00:05:54.98\00:05:57.79 We had the pleasure of sponsoring a two day conference 00:05:57.82\00:06:03.02 at the Camelback Seventh-day Adventist Church 00:06:03.06\00:06:04.93 called Fruition Lab. 00:06:04.96\00:06:07.03 And it was an Adventist entrepreneurial gathering, 00:06:07.06\00:06:10.60 individuals who have a passion for ministry 00:06:10.63\00:06:13.67 that may not be in a local church as a pastor, 00:06:13.70\00:06:16.64 but they have a calling to the business world, 00:06:16.67\00:06:18.74 sharing their faith in the marketplace 00:06:18.77\00:06:21.58 on a day to day basis. 00:06:21.61\00:06:23.01 So it was a number of executives and entrepreneurs 00:06:23.04\00:06:25.85 coming together to teach practical skills 00:06:25.88\00:06:29.42 on how people can refine their craft, 00:06:29.45\00:06:31.95 get started in one, start their own nonprofit. 00:06:31.99\00:06:34.86 And it was a huge success, great turnout, 00:06:34.89\00:06:37.26 and it was a big blessing. 00:06:37.29\00:06:38.63 Wonderful. 00:06:38.66\00:06:40.00 Well, Bill, why don't you tell us 00:06:40.03\00:06:41.36 why Adventist Review would be interested 00:06:41.40\00:06:43.06 in sponsoring this sort of event 00:06:43.10\00:06:44.67 or helping to sponsor it at least? 00:06:44.70\00:06:46.03 Well, it's exactly the kind of thing 00:06:46.07\00:06:47.44 that ASI has stood for 60 years 00:06:47.47\00:06:49.74 but it's bringing a new market 00:06:49.77\00:06:51.51 of young Adventist entrepreneurs 00:06:51.54\00:06:53.17 into the circle of ministry. 00:06:53.21\00:06:55.08 There are several ways 00:06:55.11\00:06:56.44 in which the Lord works with us. 00:06:56.48\00:06:57.81 Sometimes He says, "You go, fit this job description." 00:06:57.85\00:07:00.88 But more typically the Holy Spirit says, 00:07:00.92\00:07:03.12 "Church, frame a ministry around the gifts 00:07:03.15\00:07:06.52 that I have given individuals." 00:07:06.55\00:07:08.12 And that's what we're trying to do, 00:07:08.16\00:07:09.72 discovering the gifts that God has given to talented people, 00:07:09.76\00:07:13.16 business people, and find a way to empower them 00:07:13.19\00:07:16.13 to bring their witness into the marketplace. 00:07:16.16\00:07:18.43 I'll tell you, 00:07:18.47\00:07:19.80 watching a 120 people packing out an auditorium, 00:07:19.83\00:07:22.94 standing against the walls, 00:07:22.97\00:07:24.54 enthusiastic about sharing their faith 00:07:24.57\00:07:27.18 in relevant high quality business principles, 00:07:27.21\00:07:30.41 that's encouraging to old man like me. 00:07:30.45\00:07:33.35 Yes, that sounds wonderful. 00:07:33.38\00:07:35.18 Well, we really appreciate the relationship 00:07:35.22\00:07:37.65 that Adventist Review and ASI have had for quite some time. 00:07:37.69\00:07:40.76 In fact, it's almost been a decade 00:07:40.79\00:07:42.62 that we have been working together 00:07:42.66\00:07:44.29 in a close way. 00:07:44.33\00:07:45.66 Why is this relationship important to you? 00:07:45.69\00:07:48.13 There is nothing more faith building 00:07:48.16\00:07:50.40 than being around people 00:07:50.43\00:07:51.83 who are doing frontline witness. 00:07:51.87\00:07:54.34 I get to meet people in all kinds of environments 00:07:54.37\00:07:56.74 including many individuals who are several steps removed 00:07:56.77\00:08:00.51 from frontline witness, still doing important work, 00:08:00.54\00:08:02.88 but I love the opportunity to talk with people 00:08:02.91\00:08:05.35 who have fresh stories 00:08:05.38\00:08:07.15 of how the gospel changed today, 00:08:07.18\00:08:09.88 and yesterday, and will change tomorrow. 00:08:09.92\00:08:12.12 That's what we get when we come to ASI. 00:08:12.15\00:08:14.52 We spend most of our time here 00:08:14.56\00:08:16.39 talking with you in the hallways, 00:08:16.42\00:08:17.96 listening to your stories, taking notes, 00:08:17.99\00:08:20.43 following up so that our operation 00:08:20.46\00:08:23.23 both on the web, and in print, and soon coming app, 00:08:23.26\00:08:26.84 on short video we get to tell the stories 00:08:26.87\00:08:29.57 of God's faithfulness 00:08:29.60\00:08:30.94 worked out in the lives of ASI members. 00:08:30.97\00:08:32.87 Amen. 00:08:32.91\00:08:34.24 Well, I see this evening that on all of our chairs, 00:08:34.28\00:08:37.01 we have this beautiful new copy of the Adventist Review. 00:08:37.05\00:08:40.62 It's titled the Least of These. 00:08:40.65\00:08:42.55 And, Jared, could you share with us a little bit, 00:08:42.58\00:08:44.09 what's inside? 00:08:44.12\00:08:45.52 Absolutely, we live in a world where issues are pressing at us 00:08:45.55\00:08:49.16 from all directions. 