00:38 We've been having a tremendous blessed time here -
00:42 Amen - in West Frankfort, Illinois, at our Camp Meeting.
00:46 We have a tremendous attendance here
00:49 and everyone's having a wonderful time, Danny.
00:52 We are. And people are being fed physically - yeah -
00:55 because over here we've had free meals all week once again.
00:57 And so we figured then you get fed spiritually
01:01 why not physically too, right? Amen! Right!
01:03 So we're glad that each and every one of you are here.
01:05 And for those of you at home, thank you for joining us
01:08 as you do each and every day. Yes. And thank you for your love
01:10 and your prayers and financial support of 3ABN
01:14 as we endeavor to take this great gospel of the kingdom
01:16 into all the world. Amen. What a privilege to get together,
01:20 and here we've been here for several days.
01:22 We've got all day and all evening
01:24 and much of this is going out live all around the world.
01:27 Isn't that amazing? Amen! Thirty years ago
01:29 this November was just a dream.
01:31 The Lord impressed us to build a television station that would
01:34 reach the world with an undiluted three angels' messages
01:37 one that would counteract the counterfeit.
01:39 And today to say we're on nine satellites
01:42 that people can watch anywhere on planet earth
01:44 if they want to watch 3ABN.
01:46 Not only just our original 3ABN but all the other networks.
01:51 Dare to Dream Network, Latino Network.
01:54 We have our Proclaim! We have our Children's.
01:56 We have our International Network.
01:58 We praise God for that. We couldn't do it without you
02:01 with your love, prayers, and support so thank you so much.
02:04 It's so amazing now, y'all... that when we started this
02:08 Judy and I, we'll talk about it in a minute. We've been
02:10 working together 30-some years. Now we can on our telephones
02:14 anywhere in the world we can watch 3ABN if we want to.
02:17 Isn't that amazing? Amen! The technology
02:20 that has happened. And last events right before Jesus comes
02:23 knowledge shall be increased and what'll happen? Men run
02:26 to and fro. Folks, that's what's happening today.
02:29 Someone said: "Well you Christians are always saying
02:31 Jesus is coming again. You're always saying...
02:34 You've been saying that for 100 years, 200 years,
02:36 every generation. And knowledge has been increased
02:39 and, you know, so what is different about this? "
02:42 I said: "There's a big difference. " Think about this:
02:46 100 years ago how could you get the gospel to all the world?
02:49 That's right. Couldn't, could you?
02:52 Now think about this: when we... Right now we're speaking to you.
02:56 When we say: "Hello and welcome to 3ABN! "
02:58 this signal goes up 22,300 miles to space.
03:02 How much did I say?
03:04 22,300 miles, and it travels at the speed of light.
03:09 Anybody know what the speed of light is?
03:10 186,000... Fast somebody said.
03:13 186,200 miles per second.
03:16 Goes around planet earth in just about three seconds.
03:20 Now, if the Lord tarried 1,000 years, how much
03:23 can you improve on three seconds - right? -
03:25 getting the gospel to the world? Folks, we are there.
03:27 Now we are not waiting on Jesus.
03:30 He's waiting on His people to perfect His character
03:33 within our lives so that He can come back
03:36 for a victorious church, right? Amen!
03:38 Somebody say amen to that? Amen! We're excited today.
03:40 Thank the Lord for His blessings and for the opportunity
03:45 of being Christians in the clos- ing moments of earth's history.
03:48 Oh we really are. And during this Camp Meeting
03:51 one of the great things: the messages have been phenomenal -
03:54 Amen! - but the music has been so inspiring.
03:58 And Danny, you began working on a project
04:01 in the early part of this year on the second coming.
04:04 And some of the songs that are going to be presented today
04:08 are brand new. They were just written.
04:11 Tell us about how the Lord impressed you
04:13 with some of those songs.
04:15 Well we were talking about the second coming.
04:18 Many of you know the Pillars Project we've done.
