00:19 God at this very moment
00:21 of the 16,000 some people groups in the world 00:24 may hear a beautiful choir in Swahili 00:27 or a fantastic quartet in Portuguese. 00:31 But He's not hearing praise 00:33 in 4,051 unreached people groups. 00:37 There is silence 00:39 and almost half of those are in the great country of India. 00:44 When I had the privilege of traveling through that country 00:46 and seen just the taste 00:48 of the 1,943 unreached people groups 00:52 each with their own culture, dialect or language, 00:55 my heart was moved. 00:57 The devotion to their religion, 00:59 to the many things that they are about the spirituality, 01:02 seen Jainism, Buddhism, Sikhism, and on it goes. 01:06 God has thousands and millions of Hindus waiting to hear 01:11 and to know Him, 01:13 but He has brought so many of them 01:15 right here to our country. 01:17 When I was in Houston recently, 01:19 as soon as I came to the car rental, 01:21 the lady there who was an Indian, 01:23 I asked her, "Where can I find some good Indian food?" 01:26 And she directed me to a place 01:28 that had so many Indian restaurants I couldn't count. 01:32 As I sat down to eat 01:33 my favorite Indian food, masala dosa 01:36 with my fingers, 01:37 I looked around and I was listening to Hindi, 01:40 and Punjabi, and Urdu, and I don't know what all. 01:44 But as I researched it, 01:45 I found out right there just in Houston, Texas 01:48 were 22,000 Hindis, 01:51 15,000 Tamils, 01:53 11,000 Gujarati, and 10,000 Punjabi. 01:57 Isn't it incredible 01:58 where God has brought right to our door step, 02:01 and the majority of those are Hindus or Sikhs? 02:05 No wonder he said to us in Evangelism, page 571, 02:08 a quote that God gave us through Ellen White, 02:11 "Wake up, wake up, my brethren and sisters, 02:15 and enter the fields in America that have never been reached. 02:19 In the cities of America, 02:21 here are people of almost every language. 02:24 They need the light 02:25 that God has given to His church." 02:29 In the little place up near Berrien Springs, Michigan, 02:32 I walked into a gas station. 02:34 I saw a man behind the desk with a turban, 02:37 I stopped and I asked him, 02:39 "Do you speak any other languages besides English?" 02:42 He laughed and held up his hand 02:44 and said, "Punjabi, Hindi, Tamil, Gujarati..." 02:47 I don't remember all the ones he said. 02:49 But so much knowledge, so much ability right there. 02:53 In a country, they have come from a country 02:54 with so much heartache and so much need 02:57 and we have the privilege. 02:58 I was able to give him a card, 03:00 mylanguagemylife.com 03:02 with Seventh-day Adventist materials in it. 03:05 Will you pray with me tonight 03:07 that God will use us to reach to them 03:09 that they might reach back to their own country? 03:12 Let's embrace this beautiful mission 03:15 that God has sent next door. 03:17 Invite you to kneel with me as far as possible to pray, 03:20 to ask the Lord to send His Spirit 03:22 to bless richly this weekend, 03:24 this Sabbath that He has planned. 03:31 Loving Father in heaven, 03:33 You sent Your Son on a mission, 03:36 a mission to bear the sins of every person whoever exists 03:40 and because of His love we have hope, 03:43 we have joy, we have eternal life. 03:46 But there are millions tonight, 03:48 in fact, around 3 billion unreached 03:50 who've not had a chance to know what we know. 03:53 Please, please, we plead with You, 03:55 raise us up 03:56 and raise up more labors for this mighty harvest. 04:00 Throw us out into the harvest that they might be reaped 04:03 and you could receive the glory 04:05 just as You've promised, 04:07 when all nations worship You and love You for eternity. 04:11 May that great choir, that great orchestra 04:13 be filled with every single language, 04:15 tribe and tongue. 04:17 We pray in Jesus' name, bless our Sabbath. 04:20 Amen. 04:25 My name is Claire Luz Diaz-Henderson 04:28 and I have the honor of leading 04:30 the youth convention again this year. 04:33 My two lovely assistants here 04:35 Shari Gonyea from Oklahoma Academy 04:38 where she's my colleague 04:39 and Rosie Tresenrider from Grants Pass 04:42 who's a special Ed's teacher have been my assistants. 04:46 It has taken a year of conference calls, 04:50 emails, phone calls 04:52 and strategizing and getting ready 04:55 the theme for this year which is "Watch and Pray". 05:00 And so we've invited all of our young people together 05:04 to sing the theme song for you 05:06 which is Watch and Pray. 05:08 Our leaders come from all over the globe 05:11 and they are here because they have a heart for children 05:16 and a love of Jesus. 05:18 Amen. 05:20 In the front, you'll see our kindergarten class 05:23 and they've been studying 05:24 some really neat things in the stars. 05:26 Then we have our primary class 05:28 with some special hats that you'll find out about. 05:32 And then our juniors have been really excited 05:36 about studying about the brain 05:37 and how we gain victory. 05:39 And behind them we have our early teen class 05:43 and the youth that are coming behind them 05:46 and the Youth for Jesus all the way in the back, 05:48 and we will try to make a joyful noise 05:51 in our day and a half of having a couple of practices. 06:15 Jesus came to earth to show the way 06:20 How to live for others every day 06:25 He said we must watch and always pray 06:30 Have you knelt before Him today? 06:35 Prayer is the key just try it and see It 06:40 Will unlock heaven's storehouse 06:45 Where there's blessings for all 06:48 Whenever we call 06:50 Just waiting to be poured out 06:55 He's calling you, He's calling me 07:01 Can you hear His voice so tenderly? 07:05 Don't delay to pray another day 07:10 Prayer will open heaven's gate 07:15 I'm praying for you, please pray for me 07:20 Together our prayers will bring victory 07:25 God's blessings will flow His Spirit He'll bestow 07:30 Just watch and pray each day 07:35 Just watch and pray each day 07:40 Just watch 07:43 And pray each day 07:52 Amen. 07:58 Our kindergarten leader comes from Shawnee, Texas, 08:02 her name is Joyce Thornton 08:03 and her assistant is Cindy Rene from Alvarado, Texas. 08:08 And, Joyce, tell us a little about 08:11 what you've been doing this week? 08:13 First I want to say thank you to the Lord for children, 08:16 and secondly, thank you families 08:18 for sharing them with us, 08:19 it's such a rich blessing. 08:21 This week we've been studying the Bible stories 08:23 that we can see in the starry constellations. 