00:45 Wow! What a beautiful day this has been, Danny.
00:48 Absolutely. Gorgeous day and great people here, too. 00:51 Wow! Really are. And these people have come from all over 00:55 the place. I see that... I see that. 00:56 I asked them to raise their hands before we went on air 00:59 how many of you are visitors, and I had to re-phrase 01:01 the question: how many local people do we have? 01:04 Right. 'Cause there were a whole lot more visitors. 01:06 And we appreciate both you local people coming, I want you 01:09 to know that. It was... but a big group here 01:14 just from all over the place. 01:16 Absolutely; absolutely. We're so happy that you came 01:19 to 3ABN, and for those of you watching from around the world 01:22 it's a privilege. It's amazing if you think about it 01:26 all the channels, all the... radio, the television 01:28 and all the things that they could be doing. 01:30 And thank you for taking the time to watch 3ABN, 01:33 to join us here at Camp Meeting. 01:35 And thank you for your love and your prayers and financial 01:37 support. Amen. Without all of you and all of you folks here 01:40 3ABN would be just a dream. 01:42 But thanks to you we're heralding with God's blessing 01:46 literally this message is going around the world 01:49 24/7 at the speed of light: 186,200 miles per second. 01:55 Isn't that amazing? It is! What a time in which we're 01:57 living. Somebody happy about that? 01:59 Amen! I am. Because it means Jesus is coming soon. 02:03 It does. You know something? One of the things that we do 02:06 before we start any meeting when we're meeting at 3ABN 02:11 is we have prayer. And so many times, Danny, 02:14 when we're in a meeting with... This is 3 of what we call ADCOM. 02:19 Brian Hamilton is the fourth member. 02:21 One of the things I really, really am blessed by 02:25 is when Mollie prays. Um-hmm. 02:27 Mollie, would you lead us in prayer 02:29 to start this Camp Meeting? I would be so happy to. 02:32 Holy Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus 02:35 and we praise You and thank you, Lord, 02:37 for Your grace and mercy that You extend to us. 02:39 For those mercies that are renewed every morning 02:41 and we receive them from You, Lord. 02:44 And Father, we thank you for all of these people that have come 02:47 and we ask, Lord, that You would open up all of our hearts. 02:51 As Pastor Bachelor brings the Word, that that Word would go 02:56 into our heart, it would take root and it would grow 02:58 and it would change every one of us into Your image and into 03:01 Your likeness. We praise You, Lord, for the power that's in 03:04 Your Word to change us. And we all came standing 03:07 before You wanting to be changed... 03:10 to be like You, holy God. 03:12 And Father, we pray that all of those that are coming 03:15 there would be traveling mercies to bring them safely here 03:18 and for all of us, Lord, as we depart 03:20 that You would give us traveling mercies to get 03:22 safely back home. Now we commend this into Your hands 03:25 in the name of Jesus, Amen. Amen! Amen! 03:28 All right. Well, we have a special guest tonight 03:31 that we're going to introduce. And I'd like for him to come out 03:35 and come to the piano. It's none other than Mr. Lari Goss. 03:38 And it's OK to let Lari know you're happy that he's here. 03:42 Amen! All right. 03:45 Thank you, Lari. 03:47 And, Jim, as you know and a lot of you folk 03:51 know who Lari Goss is. Lari is a legendary 03:53 arranger/composer. He's worked for many, many years. 03:58 The Goss Brothers, you remember, when they were barely teenagers 04:01 had a group. But he does arrangements for Sandi Patty, 04:05 for Brooklyn Tabernacle, for Larnelle Harris... 04:08 all these folks that you've heard the orchestration. 04:12 And Lari's been doing this for so many years. 04:14 And what a blessing to get him to work with us 04:16 on a new project. And this new project is 04:19 our Second Coming project. So we've written some songs. 04:23 Lari's helped us with some of them. 04:24 Yvonne Lewis helped and I've done some. 04:27 Then we've taken some of the old songs and we just turned Lari 04:30 loose and we said: "Lari, just do what the Lord impresses you 04:34 to do. " And the music on this is absolutely fabulous. 