00:13 Ellen White makes a statement.
00:15 She says, that "when, God's people sing to him,
00:21 angels are there singing with him."
00:25 I like to say when God's people lift up bells,
00:31 his angels are there with Him, singing praise to them.
00:34 The next song we're gonna hear,
00:35 the song we're going to play for you is 'Praise the Lord.'
00:39 It's a familiar song.
00:40 And think over it and think of the angels playing this song.
01:00 [music]
05:07 How many of you today, found something to complain about.
05:13 I don't see any hand, that's good.
05:16 All too often complaining fits
05:19 naturally into our daily conversations.
05:22 Ellen White says, "Do not utter one despondent word
05:26 for such words, please Satan.
05:29 Talk of Christ's goodness and tell of His power.
05:33 Words of hope and trust and courage
05:35 are as easily spoken as the words of complaint.
05:39 Rejoice in the Lord all way."
05:40 And again I say rejoice.
05:43 This evening I want to encourage you
05:45 to think through your day, think about negative things
05:48 that you said and how you could have changed
05:51 those negative situations or those negative comments
05:54 and replace them with rejoicing to our Savior.
05:58 Think about that tonight
05:59 as the Oklahoma Academy Bell Choir plays 'Let us Rejoice.'
06:17 [music]
08:46 Good evening GYC.
08:49 Happy Sabbath.
08:51 Happy Sabbath. Happy Sabbath.
08:53 Sorry, I didn't see some people on the left side
08:55 give me a happy Sabbath.
08:57 So I won't, I won't call anybody yell.
09:01 As we welcome to Sabbath,
09:02 I wanted to read from the word of God.
09:05 Mathew, Chapter 11 and verse 28 to 30.
09:08 Jesus says, "Come unto me,
09:12 all ye that labor and are heavy laden
09:16 and I will give you rest.
09:19 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me
09:23 for I am meek and lowly in heart and ye shall find rest
09:29 for your souls, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
09:35 Amen. We find three steps of how to find rest.
09:41 We don't receive rest on the Sabbath,
09:43 because we stop doing our work.
09:45 We already ironed our cloths and polished our shoes.
09:49 The Bible says, the first step
09:50 in finding rest is coming to Jesus. Amen.
09:54 Rest is a gift from Christ.
09:57 Amen. It is not a gift of just taking a day off.
09:59 Many people take a day off, but they don't find rest.
10:03 Not the rest that Jesus offers.
10:05 Number two, it says
10:07 "Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me."
10:13 Jesus says, "If we begin to give off whatever yoke
10:17 we are wearing and we decide to yoke with Christ to labor
10:22 with Jesus is the second step in finding rest."
10:27 Rest is not inactivity.
10:29 It is changing our service.
10:32 And in a third thing He says, He says "Learn of me."
10:38 The most restful thing we can do on this day is to sit
10:42 and watch Jesus to contemplate His life.
10:47 And in the words of Martin Luther,
10:49 "When I look at myself I don't know how I can be saved.
10:55 But when I look at Jesus
10:57 I don't know how I can be lost."
10:59 If you would not mind rising with me
11:03 as we pray to welcome God's Sabbath.
11:10 Might God, everlasting Father,
11:16 we are those who have labored and are heavy laden.
11:21 It has been a busy few days since Wednesday night.
11:25 We've been busy here and there at seminars,
11:28 prayer sessions, conversations in our hotel rooms,
11:32 rushing to go to lunch, rushing to outreach.
11:35 Lord, we've been all over the place.
11:38 But we're asking on today
11:40 that you would give us a blessing on this Sabbath,
11:42 we could have never gotten on any other Sabbath hitherto.
11:46 Nor shall we ever find on a Sabbath to come.
11:50 And so teach us, on this day
11:53 as we seek rest to come to Jesus.
11:56 To let Him give us rest.
11:59 To take Jesus' yoke upon us and to labor with the Lord.
12:05 And to sit at Jesus' feet just to wash the Master.
12:11 Being reminded that it is the love of our selves
12:14 and our pride that destroys our peace.
12:18 May we rest in Your love
12:24 and may the sweet, sweet spirit of Jesus
12:27 hover over this place and every soul.
12:31 Renew us again Lord.
12:33 This is our prayer and we trust
12:37 that you'll help us to be our experience
12:39 for we ask in Jesus name, amen.
12:43 Happy Sabbath.
12:51 Good evening.
12:53 How many of you ever walked into your church
12:55 and then met by somebody saying, happy Sabbath.
