00:45 Good afternoon and welcome to 3ABN Fall Camp Meeting.
00:49 We're glad that you're joining us from all around the world 00:52 and we're glad that you folks here are here. 00:55 Some of us are just getting back from a big lunch. 00:57 Wow! We had some great food, didn't we, 00:59 in the cafeteria? Yes we did. I'm standing here with Darla. 01:02 Darla Price with NAPS. And I want to tell you something: 01:06 for those of you at home and those of you here 01:08 honestly I have dealt in 30 years with a lot of groups 01:12 of young people. I've never seen more people 01:15 have a desire to serve the Lord 01:18 through ministry than NAPS. 01:20 If you're looking for an organization to support 01:23 financially, this is the one. 01:25 And if you want to see your money go forward to 01:28 help young people to help others, 01:30 because they volunteer their time. 01:33 They're volunteering, but they're doing mission work 01:35 literally around the world. 01:37 Darla, you've been coming and ya'll have been coming to 3ABN. 01:40 How long've we been working together? 01:41 You got any idea? I know it's been over... I feel like 01:44 twenty years. I feel like it's been a long time. 01:46 Been a long time. You were really young I remember. 01:49 Not that you're old now... 01:51 I didn't mean that at all, 01:54 but you're just a little older than you were back then. 01:57 Yes. You're still young to me. 01:59 But thank you for what you do for the cause of God. 02:02 What a tremendous ministry that ya'll have. 02:04 And we're excited... Ya'll excited to see what they've been 02:07 doing? They're going to show us some pictures. 02:09 Then they're going to sing for us and top it off. 02:12 So that's called the icing on the cake. 02:14 So God bless ya'll. I love ya'll. 02:16 Thank you for coming. Any time you can come to 3ABN 02:19 we're going to put you on the air and we're going to ask 02:21 people to support this great ministry. 02:24 All right. Good afternoon everybody. 02:28 First of all, I want to thank 3ABN and all of you 02:33 just for the love and prayers that you have given us 02:36 throughout the years. We are NAPS: 02:39 The National Association for the Prevention of Starvation. 02:44 And what we are is we are a non-profit organization 02:49 based in Huntsville, Alabama. 02:52 And when you hear that we prevent starvation 02:55 you might be like: "Oh, a charity group that goes 02:58 and feeds children or people around the world. " 03:00 Well, we do that. But more important than the physical 03:03 starvation that we prevent 03:05 is the spiritual starvation that we prevent with God's help. 03:10 The organization has been around for over 35 years. 03:14 Thanks to support from people like you 03:17 we also are able to work with a group of young people. 03:20 You see young people before you right now 03:22 are both students and also graduates 03:25 that are taking part in this work. 03:27 And over the years maybe you have seen us. 03:31 After the 9/11 tragedy that struck over a decade ago 03:36 NAPS was one of the first responders. 03:38 We heard about it while we were in school. 03:40 That tells you how old I am. 03:42 Heard about it while I was in school in Huntsville 03:45 and we said: "We have to do something. " 03:47 So we got in our vans. Drove and drove 03:51 and it was amazing. When you go to do God's work 03:53 God will just open doors. 03:56 Every block that was put there moved as our vans with trailers 04:00 entered Ground Zero. And when we got there we realized 04:03 God did not bring us to use the shovels that we came with 04:06 but instead we broke out the band. 04:08 We have a marching band, and for eight hours, over 8 hours, 04:12 the marching band went from fire station... You'll see 04:14 a picture from one of the fire stations that we were able 04:18 to go by and just encourage fire station firemen who had lost 04:22 their loved ones. And they said: "You guys 04:25 are amazing. You really have encouraged us. 04:28 People brought us water, but we had that and clothes 04:30 but we had that. 04:32 You guys traveled 24 hours to bring us love 04:35 and that's the thing that we felt like we had lost. " 04:37 And after... That's been over a decade 04:41 but more recent tragedies even including the shooting 04:43 in Connecticut. God will lead your path. 04:47 And that's what we are. We're just young people 04:49 saying: "Lord, use us. " We were actually in Florida 04:52 when the tragedy struck at Sandy Hook. 04:54 And we said: "I know we're on another mission... " 04:57 It was our Christmas mission going to pass out literature, 05:00 but we said: "We have to make a turn in what we are doing. " 05:03 And so we went up to Connecticut 05:05 and we were able to... There's a picture that shows 05:08 just the love. We were able to go to different funerals 05:13 and sing for some of the families who had 05:16 lost loved ones. And so I know for me that 05:19 was very emotional. 05:22 During our holiday breaks we're still also able to go to 05:25 different parts of the country and do literature evangelism. 05:29 We go door to door spreading out this gospel in books like 05:32 Steps to Christ as well as another book called 05:35 The Great Controversy... one of my personal favorites. 05:38 And this book is actually very special because 05:41 last year we were able to spread over 20,000 of these books. 05:45 And these are the books that Ellen White tells us we should 05:47 spread like the leaves of autumn. 05:49 And NAPS doesn't pass out books the traditional way. 05:52 We actually get our marching band together. 05:54 So if any young people have played some instruments 05:57 use it for the Lord. We go... We'll march down a street 05:59 and people will say: "Ooh, a parade! " 06:02 And when they come out, we're like: 06:03 "It's better than a parade. We came to bring you hope. " 06:06 And so that's how we pass out our books, 06:08 and people will give donations as well. 06:11 During our breaks. You may say: "How do you do this 06:13 and do school? " Well, during our breaks is when 06:16 we do most of our mission. So Thanksgiving break and 06:19 Spring break and sometimes even the weekends 06:21 you'll find us going places. 