00:31 Hello friends and welcome to Spring 2013 Camp Meeting
00:36 here at 3ABN. Want you to know if you're
00:39 just tuning in the blessings have been immense.
00:41 Can all of God's people say "Amen" to that?
00:43 Amen! We have been preached to.
00:45 We have been singing together... sung to.
00:48 We have had some wonderful teachings
00:50 by Dr. Magna Parks on topics that you
00:54 really don't want to miss. And if you've missed any,
00:56 I encourage you to try to get in touch with
00:58 this information by purchasing the DVDs
01:01 later on after Camp Meeting.
01:02 But I am your speaker for this hour.
01:05 It kind of seems self- serving to introduce myself.
01:07 But hey, the reason I enjoy doing that
01:09 is because I can make my introduction very short
01:11 so I can have more time for my sermon.
01:13 My name is John Lomacang
01:15 and the message today is entitled "False Armor. "
01:19 We are living in some very challenging times
01:22 and the Lord wants us to have on the only armor
01:25 that will get us through the trials that are ahead:
01:27 the whole armor of God.
01:30 Before I have the opportunity also to sing a song
01:33 that I feel really lays a foundation for the message
01:36 entitled False Armor.
01:37 We can find the best armor in the Word of God.
01:41 And so this song that I'll sing right after we have an
01:43 opening word of prayer will remind us that in a world
01:46 where hearts are falling apart
01:48 where people have been disappointed in all
01:51 the directions that they have focused their attention
01:53 if we focus our eyes on the Word of God
01:56 and find Christ His Word will not fail us
01:59 and His promises will carry us through.
02:01 So let's invite the presence of the Lord
02:03 to continue with us.
02:05 Our heavenly Father, we thank you that this afternoon,
02:08 Lord, is a time to praise You,
02:10 a time to focus hearts in this challenging society.
02:13 In a world that is disintegrating around us
02:17 and very few things that we trust can be relied on
02:21 for any length of time
02:23 we thank you that You are the same yesterday, today,
02:25 and forever and we thank you that Your Word never fails us.
02:29 And so Lord today, help us to put on the whole armor
02:32 of God, look away from the false things that disappoint
02:35 and that bring temporary excitement
02:38 and help us to stand on the foundation that will never fail:
02:41 the Rock Christ Jesus.
02:43 So be with us, Lord, and bless us by Your presence
02:46 and through the power of Your Holy Spirit.
02:48 In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
03:11 O soul,
03:14 are you weary and troubled?
03:21 No light in this darkness
03:25 you see?
03:29 There's light for a look at
03:34 the Savior,
03:38 and there's life more abundant
03:42 and free!
03:48 Turn your eyes
03:51 upon Jesus,
03:55 Look full in
03:58 His wonderful face;
04:03 And the things of earth
04:07 will grow strangely dim
04:13 In the light
04:16 of His glory
04:19 and grace.
04:36 His word
04:39 will not fail us
04:41 He's promised;
04:45 Believe it
04:46 and all will be well:
04:52 Then go to a world
04:56 that is dying
05:00 with His prefect salvation
05:04 to tell!
05:11 Turn your eyes
05:14 upon Jesus,
05:17 Look full in His
05:20 wonderful face;
05:25 And the things of earth
05:30 will grow strangely dim
05:37 In the light of His
05:41 glory
05:43 and grace...
05:48 In the light
05:51 of His glory
05:54 and grace...
06:03 In the light
06:06 of God's glory
06:09 and grace.
06:21 Amen.
06:28 If you have your Bibles I'd like you to go with me
06:30 to the book of Ephesians.
06:33 Ephesians chapter 6.
06:36 And the message is entitled False Armor.
06:40 Say that with me: False Armor.
06:44 The text I'd like you to focus on is Ephesians 6:11.
06:50 And I'd like us to read this together.
06:53 Now because I only have 50 minutes left
06:55 I'm going to preach like a New Yorker;
06:57 I want you to listen like a New Yorker. Is that OK?
07:00 And if you miss anything, get the DVD
07:03 and play it all over again.
07:05 I'm going to come at you fast and furious
07:08 and intense and solidly based on God's Word.
07:11 Is that all right? Let's begin at the proper place.
07:14 The Bible says: "Put on the whole armor of God
07:19 that you may be able to stand against the wiles
07:23 of the devil. "
07:25 The New York Times, January 7, 2006,
07:29 under an article entitled
07:30 The Pentagon Study links fatalities to body armor.
07:34 I discovered that in this article
07:37 a false sense of security in battle was revealed.
07:41 Just so I have not committed this to memory
07:44 I want to read the article so that you can get it exactly
07:47 how it was written in the New York Times.
07:52 It says as follows: "A secret Pentagon study
07:54 has found that as many as 80% of the Marines
07:59 who have been killed in Iraq
08:01 from wounds to the upper body
08:03 could have survived if they had extra body armor. "
08:09 But get this part:
08:11 "Such armor has been available since 2003. "
08:16 It was available 'cause this was written in 2006.
08:21 "But until recently the Pentagon has largely declined
08:24 to supply it to the troops despite repeated calls
08:29 from the field for additional protection
08:32 according to military officials.
08:35 The vulnerability of the military body armor has been
08:39 known since the start of the war. "
08:42 In other words, they sent soldiers into the field
08:45 with sub-standard body armor, knowing it since the war began,
08:50 and repeatedly refusing to send body armor...
08:53 even though they knew that their soldiers were in jeopardy.
08:58 It says: "The vulnerability of the military's body armor
09:01 has been known since the start of the war
09:03 and is part of a series of problems that has surrounded
09:08 the protection of American troops. "
09:11 And I'll repeat again the statistics:
09:13 80% of the fatalities that occurred in Iraq
09:16 could have been avoided if the troops had been covered
09:20 by the best armor.
09:23 Eighty percent.
09:25 That's a lot of fatalities that we could have avoided. Amen?
09:28 The armor was available
09:31 but the request for protection was denied.
09:34 The weakness of the armor was known since the war began.
09:38 Now when I read that article I immediately... with
09:41 my preacher's mind I saw that there was a spiritual
09:43 parallel there. Ever since the war began
09:46 on earth between good and evil
09:50 false armor has been given to those living on the earth.
09:55 Weak body armor.
09:57 And the reason why fatalities will increase in the end...