04:20 The Pillars of our Faith; the Pillars Hymns.
04:22 We wanted to do something similar to that
04:26 that would be a really great production,
04:27 something that anybody would listen to.
04:30 So we said: "Our Camp Meeting's going to be centered around
04:34 the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. "
04:36 So I said: "Why don't we do a project on second
04:39 coming songs? But let's just don't do all originals.
04:42 Maybe we can get some new ones. "
04:44 So the Lord has blessed. We have several new songs.
04:47 And while I'm at it I might as well introduce Bro. Lari Goss.
04:50 Lari Goss has been in gospel music for many many years.
04:54 Jim says and Lari's told this:
04:57 with your family... you were so poor you literally lived on
04:59 dirt floors in Georgia - right? - when growing up.
05:02 So to see Lari go... what God has done with him
05:05 and his family. I think Ron Goss is out here,
05:07 his wife Carolyn.
05:09 To see what they have done because of their determination
05:12 to serve the Lord to put them in a position
05:14 that he's arranging music, writing music
05:17 that's affecting the world. Amen!
05:19 It's changing the world. So Lari, thank you for being a part
05:22 of this. Thank you. We called Lari Goss and said:
05:24 "Is there any way we can get you to do this? "
05:26 And he agreed to say: "Yes, I'll take this music. "
05:29 So I even had one song I wrote and I said: "I don't have any
05:32 music to it. " He said: "I'll write it for you. "
05:34 So the very first song that we're going to do
05:36 called the Sacrifice... I wrote the words
05:39 but Lari wrote the music to this. So we're so thankful.
05:42 He's arranged every note that you hear on all the orchestra,
05:45 the background vocals. I mean it's all in that mind.
05:48 And I don't know how you get it out, but you do beautifully
05:51 on it. Thank you, Lari - thank you - for what you have done.
05:54 I'm going to ask Reggie to come up.
05:56 And Reggie... Anybody know Reggie Smith?
05:58 Amen! I'm going to have... While we're started here
06:03 right before we sing I'm going to have Reggie
06:04 introduce our singers. We have some special guests
06:07 with us today. We do! We do! And Danny, over here...
06:11 Tell us a little bit about them. OK, a little bit about them.
06:13 On the very end is Gene McDonald. All right.
06:15 You might have... Can you stand, Gene?
06:17 Gene here on the end. I've got to tell you first of all
06:18 all these people that I introduce are just wonderful
06:20 friends of mine and Mel... of course, you, Danny.
06:23 Gene McDonald is the premier bass singer
06:26 with the Homecoming Bill Gaither and Gloria Gaither
06:29 Homecoming. You've seen him on many DVDs. All right.
06:31 Make him welcome. All right. Gene McDonald.
06:34 And next to Gene is Terry Blackwood.
06:36 Many of you know Terry Blackwood. He sang with the
06:38 wonderful Imperials group called The Imperials
06:41 that backed Elvis and sang many wonderful, wonderful...
06:44 Some guy named Elvis he used to sing with. Yeah.
06:46 I don't know. He's like saying: "No, we don't need that. "
06:48 This is Terry Blackwood, Danny.
06:52 All right, thank you. But Danny, you might want to say
06:53 Judy. Judy, why don't you stand up?
06:55 Judy and I have been friends for 30-some years.
06:58 In fact, in 1982 Melody's mother was
07:01 in an automobile accident and she lost her life in that.
07:05 And months after that Aaron Wilburn, a friend of ours,
07:08 wrote a song - he and Dave Layman - called Heart Mender.
07:11 So we went to Nashville. We met Bobby Bradley
07:13 who is the engineer. I said: "Bobby, we want to get
07:16 some... " He said: "I'll tell you the best singers
07:17 that I know and we'll get them here. " And Judy
07:20 in the Fall of 1982. So we figured that out
07:23 it's about 32 years. So every project you've ever heard me
07:26 sing on Judy's one of the singers behind it.
