00:48 We've been having such a wonderful time here 00:51 praising the Lord, haven't we? Amen! 00:54 Have you been blessed? Amen! 00:56 Well the blessings are going to keep on coming 00:59 because today we have a special treat for you. 01:02 I'm here with Claire Luz Day, and she's our director 01:06 of our children's programs here at 3ABN Camp Meeting. 01:10 And the children here in all the departments have 01:12 prepared some special songs for us, haven't they? 01:15 Absolutely. So right now I want to 01:17 introduce Claire Luz Day. 01:20 Happy Sabbath and I just want you to know 01:23 it's been a joy to be here with the children this year. 01:26 We have had such a great teaching team. 01:29 Carla Mundall has been with the Cradle Roll 01:32 teaching Jesus through nature. 01:34 And then in Primary we've had Miss Laura Blanco 01:37 who has been sharing how to choose wisely. 01:40 In the Junior Department Connie Corrigan and Bill 01:43 have been teaching about the sanctuary model and how it shows 01:46 the love of Jesus. And then in our Earliteen/Youth 01:51 Daniel Arroyo and Julie Papuka 01:54 have been teaching the Steps to Christ model 01:57 for how to get closer to Jesus. 01:59 We've had two guest speakers this year 02:02 which are very exciting: our great friend Uncle Dan 02:05 has been telling us stories about forgiveness. 02:08 And we've also had Ryan St. Hilaire from Unseen 02:11 Ministries to teach our young people how to make good choices 02:15 in entertainment venues as well as music. 02:19 Doesn't that sound like a good program? 02:21 So now we would like to sing three short pieces 02:26 for you. One which all of us should take 02:29 to heart: I Corinthians 10:31. 02:31 How to make wise choices, and you'll hear what that's about. 02:34 And then how every day we need to talk to Jesus 02:38 and He'll help us make wise choices. 02:40 And we will end with Seek Ye First The Kingdom of God 02:45 with another piece. And both of them will be 02:48 sung at the same time to close. 02:50 Because if we just seek Jesus first, He's going to sing 02:55 and He's going to be in our hearts and shine through us. 03:16 "Whatsoever ye eat or drink, 03:20 or whatsoever ye do 03:23 do all to the glory of God. Amen! 06:31 Well I have another blessing for you that's in store, 06:34 and that's a song called Love Rules! from 06:37 Danny Shelton's Love Rules! project. 06:39 How many here have heard that DVD or CD? 06:43 It's amazing. For those of you who have not yet seen that... 06:47 that DVD, you need to get it. You need to watch it. 06:50 It's such a blessing. 06:51 I had the privilege of co-producing this project 06:55 with Danny, and Danny wrote every single one of these songs. 06:59 They're all based on our Bible truth 07:01 and there's so many wonderful, wonderful songs. 07:04 I love this whole album. I've about got it memorized. 07:07 I listen to it all the time. 07:09 It doesn't matter where I go in the world 07:11 it has been such a blessing. 07:13 And it teaches our Bible truth to our children. 07:17 And they put it in such a simple form that anybody 07:19 could understand. There's even a song on the Trinity 07:22 on that album, and there's many adults that don't understand 07:25 the Trinity. There's songs on the Sabbath. 07:27 There's songs on witnessing. 07:30 Ten Commandments. I had a little 4-year-old 07:33 come up to me and recite the Ten Commandments 07:36 because she learned it from that Love Rules! project. 07:39 A little girl in Australia. Is that not amazing? 07:42 Little 4-year-old knows every one of their Ten Commandments. 07:44 How many here know the Ten Commandments 07:46 by heart? If I had to have you word for word 07:48 could you say it? So many adults... they might 07:51 know the basics of what each one is 07:53 but to say it word for word they might not get it. 07:56 But if you start listening to this CD in your car 07:59 you'll start putting those Bible truths into your heart too 08:02 and start remembering your Ten Commandments again. 08:04 But today we're going to play the title song. 08:07 It's called Love Rules! 08:09 and really it's all about "God is love. " 08:11 And when you think about it, in the end we know 08:14 the end of the story here. Amen! 11:38 Amen and amen! 11:41 Isn't it wonderful that love rules? 11:44 How many here appreciate our children's programming 11:47 on Three Angels Broadcasting Network? Amen? 11:50 You know, I have a lot of love and appreciation 11:55 for 3ABN to tackle children's programming because 11:58 it's one of the most difficult things to do 12:01 if you could imagine just production. 12:03 It's not so hard to have a preacher up in front 12:06 and film that. Or even to have some people sitting down 12:09 you know and they're having a nice conversation 12:11 and you can film that. 12:13 But it's a whole different ball game when you're taping kids 12:16 and animals... and we do both. 12:19 And so when you've got kids... I really want to say 12:23 a special thank you to my sisters Linda and Cinda, 12:26 who host and produce Tiny Tots for Jesus 12:29 because I say to them all the time 12:32 "I praise God that God didn't call me to do that program" 12:35 because they really have the challenges. 12:38 I think they have the most difficult task here at 3ABN. 12:41 I really do. If you've ever been to a Tiny Tot taping, 12:44 and they've got these little ones on the set 12:47 and they've got the battery pack for their microphones 12:50 in their diapers. And of course if that diaper gets filled 12:52 a little bit it gets heavy and that just slides right off! 12:57 And I see them have to "Cut! We have to stop. " 13:00 Or you know those little ones have a mind of their own 13:03 and so you'll be taping and all of a sudden 13:04 they'll just wander off. 13:07 And it's the cutest little thing, but you know 13:09 I look at my sisters and I can't tell you 13:12 all the things that my sister Auntie Linda has been sitting 13:16 with a child in her lap and had many surprises 13:19 throughout the taping. 