06:23 Some of you maybe have seen us at your church. 06:26 And when we go, we'll actually stop by. We'll do community 06:30 service. We'll help homeless. 06:33 We'll even, as we're helping the homeless - 06:36 you meet them in different places - we'll help churches 06:39 who are having any events going on. 06:41 But we also will go by schools. 06:45 And that's my favorite. My degree is in elementary 06:47 education and so I love working with the children 06:51 and going 'cause there's so many kids. They're so into their 06:53 games that they've forgotten Jesus. And so being able 06:56 to encourage them that this is the reason why we live 06:59 is so powerful. And so the schools are my favorite. 07:03 BUT one thing that we notice is that even with our ministry 07:07 people - the schools - they're closed a lot of times during 07:10 break so we are missing them. 07:12 And so eleven years ago some students said: 07:14 "We need to change our schedule. We can't just go during our 07:17 breaks. We want to take a year off and just go from 07:21 school to school. Go from neighborhood to neighborhood 07:23 for one year - God has given us all these years of our lives - 07:27 one year... I want to give it back to Him. " 07:29 And so we have a group called "The Year of Dedication. " 07:31 And not everybody does it, but some students decide 07:34 that they want to for a year take a part in this. 07:37 Anybody here who has done a year of dedication 07:39 you can raise your hand. So these are some of our troopers. 07:43 Some of them are on the field right now 07:45 and that's why we're able to keep this work... 07:48 finish this gospel! And so... we also, though, 07:51 do foreign work. And so Kristen and Jermaine are going to 07:55 share with you a testimony from our most recent mission. 07:59 So God has really really blessed NAPS to go all around 08:04 the world. We've been to so many different places 08:07 whether that's Liberia, Ethiopia, Costa Rica, 08:11 Haiti, Jamaica. Um... everywhere that you can possibly think of 08:16 most of them we've probably... Well, some of them we've 08:18 probably been to. But God has really blessed us with 08:21 the opportunity, and we want to share with you a testimony 08:24 from the most recent mission we've been on, 08:26 and it was this past summer in Zimbabwe. 08:29 Yes. This past summer in Zimbabwe we were there. 08:32 Even with Kristen and myself. Um-hmm. As we were there 08:35 we gathered with the local conference in Zimbabwe 08:39 and we went to a rural area there called Kanimba. 08:42 While we were in this village 08:45 I saw people that never heard about God before. 08:50 I walked for 45 minutes to the bottom of the mountain 08:53 and there some people were isolated. 08:56 Never heard of whether there's a God 08:58 because they worship their ancestors. 09:01 I saw people who didn't even have food to eat. 09:06 One meal per day. Some people would even skip days 09:09 before they could even eat. 09:12 And it touched my heart so much. 09:14 One day I was even eating, and after we ate we would 09:18 throw our food in a pit and these little children 09:22 would come and go into the pit to take out what was left. 09:28 That was the condition that they lived in. 09:34 But God blessed us so much that when we went there 09:38 and we started to share the love of God 09:40 that their countenances changed in a moment. 09:45 People who had no clothes 09:48 now could walk with clothes on their back. 09:51 People who had no food could eat because God led us there 09:56 to feed them. And even while we were there 10:00 we gave about 400 Bible studies 10:05 and we fed about 2,000 people that were there. 10:12 And that just shows that we need to go and just do the work. 10:17 Not only that... Not only did we meet the needs of the people 10:20 but the most important need that needed to be met 10:23 was people in the villages knowing about Christ. 10:27 And we had the privilege of witnessing 219 people 10:33 being baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist church. 10:36 Amen! And I actually want to share a brief testimony about 10:40 one of the people who got baptized into the church. 10:43 And his name was Desire. 10:45 Now I remember... We were there for six weeks 10:49 within Zimbabwe, and the very last week our leader had said: 10:54 "OK guys, we're going to go out to a new village. " 10:57 It's only 7 days that we had 10:59 to evangelize a whole entire village. 11:02 And it was huge! So what we decided to do 11:05 was go out into the market places and hold an evangelistic 11:08 meeting there. We would put up these big speakers 11:11 and you know we would just all be preaching and singing 11:14 and, you know, welcoming the families to come. 11:17 And we'd be doing Bible studies during that time. 11:20 And at the end of 5 days the same young gentleman 11:23 Desire decided he wanted to give his heart to God. 11:26 But the best part about it 11:28 was he now wanted to bring others to Christ the same way 11:32 he was brought. And literally his whole family 11:36 he shared testimonies with them about the new truth 11:38 that he found. To the point where the day after he got 11:42 baptized he shared his testimony with a young lady, and she, too, 11:46 decided to be baptized. So it's not just that. 11:49 You know, we're going out and sharing the truth 11:51 but we're also making disciples. 11:54 And we're going to show a brief video clip on Desire. 12:42 Amen! And since 1978 12:47 NAPS has now baptized over 17,000 people. Amen! 12:52 And God... it's only by His Holy Spirit that we've been able 12:56 to do this work. Amen! And whenever we go to different 12:59 countries what we do: we not only win souls 13:03 but we also train them. So we launch our different 13:06 branches everywhere we go. 13:08 So if we go to like Jamaica we set up a branch there. 