Amen. 00:17:12.89\00:17:14.36 Good morning. Good morning. 00:17:23.81\00:17:26.17 Happy Sabbath! Happy Sabbath! 00:17:26.21\00:17:28.34 Shall we bow our heads as we start this morning 00:17:32.31\00:17:34.78 worship thought with a word of prayer. 00:17:34.82\00:17:37.49 Father in Heaven, 00:17:41.76\00:17:43.09 Lord, as we bow our heads this morning, 00:17:43.12\00:17:49.33 I pray Lord that You may speak to each one of our hearts 00:17:49.36\00:17:55.67 on this most beautiful theme about the cross. 00:17:55.70\00:17:59.74 Lord, touch us, move us, 00:17:59.77\00:18:03.35 shape us, convict us. 00:18:03.38\00:18:06.75 I pray Lord, You would speak through me 00:18:06.78\00:18:10.09 and in Jesus' name we pray. 00:18:10.12\00:18:12.42 Amen. 00:18:12.45\00:18:13.79 Do any of you know what it's like 00:18:25.93\00:18:27.27 to experience being outside of the conversation 00:18:27.30\00:18:31.64 that's going on in the room? 00:18:31.67\00:18:35.24 It can be a little bit awkward. 00:18:35.28\00:18:38.78 When a joke is taking place 00:18:38.81\00:18:40.22 and you're not part of the joke. 00:18:40.25\00:18:42.45 It's not funny for you. 00:18:42.48\00:18:45.05 We have a saying that sometimes you can feel 00:18:45.09\00:18:47.29 like you are out of the loop. 00:18:47.32\00:18:51.46 When you're out of the loop, it feels frustrating. 00:18:51.49\00:18:55.23 When you're the odd person out, it's uncomfortable. 00:18:55.26\00:19:00.10 If you are an outcast, it's lonely. 00:19:00.14\00:19:05.51 If you are an outsider, nobody, nobody, 00:19:05.54\00:19:10.55 likes to be an outsider. 00:19:10.58\00:19:15.38 Our sermon this morning is entitled 'The Outsider." 00:19:15.42\00:19:20.16 If you turn with me in your Bibles, 00:19:20.19\00:19:21.52 if you have them to the Book of Hebrews 13. 00:19:21.56\00:19:26.06 Hebrews 13, 00:19:26.09\00:19:27.43 we're going to look at a verse of scripture there 00:19:27.46\00:19:30.60 in our morning study. 00:19:30.63\00:19:32.50 Hebrews 13. 00:19:32.53\00:19:34.60 Hebrews 13 00:19:42.58\00:19:43.91 and the theme for today is total saving grace. 00:19:43.95\00:19:45.91 In Hebrews 13 and verse 12, 00:19:45.95\00:19:48.55 the Bible says, "Wherefore Jesus also, 00:19:48.58\00:19:52.49 that he might sanctify the people with his blood.'' 00:19:52.52\00:19:57.06 What did he do? 00:19:57.09\00:19:59.23 He suffered without the gate. 00:19:59.26\00:20:03.73 In order it says that, 00:20:03.77\00:20:05.10 Jesus might sanctify the people with His blood. 00:20:05.13\00:20:07.57 The Bible says, 00:20:07.60\00:20:08.94 He suffered without the gate. 00:20:08.97\00:20:10.91 And we're going to take a look at this verse 00:20:10.94\00:20:12.31 this morning step by step and work our way through it. 00:20:12.34\00:20:15.48 What does it mean, when it says, 00:20:15.51\00:20:16.85 Jesus in order to sanctify us? 00:20:16.88\00:20:20.52 What does the word sanctification mean? 00:20:20.55\00:20:23.39 What is sanctification? 00:20:23.42\00:20:26.05 There is a view 00:20:26.09\00:20:29.52 that at the cross 00:20:29.56\00:20:30.89 Jesus deals only with your forgiveness. 00:20:30.93\00:20:33.70 Your justification at the cross 00:20:33.73\00:20:36.56 is all that is needed to qualify you for heaven. 00:20:36.60\00:20:39.77 This theory or teaching goes on to say 00:20:39.80\00:20:42.27 that the righteousness God produces in you, 00:20:42.30\00:20:45.11 after that has no saving value. 00:20:45.14\00:20:47.58 It only gives evidence of your salvation, 00:20:47.61\00:20:50.95 but does not contribute towards it. 00:20:50.98\00:20:53.72 Sanctification is therefore a fruit of salvation 00:20:53.75\00:20:56.75 but not a prerequisite for it. 00:20:56.79\00:21:00.89 Some say. 00:21:00.92\00:21:03.19 Some say. 00:21:03.22\00:21:05.26 But this does not match with 2 Thessalonians, 00:21:05.29\00:21:07.10 if you are taking notes, 00:21:07.13\00:21:08.46 I don't have time to turn there, 00:21:08.50\00:21:09.83 Chapter 2 and verse 13 00:21:09.86\00:21:11.77 where the Bible says, 00:21:11.80\00:21:13.13 "God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation, 00:21:13.17\00:21:18.71 through sanctification 00:21:18.74\00:21:21.41 of the spirit and belief of the truth." 00:21:21.44\00:21:24.01 Just like in justification, 00:21:24.05\00:21:25.78 it's our part to believe in God, 00:21:25.81\00:21:27.85 to choose, to surrender to Him, 00:21:27.88\00:21:29.88 to confess our sins to Him. 00:21:29.92\00:21:32.05 It's God's part to forgive us, 00:21:32.09\00:21:34.06 to count us righteous 00:21:34.09\00:21:35.49 and cleanse us from our filthy garments. 00:21:35.52\00:21:38.46 So in sanctification, 00:21:38.49\00:21:40.40 it's our part to choose, to obey God, 00:21:40.43\00:21:45.17 to surrender our weak fallen natures to Him daily, 00:21:45.20\00:21:48.64 and it's God's part to count us holy to dwell within us, 00:21:48.67\00:21:52.84 to empower us 00:21:52.87\00:21:54.21 and give us the ability 00:21:54.24\00:21:55.64 to obey Him in the areas where He requires obedience. 00:21:55.68\00:22:01.02 When we look at the word sanctification, 00:22:01.05\00:22:02.78 it can sometimes seem like a long word. 00:22:02.82\00:22:05.19 It refers to the work of the Holy Spirit in us, 00:22:05.22\00:22:07.92 from the moment 00:22:07.96\00:22:09.29 we accept Christ until our last moment. 00:22:09.32\00:22:11.99 A work in which our lusts are restrained, 00:22:12.03\00:22:15.30 our faith is increased 00:22:15.33\00:22:17.13 and our character 00:22:17.17\00:22:18.50 begins to more fully reflect the character 00:22:18.53\00:22:21.20 and beauty of Jesus Christ. 00:22:21.24\00:22:23.67 This is the work 00:22:23.71\00:22:25.04 that the Holy Spirit does in us. 00:22:25.07\00:22:28.88 Now, how does God sanctify His people? 