00:08:49.19\00:08:50.79 And just before the return of Christ, 00:08:50.83\00:08:53.29 we are told immensely in the Spirit of Prophecy 00:08:53.33\00:08:57.00 that we would get back to a work 00:08:57.03\00:08:58.93 that was deeply to the least of these. 00:08:58.97\00:09:02.70 And Matthew 25 tells us that when we help those in need, 00:09:02.74\00:09:06.47 we are helping Christ. 00:09:06.51\00:09:08.08 So this issue is packed with some edgy topics, 00:09:08.11\00:09:12.85 real issues that are taking place in this world 00:09:12.88\00:09:15.32 that we are excited to be speaking about. 00:09:15.35\00:09:18.05 In it, you'll find also some ASI featured ministries, 00:09:18.09\00:09:21.49 Don Otis and Heritage Health Food 00:09:21.52\00:09:23.93 who recently acquired Cedar Lake 00:09:23.96\00:09:26.19 and Worthington Foods 00:09:26.23\00:09:28.33 which has made us all happy, right? 00:09:28.36\00:09:31.00 So anyway, we're excited, we hope you'll check it out. 00:09:31.03\00:09:33.60 We hope you'll subscribe to the Adventist Review. 00:09:33.64\00:09:35.70 Wonderful. 00:09:35.74\00:09:37.07 Well, when we think about Adventist Review, 00:09:37.11\00:09:38.87 primarily we think of the magazine, 00:09:38.91\00:09:40.98 the Adventist Review, right, 00:09:41.01\00:09:42.34 because that's what we're familiar with. 00:09:42.38\00:09:43.95 But when I say Adventist Review, 00:09:43.98\00:09:45.51 what are you thinking of? 00:09:45.55\00:09:46.88 These days, the print journal is one of the least things 00:09:46.92\00:09:50.52 I'm thinking about because, actually, 00:09:50.55\00:09:52.52 God has brought eyes and ears to this operation 00:09:52.55\00:09:57.26 that never look at the print journal. 00:09:57.29\00:09:59.29 We now have nearly half a million unique viewers 00:09:59.33\00:10:01.96 every month who come for the best in Adventist news, 00:10:02.00\00:10:04.93 short video, opportunities to read stories, 00:10:04.97\00:10:08.57 and commentary at length. 00:10:08.60\00:10:10.71 We're soon rolling out our own AR TV, 00:10:10.74\00:10:13.81 a streaming channel that will be shown up 00:10:13.84\00:10:15.44 in mid September, 00:10:15.48\00:10:16.81 and Adventist Review app will also be out in September. 00:10:16.85\00:10:20.28 Every possible way we can to help persons find faith, 00:10:20.32\00:10:23.99 find a community. 00:10:24.02\00:10:25.49 One of the things that has come back to us 00:10:25.52\00:10:27.19 in the analytics in this last year 00:10:27.22\00:10:29.19 that has startled all of us, 00:10:29.22\00:10:31.09 of those half million unique viewers, 00:10:31.13\00:10:33.53 the analytics tell us that 62 percent of them 00:10:33.56\00:10:36.43 are millennials. 00:10:36.46\00:10:38.40 That's more than 300,000 young Adventists 00:10:38.43\00:10:41.84 or persons on the edge of Adventism 00:10:41.87\00:10:44.51 who are engaging with the Adventist Review. 00:10:44.54\00:10:46.74 They're your children, they're your grandchildren. 00:10:46.78\00:10:49.24 They're people you care about 00:10:49.28\00:10:51.45 who are finding faith through this bridge. 00:10:51.48\00:10:53.92 We want to encourage you to pray for us, 00:10:53.95\00:10:56.22 send us your comments. 00:10:56.25\00:10:57.59 Tell us how we can do a better job 00:10:57.62\00:10:59.05 at serving that church. 00:10:59.09\00:11:00.76 Amen. 00:11:00.79\00:11:02.12 Well, on behalf of ASI, 00:11:02.16\00:11:03.89 I want to thank you, Bill and Jared, 00:11:03.93\00:11:05.83 for the beautiful partnership that we can enjoy together. 00:11:05.86\00:11:08.20 Thank you. 00:11:08.23\00:11:09.56 Jesus made an incredible promise 00:11:12.67\00:11:14.40 in Matthew 24:14, 00:11:14.44\00:11:16.27 that He will get the gospel to every nation in the world. 00:11:16.30\00:11:20.68 And then, He will come back. 00:11:20.71\00:11:23.24 But it seems so impossible. And yet, He has His ways. 00:11:23.28\00:11:26.55 And one of those is to bring the world 00:11:26.58\00:11:28.88 from around the world to us next door. 00:11:28.92\00:11:31.05 Consider with me, Bhutan. 00:11:31.09\00:11:33.19 Bhutan is one of those countries 00:11:33.22\00:11:34.96 that is hardly known. 00:11:34.99\00:11:37.16 It is so tiny nestled there among the Himalayan Mountains 00:11:37.19\00:11:40.76 dwarfed by Nepal, by Bangladesh, 00:11:40.80\00:11:44.13 by China, by India. 00:11:44.17\00:11:46.03 But in that country of less than a million people 00:11:46.07\00:11:49.14 are 73 distinct people groups. 00:11:49.17\00:11:52.41 Can you imagine? 00:11:52.44\00:11:53.78 So many in that place with a different culture, 00:11:53.81\00:11:56.21 different language or dialects. 00:11:56.24\00:11:58.01 They are part of 00:11:58.05\00:11:59.38 what the Joshua project describes 00:11:59.41\00:12:01.02 as the unreached people that are yet to be reached 00:12:01.05\00:12:03.95 before Christ comes, 00:12:03.99\00:12:05.35 those among 4051 groups yet to be reached. 