04:38 And we say that: we give God the credit 04:41 even though it's coming through Lari Goss because 04:43 He uses frail human agents. That should encourage all of us 04:47 that God has a plan for you. Has something special 04:50 for you to do. You may not be an arranger like Lari Goss 04:53 but you have a way of reaching people. 04:56 Because when Jesus was on the cross I like to say He could 04:59 look down the stream of time and He could see each and every 05:02 one of us. Yes. Right? Amen. And He's looking for a people 05:06 willing to give their lives unto death if necessary 05:08 for the cause of God. And if you love somebody, 05:11 you're going to tell everybody about it, right? 05:13 Amen! And Lari loves Jesus, and I haven't heard him get up 05:16 and preach yet. He might be a good preacher. 05:18 I'm not so sure about that, but I sure know 05:21 that he's a master musician. 05:23 And we're so thankful that he's here. We actually 05:26 combined together with him. And he came to 3ABN studio 05:31 and did a brand new CD. No one's ever heard it. 05:34 You guys are the first ones to see it. 05:37 It's available here at Camp Meeting. 05:38 So we want you to get this. And it's just piano solo 05:42 and it's just a bunch of hymns. And Lari loves hymns 05:46 and he said: "I just... I'll do it but... " 05:48 I said: "Do you want to put some of your own orchestration? " 05:50 He said: "Not this time. 05:52 I think I'll just do something, just sit at the piano 05:54 and play. " This is so not only beautiful, folks, 05:58 but it's anointed. And I could just sit and listen to it. 06:02 I mean, just... No matter how you're feeling, 06:04 how up tight you are, I will guarantee you 06:07 when you listen to this it'll just bring you to the foot 06:10 of the cross. So I want to encourage those of you at home 06:13 you can get them through 3ABN. 06:15 And they're Forever Hymns by Mr. Lari Goss. 06:20 All right. We're looking forward to hearing some of those. 06:23 Could he play one for us now? 06:25 He's going to play one, but we've got a surprise for him. 06:27 Now we're friend's, aren't we? We love each other? 06:31 We are right now. 06:34 We are right now. Well, Lari plays... he's played 06:38 before the world and he never gets nervous. 06:40 But I saw... Where's Carolyn? His wife's here. 06:43 Carolyn, I saw a little bit of nervousness in him 06:45 while ago because I said: "We have a surprise for you. " 06:49 And he's like: "Oh, I don't want any surprises. " 06:51 I said: "No... we have a surprise. " 06:53 "What is it? " I said: "You'll just have to wait. " 06:55 We're going to do it for him. He said: "It's nothing bad 06:57 I hope. " "No, no. " But we have a surprise for Lari 07:00 and we're going to let the whole world see it right now. 07:02 He's not seen it... but we're going to put it on right now. 07:06 There's a little video while we're in the studio 07:08 putting together this huge project on the 07:11 second coming of Christ. It just gives you a little 07:14 preview of what we have been doing there. 07:36 I've been doing this for about 35 or 40 years. 07:38 In my younger years I was trying to write more 07:41 and trying to be more elaborate with my orchestrations 07:46 and trying to impress people with what I did. 07:48 And the older I got the more I began to realize 07:51 that sometimes simple is best 07:55 and sometimes you have to - and I use this word 08:00 carefully here - but you have to kind of "dummy down" 08:03 your arrangements and your input musically to make sure 08:08 that you never cover up the message of the song. 08:11 Because the music is only there - whether it's an 08:15 orchestration or just a piano part or whatever it is - 08:18 it's only there to compliment or to help bring forth 08:23 the message of the song. 08:24 So to me that's what it's all about. 08:37 Sometimes if it's very compli- cated and I'll write chords 08:40 but then when we get into the key I'll write numbers. 08:44 That's just in case you want to change keys 08:47 later on I don't have to re-write it. I can just read 08:51 the numbers in another key and these can read the numbers. 08:55 And that's how I normally write charts. 09:11 We see Christ... 09:16 see Christ! Yeah! 09:19 Three counts on it, and then Yvonne - wherever you are - 09:24 see Christ. Oh, OK... great, great. 