12:59 And you could tell they weren't happy that they,
13:02 may be they had a bad day.
13:03 Or you look outside the door and you see a family coming
13:06 and the parents are yelling at their kids
13:07 and they walk inside and they're like happy Sabbath.
13:11 What kind of, what kind of witness
13:12 are we being to the world?
13:14 Our lives, we should be the happiest,
13:16 most cheerful people as Adventists, as Christians,
13:19 because God is in control.
13:22 So what kind of song are we singing
13:24 that the worlds can hear?
13:26 I just want to encourage you to think about that,
13:28 as we sing this song
13:30 and that you will let your life be a song of praise.
13:50 Tune my heart oh God,
13:55 that I may sing for Thee
14:00 Teach my lips to speak
14:03 words of love and peace
14:07 Let my tongue declare Thy praise
14:12 Guide my spirit Lord
14:18 That I may live for Thee
14:22 Teach me how to show the goodness of Thy love
14:28 Walk beside me Lord each day
14:33 Fill my heart with songs of joy
14:39 Fill my spirit with words of love
14:44 And let my voice be raised for Thy Glory alone
14:52 Lord make my life
14:54 a song of praise
15:00 Lord make my life and let me live
15:06 That I may share Your grace
15:11 Let everything I say and do
15:16 bring glory to Your name
15:22 Fill my heart with songs of joy
15:28 Fill my spirit with words of love
15:33 And let my voice be raised for Thy Glory alone
15:41 Lord make my life a song of praise
15:48 Lord make my life
15:51 a song of praise
16:14 In God's church there are many people
16:18 from many nations with many tongues.
16:21 And languages who proclaim God as Lord,
16:26 but there will be one swelling choir
16:30 when we reach our heavenly home.
16:32 And to an audience of one,
16:35 we will sing to the Father, Spirit and Son.
16:40 Let us all pray that God will fill you and me
16:45 and seal us for that day in heavens choir.
17:10 When we lift our voices to heaven
17:18 And we sing alleluias
17:23 to worship the Lord
17:26 We prepare for the day
17:30 when we join all heaven's praise
17:34 With an audience of one
17:39 We will sing to the Son
17:44 In heaven's choir
17:49 we'll join saints in glory
17:52 In heaven's choir we'll worship the Lord
18:00 And when we bow
18:04 before His throne
18:08 We'll sing holy, holy,
18:15 holy We'll praise the Lord
18:19 on high in heaven's choir
18:36 In the church are many nations
18:39 Nations, different races Races, different songs
18:43 There are different nations who proclaim Christ as Lord
18:50 But there will no more division
18:54 When we reach our heavenly home
18:58 We'll all sing as one
19:02 in the presence of the Son
19:08 In heaven's choir we'll join saints in glory
19:16 In heaven's choir we'll worship the Lord
19:23 And when we bow before His throne
19:31 We'll sing holy, holy,
19:37 holy We'll praise the Lord
19:42 on high in heaven's choir
19:50 We'll join saints in glory
19:54 In heaven's choir we'll worship the Lord
20:01 And when we bow before His throne
20:09 We'll sing holy, holy, holy
20:17 We'll praise the Lord
20:20 on high in heaven's choir
20:33 In heaven's choir
20:39 we'll worship the Lord
20:44 In heaven's choir
20:52 we'll worship the Lord
21:12 Oklahoma Academy is grateful to be able to be here tonight.
21:16 Not all of our students could make it,
21:17 but as many as could are here.
21:20 We also have a few former students' alumni
21:23 that are singing along with us and playing along with us.
21:27 But we do really appreciate being able to be here.
21:30 This next song
21:32 pretty sure most of you have heard it before.
21:35 The title of this song is the Hallelujah Chorus
21:38 out of Handel's Messiah.
21:41 As you sing, as we sing Hallelujah Chorus,
21:44 we would actually like you to sing along
21:46 so if you guys will join with us and stand up.
21:49 For those of you who have sung this before
21:53 we could use him help
21:54 in different sections or whatever.
21:56 Just stay in your seats please though.
22:00 But go ahead and sing along
22:02 as we're singing the Hallelujah Chorus.
22:04 So just think of how this experience here at GYC
22:09 has filled you with the Holy Spirit.
22:12 And when you're filled with the Holy Spirit,
22:14 we just sang this song heaven's choir.