00:22:28.91\00:22:31.88 The verse that we just read says, 00:22:31.91\00:22:34.15 "Through His blood He sanctifies us, 00:22:34.18\00:22:36.65 and He suffered without the gate." 00:22:36.69\00:22:40.16 He suffered without the gate. 00:22:40.19\00:22:42.22 We are sanctified 00:22:42.26\00:22:43.59 by the powerful blood of Jesus Christ. 00:22:43.63\00:22:46.83 When Jesus died, 00:22:46.86\00:22:48.20 He accomplished two things. 00:22:48.23\00:22:49.86 Number one, His objective was to pardon and forgive us. 00:22:49.90\00:22:53.17 Number two, His objective is to cleanse us. 00:22:53.20\00:22:56.57 So in sanctification we have to look for the cross. 00:22:56.60\00:22:59.27 But let me ask you 00:22:59.31\00:23:00.64 at the beginning of this year 2015, sorry. 00:23:00.68\00:23:04.38 How has the year been with you? 00:23:04.41\00:23:09.22 How much God's purpose in your life 00:23:09.25\00:23:10.92 for sanctifying you been in this past year? 00:23:10.95\00:23:14.02 Ponder the questions 00:23:14.06\00:23:16.06 if you would. 00:23:16.09\00:23:17.53 In the past year, has your faith increased 00:23:17.56\00:23:20.46 during the year? 00:23:20.50\00:23:22.26 In the past year, have you over come 00:23:22.30\00:23:26.63 some corruptions in your heart? 00:23:26.67\00:23:29.07 Are you living nearer to Christ now, 00:23:29.10\00:23:30.97 today on this Sabbath 00:23:31.01\00:23:32.67 than you were the first Sabbath of last year? 00:23:32.71\00:23:35.84 Do you know more of your Savior? 00:23:35.88\00:23:37.75 Are you approaching Him more in likeness? 00:23:37.78\00:23:40.02 Do you have more power in your prayer? 00:23:40.05\00:23:42.72 Are you more careful in your life? 00:23:42.75\00:23:44.45 Are you more loving than you used to be? 00:23:44.49\00:23:47.72 Are you more decisive for what is right 00:23:47.76\00:23:50.23 and at the same time more humble 00:23:50.26\00:23:52.26 in being decisive? 00:23:52.29\00:23:55.83 Are you in all aspects standing for Jesus Christ 00:23:55.86\00:23:59.73 as your Savior? 00:23:59.77\00:24:01.57 How is it with you at the beginning of this year? 00:24:01.60\00:24:04.37 Whatever you answer to that question, 00:24:04.41\00:24:07.34 from this day forward the key is to press on. 00:24:07.38\00:24:11.25 Now in Hebrew 13:12, 00:24:11.28\00:24:14.62 in Hebrews 13:12, 00:24:14.65\00:24:16.12 we read the verse and it says, 00:24:16.15\00:24:18.85 "Wherefore Jesus that He might sanctify the people 00:24:18.89\00:24:22.32 with His own blood, suffered 00:24:22.36\00:24:24.89 without or outside the gate." 00:24:24.93\00:24:28.10 I want to take a few moments 00:24:28.13\00:24:29.46 and look at this phrase outside the gate, 00:24:29.50\00:24:31.87 outside the gate. 00:24:31.90\00:24:33.84 Why did Jesus have to suffer outside the gate? 00:24:33.87\00:24:36.91 You see, when you look at the Jewish sanctuary 00:24:36.94\00:24:38.81 in the Old Testament, 00:24:38.84\00:24:40.18 in particular the sin offering. 00:24:40.21\00:24:42.18 The high priest offered the sin offering, 00:24:42.21\00:24:45.78 is only when he offered the sin offering 00:24:45.81\00:24:47.32 because it was offensive to God. 00:24:47.35\00:24:49.42 It was burned not on the altar of sacrifice, 00:24:49.45\00:24:53.05 but it was burned outside the camp 00:24:53.09\00:24:55.29 to show Gods detestation for sin 00:24:55.32\00:24:58.69 and His determination to put it away from His people 00:24:58.73\00:25:00.86 and His church. 00:25:00.90\00:25:02.23 In Leviticus 6:30, 00:25:02.26\00:25:04.83 the Bible says, 00:25:04.87\00:25:06.20 "And no sin offering, where of any of the blood 00:25:06.23\00:25:10.34 is brought into the tabernacle of the congregation 00:25:10.37\00:25:13.41 to reconcile in the holy place, shall be eaten: 00:25:13.44\00:25:16.48 it shall be burnt with fire." 00:25:16.51\00:25:18.21 The sin offering was burnt outside the camp 00:25:18.25\00:25:21.22 not on the altar inside the courtyard. 00:25:21.25\00:25:23.59 Now interesting, 00:25:23.62\00:25:24.95 when Jesus came to this world to be our sin offering, 00:25:24.99\00:25:28.36 it's interesting how accurately 00:25:28.39\00:25:30.86 He fulfilled the type in order to be our Savior. 00:25:30.89\00:25:35.26 It's interesting. 00:25:35.30\00:25:36.63 It's remarkable how providence provided 00:25:36.67\00:25:39.30 for Jesus to fulfill the type. 00:25:39.33\00:25:42.10 Had Jesus been killed in Luke 4, 00:25:42.14\00:25:44.97 when they wanted to kill Him, 00:25:45.01\00:25:46.47 it's likely He may have died 00:25:46.51\00:25:48.18 within the realms of the city. 00:25:48.21\00:25:51.18 When you read in John 8, 00:25:51.21\00:25:52.85 as we referenced yesterday in our sermon. 00:25:52.88\00:25:54.48 And you read in John 10, 00:25:54.52\00:25:56.08 as we referenced yesterday in our sermon. 00:25:56.12\00:25:58.09 When they wanted to kill Jesus, 00:25:58.12\00:25:59.52 not only was it the wrong time to kill Jesus. 00:25:59.55\00:26:02.19 It had not yet been three and a half years. 00:26:02.22\00:26:04.13 It was the wrong place. 00:26:04.16\00:26:05.79 In John 8, Jesus was inside the city. 00:26:05.83\00:26:09.13 In John 10, Jesus was inside the city 00:26:09.16\00:26:12.37 and, and as a sin offering, 00:26:12.40\00:26:14.80 He had to suffer outside of the gate. 00:26:14.84\00:26:19.01 Unless, Jesus was put to death judicially, 00:26:19.04\00:26:22.68 it would have been unlikely for Him to die 00:26:22.71\00:26:25.11 on the Mount of Doom, Golgotha. 00:26:25.15\00:26:27.38 It's remarkable, I think it's quite remarkable 00:26:27.42\00:26:29.52 that the Romans chose 00:26:29.55\00:26:30.89 a place outside the city to do the crucifixion. 