13:11 We train some young people there to just continue the work. 13:14 Zimbabwe... we set up some branches there 13:16 and we just trained them to continue the work. 13:19 Because God says that until this gospel is preached to every 13:23 nation THEN the end shall come. 13:27 And so now you've heard a bit about the foreign work 13:30 that has been done, but we also do a work here. 13:34 How many of you have heard about the Southern work? 13:37 It's a commission that Ellen White spoke about... 13:40 the Southern work. And since NAPS has started 13:43 that has been one of the foundations of where we have 13:46 been working. The conditions there are worse than some of 13:50 the Third World countries that I've been to. 13:52 And you can't imagine that in the States 13:55 there are people who are being turned away from receiving 13:57 medical care because of the color of their skin. 14:00 Right here in the States. And this is something that 14:03 we've experienced. People who watch as their mother 14:06 passes away and the ambulance doesn't arrive for 45 minutes 14:10 after the call has been made. 14:11 And so we as young people said: "We have to make a difference. " 14:15 And so we actually have built a wellness center 14:19 down in the South with our own hands. 14:21 And Darnell's going to talk a little bit about his experience 14:24 with that and then we have a video to show. 14:26 All right. So about three years ago 14:30 when NAPS was first starting up building the wellness center 14:33 I was a freshman in college. 14:35 And I had spent my weekend to go down there to see this 14:39 wonderful project that they were building. 14:41 And when I went down there all I saw was strings... 14:44 some strings going around. 14:46 And I said: "I came all the way down here 14:49 for the weekend to see these strings! " 14:52 But I could have never imagined that... that after all of that, 14:58 after just the strings being there... that now 15:02 it's a whole building there. And not only that, but that I was 15:06 able... that I would be able to help in building the dorms... 15:10 the dorms. You know, I was able to do electrical work 15:13 in some of the dorms. Plumbing; putting up the walls. 15:16 Like I could never have imagined doing things like that 15:19 and the training that I was able to get. And now I'm 15:21 so happy that God has opened up the door so that 15:25 the people of that area are... 15:26 are going to be able to receive care. 15:28 And not only that, but we're also working on a school. 15:32 On getting a school in the area as well, because 15:35 just as the healthcare system is failing that area 15:38 so is the educational system. 15:40 And we know how powerful education can be... 15:43 especially Adventist education. 15:45 And our goal is to bring the needs to that area. 15:49 And so we have a video - yes - about the wellness center. 17:55 ...that you have heard about today. It would not be possible 17:58 without support from people like you who care 18:01 not only prayerfully but financially as well. 18:04 And you know we know that God has not only called us to do 18:07 a special work but He has called you as well. 18:10 And so right now we're going to be singing a special song 18:13 for you. And when we travel overseas 18:16 and we visit different villages, oftentimes we learn 18:18 the songs - learn many different songs - from the people who we 18:21 give Bible studies to. And they tell us to come back to America 18:25 and to give these songs to our brothers and sisters 18:28 that are here. And so the song that we want to sing to you 18:31 comes from Zambia, Africa. 18:33 It's in the Bemba language and it says that the Creator 18:36 has called us to do many different types of work 18:39 and it's telling us to keep working. 18:41 To go and work for Him but to keep on working for Him. 18:44 And it's called Imelimo. 18:46 And we want to dedicate this song to all of the church 18:48 workers as well as to the NAPS alumni who are now serving as 18:52 pastors, doctors, and teachers 18:54 and many other professions around the world. 21:09 Amen. 21:17 Every time 3ABN has NAPS come and be a part of this ministry 21:21 we are blessed. Can you see why? 21:23 They're doing an incredible job 21:26 touching needs of people all over the world 21:29 and we appreciate them very much. 21:31 Well I'm going to ask Jay Christian to come out now. 21:33 He is the manager of 3ABN Radio. 21:37 And 3ABN Radio has about 250 affiliates over the world. 21:42 And we need to just keep praying because in every community 21:46 that 3ABN Radio goes into 21:48 the Lord is lifted up and people are drawn to Him. 21:52 As a matter of fact, we have 3ABN Radio in this community. 21:55 It's 95.9 if you look for it on your radio dial. 21:59 And what we have found is this church has grown 22:04 as a result of 3ABN Radio - yes, definitely - 22:07 as have other churches in this area. 22:10 As a matter of fact, last night 22:12 I met a couple here - a family, actually - 22:15 and they were visiting. They love Doug Batchelor 22:20 so they... And to love Doug Batchelor, what does that 22:23 tell you? They're not members of the Adventist church. 22:26 They've been watching and listening to somebody. 22:29 And so I asked them: "What church do you normally attend? " 22:34 And they told me and they said: "But, we're kind of between 22:37 churches right now, and we've been listening to 3ABN Radio 22:41 for many years. " Praise God! So that is such an encouragement. 22:45 So Jay, tell us what's happening at 3ABN Radio. 22:48 OK, Mollie. Thank you. 22:50 We are so excited at 3ABN Radio. 22:54 Now raise your hands if this is the first report by me 22:59 that you've heard. Your very first. 23:02 OK. There's a good amount of you in here, but there's also 23:04 a good amount of people who have heard me give reports before. 23:08 And I always say that we're really excited at 3ABN Radio 23:12 because we're really excited at 3ABN Radio! 23:16 There is so much going on. 23:18 And one of the things that I want to encourage you to do 23:22 is to pray for us, because like the regular 3ABN television 23:28 ministry we are very active. There's a lot going on. 23:32 We are getting more and more affiliates. 