09:28 See ah... all right. Any questions? 09:34 Anybody? Girls? Boys? Anybody? 09:58 There's two things involved when God has given you a gift. 10:05 There is the service that you do 10:09 which is whether it's being a musician, 10:13 orchestrator, or whether you're running a TV network 10:15 or being a cameraman or whatever you're doing, 10:19 there's a service involved - an actual work that has 10:22 to be done - and then there is a passion that goes with that. 10:27 And if you have a passion for what you do 10:31 for the Lord, regardless of what that service is 10:35 if it's connected to a passion 10:38 then that passion and that service together 10:41 it becomes a ministry. Without the passion 10:45 it just becomes "another day at the office" 10:48 or just a job or work. 10:50 Now let's keep it tight but let's also get our heart in it 10:52 and get our passion in it and keep focused on 10:55 what we're singing about... because your passion 10:59 will convey quicker than your music will. I like that. Um-hmm. 11:04 And so that's what we want to capture in this song. Yeah, OK. 11:07 Let's have a prayer together, all right? 11:09 I have had a wonderful ex- perience in the past few months 11:13 of getting to know Danny and all the people at 3ABN. 11:16 And I want to thank them for giving me the opportunity 11:20 to share the gospel with other people through 3ABN. 11:25 So folks, thank you very much. God bless you. 11:28 All right. Amen! 11:30 Now that wasn't too bad, was it Lari? 11:33 OK... pretend I didn't ask that question. 11:38 All right. Well... if you think that was bad, 11:40 I've got another one for you. 11:42 I haven't even seen this. 11:44 Oh-oh. But I don't know... if somebody gives me a "thumbs up" 11:47 we'll do it. Oh, Greg did. So if you don't like it, 11:50 there's Greg Morikone. You can talk to him about it. 11:54 So have we another little video surprise that 11:57 was just taken this afternoon. I just heard about it - 12:00 Oh no! - so I'll watch it too with you. 12:09 Oh, you threw me a drop ball. 12:13 Breaking ball on that one. 12:16 Who saw it? There's the 3ABN police. 12:22 Oh... show off right there. 12:25 Threw me a little curve there. 12:32 OK. I didn't see that myself, so that was a first over there. 12:35 I did know they got me with one behind my back. 12:38 So they didn't get you... or did you catch one like that? 12:41 No, no, no, no... I caught it the right way. 12:45 Yeah, I know. I probably am responsible for losing 12:49 a few games. My brother Kenny's over there. 12:51 We used to play fast pitch. We found out we have a lot 12:53 in common. Lari loves baseball and softball 12:56 and my brothers and I... we used to play, too. 12:58 Probably I've lost a few games for Kenny by trying 13:01 to catch them behind my back rather than maybe here. 13:04 You know, the little show-off thing. But 13:06 I've repented of that now, Kenny. I'm sorry if I 13:08 cost us any games. But once again, folks, 13:11 if you're just joining us we have Bro. Lari Goss 13:13 from Nashville, Tennessee. His wife Carolyn is out here. 13:16 What a privilege to work with Lari. 13:18 We have been so blessed. I never dreamed when we started 13:21 this ministry almost 30 years ago 13:23 where the Lord would take us. 13:26 And we always wanted to be a blessing to people 13:29 but through the years consistently we meet people 13:32 like Kris Wilkinson. We meet so many of the musicians, 13:36 Lari Goss... all of these people that we never dreamed 13:39 we'd be able to work with, and we find out that they bless us. 13:42 Their music and what they allow God to do through them 13:46 is absolutely amazing. It's incredible. 13:49 So again, we give God the credit. 13:51 I'm not just lifting up Lari 13:53 but I want to uplift the Jesus in him. Amen! 13:55 And tonight we're actually featuring a couple songs 13:58 from his Forever Hymns. 14:00 I want to thank E.T. Everett and Bobby Bradley 14:03 for working over here in our sound studio with you 14:05 at the sound center. 14:08 And right now maybe why don't you just play a song? 14:10 How about like Old Rugged Cross or something? 14:13 Sure. OK. 16:28 That was very beautiful. One of my favorite all-time songs. 