00:26:30.92\00:26:34.16 If I was the Romans and I wanted to put fear 00:26:34.19\00:26:36.42 in the heart of the Jews 00:26:36.46\00:26:38.66 for disobeying the Roman Empire. 00:26:38.69\00:26:40.80 I would put that cross 00:26:40.83\00:26:42.16 right in the middle of the city, 00:26:42.20\00:26:44.07 where everyone can see it and where the person 00:26:44.10\00:26:46.30 who's dying dies a slow 00:26:46.33\00:26:48.00 and painful death in view of everybody. 00:26:48.04\00:26:52.54 If you go to England 00:26:52.57\00:26:53.91 there are certain cities you can go to, 00:26:53.94\00:26:55.28 I can take you to the city of Oxford. 00:26:55.31\00:26:57.41 And there right in the middle of the city, 00:26:57.45\00:26:59.15 there's a white cross on the ground, 00:26:59.18\00:27:00.98 right on the main street 00:27:01.02\00:27:02.35 outside one of the colleges in Oxford 00:27:02.38\00:27:04.09 near the main shopping street. 00:27:04.12\00:27:05.45 There's a white cross on the ground 00:27:05.49\00:27:07.12 signifying the place 00:27:07.16\00:27:08.49 where Ridley, Latimer and Cranmer 00:27:08.52\00:27:10.46 were burnt to death 00:27:10.49\00:27:11.83 right in the middle of the city. 00:27:11.86\00:27:14.33 As a spectacle, don't defy the church 00:27:14.36\00:27:17.60 or you will die too. 00:27:17.63\00:27:19.60 Today, on the news you watch ISIS 00:27:19.63\00:27:21.90 going around chopping people's heads off 00:27:21.94\00:27:23.67 in the Middle East, terrible. 00:27:23.71\00:27:26.01 But if you compared the number of people 00:27:26.04\00:27:27.91 who have had their heads chopped off 00:27:27.94\00:27:29.28 to the number of people who have died by gunfire, 00:27:29.31\00:27:31.51 it's probably vastly different in numbers. 00:27:31.55\00:27:34.12 But the beheadings is so ghastly, 00:27:34.15\00:27:36.32 it's so raw 00:27:36.35\00:27:38.02 that it strikes fear 00:27:38.05\00:27:39.39 into the hearts of the people 00:27:39.42\00:27:40.76 when they hear ISIS is coming to the town. 00:27:40.79\00:27:43.26 Fear is a great motivator of people unfortunately. 00:27:43.29\00:27:48.10 But the cross 00:27:48.13\00:27:49.46 which struck fear into the heart of the Jews 00:27:49.50\00:27:51.40 was not there in the middle of the city. 00:27:51.43\00:27:54.10 Jesus must not die in a commotion, 00:27:54.14\00:27:56.50 in the midst of the city. 00:27:56.54\00:27:57.97 He must die outside the city. 00:27:58.01\00:28:00.28 And so the Romans had a place of execution 00:28:00.31\00:28:02.91 outside the city limits, that by dying outside, 00:28:02.94\00:28:07.75 Jesus might be our sin offering. 00:28:07.78\00:28:12.05 Let me ask you a question. 00:28:12.09\00:28:14.32 Who was outside the city? 00:28:14.36\00:28:18.23 If you had gone to the great camp of Israel 00:28:18.26\00:28:20.33 there in the Old Testament, 00:28:20.36\00:28:21.86 who was outside the camp of Israel? 00:28:21.90\00:28:24.63 You would have seen that the standard of Dan, 00:28:24.67\00:28:27.00 the standard of Judah, the standard of Ruben, 00:28:27.04\00:28:29.30 there in the camp of Israel, but who was outside. 00:28:29.34\00:28:32.17 If you had looked far into the distance, 00:28:32.21\00:28:34.21 you would have seen some wretched huts 00:28:34.24\00:28:36.01 in the distance, 00:28:36.04\00:28:37.38 and if you would ask someone 00:28:37.41\00:28:38.75 who is living in those huts out there. 00:28:38.78\00:28:40.32 The answer would have come back to you, 00:28:40.35\00:28:41.68 in those huts out there, 00:28:41.72\00:28:43.05 that is the unclean, that is the lepers, 00:28:43.08\00:28:47.26 they're outside the camp, for they cannot come in. 00:28:47.29\00:28:50.59 And if you had wandered 00:28:50.63\00:28:51.96 your way out through the tents 00:28:51.99\00:28:53.96 and you were gone outside the camp, 00:28:54.00\00:28:56.50 and as you wandered around outside the camp, 00:28:56.53\00:28:58.50 somewhere sooner or later, 00:28:58.53\00:29:00.27 you would have heard the cry coming out 00:29:00.30\00:29:03.07 unclean, unclean, unclean. 00:29:03.10\00:29:07.18 For the leper's responsibility was to warn you, 00:29:07.21\00:29:10.68 that you did not come close to their presence. 00:29:10.71\00:29:12.68 Lest even the wind should blow and you would catch the leprosy 00:29:12.71\00:29:16.25 through the wind. 00:29:16.28\00:29:20.76 If you'd gone closer, if you could see closer, 00:29:20.79\00:29:24.29 you would see the leper, 00:29:24.33\00:29:25.89 not with a nice red ruddy lips that you have today, 00:29:25.93\00:29:30.03 but there above his teeth 00:29:30.07\00:29:31.83 would be a white line where the lips had been... 00:29:31.87\00:29:34.37 the lips had been eroded away 00:29:34.40\00:29:36.04 so to speak. 00:29:36.07\00:29:37.41 And as you got closer, 00:29:37.44\00:29:38.77 they would cover their mouth with a cloth or a hand 00:29:38.81\00:29:40.28 and say unclean, unclean, 00:29:40.31\00:29:42.18 unclean again. 00:29:42.21\00:29:43.58 For they did not want you to come there 00:29:43.61\00:29:44.95 into his presence, 00:29:44.98\00:29:46.31 it was a deadly disease, a contagious disease 00:29:46.35\00:29:50.89 of whom is the leper a type. 00:29:50.92\00:29:57.66 The leper is a type of you and I 00:29:57.69\00:29:59.53 in our natural state. 00:29:59.56\00:30:01.73 Without Jesus Christ, we are like the leper, 00:30:01.76\00:30:05.90 sinful, miserable, unjustified. 00:30:05.93\00:30:11.27 Jesus died outside the camp, that He might sanctify us. 00:30:11.31\00:30:16.75 Follow me now, picture the scene. 00:30:16.78\00:30:18.41 Use your righteous imagination. Your what imagination? 