White status been very kind 11:03 and given us permission to put 11:05 a PDF of the book Evangelism on this app. 11:09 So if you are wanting a little-- 11:11 you know something to read, 11:12 inspire yourself the whole book Evangelism is there. 11:15 In addition of that Elder Finley 11:18 has recorded a 14 to 15 minute little presentation 11:23 on each one of a New Beginnings evangelistic presentations 11:26 and that is on here too 11:28 so that you can actually listen it. 11:29 We've only got up in audio to begin with, 11:32 but it's also going to be video 11:33 since they get compression right on this. 11:36 So you can actually sit down and listen to Pastor Finley 11:38 tell you how the conduct this evangelistic sermon. 11:42 Just before you'd have to do it, 11:43 you got 15 minutes. 11:45 Now, Terry, you jump and go ahead. 11:48 Well, I was gonna say, 11:49 you know, we did training in New York City this year. 11:52 We did some DVD training. 11:54 But now when we go to New York City 11:56 we won't have to take DVD's 11:58 because everybody you'll have a devise. 12:00 We will just give them instructions 12:01 on how to download it and use it. 12:04 And another example of that coming up is China. 12:08 We'll have an opportunity to go to China 12:10 and lot of them have their devices already. 12:13 So, we won't have to take in of the equipment, 12:16 we'll be able to take it in and show them 12:19 how to download it. 12:21 There's provinces there that have 12:23 28.5 million people 400 Adventist. 12:27 What kind of the impact you think this could do? 12:30 What kind of impact you think 12:32 you could do with this device in a country like China. 12:37 Now, one more element to this what about little inspiration? 12:40 Let's say you got a team of five or six people 12:42 that are all out on location. 12:44 You're gonna be conducting five or six meetings 12:45 and the all the speakers really together. 12:47 We're actually have taken seven of our evangelists 12:52 that have preached a sermon 12:54 on why evangelism or something like that 12:57 and we have put those sermons on here 12:59 so that you could easily sit down of a team 13:01 and you can listen the Pastor Mark Finley preach 13:03 why evangelism? 13:04 Or Pastor Shawn Boonstra preach about my Father's Business 13:07 or Doug Batchelor preaching, Sharing Your Faith, 13:09 Ken Cox, Living Waters, 13:11 David Asscherick the Golden Rule, 13:13 John Bradshaw and I don't have his title right in front of me 13:16 and we're so confident of the sermon 13:18 that you're about to here by Elder C.D. Brooks 13:20 I'm telling you right now his sermon 13:21 is gonna be on here as well 13:23 and we're quiet excited about that. 13:25 Now what I'd like to do in the time 13:27 I've got I want to go actually right to the actual 13:32 New Beginnings presentation here 13:34 so that you can actually get a sense. 13:36 Here is how this would look on the big screen, okay. 13:40 Simply with my finger I can move this across 13:43 and I am holding this iPad in my hand 13:45 and I am preaching the sermon. 13:47 This is what is seen publicly by the group. 13:50 Now I want to show you 13:52 how easy it is to actually make this go 13:56 so I can now look at it little bit differently, okay. 14:01 Here we go. 14:02 Now, as the presenter this is the scene 14:05 that I see and I've got my text 14:07 and my script right in front of me, 14:09 as I move this across the script changes 14:12 so I know exactly what to say. 14:13 Now anybody can preach the sermon right. 14:16 Anybody can preach the sermon. 14:18 So, we're extremely proud of this 14:21 and pleased with this 14:22 and think it has huge potential. 14:25 Now, Denzel. 14:26 Dan, how much is this cost? 14:28 You know, this is free, this is free. 14:31 But it really isn't free is it. Because there's a price. 14:34 Because when you-- when you get this 14:36 you need to share it. 14:38 That's what it's about, 14:39 it doesn't do any good sitting on your iPhone or your iPad, 14:43 its a truth you'll be used to tell others about Jesus. 14:46 I just want to say as we come 14:48 to the close of our potion of this presentation 14:51 that we are add a point of new beginning for New Beginnings. 