22:17 We're gonna want we're wanting to join in heaven's choir
22:21 or what are we gonna sing in heaven's choir,
22:24 I imagine singing the Hallelujah Chorus
22:26 and other songs like that.

26:24 Please join me for word of prayer.
26:27 Heavenly Father, we thank you so much
26:28 for this wonderful high Sabbath You have given us
26:31 and what a wonderful way to finish it of.
26:34 We simply wanna pray for Your presence to be with us
26:36 for the rest of the service today.
26:38 And that Your spirit might continue to dwell
26:40 in our hearts as a result to this conference.
26:42 We pray all these things in name of Jesus. Amen.
26:45 Good evening, Elder Knott.
26:47 Good evening, Thando.
26:48 Now you're the editor of the Adventist Review, correct?
26:52 Yes. And you brought with you a very special edition
26:55 of the review to GYC.
26:56 Can you tell us what's in that edition?
27:00 This year we've put it out in your hands an eight page,
27:03 special edition for GYC alone.
27:07 Well, I say alone, everyone else
27:08 in the church gets to read it too.
27:11 That special issue focuses
27:13 on receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit.
27:15 You're going to find in that edition
27:18 fascinating information about how you can prepare
27:21 your own life for God's promise gift?
27:24 I also tell a little story in there about a revival
27:27 that went through my academy just 40 years ago.
27:30 And some lessons I learned.
27:32 You'll find an article by Cliff Goldstein,
27:34 a wonderful piece by Douglas Cooper
27:36 and editorial by Justin McNeilus.
27:38 You gonna want to take that home later this evening
27:40 and read it and enjoy it over this coming weekend.
27:43 And every single person here gets a copy.
27:45 Everyone gets a copy and a hundred thousand
27:47 unique visitors a month to the Adventist Review website
27:51 get to see it all too.
27:53 Look at the information in there about how you can access
27:55 the Adventist Review website to continue
27:58 getting not only this material, but all the content.
28:01 Now Elder Knott, when most people in this congregation
28:05 think about the review, they think of it as a magazine
28:08 for their parents, or their grandparents.
28:11 What relevance does the review have for young people
28:14 or how can young people--
28:17 You know, truth never goes out of style, does it?
28:20 Amen. God's truth, God's promises
28:23 never goes out of style.
28:25 Whatever age you are, you're looking,
28:27 you're hungering for the power
28:28 of the Holy Spirit in your life.
28:30 And the Adventist Review, has been here for a 162 years
28:34 communicating that message.
28:37 It doesn't make any difference whether you are 14 or 84,
28:40 this magazine is a place where you can get solid
28:43 Bible based truth, find articles that inspire you.
28:46 Read the material of other young authors,
28:49 who are writing about their growing experience with Jesus.
28:52 Yes, your grandparents read it,
28:53 your parents read it and it's a wonderful place
28:56 for you to find inspiration in your own life.
28:59 Now you mentioned young authors
29:01 and that picked my ears because I love to write,
29:04 but one of the things that you're looking for here at GYC
29:07 is young people who can contribute
29:09 by writing articles for the Review.
29:12 What does it take for young person
29:13 who may have never written, suppose I'm very nervous,
29:17 you may not accept my publication,
29:18 and I am not very confident?
29:20 How can I get published in the Review.
29:23 Well, let's take your case specifically,
29:25 how can you get published?
29:26 Well, get to know the editor,
29:28 that always helps but actually,
29:31 actually you will find in the magazine each week
29:35 an address where you can send material to us.
29:37 Also take the opportunity
29:39 while we are here over these days.
29:41 Come up and talk with me about your interest in writing.
29:43 One of the reasons I come to GYC
29:45 every year is to recruit authors from your generation.
29:48 So that it will, the magazine will speak
29:50 to your generation as well.
29:53 Take the opportunity to let the Lord's gifting
29:55 in your life through writings be expressed in the pages
29:58 of this very old, but very new magazine.
30:00 And so what would happen
30:02 if I have to submit an article,
30:03 I suppose I'm inspired and I go home
30:05 and I write something, but it's not perfect,
30:08 you know and what?
30:10 Editors like to have employment,
30:12 so editors work with you.
30:14 We are not sitting here trying to read out
30:16 what's good and what's bad
30:17 and keep people out of the magazine.
30:18 We're trying to find fresh creative material
30:21 that the Lord is laying on your heart.
30:23 I assigned an assistant editor to work
30:25 with each piece that we accept.
30:27 That editor works with you to develop a piece
30:29 that you are happy with that speaks to the church.