10:01 the reason why there will be so many that are lost
10:04 as the Bible says in Revelation "as the sands of the sea"
10:08 is because even Christians are settling for false armor.
10:14 Armor that is not sufficient enough to protect us
10:17 in this time of intensifying battle.
10:20 I believe as we get closer to the end
10:22 the battle between light and darkness, between truth
10:25 and error, between Christ and Satan,
10:27 between good and evil is going to intensify.
10:29 Do you believe that? It's going to get worse!
10:32 Thus it behooves us that we have the best armor.
10:37 That's why Ephesians says: "Put on the whole armor of God that
10:42 we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. "
10:45 Often times we read the phrase by the apostle Paul
10:48 "the wiles of the devil"
10:49 and fail to comprehend the deeper meaning.
10:51 Paul is not talking about a wild devil
10:54 because Satan is very organized.
10:56 Satan is very strategic; Satan is very patient.
10:59 He waits for the proper time.
11:01 He waits when his prey is least suspecting.
11:04 He is not a wild devil but a wily devil.
11:09 He looks at us... he studies us.
11:11 He has, I suggest to you today, a file on every one of our
11:14 strengths and every one of our weaknesses.
11:18 And he waits for the most opportune time
11:20 to come at us with his temptations.
11:23 He waits like the boxer in the ring
11:28 when his opponent is at his weakest
11:31 to hit him the hardest.
11:34 I decided to study that word "the wiles of the devil"
11:37 and in the dictionary I discovered these words
11:42 are synonymous to the word wiles:
11:45 Trickery, a con, a hoax, a scam, a ploy,
11:51 a stunt, deception, and subterfuge.
11:55 In other words, things that really don't appear the way
11:58 they really are, coming at you from an angle that you are not
12:01 suspecting of. Conning you when you are completely unaware
12:05 that you're falling for it.
12:07 And then my mind took me back to that 1949 cartoon
12:10 called The Road Runner. Anybody remember that?
12:14 Wile E. Coyote.
12:16 I said: "Wile E... " Then all of a sudden you know
12:19 I'm admitting I'm a little older than some of the young folk
12:21 that are around here.
12:24 But I remember watching that cartoon. It came out in 1949.
12:28 It was called Wile E. Coyote before they called it
12:31 The Road Runner. And it was put together by Looney Tunes.
12:35 Anything put together by something called Looney Tunes
12:37 you should question whether or not to watch it.
12:39 Looney Tunes.
12:41 But in each of the episodes Wile E. Coyote
12:44 used elaborate plans - listen carefully -
12:47 and complex devices
12:49 to pursue his enemies... to pursue his prey.
12:53 The intention was to get the Road Runner
12:57 to fall into a trap that would result in his own destruction.
13:02 I suggest to you today
13:04 that Satan is using elaborate devices
13:07 and complex contraptions.
13:10 He's using elaborate plans,
13:13 and his intent is to try to trap us into falling into
13:17 something that will result in our own destruction.
13:21 Thus, it's important that we put on the whole armor of God.
13:25 Peter said it well in I Peter 5 and verse 8.
13:28 You can turn there with me but I'm going to read it
13:29 as you're turning. He said: "Be sober. "
13:32 Say that word together with me. Sober.
13:34 "Be sober, be vigilant because your adversary the devil
13:38 walketh about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may...
13:43 devour. "
13:45 Roaring lion.
13:46 I learned something years ago from Elder Brooks.
13:49 And every time I read that text I fail not to represent that,
13:52 to mention that. He said: "In the jungle the lion
13:55 that roars is the male lion.
13:57 The male lion roars and you hear the roar in that direction
14:01 and then which direction do you run?
14:03 In the opposite direction...
14:05 and the female is there to collect the groceries. "
14:08 She doesn't roar. He roars from the chest
14:12 in such a body-shaking roar
14:16 that you run as fast as you can. And the female lion is
14:20 waiting there with her basket to collect the groceries.
14:23 That's why when you hear the roar of a lion
14:26 you've got to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.
14:30 Don't always run. You've got to stand firm
14:33 in the promises of Christ.
14:35 Ellen White says in Great Controversy page 593-
14:38 this is an amazing quotation - she says:
14:41 "Satan employs every possible device
14:45 to prevent men from obtaining a knowledge
14:47 of the Bible, for it's plain utterances reveal
14:51 his deception. " Why would he want us to study our Bibles
14:55 if it reveals his deception?
14:57 "This is the best blueprint...
15:00 this is the best battle plan that we have:
15:03 to fortify our minds with the protection we need
15:06 against the wiles of the devil. "
15:08 She goes on to say: "None but those who have
15:12 fortified the mind with the truths of the Bible
15:15 will stand through the last great conflict. "
15:18 Do you know why? Because they've spent time not
15:21 with the devices that have... preventing them from obtaining
15:24 a knowledge of the Bible but they've spent their time
15:27 with the Bible. Amen somebody. Amen.
15:29 Bible study... something that's kind of getting old.
15:34 In a generation where they expect things to respond
15:36 in a nanosecond, in a millisecond,
15:39 we can click our devices... And I'm a gadgetarian
15:42 and I always say that... but I still love something
15:45 that has never lost its inspiration to me.
15:47 I still love studying the Bible by turnings its pages.
15:51 Amen? Amen. I mean, you cannot find that in any device.
15:54 I've got it on my iPad. I've got all the translations,
15:56 I've got all the commentaries,
15:58 I've got all of Ellen White's writings...
16:00 but nothing replaces feeling the Bible.
16:04 It's like sword fighting with an iPad.
16:07 You can see the sword there but you've seen an iPad.
16:09 You know, paper tigers are just that... paper tigers.
16:13 We need to be able to feel the armor.
16:15 And by the way, do you know that in the...
16:17 in the armor of God the only piece of the weapon
16:21 that is offensive is the Word of God: the sword of the Spirit.
16:25 Everything else is for protection.
16:27 If you don't know how to use your Bible, you have no weapon
16:30 to fight against the enemy in times of battle.
16:34 You will be defenseless.
16:36 That's why Wednesday night Bible study is so vitally
16:38 important. That's why every time the Word of God is studied
16:41 the people of God should be there.
16:43 Regardless of who the presenter is
16:46 if we're looking at the Word of God as Jesus speaking
16:49 to us directly we will always find that there is a blessing
16:53 available for us.
16:54 Some people say: "Who's giving the Bible study tonight? "
16:56 That should never be the question. Amen?