23:34 Just a few months ago we had a new list printed up 23:38 of our radio affiliates and before it was finished 23:41 it was out of date. The reason for that is 23:44 because we got more affiliates. 23:46 And so there's a lot to do... a lot to keep up with. 23:49 And we ask for your prayers because we definitely need them. 23:53 We want to remind you that they've been talking about 23:57 the 3ABN app that's available. 24:00 We encourage you to also remember that there are the 24:04 radio networks on there. There's the 3ABN English 24:07 and there's also the Russian radio network that's on there 24:11 and the Latino. 24:13 So please remember that as well. 24:15 We have some new affiliates we would like to say welcome to. 24:19 In Payson, Arizona: 89.3 FM 24:24 In Alvarado, Texas: 89.1 FM 24:29 Those are full-power radio stations by the way. 24:33 We have a new low-power FM station in Hager City, WI, 104.7 24:39 and we have a couple that are 24:41 we hope pretty close to going on the air now... 24:43 low-power FM stations 24:46 and they are in Fairmont, West Virginia: 98.3 24:52 and in Piqua, Ohio, at 95.1 24:56 So those are just the latest ones. 24:59 We have... it seems like every week we're getting numerous 25:02 calls from people that have received a construction permit 25:06 for their radio station that they're building 25:09 or maybe they are broadcasting other programming and they 25:13 would like to come with the 3ABN Radio Network. 25:16 And so we're hearing from these people all of the time 25:19 and it's very exciting. 25:21 We have in Australia some new people getting ready to come on. 25:26 Actually I think that these are already on. 25:29 Now I'm not Australian... OK? 25:33 So anybody listening in Australia, if I mispronounce 25:38 your city I apologize but I'm doing the best that I can. 25:42 Glen Innes, New South Wales 87.6 25:49 Kyogle, New South Wales 87.6 25:55 Victoria Point in Queensland 87.8 25:59 Stanthorpe, Queensland 88 FM 26:04 and Busselton, Western Australia. And that station 26:07 is under construction. We hope to have them come on line soon. 26:11 We've also as a radio network - and this is all I'm going to 26:14 tell you... I'm just going to tease you a little bit... 26:16 that's all this is - we are discussing some new projects. 26:20 We are very evangelistic- minded. You know that. 26:23 And we are trying to find new ways - different ways - 26:27 to get 3ABN Radio Network 26:30 into different communities and different things so that people 26:35 can stumble upon us and hear us. 26:38 That is often how we get the largest listenership that we can 26:43 because people are punching through the dial 26:46 and they hear something. "What? What was that? " 26:49 And they go back and they listen and it captures 26:50 their attention. By the way, speaking of Australia, 26:56 3ABN Australia... I don't know if you're familiar with this 26:59 or not, but 3ABN Australia has just begun 27:05 a new feed, if you want to call it that, 27:08 for our affiliates there. They are inserting Australian 27:13 programming into our regular feed. 27:15 And so now I'm sure the Australians are very happy 27:19 to hear some of our programming without accents. 27:22 So they'll be happy about that. But that's just starting. 27:25 It has just started, and so pray for them as well. 27:30 We continue to hear from radio stations seeking information on 27:33 how to become affiliates. And that's extremely important 27:35 because often we don't even know these radio stations exist. 27:39 We don't know anything about them and they contact us. 27:43 Now Mollie alluded to this when we were talking, 27:48 and I think probably one of the things that is 27:52 really affects us is when we hear the stories 27:56 of the people that are listening to us 27:59 and how it affects them 28:01 and the things that they learn from us 28:06 and the way that 3ABN Radio ministers to them. 28:10 We... like Mollie also mentioned... 28:14 there have been so many people that have come into our 28:17 Thompsonville church strictly from the radio. 28:20 And some of them said: "I didn't even know you had the 28:22 television station. I was just listening on radio! " 28:25 And so you know, that's great. That's wonderful to hear 28:29 because we're making a difference in their lives. 28:31 Many of them have been baptized. 28:33 And so we are seeing... You've heard if you've watched 3ABN 28:37 television very much you've heard this story already 28:40 about how somebody shows up at the church ready to be baptized 28:44 because they were watching 3ABN television. 28:47 For 15 years now we've been hearing the same story 28:51 for 3ABN Radio. 28:53 And I will tell you every time we hear it today 28:58 we are just as excited as when we heard the first one 29:02 15 years ago. 29:05 One of our most active affiliates is Strong Tower Radio 29:08 in Michigan. 29:10 And Jillaine, who is sitting down here, was just telling me 29:14 before I came up a couple of stories from there. 29:17 And these are typical-type stories that we hear from our 29:22 affiliates all over. 29:25 She said that she just found out that 29:28 this week five people have contacted their local 29:34 Seventh-day Adventist churches saying: "We want Bible study. " 29:38 "We want to learn more about your church. " 29:41 "We want to join your church. " 29:43 And these are five people. Strong Tower Radio is in 29:45 Michigan. They've got several different radio stations around 29:49 the different cities there. But they are very active. 29:53 And here's a story that really tugs at your heartstrings. 29:58 We heard about a woman that has been in a nursing home 30:01 for the last couple of years nearing death. 30:04 And... can feel a little tug right there. 