08:26 So you might want to ask your children about 08:29 what that picture really is a picture of. 08:31 We have many Bible stories in the sky. 08:34 They teach us of Jesus' love 08:36 and the song we've been learning is the Lord's prayer, 08:40 so they're gonna sing it for you now. 08:59 Our Father, who art in heaven 09:04 Hallowed be thy Name 09:09 Thy kingdom come Thy will be done 09:15 On earth as it is in heaven 09:22 Give us this day our daily bread 09:27 And forgive us our trespasses 09:32 As we forgive those who trespass against us 09:38 And lead us not into temptation 09:46 But deliver us from evil 09:51 For thine is the kingdom 09:56 And the power, and the glory 10:02 Forever and ever 10:07 Our Father, who art in heaven 10:13 Hallowed be thy Name 10:21 Amen. Amen. 10:32 This year our primary teacher comes, 10:34 Connie O'Peaker comes from Missouri 10:36 and her assistant is the Batista family 10:39 from North Virginia. 10:42 And we are a family friendly organization, right? 10:47 And so the whole family is here 10:49 helping in one department or another, 10:51 so move forward primaries. 10:54 Prayer force, let's move forward. 10:57 This is the primary prayer force 10:59 and we've been learning about the battle for our... 11:03 the battle between Christ and Satan 11:06 and how this is a battle for our brain. 11:08 We have been learning to guard, watch our senses, 11:12 we've been learning about 11:14 how the importance of our thoughts 11:16 and all the things that come through our senses 11:18 that affect our brain. 11:21 Yes, I'm very happy to have our assistants 11:24 Ariel and Mitchell Batista from West Virginia. 11:27 They've been leading out wherever 11:29 but mostly in crafts 11:30 and just their boys are also some of our youth assistants. 11:34 Each of our youth assistants 11:36 have been involved in telling a nature story, 11:38 bringing out watchfulness 11:40 and there are so many blessings for us that are involved. 11:43 And we have Andy Martinez over there on the end 11:46 who has been leading us in united prayer 11:49 and teaching us about prayer 11:51 and making it practical for the children. 11:54 We are told to watch and pray 11:56 and this is the key to victory 12:00 as we think about the battle for our brain. 12:03 And so it's been such a blessing to hear the children 12:07 participate in that prayer 12:09 and it was a little slow beginning but they're... 12:12 it could go for a long time. 12:14 They're really enjoying it. 12:15 And our theme song, battle for the brain, 12:18 we're going to sing for you next, 12:19 and as we were coming home 12:21 from our field trip this morning, 12:25 we sang it on the bus 12:27 and then the kids just kept singing it 12:28 all the way into their classroom. 12:30 And I just... 12:32 We pray that this will go with them 12:34 as they leave 12:35 and that they will make right choices 12:38 that they can be victors in this battle. 12:41 So we're going to sing for you now... 12:43 Is everybody up front? 12:45 Okay. 12:46 Let's smile and sing with our heart. 13:01 Christ is captain, soldiers are we 13:06 To be like Christ is our plea 13:11 Flesh and blood we wrestle not 13:16 Choose the narrow lane empty or not 13:20 Battle for the brain 13:25 Battle for the brain 13:29 We will win the fight when we watch and pray 13:34 In the battle for the brain 13:39 On God's word, we can rely 13:44 Stand for the truth is our cry 13:49 We will have sweet victories 13:54 When we surrender all our needs 13:59 Battle for the brain 14:03 Battle for the brain 14:07 We will win the fight when we watch and pray 14:12 In the battle for the brain 14:18 Won't you join us in that march? 14:22 Don't be in corner stand and watch 14:27 Battle for the brain 14:32 Battle for the brain 14:36 We can win the fight when we watch and pray 14:41 In the battle for the brain 14:49 Thank you primaries 14:50 and now our juniors will be presenting, 14:55 lead by Pastor Christian Martin 14:57 from Grants Pass, Oregon 15:00 and his assistant also is from Grants Pass, Oregon, 15:04 Kim Wagner, 15:06 and we're so glad that they came from far away 15:09 to enthusiastically lead our junior class. 15:18 Thank you Claire. 15:20 From the very beginning this week our theme has been... 15:24 Jesus with me. Jesus with me. 15:29 We've learnt to watch Jesus and pray to be like Him. 15:36 And during this week we've done all sorts of activities. 15:39 We've discovered that Jesus is not only someone 15:42 who wants to redeem us and save us for eternity 15:46 but He's a God who wants us to delight 15:49 and to enjoy life and have fun. 15:52 So we've done many fun activities, 15:54 team based activities. 15:57 Let me share with you some of the names 15:59 that they've come up with for their teams, 16:01 have been the Golden Lions, and the Blue Princess, 16:05 the Red Sea, and the Green Emerald. 16:09 Very creative. 16:10 And we've been inspired this week to live for Jesus, 16:14 to always carry Jesus with us wherever we go. 16:18 One of the promises that we learnt this week 16:20 that has been a very precious promise to all of us. 16:23 Has been one when Jesus said, 16:27 "I will never leave you nor forsake you, 16:30 do not be afraid, do not be discouraged." 16:35 Deuteronomy 31:8. 16:39 And as we take this promise to heart, 16:41 we discover that Jesus is always with us. 16:44 We have several, several, missionaries 16:46 come and share their firsthand experiences 16:50 in the mission field where they had... 16:52 When they had Jesus with them. 16:54 We were also inspired and challenged by some thought 16:58 provoking talks by Dr. Brunette, 17:01 and one of the most inspiring challenges 17:04 came from Elder Ted Wilson 17:07 who came to our division to share with the juniors. 17:10 You know, I have to share with you one activity we did, 17:13 that was probably the most favorite. 17:17 We challenged the teams 17:19 by groups to go out into the convention 17:23 up to the third floor and anywhere in the convention, 17:26 and find people, random people, 17:28 walking in the hallways, 17:30 and approach them, surround them, 17:33 it was called operation ring of fire. 17:35 Surround them and simply share a Bible promise, 17:39 then ask, "Is there anything we can pray for you?" 17:43 And then one of the juniors would offer prayer. 17:46 I would like to invite two of our juniors 17:48 Carissa and Michael if they could join me, 17:50 I want you to hear from them the experience they had. 17:54 Let's begin with you, Michael. 17:56 Michael, I understand that your team 17:58 went out into the convention 17:59 and you didn't just find one or two people to pray with. 18:02 How many people did you pray with? 18:03 We prayed with six. 18:05 Six people. Wow! 18:07 And did you pray with one of those six people? 18:11 I prayed with two. 18:12 With two? Excellent! 18:14 Now one of them had 18:16 a very, very, serious prayer request, didn't they? 18:20 Yeah, they had a friend 18:23 who have been falsely accused by her husband 18:26 and hadn't seen her son for two years 18:30 so she wants our prayers. 