13:21 She's had a lot of stuff wiped on her in the taping. 13:24 And she's had so many blessings. 13:26 One particular one is that... 13:29 that I love the story of when she said they were reading 13:32 a Bible story and the little girl 13:35 they were all talking all about heaven. 13:37 And the little girl, you know, jerked on my sister's arm 13:40 and she goes: "Auntie Linda... " 13:42 And my sister looked down at her and said "Yes 13:44 sweetie? " She said: "I ain't goin' to heaven. " 13:49 And my sister's like: "Well why not? " 13:52 "Cause I's scared of heights. " 14:00 They're so precious... they're absolutely so precious. 14:04 I love 'em and I can tell you the hours and hours 14:08 that it takes to tape those programs with these adorable 14:11 little kids, and I've had such a... It's been a privilege 14:15 and a blessing to tape Kids' Time here on 3ABN. 14:20 I've been a full-time volunteer here for now 14 years. 14:23 Kids' Time's been on the air every day for 13 years. 14:26 Can you imagine? 14:27 It doesn't seem possible. 14:29 And every year it seems like it just gets 14:35 better and better in terms of God keeps raisin' the bar. 14:39 And He keeps growing us and growing us. 14:42 Every year I think: "How can we possibly 14:45 grow any more? " And God keeps growing us. 14:47 And that's really a God thing. 14:50 When you're really holding Jesus' hand in ministry 14:52 He's going to take you all the way. 14:54 He's going to take you every- where you're supposed to go. 14:56 And I've met the most incredible, wonderful, precious 14:59 children and their families. 15:01 And it's been a real, real blessing. 15:03 And before I get into what I want to talk with you next about 15:08 'cause I have an exciting announcement 15:10 and things to share with you, 15:11 I was teasing you a little bit beforehand about the Love Rules! 15:14 project and how awesome it is and about the Ten Commandment 15:18 song. And I've had some of you say: "I don't think it's fair. 15:21 You should let us hear the Ten Commandment song too. " 15:24 And so I agree with you because it's such a wonderful 15:27 wonderful song. So right now I want to 15:31 have you listen to The Ten Commandments 15:34 written by Danny Shelton from the Love Rules! project. 15:48 Love God and keep His commandments: 15:52 this is the duty of man. 15:56 Fear God and keep His commandments: 16:01 they are His gift to man. 16:05 Love the Lord with all you heart and 16:10 love your neighbor as yourself. 16:14 Blessed are they that do His commandments: 16:18 these are the children of God. 16:29 The laws of God are His promises 16:34 to guide and protect us from sin. 16:38 The law of God is everlasting 16:43 with no beginning or end. 16:47 Love the Lord with all your heart and 16:52 love your neighbor as yourself. 16:56 Blessed are they that do His commandments: 17:00 these are the children of God. 17:06 Exodus 20 verses 1 through 17... 17:09 Commandment one: 17:21 Commandment two: 17:48 Commandment three: 17:57 Commandment four: 18:30 Commandment five: 18:40 Commandment six: 18:43 Commandment seven: 18:47 Commandment eight: 18:50 Commandment nine: 18:55 Commandment ten: 19:02 Love the Lord with all your heart and 19:07 love your neighbor as yourself. 19:11 Blessed are they that do His commandments: 19:15 these are the children of God. 19:19 These are the children of God. 19:24 These are the children 19:28 of God. 19:41 I have to share this with you, Pastor Gilley, 19:44 and our audience. We had 8 kids come from Trinidad 19:48 and Tobago this year. Yes. 19:49 I was speaking at a children's retreat there 19:52 and right before the retreat... 19:53 And God worked an incredible miracle. 19:55 We were missing 8 children... 19:58 I had eight slots open for Praise Time. 20:00 We were taping in just 2 months and kids need time to practice, 20:04 so we knew it was down to the deadline. 20:06 Usually by two months they want to know farther ahead 20:08 in advance so they can memorize all their songs. 20:11 I am praying and I'm praying and I'm praying and I'm saying: 20:13 "Lord, who do You want on this program? " 20:15 I have to pray about everything. I don't know it; God knows. 20:17 It's His program, and yet I was sharing with the Lord 20:20 just before we went on this trip 20:22 "God, You know You're really pushing it. 20:24 You know these kids have got to learn these songs 20:27 and so when are You going to show me who I'm supposed to 20:30 invite for this program? " And I do get a lot of DVDs... 20:34 I get quite a few DVDS in the mail or YouTube 20:37 that people want me to listen to. 20:39 And I've got to be honest with you: 20:41 most of them really only a grandmother's going to 20:44 appreciate. Right. And so I have to really 20:47 pray and pray and pray on who God wants to be on this program. 20:50 And I have to keep the standard very high, 20:52 because if I didn't... Two reasons: 20:55 Number one: if I didn't keep the standards high, 20:58 the kids at home that I'm trying to reach 20:59 and bring them closer to Jesus 21:01 they're just going to look at it and go laugh: "Ha, ha, ha, 21:03 look at so and so. I could do better than that. " 21:05 They're not going to have that respect 21:07 and they're not going to listen to the message. 21:09 Also number two: if I wasn't careful about it, everybody'd be 21:13 flipping the channels and nobody'd be watching. 21:15 So God really has a high standard He wants us to meet. 21:18 Well Pastor Gilley, when I got over there for that retreat 21:22 my assistant Melissa Hoffman and I both had special prayer 21:25 on the plane even that somewhere we were hoping 21:28 for one or two musical numbers that maybe someday we could 21:31 invite to be on the program. 21:33 They had a musical over there 21:35 for the afternoon, and it was a two-hour long musical. 