14:57 We have had a wonderful run so far using the technology 14:59 that we have now anybody anywhere 15:02 can download these apps. 15:03 In fact, we discovered this 15:04 just went up live on the Apple I store 15:07 and on the android or actually 15:09 it's the Google play store in the last 24 hours. 15:12 We already have people downloading this from UK 15:16 that didn't know-- I mean this you're hearing about 15:18 for the very first time, nobody has known about this 15:20 but somebody found that on the app store 15:22 anybody anywhere will be able to download 15:25 and use these tools and we believe that 15:28 this is perfect timing for the new thrust 15:33 that is gonna be happening in evangelism around the world 15:36 and we want you all be part of that. 15:38 Thank you, Amen, 15:41 Thank you very much. 15:44 And now coming to join me as a team 15:46 from Fountainview Academy located in British Columbia 15:50 and they've embarked 15:51 on a different type of technology doing 15:55 or they actually just got it back recently 15:57 from filming a musical production, 16:01 capturing about the first 17 chapters 16:04 of the Great Controversy 16:05 following in the foot steps of the reformers in Europe. 16:09 Can you imagine? 16:10 So, with me on my left is Michael Dunbar, 16:12 he is the vice president, 16:14 the general vice president from Fountainview Academy, 16:16 next to him James Cleveland one of their students, 16:19 his father Craig Cleveland who is musical director 16:23 and also fills a number of other roll set Fountainview 16:26 and John Bradshaw speaker director for It Is Written. 16:30 Michael, I want to start with you and ask you, 16:33 what transpired I know that has things get out the gate, 16:36 there's a lot of planning that needs to occur 16:39 but I also understand that you seen 16:40 God's hand all along the process. 16:42 Share a little bit of that with us. 16:44 Well, we saw God working even before we left for Europe. 16:49 We planned over a year for this trip 16:51 and as we boarded the plane though 16:54 we still hadn't secured some of our sites in Rome. 16:58 And so we were working on that while on the plane 17:01 and then airports we headed to Europe a week 17:04 before we were in Rome and while we are at ASI Europe, 17:08 Sabbath morning we got an email saying, 17:11 one of the sites that we had planned 17:12 for in Rome down the road 17:14 from the Coliseum was no longer available. 17:17 And so we prayed 17:20 and we asked the Lord to show us 17:21 what He wants us to do. 17:23 And there was an other site that I had seen 17:25 when I was there scouting in April 17:28 and I asked for that site and we sent an email off 17:32 and we said, you know, what its Sabbath 17:33 we are not gonna worry about it, 17:35 we're gonna leave it in the Lord's hands 17:36 and will see what we find in our email Sabbath evening. 17:40 And so when we checked the email Sabbath evening 17:43 there was an email saying, "Yes, you've got that site, 17:45 you can go ahead and use it." 17:47 And we showed up in Rome 17:48 and that was the best site we can ever imagine. 17:51 It was smacked out in front of the Coliseum, 17:54 the lighting was beautiful and we filmed 17:56 there was no one around and Lord just blessed. 17:58 And we experience miracles like this every single day. 18:02 You know, traveling with 44 kids, 18:05 16 staff in five countries throughout Europe. 18:08 The Lord open doors everywhere we want. 18:11 Thank you, Michael. 18:12 James this production is really being designed to bless others 18:18 and to introduce them to Jesus Christ. 18:20 What I want to know is how has it blessed you? 18:23 You know, the way it blessed me 18:26 was a group of us 18:28 of Fountainview on the tour decided 18:30 that we would read in the Great Controversy 18:32 about the sites that we are traveling to. 18:35 And so for example, one morning in my devotions 18:38 I was reading about Luther, how he was whisked away 18:42 to this castle the Wartburg Castle. 18:45 And then later that day we go to the Wartburg Castle 18:47 and I am singing, "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God" 18:50 right in the middle of it 18:51 and that was just an amazing experience. 