07:29 Incredible talent. Judy's also... Not only sings
07:33 back up, she herself writes... we use this term
07:37 lightly because as Christians we know there's only one star
07:41 but in the secular world she was a star herself.
07:44 She's had several songs in the top ten.
07:46 Girls Ride Horses, Too, I think is a #1 hit
07:48 back in the 90's or whatever.
07:51 But she is an incredibly talented person.
07:53 Loves the Lord. She's done jingles;
07:55 she's done it all. But to have Judy here
07:57 to be here working together in a live program like this
08:00 just means the world to me. Thank you for being here,
08:02 consenting to come, Judy.
08:05 So Danny, real quick, I think you all know and love...
08:08 You know this lady, don't you Danny? Melody Dawn.
08:10 Melody Dawn. She was 11 years old when we
08:13 started working with her, right Judy? Isn't it amazing
08:16 you and I haven't aged a bit?
08:18 And she obviously has aged, Melody has. Right?
08:22 She doesn't look like an 11-year-old any more.
08:24 But you look good, Melody. You look good
08:27 for a woman in your... She told me never to say...
08:31 She says: "Dad, I'm old enough now. Please don't tell my age. "
08:35 I said: "If I were your age I'd brag about it. "
08:38 She says: "Please don't tell my age. "
08:40 So I won't. I will not. I made her that promise.
08:42 Melody, I won't tell your age but I'll never forget that
08:45 beautiful sunny morning when I went to the hospital
08:49 in 1971
08:54 and... I didn't tell your age, honey.
08:59 I didn't. I'm sure they're not really thinking...
09:02 adding right now. I see calculators going on.
09:04 Let's see. Danny, it's 81... Not 71, 81.
09:06 Oh no. Nice try, Reggie.
09:08 All right. Why don't you introduce the lady next to...
09:11 OK. Well a lot of you know this lovely lady.
09:13 Her name is Ladye Love and this is my wife.
09:17 So... And we've been married 19 years this year
09:20 so you know her. And this lovely lady here
09:23 is Bonnie Keen, just a dear, dear friend of ours.
09:26 Bonnie has sung on almost every major record
09:29 in the last few years... thirty years.
09:33 No... 25 years. She's a dear friend.
09:36 I've got to tell you all these people, Danny, they first of all
09:40 every one of these people love the Lord with all their
09:42 heart, mind, and soul... every bit of them.
09:45 And they love people. They love you and they love everybody.
09:48 So they were really hand-picked with Danny for this particular
09:53 project. Bonnie Keen sang with a wonderful, award-winning group
09:57 called First Call. And Danny, the reason they were called
10:00 First Call was because in Nashville
10:02 she was a session singer. And truly, the three of them
10:05 were the first call for all the CDs and records.
10:09 What she said, she said "She's not dead yet.
10:12 She's still working... she's still singing. "
10:14 Bonnie Keen.
10:17 So all these folk from Nashville, Tennessee.
10:20 For all you Tennessee hillbillies they're going to
10:22 make you proud today - all right - that's with us.
10:25 Yvonne Lewis. Those of you... You can stand up, Yvonne,
10:28 for those who may not know you.
10:30 Those of you know Yvonne Lewis. She's had a very successful
10:33 career in music for many many years.
10:35 But she says: "You know, I've never been happier
10:37 than right now serving the Lord
10:40 and singing for Him. " And so people have heard about you
10:43 but she's the general manager of Dare to Dream, our
10:46 minority network. And so we're glad that you're here today also
10:50 as guest. Course the rest of our choir... I think you know
10:52 most everybody back here.
10:54 So wave to the folks, and they're 3ABN regulars.
10:57 You've seen them, so you're all welcome too.
11:00 But we just want to make sure that we get our guests here
11:03 from out of town and out of state.
11:05 Amen. Well we're really looking forward to the music.
11:09 So is it that time? Absolutely.