00:12:05.39\00:12:10.16 So how can it happen? 00:12:10.19\00:12:12.29 When we worked with the Center for East Asian religions 00:12:12.33\00:12:14.56 with Global Missions, 00:12:14.60\00:12:15.96 we would often pray for Bhutan. 00:12:16.00\00:12:17.93 We say, "Lord, please find a way 00:12:17.97\00:12:19.40 to open this very resistant country 00:12:19.43\00:12:21.90 that has been closed to the gospel for so long." 00:12:21.94\00:12:24.74 But we were never able to visit 00:12:24.77\00:12:26.41 and very little happened there on the border. 00:12:26.44\00:12:29.61 And one day, I flew into Washington DC. 00:12:29.64\00:12:31.78 I went to a Target to buy some American food goodies 00:12:31.81\00:12:34.55 to take back to my children. 00:12:34.58\00:12:36.22 And I was walking down the aisle, 00:12:36.25\00:12:37.72 I saw a tall man, shaved head, orange robe. 00:12:37.75\00:12:41.62 And just by his look, I thought maybe he's from Bhutan. 00:12:41.66\00:12:44.69 I went up and met him and sure enough he was. 00:12:44.73\00:12:47.40 And that got me thinking 00:12:47.43\00:12:48.76 and wondering how many had come to America from Bhutan. 00:12:48.80\00:12:53.50 Ten percent of the country, 00:12:53.54\00:12:56.50 71,000 refugees over the last ten years 00:12:56.54\00:12:59.84 have come into our country, 00:12:59.87\00:13:01.51 they're scattered all over Ohio, 00:13:01.54\00:13:03.41 Pennsylvania, Texas. 00:13:03.45\00:13:05.41 God is moving and He has a plan, 00:13:05.45\00:13:07.68 I am thrilled. 00:13:07.72\00:13:09.25 At the same time, my heart breaks 00:13:09.28\00:13:10.82 to know that among this group are many 00:13:10.85\00:13:13.29 who have experienced so much sorrow 00:13:13.32\00:13:15.09 that they are counted as the largest suicide rate 00:13:15.12\00:13:17.69 for any group of refugees. 00:13:17.73\00:13:19.96 They need you and me to become their friends 00:13:20.00\00:13:22.86 and bring the hope of Jesus Christ. 00:13:22.90\00:13:26.00 So these 73 people groups unreached 00:13:26.03\00:13:28.24 that are part of that 4051 are on God's heart. 00:13:28.27\00:13:31.34 Think of this paraphrase of John 3:16, 00:13:31.37\00:13:35.38 "God so loved 4051 unreached people groups 00:13:35.41\00:13:39.61 that He gave His only begotten Son 00:13:39.65\00:13:41.92 that whosoever of the 3,065,065, 00:13:41.95\00:13:45.95 maybe 67, 68 now believes in Him 00:13:45.99\00:13:49.56 should not perish but have everlasting life." 00:13:49.59\00:13:52.76 So join me to pray for them and ask God to raise you up 00:13:52.79\00:13:56.60 or somebody up to find out 00:13:56.63\00:13:58.40 where they are right here in America 00:13:58.43\00:14:00.44 and share Christ's love with them. 00:14:00.47\00:14:02.04 Let's pray. 00:14:02.07\00:14:03.71 Father in heaven, 00:14:03.74\00:14:05.07 we cannot comprehend what Jesus experienced 00:14:05.11\00:14:07.48 on the cross as He bore the sins 00:14:07.51\00:14:09.51 of the people from Bhutan and every single people group. 00:14:09.54\00:14:13.08 But we know that Your love is great enough 00:14:13.11\00:14:15.18 that You will come through on Your promise 00:14:15.22\00:14:17.05 to take the gospel to every kindred, 00:14:17.09\00:14:19.42 tribe and tongue. 00:14:19.45\00:14:20.96 We want to be a part of that and You have brought them 00:14:20.99\00:14:23.63 and thrust them into our arms 00:14:23.66\00:14:25.16 that they might receive the good news 00:14:25.19\00:14:27.36 and take it back to their people. 00:14:27.40\00:14:29.43 Forgive us for our lack of faith. 00:14:29.46\00:14:31.37 Forgive us for our lack of love, 00:14:31.40\00:14:33.00 we need the eyesalve, we need the raiment, 00:14:33.03\00:14:35.47 the gold tried in the fire that we might, with You, 00:14:35.50\00:14:38.51 invite them to come 00:14:38.54\00:14:40.28 and let you knock on their door come inside 00:14:40.31\00:14:43.14 and save them for eternity. 00:14:43.18\00:14:45.11 Take us, Lord, and help us to reach the world next door 00:14:45.15\00:14:48.62 as soon as possible, in Jesus' name, amen. 00:14:48.65\00:14:51.89 Hello, everyone. 00:14:54.99\00:14:56.32 We are continuing this evening with one of our favorite parts 00:14:56.36\00:15:00.43 of our ASI Convention. 00:15:00.46\00:15:01.83 And that is our members in action segment. 00:15:01.86\00:15:04.27 And right now, I have with me, Lew Keith. 00:15:04.30\00:15:07.10 Perhaps, you could tell us 00:15:07.14\00:15:08.80 just a little bit about yourself. 00:15:08.84\00:15:10.81 There may be someone here who does not know you, 00:15:10.84\00:15:13.71 and perhaps would like to know a few things about you. 00:15:13.74\00:15:17.51 Have you always been a Christian? 