21:39 And I mean to tell you we filled all eight slots 21:44 for our Praise Time at one place. Amen? Wow! 21:47 It blew me away. I sat there with just goose bumps 21:50 and just praising God. I said: "Lord, You are so good. 21:52 I asked You for two. You gave me the whole plate. " 21:55 Amen. And God is good. So they came over 21:58 and they paid their own way to come here. Amen? Wow! 22:01 And sometimes churches raise the money. 22:03 If you have some really incredible talent in your 22:06 churches - and I'm not just speaking to our 3ABN audience 22:08 that's physically here. Also our audience that is 22:11 that's watching right now 22:14 if you have children in your church that are so musically 22:17 talented you know they need to be on Praise Time 22:19 why not sponsor them to come? 22:21 Get in touch with me. You can go to my website. 22:23 www. brendawalsh. com 22:25 click on contact - my contact information is there - 22:28 and let me know about those kids, will you? 22:31 You know, kids are so important, folks. 22:34 I mean, so many times we get the idea that we will use 22:38 television and the ministry to reach adults only 22:42 and that's kind of in our thinking. 22:44 Listen: the three angels' messages needs to go 22:48 to children. It's just as important or more important 22:52 than it is to go to adults. 22:54 You see, if we can reach them with Jesus 22:57 while they're in those form... those years where they're 22:59 forming their whole future... If we can reach them with Jesus 23:04 then, you don't have to do so much later on 23:07 to try to get them - Amen - back to the Lord, see? 23:11 So this is so important. 23:13 And this is why that we began to talk to Brenda 23:16 about a kids' network. 23:19 Because we feel that 24/7 we've got to be reaching out 23:24 to young people - Amen - and to kids and use every 23:28 means. Television is our main means 23:32 but there are other means. The Internet. 23:35 And some of the new things that we're dealing with 23:39 in the Internet that we are also - right - wanting to be 23:43 a part of the Kids' Time ministry. 23:44 Well the devil is trying to steal our children. 23:46 Let's just face it. He is. And he's using every 23:49 means out there possible. And Pastor Gilley, like you said 23:51 it's the Internet, it's the video games, 23:54 it's the television... It's all these things 23:56 that the devil is using to take the minds of our children 23:59 away from God. Yes. And we need to do more 24:02 to counteract that. We need to do more for our children. 24:05 We need to spiritually feed them. 24:07 And so Pastor Gilley, maybe you could share with 24:11 with our viewers your commitment here as president 24:15 of 3ABN and your leadership team 24:18 about children's ministries. You know, in 2008 24:22 we... the whole world... hit an economic crisis. 24:26 And here at 3ABN it was so tempting... In fact, 24:31 so many letters came from people and from business people 24:35 that would seek us out individually 24:37 and say: "You must cut back. " 24:39 "You must reduce your staff. " 24:42 "You must cut your expenses. " 24:44 We did. We cut every expense 24:48 that we possibly could cut without cutting staff. 24:52 Because we need every single person we have 24:56 to produce the programs that we produce. 24:59 We prayed about it 25:01 and the answer kept coming back: "You are not in a ministry 25:07 that can cut back. You must expand. 25:11 You must go forward 25:13 as it's too late in world's history to be downsizing. " 25:17 And so we said: "Lord, the economy is 25:21 the way it is and all the great minds are telling us 25:24 to downsize. " And the Lord says: 25:26 "I'm telling you not to downsize. " 25:29 Amen. "I'm telling you to move forward. " 25:31 So we began to move forward... a little cautiously at first 25:34 because, folks, it was scary when you saw the economic 25:38 situation the way it was. 25:40 But we said "We are not going to quit. " 25:43 First of all, not one person was laid off 25:46 for financial reasons. Amen. And that was extremely important. 25:51 There were a couple of people as David Asscherick was talking 25:55 about through their own choice made choices 25:58 that said they had to go. 26:00 But that was not involving our financial. 26:05 We had to hire somebody to take those individual's 26:09 places. But I will tell you this: 26:12 that we have moved forward by faith 26:16 and God has been with us every step of the way. 26:21 Amen. We're not spending one dime 26:23 that we don't have to spend. We cut our travel expense 26:28 extremely. We do a lot of our LIVES here now 26:32 rather than doing them out on the road. 26:34 We still go on the road 26:36 but one year just before I came here 26:39 260 days out of the year our team was on the road. 26:44 And when you consider the cost of that 26:47 we cut 200 days out of that. 26:52 The next year we were only out 60 days, 26:55 and that cut over a million dollars out of our expenses 26:59 that we could put back into broadcasting. 27:01 So you see, we were there. 27:03 So now we begin to move forward. 27:05 And some of the things that happened - we'll hear about more 27:08 later - but the main one has been making a decision 27:13 about the children's program. The Kids' Network. 27:15 And we said: "Do we want to do that here? " 27:18 And as we looked at it, we need more production space 27:21 here and we don't have... We have to bring so many 27:23 young people in here. We began to pray, and the Lord 27:27 led us to Collegedale... to that area. 27:30 And we are still looking for a piece of property 27:33 but we know God has a specific piece of property 27:36 for us there just like He had property for us here. 27:40 And in case anybody missed it 3ABN is launching 27:43 a brand new network just for kids. Amen. 27:47 24/7 programming. 27:49 And Pastor Gilley, something that you might not have known 27:52 but when 3ABN asked me to be the general manager 27:56 of this network it wasn't something I considered lightly. 