30:10 Having dealt with death recently, you know, in my life, 30:14 I can understand what the family goes through when the loved one 30:18 is dying. So... here is a woman that 30:23 is in a nursing home, lying there, and she knows 30:27 that she will not leave. And for two years 30:30 she's been listening to Strong Tower Radio 30:34 which is 3ABN Radio and then they put in some of their own 30:37 local programming as well. 30:39 And this woman's daughter called Strong Tower Radio 30:44 and said: "There has been such a difference 30:48 in my mother's life and her attitude. And she passed away 30:54 just recently... today or yesterday... 30:56 listening to Strong Tower Radio. 30:59 Listening to a favorite song on Strong Tower Radio. " 31:04 And you see what I'm saying? 31:06 These... You can't... There is nothing... there is 31:09 no salary, there is nothing on this earth that anybody 31:14 could give us that will mean more to us 31:19 than to hear these kinds of stories 31:23 and to make that difference. I've told you before 31:27 that we are just like 3ABN television. 31:31 We have a heart for evangelism. 31:34 I was just talking to some people 31:37 at lunch this afternoon. Their heart is to take this message 31:41 into Korea. Praise God! 31:45 Everywhere this message can go it needs to go. 31:50 Now if I can get serious for just a minute... 31:53 Well, I've been serious... a little more serious 31:57 we want to make sure that everybody understands 32:00 who 3ABN Radio is and what we do. 32:05 We've used the term evangelistic a lot, but there 32:09 are some people that call me and tell me: 32:12 "Well aren't you the church station? Aren't you the 32:15 official voice of the church? " 32:17 "Aren't you preaching to the choir? " 32:19 "What good are you? What good do you do? " 32:22 And so as they listen to me talk for about a half an hour 32:26 or 45 minutes in response to that 32:29 we tell them where our heart is. It's wonderful. 32:31 If you're... I would imagine most people here now 32:34 and most people watching and listening 32:36 are Seventh-day Adventists. Maybe not. 32:39 But if you are, you understand where our heart is from. 32:44 You're a Seventh-day Adventist? We want you to listen. 32:47 You're welcome. We love to have you with us. 32:50 But our heart is like your heart. 32:54 I have not met a Seventh-day Adventist yet 32:57 whose heart is not in evangelism. 33:00 And so we want to take this message to the world. 33:04 That's where it belongs. There is so much to do. 33:07 There is so little time left 33:11 that we've just got to get this message... So when we hear 33:14 about more affiliates, praise God! 33:17 We're just thrilled to death 33:19 when we hear stories about what a difference 3ABN Radio 33:23 has made in someone's life. 33:25 There's a man in North Carolina. He used to listen to one of our 33:28 affiliates. Unfortunately, they had to leave the air. 33:31 He's still listening online requesting material 33:33 to give to friends. 33:35 And we praise God for this sort of thing. 33:38 And because of you we can do this. 33:41 Thank you very much for your support. 33:46 Thank you Jay. 33:52 You know how the scripture says that the angels in heaven 33:55 rejoice when a lost one is found. 33:58 Well, when Nikki Anderson comes over to Jim Gilley's office 34:02 with another affiliate agreement for radio 34:05 we rejoice because we know there's going to be another 34:08 whole area of God's world that's going to be covered with 34:11 the three angels' messages. 34:14 With the message that will counteract the counterfeit 34:18 and people will learn of the Lord Jesus Christ. 34:22 We appreciate 3ABN Radio and we appreciate the hard work 34:25 that Jay and his team do. 34:27 Well I'm going to ask Tammy Chance to come out now. 34:30 Tammy is Danny's baby sister. She's a lot younger than him. 34:36 And she told me she'll pay me a whole lot of money 34:40 if I'd tell that she's a lot more beautiful... 34:42 which is the truth anyway. 34:45 Well I thought maybe if all these people would be for me 34:47 we could take up an offering and we could give it to you. 34:50 OK... I'll receive it. 34:51 And Tammy, you're going to sing for us: 34:54 "This World Is Not My Home. " 35:09 This world is not my home; 35:14 I'm just a passin' through. 35:18 My treasures are laid up 35:23 somewhere beyond the blue. 35:27 The angels beckon me 35:32 from heaven's open door 35:36 and I can't feel at home 35:41 in this world any more. 35:49 Oh Lord, You know, 35:52 I have no Friend like You. 35:55 If heaven's not my home, Lord, 35:59 Lord what will I do? 36:02 The angels beckon me 36:05 from heaven's open door 36:08 and I can't feel at home 36:11 in this world any more. 36:19 Just over in gloryland we'll live eternally. 36:25 The saints on every hand are shouting victory! 36:31 Their songs of sweetest praise 36:34 drift back from heaven's shore 36:37 and I can't feel at home 36:40 in this world any more. 36:45 Oh Lord, You know 36:48 I have no Friend like You. 36:52 If heaven's not my home, Lord, 36:55 Lord what will I do? 36:58 The angels beckon me 37:01 from heaven's open door 37:04 and I can't feel at home 37:07 in this world any more. 37:12 They're all expecting me 37:14 and that's one thing I know. 37:18 My Savior pardoned me 37:21 and now I onward go. 37:24 I know He'll take me through 37:27 tho' I am weak and worn 37:30 and I can't feel at home 37:33 in this world any more. 37:37 The angels beckon me 37:40 from heaven's open door 37:43 and I can't feel at home 37:46 in this world any 37:50 more. 37:57 Amen! Thank you, Tammy. 38:01 She might be his baby sister but the woman can sing! 38:04 Beautiful voice! We'll I'm going to ask John Dinzey 38:07 to come out and share with you now. 38:10 He's the general manager of 3ABN Latino. 38:13 And 3ABN Latino... Johnny, if you'll come on out... 38:16 is reaching all of the areas of the world that are 38:20 Spanish-speaking. Johnny, I believe you have told me 38:24 that the Spanish language... How many millions of people 38:29 speak the Spanish language? 38:31 Over 400 million. 38:33 So that is the area of the world - the population of this 38:36 world - that John Dinzey and 3ABN Latino Television Network 38:41 are striving to reach. 38:43 So we need to keep them in our prayers. 