Welcome to 3ABN's Fall Camp Meeting, Homecoming 2010, 00:00:24.68\00:00:29.38 featuring inspired messages from your 3ABN family, 00:00:32.12\00:00:35.32 and special guest speaker Jack Blanco, 00:00:36.10\00:00:39.04 along with uplifting Christian music. 00:00:39.44\00:00:41.54 All to prepare your heart for the coming of the Lord. 00:00:41.90\00:00:45.08 I'm excited about this entire camp meeting Danny. 00:00:45.62\00:00:49.75 I really am. We've got a great speaker. 00:00:50.15\00:00:53.32 The Lord has blessed him. He has paid his dues, 00:00:53.92\00:00:58.00 he got his ThD. 00:00:58.01\00:01:01.25 And he has spent some time with the Lord, 00:01:01.69\00:01:05.12 I guarantee you. But this man is an interesting man. 00:01:05.13\00:01:08.12 Daniel, I know that you've known him a long time, 00:01:08.13\00:01:10.47 because he is one of the first preachers to come 00:01:10.48\00:01:13.16 and preach here. He was. 00:01:13.17\00:01:14.96 And in fact, they came up several, he came. 00:01:14.97\00:01:18.56 Elder Blanco with several people from 00:01:18.57\00:01:20.37 Southern at the time, Southern College. Right. 00:01:20.63\00:01:22.69 And came up, we had been on the air 00:01:23.04\00:01:24.91 maybe an year or so and through the McKey's, 00:01:24.92\00:01:29.67 Association with McKey's and Bill Hulsey. 00:01:29.68\00:01:31.70 Yeah. They said, you need to get 00:01:31.71\00:01:33.56 Elder Blanco up there and bring some guys 00:01:33.57\00:01:36.27 and do some programming. 00:01:36.28\00:01:37.25 So we wanna thank you that even though 00:01:37.26\00:01:39.01 our ministry was fledgling, 00:01:39.02\00:01:40.33 we didn't have the nice studios 00:01:40.34\00:01:42.03 and all that we have now, 00:01:42.04\00:01:43.12 that you all came up and were a blessing. 00:01:43.42\00:01:45.50 They have been supportive ever since. 00:01:45.51\00:01:47.28 That's right. And then he has been 00:01:47.29\00:01:48.84 the professor of Theology at 00:01:48.85\00:01:52.16 Southern Adventist University 00:01:52.17\00:01:53.64 is now Professor at Meritus. 00:01:53.65\00:01:55.09 But this man has had an interesting life Danny. 00:01:55.53\00:01:58.12 I read his book called Jack. 00:01:58.13\00:01:59.78 How many of you have read the book Jack? 00:02:00.11\00:02:01.96 Well, some of you have. And I'll tell you if you, 00:02:01.97\00:02:05.28 a very few books that I've ever read 00:02:05.29\00:02:07.75 that I just could not put down until I finished it. 00:02:08.20\00:02:11.77 And that is one of them, if you get a chance, 00:02:12.26\00:02:14.48 read that book, because it's a story of his life. 00:02:14.49\00:02:18.04 He was born to a single mom. 00:02:18.05\00:02:20.30 She was a German immigrant, 00:02:20.76\00:02:22.89 moved to Chicago before he was born. 00:02:22.90\00:02:25.11 So he was born in this country. 00:02:25.12\00:02:26.43 And then he would go back with his mother 00:02:27.09\00:02:29.37 to visit his grandparents. 00:02:29.38\00:02:30.97 And Danny, he got back there. 00:02:31.47\00:02:33.81 I think you were, were you 6, 7, 8. About 10. 00:02:33.82\00:02:37.10 About 10. And the grandparents said, 00:02:37.15\00:02:39.92 why don't we let Jack stay this year so that 00:02:39.93\00:02:42.79 he can work on his German. 00:02:42.80\00:02:44.30 You know, he was not speaking German 00:02:44.64\00:02:46.71 all the time. He needed to get that 00:02:46.72\00:02:48.15 language up to speed. 00:02:48.16\00:02:49.40 And we would love to have him for a year. 00:02:49.41\00:02:51.69 Well that was the year that World War II 00:02:52.48\00:02:55.28 broke out, is that right? 00:02:55.29\00:02:56.45 And he was trapped behind the Nazi curtain. 00:02:57.10\00:03:01.06 Well. And if you got to read that book, 00:03:01.64\00:03:03.86 they treated this man like they would have treated 00:03:03.87\00:03:06.71 a full grown spy. I mean they really did 00:03:07.11\00:03:11.44 and his next few years were really something. 00:03:11.79\00:03:14.76 And then he sort of had a youth that was along 00:03:14.77\00:03:20.30 the edge and came back to the US 00:03:20.31\00:03:23.34 of course eventually. And then he found 00:03:23.35\00:03:25.97 Jesus Christ. Amen. What the Lord does 00:03:25.98\00:03:29.72 to people, it's exciting. 00:03:29.73\00:03:31.82 And maybe he will share some of these things 00:03:32.26\00:03:33.99 with us in some of the talks. 00:03:34.00\00:03:36.02 But, we're so happy that he is here. 00:03:36.03\00:03:38.66 Yeah, I know one thing he is also very strong. 00:03:38.67\00:03:42.12 This guy, if he gives you hug, 00:03:42.45\00:03:44.08 I hope you got a good back because 00:03:44.09\00:03:45.53 he's got a strong bear hug. 00:03:45.54\00:03:47.47 This guy. He does. He is strong. 00:03:47.48\00:03:48.86 But that lets you know he loves you. 00:03:48.87\00:03:50.43 Yeah. And so I, when he comes, 00:03:50.44\00:03:52.79 I brace for it. Yeah. Because when he gives 00:03:52.80\00:03:54.33 you that hug. But I'll be disappointed 00:03:54.34\00:03:56.64 if you quit hugging me. 00:03:56.65\00:03:57.62 Yeah. So, thank you. 00:03:57.63\00:03:58.94 He does, he has got one of the greatest hugs 00:03:58.95\00:04:00.79 I've run into in a long time. 00:04:00.80\00:04:02.86 But my ribs right now don't really appreciate 00:04:03.26\00:04:05.91 that kind of hug. But normally I really do. 00:04:05.92\00:04:09.10 He told the crowd earlier you thought 00:04:09.11\00:04:10.62 about showing how to mountain 00:04:10.63\00:04:12.05 this man off of the horse. 00:04:12.06\00:04:13.22 Yeah. I was gonna demonstrate 00:04:13.23\00:04:14.33 how to do that. But you already did that 00:04:14.34\00:04:16.97 a few weeks ago and ended up 00:04:16.98\00:04:18.57 in some ribs, right, broken ribs. 00:04:18.58\00:04:20.30 It did, broken ribs and everything that 00:04:20.31\00:04:21.92 goes with it. So we've had... 00:04:21.93\00:04:23.99 Pneumonia? Yeah. And then those kinds 00:04:24.37\00:04:26.93 of things happen if you don't breathe 00:04:26.94\00:04:28.22 properly and so. But the Lord has come along; 00:04:28.23\00:04:32.03 I think my lungs are clear now. Amen. 00:04:32.50\00:04:34.93 And I'm feeling better and progressing. 