28:00 I mean I really prayed about it. 28:01 And I had to go to my husband and I had to ask him to pray 28:05 about it. 'Cause I said: "Honey, this is going to even take 28:07 more of my time. " And when I said "yes" 28:10 and my husband said "yes" 28:12 we did so believing that it was going to be right here. 28:15 Now some of you don't know but being a full-time volunteer 28:19 means I tape Kids' Time about 7 months out of the year. 28:22 That means seven months out of the year I am here taping 28:25 programs during the week away from my family. 28:28 And so that has been a tremendous sacrifice. 28:31 And so I had said "yes" that I would accept this position. 28:36 I was getting ready to go over to Australia to speak - 28:38 I think I spoke 22 times in 17 days - 28:41 and while I was over there on the plane I got my computer out 28:47 and I wrote down all the reasons that I thought that Kids' Time 28:52 should be taped in Collegedale and not here at 3ABN. 28:56 And I had listed... because there's no children here. 28:59 You know, it's all I can do to get enough kids to come 29:02 here to be a part of Kids' Time 29:04 and my sisters for Tiny Tots. 29:06 But to do 24/7 programming for kids? Where were we 29:09 going to get those kids? So I am listing all the reasons 29:12 that... I've got this already addressed to you 29:14 and to Adcom of all the reasons it should be in Collegedale. 29:17 And I had some really good reasons. 29:19 I was thinking about the college and all the students there 29:22 that could come and intern at our new studios. 29:26 All the volunteers that could come. We have lots of energetic 29:29 senior citizens in the area that could come and help. 29:31 Not to mention there's over 5,000 children - 29:35 Adventist children - in the Collegedale area alone 29:38 not to mention all the non- Adventist children in the area. 29:41 So I had all this listed. Now this is the first time 29:44 I'm telling him this. He has no idea. 29:46 Don't you love this? 29:48 I do, yes. On live TV I'm going to make a confession. 29:52 We don't have a teleprompter - you may notice that - 29:55 but go ahead. And so I'm getting ready to land in Sydney 30:00 in the airport, and before they tell us to turn our computers 30:04 off - of course we don't have Internet on that stretch - 30:09 but I'm thinking: "OK, I'm going to 30:11 as soon as I land I get airport intercom 30:15 I'm going to send that to you. " 30:16 I had a little time in that airport to change planes. 30:19 But when I landed in Sydney 30:22 and I pulled up, I got the Internet 30:24 and I went to push that send button and God told me not to 30:27 send it. Hmmm. And I argued with Him! 30:30 I thought: "But Lord, I spent all this time. I've got it all 30:33 thought out. " I said: I've really... I've categorized 30:35 it all. I have all my details of why for each thing. " 30:38 And God told me not to send it. 30:40 And so I put it in my draft. OK. 30:43 And I put it in my draft and said: "OK, Lord, I'll just 30:46 pray about it. Surely You don't mean not ever. " 30:48 And when I got home 30:51 I prayed about it again that morning in my worship 30:54 and God said: "No Brenda, I'm in charge of this network. 30:56 Don't sent it. " Did you know that afternoon 31:00 is when Pastor Gilley called me and told me 31:05 that you had decided to build that network in Collegedale, 31:08 Tennessee. I tell you, praise the Lord! 31:11 Isn't that a big praise the Lord? 31:14 That's right. It really is. 31:15 And when I told my husband that for the first time in 14 years 31:20 I was going to be able to... 'Cause my husband is president 31:22 of a company in Chattanooga, Tennessee. 31:24 And for the first time ever I was going to be able to go 31:27 to work each day and come home at night. 31:29 Amen? I'll tell you, we're excited about it. We really are. 31:33 And we're praying that the people in the Collegedale area 31:38 will get excited about it too. 31:39 Some of them area, and we're praying that more of them will 31:43 and that this will become a reality 31:46 because this has such great potential. 31:49 And there's so many aspects of this that we're just not 31:53 yet ready to go public with. 31:56 But I will tell you that God is doing some unbelievable things. 32:01 And we believe His work is going to be finished. 32:04 It's going to be finished with kids. 32:06 It's going to be finished with minorities. 32:08 It's going to be finished with people that speak languages 32:11 other than we speak and it's going to be finished 32:15 with those who do speak - that's right - and understand English. 32:18 So we're just excited about what God's doing. 32:21 You know, Pastor Gilley, when we sat down and did a live 32:24 program with Danny and kicked it off on a Thursday 32:26 night Live! program we were asking for name suggestions 32:30 of what we should call this network. 32:32 And so we got lots of responses. 32:35 Some of them were very good ones; other ones were really 32:38 kind of out there and everything in between. 32:40 It took a lot of prayer and consideration 32:44 and we decided to keep it very simple. 32:46 And we are calling it 3ABN Kids' Network. 32:50 And that way any time we're referring to it 32:53 it's our Kids' Network. And I'd like to show you 32:55 the logo that... out there right now. 32:58 That's our brand new 3ABN Kids' Network logo. 33:01 And... thank you. That's good. 33:05 You can go ahead. That's a praise the Lord. 33:06 That's a prayed for logo. 33:08 And it actually took... A whole lot of people were 33:11 involved in getting that particular logo just the way 33:13 God wanted it. And if you like it, that means 33:15 you're a kid. Because it's not meant for me... 33:19 it's meant for kids. It's meant for kids. 33:21 That's right. And we thought it would just keep it very 33:24 simple for kids and it would appeal to churches of all 33:28 denominations. And we are going to provide 33:32 wonderful Christ-centered programming. 