Welcome to Part 2 of this enthralling session 00:00:16.23\00:00:21.30 where we have this panel here before us, 00:00:21.33\00:00:23.36 and we've heard some great questions, 00:00:23.39\00:00:25.39 and we've heard some great answers so far... yes? 00:00:25.43\00:00:27.61 And I would like to think that we've been challenged by this, 00:00:27.65\00:00:31.11 and the people will take something away 00:00:31.14\00:00:32.88 that they will apply to their lives 00:00:32.91\00:00:35.46 as we move forward in life as bold Christians. 00:00:35.49\00:00:38.89 Here's a question... 00:00:38.92\00:00:40.85 What do you do when you're losing faith in life? 00:00:40.88\00:00:46.50 What do you do when you feel like giving up? 00:00:46.53\00:00:49.49 Many people feel like giving up, 00:00:49.52\00:00:51.65 and that's one of the ploys of Satan that Satan uses. 00:00:51.68\00:00:55.47 So what do you do when you feel like giving up... 00:00:55.50\00:00:57.39 when you pray and Jesus is nowhere to be found. 00:00:57.42\00:01:01.39 What do you do when you're losing faith in life? 00:01:01.42\00:01:03.54 All right, so that's actually happened to me 00:01:03.57\00:01:07.00 where I felt like giving up... after I've known a lot of truth 00:01:07.03\00:01:12.42 like I know my Bible, at least I thought I did. 00:01:12.45\00:01:15.61 So one of things that you'll want to do is acknowledge, 00:01:15.64\00:01:19.04 you'll want to acknowledge your true condition. 00:01:19.07\00:01:20.79 You want to just be real with God. 00:01:20.82\00:01:22.95 You don't need to hide that, you just need to be 00:01:22.98\00:01:24.56 real with God... Father, I don't feel like 00:01:24.59\00:01:26.66 reading the Bible; I don't feel You near me. 00:01:26.69\00:01:29.68 You acknowledge that reality... okay? 00:01:29.71\00:01:32.17 And you talk to God like He is your friend. 00:01:32.20\00:01:35.60 Like He hears you... you tell Him what's going on. 00:01:35.63\00:01:39.47 And what I've seen from - what I've seen with my Father 00:01:39.50\00:01:43.36 in heaven - He's my Father... 00:01:43.39\00:01:45.18 What I've seen from Him is that when I'm honest with Him, 00:01:45.21\00:01:48.07 and when I let Him know my true feelings, 00:01:48.10\00:01:50.17 and what I'm going through, He, Himself, begins to 00:01:50.20\00:01:52.73 orchestrate either people or brings Bible texts to my mind, 00:01:52.76\00:01:58.22 or arranges circumstances so that I can be encouraged. 00:01:58.25\00:02:03.07 But one of the texts in the Bible says, 00:02:03.10\00:02:04.75 "Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the... what? 00:02:04.78\00:02:08.32 Word of God." So if your faith is failing in life, 00:02:08.35\00:02:12.07 you have your faith in the wrong place. 00:02:12.10\00:02:14.68 You shouldn't have your faith in men and what life is giving you 00:02:14.71\00:02:17.59 You need to have your faith based on the Word of God. 00:02:17.62\00:02:19.79 So if you see yourself losing faith, pick up your Bible, 00:02:19.82\00:02:22.90 begin to read it - knowing that God is seeking to speak to you. 00:02:22.93\00:02:26.56 I'll let someone else help me answer this question. 00:02:26.59\00:02:31.23 The Bible tells us in Hebrews 12:2, 00:02:31.26\00:02:35.10 "Looking unto Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith, 00:02:35.13\00:02:40.46 who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, 00:02:40.49\00:02:44.67 despising the shame, and has sat down 00:02:44.70\00:02:46.79 at the right hand of the throne of God." 00:02:46.82\00:02:48.73 Verse 1 tells us they were in a race. 00:02:48.76\00:02:51.14 Verse 2 tells us how the race can be finished in our lives. 00:02:51.17\00:02:54.72 And the bottom line... "Looking unto Jesus," 00:02:54.75\00:02:57.26 but specifically, looking at Him, 00:02:57.29\00:02:59.32 the One that endured the cross, and then overcame it. 00:02:59.35\00:03:02.26 And so, we all experience those dark points in our life 00:03:02.29\00:03:06.89 where we feel like giving up 00:03:06.92\00:03:08.31 It's a Garden of Gethsemane experience. 00:03:08.34\00:03:11.15 And as we just look upon Jesus in that garden, 00:03:11.18\00:03:13.91 He felt like giving up, He said, 00:03:13.94\00:03:15.81 "Father, if it is possible, let the cup pass from Me." 00:03:15.84\00:03:17.57 He felt like tapping out, and He could have easily done it. 00:03:17.60\00:03:20.07 He could have easily aborted the mission 00:03:20.10\00:03:22.18 to leave us to perish in our own sins. 00:03:22.21\00:03:24.34 His humanity did not feel like drinking the cup. 00:03:24.37\00:03:27.60 but He didn't live by feelings, but by faith, 00:03:27.63\00:03:29.90 and He concluded the prayer by saying, 00:03:29.93\00:03:31.27 "Nevertheless, not as I will, but Thy will be done," 00:03:31.30\00:03:34.55 and He went forward even though He did not feel like it. 00:03:34.58\00:03:36.88 And so, when we don't feel it, we keep our eyes on Jesus, 00:03:36.91\00:03:40.41 and realize, "Wow, the great King of the universe, 00:03:40.44\00:03:43.75 the Creator of all things, He did not let me go. 00:03:43.78\00:03:47.83 He did not turn His back from me. 00:03:47.86\00:03:50.72 He went all the way to the cross, and He said, 00:03:50.75\00:03:53.57 "It is finished at the cross." 00:03:53.60\00:03:55.87 He did that for me." 00:03:55.90\00:03:57.32 If He did it for me, that love, as I mentioned before, 00:03:57.35\00:04:01.30 awakens a love response from our hearts. 00:04:01.33\00:04:03.71 And it says in 2 Corinthians 5:14, 00:04:03.74\00:04:06.20 "The love of Christ compels us." 00:04:06.23\00:04:09.62 That word "compel" means to motivate or to constrain, 00:04:09.65\00:04:12.29 or to push us forward, even though our feelings are 00:04:12.32\00:04:15.04 going totally against it, we gotta keep moving forward, 00:04:15.07\00:04:18.01 and that's what God's people will have in the last days. 00:04:18.04\00:04:21.10 In Revelation 14:12, it says that "they have the faith 00:04:21.13\00:04:24.03 of Jesus" - a faith that keeps us moving forward. 00:04:24.06\00:04:26.86 So practically, what does that mean? 00:04:26.89\00:04:28.75 Go back and visit Gethsemane. Go back and visit Calvary. 00:04:28.78\00:04:32.67 Read those chapters in the "Desire of Ages." 00:04:32.70\00:04:35.26 Let the Holy Spirit minister to your heart to realize that 00:04:35.29\00:04:39.50 while we were sleeping on Jesus in Gethsemane, 00:04:39.53\00:04:42.18 while the disciples were sleeping, 00:04:42.21\00:04:43.26 He was praying and He was praying for us. 00:04:43.29\00:04:45.34 And that will motivate us to push forward 00:04:45.37\00:04:47.30 when we feel like letting go. 00:04:47.33\00:04:49.21 Thank you... Today, we turn on the radio, 00:04:49.24\00:04:51.27 and we hear "love, love, songs about love, baby I love you, 00:04:51.30\00:04:54.94 baby I love you and love, love, love," 00:04:54.97\00:04:56.47 and there's so much love, it makes you wonder, 00:04:56.50\00:04:58.25 you know - what's going on in the world because 00:04:58.28\00:04:59.64 there is so much violence as well. 00:04:59.67\00:05:01.22 And the question is... If God is love, 00:05:01.25\00:05:03.77 how can you explain the wars, and killings of the Israelites 00:05:03.80\00:05:09.77 against unbelievers in the Old Testament? 