18:34 Well, so it was a very serious prayer request 18:36 and you prayed for that person, didn't you? 18:39 And after you prayed, how did that make you feel? 18:43 Like I had just delivered them... 18:44 help delivered a message. 18:46 Help delivered a message. A message to who? 18:49 God. A message to God. 18:51 Our juniors who are out there 18:53 doing the work that Christ commissioned us to do 18:56 and, Carissa, thank you, Michael. 18:57 And, Carissa, as you were out there praying with people, 19:00 you received certain responses. 19:02 How did one person in particular 19:04 respond to your prayers? 19:05 They hugged each of our team members 19:07 to how they appreciated it. 19:11 Awesome. 19:12 So they expressed 19:13 really, really, appreciation for what you did, didn't they? 19:16 Wow! 19:17 Our juniors are learning to be fearless 19:19 and to share Jesus wherever they go. 19:21 And I believe that by the end of ASI this year, 19:24 our juniors will be committed 19:26 to carry Jesus with them wherever they go. 19:30 Thank you. 19:31 Amen. 19:33 Thank you, juniors. 19:35 And now our early teens are going to come forward. 19:38 Their leader was Julia Arroyo. 19:41 She's a colleague of mine from Oklahoma Academy 19:44 and she enjoys young people. 19:46 So we were glad to have her and her assistant 19:49 is Jared Wesbrook from New Mexico. 19:55 I can't think of the title, it's a little town. 19:58 And we were very pleased to have this team 20:01 come forward 20:02 and present what they've been learning this ASI. 20:07 I have definitely been blessed to work with these young people 20:12 so far and we're gonna keep working tomorrow. 20:15 Our theme has been watch and pray 20:18 through the generations, 20:19 and we've been doing this 20:21 by studying different characters in the Bible 20:23 and what did they watch and pray for. 20:27 So I have a question for one here for Beatrice. 20:32 What character did you enjoy the most? 20:35 I enjoyed David the most because we got to learn 20:38 how he was able to communicate to Jesus with nature 20:43 and we also got to illustrate 20:45 some of the songs that he wrote. 20:47 We also learned about Adam and Eve 20:50 and we looked into Enoch 20:51 and we still have few more characters to talk about 20:54 before the end of our time together. 20:57 The other thing that we did together was we prayed, 21:00 and it's so important to have an attitude 21:04 and a lifestyle of prayer. 21:06 So we went through a couple different ways to pray 21:10 and to make it applicable in our life. 21:12 So, Jalene, which method did you enjoy the most? 21:17 My favorite kind of prayer was united prayer 21:19 and in united prayer we have four stages. 21:22 We start with praise, we have confession, 21:24 and after that we move into supplication, 21:27 and finally, we finish with thanksgiving. 21:29 And what I like about united prayer is that 21:31 everyone gets a chance to pray, 21:33 and it's a time where we can 21:35 really open our hearts out to God. 21:38 If any of you have ever tried united prayer, 21:40 you know what a huge blessing it is. 21:43 And the more you do it, 21:44 the more you want to be involved 21:46 with the united prayer. 21:48 Some other techniques that we used to pray 21:50 in different ways, we created this prayer chain. 21:54 Each link represents a different prayer 21:57 that the students had 21:58 and each color represented the different type of prayer 22:02 whether it was for supplication, 22:03 for thanksgiving, a prayer for somebody else. 22:06 So we were able to create this out of the prayers 22:09 that we have. 22:10 And it's been such a blessing to work with all of them 22:14 and I've really enjoyed it. 22:17 Thank you, Julia and Jared. 22:20 And our youth now are going to stand 22:23 and they're going to share what they've been learning, 22:26 their intrepid leader is Shaun Neblett 22:30 who has as much energy as they do. 22:32 And there's... 22:34 his assistant is Paul Diesinker 22:36 and his wife Natasha came with him. 22:39 So we've had a power house in the youth department 22:42 with an excellent guest speaker who shared his testimony 22:46 that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. 22:49 Tell us Shaun. 22:51 Oh, Claire, it's been beautiful. 22:52 So, we the youth department and we're kind of 22:55 some of us wearing blue shirts, some in maroon shirts, 22:59 and some in other shirts. 23:00 But we're all together, we're one spirit 23:02 and we have really enjoyed 23:05 sharing the theme of the entire youth convention 23:08 which of course is being watch and pray. 23:10 Now at this particular juncture 23:12 in the life of a young person at this age, 23:15 this is the time that's recognized 23:18 as being a time 23:20 when we're really searching for identity, 23:22 for meaning, and satisfaction, 23:24 and all those other things in life, 23:27 and what better place to search for that. 23:29 As Christians we know that our identity 23:31 comes from somewhere higher, 23:33 comes from understanding Christ. 23:35 So we've been studying through the Lord's prayer 23:37 and not like you'd normally 23:39 study through the Lord's prayer. 23:40 We discovered that when the disciples ask Jesus, 23:43 "Lord teach us to pray." 23:47 What Jesus gave the disciples was yes, 23:49 a model prayer but it was also, it was the gospel. 23:53 It was the whole gospel start to finish. 23:55 He was introducing His disciples to the God 23:57 that was His Father. 23:59 So we found through the Lord's prayer, 24:00 studied the Lord's prayer that God is love, 24:02 that He is good, that His kingdom is forever 24:04 and that we can participate in that kingdom 24:07 in a mighty and powerful way. 24:09 And, you know, as Jesus came to the end of His life, 24:12 He didn't just say, "Pray." 24:14 He said, "Watch and pray." 24:16 And we wanted to bring it down and make it very practical 24:19 for each one of us as young people up here 24:22 and, you know, not too long ago, 24:24 my wife and I had the amazing privilege 24:27 of meeting a pastor 24:29 who has over 50% of the Bible memorized. 24:35 Over 50% of the book 24:36 that I hold in my hand right here, 24:37 that you have in your laps memorized. 24:39 Such an inspiration, and so brought that memory 24:42 here to our youth, 24:45 and throughout our convention 24:48 we've been memorizing the first verses in John 17. 24:52 And focusing on the fact that 24:54 Bible memorization is merely a tool. 24:59 Jesus says, "Watch and pray." 25:02 But the word of God itself has... 25:05 It's not like our words. 25:06 The word of God itself is a word that is creative. 25:10 It is a word that is powerful. 25:12 Jesus spoke the words and worlds came into existence, 25:16 the stars came into existence. 