30:32 Those are the kind of authors
30:34 I am looking for when I come to GYC.
30:36 So how I can, did you have a booth
30:37 here at GYC that I can visit.
30:39 I'm my own one person booth,
30:41 roaming all over the place
30:43 here for the next several days.
30:44 Find me and talk with me about God's
30:46 gifting of writing in your life.
30:48 Okay, thank you Elder Knott.
32:40 This summer GYC teamed up with Vida
32:43 to host a mission trip in Honduras.
32:46 And as you could see from the video there was construction,
32:49 there was evangelism and there as a medical
32:53 as well, some medical services for the community,
32:56 so behind me you see just a few of the group
32:59 of the two mission trips that came.
33:02 And I encourage you to find them after this is over
33:05 and ask them about their experience.
33:07 But I want to introduce you to Naomi,
33:10 she is a missionary there in Honduras.
33:13 And Naomi, share with us how this experience
33:16 with Vida and GYC the mission trip,
33:19 your perspective on that experience.
33:21 Well the harvest is ready, but the workers are few.
33:26 There's simply not enough people
33:29 in our small little group.
33:33 The harvest is ready, but the workers are few
33:35 and we are a small group in Honduras
33:37 working in this ministry.
33:39 And with all the evangelism work
33:41 that needs to go on in the world for Jesus to return.
33:44 There is no way we can do without each other.
33:47 And so what we experienced was GYC coming and lending
33:51 a helping hand, where we could not have done it otherwise.
33:55 There is so many lives that need to be touched
33:57 and we live in just a small village of 5,000 people.
34:00 But having an extra 60 people come during the summer
34:03 to knock on doors means a lot.
34:06 Lives were changed, people gave their hearts to the Lord.
34:10 And we experience new life ourselves.
34:14 If you want to know more about
34:15 Vida stop by and see their booth.
34:17 We had a wonderful experience there and often times
34:21 we go on a mission trip, thinking
34:22 we are only going to be there to reach people.
34:25 But God often reaches us there and I want to quickly ask
34:28 Alex and Melisa to come forward.
34:30 These are two individuals were on the mission trip
34:34 and were both baptized and really quickly.
34:37 Melisa what made you decide to be baptized there?
34:41 At GYC Baltimore 2010,
34:43 I made the decision to go to Honduras on a mission trip.
34:46 I grew up in a Seventh-day Adventist Christian family.
34:49 But over the last couple of years of my life
34:51 I was drifting away from God in a major way.
34:54 And the two weeks in Honduras provided a time
34:56 for me to be away from my cell phone, away from my job,
35:00 away from the internet and it gave me a chance
35:03 to really be able to hear God's voice.
35:05 And while Eric Montenegro, the evangelist who was preaching
35:09 was speaking every night in our evangelistic series.
35:12 I was listening to him speak and I was watching
35:14 his perseverance and his determination
35:16 as the rain was coming down on our tent
35:18 and he was preaching to the Honduran people and my heart
35:20 was so deeply touched that I had to give myself whole
35:24 even 100 percent back to God again. Amen.
35:27 Amen. And Alex what was so life changing
35:30 for you about this mission trip?
35:32 This mission trip changed completely my life.
35:34 When I got to Honduras
35:36 and I made a decision to baptize in.
35:39 Actually it was not just baptized with water,
35:41 this was Holy Spirit.
35:42 And God continue to baptize me
35:45 and with this subject baptized with his Holy Spirit.
35:49 Amen, thank you for sharing,
35:50 so this coming year there's another opportunity for you.
35:53 Thando tell us about that.
35:56 As you heard last night in Justin message
35:59 that how young people are on the world
36:01 are alive and active.
36:03 There was a young person originally from Tanzania,
36:05 who was canvassing in Canada and was so inspired
36:08 that he wanted to go back to his home country and inspire
36:11 young people there for active engagements in evangelism.
36:14 And next summer we get to go to Tanzania
36:17 to worik with young people who are on fire
36:20 for the lot of have a passionate desire
36:22 to reach always with the gospel.
36:24 When you walked in here, you would have found on your chair
36:29 is this wonderful postcard.
36:31 Take it out and look at it
36:33 and this is our intimation project for next summer.
36:36 One in June, one in August in collaboration
36:39 with Alive Tanzania and Reach International.
36:41 We are going to Bunere, Tanzania to minister
36:44 to a community in need.
36:46 But more than that to get training ourselves,
36:49 so how we can more effectively share the gospel.