00:05:09.80\00:05:12.02 How does this violence contrast with the God of love? 00:05:12.05\00:05:19.20 Appreciate that question, I think that's probably 00:05:19.23\00:05:22.50 one of the most pertinent questions that Christians 00:05:22.53\00:05:25.29 get asked and it's probably the 00:05:25.32\00:05:26.48 one that's most difficult to answer. 00:05:26.51\00:05:29.40 For a period of my life, I grew up in a war-torn 00:05:29.43\00:05:32.37 country of Lebanon - when I was young and have, yes, 00:05:32.40\00:05:37.28 seen the atrocities of war, seen the hurt that it brings, 00:05:37.31\00:05:41.69 and leads you to ask the question, 00:05:41.72\00:05:43.92 "Why is this happening?" 00:05:43.95\00:05:45.43 And we know from Bible prophecy that wars are going to be 00:05:45.46\00:05:49.78 taking place in the last days. 00:05:49.81\00:05:52.73 More and more, we're going to see nations 00:05:52.76\00:05:54.35 rise against each other. 00:05:54.38\00:05:55.50 When we look at the Old Testament, 00:05:55.54\00:05:59.40 the question being asked is, how could God allow 00:05:59.43\00:06:03.48 the Israelites to go to war, and the question then implies 00:06:03.51\00:06:09.83 that it's only the Israelites that God used when going to war. 00:06:09.86\00:06:15.21 There's actually many examples of God using other nations 00:06:15.24\00:06:19.76 to bring Israel back to Him. 00:06:19.79\00:06:23.69 He instructed other nations such as Babylon to come and take 00:06:23.72\00:06:30.21 siege of Israel and take them back to Babylon 00:06:30.24\00:06:32.48 because they were worshipping idols; 00:06:32.51\00:06:34.78 they had totally broken the covenant agreement... 00:06:34.81\00:06:38.34 So it's not only the Israelites that were used, 00:06:38.37\00:06:41.41 but other nations have been used 00:06:41.44\00:06:43.98 by God when it comes to war. 00:06:44.01\00:06:48.08 The other thing is - a primary example that is 00:06:48.11\00:06:51.37 used is the Canaanites and the war that happened 00:06:51.40\00:06:55.26 with the Canaanites. 00:06:55.29\00:06:56.87 As we look at that, we know that in 1 Samuel 11:1-3, 00:06:56.90\00:07:01.94 you can write that down as a reference. 00:07:01.97\00:07:05.14 Unlike the practices of other nations... 00:07:05.17\00:07:08.42 Other nations if they wanted to have a war with you, 00:07:08.45\00:07:10.85 they would just come and destroy you. 00:07:10.88\00:07:13.00 Jesus actually told them or Yahweh, himself, actually 00:07:13.03\00:07:18.61 said that if you are having war with another nation, 00:07:18.64\00:07:23.01 you need to give them the opportunity to surrender. 00:07:23.04\00:07:25.82 No other nation practiced that. 00:07:25.85\00:07:27.73 It was only the Israelites that practiced that because of 00:07:27.76\00:07:30.74 the command given in 1 Samuel 11:1-3. 00:07:30.77\00:07:34.89 The reason that God sanctioned destruction is found in 00:07:34.92\00:07:41.07 Deuteronomy 20:16-18 00:07:41.10\00:07:44.50 This is what He says: "Otherwise, they will teach 00:07:44.53\00:07:47.50 you to follow all the detestable things they do 00:07:47.53\00:07:51.38 in worshipping their gods, and you will sin 00:07:51.41\00:07:54.83 against the Lord your God." 00:07:54.86\00:07:56.89 What detestable things were other nations doing? 00:07:56.92\00:08:00.27 Well, when we study that they were worshipping gods like 00:08:00.30\00:08:03.81 Amalek who believed in child sacrifice... 00:08:03.84\00:08:11.23 The Bible talks many times of children passing 00:08:11.26\00:08:15.31 through the fire because of these pagan gods. 00:08:15.34\00:08:18.54 The things that other nations were doing was 00:08:18.57\00:08:21.67 not human - it was inhumane. 00:08:21.70\00:08:23.95 And for God to just allow that and watch that to happen, 00:08:23.98\00:08:28.16 would say something about the God we worship... 00:08:28.19\00:08:31.90 would say something about His character. 00:08:31.93\00:08:34.75 God cannot see innocent people dying and watch that, 00:08:34.78\00:08:39.90 and, therefore, do nothing about it. 00:08:39.93\00:08:42.26 Secondly, it is important because God chose Israel 00:08:42.29\00:08:47.86 to be a revelation of God's character. 00:08:47.89\00:08:50.45 The task of Israel was to make God known to other nations. 00:08:50.48\00:08:55.56 And the way they made Him known was to let them know 00:08:55.59\00:08:59.23 what His will was, and in that, they had to practice and 00:08:59.26\00:09:05.08 believe and teach what God said. 00:09:05.11\00:09:07.65 As a result, sometimes war did take place... 00:09:07.68\00:09:11.37 Was it God's ideal? No 00:09:11.40\00:09:13.67 God is not a God of destruction, He's a God of creation. 00:09:13.70\00:09:17.03 And many times, God did things that were not necessarily 00:09:17.06\00:09:21.94 what His ideal will was, but He allowed that to take place. 00:09:21.97\00:09:27.40 Another thing, these wars happened under a theocracy 00:09:27.43\00:09:31.45 not a democracy. 00:09:31.48\00:09:33.83 A theocracy is God was in charge. 00:09:33.86\00:09:36.24 God knows when the cup of iniquity for a nation is filled. 00:09:36.27\00:09:40.43 We cannot make that decision, we cannot, in 2015, 00:09:40.46\00:09:44.20 just invade another country and say, 00:09:44.23\00:09:46.14 "Your cup of iniquity is filled, 00:09:46.17\00:09:48.02 we're going to make war with you." 00:09:48.05\00:09:49.85 It was on the theocratic system that these wars took place. 00:09:49.88\00:09:54.08 May I just quickly add... Very quickly - yes 00:09:54.11\00:09:57.15 As he was saying about the cup of iniquity... 00:09:57.18\00:09:59.57 And that is when human beings turns into a beast, 00:09:59.60\00:10:03.72 and when humanity is totally gone, 00:10:03.75\00:10:06.17 and only God knows when that happens... 00:10:06.20\00:10:08.10 And in His foreknowledge, to the children of Israel, 00:10:08.13\00:10:12.00 actually in the time of Abraham, 00:10:12.03\00:10:13.31 He said I know this is going to happen in that much time, 00:10:13.34\00:10:17.29 and that's exactly when it happened, 00:10:17.32\00:10:21.08 3-1/2 centuries later on. 00:10:21.11\00:10:23.39 They came to that stage that they no longer were even humans, 00:10:23.42\00:10:27.56 and God says, the cup of iniquity has been filled, 00:10:27.59\00:10:31.63 and they are no longer humans even. 00:10:31.66\00:10:33.85 So we look around the world today and we see 00:10:33.88\00:10:36.32 the natural compassion of mankind - 00:10:36.35\00:10:38.40 Where is it? It's lost. 00:10:38.43\00:10:40.48 In the past, we, as a church used to teach all the 00:10:40.51\00:10:44.61 fundamental beliefs before people were baptized, 00:10:44.64\00:10:48.08 but it seems that this is being relaxed in many churches here. 00:10:48.11\00:10:53.98 Why? 00:10:54.01\00:10:56.49 I can't say why other people do things... 00:10:56.52\00:11:00.63 Perhaps it's because it seems to indicate in the Bible 00:11:00.66\00:11:05.67 that during the time of the early church, 00:11:05.70\00:11:08.36 people were baptized right away. 00:11:08.39\00:11:10.77 For example, on the Day of Pentecost, 00:11:10.80\00:11:12.39 they heard a sermon, they were baptized. 00:11:12.42\00:11:14.19 The Ethiopian eunuch baptized almost immediately. 00:11:14.22\00:11:17.81 And so I think we look at these stories surfacely, 00:11:17.84\00:11:20.58 and we make them an example or a precedent for 00:11:20.61\00:11:25.14 just baptizing people right away 00:11:25.17\00:11:27.33 without clearing them thoroughly. 