25:18 We recognize that victory, 25:21 a clean heart and victory in our lives 25:24 comes through the creative power of Christ, 25:27 but watching and praying 25:28 and hiding His word in our heart 25:31 is a means to sustain that victory in our lives. 25:34 And so we've been hiding the word of God in our hearts 25:37 and there's nothing more important 25:38 that we could be doing 25:40 at this time in earth's history 25:41 than making ourselves familiar with the word 25:43 that we hold in our hands 25:44 that so many people have given their lives for. 25:49 Amen. So the future is bright. 25:51 We've learnt great things 25:52 and I look forward to going home 25:53 and putting the things into practice 25:55 and seeing how God... 25:57 What God does and how He works 25:58 in the individual lives of your young people after ASI. 26:17 Good voice. Thank you. 26:18 You want to record it. 26:28 I live here in this house, 26:29 which is right by the railway track, 26:31 it's a house that nobody wants because of the train, 26:34 but it's got one of the nicest views 26:35 as you can see back here. 26:48 I've been here in Georgia in Wildwood for 25 years, 26:52 and what motivates me is that there are souls everywhere, 26:55 young and old, 26:56 are longing for something better, 26:58 and I want to bring them out from darkness into light 27:02 to meet them in the kingdom of heaven. 27:10 Well, I'm looking forward to my 83rd birthday 27:12 in a couple of months 27:13 and what makes me passionate about... 27:16 I'm a health evangelist actually 27:17 and when I was in my 40s I got very, very, sick. 27:20 I was studying at a school at Loma Linda, I got very sick, 27:23 and I heard about the eight natural remedies, 27:25 and so I decided, 27:26 well, I should like to make that a part of my life. 27:31 You know, one of the most exciting activities 27:34 is to go door-to-door 27:35 and this is what people are afraid of. 27:38 They think because they're not a preacher, 27:39 they're not a teacher, 27:40 they're not a graduate from school and from college, 27:42 they can't do much for the Lord. 27:44 But the Lord will use you 27:46 no matter where you are in this world, 27:47 no matter how young, how old, 27:49 how educated, or uneducated you are, 27:52 the Lord can use you. 27:53 As you go and reach out to people, forget self, 27:56 put self aside and ask God to help you. 27:59 Take Him with you, He says, 28:00 "I will go with you wherever you are." 28:02 He says, "Fear thou not if I'm with you. 28:04 Be not afraid, for I'm your God, 28:06 I will help you. 28:07 Yeah, I will strengthen you 28:09 and I'll pull you with the right hand 28:10 of My righteousness." 28:11 So claiming that promise, I go out here, 28:15 everywhere around the world and I know you can do the same 28:19 because God is with you. 28:21 He's coming soon and soon he will say, 28:23 "Well done, good and faithful servant, 28:26 enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." 28:28 And this will be the experience that I want to be a part of, 28:31 and I want to meet you all around the world 28:33 when Jesus comes. 28:37 Happy Sabbath, ASI. 28:40 Happy Sabbath. 28:41 Well, we have had an amazing month. 28:45 It's been amazingly busy, amazingly exhausting, 28:50 and amazingly wonderful. 28:52 And so this is the 2016 Youth for Jesus report. 28:58 You know, it's been amazing 28:59 because everything we plan was turned upside down, 29:04 and so we were supposed to be in Phoenix, Arizona 29:08 and then we got moved to Beckley, West Virginia. 29:11 A week before we got there, they had a thousand year flood, 29:16 and from there we have experienced 29:19 all kinds of not disasters 29:23 but interesting experiences. 29:27 And so this year at Youth for Jesus, 29:29 we had not just evangelistic meetings, 29:33 but we did the pre-work 29:35 for Pathway to Health held in Beckley, 29:38 and I'm sure you heard a report about that. 29:40 And we did a two week evangelistic meetings 29:44 and so we were very busy, 29:47 our schedule changed like every three days 29:50 and it was fun, right? 29:53 Right. 29:54 Okay, yes. 29:57 They're supposed to say that. 29:58 Okay. 30:00 So this year 30:03 I want to introduce our assistant director, 30:07 this is Max Suekert. 30:09 And, Max, how was your experience? 30:13 It was good. 30:18 We're still tired but, Max, we had a... 30:22 Because we only did a two week evangelistic meeting, 30:25 we also had a very shortened Bible work, tell us about that? 30:30 Yes, it was, as well as being short in time 30:33 we only had about a month of pre-work 30:36 with the Bible work, 30:37 was also short 30:39 in the number of Bible workers we had. 30:40 We only had six Bible workers and, 30:43 but yet God still blessed even with just six people 30:47 and only a month of pre-work, 30:48 there were over 250 drop-off Bible studies 30:52 and 67 in-home Bible studies. 30:55 Amen? Amen. 30:57 Now I'd like to introduce our Bible work coordinator 30:59 Jericho Batista. 31:01 Good evening ASI, how are you? 31:04 It's definitely a pleasure to be here. 31:05 So yes, the Bible Worker Coordination Program 31:08 started in April. 31:10 I was called, that's when Lisa called me and said, 31:11 "Hey, I need a Bible worker." 31:13 So I said, "Okay, I'll be a Bible worker 31:15 and then she presumed to ask me to be the coordinator 31:18 so I said, "Okay, no problem. 31:19 I'll pray about it." 31:21 And the Lord definitely opened door 31:22 so I started coordinating 31:25 and making phone calls, interviewing Bible workers, 31:29 and just the whole process started in April 31:32 and we had our first Bible worker started 31:34 I'd say just before June 31:36 and we had four churches to work with. 31:40 We had the Summersville Church which was our main church 31:42 that was where our base was. 31:43 Then we had Braxton, Rainelle and Webster Springs, 31:46 those were all three smaller churches 31:48 and, you know, a lot of us think of small churches. 31:51 These churches were very small. 31:53 I'm talking church membership of five members, 31:56 six members, and seven members strong, 31:59 you know, and it was really, really, powerful to see 32:01 how the church is pulled together 32:03 and really helped the Bible workers, 32:06 really helped the team, really helped with ASI. 32:08 And yes, you know, as Max mentioned here, 32:11 you know, we had 67 in-home Bible studies. 32:14 Now keep in mind, we only had 32:15 a one month to work, 32:17 that definitely was a blessing, that was very powerful to me 32:21 because to think that God can use 32:26 five Bible workers and myself, six Bible workers, 32:30 and in one month 32:32 to have 67 solid in-home Bible studies 32:35 and over 250 drop-offs. 32:37 Amen? Amen. 32:38 That's definitely powerful, you know, 32:41 as he also mentioned we had a flood, 32:43 and so the flood really did some damage 32:47 and hurt the community 32:48 and we were able to come in 32:49 and doors were opened for us as Bible workers 32:53 that would never have been opened. 