33:34 And I wanted to share with you some of the types of programs 33:37 that we're going to actually be putting on the air. 33:41 Because it's going to take a lot of programming. 33:43 Not just Kids' Time and Tiny Tots. 33:45 But I would like to show you... I've put together some slides 33:47 for you... some of the ideas that we have. 33:50 And I'm looking forward to receiving some of your ideas 33:53 for the program. Some of the things that you would like 33:55 to see on the network. But go ahead and put those 33:58 slides up there for me if you would right now. 34:00 And... well this just gives you an idea 34:03 of what it would look like. I think the slide before this 34:06 showed a building, but this is like if we have 34:08 a remote truck. There's our proposed building 34:12 just to give you an idea what that logo would look like 34:14 on a building. And then the truck is... 34:16 We are going to have a remote truck where we can go out and do 34:18 live programming. If our network was just all canned 34:21 programming it could be very boring. 34:23 But we're going to have live events. 34:24 Whenever there's a big huge children's convention 34:26 we'll be there. When a great big church 34:28 is having a wonderful children's program we'll be there. 34:31 And so I'd like to have lots and lots of live programs 34:34 and maybe our summer youth camps have wonderful programs 34:37 we could have live productions from. 34:40 Also after that you can just keep those slides up 34:43 if you would. That shows you what we call "the button... " 34:46 our web address. It will be www. 3abnkids. tv 34:50 And some of the programs also - next slide - will show... 34:54 We're going to have some where we're going to have church. 34:57 Every Sabbath morning there'll be children's church. 35:00 There'll be a Sabbath School for every single division. 35:02 You'll have Cradle Roll, Kindergarten, 35:04 Primary, Juniors, Earliteens. 35:07 And the target age for this network is 14 and under. 35:10 We're not appealing to the teenagers in this network 35:13 because, let's face it, most teens are not going to want 35:16 to watch at network called Kids. 35:19 So we're focusing on the kids. 35:21 Here we're going to have lots of praise music. 35:24 Oh so many kids will now have an opportunity 35:26 to come out. More than ever we'll have more praise music. 35:30 And then we'll have mission projects. I'm teaming up with 35:34 Maranatha, and we're going to be going out and showing kids 35:37 helping other kids doing mission work for Jesus. 35:40 There's also other mission projects. 35:42 Science projects. I've asked Ben Roy. 35:45 He'll still do our science projects for Kids' Time 35:47 but he'll have his own half-hour show. 35:49 And there's other people that have contacted me 35:51 where we'll do some science shows. 35:54 Some of the other ones is health and nutrition. 35:57 Very important for kids. Obesity is a really huge problem 36:02 not just in the United States but in some of the other 36:04 countries around the world too. 36:06 We need to get our kids healthier. 36:09 And we have nature programs that we'll be putting out. 36:13 All different kinds. Not just the ones for Kids' Time 36:15 but lots of nature programs. 36:17 And then you'll also have cooking programs. 36:20 Here's my sisters on Tiny Tots 36:21 but we'll have lots of cooking programs. 36:24 I have a little girl already ready to start a cooking show 36:27 over in Australia. She's amazing. 36:29 Her name is Ellie, and I tell you what: she is 36:32 Miss Personality and a wonderful cook. 36:34 And you're going to love her. 36:36 So God is really guiding and directing. 36:39 Exercise programs... we can get our kids moving 36:42 in exercise... away from their little computer games 36:46 and their video games and out there really exercising. 36:49 And also we want to have family worship. 36:52 There's so many families that don't have a clue 36:54 about family worship or what that is. 36:57 And we'd like to have a program where they can have family 36:59 worship with us every day. 37:01 Doesn't that sound like a good idea? 37:03 How about Bible games? 37:04 You know, maybe a Bible trivia game. 37:07 Different Bible games where kids can start learning 37:09 their Bible facts. 37:10 Get them excited about reading their Bible, 37:12 learning more about Jesus. 37:14 There are just many many opportunities. 37:17 Right now on the screen is a way for you to go online 37:19 on 3ABN's website to donate to our Kids' Network. 37:23 And just www. 3ABN.org 37:25 There's a donate button and you go down to where that 37:29 says Kids' Network and you can donate to this... 37:31 to this network. Honest and truly, 37:34 Pastor Jim, I believe wholeheartedly that we're not 37:38 doing enough to spiritually feed our children. 37:42 And this is an opportunity to really help our kids 37:46 grow spiritually around the world. 37:48 Every country I have been to around the world 37:50 has been so excited about this network. 37:52 But this is where we need your help. 37:54 I kind of liked Danny's illustration this morning. 37:57 There's no problem. That we have all the money we need 38:00 but it's still in your pocket. Yes. And that's a challenge. 38:03 And if you have money that you've been saving up for a 38:07 rainy day, if you've got money that God's impressing you 38:10 to give... I honestly don't want money that you don't feel 38:14 impressed to give. I really would ask you 38:16 that every one of us pray about: "Lord, what would You 38:19 have me to do? " And I also want to appeal to 38:22 especially right now just for a second 38:24 to the people in the Collegedale area. 38:27 If you have a piece of property that is just sitting there, 38:30 you haven't done anything with it for years, 38:32 don't even know what you're going to do with it... 38:33 If God's impressing you, would you contact me 38:36 as soon as possible. We're looking for land 38:39 right now in the Collegedale area. We want to be near 38:42 that area because then we can utilize the kids 38:45 from the schools. We can use the students from the college. 