36:52 And so come to the GYC booths to learn more and to sign up.
36:56 And for those of you who can't travel to Tanzania,
36:59 we have exciting missions
37:01 happening even here in North America.
37:03 And so even if you can't go overseas
37:05 you can minister here and come to the booth to find out more.
37:08 We want to have you and to share Christ with the world.
37:12 Thank you, so be sure to check that out,
37:15 thank you all very much.
37:18 Every year at GYC, there is something called Outreach Day.
37:22 You hear me talking about it often.
37:24 And usually a big smile comes to my face when I speak of it,
37:28 and this year is no exception.
37:30 And I want to share with you
37:32 what's going to be happening on Outreach Day.
37:35 Tomorrow is the Outreach Day
37:37 come here at 1:45 PM, don't be late.
37:40 Come sit in these chairs,
37:42 bring your lunch with you if you need to.
37:44 But come here and sit we will be loading the buses
37:46 right out these doors.
37:48 We have 55 buses right now
37:51 that need you to be on them to go door to door.
37:55 We have also some places on foot
37:58 where people can walk and we are continuing to pray
38:00 for more buses, because there are so many here,
38:03 we want all of you to have the opportunity.
38:05 But one of the most exciting things
38:07 I want to share with you this year
38:09 is what God has been doing prior to our coming.
38:12 How God has placed us here at this time
38:15 for a very specific purpose.
38:17 I want to introduce you to Lisa.
38:19 She is in the Alvin area, right not far from Houston.
38:23 And Lisa tell us a little bit about how you heard of GYC,
38:28 how you have become involved in this?
38:31 Well, my friends told me a couple of years about GYC,
38:34 unfortunately I was unable to attend.
38:36 But because I live in the local area
38:38 about 30 minutes away from here,
38:40 I thought this a great opportunity
38:42 to come and checkout GYC.
38:44 I'm actually planning the first
38:46 Seventh-day Adventist English church in Alvin, Texas.
38:50 I wasn't planning on it and starting giving Bible studies
38:54 precisely one year ago last year in December,
38:58 started giving Bible studies.
39:00 I had up to 20 young adults in my apartment
39:03 and I really was scared.
39:06 I was hesitant but the Lord took away my fear.
39:08 I really thought the calling to reach out
39:10 to these young adults and this past summer,
39:14 three young adults gave their lives to Christ
39:16 and that was awesome.
39:18 Eight months ago they wanted me on Sabbath for church.
39:22 You know, there is no church out there.
39:24 And I said, well you know well lets think about it.
39:26 You know, we don't have new funds,
39:27 the majority of them are college students.
39:29 And I say let's think about it.
39:30 If God wants it to happen, it's gonna happen.
39:33 So we started praying two months later,
39:35 the Lord found a location for us for free.
39:38 And I said what, so we thought--we thought
39:40 this is sign from God, let's do it.
39:43 So we started doing, then a couple of months later
39:45 he upgraded us to a better location for free. Amen.
39:50 And about a week ago I was praying,
39:53 I said, Lord we have to find another location.
39:56 And I started driving around praying
39:58 and we found another location for free and guess what.
40:02 It's a Sunday keeping church.
40:04 We can use that the whole entire Sabbath for service.
40:08 And I'm like, this is not luck,
40:10 this is not a coincidence, this is God working. Amen.
40:13 And it all started with Bible studies.
40:16 And it's incredible whenever I hear Lisa to speak.
40:19 When I met her I could see the excitement
40:22 coming off her and she would say.
40:24 Oh, let me tell you about another miracle
40:25 God did and she was passionately sharing.
40:27 And she said, you know, I was so scared
40:30 when I first was going to start giving Bible studies.
40:32 God had to take away that fear.
40:34 But look what is happening now,
40:35 there is a church growing right there in that area. Yes.
40:38 And we're actually going to tomorrow knock on
40:42 basically every single door in Alvin.
40:45 We have enough buses going there to hit all the doors.
40:47 We're also going to a number of other places
40:50 where there are church plants.
40:51 And you know what an incredible blessing.
40:54 Could you knock on this many doors with your group there?
40:57 No and GYC came on to, it's like perfect timing.
41:01 We planned an outreach campaign called Hope 2012,
41:05 in November and we are planning to do it January.
41:08 And I made a 1,000 flyers and I said okay,
41:11 how are we gonna pass out a 1,000 flyers,
41:13 right, that's by walking by faith, right.
41:15 It was like, God I need your help.