32:54 See, I'm gonna share... 32:56 I'm gonna have James share his testimony real quick 32:58 of some experiences that the Bible workers had. 33:04 Amen. God is good, isn't He? 33:07 Amen. 33:08 So as one of the Bible workers, 33:10 I have the privilege of starting the pre-work there 33:14 and I'll tell you this. 33:16 When I went to West Virginia, I did not think 33:20 that the houses were so spread out. 33:22 So the houses are very, very spread out 33:24 and they're very, very, long 33:26 but we stayed diligent, we stayed diligent. 33:28 And I ended up meeting this one young lady, 33:32 she was 19 years old. 33:33 She didn't have a lot of self esteem in her life. 33:36 She actually... 33:37 When I met her at the door, I was like, "Okay, you know, 33:39 I'm gonna come back for a Bible study." 33:41 But I didn't think it was that strong. 33:43 You know, that the seed then I got wasn't, 33:46 it didn't seem that strong, 33:47 but as I went back 33:49 and as I start studying the Bible with her, 33:52 we started seeing changes, 33:53 we started seeing light, you know, coming on her face. 33:57 We actually saw that the Holy Spirit was working 34:00 and she ended up coming to our evangelistic series. 34:04 She started coming night after night after night 34:06 and when it came to the baptismal, 34:09 she actually accepted that call to get baptized. 34:13 God is good and you never know, you never know who, 34:17 no matter what door it is that you can reach. 34:21 Be persistent. Be persistent. 34:24 Amen. What a powerful testimony. 34:25 Now it's just one of many testimonies. 34:27 We had Bible study contacts 34:30 that wanted us to do Bible studies 34:32 for five days a week straight. 34:35 You know, come every night and do Bible studies. 34:37 We had contacts that would have us come in 34:40 and group, 34:42 bring their family, 34:43 bring their aunts, uncles, cousins. 34:44 We had one that was like six people in a Bible study 34:48 as a group. 34:49 And that was, it was definitely a tremendous blessing. 34:51 A lot of blessings came out of the whole situation, 34:55 it was a tremendous blessing. 34:56 So if I can say one thing, 34:58 if you feel God calling you to ministry, 35:01 do not hold back 35:02 because He will take you through, 35:04 He will carry you through and He will strengthen you. 35:08 Thank you very much. Give the mike to him. 35:10 Okay, you know, they mentioned a number 67 Bible studies. 35:15 You have to realize 35:17 that the four churches that we worked with 35:19 combined church membership of all four churches 35:23 was less than a hundred. 35:26 And so, you know, 35:27 we're going to do follow up 35:29 in one of the bigger churches 35:31 in Mountain View Conference is Summersville Church 35:35 where we were housed 35:36 and this is Dr. Wesley and lovely Judi Olson. 35:41 And, you know, when we went there, 35:46 you know, we worked with a lot of churches 35:48 and some churches are very supportive 35:51 and some churches tolerate us, 35:54 but this church 35:56 was one of the most supportive churches. 35:59 I told them that I wanted to just shrink the whole church 36:01 and just take it with us wherever Youth for Jesus goes. 36:04 And so, I just want to thank you so much 36:08 for your support 36:09 and all the things that you did for us. 36:11 And I want you to share with our ASI family 36:15 what being a host church member is like? 36:19 Oh, being a host family for us meant people in our house 36:21 at all times. 36:23 I never knew when I got home from work in the evening 36:24 who is gonna answer when I say, "Hello, honey, I'm home." 36:30 But we did enjoy it. 36:32 I was particularly impressed 36:33 with the quality of the speakers. 36:35 You wonder sometimes where the next generation 36:37 of evangelists is gonna come from 36:39 and they're right behind me. 36:40 Amen. 36:42 Beautiful presentations, 36:43 one of them I remember in particular 36:44 they crammed the 1,260 days, 2,300 years, 36:49 three angels' message, 36:50 identifying marks of the remnant church 36:52 and Ellen White, all in one huge sermon, so... 36:57 Well, we don't normally do that 36:59 but remember we only had two weeks so... 37:03 It was good. 37:04 Yes, and I just want to point out that 37:06 all of us were not in his house. 37:09 We just kind of came and went. 37:14 So, Judi, what was it like for you? 37:17 Well, first of all fell in love with the kids. 37:22 Parents if you're out there, you can be very proud. 37:26 Amen. 37:28 They were wonderful and I can tell you 37:30 about all the work they did in the community, 37:33 all of their contacts. 37:35 I can tell you about the help with the flood work. 37:38 I can tell you about painting our entire elementary school 37:42 as well as many other projects they did around the campus. 37:47 But I guess the thing that impressed me most 37:49 was the first morning 37:50 because of my job as a child care director. 37:54 I was on campus everyday, 37:58 and so I went over to one of their worships, 38:01 and I thought this is fantastic to see those kids 38:06 so enthusiastically singing hymns 38:10 out of the hymnbook. 38:12 Everybody wanted their hymn sung, 38:15 and just with incredible gusto. 38:18 It was inspiring. 38:21 And then they had a testimony period, 38:24 and halfway back the church was lined up with kids, 38:28 spontaneously they want to share their testimony. 38:32 When does that happen? 38:35 It was amazing, and I thought this is too good, 38:37 I've got to share this. 38:39 And so I arranged 38:40 for some of the school aged children 38:42 to come over and listen and sing with them. 38:45 The kids were so sweet. 38:47 They showed them how their instruments worked. 38:49 Some of them went around and introduced themselves, 38:52 got their names, made them feel so at home. 38:55 Did special songs just for the little kids, 38:59 special stories just for the little kids. 39:01 The last day I had my four year olds go over 39:05 and the teacher spontaneously told me, 39:07 "They loved it. 39:09 They were so good and so quiet." 39:14 We also have an adult education teacher on campus, 39:18 wonderful guide, 39:20 doesn't happen to be a Christian 39:21 but he told me, just spontaneously he said, 39:26 "When you told me that we're gonna have, 39:30 you know, 46 up to 60 teenagers on campus." 39:35 He said, "I was really skeptical." 39:37 And then he said, 39:40 "But I must say they were very inspiring." 39:45 And he said... 39:48 What did he say? 39:50 He said, "Oh, yes, it gave me hope in the next generation." 