18:53 And then another time 18:55 we are it Italy in the Waldensian mountains 18:59 and that morning I had read about 19:01 how these Waldensian were cornered on the peak 19:07 and then they were hurled off 19:09 down thousands of feet to the ground. 19:12 And then later that day we hiked up to the top there 19:16 and we are singing, "O Brother, Be Faithful" 19:19 and to me it was just amazing to know, 19:22 you know, they were faithful there 19:24 and what about me? 19:25 Am I gonna be faithful to stand through my faith. 19:29 Craig, we have a trailer 19:31 if you will of this production and then I'm wondering 19:35 if you could set it up for us a little bit 19:37 and share with us when will this be available 19:40 as a tool to be used? 19:41 This Great Controversy Production 19:43 will be released next April 19:45 and I want show you a little sneak preview of it right now 19:48 but, first I've just got to tell you 19:49 if you want to travel wherever you go 19:52 you want to be a witness, don't you this is ASI? 19:54 We want a witness and everywhere I go 19:56 I always have our productions in my laptop bag 19:59 or in my suitcase or in my car 20:01 when I am driving and its been so exciting to see 20:04 this is our fourth big witness production to see 20:07 that its so effective. 20:08 It's easy and it's effective. This is how it's easy. 20:11 If you're gonna sit on the plane 20:12 by so many get rider then for several hours 20:14 you're praying Lord, put me by somebody 20:16 that wants to know the truth. 20:17 Put me by somebody that's open. 20:19 You been praying that, 20:20 you wondering is this the person? 20:21 And so you strike up a conversation. 20:23 If you're gonna hand them the Great Controversy 20:26 I believe it should be easy and it can be easy. 20:28 Think of it this way, you don't have the worry about 20:30 are they gonna ask us 666, or the mark of the beast 20:32 but just tell them about ASI, 20:35 tell them about Fountainview Academy orchestra 20:37 and that ASI supported fund me 20:38 to go on this history production in Europe 20:40 and the kids are amazing when they sing and they play 20:43 and they play and sing with their hearts 20:45 and then they tell the story 20:46 and the story comes from this amazing text. 20:48 Whenever it looks like world is gonna fall apart, 20:50 you get out this text, you read it, 20:52 you're inspired, you see how God led in the past 20:54 and how He is gonna lead in the future 20:55 and you can trust God. 20:56 It's also effective. 20:58 Read 2 Kings Chapter 3, 21:00 just one of the places in the Bible 21:01 where we know that's music 21:04 invites the presence of the Holy Spirit. 21:05 When sacred music is played the Holy Spirit is active 21:08 and then it will lead the people 21:10 to read the text and be there. 21:11 So in this little clip we are gonna see 21:13 first the cave and Waldensian valleys 21:15 where the people would hide, when they are being pursued 21:18 or when they-- where they would worship in secret. 21:20 Let me go to our theme song 21:22 "Mighty Fortress" in several different locations. 21:24 The first one is the Coliseum, the Wartburg Castle 21:27 we end up at the Cohort of Berlin and Leibniz 21:30 where the-- it's the fort where the conquerors would say 21:33 aloud across the Atlantic such as Christopher Columbus. 21:35 Thank you we will watch that-- 21:36 One more thing Debbie, I have to say ASI, 21:38 thank you so much for partnering with us 21:41 and helping us fund this one wonderful production. 21:46 Faith of our fathers, living still 21:52 In spite of dungeon, fire and sword 21:59 O how our hearts beat high with joy 22:05 Whene'er we hear that glorious word! 22:11 Faith of our fathers! Holy faith! 22:17 We will be true to thee till death! 22:36 Welcome. 22:37 I'm your host John Bradshaw and I am so glad you joined us 22:41 for the Great Controversy Production 22:43 presented by Fountainview Academy 22:45 orchestra and singers. 22:56 A mighty Fortress is our God, 23:01 A Bulwark never failing 23:06 Our Helper He amid the flood 23:11 Of mortal ills prevailing 23:17 For still our ancient foe 23:22 Doth seek to work us woe 23:26 His craft and power are great 23:30 And, armed with cruel hate 23:35 On earth is not his equal 23:45 Amen. 23:46 What a tool that can be used for Jesus. 