16:58 "Who's giving the study tonight? "
17:00 No, it should be: "Are they reading from the Word of God? "
17:03 If they're studying God's Word and we are connected
17:06 with God's Word, we will always find
17:08 that God always has a message to communicate to us
17:13 when we are studying His love letter
17:15 to the people that He loves.
17:18 In the final showdown between heaven and hell -
17:21 it's on the horizon right now - the most intense battle
17:24 to face this planet is now in its planning stages
17:27 and Satan is using subterfuge, scams, trickery, and deception.
17:33 And he's aiming it at the Christian churches
17:35 and many Christians are becoming casualties
17:38 because they are settling for false armor.
17:41 Go to I Timothy with me... I Timothy chapter 4 and verse 1.
17:45 I'm going to outline five things in just a brief moment
17:48 that you've got to remember
17:50 and I'm going to go through them quite rapidly.
17:52 But they're going to be on the screen so you won't miss it.
17:55 So get a pen and paper ready. I'm going to give you 5 points
17:58 that indicate whether or not you are being affected
18:00 by false armor. I Timothy 4 talks about
18:04 the conditions of the last days. He says in verse 1:
18:06 "Now the Spirit expressly says
18:10 that in the latter times some will depart from the faith
18:15 giving heed... " To what kind of spirits?
18:17 "seducing and deceiving spirits
18:20 and doctrines of demons. "
18:25 Now just think about that for a moment.
18:27 Doctrines of demons.
18:31 To go even further there are some churches
18:34 that claim not to teach doctrines at all.
18:40 And as you see on the screen, evidence #1 that you are
18:43 surrounded by false armor is this:
18:46 the claim not to teach doctrine
18:51 is false armor evidence #1.
18:59 Do you know the word doctrine what it means?
19:01 It simply means teachings.
19:04 Jesus repeatedly referred to the importance of doctrine.
19:07 Some people have taken that word "doctrine"
19:10 and made the word doctrine into a doctrine itself.
19:13 So they say: "We don't teach that doctrine
19:15 or we don't teach doctrine at all because doctrine
19:17 is divisive. " Doctrine is not divisive.
19:20 Doctrine does not divide... it reveals.
19:24 And so if a church claims not to teach doctrine...
19:27 not to teach doctrine at all,
19:29 that's a church that you should avoid.
19:32 I remember one of our members that came...
19:35 because a member here. I may have told this story.
19:37 I've told so many stories I can keep up with the ones
19:39 that I'm telling. But they're all true. Amen for that!
19:43 And he told the story about he was standing next to his
19:45 pastor's Bible and he saw his pastor's Bible highlighted
19:49 with yellow all over. And he was so excited
19:51 that his pastor was a very deep Bible student.
19:55 And he said to his pastor: 'I notice that you have your
19:58 very highlighted in yellow in so many different places. "
20:01 He said: "Have you studied all that? "
20:03 He said: "Oh no. When I went to seminary
20:05 those parts that are highlighted
20:07 I was told never to talk about. "
20:12 I won't tell you what denomination.
20:13 I want to be respectful.
20:15 And he and his wife showed up here on a Wednesday night
20:18 and he said: "That the reason why we're here. " Amen somebody?
20:21 Amen! See we teach doctrine but we keep it centered
20:23 on Christ. What do you say? Amen!
20:25 Doctrine without Christ is nothing but... is like...
20:29 is like truth without the Spirit.
20:30 As the Bible says, we must worship the Lord
20:33 "in Spirit and in truth. " Somebody once said:
20:35 "Too much Spirit... you blow up;
20:38 too much truth you dry up;
20:40 but when you put them both together you grow up. "
20:44 "In Spirit and in truth. "
20:47 But the Bible warns us how important it is
20:50 to not accept false armor.
20:53 Go with me to I Samuel chapter 17.
20:55 I know you know where that is. Turn there very quickly.
20:57 I Samuel 17:38-39.
21:00 Notice how the Bible talks about how important it is
21:03 for us to have armor that we have tried ourselves.
21:07 You know you can't win with somebody else's armor.
21:09 I think you know where I'm going.
21:10 Some of you are theologically sound. You know exactly where
21:13 I'm headed. If you haven't tested it for yourself,
21:16 don't put it on and don't accept it.
21:18 And it must be tested by the Word of God.
21:21 I Samuel 17:38 reads as follows:
21:24 "So Saul clothed David with his armor
21:28 and he put a bronze helmet on his head. "
21:32 That is, he put his bronze helmet on David's head.
21:35 "He also clothed him with a coat of mail.
21:40 David fastened his sword to his armor... "
21:42 That is he fastened Saul's sword and tried to walk.
21:46 "for he had not tested them.
21:49 And David said to Saul: 'I cannot walk with these
21:52 for I have not tested them. ' So David... " Did what, church?
21:57 He "took them off. "
21:59 If somebody tries to sell you something that has not been
22:02 tested, take it off. Come on... say "Amen" to that.
22:05 Don't even put it on!
22:07 Notice the context here.
22:09 Saul was trying to put his armor on David
22:13 and Paul says: "Put on the whole armor of God. "
22:17 You cannot put on your mother's armor.
22:19 You can't put on the deacon's armor.
22:21 You can't put on your husband or your wife's armor.
22:23 You've got to have your own armor
22:24 and that armor is furnished by nobody else
22:27 than the best armor maker I've ever known: Jesus Christ.
22:31 "Put on the whole armor of God. "
22:33 We are told to test all things and hold fast
22:37 to that which is good.
22:40 And so today, when you go to different churches
22:42 and different movements, I've discovered something
22:44 very important. When somebody is afraid
22:47 to test what he believes or she believes
22:50 that's evidence that the armor is false.
22:55 When the Bible does not support what someone believes
22:58 it's also an evidence that the armor is false.
23:04 You've got to have Bible support for what you believe.
23:07 Amen? Nowadays doctrines are coming from
23:11 all different directions and all different schools...
23:14 even schools of philosophy.
23:17 In an article... and I don't want to give you the person's
23:20 name because this person is a contemporary.
23:22 But if you look up the article it's called Four Ways
23:26 Christians Are Being Deceived.
23:28 The article was first published in 1990
23:31 and then published again in 2010.
23:33 And I found amazing the four points that were brought out
23:37 by this writer in the Four Ways
23:39 That Christians Are Being Deceived.