00:04:34.94\00:04:38.32 Another couple of weeks these ribs, 00:04:38.79\00:04:40.56 I'll be fully healed; 00:04:40.57\00:04:41.54 I'll be, ribs back in normal. 00:04:41.55\00:04:43.00 So until then I will still keep growling 00:04:43.01\00:04:46.59 a little bit at people with it, 00:04:46.60\00:04:47.92 it's a little too rough. Yeah. 00:04:48.25\00:04:50.17 You know before we get to hear 00:04:50.18\00:04:51.36 Dr. Jack preach though we're going to get 00:04:51.37\00:04:55.43 to hear you sing one of the songs 00:04:55.44\00:04:57.49 from your new album. 00:04:57.50\00:04:58.48 And ever since I've come here, 00:04:58.92\00:05:01.21 I've said to Danny, you got to do 00:05:01.22\00:05:02.73 a new album. And when I go out 00:05:02.74\00:05:04.79 people says Danny have a new album yet? 00:05:04.80\00:05:06.69 I would say, no. But he's got to do 00:05:06.70\00:05:09.29 a new album. And tell us about this album. 00:05:09.30\00:05:12.09 Well, it's the first one I've done 00:05:12.54\00:05:14.08 in six years or so but. 00:05:14.09\00:05:15.48 And I what I did, you know, 00:05:15.49\00:05:16.61 I don't really consider myself a great singer. 00:05:16.62\00:05:19.49 I've got good ears, 00:05:19.50\00:05:20.47 so that tells me I'm not a great singer, 00:05:20.48\00:05:22.02 but God has used and He will use any of us 00:05:22.03\00:05:24.54 to sing and communicate as a communicator. 00:05:24.55\00:05:27.48 But what I did is, so when you're a singer, 00:05:27.49\00:05:31.18 those of you. How many of you sing sometimes 00:05:31.19\00:05:32.94 at church? Don't you like to have like, 00:05:32.95\00:05:34.55 orchestra behind you? 00:05:35.65\00:05:36.73 Do you like to have full blown sound tracks? 00:05:36.74\00:05:39.46 I mean it makes you feel better because 00:05:39.47\00:05:41.20 it kind of covers up anything. 00:05:41.21\00:05:43.01 So I would like to have done this type of project 00:05:43.02\00:05:45.90 but it's like the Lord didn't allow me to do it. 00:05:45.91\00:05:47.89 As I was going over some of the older songs, 00:05:48.25\00:05:50.39 we'll now be doing here in a moment. 00:05:50.40\00:05:51.66 It occurred to me. 00:05:53.26\00:05:54.72 My parents, they were very poor. 00:05:54.73\00:05:57.06 We were raised poor. My father was disabled. 00:05:57.07\00:05:58.96 And so after a short time and, 00:05:59.34\00:06:02.32 we had a lot of music in the Shelton home. 00:06:02.77\00:06:04.91 But we only had music with the guitar 00:06:04.92\00:06:06.97 or a piano, or both. 00:06:07.42\00:06:09.50 And songs that were handed to me that 00:06:10.26\00:06:12.69 still mean so much this song, 00:06:12.70\00:06:14.30 I'm getting ready to do. 00:06:14.31\00:06:15.28 I come to the garden alone. 00:06:15.29\00:06:16.26 Yes. Songs tell me the story of Jesus. 00:06:16.27\00:06:18.91 Does Jesus Care? Some of those songs 00:06:19.61\00:06:22.49 were handed to me very simply, 00:06:22.50\00:06:24.63 and from the heart of my parents. 00:06:25.32\00:06:27.23 So it's like the Lord allowed me to do 00:06:27.24\00:06:30.19 this project and though I felt, 00:06:30.20\00:06:31.83 boy, I wish I had a lot more accompaniment, 00:06:32.22\00:06:33.99 I'd feel more secure about it. 00:06:34.00\00:06:35.34 I did very simple project, 00:06:37.47\00:06:39.04 but I wanted to be from my heart to ears, 00:06:39.05\00:06:41.57 the way that the songs came to me 00:06:41.58\00:06:43.27 is the way that I am trying to get those to you. 00:06:43.70\00:06:45.76 And some of you actually tell us, 00:06:45.77\00:06:47.13 we don't like all these tracks, 00:06:47.14\00:06:48.65 we like things more simple. 00:06:48.66\00:06:50.80 And so, if you like something simple 00:06:51.14\00:06:53.14 then you probably would like this one. 00:06:53.15\00:06:54.50 Because there's either piano, guitar 00:06:54.51\00:06:56.71 or both of them, and that's it. 00:06:56.72\00:06:58.40 Well, I'm tell you that Camille 00:06:58.41\00:06:59.85 and I got a copy of it before it even 00:06:59.86\00:07:01.77 went to press. And we really have enjoyed it. 00:07:01.78\00:07:05.73 We've played it over and over again. 00:07:05.74\00:07:07.17 And you, be sure to get a copy of this. 00:07:07.55\00:07:09.98 If you are out there on television 00:07:09.99\00:07:12.60 you can order one anytime other than Sabbath hours 00:07:12.61\00:07:16.05 simply by calling us here at 3ABN. 00:07:16.83\00:07:19.46 Danny after you sing in the garden 00:07:19.91\00:07:22.44 then the next voice will here be 00:07:22.94\00:07:24.73 that of Elder Jack Blanco. 00:07:24.74\00:07:26.66 This is ET Everett that's going to 00:07:34.47\00:07:36.30 accompany for me here. 00:07:36.31\00:07:37.51 I come to the garden alone, 00:07:45.36\00:07:54.04 While the dew is still on the roses, 00:07:54.05\00:08:05.36 And the voice I hear falling on my ear 00:08:06.03\00:08:16.17 The Son of God discloses. 00:08:16.18\00:08:26.64 And He walks with me, and He talks with me, 00:08:27.91\00:08:39.24 And He tells me I am His own; 00:08:39.79\00:08:48.03 And the joy we share as we tarry there, 00:08:48.04\00:08:57.40 None other has ever known. 00:08:58.60\00:09:10.56 He speaks, and the sound of His voice 00:09:13.23\00:09:21.24 Is so sweet the birds hush their singing, 00:09:21.25\00:09:30.44 And the melody that He gave to me 00:09:32.50\00:09:41.37 Within my heart is ringing. 00:09:41.38\00:09:51.35 I'd stay in the garden with Him, 00:09:52.64\00:09:59.84 Though the night around me be falling, 00:09:59.85\00:10:10.25 But He bids me go; through the voice of woe 00:10:10.89\00:10:20.52 His voice to me is calling. 00:10:20.53\00:10:30.35 And He walks Sing it with me, 00:10:31.96\00:10:36.17 With me and He talks with me, 00:10:36.67\00:10:42.51 And He tells me I am His own; 00:10:43.28\00:10:50.11 And the joy we share That's beautiful 00:10:52.17\00:10:55.61 As we tarry there, 00:10:56.09\00:11:01.10 None other has ever known. 