23:48 John, I understand that 23:50 you are the narrator for this production 23:53 and this actually holds special significance for you. 23:55 Share that with us. 23:56 It does, because on two levels 23:58 I became a Christian in Europe, funny not. 24:00 I was there briefly and that's where I met Jesus 24:03 and I became a Christian and a Seventh-day Adventist 24:05 because I read the Great Controversy. 24:08 God used that to bring me to faith in Jesus Christ. 24:11 So to be part of this project, 24:13 this magnificent production was from me 24:16 an absolute privilege and I can tell you first hand 24:19 that when you share this production with others, 24:21 other people will be as inspired 24:23 as I was to see the students singing so beautifully 24:26 and playing and witnessing 24:27 and sharing testimonies in some of the most 24:30 inspirational locations on the planet, 24:33 some of them the most relevant to our history as Christian. 24:37 So this is one of the most exciting productions 24:40 you'll ever have the privilege of being 24:42 able to share with somebody else. 24:45 Thank you very much, Fountainview Academy, 24:46 for what you doing with this production. 24:48 Amen. 24:50 You know, I just want to say here, 24:54 that all throughout the convention 24:57 we have been able to highlight ministries 24:59 and how God is working in individuals in you 25:02 to share the gospel with others 25:04 and it wouldn't be possible without ministries like 3ABN. 25:09 And so I just want to on behalf of ASI family 25:13 and those that are watching, thank you Danny and Jim Gilley, 25:17 and all the team in 3ABN for doing what you've done 25:21 so that we can be aware and know how people 25:24 are sharing Christ in their marketplaces. 25:27 This year will be-- November 84 25:32 is when the Lord impressed us to build the station 25:34 to reach the world. 25:35 So we are looking it coming up on 29 years Debbie, 25:38 but from the beginning the Lord had impressed me 25:40 that this is not for me, this is not for individuals 25:43 that 3ABN was to be a channel of blessing 25:47 and its amazing the communication highways, 25:49 the new ones continue to develop 25:52 but I remember in Big Sky Montana, 1985, 25:56 I met a young man named Dan Houghton. 25:59 Dan and Karen were doing the audio 26:01 and selling cassette tapes and he and I and their family 26:05 we would talk about things that could happen 26:09 and to see it over the years the growth of ASI. 26:12 And I meet folks around the world 26:14 who say I became the member of ASI through watching 3ABN. 26:18 But it has been our goal to work with church 26:20 which is we're not a church we're non-profit organization 26:23 but to work with the church, to work with ASI 26:26 and ASI is absolutely an incredible organization. 26:29 For those of you at home 26:30 we encourage you to support them 26:32 not only prayerfully but financially. 26:34 Because without ASI these members, 26:36 these are movers and shakers in this church 26:39 and you are too at home. 26:41 Say Lord, what would You have made to do? 26:43 And Debbie, there is a work to be done. 26:46 God has open enough highways I've never seen before. 26:49 The other night I was on a way here 26:52 Tuesday, I was coming Tuesday night, 26:54 I stopped in Tampa didn't get here till yesterday. 26:56 I have kidney stones, I still have one 26:59 that I'm hoping will passphrase seems very miserable 27:02 but I was in a hotel room by myself miserable 27:05 and I said ASI is going on and it occurred to me. 27:09 You know what I did? 27:10 Pulled out my cell phone 27:11 I just head down loaded a 3ABN app. 27:13 You got a smart phone just download, 27:16 go to your apps download 3ABN. 27:19 And you know what happens? 27:20 3ABN came on so I sit there and was able to watch it. 27:23 I said I feel like I'm there. 27:26 So thank you very much Danny, 27:27 we really very much appreciate all that you're doing 27:30 and all that everyone is doing individuals 27:33 and ministries and business to share the love of Jesus. 