11:11 I'll tell you what: why don't you say a prayer - all right -
11:13 because we really believe this music was given for a purpose,
11:17 and it's to draw us closer to the Lord Jesus Christ
11:20 and it's to bring all attention...
11:22 We like to have fun.
11:23 I've always... I've traveled so much
11:25 I've had people say: "Don't you ever get down? "
11:28 And I said: "No, I've read the back of the book.
11:30 The back of the book says they overcame him by the blood
11:32 of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. "
11:34 But there's also a time to be quiet and come before the Lord
11:37 and listen. And these songs have been dedicated
11:41 and we've asked God to let these be world changers.
11:44 Let people's minds and hearts be drawn to the Lord Jesus Christ.
11:48 So before we enter in to the next several songs
11:50 I'm going to ask Jim Gilley to ask God's blessing.
11:53 Shall we bow our heads?
11:55 Father in heaven, we thank you for the blood of the Lamb:
11:58 the blood of Jesus Christ.
12:01 And by our testimony today
12:04 through music and through the spoken word
12:07 Father we tell the world about Him.
12:11 The Bible says we "overcame by the blood of the Lamb
12:16 and the word of their testimony"
12:17 and we will speak and talk about Jesus
12:22 as long as, Lord, You give us the breath to do so.
12:26 We look forward to the coming, the return of our Lord
12:30 and Savior. We look forward to spending eternity
12:33 with Him in Your house.
12:36 Thank you, Father. In Jesus' name, Amen. Amen.
12:41 OK, we want Reggie and Ladye and Yvonne.
12:44 You're going to do the trio. And E.T. Everett is
12:47 our choir director and absolutely a great asset
12:50 to all of us. Thank you, E.T., for being here.
12:53 And we love you and appreciate what you do.
17:14 Reggie and Ladye, why don't you just stay on up here?
17:17 I think you're going to do a song that many of you know
17:19 called We Shall Behold Him.
17:22 Did Dottie Rambo write this? And this song is an incredible
17:27 song, talking about... It paints the picture -
17:30 true picture - of what it will really be like.
17:33 And that's what all of these songs are.
17:35 We just want to paint a picture. The Bible says
17:37 "Now we see through a glass darkly
17:39 but then face to face. "
17:42 So it's in our minds. Ellen White actually says
17:45 we should spend an hour a day contemplating the goodness
17:48 of God. One of those things is: can you imagine a God
17:52 who is big enough to rule this mighty universe
17:54 yet He's small enough to live within our heart.
17:56 That He cared enough about us
17:59 that when literally there was no escape for man
18:03 He made that sacrifice. That He gave His own life
18:07 on the cross of Calvary.
18:09 This song is an incredible song.
18:11 I don't think anybody can do it in my opinion
18:14 'cause I love these folk - what a great talent
18:16 and friends they are and great love for the Lord -
18:19 but We Shall Behold Him.
24:09 Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!
24:13 Praise the Lord!
24:16 Thank you. Boy, there's an anointing in here today.
24:20 You feel it? I'm getting little goose bumps over here.
24:23 Little I don't know... They're not chill bumps;
24:25 they're goose bumps I think.
24:27 I think they're Holy Spirit bumps all over me here.
24:29 Wow! Incredible. Lari, thank you again so much.
24:33 What beautiful arrangements! These things are incredible.
24:36 And I talked to one of the most famous arrangers
24:39 in Nashville that does movie scores and a lot of movies.
24:43 Some of you might even recognize, and I said
24:45 something about I was meeting with this person
24:47 one day then I said I was in Nashville and I said
24:50 "I've got to meet with Lari Goss, another arranger. "
24:53 And this person who is so highly respected
24:55 said: "Lari Goss is not just an arranger.
24:59 Lari Goss is what we all would strive to be. "
25:02 She said: "His mind is amazing and the musical abilities
25:06 that this man has is like... " She said: "We're not in his
25:09 league. " So I say that not to uplift you, Lari,
25:12 but you've allowed God to use you.