39:55 Oh, amen. 39:56 Thank you so much, and thank you again. 39:59 They were just most wonderful church members. 40:02 This is Elder Larry Bogas. 40:04 Amen. 40:06 From the Rocky Mountain, not Rocky Mountain, 40:09 I'm from Rocky Mountain Conference. 40:10 You're from 40:11 Mountain View Conference, West Virginia. 40:13 Mountain View Conference. 40:14 That's right. Okay, yes. 40:15 West Virginia-Western Maryland. 40:17 Okay, now the churches that we're talking about... 40:20 How many churches do you have in that conference? 40:22 We have 34 churches and two companies. 40:24 Okay. And how many active members? 40:27 We have about 900 active members out of 2,300. 40:31 Okay. 40:32 There are churches bigger than we are a conference. 40:34 Yes, I know. 40:36 Yeah. Yeah. 40:37 So one of the churches that we went to 40:39 was Summersville with a membership of about 70. 40:42 One church was Rainelle 40:45 and that church happened to be totally flooded out... 40:47 Totally flooded. Yes, have to rebuild. 40:49 Yes, and that has about 15 members. 40:51 At the most. At the most, okay. 40:53 Webster Springs has seven members, four attending? 40:56 Yes, that's correct. Okay. 40:57 It's way out in the mountains. 40:59 Yes, and all these churches that you have 41:01 are like an hour apart. 41:02 Yes, that's correct. 41:04 So it is almost like a mission field. 41:07 It is a mission field but thank you very much. 41:09 Yes, so if you want to go into a mission field 41:13 and do evangelism, 41:15 you don't have to go out of the country. 41:16 Amen. 41:18 They can come to Mountain View Conference. 41:20 That's right. That's right. Thank you. 41:21 And I want to thank you so much for your support and for coming 41:25 and actually having a class for our kids. 41:27 So what was it like teaching again? 41:30 It was wonderful to be with these young people 41:32 and to listen to them respond. 41:36 We were talking about 41:38 how to know God's will for our life. 41:40 And so we were just talking, but it is so wonderful 41:44 to be able to be in their company 41:46 and to listen to their very positive, 41:51 good answers to life. 41:54 And as Dr. Olson said, 41:57 "These young people are just unreal 41:59 and we don't have to worry about the future 42:02 when we have these kinds of young people." 42:04 Right. This is an army of youth rightly trained. 42:06 Army of youth rightly trained, that's right. 42:08 Yes. 42:09 Well, I just want to thank you so much for your... 42:11 For letting us come first of all. 42:13 Well, it's an answer to prayer, Lisa. 42:16 This whole thing Youth for Jesus, Pathway, 42:20 all of that was an answer to prayer. 42:22 So you are an answer to prayer, the Youth for Jesus 42:25 were an answer to prayer, 42:26 and I've got to say thank you to Youth for Jesus, 42:30 to many more, and Lisa, 42:34 and ASI, I mean, 42:38 I've often dreamed about having young people 42:40 come to Mountain View 42:41 and it happened because of prayer. 42:43 Amen. 42:44 And I want to thank the North American division 42:46 who helped, Colombian Union Leadership helped, 42:49 and so everybody worked together 42:51 and it was so awesome. 42:53 So awesome to see these young people 42:55 and to see them leave 42:57 was really a bitter-sweet experience. 43:01 So I just want to say thank you, Lisa, 43:03 thank you Youth for Jesus. 43:05 Thank you. 43:06 You know, we're supposed to press together 43:07 and work together... 43:09 Amen. To finish this work. 43:10 And I could see that the students 43:12 were pressed together in their bunk beds 43:14 when you were there. 43:15 Yes. 43:16 We traveled with our beds when we don't have dormitories 43:20 and these classrooms are very small 43:22 so they were kind of pressed together. 43:23 Yes they were. 43:25 I took pictures just to prove it. 43:26 Yes, so... 43:28 Yes, well, we're in the mission field. 43:29 Yeah, thank you very much. So, yes, thank you. 43:33 Now we have a short video with some pictures 43:36 from some of the destruction that happened in West Virginia 43:40 actually just at the beginning of this summer 43:41 if that's going to be up on the screen. 43:44 Well, anyways, it was a huge destruction, 43:47 I'm sure you all heard of it in the news in West Virginia. 43:53 The water went very fast, it rose very fast, 43:56 flash flooding over 20... 43:59 Well, there was 20 people that died 44:01 and hundreds of people lost their homes. 44:03 This was all right before Youth for Jesus 44:05 came to the area. 44:06 So, you know, Satan had some attack there in that area 44:10 and then God sent His people 44:11 right in there at the right time 44:13 with that with Pathways to Health. 44:15 Even amidst the destruction, one of the churches there, 44:18 the Rainelle Church also in partnered up 44:21 with the Youth for Jesus 44:22 and they were helping with the disaster relief. 44:24 For about two weeks, 44:26 helping to feed volunteers that were helping, 44:29 helping to clear out trash, 44:31 and but unfortunately the Rainelle Church 44:34 that was there was actually destroyed with water, 44:36 was just not be able to be used anymore. 44:39 Outside it looks okay, 44:41 but there was a huge amount of water damage on the inside. 44:43 Six inches of water in the sanctuary, black mould, 44:47 asbestos, it's condemned. 44:50 So they don't have a place to meet anymore. 44:53 One of the church sites, 44:54 and this was a problem for us when we got there. 44:59 Now I've got with me Caleb Batista. 45:03 He's a treasurer from the Rainelle Church. 45:05 And I just have a couple of questions for you 45:07 about your church, Caleb. 45:08 Now, obviously it was destroyed right before 45:12 YFJ was able to be there, 45:13 and we were supposed to have meetings there, 45:15 so what did you guys do? 45:16 Well, one of the grateful individuals 45:18 that we helped out is Youth for Jesus 45:22 and the community lended us a tent 45:24 to have the meetings and it was very successful. 45:26 The people were more receptive to it 45:29 considering that they don't see a tent meeting 45:33 or arrival that often. 45:35 Now, how many visitors did you have 45:36 that came to the tent meeting? 45:37 A total of 16 visitors. 45:39 Okay, but now where are these visitors gonna go 45:41 and where the church members gonna go to meet now that, 45:44 because that's not a permanent structure 45:46 you got with the tent? 45:48 Well, we're looking to rebuild the church 45:51 but the first step is finances. 45:54 We need help, we're trying to raise money to rebuild 45:58 the Rainelle Seventh-day Adventist Church. 45:59 You told me that's gonna take something like $78,000, right? 46:03 That's correct. 46:04 Now where are you gonna get that money? 46:06 The Lord will provide. 