00:11:27.36\00:11:29.33 But when you look at those examples, 00:11:29.36\00:11:31.02 the people on the Day of Pentecost, 00:11:31.05\00:11:32.70 they had background, they were there worshipping 00:11:32.73\00:11:35.11 the true God; they were there at the temple for the feast, 00:11:35.14\00:11:38.88 as well as the Ethiopian eunuch. 00:11:38.91\00:11:40.64 He was coming from the feast; he was coming from 00:11:40.67\00:11:43.21 Jerusalem, the place of worship; he was reading the scrolls, 00:11:43.24\00:11:45.75 and when you look up at the baptism that they had, 00:11:45.78\00:11:49.94 they were baptized under the Present Truth of that day 00:11:49.97\00:11:54.08 there during the Day of Pentecost. 00:11:54.11\00:11:55.79 But today, there's a different Present Truth, 00:11:55.82\00:11:58.05 and so the Biblical models that individuals ought to be 00:11:58.08\00:12:02.64 baptized into Christ under the specific truths that are 00:12:02.67\00:12:07.34 relevant and present for that day and age. 00:12:07.37\00:12:10.10 The Present Truth for their day is that the Messiah 00:12:10.13\00:12:13.17 was crucified, and that was a radical truth during that time, 00:12:13.20\00:12:17.01 to believe in the cross, that the Greeks said it's 00:12:17.04\00:12:19.90 foolishness; the Jews looked upon it as a stumbling block, 00:12:19.93\00:12:22.20 and so being baptized under the Present Truth 00:12:22.23\00:12:25.17 of the sacrifice of Christ was really a testing truth. 00:12:25.20\00:12:28.46 And so those who were baptized, you can see the level of 00:12:28.49\00:12:32.19 commitment based upon the testing truth of that day. 00:12:32.22\00:12:37.24 Today, the cross is not so much a testing truth. 00:12:37.27\00:12:40.39 It is something that we all understand, and so the Bible 00:12:40.42\00:12:45.60 makes it clear in the book of Matthew 28- Jesus said, 00:12:45.63\00:12:48.37 "Go ye therefore teach all nations, baptizing them 00:12:48.40\00:12:52.28 in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit, 00:12:52.31\00:12:54.20 and then teaching them to observe all things." 00:12:54.23\00:12:56.51 And so, we must be taught first, then be baptized, 00:12:56.54\00:13:00.61 and then we'll be taught some more, 00:13:00.64\00:13:01.94 which shows that we don't have to wait until people 00:13:01.97\00:13:04.51 have a perfect understanding before they're baptized, 00:13:04.54\00:13:06.96 but they ought to have an intellectual understanding 00:13:06.99\00:13:10.88 before they're baptized because what is baptism? 00:13:10.91\00:13:13.46 It's an outward expression of an inward experience. 00:13:13.49\00:13:15.64 The water doesn't change a person. 00:13:15.67\00:13:17.44 We don't put Clorox or bleach in the water to clean people up. 00:13:17.47\00:13:20.52 It's just a symbol of what the Holy Spirit is 00:13:20.55\00:13:22.26 already doing in their lives, and so we need to make sure 00:13:22.29\00:13:24.77 that as people are baptized, they're not just baptized 00:13:24.80\00:13:28.82 into the Christ, but also into the body of Christ. 00:13:28.85\00:13:32.21 And the body of Christ has received a specific message 00:13:32.24\00:13:37.17 for this day, and so whenever we do evangelist meetings, 00:13:37.20\00:13:41.96 we should make sure that we are thoroughly helping 00:13:41.99\00:13:45.66 people understand it... because when you think about it, 00:13:45.69\00:13:47.53 when a baby is born prematurely, they are at greater risk of 00:13:47.56\00:13:51.94 infant mortality. 00:13:51.97\00:13:53.69 And when we baptize people prematurely, 00:13:53.72\00:13:56.18 they are at greater risk of falling away afterwards. 00:13:56.21\00:13:58.94 And so the more preparation beforehand, 00:13:58.97\00:14:00.90 the more successful they will be afterwards. 00:14:00.93\00:14:03.63 I see a lot of mikes coming here to get ready to answer... 00:14:03.66\00:14:05.73 Yes, we've only got 31 minutes 00:14:05.76\00:14:07.30 left for about 20 questions. Yes, Tapi... 00:14:07.34\00:14:09.23 I'm not answering the question, I just wanted to correct it. 00:14:09.26\00:14:12.41 Because it says "here," and the Americans answered it. 00:14:12.44\00:14:17.18 I was hoping one of the Aussie boys would answer this time. 00:14:17.21\00:14:19.44 I just wanted to say... before you answer pastor, 00:14:19.47\00:14:22.01 I just wanted to say that sometimes we make a 00:14:22.04\00:14:26.22 blanket judgment because the question says "here." 00:14:26.25\00:14:29.73 So it gives the impression that in Australia people get 00:14:29.76\00:14:33.96 baptized without - then we are fixing that. 00:14:33.99\00:14:38.41 I think this person might have observed, in one place, 00:14:38.44\00:14:43.77 this happening. Correct 00:14:43.80\00:14:45.31 It does not mean that there are 7,000 Adventists 00:14:45.34\00:14:49.72 that have not bowed down their knee to Baal. 00:14:49.75\00:14:52.47 So when we are answering, I just wanted to correct that... 00:14:52.50\00:14:55.10 we are encouraging those who don't do it, 00:14:55.13\00:14:57.86 to be like my friend, Pastor Zen, 00:14:57.89\00:15:00.07 who gives Bible studies before he baptizes. 00:15:00.10\00:15:04.49 Pastor Zen is not the only one... 00:15:09.66\00:15:12.96 You missed #11, by the way, I don't know if you knew that. 00:15:12.99\00:15:15.96 Moving on... Ellen White talks about the 00:15:15.99\00:15:23.13 Omega of Apostasy in the last days. 00:15:23.16\00:15:26.50 In your opinion, what is the Omega of Apostasy? 00:15:26.53\00:15:32.12 Anyone want a shot? Take the mike off him please. 00:15:36.38\00:15:39.50 The Omega of Apostasy is referred to, and to understand 00:15:39.53\00:15:45.46 the omega, you've got to understand the alpha 00:15:45.49\00:15:47.51 where it was first used, and Ellen White uses that 00:15:47.54\00:15:51.09 when referring to John Harvey Kellogg's book 00:15:51.12\00:15:56.19 that he wrote, talking about the Alpha of Apostasy, 00:15:56.22\00:16:00.57 and he wrote a book called, "Living Temple." 00:16:00.60\00:16:03.78 That's when she kind of uses that statement the most, 00:16:03.81\00:16:06.62 and in that book, "Living Temple," 00:16:06.65\00:16:08.41 Kellogg has certain teachings in there that imply 00:16:08.44\00:16:14.14 almost like a pantheistic view of God. 00:16:14.17\00:16:19.63 And, as you look at that, it was as she saw the seed of 00:16:19.66\00:16:24.15 that being planted, this alpha of this pantheistic view 00:16:24.18\00:16:28.25 of God that God is everywhere and is in us and in a sense, 00:16:28.28\00:16:32.12 we are God, she saw that this could lead to an omega 00:16:32.15\00:16:36.51 which is the fact that if God is a pantheistic God, 00:16:36.54\00:16:41.39 then all our thoughts, all our intentions, 00:16:41.42\00:16:43.65 all our behaviors would, therefore, be holy, 00:16:43.68\00:16:46.31 and that all our actions would, therefore, be holy; 00:16:46.34\00:16:49.89 therefore eliminated sin. 00:16:49.92\00:16:52.19 And so, she also says that this "Omega of Apostasy" 00:16:52.22\00:16:56.33 will arise just before Jesus comes again, 00:16:56.36\00:16:59.63 so this idea of our thoughts, our intentions being totally 00:16:59.66\00:17:05.08 holy and not subject, therefore, to the Word of God to 00:17:05.11\00:17:10.95 see whether what we believe is true or not, she describes 00:17:10.98\00:17:14.81 as the "Omega of Apostasy." 