25:14 Give Him all the glory.
25:17 Praise God for the glory.
25:18 And life's not been a bed of roses for this guy.
25:22 He struggled with health... You've had health problems.
25:24 Struggled with cancer and you had lots of problems.
25:27 Things weren't looking so good but last week you called me.
25:30 Went to the doctor. What'd the doctor tell you?
25:33 I had my last... I've been fighting cancer for 5 years.
25:36 Had a 5-year life span with a 15% chance of survival.
25:42 And so it's been 6 years now
25:46 and last Monday I went for my CAT scan
25:51 and not only is my cancer in remission.
25:55 There's no cancer there... just scar tissue.
25:59 Praise God!
26:03 Well, we all need doctors. I respect them
26:08 greatly but they have their limitations, right?
26:11 That 15% wasn't God's percentage.
26:14 God's percentage said 100%. He's going to be here.
26:17 going to continue. While he's doing this project
26:19 he has five other projects going too.
26:22 So God's not through with you by any means.
26:24 I think you know that now, right?
26:26 Well, you know what Danny? It's such a pleasure
26:28 to be here with you and you so gracefully have
26:31 put these songs together about the second coming...
26:34 And when you came to my home and spent several days with me
26:37 we went through these songs, and before I ever started
26:40 writing the music or the orchestration or the vocals
26:43 I sat down and read the lyrics to all of these songs
26:47 and was so appreciative of what you did
26:50 putting these songs together about the 2nd coming of the Lord
26:53 that it really enlightened me. It lifted my spirit
26:56 and gave me a Blessed Hope for tomorrow
27:00 that I've never had before. Thank you, Danny.
27:03 I appreciate you so much. All right. God bless you.
27:05 Well speaking of that, let's do a song.
27:07 This is a song that I tell you what: if you're not happy
27:10 after this you need to check your pulse, see if you're
27:12 even with us. You may be something wrong with you.
27:15 But this is a great song. Who can't get excited
27:18 about Jesus Is Coming Again?
27:20 Amen. We're going to do this just as a choir, right?
27:24 You sure, Jim Gilley? I wanted Jim to get up here
27:28 and sing this but he he says he'll just sing with the choir.
27:30 I think you ought to get up and sing it, but anyway...
27:33 we'll let him decide.
27:35 Jesus Is Coming Again.
31:00 All right! Amen!
31:08 I hope some of you were singing that with us.
31:10 I saw some of you. Isn't that a beautiful song?
31:13 And just think about Jesus Christ coming back
31:18 in the clouds of glory! Two or three years ago
31:21 I wrote a song. I was home just by myself
31:24 and the thought came to me about heaven
31:27 and I said: "What does heaven really mean to me? "
31:31 And then all of a sudden it hit me: heaven means home
31:34 to me. But the words that I started writing
31:39 probably wouldn't make sense to a lot of folk
31:41 'cause it said: "I'm longing for a place
31:45 I've never been yet it's a place I call home. "
31:48 Now what's wrong with somebody saying that?
31:50 If somebody said: "Man, I'm longing for this place
31:53 and I call it home. " You say: "Have you been there? "
31:55 "No. " "Well how can you possibly
31:58 be longing for a place, Lari, that you've never been?
32:01 I'll tell you how. Every human being...
32:03 Any of you old enough to know about the homing pigeons
32:06 that they use to fly back and forth?
32:08 Every... See, some of them are honest. They raised their
32:10 hands. Others: I know you're old enough to know.
32:13 You're just maybe bashful or your arm's not working
32:16 maybe. Whatever...
32:18 But every human being has a homing device
32:21 in us that God put here, and we're just strangers
32:24 here... sojourners on this earth.
32:26 Right? Because we're really never home till we go home
32:30 with Jesus Christ. Amen. So you can in a Christian sense
32:34 we can be longing for a place we've never been
32:37 yet it's a place that I call home.