16:31 I think one of the most beautiful songs ever written - 16:34 and apparently you feel that way too - 16:36 is No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus. 16:40 Yes, I love that song. Lari Goss: 16:42 What I like about this song is what the artist wrote 16:47 or what the composer wrote: "All my life was filled 16:49 with sin and misery and my heart was filled with misery 16:54 and woe. Then Jesus placed His strong and loving arms 16:59 around me and He led me in the way... " Amen! 17:03 "that I should go. " Amen! 17:06 No one ever... no one EVER - 17:10 all right - cared for me like Jesus. Amen! 20:35 Amen. Amen! Thank you very much. 20:44 Absolutely beautiful. 20:46 Once again, we have these now at 3ABN. 20:48 For those of you at home that you're watching on television, 20:51 listening on radio: these are available. 20:53 And you're going to hear another... I'm not sure... 20:55 Let's see... 11 songs, so you're going to hear 9 more songs 20:58 just this beautiful, just this anointed. 21:01 And that's what's so important to me 21:03 is what an anointing. Didn't you feel closer to Jesus 21:06 just then really? Amen! Am I the only one or is that? 21:09 Do you feel that way? When you're there it's just like 21:11 can you imagine what heaven is going to be like? 21:14 I mean, this is... Lari's good but just think 21:17 when he gets to heaven he won't even make the B team 21:20 if he used his talents here. 21:21 You would be like me... you'd be in the C or D up there. 21:24 But thank the Lord, He's going to give all of us those kind of 21:27 talents, Lari. I know, and I can catch a ball 21:29 behind my back when I get there, too. 21:33 Well, I tell you what: I'd trade you to play like that 21:35 and let you have the ball behind your back, 21:37 right? What an incredible gift. 21:40 I want to talk for just a moment about the Second Coming project. 21:44 You were here at Spring Camp Meeting. 21:46 Yes. This week we just videotaped. 21:49 We would have done it live, but Reggie and Ladye Love Smith, 21:52 they had other plans. I can't imagine... 21:55 they're going to go be with Dr. Dobson this weekend 21:57 rather than to be with us. 21:59 No, I'm just kidding... because they planned this 22:00 a long time ago. They do a lot of work for Dr. Dobson - 22:04 Focus on the Family - yes - and other groups. 22:07 And we're happy for that, but they said: "Man, we want to 22:10 be here but we didn't get our dates right so... " 22:12 And I take the blame. I said: "I think I didn't give you 22:15 the right dates. " So they said: "But we want to be a part 22:18 of this project. " So Wednesday - which was 22:21 yesterday - we actually videotaped this whole 11 songs 22:25 of the second coming. And we worked for a long time, 22:28 Lari... all of us... to get this project out. 22:32 Yes. But you said it actually, and it was profound to me, 22:36 because you said... and you've been doing music 22:38 like this for 40 years... but you said this project 22:41 has strengthened your faith. You know what, Danny? 22:44 It really has. When I heard the choir sing 22:50 and when we went through this music 22:53 it captured my heart. 22:55 It just embraced me. 22:58 And when you capture my heart you capture a part of my life. 23:03 OK. So I felt automatically united 23:08 with 3ABN and with what you're doing here 23:11 and felt a small part of such a huge, tremendous organization 23:16 that you have here. And so it just thrilled me so much 23:20 to be able to do these songs with you 23:23 and your ideas about the second coming of Christ. 23:26 Because I believe that He IS coming again. 23:28 And He's coming for us, and we want to be ready to meet Him. 23:32 And we want to be ready to rejoice when we get there. 23:36 So I'm looking forward to that. 23:38 And I want to thank you and Jim Gilley and everyone here 23:43 at TBN. At 3ABN... not TBN. 23:46 3ABN... sorry. Hey, that's all right. The guy 23:50 travels everywhere, so that's fine. 23:52 That's a plug... now next... That's fine 23:54 as long as next time you're on TBN just slip and say 3ABN. 23:58 I'll say 3ABN. There you go, then we're even up. 24:00 OK. Otherwise, you've got to buy my lunch somewhere. 