38:48 If it's very far away from that then none of that would be 38:50 possible. And it's God's network. 39:42 And He knows where it is, what the timing is. 39:45 I'm trusting in God's perfect plan. 39:47 He really has a perfect plan for this network. 39:49 He really does. And you know, Danny and I were talking 39:52 not long ago about the beginning of 3ABN. 39:56 He had nothing. 39:58 He didn't even have any land. 40:00 He was given the first land that we built the first uplink 40:05 over at the "home place" as I call it. 40:09 And they started with absolutely nothing. 40:13 We're going to in a sense repeat that 40:16 because Danny didn't envision all of this. 40:19 He didn't see all of this when he first got started. 40:21 He started off a little bit at a time. 40:25 We don't want to curse the darkness... 40:27 we want to light a candle and get it moving 40:30 and then we are going to see this network grow 40:34 and really be a powerful agent for God. 40:38 We already... I know that Moses this week was 40:41 visiting one of the major cable outlets 40:43 and they are looking for good programming. 40:47 And they are looking for good children's programming as well. 40:51 And I feel that we're going to have a great opportunity 40:54 to get a kids' network on 40:58 some of the great cable outlets 41:03 here in this country. I believe that too. 41:06 And in fact there's, even while we're waiting, even though 41:09 we don't have studios right now to start producing 41:11 all the new programs we're continuing taping our 41:15 Kids' Time and Tiny Tot programs. Kids' Time will be 41:17 the flagship program on the network just like the 3ABN Today 41:21 program is. Kids' Time will be on 4 times a day 41:26 just like that so we'll be still taping lots of Kids' Time 41:30 programs, but we need studios that we can tape all the other 41:32 programs so that we can just flood the network with quality 41:37 quality programs. In fact, even before our studios are ready 41:41 I'm out looking for other production companies 41:44 that can produce programs right now so that we can already 41:47 get ahead of the game. And I've already got about 12 41:49 people interested in producing programs. In fact, 41:52 this week I had a meeting with Dr. James Marcum. 41:55 And I would love for him to do a program for health 42:00 for parents and children. 42:01 He has agreed to it. He said if I can find a sponsor 42:04 he'll start taping right away. 42:06 So I want to hear from you because if we can have a sponsor 42:09 that's something we can do right now 42:11 and they could start producing those programs. 42:13 I think it's a tremendous... And he's not asking 42:15 to get paid for it. That's just to cover the cost of producing 42:19 it. And so I think that would be a tremendous blessing. 42:22 Another idea that I had was to have some programs on there 42:27 to teach music lessons. It actually wasn't even my 42:30 original idea. Our director, Brad Walker, 42:32 had mentioned that to me and I prayed about it. 42:34 I said: "Wow, Lord, that's an awesome idea! " 42:36 We could have piano lessons every Monday night. 42:39 All the music being taught is music about Jesus. 42:43 And there's so many kids that don't have the money for music 42:46 lessons. They'd never be able to learn the piano. 42:48 They'd never be able to learn how to play the violin 42:50 or the guitar, you know. And this way, they could have 42:53 their music lessons, and all the music would be about Jesus. 42:56 Wouldn't that be wonderful? 42:58 And so there's so many other opportunities 43:00 to share Jesus in so many ways. 43:03 There's so many program ideas out there. 43:06 I've got a producer already in mind for a Bible trivia program 43:10 over in Australia. And she is so dedicated. 43:13 She and her sister... Marleta and Charissa Fong. 43:17 I would like them to produce a program... 43:20 Bible trivia program. And they've already got a nice 43:24 outline. In fact, I've got it all ready for your desk 43:26 on Monday morning - all right - and my proposal. 43:30 'Cause I really would like to see these programs 43:32 get on the air sooner than later. 43:35 So I'm going to do what I can to keep busy. 43:39 I know Pastor Gilley was sharing with you how to keep the costs 43:42 down, and I want to address this because I started 43:45 receiving several letters from people kind of mad at 3ABN. 43:49 And they were mad because they said that they didn't think 43:53 it was right the way you were treating me. 43:55 I said: "What do you mean? " 43:56 And they said well they didn't think it was right that I was 43:59 a volunteer all these years and that if I was going to be 44:02 general manager they sure hoped they were finally going to 44:04 pay me. So I wanted to set the record straight 44:06 that I did get offered a salary by the way 44:09 and I have turned it down. Wow! And the reason is 44:13 is because I believe it's what God has called me to do. 44:16 I have volunteered all this time, and before you get mad 44:19 at 3ABN, they have offered to pay me all these years. 44:23 They have... It's not them. 44:25 So you don't get mad at 3ABN. You can get mad at me 44:27 if you want, but it's something that God has impressed me to do. 44:31 One thing that I can tell you has really meant a lot 44:34 is that when I'm asking all these kids to come here 44:38 and volunteer their time, parents to volunteer their time, 44:41 take time off work, pay for the way to come, 44:43 I know a lot of people that want to get paid to do such a thing. 