00:11:02.16\00:11:13.20 None other has ever known. 00:11:14.64\00:11:29.29 Father in heaven, in the quiet of this moment, 00:11:41.52\00:11:46.01 we invite your presence in a very marked 00:11:47.90\00:11:51.65 way this evening, and throughout this 00:11:51.66\00:11:55.37 camp meeting weekend in Jesus name, amen, amen. 00:11:55.38\00:12:00.18 Well, I want to thank 3ABN for inviting me 00:12:00.92\00:12:03.81 here for this occasion. 00:12:03.82\00:12:05.22 You know, anniversary, I can hardly believe 00:12:05.63\00:12:09.21 that 25 plus years have passed 00:12:09.22\00:12:11.89 since 3ABN began. But what a miracle. 00:12:12.30\00:12:16.48 Amen. What a miracle the Lord has wrought. 00:12:16.81\00:12:20.76 The text that I'm preaching from 00:12:24.66\00:12:26.19 this evening is Luke the 15th chapter. 00:12:26.20\00:12:29.62 If you have your Bibles turn to that 00:12:29.96\00:12:32.17 chapter with me, Luke the 15th chapter. 00:12:32.18\00:12:35.75 In Luke the 15th chapter we have three parables, 00:12:37.88\00:12:41.16 you know what they are, right? 00:12:41.17\00:12:42.32 There is a parable of the lost sheep, 00:12:42.94\00:12:46.90 the parable of the lost coin 00:12:46.91\00:12:49.55 and the parable of the lost son 00:12:49.56\00:12:52.16 or the prodigal son. 00:12:52.17\00:12:53.42 Yes. Now some Bibles have the headings 00:12:53.78\00:12:57.31 of these parables. Others do not. 00:12:57.32\00:13:01.48 Well now my question is, why couldn't we call 00:13:02.86\00:13:07.03 the parable of the lost sheep, 00:13:07.76\00:13:10.66 the parable of the happy shepherd? 00:13:11.04\00:13:13.11 Anything wrong with that. No. No. 00:13:15.18\00:13:17.98 Wasn't the shepherd happy? 00:13:18.60\00:13:20.23 Yeah. Of course, yeah. 00:13:20.24\00:13:23.07 Now how about the parable of the lost coin? 00:13:23.52\00:13:26.57 Couldn't we call that the parable 00:13:28.29\00:13:29.86 of the happy housewife. 00:13:29.87\00:13:31.23 I mean she lost money 00:13:32.93\00:13:34.07 and she swept the house and found it. 00:13:34.92\00:13:37.00 Of course. Now how about the parable 00:13:39.46\00:13:42.40 of the prodigal son? Couldn't we call that 00:13:42.41\00:13:46.03 the parable of the loving father? 00:13:46.04\00:13:47.83 Didn't the father love his son? 00:13:48.79\00:13:50.22 Yes. And that's what we wanna focus 00:13:50.92\00:13:53.98 on this evening is the loving one, 00:13:53.99\00:13:56.80 the compassionate one, the forgiving one, 00:13:58.40\00:14:01.82 and the kind one. 00:14:02.62\00:14:03.79 You see Jesus told this parable of his Father 00:14:06.30\00:14:11.83 in order to give us a glimpse 00:14:12.39\00:14:15.51 of what the Father is like. 00:14:15.89\00:14:18.14 So, I wanted to focus with you this evening on God, 00:14:21.41\00:14:26.47 the Father as a person. 00:14:27.21\00:14:29.79 Now we know he is. 00:14:31.62\00:14:32.67 Let me share with you a statement. 00:14:35.68\00:14:37.65 It says, there are those who think of the gospel, 00:14:43.10\00:14:46.25 think of it in relation to themselves. 00:14:48.24\00:14:51.23 Well, what God has done for me? 00:14:53.41\00:14:54.81 About being saved, forgiven so on, 00:14:55.80\00:14:59.52 which is correct. But few think of the gospel's 00:15:00.37\00:15:06.58 relationship to God and the suffering 00:15:06.59\00:15:12.02 it has brought to his heart. 00:15:13.69\00:15:17.02 The pain from it's very inception 00:15:20.16\00:15:23.44 of sin has caused pain in his heart. 00:15:23.45\00:15:31.84 You see there are three levels of pain. 00:15:32.79\00:15:35.33 There's physical pain, 00:15:37.07\00:15:38.22 there's mental pain or anguish. 00:15:40.26\00:15:42.14 And then there is emotional pain 00:15:43.97\00:15:47.02 or heart pain. Now of these three, 00:15:48.67\00:15:52.07 which one hurts the most? 00:15:52.08\00:15:55.03 Emotional pain, pain of the heart. 00:15:58.09\00:16:03.76 Have you ever thought of God the Father 00:16:06.27\00:16:08.32 suffering emotional pain? 00:16:08.33\00:16:10.77 A statement is made of Jesus in that 00:16:18.72\00:16:21.75 wonderful book Desire of Ages. 00:16:21.76\00:16:23.61 It says Jesus suffered in proportion 00:16:24.46\00:16:29.14 to his holiness by the rudeness 00:16:29.85\00:16:33.58 and crudeness of men. Now what's the keyword 00:16:33.98\00:16:39.31 in that sentence? In-proportion. 00:16:39.32\00:16:44.77 He suffered in-proportion to his holiness 00:16:45.36\00:16:49.84 by the rudeness and crudeness of men. 00:16:50.53\00:16:53.25 And if that was true of Jesus it is true with God. 00:16:53.91\00:16:56.92 Too often we say well we know God suffers 00:16:59.42\00:17:01.58 but He is God, He can take it, 00:17:01.59\00:17:02.82 yeah whatever, yeah I know. 00:17:02.88\00:17:05.07 But he suffers in proportion to his holiness. 00:17:08.85\00:17:14.88 There was not a pain that is felt 00:17:19.91\00:17:21.99 that does not throb in the Father's heart. 00:17:23.82\00:17:28.59 And so what Jesus does he begins 00:17:31.86\00:17:34.19 by illustrating his Father's love and pain 00:17:35.65\00:17:40.02 by using the parable, 00:17:41.35\00:17:43.04 what we call the prodigal son. 00:17:44.36\00:17:46.05 But we can also call a parable 00:17:46.95\00:17:48.79 of the loving one. So let's begin 00:17:48.80\00:17:52.80 and see what Jesus is trying to tell us. 00:17:53.67\00:17:55.92 Beginning in verse 11, Luke 15, 00:17:58.47\00:18:01.83 and Jesus said a certain man had two sons. 00:18:02.36\00:18:05.82 And the younger of them said to his father. 00:18:08.17\00:18:10.26 Father, give me the portion of goods 00:18:10.71\00:18:14.50 that belongs to me. 00:18:15.01\00:18:16.61 Before the younger son came to his father 00:18:23.21\00:18:27.11 and said give me. Do you think the father 00:18:27.12\00:18:32.33 noticed his restlessness beforehand? 00:18:32.34\00:18:36.39 Now some of you are parents 00:18:38.40\00:18:39.83 and some of you have teenagers 00:18:39.84\00:18:41.82 who have had teenager. 