24:02 Yeah, I will do it. 24:04 But you guys have just treated us so well and embraced us 24:08 and taken us in, and we thank you so much for that. 24:11 And we love you, and we love the people at 3ABN. 24:14 So God bless you all. Thank you very much. 24:17 Thank you, Lari. Thank you. God bless. 24:19 What a great guy. He and his wife are so much fun. 24:23 They've got a bunch of boys. They look like the Shelton boys 24:25 growin' up. How many boys you got, Lari? 24:27 Four. Four of 'em. The Sheltons had four boys 24:30 and a girl, and so I know... 24:32 I've been able to meet... well, they're young men now. 24:37 But what tremendous young men that they have raised. 24:41 And all of them love the Lord 24:43 and very talented and gifted in many different ways. 24:46 Well, speaking of talents and gifts, we have some other 24:49 special music here. And we have Mrs. Kateena La Forge. 24:53 Kateena, are you around here somewhere? 24:55 Oh here she is. All right. 24:58 She's looking all "dipper" tonight, isn't she? 25:00 Dipper? All right... whatever that means. 25:02 I heard it on an English channel one time. 25:04 They said... You mean dapper? Oh, is it dapper? 25:06 Well, please... can we talk a second? 25:09 Come over here. Listen, this is my program, 25:12 it's not yours. And please, please do not be correcting me. 25:17 Even though I'm totally wrong you're supposed to 25:19 look and say: "You're right; it's dipper. " Of course, 25:21 of course, "dipper. " 25:22 I think our mikes are off and I don't think they heard. 25:24 They didn't hear a word. OK. 25:26 Now let's go back and try this again. 25:28 As I was saying she's looking dapper tonight. 25:31 Kateena, it's not dipper... it's dapper. 25:35 My mistake... I'm sorry. 25:37 All right. I love you and Joe a lot. I love you. 25:41 Joe's here. We have a hard time getting him 25:43 up on the stage, don't we? Yeah, he likes to stand in the back. 25:47 What a great guy. I mean honestly we are so blessed. 25:50 Joe's back there. Raise your hand, Joe. 25:51 Somebody turn around and look at Joe. What great people. 25:55 God has blessed us here, brought people into our lives 25:58 that we never dreamed we could have so much fun with, 26:01 so much in common till we get to heaven. 26:04 We thought we'd have to wait, but we didn't. 26:06 And what a beautiful talent. Kateena came to us 26:09 at 17? Seventeen. Seventeen years old. 26:13 We heard about a young girl that lived not too far from here 26:16 little town called De Soto. 26:18 And we heard about her so we said: "Well bring her over. " 26:21 What an incredible voice, incredible talent. 26:24 And so we've actually got to see you grow up. 26:26 You're close to Melody's age, right? That's right. 26:28 I think you're a little younger just so everybody'll know. 26:30 But... Maybe a little. 26:32 A little younger, so we've got to watch you grow up. 26:35 And thank you for your gift that you so freely give back 26:40 to the Lord. God bless you... thank you. 27:38 Beautiful Savior! 27:44 Lord of the nations. 27:51 Son of God 27:55 and Son of 28:00 Man. 28:03 Glory and 28:07 honor, 28:10 praise, adoration 28:16 now and forever more 28:23 be Thine. 28:39 I'd rather have Jesus 28:45 than silver or gold. 28:51 I'd rather be His 28:55 than have riches untold. 29:02 I'd rather have Jesus 29:08 than houses or lands. 29:14 I'd rather be led 29:19 by His nail-pierced 29:24 hand. 29:28 I'd rather have Jesus 29:34 than man's applause. 29:39 I'd rather be faithful 29:44 to His dear cause. 29:49 I'd rather have Jesus 29:54 than world-wide fame. 29:59 I'd rather be true 30:03 to His holy name. 30:10 Than to be the king 30:15 of a vast domain 30:20 or be held 30:23 in sin's dread sway. 30:35 I'd rather have 30:39 Jesus 30:42 than anything 30:48 this world 30:51 affords 30:55 today. 31:05 Amen. Amen! 31:26 We're an anchor for those 31:29 who are hurting; 31:32 we're a harbor for those who are lost. 31:40 Sometimes it's not very easy 31:46 bearing Calvary's cross. 31:54 We've been ridiculed by those 31:58 who don't know Him 32:02 and mocked by those who don't believe. 32:09 Still, I love standing up 32:12 for my Jesus 32:16 'cause of all that He's done for me. 32:23 That's why I am not ashamed 32:27 of the gospel... 32:31 the gospel of Jesus Christ. 32:37 No, I am not afraid 32:41 to be counted 32:45 but I'm willing to give my life. 32:51 See, I'm ready to be 32:54 all He wants me to be, 32:59 give up the wrong for the right. 