00:17:14.84\00:17:17.34 I just want to add a little bit to that 00:17:17.37\00:17:20.37 To me, this is a very serious question... 00:17:20.40\00:17:22.95 I believe that if it's not here already, we are like real close, 00:17:22.98\00:17:29.36 which means everybody should be 00:17:29.39\00:17:30.91 grabbing real tight to Jesus right now... 00:17:30.95\00:17:33.25 I'm just going to read a quotation to you 00:17:33.28\00:17:35.55 that I find to be very interesting which I think 00:17:35.58\00:17:37.63 is a result of the Omega... 00:17:37.66\00:17:39.31 You know the Omega doesn't just arrive, it grows, you understand 00:17:39.34\00:17:43.58 But it says, "The enemy of souls has sought to bring in the 00:17:43.61\00:17:46.10 supposition that a great reformation 00:17:46.13\00:17:48.09 was to take place among 00:17:48.12\00:17:49.55 Seventh-day Adventists, and that this reformation 00:17:49.58\00:17:52.34 would consist in giving up the doctrines which stand 00:17:52.37\00:17:56.49 as the pillars of our faith, and engaging in a process 00:17:56.52\00:17:59.73 of reorganization; were this reformation to take place, 00:17:59.76\00:18:03.82 what would result? 00:18:03.85\00:18:05.22 The principles of truth that God in His wisdom has given 00:18:05.73\00:18:10.10 to the remnant church, would be discarded. 00:18:10.13\00:18:12.59 Our religion would be changed. 00:18:12.62\00:18:15.32 The fundamental principles to have sustained the work 00:18:15.48\00:18:17.84 for the last 50 years, now is more than that 00:18:17.87\00:18:21.27 will be accounted as error, 00:18:21.30\00:18:22.80 a new organization will be established. 00:18:22.83\00:18:25.62 Books of a new order would be written. 00:18:25.66\00:18:28.38 A system... pay attention, a system of intellectual 00:18:28.41\00:18:32.62 philosophy would be introduced. 00:18:32.66\00:18:34.61 The founders of this system would go into the cities 00:18:34.99\00:18:37.50 and do a wonderful work... 00:18:37.54\00:18:38.57 and I don't think that's far from now... 00:18:38.61\00:18:40.03 The Sabbath, of course, will be likely regarded as 00:18:40.07\00:18:43.00 also the God who created it. 00:18:43.04\00:18:44.82 Nothing would be allowed to 00:18:44.86\00:18:46.71 stand in the way of this new movement. 00:18:46.75\00:18:48.77 The leaders would teach that virtue is better than vice, 00:18:48.80\00:18:52.27 but God, being removed, they would place their dependence 00:18:52.31\00:18:55.48 on human power which, without God, is worthless. 00:18:55.52\00:18:59.22 Their foundation will be built on sand, and storm 00:18:59.25\00:19:02.92 and tempest would sweep away the structure." 00:19:02.95\00:19:05.67 Brothers and sisters, this is a serious thing, 00:19:05.71\00:19:07.92 not a light thing, and I believe, like I said, 00:19:07.95\00:19:10.01 we're very close, if we're not already there, in the time 00:19:10.04\00:19:13.01 of the shaking, this Omega raises its ugly head 00:19:13.04\00:19:16.46 and I think it's so smart, it adapts... it adapts to Australia 00:19:16.49\00:19:20.26 it adapts in America, it adapts to wherever 00:19:20.30\00:19:23.16 the Advent people are. 00:19:23.20\00:19:24.61 The devil does not want this message to get to the world, 00:19:24.65\00:19:28.07 not only in proclamation, but in demonstration. 00:19:28.10\00:19:31.13 Brothers and sisters, we need to pray... Amen 00:19:31.16\00:19:32.80 So leading on from that question is this... 00:19:32.84\00:19:36.96 Why is it so important that we not only believe 00:19:37.00\00:19:41.08 in a triune godhead, but we understand it? 00:19:41.12\00:19:44.22 What's so serious about it? 00:19:44.25\00:19:46.34 I had my suspicions that the questions of the 00:19:46.38\00:19:51.97 Omega of Apostasy is attached to the issue of the godhead. 00:19:52.00\00:19:58.68 I'm sort of, these days, for the sake of those that are not 00:19:58.71\00:20:03.00 comfortable, I'm no more using the word "trinity." 00:20:03.03\00:20:05.87 I have no problem with it, but for the sake of others, 00:20:05.90\00:20:08.28 I'll just use the word, "godhead." 00:20:08.31\00:20:10.60 It's sort of a question that cannot be answered, 00:20:10.63\00:20:15.38 so what I'm going to do is, on the website, 00:20:15.41\00:20:17.56 I'm going to post a comprehensible answer 00:20:17.59\00:20:20.68 on the divinity of Christ, the confusion about His Sonship 00:20:20.71\00:20:26.48 that is based on the covenant between God and David 00:20:26.51\00:20:31.01 that gives language to when David becomes king, 00:20:31.04\00:20:36.02 God says, "I've adopted you today, I've begotten 00:20:36.05\00:20:38.59 you as My son," and that then transfers to Jesus 00:20:38.62\00:20:41.58 in the New Testament, as Jesus resurrects, 00:20:41.61\00:20:44.04 I'll give you text... as Jesus resurrects, 00:20:44.07\00:20:46.16 and He becomes the King in heaven, 00:20:46.19\00:20:48.14 God says, "Today I've begotten you," and the texts are: 00:20:48.17\00:20:55.72 Acts 13:33, Romans 1:3-4, Hebrews 1:3-6, that's in short. 00:20:55.75\00:21:00.90 Then coming to the Holy Spirit, is the Holy Spirit a person? 00:21:00.94\00:21:06.05 That's part of this. Well, starting from the Bible, 00:21:06.08\00:21:10.84 the word, the Spirit "hovered," 00:21:10.87\00:21:13.78 that word "hover," whichever way you pronounce it, 00:21:13.81\00:21:18.76 when you compare the way 00:21:18.79\00:21:21.86 it is used in the Old Testament, it's never used to refer to an 00:21:21.89\00:21:27.19 inanimate thing. 00:21:27.22\00:21:28.46 It is actually a living thing that can do that... 00:21:28.49\00:21:31.65 like an eagle, like a human being. 00:21:31.68\00:21:34.68 If you go to the book of Ezekiel, the Spirit picks 00:21:34.71\00:21:38.79 Ezekiel by the locks of his head and moves with him. 00:21:38.82\00:21:43.06 When you get into the New Testament, 00:21:43.09\00:21:44.66 the Holy Spirit guides, teaches, has emotions, 00:21:44.69\00:21:49.32 but lastly, I want to quote Ellen White... 00:21:49.35\00:21:53.05 would you allow me to do that? 00:21:53.08\00:21:55.41 This quote is very important because there are many 00:21:55.44\00:21:58.23 quotes I could quote, but I just want to quote one 00:21:58.26\00:22:00.47 because it's written especially from Avondale. 00:22:00.50\00:22:03.89 It's found in "Manuscripts." 00:22:03.92\00:22:06.53 It's talking about what was happening at a camp meeting. 00:22:06.56\00:22:09.99 I will start where - here. 00:22:10.02\00:22:11.66 "This is the reason we have established a school here. 00:22:11.69\00:22:16.55 The Lord instructed us that this was the place 00:22:16.58\00:22:19.62 in which we should locate. 00:22:19.65\00:22:21.52 We have had every reason to think that 00:22:21.55\00:22:24.73 we are in the right place. 00:22:24.76\00:22:26.02 We have been brought together as a school, 00:22:26.05\00:22:29.63 and we need to realize that the Holy Spirit, 00:22:29.66\00:22:33.11 who is as much a person as God is a person, 00:22:33.14\00:22:37.48 is walking through these grounds, 00:22:37.51\00:22:39.80 and seen by human beings." 00:22:39.83\00:22:42.00 I don't think she could get any clearer than that. 00:22:42.03\00:22:45.29 Amen indeed. 00:22:45.32\00:22:47.11 What sort of strategies do you have when it comes to 00:22:47.14\00:22:51.78 forgiving those who have hurt you the most? 00:22:51.81\00:22:57.25 Well this is a tough question, and it touches all of us, 00:22:57.28\00:23:03.80 and it's a painful process, and it's very personal 00:23:03.83\00:23:10.75 because pain is the only thing that is so personal 00:23:10.78\00:23:13.69 that we cannot share with others. 