00:18:41.83\00:18:43.14 And when a teenager goes into his room 00:18:45.40\00:18:48.42 and he closes the door, 00:18:48.43\00:18:49.49 doesn't wanna be bothered. 00:18:55.07\00:18:56.05 It happens again and again, 00:18:58.50\00:18:59.78 what are you aware of? 00:18:59.79\00:19:02.00 What happens in your heart? 00:19:03.24\00:19:04.79 A question right. What's happening 00:19:06.30\00:19:09.78 somewhere in this story 00:19:12.00\00:19:14.09 the younger son was not happy. 00:19:15.48\00:19:17.67 He was restless and the pain began 00:19:18.68\00:19:23.40 in the Father's heart. 00:19:24.20\00:19:25.27 What's wrong? He didn't like the farm. 00:19:27.97\00:19:32.10 And then one day it came out. 00:19:33.82\00:19:35.37 Father, give me. 00:19:37.29\00:19:38.42 Give me what belongs to me. 00:19:44.81\00:19:46.36 Now wait a minute, who did the farm belong to? 00:19:47.25\00:19:49.73 The father. So, you know the younger son well, 00:19:50.62\00:19:55.73 this is my right. Give me. Who did I hurt? 00:19:55.74\00:20:02.38 Then it says, and the father divided unto 00:20:10.93\00:20:14.53 them his living. Now we're not told 00:20:14.90\00:20:19.25 what happened. Did he sell half the farm, 00:20:19.26\00:20:21.46 to get the money, to give to the younger son? 00:20:24.74\00:20:27.59 And is the older son in-charge of the other half. 00:20:30.01\00:20:34.16 We don't know. Or did he have to sell 00:20:36.90\00:20:41.76 some of the herd and flocks to get the money? 00:20:41.77\00:20:44.08 Or did he have some investments 00:20:47.29\00:20:49.33 that he had to cash in to get the money. 00:20:50.12\00:20:52.85 The point is, as the father was in the process 00:20:56.43\00:21:01.50 of doing this, how did he feel? 00:21:01.51\00:21:05.14 Oh! yes, it hurt. And as we read a minute ago, 00:21:11.52\00:21:16.12 and he divided unto them. 00:21:16.13\00:21:18.09 Who? The two sons. Divided unto them. 00:21:19.37\00:21:23.14 But the father stayed on the farm. 00:21:24.92\00:21:26.34 That's what happens many times. 00:21:27.56\00:21:28.95 And the son takes over the farm. 00:21:29.30\00:21:30.73 The father still stays there in house. 00:21:31.24\00:21:34.29 The farm belongs to the son. 00:21:34.67\00:21:36.03 And then in verse 13 it says 00:21:39.86\00:21:43.11 and not many days after the younger son 00:21:43.12\00:21:48.22 gathered altogether and took his journey. 00:21:48.23\00:21:50.81 So as soon as he got the money he left. 00:21:51.66\00:21:53.46 Not many days but some days 00:21:58.65\00:22:01.08 he hung around the farm. 00:22:01.65\00:22:03.48 I wonder what he did? 00:22:05.16\00:22:06.39 Did he look his older brother in the eye 00:22:10.30\00:22:13.33 and say I've got the money, I don't know. 00:22:13.34\00:22:17.21 If he did, that's why his older brother 00:22:21.39\00:22:24.32 loved him so much you know. 00:22:24.33\00:22:25.63 But the point is brothers and sisters, 00:22:29.21\00:22:31.20 as the father watches this, 00:22:31.57\00:22:34.28 whatever happened, how did he feel? 00:22:34.72\00:22:38.79 Brothers and sisters, we need to think 00:22:44.30\00:22:46.22 more about our father. 00:22:46.23\00:22:49.23 You need to think more about your father. 00:22:49.59\00:22:51.68 We ought not to think so much 00:22:56.65\00:22:58.21 about ourselves, but our father. 00:22:58.22\00:23:02.99 And finally of course the day came he took 00:23:07.49\00:23:09.45 his journey and said okay dad, 00:23:09.46\00:23:11.23 I'm leaving. Son, where are you going? 00:23:11.24\00:23:13.66 Don't know dad. What you're gonna do? 00:23:13.96\00:23:17.33 Don't know dad, don't worry about me. 00:23:17.75\00:23:19.24 How long will you be gone? Don't know dad. 00:23:21.40\00:23:23.09 I'm not sure it was a long embrace 00:23:27.60\00:23:29.99 and maybe it was. 00:23:30.00\00:23:31.05 But, the son's mind was elsewhere, right? 00:23:33.13\00:23:38.29 In a hurry to go. And so he walks down 00:23:42.46\00:23:45.55 the road waves goodbye to his dad. 00:23:45.56\00:23:47.44 How did his dad feel? 00:23:50.98\00:23:53.01 Probably cried, saw his son go down. 00:23:59.73\00:24:02.41 So long son, so long. God take care of you. 00:24:07.38\00:24:12.03 As I said Jesus is telling this parable for us 00:24:16.20\00:24:21.01 to get a glimpse of what our father is like? 00:24:21.02\00:24:26.40 Then of course, the son wasted his living. 00:24:34.67\00:24:38.58 In riotous living, actually it should be 00:24:39.54\00:24:41.73 in recklessness, not being very careful 00:24:41.74\00:24:46.23 with his money. But you know that, 00:24:46.24\00:24:47.49 you know the rest of the parable. 00:24:47.82\00:24:49.18 But I want to come back to the father. 00:24:49.58\00:24:51.01 That night when the father went to bed 00:24:54.14\00:24:55.95 and knelt by his bedside and said his prayers, 00:24:55.96\00:24:58.90 who was he praying for, 00:24:58.91\00:25:00.14 who was upper most in his mind? 00:25:00.15\00:25:01.68 His son. That night when the father wakes up, 00:25:02.97\00:25:07.36 his first thoughts are about his son. 00:25:08.22\00:25:11.83 Your father's thoughts are always about you. 00:25:18.71\00:25:21.63 We could compare them this father 00:25:23.36\00:25:24.91 and this parable, the human father? 00:25:24.92\00:25:26.64 Yes. Wakes up at night thinking about you, 00:25:26.65\00:25:29.56 praying for you. 00:25:32.91\00:25:33.88 The next morning, father wakes up 00:25:37.64\00:25:40.94 praying for his son. Where is he? 00:25:41.25\00:25:43.18 Haven't heard. No communication 00:25:44.54\00:25:47.72 like we have today. 00:25:47.73\00:25:48.70 No letters, no messengers, 00:25:52.37\00:25:53.88 where is he, what is he doing? 00:25:53.89\00:25:55.21 He sit down the table and eat dinner together 00:25:59.58\00:26:01.58 and the father offers grace, 00:26:01.59\00:26:03.02 who does he also pray for? 00:26:03.42\00:26:05.65 His son. His son is never out of his mind, 00:26:07.10\00:26:12.37 he is always thinking about his son. 00:26:13.11\00:26:15.56 Where is he? What is he doing? 