33:05 No, I am not ashamed 33:09 of the gospel... 33:12 No, I am not ashamed 33:16 of the gospel of Jesus 33:20 Christ. 33:34 For every moment His hand has held mercy, 33:40 for all the love that He's shown 33:44 all my life, 33:47 a simple thanks 33:49 doesn't say how I'm feeling. 33:54 I get tears in my eyes. 34:01 So as for me, I'm gonna keep on 34:05 believing 34:08 in the One who's been so faithful to me. 34:15 I'm not out to please this whole world around me 34:21 I've got my mind on 34:24 eternity. 34:29 That's why I am not ashamed 34:32 of the gospel, 34:37 the gospel of Jesus Christ. 34:43 No, I am not afraid 34:46 to be counted 34:50 but I'm willing to give my life. 34:56 See, I'm ready to be 35:00 all He wants me to be: 35:04 give up the wrong for the right. 35:10 No, I am not ashamed 35:14 of the gospel... 35:17 No, I am not ashamed 35:21 of the gospel of Jesus 35:25 Christ. 35:37 No, I am not ashamed 35:41 of the gospel... 35:44 No, I am not ashamed 35:48 of the gospel... 35:51 I've got too much behind me 35:56 to let this world bind me. 35:59 To some He's a name, but to me 36:04 He's my everything. 36:07 I am not ashamed 36:09 of the gospel... 36:12 No, I am not ashamed 36:16 of the gospel... 36:18 No, I am not ashamed 36:23 of the gospel 36:28 of Jesus 36:34 Christ. 36:44 Oh, hasn't He been good? 36:47 Amen; amen. 36:50 Amen. Thank you, Kateena. Beautiful! 36:57 Well, it's my privilege to bring out another southern Illinois 37:01 boy tonight, and that's Mr. Darrell Marshall. 37:04 Come on out, Darrell. 37:05 Let me see what kind of tie you've got on tonight. 37:10 You learned your lesson, didn't you? Yeah. 37:12 You know, I've been to a lot of churches across the country, 37:14 Danny. No one's ever cut your tie off? No one but you. 37:18 And I've had... He came in with a Bugs Bunny tie or something 37:21 one night and was going to sing here, and I said: 37:23 "You can't sing with that. " He said: "Well I'm going to. " 37:26 So I got some scissors and I cut it off. He did! 37:29 And make it like a little cowboy tie. Yep. 37:31 How many of you? Were any of you here that night? 37:33 Oh look! I've still got that tie. 37:36 No you don't... you've just got what's left of it. 37:39 I've got two of them now. You've got two ties. 37:40 I have people in churches all over the country ask me 37:42 about that tie. "Did he really do that? " 37:45 I said: "Yes he did! " Yeah, I did. 37:47 Well, he didn't listen to me and I asked him to not wear that 37:50 tie up here. Who was that? I even forgot now. 37:53 Fred Flintstone. Oh, it was Fred? Well I'm sorry then... 37:55 I shouldn't have done that. 37:57 Should I sew it back together and wear it again? 37:59 No. 38:01 Thank you. I paid about four people tonight to say that. 38:06 I said: "When he asks that question just say 'No. ' " 38:09 Darrell, tell us what you've been doin' lately. 38:11 Talk to us a few minutes about the ministry. 38:13 Well, we've been traveling around a little bit, Brenda 38:15 and I have and been out to Soquel Camp Meeting. 38:19 First time - OK - for that back in July. OK. 38:22 I was out there with the Heritage Singers 38:24 and went to a little cowboy camp meeting in Donnelly, Idaho - 38:30 OK - back in August. And we're still working on a new project. 38:34 And yeah, we're about half way through it. 38:36 Been a couple of years working on it. So trying to pay for it 38:40 as we go. So it'll be a kind of a country/gospel 38:44 western swing style type if you can believe that. 38:49 No, I forgot it. It was so many words 38:52 I only caught a couple of them. 38:54 Well, we thought we'd try that and see how it goes. 38:56 But it'll be a little while. We'll get it finished. 38:58 OK, well good deal. So tonight you're going to be 39:00 singing us a couple songs. What are you going to sing tonight? 39:02 I'll sing a song that we re- corded here at the sound center 39:06 I'll Thank Him, I'll Praise Him. 39:08 OK. Tim Parton helped me with that project. 39:10 And another one a little country Don't Overlook Salvation. 39:14 I usually don't say this in front of Darrell, but I 39:17 say it often behind his back that he's one of my favorite 39:20 all-time singers. This guy's got such a great voice. 