32:40 Jim Gilley asked me to do this
32:42 on this project, and so I really wasn't going to sing at all.
32:46 We've got some incredible singers here, but Jim said:
32:48 "No, I want you to do this. Do this for me and Camille. "
32:51 So we're going to do it. I'm going to ask Reggie
32:53 and Ladye to help me and, of course, the whole choir.
32:55 But the song is Heaven Means Home To Me.
37:10 Amen! Beautiful!
37:15 Thank you.
37:19 This next song I just... it's blessed me so much.
37:24 And I say that in a way because I remove myself
37:27 and I say this honestly before God.
37:30 He knows my heart. It's the first song that
37:33 I have ever written that I cried while I wrote the words.
37:37 I literally cried tears while I wrote the words,
37:41 and it's because I felt like they weren't coming from me.
37:44 I felt like they were coming from the Lord.
37:46 And I said: "This is too deep for me.
37:48 You know, this is not something I would think about or write. "
37:52 But I got a picture of the second coming and what it would
37:55 be like right before Jesus comes.
37:57 While we're happy about the second coming
37:59 there's going to be a lot of things happening, right?
38:01 Famines, earthquakes. People will turn... It says
38:04 that the love of many will wax cold.
38:06 Brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers turning
38:09 against each other. It's going to be a terrible time
38:11 for planet earth. And that's what makes it so special
38:15 that we have a loving Savior who cared enough to redeem man
38:19 from his fallen nature. And man would self destruct.
38:23 Without God's intervention this earth would destruct.
38:27 And you know what? It wouldn't last very much longer.
38:30 Do you agree with that? All you've got to do as
38:32 we mentioned before: watch the news, watch television,
38:35 listen to the radio. Just talk to people in general
38:39 and it's amazing. Thirty years ago you could go to
38:42 somebody's house and knock on the door to talk to them.
38:45 They may say "Come in. Let's come in and have a drink
38:47 here. Let's sit down, let me give you something. "
38:49 Today they've got bars on there or they call the police.
38:52 And the worst part is you can't blame them.
38:54 Right? You go in the cities. There's no such thing
38:57 as going knocking on doors passing out literature.
39:00 Some of you tried to do that lately?
39:02 I wouldn't suggest you do it.
39:04 But praise God for television, radio, the printed page,
39:07 all of these things because we can get in behind those bars
39:10 and inside these homes that we can't do it.
39:13 This whole world is changed. People are changing
39:16 because we're taking our eyes off of the Lord Jesus Christ.
39:20 So what I was thinking about was: "Man, what's this earth
39:24 going to be like? " And then all of a sudden you're seeing
39:28 all these terrible things happen. And the devil's
39:32 talking to you. The devil lies. You know he's a big liar,
39:34 right? So the devil's talking to you
39:36 and he's saying: "You know what? Everything you've done
39:39 is in vain. Where is your God when you need Him? "
39:42 So you get sick, you get down and out. People say: "Where
39:44 is God when I need Him? "Where is your God? "
39:47 the demons cried. It came to me and all of a sudden
39:51 it says: "Your truth has failed; it's all been a lie. "
39:54 And then all of a sudden a voice from heaven
39:57 can now be heard. It came from God - the Living Word.
40:00 And just in time the Savior came.
40:04 Just in time He called my name.
40:07 Your name. It brought it so personal to me.
40:10 Here all of this calamities and disasters going on
40:13 around the world. Suddenly we look up
40:16 and there's this small cloud. And as it draws closer
40:18 and closer the earth begins to get brighter and brighter.
40:22 And all of a sudden for those who are ready
40:24 we're saying: "Lo this is our God whom we have waited for.
40:27 He's come to save us. "
40:28 And those of us that are not are running for the rocks
40:30 and mountains and trying to get away.
40:33 We know it's too late.
40:35 And with all of this going on the Creator of the universe
40:38 knows every one of your names.
40:40 Just In Time The Savior Came.