27:36 Its God work and as we work together 27:38 join hands together, 27:40 we are gonna be able to Jesus come back 27:42 very soon on the clouds of glory. 27:44 Thank you. Thank you, Debbie. 27:47 Now I'd like to introduce to you 27:48 someone who is no stranger, 27:50 you've already heard the Lord working through him, 27:53 Elder Ted Wilson is coming to the podium 27:56 and he is going to introduce someone very special 27:58 that we are gonna hear from a little bit more later. 28:01 Elder Wilson, share with us 28:03 about this gentleman that's with you. 28:05 It is marvelous demonstration 28:07 of Christ prayer of unity in John 17 28:11 to see denominational entities 28:15 and workers working with lay members, 28:19 with supporting ministries, with volunteers just like ASI 28:24 and I just want to thank you on behalf of the world church 28:28 of Seventh-day Adventist for what ASI does. 28:32 A prime example of this would be 28:34 in a very remote country far from Florida, 28:39 the country of Mongolia. 28:41 Mongolia is a place 28:43 where the Seventh-day Adventist church 28:44 is very young only about 20 years ago. 28:49 And yet it's a vibrant growing church 28:52 but it needs infrastructure, 28:54 it needs the establishment of centers of influence in areas 28:57 where we have no Seventh-day Adventist. 29:01 It's a marvelous thing 29:02 to see the Northern Asia Pacific division 29:04 led by Pastor Jairyong Lee, 29:07 the Mongolia field led by Pastor Elbert Kuhn 29:12 and his wife Cleidi 29:15 who is very dynamic part of the team working with ASI, 29:21 working with volunteers from Australia, 29:24 people from Ukraine and different places. 29:27 Now the individual who is leading out 29:29 in that very important venture 29:31 to establish centers of influence churches 29:34 and special centers to reach the people of Mongolia 29:39 is Peter Koolik. 29:41 Peter is a contractor from Redcliffe, Australia. 29:46 We have the great privilege of working with Peter 29:49 and his lovely wife Nerida 29:51 in the Euro-Asia Division in Russia. 29:55 We had a marvelous time 29:56 has Peter lead in the construction 30:00 of many of the building at Zaoksky Adventist seminary 30:04 and our division office in Moscow. 30:07 God has called Peter and his volunteer associates 30:12 to go to Mongolia and to help 30:15 establish the work in that country. 30:18 It is absolutely a marvelous example of working together 30:23 and we praise God for that. 30:25 I know you're gonna be inspired as Peter shares his story. 30:29 Thank you very much. 30:30 So Peter, catch us up and tells us 30:34 what have you been doing over the summer 30:35 you and your wife? 30:39 We have Debbie, we have just arrived from Mongolia. 30:41 We spent seven months there 30:43 and we'll be returning back there in few weeks. 30:45 We've actually been involved 30:46 in the building of church community centers. 30:50 So that's exactly what you doing in Mongolia? 30:52 Correct, Yes. Okay. 30:53 And then tell us, I understand that Mongolia 30:58 is not here balmy vacation resort destination. 31:02 Can you describe for us exactly what it's like in Mongolia 31:05 and maybe share little about the project? 31:08 Sure. 31:09 Debbie, I'd like to invite you and our ASI family 31:13 to picture the same with me for a few moments. 31:16 Just step into my shoes reflecting 31:19 on a summer's day in Mongolia. 31:22 We walk down the town's dusty road, 31:25 people were scary past carrying water 31:28 from a town spring which is maybe a mile away. 31:32 And by the way nearly 80 percent of Mongolians 31:35 do not have access to running water. 31:38 I mean, drag the sheep down the street 31:41 or may be a goat to sell for meat. 31:44 You hear it bleating and your eyes follow 31:47 as he takes it to nearby field to be slaughtered. 31:51 You know, they will kill it in such a way 31:54 so they can eat and use everything. 31:58 You continue walking 31:59 until you reach the construction side 32:01 and you marvel that just 20 years ago 32:05 there was no Adventist presence 32:06 whatsoever here in Mongolia. 32:09 Yet today they are scavenging of church buildings 32:12 and round about 200-- 2,000 members. 