00:23:13.72\00:23:14.99 We can share thinking with others, 00:23:15.02\00:23:17.33 but we cannot share our pain 00:23:17.36\00:23:19.64 because it is uniquely personal. 00:23:19.67\00:23:21.52 We can share it only with God because God felt our pain. 00:23:21.55\00:23:24.05 He is the only one who knows the color and dept of pain, etc. 00:23:24.08\00:23:28.84 So, how do we forgive? 00:23:28.87\00:23:32.78 #1- We constantly focus on the Bible as you can see. 00:23:32.81\00:23:36.52 One text that comes to my mind is in the book of Genesis 41 00:23:36.55\00:23:42.42 when Joseph comes finally to the point and as he gets 00:23:42.45\00:23:48.55 his first son and then he gets his second son, 00:23:48.58\00:23:52.57 and when he gets his first son, he calls him by a certain name 00:23:52.60\00:23:56.38 and he said, "God caused me to forget." 00:23:56.41\00:24:00.87 And that is very powerful because think about it 00:24:00.90\00:24:04.60 just for a second... 00:24:04.63\00:24:06.16 Forget what? Forget the pain and he goes on, 00:24:06.19\00:24:09.66 forget the pain of the house of my father. 00:24:09.69\00:24:12.63 What was the pain? There was so much pain 00:24:12.66\00:24:15.37 inflicted on him as a young boy by his brothers, 00:24:15.40\00:24:18.70 and you could count so many painful moments. 00:24:18.73\00:24:23.77 So he says, "God caused me to forget." 00:24:23.80\00:24:27.28 See what happens... when somebody hurts you, 00:24:27.31\00:24:30.98 when somebody hurts you, there is a pain that is there, 00:24:31.01\00:24:37.31 and you have both mental picture and emotional 00:24:37.34\00:24:40.70 support behind that picture. 00:24:40.73\00:24:42.19 So when you remember the picture, immediately, 00:24:42.22\00:24:45.42 the feeling associated with it comes. 00:24:45.45\00:24:48.37 So how do you distinguish, how do you separate between 00:24:48.40\00:24:52.99 the mental picture of that painful moment, 00:24:53.02\00:24:56.78 and as well as that emotion, that immediately kicks in. 00:24:56.81\00:25:01.54 It's just almost impossible without the power of God 00:25:01.57\00:25:04.55 in your life, and it only can happen 00:25:04.58\00:25:07.31 through the process of where you say, "I forgive." 00:25:07.34\00:25:10.42 But see, when that forgiveness happens with Joseph, 00:25:10.45\00:25:14.53 it happens in the absence of his brothers. 00:25:14.56\00:25:18.45 So that's the very first forgiveness. 00:25:18.48\00:25:20.31 So these are the steps: 00:25:20.34\00:25:21.53 You forgive in the absence of a person that has hurt you. 00:25:21.56\00:25:27.07 That in itself is painful, but it will bring a 00:25:27.10\00:25:32.21 forgetting eventually. 00:25:32.24\00:25:33.91 Even though the process is long, it took him so long to forget... 00:25:33.94\00:25:38.79 But then what God does, and that's the beauty of it, 00:25:38.82\00:25:42.82 God arranges in His providence a moment when it is not only 00:25:42.85\00:25:47.57 done in the absence, but it is done in their presence, 00:25:47.60\00:25:52.84 and then eventually come, and that's when he forgives 00:25:52.88\00:25:59.46 even in their presence, but these steps are hard, 00:25:59.49\00:26:04.62 and this last one will be the hardest. 00:26:04.65\00:26:06.87 What you often do when somebody hurts you, 00:26:06.90\00:26:08.72 you make a caricature of that person. 00:26:08.75\00:26:12.27 And in that process, that caricature has to change, 00:26:12.30\00:26:15.65 and that person just is as fallen as you are. 00:26:15.68\00:26:18.17 So I just try to share some of the steps, 00:26:18.20\00:26:21.56 and Marcha, I probably have not done all. 00:26:21.59\00:26:23.41 You can help me on this one too. 00:26:23.44\00:26:25.19 Oh well I just wanted to add to that that it's very 00:26:25.22\00:26:30.20 difficult to forgive if we don't understand 00:26:30.23\00:26:32.19 how Christ has forgiven us. 00:26:32.22\00:26:34.61 And so when we see the cross and see the enormity of 00:26:34.64\00:26:37.77 what He had done for the sin of every single person, 00:26:37.80\00:26:40.71 whether they are the offender or the offended, 00:26:40.74\00:26:44.08 and He gives you a glimpse of that, 00:26:44.11\00:26:47.09 then what happens is, He gives you the divine gift 00:26:47.12\00:26:50.41 which is found in Acts 5:31 which is a divine gift... 00:26:50.44\00:26:57.53 "forgiveness." 00:26:57.56\00:26:59.02 And that divine gift, this miracle that allows you 00:26:59.05\00:27:02.19 to wear His eyes and feel with His heart towards the offender, 00:27:02.22\00:27:08.76 and it is only then that you can forgive them. 00:27:08.79\00:27:11.36 Now this doesn't happen quickly. 00:27:11.39\00:27:13.67 Because when you go through a wound that someone 00:27:13.70\00:27:16.67 has offended you, there's a time of shock, 00:27:16.70\00:27:19.65 and there's a time of grief, and a time of anger, 00:27:19.68\00:27:22.82 and you've got to let that happen... it's called "crisis." 00:27:22.85\00:27:26.73 But once you come to a place of quietness where you can 00:27:26.76\00:27:29.35 hear the voice of God, then He is able to speak to you 00:27:29.38\00:27:33.29 about that situation and relay to you that He was in that 00:27:33.32\00:27:36.43 very place that that wound was made. 00:27:36.46\00:27:39.34 If you think about Mary, how, you know, both Judas 00:27:39.37\00:27:42.23 and Simon were really, really criticizing her in the very room 00:27:42.26\00:27:46.41 that Jesus was... the very thing that allowed her to 00:27:46.44\00:27:49.67 cope with that situation was because Jesus was in that room. 00:27:49.70\00:27:53.45 And so very often, with wounds, we need to come to a place 00:27:53.48\00:27:58.15 where we see that Jesus totally understands what we have 00:27:58.18\00:28:01.57 gone through - He was there. 00:28:01.60\00:28:03.21 Not only that, that He actually bore the sin offense in Him, 00:28:03.24\00:28:09.40 2 Corinthians 5:21- that He became sin. 00:28:09.43\00:28:13.07 So on the cross, He had all that sin image and emotion, 00:28:13.10\00:28:18.32 and all the pain of that bearing upon His heart 00:28:18.35\00:28:21.97 for both the person that was wounded and the offender. 00:28:22.00\00:28:25.36 When He reveals that to you in your specific wounding, 00:28:25.39\00:28:30.05 then you can see with His heart, and then you can have 00:28:30.08\00:28:34.23 compassion towards the offender, and then be able 00:28:34.26\00:28:37.72 to forgive - that is a miracle! 00:28:37.75\00:28:41.55 You're going to add something 00:28:43.04\00:28:44.49 very briefly, aren't you Taj? Yes 00:28:44.52\00:28:46.22 Only when we see Jesus on the cross, looking into our face 00:28:46.25\00:28:50.73 as we were murdering Him, and then saying, 00:28:50.76\00:28:53.14 "Father, forgive them, they know not what they do." 00:28:53.17\00:28:56.99 Only as we see that picture, can we then look 00:28:57.02\00:29:00.07 into the face of those who might be murdering us, 00:29:00.10\00:29:02.56 and say the same thing. 00:29:02.59\00:29:04.58 "Father, forgive them, they know not what they do." 00:29:04.61\00:29:07.48 So I just want to ask you there, then - forgiving... 