23:42 The first one he talked about was
23:44 our second evidence.
23:54 Let me follow this very carefully and make it very clear
23:57 to you: Accepting the repackaged lie.
24:00 Let's go back to the very beginning.
24:01 Did Satan tell Eve the truth or not?
24:04 Huh?
24:06 He lied to her!
24:07 The Bible says he is "the father of lies. "
24:10 And not only that, he is the author of confusion.
24:13 So he lied to Eve in the very beginning.
24:17 Get the context: Eve is a woman. The woman represents the church.
24:20 He is lying to the church even still today.
24:24 There is a particular practice that finds its home in many
24:28 Christian circles. It's called neo-paganism.
24:30 Say that with me... neo-paganism.
24:33 I know some of you had a really good lunch
24:35 but right now you've got to battle that lunch.
24:38 Let the lunch be digested... don't let you be digested!
24:41 Want you to catch what I'm saying.
24:43 Neo-paganism. And what neo-paganism...
24:46 Because we use these big phrases. When people go home
24:48 and for weeks later they are trying to figure out
24:50 what neo-paganism is.
24:51 Let me make it very clear. Neo-paganism in short is this:
24:55 the claim to be spiritual while not being scriptural.
25:02 The claim to be spiritual while not being scriptural.
25:08 There are many people that claim they have high levels of
25:10 spirituality, but the Bible says in the last days
25:14 the evidences of that happening to the world
25:17 and to the churches is simply this:
25:18 "having a form of godliness
25:23 but denying the power thereof. "
25:27 There are those individuals that "Oh man, my nature's real
25:30 spiritual. " You give people Bible studies
25:32 and they say they are very spiritual.
25:33 What always amazes me is how do people that are so
25:36 spiritual not want to study the Bible?
25:41 Have you noticed that?
25:43 And people will say... Well you show them what the
25:47 Word of God says and then they'll say:
25:49 "Well I'm going to wait for the Holy Spirit
25:51 to convince me of that. "
25:54 "I'm going to wait for God to reveal it to me. "
25:58 Kind of like the guy on his roof and it's flooding
26:00 and they send a helicopter and he says: "I'm waiting
26:03 for help. "
26:06 You know the story. I think I did it backwards.
26:09 First it was a canoe...
26:10 First it was somebody on the ground, and a canoe
26:13 and then the helicopter. And he says: "I'm praying
26:15 for God to deliver me. "
26:17 All the evidences are very clear.
26:18 Let me make it very clear. If it's from the Word of God,
26:21 it is imbued by the power and the direction
26:26 of God's Holy Spirit.
26:28 If it's in the Bible, it's there because all scripture is given
26:33 by inspiration of God.
26:35 So if somebody says to you: "You know, I know what it says.
26:39 I know what it teaches, but I'm waiting for the Holy Spirit. "
26:42 And then there's some people... And I'm always leery about
26:45 phrases like this. And this is part of the neo-paganistic
26:48 terminologies nowadays.
26:50 "You know, the Spirit just told me. "
26:52 And that's supposed to override what the Bible teaches.
26:55 There are lots of people on television.
26:58 "Oh, God just gave me a message for you. "
27:01 You'd better run north if they're hanging out
27:04 in the south. Amen? Be careful, because if it
27:07 doesn't measure up to the Word of God it's nothing more
27:10 than neo-paganism claiming to be spiritual
27:14 but not scriptural at all.
27:16 And then the ideology of neo-paganism is this:
27:19 your beliefs and my beliefs are no different...
27:22 result in the salvation of both of us.
27:25 So some people say: "I don't have to believe
27:26 what you believe but I'm saved too! "
27:28 And I'm only asking myself the question:
27:30 "Your driving directions are different than mine
27:33 and we're both going the same place? "
27:39 And for people that don't think it's important
27:42 to have the right directions
27:43 tell that to the pilot next time you take a flight.
27:48 "I just enjoy the flight...
27:49 I don't really care where you're going. "
27:51 And they always say when the door is closed:
27:54 "If your final destination is not Seattle,
27:57 this is a good time to get off. "
28:00 You see: if you don't care about your destination,
28:03 then just go to the airport and hang out!
28:05 But I do care about my destination. Anybody else?
28:09 I want to get to heaven.
28:10 I don't want to just hang out in Christianity
28:12 and end up being lost.
28:14 They also say in neo-paganistic circles
28:18 "We serve the same God... all that matters
28:22 is that we just love the Lord. "
28:26 And you say: "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "
28:28 "Well, that's your interpretation. "
28:31 And I ask myself: "How many ways can you read that text? "
28:36 But the Lord knew this was coming. Isaiah 4 verse 1
28:39 "And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man
28:42 and this is what they'll say: 'We will eat our own bread.
28:46 We'll wear our own apparel.
28:49 Only let us be called by your name' - Christian label -
28:53 'to take away our reproach. ' "
28:55 Our own bread... our own doctrine.
28:57 Our own apparel... our own righteousness.
28:59 Our own level of... "I'm right; you're right.
29:02 I'm righteous; you're righteous. It doesn't really matter. "
29:06 That's why the people of God must remember that God has
29:09 called us for a special purpose and a special time.
29:13 I say this with respect to all Christians but I must say this:
29:17 "If God has revealed to you a clear message and you choose
29:22 not to communicate it,
29:25 and you choose not to give the trumpet a certain sound,
29:27 the people that should be warned are not warned
29:31 and their blood is required at your hand. "
29:33 Isn't that right?
29:35 God has given this church a message, and it's too late
29:38 for us to think that we could preach the same message
29:40 that every other church preaches
29:42 and still be faithful to the call of God on our lives. Amen?
29:46 That's very simple. There's lots of things we can share
29:49 but when you preach the Word of God
29:53 you've got to remember what they say when you stand in the
29:56 court 'cause one day we are all going to stand before the Judge.
29:58 What do they say?
30:00 "Do you solemnly swear to tell... " What?
30:02 "the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. "
30:06 That's the call that God has placed on this church.
30:10 What do you say? Amen!
30:11 And by the way, that call is placed on all Christians.
30:14 Whether or not you accept that call
30:16 determines where you end up.
30:18 The whole truth and nothing but the truth.
30:22 Those that are claiming to be on another road
30:24 I like one of the programs I saw... I don't necessarily
30:27 like it but I like the response one of the viewers had
30:29 when they watched a very famous person on television.