32:16 Perhaps the lack of Adventist influence 32:19 is due to the harsh climate. 32:21 Since the capital of Ulaanbaatar 32:23 is the coldest capital city in the world dropping-- 32:27 the temperature is dropping down to minus 50 degrees 32:30 in the winter months making construction 32:32 almost impossible during that time. 32:35 The buildings that we're erecting in Mongolia 32:38 are really centers of influence buildings 32:41 because their purpose is to engage 32:44 with the local community 32:45 by just sharing God's love in practical ways 32:49 and also to be utilized as a church on Sabbath. 32:53 The construction team is already here. 32:55 This community group of Ukrainians, 32:57 Mongolians and Australian volunteers 32:59 and you thank God for these dedicated men 33:02 who work 10 to 12 hours each day 33:05 only having Sabbaths to rest. 33:08 Most of them sleep on a-- on a mattress, 33:10 on the floor in one of the two basement rooms 33:13 that we have rented 33:14 and they live away from their families 33:16 for the entire building season, 33:19 so that they can make a difference 33:21 in this Buddhist country 33:22 that is almost untouched by Christian influence. 33:27 You then see the occult shaman priest exit his house 33:32 which is right next door to the construction site. 33:35 The building that you can see 33:36 behind that is our construction site 33:39 and you can feel 33:41 the spiritual battle rage over the site today. 33:45 You know, shamanism is Mongolians first religion 33:49 that involves reaching other states of consciousness 33:52 in order to interact with the spirit world. 33:56 Local people they come to the priest 33:58 for divination and for healing. 34:01 And you realize it's not just by chance 34:04 that the shaman priest is right beside 34:07 what will be the Adventist hub in this town. 34:12 You pray for protection 34:13 and you know that God's Holy Spirit 34:15 will prevail despite this obvious conflict, 34:19 spiritual conflict. 34:22 Other challenges arise during a day 34:24 and you realize why very few will commit 34:28 to being missionaries in this place. 34:31 Yet you know what, God is here, 34:35 He is here and He is working. 34:39 You imagine this whole full of believers in the months 34:43 to come maybe in the years to come 34:45 and you look out in the street and you wonder 34:47 how many of the faces you greet each day 34:50 will eventually come to know Jesus. 34:54 You praise God for the 12 new members 34:56 who now make up the local church 34:58 which was nonexistent here just three months ago 35:02 prior to construction beginning. 35:05 I believe now is a time thrust up here 35:09 God's work in Mongolia, this challenging country 35:12 that has some of the harshest conditions in the world. 35:15 You know Mongolia's economy 35:17 is developing at rapid pace due to the mining boon. 35:21 Land is inexpensive now and building materials are 35:24 but its not gonna be like that forever. 35:27 I believe Mongolia can be and should be 35:30 a launching pad for missionaries, 35:33 Mongolian missionaries to travel freely 35:35 to Northern China and to Northern Korea 35:38 where they can go without visas to minister 35:41 in these close countries like no others can. 35:45 What an opportunity for God's work 35:48 is spread to these untouched countries of our world. 35:53 I believe the Lord has called my wife and I 35:56 for such a time as this. 35:58 In 2006 our team built a community center 36:02 in the province of Bulacan in central Mongolia. 36:06 We believe the Lord spared our lives 36:09 when we were involved 36:10 in a serious road accident on our departure 36:13 and we believe that Lord has called us 36:16 from Mongolia again to continue this work. 36:20 The process is in place, 36:23 we have teams and volunteers ready and waiting. 36:27 We have strong support from the church at all levels, 36:30 form mission level, 36:31 division and the general conference level. 36:34 We know we have the support of ASI 36:37 and I'd like to thank you whole heartedly for this 36:40 and for all you're doing to thrive the God's kingdom 36:43 especially in the challenging parts of the world 36:46 such as Mongolia. 