41:17 So I heard about the outreach program that GYC has,
41:20 and I said, I'm on this.
41:22 So I tried emailing people.
41:24 I met Chelsea a couple of weeks ago.
41:26 They're sending four buses out there, that's a miracle.
41:29 I had to make 8,000 more flyers.
41:31 And we're only a group of 15 young people.
41:35 And I'm like Lord, how are You going to use us?
41:37 I know it's His plan,
41:39 He's showing us that He is in control of all of this.
41:43 Amen. Amen. So tomorrow be here.
41:47 We have an opportunity to be blessed ourselves
41:49 and be a blessing to churches like the Alvin church
41:52 that are just beginning to grow.
41:54 Thank you. Thank you.
42:00 It began as a dream.
42:03 I imagined the possibilities of a road trip
42:06 without any initial money or food,
42:09 being sustain entirely by selling books.
42:14 And I knew the idea had potential.
42:17 But for years it remained just a dream.
42:23 Until the school year.
42:25 In the fall of 2011.
42:34 Dr. Seybold, Dean Dennis
42:36 and I were in a brainstorming session for the school.
42:40 And I mentioned the idea.
42:42 Excitement grew as we talked about it.
42:45 It's a Faith Trip.
42:47 And that's how it all started.
42:50 Over the span of two-and-a-half weeks,
42:53 a group of us would canvas our way to GYC in Houston, Texas,
42:58 with no food, no money,
43:02 only one tank of gas and a trunk load of books.
43:06 This was really going to be a faith building experience.
43:12 One morning I presented Faith Trip
43:15 to the students during a chapel.
43:18 I had no idea of what kind of response we get.
43:22 I shouldn't have questioned, they eagerly begin to sign.
43:38 Fall passed, finals were finally over.
43:42 There was a night before we were about to leave.
43:48 As you guys know, Faith Trip is tomorrow.
43:53 These next few weeks
43:55 may be some of the most challenging you've ever faced,
43:59 but don't lose courage, give it your best.
44:04 God is in the business of working miracles.
44:09 Are you ready to experience that?
44:13 Are you ready for Faith Trip?
44:16 On the first day of Faith Trip
44:19 before we actually took off
44:21 I mean of course my mind is racing.
44:23 I was truly nervous to be honest with you.
44:25 The mindset of myself and everybody on the team
44:29 before we took off was, what in the world are we doing?
44:34 Like why did I sign up for this?
44:36 Like I saw the Faith Trip is officially going to start
44:39 in a couple of minutes once the first canister
44:42 touches the battlefield.
44:50 On the day three we were in McFarland
44:53 and it's a town, it's mostly a Spanish community.
44:57 Many of the houses were surrounded
44:58 with barking dogs and fences.
45:01 That I could see pretty clearly
45:03 it was typical Hispanic territory.
45:06 Hispanic territory is usually really funds
45:09 we stuff to canvas.
45:10 I don't speak fluent Spanish
45:12 only one person in a group does.
45:14 So I was doing amount of praying that the Holy Spirit
45:17 will do a lot of interpreting,
45:18 because I needed a lot of help.
45:22 So we arrived in Barstow, a town that was pretty tough
45:26 and we were already having a very difficult day.
45:30 We had the van breakdown for the first time.
45:32 Joe and my self were trying to fix this van.
45:35 I didn't know where the radiator was.
45:39 And this is the first-time that we think, can we move on.
45:43 This would become an ongoing problem.
45:46 I got to keep this in prayer, because it's a challenge.
45:50 We arrived at Tucson before sunset,
45:53 but it already, it was already very, very cold.
45:55 People weren't even opening their doors.
45:57 So it's kind of discouraging, I was wondering,
45:59 can't really even do this Faith Trip.
46:01 But praise the Lord,
46:02 because we worked Tucson the second day.
46:06 And that's why I got a dump bag
46:07 and I never ever had a dump bag
46:09 and know what it was called that first.
46:11 Ah it was just like I don't know if this is a dump bag.
46:13 No a dump bag is when you literally sell every book
46:17 that you have in your bag.
46:24 Van Horn is a town, that's in a middle of nowhere.
46:27 I mean I don't know if there is a more run
46:28 down city in the United States.
46:30 I asked the couple of people like why do you lived here
46:34 and they didn't really know.
46:37 And I am thinking would I can get fifty books
46:40 we're not gonna cover cost for today.
46:42 But somehow inside of me
46:45 I thought that's I was gonna take care of it.