30:32 I won't tell you what her name is.
30:34 But she once said to the audience:
30:38 "There are many ways to God. "
30:40 Neo-paganism. "There are many ways to God. "
30:44 And a Christian lady stood up in the audience
30:48 and said: "No, there are not many ways to God.
30:51 There's only one way to God and that's through Jesus. "
30:53 And then the talk show hostess said: "Well how can you say that
30:57 when so many people are finding God different ways? "
30:59 And she said: "I'm sorry. Just because you say
31:01 that that's not the way Jesus said: 'I am the Way;
31:04 I am the Truth; I am the Life
31:06 and no one comes to the Father except through Me. ' "
31:11 And so in respect of all of the smorgasbord of Christianity,
31:15 all of the different labels of religion
31:18 in all of its innumerable forms,
31:20 Jesus is still the only way to the Father.
31:26 Evidence #3... evidence #3:
31:37 Blurred distinctions.
31:41 Wednesday night you know we have a Bible study here.
31:44 Live every Wednesday night 7 o'clock Central Time on 3ABN.
31:47 That's not an advertisement. 7 o'clock Central Time 3ABN.
31:51 Live Bible study.
31:53 Now it's called A Sharper Focus.
31:56 This fits into my point right here.
31:59 Why is it called A Sharper Focus?
32:01 Because if a picture is out of focus you cannot
32:03 do anything with it once that picture's taken.
32:06 You cannot focus a blurry picture
32:09 no matter what tools you use on the Internet.
32:12 There are no tools that can focus a blurry picture.
32:19 You've got to make sure it's in focus before you take the shot.
32:23 In the very same way, Christians are accepting
32:27 teachings that are blurred at best.
32:30 Listen to what this individual included in the article.
32:33 Listen very carefully.
32:35 He pointed out that the message and the priorities of the church
32:40 are becoming indistinguishable from the world.
32:44 He said: "I can't tell whether that is being put on by the
32:47 world or being put on by the church. "
32:52 I went to a Christian concert once
32:54 and it was sponsored by Budweiser.
33:04 Now who was putting on? This is what I was shocked with,
33:09 this is way back in the 80's...
33:11 before I was a pastor so quiet down.
33:15 Now I asked myself the question:
33:17 "Did this Christian group invite Budweiser
33:21 to be at their concert?
33:22 Or did Budweiser put out the money to invite this
33:26 Christian group to be there so they could sell? "
33:30 Isn't that an oxy-moron?
33:32 A Christian group sponsored by Budweiser.
33:36 Blurred distinctions. You cannot tell
33:38 if the world is doing this or the church is doing it.
33:41 I've got to go fast enough because I've got more to cover.
33:43 But the blurred distinction... Listen carefully.
33:46 It says: "New Age, occult and fiction books are being sold
33:51 in Christian bookstores
33:52 blurring the distinctions of truth and error. "
33:55 You can't really tell anymore.
33:57 I went to a Christian bookstore one day and I saw an entire
33:59 section in the Christian bookstore, and this big old
34:01 broad sign above the top of it said FICTION.
34:05 And I went to the counter and I said:
34:06 "Why do you sell fiction in a Christian bookstore? "
34:09 And he said: "Well I just work here. "
34:13 It's a good response: "I just work here. "
34:17 And I said to myself: "Since when was fiction
34:20 acceptable in a Christian setting? "
34:24 And all the titles there. You know, all the many volumes
34:27 of Left Behind. As Steve Wohlberg said:
34:32 "The truth is the only thing that was left behind. "
34:35 Fiction. He goes on to say:
34:39 "These books teach that humans are evolving to godhood,
34:42 that we must become mystics and use Eastern meditation,
34:45 and they advocate a one-world government. "
34:48 But this is something else that really caught my attention.
34:51 "They also support the philosophy of the emerging
34:54 church. " Have you heard about that phrase
34:56 "the emerging church? "
34:58 I've studied it and I thought to myself: "That is amazing! "
35:01 The emerging church happens
35:04 in the context of something that is not called a movement
35:08 but is called "a conversation. "
35:11 In other words, the emerging church philosophy is this:
35:13 "You may be Baptist, Pentecostal, Presbyterian,
35:15 Methodist, Lutheran, Anglican, or Adventist.
35:17 That's great. Let's drop all the labels,
35:20 forget what you believe, and let's have a conversation
35:23 and see what we can agree on. "
35:25 You know what the #1 is thing that they all agree on
35:28 in the emerging church movement?
35:30 Sorry... the emerging church conversation.
35:32 They all agree that the institutional
35:35 and the organized church must be disbanded.
35:45 And they all agree that it's better to be
35:49 community centered than Christ centered.
35:55 So let's do what we can do for our community...
35:58 let's not preach things that are going to divide us.
36:00 Let's get together in this ecumenical push
36:03 to all be one but not based on the Word of God.
36:06 Let's develop one mind.
36:08 As the Bible say in Revelation 17: "They will have
36:11 one mind and give their power to the beast. "
36:14 Then there's also spiritual formation.
36:16 I'd love to do an entire week on that alone.
36:18 Spiritual formation. Praying and asking for the Spirit to do
36:22 strange and unusual things to bring a feeling to let you
36:25 know that you are now in contact. You have actually
36:27 crossed over into the spiritual experience.
36:29 And then contemplative spirituality.
36:32 All these methods are part of the things that are causing
36:34 the church to have blurred distinction.
36:37 It's hard now to pick out the truth from the false.
36:40 But here's the point I want to make:
36:42 if you begin your examination
36:45 by measuring everything against the Word of God,
36:48 there'll never be a problem finding out what is true
36:50 and what is false
36:52 if the Word of God is the guide. Amen somebody?
36:55 Amen! Let the Word of God be the measuring guide.
36:57 Let the Word of God be the ruler
36:59 and there will be no blurred distinction.
37:01 Because when the picture of God's Word was developed
37:05 it was clear from the very beginning.
37:08 It's not blurred... it's clear.
37:12 You also find spiritualism,
37:14 the New Age, mysticism, occultism,
37:17 and Eastern meditations are all a part of this now
37:22 developing, emerging church environment.
37:25 And so we can have the gigachurch and the megachurch
37:28 and the large movements doing all these things...
37:31 and they do it all in the name of Christ.
37:33 But you know what Jesus said in Matthew 7 verse 21?