38:45 Johnny, tell our viewers and our audience here 38:49 how 3ABN Latino is doing. 38:51 Thank you very much. 38:54 When we say over 400 million 38:56 that includes people that speak it as the first language. 39:01 We don't have numbers for people that speak it as a second 39:04 language or a third language. 39:05 But that's a lot of people 39:07 that we have to reach for Jesus Christ. Amen? 39:10 So we are blessed to have a television network 39:13 that also has Portuguese programming 39:16 and there are over 200 million people that speak Portuguese. 39:20 And I want to thank the Lord for our staff of 3ABN Latino. 39:24 And I kind of have to work this through where they are 39:30 so I try not to forget anybody. 39:32 To the left of my office is Jorge Jaque. 39:36 He is our production manager. 39:38 And across from me we have Sr. Irma Murray. 39:43 now moved over to another spot... but she is... 39:45 helps us with assistant to production but also helps us 39:49 with marketing. And a little past her is Sr. Mayri Cruz 39:55 that helps us with coordinating our productions. 39:58 And as we go down the hallway we will run into our... 40:02 two editors that help us: Amy Sanchez and Alex Sanchez. 40:06 And one of the places I like to go to is the second floor 40:10 because my wife is there: Idalia Dinzey. 40:12 And she is our administrative assistant, 40:16 also editor to our Hoy magazine and many other things. 40:21 So if you keep going down the hallway you'll run into the 40:23 pastoral ministries department. We praise the Lord for 40:26 the help that our pastoral ministries department gives us. 40:30 We have one person there that speaks Spanish 40:32 and that's Dr. Senez Rodriguez 40:35 who recently joined the pastoral ministries department. 40:38 His wife Sonia is currently a volunteer in the Call Center. 40:40 So when I mention the Call Center it reminds me of 40:44 Rocio BarrĂ³n that is our Call Center representative 40:47 and does a marvelous job. 40:49 Her husband - Adam - he works in the original building 40:53 for 3ABN helping with our programming department. 40:58 And so I keep hearing the door over here make this strange 41:01 sound, and that's the way my wife calls me... so I keep 41:04 looking that way every time the door opens. 41:06 I want to tell you what the Lord is doing. 41:08 Over 1,200 cable companies have 3ABN Latino included 41:13 in their package. I say "Praise the Lord! " 41:16 That means that millions of people have access to 41:19 3ABN Latino. And I want to praise the Lord for this. 41:24 We are growing and we're getting into more places 41:28 and that means 24 hours a day evangelism 41:31 into those... in those cable companies. 41:34 And I remember... So many stories come to mind 41:37 I have to stop myself. I won't tell you that one now. 41:41 I want to tell you that 3ABN has been blessed 41:44 with about 127 downlinks. 41:47 We're in the process of converting them to digital. 41:50 Somewhere between... I have to ask Brother Moses, but 41:54 I am told it's nearly 100 have been converted. 41:56 That means that five channels get to be put on there. 41:59 One of them is 3ABN Latino. 42:01 And so we're getting into places that we have not been 42:05 before... on local TV 42:08 including places like Las Vegas and many places like this. 42:12 So last year about this time we received a surprise 42:16 through one of our engineers: Dan Peek. 42:19 He was informed by one of his engineer friends: 42:22 "We have nine TV stations 42:24 and we would like to know if 3ABN is willing to put on 42:28 3ABN Latino on these nine TV stations. " 42:31 And we were like: "Oh, absolutely! " 42:33 It was at no cost to us so how can you resist? 42:36 So we got into places like San Francisco, Fresno, 42:40 several places in California and several places in Texas. 42:45 I don't have time to mention them all at this moment. 42:47 But we have been receiving calls throughout the year 42:51 since last year from these areas. 42:54 The people are watching and have questions and want to know 42:57 where their Seventh-day Adventist church is. 42:59 And we say: "Praise the Lord! " 43:02 A few days ago I received an e-mail 43:06 that told me the good news that 3ABN Latino is now going to be 43:11 available in what you call the #5 TV market in the US 43:17 which is Dallas, Texas. 43:19 So we praise the Lord for this opportunity to reach more people 43:23 for Jesus Christ. And recently 43:27 Jorge Jaque, my wife Idalia and I returned from 43:30 Puerto Rico because the Vege Vista Church - 43:35 one of the churches in the west side of Puerto Rico - 43:38 recently completed installing equipment - 43:42 television equipment - and they want to produce 43:45 television programs. Some have already been produced 43:47 with our equipment, but now they have their own. 43:50 And they want to produce television programs so they can 43:53 send them to us so that we can continue adding variety 43:57 to our programming. And you know, the studios are very busy 44:01 here at 3ABN because not only is 3ABN English 44:04 producing and taping programs but Dare to Dream also 44:08 and Proclaim! and 3ABN Latino. 44:10 So we have to share the staff and the studios 44:12 and the equipment. And so we need places like Vege Vista. 44:16 And there are places... There's a studio in Mexico 44:21 still in process and another one coming in Puerto Rico 44:25 that's going to add to help us produce more programming. 44:29 And these are people - the two that I just mentioned - 44:32 are people that are doing it on their own but they want to 44:34 support us in taping programs so that we can continue 44:38 preaching the gospel. Would you say amen to that? 44:40 Amen. Jesus Christ is coming soon. 44:43 I must tell you that while we were in Puerto Rico 44:45 I was getting out of the car about to enter the church 44:49 and a lady stops and says: "Hey! You're John Dinzey! " 44:53 I say: "Yes. " She said: "I saw the announcement 44:56 that 3ABN was going to be here so I am here. " 45:00 And it was her first time coming to a SDA church. 