44:47 The minute that I tell them that I'm a full-time volunteer 44:51 that kind of like... they'll like: "Oh, well I guess if you 44:55 can volunteer 13 years I can do one day. " 44:57 And so you know that makes a big difference. 45:02 I'm not asking them to do anything I'm not willing to do 45:05 myself. And that's not God's calling for everyone. 45:07 God wants us to be working. He knows you need to pay your 45:10 bills. I'm not criticizing anything like that. 45:13 I'm just doing what I know God has asked me to do. 45:16 And that's something He's really impressed upon me 45:20 to keep doing. So my title might change 45:23 as general manager but my salary will remain the same. 45:28 Well we do appreciate that, 45:29 and I don't mind getting those letters 45:31 because sometimes we're able to write out an explanation. 45:35 And it's good to know what people are feeling 45:40 and for them to respond and let us know. 45:43 If you don't tell us we can't correct it 45:46 or we can't answer the reason why sometimes that we're doing 45:51 some of the things we do. So one of the things... 45:54 I'm so happy that Jill Morikone is helping me, working with me 45:57 now, is that we answer those letters. 46:00 And right now I've still got a real stack 46:04 I've never even shown Jill 46:07 from the past that I haven't answered yet. 46:10 You know, I know what you mean because God gave me an assistant 46:14 several years ago. Her name is Melissa Hoffman. 46:16 I don't know what I'd do without her. 46:18 She helps me answer a ton of mail. That makes a difference 46:20 to people when you answer the mail. 46:22 And when you get almost 10,000 letters a month 46:25 let's be honest... I wouldn't get anything else done 46:27 if I was answering all the mail. 46:29 And I really depend on that help. 46:31 There's a few times she'll say "You need to see this" 46:33 and I do, but it really makes a huge difference. 46:37 And I want to share with you as viewers that your giving 46:41 in support of 3ABN and children's ministries 46:45 all these years is so appre- ciated and it is not in vain. 46:49 There is not a day that goes by that I don't get at least one, 46:53 usually many letters, from kids telling me 46:56 that they're giving their heart to Jesus because of Kids' Time. 46:58 And I hear that all the time. 47:01 That they're getting baptized because of Kids' Time. 47:03 And not just our little kids... big kids too! 47:06 I have so many adults that tell me they take our Bible lessons 47:09 because they don't know anything about the Bible. Right. 47:12 And they want to learn what they should have learned 47:14 when they were little before they take the older 47:16 Bible lessons. And so that makes such a big difference. 47:19 You know, I want to tell you my mom is our Kids' Club 47:23 director. About 10 years ago God impressed me to start 47:26 a Bible study club for kids. 47:28 And I didn't have anyone to run it. 47:30 I knew God impressed me that that's what we should be doing. 47:33 And so I got everything all ready and I just... 47:37 I called everybody and I said: "Please, would you volunteer 47:40 some time to do this? " And you know, it's a big 47:43 commitment. And finally I called my mom and I said: 47:46 "Mom... " I said... "can you just help me out for... 47:49 Would you just help me out on Kids' Club? I can't manage 47:52 all this. I'm in the middle of taping but I know God wants 47:54 this Kids' Club lessons so we can offer Bible studies 47:57 for kids. " And so mom says: "Well about how long 48:00 do you think that'd be? " And I said: "Well, at least 48:03 maybe a couple of weeks. " 48:06 And that was 10 years ago - yeah - and she's still our 48:09 Kids' Club director. And she has I mean literally 48:13 every single day but Sabbath she is answering mail 48:15 all day long. Mail bags coming into our house. 48:18 I mean, can you imagine? We have today over 25,000 48:22 kids enrolled in Bible studies right now 48:25 from over 100 different countries around the world. 48:28 Wow! Amen? Amen. And we get the most amazing 48:31 letters. Yes, go ahead and praise the Lord. 48:33 Amen. 48:35 It really is amazing. 48:36 And I love to hear those life-changing stories. 48:40 I was just recently in Tasmania 48:43 and I was really excited when a little girl... I was signing 48:47 books. I was speaking over there and at the end I was 48:50 signing books in their lobby. And this little girl came up 48:53 to me and she said: "Miss Brenda I just love Kids' Time. " 48:57 She said: "I've learned so much about Jesus 48:59 through Kids' Time. " And she proceeded to tell me 49:02 how she had witnessed to her mom and her grandma. 49:06 And before she had said that 49:08 she made mention about how her grandma had passed away 49:11 one week before. And I got up and I gave her 49:14 a hug and I said: "Oh honey, I'm so sorry. " 49:16 She goes: "Oh Miss Brenda, don't be sorry. " 49:18 She said: "She died knowing Jesus. " 49:21 Amen. And then I learned the whole story. 49:24 She had witnessed not only to her mother 49:26 but to her grandmother and all three of them 49:29 were baptized together. Oh amen! Isn't that amazing? 49:33 Amen. Guess what else is amazing? 49:34 This is how God works and this is how I know 49:36 God is in charge of every single aspect. 49:39 I said: "You need to be on Kids' Time. 49:43 I'm taping Sharing Time in December. " I said: 49:46 "Is there any way that you could come and tell your story 49:49 and be on Sharing Time with me? " 49:51 Wouldn't you like to see her and meet her in person? 49:53 And so they said: "Oh, I would love to Miss Brenda. " 49:56 And she whispered to me: "But I don't have any money. " 50:00 And I said: "Well that's OK! " 50:02 And as shy as I am, Pastor Gilley... You know how shy I am, 50:06 I got up and I stood on the chair that I'd been sitting on 50:09 and I said: "Excuse me everybody. Could I have your 50:12 attention please? " And everyone got really quiet. 