36:49 Peter, I can certainly feel the passion 36:52 that you have for Mongolia. 36:54 Why is despite all of these challenges 36:57 you and your wife are continuing in this work there? 37:00 Debbie, as on mention 20 years ago 37:02 there was not one Adventist in Mongolia 37:05 have a population of three million. 37:07 Today, we have almost 2,000 Adventist there. 37:11 I understand ASI were involved in the very first building 37:15 that was built in Mongolia. 37:17 We now an opportunity to take this to the next level 37:20 and my wife and I have committed to be involved 37:23 over the next few years in Mongolia 37:25 and we know the Lord blessed this initiate as we go forward. 37:28 Thank you so much, Peter. 37:30 We must pray and support the Mongolia project. 37:36 Our next project our last 37:37 that one we want to highlight for you this morning 37:40 comes from the Congo from Keith Mosier 37:44 who is with Congo Frontline Missions. 37:47 And wow, this is really something 37:50 all around the world were kind of feeling 37:52 what God is doing. 37:54 Keith, first tell us exactly where does your family live 37:58 because you're not just by yourself 38:00 and why are you there? 38:02 My family and I live 38:03 in a Democratic Republic of Congo. 38:05 We will show you a picture upon the screen here. 38:07 We know, we've missed ASI for the last three years. 38:10 The first time 38:11 my wife and I were here together on our honeymoon 38:13 it was four years ago and now you can see 38:15 we have a family that we arising in Congo. 38:17 Both of my kids have lived most our lives there in Congo. 38:21 Now you've had some experience with the one day church. 38:24 Tell us about the blessings that you've experienced. 38:27 Well, God has been taking such good care of us. 38:29 We put up about 41 one day churches now 38:32 and we've also put up other buildings. 38:34 We built our houses for our campus 38:36 and also our evangelism training school 38:38 in this challenging place out of one day churches. 38:40 That's wonderful. 38:41 I also understand because we know that 38:43 we have one day churches, 38:44 we have one day schools, one day hospitals 38:46 and that goes on and on folks, 38:48 but tell us some what's the need is 38:51 or what for schools there? 38:54 Well, there is a big need for education in Congo. 38:58 Two out of three people can read in Congo 39:01 and the other third of the population 39:03 cannot read and write. 39:04 There is a lack of literacy 39:05 a lack of schools and education. 39:08 It's a country of children. 39:10 Half of the population is under the age 16 years old. 39:14 It's a country that really needs 39:17 good quality education, 39:18 good quality Adventist education. 39:20 Well, when you talk about Adventist education 39:23 are the Adventist schools in the Congo much different? 39:26 Well, we have some good Adventist schools 39:29 I am really thankful for them. 39:31 It's a challenge in a country 39:32 where there are exams given on Sabbath 39:34 with the government and secular schools, 39:37 so its really a blessing 39:38 if you can get good Adventist education 39:40 and you can just imagine what its like for mothers. 39:44 DRC was recently sighted of his being 39:46 the worse place in the world to be a mother. 39:49 In a place with war and conflict and fighting 39:52 and pain and disease these mothers are struggling 39:55 just to keep food on their tables, 39:57 to keep clothes in the bags of their 39:59 five to seven children often times, 40:01 to pay the school fees to get their kids in a school. 40:04 I remember recently as I was traveling down to Kirundu 40:08 I visit several Adventist schools along the way. 40:09 It took me two days by motorcycle 40:11 to get down to this place 40:13 where the Adventist message came in early in the 1920's 40:17 to start sharing the gospel there 40:19 but I past some of these schools. 40:20 We'll show you one on a screen here. 40:22 It's a challenging environment to teach 40:26 as you can imagine with this mud structure. 40:28 The only things that don't come out of the jungle 40:30 are the pens and the pieces of paper 40:32 that they write with often times on their lab 40:34 sitting there in that school. 