00:15:17.55\00:15:19.55 Well, not always. 00:15:19.58\00:15:20.92 I was a... 00:15:20.95\00:15:22.35 You could say heavy drinker or drunk. 00:15:22.38\00:15:24.05 I was criminal. 00:15:24.09\00:15:25.42 I was as far from God as man could be. 00:15:25.45\00:15:27.49 I met my wife. 00:15:27.52\00:15:28.86 She was a new age spiritualist, she read my palm, 00:15:28.89\00:15:31.36 did my astrology chart, rode a motorcycle 00:15:31.39\00:15:33.93 and this is how we met. 00:15:33.96\00:15:35.80 And she got pregnant, took her to Wildwood Hospital, 00:15:35.83\00:15:38.03 met Seventh-day Adventist, 00:15:38.07\00:15:39.53 and that's how I came to know God. 00:15:39.57\00:15:42.70 Okay. 00:15:42.74\00:15:44.07 And so, in a nutshell, 00:15:44.11\00:15:45.44 you've told us how you became a Christian. 00:15:45.47\00:15:48.98 Tell us now, where you are? 00:15:49.01\00:15:51.28 Well, I hope to be in God's hands tonight, 00:15:51.31\00:15:53.45 but I went to Wildwood, joined the staff, 00:15:53.48\00:15:58.42 Pastor Atwood studied with me. 00:15:58.45\00:16:00.09 He endured the Bible study, baptizes my wife and me. 00:16:00.12\00:16:03.46 And then I went to Wildwood. 00:16:03.49\00:16:04.83 And there, I developed an orientation toward 00:16:04.86\00:16:06.76 using natural remedies for, you know, health challenges. 00:16:06.80\00:16:10.30 And in Wildwood, we purchased land in our city, 00:16:10.33\00:16:12.67 Tennessee, they sent us there. 00:16:12.70\00:16:14.70 And my wife and I, we had the thinking, 00:16:14.74\00:16:16.50 the mindset that we would just take guest 00:16:16.54\00:16:18.64 and use the natural remedies to help them. 00:16:18.67\00:16:21.44 And as it turned out our first guest, 00:16:21.48\00:16:23.38 nobody knew we were there, we had no money, 00:16:23.41\00:16:25.11 we had an old farmhouse, nobody knew we were there. 00:16:25.15\00:16:28.28 We had no furniture, we just prayed. 00:16:28.32\00:16:31.45 And, you know, I've noticed that 00:16:31.49\00:16:32.95 when you pray from an earnest heart, 00:16:32.99\00:16:34.72 God always hears and He answers, 00:16:34.76\00:16:36.62 but not always in the way you think. 00:16:36.66\00:16:38.63 So we prayed, 00:16:38.66\00:16:40.96 the Lord sent us our first guest, 00:16:41.00\00:16:42.46 he was a crack addict from New York City. 00:16:42.50\00:16:45.00 Second guest came out of jail in Silverdale jail, 00:16:45.03\00:16:47.70 and he was a dope dealer from Chattanooga. 00:16:47.74\00:16:50.01 And then the third guest, and the fourth guest, 00:16:50.04\00:16:51.81 and the fifth guest and they were all problems 00:16:51.84\00:16:53.94 with addictions, alcohol, depression, mental disorders, 00:16:53.98\00:16:57.51 and everything else. 00:16:57.55\00:16:59.11 And so we used natural methods. 00:16:59.15\00:17:00.58 You know what I found out, 00:17:00.62\00:17:01.95 they were just fine whatever the problem, 00:17:01.98\00:17:04.22 one size fits what? 00:17:04.25\00:17:05.59 Fits all, right. 00:17:05.62\00:17:06.96 So we used that and it really worked. 00:17:06.99\00:17:09.36 And by the way, that's a growing problem, 00:17:09.39\00:17:11.13 the war on drugs back in the '60s, 00:17:11.16\00:17:12.99 just say, no, it didn't work. 00:17:13.03\00:17:14.76 That's a growing problem outside and inside the church. 00:17:14.80\00:17:18.13 So as the ministry developed that was what we started doing. 00:17:18.17\00:17:22.67 And of course, on ministering to the same kind of 00:17:22.70\00:17:24.97 to the people, I was somebody like that. 00:17:25.01\00:17:27.78 So it's very easy to sympathize and have some compassion. 00:17:27.81\00:17:30.81 And by the way, in the Bible, you see, you know, 00:17:30.85\00:17:32.35 Mary has seven devils, the woman at the well, 00:17:32.38\00:17:34.72 John 4, had five husbands working on number six. 00:17:34.75\00:17:37.59 And Mark 5, the demoniac had a legion of devils 00:17:37.62\00:17:39.89 between his ears. 00:17:39.92\00:17:41.26 Those people, when they get turned around, 00:17:41.29\00:17:42.86 make the very best missionaries. 00:17:42.89\00:17:44.39 Can anybody say amen? Amen. 00:17:44.43\00:17:46.26 So I'm just going to give 00:17:46.29\00:17:47.63 just a short couple of stories about 00:17:47.66\00:17:49.36 what God has done 00:17:49.40\00:17:50.73 and this is recent like yesterday... 00:17:50.77\00:17:52.30 Before you do that... I'm sorry, Calvin. 00:17:52.33\00:17:53.97 We have one mic. 00:17:54.00\00:17:56.44 And I wound him up and now he's going. 00:17:56.47\00:18:00.78 Lew? Yes, sir. 00:18:00.81\00:18:02.14 Tell us the name of your organization, 00:18:02.18\00:18:03.98 you have told us about it. 00:18:04.01\00:18:05.51 But tell us where you're at and the name you said, 00:18:05.55\00:18:07.62 I haven't said it before. 