45:05 So we praise the Lord that people are watching 45:07 and lives are being transformed. 45:09 And so that's my signal to tell you that we've met 45:12 executives from cable companies. I remember one that said to me 45:17 "I only watch two channels in my house. " 45:20 Now he has access to dozens of TV channels. 45:23 He said: "I only watch two channels. One is 3ABN Latino 45:27 and the other one is to watch the news. " 45:29 So I said: "Praise the Lord! " 45:31 He probably watches the news once a day 45:33 but he's watching 3ABN Latino. 45:35 He says: "I love the programming. You guys are 45:37 doing a great work. " We were at a cable convention 45:40 in... I forgot where and while we were there 45:44 from like 10-20 feet away 45:47 a cable executive - a lady - shouts: 45:50 "3ABN! I love 3ABN! 45:54 We have you on our cable system. I love 3ABN! " 45:57 I was like... Took us by surprise. I said: "Praise 45:59 the Lord! " And so we say: "Wow! 46:02 Cable executives are watching this! " 46:05 But you know... I have to tell you about a call that I received 46:09 a little while ago. I cannot mention the name of the 46:12 individual, but he was recording television programs 46:17 for his wife that's a very famous Spanish singer. 46:20 Also sings in English. And he says: "I'm here 46:24 watching... taping programs for my wife. " 46:26 He was in Las Vegas at that time. 46:28 He is a very famous secular music producer. 46:31 And so we are reaching people that... 46:35 You can't go to this man's house and knock on the door. 46:38 He's got dogs and gates and guards and probably body guards. 46:43 But it's coming into his house so we praise the Lord for that. 46:48 And so lives are being transformed. 46:52 Let me take a peek at my notes because there are many things 46:54 I have to share with you... see what I can skip. 46:57 You've heard about the island of Malta? 47:01 I received a call from the island of Malta when I was 47:03 working at 3ABN pastoral ministries department. 47:06 And I don't remember his name but I'm going to call him 47:08 Antonio. It's a good name: Antonio. 47:12 And he said: "I need some help! 47:14 I've been watching 3ABN and I'm ready to find 47:17 a Seventh-day Adventist church! 47:20 I'm calling from the island of Malta. 47:22 Do you know the island of Malta? " I said: "Yes! " 47:25 "That's where Paul was ship- wrecked. Right here! " he said. 47:29 And I said: "Yes, I know! " 47:31 He says: "Well, I looked in the phone book for the Seventh-day 47:33 Adventist church and I went there and it was closed. 47:36 Can you please give me the address where they moved to? " 47:39 And I said: "Sure. Let me give you a call back because we don't 47:42 have the island of Malta on our list. " 47:45 And so I called the Union. By the time he called 47:48 they were over there asleep and so I had to wait till the next 47:50 day. I called over there; they gave me the address. 47:53 So I called this man with this address 47:55 and he said: "That's the same address I went to and they were 48:00 not there. But don't worry. I already found them. " 48:04 It turns out they were remodeling the place 48:08 and that's why when he went it was closed. 48:10 So he found them. I don't know how he found them 48:12 but he found them. He says: "I'm already worshiping with 48:14 them. Thank you very much. I'll continue watching 3ABN. " 48:18 And I said: "Praise the Lord! The island of Malta and they're 48:21 watching 3ABN! " Great and mighty things are happening. 48:24 In Puerto Rico in an evangelistic campaign 48:29 I'm walking to the front to work with some of our material 48:31 that we have for the people and a man says to me: 48:34 "Hey! You're John Dinzey from 3ABN! I watch 3ABN. 48:39 You know what? I want to share my testimony with you" 48:41 he said. "I was out of the church 48:46 for over 15 years. I had no thoughts of going back 48:50 to the church" he tells me. 48:51 And then he said that they have a TV there 48:54 waiting for some fire. While they're waiting for a fire 48:57 and they're not doing something else they watch some TV. 49:00 And so one day he's in the room by himself 49:03 looking for something to watch. 3ABN Latino goes on. 49:08 He listens. "Hey, this seems to be a SDA channel! 49:13 I didn't know we had SDA TV channels. " 49:16 That's how long he's been gone. 49:19 And he starts watching this and the Lord says 49:23 "David, it's time for you to come back home. " 49:26 And he said: "I was re-baptized. After that I started talking 49:30 to people. 'Hey, let's watch 3ABN Latino. ' " 49:34 And he would turn on the TV there in the room 49:37 and he started a Bible study group in there. And he said: 49:43 "Three or 4 have... " - I don't remember if it was 3 or 4- 49:45 of the firemen were converted because of the Bible studies 49:49 he was giving there and watching 3ABN Latino. 49:51 And I say: "Praise the Lord! " 49:53 Hey, the clock just gave me more minutes. 49:55 Praise the Lord! I don't know if I'm supposed to stop or keep 49:58 going till the time is zero, but until somebody comes out 50:01 I'll go ahead and keep going. 50:03 So, I would like to... I would like to share with you 50:08 what God is doing. He's doing great and mighty things 50:12 and lives are being transformed. 50:15 It's amazing what God is doing! 50:18 It's amazing what God is doing. 50:20 In Mexico the local conference received a phone call 50:23 from the mayor. And they're like: "It's the mayor! " 50:29 "And yes, how can we help you? " 50:31 "Well, I've been watching 3ABN Latino 50:33 and they're talking about the Seventh-day Adventist church 50:36 there. So I've been watching the programming 50:38 and I think you guys are teaching what the Bible says 50:42 so I want more information about the Seventh-day Adventist 50:44 church. " I said: "Praise the Lord! " 50:47 Now I don't know if this was the mayor that we met 50:50 when my wife Idalia and I went this year 50:52 to Monterrey, Mexico, where there was a huge event. 