40:44 I was doing that and I said I check the stories
40:47 when I'm writing the song, so I read the Bible and then I said:
40:50 "I'm going to go to Great Controversy" 'cause I'd read it
40:52 before. I want to hear about page 641, 42, in that area
40:56 Ellen White's description of the second coming.
40:58 And it's like the Lord said: "Just put that in.
41:00 Just put that in this song. "
41:02 So we did it, and I'm so thankful that Sr. Yvonne Lewis
41:06 is going to sing this song and she's also going to do
41:09 the narration that came from the Great Controversy
41:13 entitled Just In Time.
43:45 Soon there appears in the East
43:46 a small black cloud
43:48 half the size of a man's hand.
43:51 It's the cloud which surrounds the Savior
43:54 and which seems in the distance to be shrouded in darkness.
43:58 The people of God know this to be the sign
44:01 of the Son of Man. In solemn silence
44:04 they gaze upon it as it draws nearer the earth
44:07 becoming lighter and more glorious
44:09 until it is a great white cloud:
44:12 it's base a glory like consuming fire
44:14 and above it the rainbow of the covenant.
44:17 Jesus rides forth as a mighty conqueror.
44:21 Not now a "Man of Sorrows"
44:23 to drink the bitter cup of shame and woe.
44:26 He comes victor in heaven and earth
44:29 to judge the living and the dead.
44:31 With anthems of celestial melody the holy angels,
44:35 a vast unnumbered throng, attend Him on His way.
44:39 The firmament seems filled with radiant forms
44:42 "ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands of thousands. "
44:48 No human pen can portray the scene;
44:51 no mortal mind is adequate to conceive its splendor.
44:54 "His glory covered the heavens
44:57 and the earth was full of His praise.
45:00 And His brightness was like the light. "
45:02 As the living cloud comes still nearer, every eye beholds
45:05 the Prince of life. No crown of thorns
45:08 now mars that sacred head
45:11 but a diadem of glory rests on His holy brow.
45:14 His countenance outshines the dazzling brightness of
45:17 the noonday sun. "And on His robe
45:20 and on His thigh a name written: King of kings
45:25 and Lord of lords. "
47:04 Wow!
47:09 Those bumps haven't gone away!
47:11 They're still on me, those little Holy Spirit goose bumps
47:14 are still on me here. We're about to have church.
47:16 Right? We're about to get noisy.
47:19 Somebody get upset? Well, you're in the wrong building today
47:21 if you don't want to get a little bit noisy
47:24 if you feel like it. But it's praise to God
47:26 not to anybody else - Amen! - right?
47:28 None of this... nothing that we have...
47:30 The Bible says if we could see it we're all as filthy rags
47:34 in the sight of God.
47:35 I mean really that's just nothing.
47:37 That's something terrible. But through God and His love
47:41 for fallen man He made a plan for us.
47:44 Amen! And when the devil is against you...
47:46 I tell... I've told people for years
47:48 I go places and I see so many Christians depressed.
47:52 They'll come up and say: "Well you don't know
47:54 what this person did to me. "
47:56 And some people say: "Oh I haven't been to church
47:58 in years. " I'll meet them on an airplane.
48:00 "Oh I haven't been to church in years. "
48:01 "How come? " "Too many hypocrites in church. "
48:04 They say: "Too many hypocrites in church. "
48:06 And I say: "What happened? " "Well one time when I was only
48:10 18 years old this person said this to me
48:12 and I got offended. " I said: "You got offended?
48:16 You left somebody offend you? Great peace have they which
48:19 love Thy law and nothing shall offend you"
48:21 is what the Bible tells us.
48:23 But being offended is a choice.
48:25 That's a choice. Nobody can offend you.
48:27 Why let somebody that you're not even into offend you, right?
48:30 Amen! Can I talk plainly with you for a minute?
48:32 Talk plainly? Why let somebody the last thing you want them
48:36 to do is offend you, so you don't have to.