00:30:18.45\00:30:23.18 Your righteous imagination. Picture the scene if you will. 00:30:23.22\00:30:26.69 You know, you will not find this 00:30:26.72\00:30:28.06 written in the pages of scripture, 00:30:28.09\00:30:29.46 but picture the scene if you will. 00:30:29.49\00:30:32.96 There is a leper outside the camp, 00:30:32.99\00:30:35.16 he cannot mingle with the others. 00:30:35.20\00:30:36.63 He is not allowed inside to the camp 00:30:36.67\00:30:39.03 and as he is out there outside the camp, 00:30:39.07\00:30:40.40 there are certain things they couldn't do. 00:30:40.44\00:30:41.77 If they came to a stream, you know, probably likely, 00:30:41.80\00:30:44.04 they weren't allowed to drink from the stream, 00:30:44.07\00:30:45.77 lest they contaminate the water 00:30:45.81\00:30:47.34 and people live further on would catch leprosy. 00:30:47.38\00:30:50.51 So maybe, just maybe, 00:30:50.55\00:30:51.88 if they want to get a drink of water, 00:30:51.91\00:30:53.25 they find a puddle, stagnant, dirty water 00:30:53.28\00:30:55.98 and there they sip from the stagnant dirty water. 00:30:56.02\00:31:00.42 If their own father comes outside the city, 00:31:00.46\00:31:02.86 they have to run and go away from him. 00:31:02.89\00:31:04.79 If the man's wife came outside the city, 00:31:04.83\00:31:07.20 she as the wife would have to shun her husband, 00:31:07.23\00:31:10.20 lest she catch the leprous disease. 00:31:10.23\00:31:14.77 And as this leper is walking along 00:31:14.80\00:31:16.54 outside the camp, 00:31:16.57\00:31:17.91 he walks along and he goes around 00:31:17.94\00:31:19.27 some big boulders there in the desert, 00:31:19.31\00:31:20.74 and as he walks around the boulders in the desert, 00:31:20.78\00:31:23.14 there he sees just not too far away 00:31:23.18\00:31:27.48 a cross. 00:31:27.52\00:31:31.19 Lifting up on the cross, 00:31:31.22\00:31:32.55 there is one dying on it and he stops. 00:31:32.59\00:31:35.02 Now he knows he is not allowed 00:31:35.06\00:31:36.39 into the presence of any living person. 00:31:36.42\00:31:38.36 He has to warn them that he is coming, 00:31:38.39\00:31:40.30 but he thinks to himself, this man is dying. 00:31:40.33\00:31:45.00 Surely, surely, he can approach a dying man, 00:31:45.03\00:31:49.00 for a man who is dying cannot die twice. 00:31:49.04\00:31:52.07 And so slowly, carefully, he walks toward the man 00:31:52.11\00:31:55.18 hanging on the cross timidly at first, 00:31:55.21\00:31:57.68 but as he gets closer, he notices that on the cross 00:31:57.71\00:32:00.52 the one who is there is still alive. 00:32:00.55\00:32:04.12 Craving some human company, 00:32:04.15\00:32:06.35 even if it is a dying man, he gets closer and closer 00:32:06.39\00:32:09.59 and as he stands there finally under the cross, 00:32:09.62\00:32:12.46 and he looks up, 00:32:12.49\00:32:14.00 the face looking down at him is a face of love, 00:32:14.03\00:32:16.93 compassion, tenderness, mercy 00:32:16.97\00:32:19.53 and goodness looking down at him. 00:32:19.57\00:32:23.84 Wilt thou be made whole? 00:32:23.87\00:32:28.14 Joy fills his heart. He is outside the city. 00:32:28.18\00:32:32.51 He is unclean. 00:32:32.55\00:32:33.88 But here outside the city, he finds one dying on a cross. 00:32:33.92\00:32:38.15 This man spoke to him. 00:32:38.19\00:32:39.69 Not any old words, but words of life, 00:32:39.72\00:32:43.06 encouragement and joy filled his heart, 00:32:43.09\00:32:46.53 he has been cleansed. 00:32:46.56\00:32:52.00 This morning, 00:32:52.03\00:32:56.00 look to Jesus. 00:32:56.04\00:32:58.21 He died outside the camp where the poor, unclean sinners 00:32:58.24\00:33:03.65 like you and I might find Him. 00:33:03.68\00:33:06.82 The leper would never have been allowed inside the city, 00:33:06.85\00:33:09.88 only outside. 00:33:09.92\00:33:11.55 But as one man was dying, figuratively speaking, 00:33:11.59\00:33:15.42 he gave life to another, the beauty of salvation. 00:33:15.46\00:33:20.86 This is the first lesson this morning from the text. 00:33:20.90\00:33:24.47 Jesus died outside the camp, because that's where we are 00:33:24.50\00:33:27.84 before we accept Christ into our life. 00:33:27.87\00:33:30.37 The leper is a type of us in our unconverted state, 00:33:30.41\00:33:33.58 where we need Jesus outside the camp. 00:33:33.61\00:33:35.94 But the text says, 00:33:35.98\00:33:37.31 ''In order that Jesus 00:33:37.35\00:33:38.68 might sanctify us through His blood.' 00:33:38.71\00:33:41.78 'You see this comes a little closer. 00:33:41.82\00:33:43.15 Now you may say, 00:33:43.18\00:33:44.52 ''Oh, that was a nice word picture that you just said, 00:33:44.55\00:33:46.25 that was interesting, 00:33:46.29\00:33:47.62 but I accepted Christ into my heart 10 years ago, 00:33:47.66\00:33:50.33 20 years ago, 30 years ago, 00:33:50.36\00:33:52.16 two years ago three decades ago 00:33:52.19\00:33:54.26 is when I accepted Christ into my heart, 00:33:54.30\00:33:56.20 and I can't quite resonate 00:33:56.23\00:33:57.87 necessarily with that experience.'' 00:33:57.90\00:34:00.10 But you see sanctification is the work of a lifetime. 00:34:00.14\00:34:04.07 It's a school from which you never graduate from. 00:34:04.11\00:34:07.01 It's something that happens every week, 00:34:07.04\00:34:08.94 every moment. 00:34:08.98\00:34:11.71 How many of you can resonate with this? 00:34:11.75\00:34:13.08 You know the feeling 00:34:13.11\00:34:14.45 where you've accepted Christ into your heart. 00:34:14.48\00:34:17.05 And as you're going along your Christian journey, 00:34:17.09\00:34:19.02 some evil propensity comes back to life 00:34:19.05\00:34:21.99 that you thought had gone. 00:34:22.02\00:34:23.69 And you feel in that moment, in that moment you feel, 00:34:23.73\00:34:29.30 as though you couldn't come before God again. 