46:48 Jonathan says, Joe and Doctor Harris
46:50 were to the back of the van to the end of town.
46:53 I don't think he is serious, he says get out,
46:56 I say are you serious.
46:58 And we continue working.
46:59 And I buckle go out and here and buckle go out there.
47:02 And by 6:06 we caught fifty one books.
47:07 Faith trip has really thought me to persevere and to push
47:12 when all outward appearance seem grimed.
47:15 A Faith Trip it's daily
47:16 and not just two-and-a-half week thing from GYC.
47:20 Faith Trip has really thought to depend
47:23 upon God in a very intimately.
47:25 Running out in villages awesome.
47:28 See to me how to do in better this hypothermic.
47:30 This trip definitely will make me more
47:33 courageous in the future.
47:34 One thing I can learn from Faith Trip is that.
47:37 Characters power.
47:38 Faith Trip is something that you will never regret.
47:41 Because a trip like this will change your life.
47:43 Value do experience is being with Jesus.
47:46 God is really faithful
47:48 and the failures always apparent failure
47:50 when you are working with God.
47:51 I go buttoned beyond.
47:53 God wants to expand us.
47:54 God can also teach you how to do his work.
47:56 Go for it. All you have to lose.
47:58 God has called us to live a life of Faith Trip.
48:04 So this Faith Trip is officially over.
48:07 We have been geared cold nights,
48:09 long hours sleeping on hard floors.
48:13 But I tell you what each and every
48:14 one of us would do it again.
48:17 And the cool thing about it all
48:19 is that it doesn't have to stop here would be awesome.
48:23 Is it there were hundred of that thousands of Faith Trips
48:27 throughout the United States and throughout the world.
48:30 The question is do you wanna be on a Faith Trip.
48:35 Are you gonna be on a Faith Trip.
48:48 So guess what GYC, Faith Trip made it.
48:53 And I have here friend Joe and Christine.
48:57 And the question we have basically, how was it like?
49:00 You know, to go out in faith, no food no money.
49:10 All right, well we are here.
49:14 Nobody died.
49:15 We all got sick though but other than that
49:18 I will tell you really briefly that 1500 message books
49:23 have gone out but aside from that with coopering
49:27 in any ministry that you pursue in a faith trip manner,
49:31 requires a developing of character.
49:34 In fact, it develops your character.
49:35 It breaks you, it makes you and it does something
49:38 that you wouldn't believe but what is it,
49:40 what is that number 1, requirement
49:42 that it takes when you go from door to door,
49:45 something that we discovered day to day
49:47 and just about door to door.
49:49 It was a humbling than is to take place.
49:56 Just want to share with you
49:57 a beautiful divine appointment.
49:59 A beautiful experience that the Lord gave me.
50:01 During this faith trip in the city of in a town of Van Horn.
50:05 God really tested my faith.
50:07 And he also gave me a special experience.
50:09 I went into a salon and there was many ladies in there.
50:14 I was able to leave about twelve books in that salon
50:17 but there is one experience that really
50:18 stands out in my mind.
50:20 There is a lady that came up to me in the salon
50:22 and she said I would really
50:24 like to get some of your books.
50:25 She is like let me see what you have.
50:27 And I started showing her the books
50:29 in as soon as she saw the Great Controversy
50:31 her eyes were led up and she got so excited
50:34 she said does it had pictures and I said of course.
50:37 I start to showing her the pictures
50:39 and she said wow this is a beautiful book.
50:41 She said I use to have this book there was old and small
50:44 and I had prints and no pictures.
50:47 She said, my daughter and I were reading through it
50:49 and we only got to chapter 6.
50:51 She said, and then we moved and we sold the house
50:54 and we lost the book in the process of moving.
50:57 And she said, I have been praying
50:59 that the Lord would send me another one of this book.
51:01 She said it was such a blessing so we reading it
51:03 and she said our family wants to hear
51:05 the rest of the story. Amen.
51:07 I thank you so much for sharing guys
51:08 and it's truly an inspiration for us. Amen.
51:27 Good evening GYC.
51:28 Good evening.
51:29 Happy Sabbath.
51:31 Happy Sabbath.
51:32 I have with me five friends from New York city
51:35 and they're gonna tell us a little bit
51:36 about mission work they did at Ground Zero
51:40 on the Tenth Anniversary
51:41 of September'11. So Mark go ahead.
51:45 The Lord says that the harvest is what? Plentiful. Amen.