37:35 "Not everybody that says unto Me 'Lord, Lord'
37:38 shall... " Do what? "enter the kingdom of heaven
37:40 but only those who do the will of My Father
37:43 which is in heaven. ' "
37:44 Amen? Amen!
37:46 Boy, that pizza must have been really heavy.
37:50 I'm just trying... that's a reset.
37:53 The point of the matter is this:
37:55 if the message is not clear the enemy is not identifiable.
38:00 Don't forget that. If the trumpet is not given
38:03 the right sound... Can you imagine playing taps
38:06 during the time of a battle?
38:09 Here it is: the enemy is coming and you're playing
38:12 ta-da-da... ta-da-da...
38:16 If that's what you're playing,
38:17 you're talking about your own death not theirs!
38:20 Am I telling the truth?
38:22 The trumpet must give a certain sound
38:25 and as Paul says: "If the trumpet makes an uncertain sound
38:28 who will prepare for battle? "
38:30 Evidence #4.
38:38 This one was really interesting.
38:39 Now you guys are going to get home and look at this all over
38:41 again and say: "I've got it! " But until then, let me
38:44 read the text to you. II Corinthians 6:14.
38:47 Go there quickly with me.
38:48 Exercise is a good thing... get your body moving.
38:52 The Bible says in II Corinthians 6:14:
38:56 "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers,
39:02 for what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness
39:06 and what communion has light with... " What?
39:10 "darkness? "
39:12 In the article this gentleman pointed out
39:15 that Christian leaders and Christian organizations
39:19 are more and more connecting themselves with
39:24 unbiblical pagan groups and movements
39:28 which set the followers up for a synthesis, syncretism,
39:34 and compromise of doctrine and priorities.
39:37 Now I just said a whole lot and you didn't even catch it.
39:40 But let's go to the first book of Samuel.
39:43 First book of Samuel... you'll get the picture right here.
39:45 I Samuel chapter 28. You've got to move fast.
39:49 Come on, let's get... There we go.
39:52 I hear the oil; I could hear the pages turning.
39:56 This is a text you've read before, but I'm going to
39:59 share with you in a different light.
40:01 Because when we talk about being unequally yoked together,
40:05 uniting ourselves with those that are in fact spiritists
40:08 to accomplish spiritual designs,
40:11 this is the most amazing passage.
40:13 And my wife... I told her about this when I was doing
40:16 the sermon. I had no intentions of using this text
40:19 but I knew the Lord inspired me
40:21 because this text says it so well.
40:23 Three points, very carefully. Are you ready? Here we go.
40:27 Verses 7 to 10.
40:29 "Then Saul said to his servants: 'Find me a woman
40:31 who is a medium... " When I read this...
40:33 think about it, church.
40:35 The woman represents the church.
40:36 'Find me a woman who is a medium
40:38 that I may go to her and inquire of her. '
40:41 And his servant said to him: 'In fact, there is a woman
40:44 who is a medium at Endor. ' "
40:46 Thus we had... Bewitched... her mother was from Endor.
40:50 Endora.
40:51 "So Saul disguised himself... "
40:54 What did he do, church? He did what?
40:56 He disguised himself; he went to find a woman who was a medium.
40:59 "So he disguised himself, put on other clothes... " -
41:04 all spiritually significant -
41:06 "and he went and two men with him.
41:09 And they came to the woman by night. "
41:12 That's what happens when you're going away from God.
41:14 "And he said: 'Please conduct a séance for me
41:16 and bring up for me the one I shall name to you. '
41:21 Then the woman said to him: 'Look,
41:23 you know what Saul has done.
41:24 How he has cut off the mediums
41:26 and the spiritists from the land.
41:27 Why then do you lay a snare for my life
41:30 to cause me to die? ' "
41:32 And get this:
41:34 "And Saul swore to her by the Lord
41:37 saying: 'As the Lord lives
41:41 no punishment shall come upon you for this thing. ' "
41:46 Now here are the three things he did
41:48 that's prevalent in Christianity today.
41:51 First, a man of God sought demonic aid.
41:57 Now that may sound hard,
42:00 but how do you think Babylon is going to get to the place
42:03 where it's the cage of every foul spirit
42:05 and unclean and hated bird?
42:07 How do you think we get to the place where Babylon
42:10 has to be destroyed?
42:11 Because to get to the place where those who are a part of
42:15 that institution are being affected by the institution
42:19 and that's why the Lord is going to say...
42:20 Because He loves His people He's going to say to them what?
42:23 "Come out of her, My people. "
42:28 And many churches today... Well let me just make the point
42:31 before I go to the next level.
42:32 First of all, a godly man sought demonic aid.
42:35 Secondly, he hid his identity.
42:40 In other words, his identity wasn't the same
42:44 as it was before. He covered himself in different clothing.
42:48 He clothed himself in a different garb.
42:50 And the third thing - what's most amazing to me -
42:53 is he guaranteed God's support
42:57 for demonic activity.
42:59 He said: "Nothing... No punishment shall come upon you
43:03 for this thing. " And nowadays... I did a series
43:06 entitled "Unclean Spirits. "
43:08 If you haven't seen that before, you should get a copy of it.
43:10 It's the most amazing thing. Talks about the occult
43:12 and the entertainment industry.
43:14 It shows you how churches are incorporating
43:18 in their very forms of worship
43:21 things that should never be included in a place
43:24 that is claiming to be led by God's Holy Spirit.
43:28 Am I telling the truth?
43:31 But the other thing is amazing like this text
43:33 they are saying that "Don't worry about it.
43:35 There'll be no punishment for us participating in
43:38 this kind of activity. "
43:41 According to the text that's what I got from it.
43:43 Saul said to the woman.
43:45 And the reality today is many churches are becoming
43:48 nothing more than a medium for Satan
43:52 to communicate a diabolical message.
43:55 They use the Bible but they exclude the key elements.
44:00 There are many preachers that are not interested in Bible
44:02 integrity at all.
44:04 I was sitting down having a Bible study with a pastor once
44:07 and he kept asking me questions.
44:09 And I kept answering him from the Bible
44:11 and you know, he broke.. He said: "Would you stop
44:12 telling me what the Bible says
44:14 and just tell me what you believe. "
44:17 I've told Bro. Dick that story a number of times
44:20 and I said to him... I said:
44:21 "Excuse me? " I said: "You know, in reality
44:24 my word has no weight... " Isn't that right?