00:34:29.33\00:34:32.63 You feel like you've lost His presence, 00:34:32.67\00:34:35.07 you slipped again, 00:34:35.10\00:34:36.44 and you knew you shouldn't slip up, 00:34:36.47\00:34:38.04 you prayed about the very thing, 00:34:38.07\00:34:39.61 but you still slipped up and went into sin, 00:34:39.64\00:34:41.71 and the same old feeling of sin 00:34:41.74\00:34:43.65 and guilt and filthiness comes back to you. 00:34:43.68\00:34:48.25 You feel like you can't meet God, 00:34:48.28\00:34:49.72 you can't go into His presence. 00:34:49.75\00:34:52.05 You feel like your prayers are bouncing off the ceiling. 00:34:52.09\00:34:55.12 You open your Bible to read it, 00:34:55.16\00:34:56.89 and it seems like God just, 00:34:56.93\00:34:58.29 it is just dry. 00:34:58.33\00:35:01.70 Your religious experience has dried up. 00:35:01.73\00:35:04.73 There have been times when I have gone to church 00:35:04.77\00:35:06.70 knowing what I might be struggling with, 00:35:06.74\00:35:09.00 and while serving God, 00:35:09.04\00:35:10.37 I may feel 00:35:10.41\00:35:11.74 there in the presence of other believers 00:35:11.77\00:35:13.34 as if I am the most unclean of everyone there 00:35:13.38\00:35:18.78 outside the camp. 00:35:18.81\00:35:21.18 How many times, 00:35:21.22\00:35:22.62 have you may be being to camp meeting 00:35:22.65\00:35:25.02 had that spiritual high and on the way back home, 00:35:25.05\00:35:28.16 you're right back to where you were one week previous. 00:35:28.19\00:35:33.70 How is it gonna be for you on Monday morning, 00:35:33.73\00:35:36.43 when there is no GYC devotion to come to? 00:35:36.46\00:35:41.20 How will it be on Tuesday morning, 00:35:41.24\00:35:43.41 when you're back home and you don't have 00:35:43.44\00:35:45.51 2,3000 Adventists around you anymore? 00:35:45.54\00:35:48.61 It's just you and your Bible and audio books and 3ABN. 00:35:48.64\00:35:52.85 Message. 00:35:52.88\00:35:55.68 How will it be? 00:35:55.72\00:35:58.22 You know what it's like to go to Bible camp. 00:35:58.25\00:36:01.32 And on the way home, you load those same web pages, 00:36:01.36\00:36:04.99 you said, you would never load again. 00:36:05.03\00:36:08.73 You go to church on Sabbath, maybe, and that very night 00:36:08.76\00:36:13.80 you're somewhere where you should not be. 00:36:13.84\00:36:16.00 How many of you know 00:36:16.04\00:36:17.37 the experience to preach a sermon, 00:36:17.41\00:36:19.31 to teach a Sabbath school class, 00:36:19.34\00:36:20.84 to be there in some important meeting in church 00:36:20.88\00:36:23.55 or planning the next greatest thing 00:36:23.58\00:36:25.15 to hit the Adventist Church, 00:36:25.18\00:36:26.51 and when you get back home with your wife, your husband, 00:36:26.55\00:36:29.32 your son, your daughter, your mother, your father, 00:36:29.35\00:36:31.52 your brother, your sister, 00:36:31.55\00:36:32.89 you fly into a rage at the slightest provocation. 00:36:32.92\00:36:37.23 Message. 00:36:37.26\00:36:38.59 And you feel outside the camp. 00:36:42.43\00:36:46.13 Sometimes you wonder 00:36:46.17\00:36:47.50 why it's easy to be a Christian here, 00:36:47.54\00:36:49.17 around Christians than around your family. 00:36:49.20\00:36:53.94 And you sometimes wish if only 00:36:53.98\00:36:55.31 I didn't have to see my family, 00:36:55.34\00:36:56.68 I would be ready for translation. 00:36:56.71\00:36:58.05 At this time, 00:37:03.08\00:37:04.45 your faith is sluggish, your hope is dull. 00:37:04.49\00:37:08.66 Who here today 00:37:12.46\00:37:15.46 in this esteemed gathering of Seventh-day Adventists, 00:37:15.50\00:37:18.00 the largest annual gathering of Seventh-day Adventists 00:37:18.03\00:37:20.27 on the top side of the earth 00:37:20.30\00:37:22.20 of Bible believing Seventh-day Adventist? 00:37:22.24\00:37:25.07 Who is they here 00:37:25.11\00:37:26.44 who has not been put outside the camp. 00:37:26.47\00:37:30.45 Who is they here. 00:37:30.48\00:37:31.81 Maybe today, 00:37:31.85\00:37:33.18 you feel you are outside the camp 00:37:33.21\00:37:35.42 physically inside, but spiritually outside. 00:37:35.45\00:37:39.49 Through the actions of thoughts, 00:37:39.52\00:37:40.86 the motives of your heart, you feel outside the camp. 00:37:40.89\00:37:43.93 In the process of sanctification, 00:37:43.96\00:37:46.09 I believe God puts us outside the camp, 00:37:46.13\00:37:48.96 where our sin needs to be forgiven 00:37:49.00\00:37:51.30 and our sin needs to be cleansed. 00:37:51.33\00:37:52.83 It doesn't matter what titles we hold, 00:37:52.87\00:37:54.60 it doesn't matter who we are, 00:37:54.64\00:37:55.97 what position we have in the church, 00:37:56.00\00:37:57.77 the process of sanctification in our life is a real process. 00:37:57.81\00:38:01.84 But don't miss the point, when we're outside the gate 00:38:01.88\00:38:04.31 because we have sinned. 00:38:04.35\00:38:06.48 When we're outside the gate because we have sinned. 00:38:06.51\00:38:08.35 Remember that Jesus died outside the gate 00:38:08.38\00:38:11.92 that He might sanctify us with His own blood. 00:38:11.95\00:38:14.62 Amen. 00:38:14.66\00:38:15.99 He's not there with us in our action. 00:38:16.02\00:38:17.96 Amen. 00:38:17.99\00:38:19.49 He is there to cleanse us when we come to Him. 00:38:19.53\00:38:23.63 Jesus Himself shut Himself out. 00:38:23.67\00:38:26.27 He was despised and rejected of men. 00:38:26.30\00:38:28.24 He was outside the gate. 00:38:28.27\00:38:31.54 No matter who you are today, no matter where you come from, 00:38:31.57\00:38:33.64 no matter how many times you've gone in and out, 00:38:33.68\00:38:36.64 back and forth from the city. 00:38:36.68\00:38:38.11 Today, today the call is, if you're outside the camp, 00:38:38.15\00:38:41.82 Jesus says, "Come back in, come to me." 00:38:41.85\00:38:45.42 Come to me for Jesus died outside the gate, 00:38:45.45\00:38:48.22 that in the process of sanctification, 00:38:48.26\00:38:50.23 He can cleanse us and give us power. 