00:26:16.07\00:26:18.29 In the mean time of course the son, 00:26:26.69\00:26:28.33 yes, is out of money, yes we know, 00:26:28.34\00:26:30.68 had to get a job, working in the field, 00:26:31.14\00:26:34.88 taking care of pigs. 00:26:36.12\00:26:37.24 And for a Hebrew young man to do that. 00:26:39.69\00:26:42.15 And finally, the son comes to himself 00:26:46.34\00:26:48.17 in verse 17 and he says, 00:26:48.18\00:26:50.78 how many hired farm workers my father has. 00:26:50.79\00:26:56.02 And they all have enough to eat and here I perish. 00:26:56.53\00:26:59.28 He says, I'm gonna arise and go to my father 00:26:59.63\00:27:01.85 and I will say to my father, 00:27:01.86\00:27:03.41 I have sinned against you and heaven. 00:27:03.42\00:27:09.74 I'm not worthy to be called your son. 00:27:10.37\00:27:13.17 Make me one of your workers. 00:27:14.35\00:27:15.75 And so he rose and when he was a great way off 00:27:16.40\00:27:19.83 his father saw him. 00:27:20.01\00:27:21.15 I don't know was the father sitting on the porch 00:27:22.41\00:27:25.68 of the house thinking about his son 00:27:25.69\00:27:29.39 and looks down the road. 00:27:29.40\00:27:31.01 Oh, somebody is coming up the road. 00:27:32.87\00:27:34.72 I wonder who that could be. 00:27:36.42\00:27:37.63 No wait, no wait, well that walk is like, 00:27:39.45\00:27:45.00 no it can't be. And he looks and sure enough 00:27:45.44\00:27:51.21 and all of a sudden then he jumps up and runs, right? 00:27:51.22\00:27:55.62 Picks up those long roads. 00:27:57.69\00:27:59.37 And the old man runs to his son 00:27:59.98\00:28:03.29 and the pain turns to joy. 00:28:03.30\00:28:05.66 And as he gets closer and sees his emaciated son. 00:28:08.43\00:28:12.91 Oh, some pain returns. 00:28:14.48\00:28:17.58 So there was a mix of joy and pain. 00:28:18.21\00:28:20.42 Son, he was thinking. Son, what happened? 00:28:20.43\00:28:23.59 How come you look like this? 00:28:24.87\00:28:26.53 What took place? And all these thoughts 00:28:28.47\00:28:32.38 are running through his mind as he gets close 00:28:32.39\00:28:34.48 and looks at him and then it says 00:28:34.49\00:28:36.14 that he falls on his neck. 00:28:36.15\00:28:38.99 What does that mean? Well he hugged him. 00:28:39.74\00:28:42.98 The father hugged him and kissed him 00:28:44.62\00:28:46.73 and then the son started talking, 00:28:47.07\00:28:48.73 father, I have sinned I am not worthy to be called. 00:28:48.74\00:28:51.02 That's all the father need here, 00:28:51.57\00:28:53.18 none of the rest of this, 00:28:54.68\00:28:56.12 let me be a hired servant and so on. 00:28:57.09\00:28:58.89 No. Because why? The son is still the son. 00:28:58.90\00:29:04.67 No matter what we have done in our lives, 00:29:10.21\00:29:13.78 we are still sons and daughters of God. 00:29:14.20\00:29:18.75 And so the father said to the servant, 00:29:22.14\00:29:24.06 servant came running, get some sandals. 00:29:24.07\00:29:27.19 And get the best robe and put it on him 00:29:27.20\00:29:30.86 and put the family ring on his hand. 00:29:31.22\00:29:34.93 And let's kill the fatted calf 00:29:36.28\00:29:38.25 and let's make merry because my son 00:29:38.26\00:29:40.86 who was dead is now alive. 00:29:40.87\00:29:42.73 And so they celebrated. 00:29:44.15\00:29:45.40 Won't you celebrate if your son came home, 00:29:48.48\00:29:50.34 had been away for so long. 00:29:53.04\00:29:54.29 We don't know how many years he was away. 00:29:56.74\00:29:58.40 And so the older son comes in from the field 00:30:01.41\00:30:04.33 and as he nears the house there is celebrating. 00:30:04.81\00:30:08.14 And he sees one of the servants 00:30:12.15\00:30:13.55 and he calls him and he said what's going on in there. 00:30:13.56\00:30:15.90 Now wait a minute let me ask you, 00:30:16.99\00:30:18.17 whose house is this? 00:30:18.64\00:30:20.30 Now listen carefully. 00:30:23.69\00:30:24.66 It said he divided unto them his living. 00:30:25.30\00:30:29.27 It's possibly the son's house. 00:30:34.50\00:30:36.18 If it, what did the Bible says, 00:30:36.98\00:30:38.45 he divided unto them. 00:30:38.78\00:30:40.70 Why didn't he go in his own house? 00:30:42.51\00:30:44.14 Because the celebration had to do about 00:30:48.78\00:30:51.79 his younger brother that he didn't like. 00:30:51.80\00:30:53.50 And it says he was angry and would not go in 00:30:55.26\00:30:59.04 and the servant must have gone in and told the father 00:31:00.40\00:31:02.90 Sir, your son is out there, 00:31:06.18\00:31:09.50 just came in from the field. He is angry. 00:31:09.51\00:31:14.10 He doesn't want to come in. Oh. 00:31:15.48\00:31:17.29 What happened to the father's pain? 00:31:20.57\00:31:22.10 It comes back, only different. 00:31:23.25\00:31:25.21 Yeah. Two boys are back together but not really. 00:31:28.61\00:31:37.05 Then it says, therefore the father came out 00:31:39.77\00:31:45.12 and entreated him, spoke to the older son 00:31:47.01\00:31:51.66 with kindness and gentleness. 00:31:52.07\00:31:54.71 You know how hard that was? 00:31:57.26\00:31:58.27 He could have told him, now wait a minute. 00:32:01.22\00:32:02.91 No, he entreated him. 00:32:04.75\00:32:06.09 But the son answered to his father, 00:32:11.80\00:32:13.94 Lord these many years of I served you, 00:32:13.95\00:32:15.92 neither did I transgress your commandments and so on. 00:32:16.20\00:32:19.13 You never did anything for me. 00:32:19.14\00:32:21.22 Now wait a minute, he got half the farm. 00:32:21.59\00:32:23.24 Never did anything for him. 00:32:25.58\00:32:26.71 If he want to have a party, 00:32:27.50\00:32:28.65 he could have had a party with his friends. 