46:07 Okay, well, that's where you all come in. 46:09 If there's anybody out there that feels impressed 46:12 to help sponsor this church, 46:15 Caleb, how can they get a hold of you? 46:17 Well, the easiest way is probably my email address, 46:20 it's caleb.batista@icloud.com 46:24 and just get a hold of me there, 46:26 and I can give you as much information as you need. 46:29 Is there a place that can meet you here? 46:30 Yes it's at the Eden Valley booth. 46:34 Okay. That's number 740 at the Eden Valley booth. 46:36 If you want to talk to Caleb and see how you can help 46:39 with the Rainelle Church. 46:41 Thanks, Caleb. Thank you. 46:42 Now, I've got a couple of the students up here 46:45 that are gonna share a few testimonies from this month. 46:47 The first one is Bailey from California. 46:50 Now, Bailey, this is your third year at YFJ 46:53 but there was something different 46:54 about this year for you, what was that? 46:56 Yes, this year I had the privilege 46:58 of being one of the eight speakers 47:00 to speak for the evangelistic meetings. 47:02 Now, have you ever preached before? 47:04 I went on a mission trip with my school 47:06 to the Philippines 47:07 and I preached two sermons there with a translator. 47:10 So this is my first time here in America 47:12 speaking in English to anyone. 47:14 You also had more sermons here than in... 47:16 Oh, yeah, we had a lot more. 47:18 Okay, now how was the experience for you? 47:21 It was amazing. 47:23 It really pushed me out of my comfort zone. 47:25 Naturally, I'm a very shy, reserved person 47:27 but speaking made me come out of my comfort zone 47:30 and shared what I believed 47:32 and it gave me that confidence and the boldness to do so. 47:35 And I really learned the emphasis 47:36 of having to rely on God for your strength. 47:39 There was one instance I was supposed to preach that evening 47:42 and I could hardly stand up for more than a few minutes 47:45 without feeling like I was going to faint. 47:47 And I prayed, and I prayed with some of the other speakers 47:50 and staff members, 47:51 and I got to right before I was supposed to 47:54 preach my sermon and I still could not stand up. 47:56 And I was praying 47:58 and then right when I was supposed to get up I got up 48:00 and I was able to go through my 35 minute sermon 48:03 without feeling faint at all. 48:05 Amen. 48:06 And that's just a small testimony 48:07 of the way that God can work through us, 48:09 not just physically, but spiritually, 48:11 and emotionally, and mentally, 48:13 as we serve Him through His preaching. 48:15 Now, how old are you, Bailey? 48:16 I'm 17. 48:17 So if she can preach in evangelistic series, 48:19 you all can too, right? 48:21 Amen. All right. 48:23 Now we've got Jeremy, he's also... 48:24 You're from California as well, right? 48:26 That's correct. 48:27 Now, Jeremy, we... 48:28 Miss Lisa already mentioned some of the different things 48:30 that we have this year. 48:32 There's a lot of changes in the YFJ program 48:33 because of the situation with the flood 48:36 and other things, Pathways to Health. 48:38 What were some of the different outreach things that we did 48:40 that were different? 48:42 Well, besides Pathways to Health 48:43 which is a pretty big one. 48:45 We did actually quite a bit of canvassing, 48:48 and we also did some Bible studies, 48:52 and the cleanup, that was interesting. 48:56 Okay. 48:57 What about the canvassing, how did that go? 48:59 It actually went pretty well. 49:00 It's like my first time, 49:02 actually going canvassing for an extended period of time, 49:06 and the first neighborhood that I went to, 49:09 it wasn't very receptive 49:11 and so after going through the first time 49:14 actually canvassing and getting complete rejections. 49:17 You start feeling a little bit hesitant about the next one. 49:22 But then we went and we got back in the van, 49:25 moved on to next neighborhood, we prayed really hard about it. 49:28 The next neighborhood was extremely receptive. 49:30 It was a blessing. Amen. 49:32 What about... 49:33 You said, talked about a cleanup. 49:34 There was a special project that one of the Bible workers 49:36 had with their Bible study contacts. 49:38 Can you tell us a little bit about that? 49:40 Okay. 49:43 This one it's really interesting 49:46 because one of them, our Bible workers, James, 49:49 he was up on stage earlier. 49:51 He had a Bible study contact, 49:52 a retired teacher with respiratory problems 49:55 that made it so that she couldn't clean her house 49:57 for two years. 49:59 To top it off she had a lot of animals, 50:01 notably birds 50:03 and when things started to accumulating... 50:08 so... 50:09 What was on the floor in her house? 50:12 It wasn't a very big house. 50:13 Yes, it was a pretty small house. 50:14 But there were so many things in that house 50:16 that we spend maybe 30 minutes at least 50:20 just trying to clear the path 50:21 from the front door to the back door. 50:23 What else was on the floor though? 50:25 I would say give or take an inch 50:27 or an inch and a half of bird seed, 50:29 bird droppings and other items. 50:31 It was pretty bad 50:33 and we actually had to wear masks inside, right? 50:35 Yes, that's correct. 50:38 Well, actually one of the people 50:40 I was working with had to scrape 50:41 a dead bird off the floor. 50:43 And we found at least a couple of dead mice too, right? 50:45 Yes. 50:47 It was pretty bad, this lady really needed our help and... 50:49 Yeah. 50:51 We were able to clean most of the stuff off the floor, 50:55 take out a lot of the trash, sort some of the stuff. 50:58 We actually filled I think a pretty large 51:00 maybe 20 foot tarp 51:02 with just trash that we took out. 51:05 This is Christ method in action, right? 51:09 Amen. Thank you, Jeremy. 51:12 Now we have Dominique from Delaware. 51:15 Dominique, 51:16 at first you really didn't want to come to YFJ, right? 51:19 No, it wasn't in my plans at all 51:22 actually I had this stuff 51:23 and with education activities and I was like, 51:26 "I don't think I'm going there." 51:28 But after this basically like a month before 51:31 I decided I'm just gonna embrace it 51:33 and just gonna go and at least take a time, 51:36 you know, and when I first... 51:38 I'm from the east coast, so when I first got there, 51:41 I was like really confused like, "Where is the houses? 51:44 Where is everything here?" 51:45 As so we first got there, I put my luggage down 51:47 but it wasn't really hitting me, 51:48 my brother was like, "Dom, 51:50 we're gonna have so much fun." 51:51 He was laughing at me. I was like, "Oh, goodness." 51:52 And it didn't really hit me until I got in the car 51:54 with Miss Lisa and Miss Julie. 51:56 And I just started crying, I was like, 51:58 "This is not real, like I can't." 52:00 This is not happening. 