40:36 Oh my-- so there is definitely a need 40:38 and the one day church structures can fulfill 40:41 that need for the schools. 40:42 Yes, in fact we are so excited 40:44 that we got a container of one day schools 40:46 to make a new complex for a primary 40:48 and secondary school in the area of Kisangani. 40:52 Just this week this container has been loaded 40:54 and is about ready to ship 40:55 to Congo for us to put these up. 40:57 Praise the Lord. 40:58 Now, I also know that this doesn't come without sacrifice 41:03 and you shared with me 41:04 the experience of one of your church planter 41:08 are having a really terrible experience 41:10 and I'd like you to share that with our ASI family 41:12 so they have an understanding 41:14 what people are putting on the line for Jesus. 41:18 Yes, two weeks ago I was in Congo 41:20 and I went out to visit Nebenjrobi 41:22 one of our church planters. 41:24 We trained Nebenjrobi about three years ago 41:27 and moved him with his family 41:29 to the village of Kabondo to plant a church. 41:31 We have over 60 church plants that we've started 41:35 and our going strong, we prayed God. 41:37 Sixty church plants? That's right. 41:39 And so he is working at this remote place. 41:41 We built a lot of one day churches 41:42 as I said over 41 day churches. 41:44 He is at one of the remote place 41:46 where we haven't even able to get the materials in. 41:48 So it took me 10 hours to get to his village. 41:50 I'll show you a picture here of crossing a Congo River 41:53 with my motorcycle in the canoe to get out there. 41:56 And then continuing-- you'll see the next picture 41:59 how we went through water 42:01 almost waist deep to get out there. 42:03 Two different rivers where there is no bridges 42:04 and no way to go to across. 42:06 It was really a challenging, 42:08 in fact, I got there late at night. 42:09 And you got there late at night. 42:11 Now how far is this distance that you were traveling? 42:13 Its 170 kilometers. 42:15 Which is roughly how many miles? 42:17 Near 100 miles. 42:18 Okay, so 100 miles that's not too bad, 42:20 but how long did it take to get there? 42:22 Ten hours. Ten hours. 42:25 It was quite the long track and we just continued on 42:27 through this various challenges. 42:29 When I got there I just thought about 42:31 what it was like for his family traveling out there. 42:33 It took him from all the way his home village to get there 42:36 about two weeks traveling on bicycle 42:37 when he first moved there 42:39 with his family three years ago. 42:41 And they've gone through some serious challenges. 42:45 Since they got there he arrived with four daughters. 42:47 His wife gave birth to another little girl 42:49 while they were there in that village. 42:52 This little girl was just about a year old 42:55 when the whole family got sick. 42:57 It was last year when that little girl died. 43:00 The rest of the family came through the sickness 43:03 with broken hearts still serving Jesus 43:06 in this tough place. 43:08 Caring on the message and now this year 43:10 his wife was pregnant again. 43:13 But she was still getting sick, 43:14 sometimes it's really there is a lot of diseases. 43:16 In fact my family struggled with tropical diseases. 43:18 Both my daughter and my wife have been treated 43:21 for so much serious illnesses just this year 43:24 and all of us gotten various tropical diseases and things 43:28 but this lady she was serving Jesus 43:30 she got sick and she gave birth 43:32 to her little baby boy over a month premature 43:36 and yet the bleeding didn't stop. 43:39 And a few hours later the next morning 43:42 she was saying good bye to her husband. 43:43 She knew she wasn't going last any longer. 43:46 She said an Nebenjrobi, 43:51 I want you to take care of our kids. 43:53 I want you to keep doing God's work. 43:58 So, even on her last breath 44:01 she was thinking about the work for Jesus. 44:03 I can tell this is touching you, 44:05 it's difficult for it not to touch you. 44:07 It was a dying mother's request, 44:09 for care for her children 44:11 and the God's work will go forward 44:13 she would see them again in the kingdom. 44:14 Amen.