00:18:07.65\00:18:08.98 Yeah, we're in a western part of Tennessee, 00:18:09.02\00:18:10.79 Butler Creek Health Education Center. 00:18:10.82\00:18:13.15 So we have a health center, small health center. 00:18:13.19\00:18:15.46 We have an educational program, 00:18:15.49\00:18:16.89 one year health evangelism training school 00:18:16.93\00:18:18.96 in organic farm. 00:18:18.99\00:18:20.66 We grow the food, food to feed our guests, 00:18:20.70\00:18:22.36 and to feed our patients. 00:18:22.40\00:18:24.83 But, you know, this morning, I got a phone call this morning 00:18:24.87\00:18:28.57 from a good friend named Travis. 00:18:28.60\00:18:30.17 He came to our program five weeks ago, crystal meth. 00:18:30.21\00:18:33.81 Everybody had told him, "You're a five time loser." 00:18:33.84\00:18:36.24 I say, "With Christ, you're a one time winner. 00:18:36.28\00:18:38.05 You're a new creature. 00:18:38.08\00:18:39.51 God can make a difference, God can change things." 00:18:39.55\00:18:42.15 In our program, you know, of these new start things, 00:18:42.18\00:18:45.95 the most important is number last 00:18:45.99\00:18:47.96 which is what? 00:18:47.99\00:18:49.59 Trusting God. 00:18:49.62\00:18:50.96 You know it, Romans 8:24 "We're saved by" what? 00:18:50.99\00:18:54.56 "Hope." 00:18:54.60\00:18:55.93 And to give people hope, 00:18:55.96\00:18:57.30 they come hopeless and helpless and to give them hope. 00:18:57.33\00:18:59.77 This is the best medicine we can give them. 00:18:59.80\00:19:01.30 Would you agree? 00:19:01.34\00:19:02.67 Proverbs 17:22, 00:19:02.70\00:19:04.04 "A merry heart doeth good like" What? 00:19:04.07\00:19:05.41 "Medicine." 00:19:05.44\00:19:06.78 And hope brings a merry heart. 00:19:06.81\00:19:08.54 So I got a call this morning, he came through a program, 00:19:08.58\00:19:11.01 God change that man's heart, 00:19:11.05\00:19:12.38 and he went back to Chattanooga. 00:19:12.41\00:19:14.02 Got a call from him this morning, had a baby. 00:19:14.05\00:19:17.25 He didn't have it, his friend had the baby, 00:19:17.29\00:19:20.22 eight pounds three ounces, the baby's healthy. 00:19:20.26\00:19:23.83 This friend of mine is now healthy, 00:19:23.86\00:19:25.26 his heart is healthy I expect, be going to first a marriage 00:19:25.29\00:19:28.00 and then a baptism very soon. 00:19:28.03\00:19:30.13 Now day before yesterday, 00:19:30.17\00:19:32.07 we had a lady Jerry leave our program. 00:19:32.10\00:19:34.07 I had their permission to use their names 00:19:34.10\00:19:35.67 and tell their story. 00:19:35.70\00:19:37.04 She came with debilitating depression, 00:19:37.07\00:19:38.81 completely pessimistic, completely negative, 00:19:38.84\00:19:42.11 saying she had no hope and she had no help. 00:19:42.14\00:19:44.45 And I knew she came to the right place, 00:19:44.48\00:19:46.11 not because of what we do but what God can do. 00:19:46.15\00:19:49.08 And God took that woman 00:19:49.12\00:19:50.45 and changed her life completely. 00:19:50.49\00:19:51.82 She walked out of here 00:19:51.85\00:19:53.19 yesterday of our program filled with hope, 00:19:53.22\00:19:56.26 filled with a positive attitude, 00:19:56.29\00:19:58.53 rejoicing in the Lord when? 00:19:58.56\00:20:01.23 Always, and again I say what? Rejoice. 00:20:01.26\00:20:03.93 And she found something to rejoice about, 00:20:03.97\00:20:06.30 she found her savior. 00:20:06.33\00:20:07.77 In spite of the weak human agents, 00:20:07.80\00:20:09.40 she found the savior. 00:20:09.44\00:20:11.51 When I met my wife, she is also a Buddhist. 00:20:11.54\00:20:14.64 We had a lady called 00:20:14.68\00:20:16.01 and she said, "You have a morning 00:20:16.04\00:20:17.65 and evening devotion on your program." 00:20:17.68\00:20:19.78 She said, "I'm a Buddhist and I don't wanna come." 00:20:19.81\00:20:22.52 I said, "Well, that's fine." 00:20:22.55\00:20:23.89 We offer it but it's optional. 00:20:23.92\00:20:26.86 So she came and as we did the first morning devotional, 00:20:26.89\00:20:30.49 she's standing out in the foyer 00:20:30.53\00:20:31.86 but I can tell, she's listening. 00:20:31.89\00:20:33.36 You know, the message 00:20:33.40\00:20:34.73 we have reaches past the outside 00:20:34.76\00:20:36.73 because Buddhist, Hindu, atheist, Jainist, 00:20:36.77\00:20:38.93 whatever you are, you have a body, 00:20:38.97\00:20:41.00 and you have health issues. 00:20:41.04\00:20:42.94 So when we say things like Proverbs 26:2, 00:20:42.97\00:20:45.37 the curse doesn't come without a cause, 00:20:45.41\00:20:47.24 that woman's ears perked up. 00:20:47.28\00:20:49.31 You can't prevent breast cancer unless you know the cause. 