00:32:28.66\00:32:30.26 Okay, but as soon as this thy son was come, 00:32:32.58\00:32:37.70 he spent all the money that he had. 00:32:40.08\00:32:42.47 You make a feast for him. 00:32:45.41\00:32:46.56 But I want you to notice the expression 00:32:47.02\00:32:48.39 as soon as thy son, he didn't say 00:32:48.40\00:32:50.75 as soon as my brother, he said thy son. 00:32:50.76\00:32:53.50 You know when there is a disobedient 00:32:54.22\00:32:57.80 trial in the family, say a son in the family 00:32:57.81\00:33:00.97 and two parents are arguing, 00:33:01.30\00:33:04.67 sometimes one says to the other, 00:33:05.30\00:33:07.04 okay this son of yours. Right. 00:33:07.05\00:33:10.61 That sound familiar. Now wait a minute, 00:33:11.05\00:33:14.12 wait a minute, what you mean this son of yours, 00:33:14.13\00:33:15.94 I mean, it's them both, right? 00:33:16.25\00:33:18.24 And so yeah, the older son said, 00:33:22.25\00:33:23.67 this son of yours. And the father gently 00:33:23.68\00:33:29.93 and kindly replies son, you are ever with me 00:33:29.94\00:33:34.55 and all I have is thine. 00:33:34.94\00:33:38.68 It is right that we should make merry 00:33:42.20\00:33:43.95 and be glad because your son was dead and is alive. 00:33:43.96\00:33:46.28 But the pain is not completely gone 00:33:51.02\00:33:52.71 because the older son is not happy. 00:33:52.72\00:33:54.53 Now as I, we mentioned before 00:33:57.30\00:33:58.88 as I said a little while ago, Jesus told this parable 00:33:59.42\00:34:03.48 to give us a little glimpse into the father. 00:34:03.90\00:34:07.80 Those who think of the gospel think 00:34:11.76\00:34:13.52 of it in relation to themselves 00:34:13.53\00:34:15.61 and few think of it's relation to God 00:34:15.62\00:34:18.23 and the suffering it has caused him, 00:34:18.24\00:34:21.07 the pain from his very inception 00:34:21.08\00:34:24.08 sin has brought to his heart. 00:34:24.09\00:34:26.57 Now let me take you to eternity past. 00:34:34.34\00:34:37.00 And a certain man had two sons, 00:34:41.13\00:34:44.32 one was called Michael and one was called Lucifer. 00:34:45.41\00:34:50.04 I'm applying the principle 00:34:53.35\00:34:54.84 of the parable to eternity past. 00:34:54.85\00:34:57.95 So we can get a deeper look at the pain, 00:34:59.59\00:35:04.58 that sin has caused our father from eternity past. 00:35:05.40\00:35:10.78 Two sons, Michael. The one who has like God 00:35:12.95\00:35:17.33 and Lucifer, son of the morning. 00:35:17.98\00:35:20.48 And of course Michael is not only like God, 00:35:24.59\00:35:26.73 he is God. In fact in Hebrews, 00:35:28.10\00:35:30.94 the Book of Hebrews, chapter 1 verses 3 and 8, 00:35:32.25\00:35:36.14 if you have your Bibles, you wanna turn to it. 00:35:36.15\00:35:38.20 Hebrews chapter 1 verses 3 and 8, 00:35:38.62\00:35:43.20 it says, yes, the son is in the likeness 00:35:43.84\00:35:49.81 of the father. In the likeness of the father 00:35:49.82\00:35:53.05 and the father speaks and calls him 00:35:53.51\00:35:57.74 thy throne oh God is forever and ever. 00:35:57.75\00:36:01.74 The son being in the brightness of his glory, 00:36:02.45\00:36:05.30 the express image of the father. 00:36:05.31\00:36:08.58 Then in verse 8 and the father says unto the son, 00:36:13.18\00:36:16.77 thy throne oh God, the father is calling 00:36:17.41\00:36:21.92 the son, God. Thy throne oh God is forever and ever, 00:36:21.93\00:36:28.08 a scepter of righteousness is the scepter 00:36:28.09\00:36:31.12 of thy kingdom. Yes. Therefore thou has loved 00:36:31.13\00:36:37.73 righteousness and hated inequity 00:36:37.74\00:36:39.60 and God has anointed you, yes, with gladness. 00:36:40.57\00:36:44.72 And so we have these two sons. 00:36:47.44\00:36:50.35 And of course even Lucifer, son of the morning 00:36:52.86\00:36:55.16 as it says in Ezekiel 28th chapter, 00:36:55.17\00:36:57.42 okay, from the day that thou was created, 00:36:58.15\00:37:00.31 thou was what? Perfect. Perfect creation. 00:37:00.32\00:37:06.24 Until inequity was found in thee. 00:37:07.93\00:37:09.84 And what was the inequity that was found? 00:37:10.98\00:37:12.93 Yes. You can call it self-centeredness; 00:37:14.54\00:37:19.18 you can call it selfishness, covetousness. 00:37:19.76\00:37:26.38 In plain English, it was what? 00:37:28.20\00:37:30.30 Sin. How art thou fallen from heaven, 00:37:31.22\00:37:35.80 O Lucifer, son of the morning. 00:37:35.81\00:37:37.20 How art you cut down to the ground, 00:37:37.79\00:37:39.48 you said in your heart, I will ascend into heaven, 00:37:39.49\00:37:44.70 I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, 00:37:44.71\00:37:49.35 I will sit in the mount of the congregation, 00:37:49.36\00:37:52.35 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds. 00:37:52.73\00:37:55.11 I will be like the Most High. 00:37:55.12\00:37:58.57 Now who did we just read, 00:37:58.58\00:37:59.89 who was like the Most High? 00:37:59.90\00:38:00.96 Jesus, the son of God. 00:38:02.30\00:38:03.83 So, Lucifer did not want to take God's place. 00:38:07.39\00:38:11.68 He wanted to be like him. 00:38:14.80\00:38:16.72 Have as much a voice in the 00:38:20.43\00:38:22.75 councils of heaven as God had. 00:38:22.76\00:38:25.10 And if that could have happened, 00:38:29.57\00:38:31.21 we wouldn't have a trinity we would have a quad. 00:38:31.53\00:38:34.13 There are five I wills in these couple of verses, 00:38:41.70\00:38:45.64 these two verses. 00:38:45.90\00:38:46.87 I will, I will, I will, I will, I will. 00:38:47.17\00:38:50.11 And what's the problem? 00:38:50.12\00:38:51.09 I. I. What's the middle letter of the word sin? 00:38:51.98\00:38:55.82 I. That's the problem. 00:38:57.20\00:38:58.53 Yeah. So the pain in heart of God began 00:39:06.56\00:39:11.61 from eternity past. We're told long, long, 00:39:12.24\00:39:19.84 long did God bear with Lucifer. 00:39:19.85\00:39:23.02 Finally he had a, he called a meeting. 00:39:26.92\00:39:28.76 And you can read that in that little book, 00:39:30.19\00:39:31.99 The Story of Redemption, 00:39:32.00\00:39:33.38 just those first couple of pages. 