00:29:07.51\00:29:09.48 Have we really, really forgiven people if we 00:29:09.51\00:29:11.90 just keep bringing it back up and up? 00:29:11.93\00:29:15.11 And, you know, I do the wrong thing with my neighbor 00:29:15.14\00:29:17.71 who did upset me, and then I got my pocketknife out, 00:29:17.74\00:29:20.06 and I scratched on his bonnet of his BMW, 00:29:20.09\00:29:21.98 "I forgive you," that was not correct, was it? 00:29:22.01\00:29:28.19 Let me add a portion of... in being in pastoral ministry, 00:29:28.22\00:29:31.18 there are many times my wife and I could recall this... 00:29:31.21\00:29:33.71 There were critical times in our ministry where the hurt 00:29:33.74\00:29:35.95 came from people working with us in ministry, in conference, 00:29:35.98\00:29:39.94 other pastors - where we said, 00:29:39.97\00:29:41.90 "We're done, we're leaving the ministry." 00:29:41.93\00:29:43.66 But you know what we did? 00:29:43.70\00:29:44.90 When we forgave, at that very critical moment, 00:29:44.93\00:29:48.06 we decided to follow the pattern of Jesus. 00:29:48.10\00:29:51.20 Now I know, the pastor mentioned it takes a long period of time, 00:29:51.23\00:29:55.19 well, there's also a freedom that comes instantaneously. 00:29:55.22\00:29:59.47 Let me tell you why... 00:29:59.50\00:30:00.71 If forgiveness took a long period of time, 00:30:00.74\00:30:02.75 Jesus really didn't forgive because not long after He said, 00:30:02.78\00:30:06.35 "Father forgive them," then He died. 00:30:06.38\00:30:09.13 There is an instantaneous forgiveness which frees 00:30:09.16\00:30:11.14 you immediately. 00:30:11.17\00:30:14.71 Some others are not yet... those who offend you, they may 00:30:14.74\00:30:19.22 not be for decades willing to even talk to you again, 00:30:19.25\00:30:23.25 let alone hear you say, "I forgive you." 00:30:23.28\00:30:26.71 So we ought not begin a journey by saying, 00:30:26.74\00:30:29.58 "Okay, I forgave you 20 years ago, but you never 00:30:29.61\00:30:32.60 gave me the chance to let you know that; 00:30:32.63\00:30:35.22 therefore, we are not yet at unity." 00:30:35.25\00:30:37.33 When Jesus said, "Father forgive them for they know not 00:30:37.36\00:30:39.76 what they do," it is now left to them to come to the 00:30:39.79\00:30:43.05 realization of what they have done... 00:30:43.08\00:30:45.31 which some of the Jews never did. 00:30:45.34\00:30:46.78 That's why they are still going to 00:30:46.82\00:30:48.62 meet Him in the special resurrection. 00:30:48.65\00:30:50.38 Those that pierced Him, they never came to the realization. 00:30:50.42\00:30:53.83 So you have to sometimes say, "I forgive them, 00:30:53.86\00:30:56.59 and I'll leave the rest of it to God." 00:30:56.62\00:30:59.92 So I'm not looking for that lengthy process. 00:30:59.95\00:31:01.56 That instantaneous "forgive me," forgives me, I mean frees me. 00:31:01.59\00:31:04.74 That's the most important thing. 00:31:04.77\00:31:06.01 That is the most important thing - it frees you, yes. 00:31:06.04\00:31:08.66 Here's a question, now I'm just hoping that nobody from 00:31:08.69\00:31:12.30 Beau Desert Church wrote this question... 00:31:12.33\00:31:16.27 I'll be checking handwritings. 00:31:16.30\00:31:18.34 "If my minister is not preaching the Present Truth, 00:31:18.37\00:31:23.50 what should I do about it? 00:31:23.53\00:31:27.15 That's not from Beau Desert Church, is it? No? 00:31:27.18\00:31:30.91 You need to preach it. 00:31:30.94\00:31:32.72 No, I... In 25 words or less. 00:31:37.95\00:31:40.82 Yes, no problem... You are not coming to church 00:31:40.85\00:31:47.03 to receive a blessing. 00:31:47.06\00:31:50.00 When I go to church, and I'm not a pastor, you understand, 00:31:50.03\00:31:54.32 I don't have a congregation... You understand what I'm saying? 00:31:54.35\00:31:58.84 When I come to church, I come to church to bring a blessing, 00:31:58.87\00:32:03.18 so I bring Present Truth where I go. 00:32:03.21\00:32:07.17 I have Bible studies where I go. 00:32:07.20\00:32:10.44 I, by God's grace, demonstrate what Present Truth is, 00:32:10.47\00:32:15.22 and I've gained the ear of ministers who have not 00:32:15.25\00:32:18.77 taught Present Truth, who now preach Present Truth. 00:32:18.80\00:32:21.66 Not because I came in kicking and screaming and talking about 00:32:21.69\00:32:23.85 you're not preaching Present Truth, I demonstrated 00:32:23.88\00:32:26.41 what Present Truth was which is a gracious, loving, 00:32:26.44\00:32:29.57 firm truth in Christ Jesus, so you bring Present Truth, Amen 00:32:29.60\00:32:35.98 Taj, it's like a gun in your hand, 00:32:36.01\00:32:37.77 it's like a trigger, you're ready to pull it... 00:32:37.81\00:32:39.26 You wanted to add something to that? No? 00:32:39.29\00:32:42.40 Well, you know, when you look at Christ, He went to the 00:32:42.43\00:32:46.80 synagogue on the Sabbath, even though the Pharisees were 00:32:46.83\00:32:51.28 preaching things that, you know, it wasn't relevant. 00:32:51.31\00:32:54.30 They had a misunderstanding of things, but He didn't let 00:32:54.33\00:32:56.35 anything disrupt His worship, His relationship with His 00:32:56.38\00:32:59.86 Father, and so, you know, we come to church not so much 00:32:59.89\00:33:04.02 to be fed - if we just ate once a week, we'd die spiritually, 00:33:04.05\00:33:07.46 and so we come, as Brother Andre mentioned so eloquently, that we 00:33:07.49\00:33:11.39 come to be a blessing, not so much to receive a blessing 00:33:11.42\00:33:14.07 and as we are a blessing, we are blessed in that process. 00:33:14.10\00:33:16.72 It's more blessed to give than to receive. 00:33:16.75\00:33:18.71 My answer is very short... 00:33:18.74\00:33:20.66 The phrase "Present Truth," has taken on different meanings 00:33:20.69\00:33:24.52 depending on who uses it. 00:33:24.55\00:33:26.42 That phrase has been used to assault individuals, 00:33:26.45\00:33:31.12 and to offend individuals by somebody picking up a 00:33:31.15\00:33:34.13 hobbyhorse and saying, "This is Present Truth." 00:33:34.16\00:33:36.90 So we have to understand not to use that word and apply it 00:33:36.93\00:33:40.01 that now I have "Present Truth" or that ministry is preaching 00:33:40.04\00:33:43.77 Present Truth or they're not preaching Present Truth. 00:33:43.80\00:33:47.10 We are called to preach the "Three Angels Messages," 00:33:47.13\00:33:50.19 and you cannot get a truth more present than what 00:33:50.22\00:33:52.34 Ellen White says, "The last message to be given 00:33:52.37\00:33:55.96 to the world is a revelation of the character of God's love 00:33:55.99\00:33:59.76 as revealed in His people." 00:33:59.79\00:34:01.60 That's the most present message because God's character 00:34:01.63\00:34:04.94 has been distorted by all the other doctrines that don't 00:34:04.97\00:34:07.32 reveal His love... eternal burning, 00:34:07.35\00:34:09.16 and all the other things that go along with that. 00:34:09.19\00:34:11.95 So I consider Present Truth to be my responsibility 00:34:11.99\00:34:14.58 to preach the "Three Angels Messages," and in all that 00:34:14.62\00:34:17.18 reveal the character of God's love, not just in what I say, 00:34:17.21\00:34:21.07 but in how I live. 00:34:21.10\00:34:22.43 And the people said... AMEN, indeed. 