00:20:49.34\00:20:52.01 So we began to reason from cause and effect 00:20:52.05\00:20:54.18 and she was drawn into the worship. 00:20:54.22\00:20:57.65 She came to all our worship services 00:20:57.69\00:20:59.49 and when she left, that woman was baptized 00:20:59.52\00:21:01.92 way from the Buddhist 00:21:01.96\00:21:03.29 into the Seventh-day Adventist Church. 00:21:03.32\00:21:04.86 And just over, and over, and over, 00:21:04.89\00:21:06.90 we've run our facility. 00:21:06.93\00:21:08.26 From time to time, 00:21:08.30\00:21:09.63 we've run our facility from people that came in 00:21:09.66\00:21:11.83 and got an experience with God. 00:21:11.87\00:21:14.04 Now I think there's a stigma attached to, 00:21:14.07\00:21:16.37 you know, people that drink, smoke, and take drugs, 00:21:16.40\00:21:18.84 not in the eyes of God. 00:21:18.87\00:21:21.18 You agree, not in the eyes of God. 00:21:21.21\00:21:23.55 When God sees a person with those kind of issues, 00:21:23.58\00:21:25.88 He said, "That is a missionary in the making." 00:21:25.91\00:21:28.55 And when I turn that soul around, 00:21:28.58\00:21:30.35 He will do those things for Me 00:21:30.39\00:21:31.72 because He which is forgiven much, 00:21:31.75\00:21:33.36 he does what? 00:21:33.39\00:21:35.02 Come on, does what? Love as much. 00:21:35.06\00:21:37.49 And then one more, I got my 40 seconds. 00:21:37.53\00:21:40.83 We had a lady that came to our program a year ago, 00:21:40.86\00:21:43.83 heavy drinking problem. 00:21:43.87\00:21:46.10 She came, had a beautiful experience, 00:21:46.13\00:21:49.07 went back home, started drinking, 00:21:49.10\00:21:50.44 came back, beautiful experience, 00:21:50.47\00:21:52.07 went back home and started drinking, 00:21:52.11\00:21:53.44 came back for two programs, had a beautiful experience, 00:21:53.48\00:21:56.14 went back home and started drinking. 00:21:56.18\00:21:58.05 Came back to our program, had a beautiful experience, 00:21:58.08\00:22:00.38 and people began to say, 'It's never gonna work." 00:22:00.42\00:22:02.98 They do not know who Christ is 00:22:03.02\00:22:05.55 because if God is for you, Romans 8:31, what? 00:22:05.59\00:22:08.89 Who can be against you? 00:22:08.92\00:22:10.49 That woman went home and kept the experience. 00:22:10.53\00:22:14.40 She was married 00:22:14.43\00:22:15.86 and then baptized as a Seventh-day Adventist 00:22:15.90\00:22:17.87 and are close friends of our ministry. 00:22:17.90\00:22:19.80 I say, praise the Lord. Amen. 00:22:19.83\00:22:22.27 Thank you, Lew, before you leave... 00:22:22.30\00:22:24.21 Times up, yes. 00:22:27.74\00:22:29.91 Tell us if someone wants to help 00:22:29.94\00:22:31.91 or someone wants to contact you, 00:22:31.95\00:22:33.31 how can they do that? 00:22:33.35\00:22:34.88 I say number one, pray for us. 00:22:34.92\00:22:36.69 Number two, come by our booth and talk to us. 00:22:36.72\00:22:39.45 God has a plan and a place for everybody 00:22:39.49\00:22:42.06 including someone like me. 00:22:42.09\00:22:45.19 Yes. 00:22:45.23\00:22:47.03 Thank you so much, Lew. 00:22:47.06\00:22:51.80 Two forty something. 00:22:51.83\00:22:54.77 It's amazing that God can use all of us, no matter, 00:22:54.80\00:22:57.51 and he has quite a unique ministry. 00:22:57.54\00:22:59.34 Well, joining me now is the man 00:22:59.37\00:23:01.04 that actually needs no introduction. 00:23:01.08\00:23:02.41 You've just introduced yourself. 00:23:02.44\00:23:03.78 But for those who perhaps, maybe one or two, 00:23:03.81\00:23:07.55 who came in late, maybe you can say who you are 00:23:07.58\00:23:09.75 and where you're from. 00:23:09.78\00:23:11.72 Okay. My name is Steve Grabiner. 00:23:11.75\00:23:13.32 I'm president of OCI, Outpost Centers International, 00:23:13.36\00:23:17.06 currently coming from Tennessee. 00:23:17.09\00:23:18.79 Tell us just a little bit about OCI 00:23:18.83\00:23:20.90 and what you are doing right now? 00:23:54.90\00:23:57.17 Sure, about six or seven years ago, 00:23:57.20\00:23:59.70 the field president from the Israeli field contacted OCI 00:23:59.73\00:24:04.11 and some of its members, asking if we could come help, 00:24:04.14\00:24:07.04 try to do something in the country of Israel. 00:24:07.08\00:24:09.74 You know, in the early 1900s, 00:24:09.78\00:24:11.78 Ellen White had addressed a General Conference session 00:24:11.81\00:24:15.05 encouraging the church to do a specific work 00:24:15.08\00:24:17.75 for Jewish people found all around the world. 00:24:17.79\00:24:20.82 In fact, in the early 1900s, the church bought a building 00:24:20.86\00:24:23.43 outside the old city of Jerusalem. 00:24:23.46\00:24:26.49 And so we went... 00:24:26.53\00:24:28.90 some people from Herghelia in Romania, 00:24:28.93\00:24:30.93 and from ATR here in Tennessee, 00:24:30.97\00:24:34.00 and from Novi Obihody, a lifestyle center in Ukraine 00:24:34.04\00:24:37.17 and combined together to start doing some health work 00:24:37.21\00:24:40.21 in the country of Israel. 