:15 Amen.
51:23 I've heard some preachers say,
51:26 "Why won't you invite these Sunday preachers
51:27 to your pulpit?"
51:30 Because the Bible says, "Come out of her my people."
51:34 Are you following me?
51:36 God said, "Come out."
51:40 Now, the Lord loves everybody.
51:42 Come on, say amen. Amen.
51:43 Does you want Benny Hinn saved? Yes.
51:46 Would you like to save the pope?
51:47 Yes.
51:48 Would you like to save
51:50 the prime minister of the Illuminati?
51:51 Yes.
51:55 Would I have them in my pulpit?
52:03 God bless T.D. Jakes.
52:06 But if his life depended on it, he would not enter this pulpit.
52:12 God bless Creflo Dollar.
52:14 But even if his life depended upon it,
52:16 he couldn't preach from my pulpit.
52:21 God bless all Adventist preachers
52:22 but there are some I know
52:23 that couldn't preach in my pulpit.
52:25 Amen.
52:29 Let me be nice.
52:33 You look so depressed.
52:36 How many of you love Jesus, raise your hands.
52:39 Do you mean that? Yes.
52:40 Stand up.
52:45 Now, when I ask you to make a commitment to Christ...
52:52 How many of you will say,
52:53 "Father, as I stand where I stand,
52:56 I recommit myself to my Savior Jesus Christ."
53:00 Raise your right hand.
53:02 Hands down.
53:04 How many of you will say,
53:05 "Father, I recommit myself to present truth
53:11 which no other church on the face of the earth has."
53:14 Can I see your right hand?
53:16 Hands down.
53:17 Young men, young women, how many of you will say,
53:19 "As I make my choices in life,
53:21 let me think first of the glory of God."
53:24 Can I see your hand?
53:27 God is delighted, hands down.
53:32 How many of you will say with me,
53:35 "As Paul lost his life.
53:38 Peter lost his life.
53:40 James lost his life.
53:43 John the Baptist lost his life for the truth.
53:47 I am willing to die for truth."
53:49 Can I see your right hand?
53:51 Keep your hand up as I pray.
53:53 Father in heaven,
53:55 in the name of Jesus Christ who said,
53:59 greater love hath no man than this,
54:01 that a man lay down his life for his friends.
54:05 He could say that
54:06 because He laid down his life for us.
54:09 Give us the spiritual decency, dear God,
54:13 to be willing to lay down our lives for our Lord.
54:18 But before we get to the point of laying down our lives,
54:21 let us live our lives to support
54:23 the educational system of this church.
54:25 Let us live our lives
54:27 to promote the health message of this church.
54:29 Let us live our lives
54:31 to popularize the writings of Ellen White.
54:36 Father in heaven, give us a love
54:39 for what you've given to us.
54:40 Let us stop despising our birthright.
54:45 In the name of Jesus dear God, in the name of Jesus,
54:50 ignite in us a love for the mission
54:54 He has given to this church
54:56 which is to prepare the world for the second coming of Christ
55:00 as verily as the Jews
55:02 were supposed to prepare the world
55:04 for the first coming and they did not.
55:07 Let us not repeat that mistake.
55:10 Father, bless everyone under the sound of my voice
55:13 but in a particular way
55:15 bless the young men and the young women, dear God.
55:18 Let them go forth from this place
55:20 as Bible based Seventh-day Adventists.
55:24 Amen.
55:25 With holy pride in what God has given them,
55:28 and then let the influence bring their friends to Jesus,
55:32 let not the opposite occur, dear God.
55:35 Bless all the parents
55:36 who sacrificed so much for these young people.
55:41 God bless all of us, I pray.
55:43 When you come into your kingdom,
55:45 loving God, save us without losing one.
55:51 Before that time comes, God, keep us faithful.