50:56 And we met many people that came to the Lord through 51:00 watching 3ABN Latino. And that was only a portion we were told. 51:03 But I had the privilege of interviewing a mayor 51:07 and I didn't get to ask him if he was the same mayor 51:11 that called the conference. But this mayor 51:14 bas been supporting the church in different things 51:17 and in different ways, so you know God is working 51:19 in his life. And so, lives are being transformed. 51:25 Lives are being touched. 51:28 One of the people that they say are hard to reach 51:32 are people called the Witnesses. I don't know if they've knocked 51:34 on your door. But when I was in Costa Rica 51:39 the conference treasurer and the secretary of the conference 51:44 took me to a home to meet some people. 51:48 And soon they got there, and a lady came and told me 51:53 the story of her husband who was a Witness. 51:57 Just calling them Witnesses. 51:59 And she told me how her husband became sick 52:05 and was very sick and started watching 3ABN Latino 52:10 and studying the Bible with us. 52:11 And he said: "This is the truth! " 52:15 And he kept watching, and he tells his wife eventually 52:18 "Honey, we have to go visit the SDA church. " 52:22 And soon they were at the church. 52:25 Visited for several weeks and during that time 52:28 he made a commitment to be baptized. Amen! 52:32 I didn't get a chance to meet him, 52:34 but his wife said the last two weeks of his life... 52:37 of his life were very happy. 52:41 And he passed away two weeks after he was baptized. 52:46 And Maria... I don't remember her name... I have it written 52:49 somewhere... But Maria told me 52:52 "Let me call my father. He watches 3ABN Latino too. 52:57 He is a Witness for many years... over 50 years, " 53:01 she said, "but he watches 3ABN Latino. " 53:04 And I said: "I'd like to meet him. " 53:06 "I don't know if he will come because it's already 8:30 PM 53:11 and right around 8 o'clock he doesn't go anywhere. " 53:14 She called and she said: "John Dinzey from 3ABN Latino's 53:18 here. I just want to know if you want to meet him. " 53:22 "I'll be right over, " he said. 53:24 And I said: "Praise the Lord! " 53:26 And when he came he was a tall man. 53:29 He's like 88 years old. 53:32 And he was very happy to meet me and he said: 53:36 "It's wonderful to meet you Bro. Dinzey. " 53:40 Maria opened her eyes big. 53:42 I'll tell you why later. 53:44 And we talked a little bit and he told me about the programs 53:47 he likes to watch on 3ABN Latino 53:49 and mentioned several people. And we interviewed him. 53:55 We're going to show that on 3ABN Latino as soon as we 53:58 get that edited. But he said again: "It's 54:01 wonderful to meet you Bro. Dinzey. Keep up the good 54:03 work of preaching the gospel. " When he left 54:06 his daughter Maria said: "I can't believe he called you 54:10 brother! He doesn't do that to anybody else but from his 54:14 denomination. " And I said: "Well praise the Lord! " 54:18 While in Costa Rica I had the opportunity 54:23 to meet another man. They were having the Day of the Bible 54:28 there in Costa Rica during that day. 54:31 And that's when the government dedicated a day 54:34 for the Bible. And many people came to that meeting. 54:38 And I kept asking myself: "Why am I here? 54:41 I want to go visit cable companies. " 54:44 And the conference president brought me there, and eventually 54:47 you know I'm looking at the program, and he's not on the 54:50 list to speak. I said: "Why are we here? " 54:54 Well, we're supporting the event is what I came to 54:56 the conclusion. But eventually when he comes up - 54:58 the conference president - he says: "And we're happy 55:01 to have John Dinzey here from 3ABN. " Now all of a sudden... 55:05 "and I want him to come up. " 55:06 And I go up and now I'm speaking before leaders 55:09 of different denominations and I'm talking to some government 55:14 officials there... talking to them about 3ABN. 55:17 And I said: "Praise the Lord! " 55:19 Interestingly enough one of the persons I met 55:23 is a presidential candidate. 55:26 And when I shook his hand he says: "John Dinzey! 55:30 Please say hello to your wife Idalia. I watch her also 55:33 on the programming. And say hello to Pastor Bohr 55:36 and Pastor Buillon. " And he went on and named several people 55:39 and I said: "This man watches! " 55:41 He says: "I watch 3ABN Latino all the time! " 55:43 And when he had an opportunity to go up there 55:46 he said: "I want to encourage everybody to watch 3ABN 55:50 Latino. They have good programming. 55:52 They teach about the Bible and that's why we're here. " 55:55 And I said: "Praise the Lord! " 55:58 I don't know if he'll become president but I think we'll have 56:01 a good friend there if he does. 56:03 And so... Wow! Time flies! 56:09 So what we see here is that God is preparing this earth 56:13 for a great harvest of souls. 56:14 Boy, I wish I had time to tell you one more. 56:18 Let me tell you about Pastor Funes. Pastor Funes... 56:20 we met him in California. Pastor Funes... had not seen him 56:24 for close to 30 years. I was a little guy 56:28 when I saw him move away from the Chicago area 56:31 and now I saw him there in California. 56:34 And after talking with him they told me this story. 56:39 45 seconds... They told me this story: 56:42 his brother was not a Seventh-day Adventist. 56:45 In fact, he is an atheist. And here he is with a 56:48 brother that's a pastor... Seventh-day Adventist pastor... 56:51 and his brother is an atheist. 56:53 And they have prayed for him year after year 56:56 and no, no, no. 56:57 He got sick, they thought he was going to die 56:59 an atheist. Worried about him. 57:01 He began to watch TV. During the last moments of his life 57:05 they thought he was going to die and go to the grave 57:06 without Jesus Christ... but he found 3ABN Latino. 57:10 Started watching, and the Lord transformed his life 57:14 and he became a SDA before he passed away. 57:17 So I said: "Praise the Lord! " Great and mighty things 57:21 are happening, and 3ABN is going around the world 57:24 transforming lives because Jesus Christ IS coming very soon. 57:28 Amen! |