00:24:40.24\00:24:42.08 We have some pictures. 00:24:42.11\00:24:43.45 Perhaps... 00:24:43.48\00:24:44.81 are they pictures of the facility? 00:24:44.85\00:24:46.58 They are. 00:24:46.61\00:24:47.95 Just let me give a short background 00:24:47.98\00:24:49.95 before we get to pictures, is that okay, Cal? 00:24:49.98\00:24:51.55 And so for the past six years, 00:24:51.59\00:24:53.36 we've been looking for the right place 00:24:53.39\00:24:55.12 to start a lifestyle center in Israel 00:24:55.16\00:24:57.79 to minister to the secular Israeli. 00:24:57.83\00:25:00.10 And after six years of looking, and looking, and looking, 00:25:00.13\00:25:04.13 we finally found a beautiful place. 00:25:04.17\00:25:05.53 And maybe we can get a couple of those pictures up. 00:25:05.57\00:25:07.37 It's in a little town called Migdal. 00:25:07.40\00:25:10.77 It's really where Mary Magdalene was from. 00:25:10.81\00:25:14.31 You can see behind that hill little bit is Nazareth, 00:25:14.34\00:25:18.18 the area is, you know, very kind of Rome. 00:25:18.21\00:25:21.18 The next slide, please. 00:25:21.22\00:25:22.82 This is the picture of the house, 00:25:22.85\00:25:24.82 it's got five guest rooms attached to it, 00:25:24.85\00:25:27.89 plus four bedrooms in the main house. 00:25:27.92\00:25:30.53 Next one, thanks. 00:25:30.56\00:25:31.89 Here in the inside 00:25:31.93\00:25:33.26 where we'll be doing some health lectures. 00:25:33.29\00:25:35.73 This is one of the suites that guests will be staying. 00:25:35.76\00:25:41.30 Got nice place outside for lectures and health talks. 00:25:41.34\00:25:44.94 And it's right near the Sea of Galilee. 00:25:44.97\00:25:46.51 And on a very clear day, 00:25:46.54\00:25:47.88 you can see Mount Hermon in the distance. 00:25:47.91\00:25:49.61 Again it's a beautiful facility, 00:25:49.64\00:25:52.55 most of the land in Israel is 00:25:52.58\00:25:54.68 actually owned by the government, 00:25:54.72\00:25:56.69 and somehow lease to the different individuals. 00:25:56.72\00:25:59.15 Only about 6% is privately owned, 00:25:59.19\00:26:02.19 this land is privately owned. 00:26:02.22\00:26:04.69 Every other property we looked at 00:26:04.73\00:26:06.06 had some kind of legal issues to it, 00:26:06.09\00:26:08.66 or maybe a building wasn't built properly, 00:26:08.70\00:26:10.63 or it was built on the neighbor's property 00:26:10.67\00:26:12.83 or something like that, 00:26:12.87\00:26:14.57 but this property is really perfectly situated 00:26:14.60\00:26:18.27 for the work that we want to do. 00:26:18.31\00:26:20.84 There must be some miracles 00:26:20.88\00:26:22.48 that have been associated with you 00:26:22.51\00:26:24.61 acquiring this property, finding this property. 00:26:24.65\00:26:27.65 I'm sure that you'd probably like to tell us, 00:26:27.68\00:26:29.92 I don't know how much time we could go into all of that, 00:26:29.95\00:26:32.59 but is there maybe something that you could tell us 00:26:32.62\00:26:34.62 as far as how you were able to get this type of property? 00:26:34.66\00:26:38.26 It's been the result of a lot of prayer 00:26:38.29\00:26:40.60 and a lot of work. 00:26:40.63\00:26:41.96 Again, situation there in Israel is very unique 00:26:42.00\00:26:45.20 in terms of property, 00:26:45.23\00:26:47.47 little home that I own in Tennessee 00:26:47.50\00:26:50.54 would probably worth much more 00:26:50.57\00:26:52.21 than a million dollars in Israel. 00:26:52.24\00:26:53.64 Land is very expensive, 00:26:53.68\00:26:55.14 very hard to come across anything. 00:26:55.18\00:26:57.25 So for years, like as I said, a little team there 00:26:57.28\00:27:00.25 that have been working in leadership positions 00:27:00.28\00:27:02.65 in the local church have been scouring the countryside 00:27:02.68\00:27:05.62 from north toward the Lebanese border, 00:27:05.65\00:27:08.19 toward Nord, closer toward Jerusalem. 00:27:08.22\00:27:11.63 And again, finally the Lord directed us 00:27:11.66\00:27:13.40 through a series of providences 00:27:13.43\00:27:14.96 where, it was a friend of a friend 00:27:15.00\00:27:16.73 who heard of the place 00:27:16.77\00:27:18.10 told one of our church members there. 00:27:18.13\00:27:19.97 She went to see it and instantly felt, 00:27:20.00\00:27:22.20 "This is the right place." 00:27:22.24\00:27:24.67 And what's really exciting, when I went to visit 00:27:24.71\00:27:26.54 and Dr. Dan went to visit, we all had that sense, 00:27:26.57\00:27:29.28 "Now this is the right location." 