00:38:50.26\00:38:52.66 It's not something 00:38:52.69\00:38:54.03 you and I should struggle with on our own, 00:38:54.06\00:38:56.13 getting ourselves in a fit condition 00:38:56.16\00:38:58.37 before we come back to God, that's often how we feel, 00:38:58.40\00:39:00.80 I slipped, I've gone away from God, 00:39:00.84\00:39:02.34 I've got to clean myself up 00:39:02.37\00:39:03.71 and then come back to Him. 00:39:03.74\00:39:07.18 When we're there outside the gate, 00:39:07.21\00:39:10.08 Jesus is there to sanctify us. 00:39:10.11\00:39:12.21 He died outside the gate that He might sanctify us 00:39:12.25\00:39:14.92 and give us power and cleanse us 00:39:14.95\00:39:16.58 each time we come back to Him. 00:39:16.62\00:39:19.49 The problem is that, 00:39:19.52\00:39:20.86 well, too often when we're outside, 00:39:20.89\00:39:22.22 we think we're too far from God. 00:39:22.26\00:39:24.26 We're too far. 00:39:24.29\00:39:27.26 You know in the process of sanctification, 00:39:27.30\00:39:28.76 Jesus deals with us. 00:39:28.80\00:39:31.73 He brings different points to our character. 00:39:31.77\00:39:33.57 1 Testimony, page 187 says, 00:39:33.60\00:39:35.74 ''At every advance point 00:39:35.77\00:39:37.14 the heart is tested and tried a little closer. 00:39:37.17\00:39:39.11 Some are willing to receive one point, 00:39:39.14\00:39:41.44 but when God brings them to another testing point, 00:39:41.48\00:39:44.25 they shrink from and stand back 00:39:44.28\00:39:45.68 because they find it strikes directly 00:39:45.71\00:39:47.68 at some cherished idol." 00:39:47.72\00:39:49.05 The process what God does with us, 00:39:49.08\00:39:50.45 He brings us and He shows us our heart 00:39:50.49\00:39:52.59 what we are cherishing. 00:39:52.62\00:39:55.09 And sometimes we may overcome and surrender. 00:39:55.12\00:39:57.33 But sometimes we don't, 00:39:57.36\00:39:58.69 and we cling on to it. 00:39:58.73\00:40:00.13 And in the process of clinging on to it, 00:40:00.16\00:40:03.57 we are outside. 00:40:03.60\00:40:07.10 No matter when you accept Jesus as your Lord 00:40:07.14\00:40:08.77 and Savior into a heart. 00:40:08.80\00:40:10.14 We must go through the process of justification, 00:40:10.17\00:40:12.37 forgiveness, pardon, 00:40:12.41\00:40:13.81 opening the heart to God and sanctification, 00:40:13.84\00:40:16.24 that daily moment by moment cleansing of the heart. 00:40:16.28\00:40:20.05 Jesus died outside the gate 00:40:20.08\00:40:21.75 to give us hope in justification, 00:40:21.78\00:40:23.79 but also to be there throughout out sanctification. 00:40:23.82\00:40:28.29 After we've surrendered our heart to Jesus, 00:40:28.32\00:40:29.96 the struggle continues. 00:40:29.99\00:40:31.43 The struggle is real. 00:40:31.46\00:40:32.79 And as we're married to Jesus Christ, 00:40:32.83\00:40:35.40 we see ourselves in ways 00:40:35.43\00:40:36.83 that we would never see our self before. 00:40:36.87\00:40:39.30 I recently got married 14 months ago, amen. 00:40:39.33\00:40:42.24 Amen. 00:40:42.27\00:40:43.61 Marriage is a beautiful thing. Amen. 00:40:43.64\00:40:46.11 The marriage also shows you things about yourself 00:40:46.14\00:40:48.04 that you never knew were there. 00:40:48.08\00:40:50.95 You never thought they were there. 00:40:50.98\00:40:52.78 There're certain aspects of my character 00:40:52.81\00:40:54.25 my wife will tell me 00:40:54.28\00:40:55.62 that I have and I'm like, 00:40:55.65\00:40:56.99 ''No, way.'' 00:40:57.02\00:41:00.99 No way. 00:41:01.02\00:41:03.09 Now not necessary, maybe you say this is sinful, 00:41:03.12\00:41:05.23 maybe you say it's not sinful, 00:41:05.26\00:41:06.59 but my wife has told me since we got married, 00:41:06.63\00:41:07.96 I always thought my yay was yay 00:41:08.00\00:41:09.46 and my nay was nay. 00:41:09.50\00:41:11.40 And my wife says, "Uh-uh, 00:41:11.43\00:41:14.20 you exaggerate all the time." 00:41:14.24\00:41:18.27 All the time. 00:41:18.31\00:41:20.98 I don't know, I'm an evangelist, 00:41:21.01\00:41:22.34 we like to play with numbers, I don't know. 00:41:22.38\00:41:24.75 You exaggerate all the time. 00:41:24.78\00:41:29.08 When we're married to Christ, we see ourselves 00:41:29.12\00:41:33.09 in a way that we have never seen 00:41:33.12\00:41:34.82 our self before. 00:41:34.86\00:41:38.16 And Christ shows us, who we are. 00:41:38.19\00:41:40.83 But the beauty is, we have a Savior 00:41:40.86\00:41:43.57 who suffered outside the gate. 00:41:43.60\00:41:46.30 We have a high priest who knows how we feel. 00:41:46.33\00:41:49.50 Amen. 00:41:49.54\00:41:51.01 He was tempted in all points like as we are, 00:41:51.04\00:41:53.07 yet without sin. 00:41:53.11\00:41:54.51 I am glad that today, we have a high priest, 00:41:54.54\00:41:56.98 the one who is in heaven who has walked in my shoes, 00:41:57.01\00:41:59.81 has walked in your shoes, 00:41:59.85\00:42:01.18 knows my struggles, knows your struggles, 00:42:01.22\00:42:03.18 knows what it is like to live on Earth as a man. 00:42:03.22\00:42:06.86 Forever he will share an affinity with us, 00:42:06.89\00:42:09.82 because He died on Calvary outside the camp. 00:42:09.86\00:42:13.50 When Jesus came down here to Earth, 00:42:13.53\00:42:15.10 He took upon Himself a humanity that He forever retains. 