44:27 "but I'm concerned about what the Bible says.
44:29 If the Bible says it it's safe. "
44:31 But he was more interested in what my opinion was
44:35 rather than the Bible.
44:37 There's a very popular television show and every now
44:40 and then I get a chance to peek at it. And there's
44:41 a whole panel of pastors. And they get together,
44:43 people ask questions and they try to...
44:46 You know, they all answer from their opinions.
44:49 And I tried to get on that Bible program once.
44:51 It was a different denomination.
44:53 And I was excited because I was invited to be on that
44:56 Bible program and I said: "Oh great!
44:59 I'll be able to sit on a Bible panel and finally be able to
45:02 answer questions from God's Word. "
45:04 And the person said: "I'll get you on there. "
45:07 And I said: "I'm looking forward to it. "
45:10 I met somebody last week and I said: "Whatever happened
45:13 to that invitation I got?
45:14 And they said: "Well they came up with some really strange
45:17 excuse why they couldn't include you. "
45:20 And I said: "I'll tell you what the #1 excuse it:
45:22 I use the Bible and they don't. " Come on somebody,
45:25 say "Amen. " Amen!
45:26 That's the problem with Christianity nowadays:
45:29 there are lots of people that don't use the Bible.
45:31 And the Lord says: "For such are false apostles,
45:34 deceitful workers transforming themselves
45:37 into the apostles of Christ. " II Corinthians 11:13.
45:41 That's what Satan does.
45:43 They are unequally yoking themselves together.
45:48 I'll tell you something else, and I'm going to spend a minute
45:50 on this because I don't have a whole lot of minutes left.
45:53 'Cause I've got to get to the last one.
45:56 There's something called Do Your Own Homework.
45:59 It's called Hegelian dialetics.
46:01 Let's try to say that without chewing up your tongue.
46:04 Are you ready? Here we go: Hegelian dialetics.
46:08 Let me just tell you the story quickly.
46:09 This is what Hegelian dialetics is.
46:11 When someone observes a conflict in society
46:13 the tendency is to try to figure out
46:16 which side is good and which side is bad.
46:20 And then we jump onboard the band wagon
46:23 of the good guys.
46:26 Because of how a professing Christian reacts against
46:29 the bad guys they yoke themselves up
46:32 with the good guys... not realizing that Satan
46:34 is controlling both sides.
46:36 That's the Hegelian concept.
46:38 That's why, my brothers and sisters, let me appeal to you.
46:41 We've got to get rid of this terminology in our church:
46:44 conservative and liberal.
46:46 I wish I had a big "Amen" on that.
46:48 Amen. 'Cause every time election comes the Adventist church
46:51 gets split down the center.
46:53 We become more enemies of each other
46:56 than enemies of Satan.
46:58 I'm telling the truth; I know that to be a fact.
47:01 I steer clear of that in the pulpit... keep politics out.
47:05 We've got these terms "conservative" and "liberal" -
47:07 the Hegelian concept.
47:08 Doesn't matter who's in the seat...
47:10 there's one agenda - Amen! - and it does not get lost.
47:15 Doesn't matter who the pope is, the aim of Rome is the same.
47:19 Doesn't matter who the leader- ship is, there's an overall plan
47:23 that never is off course.
47:25 And so they use a phrase like thesis,
47:27 antithesis, and synthesis.
47:28 In other words, a thesis gives rise to a reaction
47:31 somebody may say. Let me use an example.
47:33 Somebody may stand up and say: "I believe in marriage. "
47:35 And all the Christians say: "Amen; praise the Lord. "
47:38 And then they bring up an antithesis. They say:
47:40 "But I also believe that every- body should have the right. "
47:46 And the people that don't believe in traditional marriage
47:49 say "Amen" and then they bring up a synthesis.
47:52 And then they say: "Because I believe in marriage,
47:55 because I believe in people having individual rights,
47:57 I believe everybody should have the right to marry
47:59 whomever they want to. "
48:02 Synthesis.
48:05 Thesis: you agree. Antithesis: ohhhhhhhhhhhh,
48:10 contradicts what I said.
48:12 And then synthesis: two opposing sides merge.
48:16 How do you think gay marriages
48:19 are happening in Christian churches?
48:23 Marriage and gay opposing. How do they ever get synthesized?
48:29 Because somebody cleverly tests the Hegelian dialetics
48:32 used by many theologians today.
48:36 So be careful when people get you passionately connected
48:39 to an issue. Check it out by God's Word.
48:42 Forget your passion; let the passion come from God's Word.
48:45 What do you say? Amen!
48:47 That's how people are passing things in laws
48:49 'cause people get obsessed. I was listening to the news
48:52 when I was coming back from Minnesota oh, a number of...
48:54 I can't remember when we went. But I was in the airport
48:56 and because of the rising challenges with terrorism
49:00 the question was asked: "How many Americans are willing
49:04 to give up a certain level of freedom
49:08 to guarantee safety from terrorism? "
49:11 I was shocked. 73% of Americans are willing to give up something
49:15 of their Bill of Rights to guarantee...
49:20 to guarantee... How could you guarantee that you are free
49:23 from a terrorist when you don't even know who they are?
49:28 Don't give up your freedom.
49:31 Freedom is bought and paid for. Don't give it up.
49:35 Put your life in the hand of the Lord. What do you say?
49:37 Amen! And the last one:
49:39 Don't abandon spiritual correct- ness for political correctness.
49:42 Don't abandon Christ-centered gospel
49:44 for social-centered gospel.
49:47 Don't abandon godly living for good feeling.
49:51 All that is the Hegelian concept.
49:53 Let's do good things.
49:54 Let's become politically correct.
49:56 Let's support this agenda and that agenda.
49:59 And then whenever they pick two men to go head to head
50:02 in the political circles we all start fighting with each other.
50:06 We ought to all hold on to Jesus and forget
50:08 all the temporary leaders. Amen somebody?
50:10 Look unto Jesus: the Author and Finisher of our faith.
50:15 And then the fifth one.
50:16 I praise the Lord I'm able to get to this.
50:18 I had to edit my sermon down because I was held by the
50:21 constraints of the clock.
50:22 But the Lord says in the last days there will be a form of
50:24 godliness. But here is the fifth one: it's amazing.
50:32 Ooh, this is deep. Let me read it.