51:49 And here it is in the New York metro area
51:51 composed of 19.3 million people--we decide to follow
51:54 our savior and going amen. Amen.
51:57 And in going we went to share with them the greatest gift
52:01 that could possibly be given.
52:03 Which is the knowledge of Jesus Christ.
52:06 We went with steps to Christ.
52:08 We went with the hymns of Zion, amen.
52:10 Which are sermons in themselves?
52:12 We saying to them and the amazing thing
52:14 is you would surely see how the harvest is plentiful.
52:16 Because when you minister in these large urban centers,
52:19 such as, New York City, you really recognized
52:23 just how vast the numbers the numbers come.
52:27 And they had their media and their cameras
52:30 and poeple were crying as we sing.
52:32 Amazing grace, at a solemn moment
52:35 September, 11th a decade anniversary.
52:38 And the thing is we met other Seventh-day Adventist.
52:41 So as we were passing out steps to Christ.
52:42 We meet missionaries from Canada
52:44 or missionaries from Utah.
52:46 And other states just seeking to minister
52:49 to our brothers and sisters in New York City.
52:51 So to God be the glory and remember Jesus in Mathew 4;19,
52:54 "If you follow me I will make you fishes of men."
52:57 To God be the glory. Now that day found out
52:59 something special Misael tell us about it.
53:01 Absolutely this really struck us.
53:03 Really it was something amazing.
53:05 Just to give you some context there was thousands
53:07 if not hundred of thousands of people.
53:09 There was Tenth Anniversary of 9/11
53:11 that changed the entire world.
53:13 We were singing on a corner.
53:14 It was about two hours and we had sung our throats.
53:16 They were gone. I knew I wasn't going
53:18 to be able to speak the day after.
53:19 It was hours that we were out there.
53:21 We went afterwards to pray.
53:23 Right at Ground Zero when we opened our eyes
53:25 we were in a circle.
53:27 We reopened our eyes there was two ladies
53:28 there one had been a missionary in China.
53:32 And she tells us the story.
53:33 We didn't know why she was telling this story
53:34 about the Felton street revival.
53:36 In New York City and she says nobody knows about it.
53:39 But it happened 1857 there was a man in downtown
53:44 on Felton St. and he started an hour of prayer
53:47 every Wednesday at noon.
53:49 Where he wanted people to come and pray with him.
53:52 The first time five people showed up to cut story
53:55 real short because it was an amazing story
53:57 and we don't have that much time.
53:58 Within three months there was fifty thousand people. Wow.
54:01 Within New York city that would stop and pray at noon.
54:05 It goes more than that. Because you know,
54:07 what happens in New York
54:08 spreads in the rest of the world quickly
54:11 that's it's the centre of finance
54:13 culture, music everything.
54:15 Well, in eighteen months after that
54:16 there were one million souls converted to Jesus. Wow.
54:20 One million, one million and then we heard
54:23 just this is amazing my cause that night researches it.
54:27 Guess what street
54:29 we were standing on, we didn't even know.
54:31 We had no clue and we went we looked to admit,
54:35 we were standing in Felton St. Wow. Amen.
54:38 Amen, when I saw that one we saw that we praise the Lord
54:41 because we know that revival is coming.
54:43 And in 1857 that happen a 150 years.
54:46 We're gonna see it happen again.
54:48 And I am convinced of that. Amen.
54:50 Amen, thank you. Thank you.
55:07 Before the throne of God above
55:12 I have a strong and perfect plea
55:16 A great High Priest, whose name is Love
55:21 Who ever lives and pleads for me
55:27 My name is graven on His hands
55:32 My name is written on His heart
55:36 I know that while in heaven He stands
55:42 No tongue can bid me thence depart
55:54 When Satan tempts me to despair
55:58 And tells me of the guilt within
56:03 Upward I look, and see Him there
56:07 Who made an end to all my sin
56:11 Because the sinless Savior died
56:15 My sinful soul is counted free
56:19 For God the just is satisfied
56:25 To look on Him and pardon me
56:37 Behold Him there, the Risen Lamb
56:41 My perfect, spotless righteousness
56:46 The great unchangeable I am
56:50 The King of glory and of grace
56:56 One with Himself I cannot die
57:00 My soul is purchased by His blood
57:04 My life is hid with Christ on high
57:11 With Christ, my Savior and my God
57:17 My name is graven on His hands
57:22 My name is written on His heart
57:26 My life is hid with Christ on high
57:33 With Christ, my Savior and my God