00:34:22.46\00:34:26.14 Where do... I'm going to use that word... women fit 00:34:26.17\00:34:31.04 in the ministry of God and His work? 00:34:31.07\00:34:34.59 It was going to come some way... 00:34:34.62\00:34:38.27 Okay, when I come to this question, I would go to 00:34:38.30\00:34:42.09 Joel 2:28-29 and the Bible says, "And it shall come to pass 00:34:42.12\00:34:49.14 afterward that I will pour out my Spirit on men." 00:34:49.17\00:34:53.68 It says, "all flesh." "Your sons and your daughters 00:34:53.71\00:34:58.05 shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, 00:34:58.08\00:35:01.34 your young men shall see visions; And also on my 00:35:01.37\00:35:04.57 men servants and on my maid servants, I will pour out 00:35:04.60\00:35:07.57 My Spirit in those days." 00:35:07.60\00:35:09.95 I believe, very strongly, that God has a special work 00:35:09.98\00:35:13.31 for everybody to do including women - we're all included 00:35:13.34\00:35:16.08 in the great commission, and as soon Jesus rose 00:35:16.11\00:35:19.59 from the grave, we find He told Mary to go and tell the others. 00:35:19.62\00:35:23.38 He gave her an evangelistic work. 00:35:23.41\00:35:25.59 And so, I think that's something very important. 00:35:25.62\00:35:28.21 Now I am sure, that the question is hinting towards 00:35:28.24\00:35:32.36 the great elephant in the room, "women's ordination." 00:35:32.39\00:35:36.02 Can you see an elephant? Yes, I can see it! 00:35:36.05\00:35:38.72 Women's ordination. 00:35:38.75\00:35:41.34 I'm happy to have help here from all of you. 00:35:41.37\00:35:44.26 My personal conviction is that I think, and it was said 00:35:44.29\00:35:49.42 in the message this morning, I completely agreed... 00:35:49.45\00:35:51.92 I think we waste a lot of time majoring in minors. 00:35:51.95\00:35:56.28 This is what I call a "red herring," 00:35:56.31\00:35:58.12 that's what we call it in English. 00:35:58.16\00:35:59.90 A red herring is taking our focus off the main things 00:35:59.94\00:36:04.04 which we should be worrying about, 00:36:04.07\00:36:05.23 and that is getting the gospel out to the world. 00:36:05.26\00:36:07.31 Imagine, if at the next General Conference session 00:36:07.34\00:36:10.27 this coming year, if all the time we're going to spend 00:36:10.30\00:36:13.12 on this issue, we spend on developing an evangelistic 00:36:13.15\00:36:16.67 strategy to reach the world. 00:36:16.70\00:36:18.52 That's what we should be worrying about right now. 00:36:18.55\00:36:21.42 So that's my personal view. Preach it sister, preach it! 00:36:21.45\00:36:25.23 I am... and people ask me because I preach, 00:36:25.26\00:36:29.90 and I've been called "pastor" 00:36:29.93\00:36:31.25 where I go places, I am not a pastor. 00:36:31.28\00:36:33.24 I'm just a young person who I feel very convicted that 00:36:33.27\00:36:36.66 I made a promise to God that I would speak for Him 00:36:36.69\00:36:38.87 wherever He opens the doors. 00:36:38.90\00:36:40.64 That's why I'm here, I feel compelled to go 00:36:40.67\00:36:43.65 because of that promise that I made to Him. 00:36:43.68\00:36:46.09 And a Baptist, I think before I get there... 00:36:46.12\00:36:48.89 I think the home is a reflection of the church. 00:36:48.92\00:36:52.37 We see, you know, in the home we have husband, wife, 00:36:52.40\00:36:55.58 father, mother, children, everything, 00:36:55.61\00:36:57.16 but in the home, the father is the head of the house... 00:36:57.19\00:37:00.50 that's what God made him, the head of the house. 00:37:00.53\00:37:03.03 He's the husband, he's the protector. 00:37:03.06\00:37:04.85 He is to look after his family. 00:37:04.88\00:37:07.14 He is to be the priest of the home. 00:37:07.17\00:37:08.80 And let's face it ladies, we like a man to take the lead, 00:37:08.83\00:37:12.21 to be the spiritual leader in our relationships, 00:37:12.24\00:37:15.95 and in our homes. Amen! Okay 00:37:15.98\00:37:19.02 Let me add something to that, can I say something? 00:37:19.05\00:37:23.17 You're the... okay. I'll also add, but you'll finish this. 00:37:23.20\00:37:25.54 You can and I'll come back... Well just men 00:37:25.57\00:37:27.96 because I'm talking to men. 00:37:27.99\00:37:29.33 Men to be real men because back in the days of Amos 00:37:29.36\00:37:33.15 and Isaiah and these people, the women had no issues about 00:37:33.18\00:37:36.45 men taking control, and if you read the record, 00:37:36.48\00:37:39.49 and all the letters that used to go in about women 00:37:39.52\00:37:41.61 and ordination and all this, it's sounds like a women's 00:37:41.64\00:37:44.13 weekly because men's weekly. 00:37:44.16\00:37:46.41 Now don't take offense men, but men, we need to step 00:37:46.44\00:37:49.44 up to the plate and start to be what God has 00:37:49.47\00:37:52.32 ordained us to be. 00:37:52.35\00:37:53.60 Anyway, that's all, I can keep going for 45 minutes but... 00:37:53.63\00:37:57.22 I just wanted to add another comment here on that context. 00:37:57.25\00:38:01.67 Within the home situation, there's a Baptist preacher 00:38:01.70\00:38:04.47 who I really enjoy listening to. 00:38:04.50\00:38:05.98 He comes up with good one-liners, 00:38:06.01\00:38:07.21 he has since passed away. 00:38:07.24\00:38:08.74 But he said this and I wrote it down so I don't get it wrong. 00:38:08.77\00:38:11.56 "Anything with no head is dead, 00:38:11.59\00:38:13.46 and anything with 2 heads is a freak." 00:38:13.49\00:38:16.09 So we need somebody to take the lead, 00:38:16.12\00:38:18.85 and God called the man to take the lead in the family situation 00:38:18.88\00:38:22.85 and we want a man to take the lead. 00:38:22.88\00:38:24.76 And that's why Spirit of Prophecy says, 00:38:24.79\00:38:26.74 "The greatest need in the world today is the want of men." 00:38:26.77\00:38:31.49 So, as a woman, I implore the men to be men! 00:38:31.52\00:38:35.53 Step up and be the godly leaders that God is calling you to be. 00:38:35.56\00:38:39.31 That doesn't mean that women cannot serve God. 00:38:39.35\00:38:42.52 We can serve God! I've spent the last 00:38:42.55\00:38:44.94 I don't know how many years I've been speaking for Him now, 00:38:44.97\00:38:47.30 but at least 7... the last 7 years preaching, 00:38:47.33\00:38:50.16 and I've not been ordained, but that's not the issue 00:38:50.19\00:38:53.33 for me... if God calls me, and He has, 00:38:53.36\00:38:55.64 then that's all that matters! Amen! AMEN! 00:38:55.67\00:38:58.46 Thirty years ago, it was only ladies used to wear bikinis, 00:38:58.49\00:39:00.78 but look what's happening in the world today, 00:39:00.81\00:39:02.31 now there's so much confusion, isn't there? 00:39:02.34\00:39:04.76 So much confusion! 00:39:04.79\00:39:06.06 Sister, I'm sure glad that, you know, we have ladies like you 00:39:06.09\00:39:08.75 in the ministry! It's a blessing! 00:39:08.78\00:39:10.32 I think she has sealed it. 00:39:10.35\00:39:11.60 I don't even think you need any further commentary. 00:39:11.63\00:39:14.17 Let's move on... oh no? You want to add something. 00:39:14.20\00:39:16.48 You're on a roll. Yeah, I've got on a roll... 00:39:16.51\00:39:19.95 And the other thing that I wanted to say here... 00:39:19.98\00:39:23.39 We are equal... just because the husband is 00:39:23.42\00:39:26.25 the head of the house, doesn't mean he is 00:39:26.28\00:39:28.35 more superior or anything, we're all human beings here, 00:39:28.38\00:39:31.62 but equal but different; we have different functions, 00:39:31.65\00:39:34.44 different roles and I think, for me, when I came 00:39:34.47\00:39:37.31 to this issue, because you have to come to this issue 00:39:37.34\00:39:39.30 it's the hot potato... and the big elephant, 00:39:39.33\00:39:41.61 whatever you want to call it... 00:39:41.64\00:39:43.55 When I came to this issue, I think of the Godhead, 00:39:43.58\00:39:46.57 Father, Son, Holy Spirit, all God, equally God; 00:39:46.60\00:39:50.18 different functions. 