50:35 Here's what he says: "We are much more likely these days
50:39 not to refer to our Bible for our convictions and our world
50:43 view but instead to follow the opinions of leaders
50:48 we look up to. In these days of Christian mass media
50:54 celebrity ministers are likely to draw our attention
50:58 and our allegiance. "
51:00 Celebrity ministers.
51:03 "It is a dangerous thing to set up gurus within the body
51:08 of Christ who are beyond criticism. "
51:11 Isn't that powerful?
51:13 I don't want to mention the names, but you all see them.
51:16 'Cause I'm always fearful of allowing
51:21 these leaders and preachers and teachers of different
51:25 conflicting views to be standing where God's people should stand
51:29 and preach where God's people should be preaching.
51:31 Somebody say "Amen" to that. Amen!
51:33 And you say: "Well you know, remember what happened
51:35 in the Bible: the man of God, the prophet of God? "
51:38 Remember the story? The Bible just uses called the man of God,
51:42 the prophet of God. God told him: "Now when you go
51:45 don't stop and talk to anybody.
51:47 Don't eat with them. Don't go to their house. "
51:51 And he went and did God's bidding. Was on his way home
51:53 and he met somebody who said what?
51:56 "I'm a prophet also and God told me to have you
52:00 come over and have dinner with us. "
52:02 That very same phrase.
52:04 We are admiring prophets in this realm of criticism
52:08 and that realm of theology and people with doctorate degrees
52:12 get together and just massage each other.
52:14 And they worship the degree
52:17 rather than exalt the Word of God.
52:19 Come on somebody. I'm telling it like it is. Amen!
52:21 I don't care what your degree is. You could have a doctorate
52:23 degree in a lie. You could have a doctorate degree in deception.
52:28 I go not by the degree
52:31 but by a "thus saith the Lord. " Amen!
52:34 That's what my safety is.
52:35 And so I get together... Sometimes I get sick.
52:37 Sometimes I get in some of these circles where everybody but me
52:39 has a doctorate degree and I'm thinking:
52:41 I said... "Somebody give me a doctor!
52:44 I'm getting sick. "
52:47 Now there's nothing wrong with those degrees.
52:49 That's not what I'm saying.
52:51 But when we are more concerned of the label a man has
52:53 rather than what God's Word says
52:55 the danger seeks to find a way in. Amen.
53:00 "And I got my degree from this university and that... "
53:02 I don't have a doctorate I have a B.A.: born again.
53:04 Is that OK? Amen!
53:07 Don't settle for publication without inspiration.
53:11 If you are admiring any popular religious leader,
53:14 politician, or talk show celebrity
53:17 that leads you away from following Christ and His Word,
53:21 you are covered with false armor.
53:24 We have a "more sure word of prophecy
53:28 that we do well to take heed as a light that shineth
53:31 in darkness. " We've got the light.
53:35 Let me say it another way: the light has us.
53:37 We don't have the light, the light has us. Amen?
53:39 Amen! We don't have the Bible, the Bible has us.
53:43 And that's the day and age
53:44 truly the Word of God will continue to be our guide.
53:48 And the reason why this is so important to me:
53:49 it's not possible to prepare for the final battle
53:52 when your leader is orchestrating your destruction.
54:00 That's deep.
54:03 That made me even think about it.
54:05 Watch out who you read. We like to quote folk.
54:07 Quote the Bible. Amen!
54:10 You know Jesus didn't say: "Well you know Elder So-and-So
54:12 said. " Jesus said: "It is... " What? "It is written! "
54:16 The devil will mess with you like he did that person who
54:18 wanted to use the Holy Spirit in the New Testament.
54:20 He said: "Now Paul I know and Jesus I know
54:24 but who are you? "
54:27 He only shakes... he only shivers at the commandment
54:33 of God's Word: a "thus saith the Lord. "
54:38 Can't get that statistic out of my head.
54:40 Eighty percent of the fatalities that occurred in the war
54:43 could have been avoided if the troops had better armor.
54:47 And I suggest today, Christians,
54:49 it's time for us to get better armor.
54:51 My conclusion is this, my last sight is this:
55:04 The battle is coming to us
55:07 that already came to Jesus
55:09 and the best armor is the armor that He used:
55:14 a "thus saith the Lord. "
55:17 "It is written. " So here's my counsel:
55:20 Don't just sing it, live it. Amen? Amen.
55:23 Don't just talk it, walk it.
55:26 Don't just wait for the coming of Jesus,
55:28 WORK for His coming.
55:31 Don't just be a Seventh-day Adventist,
55:33 be an Adventist every day. Amen somebody?
55:36 Don't settle for being in the congregation,
55:39 but be in Christ.
55:42 And that will all happen
55:44 when we have on the whole armor of God.
55:47 Isn't that right? Amen!
55:49 I want to pray today.
55:51 I tried to end a little earlier today so I can pray.
55:53 I'm going to pray today that in this world of
55:55 so many authors coming at us
55:57 from so many different directions
55:59 that we not forget this one statement that Jesus made.
56:03 "Looking unto Me...
56:05 the Author and the Finisher of our faith. "
56:11 Father in heaven, we are in a world that
56:14 is swirling with doctrinal controversy
56:17 and so much armor that is being put on in Christian churches
56:20 and Christian movements is false armor.
56:24 The devil, the wily foe, is rubbing his hands as he
56:27 anticipates the loss of so many who are unaware
56:31 of his deceptions.
56:33 And so, heavenly Father, we pray for our church,
56:35 our leaders, our people. We pray for them, Lord, to
56:37 come to a knowledge and understanding of the truth
56:39 of Your Word that they not be pulled in...
56:42 that we not be preachers that settle for popularity
56:45 but we settle for nothing short of faithfulness.
56:49 We come not from the quotations of men that are frail and
56:53 fragile. We come from the understanding of the Word of God
56:56 that is the same as Jesus is: the foundation that never fails.
57:01 So heavenly Father, give us wisdom and understanding
57:04 to trust the Lord, to dedicate our lives to Him.
57:07 To stand firmly on the foundation that You have built
57:10 and to live by nothing other than a plain
57:13 "thus saith the Lord. "
57:15 This is our prayer and this is our desire.
57:18 In Jesus' name we pray. And all of God's people said:
57:20 "Amen. " Amen. My brother and my sisters,
57:23 may God bless you. May God guide you.
57:26 May God keep you safe as you trust in His armor.