00:39:33.39\00:39:35.06 Father called the meeting, he had to make clear 00:39:35.85\00:39:39.15 who his son was? That his word, 00:39:41.40\00:39:47.50 the son's word, okay, was as 00:39:47.51\00:39:50.44 if it was the father's word. 00:39:50.45\00:39:52.51 And so all the Lucifer and all the angels bow. 00:39:58.74\00:40:01.93 Now Lucifer worships and as he worships, 00:40:08.57\00:40:12.41 hate grows even more severe in his heart. 00:40:13.97\00:40:18.86 My question is, how could such an intelligent 00:40:24.09\00:40:28.02 being as Lucifer, the Son of the morning, 00:40:28.51\00:40:34.77 didn't he know that God could read his heart 00:40:36.71\00:40:40.57 as he bow down before him 00:40:40.91\00:40:43.21 and worship with hatred in his heart. 00:40:43.22\00:40:45.91 Can God read your heart and mind when we worship? 00:40:50.07\00:40:52.70 Does he know what's there? 00:40:54.12\00:40:55.24 And when the father saw that, yes, 00:41:04.15\00:41:06.26 the pain depended even more. 00:41:06.27\00:41:08.50 Suffering in-proportion to his holiness, 00:41:10.90\00:41:13.77 by the rudeness, the crudeness of Lucifer. 00:41:16.39\00:41:22.16 Finally of course the time came 00:41:25.92\00:41:27.63 when a decision had to be made. 00:41:30.88\00:41:35.39 It was time out for Lucifer and his angels 00:41:42.34\00:41:45.71 those who had followed him, 00:41:45.86\00:41:47.05 to decide whether they would accept 00:41:50.71\00:41:52.91 the Lordship of the Son of God or not, 00:41:54.01\00:41:55.94 the authority of the Son of God over them or not. 00:41:57.97\00:41:59.98 Then of course Lucifer refused, 00:42:05.66\00:42:09.24 he says I refuse to accept 00:42:12.22\00:42:14.53 the authority of Christ over me. 00:42:14.54\00:42:17.23 And I will defend my position in heaven by force. 00:42:18.40\00:42:23.76 I will defend my right to be here by force. 00:42:25.51\00:42:29.67 Oh yes. Remember the parable. 00:42:31.36\00:42:34.53 Father give me. See what, Jesus was trying to 00:42:36.76\00:42:45.26 illustrate by this parable because Jesus knew 00:42:45.27\00:42:48.50 what had happened way back there. 00:42:50.12\00:42:52.17 And so who started the war in heaven? 00:42:57.35\00:42:59.02 Lucifer. And Michael and the angels fought 00:43:01.81\00:43:05.16 with the dragon and of course 00:43:05.17\00:43:06.33 he was finally cast out. 00:43:06.34\00:43:07.63 And then Jesus came. Father said, Son, 00:43:12.10\00:43:15.91 I think you need to go down there because 00:43:15.92\00:43:17.89 your younger brother, if we can use 00:43:17.90\00:43:20.89 that terminology, is gonna cause 00:43:20.90\00:43:22.96 lot of trouble down there and hurt a lot of people 00:43:22.97\00:43:24.97 and I think you better go down there 00:43:24.98\00:43:26.68 and make sure of things. And so Jesus came. 00:43:26.69\00:43:32.77 And we'll talk a little bit more 00:43:39.85\00:43:41.11 about that tomorrow evening. 00:43:41.12\00:43:42.99 But I want to come back to the Father. 00:43:46.03\00:43:47.63 Jesus is baptized, goes through his ministry, 00:43:50.38\00:43:54.79 comes to the end of his ministry. 00:43:55.19\00:43:57.06 Arrested, stands before Pilate, 00:44:03.18\00:44:05.92 he slapped across the mouth again and again. 00:44:07.46\00:44:13.50 How would you feel if you stood by your son 00:44:13.51\00:44:18.67 and someone came up and slapped 00:44:19.06\00:44:21.56 your son across the mouth? 00:44:21.57\00:44:23.49 What would you do? 00:44:25.73\00:44:26.70 If you had the power to do it, 00:44:31.06\00:44:32.91 what would you do? 00:44:32.92\00:44:33.89 You talk about the control of the father, 00:44:41.09\00:44:46.61 over his own emotions, 00:44:47.13\00:44:50.45 and then of course the rest of it. 00:45:00.32\00:45:02.42 The floggings, surging. 00:45:04.60\00:45:06.49 I had a little glimpse of this emotional pain. 00:45:15.55\00:45:23.95 When my son passed away a year ago. 00:45:25.08\00:45:27.00 He was a physician in Nashville, 00:45:27.91\00:45:30.61 52 years old came down with Lou Gehrig's. 00:45:30.62\00:45:34.79 One year after he was diagnosed he was dead. 00:45:35.94\00:45:39.12 Deterioration of the muscles, 00:45:41.81\00:45:43.56 first blocking in the arms and of course couldn't do 00:45:48.16\00:45:52.57 this and couldn't that and couldn't hardly eaten. 00:45:52.58\00:45:55.14 One day 4 O'clock in the morning, 00:45:57.42\00:45:59.26 got a call from my daughter-in-law says, 00:45:59.27\00:46:01.43 daddy, you better come up, 00:46:02.00\00:46:03.04 raced up from Collegedale, Chattanooga, 00:46:05.18\00:46:09.01 up to Nashville, got there. 00:46:09.02\00:46:10.32 My son was in a coma, gasping for breath. 00:46:10.70\00:46:15.19 Of course, I couldn't do anything about it. 00:46:28.09\00:46:29.64 Went on for 12 hours, pacing the floor, 00:46:30.68\00:46:36.37 praying, pacing the floor. 00:46:36.78\00:46:39.11 Oh! The pain, but the father's pain was worse 00:46:39.78\00:46:47.35 because he had power to do it, 00:46:47.36\00:46:50.05 to change the situation for Jesus, 00:46:50.55\00:46:53.30 but chose not to do so and to let his son suffer 00:46:53.44\00:46:58.77 for you and for me, do you understand me? 00:46:58.78\00:47:02.88 Do you comprehend such love? 00:47:05.43\00:47:07.65 And Jesus is trying to give us a picture 00:47:17.06\00:47:19.07 that of course the time is coming 00:47:24.08\00:47:25.90 and there will be a new heavens 00:47:27.04\00:47:28.83 and the new earth and there will be no more pain, 00:47:28.84\00:47:32.12 nor sorrow or crying for the former things 00:47:32.13\00:47:35.23 had passed away. There will be no more tears, yes. 00:47:35.24\00:47:39.48 And so when we read, you know all these verses 00:47:45.37\00:47:47.53 in Revelation the 21st chapter. 00:47:47.54\00:47:52.51 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; 00:47:54.80\00:47:57.97 and there shall be no more death, 00:47:57.98\00:47:59.30 and again of course we think about us 00:48:00.11\00:48:03.21 and our tears and it applies. 00:48:03.64\00:48:06.52 But brothers and sisters, what about 00:48:08.47\00:48:10.41 the Father's tears? It's time for those tears 00:48:10.42\00:48:14.48 to be wiped away also and those tears will be 00:48:14.49\00:48:19.50 wiped away when you're there. 