00:39:50.21\00:39:51.28 Neither one of them is jealous of the other, 00:39:51.31\00:39:53.47 but they are in submission to one another, 00:39:53.50\00:39:56.03 and that to me, when I thought about that, 00:39:56.06\00:39:57.85 I thought that is a powerful argument. Settles it. 00:39:57.88\00:40:00.26 Amen! Amen! 00:40:00.29\00:40:01.81 I think you have finished this. Yeah - thank you. 00:40:01.84\00:40:05.93 That's finished - you are finished now, aren't you? 00:40:05.96\00:40:09.21 Lovely. All right. 00:40:09.24\00:40:11.45 Other Pentecostal Churches or religions that don't 00:40:11.48\00:40:15.56 keep the Sabbath - will there be people 00:40:15.59\00:40:19.02 that go to heaven from those churches when Jesus comes? 00:40:19.05\00:40:21.74 Yes... next question. 00:40:21.77\00:40:26.77 You know, let me say something... 00:40:29.38\00:40:31.12 We are not the only saved... the time disappeared Rosemary... 00:40:31.15\00:40:35.66 We're not the only saved people, understand that. 00:40:35.69\00:40:39.26 What is an Adventist? 00:40:39.29\00:40:40.84 And people have asked, What is an Adventist? 00:40:40.87\00:40:42.88 Simply a Christian that has taken the further step 00:40:42.91\00:40:46.87 in accepting the truth of God's Word. 00:40:46.90\00:40:48.84 For us to say other Christians don't know Jesus, 00:40:48.87\00:40:50.88 is to say what He hasn't even said. 00:40:50.91\00:40:52.92 He said, "Other sheep I have which are not of this fold, 00:40:52.95\00:40:55.96 but them also I must bring." 00:40:55.99\00:40:57.67 So the answer, I think, to that is yes. 00:40:57.70\00:40:59.43 Just want to give 3 verses on that. 00:40:59.46\00:41:02.27 Acts 17:30-31- "In the times of his ignorance, 00:41:02.30\00:41:06.29 God winked at, he overlooked, but now commands 00:41:06.32\00:41:09.06 all men everywhere to repent." 00:41:09.09\00:41:10.56 So how does God judge? 00:41:10.59\00:41:11.75 Based upon the knowledge, the understanding, 00:41:11.78\00:41:13.68 the light we have. 00:41:13.71\00:41:14.74 Many people die keeping Sunday all their life. 00:41:14.77\00:41:17.27 They did it in sincerity, they loved God. 00:41:17.30\00:41:19.62 God sees their hearts - they are going to be in 00:41:19.65\00:41:20.91 God's kingdom for sure. 00:41:20.94\00:41:22.45 Another one, James 4:17- "To him who knows to do good 00:41:22.48\00:41:25.29 but does not do it, to him that is sin." 00:41:25.32\00:41:27.56 And then in John 3:19- "This is the condemnation 00:41:27.59\00:41:32.13 that light has come into the world, 00:41:32.16\00:41:33.29 but men love darkness rather than light 00:41:33.32\00:41:35.28 because their deeds were evil." 00:41:35.31\00:41:36.63 So there's no condemnation for being in darkness 00:41:36.66\00:41:38.75 or being in ignorance or not being aware of 00:41:38.78\00:41:41.25 all the truth. 00:41:41.28\00:41:42.32 The condemnation comes when light is presented, but we say 00:41:42.35\00:41:45.54 "no thank you" to it and we choose darkness over light. 00:41:45.58\00:41:48.74 Very good, thank you, we have 3 minutes left. 00:41:48.78\00:41:53.69 Here's the question... if anyone would like to answer. 00:41:53.72\00:41:56.10 As a teen who loves music and performing, 00:41:56.13\00:42:00.37 is it okay for me to go on shows like "Australian Idol," 00:42:00.40\00:42:04.79 or "American Idol." 00:42:04.82\00:42:07.16 My question is, if you sing that good, 00:42:07.19\00:42:08.90 come down to Beau Desert Church. Amen... Okay? 00:42:08.93\00:42:11.86 I'll take you on. 00:42:11.89\00:42:13.40 "Unclean Spirits" will be available after Sabbath, 00:42:13.43\00:42:18.39 the series on music and entertainment. 00:42:18.42\00:42:22.54 Just want to make that clear. 00:42:22.57\00:42:24.50 We're not giving out unclean spirits, 00:42:24.53\00:42:26.59 but a series called "Unclean Spirits." 00:42:26.63\00:42:28.85 Here's the point... "Love not the world, 00:42:28.88\00:42:31.06 nor the things that are in the world. 00:42:31.09\00:42:33.13 If any man loves the world, 00:42:33.16\00:42:34.55 the love of the Father is not in him." 00:42:34.58\00:42:36.29 I don't want to sing for the world... 00:42:36.32\00:42:38.71 One day I was watching the Grammy Awards, 00:42:38.74\00:42:42.83 and there were many that could not sing on there 00:42:42.86\00:42:45.21 as well as I did, and I said, 00:42:45.24\00:42:47.02 "I could make a lot of money being on that." 00:42:47.05\00:42:49.16 And the Lord rebuked me, 00:42:49.19\00:42:50.26 He said, "I don't want you to be on that." 00:42:50.29\00:42:52.10 I'd rather be unknown in this world, 00:42:52.13\00:42:54.05 and be known in the Kingdom of God. Amen! 00:42:54.08\00:42:58.27 Very quickly... No problem! 00:42:58.30\00:43:00.47 The titles of the shows, "American Idol," 00:43:00.50\00:43:08.12 "Australian Idol," enough said. 00:43:08.15\00:43:13.78 I'll just add a little point. 00:43:15.83\00:43:18.41 Two years ago, we had a big camp and we had 00:43:18.44\00:43:21.29 Anna Weatherup come and sing, a beautiful Christian singer, 00:43:21.33\00:43:25.00 buy her album, she sings great, but prior to that, 00:43:25.03\00:43:29.44 she had actually been on "Australian Idol," 00:43:29.47\00:43:31.90 and she gave her testimony at camp, 00:43:31.93\00:43:34.10 and she said that if she knew what it meant to sign up 00:43:34.13\00:43:38.19 to it, she never knew what she was getting into. 00:43:38.22\00:43:41.60 If you read the contract and what you have to do... 00:43:41.63\00:43:45.18 if you win "Australian Idol," and what takes place afterwards, 00:43:45.21\00:43:49.66 she said she was so glad and she believed there was 00:43:49.69\00:43:52.15 providential that she never won "Australian Idol" 00:43:52.18\00:43:54.74 and now she is a really wonderful gospel singer. 00:43:54.77\00:43:58.37 Yes, let us pray... 00:43:58.40\00:44:00.12 Lord Heavenly Father, Lord, we just thank You, 00:44:00.15\00:44:02.30 dear God, thank You for men and women. 00:44:02.33\00:44:04.65 Men and women of God, dear Lord, 00:44:04.68\00:44:06.46 who are not afraid to speak and to preach; 00:44:06.49\00:44:09.17 not afraid to step up, Lord. 00:44:09.20\00:44:11.19 And Lord, You have put a burden on each and every one 00:44:11.22\00:44:13.59 of their heart, dear God, and I just pray, dear Lord, 00:44:13.62\00:44:15.44 that each and every one of us, every person in this place, 00:44:15.47\00:44:17.99 dear Lord, that we do move boldly forward, dear Lord, 00:44:18.02\00:44:21.35 with confidence, great confidence, dear Lord, 00:44:21.38\00:44:23.52 that Jesus is coming back, coming back soon 00:44:23.55\00:44:26.37 to take us home, but until then, dear Lord, 00:44:26.40\00:44:28.23 until then, we live in this world, 00:44:28.26\00:44:30.17 a world that is marred by sin, confusion. 00:44:30.20\00:44:33.59 Satan has got his way, but Lord, may we cling 00:44:33.62\00:44:36.89 to what is good - which is You. 00:44:36.92\00:44:38.94 We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen 00:44:38.97\00:44:41.33