50:15 And I said: "I have a little girl here right now" 50:19 and I told the story. I said: 'How many here think 50:21 she needs to be on Sharing Time? " And they all 50:24 raised their hands. And I said: "Well we need to get together 50:27 so that we can provide airfare for her and her mama 50:30 to come. " And two men stepped forward and said: 50:32 "We'll take care of it right now. " 50:34 Amen? Praise the Lord! 50:38 Before my plane landed down... I was flying back into Melbourne 50:43 to speak for that weekend... Before I even landed 50:46 the e-mail had come through because when I got to Melbourne 50:49 airport and turned my phone on there was the message 50:52 and they had forwarded the ticket information. 50:54 They had already purchased the tickets. Amen. 50:56 You know, the amazing thing is that Kids' Time reaches kids 51:00 of all ages. And we sometimes as you mentioned 51:05 things may be a little bit high. H.M.S. Richards 51:08 used to say that he made his sermons for 8-year-olds 51:11 because, he said: "The Lord said 'Feed My sheep' 51:14 He didn't say 'Feed My giraffes. ' " 51:17 And so... There's so many stories like that 51:22 where I know that God has a purpose to save His children. 51:26 That's right. I shared this story with you not long ago 51:30 when I was speaking in Trinidad and I was greeting all the kids 51:35 after the program and there was a long line. 51:37 They were only letting about 30 kids on the stage at a time 51:40 and I could meet them, hug them, take their picture, 51:42 and then they'd go out this way and the next one, the next one. 51:45 And then about over here half way I looked up to see how long 51:49 the line was getting, if it was getting any shorter at all. 51:52 And I see this one young man... he's a teenager. 51:54 And he's just fidgeting and he's got his hand in and out of his 51:57 pocket and he's just stepping out of line every now and then 52:00 and he's straightening up his shirt and acting all nervous. 52:03 It was hot anyway... it was really hot 52:05 and he kept wiping his brow. 52:07 And he got closer and closer and I started praying for him. 52:09 I said: "There is something that this boy wants to tell me. " 52:12 And when he finally got up close to me 52:15 he just gave me a great big hug and he said: "Thank you, 52:17 Miss Brenda, for Kids' Time. " And he started to leave 52:19 and I said: "NO! Wait a minute. " 52:22 I said: "You have something to tell me. 52:24 What is it? " He goes: "Well everyone's waiting... 52:27 it's very busy. " And I said: "No, 52:29 this is your time. Tell me what you wanted to tell me. " 52:32 And he looked at me and with tears coming down his cheeks 52:36 he said: "Miss Brenda, I wanted to ask you to please never stop 52:40 taping Kids' Time. Don't give up on kids. " 52:43 He said: "You see, when I was a little boy 52:45 my mom and dad, " he said, "they used to have Kids' Time on 52:48 all the time. " He said: "I loved it. " He said: 52:51 "I couldn't wait for Kids' Time to come on. I learned so much 52:54 about Jesus. " And he said: "And when my mom and dad 52:58 passed away, " he said, "I was just shuffled from one home 53:01 to another. " And he said: "I never got to see Kids' Time 53:05 any more. Pretty soon I forgot all about Jesus. " 53:07 He said: "I got mixed up in a wrong crowd. " 53:09 He said: "I've done things I shouldn't have done. " 53:11 He said: "I've been in lots of trouble. 53:13 One day, " he said, "I was sitting there in the home" 53:17 he said, "and I was clicking through the TV waiting for some 53:21 of my buddies to show up 53:22 and all of a sudden there was your face. 53:27 It was just you on the TV 53:29 and you looked right at me and you said: 'I want you to 53:32 know Jesus loves you and I do too. ' " 53:36 And he said: "Miss Brenda, I remembered everything 53:38 like it was yesterday of what you taught me. 53:41 You always told me how much Jesus loved me 53:44 and how much you loved me, " and he said: 53:45 "Miss Brenda, I want to thank you for Kids' Time. " 53:48 He said: "You and Jesus are the only ones that love me. " 53:51 And I gave him the biggest old hug, 53:53 Pastor Gilley, and I let him know and I whispered in his ear 53:57 "Jesus loves you and I do too. " 53:59 And he began to bawl like a baby. Amen. 54:01 Let me tell you: these programs are reaching children. 54:05 'Cause you can just imagine what Kids' Time and Tiny Tots 54:07 are doing. Can you imagine a network with every single time 54:12 you turned it on there is something just for children? 54:14 Amen? I believe God wants this network on sooner than later. 54:19 Amen. And it's going to take all of us pulling together. 54:22 Sacrificing. Like Pastor Asscherick was telling 54:26 not just giving a regular offering but sacrificial giving 54:30 that we can really dig deep into our pockets 54:35 and say: "We want to support God's kids around the world. " 54:38 Amen. Well let me tell you: you have the opportunity 54:42 to do just that. Pray about it 54:45 and pray that the Lord will involve you in some way 54:50 very significantly for this project 54:53 because I believe that Christ is coming soon. 54:55 And I think that He said: "Suffer little children 54:58 to come unto Me and forbid them not 55:01 for of such is the kingdom of heaven. " 55:06 Those were words of Jesus 55:08 and they should still be our words today. 55:12 That's right. I'll tell you: Jesus never pushed those 55:14 children away. In fact you know if you read the texts in the 55:17 Bible about how important it is that we don't 55:20 and what our punishment will be if we do... 55:23 I mean, God's children are important to Him 55:26 and they need to be important to us. 55:28 And I can promise you this as general manager of this 55:31 network: I will work hard; I will pray about every decision. 55:35 I mean that, and we will keep the quality high. 55:38 We know that we want to provide good quality Christ-centered 55:42 programs on this network. 55:44 And I want to hear from you.