00:48:19.51\00:48:21.35 Don't cry Dad, if I can use that expression 00:48:29.25\00:48:33.02 with reverence, don't cry Dad, I'm home. 00:48:33.03\00:48:38.30 That's how you wipe away your Father's tears; 00:48:45.30\00:48:49.47 don't cry Dad, I'm home. 00:48:49.90\00:48:53.63 Brothers and sisters, if God's love 00:48:58.80\00:49:02.52 and compassion is forgiveness and gentleness 00:49:02.53\00:49:06.75 and kindness, he can't motivate you to love Him, 00:49:06.76\00:49:11.73 to keep His commandments and to want to go a home, 00:49:12.68\00:49:16.22 then I don't know nothing will. 00:49:17.00\00:49:19.88 If that doesn't motivate you nothing will, 00:49:22.01\00:49:24.79 when you get there, how do you think 00:49:29.21\00:49:32.81 the Father's going to welcome you? 00:49:32.82\00:49:34.85 From Jesus parable, how do you think 00:49:37.94\00:49:40.63 the Father's gonna welcome you? 00:49:40.64\00:49:42.11 When we get there, we shall see Him what? 00:49:42.12\00:49:44.61 Face to face, do you think that 00:49:44.62\00:49:49.02 the Father's so historical, that he's just gonna 00:49:49.03\00:49:54.37 sit there and say, well Son, I'm glad you made it, 00:49:54.38\00:49:57.17 have a seat. What do you think 00:49:57.18\00:50:01.69 the Father's gonna do? 00:50:01.70\00:50:02.67 He's gonna throw His arms around you, 00:50:06.72\00:50:08.96 fall on your neck and kiss you 00:50:09.45\00:50:12.84 and shed tears of joy. 00:50:13.35\00:50:16.56 In the beginning of creation 00:50:47.86\00:50:55.85 When the world was formed 00:50:57.58\00:51:03.25 Though God in His splendor 00:51:04.87\00:51:08.27 This world He had rendered 00:51:09.23\00:51:13.05 Still the best was yet to come 00:51:14.65\00:51:20.93 God's greatest glory The world's love story 00:51:22.28\00:51:37.60 Written just for me 00:51:37.92\00:51:46.55 Jesus is God's greatest glory 00:51:48.20\00:52:00.73 From His birth in a manger To His death on Calvary 00:52:13.58\00:52:21.86 He reveals the Father's plan 00:52:23.73\00:52:29.57 Jesus Christ, Love's sacrifice 00:52:31.43\00:52:39.25 Giving hope to every man God's greatest glory 00:52:41.14\00:52:56.47 The world's love story Written just for me 00:52:56.94\00:53:13.79 Jesus is God's greatest glory 00:53:14.28\00:53:30.34 Jesus is God's greatest glory. 00:53:31.05\00:53:51.94 Amen. Amen and amen, we have been treated 00:53:55.51\00:54:00.31 to a powerful and thought provoking 00:54:00.32\00:54:02.72 message this night. There is a song that 00:54:02.73\00:54:05.97 we used to sing when I was passing 00:54:05.98\00:54:08.08 the Bethel church in Brooklyn, 00:54:08.09\00:54:09.43 my Elder seem to like it called Jesus "Paid It All." 00:54:09.77\00:54:13.14 Anybody remember that song. 00:54:13.15\00:54:14.13 Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe; 00:54:15.65\00:54:18.00 Sin has left the crimson stain, 00:54:18.01\00:54:21.09 He washed it white as snow. 00:54:21.76\00:54:23.93 I hear the Savior say, 00:54:23.94\00:54:26.49 "Thy strength indeed is small; 00:54:27.18\00:54:30.34 Child of weakness, watch and pray, 00:54:31.11\00:54:34.07 Find in Him thine all in all." 00:54:34.70\00:54:38.16 Jesus indeed paid it all. It occurs to me 00:54:38.67\00:54:43.81 that one can serve without loving, 00:54:44.26\00:54:48.66 but you cannot love without serving, 00:54:50.14\00:54:52.96 if you truly love the Lord. 00:54:53.89\00:54:56.42 You will serve the Lord, you will surrender 00:54:56.95\00:55:00.29 to the Lord and that's all He asks of all of us. 00:55:00.30\00:55:04.71 Complete, total and full surrender, 00:55:05.43\00:55:10.73 I preached a sermon just sometime 00:55:11.42\00:55:12.96 ago about the life of Mary. 00:55:12.97\00:55:14.90 I found something very interesting 00:55:15.25\00:55:16.90 in Mark chapter 14, around about verse 8 and 9: 00:55:16.91\00:55:20.45 Jesus in talking about her sacrifice of putting 00:55:21.74\00:55:26.29 the oil on his feet and washing it with her hair. 00:55:26.30\00:55:29.67 Jesus said, she has done what she could, 00:55:31.21\00:55:36.34 very powerful line. And then he says: 00:55:37.47\00:55:40.89 Whenever the gospel is preached, 00:55:41.65\00:55:44.48 this story of Mary's sacrifice has to be told, 00:55:45.39\00:55:50.10 not because she did some fantastic thing, 00:55:51.34\00:55:53.82 swam the widest river or swam the deepest sea. 00:55:54.47\00:55:58.68 She just did what she could, 00:55:59.75\00:56:03.39 she saw Christ and out of her 00:56:04.75\00:56:07.10 heart of love she served Him. 00:56:07.11\00:56:09.90 May I commend that to you this night, 00:56:10.79\00:56:12.87 do what you can, that's all God asks, 00:56:13.71\00:56:18.37 just do what you can, for as long as you can, 00:56:18.98\00:56:23.10 to everyone that you can, everywhere that you can, 00:56:24.10\00:56:29.63 until Jesus calls you to reward. 00:56:30.40\00:56:33.82 And I submit to you my beloved 00:56:34.71\00:56:36.31 brothers and sisters, that day will not be long, 00:56:36.32\00:56:40.88 we have won the battle in the heat of the day, 00:56:41.98\00:56:43.84 the night is far spent and morning is about 00:56:44.26\00:56:48.81 to come brothers and sisters. 00:56:48.82\00:56:50.19 Just a little more work, just a little more waiting, 00:56:50.63\00:56:53.79 just a little more service and one day soon 00:56:54.28\00:56:57.68 and very, very, very, very soon Jesus will come. 00:56:58.22\00:57:04.56 How many are waiting for that day? 00:57:05.38\00:57:07.32 Now how many are ready for that day? 00:57:08.52\00:57:10.76 Praise God, shall we pray? 00:57:12.25\00:57:13.57 Heavenly Father, we have heard the powerful 00:57:13.58\00:57:16.13 message this night, we want to be faithful to you, 00:57:16.14\00:57:19.93 and we want to be ready, working, 00:57:20.56\00:57:23.17 waiting until Jesus comes. 00:57:23.82\00:57:26.20 Even so Lord Jesus, come quickly. 00:57:27.12\00:57:31.83