39:23 It's so smooth... It's so beautiful that I always love... 39:28 We kid each other, but I'm serious right now. 39:31 I love hearing you sing; what a great talent that you've got. 39:34 Thank you, Danny. Appreciate it. 39:45 When I get to heaven 39:48 and see my Savior's face 39:52 I'll thank Him, I'll praise Him 39:56 for a wondrous saving grace. 40:00 Up in that fair city 40:03 we'll never have a care. 40:07 I'll thank Him, I'll praise Him 40:10 for He will be there. 40:15 When I get to heaven 40:17 I'll lay my burden down. 40:21 I'll see the King of Glory, 40:25 receive my home, my robe and crown. 40:29 I'll thank Him, I'll praise Him 40:32 forever and ever. 40:36 I'll thank Him, I'll praise Him 40:39 for saving my soul. 40:43 Aren't you glad He saved your soul tonight? 40:45 Amen; amen. 40:51 When my life has ended 40:54 and before Him I shall stand 40:58 I'll thank Him, I'll praise Him 41:01 for saving fallen man. 41:05 But up in that fair city 41:08 we'll never have a care. 41:12 I'll thank Him, I'll praise Him 41:16 for He will be there. 41:20 When I get to heaven 41:23 I'll lay my burden down. 41:27 I'll see the King of Glory, 41:30 receive my home, my robe and crown. 41:34 I'll thank Him, I'll praise Him 41:37 forever and ever. 41:41 I'll thank Him, I'll praise Him 41:45 for saving my soul. 41:49 When I get to heaven 41:52 I'll lay my burden down. 41:56 I'll see the King of Glory, 41:59 I'll receive my home, my robe and crown. 42:03 I'll thank Him, I'll praise Him 42:06 forever and ever. 42:10 I'll thank Him, I'll praise Him 42:14 for saving my soul. 42:19 Yes, He saved my soul! 42:25 Amen; amen. 42:40 Heaven is a city 42:45 built by jewels rare. 42:49 It's beauty is 42:51 a splendor yet untold. 42:57 If you neglect salvation 43:02 you'll never enter in. 43:06 You'll never ever walk those streets of gold. 43:14 So don't overlook salvation 43:19 while living here in sin 43:24 Someday it may be 43:27 too late to pray. 43:32 Someday when you need Him 43:36 He may not let you in. 43:40 How awful 43:43 if He should turn you away. 43:49 How many of you have ever been discouraged? 43:51 A few of you have been discouraged, yes. 43:54 Well listen to this verse, it will tell you what to do. 43:58 Sometimes we get discouraged 44:02 while we walk this weary way 44:06 but Jesus said 44:09 He'd every burden bear. 44:15 So take Him all your troubles 44:20 when it seems all hope is gone. 44:24 Just trust Him 44:26 when you go to Him in prayer. 44:31 So don't overlook salvation 44:37 while living here in sin. 44:41 Someday it may be 44:45 too late to pray. 44:50 Some day when you need Him 44:54 He may not let you in. 44:58 How awful if He should turn you 45:03 away. 45:07 Now Jesus said: "Be ready 45:11 for we know not when the hour. " 45:16 For He may come 45:18 at morning, night, or noon. 45:24 So keep your eyes upon Him 45:29 and your soul filled with His power... 45:33 for you know He's surely coming soon. 45:39 Do you believe He's coming soon? 45:41 So don't overlook salvation 45:46 while living here in sin. 45:50 Someday it may be too late 45:55 to pray. 45:59 Some day when you need Him 46:03 He may not let you in. 46:08 How awful if He should turn you 46:12 away. 46:16 How awful 46:18 if He should turn you 46:21 away. 46:30 Amen; amen. Here, Darrell... 46:33 come over here. Lari Goss, would you come out a minute? 46:36 Have you ever hard the privi- lege of singing with Lari Goss 46:39 playing? I have not. I would just... 46:41 Lari, do you know Darrell Marshall? Yes. 46:44 OK, all right. Why don't you do something? 46:46 This is totally unplanned. Jim walked back there 46:49 and I said: "We've got a few minutes. " 46:50 And Jim's still looking. He's not sure what we're doing yet. 46:53 I'm sorry to do this to you. 46:55 But I said: "Why don't you play Old Rugged Cross 46:58 in about the key you did while ago or where it's written? " 47:01 And Jim, you sing the melody and Darrell you sing tenor 47:05 and I'll try to do a baritone and the rest of them sing bass. 47:10 Let's just do a verse of it: Old Rugged Cross. 47:12 You give us the key. 48:59 OK, you can be seated. Gary Clark's out in the crowd. 49:02 Gary Clark, come up here. David Everett. 49:04 Big Dave, come on up here... we need a bass singer. 49:07 Come on up here if you would. 