I also noticed in reading
your editorial that you took

on a very, very
interesting topic there as well.

talking about this divide

that is often talked
about in our own church.

And that divide has to do with
whether you actually are paid

by the church or whether you
are a lay person like myself.

And what I wanted
to ask you was this.

Does it make a difference,

if you've have tithe
dollars in your wallet,

working for the Lord?

people wherever they are.

Employment is not the test of
whether we're serving the Lord.

we get to the end of time,

No, actually I was
born in an Adventist family,

but it wasn't until
about six to seven years ago,

when my son attended
some Bible studies given

in school and the fire of
the love of God caught on him
00:06:38.46\00:06:41.26
and he brought it home to
me and my life has never been
00:06:41.26\00:06:44.56
the same again, the
peace, the joy, the security
00:06:44.56\00:06:48.26
that the Lord
has put in my heart,
00:06:48.26\00:06:50.26
you cannot find
it in this world.
00:06:50.26\00:06:52.26
I never thought it was
ever possible, but it has.
00:06:52.26\00:06:55.83
So it didn't go from
the parents to the child,

it went from the children
to the parent, is that right?

God used my only
son to introduce me

for His children all around

but it's all over, all

I ask the Lord, any door
that You open open for me,

me what to do and I'll do it.

At work, I witness
not only to doctors,

but to employees
and to my patients.

I pray with every
every patient not just this,

but because I've a
special interest in dermatology,

all our doctors, our 12 doctors
refer their patients to me.

So many of them are overweight,

many have metabolic syndrome,

the autoimmune
diseases et cetera, et cetera.

A lot of things that
are lifestyle related.

So I start with
lifestyle and that leads me

to the origin of the
life, of the health message

which is in
Genesis, time of creation.

And then it goes into
what God added layer after sin

and the plan of
salvation and it just goes on

and I end up
giving the patients,

that's another thing
literature evangelism.

I have our books
all over my exam offices

and I continually order books

freely to my patients.

about an incident

with the Baptist pastor
who was a patient of yours.

and every time I pray with him,

this is a last time I'm

and I can't see you anymore.

something good happen grew.

First human sex trafficking
which I've never had before

and I knew very little about.

And this burden grew
and grew inside of me

and so I try to figure out Lord,

what do you want me to do?

And I was lead
through my wife's work

she has a job
there in Las Vegas,

there is a gentlemen.

And he heard me
talking at in a social occasion

and he came up to me
and he just whispered,

if you can find a legitimate

I made some calls

And then all of a sudden
I got a letter in the mail.

And I looked at that letter

and it was announcing the fact,

that this organization
wanted to open a home

to help sex traffic victims.

and the minute that I share

and we felt the Lord calling us
to go down and help with this,

to make the first step.

And getting in
touch with the church,

we found out
that there was a group

of local Brazilian professionals

that the Lord had also
been impelling to step forward

it's our last day and
there was some, an American man

on the trip who
talked about an organization

that he had been
fund raising for,

that is his

and he had just been with
a group of women that lived,

have lived abused lives

and are in actual

that the women said,

So our last day of
clinic, there was a young girl

brought to us by the
headmaster of the school

When I saw her she
looked very, very old.

She had just gone through
a very critical situation,

her 13 year old sister
had gone through circumcision

and preparing her to be married,

so that the father
could collect the dowry.

The 10 year old girl,
that you see a picture

of right now watched
her sister go through

circumcision and then
died because she blooded out,

they couldn't stop the bleeding.

So, the chief of the
area had investigated

the situation and had
the father and the woman
00:50:06.60\00:50:10.60
who performed the
circumcision put into jail.

And continued to
investigate and found out

a little bit later that
now the uncle was intending
00:50:16.56\00:50:19.10
to have the
10-year-old circumcised
00:50:19.10\00:50:21.40
in order she could be
married to the person that her

13-year-old sister was
going to be married too.
00:50:24.13\00:50:26.70
And then he
could collect the dowry

and get the
father out of prison.

So the headmaster
of the school asked

could we help in this situation?

And it was an exact
match, she was a young girl

who needed hope, who
needed a changed life.

connect the two people together

in our rescue center