00:27:29.31\00:27:31.85 The only problem was that 00:27:31.88\00:27:33.62 it cost about a million and a half, 00:27:33.65\00:27:35.35 it was very expensive, 00:27:35.38\00:27:36.72 but the Lord has really blessed, 00:27:36.75\00:27:38.09 a number of people have come together. 00:27:38.12\00:27:40.32 We've raised all the funds, we've purchased the property 00:27:40.36\00:27:42.89 and we take possession at the end of this month. 00:27:42.92\00:27:45.93 There are some unique challenges 00:27:45.96\00:27:49.03 in working in this particular type of environment, 00:27:49.06\00:27:51.10 a very secular environment. 00:27:51.13\00:27:53.27 How do you think that 00:27:53.30\00:27:55.04 you will be able to reach people 00:27:55.07\00:27:57.77 that have the secular mindset? 00:27:57.81\00:28:00.71 That's a great question. 00:28:00.74\00:28:02.08 And really, there is a two classes of people 00:28:02.11\00:28:05.01 we could say 00:28:05.05\00:28:06.38 among the Israelis particularly. 00:28:06.41\00:28:08.25 There are the Orthodox Jews 00:28:08.28\00:28:10.05 who are very devout and consecrated to their faith. 00:28:10.09\00:28:13.02 And then there is the secular Israelis 00:28:13.05\00:28:14.42 as you mentioned, 00:28:14.46\00:28:15.79 which is the vast majority of the population. 00:28:15.82\00:28:18.19 Our target is the secular Israeli, 00:28:18.23\00:28:21.56 and target is the wrong word, 00:28:21.60\00:28:23.06 the people we want to serve are the secular Israelis. 00:28:23.10\00:28:27.47 So that's gonna be our focus. 00:28:27.50\00:28:29.20 We're gonna invite people to come, 00:28:29.24\00:28:31.01 it's gonna be kind of like a bread 00:28:31.04\00:28:32.37 and breakfast to start. 00:28:32.41\00:28:33.74 We have permission to have people come, 00:28:33.78\00:28:35.61 we can give them health talks, we can feed them breakfast. 00:28:35.64\00:28:38.61 We can't feed them, we cannot feed them lunch 00:28:38.65\00:28:41.22 unless we do a cooking class together, 00:28:41.25\00:28:44.19 and then if we do a cooking class together, 00:28:44.22\00:28:46.02 they can eat what they cooked 00:28:46.05\00:28:48.22 and then we can do the same thing for supper. 00:28:48.26\00:28:50.23 And so we can have them come, we can do massage, 00:28:50.26\00:28:53.56 health lectures, and introduce them 00:28:53.60\00:28:55.50 to a healthy lifestyle that way. 00:28:55.53\00:28:57.73 But again, it will be a very gentle drawing 00:28:57.77\00:29:02.17 and winning of the people's hearts. 00:29:02.20\00:29:05.01 Seem to remember a quotation in some book, 00:29:05.04\00:29:06.94 some place about Christ method alone 00:29:06.98\00:29:09.38 will give us true success. 00:29:09.41\00:29:11.41 How Jesus mingled with people, won their confidence, 00:29:11.45\00:29:14.98 and then bathe them to follow Him. 00:29:15.02\00:29:17.19 And that's really gonna be our aim, 00:29:17.22\00:29:19.35 is to simply make friends, to serve the people there, 00:29:19.39\00:29:22.56 to show that we're real people. 00:29:22.59\00:29:24.89 And hopefully, 00:29:24.93\00:29:26.26 gently introduce them to their Messiah. 00:29:26.29\00:29:29.06 So we're looking at a very unique sermon in Jews 00:29:29.10\00:29:32.33 that will be reaching the people of Israel. 00:29:32.37\00:29:35.27 Something that we should've done all along, 00:29:35.30\00:29:37.34 and certainly something that the Lord has blessed you 00:29:37.37\00:29:41.01 with being able to acquire this property. 00:29:41.04\00:29:43.11 Now if someone wants to know more about this 00:29:43.14\00:29:45.21 or wants to help in some way, 00:29:45.25\00:29:47.38 how will they get in touch with you? 00:29:47.42\00:29:48.75 Well, you could... 00:29:48.78\00:29:50.12 for here you could come by the OCI booth, 00:29:50.15\00:29:51.65 Outpost Centers booth, booth number 616. 00:29:51.69\00:29:54.56 And when you hear about a health tour to Israel 00:29:54.59\00:29:58.89 where you could come see Israel 00:29:58.93\00:30:00.90 and as well come on a health vacation, 00:30:00.93\00:30:03.06 remember, that's us. 00:30:03.10\00:30:04.43 By the way, the name of the place is gonna be 00:30:04.47\00:30:06.53 called Migdalia. 00:30:06.57\00:30:08.34 Migdal means fortress or tower, lia of course, Yahweh, 00:30:08.37\00:30:12.94 Yahweh is my tower, my strength. 00:30:12.97\00:30:16.24 Migdalia, pray for us, pray for the work in Israel. 00:30:16.28\00:30:19.55 Thank you, Cal. Thank you, Steven. 00:30:19.58\00:30:21.22 Wasn't that powerful? 00:30:25.49\00:30:27.29 God is truly moving around the world 00:30:27.32\00:30:29.99 to prepare for His soon return. 00:30:30.03\00:30:31.89 Well, I have a question for you tonight. 00:30:31.93\00:30:34.30 How many of you have heard of a ministry called 00:30:34.33\00:30:36.20 Your Best Pathway to Health? 00:30:36.23\00:30:38.23 Anybody?