00:42:15.13\00:42:18.47 He died as a man to give us an example 00:42:18.50\00:42:22.57 that we can also overcome as He overcame. 00:42:22.60\00:42:25.77 He came to this earth 00:42:25.81\00:42:27.14 not just to provide the payment for the penalty of sin, 00:42:27.18\00:42:30.08 but to give us an example 00:42:30.11\00:42:31.45 of how to overcome through the power of God. 00:42:31.48\00:42:36.28 He shares an affinity with us that cannot be broken. 00:42:36.32\00:42:39.52 I read, there's an army 00:42:39.55\00:42:41.42 in the world called ''The French Foreign Legion.'' 00:42:41.46\00:42:44.03 It's a unique fighting unit, 00:42:44.06\00:42:45.39 because they've been around for over 100 years 00:42:45.43\00:42:47.16 or more than that. 00:42:47.20\00:42:48.53 They're made up entirely 00:42:48.56\00:42:49.90 except for the officers or foreigners, 00:42:49.93\00:42:52.67 but they fight for France. 00:42:52.70\00:42:54.74 They have a pretty 00:42:54.77\00:42:56.17 high amount of respect in military circles 00:42:56.20\00:42:59.07 and they maintain a high standard of excellence 00:42:59.11\00:43:00.98 in their ranks. 00:43:01.01\00:43:02.38 Traditionally, some would say romantically 00:43:02.41\00:43:04.28 it was a hiding place for criminals and undesirables. 00:43:04.31\00:43:07.32 Because they could join this army, 00:43:07.35\00:43:08.68 and go and fight in a foreign country. 00:43:08.72\00:43:10.05 And if they served long enough, 00:43:10.09\00:43:11.42 they could become a citizen of France. 00:43:11.45\00:43:13.86 But there was another way they could get citizenship. 00:43:13.89\00:43:17.23 And that was if they were wounded 00:43:17.26\00:43:18.89 or suffered an injury in battle, 00:43:18.93\00:43:20.80 they have a phrase in the French Foreign Legion, 00:43:20.83\00:43:22.93 that says this, 00:43:22.96\00:43:24.30 Francais par le sang verse, 00:43:24.33\00:43:27.67 Francais par le sang verse, 00:43:27.70\00:43:30.54 translated into English is French 00:43:30.57\00:43:33.38 ''By spilled blood.'' 00:43:33.41\00:43:37.38 If you spilled blood in battle, automatically you became 00:43:37.41\00:43:42.42 a citizen of France. 00:43:42.45\00:43:46.99 Jesus spilled His blood outside the gate. 00:43:47.02\00:43:52.73 Forever able to relate to understand 00:43:52.76\00:43:55.76 and empathize 00:43:55.80\00:43:57.13 and compassionately judge mankind, 00:43:57.17\00:44:00.04 because He shares an inseparable bond with us 00:44:00.07\00:44:03.27 due to the blood He shed 00:44:03.30\00:44:05.17 while He was outside the gate. 00:44:05.21\00:44:09.01 This morning, you have a high priest, 00:44:09.04\00:44:12.28 a Savior who knows exactly 00:44:12.31\00:44:14.18 what your struggle this morning is. 00:44:14.22\00:44:16.69 He knows exactly 00:44:16.72\00:44:18.05 what sin you are grappling with, 00:44:18.09\00:44:20.19 what sin has put you outside of the camp. 00:44:20.22\00:44:23.49 He knows exactly what it is in your heart. 00:44:23.53\00:44:28.70 Different for every single one of us individually. 00:44:28.73\00:44:31.70 He knows the struggle that you face this morning. 00:44:31.73\00:44:37.97 He knows the struggle that is awaiting you 00:44:38.01\00:44:40.81 come Monday morning, when you go back home 00:44:40.84\00:44:44.31 and you go back to your workplace 00:44:44.35\00:44:46.11 and your boss is there 00:44:46.15\00:44:47.48 who just winds you up like no one else can. 00:44:47.52\00:44:53.86 That teacher you got to go to the class on Monday 00:44:53.89\00:44:56.36 and that teacher does not like you 00:44:56.39\00:44:58.33 and just seems to be able to get under your skin. 00:44:58.36\00:45:00.80 He knows 00:45:00.83\00:45:02.16 all of those individual situations in our lives. 00:45:02.20\00:45:07.44 He knows them. 00:45:07.47\00:45:10.71 He can understand and compassionately be with us. 00:45:10.74\00:45:14.28 Jesus suffered outside the gate. 00:45:14.31\00:45:16.38 Let us remember, 00:45:16.41\00:45:19.51 remember that. 00:45:19.55\00:45:21.58 What are you struggling with today? 00:45:21.62\00:45:23.89 What are you struggling with today? 00:45:23.92\00:45:26.12 Now there's another application that I want to say briefly 00:45:26.15\00:45:28.82 before we close of the verse and that is this. 00:45:28.86\00:45:31.49 And that sometimes in another application 00:45:31.53\00:45:33.46 when you choose to follow Christ, 00:45:33.50\00:45:35.06 when you choose to follow Christ, 00:45:35.10\00:45:37.60 you feel like you are outside 00:45:37.63\00:45:39.30 the gate of the world. 00:45:39.33\00:45:42.04 What Christian is there 00:45:42.07\00:45:43.41 that having given their heart to Jesus 00:45:43.44\00:45:45.24 should not feel outside the gate of the world's camp. 00:45:45.27\00:45:49.71 Can you be a true saint sanctified set apart for God 00:45:49.74\00:45:53.31 unless somehow the world views you as too strict, 00:45:53.35\00:45:56.99 too austere, too something else. 00:45:57.02\00:45:59.85 If your mannerisms 00:45:59.89\00:46:01.22 and everything is like the world, 00:46:01.26\00:46:03.12 you're not outside the camp of the world. 00:46:03.16\00:46:05.66 It could be though as well today, 00:46:05.69\00:46:07.13 another application. 00:46:07.16\00:46:11.33 Maybe... 00:46:11.37\00:46:14.80 you feel it's almost impossible to serve your master today 00:46:14.84\00:46:17.34 without being shut out of the camp of some 00:46:17.37\00:46:20.31 even in the church. 