48:39 You'll be offended a choice, so let's make a good choice.
48:42 You know what? It's just like this.
48:45 I tell people: "If you read you don't ever have to be
48:47 discouraged. " Let's say that you go into a book store.
48:50 A lot of people buy a book.
48:52 Maybe it's a novel... whatever.
48:54 And so what do you do? You turn to the back
48:56 and it says: "John and Mary rode off into the sunset
48:58 happily ever after. "
49:00 Right? Now, you start reading the book.
49:03 It's 200 pages. So you go 100 pages through the book
49:06 and all of a sudden John and Mary fell off...
49:09 They're hanging on a cliff. It's 2,000 feet below them
49:13 and, Terry, the limb is breaking.
49:15 And now do you go: "Oh no, John and Mary's going to die! "
49:19 What do you do?
49:21 You say: "How's the author going to get them out of this? "
49:23 Why? 'Cause you read the back of the book
49:25 and you know they didn't die.
49:27 So now it becomes exciting.
49:29 In our own personal lives, folks, we have to look
49:31 at it the same way. We've read Daniel;
49:34 we've read Revelation, the back of the book.
49:36 And as I mentioned earlier what does it say?
49:38 "And they overcame him... " the devil...
49:41 "by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. "
49:43 Right? So folks, we have nothing to be discouraged about.
49:48 No excuses for being depressed.
49:50 We ought to be the happiest, most excited people
49:53 on planet earth. Amen!
49:55 And it's all because of the old rugged cross.
49:59 And Lari Goss has just done a brand-new project -
50:01 solo project - no other instrument.
50:04 No other instrument... solo. And we asked him to do this.
50:07 "Lari, just do some old hymns. "
50:09 And he said: "I'll do it. "
50:11 I said: "Our people love old hymns.
50:13 Just do some hymns just you playing
50:15 the way that you play and do this. "
50:18 And all because of the old rugged cross. Lari Goss.
52:35 Amen! Reggie, Ladye, Yvonne.
52:38 Reggie, Ladye, and Yvonne.
52:41 Lari, why don't you get that in whatever key you want to
52:45 and let's let Reggie and Ladye and Yvonne lead us in a verse
52:48 of The Old Rugged Cross. And we want to hear from you
52:50 out here. You've been listening all this time.
52:52 Don't you feel like singing? Yes!
52:54 All right. We want to hear you. We want you to sing
52:56 so loud that we can hear you all around the world
52:59 because this is an incredible song.
53:01 The Old Rugged Cross. Praise God for the old rugged cross.
53:07 We do things impromptu here at 3ABN as you can see.
53:10 But I know these folks can do it, all right?
54:13 On a hall... sing it...
54:14 far away
54:17 stood an old rugged cross...
55:45 We're coming down to the end of this hour.
55:49 Jesus IS coming again. Amen!
55:54 We can have the assurance that we're ready to meet Him
55:58 by simply placing everything in His hands.
56:06 There's no way that we're good enough to be saved.
56:11 As Danny quoted a moment ago "All of our righteousness
56:16 is as filthy rags. "
56:18 Not our sins. We know how filthy those are.
56:21 But even our goodness... It's only by the blood of Jesus,
56:29 His cleansing power, being filled with His Holy Spirit
56:35 that we will be ready to meet Him when He comes.
56:40 I'm so thankful for the old rugged cross.
56:45 I'm thankful that Jesus died and He stayed on that cross
56:49 for you and for me.
56:53 Because He did, we'll be able to look up and say
56:57 "Lo, this is our God.
56:59 We prayed for this day.
57:04 We've longed for this day
57:07 and now He is coming. "
57:10 What a day... what a glorious day that will be.
57:16 Father in heaven, we thank you for that assurance.
57:22 We thank you that Jesus went to the cross
57:25 and died for each one of us.
57:28 Help us to claim it and receive it. In Jesus' name,
57:31 Amen.