49:09 All right, let's put everybody on the spot tonight. 49:12 We can share mikes. Bruce? 49:16 You want to sing? Come on up Bruce. 49:18 He says he doesn't want to, but he's... All right. 49:20 Come on up here; we'll share mikes if we want to. 49:23 I can't share with him; I'm not tall enough. 49:26 I have to... All right, Gary, come over here. 49:30 We've got another mike. Somebody can bring one out to us. 49:33 Greg, you got one? This is Gary Clark, 49:36 pastor of the Nazarene church over here in 49:42 Harrisburg. Harrisburg, IL... right? 49:44 Harrisburg. Gary Clark, come on up this way. 49:46 Gary... We've been knowing Gary since we were literally 49:49 his group and our group and sang together: the Sheltons 49:52 and the Clarks from the time we were about 20 years old 49:55 or so right after high school. 49:57 And Gary had the privilege of having Lari Goss... 50:02 Tell me about the record Lari did with you. 50:05 It was a dream come true, Danny. 50:08 I'll never forget the day I was on my lawnmower 50:13 mowing the grass 50:16 and my cell phone buzzed. 50:18 And I stopped and it was you. 50:21 He asked me the question, he said: "What are you doing? " 50:26 And I said: "Who wants to know? " 50:31 He said: "Would you have a few moments that you could quit 50:34 whatever it is and drive up to the studio? 50:37 There's a gentleman I'd like for you to meet. " 50:40 Well I'd had dreams in my earlier years 50:44 of what a privilege it would be to ever meet Lari Goss. 50:49 Even to record with him. 50:52 And I said: "Who is he? " And he said: "A fellow 50:54 by the name of Lari Goss is here and I want you to meet him. " 50:59 And my... what an acquaintance we have made. 51:03 That lawnmower sound just quit instantly when I said that. 51:06 It quit... and the rest is history. 51:09 And we are honored that you made it possible for us 51:13 to record with him. Well praise the Lord! 51:16 Big David... we're glad that you're here. 51:18 David Everett... this is E.T. Everett's other half 51:20 if you haven't seen Big David. He's big, but I can "whup" him 51:23 if it comes down to it. 51:25 Now I did that by a matter of deduction. 51:28 I haven't actually done it, but E.T.'s only about 5 ft. 51:32 I'm sure I could take her and I've seen her work him over. 51:35 So you do the math on that 51:38 and it sounds like I should be able to. 51:40 So don't try anything with me here, Big Dave. 51:42 All right. Let's do Old Rugged Cross again 51:45 only this time we've got a bass. And Gary, you sing... 51:47 sing the lead with Jim, all right? All right. 51:50 Which verse? Oh... first verse. 53:34 Now get it about... Lari, 53:40 how about E flat, just a chorus of Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus? 53:44 All right. We've got a couple minutes here. 53:46 You guys on the melody. Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus. 55:28 Folks, we're just having good old down home Camp Meeting 55:31 tonight, aren't we? Amen! Thank you for your music. 55:34 It's so beautiful, and we love to hear you singing 55:37 back as you give honor and glory and praise 55:41 to the Lord. I'm going to... Amen. Jim, we've got just about 55:43 a minute and a half or so. I've really felt the anointing 55:46 of the Holy Spirit. I wonder if you could maybe just 55:48 close us out with a prayer and whatever's on your heart here. 55:51 We believe that Jesus Christ is coming again soon. 55:55 Amen! The world in which we live: 56:02 there's so much sorrow and sickness and sadness, 56:08 but the hope of life eternal with Jesus 56:11 helps us face each day. 56:18 Hang onto Him. 56:22 Make up your mind you're never going to let Him go. 56:25 Amen! All right. He says: "I will never leave you 56:29 nor forsake you. " Amen! 56:32 That's His words. 56:37 Let Him know that you believe that 56:41 and that you trust Him. 56:44 Father in heaven, we thank you in Jesus' name 56:50 for all that You've done for us. 56:54 And Father, we know that this is a world that's 56:58 full of turmoil tonight 57:01 but we can have peace in the midst of the storm. 57:06 Amen! As Pastor Doug speaks about the storms, 57:10 Father, tonight and the rest of our Camp Meeting 57:14 help us to know that the only peace 57:19 is in You - Amen! - and with You and by You. 57:25 In Jesus' name, Amen. Amen! |