00:46:20.34\00:46:22.84 I did not mean disfellowship for open sin. 00:46:22.88\00:46:24.81 I mean something far different from this. 00:46:24.85\00:46:26.51 Ellen White says, 00:46:26.55\00:46:27.88 ''To fight the battles of the Lord 00:46:27.92\00:46:29.25 when the champions are few, this will be our test.'' 00:46:29.28\00:46:32.29 The church has become so lacerate, 00:46:32.32\00:46:33.69 so incoherent in doctrine, so trifling inexperience 00:46:33.72\00:46:36.66 and so on holy in lifestyle that to be a Christian today 00:46:36.69\00:46:39.73 can means that you are outside the fellowship of the world 00:46:39.76\00:46:42.40 and outside the fellowship of some in the church. 00:46:42.43\00:46:47.40 How many times have you seen anger, pride, 00:46:47.44\00:46:49.80 backslidden habits lacks Sabbath keeping, 00:46:49.84\00:46:52.81 disregarding the pillars of Christianity, 00:46:52.84\00:46:54.34 let alone Adventism? 00:46:54.38\00:46:56.14 Today, if you believe in the six day creation, 00:46:56.18\00:46:58.21 you're outside the camp of the world, 00:46:58.25\00:47:00.45 you're outside the camp of Christianity, 00:47:00.48\00:47:02.15 and in some circles outside those in our church too. 00:47:02.18\00:47:08.29 If you believe 00:47:08.32\00:47:09.66 that on the Sabbath you shouldn't buy and sell, 00:47:09.69\00:47:11.39 you should not go to restaurants to eat on Sabbath 00:47:11.43\00:47:13.46 that can put you outside the camp 00:47:13.50\00:47:14.86 of some in our church. 00:47:14.90\00:47:16.56 If you believe that the Spirit of Prophecy 00:47:16.60\00:47:18.13 is the inspired revelation from God, 00:47:18.17\00:47:20.74 it can put you outside the camp 00:47:20.77\00:47:22.20 in some circles today. 00:47:22.24\00:47:24.67 Anytime you dare to be too bold, 00:47:24.71\00:47:27.01 too honest for the average Adventist, 00:47:27.04\00:47:29.31 maybe you will be maligned. 00:47:29.34\00:47:31.18 Don't seek it, don't look for it. 00:47:31.21\00:47:33.58 Message. 00:47:33.62\00:47:35.48 But if it comes remember, Jesus went there before. 00:47:35.52\00:47:39.02 Amen. 00:47:39.05\00:47:41.06 He went there before. 00:47:41.09\00:47:42.42 As we come to a close, 00:47:47.03\00:47:50.03 we are naturally outside the gate 00:47:50.07\00:47:52.23 in our unconverted state. 00:47:52.27\00:47:53.97 Jesus wants us back in, to come to Him to the cross. 00:47:54.00\00:47:58.54 But even after we have accepted Jesus 00:47:58.57\00:48:00.54 and we are living with Him, 00:48:00.58\00:48:01.91 we have this struggle of sanctification, 00:48:01.94\00:48:03.28 and sometimes it puts us outside the gate. 00:48:03.31\00:48:05.25 Remember, when you are out there, 00:48:05.28\00:48:06.98 whatever you may be struggling with, 00:48:07.02\00:48:08.35 Jesus is there with you outside the gate. 00:48:08.38\00:48:11.82 He died outside the gate, I mean, 00:48:11.85\00:48:13.42 He is right there willing 00:48:13.46\00:48:15.29 and ready to accept you 00:48:15.32\00:48:16.86 when you come to Him. 00:48:16.89\00:48:18.23 Remember the text in the Bible where it says, 00:48:18.26\00:48:20.63 "If I be lifted up, 00:48:20.66\00:48:22.56 I will draw all men unto Me." 00:48:22.60\00:48:26.33 This morning, 00:48:26.37\00:48:27.70 what is it that you are struggling with? 00:48:27.74\00:48:29.10 What sin is holding you? 00:48:29.14\00:48:30.47 Is it anger? 00:48:30.51\00:48:31.84 Is it bitterness? 00:48:31.87\00:48:33.31 Is it lack of forgiveness? 00:48:33.34\00:48:35.21 Is it arrogant? Is it pride? 00:48:35.24\00:48:36.88 What are you struggling with today? 00:48:36.91\00:48:43.42 Don't struggle alone, know that outside the gate, 00:48:43.45\00:48:48.12 Jesus died so that you can be sanctified. 00:48:48.16\00:48:53.70 Amen. 00:48:53.73\00:48:55.06 So that you can be made whole. 00:48:55.10\00:48:57.63 This morning as we close, 00:48:57.67\00:48:59.00 I like to invite you to bow your heads. 00:48:59.03\00:49:01.97 May every head be bowed, and every eye be closed. 00:49:02.00\00:49:04.87 Father in heaven, as we come to a close today, 00:49:04.91\00:49:08.54 as we recognize Your word that gives us the encouragement 00:49:08.58\00:49:13.35 that You died outside the camp where we are. 00:49:13.38\00:49:18.49 Lord, we come to You with bowed heads, 00:49:18.52\00:49:24.53 humble hearts. 00:49:24.56\00:49:26.70 And Lord this morning, if there be anyone here. 00:49:26.73\00:49:32.40 I just want to give you an opportunity 00:49:32.43\00:49:34.04 to respond to God. 00:49:34.07\00:49:37.37 That in the silence of this moment, 00:49:37.41\00:49:40.04 what the Holy Spirit has convicted on your heart, 00:49:40.08\00:49:43.45 that secret sin that you 00:49:43.48\00:49:45.31 maybe even planning to do come Monday, Tuesday. 00:49:45.35\00:49:51.55 Or maybe, it's going to side 00:49:51.59\00:49:52.92 swipe you and catch you unaware. 00:49:52.95\00:49:54.82 Whatever it might be, 00:49:54.86\00:49:57.36 that secret sin that one that hold you down. 00:49:57.39\00:50:01.73 That attitude that you may have 00:50:01.76\00:50:04.50 that is destroying you spiritually. 00:50:04.53\00:50:07.34 If the Lord is convicting you at this moment 00:50:07.37\00:50:09.90 and you just want to say 00:50:09.94\00:50:11.34 in the silence of this moment to you and God. 00:50:11.37\00:50:14.54 Lord, take that from me, 00:50:14.58\00:50:16.54 I just want to invite you at this time 00:50:16.58\00:50:18.45 to raise your hand to heaven. 00:50:18.48\00:50:21.65 To raise your hand to raise it high, 00:50:21.68\00:50:24.15 God sees the hand, 00:50:24.19\00:50:25.62 He reads the heart. 00:50:25.65\00:50:29.69 Lord, you know Your children, 00:50:29.72\00:50:31.56 you know the struggles that we face. 00:50:31.59\00:50:33.26 And we thank you Lord 00:50:33.29\00:50:35.33 that You came down lived on this earth. 00:50:35.36\00:50:39.27 And that You forever share an affinity with us 00:50:39.30\00:50:42.30 through the blood You spilled outside the gate. 00:50:42.34\00:50:45.74 Lord bless us.