52:01 I was just like, "Oh, my gosh, I'm not gonna make it." 52:02 I'm very dramatic by the way, so I was like, 52:04 "I'm just gonna walk home, I'm gonna walk home, 52:07 someone gonna come get me. 52:08 I'm not gonna stay here." 52:09 You know, I was just being some extra... 52:12 You were even crying, right? 52:14 Yeah, I was like it's not possible, 52:16 I'm not staying here, 52:18 I don't know what's going to go on 52:19 but it's just not for me... 52:21 But you ended up enjoying the program, right? 52:23 Yes, actually I did. 52:25 We learned so much stuff on schedules 52:27 we were like extremely tight, 52:28 but I was able to adapt to it very quickly 52:31 and I was able to learn so much. 52:33 Now what was the turning point for you? 52:35 Was there a certain class or any outreach 52:38 or something that really turned made a change for you? 52:41 Well, the first week, you know, I wasn't as open I guess so, 52:45 you know, we had... 52:47 I went back to my church, I'm very, very, like involved 52:50 but we got there and I was like, 52:53 "This is a lot of church like, we do every morning, 52:55 we are doing worship and then we have classes, 52:57 and it's just a very tight schedule." 52:59 But then after I was able to just 53:01 hear the first sermon by Pastor Hyme, I heard. 53:04 And he said something that just really got in my head. 53:06 He was like basically that 53:08 we say we don't have enough time 53:10 but it's because we occupy our time with the wrong things. 53:12 And then after that, I was able to listen more 53:16 and actually embrace and just actually 53:17 pay a lot more attention. 53:19 Now, because of the program 53:21 you decided to be re-baptized, right? 53:23 Yes. Why was that? 53:24 Well, I actually heard that, you know, 53:27 people get re-baptized every year 53:30 and I was like, "You know, I've already been baptized, 53:32 I don't need to do that again." 53:34 But the Friday night before baptism, 53:37 I heard the appeal and I was like, wow, 53:39 this is like actually kind of touching me. 53:42 But I was like, maybe I'll just come back next year 53:44 and get baptized or something. 53:45 I wasn't really too sure 53:47 but then I basically I just got for sign, 53:50 and not even five minutes later he gave me that sign. 53:52 And so I was just like, I need to show 53:55 God I'm actually committed, I need to restart, 53:56 and I need to just do over and actually show him like 53:59 I'm giving myself to Him again. 54:02 Now, what do you want to do now that you're going back home. 54:05 I mean praise God for your decision to be re-baptized. 54:07 Yes. But now what? 54:09 Well, you go back home, even as a teenager 54:12 you have the same influences 54:14 but I like, I'm just gonna turn myself to know that 54:17 I'm not living for myself, I also have to live for God. 54:20 Amen. 54:21 How many of you here are willing to pray for Dominique 54:23 and all of these YFJ students when they go home? 54:27 Amen, because they're gonna need it 54:29 when they go back away from the influences that they have, 54:31 the good influences here at YFJ and they go back 54:34 and they're alone in their home churches 54:37 sometimes away from other youth. 54:41 Thank you, Max. 54:42 Well, we have a surprise interview here. 54:46 He didn't know he was gonna be coming up here 54:47 but we have some extra time. 54:49 So I wanted to ask Cameron because, you know, 54:54 when Cameron first came, 54:56 he came with a purpose 54:58 and as the program went on 55:01 he got sidetracked a little bit. 55:03 But then towards the end of it he realized, 55:05 "You know, hey, this is a program 55:07 that is going to give me an opportunities in life 55:10 that I don't get." 55:11 And so you talked to me about wanting to go back 55:14 to which school? 55:16 Well, a school in Tennessee, it's called Heritage Academy. 55:18 And what grade are you in? 55:20 I'm going into my junior year so 11th grade. 55:22 Your junior year. Okay. 55:23 And so as you saw what was happening, 55:27 what did you want to do? 55:29 Well, I was really impressed that when I went back 55:32 that I wanted to start an evangelistic meeting 55:34 in my school. 55:35 You know, I was really impressed by the speakers 55:36 and I just... 55:38 I talked to a couple of speakers, you know, 55:39 how is it like speaking. 55:40 I talked to Miss Lisa. 55:42 You now, when I came here, you know, I saw my president, 55:43 my principal and I talked to them about it 55:45 and they said they were going to consider. 55:48 And yes... 55:49 And, you know, this is a challenge 55:51 that we give to all our people, all our students. 55:54 And the goal and the mission of Youth for Jesus 55:58 is to provide an environment for one month and I told them, 56:02 "If you live to be 90 years old 56:05 how many months of life do you have?" 56:08 One thousand eighty months. 56:11 So 1080 months you're going to have 56:13 so take this one month 56:15 and dedicate it to your relationship with God. 56:18 And so we ask you to put all distractions aside 56:23 and we help them do that by taking, 56:27 by asking them not to bring any media. 56:30 They only have their phones 56:32 for outreach for safety reasons, 56:34 and otherwise you don't have too much distraction. 56:38 Yep, you're right. No distractions. 56:40 Except each other, 56:43 so one of the things that we ask them to do 56:45 is put all personal relationships 56:48 on the back burner and focus on friendship 56:52 and most of all friendship with God. 56:55 And did you find that this environment that was created 56:59 helped you in that goal? 57:01 Yeah, it did. 57:02 There was a lot of special people 57:04 and the Bible workers have helped, 57:05 the staff have helped a lot, and they try to push us 57:08 and guide us from their own direction. 57:09 You know, many of us found that if you're willing to listen, 57:11 you got pushed in the right direction. 57:13 Amen. 57:14 And so you're going back to Heritage Academy 57:16 and you're going to organize an evangelistic meeting. 57:19 Hopefully, yes. Yes. 57:20 Okay, you get those students and the teachers to work. 57:22 All right. Okay, thank you, Cameron. 57:25 All right, well, this is our report for Youth for Jesus. 57:28 Next year we will be in Texas. 57:32 So ASI Convention will be in Houston 57:35 and I spoke with a conference president there, 57:37 I thought he was here 57:38 and I was gonna have him come up 57:40 and welcome ASI to Houston, 57:42 but he has pastoral meetings at home, 57:45 so he wasn't able to be with us. 57:46 But he wanted me to make sure 57:49 that ASI will be more than welcome to Houston 57:52 and for Youth for Jesus 57:54 to come and share our blessings with them. 57:56 And so we want to thank ASI, and LIFE, 58:00 and Mission Seek for supporting 58:01 this wonderful program for your young people. |
